Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Dear Bob:

I know you are terrified that Wednesday night’s debate will be a repeat of last week’s debate which allowed the candidates to simply respond with talking points. I therefore “know” you have been waiting for my list of questions for Wednesday night’s debate. I have left the economic crisis questions for you as I believe every possible question has already been asked and answered with respect to the candidates’ views on the economy. I also bow to your experience on international issues.

Below is my list. The questions are in no particular order.

The candidates will not be inviting you over for any social events very soon if you ask these questions, but you would be doing a great service to Americans who would like to know what the candidates think and not whether they can successfully couch an answer into a non-answer. My list is one which I would feel comfortable if the candidates saw the questions in advance, but you must insist on the specific crisp answers required. A specific response by a candidate that he is unwilling to answer the question based on the required brief answer is acceptable. A “no answer” would tell Americans a great deal about the candidate. As most of the questions should be responded to with a single word answer or a very crisp reply, you will still have time to cover all subjects in which you have personal interest:

1. Cabinet: Assuming they would be willing to serve, who would you favor to be your Attorney General of the Untied States and Secretary of State? Just the names of individuals who would be able to serve, not legendary deceased politicians, no discussion.

2. Energy: Are there any events that would encourage you to drill in Alaska? If yes, specifically and concisely, what events would cause you to favor drilling?

3. Guns: (a) Do you believe that every American, an adult and not previously convicted of a felony, should be able to own a handgun. (b) Do you believe that these Americans should be able to own a rifle or shotgun? (c) Do you believe that these Americans should be able to own an automatic weapon of any kind? Yes or no to each question.

4. Immigration: Regardless of any other Congressional actions taken to impact immigration, do you approve of and will you guarantee that to the best of your ability, the wall at our southern border will be completed by 2010? Yes or no. Please do not bore the listeners with a discussion of virtual walls. Continued...

re: Question for Obama
Bob: Many American people question your Christian faith, and many more have doubts about your patriotism in light of your association w/ domestic terrorist Ayers. My question to you, and I have a follow-up, is what a patriotic Christian would do the very Sunday right after the 9/11 attack?

Obama: Uh..., Bob, he would go to church to pray for our country, uh... there was no better place to be that day than being at the church w/ your fellow compatriots, and uh... that was where I was that Sunday.

Bob: Now the follow-up, wasn't that the same Sunday when Rev. Wright spewed his anti-American venom? So you were there then, up close and in person. But you've gone on record and denied you'd ever heard Rev. Wright's diatribe in person. Were you not telling American people the truth?

Obama: Uh... uh... on second thought, I might not, no, I definitely wasn't at the church that Sunday.

Bob: So our country just got attacked, and thousands of people just died a horrible death, and you, Senator, a patriot and a devout Christian, decided you got something else better to do that Sunday, like, getting a head start on your Sunday brunch?

Obama: Uh... I couldn't remember what I did that Sunday. Uh... I don't have a good answer either way, do I?

Bob: No, Senator. Either you are a liar when you were indeed there at the church, or you are not that much of a patriot nor a devout Christian when you were not at the church that Sunday.

Obama: Uh... Could it be plausible that I did go to the church that Sunday, so I am good in the departments of patriotism and Christian faith; but I had a temporary hearing loss during Rev. Wright's sermon, so I didn't lie when I said I had never heard him talking bad about America.

Bob: It's plausible, and it's also plausible that I am at a loss for words right now.

let's get a grip...
I understand why you'd want to stock up on your Uzis before a president Obama would make them illegal. but I DON'T understand all this paranoid talk about having to have a gun to protect yourselves.

c'mon, we all know that whichever party wins the white house, it's gonna be the same old same old. if Obama's shown us anything he's shown us that he's a true politician. he will say anything and do anything to get elected. if he wins, he'll play ball with lobbyists and he will listen to the same old gang that helped Clinton and Carter govern.

sure, he'd be more liberal than McCain would (but not by much considering McCain's "conservatism"!) but it's not going to mean the end of the Empire, for gosh sakes.

for all you hate him and try to demonize him, he's not a demon. he's a plain old tax-and-spend liberal. he's not the Antichrist OR the Messiah: he's a equal-opportunity socialist.

we've just got to get past this "market correction" ( = complete financial meltdown) and allow our next president to realy start the American Comeback. so ready for Hillary-Jindal in 2012!
