Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The new Democratic Congress and Senate have just begun their work. It seems that they will take a color-by-the-numbers approach to their first 100 days. In other words, they will attempt to address some of the reasons Americans asked for political change – the war and political corruption. Aggressive clear cut action on these issues will strongly bolster their support and prove that there is a new sheriff in town.

This is a wise strategic approach except that they are not addressing the 800 pound gorilla sitting in the room along with these concerns. The gorilla leering at the nation from the corner of the room is the problem of U.S. immigrations policy.

Immigration is perhaps the second most important issue of the next two years - after the war in Iraq. The reason for its importance is five-fold:

1. The cost of many American products and services will go up as “illegals” are prosecuted or given amnesty.

2. Domestic security can be breached by Al Quaeda and other groups.

3. Hardened criminals and gang members are crossing the borders along with eager workers seeking a better life.

4. The availability of meaningful work for minorities and other Americans at the lower end of the economic spectrum will shift dramatically based upon the direction taken.

5. A dynamic increase in the number of Hispanic voters could shift the balance of power in U.S. politics.

The recent treatment of Hispanics, West Indians, and others in the immigration process could well be called “the new slavery.” Legal immigrants have taken low paying and dangerous jobs in order to make ends meet. On the other hand, illegal aliens have slipped into the nation and are beginning to undermine the delivery of basic services in education, healthcare, and law enforcement.

In addition, the INS has been very arbitrary in how it enforces the current laws. Individual legal aliens from African and Caribbean nations sometimes feel persecuted. Conversely, illegal Hispanics seem to be treated too leniently. In addition, there seems to be a mysterious lack of enforcement of the rules and regulations as far as businesses are concerned.

Neither party wants to take this issue on immediately. Democrats and Republicans alike are avoiding moving immigration to the front burner. Although everyone knows of the Republican division around the theme of immigration, the Democrats may be just as divided behind the scenes. No one plans on making it an issue in the first 100 hours or first 100 days of the 110th Congress. In fact, the Democrats have set the 6 following areas as their next focus:

1. Real Security at Home and Overseas

2. Better American Jobs – Better Pay

3. College Access for All

4. Energy Independence – Lower Gas Prices

5. Affordable Health Care – Life-Saving Science

6. Retirement Security and Dignity

The GOP may also feel that immigration may be a little too hot to handle immediately because of the fallout they received in the last election. President Bush’s immigration policy proposals which included a guest worker program became quite divisive. There are two camps who oppose guest worker programs: 1.) those who want enforcement first and followed by guest worker programs and 2.) those who want enforcement only, like Tom Tancredo.

Rhetoric like “we will lose our national character" may have caused members like Henry Bonilla (TX) to loose their seats. Further, J. D. Hayworth (AZ) drew a line in the sand with his book: Whatever It Takes: Illegal Immigration, Border Security and the War on Terror. As a result of this immigration stand, connections to Abramoff, and a myriad of other issues, Hayworth lost his seat in Congress. Overall, the GOP dropped about 15 points in Hispanic support during the midterm elections.

Perhaps the biggest sign that we are ignoring the gorilla is the case of the two U.S. border patrol agents who have been sentenced to decade-long prison terms for apprehending an illegal alien at our border. These agents shot and wounded an escaping illegal alien, drug smuggler in the rear end.

The drug smuggler, who was given immunity for testifying against the agents, is now suing the U.S. for $5 million. He claims that he was permanently injured. Since the incident 18 months ago, the smuggler has been arrested for bringing an even larger amount of drugs into the U.S. in an unrelated case.

In conclusion, let me reiterate that immigration reform is the second most significant issue on our political plate. I call upon conservatives to begin to develop a clear approach to the problem. I personally plan to help mobilize the evangelical Christian movement, including the black church, to take an anti-amnesty stand while vigorously protecting our borders.

In future articles, I will talk more about the moral, social, and biblical reasons for my position. In the meantime, I have just signed a petition calling for the President to pardon these two border agents. Further, I am asking you to join with me by contacting your lawmakers and calling the White House -202-456-1111.

raidencraig, you are a true American!
But my point is this. All that you have posted is excellent but most likely the majority of people who are watching the issue of illegal immigration already have and continue to contact our leaders to no avail. A friend of mine has just about given up. I try to keep her going but she knows our leaders are not working for us and refusing to listen. She even called the White House to ask Bush why her brother is in Iraq risking his life when Americans are in danger everyday because illegal aliens are flooding our borders!! They don't listen!

I can ask ten people if they know about the SPP and the NAU and all ten will say no! I ask if they know about the Family Reunification Program, again "no." Or the anchor baby law and most if not all say "no." My point is we need to reach those people who don't have a clue. Those who know what's going on are doing everything they can and yet as we speak the Senate will try to pass a bill tomorrow legalizing 1.5 million ag workers!

We are not winning! We need all the masses united with one voice! Every day we lose ground!

To Raidencraig
As I stated in a post on a different thread, the Supremes have never really addressed the Anchor Baby issue directly. The controlling case is U.S. v. WONG KIM ARK, 169 U.S. 649 (1898). This dealt with a child of LEGAL aliens and thus met the "controlling" part of the 14th amendment. The other case sometimes referenced is Plyler v. Doe , 457 U.S. 202 (1982. This case dealt with a child brought into the country illegally and whether or not that child had the right to an education in a U.S. School. I have no doubt that under the current court that they would make anchor babies really legal if it came to that, but they actually haven't ruled on it.

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner stood up..
Only Wisconsin Congressman James Sensenbrenner was willing to stand up to both parties. It was refreshing to see him do it. He paid a political price for wanting to secure our borders. It's a shame that men of principle, who take a stand, suffer professionally.

The problem with politics is that career wise, the position to take, is appearing to be on both sides of the fence. Straddling the fence (ouch) never was a comfortable position for me.

Guess that's why I lost this fall, against a 'factory' dairy farmer, who had his milk contaminated by an undocumented, who then took off to Mexico. Irony was, my opponent (Gary Tauchen) was served on the bio-terrorism committee (LOL).

So, what is wrong with this picture?
What's wrong with this picture is "we the people!"

We have to do more than sit here and complain. I have tried in the past to get all the groups who are trying to stop the invasion of illegal aliens and take our country back, to come together as one group to fight our government and demand our Constitution and immigration laws be upheld. We must demand illegal aliens be deported and the anchor baby law be reversed and that the Family Reunification Program be put to an end!

Millions of Americans are against any guest worker or amnesty plan. Look at the polls. The only people who are in favor are those who don't give a damn about America and those who don't have all the facts. Can you imagine the impact we would have if all of us across the U.S. of like mind were going to our government as one group and one voice? They would have to listen to us and they would have to uphold our laws and the Constitution of "we the people."

The problem with all these various anti-immigration groups is that there is always the element of pride, vanity and ego not to mention the incomes some are making to lead their groups. They all work hard and claim some victory but the fact is we still face the reality that our government is moving forward to destroy America and our way of life. These groups don't want to give up their pedestals. But if we don't come together as one group we remain weaken and can easily be pushed aside by our politicians. Several million coming together will be a voice and a force that cannot be pushed aside.

We have to be as serious as the illegal aliens and their supporters. And remember, our tax dollars help support the pro-immigration groups and organizations as well as the funds many get from the Mexican government. We are fighting a giant, but "we the people" can win if we fight smart, put our egos and pride behind us and really fight for our country.

So many people have no idea what is really happening. They have no idea how the anchor baby law and the Family Reunification Program will continue to destroy our nation no matter what kind of immigration plan comes along. Even if we did deport all illegal aliens they would simply produce false documents showing they were a family member of someone here legally! And their governments such as Mexico would help them right along with our Attorney General Alberto Gonzales!

Another idea I have had is to produce a flyer that those of us who want to save America could hand out to people on the street, friends, family and co-workers, etc. The flyer would put the facts on paper with links, etc. proving what our government is up to. It would also include the names and phone numbers of each location's government leaders, county, city, state and lastly federal government. We could mail copies to family and friends across the U.S. and they could make copies and hand out as well. If just 100 people handed out 100 flyers that would educate 10,000 people! You can see the impact this could have if it grew. It's one way to inform the average person on the street who really hasn't been paying attention or who simply does not have all the facts.

Time is of essence. What do you think?

stbmom
I don't live in a border state either and we are having similar problems.
Today, I heard that illegals are protesting funds being cut off to them for their "college education".
I was so outraged. Everyone I know has gone to college on a "pay as you go" basis. You know, go to school, work a job in between to get money for your next semester.
Why are illegals getting college educations paid by taxpayers when our own children don't get this?
What kind of madness is this? I don't even know what country I'm living in anymore. Is it American, Mexico, euro-America?

stbmom
I wonder if those fancy prep schools that our rich politicians send THEIR kids too, Dims more than Repubs BTW, have an illegal alien problem in THEIR schools?

(end sarcasm)

It's getting so bad it is almost unreal
I can't believe how bad the illegal situation has gotten in this country. I teach a class that has a lot of paramedics in it, I could hardly believe what they told me yesterday. Due to the crushing demand of the illegals on our hospital system (from not paying bills, to THEIR "other" illegal activities leading to gunshot wounds on stabbings) local hospitals have fallen under the pressure. We now have just 1 level one trauma unit to cover 20 counties. They also told me that without fail in one of our local cities, if their is a stabbing or a shooting the victim and criminal were always illegals - being cartered off to the hospital in an ambulance that the tax payers will have to pay for.
They also informed us that all of their 911 calls for women in labor were illegal's. They went so far as to say "do not call 911 anymore". The reason, they are so backed up with calls from illegals (using it as their own private taxi service to the hospital) that their arrival times are now terrible. You now have a much better chance of getting to the hospital faster driving yourself.
Another student has a friend that is a teacher, of his 90 math students, 30 this year could not speak English. When he went to the principal he was told they were trying to higher more interpreters, but he would have to just get by in the meantime. So, funding that could be going to something that was advancing education is being used highering interpreters for almost every classroom in every school.
The big surprise - I live in the south. Not CA, not TX - not a border state at all. I honestly believe the number of illegals has to be closer to 30 - 50 million. There is no way they could be populating almost every state the way that they are and only be 12 million. The additional criminal element that seems to be following them also seems to be targeting smaller and smaller towns (with smaller police forces) and creating small crime havens.
This entire thing is getting scary. We are NOT getting Mexico's best and brigest - we are getting their very worst.

The Soviet Union had a Constitution

.....Amadei...

.....It wasn't worth the paper it was written on ...we are not there yet but the politicians and the judges have been side stepping and ignoring the Constitution for so long that we are getting close ...

.....the ACLU and the Democrats cherry pick the Constitution to lead us into slavery (Socialism) .....COLOSSUS

Secondly,
Does anyone believe we still have a Constitution?

Gunner,
"ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND HOMELAND SECURITY ISSUES
Provisions of the U.S. Code that are NOT being enforced by the Federal Government, i.e., by the President and the U.S. Congress"

What does anyone want to say about our government which is not enforcing the law?
If I recall, I believe it is government for the people, by the people.......

So, what is wrong with this picture?

Haven't we seen this before?
Hey, Flavius! While you fight with your legion buddies in far-flung corners of the Empire, Caecilius Metellus will backfill your job with barbarian slave labor. When you return, with shield and sword in hand, try to compete for the work that feeds your family.
Oh wait! I'm having a flashback to my prior life as Publius Vergilius. I guess that history does repeat itself.

Section 1644, same title states,

Our security base is on fire---
I'm living in a high-rise hotel, maybe 100 stories in heigth. My suite is on the 12th floor. Somewhere at about the 70th floor there's a fire and no one is doing anything about it. Am I concerned?---Not really--I don't feel threatened---surely before long, someone will try to control the fire before it gets to me.

But then, there is also another fire bigger than
the one on the 70th foor---I think "they" said it
was on the 85th floor, but it has been burning longer and more distruction involved. Also there
are a couple of other fires I've heard about---but, again, I don't feel threatened because even
though I'm vaguely aware there's a problem---it
isn't "mine". I'm still comfortable and have
not been inconvenienced by all the hulabalew.

I think I noticed acouple of garden hoses running up the side of the hotel---so maybe somebodys got a "handle" on things---Maybe.
trying to do something---maybe.

Who are we trying to fool?---The neighbors??
Not hardly---we're trying to fool ourselves!!
Welll--it AIN'T working. Period.

1. The War in Iraq
2. The border (immigration and Drugs)
3. The muslims (one billion--plus)
4. The chinese (0ut sourceing etc)
5. The militant gays (endoctrination of school
children)
These are all "threats" to our nation and the
liberties we have enjoyed for so many years.

With great reluctance and sorrow, I have to join
with others who entertain the idea that we are
past the "point of no return". There's just too
many "fires" and very little desire (apathy) to
do, or be able to do, anything to combat "them".
Sad?---yes, beyond words. Is there any HOPE at all?----good question---

This is the way I look at it----I grew up in a
conservitive environment and with a Mother who
feared God----please stay with me, OK?

In my own life-time I have observed and recognized some of the prophecies from scripture
that I heard talked about when I was a child.
An individual doesn't need to be a bible-student
inorder to have a "working" knowledge of God's
word.
What we are experiencing here in America, and the
world for that matter, is the fulfillment of the
words of Jesus found in the four Gospels.
I realize that there is an (over-kill) of differience of opinon when people refer to the
Bible. However, let it be said, that everyone
without exception, has the right, the liberty and
the pursuit of happiness--(for good measure) and
also the RESPONSIBILITY to read and believe for
HIMSELF. Period. Think abouit it---

Today I heard that Arnold
of California is going to give health care to all children, including illegals. Just imagine how California is going to go down under this burden.

We have our little Mexico here in my state also, and we are no where near the border. The scene one of the posters painted of broken windows, men on the street, women and children everywhere exists in a town here just about 5 miles from where I live. We call it Little Mexico. Some infamous gang members live there also causing the crime rate to soar and the sheriff is read to blow his brains out over it.

Another poster spoke of going to a park overrun with illegals. I had a similar experience. One day I was there surrounded by illegals, no other whitey but me and my german shepherd. Loud music blasted throughout the otherwise scenic, peaceful, park which is a reason I go there. I also was met with glares by the illegal Mexicans as if I had no right to be in a park I have been funding and going to for 25 years.

A few blocks from my house, a house was bought by what looked like several Mexican families who left a gun on the back of their truck when they retired for the night. Never mind there are many children in the neighborhood running around.

In front of this "house", young male Mexicans stand outside at all hours of the day with cell phones, calling and taking calls all day and night. Now, what do you suppose is going on?
You don't have to be an idiot to figure it out.
The house constantly has so many vehicles there that no one can get around them at times. No women ever seem to be at this particular house.

Litter, you got it, as much as you're willing to take.

Anchor baby law
This law was established to provide slaves with citizenship. That's it, nothing more. Because they were taken from their home country they obviously did not have the rights of citizenship therefore the law was created to provide a home country and citizenship. When slavery ended, the law was no longer needed. It has been abused just like so many other laws and so-called constitutional rights.

Anchor baby Law
I did some research on this a while back and I never could find any law that supports the concept of anchor babies. The current urban myth is that the Supreme Court has ruled on it. This is not true. The controlling Supreme Court case is U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898). In this case the parents of the petitioner were LEGAL aliens, thus under the cotrol of the US Gov.

The only pols in DC with "convictions"
are unfortunately serving jailtime. They don't "represent" the American People; they represent whichever Corporations or Special interests paid for their election. Our government has become a welfare state and Corporate extortion racket for mostly lawyer-Representatives and lawyer-Senators that are sick and tired of representing the latest psychocriminal who just slit his Mother's throat.
It's much more easier to just run for office and have a nice cozy retirement for life again on the taxpayers' dole. Cynthia McKinney was just such a government welfare queen lawyer; she served 12 years and therefore qualifies to retire comfortably on the taxpayers' dole.
Do lawyers with their heads up their @ss in DC give a flying rat's @ss about our border? No, that's not who is buttering their bread. They're just looking for their next handout, their next free family vacation "fact-finding junket" paid for by Corporate America and the taxpayer.

drewrush
Yes, at the core of the issue is the libidiots.

Consider this
Unless our government ends the Bush Family Reunification Program and the anchor baby law is found to be illegal as it should be, no guest worker program or amnesty will make any difference. Because with the Family plan, all the rest of Mexico will end up here in the U.S. and any female who spreads her legs and stays in America long enough illegally to give birth will have a free ticket to stay!

These issues must be addressed before any amnesty plan can be presented. Our government is hoping we are too lazy and stupid to care. They're counting on it!

FAIR has reported that the Senate is now working on a bill that is far worse than the one they presented in 2006. It apparently allows for just about anyone to stay and become citizens almost automatically. We better do something soon or it will be too late! We must demand all illegal aliens be deported. That's the only real fair and honest thing to do. It's fair to the American citizens that have had to watch their country be invaded, watch Americans suffer crime at the hands of illegal aliens and it's fair to those who have honored our laws and Constitution and have entered the legal way. It's honest because it follows the rule of law that is in place to protect America and her citizens. Anything less is an open door to trouble, unconstitutional and illegal.

Work Cut Out
You have your work cut out for you Mr. Jackson!

Immigration debate gets religious
http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20070108-125514-4201r.htm

What these Christians fail to acknowledge is that in the days of the Bible Israel did not have laws against illegal immigration. Israel was taught to be kind to the stranger or alien who came to their nation. These people did not come to take over. They did not come to suck the government dry expecting everything be provided for them, they did not come demanding their language be spoken, they did not come to demand rights they were not entitled to. If they did, they would have been driven out or worse, killed. When a nation fails to use common sense and stay in control of their safety and sovereignty and uphold the laws of the land that were in place to protect them, bad things happen. Israel turned from God and did not follow His commands therefore they were cursed and taken over by the "stranger" in their land. God makes it very clear this is a curse. So why would He say to be kind to the stranger? It's pretty obvious that God intended that those who came into Israel legally and followed the laws of the land, worked and became part of the nation and society should be treated kindly. Don't mock God! Don't try to make a fool of Him as there will be a price to pay! To think God meant for a nation to allow millions of people to enter illegally and behave as the illegals in America do is simply ludicrous!

Read Deuteronomy 28:43-45 The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you and you shall come down lower and lower. He shall lend to you and you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head and you shall be the tail. Moreover, all these CURSES shall come upon you and shall pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord you God....

What do you think? Is America being invaded? Is this a curse? You can't pick and choose verses in the Bible to serve only your cause. You have to take everything in context and then it speaks for itself. Of course God did not intend for nations to self-destruct for being kind to the "stranger" in their mist. That's an insult to God!

STOP the illegal aliens!
Enough is enough! I live in California, and I'm tired of my hard earned tax dollars going to pay for illegal aliens and their kids to go to college, get free healthcare & scholarships, go to school and get welfare.

It is wrong. It is a slap in the face to every immigrant who came here legally. These people have had to study, work hard and took time to learn the language.

ER's in California are overcrowded. Schools in California are overcrowded. The gov't needs to make this top priority. It's a sad day in America when kids born here can't get scholarships to state university's when illegal aliens can.

Don't agree with Mr. Jackson
I don't agree that immigration caused republican personnel to lose in the manner stated by Mr. Jackson. The only thing I have seen or heard reflecting this has come from MSM and some internet pundits. I haven't seen any hard poll numbers or anything else.

Immmigration The Gorilla
This was good a article which more people need to speak out about this problem. The new Demoncratic Congress need to tackle this head on.It is really a crime for them to have been able to cross the borders in the first place illegally. Because of some greedy americans. They need to also learn how to speak English. The two border patrol agents need to be pardoned.Thank you Harry Jackson for keeping us informed.

(Illegasl) Immigration-the 800lb gorilla
Many people mistakenly believe that the "immigration: issue is complex, and that is why we seem to be stymied. They are wrong. In fact, it is really quite simple: We accept legal immigrants, and reject those who sneak into our country, i.e., trespassers. Every nation does this. What's the problem?
We know that people want better lives, and we understand that. But so what? Does being a human being who wants a better life entitle anyone to come here without our invitation? No! If you think it does, congratulations: You just qualified six billion people to come here just so you can feel "enlightened" and "evolved" for 10 minutes. You liberals know who I'am talking about.
Then there are the greedy, unprincipled employers and their best pal-Bush. Don't any of these morons care about the destiny of their country? Apparantly not.
The solution: Send the illegals home. Set up an actual guest (temporary) worker program. It would be for men only, Mexicans only, and for agriculture only. The growers get their labor, and the rest of us get to keep our country. Works for me.

Excellent article
This article really expressed my beliefs and the facts regarding illegal immigration. I would like to note that Mexico is highly intolerant of illegal aliens.

With organizations like Casa de Maryland these illegals will become arrogant and demand their "rights." I propose that we actually start a balanced enforcement program. Go after the illegals and deport them with emphasis on the illegal alien criminals. Use all legal sanctions available to punish the employers that provide the jobs and thus the incentives for the illegals to come to this country. Cut off all feeral aid to states and municipalities that encourage illegal immigration.

Here in Maryland the new governor, Martin O'Malley, has embraced the illegals through his surrogate Gustavo Torres of Casa de Maryland. It is likely that Maryland will be providing funds for the day labor centers that will be providing jobs for hispancic illegals only.

More and more we see our own political leaders breaking the law, helping those that break the law, or refusing to enforce the law. People may see the situation as one requiring personal attention.

HOLA AMIGOS
Another thing they do in Mexico is throw trash in their rivers & streams. Their sanitation policies are the reason Mexico has so little water that is safe to drink.
Take a look at the rivers & creaks in areas where Illegals have settled.

I don't think a march would make any impression.
What would make an impression though is where, how & when you met to assemble marchers.
Now if you met at the right location in a "Sanctuary City", DURING MORNING COMMUTE HOURS, in a location that would cause maximum traffic problems and took up all the parking space in a key business location, I think the march might draw some attention.

Amnesty is hail mary for Social Security
Come on people lets be honest here. All politicians know that Social Security is in dire straits. George Bush tried to convince the electorate that a small percentage could be privatized by Americans without loss, this was re-soundly slapped down by the U.S. Congress.

But the problem with S/S is still here being compounded daily. The piper is eventually going to have to be paid, but the main issue is that there isn't enough rats to keep funding S/S.

Oh, where or where, do we find more rats to fill the holes in the S/S dike and keep spending like drunken sailors. "M E X I C O." Ahh Chihuahua the place is full of willing and eager participants who will be promised the world, but are only a fiscal band-aid to an ailing system that is on life support. But who cares that is some other administration's problem isn't it, but by the time we have to pay up, Canada, U.S., and Mexico will already have formed the North American Union and we all will be one huge humongous socialist state just like the Europeans.

Why do you think France almost burned to the ground last year, because all those immigrants who were invited in to save France's Social net started complaining to Jacques, "Hey Jacques were is all that money you promised us if we came to France and worked for peanuts."

The U.S. political elite in this country have had a hard-on for time immortal to be just like the neighbors across the pond because they act so suave and sophisticated, and they seem to know everything.
Our government is turning us into North American Union Trash and we just keep blindly stumbling along, like the blind leading the blind because we just can't seem to pull ourselves away from the boob tube long enough to write our elected Representative.
So don't act so surprised when the former U.S. joins the North American Union and you are required to speak Mexican because it is the predominate language. Hasta Laguna baby.

The fix is in
Bush, Democrats and Republican Senators have already agreed to surrender to the Hispanics. 60 million Hispanics who did it the right way: worked hard in their own countries, obeyed the law, applied to come here legally already looked in the mirror and told themselves how stupid they were for doing the right thing. You can hear the ground shake as they march toward our border.

Terrymac:
I am like pj, a little brown. Actually I am a black man, and eligible for all the benefits due one of my ethnic persuasion. I qualify for the protection bestowed on me by hate crimes legislation. I can ride in the front of the bus. I get points when applying for acceptance to universities.

I can say anything I want to about white people without being labeled a racist, because as a black person I do not have the power whites do. At least that is what I have been told. Therefore, I'm no racist. Hey, you can't beat that deal with a hammer.

I enjoy the privilege of being an American citizen. I live well, so do my children and grandchildren. I like that. I want it to continue.

Illegal immigration threatens everything Americans have worked so hard to achieve. I noticed in your post that you never once mentioned the effect on Social Security, health care, or American national sovereignty by this invasion of millions from South of the borders.

It was revealing that you mentioned the "anti- brown" crusade. As far as I'm concerned being brown has nothing to do with it. Being in this country illegally is the issue. Bankrupting hospitals is the issue. Tax evasion and identity theft is the issue. America's national sovreignty is the issue. Do none of these things matter to you?

You sound as though you favor just legalizing everybody here illegally (except criminals), and somehow winning these newcomers into the American way of life. How long do you think that might take? What happens to this country while your process takes place? Do you really believe that all of the opposition to illegal immigrants is based on their color?

If you do, I think that you are wrong, and it does not help your argument to call everybody who wants to secure the borders racists.

path to citizenship
we already have a path to citizenship, it starts with a visa in the home country. Illegal aliens ignore our borders and laws, and then march in our streets demanding their "rights". Rights come with responsibilities, the first of which is, if you want to join our citizenry, comply with our laws. They should be marching in the streets of their own countries, demanding change so they don't have to flee their countries. If the countries whose flags were flying during the marches are so great, why are you here? If you want to be an American, please apply BEFORE entering. If you are already here illegally, please exit and apply before re-entering. If we back down in the face of these demands by foreign nationals, we will besmirch the sacrifices of all those who came before to make this country great. America is the last stand for western civilization, Europe is already gone, they just don't know it yet. I for one, do not want to live in a third world country, we will be if amnesty passes. West Virginia is the only place left that has not been over run by illegal aliens. THERE CAN BE NO HOMELAND SECURITY WITHOUT BORDER SECURITY.

I Feel Your Pain
jameseastbay, Your story was indeed chilling and a visual that needs to be captured and told. The bad news is that California has been at this game longer than the rest of the country and so the despoiling that you describe is only one of a more advanced stage than the rest of the country.

Here in North Carolina, I tried to take my 2 year old son to the playground this past weekend on an abnormally warm January day. The park with the playground near my home has 3 soccer fields and all of them were filled with illegals with no gringo in sight. The Playground next to the fields was filled with their ever copious offspring to the point that it was basically impossible for my son to use any of the equipment. I gave up after about 5 minutes and took my crying son home. I tried to make it work but the hostile glares and sheer mass of miniature humanity was too much to bear.

12 million is a ridiculously low estimate of illegals in this country especially when you throw in their prodigiously produced rugrats that have falsely been given legal citizen status. I guess we will find out the real number after Jorge Bush & Company grant amnesty and they start piling out of the rafters to sign the paperwork that grants them absolution and legal residence on their "path to citizenship".

So anyway, if you are looking to leave California, choose your new locale carefully because chances are they will be coming there soon after your arrival as well.

sold out
We're being sold out by the media (with the notable exception of Lou Dobbs), both political parties, big business and organized labor. Each of them see some benefit to themselves of another amnesty. They seem not to care at all that it will be disastrous for the country. Unless the citizens really start to rattle the cages up on Capitol Hill, it will not be our country much longer. Amnesty is surrender of our sovereignty and abandonment of the rule of law. The 14th ammendment was never supposed to apply to ILLEGAL (against the law) ALIENS (foreign nationals, not citizens). It is astounding to me that people are not reacting to this proposed amnesty more vociferously, particularly since the totalization treaty with mexico has come to light. Social Security for working ILLEGALLY???????????????????????????

James:
Are you some kind of bigot? I think you need cultural sensativity training.

Look, if someone wants to spraypaint the outside walls of your home, they are just trying to beautify it by their standards. You should welcome this since it is, after all, art. If you cannot appreciate it for what it is, you are not open minded.

As for parts of California looking like foreign countries, well, what's wrong with that? It used to be you needed a passport to experience the art, architecture, language, food, and values of other nations. Now, all you need to do is end up on the wrong side of town. Or is it the wrong side of town? You've been saved the trouble of going through airport security to travel to Mexico... it's all there, whenever you want it. So grab a burrito, don't ask what kind of meat it is, sit down, and shush!

And as for the language, who are we to tell people what to speak? English is difficult to learn, Spanish is much easier. If you aren't willing to learn it, you are a nativist racist xenophobic bigot.

Jorge Boosh is the greatest president ever! Viva Boosh!

Time for a March ourselves
After writing my congressmen several times, watching the MSM illegal immigrant lovers and listening to Bush, I am convinced that Congress will pass an amnesty bill with all kinds of benefits for our "new citizens". The only thing that will work, people, is for us, yes us CITIZENS, to get out and march just like the illegals did last year. We have to fill the streets, carry the American flag, and demand that our elected officials fulfill their constitutional responsibilities. If the illegals can organize, so can we. I'm ready. Somebody, please, pick up the torch!!!!

oops!
meant to say I couldn't have responded BETTER to those uneducated comments...

I knocked on a door in Farmer's Branch yesterday asking people where they were on the illegal invasion issue (you've probably heard the ruckus)..anyway..this little old man, unlocked his door, of his house, with his big 8 foot high fence and said, NO! He's not for apt. managers finding out if illegals ARE illegals, because they're all God's children.' That to me is the most discouraging aspect of this whole issue. That there can be such raging perversion of Truth and Justice and The American Way. I told him until he opens his doors and takes down his fence and lets any of 'God's children' into his house...no matter what (as long as they make the bed!) then he's a hypocrit. He told me to 'get off his property immediately.' I guess he no longer saw me as one of God's children.

PJ...
I couldn't have responded to those idiot and uneducated comments myself...but I will criticize your last 'protest' of not being racist...I am SICK TO DEATH of every talk show host and everyone else having to justify common sense viewpoints without even having to resort to that caviat. It's like everytime you tell you child 'no'...having to say...'but I'm not a child hater.' GEEEEZ. Everytime anyone goes there, it does nothing but give energy and air to a nothing nothing nothing...argument. PLEASE...don't even go there.

AND EVERYONE..PLEASE JOIN http://WWW.NUMBERSUSA.COM

I really believe it's a class issue.
The other day I went down to the Central Valley to visit a relative. I was going north back to the Bay Area on highway 5 but I went to far north and landed in Stockton, not sure what area of Stockton but I might have landed in some third world hell. I get off the exit and the only thing I could see were buildings covered in gang graffitti, litter everywhere broken windows, street signs vandalized and literally hundreds of men standing on the sidewalks, glaring at me at the traffic signal. If they weren't men standing around doing nothing there were dozens of pregnant women walking around with strollers with three children in tow. No signs were in English, it was if I had landed in a foreign country. I made a Uturn and got the hell out. I mentioned to my father " here's all that rich cultural diversity that rich white liberals are so in love with".

Is this what the liberals want the entire country to be?? Over and over everytime I hear someone emplore the rest of us about all that "beautiful diversity" "multi culturalism" " they just want a better life for themselves"
and all the other pithy bromides I find they seem to live in very wealthy all white neighborhoods. I really would like to see how liberal, openminded and accepting they would be if a family of 12 with 5 boarders and 9 cars moved next door to them and completely trashed the house and now they have to pick up garbage and bottles off their lawn. It's easy to be liberal when none of the social problems are on your doorstep. In my hometown I am seeing the social problems little by little creeping up. Gangs which we never had are being mentioned in the papers. I want to get out of California so bad I can taste it.

Jailed Border Patrolmen
The border patrolmen that shot the drug dealer should be released from prison, given the freedom medal and awarded a huge bonus from the government whose lands they are protecting. The drug dealer should be put in jail and made to PAY for all of the resources he utilized. Too bad the guards were such poor shots - this guy sounds like he needs to be dead.

Dear terrymac
While your idea sounds reasonable ("If practically all immigrants (except for known criminals) were legal, then it would be impossible for employers to exploit them"), you could not be more wrong. If/When the invading illegals are 'legalized' and their employers must both increase their wages as well as pay the various taxes on those wages, the employers will simply bypass these new 'legal workers' and hire lower-cost illegals who will continue to pour - like a tsunami - across the borders. We will have ever-increasing migration to try to profit, not only from the wages, but most particularly from the tax-payer-crippling social services.

And please stop bashing those of us who are staunchly opposed to rewarding illegal behavior - we are not anti-immigrants but anti-ILLEGAL-alien.

You claim that "Anti-immigrants are already losing elections." You again are wrong. Those folks like JD Hayworth were outflanked by a Demoncrat opponent who made even stronger 'anti-illegal-alien' claims but who didn't have the anti-Iraq-war baggage to carry.

"Let's get back to basics: anyone who is willing to work in America for a living should be free to do so." Truly insane notion. We'd have the better part of the WORLD here. We don't build walls to keep people IN - but we'd sure as Hades better build one to keep people OUT!

And before you decide that I'm a 'racist' (the usual last stand of pro-illegal aliens) you should probably know that I'm rather "brown" myself.

nah
"Let's get back to basics: anyone who is willing to work in America for a living should be free to do so."

that's just plain wrong. markets can only bear so much labor. and it is the populace of a country that should set that mark.

grammar
i screwed up that last paragraph badly:

they are a stain on the hard efforts of my mother and her family, most of which (meaning, most of her family) came here legally (meaning 100 % of those that did come here are here legally), and one of which fought in afghanistan.

sorry for the confusion.

Gunny G
"The funny thing is, is that bona-fide Hispanic-Americans are pizzed off at the illegals as the rest of us are."

yes, and my mother, born yolanda morales, now yolanda rushford, is pretty p'od that people think you can come here and demand people learn your language. we had a conversation just this past weekend about it, actually. she just doesn't understand how someone could reasonably go to another country and no want to learn the language.

here's how: liberals saying that the country should bend to the individual, instead of the individual bending to the pre-existing culture. it's these same liberals who deny that any american culture does or should exist. well, i just hope that the new illegals continue not learning english, because that's how they'll keep themselves at the bottom rung until we toss them out.

they are a stain on the hard efforts of my mother and her family, most of which has come to this country legally, and one of which fought in afghanistan.

loco
I'd be willing to pay more for lettuce if we could boot the illegals out. Want to immigrate to The Land of the Round Door Knob?

SHOW that you have something to offer US!

jcdean1978...great post.

800lb. gorilla is loss of liberty
Pointing to immigration is only a symptom of a much more serious problem - we no longer desire liberty or the fundamental principle upon which liberty is based: private property.

"Peaceful cooperation or opportunistic invasion"

Income redistribution and the vain pursuit of economic equality always lead to lower standards of living and inefficiency of production.

Once again, the culprit is socialist policy, not the immigrant.

The 'legalizing' of the immigrants in question would not, of itself, negatively impact economic activity. It is the additional societal burden of income redistribution in the form of entitlements that wreak economic havoc.

In a free society and a free market, immigrants are free to fail or succeed just as any other individual. Productive immigrants will contribute and prosper economically. Unsuccessful immigrants would not be a burden on the economy or society because they would either return home or receive charity.

We cannot blame the poor immigrant for economic woes, only the failure of socialist policy. The poor immigrant is only taking advantage of those policies to fulfill....
quote:
"THE FATAL TENDENCY OF MANKIND"
Self-preservation and self-development are common aspirations among all people. And if everyone enjoyed the unrestricted use of his faculties and the free disposition of the fruits of his labor, social progress would be ceaseless, uninterrupted, and unfailing.

But there is also another tendency that is common among people. When they can, they wish to live and prosper at the expense of others. This is no rash accusation. Nor does it come from a gloomy and uncharitable spirit. The annals of history bear witness to the truth of it: the incessant wars, mass migrations, religious persecutions, universal slavery, dishonesty in commerce, and monopolies. This fatal desire has its origin in the very nature of man — in that primitive, universal, and insuppressible instinct that impels him to satisfy his desires with the least possible pain.
Fredric Bastiat

The solution to the immigration policy, then, is restoring control of the product of ones labor to the individual - PRIVATE PROPERTY.

The failure of liberty and private property today is easy to discern by asking one simple question: "Do you own the product of your labor?"

An immigrant is no threat to the economy if each individual owns the product of their labor.

legalize immigration - and control crime
Many of the problems with immigration are due to the artificial division into "legal" and "illegal." If practically all immigrants ( except for known criminals ) were legal, then it would be impossible for employers to exploit them - they'd go to work for better employers, just as the rest of us do. Reforming immigration law would put unscrupulous employers out of business. Conservatives are famous for castigating liberals who reward good intentions over good results, but when it comes to immigration policy, anti-immigrants are all about good intentions and d*** the terrible results.

Anti-immigrants are already losing elections. Let's get back to basics: anyone who is willing to work in America for a living should be free to do so. Let's get serious about implementing welfare cuts, instead of moaning about immigrants on welfare. Let's show the Hispanic voter why a nation based upon responsibility, self-reliance, and respect for individual rights is better than that liberal claptrap about "social justice" and "social welfare."

Let's continue our focus on self-defense and individual retirement accounts and free-market schooling other avenues to greater personal responsibility and greater freedom, and ditch this toxic anti-brown crusade.

Both Parties Culpable

.....Mr. Jackson...

.....Democrats see illegals as victims and thus voters ...Republicans see illegals as cheap labor ...neither Party is thinking of what is best for the country ...

....true conservatives support "legal" immigration but the catch-22 is how do illegals become legal? ...

.....I fear that we no longer have a government for the people ...of the people ...and by the people ...our government has been taken over by the politicians who are supposed to be our servants ...our servants have become our masters and short of an aroused and aware voter revolution ...the future of our country looks pretty bleak ..... COLOSSUS

My fix
1. Deport all illegals.
2. Allow employeers to check legal status of workers before hirring (illegal to do now)
3. Prosecute those who hire illegals.
4. Prosecute those who house illegals.
5. Deny all governemt services to illegals (School, medical, food, etc...)
6. Deny children born in the US by illegals to be citizens. (New years day baby was an illegal.)
7. All legals MUST learn English

After all of the above is enacted and enforced then...

1. Look at a guest worker program that allows people to come and work from all over the globe.
2. Look at our current immigration limits and look for improvments.
3. All possible immigrants/guest workers must learn and pass a test on English, US History, and our founding prinipals. They must agree to become a part of our melting pot if they plan to stay.
4. All possible immigrants must be able to offer some skills that they can provide to our society.
5. Enact a nation ID card system. Those of us who wish to drive get it upgraded to a drivers license at the DMV. Perhaps it could also work as a passport.
6. Require ID card to vote.

These points would make things fair for all, secure the boarders without a fence, and end the problem virtually overnight. Both sides win and our country is more secure. However with both parties acting like Children and screaming bloody murder at the other, an honest debate and discussion on this issue will never come to pass and these points listed above will never see the light of day.

Border Guards
Can anyone help me with the background info on the border gurds getting prison time. I have missed this entirely! thanks...

I Lived In The Barrio
My family homestead was in a large urban area in a neighborhood heavily populated by illegals. I knew many and spent quite a few Saturday nights sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck (uninsured, of course), drinking tequila and watching them shoot their pistolas into the air. No matter where the bullet falls. No matter that a falling spent bullet can be (and was) as fatal as one just shot. I know the number of accidents, DUI's, DUI accidents and DUI fatalities caused by illegals. I also know the shrug you will get if you tell an illegal he is the cause of a fatality. I know the majority of illegals purchase a firearm almost as soon as they get a paycheck. I think about 12 Million armed illegals that have invaded my country. Eventually I lost my construction job to one of these illegals. It was an after retirement job but it was beer money. I said, "phuck-it" and moved to where there were no illegals. I lost my job. It surely was not a job, "No American would take..." But there were a lot of jobs Americans were doing that Americans are no longer doing. In my time in construction work I saw illegals take from Americans jobs in

Drywall;
Brickmasonry;
Roofing;
Concrete;
Landscape;
Painting;

These trades are almost totally dominated by illegals now. They were not when I started in construction but they are now. The only reason they have not taken over Plumbing, Electrical and Heating & Air is because of the license involved.
A sad part of this story is this. The illegals came here, lived 6 or 8 to an apartment, lied on W-2's, paid no taxes, paid no insurance and worked for enough less than the American family man who had mortgage payments, car payments, insurance payments and schooling and clothing for his family that they stole his job. And the sad part is today they are getting as much or more than the American was getting when they stole his job.

Just a thought:
Read the link I posted. Our National Guard men were armed with M-16's. I'd be willing to bet they had no ammo though. They have the weapon, they just can't use it. It's all for show to placate the masses. Until we stand, as one, and demand our rights it will only get worse.

Pathetic
When our men in uniform have to run from armed thugs on the border, we just look pathetic. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/0106border-incident0106USE.html
All that tells the drug runners and smugglers is that we'll run from you and enable your activities if you're armed.

AZ Republic has a story, in todays issue, about a Justice dept study: "The findings by Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine are based on a sampling of 100 undocumented immigrants arrested by local and state authorities in 2004, the latest complete data available. They show that 73 of the 100 immigrants were arrested, collectively, 429 times - ranging from traffic tickets to weapons and drug charges." http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0108CriminalImmigrants08-ON.html
When are Americans going to collectively stand up and say we just wont take it any more? What happened to our rights?

We are a soverign nature
we have the right and responsibility to seal our borders so as to know who is coming and going. It seems so simple to me. I wonder, how long we can sustain sigificant numbers of udereducated lower class immigrants? The costs in health, welfare and criminal activity far surpass the savings in low wages for farmers and corporations. The "save the corporations and farmers" mentality needs to be rethought. I know that if we close the borders costs will go up for wages passed on to the public. Fine!!! Then we will employ legal Americans and the order and safety that means.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS?
Border Patrol is 'guarding' the border.
National Guard troops have been sent to help.
They are attacked by drug runners.
Minutemen are volunteering to 'guard' the Guard troops. Backed by their own weapons and ammo. The Guard, of course, are NOT ARMED.

GW I'm afraid that
you are completely correct when you say Bush wants to destroy America as we know it. The man is obsessed with turning America into Mexico.

Why do these politicians want this? Don't these Anglo (black and white) American politicians realize that when the Mexicans gain control of the country they will be voting for people named Juan and Jose, not Barack and George? Look at the illegal's attitude now, telling Americans to go back to Europe and calling Whites Nazis, Can you imagine what it will be like when they own us?

George Bush is going down in history as the insane president who destroyed America. The man is completely insane and I voted for the creep TWICE. I may never vote again I'm so mistrustful of our government. They're all whack jobs.

GPS Marketing Plan
I have an idea that would allow the Mexican government to totally offset the cost of the GPS devices that they will soon provide to their reconquistas. Why not sell the rights to have the GPS devices preprogrammed with all the locations to Pizza Patron (the pizza chain now accepting pesos). Think about it... after a long day of crossing the Rio Grande, all the illegal has to do is follow the Spanish voice provided directions to his nearest Pizza Patron location. No inconvenient stop to exchange Pesos, no time wasted aimlessly wandering around for nourishment and refreshment after a hard day crossing the border!

This could of course be expanded to other businesses catering to illegals. Fraudulent Document Providers could have their locations pre-programmed for a fee...Wal-Mart could get in on the act and have their stores preprogrammed...employers seeking illegal labor could have their addresses listed as well.

What do you all think? Is this a great business idea or what?!?

Mr. Jackson is correct
Our immigrant families came to this country via a legal process and had a place to go, many as indentured servants, long before they started out on the trip. When they got to the border, they were turned back if they had a cold. They came and called themselves Americans and considered themselves blessed for the opportunity at a good life.
This illegal immigration is a whole other scenario and I too see it and fear for our country. The situation with the border guards and with drug dealer suing us is a sin.

The Invasion
Seems as if we'd better get used to it. The illegals will soon be 'legal', thanks to Open-Borders-Bush and the Demoncrats.
It will be difficult to get a job/promotion without speaking espanol; the USA's dollar will be replaced by the UCA (United Continent of the Americas); our onetime 'nation' will be a bubbling cauldron of multi-ethnics with allegiances all over the world.
The good news is that Bin Laden won't bother to destroy us - our politicians are doing it for him.
Anyway, here's the new pledge - be the first on your block to learn it:

I pledge allegiance
To the Flags
Of the Diverse States of the Americas
And to the Dictatorships
For which they stand
Many Invaders
Bajo Dios
Legalized
With Gringo dollars for all.

IT'S MUCH BIGGER - up to 30-50 million
365X4,000X30=43.8 million.

The Real Immigration Crisis

Virginia Deane Abernethy, Ph.D.
Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006

"In February 2002, a Border Patrol supervisor of 27 years service testified before Congress that the number of illegal aliens was several times the Census Bureau (CB) estimate."

"Time magazine asserted, also in 2004, that more than 4,000 illegal aliens walk across just the Mexico/Arizona border each day."

"Department of Education reports are also suggestive. Comparing projected and actual enrollments for the latest years the data were compiled yields this: The projected K-12 increase in public school enrollments from 2002 to 2003 was 11,000 pupils. But "actual 2003 enrollments came in 339,000 above 2002's level — more than 30 times the projected rise." Where did these children come from, if not illegal immigration?"

There's a fight coming
and it ain't gonna be pretty.

The funny thing is, is that bona-fide Hispanic-Americans are pizzed off at the illegals as the rest of us are.

I'm figuring on a revolution breaking out by 2008 once the gorilla breaks loose of his cage.

"Your M-1 Garand/M1911? Don't leave home without them!"

Just my humble opinion.

The Gorilla Grows Yet Larger
Recent Invasion News:

- Jorge Bush wants to give his soon-to-be legal compadres full Social Security Benefits.

- Babies R Us holds a contest for the first born of 2007 and 2 of the top 3 are born to illegals. Awards the prize to the illegals despite clearly worded contest requirements to the contrary.

- Mexican Government and U.S. University Liberals are preparing to provide GPS devices to assist illegals in their border crossing.

- Pizza Chain in Texas is now accepting Mexican Pesos as payment.

- 2 more police officers killed by illegals.

Yes, 2007 is starting out great. That 800 lb. gorilla should be well in excess of 1000 lbs. before the end of the year.

If we do not do something soon, we will
pay the price with the futures of our children and grandchildren. Our economy will pay hundreds of times over what pittance we save on lettuce and tomatoes for health care and retirement for these illegal. I say Get them out and keep them out! If the democrats want Americans to vote for them again they had better do what the GOP did not do! Get the illegals out, build a big strong fence, and patrol it to keep the illegals from cutting through it.

And now pesos are accepted ......
... in Dallas and 24 other Texas pizza palors as alternate means of payment. The pizza patron restrauant chain, a franchise with additional locations is Colorado, New Mexico and California started accepteing pesos as legal tender.

Your children, my grandchildren will be required to press 'dous' for English.

Illegals must go
ANOTHER DEAD LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER --- KILLED BY HISPANICS

This time in Tennessee. On Saturday night Tennessee State Trooper was shot and killed by 17-year-old Alejandro Guana and 19-year-old Orlando Garcia. It would seem that the two Hispanics were transporting drugs.

The next question is were these two Hispanic thugs in this country legally? Were they illegal aliens? Last week a 14-year veteran law enforcement officer was killed in a head-on accident as he was driving to work. You guessed it .. an illegal alien caused the accident.

Twenty-five Americans a day. That's the estimate of the death toll from the Mexican invasion. About one-half of that number from murders, the other half from traffic accidents.

Still ... our government does NOTHING!

That's going to change soon, though. The Democrats will soon be introducing their amnesty bill .. and George Bush will be all-to-eager to sign it.

GPS devices
are now being given to illegals by Mexico so they can find their way across the border. How's that grab everyone?

Uninformed
Why is it that columnists feel the need to write about things they know absolutely nothing about? And why is it that they spend absolutely no time informing themselves of the facts of the issue before writing?

INS

The INS hasn't existed for years. Get a clue. Then come back and enlighten us with your great wisdom.

Illegal Aliens
Bush does not enforce our Borders because he wants to do away with the Borders. His North American Union is well on it's way as I write. The Trans Texas Corridor the first leg of the Highway to Canada from a port in Mexico is being started right now. This will open North America to goods from China by passing American Ports. That way our longshoremen are cut out of the plan and the cargo won't be inspected.

I have always said that Bush started the Iraq war as a diversion to keep the American people from finding out what he's really up to. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE UNITED STATES AS WE KNOW IT!!!
People call me crazy for saying this and I hope for our sake that I am but I'm afraid that I'm not.

Great article
I plan on calling my rep. and the Whitehouse tommorow.

re;The issue at hand. Americans have always been a live and let live people who don't get worked up about others breaking the law as long as it doesn't directly affect them(as far as they know it). So,just like it took Pearl Harbor to mobilize support for the war against Japanese imperialism and creeping Naziism,it will take an earth shattering event connected to border control to get us riled up enough to demand a change of direction from the current state of affairs with regards immigration.

Unfortunately,a few hospital ERs closing down and border residents being harrassed, raped and murdered(Oh no,you'll never here about that from the liberal advocate media)is not a sufficient crisis to warrant being mean to a bunch of folks who "only want a better life".

Obviously it would take years for all of us to be directly affected by the illegal invasion. And since you will never see the ranting, grieving mother of a victim of "George Bushs' illegal border policy" version of Cindy Sheehan, there is only one thing that will wake us up. Dirty bomb anyone? How about an entire town getting the Beslan treatment?

You think I'm crazy but how sane is it that we are imprisoning border guards for doing their jobs, and the criminals set free in exchange for helping to imprison them are then returned to break more laws in addition to suing us? If I were to look at this case alone,I would say that it is over folks.America is done. She has taken the blade and tore open her guts. The bleed out is all that remains.

The politicians
don't seem to care on either side of the aisle that this 800 lb gorilla is crushing us. A lot of us have already done what you suggest, sign the petition and write/call our representatives. I, for one, have had no response about this issue, as if it doesn't exist. It almost seems hopeless to believe that our politicians are going to do anything about this issue. Furthermore, it almost seems to late now.
We are already overrun with illegals who are working for cheap labor at jobs "Americans had" as opposed to jobs that "Americans don't want to do". See Phyllis Schlafly's article for those who don't believe this.
Politicians and big business are joined at the hip to promote big business and crush the middle class.
Not to mention crushing even further those on the poorer end of the stick.
While there have been more jobs created, lower unemployment, the wages of the jobs that do exist have fallen. Not to mention those who have fallen completely off the radar screen and are no longer reporting to unemployment offices.

It's a good thing we have Walmart because that is about all a lot of people can afford today.
