Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

She can't win. The pundits say it. The polls say it. The math says it. It's even the word on the street. If Huggy Bear from "Starsky and Hutch" were around, he'd say it's time to stick a fork in her.

So why does she keep going?

One theory is psychological, almost Aesopian. Hillary Clinton - like her husband - is a creature who follows her nature. Scorpions must sting. Ants must save food for winter. Clintons must fight.

Bill Clinton illustrated Clinton grit when he confronted Newt Gingrich during the government shutdown of the mid-'90s. "Do you know who I am?" Clinton said to Gingrich. "I'm the big rubber clown doll you had as a kid, and every time you hit it, it bounces back. That's me - the harder you hit me, the faster I come back up."

"That was not bravado," writes Commentary's John Podhoretz, author of a book about Hillary Clinton titled "Can She Be Stopped?" "It was a warning, and an accurate one. The Clintons are without shame, and therefore we all believe they are without honor and cannot possibly imagine themselves as heroes. But Bill very much believed, and believes, that he is a hero because he would not allow himself to be defeated, no matter what - and that part of his eventual victory would be that he could use the virulence of his foes to his advantage."

Hillary sees herself the same way. The Clintons have campaigned as a unit. They see themselves as a team. They are fighters.

But they aren't fools. The Clintons know how to mount a tactical retreat. Indeed, Bill's career has been one long jujitsu match in which he's used his enemies' weight against them, falling backward to get the advantage.

So again, why is Hillary staying in?

Perhaps it's the best route to long-term victory. Washington has long swirled with rumors that the Clintons are holding some "nuclear option" in reserve against Barack Obama. The latest theory is that they've decided not to use it, as it would destroy them, too. Who knows what it might be, if it exists at all. But it's worth noting that if Hillary were the take-no-prisoners brawler everyone says she is, she would almost surely have pushed that button by now.

That she hasn't used the doomsday device buried under Clinton HQ might mean it doesn't exist. Or it might mean she's looking beyond 2008.

In her West Virginia victory speech, Hillary emphasized her electability. Obviously, that's now her best argument for persuading the superdelegates. But it's an even better argument for positioning herself as the "I told you so" candidate after an Obama defeat.

Just because the Clintons say something doesn't mean it's untrue. Hillary's claim that she would do better against John McCain in swing states such as West Virginia - no Democrat has captured the White House without winning there since 1916 - is quite plausible. Obama is in danger of being cast as the Michael Dukakis of the 21st century (fairly or not). Polls show that in West Virginia, Obama wins only 53 percent of Democratic primary voters in a matchup against McCain. When only half of the party base is willing to vote for the nominee against a Republican, that nominee and that party have real problems.

If Obama does implode, Hillary's bitter-end fight would position her to say to Democrats, "You were warned."

Obviously, she wants to win this year. But the conventional wisdom that she's hurting herself within the party by not bowing out gracefully might be flawed. Polls show that Democratic voters want the race to continue. And so long as she can avoid blame for Obama's loss, she'll be in great shape for 2012. She will be able to argue that Democrats must think with their heads, not their hearts, if they want to win the presidency and change the country. Her centrism would no longer seem calculated. And, of course, the identity-politics bean counters will argue that, this time, it really is a woman's turn.

Hillary will do all she can to appear supportive of Obama should he get the nomination. But appearances can be deceiving. Clinton biographer Carl Bernstein recently reported on the Huffington Post that Sidney Blumenthal, the Clintons' preferred smear artist and rumor spreader, has been pushing the press to cover Obama's ties to Bill Ayers, an alum of the left-wing terrorist group the Weather Underground, as well as "many other questionable allegations about Obama."

The real test of my theory will be whether the Blumenthal operation shuts down after the Clinton campaign does.

What a silly question!
Why won't Hillary quit? What a silly question! In true Clintonian fashion, Hillary only cares about herself. That's why she's flip-flopped on the issue of whether to allow delegates from Florida and Michigan. She doesn't care if the process is fair or foul, as long as she wins.

Here's the question that puzzles me: why does ANYONE want this woman in the White House?

Run Hillary Run!
I want her to stay in this race. The longer she does, the more of her own money she will spend, and the more predatory she will become to make the most of every dollar she uses.

I for one am enjoying all of this. She really p*sses him off.

This forces Obama to waffle publically again on delicious sound bites we all can laugh about.

Plus, if the country cries out for another debate, will Obama continue to hide from nationalized discussions, since the last debate in PA? He can't hide and coast forever.

She also intends to drop a bomb on him come October which I'm looking forward to. Odd how I'm enjoying the happeningsof the democratic race more than I was with the republicans.

Shells
Don't get me wrong; I'm enjoying all the chaos in the Democratic party, too. Still, it's perfectly obvious why Hillary won't quit. She cares only about herself.

In fact, that's part of the reason I'm enjoying it. People have told me that I've been too harsh in my criticisms of Bill and Hillary. Once again, I stand vindicated.

don't be fooled
The fact that most WV hard-core Democrats have a slight preference for Hillary over Obama is meaningless in the context of the November general election.

Also meaningless are statements from Hillary supporters to pollsters that they'd vote for McCain over Obama in the fall.

When the chips are down, these Democrats will fall in line behind their candidate.

McCain is toast unless he comes up with a way to reconcile with the conservative/libertarian base.

Ken
I absolutely agree with you, it really is all about herself, which is why I'm enjoying this more.

Tell me, do you think HBO or Showtime are already writing a docu-drama special on this race? I do, and we'll see it when it's all over.

I think Denzel would make a great Obama. I just don't know who would play Hillary's part. For Bill Clinton...hmmm...Is Buddy Hackett still alive?

Shells: some serious casting
It would make a great mini-series, but I prefer watching the real thing live while it's still on, thanks. When the dust settles, the Left will want to put the unpleasant memory of all this behind it, and this screenplay will never see the light of day.

Meanwhile, Buddy Hackett is dead, but if you're looking for the right actor to play Bill (and not just a punchline), I'd recommend David Morse.

Denzel for Obama would be overkill: I recommend Joe Morton, and get Penny Johnson for Michelle. For Hillary, I'd cast Caroline Kava.

Are they "A-list" actors? Who cares: they do A-list work. Don't know their names? Go to the IMDb, and look them up.

She's in for Buyer's Remorse
The Dems have so many chills about Obama that they might not realize it till it's too late. But of course her hope is that Dems eventually see that she's the stronger candidate to go against McCain. Eventually hope and change get old. Voters will see what change Obama intends to bring and they'll probably choose McCain.

how did that happen?
I know there's often a delay, so I posted that only once. No idea how it went up twice.

Mr. Martel

When one is casting the Clinton cadre, "overkill" is not in the realm of possibility.

No, I've never heard of Joe Morton, Penny Johnson or Caroline Kava, and probably won't look them up.

But my suggestion for the Hillary role is Glenn Close, reprising her "Fatal Attraction" character.

9/12
I concede that Obama probably imagines that he would be played by Denzel.

But I reject your association of Glenn Close's character from "Fatal Attraction" with Hillary: if she had boiled his bunny way back when, we might have been spared their tawdry soap opera's going national.

Unless... you think that's what happened to Socks?

(Meanwhile, the actors I picked aren't as obscure as all that. You've probably seen them each several times -- e.g., Penny Johnson on "24" -- and just didn't know their names. I call such actors "ohims", because as soon as people realize who you're talking about, they say, "oh, him.")

Hillary's clever plan is to appear
to support the "every vote must count" tactic. By holding out for all the primaries to be counted and pushing for Michigan and Florida, she will look like she is for the people.

This will work to her favor in 2012.

Shells
Have you ever seen "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"? In that movie, Ethel Merman played the mother-in-law from every man's worst nightmare. I think someone of that type would be good to play Hillary. I'm not as familiar with the current Hollywood crowd, though, so no specific names come to mind.

Buddy Hackett as Bill Clinton? Nah! If Jack Cassidy were still alive, he'd have been good for that part (he usually played a pompous, self-important windbag). Maybe one of his sons could pull it off.

Ouch!

I both laughed and cringed to think of the fate of poor Socks. Good one.

Hillary exposing racist flank of Party
This year, Democrats should dominate the election in every branch of the Federal Government. If Obama loses, it will be because of Hillary and her racist, Democratic Party supporters.

Oh the humanity!!

No Way
Hillary should drop out. She really is the stronger candidate against McCain. The demon-crat leadership will see this in Novemeber. Also most Dem. voters in W.VA would stay home or vote for McShamnesty before they would a leftist elite with questionable associations. The woodticks are very old-fashioned folks, and to a large degree, populist Democrats. They will NOT vote for B. Hussein O. in any large numbers, though he is a Democrat. Those measly 5 delegates from W. VA. just may decide the election. One never knows!

The aftermath
What will REALLY be entertaining about the Clinton/Obama dust-up, once the dust has finally settled and the general election campaign finally ends, is to see all the books insiders or other observers will be writing about all the inside dirt and stuff that REALLY went on in the battle between the two.

I personally think that Hillary is trying, without having to leave her own obvious fingerprints behind, is to so damage Obama this election campaign as to see that he isn't elected president and therefore give her another chance in 2012. It will be interesting to see if she really CAN sabotage him without leaving her calling card in a way that it becomes obvious to Democrats that she in fact stabbed him in the back even as she was - publically, anyway - ostensibly supporting him.

Of course, if Obama DOES go down in November, if I were Hillary, I wouldn't count on McCain being content to serve just one term. So what if he'll be in his mid 70's by 2012? Anyone see McCain's mother lately? She's 96 and still going very strong, so McCain has a good lineage. Further proof of his OWN durability is the fact that this man survived almost 6 years in the Hanoi Hilton. Compared to that, even the grind of the presidency is a cakewalk by comparison.

Independent
It is my prayer that Hillary will run as an Independent. She is poised to win, should she decide to do that.

At present, I am sitting this election out.

Clinton grit/ gov shutdown?
Bill Clinton, President of the USA, went hat in hand and ask permission from the head of the Fed. Empl. union to shut down the gov. Please, unless it involves cowardise is isn't Bill Clinton.
Terry
Clarence, NY

Yes, a very silly question...
...but we all know the answer, and Jonah has it partly right. Yes, the Clintons fight, but since she was a little girl, it's always been about her. Everything is. Even the country and its future. She doesn't care about anyone else; she's a facade and has been made over by the pros; I can't believe she has so many otherwise intelligent people fooled. She has many scenarios up her sleeve depending upon how the people are leaning and the votes are counted. Never count her out. Bill is her tagalong buffoon - she's worn the pants in the family since she eyed his charisma and knew she needed someone like him. When he almost blew it for her in 1998, couldn't you see the pots and pans flying? Ever hear her real voice? Never count her out - Jonah, Dick Morris, and others are way too nice. No one will tell it like it is for fear of retribution - they have their own careers and lives to save.

Call it 'just a feeling'...
But I can't shake the feeling that there's still something left.

I listen to her talk about not giving up - not dropping out, and there's something in her tone - I can't get over the sense that she knows something the rest of us don't - and she's just savoring the moment - letting the tension, and Obama's lead, grow until she unleashes what Jonah reffers to as the "Doomsday Device".

Then she'll give "The Look" to the politburo members and politician-super-delegates who've thrown in with Obama - and they'll know that she's marked them.

...and John Edwards will give a little squeak and faint.

Just can't seem to shake it.

- MuscleDaddy

No Clinton in 2012
This is it. Her best and only chance. There will be others who get the chance next time around and she will not be one of them.

The best analogy I can think of about Hillary and her party was seen in Barry Bonds and his teammates. I can't remember what the milestone he met was but when he rounded 3rd and crossed home plate do you know how many players came out to congratulate him? Zero. That was all you ever need to know how Barry's teammates felt about him. Same is happening with Hillary. When was her last endorsement? The last super D to switch from Obama? Her own party can't stand her and can't wait to see her sit down. 2012 - no way.

McCain big in Nov. Like it or not.

Games
Why are we discussing this "inside baseball" stuff. This is not a vote on American Idol; we are picking a President. If the Obamanation is elected, our country is in danger. McCain's shamnesty made me sick, but I'm still going to vote for him.

Myths about Hillary
There are some things being said about Hillary that are only myths invented during this contest to give Hillary appeal to the people. Hillary is not a centrist. Hillary is not a fighter. Claiming your the strongest and most electable because of an entitlement attitude toward the Presidency doesn't make you a fighter. It makes you a spoil brat. Bill saw the Presidency as an entitlement and Hillary does too. You right, Clinton's aren't fools. They always get others to make fools of themselves for the Clinton's. What bigger fools are there, then the ones Hillary has made of talk radio and Fox news. The biggest fool of them all would have to be Rush Limbaugh. Hillary has Rush tied around her finger so tight, all she has to do is appear on TV and Rush goes into spasms. Sean Hannity comes in a close second to being completely stupid when it comes to adopting a Democrat as a Republican and tossing McCain aside. Hillary won't quit because she still has the support of talk radio and Fox news. Hillary hasn't dropped out of this contest, because by now she knows how the Democrats feel about her and this is her way of flipping off those Democrats who want her to drop out.

maverick
I hope Hillary KEEPS "flipping off those Democrats who want her to drop out". Because this lark is coming at a very expensive price to her. I love watching her spend Bill's millions on her hopeless campaign. I wish I could be a fly on the wall right now in Hillary's campaign headquarters - or better yet, when Bill Clinton is behind closed doors with one or two close associates and venting his anger at how Hillary is wasting his money. Hey, it's perfectly fine with me if she fights for the Democrats' nomination right down to Bill's last nickel!

Dem Offerings Leave No Choice
44th President John S McCain

Whether you agree with Sen McCain or not, he is honest and trustworthy.

We know what we will be getting.

The alternative will be a disaster that may take decades to undo.

How soon after inauguration do you think Mr Obama will be tested by terrorists?

The terrorists will watch gleefully as he goes to the UN to negotiate sanctions.

Is he Gay?
Ever since the campaign started there has been a rumour mill surrounding the Obama camp like flies saying that Obama is gay. The National Enquirer had a piece about a man who claimed he had a long relationship with Obama. The other day some "preacher" was on Hannitys' Radio SHow who claimed both Obama and Wright have a homosexual relationship and he can prove it. Not that I would take the word of either source I just find it odd that because Obama is blackor at least that appears to be the reasoning. But to this point the mainstream press has not done any type backround check that they would do on any candidate for any office. Obama has a history of cocaine use that doesn't bother the press wither so I just wonder if the rumours might not be true.

Charles Martel and Ken
I'm not too familiar with many recent Hollywood actors like Ken, however, I still think Denzel would be a good choice for Obama.

Ok, here's one for Hillary: Shirley McClain!!!
I do like the Ethel Merman character Ken mentions, except that Ethel despite being annoying was lovable. Hillary isn't lovable. I think Shirley could pull it off.

I have the perfect Bill Clinton--Leslie Nielson!
Now, I know he is still alive.

Seriously, the libs will make a little mini series from this. This will be the biggest insider drama they've done since their special about Letterman and Leno fighting for Johnny's slot.

If McCain wins, it will be done.

Hmmm...who will play McCain? Is Tim Conway still alive?

MONEY
Last I read, she loaned some money to her campaign. Do you think a Clinton would walk away from that note payable? I don't think so either. I believe she'll ride this dead horse to the convention because I'm sure the "loan" included an APR...probably the max legal rate.

Righto Jonah.
Somehow and somewhere in the political race, whatever the current one, the people's so-called "fight" becomes their fight -- a fight for them. I see many similarities in Obama's style though.

She is the better Candidate!
I never, ever liked and agreed with the Clintons, but in all honesty, she is more qualified, and would do better than Obama, for the Country.

I've never liked Hillary
and do not want her as POTUS, but she has a set of 'nads that I didn't think she had until now. There's something to be said for that, not "Hail to the Chief", but something.

An interesting article by Peggy Noonan

"The Democrats aren't the ones falling apart, the Republicans are. The Democrats can see daylight ahead. For all their fractious fighting, they're finally resolving their central drama. Hillary Clinton will leave, and Barack Obama will deliver a stirring acceptance speech. Then hand-to-hand in the general, where they see their guy triumphing. You see it when you talk to them: They're busy being born."

"The Republicans? Busy dying."

is Obamba gay? you decide...
well, whether or not Obamba Osama-Obama Obamas-Hamas is gay or not...

he wears a shiny girlie bracelot, has long slender feminine hands, he attracts all the gays who say "he's HOT," and my all time favorite:

he drinks beer in a GLASS !

So he's feminine for sure, is that gay, who knows, but when a guy is more feminine that me, I'd say there's something there for sure.

The fact is he's BI sexualy.

So that makes my name for him all the better:

bi la Obamba

I could see it happening too, whichmade it all the better.

Good Call!

I agree, with both you and jonah, Hillary won't give up because it's agaist her religion, and you gotta know her "machine" has plenty more skeletons to pull out of the obama closet.

And I can't wait to see em and hear the trolls try to blame the republicans! hehe

Who says politics is Boring?

Why Does She Keep Going?
In a word: pride. Win or lose it's all about pride (or interns).

The GOP has it made: Obama is toast!!
There is no way we will lose to Hussein obama, stick a fork in him!! He is D.o.n.e.! 4 more years!

That is: four more years of the steady, even handed compassionate conservativism that has made our President one of the of the great Presidents of the 20th century

So, let the shrill voices from whackos on the far left and the far right nativists and doomsayers bellow and howl.

The Nations' ship of state is on course, and with president John McCain and a Republican the ship of state is right on moral course.

Once again it is morning in America!

Thank God for his many blessings on our land.

smoke and mirrors
"Her centrism would no longer seem calculated."

What centrism?

Obama Gay?
I recall the rumor that came out months ago about him doing blow in more ways than one, in a limo with a guy back in the 90's.

That story was buried real quick. That's when Obama was under the protection of the MSM bubble.

It seems likely he may have dabbled in experimentation simply because his entire life has been one huge identity crisis. Part white, black, arab, Christian, Moslem schooling, no father figure--these alone don't make a person experiment a homosexual trist, but it's enough to confound anyone in their identity and where they feel they belong.

He also gravitated to radical types. Mr. Johhny Punchclock and Mrs. Betty Apronstrings were not his crowd. He obviously was easily drawn into anti-social types, sees the good even with the most corrupt.

It would not surprise me if he had a small affair.

rumors
I think we have plenty of reasons to oppose Obama, Hillary, and McCain without considering their alleged homosexuality, drug use, murder of aides, or traitorous actions in Hanoi.

I think the cause of limited government is better served by focusing on their votes and statements on the record. There's plenty there to criticize without resorting to personal attacks based on rumors.

Hillary
The answer is simple. The Clintons are power hungry. They are corrupt - lawless, will stop at absolutely nothing to get what they want. If you don't know that now, look back at their history in the White House. They believe they are above the law - and so far have gotten by with it. Ask they 50 or more souls who, associated with the Clintons or worked for them, and are no longer around! Only those ignorant, brain-dead people, who no longer care about freedom, democracy or conservative values will vote for Hillary. Only those who want the government give-aways, or more handouts will vote for either Obama or Hilary. Either one will destroy this country.

News Flash
Ted Kennedy has been rushed to the hospital (no joke). They think he has had a stroke. If he recovers, will that help his brain functioning?

just following up...
Shells: when casting, you can't use the younger versions of old actors. The 4th dimension moves in only one direction, and that makes Shirley 74 and Tim Conway 75. Besides, Conway has usually played sympathetic bumblers, and McCain engenders little sympathy.

No, McCain should, no, MUST be played by Michael Hogan. A number of people have already commented on the likeness and proclaimed that McCain would be our first Cylon president.

And of course, for the Bush cameos, we've got to get Timothy Bottoms. I'm sure he'd do it again: few actors tire of roles that involve a decent paycheck.

Wrat Wrangler: You got that from "From Russia with Love", didn't you? Classic SPECTRE strategy.

(When Grandpa Simpson was invited to tell a scary story on Halloween because he had no doubt lived an interesting life, he responded angrily, "That's a lie, and you know it; but I have seen a lot of movies.")

Zedsmom: I saw that story too, but refrained for fear of karma from saying anything, even to myself. I wish him no harm other than a comfortable convalescence and retirement. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

ex-Wyomingite
I agree that right now, even with the massive disaffection of conservatives with McCain as the GOP nominee, Obama looks like a loser on November 4. And you're right, the Democrats are between a rock and a hard place. Frankly, in 2008, I don't see how the Dems win the White House right now with EITHER of their candidates. Unless some major new scandal regarding Obama comes out by the end of this month - and if Hillary still wants to get her party's nomination, it really needs to happen by then - the Democrats can't take the nomination away from Obama at this point without driving away, as you put it, their most reliable source of votes: blacks. I think they're much less concerned about the Jewish vote: there are lot more blacks in this country than Jews. A lot of other groups in the Democratic Party, such as the college-age voters, are also likely to rebel against the party if Obama is denied the nomination. So even if Hillary steals the nomination, I don't think there will be enough left of her party's base to beat McCain. I also think a not-negligible percentage of Democratic voters who support Obama would vote for McCain in November just to spite her.

On Bill O'Reilly's show Thursday night, he had on two Democratic women who are furious at how the Democratic Party leadership has treated Hillary this campaign season and who are prepared to bolt the party if Hillary is not the nominee - and claim to speak for thousands of like-minded women. One of those women on his show said she's quite prepared to vote for McCain if Hillary is not the nominee - and I suspect many other disaffected Democratic women would do the same just to spite Obama.

Frankly, this year may be at best for the Democratic Party a "cut-your-losses" presidential election year: lose with Obama or nominate Hillary and lose black voters and other factions for the next SEVERAL presidential election cyles, not just the current one.

Why
should HRC quit?
Everyone, including democratic party stragetegists, have known all along that the primaries and caucuses are meaningless. The DNC nomination process depends entirely on the superdelegate votes.
That has been the whole purpose of the superdelegate system all along; to take the vote away from the people and 'delegate' it to the superdelegates.

Political Humor
"Obama reminds me of a pure socialist society....No class." (quote from a poster at Michelle Malkin's Website)

I am eager to see the Main Event!
The Democrat Convention will be fun to watch.
(For conservatives only!)
I doubt Democrats will see much humor there.

Golly, another voting bloc
might go postal. The conservatives have led the way, possibly followed by blacks if Obama is not the nom, or by feminists if he is. Any body else out there threatening to pick up their mrbles and go home? Eveangelicals? Who knows? This large bloc gets no ink or air time and its bigger than any of the others mentioned. How will the Hispanics go? All 3 candidates are pandering, which will they choose? And in the fanal analysis, the whole shebang will be decided by Jane and Joe Sixpack, who at this point don't give a ratzass, a couple days before the vote they'll check good morning America, or maybe the guys at the Vets and make up some obscure decision in the booth. Later, they won't be able to tell you why they vvoted as they did, even if they remember who.

Why won't the Clintons quit?
This one appears fairly obvious to me. For Hillary the presidency is her reward putting up with Bill this whole time. As mentioned above, the Clintons know that this race has nothing to do with the primaries and has everything to do with the superdelegates. The super delegates are in large part elected democrats who are going to be investing their political future in one of these two candidates. As such who would they fear in crossing more should they decide incorrectly? The Clintons or the Obamas? Hell, Hillary seems downright competent compared to that doddering fool, and the time is drawing near where Don Clintolioni will make an offer they can't refuse. Advantage: McCain.

Why does the nomination.....
....have to be settled in the first ballot? Previous to the 20th Century, Party politics were such that the Presidential nomination took several ballots to come to a result. The current primary system only obligates deligates to a certain candidate on the first ballot. While I personally will not vote for either presumptive Democratic candidate in the general election, It's kind of exciting to see what a real primary fight looks like.

Here's why
she can't quit? She would have dropped out long ago, but she stuck in there for womanhood. The men-hating women are a huge part of her campaign donations and continues to be. They are saying to her, please don't quit on us. It would make women look weak, and we cannot afford that. At least that is what I'm hearing from lesbians. It is similar to the phenomenon of Ron Paul. Although he was out of the race long ago, he did not quit til the very end because of the money contributed by voters who strongly supported him, although few in numbers.

Well, you appearance-challeged, men haters, it is time for her to quit. Just as Obama cannot win with just the black vote in November, Clinton cannot win with just the woman vote. I have been hearing alot of talk like maybe Americans have not progressed enough to elect a woman or a black. That is total nonsense. The problem is not gender or race. It is the poltical leaning of the candidates who run and get nominated, i.e. liberals who hold values contrary to those of the majority of Americans. Give us a moderate or conservative woman, instead of the same old, same old, such as Ferraro and Clinton, then maybe we will have a woman President.

Blame the Media--for not digging up dirt
Yup, Hannity answered the call, but he don't count 'cuz he repub. Who in the Lib Media gonna drop the other shoe on Obama?

No Intellectual Powerhouse is He
When the General Election begins in earnest and Obama is forced into unscripted moments before the cameras, those Dems dumping Hillary to get on the Obama bandwagon are going to get plenty scared. This guy is really a light weight. He will be doomed in dabates that are serious about the issues. He is, indeed, an embarassment to Harvard, because his lack of economics foreign relations knowledge is frightening. The Dems calling for Hillary to drop out and shifting to Obama are thinking they are setting themselves up for meaningful positions in the Obama Presidential Administration, but all they have done in their cowardness is destroy Hillary and set the stage for a McCain victory.

Just think, a McCain Presidency and a very Dem dominated congress - a situation ripe for massive grid lock! Even McCain's independent bent will not get the radical left of the Dems to cooperate with him. Safe at last, safe at last; I have seen the promised land and with a totally ineffective federal government we are safe for at least the next 8 years. Then an older and wiser Hillary will return to try again.

Why Hillary Won't Quit ?
I think Hillary has one more 'ace up her sleeve'. She is not staying in the race because she likes being embarrassed when she loses. She knows she is on track to lose...unless..she has one more trick.

If it isn't Florida and Michigan, then it is something bigger. Some kind of 'October Surprise',but I don't think she can wait that long. It may have to be done next week, before he clinches the win.

She probably has her minions, her 'dirty dozen' firming it up as we speak. It will have to be something so terrible in Obama's past that will be so awful, that even his lap dogs, the MSM will turn against him.It must be true and foolproof, though.

Hillary and Bill must be so livid at the way the party has abondoned them for Obama. They will use anything and not give one whit as to how it will hurt the party or the country,as long as it will benefit THEM. Expect a spectacular fireworks show any time, now. I do love fireworks shows!!

Hillary Will Not Quit
May 18, 2008

Jonah alluded at one juncture in this article to an Obama implosion, which is speculative now but not inconceivable based on current situations and past disconnects where millions of Americans were terribly affected and insulted.

I have been hearing about Hillary's notion of an October Surprise which would involve a stage left exit by Obama for perhaps legal reasons. In one of my blogs I compare Obama to a "good husband who you still worry about when he stays out late". Incidently, with Mr. Obama's chronology of events as a candidate covering a short time frame, I think it is natural for any voter or individual in media or politics to vet, question or investgate him with total impunity.

Abandoned...abandoned...where's my proofreader when I need him?

Clinton Leaves Back Door Open
The DNC and the media hardly talk about Hillary anymore, because they want her out and now are ignoring her. She's being pushed out even though she's winning and doing quite well. Neither Hillary nor Obama can achieve the total votes necessary to reach the popular vote quota. At all costs, they want to avoid a decision being made about Florida and Michigan, and they want to avoid having the superdelegates make the decision thereby offending one group or another (women or black people).

Hillary should stay in the fight. She's doing the DNC a favor by leaving the back door open for them. More unsavory tidbits will be forthcoming about Obama, which will continue to make him unfit and unqualified to be elected in November. At least with Hillary, the DNC will have someone to run against McCain; they can't win if they don't have a horse in the race. Obama is lame already.

Shells
"I do like the Ethel Merman character Ken mentions, except that Ethel despite being annoying was lovable."

Are you kidding? I think Jonathan Winters' character had her pegged: "If she was the star of a really crummy horror picture, I'd believe it!" That's why I think she'd have been a good choice to play Hillary.

However, I admit that Ms. Merman might be a little too lady-like to play Hillary. Thus, Shirley McClain might be a better choice after all.
