A Morally Confused Obama

Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

Why can’t Obama “close the deal?” asks Hillary.  She could better spend her time asking herself that question, since not long ago she was the presumptive nominee.  But let’s help her out.

He’s failing his own main claim to worthiness.  Barack Obama has responded to the criticism that he lacks experience by asking us to vote for him based on his judgment.  Therefore it is fair to look into what kind of judgment he displays.

Answering a question about abortion Obama called his own daughters "miracles."  So far I am with him.

But then he said, "I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

Wow, after outing his Grandma for bigoted speech, he is now offering to kill the grandchildren to avoid any unpleasantness in the family.

Which is it?  Are children miracles or are they punishment?  A miracle is an act of God.  That is the definition of the word; it is not a figure of speech meaning something nice or something special.  A miracle is of a supernatural nature.

How does a man talk of teaching morality and values and then declare that he would kill one of God's miracles because he wouldn't want his daughters to bear the consequences of their own actions?  This is sound judgment?

What kind of value system teaches a girl that she should be responsible enough to avoid teenage pregnancy, but if she fails – and certainly many do - we should ensure that she suffers no penalty or consequence by killing the baby?  Perhaps Obama didn’t mean that as one of the values lessons.  Maybe that was the moral one.  Maybe I’m the one who is confused.

“Honey, you are my little miracle, but don’t break anything in the house.  However, if you do break the cookie-jar I want there to be cookies in the bread box so that you don’t suffer the penalty of no cookies.”

Perhaps this is why Obama did not have the judgment to see that unapologetic Weather Underground domestic terrorist William Ayers was not the best person to spend time with professionally, personally and politically, much less morally.  When asked about it he pretended that Ayers was just someone from the hood.

Apologists for Obama, including Chicago Mayor Daley, say that Ayers terrorist bombing activities took place in turbulent times 40 years ago and we should all move on.  Really?  Suppose we dig up an unapologetic Klan member who bombed some black churches during those turbulent times.  Would Obama and all of his sycophants "move on?"

Perhaps this is why Obama could not see the problem with his minister’s wild conspiracy theories about the American government creating AIDS, selling drugs to black people and controlling the KKK.  He took the man on as a spiritual and political advisor.  Certainly Obama has chided Wright a bit, because he was forced to, but will not “deny” him even once before the rooster crows.

Perhaps this is why Obama could not see a problem with political operative Tony Rezko, now on trial in Chicago, helping him get a mansion at a discount, even though the Chicago Tribune had outed Rezko as a shady character a year before the deal.

Perhaps this is why Obama could not see the broken, filthy, boarded up buildings Rezko was supposedly saving to create housing for the poor and disadvantaged.  This rip-off of both the taxpayers and the poor happened in the district overseen by wise State Representative Barack Obama, the caring community worker.

Perhaps this is why Obama defended anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan’s “work in the community” even though the Senator had said that Don Imus should be fired and no one like Imus would ever work on Obama’s staff.  Imus also has worked in the community but for some reason that didn’t count.

Perhaps it is that Barack Obama lacks a true moral compass.

He certainly lacks judgment.

Bad Judgement All Over
When asked if he was going to run for POTUS, Obama said he would stay in Illinois and work his full term in senate before he ever considers running for POTUS.

I wonder if the MSM that pushed, cheered, and shoved him to the podium as the New Messiah, are now scratching their heads and thinking they had poor judgement as well? I hope so.

Obama is a man-made production of what the MSM thought liberals would lap up, and they did. Money, fame, photo ops, music videos, damsels fainting, it was all so beautiful. They created a candidate out of nothing. It was a Cinderella story.

Alas, we found out about Rezko, Wright, Ayers, Typical White People, Guns and Religion--things that MSM never bargained for.

I bet they didn't realize Obama's lack of judgement was so vast. It also shows the lack of judgement on the part of the MSM that brought him here.

And to think, he could still be an Illinois state senator, attending his racist church in peace and having dinner with home grown terrorists. Poor dude.

Obama IS a lie
Thomas Sowell said it so well not long ago: Hillary Clinton tells lies, but Obama IS a lie. There is no mystery why this is so. The whole basis of liberalism, whether you call it Marxism, socialism, or any other -ism, is itself a lie. Instead of delivering the promised prosperity, it brings only poverty and suffering; instead of harmony it brings only strife and discord; and so on through all the promises of leftist thought.

History has proven, time and again, that it does not work. It is a lie. It requires a liar to campaign on its merits. We can expect nothing else from the left. If they tell the truth, they are toast.

What Kind of Judement
Would a president Obama use to nominate Supreme Court Justices?

Judging from his track record...

POOR JUDGEMENT.

For God And Country
W/O=

Obama's a Racist, Too
It shows that he lacks judgment, but on top of that the dude's a racist. When are we going to get a capable, intelligent, conservative black candidate?

Some guy on blogspot did a whole essay on the racism thing.. Read theuseofreason.blogspot.com if you want to. I think there's about a million articles about it out there, though.

Why doesn't Sowell run? I'd vote for him. He'd fix the economy for sure. Plus, he's not a racist.

The only problem I see is
that Obama should have also added, "and I don't
want a poor child who would be punished with
a parent who is not yet prepared to take of
it."

Like it or not, poor judgment in your opinion
or not, Obama speaks for the majority.

Obama is a fraud and a liar
The Wall Street Journal says 1/3 of voters said at exit polls that Hillary wasn't trustworthyand they wouldn't vote for her in the general election, but more than that don't believe and won't vote for Obama.

Those stats are a problem for the Dems., whose only real offerings are military humiliation and recession/depression.

They like misery, so they can lie about lifting people out of it. But the Dems. don't want to end poverty. They relish in poverty. It keeps them in power.

Many Dems. simply hate the military services, altho' they are wont to brag they've been under fire--that never existed (Hillary fantasizing about Bosnia and Gore concocting a heroism for himself in Vietnam). Real soldiers belie all the cowardice those Dems. have who are genuinely afraid to fight for anything except the aggrandizement of their own power.

This has been a long and dull campaign season, but it was at least long enough to reveal Obama for the lie that he is, even if the MSM still doesn't want to admit it

obama is a fake!
obama is a terriost! the muslims just hope he wins to be our next president, then they will have control of obamas white house! for as obama puts it ,

(it's his white house) not the peoples! GOD HELP AMERICA if he is our next president!

renny
Good points.
Attitude toward the military is one of the biggies. Mrs. Clinton is passing herself off as a would-be commander in chief who has the troops welfare at heart. The Clintons have been quoted in the past as "despising" the military. I believe she would not tolerate men in uniform in her white house as first lady.
Mr. Obama wants to decimate our defenses and hand our defnse over to the UN and NATO (Nato troops have been so much help in Afghanistan...I want that question put to him).
If there were no other issues (and there are plenty), I could not abandon our troops to serve under either of these people as CIC.

As for dems loving poverty, you're spot on there too. Apparently Sen McCain is campaigning in some poor Kentucky town where LBJ launched the war on poverty 40 years ago. He will make the point that this town is the same as it was then, poverty wise. Pretty good, huh?

You mis-interpreted the Obama quote
I agree that Obama generally lacks moral judgment, and there is plenty for which to criticize him, but looking at the context, it does not appear that his "I don't want them punished with a baby" quote was referring to abortion. Rather, the discussion had moved on to "comprehensive sex education", and he was saying he supports such sex education so his daughters would not end up punished with a baby for not having the kind of information they would get through sex education. He was not saying he supports abortion so his daughters could avoid being punished with a baby.

Again, Obama's moral compass indeed provides questionable guidance. But let's be fair - he was not advocating the abortion of his grandchildren.

aldin
Nice try, but I urge you to examine Obama's voting record. It is perhaps the most rabidly pro-death voting record of any Senator or Congressman EVER.

Obama, like most proabortion liberals, think abortion is a wonderful thing that should be kept legal and available at all costs for any and all reasons. Obama even supports infanticide - the killing of children AFTER they are born. That's right - he voted against a provision to grant personhood and protection to babies born alive after a failed abortion procedure. He'd prefer they were left to die without any care.

I'm sorry, aldin, but your weak attempt to spin Obama's radical abortion views doesn't wash.

What about saluting/wearing our flag?
Those boys that put up the American Flag in Iwo Jima would roll over in their graves to know a possible POTUS refuses to wear the flag and damn if he does not say so and get away with it. What is the thinking of our voters?

Were I a soldier I would not want to die for my Commander And Chief who will not salute the flag.
God Help Us.

Actually
Obama is no more morally confused than the following:
(1) Yasir Arafat
(2) Zia ul-Haq
(3) Tikka Khan
(4) Adolf Hitler
(5) Joseph Stalin
(6) Mao Zedong

All of whom were unequivocally evil!

Miraculous punishments
Great article, Jerry. All these discrete instances of bad judgment, when placed together, form a disturbing mosaic.

I wonder if Obama knows how closely his views of his potential grandchildren mirror that of Planned Parenthood or its founder?

True Story
I found myself this week in the company of about a dozen Obama supporters. This group’s racial or ethnic background mostly consisted of people Obama would characterize as fear mongers or bitter. The group and I briefly discussed the content contained within this article. I learned three significant things from this impromptu meeting.
1) None denied the claims and all accepted them as true and factual.
2) All found at least the majority of the claims against Obama reprehensible.
3) None changed their minds as all remained supporters of Obama.
Why? It is because they view him as the candidate of change. Personally, I say, "Be careful what you ask for; you might just get it."

my man jones
the problem with the oblahma and his refusal to wear a flag in his label is the message it sends. The lapel pin has meaning to many who have donned the uniform to defend the country and if the oblahma is trhe great unifier he claims to be this should be readily apparent.

But instead the oblahma would rather appease his androgynous elitist buddies who share a distain for america and for those who have fought to defend the country.

Symbols are always meaningful but this only empahasizes his elitist attitude about the great unwashed in the hinderlands. Elitists share a distain for those serving in the military as they only see societies idiots and losers willing to join the military. Elitists feel that the truly intelligent and gifted will seek a higher calling such as being interior decorators in san fran or columnists in the NYT as preferred career choices.

But the oblahma has shown not only what he values but who he values. His lifelong quest for his black identity and his comfort at joining in with his coastal elitist friends shows he will never be a person for the people.

Life is not a punishment
I had a daughter just 3 years ago this April 11th. We did not plan to have her. As a matter of fact, we were both going back to school at our local community college at the time, and having a child would mean one of us would, most likely, have to go back to work. We could have decided to mitigate this "mistake" of ours with an abortion, if we wanted to. I never even considered it! I was raised (I believe rightly) to believe that babies are not punishment, but rather precious life, and those who would "do the deed" must realize and accept that we are responsible to the life our actions created. After 3 years with my wonderful daughter, I look upon such opinions as being practically reptilian in their inhuman coldness. I will elect no President who believes that extinguishing a life to protect any individual from assuming the responsibilities that their own actions have created.

Aldin
Even if the context you describe is accurate (it may be), I still find the thought of a baby as being a "punishment" in any sense of the word to be callous at the very least.

USNBubblehead
I will elect no President who believes that extinguishing a life to protect any individual from assuming the responsibilities that their own actions have created."

I agree with every word you said. However, you may have a hard time finding a president to vote for. I believe there are few, if any, politicians left that believe in the sanctity of life.

annfan
Your post lacks coherence. Please re-read my post. I leave it to you as an exercise to figure out why your argument makes no sense.

For the rest of you, I think it's clear I was not attempting to "spin Obama's radical abortion views." I agree that Obama has radical abortion views, and I denounce them. He may even prefer his daughters have an abortion rather than be "punished" with a baby. My only point is that we don't know this based on the particular line quoted in the article above, because that line was taken out of context and mis-interpreted.

I'm not defending Obama. However, arguments that can be shown to be false or invalid lose all force and taint the credibility of those who make them. There are so many perfectly valid arguments to make against Obama, we cannot and should not be perpetuating false claims about him. He and his surrogates will debunk these false claims and point to them as some kind of conspiracy against him, lending him legitimacy and increased support due to perceived persecution. Those like annfan will be easily dimissed, and Obama will get away with hiding his radical ideology beneath a superficial veneer.

I beleive Mr. Agar made an honest mistake in his interpretation of Obama's remark -- but it was a mistake. Now let's move on to all the real problems with Obama's beliefs and actions.

USNbubblehead
Of course, all life is precious. But I think most of us agree that teenage girls getting pregnant is generally not a good thing -- for the teenage girl or her child. Teenage girls having sex is bad behavior that often leads to negative consequences (i.e., having to raise a baby without a father, financial resources, etc.). Surely, the baby is not a "punishment," but having to struggle through pregnacy and raising a child as a teenager is.

Again, Obama's views on abortion are deplorable (he voted against the Born Alive act -- shameful). But his desire not to have his own daughters get pregnant as teens is not among his morally repugnant views. Let's stick to the real arguments against him.
