Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Since taking office in 2000, former KGB chief-turned Russian President Vladimir Putin has built strong personal, political and military ties to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il.Putin has sold Iran and North Korea billions of dollars worth of arms and even nuclear technology. He is arming America's worst enemies for war, and in so doing, Russia has joined the "Axis of Evil." Yet on this critical issue, official Washington seems to be in a true state of denial.

In December 2005, Russia signed a $1 billion arms deal with Iran, providing the radical Islamic regime in Tehran high-speed missile and other high-tech weaponry, despite Ahmadinejad's call to annihilate the U.S. and Israel two months earlier. Russia is building nuclear facilities for Iran, has trained over 1,000 Iranian nuclear scientists, and running political interference for Iran at the U.N. to prevent us for imposing economic sanctions that could slow down Ahmadinejad's feverish bid for nuclear weapons.

But that is not all. Consider Putin's dangerously close ties to Kim Jong Il:

* On July 19-20, 2000, Putin became the first President of Russia ever to visit Pyongyang. He met with Kim Jong Il and explored ways to rebuild the once-close relationship between Russia and North Korea.

* In December 2000, the Kremlin announced its desire to dramatically increase military sales to North Korea.

* In April 2001, the Kremlin announced an official agreement to modernize North Korea's military .

* In August 2001, Kim Jong Il visited Russia and met with Putin in Moscow.

* In August 2002, Kim Jong Il visited Russia again, meeting Putin in Vladivostokhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/2204146.stm .

* In 2003, the Kremlin refused to rule out further arms sales to North Korea, despite increasingly dangeorus and provocative moves by Kim Jong Il.

* In 2003, Asian intelligence services became increasingly concerned that "North Korea and Iran are in talks over a plan to export Pyongyang'sTaepodong-2 long-range ballistic missiles to Tehran and to jointly develop nuclear warheads ....The two countries have been negotiating the deal for about a year and are likely to reach an agreement in mid-October," according to defense sources "familiar with North Korean affairs."

* In 2004, the CIA estimated that North Korea had "at least" six nuclear weapons and by 2007 could produce enough highly enriched uranium to produce six new nuclear weapons a year

* In 2004, the New York Times reported that the International Atomic Energy Agency recently found strong evidence that the 1.7 metric tons of the uranium in Libya's possession came from North Korea. The uranium was described as being unusable for nuclear fuel, but was enough material to make one nuclear bomb, noted the web site MissileThreat.com. The Times said "that a new level of suspicion now lurks, that North may have sold uranium to other countries or to terrorists."

* In August and September 2004, U.S. intelligence officials and analysts began worrying openly about the threat of North Korea and Iran firing nuclear missiles at American cities off the back of commercial container ships, giving us little or no warning before impact and detonation. Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld said one Middle East nation already has "launched a ballistic missile from a cargo vessel,"  referring to Iran. "They [took] a short-range, probably Scudmissile, put it on a transporter-erector launcher, lowered it in, taken the vessel out into the water, peeled back the top, erected it, fired it, lowered it, covered it up. And the ship that they used was using a radar and electronic equipment that was no different than 50, 60, 100 other ships operating in the immediate area." Air Force Gen. Ralph Eberhart, commander of the U.S. Northern Command, said at the time that the danger of ship-based missiles is growing. "I believe it's just a matter of time until the terrorists try to use a...maritime attack against us. I believe that attack could come in terms of bringing a ship into port, whether it's [carrying] high explosives or whether it's weapons of mass destruction." Asian affairs analyst Richard Fisher told the Washington Times: "Should North Korea adopt this strategy, it would have the option of trying to infiltrate and pre-position its missiles in Canada, Central America or even the continental United States. U.S. missile defenses do not currently defend against either launches from the south of or within the contiguous 50 states."

* In 2005, Putin actually personally awarded a medal of honor to the North Korean dictator who is starving his own people and threatening the world with nuclear war.

* In August 2006, a Russian newspaper reported that U.S. officials are increasingly concerned that North Korea is laundering money through Russian banks and in the process helping North Korea sell ballistic missile technology to Iran, Syria and Pakistan. "The American Center for Nonproliferation Studies released a report yesterday claiming that North Korean authorities, with the help of private Russian companies, are providing ballistic missile to third countries, Iran, Syria and Pakistan in particular," reported Kommersant.

"This information comes at the same time as a scandal is unfolding over the North Korean regime's transfer of a considerable part of its bank accounts to Russia, skirting American sanctions. Although these accusations are only coming from NGOs right now, they may become the case of the next strain in Russian-American relations." U.S. officials are increasingly concerned that "Russian firms help North Korea develop missile technology, Pyongyang sells it to other problem countries, and the proceeds from those sales are deposited in North Korean accounts in Russian banks. It is only a small step form that picture to the accusation of violating nonproliferation rules."

A red storm is rising. Mr. Putin gave a speech last year calling the collapse of the Soviet Union the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century. He wants to rebuild the glory of Mother Russia. He is increasingly Russia's military budget. He is arming our worst enemies. He is suppressing dissent inside Russia and centralizing power to himself in the Kremlin. Vladimir Putin is a New Czar in the making and he is building a new anti-democratic alliance against the United States and the West.

Thus far, Washington has done little to confront Mr. Putin effectively over Russia's increasingly dangerous ties to North Korea and Iran. But the Bush administration must immediately make it clear that Russia is becoming a real and growing threat to American national security. The President and top Congressional leaders from both parties must lay out the consequences of Russia continuing down this path. And they must do so immediately. The urgency and the stakes could not be higher.

Merry Christmas. This might be the last. We've got enemies on the right, on the left, coming from the air, coming from the sea.

And, Washington, what are they doing there? Oh, yeah, Bush will be blamed for it all, of course.
If only he had "talked" more. If only he had built more of a coalition. If only, blah, blah.

The morons on the left won't believe any of the threats so we will just wait like sitting ducks to be blown up. Only then will Congress do anything if any of them are still alive.

Hey, let's all have a rally singing, "Give Peace a Chance".

One way to get them distracted...
I think part of the problem is that our State Dept has cont'd to put pressure on Russia to restrain itself when dealing the the Chechen jihadists. And make no mistake the Chechens are not freedom fighters but Wahhabism has taken over the Chechen/Dagestan region of the north Caucasus. They are the same strain of radical Islam that we are fighting. The Russians have endured the Dubrovka Theatre and Beslan School massecre's(156 children murdered by Chechen jihadists). All the while our State Dept, instead of offering help, did nothing but criticize the Russians and insist that they show restraint & only negotiate with the Chechen Mujaheddin. Had we, early on, tried to partner w/the Russians against our common jihadists enemies, I think things would have been different right now. Instead we did everything we could to enrage and alienate the Russians and try to superimpose our PC values on them. One more note. We've heard that Alexander Litvinenko was an X-KBG agent. Maybe. But at the time of his death he was a Muslim convert linked to the radical Chechen element. I have an opinion piece on my blog about this. If you have time check it out. DD

Communism is dead!?
One of the biggest jokes in history will be the perceived win that the United States had over Communism and Russia. Russia has not been considered an enemy scene the late 80's, but they never ceased to be our enemies! Russia was involved with the OIL FOR FOOD PROGRAM; former Russia scientists have helped the ISLAMIST with valuable information on nuclear programs, and/or; nuclear bombs and the materials expertise on how to make them! We are constantly reminded that there are former USSR suitcase NUKES that are on the black market being sold to those OIL RICH ANTI-AMREICAN/WEST/JEWISH/ISREAL Islamist who have the money to upkeep these bombs to attack the USA!
Not to mention the threat that the RED CHINESE are to the USA. We constantly try to tame the HUNGRY TIGER with greenbacks, but they won’t be satisfied until they devour the chicken dinner AKA: American Bald Eagles!
When will the America face the fact that:
1 MOST of our media is presenting the news in our ENEMIES point of view?
2 We are being infiltrated from Mexico, the Middle-East, Russia and China: being sabotaged from within!

One more thing!
Oh, yea, we continue to try to negotiate with those whose only stipulation is that we DIE!

I'm posting the whole article from your link in case people don't follow your link.
Merry Christmas from Ahmedinejad. He knows the UN has no teeth.

"By NASSER KARIMI, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 44 minutes ago
TEHRAN, Iran -
Iran vowed Sunday to push forward efforts to enrich uranium and to change its relations with the international nuclear watchdog after the
U.N. Security Council imposed sanctions designed to stop the country's disputed nuclear program.

Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the Security Council would regret voting in favor of the sanctions, saying he was sorry the West lost its chance to make amends with Iran.

"I am sorry for you who lost the opportunity for friendship with the nation of Iran. You yourself know that you cannot damage the nation of Iran an iota," the state-run news agency, IRNA, quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

Ahmadinejad also said the
United Nations must accept Iran's nuclear program and warned that sanctions would not harm his country.

"You have to accept that Iran has the technology of producing nuclear fuel. And it will celebrate it in coming anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution in February," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said Iran pledged to change its relationship with the U.N. nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Association.

"We are not obliged and it is not expected that cooperation with the IAEA continues at the same former level," Hosseini told reporters. He did not provide details about what would change.

Iran's parliament on Sunday voted to urge the country's administration to revise its cooperation with the IAEA but did not set a timeline or provide further details. Many legislators chanted "Death to America" after the vote.

"The government should seriously and strongly continue the important issue of peaceful nuclear technology with prudence and foresight. It should never accept such illogical pressures," more than 200 legislators said in a statement read on state-run radio.

The U.N. Security Council resolution — the result of two months of tough negotiation — orders all countries to stop supplying Iran with materials and technology that could contribute to its nuclear and missile programs. It also freezes the Iranian assets of 10 key companies and 12 individuals related to those programs.

If Iran refuses to comply, the council warned it would adopt further nonmilitary sanctions, but the resolution emphasized the importance of diplomacy in seeking guarantees "that Iran's nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes."

Iran insists its nuclear program is intended to produce energy, but the Americans and Europeans suspect its ultimate goal is the production of weapons.

Ahmadinejad also downplayed the resolution, saying it would be the Security Council that regretted it, not Iran.

"This will not damage the nation of Iran, but its issuers will soon regret this superficial and nil act," he said, speaking to a group of war veterans from the 1980-88 Iran-
Iraq war at the former U.S. Embassy in Tehran.

The United States has said it hopes the resolution will clear the way for tougher measures by individual countries, particularly Russia.

The Bush administration had pushed for tougher penalties. But Russia and China, which both have strong commercial ties to Tehran, balked.

To get their votes, the resolution dropped a ban on international travel by Iranian officials involved in nuclear and missile development and specified the banned items and technologies.

It says the council will review Iran's actions in light of a report from the head of the IAEA, requested within 60 days, on whether the country has suspended uranium enrichment and complied with other IAEA demands.

It also says sanctions will end when the board of the IAEA confirms that Iran has complied with all its obligations.

The six countries trying to get Iran to curb its nuclear program — Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China and the United States — offered Tehran a package of economic and political incentives if it agreed to suspend uranium enrichment. But Iran refused and rejected an Aug. 31 council deadline to freeze enrichment.

Earlier Sunday, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani said the resolution made his country more "decisive in realizing our nuclear aims."

"From Sunday morning, we will begin activities at Natanz — site of 3,000-centrifuge machines — and we will drive it with full speed. It will be our immediate response to the resolution," Iran's Kayhan newspaper quoted Larijani as saying.

Iran first showed its ability to enrich uranium in February, when it produced a small batch of low-enriched uranium using a first set of 164 centrifuges at its pilot complex in Natanz.

Iran has said it intends to move toward large-scale uranium enrichment involving 3,000 centrifuges by late 2006, and then expand the program to 54,000 centrifuges, which spin uranium gas into enriched material to produce nuclear fuel."

Gee Pitbull
I know everything that is wrong with humanity is caused by us 'libdolts'......but I could have sworn I heard President Bush call 'Vladimir' his friend. Doesn't President Bush know Vladimir's heart?

pitbull, The President is responsible ..
... for foreign policy implemented through the Secretary of State, not the Congress, according to my copy of the Constitution.

As far as I can determine, the US does not have a firm policy regarding Russia, except that the President has "looked into (Putin's) soul, and he is a good man". That policy must have caused the Secretary of State to support the pathetic UN resolution on Iran's nuclear program that was gutted by Putin's Russia.

This President is not living in the real world regarding the real Axis of Evil (Iran, North Korea, China, and Russia). Bush is uttering Clintonesque statements about what the US will and will not accept without backing them with meaningful action. He is leading us into a major confrontation with the Axis by showing weakness.

This lifelong Republican supported the President, but has lost all confidence in him and his Secretary of State.

So many enemies
so little time.
I'd be interested in knowing what these posters would intend to do about Russia. Let see, they have oil & gas reserves, a veto in the U.N. and, oh yeah a whole flock of nukes. They're busy making energy deals while we sit mired in Iraq.
We refuse to sell F-16s to Hugo, he buys Russian planes. Putin's laughing all the way to the bank.

JOINED the Axis of Evil? When did Russia
leave the Axis of Evil?

This is the foolishness that has led to many of our present problems. When the USSR broke up, do you think the Russians complied happily? Do you think they gave up their place as major world power without a wimper? Do you think the KGB and all the evil tyrants just vanished?

Well our stupid government seemed to think so.

Under the oversight of the Clinton administration, who hate the military as well as the Libratarians who didn't want to spend money on defense, the military was all but dismantled in the years following the "end" of the Cold War.

But did the Cold War really end, or just go into hybernation? The Commies in the Soviet Union went into remission, waiting for the "immune system" of the Free World to become compromised from within.

Our government is so stupid, it thought it a good idea to sell off our ports of entry to the effing Red Chinese, for krimany's sake! And then they wanted to license a Middle Eastern firm to run one of our nation's major ports as well!

What the heck is wrong with our nation's "leaders?"

Putin beware of this man!
Beware of Putin bearing "gifts"! My grandfather ran away from the Czar (thank God). Putin and his amalgm of communism and perisstroka is worse. He plays with us in the West and supports all our enemies. Never mind all this Lib/Conserve dispute..we are all in this together and America mus get armed to the teeth. Get out of that hell hole in Iraq and get prepared for the big one! And I say ...re arm Germany and Japan..we will need them! Oh "Ironony" how cruel thy sting!

Gregdn- good idea! Lets send bombers
over to Hugo Chavez- and then drop a few loads on his head just to show what they can do.

Oops! He isn't there anymore to purchase them?

Oh well.

Gregdn writes:
"We refuse to sell F-16s to Hugo, he buys Russian planes. Putin's laughing all the way to the bank...."

Please Gregdn... please tell me this was your attempt at satire!!!

If that was a serious comment, you really need to think a little deeper.

We can only hope Hugo is buying Putin's planes! It seems to me Russian/Soviet military hardware, including aircraft, hasn't had a real sterling record against U.S. arms (ask Muammar al-Gaddafi & Saddam).

Hugo is going to arm... and we'll probably have to fight him sooner or later. So better his arms are inferior!

russians
remember when the berlin wall came down and russia was hurting financialy, guess who bailed them the usa. then a little later came reports of the government in russia was building a underground city to withstand a nuke attack, then they were building a new flock of nuke missles,so much for them being friends with the west and they did all this with our money. even our allies have been caught selling our technology to our enimies, israel sold f16s to china, japans toshiba sold our quiet submarine propeller tech.to russia so now there new buds the communist chineese probably have it,we had the most powerful military in the world but we either sell our technology to others or its stolen and that will come back to haunt us. our unfair trade relations with china has benefited them so much they are building the biggest military in the world and still growing, you dont build something that big just for defence. when will our leaders stop this suicide of america.

Peppermint
Thanks for the poem on the other thread...I read Warrior's post and decided to stay out of the fray...Wasn't that article "informative"? It's amazing that people harbor sympathy for this guy. And, Russia's Putin doesn't seem to be far behind,YIKES!!!!

Would we use our WMD???
I think that the rest of the world believes that we won't. This nation does not resemble the nation that existed during WWII. We the people have lost the ability to think as a nation. We are much too focused either on ourselves and our own agendas or blaming someone else for our problems.

Saddam must have believed President Bush would be just like Clinton, all bark and no bite, or else he would have gotten himself and his ill begotten sons into a spider hole a lot sooner. I don't know if he had WMDs or not, doesn't matter they had time to move them if they did and if they didn't doesn't mean they wouldn't. I don't believe for a minute that Saddam was going to sit around and watch Bin Ladin get all the glory, he was much too blood thirsty for that. Having an ally in that region was a good strategy and still is if the Iraqi people can just speed up the progress to conincide with the impatience the American citizenry is showing right now.

farmers wife
it is a good thing that we stopped saddam because if we had waited further down the road we would have had to go back to iraq when he would have had time to have bio weapons on bombs and maybe a nuke then things would have been a lot worse for our troops, the libs would rather wait till he was shooting rockets over here. people just dont get that this thing goes beyond iraq, even if we leave iraq in a good state of peace the enimies of america will still be out there trying to destroy us.

Does anyone wonder?
Where does the money come from for N. Korea to buy all this expensive hardware & technology?

What commerce does N. Korea have?
N. Korea can't even feed it's people.
What natural resource do they have to sell?

Age of Proxies
Clearly, America has numerous enemies. The list seems to be growing. Some of our own citizens even support our known enemies. So, who can you trust?

By now, we should be laying down the law toward renegade countries. This,of course, assumes America is still a global power and in-charge. Financial imbalances and oil dependency have weakened our hand. Many Americans still don't take the terrorist threat seriously.

Our politicans are soft and not up to dealing with Iran or N.Korea, Russia or China. Many politicans are simply not the kind of people who are inclined to look out for other's interests or think much about the future. I don't know how far I can trust our own elected officials. There is a growing ethics and communication problem at home. I'm afraid we are in decline and don't know it.

north korea
i think they are getting money from iran and china to keep america in a constant state of worry, kim jong ill is buds with the little guy in iran together they will both be a nuke power with missles able to reach the usa with help from china when they get mad at america for trying to stop the unfair trade policies that are making china the biggest military in the world and weakening our economy with the second bigest trade deficit behind the one we have with japan, but japan seems to be an ally probably because they depend on the usa to protect them from korea so we are pals with japan.

This nation is soft
and lacks the will to do anything tough and courageous or condone any action that isn't quiickly done (like bombing from thousands of feet up and no boots on the ground). The voices on the left are appealing to those who think this nation is bad and everyone else is good, and to those who are afraid, and to those who wish us ill. Russia is on the left and always will be atracted to others on the left and think that their interests are best served by others on the left. It will never truly be our ally. Bush was foolish to trust Putin. Keep those missles pointed at Russia. Beware of those democrats who are now advocating diplomacy without threats.

gunner
I am sure they have a surprise coming their way.
Every war America has ever fought has unvieled a little surprise.
Like batteries of .50 water cooled BMG came as a big surprise to the Spanish on San Juan Hill.
It has been over 65 years since America has unvieled a new CBN weapon.
You know we have one.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is probably much closer to his 72 virgins than he knows.
Sort of like some guy on your front porch with a matchlock gun threatening your family.
How long before he sees some modern arms technology?

my opine
yes we do have new weapon systems coming out and there pretty unbelievable for conventional type warfare senarios ,but if nukes start being used its a pretty moot situation if they manage to hit us with it. but i would guess that israel will attack iran if they know a nuke is being put on a missle or possibly we shoot any such missle down before it can get near us, then hit them hard with submarine nukes to stop any further agression.

A military regime
...looks more and more like the only option that will save this country from itself. The enemies from within are the problem. They incessantly work to soften the will of the masses and keep them occupied with trivia. The masses, the "voters" have been so extensively brainwashed that they accept as natural and irreversible the mass killing of the unborn, the skyrocketing of the crime rates, the destruction of the education system, becoming dependent on the OPEC thugs while we refuse to build atomic plants or even extract the oil we have all around us, the practical disappearance of the national borders - each one of these things alone an easily avoidable CALAMITY. "We the people" accept all of this as if nothing has really happened. The masses will accept just as natural and irreversible our MILITARY surrender to whoever happens to be the first to ask for it and without firing a shot.

We are being softened, honed, prepared for that day by our truly mortal enemies who live and breathe and work among us. Many of them are politicians, most of them in the media, government bureaucracies, universities, charitable organizations and the myriad of obscure activist committees and coalitions they fund and support, multi-national corporations, foreign governments working against us on our own soil, etc. etc.

The only hope we have now is a military coup and subsequent military rule. The current form of government is clearly selling us down the river. It has ZERO credibility with the country and the world. We have become a joke, a clown, when a nincompoop like H. Chavez comes to New York, climbs upon a dais and therefrom calls the president of OUR COUNTRY "the devil" and does not even get arrested when he should have been condemned to death and executed all within one day for his CRIME...but I forgot we live in the UNITED STATES OF THE LAWYERS where it takes generations to execute convicted and condemned murderers, where convicted child molesters by the hundreds of thousands live freely among us, where the government can take my land and give it to any one of you who will build something on it that will provide more taxes for the government, where the government decides how much rent I can charge for my back house if I want to rent it out...

I have no doubt that most of the country, the "silent majority" will gladly support the military government ot that it will be more faithful to the constitution than the so-called "elected" officials we have today.

Merry Christmas!

IT'S NOT THE TIME TO STAND UP AMERICA...
Reading the flurry, and buzz of responces, a very sobering awareness has gripped me.

Seriously, friends it's not the time for America to Stand up, it's time for us [ as many as will, at least] to kneel down and pray. And pray fervently. Especially for our children, and our grandchildren.

Amazingly, it's about to get extremely uglier "out there" more than we will be able to express in words. One Biblical discription of such a time coming tells that "... men's hearts shall fail them out of fear...". Millions will suffer massive heart attacks and die from merely witnessing what will be occuring world wide.

Many in this forum may not live enough years to see this, but it's coming on hard at our near generations to follow.

Let's forget the "God bless America" part, and ask that "God forgive America" for starters.

Pepperming, Darvin Dowdy...someone with
a Blog look this theory up...

The United States started moving left as the population shift from rural to urban. When the population became more urban than rural, the country became infested with welfare/entitlement/gov't gimmee program hands held out and there was, naturally, a schidtpot full of reprobate politicians willing to give them anything they want in return for a seat in Washington.

Sheesh -
So sick of it -

How many threads ago was it I said:
>Putin will let the Muzzies do their dirty work and destroy the USA
>Then he will turn their refuges into glass parking lots and pick up the pieces, from Indonesia to the Middle East thru Europe and across the pond.

I thought we might have had about 10 years, but the rot within - MSM, totally incompetent president and congress, uncaring population - will suck the timetable back to perhaps a year.

Is there a possibility of an awakening?

NOT VERY DAMN LIKELY!

I'm an eternal optimist and would surmise that Americans ALWAYS do our best when we're backed into a corner. Wake Island springs to mind as does Guadalcanal aka Starvation Island. From Valley Forge to Belleau Woods to Omaha Beach to the Pusan perimeter to Khe Shan and onward, we've always fought the hardest when the chips are down.

I'm hoping for a massive backlash from the American people once we've had enough of the scumbags in DC, the Mexican invaders, and the Muslim terrorists. I'm thinking that the next attack will do it and believe me, we'll be hit AGAIN!

Stock up on food, guns, and ammo.
