Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

It's that time during an election year when political hooligans from coast to coast roam neighborhoods to steal campaign signs.

"Unfortunately, my 'McCain-Palin' sign was plucked from my front yard, never to be seen again," writes an Inside the Beltway reader from Democrat-heavy Northern Virginia. "Very distressing, since I am surrounded by a sea of 'Barack Obama' yard signs. One would think that resorting to theft would be unnecessary, but I guess not."

She's not alone. In fact, John McCain is finding his campaign signs stolen from his own backyard, so to speak. Arizona resident Mary Crowell, who lives in Tempe, told her local newspaper: "My neighbor recently gave me a McCain-Palin sign to post in my yard. He gave me one piece of advice along with it: that I take it down overnight."

Given workloads and limited manpower, police departments do issue warnings but seldom file criminal charges surrounding the theft or destruction of such campaign materials. A typical yard sign costs a political party about $2.50 to replace.

That said, police in Chambersburg, Pa., recently pulled over two people engaging in suspicious activity and found 22 stolen 'John McCain' signs and two flower pots in the car. Both individuals were taken into custody and their names released to the media.

CHUCK'S TAKE

Martial artist, screen actor, and right-leaning political advocate Chuck Norris tells Inside the Beltway that he is "disenchanted with everyone" in Washington, regardless of party affiliation.

"No one is solving the problem," says Mr. Norris, speaking as a "concerned citizen, and a father and a grandfather. I have seven children and eleven grandchildren, and I'm extremely worried as most people in America are about the direction our country is going.

"Unfortunately many politicians today have ... become disconnected from the will of the people, and that goes for the Republican side and the Democratic side."

Mr. Norris drew attention to the "bloated federal bureaucracy" in calling for a "fair tax," similar to one proposed by his earlier choice for president, former Arkansas Republican Gov. Mike Huckabee.

"I firmly believe that if we had a fair tax in this country, it would help turn the economy around," Mr. Norris said, counting "66,498 pages in the IRS tax code."

"Who in the world knows what's in all those pages? I mean, Charlie Rangel doesn't even know, and he writes the tax code. And he's in trouble," he noted.

Rep. Charles B. Rangel, New York Democrat and chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, is currently under the ethics microscope for failing to disclose and pay federal, state and local taxes on rental income.

'IDIOTIC' WAR

Inside the Beltway caught up Tuesday with Noel Koch, a lifelong Republican and Ronald Reagan-appointed assistant secretary of defense and director of planning at the Pentagon, who has become a founding member of Veterans for Obama.

Why the switch?

"I've got a 4-year-old grandson, and I want a safer world for him to grow up," replies Mr. Koch, who upon leaving the Pentagon in 1986 became president of Trans Secure, a global security firm based near Washington.

A Vietnam War veteran, who later became a special assistant to Richard Nixon, Mr. Koch has come out against the war in Iraq, labeling it "idiotic."

"John [McCain] insists we have to win this, but he doesn't say what constitutes a victory," he points out. "We've broken our military, wrecked the reserves, we're plowing through our National Guard, and these [troops] are coming back home ... to face malignant neglect, like when I came back from Vietnam.

"We don't have the resources to get through this war, and that's before the financial costs."

Having dealt with terrorism in his Pentagon post, Mr. Koch says U.S. policy once was "you solve the problem by dropping bombs on it. But every time we killed one [terrorist] we created 10 more. I know it's not politically correct to say, but we've got to look at the root causes."

As for now supporting a Democrat for the White House, having been a registered Republican since the late 1950s, Mr. Koch says Barack Obama "shows a steady hand, understands what he wants to achieve, and from the beginning he's made it clear he wants to run a clean campaign."

Mr. Koch obviously needs psychiatric
help! Obama is supposed to make this Country safer?? How, by turning us into a third world communist country?

The TRUTH
Koch suffers from PTS its a coward singing. The only war we ever lost was under JOHNSON a DEM. We tucked our tail between our legs and RAN. So Koch forgot how he is safe today BY WINNING NOT RUNNING!!!

Odinga Crimes
Why does no one expose Obama and Odinga connection?? That is a crime on taxpayers dime. Plus O' gave 1million to Odinga and is seen campaigning with him in KENYA!!!!!!! He is also his cousin and will proably deny it if confronted; like his friends AYERS,WRIGHT,RESKO.and ACORN. Know you when I need you then OH!!! he was just a guy in the Nighborhood!!! RIGHT!!!!!

Koch unhinged
Mr. Koch has Alzheimer's when he says...
"John [McCain] insists we have to win this, but he doesn't say what constitutes a victory,"

McCain has said repeatedly that we will leave in victory when Iraqi security and political systems are stable enough that the country doesn't dissolve into a pre-2001 Afghan like state. At this point Iraq is headed towards being a completely different model state than any of the other democracy-hostile entities currently in the Middle East. You can be sure if this US-friendly state occurs, Bush will still be labeled as evil by the MSM and the average leftist democrat.

Besides stealing signs, they put one in
my yard at night! I came out to get the paper on Sunday and found an Obama sign stuck in my yard, I flung it high into the trees as a neighbor walked by. She asked if they did that without my permission, and I told her not only without permission, without knowledge. It later floated down and was properly disposed of in the trash!

I wish that I had a garage, then I could put a Palin sticker on my vehicle, as it is, it would be keyed at least and probably have the windows busted if I were to be so brave. Obamaniacs are vicious cowards!

Mr. Koch...
Mr. Koch may have been a war veteran, a responsible adviser, and a serving politicians for Republicans but right now, his comments about Obama are erroneous. First, Mr. Obama is not honest, if he were, he would tell the American people what his real intentions are, but, of course, he knows better for if he did, he would have been disqualified long time ago. If he were honest, he would have accepted responsibility for his actions and "acquaintances" with certain questionable people. If he were honest, he would have put these accusations to rest by releasing personal information to the contrary.

Second, Mr. Obama is unqualified to lead this nation during these very trying times because he lacks knowledge and experience in foreign and national affairs. Third, Mr. Obama speaks of changes but the changes he proposes are "socialistic" in nature--and I don't mean of a social virtue. Fourth, if Mr. Obama were to become President--God forbid--he will send a strong message to the rest of the world that the U.S. is a weaken nation and will endanger the security and peaceful status not only of our nation but of the world. Mr. Obama speaks of "distribution of weath" but he is unclear how he is going to do so. We are living in very difficult times. No one wants to go to war. No one wants to have his/her children and grandchildren risk their lifes for preserving peace and national security of our land. But, everyone wants to live in a country that provides them. Freedom and Democracy are not a given. They must be protected at all cost. I just hope that the American people seriously evaluate the candidates before they vote on November 4th and vote for the candidate who has proven integrity, honesty, ethics, moral values, and experience--John McCain.

Chuck Norris???????
Anybody who puts stock in Chuck Norris' political views is a STONE COLD IDIOT.

campaign signs cars and yards
My neighborhood in Grapevine Tx stopped putting republican signs up last time around. As usual the Democrat signs go untouched...all two and the normal 50 plus republican signs either get ripped apart or stolen. We also don't put bumper sticker with a republican on them and make sure we park in our garages at night. I've been keyed in Florida(2000) and Texas (2004) and one lawn job in Florida in 2000 also. Local papers ignore the vandalism it would seem because their signs and cars go untouched. Both body shops told me they get far more cars keyed or doors kicked in on cars with republican stickers....they actually kept a tab over the years in a now closed shop in Pinellas Park Fl that went back to Reagan and it was consistant and increased over the years....

Noel Koch Obviously Does Not
know about the Obama-Ayres connection or the Obama-Odinga connection. As the speech writer that wrote the proposal to end the draft for Nixon, and then turned around and proposed that we reinstate the draft, I don't have much respect for his loyalties. Anyone who knows about the connection between Obama and Odinga could not possible support Obama for president. Does he know that during the NH primary, Obama was on the phone with Odinga helping Odinga with his political battles which resulted in Odinga being given the Prime Minister position.

If Obama wins, we will not recover from his presidency for decades.

Translation:
Input: "Anybody who puts stock in Chuck Norris' political views is a STONE COLD IDIOT."

Output: "I strongly dislike and disapprove of the views of the aforementioned individual, but cannot come up with a better way to express this than to gratuitously insult those who hold these views."

Oh, and Chopping Block? I think you have two words to many in your last sentance. Please kick those last two words out and end it at 'presidency'.

Signs
This weekend, after getting 4 phone calls from Obama supporters insisting that I was an Obama supporter I added a NOBAMA sign next
to my McCain/Palin sign. Well my 9YR. old helped me and as we put the sign up, a car honked and gave me a thumbs up. I was relieved because
when I put up the McCain sign I was cursed at and got got a different
digit (finger). Then moments later, 3 young voters came to my door and asked where they could get the sign for themselves. I gave them some bumper stickers and info. Monday morning I awoke to find the NOBAMA sign torn down. When I went to put it back I found that the "N"had been carefully cut out on both sides with scissors! In the last election my signs were destroyed every day. I had a stockpile and simply replaced them. This was a genuine attempt to deny my freedom of speech. I replaced the sign with an old support our troops sign i didn't have the heart to throw away. Richard Vienna Va.

It's the Dems...
who deny us our freedom of speech all the while caterwauling about how the religious right denies them theirs! I live in CA (regardless of my handle which often makes the trolls reveal themselves in all their bigoted glory) and I am debating about putting out a sign. I've had my car keyed twice while it sat in the parking garage where I worked and when I took off the conservative bumper sticker, I've never had it happen again.

It is always liberals who steal conservative newspapers from college campuses, who try to institute the "Fairness Doctrine" even while the tax supported radio and TV stations are blatantly liberal - why are we putting up with it? I'm telling you, folks - it's time to get really, really angry and vote out ALL incumbents. Washington is a cesspool and we need to sanitize it immediately, starting this election. It will take a few elections to get rid of all of them and then we'll probably have to start over, but the message would soon resonate with the lying, cheating, self-absorbed types who populate the Beltway - go against the people at your own risk.

It is hard to blame American voters

for being more interested in their economic situation than Obama, Jr.'s nefarious past. For that reason, we should help our undecided friends understand that Junior promises higher taxes, bigger government and less personal freedom.

A simple economic fact is that government taxation and spending cannot create jobs or generate economic growth. In fact, government taxation and spending stifles job creation and economic growth by reducing investment capital available to the private sector where jobs and economic growth are created.

If your friends are uncertain about Junior's character, by all means give them the facts on Rezko, Ayers, Rev. Wright and ACORN. But I think more of your friends will be interested in the economic ramifications of Junior's policies.

P.S. Do not waste your time communicating about the election with Obama, Jr. supporters. By their very support, they have disclosed either their ignorance or their desertion of the use of reason. Speaking to them about politics is a waste of time.

Issues your undecided friends may not

know BHO's positions on:

he wants to increase taxes

he wants to grow government

he wants to reduce individual freedoms

he wants to appoint judges who rule based on their feelings instead of written law

he wants unrestricted abortion, including partial-birth abortion

he wants to advance the practice of same-sex sodomy

he wants more restrictive gun controls

he wants to surrender in Iraq

he wants to weaken the U.S. militarily.

Most undecideds wonder about one or more of these BHO policy positions. Educate them and if it is his past, help them understand the Ayers, Rezko, Rev. Wright and ACORN connections also.

Joseph Hussein Obama Stalin
Stealing or defacing political siqns may not seem like a big deal, but the people who do that are the types of people Obama will surround himself with once he has won the Presidency.

Obama is a modern day Joseph Stalin and these thugs are his jack booted leg-breakers. They, like Obama, have no respect for opposing points of view. Put a gun in their hands and they would have no compunction about blowing out the brains of any Obama dissenter ... just like Uncle Joe's buddies.

Communists, like Obama, always work the same way. They convince the poor, the low paid and the mentally deficient that their lives would be a bed of roses if only "the man" was stripped of his possessions and redistributed to them. Once the Communists have secured their power, these poor schlubs are among the first to be rounded up and eliminated. After all, they really don't contribute much to the communist collective anyway.

With an Obama presidency, a Democrat Congress and Senate, and a roomful of cowering, trembling Republicans, Obama and his communist allies will be free to make sure that no Conservative ever gets too up-ity.
