Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

So far, because the mainstream media is smitten with him, Barack Obama has been able to get by running a campaign based on hope, change, unity, love, and rainbows made of cuddly kittens.

However, before we get around to coronating Barack as our new President/Cult of Unity Leader, there are a few questions he should have to answer before America starts drinking his Kool-Aid.

Granted, many members of our esteemed press seem to consider it crass to expect Obama to actually answer questions about unimportant things like his agenda, his character, and what he actually wants to do when he becomes the leader of the free world. That's why he would probably get away with doing what slick politicians like him always do when they're asked tough questions: lie, misdirect, and dodge.

But still, wouldn't it be great if there were some members of the mainstream media that at least had enough integrity to ask him the tough questions in the first place? Ok, you can stop laughing now. Let me put it another way: if there are any Hillary Clinton fans in the press who'd like to help derail Obama so that your preferred liberal candidate can win, start putting questions like these to him:

* You've made unifying the American public and putting our political divisions behind us one of the central themes of your campaign. Yet, National Journal ranked you as the single most liberal senator in 2007. So, which liberal beliefs of yours are you willing to give up for unity's sake?

* Along the same lines, John McCain has been behind numerous pieces of prominent bi-partisan legislation. So, if voters are looking for a candidate who can unify the country, wouldn't he be a better choice than you?

* If you didn't agree with Jeremiah Wright's racist and anti-American views, why did you take your own children to his church and expose them to what he had to say?

* If I may steal a question from Peter Weher, "With which elements, if any, of black liberation theology — as represented by Reverend Wright and Trinity United Church of Christ — do you strongly disagree? Do you think any of the core tenets of black liberation theology are racist?"

* Could black voters trust a white candidate to fairly represent their interests even if he attended an anti-black church and was close friends with a prominent white minister who was famously hostile to black Americans?

* John Conyers has said that he intends to "move legislation that could lead the federal government to apologize for slavery and pay reparations" if you become President. Would you support that legislation?

* Given our budget deficit, how can you justify giving away 845 billion dollars of our tax money to other nations over the next 13 years via your Global Poverty Act?

* In 2004, you said that you opposed the Defense of Marriage Act, which is designed to keep gay marriage from being imposed on the country by judicial fiat. Do you think the American people and their representatives should have a right to decide whether or not they want gay marriage in their states? If the answer is "yes," how can you possibly square that with your opposition to the Defense of Marriage Act?

* Given that you're pro-partial birth abortion, would you support overturning the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003?

* You claim to support the 2nd Amendment, but why should people believe you when, in 1996, you supported "banning the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns?"

* Many people believe your plan for Iraq would be viewed as a huge victory for Al-Qaeda in much of the world, would lead to the collapse of democracy in that country, would boost Iran's standing in the region, and would lead to genocide on a massive scale. Do you believe that those things won't happen or do you believe that those are prices we should be willing to pay to leave Iraq?

* You've often spoken about what the positive effects of pulling out of Iraq will be, but what do you think the negative consequences of your choice to lose the war in Iraq will be?

* Given that we're fighting a war on terror, why do you think it's appropriate for you to continue to personally associate with terrorists like William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn who bombed buildings on American soil, attempted to murder Army officers, and even today, publicly say that they have no regrets about their actions?

* Can you give a more convincing explanation for why you no longer wear a flag pin and why you famously chose not to hold your hand over your heart for our National Anthem?

* Your campaign has suggested that you should receive half the delegates from the state of Michigan even though your name wasn't even on the ballot. Given that your supporters helped thwart a re-vote, isn't that extraordinarily hypocritical, arrogant, and undemocratic of you?

* Given your past history of using cocaine, which is extremely addictive, would you be willing to regularly take drug tests during the campaign and when you're in the White House to insure Americans that you're not still using?

* You claimed that you "never saw or approved" an "Illinois voter group's detailed questionnaire" that had you taking some embarrassingly liberal stands "on gun control, the death penalty and abortion." You chalked up those answers on the questionnaire to an overzealous aide. Yet, it turned out that you were blatantly lying and were actually interviewed for the questionnaire and even sent in your own handwritten notes. So, if you're willing to tell such a bald-faced lie to cover up your liberal positions, why should the American people believe you now when you claim, on issue after issue, to have flip flopped to a more moderate position than you held just a few years back?

* You personally, along with your campaign, have continuously and consistently lied and claimed that John McCain wants to fight a war in Iraq for the next 100 years. However, what he actually said -- and has repeated many times is, "Maybe (we'll be in Iraq for) 100 (years)...We've been in Japan for 60 years, we've been in South Korea for 50 years, that'd be fine with me as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed." Why have you continued to knowingly lie about this issue and why should voters trust what you say if you're going to deliberately try to mislead them in this fashion?

* After engaging in a crooked land deal with Tony Rezko, a man who donated $10,000 from (an) alleged kickback scheme to your campaign, how can voters trust you to act in an ethical fashion in the White House?

* According to an April 23, 2007 article from the Chicago Sun-Times called "Barack Obama and his slumlord patron, "Obama, who has worked as a lawyer and a legislator to improve living conditions for the poor, took campaign donations from Rezko even as Rezko's low-income housing empire was collapsing, leaving many African-American families in buildings riddled with problems -- including squalid living conditions, vacant apartments, lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers." Do you have any regrets about teaming up with a slumlord to further your own political career on the backs of the very poor people you claimed to be helping?

20 Questions
Excellent piece Mr. Hawkins!

Here is another question for Obama:

Why do you call yourself Black when actually you are 50% White, 43.75% ARAB and 6.25% African?

For more information on this go to: http://www.kennethelamb.blogspot.com and read Mr. Lamb's piece titled "Washington Post, Chicago Tribune Investigations.......

Great Article
Now who is actually going to have the access to ask these questions to the "chosen one"?

BTW, why does everyone keep saying he is such a good speaker? I've heard him several times, with an open mind, and I am not moved in any way. He sounds like he's reading for books on CD. I guess people are so gullible and uneducated that they take his speeches as being inspiring. When he doesn't have notes in front of him he speaks worse that Bush and the bobble-head HRC.

I guess we can thank the indoctrination campuses across the country for this.

QUESTIONS FOR OBAMA
GREAT ARTICLE! SAD THING IS, THERE IS NOT ONE NEWSCASTER WITH THE BALZ TO ASK THESE QUESTIONS WITH THE POSSIBLE EXCEPTION OF LOU DOBBS OF CNN. MSNBC IS OBAMA'S CHEERLEADING TEAM! I WOULD ADD ONE QUESTION THOUGH. SENATOR OBAMA, WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER LARRY SINCLAIR'S ALLEGATIONS OF YOUR 1999 DRUG USE?

Obama's brilliant oratory?
Anyone else out there notice that Obama's "ringing oratory" and "flowing cadences" desert him whenever he isn't reading a canned speech off a teleprompter, especially if he's being asked uncomfortable questions?

I agree with "Conservative Artist" that when Obama isn't reading Ted Baxter-like off that teleprompter, he's no more articulate than Bush.

Two more questions for Obama:

Why do you think your close, 20-year association with Wright should not disqualify you from high office when you opposed judicial nominees for far more tenuous associations (like membership in a country club that didn't allow women members 30 years ago)?

Why do you object to the use of "snippets" (selected for sale as videos by your own church) of Wright's hate speech to characterize his views when you twisted the words of one or two decisions (out of thousands) to mischaracterize the views of judicial nominees Leslie Southwick and Janice Rogers Brown(ironically a black sharecropper's daughter who had to go to segregated schools)?

Glass House
Is it because you see the writing on the wall? That you are asking these silly questions of Obama here are a few topics you should ask the one you voted for.

"in the 110th Congress, out of 450 votes, McCain missed 56.7% of them. The only one who missed more was a senator who had a brain hemmorhage."
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/02/mccain-miss es-k.html

"McCain, frontrunner for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, received a zero score from the League of Conservation Voters for his congressional voting record on environmental issues in 2007."
http://environment.about.com/od/environmentallawpolicy/a/mc cain_zero.htm

Shouldn't he be #1? Just asking...

"Why would McCain help a man like Charles Keating Jr.? For those who don’t remember Keating ran the Lincoln Savings & Loan and was misusing and stealing money from his bank. We, the taxpayers, had to bail out the bank once it went under. We were stuck paying $2.8 billion of our hard earned tax money to bail this bank out and all Charles Keating Jr. got was a slap on the wrist while he continued to live a wealthy and luxurious life. Thanks John McCain for screwing us, the American people, and helping rich criminals like Keating out."
http://beertap.wordpress.com/2008/03/29/mccain-the-candidat e-of-double-speak-scandal/

The last one is pretty good you fellas should check it out.

Let's ask mcInsane, too!
Chickenhawkins: " Given our budget deficit, how can you justify giving away 845 billion dollars of our tax money to other nations over the next 13 years via your Global Poverty Act?
--------------------
Cheaper than your failed elective war, Chickenhawkins.

Keating Five
Chickenhawkins: "After engaging in a crooked land deal with Tony Rezko, a man who donated $10,000 from (an) alleged kickback scheme to your campaign, how can voters trust you to act in an ethical fashion in the White House?
-----------------------
Keating Five. In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king ... and even the Trib cleared Obama of this pseudo-scandal.

So far, he's by far the cleanest pol we have.

One question for Chickenhawkins
If you believe in this elective war so much, how come you aren't over there fighting?

Question #21
Given the need to unite and get rid of partisan politics, why did Obama vote against confirmation of John Roberts for the Supreme Courth even though he was more than qualified?

Exxon-Mobil
Nurse: "I WOULD ADD ONE QUESTION THOUGH. SENATOR OBAMA, WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER LARRY SINCLAIR'S ALLEGATIONS OF YOUR 1999 DRUG USE?
----------------------
Why doesn't don Juan Senile mcSame answer B-1 Bob Dornan's accusation that he was a traitor in Viet Nam with the release of documents? At least, that is an accusation which can be proven or disproven.

No way that Sinclair is telling the truth. He looks like "Larry the Cable Guy."

Question N. 21
...and what's with the purple lips?

Seriously. That has me really stomped.

Great questions
A truthful answer to any one of which will disqualify this snake-oil salesman from being POTUS.

As a 20 year Navy veteran, I am particularly disgusted by his refusal to wear the flag, he has no reverance for the blood shed and sacrifices made over the entire history of this country that allow him to run for president.

His liberal supporters have no appreciation of that as well and many ,like his wife and that fool wright, actually hate this country.
The man is a wolf in sheeps clothing, a socialist at best who will destroy our way of life, funded by that despicible excuse for a human being Soros and his ilk, who are so afraid of Mccain they are spending 40 million to promote lies about him to defeat him and get their puppet elected. These people want to destroy this country to get their one world agenda, obama is their way to do it.

The American people will see through this, they respect service and character and will elect McCain over this clown in a landslide.

Obama's Wright Claim
You said that rev Wright has backed off of his racist rants. Can you show us the evidence?

Exxon-Mobil vs Planned Parenthood

Beastie Boy
Your silly little ad hominem attacks against the author merely serve to magnify the fact that your comments are bereft of substance. Your contention that veracity is linked to personal appearance demonstrates that sad fact.

Beastie Boy
How many times must I smack you down over the "elective war" stuff? We signed a ceasefire in 91 with Saddam's government. In the 12 years after that, he broke the terms many times (acknowledged by Bill Clinton when he launched airstrikes and cruise missile attacks during his Administration). The ceasefire accord called for a reforming of the Desert Storm Coalition and the removal of Saddam's government from power if the terms were broken by Saddam. It was, therefore, not an elective war, but rather an obligation under international law.

What claims of traitorous actions by McCain are there that are credible? None. I don't like the guy, but he served with honor in Vietnam. If he had been traitorous, he'd have been released a long time before he actually was, and he would have been denounced by the two senior POWs, Jim Stockdale and Jeremiah Denton.

Obama on Bill Clinton
Obama was asked if Bill Clinton was the first Black President:
-------------------------------------------------
"I would have to...investigate more of Bill's dancing abilities, you know, and some of this other stuff before I accurately judge whether he was in fact a brother."

B. Obama

Part 2
If BHO raises taxes on the oil companies, what will that accomplish?
a) It will reduce the dividends that the stockholders get, since they are the real owners. Many of those stockholders have oil as part of their mutual funds and retirement funds. Many of those funds are part of UNION plans, so he will be hurting the middle class folks.
b) The folks running the company will pass the extra taxes on to the consumers, so prepare to see regular unleaded at $4.25.
c) Research and development funds within those companies will dry up some. So much for cleaner fuel products coming out anytime soon.

you people are nuts
You dig up a couple of items on McCain and claim its the same as Obama.

Obama has only been in Washington for a few years, McCain has been there for 25 years or so.

And if McCain gets a zero rating from Enviro-groups thats a plus, not a minus. AGW is a hoax, its a shame McCain *has* put some credence on that junk-science and its mindless lemmings.

Breaking news
A major poll just showed BO losing his 10 point lead over McCain, who now is statistically even against both Hillary and BO. So much for those who think the Jeremiah Wright business didn't hurt BO with the general electorate. And because of the reluctance to admit you wouldn't vote for a black man, this could be just the tip of the iceberg. With help from Operation Chaos, Hillary might be able to make something of this. To use the troll's favorite intellectual argument...ROTFLMAO LOL LOL LOL

Obama and deign
deign = to condescend reluctantly and with a strong sense of the affront to one's superiority that is involved.
-------------------------------------------------
“Barack is one of the smartest people you will ever encounter who will deign to enter this messy thing called politics.”

Michelle Obama

Obama -> Bumper stickers

Abortion = compassion

Self determination = Government clients

Well, she ought to know just how messy the thing is.

Obama : No Good for America
Hillary picked up three super-delegates yesterday. With a recent poll showing her up 3% against McCain, versus Obama being statistically tied with McCain, perhaps a new trend will start. Maybe the Dems are starting to realize that Hillary will be a tougher opponent than Kumbaya Obama. I applaud her scorched earth campaign as is - if Hillary loses the Democratic nomination, she will make sure Obama doesn't win the general election. Then she can run again in 2012.

Fiddler: "Your silly little ad hominem attacks against the author
-----------------------------
You mean, the same ones Chickenhawkins employs?

What's fair for the goose is fair for the gooser.

If BO is to be painted with the stain of hypocrisy, why not Chickenhawkins?

I'll answer them
Obama could probably do better, but I'll answer your questions John:

1) Unity doesn't mean giving up your positions. It means treating the other side with respect and not intentionally distorting your opponents views. It doesn't mean there won't be disagreements. It doesn't mean that one side won't be victorious over the other. But it does mean that, even the loser feels like they got a fair shake.

2) McCain has actually done a fair job at reaching across the aisle. I guess that's why he's so despised by the far right.

3) I know most of you righties believe that Dr. Wright says GD America in every sermon he gives. But aren't you starting to get a little suspicious that we haven't seen more examples than the two or three we've seen? Medved said he has read dozens of his sermons, yet he hasn't provided us with any other examples of Wright's "Anti-Americansim". Could it be because there aren't any other examples? Could it be that that speech was an aberration? So maybe he brought his children there because that wasn't what he heard in the church. Is that possible John?

4) No one who knows Obama, or has read his books, could possibly believe that he is a racist.

5) Has it totally escaped your attention, John Hawkins, that white people have a history of oppressing blacks in this country? Given that, is it not understandable that blacks would harbor some anger and resentment toward whites, while it's incomprehensible for whites to feel the same towards blacks. You can't substitute "white" for "black" without taking the context into account.

to be continued

worried about the wrong thing......
SINCE YOU ARE CONVINCED THAT HE WILL NOT MAKE IT THEN WHY ARE YOU SPENDING SO MUCH TIME TRYING TO MAKE SURE THAT WHITE PEOPLE DO NOT CROSS OVER AND VOTE FOR HIM ALLOWING THIS BLACK MAN TO WIN.

What you need to focus on right now is those 416 little girls and 189 women that have been brutally abused by white men and getting welfare checks to boot.

Also focus on your other white teenage girls that are rather violent. Probably listening to you and parents like you have created a entire generation of violent, clueless white americans that will continue to focus on black vs white while you children are being hurt right in your homes.

Beastie Boy
You can not refute Hawkins statements by attacking him personally, even if his own attacks on BO are personal. You refute Hawkins by presenting facts in opposition to his statements. You can not defend charges that BO is racist by saying someone else is racist too, just as it would be unfair to claim BO is crooked and incompetent just because Kwame Kilpatrick is. Your use of "fair for the goose, fair for the gander" does not apply. If your opponent is using erroneous tactics, it does not strengthen your position by using the same irrelevant actions.

Radical Roots - Saul Alinsky/Barack
To what extent are your political beliefs influenced by Saul Alinsky and the training your received from his Industrial Area's Foundation?

Obama’s campaign information talks about how he worked as a “community activist”. This does not mean that he worked for the Boys and Girls Clubs, tutored underprivileged kids, or taught in inner city schools. No, Senator Obama was trained by the Industrial Areas Foundation, a radical group founded by Saul Alinsky. He worked for the Gamaliel Foundation, where he used the Alinsky method. This foundation has as its' number one objective promoting immigrants rights -- see the website -- http://www.gamaliel.org/default.htm

A little background on Alinsky --in books like “Rules for Radicals”, he preached that the end justifies the means, and that radicals should not reveal their true beliefs when they are organizing. Once in power, of course, they can implement the social justice agenda that the rest of us are just a little to stupid to understand. In our area, IAF has aligned itself with a radical church group and is promoting policies which encourage the influx of illegal immigrants to our town. They are doing very well, I’m afraid. I’m surprised that no one has questioned Senator Obama about his association with IAF, the Gamaliel Foundation, and his belief in Alinsky's ideas. See the attached article.

6) Obama has repeatedly said that he is opposed to reparations.

7) This 845 billion dollars seems to have been pulled from some wacko conservative's butt. One clue that it's nonsense might be that Obama's bill is so-sponsered by Chuck Hagel.

Hint: World Nut Daily, as Michael Medved calls it, is not a credible source of news.

Try looking at what the bill actually outlines:

http://obama.senate.gov/press/071211-obama_hagel_can/

8) Obama is opposed to gay marriage, but he is for civil unions. Seems like a reasonable compromise to me. But I'm sure Mr. Hawkins would disagree because, like so many conservatives, he probably believes that, if gays are allowed to marry, everyone will turn gay and the institution of marriage would instantly dissolve.

#21
Exactly what makes you think you have the qualifications to be President of the United States? (Other than the empty rhetoric?)

Beastie and traitorous actions
"Craw: "What claims of traitorous actions by McCain are there that are credible?
--------------------
They come from a former United States Congressman and United States Senator. Certainly, that is one heck of a lot better than the claims of "Larry the Cable Guy" Sinclair."

I'm still waiting for them. What traitorous actions?
I haven't said anything about someone named Sinclair. I referenced Stockdale and Denton (a former Congressman as well).

Mr. Hawkins
I think you just gave the RNC their entire battery of commercials for this Presidential election season. Each question gets 1 commercial, and you don't accuse Obama of anything. Just simply ask the question.

Of course, the RNC is way too stupid to not see such a gift. (OT: Do any of really think Karl Rove was/is a political genius? Look at his adversaries.)

Obama Will:
1. Raise taxes.
2. Support reparations.
3. Continue to support abortion and government funded abortion.
4. Lie when it suits his cause to do so. Lying for liars is easy.
5. Be in bed with the most radical elements of the left--People like George Soros will have a powerful influence on his tenure as President.
6. Be divisive-I and many like me, already despise him and we will not change.
7. Promote racism by his actions. Give aways, reparations, special programs all serve to feed racism.
8. End the war in Iraq and cozy up to Iran. He has said he will and I believe him in this instance.
9. Support the environmentalist at precisely the wrong time in our history.
10. Support the restrictions sought by the "Global Warming" fruitcakes.
11. Legitimize Gays in all facets of American life to include the Armed Forces.
12. Socialism will take a huge step into each of our pocketbooks and we all know once there, removal is virtually impossible.
13. The economy will magically improve because our economy is manipulated. What we see now is a false economy created to scare and promote the Democrat Party.
This is a short partial list of the rot he will inflict on us. Anyone with any intelligence would never vote for Obama. Those living in the mythical Land of Oz might and unfortunately there are too many of them and that is dangerous.

Ceasefire
It was with the Coalition, and was later ratified by the UN. Nice try, though. Here's a hint: don't try to debate military stuff with those of us who are active or retired military. It will just increase your losing percentage in debates.

Answers to answers
1. Unity means finding agreement. This is why there are 2 parties. BO cannot create unity. Perhaps he can be victorious and make the other side feel like they got a fair shake. That wopuld be progress. If Hillary should win, do you believe the black community would feel they got a fair shake. Vice vera? He is mis-using the word unity.
2. McCain and the far right have nothing to do with BO reaching across the aisle. Would he or would he not?
3. Black Liberation Theology, by its very title is racist. If Wright believes what he is saying he is racist. If not, he is preaching to the choir, a polite way of saying lying for money. As for examples, let's see some tapes of Wright's preaching for unity, for Christian forgiveness, for burying the past, for brotherhood of man, not brotherhood of blacks.
4. One can say anything in a book or speech. Since i don't know BO, i have to evaluate what little i know of the whole man. His actions speak louder than words.
5. I care no more for the history of Bo's ancestors than he cares about mine. I have no more responsibility for the circumstances of his ancestors than he has for mine. If he is feeling pain over things that took place previous to his birth, i commensurate. I do not join him.

to continue
9) It's a ridiculous lie to say that Obama is "pro" partial birth abortion. He simply argues that abortion is a decision that should be left up to the individual rather than the government making the decision.

Here's Obama in his own words on the subject:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCifpbfQlOM

10) I'll come back to this one after I do some research.

11) Al Queda is not going to take over Iraq. the Iraqis don't like them any more than we do. Besides Obama has repeatedly stated that he would leave troops behind to fight groups like al Queda. The fact is, we have finite resources and we have to choose how to use them wisely. Gen. Petreous, when asked, said that our resources would be more wisely spent going after al Queda in Pakistan, where bin Laden is, then fighting al Queda in Iraq. I'll put the question back to you: How long should we continue to sacrifice 1000 soldiers and $150 billion dollars a year to make sure Iraqi's don't kill each other? And as far as Iran goes: We should've thought of those consequences before we went in. There is no way we can prevent Iran from having influence on Iraq.

12) Yes, there might be some negative consequences to pulling out of Iraq. As Obama has said repeatedly: We have no good options. We have bad options and worse options. Bush's strategy is to pretend we're making progress and that success is just around the corner. Then, when things go bad, as they probably will, he can blame it on the president who actually had the guts to make a decision about what to do.

13) Obama doesn't personally associate with those people. From what I've heard, they've been seen together before. That doesn't mean anything. And come on. Does anyone seriously believe that Obama is secretly an anti-American terrorist or something? What nonsense. Hannity is becoming such a joke.

to continue
14) Seriously. The flag pin deal? You have to wear a flag on your a lapel or not a patriot? What garbage! And there is video of Obama holding his hand over his heart for the pledge of allegiance. He was taught that, you put your hand on your heart during the pledge, but that you sing during the national anthem. I noticed at a recent Twins game that people did not put their hands on their hearts; they sang. So get a grip. The very fact that Mr. Hawkins repeated this well debunked story shows how brainwashed he is by right wing media.

15) He suggested splitting the delegates as a solution that would allow the delegates to be seated at the convention. He only proposed this after MI decided they would not do a revote. (Are all right wingers this ridiculously ill-informed about Obama?)

16) Oh brother. The cocaine thing? Bush has done way more coke than Obama.

17) You've got this story totally wrong John. Do a little more research. Just because Obama's hand writing on the questionnaire, doesn't mean he filled out the questionnaire. The campaign stands by the assertion that an aide filled out the questionnaire and said some things that Obama has consistently been opposed to. He has not flip-flopped. Only ill-informed people like Mr. Hawkins assert that.

Beastality boy
I think you are a cowardly chichen with a one celled brain.

If Hussein should be elected, i'll be the first to laugh at your moronic "brain" output.

the oblahma and questions
of course he isn't about to answer any questions. When you can't give plausible answers you avoid the questions. He is now telling of his great basketball skills as if that enriches his weak resume. If america needed a great basketball player with a great personality they would turn to magic johnson to be the next president. The oblahma has yet to put any substance to his pollyanna campaign. But like all libs they immediately act as if answering questions is some mode of attack. The notion that using the oblahma's middle name is a racist attack continues to point to the shallowness of his campaign. If the obl;ahma wants the questions to go away, they let him answer them instead of ignoring them.

silly
Why do you claim that Obama has never answered questions which he has answered in detail? He sat for an hours long meeting with the Chicago press about the Rezko matter answering every question they have. He has talked about his relationship with Wright in more detail than most politicians discuss their relationships with their pastors.

Given that Bush has admitted to being an alcoholic with a drinking problem into his 40's did you think Bush should have been tested periodically? Or was the cocaine question designed to make yourself look like a jackass?

to continue
18) McCain has repeatedly stated that it would be fine with him if we are in Iraq for 100 years. That's not a lie. It's on tape.

19) Obama sat in a room with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune and agreed to answer every question they had about Resko. He was there for over 90 minutes. Afterward, the board said that he had satisfactorily answered all questions about the deal. By the way. Resko offered to sell a sliver of his property to Obama at a discount but Obama insisted on paying the assessed value of the strip of land. Obama has never been charged with doing anything unethical, or illegal. If there were something shady about it, we would all know about it. Believe me.

20) Obama has repeatedly stated that he regrets his limited involvement with Resko. He regrets it because, even though he did nothing unethical or illegal, it was politically stupid.

John Hawkins, may I suggest you start looking at something other than right wing propaganda outlets for your news. Wow are you misinformed! Your ignorance abounds.

Phylo out.

Simply Make Obama Read Constitution and
Amendments and ask questions from there. Ask him where it is found that the Fed goverment that is already 75 trillion dollars in debt has to pay for universal health care? Then ask where the $ will come from? When he says the rich, ask him where in those documents does it say the rich are required to belly up an unfair share of thier income compare to those its reapportioned to? Then just keep the line of Constitutional questions coming and see how many UNconstitutional answers spew. Make your choice from there. The sad part is we are already a socialist nation and the current choice will be the faster road to pure socialism with Obama or the slower road with McCain.

Obama not Tested like others
McCain takes hits where Obama dodges bullets. It is clear to Hillacrats and Republicans that Obama has not been challenged on these big questions. Yes, the Wright and Rezko scandals keep him busy, but those are also self-created messes. To say that McCain deserves the same tough questions is laughable. The guy is having his feet held to the fire within his own party, let alone Democrats. Obama is being shielded like a child whose parents always tell him that he's a "special child". We all know what happens to children who grow up thinking the world revolves around them. The stumble often. In the end, the treatment of Obama by the press, will do this country no favors.

If Obama is so capable, then why hasn't he sat down once on the most-highly watched cable channel? I call it, playing safe.

Phylo
You haven't addressed the first question so why move to the other 19? The question was not asking the definition of "unity" or how people would "feel" about it, the question was what is Mr. Obama willing to sacrafice in order to achieve unity.

If you and I disagree over an issue and both of us honestly want to reach a compromise, unity, we must each be willing to give up something in order to come to common ground. That was the question, on what is Mr. Obama willing to concede and how much. I would also ammend that question slightly by asking him what concessions he would expect to be made in return.

He is selling himself as the "Unifier", as such I believe this is a fair question.

Just another Socialist...
great article...I have many more questions...like how can anyone who supports Partial-Birth Abortion be a Christian???

This guy is going to ruin our healthcare system. Too bad people are so blinded by these hollywood types.

The alternatives aren't much better but I think the Dems are most dangerous!

Answers to answers, cont
6. Reparations. He says he is against them. No reason not to believe him, but no reason to believe him either. Given the record of politicians and promises, i'm wary.
7. Whatever the amount for Global Poverty its too much. Bush's increase in AID's funds to Africa is too much. Charity begins at home and foreign aid is an expensive and incompetent foreign policy crutch.
8. You say he is against gay marriage. So why oppose the Defense of Marriage act? I have nothing against civil unions.

It's up to the individual to decide????
If it's up to the individual to decide if they want partial birth abortion, then:
1. Why is murder of a pregnant woman prosecuted as 2 murders?
2. Why isn't it up to the individual to decide if they want to own a gun or smoke a cigarette?

I think most peoples favorable view of him is colored...I would rather have Condoleeza if we need a black president. She is brilliant and not just a smooth speaker!

Michigan and Florida were both told by the Democrat High Command that if they moved their primaries up that all bets would be off.

I would say instead of splitting votes, let these delegates go to the convention uncommited and cast their votes on the floor as they see fit.

Rob
You want me to provide evidence that Obama isn't a rascist?

Sure, right after you provide me with evidence that you're not a child molester.

And I didn't say blacks are "special". You know damn well what I meant by that. Don't be daft.

And yes, Rob, one can write notes on a questionnaire without filling it out. The fact is, the answers on the questionnaire did not reflect his long held policy positions.

And saying that wearing a flag on one's lapel is a cheap form of patriotism is a perfectly respectable response. Do you honestly think the politicians with a flag on their lapel are more patriotic. Michael Medved has said that Obama is a patriot. Do you not believe him either?

I would agree on letting the cocaine use issue rest, but the comment that you make that Bush did it more than Obama now makes your arguement seem childish. For one, how do you know exactly which one of them has done more of one thing than the other and for another it sounds like the school yard excuse that "Johnny did it too".

9. My position is that fetuses and paternal rights are entitled tosome level of legal protection, besides being a decision for an individual. 3 people are involved here. A ban on abortion in the last trimester seems merely a good start to me.
10. If he supports the 2nd amendment, it will be the first non knee jerk liberal position he holds.
11 and 12. Moot so far as i am concerned. No one knows what will happen if we leave or stay in for that matter. In this case, if it works, i was for it.
13. Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas. I would feel a lot more comfortable if he hung out with patriotic libs like Kurt Vonnegut, for example.

Only a moron would believe that Obama is saying that he wants everyone to believe the same thing. You're using an extreme definition of unity. People can disagree and still be on the same team working towards the same broader goals. The fact is, before the right in this country started getting on the radio and telling everyone how evil liberals are, this country was much more unified than it is today. We were all Americans. These days, family members can't even talk to each other about politics. All Obama wants to do is get back to the days when we all considered ourselves Americans. And he believes that the way to do that is by respecting the other said and not always assuming the worst about them. You know, like not jumping down someone's throat because they don't wear a flag on their lapel for God's sake. We can disagree without being disagreeable. Or at least we should be able to.

Phylo out.

With such a tag, one would think you had some more brains.

There is NO evidence whatsoever against Rob for being, as you so childishly wrote, a child molestor.

There is evidence, however, that Obama is a racist.

Phylo, my apologies
I was trying to address your points in an adult manner hoping to have you at least consider doing the same.

Your flipiant "Whatever" remark reminds me of my 15 year old niece when she has no real answer. She uses the same response with a roll of her eyes and flip to her wrist.

18. No one, not you or BO believes McCain wants us to be in Iraq for 100 years. You request slack for Wright, for his intemperate remarks. At some point, the whole body of word and deed must apply. In this case, i think the evidence is more favorable to McCain, and that BO is attacking a known mis statement. Hardly unusual.
19 and 20. Close connections to the mob. Hardly in his favor, but the whole picture of Chicago politics exudes a stench. I doubt he's sqeaky clean, but probably as clean as his competition.

Phylo, thanks...
...for the moron remark towards me. I don't think I said anything about Mr. Obama wanting us to all believe the same thing did I? The question was, young Phylo, on what issues is Obama willing to make concessions on.

I did not attempt to define unity in one way or another so exactly how was my position "extreme".

Your definition of a moron is a person who would like to know what he is expected to give up and what he should expect to gain in order to reach a compromise.

...and Phylo...
...when you say we can disagree without being disagreeable, you should consider using that attempt at superiority in a statement you have not just called someone a moron, it would add a little substance to your character. As it stands you are simply revealing yourself as another progressive hypocrite.

A Question of Character
For those who actually still believe in this country and not inclined to apologize for our greatness, there was one question over all that makes a statement with respect to the quality of Sen. Obama's character.

* Can you give a more convincing explanation for why you no longer wear a flag pin and why you famously chose not to hold your hand over your heart for our National Anthem?

Something to think about.

Does McCain have the intestinal fortitude to ask Obama these questions during a debate? I doubt it.

McCain's sissy Mary stance on being tough on Obama could loose hime the election.

What have you done with Michelle?
Is she hiding?

Hillary's skirt.

There seems to be an almost universal consensus that having Miss Hillary and the Obama still fighting it out with each other... is good for the GOP.

Yes, but also... no.

Until there's a clear cut Democratic nominee, one will always serve to obscure the other. This of course is bad for each individual candidate, as they strive to get their messages out.

But there's also a good within this, even though only temporary.

Because only when there is (finally) a clear cut nominee... only then will the big guns and the sharp knives come out. Quite likely, this will be the ugliest general election that we have ever witnessed... as the 527's and the opposing camps will throw increasingly uglier bombs at each other and retaliate accordingly.

My point simply is. Fear not.

In the end, the Obama will be exposed for what he truly is; a liberal so far left as to be classified a socialist. And one who will bankrupt America and put all of us into harms way.

Tragically, the Obama will also have set race relations back for more than a generation. But he will in the process also serve to expose our present day racists. And many of us will increasingly turn our backs on them.

In the meantime... the Obama is comfortably resting in the gentle shade of Miss Hillary's ample skirt.

But not for long.

government spending
"Given our budget deficit, how can you justify giving away 845 billion dollars of our tax money"

Where was the Hawk when the Republicans doubled the national debt in just six years? Where was Hawk when pork barrel spending went from 3,000 to 14,000 projects per year. Where was Hawk when the $40 billion/year Medicare Prescription plan was passed?

And where was the fiscal conservative Hawk now that we are spending $120 billion a year, for the past 5 years, on a liberal social engineering experiment to bring Democracy to Iraq? Remember, when the Iraqis stand up, we will stand down! All this spending paid for with tax cuts and deficits.

"Words matter"
According to Mr. Obama... Well, except for when I said "typical white person" and when I said "punished with a baby", and when Michelle said ...oh well, just forget what Michelle said... and when Rev Wright said GD America and all those other quotes about HIV and the rich white man (since they were only said a few times).

I get it! Only SOME words matter.

(Kinda like only SOME people have been oppressed or disadvantaged. And they're all black apparently, according to Phylo and some other posters lately)

In case you haven't noticed, it's not usually the candidates asking each other questions in so-called "debates".
It's the newsmedia. Some of them are in love with him and will remain so.
However:
In the general election, Mr. Obama will not be able to so carefully select his venues, and will have to agree to face some who he has thus far gone to great lengths to avoid. They are aware of this and may not go easy on him. In the general election, he might not be able to get away with a "I've already answered 8 questions" snit.

Hillary: Ask these questions, NOW!
Hillary is undoubtedly hoping she can tread water long enough that these questions (which will inevitably be asked SOMETIME) arise before she is forced out of the race.

Phylo
I'll field your part 1.

"1) Unity doesn't mean giving up your positions. It means treating the other side with respect and not intentionally distorting your opponents views."

-So Obama can unify this country and still call us Typical White People. Nice.

"2) McCain has actually done a fair job at reaching across the aisle. I guess that's why he's so despised by the far right."

-This I will agree with.

"3) I know most of you righties believe that Dr. Wright says GD America in every sermon he gives. Medved said he has read dozens of his sermons, yet he hasn't provided us with any other examples of Wright's "Anti-Americansim".

-Medved also couldn't find one scrap of evidence that Wright ever Blessed America or Praised America either. Go figure! MLK was a patriot, he loved our country, he quoted versus of our constitution and praised it. Wright never has.

"4) No one who knows Obama, or has read his books, could possibly believe that he is a racist."

-Anyone who is not an ObamaPod doesn't need to read the love letters to himself to know that he is indeed a card carrying I Hate Whitie member. Not racist? See Ann Coulter's column, LOL, she has an excerpt from his book! But then again, what do I know? I'm just a Typical White Person.

"5) Given that, is it not understandable that blacks would harbor some anger and resentment toward whites, while it's incomprehensible for whites to feel the same towards blacks."

-Yep, and as a Jew, Nazi Germans were really bad to my people. Funny, I don't hate Germans though. Looks like some people can tell the difference between radical core groups vs an entire race. Does this mean I deserve and have the right to hate all Germans, even newborns, because THEY were MEAN to my relatives once?

Choices???
Right now it appears that after the final two candidates square off for debates later on this summer, the "facts" about each one will be exposed, maybe.

From what I can analyze now, we will have two big "zero's" to vote for. I am still going to write in Duncan Hunter. And none of these candidates have said anything about freeing our two fine border agents who are still in prison.

Speaking ability and Wright
I agree with the earliest commenters who questioned Obama's speaking ability. He seems to do quite well in the staged events, but he's a trainwreck in the Q&A. Someone cited Ted Baxter (from the old "Mary Tyler Moore Show"), and I almost lost bladder control. Where's Murray when Obama needs him.

When you listen, for example, to his "I don't want my daughters punished" comments, you have to ask, "What was he thinking?"

Although I listened to his Philadelphia speech, which has all of his supporters swooning, I really stopped listening to him after his first response to the Wright clips. When he said that he "did not personally hear" the remarks, I realized that we were never going to get a straight answer from him. His supporters can whine all they want, but this isn't a criminal trial and he's not entitled to a standard of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. His later responses about what he knew have been sufficiently evasive that voters can dump the whole lot of them at his feet. We're the voters and with the Wright tapes everywhere, the burden is on him to prove definitively what he knew or didn't know.

He knew. He just kept his mouth shut because he needed Wright and Wright's congregants for a local political base. That's what is so callous and selfish and cowardly about Obama. He'd allow a foul-mouthed bully of a pastor to rant hate and lies three sermons a week, (say) 45 weeks a year, for 20 years to 8,000 people a week--and not correct him? I've heard the expression that Wright's style of preaching emphasizes "speaking truth to power." Well, why wasn't this gutless Obama speaking truth to Wright. Coward.

If Wright had been in McCain's shoes in Vietnam, Obama would have been on the first plane out of Hanoi when given the chance to abandon his fellow countrymen. I can't past Obama's gutlessness. What a coward.

Obama and Partial Birth
Phylo:

On the partial birth point, explain this article by a Chicagoland nurse who testified before a Illinois committee on which Obama served:

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=51121

Obama sounds like a ghoul.

Beastie Boy
Obviously to you, ad hominem arguments ARE relevant. Any misgivings i have about BO are not based on charges of hypocrisy, or gratuitous name-calling. Does it make sense to you that if someone accuses BO of racism, and i am trying to determine if he is or not, merely charging the accuser of racism is not a defense of Obama? Its just not that easy. Deeds by Obama over time which indicate he treats whites and blacks evenly would show he is likely not a racist, or concealing it carefully. Similarly, proof that the accuser IS a racist, with an anti-Obama agenda, would lower the credibility of the charges. I don't often attempt interface with drive-by trolls, finding them for the most part shrill and superficial. I'm afraid you have made me regret departing from my usual practice.

Anne
Thank you for bringing up the point so often ignored by Obama's defenders, that it is not the media, or you, or me that is running for POTUS. I don't have to win any votes from BO, he and/or his advocates have to win mine.

Phylo and Beastie,

do you doubt that Obama will do his best to advance the radical homosexual agenda?

Do you doubt that Obama will do his best to keep abortion legal and available?

Do you doubt that Obama will do his best to grow the federal government?

Do you doubt that Obama has no real (other than trying to talk the terrorists out of it) plan to deal with Islamic terrorism?

Do you doubt that Obama feels closer to radical black activists and socialist activists than he does to white Americans and capitalists?

Do you doubt that Obama does not care whether or not the oil companies pass tax increases on to the American consumer? A parallel question, do you believe Obama understands that increasing taxes can only slow economic growth in America?

These are questions for you, not for Obama.

On Obama and the war in Iraq
Although I supported the decision of George Bush to invade Iraq and will believe to my dying day that it was the right call to make (although I'm not necessarily defending the STRATEGY that was pursued in the war) - and my reasons for supporting the war are considerably different than those President Bush has enunciated to justify it - I must take issue with Hawkins and my fellow conservatives who cudgel Barack Obama for his intention to end our involvement in Iraq quickly if he's elected president. Given the fact that Obama opposed the war right from the get-go and made that clear at the time, although he didn't have the opportunity then to actually cast a vote against it, it would hardly be a flip-flop for him to have the position on Iraq that he does now. In fact, I would argue that ANY person running for president right now who was opposed to the Iraq War from the outset could not take any OTHER position, if they're sincere about their opposition, than that if he/she is elected Commander-in-Chief, that he/she would quickly terminate our involvement in Iraq, WHATEVER the consequences. I don't have an axe to grind with Obama, Howard Dean, and other Democrats who opposed our invasion of Iraq from the outset and went on record as doing so and have stayed with that position ever since: they took what was not at the time a politically safe stance, so at least give them credit for taking a position and sticking with it, come what may. You may DISAGREE with their stance, and I certainly do, but there IS something to be said for someone who at least is consistent. If we're going to pillary ANYONE for their dovish position on Iraq today, the proper target of THAT is Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, and other Democrats who voted for the war because they perceived it to be a politically advantageous move at the time (particularly Hillary) but have tried to have it both ways on Iraq since.

Standhisground,

so, what is Obama going to do about Islamic terrorists? Could you or another Obamaramamama help us to understand his strategy for dealing with Islamic terrorism?

bottom line for righties on obama
all this whining form the right about barack obama is getting tiresome. the bottom line is that his supporters, have a 100% different viewpoint on him which is positive and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change it.
Obama is a phenomenon with incredible momentum behind him on his way to potentially winning the

if you dont like him, then dont vote for and get out the vote for mccain..therin lies the problem for you because you hate mccain just as much..

Finite Resource
Phylo #11 --The fact is, we have finite resources and we have to choose how to use them wisely. I couldn't agree more. Are you becoming a conservative? We spend 4% of GDP on defense, which is in the constitution. How much of our finite resources are spent on entitlements, which aren't?

#17 -- You've got this story totally wrong John. Do a little more research. Just because Obama's hand writing on the questionnaire, doesn't mean he filled out the questionnaire.

Congratulations, That has to be the most idiotic statement I've ever seen on TH.

Savage99: You're welcome.

beastie, impeach, and phylo, etc. have no points and cannot stand that these questions Hawkins asks are valid and very important questions that NEED to be answered to everyones' satisfaction, regardless of whether or not we agree with his answers.

In fact, why anyone with even a modicum of intelligence wouldn't want these questions answered is beyond comprehension.

But, the fact that beastie, impeach, and phylo, etc. divert the points elsewhere, makes it pretty clear where they're coming from...

Couldn't get past the first line.

And, don't be so sure that either BHO or HRC will run away with this election.... Seen the latest numbers???

Phylo re #18
That you can't admit what McCain said shows that you're as dishonest as Obama. He clearly said that we may have a presence there just as we continue to have a presence in Japan, South Korea, Germany, etc. He did not say we would still be fighting for 100 years. He said the U.S. would still have a presence there. He clarified it yesterday on The View also (sad to admit, I watched it yesterday when I found out he was going to be on). So enough already with the "McCain wants us fighting for 100 years" garbage. It's a lie. It's twisting his words to make them what you want them to be, not the truth. If you're going to interpret Obama's and Wright's words in the best possible light no matter what, then at least be honest about EXACTLY what McCain said and don't put words into his mouth. That just makes you a hack.

Left Angle -
"what a fix you righties find yourself in, but then thats YOUR problem NOT the democrats."

GOP may not agree w/ Mac 100%, but at least we stand united. Where's your unity? I'm watching the dems. spiral w/ little hope of recovery.

eddie too
I never said that I'd WANT Obama as Commander-in-Chief; I definitely don't. I think he IS soft on Islamic terrorism - and given that his father was a Muslim, I don't trust him to protect the U.S. from Islamic fanatics bent on murdering us right here on our own soil. All I'm doing is giving him credit for having maintained a consistent position on the war in Iraq all these years - which is more than can be said for Hillary, the two Johns who were on the Democratic ticket in 2004, etc. If one believes a certain policy is a mistake and was right from the outset, if one finds oneself in a position to be able to undo the policy that brought it about, one should do so if one's position on that policy is sincere. I was opposed to Bill Clinton sending troops into the Balkans, for example, so if I were elected Commander-in-Chief while any of our troops were still there, one of my first acts would be to withdraw them immediately, and I would listen to no arguments to the contrary on why I shouldn't. Since I believed the policy to be wrong all along, I would take the stance that it didn't benefit my country, and therefore it should be ended - PERIOD. Like I said before, I disagree with those who believe we shouldn't have gone into Iraq, but I respect the privilege of someone to hold a different opinion on certain matters of public policy than me, including this one. If Obama runs on the platform that if elected president he'll quickly get the U.S. out of Iraq, regardless of any other considerations, well at least we'll know when we go into the voting booth exactly what policy we're voting for in the choice we make for president. If a majority of my countrymen decide that getting out of Iraq quickly is their highest priority and vote for Obama for no other reason than that one - well, the issue will have gotten a fair hearing and been decided, so I'll live with the verdict of my countrymen.

Apt questions. Bo's defenders don't realize they are talking past those of us on the right. Slavery is a big deal with them so they can't seem to realize its not an excuse for anything to us. And they don't realize that the questions you pose are what we care about. They are at the core differences of left and right politics. They can't imagine anyone who could possibly have a legitimate reason for disagreeing with them, and Obama on these questions.

are biased to begin with and one should always consider the source of the person asking them and the motive behind them being aked. in other words they are questions set up to get answers the questioner can use against the person being asked them. comprende?

Left Angle of 1:35
Nicely put, and our problem sure enough. Your problem, and the countries' is what the heck are you going to do if you win?

RE: Left Angle
You're absolutely right. There is NOTHING that can be done to change how B. Hussein Obama is perceived by the dopes that support him. Like Fat Ted Kennedy, he could actually MURDER someone, and his supporters STILL support him.

I've always found this to be one of the biggest differences between those on the left and those on the right.

Those on the left support people no matter how abominable they are. Teddy Kennedy murdered a girl, Dems support him. Alger Hiss betrayed this country, Dems supported him. Gerry Studds admitted to having sex with a child, Dems supported him. Bill Clinton repeatedly cheated on his wife, raped at least one woman, lied under oath and committed obstruction of justice, Dems still support him.

There is litterally NOTHING someone supported by Democrats can POSSIBLY do to change how Democrats feel about them.

On the other hand, Republicans support ideas, not people. Every time a Republican is caught doing something horrible, we don't hesitate to litterally or figuratively throw them under the bus. Republicans are smart enough to know that people are flawed, so the unconditional support of people is destined to lead to folly.

Phylo Se Fiser said

It's a ridiculous lie to say that Obama is "pro" partial birth abortion. He simply argues that abortion is a decision that should be left up to the individual rather than the government making the decision.

Oh you mean the individual decisions on
what kind of light bulbs to use.
Health care.
Telling me how much money I can make as a CEO of a company.
Telling my company you are going to tax my profits. (IE Big Oil)
Bailing out Bear Sterns

Are those the kind of individual decisions he is talking about?

Left Angle
My bad?!?! Last time I checked we (GOP) had our nominee. Republicans can disagree and still support one another. Link your evidence.

Barry's grandma
I'm sure his "white" grandma is proud of Barry, I mean B. Hussein. His racism is appauling and very evident.

Left Angle: Biased questions???

I don't suppose you'd like to explain how each of those questions is "biased" would you?

Try #1.
As the single most liberal senator in 2007, just how is it a biased question as to how BHO intends to "unite" the country?

Okay, Lefty, you're on.

Left Angle
Can you tell me anything about your canidates experience that will convince me is Qualified to be POTUS?

beowolfe: what i question..
is your mental stability. most of the statements you make about democrats have no basis in reality.

I got one good question for you and i would love to hear your answers.

If hillary clinton and barack obama are "anti-american socialist communist" as you charge, please explain WHY they are running for POTUS and exaclty how they are going to convert the u.s. form of government from a democracy to one of communism/socialism?

100% Different View Point of Obama?
Left Angle-

News Flash! Many of the supporters who "HAD" a 100% different viewpoint on Obama, which "WAS" positive are now learning who Obama really is and what RADICAL Views and Associates he has been influenced by for many years! Obama is very skilled at speaking- but saying nothing! Voters are begining to do their research on Obama and are finding out who he really is!

Thank-you, John Hawkins, for your organized, comprehensive and brilliant list of important questions Obama NEEDS to answer! For goodness sake- he wants to be PRESIDENT! I would think Obama supporters would want to know the answeres to these questions, too! So they can truly know who they are voting for!

Were you guys sleeping?
Help? What do we do now? It's looking like Obama will be our nominee and eventual president. Hillary would have been a more worthy opponent for McCaine than Obama. The majority of the Dem party are just mesmerized by this guy. I think he's the scariest candidate ever(including Nader and Dukes).Your questions would be great but the average person is not in a position to get them asked.
I'm afraid all the reporters on TV are Obamabots or Clinton haters. They can't even report statistics straight. They even try to slant that in Obamas favor. As conservatives you may say why should I care? You should care because the longer you wait, the more young people are drinking the kool-aid. Apparently Spike Lee said,"Obama is going to be the next president and anybody who doesn't get behind the wave is going to be swept out to sea."

Anne: a question
which will prove my point.

you say obama is the most "liberal" senator in the senate.

in your mind is that a postive or negative connotation and what is your definition of the word "liberal"?

Question Number 21
Would you Barack Hussein Obama submit to a polygraph on your alleged gay sexual enounter and drug use in the last 10 years?

beowulfe
You forgot Sandy (I stuffed classified documents in my pants)Burger.

I'll help w/ this one:
Two jump to mind:

HRC - Hillarycare (Socialized medicine)

HBO - Voted to ban handguns. (anti- 2nd amendment?)

Lefty: No, it didn't prove your point...

BHO's OWN VOTING RECORD demonstrates that he IS the most liberal Senator...

So, okay, back to the question....

... just how is it a biased question as to how BHO intends to "unite" the country?

Answer
They're running for president because they haven't been successful at convincing enough people to overthrow the Constitutional government, and instead will overthrow it themselves from within.

Also, please note that we're not a democracy, nor were we ever intended to be a democracy. Our government is a republican government.

Furthermore, even Castro's Cuba and Chavez's Venezuela tout themselves as "democracies", and hold regular elections. Now you can argue the virtues or demarits of those nations' governments, but what you cannot argue is that both Castro and Chavez are communists (seeing as how they call themselves communists, or at the very least, the euphemism for "comunist", socialist).

Democracy to communism/socialism
Left angle: "how they are going to convert the u.s. form of government from a democracy to one of communism/socialism?"

Democracy and Communism/socialism are not mutually exclusive. A democracy can vote on this form of gov't, but to the peril of it's own people.

terry berry: oh really...
obama is someone else other than the person he presents himself to be? well, i for one totally disagree..that would make him a very deceptive and dishonest person and i simply dont believe that to be true about him. I think he is genuine and the real deal.

what i believe is that you repubs/cons will do anything to derail what you your greatest fear is: a democrat in the whitehouse with a democratic congress..

your number# tactic:

character assasination thru guilt by association.
any intelligent person can see that is a bs argument..you cant morph rev wright into obama and make his words come out of obamas mouth.
the only people affected by that nonsense are people such as yourself righties that were not
going to vote for him in the first place..lol

Now a question for Left Angle
If my FACTS about Democrats have no basis in reality, how, then, do you explain Edward M. Kennedy, every 6 years, garnering 70% of the vote every time he runs for re-election? How do you explain Gerry Studds being re-elected 5 times after admitting he had sex with a child? How do you explain Barney Frank being re-elected every 2 years after getting caught running a male prostitution ring out of his house? How do you explain Jim Leahy's continued re-elections after having been caught leaking classified information? How do you explain HILLARY CLINTON doing as well as she is, even though those Rose Lawfirm billing documents PROVED she was a primary coconspirator in a scandal that stole the life's savings of dozens of POOR people?

The examples are ENDLESS.

The FACT of the matter is that there is NOTHING a Democrat can do to discourage his constituents from voting for him.

The thing is that this has ALWAYS been the case. The person primarily responsible for what became the modern Democratic Party was, himself, a murderous traitor (Google Aaron Burr).

The difference
A democracy is a straight vote. Mob rules.

A republic has checks and balances.

Those Founding Fathers were smart, even for white guys.

beowulfe @2:10PM: Excellent! Well said!

But you do know the libs "ain't gonna get it" don't you.

Nope, gonna ignore that like the plague...

Too bad, 'cause there was a lot of wisdom there.

beowolf: conspiracy theories
you stated:

"They're running for president because they haven't been successful at convincing enough people to overthrow the Constitutional government, and instead will overthrow it themselves from within."

like i said before, I wonder about your mental stability..what you just said above is some the
product of a disturbed mind..lol

so hillary or obama will become dictators and all repub/cons opposition will be banished or killed, there will be no more elections and the
u.s. system will be converted to fascims or communism?

due you truly need help..lmao

Wehner link
Seriously, I encourage all to review the Wehner (not Weher) article for which Mr. Hawkins provides a link. If Obama can't hurdle the Wright obstacle (and he cannot), there's no sense in debating anything else.

I suspect that 30% or so may be staunchly Obama (in the end) and 30% or so may be staunchly McCain. That leaves 40% or so "in play." McCain can keep talking straight while getting the Wright tapes played over and over till Obama finally comes clean. In the end, I just don't see all of the Hillary supporters drifting to Obama. Good old Military McCain is a lot more like them than some elitist, Ivy League community activist who can think well on his feet.

The teat of the nanny state
Lefty,

If there was nothing but a leftist president and congress from now on until the end of time. What would be the result? I am very interested in your response to this question.

setrimacoky: a response..
progressive common sense good government.

Left Angle
Hitler, Mugabe, Chavez Castro and lots of others were all chosen by their constituents in more or less formal elections, so there are lots of precedents for turning a democracy into a dictatorship. With such a high proportion of legislators and probably judges having incidents in their career they would like to keep secret, ruthless use of FBI files could well enable a president to stack things up to avoid first the 2 term limitation, and then go on to president for life. Would you consider that a change of govt?

White, Black or Arab?
Obama is 50% White, 46.75% ARAB and 6.25% Black. I'm no legal scholar, but my understanding is by US standards to be classified as a member of a minority group a person has to be at least 12% of said minority group one is signing on to be.

I don't give a rat's *ss what color he is, BUT, if he is trying to dupe the citizens as to what race he really is, it's another lie. Does anyone know the legal definition of a minority in the US?

You can read at: http://www.kennethelamb.blogspot.com/2008/02/barak-obama-q uestions-about-ethnic.html and decide for yourselves.

Left Angle: Tut tut tut...

You're getting off the point... again!

beowulfe was talking about the dems constantly re-electing:

-- child molesters

-- someone running a male prostitution ring out of his house

-- someone caught leaking classified information

-- a PROVEN co conspirator in a scandal that stole the life's savings of dozens of POOR people?

And you're evading my questions....

Certain things can't be undone
Lefty,

We already have too many people dependant on the nanny state. We will have a very hard time removing these programs on which too many people depend. After more and more socialist policies, what you eventually have is a statist socialist form of government. Folks become lazy and dependant on the government.

Who said anything about conspiracies?
Conspiracies imply something that is done in the shadows, hidden from view.

B. Hussein Obama and Hilary Clinton (and even John McCain) are doing everything right out in the open.

You can shut tight your eyes, firmly ensconce your fingers in your ears, and shout "LALALA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" all you want, that doesn't change the FACTS.

For example, just yesterday or the day before all three candidates came out in support of yet another law aimed at capping corporate executive pay. Of course, your boy Slick Willy signed the last such law, which, as anyone with a brain predicted, not only did nothing to limit executive pay, but DIRECTLY led to the Enron, WorldCom, Tyco, etc... corporate scandals.

One wonders with such a colorful history of such laws, why the candidates would be in favor of yet more such laws? Perhaps YOU have a reason, Lefty?

Savage: a correction.
Technically, Hitler never won any election. He lost in the only election he ran in, and was appointed to his Chancelor position. Hitler never won a majority of any vote.

Obama/Hilliary Socialists? You Bet Baby!
#1. All the regulations on energy! If the government can control our food and energy they can control the people! (example: using our food as an alternitive energy, therefore causing a food shortage and higher food prices! In addition the energy /gas prices keep going up as well!) The envionmental extremists will not let Americans harvest the natural resources (oil) in our own country based on JUNK SCIENCE that has been proven false! Globle Warming and Going Green is a tool government uses to control the people! That is why they teach this unproven science to our elementary students! Just like Hitler- indoctrinate them young
#2. They want to contol every area of our lives, down to IF, WHEN and WHERE we can smoke; what light bulbs we HAVE TO USE; what cars we HAVE to drive ect. . .
#3. It is on record here in my state of Illinois that Obama wants to ban the making and selling of all hand guns! And we are only one of two states (WS)that has laws against carring a concealed weapon! Thanks, in part, to Obama being our state senator!

Setrimacoky

Geese beowulfe, I was just thinking...

*** OH, and did I mention that I am NOT a dem? Just wanted to make sure! :-)

Obama is a muslim
Evidently beasty boy and the other osama obama suckups want to live under shira law.

RE: Anne
It is simply staggering when one considers the leftist ideology as a whole.

Check out this article: http://www.asanet.org/page.ww?section=Press&name=If+Felons +Could+Have+Voted%2C+National+Election+Outcomes+Would+Have+ Been+Different

This was written by a pair of sociologists who are arguing that felons should be re-enfranchised (be allowed to vote again) on the basis that it would get more Democrats elected. Go ahead and read it. It is staggering. These guys seem to be PROUD that Democrats would get the votes of child molestors, murderers, and bank robbers!

Is it really any wonder that they -- the elected Democrats -- seem to be forgiven by their constituents no matter what they do so easily? Half of their constituency is made up of those who likely have done worse themselves!

righties predict the overthrow
of the u.s. government should hillary clinton or obama be elected u.s. president?

savage 99 states:

"Hitler, Mugabe, Chavez Castro and lots of others were all chosen by their constituents in more or less formal elections, so there are lots of precedents for turning a democracy into a dictatorship."

so now hillary clinton and obama are the equivilant of hitler, mugabe chavez and castro?

this is some sick sh*t..lmao

beowolf states:

"They're running for president because they haven't been successful at convincing enough people to overthrow the Constitutional government, and instead will overthrow it themselves from within. B. Hussein Obama and Hilary Clinton (and even John McCain) are doing everything right out in the open."

so there is a plot by mccain, obama and clinton to overthrow the consitutional government of the u.s.?

the plot thickens...rotflmao

Don't you love the internet.
Again about Iraq? Well here are some sayings from some of the mouthpieces THEN:

"I can support the president. I can support an action against Saddam Hussein because it's in the long term interest of our national security."
Hillary Clinton, 9/15/2002

"Saddam Hussein in effect has thumbed his nose at the world community and I think the president has approached this in the right fashion."
Harry Reid, 9/18/2002

"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." -- Bill Clinton in 1998

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security." -- Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002

If you think Hussein Obama(the socialist) is the real deal, then you are a very complete useful idiot.
When you hear "the real deal" talk, do you and your "partner(s)" swoon & wet your selves?

Hussein is one of the slickest liars i have ever heard. But any average person should be able to see that.
Take time to locate your brain & put the damn thing to use.......

pandm: oh i know...
obama/hillary/dems have a "secret plan" to overthrow the u.s. constitutional government..
the average person should SEE THAT!!!

Vladamir Lenin had a term for Lefty:
"Useful idiot."

Describes Left Angle all too perfectly.

Beowulfe
No kidding? Since i don't google, i get nailed now and then, but i was slide rule accuracy certain Hitler won his Chancellor slot by election. I "know" his assimulation of sole power was aided by circumstances like Hindenburgs health and that Duke Somebody who had plans for a commoner lout he thought he could control. There is no doubt in the late 30's he was much admired, even outside Germany, with the NAZI party having many members world wide. Quite a few Europeans thought he was the path to a US of E. Thank you for the correction. The sooner i get corrected, the less embarrassing.

Obama is not my concern
Obama may not be as much of a concern to me as are his sheep.

Those who cherish Democracy should be wary of the masses of people so willing to follow a man of empty messages, a record of Leftist positions in the Senate, and Saul Alinsky-inspired Socialist methods applied throughout his community service. Looking at these decisions makes it even more clear why Sen. Obama found it easy to remain in his church for 20+ years.

Just because we can vote doesn't make a county democratic. The Founding Fathers put a lot more thought into the founding of this country and now, the entranced masses are willing to kick our cherished form of government out the door for Socialism.

Oooh Left Angle..hellooo, where are you?
Are we ignoring the questions???

I say, let's get back to those pesky ol' questions.

All in favor, say "Aye!"

The More Important Question...
...is why do you even care to ask these questions? If Obama gave you an answer to each and every one of them, which I'm sure he can (heck, I probably could with very limited research), what difference would it make to any of you? Would it change your mind? Would it change your opinions? Would it change your vote?

So, I guess the real question is "Do you even want to hear the answers, or is it just more fulfilling to ask the questions rhetorically?" 'Cos if you heard the answers it wouldn't change your mind because you'd brush that off anyway. I mean, most of you probably still think he's a Muslim for crying out loud...

So continue your hope in the great John McCain. A man I respect, but whose policies are horrible.

Don't forget
Hitler was Time magazines Man of The Year

RE: Hitler
Savage, if you're interested, this link is actually a pretty interesting essay on exactly the question of whether Hitler was elected or not:

http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-hitlerdemo.htm

Left Angle
You wrong me, or at least mistake my point. You asked a question "How are they going.....etc." Perhaps i was mistaken in detecting a whiff of implication that this was utterly impossible here in the US of A. My intention was merely to prove it had happened before, not to say anyone in our current political establishment has any such ambitions. There are very few DC pols i would not classify as arrogant elitists, John McCain being proven to be among the foremost. But i can't see any of the 3 stooges risking the life of a president to gain the role of bullet-dodging tyrant. Of course, they are all gun-grabbers.

ANNE....
you failed to answer my questions to you on liberalism/obama...

good connotation or bad..

whats YOUR definition on liberalism?

see "shoes" post above..I agree with him 100% and that was exactly my point above.

Lefty, answer MY question.
I answered your question, yet you haven't answered mine.

You stated that my views those who vote for Democrat candidates don't give a rat's behind how many laws they break, how immoral their candidates are, and how horrible their candidates are as a person is inaccurate.

I asked you, then, since you think it's not true that those who vote for Democrats will continue to support criminals, explain Ted Kennedy? Explain Barney Frank? Explain Hillary Clinton. Explain Patrick Leahy?

What's the matter? Afraid I really WASN'T wrong, and that now you'll have to admit you're just a shill for the left just like Phylo?

Sorry LA, I asked first....

One thing at a time...

Just something I learned discussing "anything" with the libs...

Stick to ONE topic before things get convoluted....

Okay??????

beowulfe & Savage: C'mon guys, you know

that's one of the typical leftist tactics...

1. Answer a question with a question.....

and then there is the ever popular...

2. Avoid the question altogether

and

3. Skirt around the question

and

4. Leave.

Obama's new quote:
In his attempt to explain why some voters in Pennsylvania are resentful:

'And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations'

So let's count the number of groups he just insulted. Gun owners, religious people, anyone against illegal immigration, and anyone who lost their job due to trade deals. Wow, he really is a great speaker.

Regarding Anne's post on Lefty tactics..
I don't even know what you guys were all discussing, but I love how it can't just be a rational discussion of ideas. There's always the immediate "She's Left" or "He's Right" and "everyone is the same".

Do any of you honestly think that the far-right opinions on this board or the far-left opinions of other websites represent what the majority of Americans believe? I guess it is entertaining to argue on chat boards, but in the end it's pointless because it's not a real discussion, but rather finger-pointing.

And trust me, I've presented conservatives rational facts and responses and there are plenty who tend to avoid & skirt the questions or leave the conversation altogether as well. It's not just one side...

Obama's empty suit
Obama's speeches are so eloquent that it starts one's senses when he goes off script and starts sounding like a stammering fool.

Even in the interview as long as he knows whats coming he is great. Throw him a hard question and you see his wheels start turning but, the lights are out. Kind of like a champion with a class jaw.

I wonder, if Obama does become president will Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stay on script for Obama?

We can volley all day...
Knight Who Said Ni wrote: "I wonder, if Obama does become president will Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stay on script for Obama?"

And I wonder if John McCain is elected President if he'll continue to repeatedly insist to Ahmadinejad that Iran is training Al Quaeda...only to be corrected by someone.

This can go in circles forever....but it sure is fun to spout hatred towards someone isn't it?? :)

right: Okay, THAT impresses me! :-)

I don't think that even HELLary has managed to offend and insult THAT many groups of people all in ONE speech....

Man, you've got to be good to do that!!!

THAT was offensive???
right is its own defense wrote: "So let's count the number of groups he just insulted. Gun owners, religious people, anyone against illegal immigration, and anyone who lost their job due to trade deals. Wow, he really is a great speaker."

This was offensive to you? Actually saying that people hold onto certain ideals and form a hated opinion towards someone different is offensive? Let's see, how do you feel about people who are anti-gun? how do you feel about people who are Christian but feel that religion & politics should be completely separate? How do you feel about people who didn't lose their jobs due to trade agreements, but rather because companies decided that the Almighty Dollar was more important than American jobs and are angry about that?

Hmmmm... is that offensive?? Wow, I guess you're just easily offended. sorry to hear that. Maybe a chatroom like this one, that is filled with nothing but hatred towards people who disagree with them isn't the place for your fragile mindset then??

Huh?
impeachbush wrote: "After 7 years of "wanted dead or alive"

Ya see, it's comments like these that make true liberals look bad. That comment doesn't make sense, it's not backed up by any facts, and it's simply written to further fan the flames angry posts around here.

Do I believe that Obama will re-direct the troop deployments to ACCURATELY fight the War on Terror? Yes I do. Do I believe that a new strategy is needed if we actually care about catching or killing Osama bin Laden? Yes I do.

But a stupid post like the one above doesn't say any of that. Trust me, I'm glad you're pro-Obama, but don't make things worse....make them better.

Shoes (your 3:41 post)
You asked if Sen Obama gives an answer to all the questions, would it change your mind?

For my part, you're absolutely right. It would not. It's too late for that. He is quite backing off of some of his previous stances, softening, hedging. Should I believe that or what he said in the first place? Or how he's voted?
Frankly, for me, it's only entertainment now. I heard all he had to say very early on. Changing what he says or how he says it- I assume he's going after the ones who tune in late.

Left Angle (2:01pm)
You say that "we in the democratic party love a good debate...etc"
Your party leaders do not seem to agree with you as evidenced by weekly calls for Mrs. Clinton to step down/step aside. I think your party is quite embarrassed and frightened of nastiness in Denver.
Now, mind you, I don't share that value. I do value a good debate and a full vetting of the candidates and issues. But there seems to be this value for "unity" that your party has (I don't share it), that you're trying to deny.
Nice try tho.

Shoes
Are you at dizzy way up there on your high-horse?
If you don't liek the tone--don't participate.

Well Shoes, we were trying to discuss

Hawkins' list of 20 Questions for BHO.

Now, if you'd take the time to read some of the posts above, you'd see that some poster, Left Angle, tried to divert the discussion....

That's where the last few posts came from...

No rocket science if you take time to get up to speed.

a few comments...
impeachbush: trust me, you and I probably agree on a lot of things. It's just that the little jabs are what make people look bad is all. I agree with you that under Obama he'd redirect us to fight this war in the right places.

beyond the pale: my high horse? Please let me know which part you thought I was a high horse about...or can you just not handle actual discussion. Because I'm not going to resort to name-calling, then I'm on a high horse?? Niiiice. Well, at least you've well-established where you stand.

Shoes, Shoes, read your own stuff
You sound like you would like to see more amiable discussion, and then you describe this as a chatroom filled with nothing but hatred. Let's have a little consistency please. As a conversation starter i assume from yours of 4:30 you don't believe Iran is supporting Al Queada. Any particular reason for you to believe this? Do you believe jihadis are crossing into Iraq from Iran for the express purpose of defeating American policy in Iraq? Do you believe Iran has no interest or influence in Iraq? Say something we can discuss.

Anne
It just struck me. There have been lots of Obama boosters, some McCain boosters, and the usual conservative suspects, but i haven't seen nary a Hillary booster for days. Wha hoppen? Six months ago we were getting the razz berry daily, and now they are mysteriously gone. Fair weather friends would be my guess. No guts, no principles, nothing to defend when they see no chance for immediate victory.

WYSIWYG
With Obama, what you see is what you get. He's a far-left wing anti-white, anti-semite, anti-corporate, anti-human rights, anti-civil rights, elitist who knows what best for you. One need look no farther than his own words and look at his record.

He may give some folks the "warm and fuzzies" and make them all atwitter. Those who are rational and logical aren't a large percentage of his supporters, said folks seeing through his nebulous claims and aspirations.

But I've learned to never underestimate the collective ignorance of uneducated voters...

SNAFU
The way i heard it is "We can't lose. All the fools in the country are on our side".

impeachbush
And if the voters choose Obama next time will they still be dummies? If a dem wins and only serves one term, will the dummies have wised up? Your short-sighted gotchas betray your reasons for being here. Presumably you would like to persuade someone to vote for Obama. You don't seem to be getting very far.

Savage99: You KNOW that impeach probably

Whatever he says, I just ignore it... he hasn't said ONE SINGLE reasonable or rational thing since he started posting.

The word that stuck out to me was "cling." That these people aren't doing well so they "cling" to their guns. That makes them sound like a bunch of wackos, but I guess that's how Obama sees them. They don't know how to deal with the situation so they start hating immigrants and people not like them. That's very presumptive and yes, I think it's offensive.

Obama for AMERICA'S President?
That simple minded buffoon wants to give the U.N. authority to TAX AMERICAN CITIZENS for his project to end World Poverty!
After the Food for Oil scandal I am sure every American trusts the United Nations with authority to tax us?
That is tantamount to surrendering American Sovereignty!

Obama just doesn't like us
“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are going to regenerate and they have not.

“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Yep, I'm from a small town in Pennsylvania, and we lost some jobs here. Why just the other day, I said "Earl, go git a rope and your gun, and I'll get sheets off the bed. I'll meet you in front of the church for a good old necktie party!"
