A Few Questions, Senator Clinton...

Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Finally, Hillary Clinton is getting some moderately tough questions. More important: People are finally noticing that when she answers these questions, she follows the example of Yogi Berra, who once said, “If you come to a fork in the road, take it.” At the recent Democratic debate in Philadelphia, she was asked whether she supports New York Gov. Elliot Spitzer’s plan to give illegal immigrants driver’s licenses. Her response can be summarized as: “Yes, no, maybe, sorta, kinda; Hey, look over there!”

Before the press corps relapses into its coma and Clinton’s competitors go back to hiding from her shadow, let’s see if she can answer a few more questions.

After the Philadelphia debate, your campaign tried to explain away your lackluster performance by implying your male competitors were unfairly “piling on” because you’re a woman. Do you really think sexism is an issue here? Which of your Democratic opponents are the most sexist? Will you play this card with foreign leaders if you run into trouble as commander in chief?

You keep saying that Social Security has lost 14 years of solvency on President Bush’s watch. In 2000, your husband’s last year in office, the program’s trustees said it would be solvent until 2037. Now they say it will be solvent until 2041. As the most serious female candidate for president we’ve ever had, aren’t you setting a bad example by not being able to do math?

In the 1990s, the Clinton administration furiously denied the suggestion you were a “co-president.” Now you routinely suggest your tenure as first lady was presidential experience. So which was it? And why should your tenure in the Clinton administration count when the one thing you ran — health care reform — failed miserably without a vote in Congress?

You’ve said this administration’s secrecy “on matters large and small is very disturbing.” In particular, you and other Democrats have criticized Dick Cheney’s refusal to be more open about his energy task force. Were you disturbed by your health care task force’s similar secrecy? How about your refusal to turn over subpoenaed documents for two years? Why do you tacitly support your husband’s refusal to release your White House correspondence from the National Archives? You’ve said the documents are being released on the Archives’ timetable, but your husband appointed his longtime henchman, Bruce Lindsey, to manage the release of such records. Why isn’t that disturbing?

In 1993, staffers on your secretive health care task force penned a memo in which they schemed to use state-run children’s health insurance — “Kids First” — as a first step toward the nationalization of health care. “Kids First is really a precursor to the new system,” they wrote. Do you still share that ambition? Is that why you support the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, or SCHIP?

In 1996, you said, “As adults we have to start thinking and believing that there isn’t really any such thing as someone else’s child.” Given that many people think their children do belong to them and not the government, does it surprise you they that they cherish their gun rights?

You’ve repeatedly denounced Halliburton’s “no-bid contracts.” Did you object when the Clinton administration awarded a similar non-competitive contract to Halliburton for reconstruction work in the former Yugoslavia? If not, why not? If so, why didn’t your husband listen?

Can you explain — without accusing anyone of anti-Asian bigotry — why so many Chinese criminals keep giving you and your husband piles of cash?

When promoting your autobiography, you gave interviews expanding on your personal feelings while insisting you’d rather talk about substance. And yet, you told the Washington Post that you wouldn’t discuss the political substance in your book. Why? Because playing the victim helps?

You’ve claimed that you are the Democrat best able to “deal” with the Republicans’ natural advantage if there is another terrorist attack. Why is it wrong for Republicans to say they’re tougher on terrorism than Democrats, but OK for you to say so?

Your husband granted clemency to 16 Puerto Rican terrorists linked to more than 100 bombings and several murders on the eve of your run for the Senate. You supported the decision. How does that square with your claim to be tough on terror? What did you think of the Palestinian Liberation Organization in the 1970s? Why did the New World Foundation approve a grant that ultimately went to PLO-affiliated groups when you chaired its board in the 1980s? Does your infamous decision as first lady to sit silently next to Suha Arafat as she viciously and deceitfully propagandized against Israel weigh against your tough-on-terror credentials? How about the $50,000 you took in 2000 from the anti-Semitic and pro-terror American Muslim Alliance, which you returned only after being criticized for it?

Do you think Republicans won’t ask these questions? Why? Because you’re a woman?

Do you not agree that Ms. Clinton has been thrown whiffle-balls up until now, despite her claims she's in the big leagues?

sorry folks, it kept giving me the "page not found", and several refreshes didn't show the messages.

Excellent questions!!
John Edward's Hair Cut: $1200

Government Health care: $1,000,000,000,000,0000,0000,000,000,000 trillion

The question:

Priceless

Exactly which part of Mr. Goldberg's column is factually incorrect?

HRC
Should be judged on her actions and inactions. So far I am not impressed. There are just too many inaccuracies in her words.

Wonder how
old Tim and Brian enjoyed being on the receiving end following the 'debate'.

Don't beat yourself up about your duplicate posts. They still provided more new information than the liberal postings here.

Beware the red queen
I don't know what people think they're buying when they support Hillary -- a third term for Bill? Will President Hillary Clinton let former President Bill Clinton outshine her? I really don't think so.

Hillary has none of Bill's charm or personality. She's not nearly as slick as he is and she really does not take criticism well. She's a statist, an elitist and a crusader. Bill was much more pragmatic and willing to compromise when needed.

I just can't see President Hillary allowing her philandering husband to get much of the spotlight while she's in office. When she's President, how will she react to the next Lewinsky scandal?

yeah right
Like ANY journalist, left or right, will ever have the courage to ask even a tenth of these questions. I remember George Will interviewing Elena Ceausescu - oops, I mean, Hillary - a couple of years ago, and he acted like a puppy dog trying to please its master. Hillary would have gotten tougher questions from NOW. It was sickening to watch and I have lost all respect for the man.

Hillary MAY get pinned down by Giuliani if he wins the Repub nomination, and debates [sic] are subsequently held, but I simply don't see any other candidate or journalist [sic] holding Hillary's teflon cloven feet to the fire.

The candidate with limited experience
Everyone says Obama lacks sufficient experience to be president. Well, so indeed does Hillary. She has been married to the governor of Arkansas and married to the president of the United States -- and then she has been the NY state senator. Period. Being a first lady is NOT a politically valid experience.

What she DOES have experience in is an unceasing attempt to deceive and bamboozle people, especially people who believe in a nanny state.

As for the "there isn’t really any such thing as someone else’s child” statement -- gimme a break. I have no children, and I have no children because I WANT no children. I also don't want fiscal or moral responsibility for anyone else's children.

Hillary needs to go pound sand for awhile.

Buzzkat, you da man
"Elena Ceausescu"
"Teflon cloven feet"
Those two EPIC blasts brought me to tears.

I'm sorry now that I missed the debates. I would have loved to watch her skwirm like the worm she is. I sure hope those other democrat panty wearers learned a lesson from this and start putting the political wood to her.

My dream debate.......the hildabeast vs. Newt.

If she wants to plead "Woman" every time the going gets tough, we may have to gang up and "Swift Little-Man-in-the-Boat" her.

Good points though.. vid.. whatever, of course had nothing of worth to say... probably because there wasn't anything of negative worth to say about Goldberg's column.

Goldberg is SPOT ON, but it's only the tip of the iceberg!

Great Article!

Another interesting take on Hillary's latest debate performance is Peggy Noonan's piece over on http://www.opinionjournal.com.

Since I don't know how to link, you'll have to get there manually. But it's worth the trip.

Better Watch Out
I would be hesitant to get ahead of Hillatola in the polls, or be any kind of responsible for her not being in the lead. People who have gotten in the way of her ambitions tend to have mysterious and untimely departures from the ranks of the living.

If I were Tim Russert, I would be very afraid, wouldn't doubt it if he has already found a dead horse in his bed......

HOW DARE YOU ASK RELEVANT QUESTIONS TO "THE HILLARY!"

Classic Defense Mechanism
When confronted with irrefutable criticism, aim something, anything, whether it is true or not, at someone rightly respected by many. Liberals, as well as alcoholic/addicts depend greatly upon this to go to sleep at night without killing themselves. Myself, I go throw up.

Hillary is accustomed to accommodation
and the subsequent license afforded to her by the constellation of people she is surrounded by. That is why she screens questions, picks interviews, and has tantrums. If Hillary were striving to be an airline pilot, she would thusfar have amassed nothing more than thousands of hours overseeing how others should fly the simulators. I don't want her at 35,000 ft., thank you.

Answer a question directly? That's for lesser beings.

She Must Be Protected
Hillary must be protected from herself. Every time she opens her mouth she proves she is not Bill. The left wing craves Bill, not 'not Bill'. There is a year until the election and she will show the world her catalogue of inabilities. She is an unlikable person and as time goes on the powers that be within the Democratic party will become frantic with fear that she will lead them to another 1994.

A few more performances such as the last debate and you may have a meltdown within the Democratis party as the Hillarites clash with those forces in possession of a modicum of sense.

The Government you can buy
If Hillary gets elected, it will not be the best government money can buy, but it wiil be the one you can buy.

Great Article
But how many of these questions will really be asked of her between now and the election? And will she be forced to respond directly to any of them?

It will be interesting to watch her MSM desperately provide more and more cover fire for her as this unwinds.

But like her or not, she is not stupid, she is tough as shoe leather, and she rarely makes the same mistake twice. And is she does, the story is spiked or spun.

I also remember that (it seemed) about this same early time frame in her senatorial campaign, many of the pundits were waxing eloquent about how the hard bitten New York media would devour her. Well, we saw how hard bitten they really were and how tough they were on her...

A much simpler question for Hillary
I would have just one simple question for Hillary:

"Is there anything about the Administration you plan to run that would appeal to the half of the American electorate who, like me, do NOT possess vaginas?"

for JD's Handsome Son
JD's Handsome Son writes: "Not many leftist posts on Hillary today. They're having a tough time processing what they saw the other night. They got a glimpse of reality and it was disturbing."

It's caused a big gender-gap split on the left-wing blogs too. I've been reading the discussions on Carpetbagger Report and salon.com and other lefty places. A number of the lefties are admitting that Hillary is a weak candidate--but you can tell they're mostly male. The lefty women are retorting "We need a WOMAN in the White House, that's all that matters, so go to hell!"

And to get the Dem nomination, that may well be all that matters. About 60% of Dem primary voters are women.

Which isn't making the other young lefties happy. Outside of the feminists, most of the "netroots" are nerds who do their political activism over the Internet--and nerds are mostly male.

SCHIP attempt to backdoor nationalized..

Bob: You make excellent points!

But, I'm beginning to wonder if she's really as "tough as shoe leather..." or at least as much as we thought.

Her temper is legendary, and we saw a little of it starting to show during the debate. Her fellow demo candidates should take note of that, as well as the Republican candidates!

Remember, ol' Howard Dean was brought down in one night with his yelp, maybe if someone can ask a question that makes her lose her temper, she can be brought down as well. One can only hope!

I suspect that not too many of those “tough” questions will be asked, or answers demanded while she’s debating her fellow dems, but I also suspect that that will change (if) when she gets the nomination and has to debate the Republican candidate.

You are right though, her “people” were going after Russert the next day!

Listen up you conservative weasels,
because his is Mistress Hillary talking. They taught me at Vassar how to fashion a pair of hose into a cat-o-nine tails and whip you little panty waists into submission.
So here follows a point by point deconstruction of your feeble white male impudent questions.
1. Sexism is ALWAYS an issue. You boys think you are so-o-o-o cool playing with your impo'tent missiles and guns and things. I will show you power with a capital W. (WOMAN, you weak minded fool!) All my enemies... er ... opponents are the most sexist. sigh... You just don't get it.
2. How dare you suggest that women are not as good at math as men, you sexist calculating pig? I have two words for you. Larry Summers. He's gone. That's proof that he was wrong. QED
3. That no good busybody of a husband was merely my puppet. He does what I say when I say except when I say to do what I don't say so I can say it's his fault. See?

Hi-liar-y Exposed
After removing that vision from my head, this article and the debate grilling have finally given the GOP, including Senate and Congressional races, an opening to dismantle the vast left wing conspiracy propagandists and their agenda. The networks are crying over the gender card and Russert's blindsiding but now they have to stay credible and try to report. Just keep the Chinese criminal thing going. Its all there for the viewing and revisionist history attempts by the Clintonistas has failed.

The conservatives and independents have already proven our might with the shamnesty defeat and that should be the bell cow for taking these socialists in 08. Bush barely defeated them when he was fighting terrorists and spending like a drunken sailor. For four years they've been losing this war and tried to make Bush the face of conservatives and tie them to corruption. To coin a famous southern phrase, "That dog won't hunt." I think we know the team that makes Haldeman/Ehrlichmann look like boy scouts. But if its a leftist/socialist/liberal that's all right.

As long as the Reid and Pelosi keep showing their cowardly incompetence, we keep killing more terrorists and these dim candidates wishy-wash on the war and promote illegals they will be defeated. Thanks Jonah for keeping it stirred.

Shoo Away The Flies
A very effective defense mechanism used by the Clinton's is what I have named the "tadpole defense". I learned it along the creek in my youth. Our favorite thing was to catch tadpoles and raise them into frogs. The creek, our source of tadpoles , had thousands of tadpoles in it. The tadpoles would spook as soon as we knelt down to retrieve them and they would muddy the water so completely nothing could be seen and we were fishing blind. We would catch a few but the really big ones were rarely caught. You can see where my "tadpole defense" is leading--the key is to muddy the water, throw as much crap in the game as you can, confuse and obfuscate by over insertion of information (false and true); no one will know what to believe and the really big fish will escape every time. Hillary has used this defense to perfection in hiding her foreign contributions and in such matters as the Government Travel Office firings, the billing records, the FBI files, and her abrasive personality. Some like Dick Morris like to call this triangulation, compartmentalizing, and parsing. It does not require a fancy title--it is lying, making false statements, being disingenuous, and in the Clinton's it is habitual. They lie so much it is part of their persona, like rust on iron, or flies on a fresh cow pie.

Listen up continued...
4. It's secutity when democrats do it. It's only secrecy when Neocon, Industrial state, Race-baiting Republicans do it.
5. Those were Republican plants leaking false memos outing me in an attempt to discredit my findings and ME. But it is a great idea that we must embrace for all the children, no schip!! HA! HA! HA!
6. The Washington Post can kiss my ___ ! And they do every day.
7. (slowly, in monotone) It's ok because I'm me. It's all ok cause I'm me. Its ok because it's me....
8. I support my husband and stand by my man. Who cares about a few malcontents from the Great State of Puerto Rico... it's not?...well... we support and love all Puerto Ricans and all people. Who are not dead white males (except the ones who vote Democrat), oh, and live white males who are not gay.
9. Lily-livered Republicans won't ask me a thing because they understand Power, and they will bow down before me come Jan. 20, 2009.

As will you all.

H. Clinton and Issues
H. Clinton does not give direct answers to questions about issues because she is not really concerned about issues and the effect an issue may have on America.

She is only concerned about how an issue will affect the public's perception of her as a presidential candidate. For her, the only relevant question is, "Will my position on this issue advance or retard my candidacy?" For H. Clinton it is all about power. Nothing else. The issues are unimportant relative to gaining power.

Anne, Steve L
Good points about the gender gap and the national campaign. But I suspect that the coverage of the national campaign will ultimately prove to be just as fawning as the current coverage, if not more so. There may be a few veiled, pseudo "shots" taken at her... "Mrs. Clinton, your critics on the right suggest you are a divisive figure who cannot unite the country. Speak to them."...etc., etc. Then they will contend that all the tough questions have been asked and answered and are old business. Anyone who presses the point will be labeled as a Clinton-hater or a Clinton-basher. Maybe she will do a Dean scream, but I doubt it. Believe it or not, there was a recent article in Vanity Fair about how Gore was unfairly bashed by the press in 2000.

I hear the gender gap stuff, and about her baggage. But, these are liberals and Democrats, not Republicans and conservatives.

Some conservatives and even Reps and may well stay home on principal if say, Rudy is nominated. We do sometimes police our own, to our own detriment.

However, do you truly feel that ANY libs or Dems will allow themselves to be disenfranchised on election day and allow an R to win, or much less VOTE for a despised Republican? I don't.

There is a reason our guys are forced to resign in disgrace when they do something wrong, and their errant guys get standing ovations on the White House lawn or in congress.

I'll Take Yogi
I'd rather have Yogi Berra for President than Hellary Clinton. The most amazing thing of all is why so many deluded cretins are supporting the matron of America's First Family of Crime.

But of course...because they are deluded cretins.

New Hillary Parody
my blog

Questioning Hillary
One can only hope the Republican Presidential hopefuls, will ask not just one but all of Mr. Goldberg's questions posted in this Townhall blog.

Don't depend on the media for help
The complicity of the popular press in advancing the democrat cause guarantees overwhelmingly positive press. Stories unflattering to leading dems do not receive the placement, length, or period of coverage that similar stories about republicans do. That alone is a huge advantage to dems. Bill and Hillary have personally benefited from media disinterest in looking into their activities while the public retains an impression that republican scandals are far in excess of the democrats. The existence of moderate networks, conservative radio shows, and sites like this are all we have to counter it. No wonder the liberals want to pull that rug out.

Hillary is laughably unqualified for the presidency. She needs the office in a very unhealthy way and will say and do anything to get it. Who could look at her statements and figure out where she stands on any issue? What voter can say what the country would be getting with her in charge?

Where is a Jean Kilpatrick or Maggie Thatcher when you need her?

S.S.Hillary
Deemed to be unsinkable she was launched amidst much hoopla. Where they got that much hoopla I have no idea. But I digress. She was the answer to their dreams and when they looked upon her their hearts were gladdened. As she slipped her moorings and started that momentus journey all felt that nothing could stop her.

How will this story end? Will the iceberg get her? Will it be revealed that the iceberg's name is also Hillary? Will she be shown to be a poorly constructed craft incapable of delivering the goods? Will anyone exposing her faults live to the closing credits? Is it even safe for me to

One More
One more question: Why are you always wearing pants?

for Bob
Bob fears: "Good points about the gender gap and the national campaign. But I suspect that the coverage of the national campaign will ultimately prove to be just as fawning as the current coverage, if not more so."

But if Hillary can play the gender card, so can we.

We could send mailings out to every identified MALE voter, even Dem male voters. And ask them flat out: Do you really want to vote for the Presidency of the Vagina Monologues?

In my opinion, only Rudy and Fred would have sufficient killer instinct to use a ploy like that. Not Romney or Huckabee.

WHITE HOUSE & HILLARY
HRC White House papers will go public in ‘08

Does this depend of the definition release with a lawyer involved?

POLITICO-The Clinton library is readying a trove of detail about Hillary Rodham Clinton’s eight years as first lady in the White House for release in late January, government lawyers said in a court filing.

But Bill Clinton’s lawyer will have the final say on whether 10,000 pages of Hillary Clinton’s private White House “daily schedules” will be immediately released to the groups who requested her calendar under the Freedom of Information Act.

Even so, the documents appear likely to become public within a month of their release by the archives, as the general election heats up in February.

HILLARY
I AM READY FOR THE PRIMARIES. HILLARY IS SLIDING BY WITH THE EASE OF A SNAKE. IT IS TIME TO GET DOWN TO THE "nitty gritty" AND GET HER TRUE SELF OUT IN THE OPEN. NOT PRETTY!!!

questions 4 HRC
These are honest questions raised by Jonah. Considering the line of questions HRC recieved from Russert there is a possibilty there will be more tough questions for HRC or whoever wins the dem nomination. But one should not hold there breath. The msm has a strong history of bias towards anything colored liberal. This illustrates why dems are caught off guard when a tough and honest question is put forth to them.

Go-Go Dancer
The base image is ridiculous but HC is a Go-Go Dancer. Just give her the music and she'll dance to the tune being played. If the music be Rap she’ll do her rendition of Rap, if it is Country-Western she’ll demonstrate how to clog, if the music is Rock-N-Roll she’ll gyrate like the 60’s all over again waving her hands doing the Buggaloo.

The waltz, foxtrot or tango requires balance, partnership and sequence of steps to follow correctly. Go-Go Dancing is pure entertainment for sight and sound without substance. HC is a very good Go-Go Dancer; but, truthfully, a very boring Senator.

The Imperial Glare
Imperial Glare
I couldn't help laughing when I observed, as "The Cackler" was being brought to task during the so-called debate.

Did you notice that whenever one of the other candidates dared to speak out against her, what she did and why?

She “GLARED” at each one of them; she physically turned towards each of them as they challenged her inconsistent answers to Russet’s question(s)?! She WAS TRYING to intimidate them with the haughty IMPERIAL GLARE!

She is, don't you realize, the anointed one? She is the new “moocher eve (no caps).” She will make sure that we know, that she will provide all of us with what we all need or want; and, therefore she deserves gets the credit.

Our blessings will no longer come from God. We will need to thank the "cackler" from whom all blessings will flow.

We must not lose sight of the Clintons’ goals; rob the rich, give to the poor and everyone will be equal, and remain POOR. She has already told us that she has plans for MY future, YOUR future, your CHILDREN’S future and your GRANDCHILDREN’S future! We just don’t have enough money for her schemes, at least not yet. Certainly one of her goal’s will be to get rid of the “hated” military; that will provide some funds for her grandiose socialist future.

I still find it amazing that she is a serious candidate to be the Commander in Chief of a great nation that had men such as Washington, Lincoln, Teddy, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Reagan and YES George W. Bush. (Time will prove me right, just as time proved the greatness of Lincoln, Truman and the others. They all had their name-calling haters as those who know any history will verify. And don’t bother telling me what an evil traitor President Bush is; the haters are far and away more dangerous to the moral atmosphere that endangers this nation.)

SHE IS THE CLASSICAL PANDERER!

SHE IS THE CLASSICAL PANDERER!

oops
