Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Hell hath no fury like the Gray Lady scorned.

This weekend, the venerable New York Times ran five hit pieces on Sarah Palin: three breathless op-eds, one blistering editorial and a scathing 3,200-word front-page “news” story remarkable for dismissing even the pretense of balance. (In the interest of thoroughness, at least, the paper also trashed Todd Palin as too involved in his wife’s governorship.)

The paper of record, of course, was hardly the sole perpetrator the Palin Pile-on. It was just the nastiest.

In its sole piece of substantive reporting this weekend on Gov. Palin, the Times eschewed a “mixed bag” approach, as evidenced by the headline, “Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes.” No surprises followed.

Despite 80% of Alaskans adoring their governor, the Times managed to find the most vocal members of the other 20%. Almost to a man, the locals quoted in the ostensibly objective front-page story furthered the narrative of John McCain’s running mate as someone whose leadership is primarily marked by vindictive cronyism. While the news piece makes two fleeting mentions of her actually having supporters in her home state, both positive references are quickly coupled with critiques.

Perhaps the Times felt it offered balance by not smearing Gov. Palin in a style section story on her this weekend. That piece was—all 1,000+ words of it—dedicated to the pressing issues related to the vice presidential candidate’s fashion choices. And that was as kind as the paper got.

Compare this weekend’s coverage to the Gray Lady’s fawning profile of Barack Obama in May. With an unmistakably positive headline of “Pragmatic Politics, Forged on the South Side,” the 5,000 word hagiography managed to bury any mention of Obama’s former financier—and now convicted felon—Tony Rezko almost 2,000 words deep. Even then, the man who at that point was on the cusp of being convicted on corruption charges was mentioned in two brief sentences—treated as nothing more than a mere footnote in Obama’s life.

After doing legitimate reporting on Rezko in June 2007, the Times largely ignored the criminal trial of one of Obama’s closest friends and associates, who helped the candidate and his wife Michelle buy their self-described “dream house.” Never mind that Obama’s name popped up in meaningful fashion several times during the proceedings.

Over the past 15 months, only ten Times articles have devoted significant ink to Rezko’s trial or his relationship with the Democratic nominee. The page numbers where each piece ran, though, tell the real story of the Times’ editorial priorities: 21, 25, 13, 20, 13, 16, 15, 18, 15, 18.

The last substantial reporting on Rezko came on June 5, in which the page 18 article announced his felony conviction.

Not one Times columnist expressed serious concern about Obama entering into a high-dollar land deal with Rezko, a man he knew to be under federal investigation and now known to all as a convicted felon. Though apparently not worried about Obama’s judgment, the polemical trio of Bob Herbert, Paul Krugman and Frank Rich are apoplectic about the prospects of Palin moving to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Watching Palin’s ABC interview, Herbert wrote, made him realize that “dimwittedness is not just on the march in the U.S., but that it might actually prevail.” Ignoring the obvious comparisons to Obama’s paper-thin résumé, Herbert passionately argued that Palin is simply “not ready.” Not to be outdone, Krugman direly warned that a McCain-Palin administration could be “much, much worse” than the current one. Rich, for his part, labeled Palin a “candidate who embodies fear of change”—and, as he does with impressive regularity, somehow also managed to jab Republicans as racist homophobes.

Uncorking the most venom, though, was the paper’s unsigned editorial titled “Gov. Palin’s Worldview.” Wasting no time, the opening paragraph states, “As we watched Sarah Palin on TV the last couple of days, we kept wondering what on earth John McCain was thinking.” Though the Times’ editorial page never once expressed concern about Obama’s judgment in light of his financial dealings with a man he knew to be under investigation in Rezko, McCain’s selection of Palin “raises profound questions about his judgment.”

The Times’ unbridled hysteria over Palin has undoubtedly “raised profound questions” about the paper’s judgment in the minds of voters. Clearly Palin, like any politician, has plenty of failings worthy of examination, but the sheer level of deranged panic only further batters the paper’s already-diminished reputation.

By unrelentingly savaging Sarah, the Times and its mainstream media peers actually could help the woman who strikes such fear in their hearts. Once this initial tsunami subsides, Palin likely will be smiling, still exuding the can do attitude at the core of her appeal. The more desperate the media gets, the classier she looks.

Just don’t expect that story line to sneak into the Times.

The Gray Tramp
With the advent of the internet, we all should consider the devastating effects of newspapers and magazines like the NY Times & US magazine have on the environment. We have the ability to express our First Amendment rights electronically, like we have here. Therefore, I have no reservation to say it is time to be environmentally conscious and stop paying for print media like the NY Times.
Think about the trees that would be saved, as well as the energy consumed printing, circulating, recycling and disposing of such a wasteful and irrelevant rag like the NY Times.
Do the right thing for the environment, and send a strong message that biased "reporting" will not be tolerated!! Don't buy the NY Times, and then pass it along to everyone you know.

It may be Grey, but it ain't no "Lady"
Andrew1218, GASP, are you really saying that people actually BUY that newspaper? well sure when it is raining or you have to wrap up some fish, but surely the only people that actually reads the thing are "The Media" and they all work there.

On a serious note, it is amazing how quickly NY,Ny's "Media", divorced itself from the rest of the country after 9/11/01.

Agreed, Andrew
I gave up on the St. Louis Post Dispatch years ago. We only have one major paper here, and the Post is not reliable. Go figure. I'd rather rely on the internet or national news media.

dimwits
Nice article.
What did you expect from the NY Times???? Objectivity??
They have chosen and annointed their president and as with any elitist they are apopletic over a "commoner" potentially being the next VP.
Shows that the Times is "out of touch" with anything west of Buffalo.
To use an Obamaism...at least the paper can be used to wrap fish in.
What fun!!

The Solution is...
Stop buying the NY Times and inform all advertisers that you will not buy their products and services advertised in the NY Times. That is how a Country which honors Free Speech reacts. Now, the Democrats would evoke hate speech laws, threaten liability suits, intimidate, and enact the Fairness Doctrine, so that the Government would control what was said and by whom. Just exactly what O'bama is attempting to do to silence any information regarding his dealings with Ayers and the many others of questionable characters that he has aligned himself with to further his career. Socialism is everybodies enemy, only the Dumbocrats aren't smart enough to realize it.

DANGER!
TheBigMick

"Ah, but what would we use for bird cage liners?"

Using the NYT will get PETA freaks on your back. I tried it once, and my birds died of constipation.

NY Times is not good for birds or fish
I do not trust the ink in newsprint, or the color ink in those useless fliers. You would be surprised the impact these publications have on the environment and the decreasing landfills.
Obviously, the NY Times has lost it's objectivity and has become the final resting place for the leftist/socialist/communist, who was too dumb to become a professsor in a college and/or too ugly to run for office. It is TIME to write the NY Times obituary.

who cares?
I don't ever read the NYT and don't much care what they print, but I've heard a lot of people say that the only thing their paper is good for is fish wrap

The "messiah" speaks!:
"I am the Most Merciful Lord High Man-child Messiah Obama. Thou shall not question me, I am to be fawned over and nothing more." Morde me!!

This fraud truly believes he's a messiah and can't handle intelligent questioning or any references to his endless gaffes, ear, father, mother, changing religion, pastor, wife, smoking, lack of experience, lack of writing on the Harvard Law Review or the fact that the minute he was elected to the Senate he began to run for President.

Fox ran an old interview from when he was stealing John Ryan's seat with the aid of the press and a corrupt judge. He said he'd have to start running the day he was elected and that would be unfair to his constituents. Well to Hades with his constituents because that's just what the man-child did!!!

MINE, MINE MINE! I want it!!!! THAT's O'Vomit.

Times
told the truth about Palin. Tou conservatives choose not to care because like GWB Palin os for abuse of power and cronyism. Palin is GWB in a dress...

Palin is true representative of conservative values: hiring incompetent people to important jobs just because of their ideological purity... banning books and open racism.

She is true conservative.

Greatest Threats to America
Of course Islamic Terrorism is a major threat but not necessarily the greatest threat to the American way of life.
Our greatest threats are :

# 1 - Mainstream Media
# 2 - Democrat Party
# 3 - NEA & Most Universities
# 4 - Trial Lawyers
# 5 - Recent products of our failed education
# 6 - Bloated Bureaucracy
# 7 - US Congress
# 8 - Islamic Terrorists

Times...
...can't be bothered looking into Obama's connections to Bill Ayers, ACORN, Chicago Annenberg Challenge and Tony Rezko.

"Hiring incompetent people to important jobs just before of their ideological purity..." You mean promoting a community organizer through the Chicago machine to a state senate seat, then pretty much a cakewalk to the US senate seat, then after a small taste of that he starts running for PRESIDENT?

Obama is goin to lose and it won't even be close.

The Times
The Times has become such a joke on so many levels and they do not even realize it! This is just further proof of how far they have fallen.

Leo .. I must give you credit ...
where it is due ..
after all, one out of three is not bad for a Liberal.

Palin is a true Conservative! :)

Obama on being a Muslim
Sen. Obama Says The ‘Prettiest Sound On Earth At Sunset’ Is The Muslim Call To Prayer

Obama aka Barry Soetoro attended Muslim school in the Indonesian language, which he still speaks.

“I was a little Jakarta street kid,” he said in a wide-ranging interview in his office He once got in trouble for making faces during Koran study classes in his elementary school, but a president is less likely to stereotype Muslims as fanatics — and more likely to be aware of their nationalism — if he once studied the Koran with them.

http://select.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html ?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated, Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”

You can listen to Obama's prettiest sound at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMBYF1LZ3FI

Egon
You left out the American Criminal Liberties Union. But where on the list should it go?

To Jay @ 00:59
Actually the Old Grey baglady filed divorce papers from rest of America in 1930's when one of its "reporters" lauded ultra-cruelty Joe's (Stalin) "reforms".

Liberal target audience
I've got to believe that the Times has been SO liberal for SO long that they have already lost the subscribers that are expecting actual journalism. Their stock price is in the tank, and if they ever tried to dial back to moderate they'd lose their remaining subscribers.

Pharmaceuticals
I may be a little ahead of myself, but I'll be buying stock in pharmaceuticals, should Mc Cain/ Palin win in November. These leftist nuts will be lining up to renew their prescriptions.

Big Mick
Palin fired a guy who refused to fire the statetrooper just because she wanted him to. She has in nominated unqualified friends and supporters in high places (what is this Republican tendency to cronyism?) and she has been found to have lied in several occasions.

She is corrupted to the core and as such a fine example of conservative Christian: a liar, a fraud and prone to abuse. The astories a her wanting to ban books are also true but then what do you care: your concept of freedom is in line with that of Sarah Palin: freedoms are for only Christianist bigots.

Expecting honest journalism
from the NYT and the rest of the left wing media is like expecting a leopard to change its spots.

Nothing in my memory
has exposed the leftwing bias of the MSM like the Palin phenomenon. Their pathetic attempts to discredit this classy result in only discrediting themselves. The MSM is becoming increasingly irrelevant. It sure is fun to watch!

Leo
Are you actually defending a state trooper who (1) tasered a child (2) poached an animal (shooting a moose illegally) and (3) threatened with deadly harm members of a family?

Sit down before you hurt yourself.

Repeat after me: The republicans will not harm me, the republicans will not harm me, ...

Leo, you sound like a gasbag.
When all else fails, make personal attacks on Governor Palin who is appreciated by 80% of Alaskans. The Slimes is part of the dinosaur media and is on its way out whether it likes it or not.

How silly
So the Times has only run 10 articles on Rezko, while they have run 1 entire article on Palin that was sooo mean. Is Mobray hoping you are idiots?

The liberal columnists in the Times have been critical of Palin, how biased of them. It is almost as if they are liberal columnists.

It is true that the conservative columnists have been more split with one pretending she is qualified and another not able to go that far. But opinion writers will write their opinions.

The Obama article mentioned above portrayed Obama as a machine politician, and so by a liberal version of Mobray could easily have been described as a hit piece. But both pieces (the one on Obama and on Palin) seem to have been well researched and documented pieces on their history. The problem is that most of Palin's history does not fit with the way she tries to portray herself on the campaign trail.

She did not say no, thanks to the bridge to nowhere. She took the money for it and used it for other things. She has been the queen of earmarks, not an opponent. Her biggest acheivement as mayor was building an ice rink. But she botched that so the town is still dealing with the lawsuits. Her biggest acheivement as governor was a pipeline deal that might or might not lead to a natural gas pipeline. This might be a good thing for Alaska, but it is still too soon to tell, and she has misdescribed this as well as if it was a done deal.

Under those circumstances what does one expect a factual article on Palin to look like. Mowbray seems to object to it looking at what she has done. Instead he seems to think it should say over and over (twice not being enough) that she is very popular. She raised taxes on the oil companies and sent the money to the people (that is oddly like an Obama proposal only with more money and fewer people) so it is hardly surprising she is popular.

NY Times
The NY Times is irrelevant. Years ago, the Times was considred the paper of record. Not anymore: today people read the NY Times to see what how catty Maureen Dowd is or how Frank Rich can imitate the Daily Kos: the NY Times is a caricature of itself. It's dwindling readers read it, chuckle, and then they watch FOX or go to Townhall.com for real news!

There is something warm
running down the libs legs. The more they flail away, the more the polls trend against BO:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/latestpolls/in dex.html

Looks like even some "safe" lib states may be coming into play.

McCain has proven he would be a better Commander in Chief based on the strategy to turn the campaign around.

The tizzy will continue and it will be fun to watch.

NY Times
The cream always rises to the top, which is probably why the Times keeps placing Sarah Palin stories as front and center as possible and Obama - Tony Rezko stories hidden deep in its pages hoping the stink will not be noticed.

New York Times? MSM??
The NY Times is old and tired and from a by-gone era when the Liberals abused and destroyed America. It no longer fits or functions. And it definitely is no longer a “biased” piece of media. In fact, it is so old and tired, I would not even call the New York Times a piece of MSM anymore. It’s part of kitsch, or maybe even one of those rumor rags such as Us Weekly or OK! – the ones that my wife loves to read….who by the way, is a liberal. The NY Times just doesn’t have the pretty pictures. I do know that the New York homeless love it for sleeping on though.

Correction
I mean't the New York Times is no longer "unbiased" to my post of 10:40am.

Panic at The NY Times
If the NY Times and elitist media are to be believed that only seasoned political veterans are fit to serve as President and Vice President, then the ideal candidates are: John McCain for President and DICK CHENEY for VP!

The leftist argument is a joke: Palin is too inexperience to be VP and McCain is too old to be President. Trouble is, Obama's experience is even skimpier than Palin's. So the Times is right to panic: they believed the fairytale that as Bush's poll numbers go down, Obama's chances go up.. trouble is, Obama should be 30 points ahead in the polls and at his highest rating, Obama couldn't close the deal.

Obama's and the NY Times' answer to Palin is panic: a Harvard man talking trash and calling a female opponent "pig" is not presidential.

Tigger
A few years ago I made a "Top Ten" list called "The Top Ten Indicators that You Might be Out of Touch With Reality." Somewhere on the list was: "You still think of the New York Times as 'America's Newspaper of Record.'"

Ron
Agree with you I made the same comment just a few minutes ago. I recommended prozac...lots of it!

New York Times = ELLA
The simple fact is this rag of rumor is just doing what George Soros wants it to do and that is to follow the Extremist Leftist Liberal Agenda (ELLA)(note: liberals lover to use anagrams so here is my contribution – enjoy and feel free to use). Simply put, they are campaigning for ELLA, an extreme liberal world, and in the open. What does this mean? Nothing; because the New York Times is irrelevant. The New York Times, as well as you liberal New Yorkers, are too far gone to realize no one gives a crap about what you think or your crap-arse city. Seriously, you are so last century.

The ELLA attack Vice President Nominee Palin in the hopes to be persuasive to the independents and so-called undecided conservatives. Yeah, right, Libs – that is only happening in your party ala women that followed Clinton are overwhelmingly supporting Palin. How do you like those apples?

NY Slimes
What is at the crux of all these articles by the Slimes and the MSM is the belief that libs and dims are just smarter then everyone else. I just wonder why that is?

Everytime I watch

the NBC group, ABC or CBS I question their veracity. Especially since Gibson went goofy on Sarah. I add Gibson to Rather and his forged letter and I hope all Americans understand that whenever NBC, CBS or ABC report any news they are slanting it away from pro-life, pro-traditonal-marriage, pro-freedom, and the average American and slanting it in favor of more taxes, more government, more abortion, more homosexuality and a weaker America.

That is my reaction when I watch them. I do not trust them to be objective. They are no longer news reporters. They are footsoldiers for the left.

Brother, you must be a product of the failed public education system. Pick up a dictionary, or take a grammar/spelling lesson.

I've tried discerning your points, but it's frequently too painful to weed through your horrible grammar, spelling, and diction. The occasional, infrequent typo is understandable. However, your entries are terrible.

Until then, leave the discussion here to the grown-ups.

Leo Reply #12
Of course Palin is a true conservative. What exactly did you think people are so excited about -- that she wears suits with skirts instead of pants?

People all over America are thrilled to see her and hear her, along with her husband Todd, because -- guess what? -- she is just like US. She wants what we want. She cares about what we care about. And she wants to sweep the riff raff outta' Washington just like we do.

The Gray Lady
Methinks the Gray Lady doth protest too much. The irony is that deep below the surface, it's probably not the politics, it's the fact that Palin is a woman that upsets the Gray Lady so much. The Gray Lady so much wants to be the top lady in the world and Palin is pushing her aside.

People READ the NY Times?
The only people who would buy the NY Times are liberals, and those people really use (or have) critical thinking abilities. It doesn't matter what the Times writes, because no one but liberals is going to read that garbage anyway.

Leo
You guys should definitely go with this fired State Trooper. Gov Pallin wanted to fire this guy. This is terrible and a violation of something. What I don't know but it has to be bad. You should stick with it. I mean at the end of the day you will be defending a guy who used a taser on a ten year old boy. Why would any self respecting lib want a guy who tasers a ten year old on a police force? Are you guys now for police brutality? You see how you have lost your minds?

LEO
Putting friends in government? You are either kidding or have a very short memory.

Clinton brought a good part of his Arkansas government to Washington and hurt a lot of people when he did it.

Do you remember when he (or Hillary) fired everybody in the White House Travel Office -- some of which had worked there for years. Mr. Day was in charge of that office and made quite a stink about; however, the media chose to play it down. The Clinton's put their old buddies, the Thompsons, in charge of the travel office.

And, Sir, staffing the travel office with friends was only a tiny bit of the host of folks they brought to DC with 'em.

Does that make it right? Naw, but is shows that it is done across the board.

The Treasonous Times!
What can one expect from the treasonous rat, Arthur Pinch Sulzberger, who controls the voting stock and runs the show as if it were Pravda.

This is the same pinko agitator who once told his father, Arthur Sr., that he would want an American soldier to get killed in a confrontation with a Vietcong soldier. When his dad asked him why, he responded that it was because the American was in his country.

A Marxist president is what Pinchy has always wanted. He will sink to any low in order to destroy Governor Palin.

“All The Propaganda That’s Fit To Print”

The Times is trash
When will this country stop treating the New York Times as a respectable newspaper? Just because it is published in New York, and not designed to look like a comic book, doesn't make the so-called "paper of record" a quality newspaper that should influence anybody. The only thing it's good for is housebreaking a dog.

Andrew
We recycle our newspaper for cleaning windows and mirrors and starting the woodstove. I've read the same argument you make used for books -- we don't need no stinking paper and cardboard. We can all read them on-line. Some interesting studies indicate that people in general don't take on-line information as seriously, so your advice might well lead to a general loss of informational processing -- aka -- a lowering of functional IQ.

Bush kept Clinton Appointees;
It cost him dearly!

Religious Bigotry is Alive and Well
http://news.yahoo.com/comics/uclickcomics/20080909/cx_po_uc /po20080909

That idiot cartoonist Pat Oliphant is at it again, this time displaying his religious bigotry by capitalizing on the fact that Sarah Palin is a Pentecostal--a group Oliphant is not a part of, a group he doesn't understand--therefore a group he despises and derides.

That's what bigotry is--attacking, smearing, ridiculing a group you don't belong to or understand.

If anyone knows how to contact or email him, tell him he's a bigot. If he doesn't think he's a bigot, explain to him what a bigot is.

The NYT performs a service
What would these elitists snobs who perceive the rest of us to be unintellible peons read to stroke their fragile egos? Where would those world class unemployed writers go to enlighten the world. Most of all where would the terrorists go to get the latest leaked infomation about the war on terror?

NY TIMES.
Oh, crap, is that waste of trees still in print?

Factcheck.org
Before you go all apoplectic over Sarah Palin, go to Factcheck.org and get the real skinny. Otherwise, be smart and shut up.

"Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements.
She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.

She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She’s been registered as a Republican since May 1982.

Palin never endorsed or supported Pat Buchanan for president. She once wore a Buchanan button as a "courtesy" when he visited Wasilla, but shortly afterward she was appointed to co-chair of the campaign of Steve Forbes in the state.

Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum.""

No Comics
As a child growing up in New York, I was viscerally suspicious of the only newspaper that had no comics. It seemed that they couldn't distinguish fantasy from reality, so there was no special section. Frank Rich got wherever he is by writing about imaginary people in artificial places; i.e., he was a drama critic. He just never got enough experience in the real world to make the transition. He writes not of real people but of the characters in his imagination; any resemblance to real persons or situations is purely coincidental.

Exposing what Obama is doing
What the bloggers have been doing is cynical and despicable: They've been circulating unchecked rumors and outright fabrications to create, as THEY themselves have put it, a "drip, drip, drip" of suspicion around Sarah Palin to make voters uneasy about her.

On their own left-wing and pro-Obama blogs, they are quite open about this tactic. They have even said that Obama's disclaimers that "families should be off limits from criticism" is just his way to maintain plausible deniability--he never specifically told THEM to stop, so they won't.

If you surfed the left-wing blogs, you would see that this is their game. They are quite open about it.

And I really wish the McCain-Palin campaign would call them out on it. The best way to discredit these leftists is to quote them in front of the entire electorate. Verbatim.

In fact, TH should have a page devoted entirely to exposing the excesses of the left-wing blogosphere.

All the news fit to print
As a kid I remember riding down the West Side Highway and seeing the slogan "All the news that's fit to print" in big letters on the Times building. I always thought that motto was what separated The Times from rags like The Enquirer which always had some loopy story on their front page. But as the years went by I saw the Times degenerate into a kind of Enquirer where the editorials became obnoxious and one-sided and moved from inside the paper to the front page. It's sad for me to see this once proud newspaper taken over by anti-American, hate mongering leftists. It's time for The Times to close it's doors but I'm worried that then the rats running it will get away and wreak havoc somewhere else.

NY Times err: Slimes
I will put it very bluntly to Leo and all of the rest of the trolls from Daily Kos/Huff Po/ Communist Party. If you support the views of the "Slimes" you are a party to those that hate America. The fact that you are free to throw your b.s. on this conservative site about your Messiah is proof that even those who hate this country are given freedoms you could never have in Obama's muslim countries. And face facts; Obama is a Muslim and the majority of voters know it. The NY Simes had committed treason when it reported on our secret methods of surveillance to prevent another 9/11. The bottom line is that Obama will not win because he is black. It is because he is black and pushed the Affirmative Action button that he has lasted this long.

nyt...the newspaper of record????
NO!! It's the newspaper of Jason Blair!! 'nuff said.'

the nyt, nothing more than fish wrap
the problem with the nyt's is they actually fall for the myth the are the paper of record.

But changing times have shown the trolls at the times are fully in the bag along with the rest of the media for the phony from chicago, the person wright mentored for 20 years to believe blacks are victims 24/7/365 of racists whites.

But other than enthrall the dimwitsd at his rallies what has the messiah done but promise to raise taxes and grow govt.

But now those who make excuses for the fraud are telling us that b hussein doesn't want americans to think their taxes will be raised.

Now the spin is that americans need to be good citizens and share their good fortune with those who have been bypassed by hard work and the rewards that accrue from seeking success.

But exactly why b hussein fully believes that the producers somehow must share their success with the losers who are part of the dims plantation of entitlement still defies all understanding

The basic notion that under b hussein he will head up the department of redistributing the countries wealth still needs to be fully explained.

The messiah's notion that all have a right to share in the things they can't earn is more pablum from the left. B hussein fully accepts the notion that many have too much and others have too little and he alone has the wisdom to decide how everything shoul;d be allocated.

Thus in b hussein's world you are guilty of having too much if you have worked hard to achieve success and nothing more than a victim if you haven't the where with all to assume and take care of your own responsibilities.

And this is the fraud the times pushes as the savior of america

Whatever it touches, it destroys!!

Nice list E, but I put trial lawyers ahead of the media. Egon illustrates what even the dopiest of liberals should understand. Whatever liberalism touches, it destroys. Rush is 100 percent right. Only those with the severest form of the most dangerous mental disorder can't see the elephant in the room. How's that welfare and the war on poverty coming? I thought so!

Shelly
Every time someone uses the term "neocons" in the derogatory, it makes you look like you believe in the black helicopter conspiracy theory stuff. Maybe your coffee house liberal friends are impressed by the term, but most of us out here in the real world observe the term to be used by those who lack the intellect for true debate.

2 years of coaching, fluffing / buffing

Obama spent millions on himself:

personal coaches
briefing books
personal advisors
personal makeover
wife's makeover
PAPER SHREDDERS to shred past records
policy experts
Hollywood actor training
etc.

Palin only has had the briefing books for 3 weeks

Obama still running against PALIN ?

Obama like a cat on a hot tin roof; jumping allover the place
on issues
on his past
on his lies about his lies
on who he is running against
where he has been what he has done
which version he supports / supported

Running against Palin
then running against UNNAMED Aides
from the McCain camp he declared without evidence

WHO reads the NYT::

the opposition for giggles

no one takes the NYT serious:

if it is in the NYT it is all lies, fabrications, distortions, exaggerations, slander, slime and sleaze

5,000 other versions found around the country:

If the times is so HOT why is it failing ?

Ivy League Insecurity
The real terror for the Times and its isolated elite readership is that people will be able to vote for a ticket that has no Ivy League grads, much less Ivy League lawyers. Now Sulzy knows how George III must have felt.

Death of a Newspaper

Years from now historians will dissect the death of a newspaper - citing the NYT.

It's readership base IS dying. Young libs get their news from Dailykos and John Daley. "Paper" is usually reserved for rolling joints.

The noise we hear from the NYT would best be described as an agonizing bellow of a dying paper.

Why waste cutting down a tree

why waste another tree on the NYT

save the trees

The decline of the Mainstream Media
What the MSM fails to acknowledge is that by taking the hard line against conservatives and by doing so they have cut off a huge chunk of an audiences and/or readers. Because of that, many newspapers are going under, such as the NY Times again (and George Soros can’t keep bailing them out). Their readership is down, lower than at any other time in its history. The American public has stopped watching network news coverage in favor of Fox News. CNN and MSNBC cable channels rating are in the basement. Americans are no longer willing to accept their slanted news coverage on the liberal left. Americans have rejected their coverage and have moved on to bigger and more truthful news coverage.

Liberalism is on the decline in the world, but the diehards in this Country continue to push their agenda on the American public. Movie and television audiences are also retreating, partly because of the liberal messages they inject into the work. I don’t know about you, I am sick of being lectured by Hollywood egomaniacs who continue to send a message to other Americans. And, the public has sent our message back by rejecting their messages and films. Hollywood and the MSM will never understand what the public wants, and for them it’s not about the money anymore, its will always be about the message. And yet liberals Democrats in our Country continue to send the same messages, over and over again. It’s just a different name and different faces, but the message is still the same.

Sarah Palin is
HOT and HILLARY is NOT.

So even if Obama dumps Biden, he still loses because the question will be...

which veep do you want to look at for the next for years...

Hillary in her pantsuits or...

Sharpshooter Sarah Palin in her red high heels?

I'll take the beauty contest winner, thank you very much.

Too bad you Dems don't have any good-looking women over on your side of the aisle to run against Sarah Palin.

Well..

Virtue has its rewards and Sarah is ours.

NYT
"The Old Gray Lady she ain't what she used to be."
Now if I read something in the NYT that I agreewith, I reexamine my position to see where I went wrong.

NEO this. NEO that. NEO those guys. Neo neo neo neo. Did I mention anything about the neoneos? I, for one, am impressed with any one that uses the prefix Neo.

The reason conservatives never use a term like Neolibs is that we already have adequate terms. Like socialist, marxist, elitist, etc.

I was brought up to respect women and to show deference to them; seating them first, opening doors for them, and helping them with heavy loads, etc. In today's world, if you do anything that is just decent and respectful, you may get charged with sexual harassment.

Well, you know what I say to this and to all the BS Political Correctness that has been pushed on us by government, the media and repulsive and indecent sit-coms and movies being produced for the most part in the pervert capital of the World, Hollywood, California. I say, to hell with Political Correctness.

I will do and say what I want, and I don't care if it "hairlips the Pope" to use an old country boy saying from the South From Which I am Proud to be a product. In the South, to use a Hank Williams, Jr. Song line, "We say Sir, and We Say Mam, and if you ain't into that, we don't give a damn." You flaming liberals have already screwed up most of the country, and are doing a pretty good job even down here, but there is a large grass roots movement of good old boys all over this country in the lower 48 and Alaska who are sick of Liberals and Liberalism being forced on us.

I will continue to go out of My Way to Be Politically Incorrect, and do and say what I please. The last I heard, we still have a Constitution and a Bill Of Rights in force. I be damned if any government official or other bureaucrat, employer or anybody else tell me that they can suspend my rights, including the right to free thoughts and speech.

I will say howdy mam, howdy sir, and I will open a door for a female who presents as being a decent lady.

You can take the decency out of America, but you cannot take The Decency Out of A Southern Gentleman. That is what we have that you Liberals from Socialist States don't seem to understand. That is why you all don't get it why so many Americans Love Sarah Palin. She is Real Just Like Us.

The Times died in the Thirties!!!!!
The Sulzbergers, while ferreting THEIR relatives out of NAZI Germany fought tooth and nail to keep the U.S. out of WW2 until Pearl Harbor. So long as nobody named Sulzberger went to the Camps they didn't care.

They cheered however when that lying weasel of a dirt bag "journalist" Duranty, who was on their staff, got a Pullitzer for articles praising Stalin and denying the murder of 30 MILLION Soviet citizens. HE created the image of a "worker's paradise".

REFORMED!
I would like to introduce myself as a reformed Moderate Liberal. In the 1970's I supported all of the new movements moving across the country. Fast forward to 2008 and a lot of living experiences behind me I can no longer accept the word liberal to myself, moderate or otherwise. The nasty, vile and contemptuous flow of comments from the media and press against Sarah Palin is certainly a group I will no longer associate with. What bothers me most is that in a free and open democracy a bias media and libelous press is a very dangerous thing. They are spewing out lies as though it is their right. I don't want censorship, just accountability. Didn't Dan Rather learn that several years ago when he kept pressing forged documents about George Bush as being fact? They will all sink their own ships, the public is catching on. As my favorite hero of the Alamo said when he was elected twice by the State of Tennessee, as an Independent, to the USA congress, "So Say the People". They will in November.

Threat list
I respectfully disagree. Our politically correct government monopoly education and indoctrination system is the #1 threat. Vouchers are the solution.
