Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

"A Conservative is a fellow who is standing athwart history yelling 'Stop!'” -- William F. Buckley

During the first World War, Kaiser Wilhelm supposedly referred to the British troops as a "contemptible little army." The British soldiers, rather than ignoring the insult of their enemy, adopted the nickname of the "Old Contemptibles" and then proceeded to fight the Kaiser's men to a standstill until eventually the United States entered the war and the Allied Powers were able to march onward to victory.

There's a lesson there for the Republican Party.

The GOP has spent eight years fudging the differences between the Republican and Democrat parties. In large part, that's why the American people tossed the Republican Party out on its collective behind: given a choice between Democrats and Democrat-lite, they chose the real thing.

Now, after being referred to as "The Party of No," the GOP should embrace that label instead of running from it. Yes, we have plenty of solutions, but before they can be implemented, Barack Obama has to be stopped -- he has to fail. Wanting Barack Obama to fail is like wanting someone who's trying to beat your child to death with a shovel to fail. You want him to fail because you love your child and we want Barack Obama to fail because we love this country.

Towards that end, the Republican Party needs to clearly, loudly, and unambiguously say "No" to...

Closing Gitmo: We don't want to close a prison for terrorists without knowing what we're going to do with them. The idea that the President of the United States might actually release terrorists trained by Al-Qaeda into the general population of the United States, which is something Eric Holder has openly discussed, is beyond-the-pale. The President of the United States is supposed to keep terrorists out of this country, not bring them here. Continued...

"You need to get a grip. . .there is a very good reason why 56-60% of the Americans who voted in the last election, voted for Obama. . .they wanted a CHANGE from republican antics and mismanagement of the economy and government and relief from the high priced lobbist for the corporations."

-27.8% of the eligible populace voted for 0.
-51.3% of those who voted, did so for 0.

"Obama was my second choice; but I am willing to give him a chance to clean up Dubya's mess. You should to. . .I don't like a lot to things, but what the writer of this dribble is doing is a continuation of the attitude that got the GOP into the minority status it now enjoys."

-What mess? The mortgage issue? Started, strengthened, and completely owned by Democrats. Starting with the creation of Fannie Mae by FDR. James Earl Carter and William Jefferson Clinton are equaly culpable.

"You go on being the party of NO; most of us will vote for something akin to YES, WE CAN. . .clean this mess up and bring sanity back to our daily lives."

Yes, you can, run up the greatest defecit and debt in history. Yes, you can, make America the weakest it has ever been. Yes, you can, deny the fact that liberal policies have NEVER worked. Yes, you can, move America towards some delusional eutopia of socialism.

Over my dead body. I am sworn to support and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, both foreign AND domestic.

Yes, I called you an idiot, because that is what you are.

If you don't think Obama is more of a liberal than Clinton, then you area complete fool. I am under illusion that the GOP is a bunch of saints, but at least with them, we have somewhat of a chance to get conservative ideals pushed, and liberal ideals defeated.

You cut off your nose to spite your face, nothing more. You are even worse than a liberal.
