Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Six years into the Bush administration, are there any new depths to which the Bush-haters can sink?

George W. Bush has been smeared by the left with every insult imaginable. He has been called a segregationist who yearns to revive Jim Crow and compared ad nauseam to Adolf Hitler. His detractors have accused him of being financially entwined with Osama bin Laden. Of presiding over an American gulag. Of being a latter-day Mussolini. Howard Dean has proffered the "interesting theory" that the Saudis tipped off Bush in advance about 9/11. One US senator (Ted Kennedy) has called the war in Iraq a "fraud" that Bush "cooked up in Texas" for political gain; another (Vermont independent James Jeffords) has charged him with planning a war in Iran as a strategy to put his brother in the White House. Cindy Sheehan has called him a "lying bastard," a "filth spewer," an "evil maniac," a "fuehrer," and a "terrorist" guilty of "blatant genocide" -- and been rewarded for her invective with oceans of media attention.

What's left for them to say about Bush? That they want him killed?

They already say it.

On Air America Radio, talk show host Randi Rhodes recommended doing to Bush what Michael Corleone, in "The Godfather, Part II," does to his brother. "Like Fredo," she said, "somebody ought to take him out fishing and phuw!" -- then she imitated the sound of a gunshot. In the Guardian, a leading British daily, columnist Charlie Brooker issued a plea: "John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr. -- where are you now that we need you?"

For the more literary Bush-hater, there is "Checkpoint," a novel by Nicholson Baker in which two characters discuss the wisdom of shooting the 43rd president. "I'm going to kill that bastard," one character fumes. Some Bush-hatred masquerades as art: At Chicago's Columbia College, a curated exhibit included a sheet of mock postage stamps bearing the words "Patriot Act" and depicting President Bush with a gun to his head. There are even Bush-assassination fashion statements, such as the "KILL BUSH" T-shirts that were on offer last year at CafePress, an online retailer.

Lurid political libels have a long history in American life. The lies told about John Adams in the campaign of 1800 were vile enough, his wife Abigail lamented, "to ruin and corrupt the minds and morals of the best people in the world." But has there ever been a president so hated by his enemies that they lusted openly for his death? Or tried to gratify that lust with such political pornography?

As with other kinds of porn, even the most graphic expressions of Bush-hatred tend to jade those who gorge on it, so that they crave ever more explicit material to achieve the same effect.

Which brings us to "Death of a President," a new movie about the assassination of George W. Bush.

Written and directed by British filmmaker Gabriel Range, the movie premieres this week at the Toronto Film Festival and will air next month on Britain's Channel 4. Shot in the style of a documentary, it opens with what looks like actual footage of Bush being gunned down by a sniper as he leaves a Chicago hotel in October 2007. Through the use of digital special effects, the film superimposes the president's face onto the body of the actor playing him, so that the mortally wounded man collapsing on the screen will seem, all too vividly, to be Bush himself.

Channel 4 Television

The assassination scene from “Death of a President,” a television film whose subject is George W. Bush.

This is Bush-hatred as a snuff film. The fantasies it feeds are grotesque and obscene; to pander to such fantasies is to rip at boundary-markers that are indispensable to civilized society. That such a movie could not only be made but lionized at an international film festival is a mark not of sophistication, but of a sickness in modern life that should alarm conservatives and liberals alike.

Naturally that's not how the film's promoters see it. Noah Cowan, one of the Toronto festival's co-directors, high-mindedly describes "Death of a President" as "a classic cautionary tale." Well, yes, he says, Bush's assassination is "harrowing," but what the film is really about is "how the Patriot Act, especially, and how Bush's divisive partisanship and race-baiting has forever altered America."

I can't help wondering, though, whether some of those who see this film will take away rather a different message. John Hinckley, in his derangement, had the idea that shooting the president was the way to impress a movie star. After seeing "Death of a President," the next Hinckley may be taken with a more grandiose idea: that shooting the president is the way to *become* a movie star.

Living In The End Times
The only thing I hate, is to be the bearer of bad news: This is the end times, These evil do'ers happy days will be short lived, because where they will end up will be anything but happy.

article about new low of democrats.
THIS WAS A EXCELLENT ARTICLE, AND CERTAINLY LAID OUT THE LIBERALS JUST AS THE APPEAR TO THE PUBLIC EYE.......THEY HAVE HIT LOWS AND CONTINUE TO HIT THEM IN THEIR ATROCIOUS WORDS AND ACTIONS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH LOW CHARACTER PEOPLE IN MY LIFE AS THE LIBERALS HAVE BECOME.
BUSH IS DOING A EXCELLENT JOB FOR THIS COUNTRY AND SO IS OUR MILITARY.WHILE THE LIBERALS ARE ACTING EXACTLY LIKE MUSLIMS IN THIS COUNTRY....ITS DISGRACEFUL.

Why
Why, with all the problems that are happening in merry old England, do these folks feel the need to try to castigate our President? What does the Patriot Act matter to them as they are not subject to American laws?

Why don't these busy bodies try to do something to help their own country out? As I understand it, the violent crime rate in Emgland is on the rise and it is quickly begining to live up to the name Londonistan, what with the influx of Muslims and radical imams. Maybe they could do a mockumentary about how George Galloway was on Saddam's payroll!

What ever they do, it would be nice if those that have no stake or voice in our politics would just keep their noses out of our business. That would be nice!

Ever Lower Lows
The Left is a compilation of many different unique groups. There are pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers, drug users, the baby killers, the same sex marriage advocates, thieves, murderers, rapists, etc, etc. ad infinitum in this group.
George Bush is a Christian who practices his faith.
Most of the groups that comprise the Left advocate policies and behaviors that have been proscribed by organized religions almost forever.
As long as W. remains in office he remains an obstacle to them achieving their goals. Couple that with the lack of the oratorical skill of either a JFK or FDR (who allowed himself on various occassions to be led around by Joseph Stalin like a calf with a ring through its nose)
and the rabid hatred of the MSM and you have the source of most of the hatred for GWB.

Bush-Bashers
Their visceral hatred for W is not unlike the Jhadists' hatred for the West. There is no rational basis, yet it exists. Therefore meaningful dialogue is not possible. Both are angry because they are not in power and do not have the control that they feel cheated of. Both put Self above desires and interests of their Countrymen as well as the well-being of Humanity. With impunity, both cross the lines of civil discourse and behavior. Neither offers any constructive ideas.

Where is decorum?
I find it pathetic that the quality of decorum has erroded in our society so far down that some believe that this film and the vitriol that is spewed in politics has hit the low that it has.

I'm hard-pressed not to believe that with the start of the Clinton Administration and the smut, scandal that was brought into the most prestigous office in the country, was the catalyst for this degradation. I would be interested if others felt the same.

Before Clinton, I can remember politicians having issue with one another, taking euphemistic pot-shots at one another, but still within a, for lack of a better term, somewhat dignified manner. Was I too young to see it differently? Was it my imagination that "Political Correctness" had started it's wave across this country? Was I in denial that politicians were more dignified?

What would George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln be thinking of Washington today?

The whole political spectrum in the UK, as in the rest of Europe, is
phase-shifted to the left relative to what things are like here.

Moreover, there's a lot of simmering resentment of this young, upstart
nation that's taken Britain's place as the world's dominant power.

It would, indeed. I still can't believe that some Britons had the
nerve to actually try and influence the last Presidential election
by writing to American citizens and urging them not to vote for Bush.

Everything you said is true. There's another facet of the Bush-
hatred phenomenon to consider, too, and that's the tendency of
the Left to engage in groupthink. These people are followers
by nature, not individualists. That's why they're so big on
consensus, and why they care so much what people in other nations
(e.g., France) think of us.

A number of times a liberal friend of mine has pointed out that
some pundit or blogger whom I like disagreed with me on Bush or
Iraq -- the obvious subtext being that because I respect that
person, I should immediately revise my opinion to align with his.
That offers a lot of insight into the liberal psyche.

Anyway, the point is that because of this groupthink phenomenon,
the Bush-hatred thing built on itself and snowballed. Once the
lefties realized that hating Bush was the "in" thing and that
"everybody" was doing it, it took on a life of its own and got
completely out of hand. Now they're trying to outdo one another
in the brazenness department. This film is merely the latest
example in a continuum of Bush-hating leftist zealotry.

Kimberly . . .
How very intellectual and insightful! If you happen to be 14, that is. Assuming you are older than that, I recommend you read, or have someone read you, Mr. Jacoby's column and consider it and your own feelings.

One other thing--Clinton and his tovarishi may have tried to forget Osama, but President Bush never has. It is far more likely that Osama bin dead.

hatred consumes the hater
It is indeed appalling to witness the visceral hatred of Bush, a hatred with no apparent limit. As Birdie suggests (above), it is not unlike a jihad that justifies any means to achieve its end.

And like the usurption of Islam for hateful purposes, the hijacking of political discourse by the radical left in this country reveals the emptiness of its message.

Hatred's only fuel is the soul of hater. Let them consume themselves.

Noah Cowan
"what the film is really about is "how the Patriot Act, especially, and how Bush's divisive partisanship and race-baiting has forever altered America."

Even if Bush had done these things, I fail to see how portraying the assassination of Bush adds anything of value to the debate. Cowan calls this "a classic cautionary tale". Who exactly is being "cautioned"? Is he telling Bush to toe the liberal party line or else?

"Osama bin Forgotten"

Tell me Kimberly, what would you do differently to catch Osama bin Laden? Hmm? What you do with bin Laden if you actually were able to catch him? We're all waiting to be enlighted by brilliant liberals like yourself.

The Real Reason
The left hates OUR Commander and Chief, unlike the last one, Bush does not care what The UN, or Europe, thinks about him.
He is doing his job, which is trying to protect us. He doesn't hold up his finger every morning to see which way the wind is blowing so as to know what his policy is going to be today
I don't agree with his policy on the border but the Lefts policy is exactly the same. I don't hear them crying for a wall, although they keep crying about his policy, neglecting their own.
Hatred is at the head of the Democratic party any reasonable voices they get rid of.

The demonization of GWB
What we have here is a acccumulation of the Carville inspired small darts of hatred strating with the 2000 election. The Democrats went underground with the jibs and jabs on the 'stolen' election. GWB was not an elected President. The DNC and their acolytes well used email and the internet to retain the diappointed Democrat base. Scurrilous tales were spread using off color jokes.

The republicans did nothing to bring to the surface these pockets of gas and expose them for what they were. The President's men were either blithely unaware of what was going on or just plain stupid. Each special interest which divided the liberal Democrat base (thre is no conservative Democrat base) from the republican party was exploited. The enviromentalists were counselled on Bush as a despoiler of the economy. etc., etc.

It was all done to peak at the 2002 election and again at the 2004 Presidential election. The numbers and volumes of emails increased. Politics, turning Clausewitz upside down, was war by another means.

The loss of the 2004 election through vote manipulation in Ohio gave the scandal mongers yet another layer of hatred to feed their base.

The president's handlers still dobn't recognize the dangers. In time of war, the President cannot be made to seem aloof. He must be seen as actively involved on all fronts. FDR and Reagan knew that. A President can not wait until he is a lame duck to come out of his shell.

Have there been mistakes made. There sure as heck have. Presidents usually are counselled by two sets of advisors. Bush appears only to have one. Wars need to be fought by expending the maximum amount of resources over the shortest period of time. Instead, GWB tried to do the War on Terror like LBJ did in Vietnam. With 9/11, Bush had the opportunity to galvanize the people and put on a war footing. He did not.

But that begs the question. The State of politics defines a civil society. By that standard we are indeed uncivilized.

Flagwaver
It is my understanding that British law enforcement agencies possess investigative powers that go well beyond anything in the Patriot Act. Also, their escalating rates of violent crime neatly coincide with the disarming of their law-abiding population.

Regarding Bush hatred, it is curious that the Left so hates a man who has governed from the left in many ways--prescription drug entitlements, vastly expanded federal role in education, open borders, a big government solution for every problem, etc.

EllisWyatt - welcome to the fight...always good to find a fellow traveller!

This is all...
The sad result of outlawing the duel.
Back in the old days, a person had the right to free speech just as he does today.
However, that freedom did not include the right to slander, as a man just might demand satisfaction for an insult to his character.
But see, men had character back then. It had actual value to the person holding it. To cast aspersions on someone's character was an offense, not just verbal spewing, hiding childlike under the Mama's skirt of 'free speech'.
This was part of being a Gentleman. You sought no offense, but when it came your way you stood up to it.
Sadly, sadly, some things are lost to the world.

WAKE UP People!!!
Time to Wake up

We have wholesale treason going on in Washington, D.C.

Selling off our infrastructure

Passing one after another non-free trade agreements, such as GATT, NAFTA, CAFTA, OMAN and are trying for the FTAA, that are providing special rules for a select group of international companies and resulting in much of our industry and jobs to be shipped overseas.

Our country is being invaded by Mexico, yet the government is doing little to stop it. All they seem interested in doing is passing an amnesty bill. We have people here that outwardly advocate the overthrow of a part of our country for "Aztlan" or La Reconquista. Yet, our government sits idly by.

Our country is currently being merged with Canada and Mexico into a North American Union. If this is completed, our Constitution will be gone. Ms. Schlafly has the best repository of articles on this topic that I've seen on her site.
http://www.eagleforum.org/topics/NAU/index.html

Our ports are not being protected. Everyone was all upset about the Dubai ports deal and thought it was handled, but it was not. The ports still are in their control and with the passage of the OMAN non-free trade agreement, there will likely be more owned by Middle Easterners.

Our government (the peanut farmer) gave away the Panama Canal which was vital to our national security. The Communist Chinese are all the canal, including the Chinese military.

We have allowed Cosco, which is owned by the Communist Chinese government to be in a large number of our ports. They plan to soon be operating ports in Texas.

Have we lost our cotton pickin' minds? Our government is turning our country into a surveillance grid for supposed National Security, while our borders and ports remain wide open. This makes NO sense whatsoever.

We are being lied to folks. It's time for us to WAKE UP!!!!

Not well thought out
A movie about Bush getting killed might provide liberals with some temporary glee, as they tend to be satisfied to live for the moment, but have they considered who would be president if someone actually killed Bush? Huh? Cheney then could, in theory be president, for 10 years. Is that what you want, Mr. and Mrs. Bush-Hater?

Now think about how far down the succession list they would have to assassinate before they got someone acceptable to their deranged minds.

Of course we hate him
We hate him because he lied the country into war in Iraq. (They never had any solid evidence for their claims about nuclear weapons, or ties with al Qaida, yet the White House told us over and over again that these were certantites.)

By the way, I haven't seen much mention on this site about the Senate Intelligance Commitee Report––you know, the one that says there was never a connection between Iraq and al Qaida. Have you noticed how not one columnist has seen it as worthy of reporting on. Gee, I wonder why that is.

As for his domestic policies, Bush has been all about subsidizing oil and energy companies and shifting the tax burden from the wealthiest people in the country to those in the middle and upper middle income brackets. Notice how he talks about how America is addicted to oil, but then he does nothing to actually try and solve the problem. All he cares about is that he APPEARS to care about the problem.

You people want to talk about the great economy, but if it's so great, why has the stock market been flat for five years?

The only thing I can't figure out is why you people still have any respect for the guys at all.

Phylo out.

Ellis Wyatt Nails It
"what the film is really about is "how the Patriot Act, especially, and how Bush's divisive partisanship and race-baiting has forever altered America."

This line that Ellis Wyatt points out, above, is the same one that caught my eye. What kind of prism does the left look through that they can utter such nonsense with a straight face? The sad and frightening reality is that people who say these things actually believe them to be true.
Of course, Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945, said it best:

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."
Bush Devisive
Bush Racist
Bush Liar
Bush Stupid

The mantra continues. You would think that these people are ignorant of the fact that a new election in 2008 will see the removal of their object of hatred. We don't need fantasies of assassination further polluting the sick minds already evident.

Come in Phylo, come in Phylo..
Earth to Phylo, all we're getting is static.
Your tinfoil is blocking reception.
Spin propeller and transmit through decoder ring.
Say again, Earth to...

Real Source of Hate
To Kimberly, Phylo, and the other lefty posters here: Let's drop all the rhetorical foo-faw and cut to the chase: what really bugs you about Bush is his committment to Christainity instead of the teachings of Karl Marx, the abortion lobby, and platform of the Democrap Party and the lifestyle of the libertine. Right? Right!! You bet your sweet lives on it.

Bush Haters
From this article it is even more evident that the Bush Haters are more a menace to our commander in chief that the al Queda, Taliban,
Hezbollah(?) bin Ladin . The clueless demicrats
are so bent on doing in Bush that the demis would sacrifice the USA if it meant getting Bush !!
This is high treason and those that spewing forth
such insane b/s should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.....
capteasy

Phylo Out
Phylo out - way out!
Phylo out - stay out!

Iraq was designated as a state sponsor of terrorism back 1n 1990 and they have harbored, trained and supported terrorists for years.
And as for the transfer of the tax burden from the wealthiest - every year when the IRS releases statistics from the previous year, the share the wealthiest pay has been going up. Bush Lied??? The Democrat leadership has been lying about W since before he was elected and about Conservatives since 1993. Phylo out? You sure are!

A counter mov(i)e
Since we're blurring the line between reality and fiction in our entertainment, why not a counter movie production in which the plot involves an evil (surely Repuplican) President that uses CIA operatives to assasinate a director and producer who made a movie about assasinating the president?

Bush hatred
We have a very very sick society these days and they are only getting worse and what they are are the worst of the liberals. I remember when JFK was assasinated, it was devastating to this country and now the lowest of the low are talking about killing the president - that is sick and this new movie coming out is just sick sick. I would not pay any amount of money to see it and if they put it on TV you can bet I will not watch it then.

Comments...
Hey Phylo, the stock market has not been flat. It has simply done what any wartime stock market does - it rises and falls with the fortunes and misfortunes of war. Most especially world-wide war.

You have the same problem that all 'You People' (aka leftists) have. You have conveniently forgotten we've been in a world wide war for the last - ahem - FIVE years. It's not all about Iraq.

Also... why is this idiot film-maker saying "Bush's divisive partisanship and race-baiting has forever altered America"? From everything I've seen or heard in the past 5 years, it's been the Democrats doing the partisan politics and the race-baiting.. Perhaps it is because he is not from America, apparently has no clue about American politics, and should have kept his mouth shut and the lens caps on his cameras.

Phyllo IS out...

hey Kimberly
Can Presidents submit legislation?
What percentage of Democrats passed the Patriot Act?
Are you a parrot for your political party, or can you think for yourself?

Sorry, Philo
I know liberalism is all raw emotion and no thought, and dissecting your posts is like shooting fish in a barrel--I almost hate to pick on you, but I just can't let idiotic statements pass.

You state that the Bush tax cuts "shift(ed) the tax burden from the wealthiest people in the country to those in the middle and upper middle income brackets." In reality, taxes on lower and middle income earners were reduced, and by a greater percentage than those of the wealthy. Further, the percentage of the overall tax burden payed by the wealthiest 10% has INCREASED after the tax cuts. But other than that you are correct.

You state that the stock market has been flat for the last 5 years. In reality, the Dow hit a low of 7200 in July 2002. It is now at ~ 11,200. I suggest you check the definition of "flat"

Finally, the tiresome, ad nauseum argument of "Bush Lied" - I won't go through the entire refutation yet again, but I'm still waiting for an explanation of how Bush tricked the Clinton administration into lying about the weapons while he was still Governor of Texas.

They remind me of angry children
The liberals are like children blaming the father figure for the disruption of the family; they are in denial. There all kinds of pictures of the events & other evidence yet they want to believe it was an inside job. They argue about little things that happened 5 years ago but not how to solve the problems of today. Again, like children they hide under the blankets instead of looking that the situation & trying to solve the real problems. When my husband and I face a problem (like job loss) we don't start attacking each other & tearing our family apart - we look at the problem squarely and discuss what needs to be done. We cooperate & do everything we can to surrive.
They want to kill the president & are in a rage at him but not Bin Laden who is still congraduating himself for the success of the attack on 9/11. (they almost seem to be cheering him on?) I still don't understand how they rationlize Bin Laden's constant claims that he did it, do they think Bin Laden is working with President Bush? Again, like children their rage is not rational - it just is. And do not doubt, this is rage, not thoughtful doubt! Cindy Sheehan said recently she wished she could strangle Bush in his crib. I think they can't face the real terror that there men on this planet that would cut their throats in a second.. blaming Bush makes it less frightening for them. One man is easy to kill - thousands are not!
And, then oddly, they keep saying President Bush is an idiot... how could an idiot plan an attack like this is just 9 months?
Its sad, really , because we need both parties to work to save our country. There was a time when the Democratic Party was worthy of our respect, but not any longer. It isn't reining in its extremists, its encouraging them.

The Raving, Petulent Left
I am a libertarian. I did not support our going to war in Iraq. I believed that there were insufficient roots for planting democracy in that nation. No Jefferson, no Franklin, no Madison, no heritage. So the present mess in Iraq was no surprise to me.

However, I do find the actions of the left to be outrageous and destructive of our nation. There are mature, constructive ways to be the LOYAL opposition.

For example, Ted Kennedy was enraged when Ann Coulter said those tough things about the left leaning 9/11 widows and demanded that the Republicans reject her. Where is his indignation of the Bush snuff film? Ted is America's most famous hypocrite.

to phylo
First of all pPylo, WMD were found in Iraq, a forner Iraqi general mentioned several flights of 747's going to Syria - taking perhaps WMD, (what else would thay be doing).
The rich pay more than NINETY PERCENT of our total taxes. Any tax cut benefits the rich of course AS well as others. I am middle class and my pay checks got bigger after the cuts. Are you one of those who pays no taxes? Is that why you talk the left mind speak talking point "tax cuts for the rich"? Tell me did you ever get a job from a poor person? The higher earners use their money to expand their companies, hire more people, donate to charities. Our tax revenues are UP due to the tax cuts. The minute anyone says "tax cuts for the rich", that is the point where one should disregard what that person has to say as they are a parrot of the left talking points. Less than 5 % unemployment is considered no unemployment. Interest rates have been low. The economy is good, so what if the market has been a bit flat. IS that the ONLY marker of our economy? And, gee, Bush was blamed for gas prices going up (market and supply and demand) but when they come down would he not also be to blame for that also. Liberals are emotional and have little reasoning ability, common sense or logic and any facts that do not agree with them either do not exist or are, in their minds lies. Usually they then resort to name calling as they cannot compete in a debate of ideas.
I suppose it is not your fault so much as it is our government chilhood indoctrination centers (government schools).

This is too easy....
Phylo writes:

"You people want to talk about the great economy, but if it's so great, why has the stock market been flat for five years?"

This is like a hanging curve ball to Barry Bonds.

DJIA - September 10, 2001 - 9605.51
DJIA - September 17, 2001 - 8920.80
DJIA - September 11, 2006 - 11364.02

This represents a net increase of 1758.51 in the Dow, or 18.31% in the past five years. Certainly short of the historical average return, but certainly not flat.

The rest of your post is unsubstantiated opinion, which does not warrant even a brief commentary. I would suggest that you stick to that in the future - if you choose to try and make a factual statement, you will be dining on crow.

bush hatred
This continuous assault on President Bush is the most hateful and irrational sort of drivel. The libs and hatemongers give no concrete plan or even a hint of the action they would have taken regarding this terrorist attack. "We need a new direction" is not a plan. If we decide for whatever reason to punish Conservatives and either not vote or vote Dem. we codemn this country to the next attack where maybe millions of Americans will once again die or suffer for an ideaology we don't condone or understand. Stand with us or get out of the way.

Will mankind perish, someday? of course we will. Why are we any different from the dinosaurs?

interesting comments
"Bush lied" - sorry, hard to have any respect for you if you believe that.

George Tenent told the President the WMD case against Iraq was a "slam dunk" (this is the same CIA, by the way, which, via Valerie Plame, has tried to undercut the President ever since).

There wasn't a western intelligence service that believed otherwise - and I limit it to "Western" only because I'm not 100% sure Russian intelligence agreed (only about 95%).

Being 'wrong' is not lying ... oh, and given that you know better, making the claim is (ahem) a "Lie."

As for people trashing the "end times" - you might want to take a "humility pill", because you no more know whether it is or it isn't than anyone else.

The important thing about "end times" is to have your life in order as if it is while living your life as if it isn't - we were not put on earth to sit quietly and await its destruction.

If you wish to doubt God, that is your choice, and while I wish you'd do otherwise, that's between you & God.

Altering America
It's funny how Noah Cowan thinks Bush's partisianship has forever altered America, but has no clue that what is really dividing and altering America are people like him that create and promote films and books that promote murder.
It's a shame the libs can't see the forest for the trees.

Bushitler
It is tough to be a rabid leftist-socialist. One day Bush is the stupidest man in the world, the next he is a modern day Machiavelli, who controls the universe. They can only maintain that he is “Bushitler”, and their lives would be Nirvana without him. What, I wonder, will they do in two years when they don’t have him to blame for their pathetic existence?

Bush vs. Clinton
It never ceaces to amaze me how the left can idolize the likes of Bill Clinton, Howard Dean, Jessie Jackson, Jimmy Carter....... All of these claim to be "Christian" men, and yet they are typical selfish, hateful, destructive, dishonest, greedy and immoral individuals of the Left, whom never recieve any critisicm from the Left. I'm convinced that most of "The Left" is made up of over emotional, ill tempered and immature people who have no ability to debate or defend thier positions on anything without cursing, name calling, insulting, vilifying or just plain hating. The louder a person gets, the weaker thier argument becomes. Thank God, the uglier they get, the better everyone else looks.

Tame
"What would George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln be thinking of Washington today?"

Lincoln would probably think it was pretty tame. He was actively hated by millions, burned in effigy. Even his own generals insulted him (not to his face of course). McClellan repeatedly referred to him as "the original Baboon".

Re: Of course we hate him

Phylo ii writes:

> We hate him because he lied the country into war in Iraq.

Even if we accept for the sake of discussion that this is true,
I'd have thought that the Left would've applauded the invasion
of Iraq. After all, the Left fancies itself the political faction
of compassion and human rights.

Even if you don't think it was among the primary reasons Bush
invaded, one of the undeniable effects of going into Iraq was to
depose a horrific regime that brutalized its own citizens. Why,
one would've thought that you people would be jumping for joy
over that, regardless of whatever you believed the Bush adminis-
tration's actual (or primary) motives were.

But you aren't. You lefties hate Bush so much that the whole
compassion-and-human-rights angle got lost in the shuffle. You'd
rather have seen the Iraqi people continue to suffer under Saddam's
oppression than for the invasion and nation-building to succeed,
because that would mean that Bush would come out looking good.
What a bunch of hypocrites!

What's really dooming the Left in America (and with it, the Demo-
cratic Party) is that you hate Bush so much that you'd prefer to see
America lose prestige on the world stage than for the Iraq enterprise
to succeed. That's why you've engaged in naysaying and defeatism
every step of the way, screeching "Quagmire!" when the troops paused
on the way to Baghdad (because, it turned out, they'd advanced so
quickly that they'd outrun their supply lines) and all that.

The magnitude of your hatred for Bush far exceeds the magnitude of
your patriotism, such as it is -- the patriotism that you make such
a big, empty show of bristling over when anyone dares to question it.

The electorate sees right through all this. You know those red-
staters whom you folks have such contempt for? Those people out
in "flyover country" who still think patriotism is cool? They won't
stand for your kind regaining any real political power in this country.
You've stepped on your collective crank -- with golf shoes. And fot
its part, the Democratic Party is reduced to being The Party Of "No."
It doesn't stand for anything, but is defined only by being against
anything Bush does or stands for.

> (They never had any solid evidence for their claims about nuclear
> weapons, or ties with al Qaida, yet the White House told us over

They thought they WERE certainties. At the time, everybody --
including the French -- thought Saddam was trying to acquire
nuclear weapons. Well, now we know. If it took an invasion to
find out, then so be it.

So if not for WMDs, why do YOU think Bush invaded Iraq?

The Present and the Future
Anyone who doesn't think that this world and all that is in it is winding down to a finish, has his/her head in the sand...even the Muslims believe in a day of final reckoning...and they are a false religion, a cult with no spiritual credibility. So if the followers of Christ, and the followers of Allah both believe in that same "event," that is darn near most of the world, except for the atheists, other minor cults, and liberal non-thinkers. Sin is real, and evil is real...just look around you and be honest in your evaluations. Does it make logical sense to try to fool yourself? Satan is certainly in control of this world now, walking to and fro upon the earth seeking whom he may devour, spewing his hate, vengeance, lies, and foul deeds, but never forget that God has His hand on the thermometer and He says "how hot" and "how long!"

George Bush acts from the premise of truth, right, and what is good for the continued free existence of our nation. Criticize if you must, but watch out for your literal and political backside! If the "desperation" party ever gains political control of this country, God Help Us! But will He? We have rejected His name and His influence systematically over the past years
from this nation's heritage and our present public sector.

You can disbelieve that these are the end times if you wish...but what if you are wrong? By the time you find out you were wrong, it will be too late. Quelle Dommage. C'est la vie, right?

Bush's Fault
Below is a list of scientifically proven phenomena which are the direct result of having George Bush in the White House:
Global Warming
Global Cooling
Why the terrorists hate us
Why the Gray Aliens hate us
The ice caps shrinking-on Mars
The 'Cambrian expansion incident'
End of the Aztec empire
The wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald
Candy bars shrinking since I was a kid
The whole red M&M fiasco
The GI Joe Kung Fu Grip disaster
The break up of the Beatles
Why Manfred Mann had only one hit
The cancellation of McGuyver
And the Tuna sandwich assassination of Mama Cass

Correction, Machiavellian....
I would like to add a correction to Machiavellian's otherwise excellent posting... we have been engaged in a world wide war for much more than 5 years. Khobar Towers in '94, our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in '98 (I think), the USS Cole in 2000.... these were all acts of war on the part of al-Qaida against the United States. We have been in this war for some time, even if our government failed to realize it.

Then again...
I forgot to mention the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983 by Hezbollah...This war against us by these "radical" Islamic groups has been ongoing for over 23 years now.

Symbols

Get real.
Its typical to propose killing off symbols will solve problems, if you can't do anything else.

Lazlo
You forgot to mention the French soccer player head butting his opponent in the World Cup - according to the LA Times, this, too was Bush's fault. Oh, yeah, and Katrina. If Kerry had been president, there would have been no hurricane. Because as we all know, hurricanes, like everything else, are caused by (stage whisper please...) global warming. And "global warming" is, of course, Bush's fault.

Seriously, what would you expect?
The current breed of left wingers are are so far out -- so far gone -- that they MUST concoct their own little fantasy world.

Simply read the rantings of such leftists right here like Phylo and tanabear. Philo just today wrote:

"They never had any solid evidence for their claims about nuclear weapons, or ties with al Qaida, yet the White House told us over and over again that these were certantites."

This is an irrefutable, undeniable, and demonstrable lie. Never, not once, ever did anyone from the Bush administration ever say that with certainty al-Qaida and Iraq were directly linked, nor that Iraq possessed nuclear weapons. The furthest they went on either claims is that there was intelligence indicating that this COULD be true.

Philo also claimed:

"We hate him because he lied the country into war in Iraq."

It is amusing that this comes just on the heals of William Cohen himself admitting that there was substantial evidence of the threat from Iraq, and that it was this substantial threat that caused the Clinton administration to simply ignore the ongoing threat from al-Qaida even after 4 al-Qaida-linked attacks on US soil.

Of course Philo also quacked about that report released today, and about the absence of reporting here on it. There was nothing new in that report, and the report didn't even say what Phylo claims it says -- that there was never a connection between Iraq and al-Qaida. Technically, it said there was no EVIDENCE that the Ba'athist party was helping or just allowing to run unfettered Abu Musab al Zarqawi.

Facts don't matter with people who insist on making up their own version of reality to compensate for the fact that they are total failures.

how many of you have served?
I am just wondering how many of you have served this country? I am a proud member of the armed forces and have been on the front lines and know what the fight is for. I am just so thankfull that you all have the right to free speach. I remember what one of my former CO's used to tell us and that is freedom is not free. As for this Phylo you are about as lost as can be. I am just sad that I only have 11 months left until I retire. The good thing is I won't be serveing under a DEMORAT president becasue if these morons get in office there goes our country and military.

Bush Hatred VS Clinton Hatred
I find it extremely humorous and ironic to listen to todays Repubs/cons whining and complaining that their beloved President Bush is "unloved" by Democrats and Liberals..
What hypocrites these people are..lol

Exactly WHAT do the repubs/cons called what they did to former President Clinton during his eight years in office?

Former President Clinton and his wife Sen. Hillary Clinton had to be the most villified,
hated and investigated individuals to ever occupy White House by the Repub/Con coalition.

The Clintons spawned a cottage industry of hatred by the right wing, which included many of their pundits "cashing in" by writing books of vitriolic rhetoric and many ungrounded conspiracy theories that were never proven to be correct.

The Repubs/Cons were out to "get" the Clintons from the moment he took something away from them they thought they owned: The White House..

MILLION$$$ were spent investigating EVERYONE in the Clinton administration and when none of that worked they had to sink to the ultimate low of investigating the man's private sex life and sought to impeach him for supposedly not telling the truth about whether he was having an affair or not with a young intern.

The Repubs/Cons wanted to actually overturn the results of Clinton being legally elected to the Presidency, not once but twice.. That didnt work either the impeachment failed by trial in the Senate. Watching the hateful vindictive Repubs/Cons in their frustration at not "getting" Clinton became like watching a "Road Runner" in which his nemisis "Wylie Coyote" always gets the latest gadget from "ACME" products to catch him only to have it blow up in his face.

So to sit here and listen to repubs/cons whining and complaining about "Bush Hatred" leaves me a bit unconvinced to take them seriously. After all it is they who invented the art of "character assasination thru negative politics of mudslinging" as in "sling enough mud and eventually some of will stick"

Repubs/Cons have no ground to stand on in this issue. George W. Bush causes a lot of ill feelings that are brought on to him thru his brusqe, arrogant and smirking personality and demeanour, He makes people want to just walk up to him and punch him in the face..he is the ultimate bully who pretends to be a macho tough guy in lieu of his growing up will a silver-spoon in his mouth.

At least Bill Clinton was a very likable person..
Even Newt Gingrich like him..lmao

Civil War
Sometimes I go out and capture frogs in the swamp and dress them in different outfits and have them renact various events in American History. You can see the short films at http://www.froghistory.com. Today's film is especially illuminating. It involves various toads, reverse chronology, powedered whigs and period clothing.

Saddam & WMDs
Doesn't anyone remember the UN inspections? Saddam kept saying "no you can't search there until I say you can" and then the UN would threaten and he'd let them in...and then it would start all over again.

I remember very clearly sitting in my car during Christmas week and listening to the news. There was a report of the UN telling Saddam that he faced invasion if he didn't allow the inspections to continue unmolested. He basically told them to take a flying leap.

If he DIDN'T have them, why not allow the inspections?

Oh, and Bill Clinton AND John Kerry are on record, in speeches, saying that they KNOW Saddam has WMDs. As soon as they failed to materialize - again, there is footage of planes and truck convoys heading out of Iraq and into Syria just days before we invaded, gee I wonder what was in THOSE - Clinton and Kerry spun around and said "everyone knew that there were no WMDs".

Just one man's opinion.

Thanks a lot, Lazlo!
Regarding your 10:45 AM post: I have just sprayed tea all over my monitor. Now you owe me two squirts of Windex.

It's hard to take you cons seriously....
....on this issue. All you have to do is read some of the text from the posters (in Town Hall) and you can still see the hatred for President Clinton. It has not abated in the six years he has been gone. So please spare me the "Bush is hated" stuff. He has brought much of it on himself. Read some of the posts in here on Illegal immigration and what the posters say about President Bush, words like "idiot", "traitor", etc. tend to pop up quite frequently.

left angle stupid
Here we go again, the left saying that the Republicans were mean to clinton. BS I did't like him because he was a tritor in my mind. Supposidly a man, but useing every thing he could to stay out of the draft, and then demonstrating in the strets of europe against his own country. Then disgraceing the office of President by playing hanky panky with Lewinisky. How any one left or right can think that he was a good President is beyond me. He was too scared to fight back when the islamofacists killed off our people when ever and where ever they felt like it. Why was he affraid? Most cowerds act like he did. I am a Veteran and dammed proud of it. If you haven't served in the military, my advice is to tone it down, because we are getting tired of jerks like you spweing crap about our President and theis country. If you don't like it get the He** out of the country we will not miss you.

RE: ALL BUSH LOVERS
You know what?

If you can't take that a growing MAJORITY of Americans hate the Idiot that is just to darn tough..... Get over it, and if you can't I for one could care less.

You Got It Wrong Again, Left Angle
Clinton sold highly classified military secrets to the Chicoms for campaign contributions. Treasonous. The way he handled Billy Dale and the Travel Office was arrogant abuse of power that verged on criminality. His sexual abuse of an intern revealed his alley-cat ethics to the whole world. (His was the administration that gave us the term "bimbo erruptions.") Burning children to death at Waco, Texas because "children were in danger" is another example of the derangement of that administration. Elian Gonzales anybody? He debased the office and embarrassed the country.

But did I hate him? ABSOLUTELY NOT. And neither did my conservative bretheren. Would I like to see him tried and executed as a traitor? Yes, I truly would, and I don't consider that to be evidence of hate.

On the conservative side you love the sinner and hate the sin. On the liberal side you function out a total lack of religiosity and respect for human life. (Witness "church and state" shenanigans and adoration of abortion.) I have never met an intellectually honest liberal - ever - and I expect I never will.

For the fellow traveling friends of the people who brought us the Killing Fields of Cambodia and the wanton murder of millions elsewhere in Russia, Cuba, China and North Korea, hatred comes easily and naturally.

Go stew in your own fetid juices, liberals.

The Truth Hurts..
and most of you who responded to my post have proven it...Clinton was never indicted on any crime while in the office of the Presidency of the U.S.A. yet you right wingesr keep throwing false accusastions that he was some kind on unconvicted criminal and traitor to the U.S.A.
which is outright nonsense.

There is no comparison between Clinton hatred and Bush hatred. thats why listening to you right winger whining about how your beloved President Bush (arrogant jerk that he is) is "unloved" by the left...

What it amounts to is that you Bushites can dish it out but cant "take it"...

Whine on...lol

Let's get a little history...
There has been in America, since its inception, a group of people who didn’t wish to be on the path chosen by our Founders. But they believed in America and, unlike so many of their brethern who fled to Canada and other countries in the world, they stayed. Their ideaology has lived on through the centuries. They can be found in history because they belonged to every political party that developed, split and dissapeared. They were part of the Whig, Free Soil, Know Nothings, Constitutional Union Party, Bull Moose Progressive Party and other small splinter groups. Those that supported slavery went left, those that did not went right. But, some went to both. That is why Stom Thurmond was a Republican and Robert Byrd a Democrat.

The basic ideaological difference in my opinion, was the government taking care of everyone for everything and let people live and do whatever they wanted - liberal, and the government should take care of the important things like defense and not tax and spend and guarantee individual freedoms like private property. This is a very simplisic explanation but there it is.

Both sides grew their ideaology but basically in the same vein. Then in the early part of the 20th Century a group of liberals who could not gain power independently, merged with the Democratic Party before the time of Franklin Roosevelt. Their belief and adherence to the Marxist idea of the “bourgeois” being responsible for the deplorable world conditions, along with Lenin and the Bolshevik Revolution led them to push the concept of communism. Many “travelers” which were dunned in the l950’s in fact, were later proven to be sympathizers when the USSR fell and their records were finally opened to the West.

Although the current Dean/Pelosi/Clinton group are not precisely the same, the original vien still runs through everything they stand for: the bourgeois (which, today includes them) are bad and must be made to pay for the proletariat (read workers and the poor)needs. Tax the rich.

With the exception of of four/five periods of American history, the Liberals have governed this Nation. Their loss in 2001-2005 stirred their hatred because they “lost” what had been “theirs” for so long. They want it back. But the country has now matured somewhat and with radio, the Internet and Fox the voices of the Right are also being heard throughout the land for the first time in our history. It will be an interesting decade ahead.

It is no longer as easy as it has been for over 200 hundred years to pull the wool over the eyes of the entire nation. But that 25-30% in every poll opposed to anything Right is that group of people. They enjoy what we have developed but hate the developer. And today, we are finally beginning to realize that there has been in our world an enemy so much worse then the Left or Right that has endured over 1300 years with one simple goal: kill, enslave and tax the infidel.

We must turn our attention to learning everything about this enemy and put away partisan divisions because when that sword is at our throats or neck, partisanship will not matter because we will be dead.

Sharinlite

Gil and Bush Lovers
Gil, I think what you meant to say is you COULDN'T care less.

Left and socialism
Too see why liberals (not most democrats) are like they are, look at socailst France.

The more they get what they ask government to give them the worse the nation becomes.

They have good intentions but their system of government doesn't work and they hate anyone that doesn't support their system of government.

Quick Refutation of LeftAngle
In the space between the end of this sentence & my signature, I will list all the novels published by conservatives in which the assassination of your idol Clinton is discussed, and all the movies produced by conservatives in which the assassination of your idol Clinton is staged.

Doc NoleCat

Liberal? Aren't you describing Bush?
Great article, BTW, and 100% correct. It is unethical to fantasize harm toward anyone. Yes, even as an art form, Ollie.

That aside, it is certainly no different than what we were hearing ten years ago -- only the source party and the target have changed.

Humans are just naturally intolerant creatures and the religious fanatics among them make an ugly species even worse. Islamic radicals or Christian conservatives -- identical attitudes that generate little more than hatred and bigotry.

Bald monkeys with beer and nukes. Nice.

It is very clear.
Today's leftists are a bunch of brainwashed robots. When I read what they say, or see them on TV, I'm reminded of an old movie, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"

In that movie aliens dropped coffin sized pods into farm fields somewhere in old time, agricultural, middle America. Previously planted aliens moved those pods containing not fully completed doubles of people in this small town into hiding places near the targeted human beings.

When the pod replacement matured sufficiently all it took for them to occupy the body of the targeted human was for that person to fall asleep. Doze off, and bingo, they were then members of the new, alien pod people. They looked human. They had the voices they had always had, but they were no longer real people.

Little did I know when I saw that movie that real pod people were not dropped into fields from alien space ships. They were indoctrinated in the public schools. They look like real people. But when they start talking you realize that they are not real people.

They are robots who are incapable of rational debate. They are hateful. They are incapable of accepting irrefutable evidence that their nonsensical ravings against real Americans are incredible. Their response to anything that is not in total synch with their insane ideology triggers instant rage. The name calling begins.

What comes out of these new pod people is exemplified by the ravings of Phylo, Left Angle, Tanabear and the other posters on Townhall who have been taken over by the aliens who control the educatinal system in America and in Europe. Pity them, but understand that as their rage increases it becomes a greater and greater threat to the very existence of America. Eventually they will have to be dealt with. A country this divided can not survive.

There is, of course, a slight problem with your little theory about "false accusations". Slick Willy actually admitted to a few felonies, and as part of a plea deal to avoid any trial, had been fined and lost his license to practice law, among a few other things.

RE: Mr Vice
"The middle income bracket is disappearing because more people are attaining the upper class..."

There was a de-emphasized article published by CNN/Money Magazine last May that indicated that the ranks of people whose assets exceeded $1 million (excluding their primary residence) grew to more than 7.5 million people, up over 1.5 million since 2001. That turns out to be 1 our of about every 38 men, women, and children in the United States being counted among the ranks of "millionaires". Such fast growth of millionaires sorta' debunks the left's silly notion of "the American dream is dead."

I remember one kooky leftist that I argued with tried to claim that the growth can be explained merely by more people being born into rich families, I had a pretty good laugh, seeing as how there have only been a little more than 2 million births in the US since 2001 (according to the Census Bureau data). That kook would have you believe that about 75% of the children born today are born into millionaire families, and are then each granted million-dollar bank accounts with which they can use to buy Teddy bears with.

How can anyone believe Bush is not hated
more than Clinton?

Clinton was not liked to be sure, and perhaps many GOPers went overboard. But go to DailyKos and tell me what you hear said about Bush on a daily basis.

The hatred for Bush far surpasses that of Clinton.

Philbert
"We have never had a president who was further off-target from our founding principles."

Maybe we have never had a recent Republican President as far off as Bush, but FDR, Carter and Clinton trashed the Constitution with every thing they signed.

left angle, gil, and Kali
How sad, how very sad you leftists are. At least you admit you are not caring, compassionate, or open-minded people. You do so by admitting that you are hateful people through your proud declarations of your hatred for President Bush.

I have never hated Mr. or Mrs. Clinton. I do not know of any conservative who ever hated either or both of them. Conservatives are a moral people, with our morality based on Judeo-Christian teachings and ethics. Inasmuch, we are incapable of hatred of a fellow human being. The only thing we are capable of hating is evil, so, yes, we hated and continue to hate the evil that the Clintons indulge. But we do not hate them.

You see, disagreeing with someone is not born of hatred. That is what you leftists seem to think. And I believe that is because you hate everyone who disagrees with you. And that is sad. The world would be a much better place if you stopped hating and trying to work for the greater good, in the way that President Bush does.

The one correct thing that left angle says is that Clinton was not indicted in office. The fact is that a sitting president cannot be indicted for a crime while in office. On the other hand, Clinton was impeached, which is the equivalent of indictment, but the Senate held a very poor trial and allowed Clinton's tovarishi to not remove him from office. When his term did end, however, he pled guilty to obstruction of justice, was fined, and disbarred, bringing shame to himself, his family, and to all Americans who deplore evil.

Obtuse Angle
Funny how when you discuss Clinton hatred it is some sort of noble pronouncement from on high, but when we discuss Bush hatred it is "whining." Similar hypocrisy can be seen at Time Magazine, which did a cover story on Clinton Hatred, then proceeded to become a major contributor to Bush Hatred.

Another interesting distinction is that during the Clinton years, whacky conspiracy theories were found only at the lunatic fringe of the conservative movement. (Remember Vince Foster, shooting down the plane to kill Ron Brown, the murdered teenagers who stumbled across Clinton's drug dealing operations) By contrast, today's goofy conspiracy theories (Bush lied us into war to benefit Halliburton, Bush had advance knowledge of or actively caused 9/11, Bush bombed the levees in New Orleans because he hates Blacks) are espoused by the top leaders and spokespeople of the Democrat party.

Democrats are also liable to find that a strategy of bashing the sitting President with no meaningful alternative will prove no more successful than it did for Republicans in '96. In fact, they haven't even figured out that Bush isn't running for office anymore.

Kali:
It's just as hard to take you LEFTIST's seriously.

Allow me to preface what I have to say but stating that I object to Bush’s pandering to Hispanics by not addressing the illegal immigration issue. However, I would test the objective veracity of the “Bush is an Idiot” concept coming from the “I Hate Bush” sheeple crowd. It is just another example of leftist "invalidation" techniques: all Republicans and anyone that votes Republican must be stupid, a sexist, a bigot and/or racist. Leftists seem to think that their particular ideology imbues them with an esoteric insight on all matters pertaining to the reality in general and the human condition in particular. If the rest of us were intelligent enough to appreciate the subtle beauty of social engineering (gender/racial quotas, wealth-redistribution, etc.) we would of course be leftists as well. Hence, because we don't agree with the dominant leftist-paradigm we must be stupid. Reality? Bush’s 1260 SAT score is higher than the SAT scores of 90% of the “hyphenated Americans” currently being admitted to Ivy League schools. His 126 IQ provides further objective proof about his intelligence level. Please note that I used the term "leftist" vice "liberal" because ostensibly liberal individuals are most illiberal people of this day and age.

Additionally, Bush, unlike Clinton, doesn't have the MSM (e.g., ABC) functioning as faithful "water carriers" on his behalf. And outside of the Right-wing conspiracy wackos who talked about Clinton smuggling drugs via Mena (sp?), Arkansas, I didn't hear a lot of marginally mainstream pundits calling for Clinton's death nor making a movie pertaining to the possibility.

Left Angle
I understand your position, I actually voted for Clinton, twice, in my stupidity through the 90's, but you are not being honest if you are not owning up to the fact that President Clinton acted irresponsibly over the career of his political tenur(sp).

For all that you feel he must have done for America, of which I can't think of one thing...perhaps the Americorp program, but I was part of that program and it was a waste of money - complete waste of money and I was part of the ilk that participated, unfortunately.

Clinton will be remembered for Monica and pretty much nothing else. He acted irresponsibly time and again and the following is the greatest of all of these in comparisson to President Bush:

1) How many times did Clinton have Bin Laden in his sights, prior to 9/11, to take him out and didn't act? Answer: 8 -10 (depending on your source, mine was Lt. Col. "Buzz" Patterson and Mike Scheurer)

2) How many times did Bush have Bin Laden in his sights, prior to 9/11, to take him out? Answer: 0

After Clinton's pathetic behavior I started paying more attention to the Republicans, thinking that I was missing something. I was - it was called integrity. I lost mine and allowed rationalization to excuse Clinton's disgusting behavior. By understanding the concepts of accountability and responsibility, how else could I behave at this time in my life and see Clinton any other way? If you truly have acquired these qualities, you can't even try and force yourself to see him any other way.

Liberal Democrats often remind me of addicts. They behave in much the irrational, emotional, and extremist of ways. They play all the sick games that addicts do - rationalize, deflect, manipulate, control, sublimate, you name it, they've done it and all in the name of MY best interest. Yet, if you really look at their record, they've not done anything for my best interest, only their own.

Democrats live a life of vast hypocrisy. They live the high life with all the money and denounce the very capitalism that gives them that "high" life. They cry for the underpriveledge but they live in mansions on the waters of Malibu. They scream Global Warming and run around ing jet planes and SUV's.

I can understand your vitriol towards Republicans, it often happens when the addict is confronted with the truth. They lash out, get angry, make accusations, and are desperate to stay in denial so as not to crush their distortion of reality.

Wow! Good luck with that.

Re: Left Angle
First, you present a rather lengthy comparison of rightward hatred of President Clinton with leftward hatred of President Bush. Later, you say, "There is no comparison between Clinton hatred and Bush hatred."

So, why did you make the comparison?

beowolfe: So what do you call these?
Christian Coalition Founder and Chairman Pat Robertson recently implied that President Clinton is deserving of assassination. ...

Ann Coulter said the debate over Clinton should have been "whether to impeach or assassinate".

And here's the Clinton assassination comment:

"There was one time I had a shot at Clinton. I thought 'Ann, that's not going to help your career.'"

Actually, I give the Slickster credit for one major accomplishment--he significantly advanced global free trade through GATT and NAFTA, bucking the labor goons and isolationists of his own party.

Philbert: Principles
We have never had a president who was further off-target from our founding principles.

+You obviously aren't familiar with the contempt Mr. Lincoln had for said "principles": Income tax, suspension of the "Writ of Habeas Corpus", etc...

I hope you have at least read the US Constitution and The Federalist Papers. If not, do. You'll be even prouder to be an American.

+Our “Government” hasn’t been functioning in an overtly “Constitutional” manner since the 1860’s. Bush is hardly its greatest abuser/detractor. Look at the FDR, JFK and LBJ administrations sometime before tossing the Bush administration on the “Ash Heap of History.”

+Do say hello for me at your next meeting of the "John Birch Society."

Re: Philbert
You said: "Islamic radicals or Christian conservatives -- identical attitudes that generate little more than hatred and bigotry."

You can't really be that blind. Can you?

I suppose I should at least give you credit for not believing that homosexuals can peacefully coexist with Islamic radicals, but not Christian conservatives.

(Carter was merely ineffective.)

It isn't OK to 'trash the Constitution' or, as Bush has commented "just a go**amned piece of paper", whether you're a democrat, a republican, an independent, or a libertarian.

I think it's a mistake to legitimize our party's faults by claiming they're no worse than the other party's faults. Agreed?

"On 9-11-01, President Bush was in charge of and responsible for the National Security of the United States.

Former President Bill Clinton was NOT.

No amount of Repub/Con revisionism will change that FACT."

As far as your comments about what you THINK DEMOCRATS are and how they think and live their lives is pure repub/con fantasy and a load of horse manure..as a matter of fact sounds like you are talking about repubs/cons who I am convinced live in a "alternate universe' that has nothing to do with reality..lol

Sorry, but no one on the right can be taken seriously in their outrage over the name-calling and talks of assasination until the right itself rejects Ann Coulter, who makes a (very good) living aiming that same invective at the left.

"I suppose I should at least give you credit for not believing that homosexuals can peacefully coexist with Islamic radicals, but not Christian conservatives."

Heh heh!

Actually, I'm surprised a person with brown hair can peacefully coexist with a person with blonde hair. (it's easy to find news reports that support that they can't) It just isn't our nature to be tolerant.

Yeah, some of us can smile and suppress the cringe of distaste (the willies) when someone "truly different" wanders into our territorial bubble, but our natural instinct is to tear them apart with our bare hands. I wonder what the long-term costs are for that suppressed rage.

concord2123
"until the right itself rejects Ann Coulter"

But.....Ann Coulter is hot.

I'm sorry. It had to be said.

Left Angle
Your response is merely an attempt to "deflect" the responsibility of capturing/killing Bin Laden, thus thwarting 9/11. This is typical of your behavior on the lib/dem side - I used to be one, I know. And no amount of dem/lib revisionism is going to refute THAT fact. Again, it's that addict behavior that attempts to use forms of "game playing" to throw off the facts that stare you so clearly in the face.

I don't just THINK dems act a particular way, I lived it, and through other liberal dems, was encouraged in my thought process at the time, so my credential, as it were, of being a dem for about 17 years is not without understanding of the behavior. But, nice try.

If you weren't such a coward about the subject, then you would apply my theory to the dems you know and are most familiar with and break it down, politician by politician and issue by issue. It's how I came to understand the inpropriety that they thrust on this country and how I came to change my point of view.

This isn't to say that Republicans are perfect, they're not. In fact, the furthest of right-wingers are the opposite of you, they're the "recovered" types who are just as extreme as you are, it's the more moderate voice that understands balance, but I would certainly rather be in the foxhole with a Republican than a democrap. Republicans fight the fight. Democraps want to talk about feelings and try to negotiate where negotiations have no value. In fact, I can't think of one time that "negotiations" for peace, ever stick or have stuck. Nothing during my lifetime of 42 years.

Oh and BTW
Before you decide to demean my analogy of addict/recovered, I worked as a therapist for 7 years, crisis intervention with the police department, worked with the homeless and runaway youth population, and graduated with a GPA of 4.0 - Summa Cu(m) Laude - just in case you thought I was "stupid" like your side thinks Bush is. Yeah, and my MBA is based on a 4.0 in Human Resource Management, as well. It won't keep you from trying to demean my position, but it speaks to my understanding of the subject, not just educationally, but personally.

concord2123
Just because Ann is to the far right, does not justify your behavior or anyone like you who demeans the President. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I do agree that Ann is vitriolic many, many times in her views, I disgree more than I agree. But I have the fortitude to listen and take those things which ring true, not extremist, and assimilate. It's irresponsible to behave otherwise. Just as it would be irresponsible for me NOT to hear what dems have to say and apply the same behavior.

Too often though, I find myself not agreeing with dems because they want to blame rather than taking the high road and presenting solutions.

Not one time has President Bush said anyting about President Clinton with regard to UBL. Yet Clinton took opportunity, if I'm not mistaken, during Rosa Park's funeral to take swipes at President Bush. And it wasn't the first time.

When you speak of someone having decorum, Clinton isn't the name I would EVER think of at any time.

Osama and the cost of a "hit"
I heard a rumor that the CIA, under the Clinton admin, was 'That Close' to nailing that spinach-chin windbag and failed to do so because of some beauracratic nonsense.

I also heard that it was at Clinton's good buddy's (GHW Bush) request that OBL was spared.

I can ignore the tin-hat aspects of both rumors, but......

I wonder who managed that CIA op and what that operation cost. I bet it was less than $500,000.

How much have we spent to NOT get even close - except two months before 9/11 when the CIA escorted him to a hospital for his messed-up kidneys? Some say $650B, some say more. We'll never know but

I bet we can do this a lot cheaper with a better president. McCain, for example.

...BTW
Too often though, I find myself not agreeing with dems because they want to blame rather than taking the high road and presenting solutions.

AND they rarely, if ever, take responsibility for their actions and show accountability to the American people. Issue by issue we can easily debate their failure of these qualities.

scooter nyc: youre a funny dude..

And whats really funny is that you take yourself

You sound like an "unhinged" right wing lunatic.

politics isnt a addiction for me or other democrats..it is what it is..just a important
part of life and a philosopy of how to govern.

I could never be a republican:

No, I dont want to be in a fox hole with them..they scare the bejabbers out of me...lmao

You are not understanding the situation for which we are at war, not some police problem. Our enemy is one who doesn't care about life and admires death as more important. I think Rush said this recently that, "how do you negotiate with someone who believes that your death is the starting point?".

Money is irrelevant in this fight, efficiency is the key. For us to learn this efficiency we will most likely make mistakes along the way. I wonder how many times in your own life you made choices, in the face of what you knew at that moment, that in hindsight turned out that you could've made a better choice, but didn't. You made the best choice based on what you knew, when you knew it.

Your lack of understanding is explicit by the mere fact that you would even present rumors. Rumors are the food of gossips who are closer to the bottom feeders of our society with little nutrition to our society.

Left Angle
Let's start with Bill Clinton. A sex addict if I ever saw one or worked with one. We could just go down your list from there.

You miss the point, not surprisingly. The point is that their BEHAVIOR is representative of addicts, which if you understand that premise, you then understand my point. Being one yourself, you probably don't get it, not shocking.

I'm for a woman's right to choose; I'm for school vouchers; I'm for gay civil unions; I'm for separation of church/state, so your theories about Republicans is faulty. Thus my comments about Dems who are actually moderate voices. It just shows how distorted your point of view is and the amount of extremism that you spring from.

And....

I'm glad to see that you aren't prejudiced, judgmental or intolerant. I'm quite sure that you are capable of making this informed assessment of each and every republican (is that supposed to be an upper- or lower-case r?) within ten seconds of meeting them... and without them coming straight out and identifying themselves, to you, as R/republicans.

Thanks for that little gem.

I'll agree with this only in discussions about Afghanistan.

Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism.

It never did.

I don't think you've been following current events, Scooter. Shame. Look what you did. ;o)

We need to be there -- but for purely strategic reasons. We need to proceed too, like it or not.

I dislike being lied-to, but we either have to be there now, while we're strong, or be conquered by others later.

Ask your military friends and see if I'm not 100% on that.

Shrinque.

I understand that you Right Wingers are loving and caring people and can't just understand our horrible, horrible ways.

You attacked Clinton and called him a rapist only because you love him so much and wanted for him to stop. You call us apeassers, idiots, fags, traitors, etc, etc. .... Because you are concerned about our cultural ignorance.

Please continue with your insults toward us, we are here to take, but not to give.... And it would not be fair if actually some one on the left start calling to your attention how hypocritical Republicans are.

RE: Scoternyc
Hey Scot.

You are making your side look terrible.

Your side is complaining about us Liberals calling Bush names, and what do you do?

Start with Clinton!!

Keepit up and you are going to make people believe that Republicans are HYPOCRITES.

Dear Right Wingers
In Blogs like this one comes to understand why we had a Civil War.

Many times, I find myself "following" the crowd and behaving like a 5 year old. That is the only way one can get answers in a Blogosfere crowded with partisans that can't even think staight any more.

A respectful exchange of ideas is not your cup of tea right people?

It starts with why Liberals hate Bush, then we get a bunch of "fair" and "objective" right wingers calling Liberals all kinds of insults to demand that they stop insulting their President, and add in Clinton insults to boot..... This would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

Liberals of course respond in kind and Presto!! we have a good old food fight...... Guns any one?..... Maibe we can remember that we are all suposed to be Americans first. If We keep on forgeting this little detail, and one day there will be guns not words.

And Sue (Read her comment)will have "A Little History" to add on to her side of things; "It took 200 years for Liberals to loose power in our Nation"... And it took 15 for Right Wingers to loose theirs.

Philbert
I stand guilty as charged. I did call these individuals pod people. I used the anology to make a point. Please don't forget that I also stated that they represent a mortal danger to the survival of this nation.

Also don't overlook the damage the public indoctrination mills we call public schools have done to America. They were turning out brainwashed, under educated leftist robots for decades before it became known. Just like pod people they walk among us. Like pod people, when they open their mouths they spout insane leftist gibberish.

Liberals, progressives, socialists, it makes no difference. The Democrat Party represents their views and their agenda. Calling them names is mild compared to what should be done to them. We are in a war for survival. They are traitors who work to weaken America's will to win. Lose and we all die. You bet I am calling them names. They earn those names every time they post their delusional drivel on this site.

You need better examples, L.Angle
Aw c'mon, Left Angle. Ann's comments were both funny and after Clinton left office. It's not the same.

But I certainly didn't know that "Christian Coalition Founder and Chairman Pat Robertson recently implied that President Clinton is deserving of assassination"!!!!! That I didn't know says something. That he "implied" such a thing, after Clinton LEFT office (thus "recently") really isn't quite like making a movie about it during his presidential term.

And frankly, since Clinton has chosen NOT to fade from sight after he disgraced his office, he makes it hard to avoid commenting about him. Bush I, given many opportunities to comment on the classless and/or illegal activities of then-Pres. Clinton, declined to comment. Republicans really need to learn the Demo tricks. That too-much-class thing got in Bush I's way. Not a problem for Clinton though, huh?

Name-Calling
We're a divided country. That is a worse situation than any of the accusations floating around either side of The Hill these days.

Divided peoples are weak. Divided peoples are easily conquered. If you think that nobody wants to conquer us, well, you are very wrong. Let us know how that works out for you.

Just because Bush (or anyone) stoops to name-calling doesn't mean it's a good idea. It widens that divide and it's treasonous in-spirit.

Nothing to do with terrorism??
Oh my goodness, Philbert, if Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism and never did, who the heck is killing our guys and Iraqi civilians--men, women, children, indiscriminately--with the IEDs and suicide bombs and whatever else they can.

And you can't really say they had "nothing" to do with terrorism when Saddam was paying the proud families of suicide bombers who killed Israeli men, women and children.

Lordy, Lordy, the Left truly IS blind.

Do you really believe that? That we're at war with liberals?

At odds, sure, on some topics, I follow you that far.

To say that we're (conservatives) at war, with 'them' (liberals), is -- and I'm only estimating here -- about 450,000 DC volts of NUTCASE talk.

Oh wait. I don't name-call. Sorry.

I'm not at war with anyone, except enemies of the US Constitution.

A lot of things the Dems do annoy me, but we (conservatives) have control of ALL THREE branches of government right now, and my party isn't doing JACK to correct the past mistakes. In fact, they are making them much worse with each passing day.

Maybe you need to redirect some of that anger and frustration to where it really belongs: the slackers and thieves in our current government.

I know I feel betrayed every day and it really burns my back side.

world according to Left Anger
1. Ann is not a politician. She does not hold any office I know of. The people spouting this bullcr@p about Bush ARE.

2. Lost Angle believes that 9/11 planning started in January 2001 when Bush took office. Forget that a new administration takes several months to settle in. Doesn't matter he was supposed to catch up on 8 years of gutting the CIA.

3. Factless baseless claims about Bush and Big oil are ok, but Clinton pardoning his FELONIOUS buddies, stealing FBI files(you know like the hated Nixon), as well as ignoring a litany of attacks in the 90s is Just Peachy.

Glad we got all that straight.

Insurgents. We created them, fueled their anger, and gave them a mighty cause, by blowing them up with smart bombs and depleted uranium rounds.

It's a chicken/egg thing, madam.

You've seen the movie "Patriot"? Why did Mel Gibson and the other colonialists become insurgents?

They're a backwards people. They war amongst themselves in a routine way that we abandoned 150 years ago. We truly rock.

Sadaam, using time-tested methods, managed to barely keep a lid on things.

We removed that lid because we thought we could contain the mess and because we NEED to have a strong military presence in that region, no matter what it costs.

We need to continue into Iran if we are to maintain our way of life, near-term, and have good strategic positioning for the inevitable end-game. I think everyone knows what that end-game is all about...

So, call them 'terrorists' or whatever you like, but first consider how you would react if your fortunes were reversed with theirs.

And another thing; if we're all about nailin' some durn evil-doers, how about stopping the REALLY bad guys like Kim Jong Il, OBL, and Barbara Streisand?

Left Angle writes:

Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism.

I suggest you read the transcript from Dr.David Kay at the 9/11 Senate hearings, you will glean much from it as I did - of course, if you can hold your attention span that long as it's 51 pages.

To make the claim that Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism, is again, to not have a clear understanding of the enemy, but surely that's not surprising given the foundation from which you spring forth.

And in response to Gil: you apparently aren't familiar with the concept known as truth. The truth is that President Clinton is a sex addict by all accounts and diagnosis, since you apparently aren't qualified, nor care to educate yourself in the understanding of the terminology, I can only glean from your comments that you are stupid and lack the capacity to look it up on the web to further your own knowledge.

You don't have the guts to debate the issues for which I have listed regarding the irresponsible and lack of accountability issues that came from the Clinton administration, you would much rather hone in on the "emotional" apsect of things written. This is a typical democrap response, everything is emotional to you people, nothing of intellect. That's fine, we are aware of your underdevelopment as a species. We hope for the best for your party, but we don't hold our breath.

Grateful American
I missed that point to make about Clinton vs. Bush, thanks for making it.

Cheers!

Slimy Clinton
Sure, Clinton is a bit creepy -- like a used-car salesman -- and he has the ethics of a rotting eggplant, but then look who one of his best friends is:

George Herbert Walker Bush

That's "Dubya's daddums", as many other Yale grads would put it.

Clinton is a liar. How do I know? Because he is a politician. It goes with the job.

Dubya is not one bit better, and perhaps a lot worse -- at least Clinton doesn't sound like an inner-city welfare hoodlum with an affected drawl, and Clinton didn't grope foreign dignitaries. Yet. I don't think he did, anyway.

Q: How can you tell a politician is lying?
A: Their lips are moving.

Liberals: quit defending Clinton. He's seedy, lying, scum and always has been. It didn't change just because he built a presidential library that looks like the world's biggest double-wide trailer.

Conservatives: quit defending Bush. He's an incompetent, a liar, and he's serving only his friends best interests. Not yours.

Libertarians: take those tin hats off. They look ridiculous and clash with your nose stud. Sheesh. ANd go brush your teeth.

(See? you don't have to call names.)

Philbert
You're attempt at being "evolved" and "wise" is just a sham and a scam. You have no clear understanding of human behavior and therefore have no way to evaluate others, your perspective is so amazingly "simpleton" and without thought or intellect. Perhaps you are attempting to imitate Rush Limbaugh or perhaps Ann Colter? Poor attempts at either.

scooternyc
"To make the claim that Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism, is again, to not have a clear understanding of the enemy"

If the document had been assembled by those in a position to know -- a committee of US and foreign intelligence authorities -- it might have have been useful and saved lives. As it was assembled by a liar (ie, a politician) what wisdom or comfort can or should we draw from it?

If you believe ANYthing you hear from a politician, then you are a fool. If you learn nothing else from history, learn that. It works.

"but surely that's not surprising given the foundation from which you spring forth."

Keep your mom out of this, son.

Do you love your country enough?
Are you guys really not able to see beyond Republican vs. Democrat????????????????? Democrats stink, but then again, so do Republicans. At one time in history, there really was a difference between these 2 parties. These days however, it's just like 2 factions of the same exact Party. Haven't you noticed how one can start something and if the other party is elected next time, the agenda is continued? Geez.

Clinton was a slime and a traitor, in my opinion, for at the very least his dealings with Red China, not to mention the drug running at Mena, Arkansas. George Bush is no better. In fact, the whole Bush family is more than a little questionable. Check out the S&L scandal and how about Prescott Bush and his association with Union Bank and the money-laundering for the Nazis. Think I'm lying? I dare you. Look it up.

We have wholesale treason going on in Washington D.C. right now. Do you love your country enough to see beyond Party politics? Or is it more important for you to pray to the Party god or to Dubya?

BTW... I handed out literature for Barry Goldwater's campaign when I was a small child. My first vote as an adult was for Reagan. So, don't even try to discount what I'm saying by calling me a liberal.

score 1 for left angle
Okay, I'll concede that Clinton anger may be as vitrolic as Bush anger. Is this okay with you? Does this strike you as civil political discourse? I supsect that you are a peace at any cost Democrat. Doesn't this mean that you are an example of peaceful discourse? Isn't your love of humanity behind your desire to see an end to all war? How is it that certain human beings aren't good enough for your utopian ideal? See, I don't understand why your hatred is focused on one dude in the US when there are people who want to kill you just because you were born in a Western country (presumably). Is it because you think that if you say enough bad things about an American then the fanatics will embrace you? Of all the targets for hatred it's amazing to me that you're not focused on someone like, say, Lenin or Stalin or Pol Pot or Hitler or Idi Amin; people who have real crimes under their belts. Instead you create stuff to keep the hatred going. You don't even need evidence. You thunk it so it must be true.

Incedently, I was smitten by Sue's post. I'd like to get to know you better.

Philbert and the looney tune left
I realize that it takes great character and strength of resolve to pull yourself out of denial about being a democrap and taking the bold and courageous steps of becoming Independent or Republican. Both of those parties stand for accountability and responsibility. Neither qualities are of the democraps, I know.

The act of debate with you and others on this blog is useless for your posts will always reveal your ignorance for intelligence in being able to evaluate behavior and information in a manner that is respectful and useful. The hope for most of us, I would suspect, here on this site is that moderate reasonable voices will debate important issues with which we can effect change in our country as we continue to fight the war on terror and create a nation of success.

Perhaps one day something unique in your life will move you to the place of understanding, and then perhaps not. In either case, it's more important that clear, reasonable, moderate voices continue to speak out to those that are OPEN to understanding and change, rather than the useless and futile act of responding to ignorance, intollerance and stupidity - much, almost all, from the democraps side. You have not had the testicular fortitude to address any of the statements that I posted, instead you fixate on the weakest of aspects from which you think you can create a "sound bite" for the site.

Good luck to your party in the elections, cause you'll need it.

The Greatest President
The greatest president of the 20th century is BILL CLINTON. Now I know I'm on a conservative web site and many bloggers will disagree. That's fine. But I can't recall a former president being talked about this much almost 6 years after his administration ended. You're talking about Bush hatred, well at least he's still in office and is open to critisism. CLINTON has been out of office for almost 6 years, yet there is almost as many references to him as there is Bush as a result of Jacoby's article. Six years (or 1 for that matter) after Bush leaves office he'll be forgotten. Can the right please get over their hatred of BILL CLINTON and concentrate on the president that's leading our country backwards today.

Bend over and kiss your dumb a-ss goodbye, because it's almost over, even if there are many, as ignorant as you, that don't have enough sense to pour pee out of a boot, with the directions on the heel, too braiwashed to understand the truth.

I mean, do you REALLY think things can just go on ad nauseum?, Forever? Or maybe you think there will be "peace", Ha! Get real!

Gil is mending his ways!
Gil writes: "I can call you and Right Wingers a hundred different names, but you know what? I don't want to decend to your lebel.... It stinks down there."

VERY GOOD, GIL! I'm glad that you learned something from our little discussion yesterday! And people are responding to you, too. Congratulations!

P.S. Oh, you might want to cool it as far as calling other hypocrits for name-calling, Gil. You are not yet (1 day) far enough removed from that for it not to rebound and smack you in the face.

Almost everyone over the age of 40 has served in the armed forces. This is not the high point ov everyones life.
Excuse me,everyone over 40 except Robert Byrd,Bill Clinton and foremost Teddy ( I'll toast to that) Kennedy.
We must also acknowledge that Bush DID NOT LIE.
If anyone thinks we are wrong for going into Iraq then you must vote out all Democratic and Republican politicians for they voted for the war with the same intelligence that Clinton and gore swore to that said Saddam had to be taken down.
There were WMDs . Saddam killed thousands of Iranians and thousands of his own people with them. Don't keep lying to yourselves!

The Liberals wishful thinking
We know what they're doing. The Democrats and those who call for the death of President Bush are hoping that their message is recieved by some nut who hates President Bush as much as they do. This way they can blame whatever happens to President Bush on some nut and not themselves. First you talk about it, make a movie about it and someone is going to think their doing the world a favor in assassinating President Bush. The message that is being sent, is that it's no big deal harming a President. This one is a failure and a threat to the American people, more then the terrorist are. It's not our fault if some terrorist happens to assassinate an American President. We're just pointing out what a lousy job President Bush is doing. His fail policies attracted those who wants to assassinate him. It's not our fault if someone wants to assassinate President Bush because of his foreign policies. The Democrats would be the first to claim their hands were clean of the whole matter. After watching the Path to 9/11 can you imagine how many people wants to harm former president Bill Clinton right now. The Democrats have turned cheerleaders in calling for the death of an American President because this President speaks to God, is a patriot and loves the American people. This is something the Democrats will not tolerate.

YES!!!
Totally agree!

We must study George Bush Thought to be more pure in our thoughts and deeds. Any non-comformity to George Bush Thought is reactionary and revisionist! Long live our Dear Leader!

I wrote this song as a devotion to Him:

From Texas mountains, 1000km long beautiful realm .
All look up to the President and cheer him.
He is the people's leader to inherit the great work of the Sun.
Long live, long live, President George W. Bush!

Millions of flowers on the earth tell us his love.
Blue waves of the ocean sing of his work.
He is the creator of happiness to grow the garden of Ju-che.
Long live, long live, President George W. Bush!

He protects freedom with his courage like steel.
He makes our country famous in the world.
He is the defender of justice with a flag of autonomy.
Long live, long live, President George W. Bush!

I tried to go to your blog. I never could get past the donation requests and other 'stuff'. Never got to the chase.

I can see it now
The subversives do everything in their power and propaganda to entice some nut into assination. And then after the fact they wring their hands and push for ever more stringent gun control.

I did 6 on Cruisers and Destroyers and spent my share of time patrolling the Formosa Straits. My Cruiser went 40 miles up the river and tied up in Saigon.

So Left Angle, it really is you.
After Snap and I ran you off of BB at slate I'm surprised that you are still posting any where.

I see you still haven't learned anything. Still playing that same old worn out game of constantly moving the goal posts so that you never have to admit to being wrong.

PS did you ever take those night school classes to improve your math skills?

Conservative vs. liberal
Scooternyc: you are right about everything here, and you say it with intelligence and erudition. Left Angle and all you other liberals, you need to go back and read scooter's submissions very carefully. They are well thought out and well written. Scooter does not resort to idiotic name-calling and plays on words to make unfounded points. Wake up! We are at war with jihadists who just want you and me dead. Why don't you get that? Bill Clinton was a major contributor to our current problems, and George Bush is trying to solve them.

Gee, Left Angle
You really pegged me with your description of Republicans, and why you could never be one.
This Jewish Hispanic lady with a Black Pastor husband who both happen to be Conservative Christian Republicans, thank you for your valuable insight.

Interesting, while we are out there laboring for the poor and drug addicted on the streets, I never run across anyone from the oh so compassionate left.

Play the issue not the man
the supporters of the Bush Administration have to address certain facts which are stubborn as they are problematic for the administration:

Scott Ritter and Hans Blix of UNSCOM said that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and they should know as they were the ones organising the inspections.

There was never a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda. One was a secularist regime whilst the latter was a religious fundamentalist movement.

The fortune that the Administration has spent on the war has enriched many people including Halliburton shareholders amongst many others while the government washes its hands of the victims of Katrina.

Just to bring it back to the subject…
I'm currently watching the docudrama in question here in the UK, and - to be honest - it's less disturbing than the director's previous work which focussed on a confluence of events that lead to two passenger jets colliding over what used to be my home town.

The point of the "piece" is not that it seeks to demonise GWB - it certainly doesn't - but it does draw the viewer's attention to the potential dangers of removing certain historical legal safeguards alongside the neo-McCarthyite demonisation of anybody with an Islamic background who may have acted foolishly with regards to their cultural identity in the days prior to 9/11 (just as some people both in the UK and USA flirted with Communism or Fascism when it was fashionable in the Thirties)

These factors combine in the "movie" to provide an expedient shortcut for investigators who are acting on a prejudiced predisposition as opposed to conducting a thorough investigation. And the final warning of the piece is that - despite the fact that the (Muslim) man originally convicted is ultimately proved to be innocent - the prejudice against him as a Muslim combined with the awful truth about the ultimate identity of the assassin conspire to leave him behind bars despite the fact that he has committed no crime.

The movie could just as well have been called "Death of a Prime Minister" and been set either here in the UK or in Italy or Spain. However, the way the political system works in the USA (where your head of state is also the head of the executive branch) means that the "Death Of A President" would have a more significant impact on both your national psyche and politics as well as having a global impact.

BTW, any Republican living under the delusion that the "Left" craves the death of GWB is, quite frankly, two slices of bread short of a picnic; do they really think that the Left craves the idea of Dick Cheney becoming POTUS 44? To most Libs, I'm relatively certain that the very idea borders on nightmarish, especially as - due to an outpouring of public sympathy - the guy would get re-elected in 2008.

Seriously, some people here need to get a grip on reality.

there is more being made of this film th
i have just watched this film'. It does not glorify the killing of george bush but is more of a warning to any liberals as to what will happen to their 'Rights to Freedom'if it does ever happen.

Just a question.....Why do you think 'Jihadists' want to kill you?
