Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

This week Fred Barnes wrote an article in which he suggests that McCain's best VP choice is Mitt Romney.

Wow!

Mr. Barnes is correct that McCain's VP selection is vital because of McCain's age (71) and because McCain needs to select an authentic conservative with widespread appeal to the GOP base-Evangelical and Catholic Christians, millions of whom have started to gag on the regularly scheduled forced doses of the GOP's shut-up-and-do-as-you're-told concoctions.

Mr. Barnes believes Mitt Romney is exactly the man to get them to swallow yet another bitter dose.

Such a claim could only issue forth from the increasingly bizarre, even surreal, consensus in which the "conservative" elites -- pundits, consultants, lawyers and self-styled "pro-family" power brokers -- swim.

First, Mr. Barnes writes that McCain's VP should be acceptable to conservatives-especially social conservatives. Perhaps Mr. Barnes does not quite understand how right he is on this. It has long been apparent that among the conservative elites "pro-life" is merely a uniform that one puts on like a free agent ballplayer joining a team in search of a championship.

"You're now ‘pro-life,’ Mr. Romney?  Why should we believe that?"

"Because I said so, and that ought to be proof enough. And only a fool would turn away a convert to the pro-life cause."

"Maybe so, Slick, and maybe not. But the question remains, why should we believe that?"

"Well, after my conversion to the pro-life side, with every bill that came across my desk I came down on the side of life."

"Hmmm. Well, does that include your massive government health care plan with which you delighted Ted Kennedy by establishing taxpayer-funded abortion on demand at fifty dollars a pop?"

"I thought Jay Sekulow, James Bopp, Gary Bauer, Tony Perkins, Tom Minnery, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham and the kids running the National Review had taken care of all that for me."

Mr. Barnes, like most of the chattering "conservative elites," has missed the glaring lesson of a Republican presidential primary in which millions of social conservative and constitutionalist voters just said no to all the RINOs the party nomenklatura stubbornly forced on them, preferring to pick from among the diverse options of Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo, and Duncan Hunter. Does Barnes not grasp how much intellectual credibility and moral gravitas the "conservative" mandarins have squandered -- outside the beltway and away from the studio lights of Fox News?

McCain must select a running mate who is a credible opponent of abortion and who sees where we are being taken with the endless progression of political and constitutional concessions being made to appease the militant strategists of the obscenely overfunded global sodomy revolution. Behind the relentless waves of propaganda from the "conservative" political elites, the actual record of Willard Mitt Romney's record is that of a man who is best described as the GOP's Barak Obama.

Not only does the new, improved "pro-life" Willard Mitt Romney oppose a Federal Human Life Amendment, but as I've noted in numerous exposes  here at townhall.com , he handed the abortion industry what no Democrat has by establishing abortion on demand with a $50 co-pay (after his stage-managed pro-life "awakening") as a "healthcare benefit". For those who have done the homework and know the Romney that Barnes dutifully (or naively?) whitewashes, it is no shock that his socialist healthcare plan was endorsed not only by Ted Kennedy but also by Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood.

The deeper one looks into the Romney closet the more disturbing the skeletons one finds. Notwithstanding an Orwellian cover-up by "conservative" mercenaries bribed and otherwise recruited to Romney's stable, the former governor also imposed homosexual "marriage" as governor in brazen violation of multiple articles of the Massachusetts Constitution, the exclusive authority of the Legislature and the marriage statutes. Lacking a constitutionally required enabling statute, he illegally ordered  justices of the peace to perform homosexual "marriage" ceremonies or resign. In violating his oath to faithfully execute the statues and uphold the state constitution, he fulfilled a secret 2002 campaign promise to the homosexual Log Cabin Republicans.

Moreover, then Governor Romney unconstitutionally forced Catholic Charities, the nation's oldest adoption and foster care agency, to place children with homosexual couples or go out of business (which they eventually were forced to do). As even liberal Democrat former governor Mike Dukakis pointed out, the state law Romney claimed forced him to do this does not even exist! He similarly forced Catholic Hospitals to issue abortafacients, pretending again to be merely executing the law. Again Dukakis caught him lying red-handed.

Romney supports homosexual scout masters and sexual orientation non-discrimination laws that would penalize religious organizations and private businesses for not hiring transsexuals and cross dressers. The list of Obama-esque social policy decisions goes on and on, and is matched by aggressive lying about the law as governor in order to turn the social, moral and constitutional ratchet far to the left, while ruthlessly using Mormonism as a cloak to pass himself off as a reluctant conservative caught in one difficult position after another.  In fact he became a master of creating elaborate smokescreens to cause conservatives to believe that he was fighting the radical policies he was pushing.

Does Mr. Barnes really believe that a Barak Obama in Republican clothing is acceptable to social conservatives? If so he needs to formulate a plan to break himself out of the surreal intellectual ghetto that three decades of hubris and brutally enforced consensus have created among the "conservative" elites. The grassroots increasingly see where we're headed and they’re getting off the train.

Barnes states that Romney would "shore up McCain's weakness on economic issues."  He is correct that many economic conservatives who, despite McCain's recent support for making the Bush Tax Cuts permanent, reducing the corporate tax rate, and government spending, are wary of McCain's  past opposition to the Bush Tax Cuts and support for carbon emissions "cap-and-trade" tax regimes.

But again, Barnes writes from the ghetto. Romney's actual record as governor shouldn’t instill confidence among fiscal conservatives. Romney did not support the Bush Tax Cuts (earning him praise from Massachusetts' neo-Marxist congressman Barney Frank). As governor, Romney increased taxes by $800 million (he cleverly called them "fees") which have truly harmed the Massachusetts economy. Romney's healthcare plan, in the words of the Wall St. Journal, is in "intensive care "with inflated costs that are estimated to double -- a plan he has said would serve as a model for a national plan.

Moreover, the absurd claim that a businessman has experience and expertise that directly applies to reforming by far the largest national economy on earth is not something that grownups ought to take even half-seriously. Romney has built vast personal wealth by cutting workforces, off-shoring jobs and aggressively marketing struggling firms as revitalized in order to sell them off to investors. This is known as short-term micro-economics. It has little if any relevance to macro-economics or long-term health of an economy or an industry -- which is exactly why Romney had to promise Michigan voters to rob taxpayers across America to prop up their dying manufacturing base, a promise that could just as easily have come from Barak Obama. As an "economic conservative" -- as much as a "social conservative"-- Slick Willard Romney is a snake oil salesman.

There is no doubt that McCain must choose an authentic fiscal conservative with a consistent track record of cutting taxes and spending, and implementing free market consumer-driven initiatives. Romney has no such record as governor. What McCain doesn't need is to select is a tax hiker whose signature economic "achievement" was an Orwellian pro-abortion healthcare plan endorsed by the Clinton-Kennedy- Planned Parenthood triumvirate.

Finally, Mr. Barnes argues that Romney has the support of many in the "Bush wing of the Republican Party" including Karl Rove and the Bushes themselves.

Like his friends over at the National Review, Fox News and other such lofty locations in the conservative ghetto, Mr. Barnes seems to have learned nothing at all from the last year. I don't know if he's noticed yet, but there seems to be a significant breakdown in communications between the GOP establishment and grass roots conservatives. Romney spent a king's ransom (100 million dollars, plus bribes and hush money for "conservative" and "pro-family" mercenaries) attempting to convince voters he was the second coming of Ronald Reagan. But many conservative voters rejected the screaming instructions from the self-appointed ghetto leadership, having figured out that Willard Mitt Romney is nothing more than Barak Obama in a Reagan costume. Candidates (McCain and Huckabee) adamantly opposed by the GOP elites, though vastly outspent, won the gold and silver respectively.

Voters have repudiated the "conservative" elites. Romney's support among the Bush nomenklatura is reason enough, all by itself, to reject him.

Vice President
Romney is not a Conservative!

Huckabee is not a Conservative.

Tancredo, Hunter, Thompson, Sowell, Steele, Watts, and Malkin would all be great picks for Vice President.
I think McCain should pick one of these.
I will only vote for McCain if he picks a "Conservative" Vice President and then commits suicide in a slow and painful manner!

For that matter...
McCain is not a conservative. Hell, at heart, he's not even a Republican.

Don't waste your time telling me again why conservatives and Republicans should vote for McCain.

The VP selection is all but meaningless. Would you marry a fat ugly hog just because the bridesmaid was a fox?

McCain Must Resist Increasingly Surreal
Good evening,

McCain has only one option. Gov. Sarah Palin.

Gov. Sarah Palin is respected by social and fiscal Conservatives, reformers and indy's.  The battle ground is shifting to the mid-west and Gov. Palin has the profile and geography to appeal to those voters.  Palin has more executive experience than both Clinton and Obama, and Palin practices straight-talk, which will fit well with McCain. Her two years in the Governors office brings a long list of reforms to government and a 180 degree change in how politics is practiced in Alaska.

One more note: In almost all of the head-to-head McCain-Obama polls, the number of undecided women doubles over a McCain-Clinton poll.

Fun times
I have said it before and I will say it again. This GOP Presidential race is like a cross-eyed elephant on a lopsided skateboard. The leftist Republicans and the right-wing Republicans just cannot seem to reconcile, work together, unify, or any other verb that is used to evade the fact that ideological opposites are incompatible, for the good of the Party.

I would offer a correction to this article. The GOP elite are pragmatic politicians; they do not oppose McCain (or hardly anything) on principle. They are rushing to endorse him now because they sense that their own necks are on the line. If you consider conservative pundits such as Limbaugh to be the GOP elite, then I suppose you have a case.

As for the neocons, McCain was their #1 choice from the beginning. William Kristol went to bat for the conservative credentials of McCain, Huckabee, and Romney in an earlier essay. But he listed McCain first. When you have a preference from a set of acceptable alternatives, you list your first choice first. McCain was their boy from the beginning because he is the most hawkish, and that is really all that the neocons care about.

The better choices
are Fred Thompson, Tom Tancredo, or even Ron Paul.

A Zogby poll reports most Ameriacans want McCain to answer the red phone at 3 am.

And that's what I care about.

McCain
No matter who he chooses, he won't win in November. Conservatives just don't trust him and many or most will either write another name in or leave the top of the ticket blank. We will, however, vote for the proven conservatives for the Senate and House, and other offices.

Hogwash
Nothing new from this Mormon-bashing Romney hater. The sooner everyone embraces reality the better.

1- Romney is the best possible conservative pick for a host of reasons already written about everywhere. There's a huge concensus building for him and McCain may not be able to resist the pressure.

2- Huck is the worst possible choice as evidenced from his ridiculous and sleasy campaign. Sorry, Rove is right, Huck would double McCain's troubles with conservatives.

3- McCain is better than the alternative as sad as that reality is.

4- He will win in November. There is no way this country is going to turn so hard left during a war. They would also wreak havoc with the economy.

Let's hope McCain shows us that he possesses enough wisdom to pick the right man for the job - Mitt Romney.

Huck is sleazy, Romney is honorable
Question for the author here. If Huck is the "real" conservative, then why did Romney win the CPAC poll 2 years running and was embraced by conservative leaders there as the new man to carry the conservative banner? Didn't see that happening to Huck, did you?

Why did talk radio come on board for Romney at nearly 100%? Didn't see that happening to Huck, did you?

Someone should break the news to you that talk radio and CPAC leaders/voters are not the GOP elite. They represent us - the conservative base of the GOP. You can't change Huck's spots no matter how hard you try. Sorry.

Get used to Romney as VP, and later as pres. Don't worry, it's all good.

Cogently and saliently put!
The choice VP is almost irrelevant... it never sways an election result anyway. Amnesty John can only win if Middle Americans wake up and realize that Hussein is left of Castro... he will "heal" America by trying to play Robin Hood-- tax all of us rich people making over $50k and give it to the deserving like his church members, and many millions of ILLEGALS he will try to make citizens ASAP. The trouble is, Amnesty John is REALLY a fellow lib RINO who ALSO loves ILLEGALS, so it is a Hobson's Choice (no real choice-- we get screwed either way.)

We got stuck with this CINO because of a flawed primary system (Rush-type kami kaze voting in open primaries with crowded fields) and the MSM marginalized true conservatives. CPAC judged Mitt plenty conservative on key issues, but some like this columnist obsess over social issues that cannot be won in Congress anyway-- cutting off noses to spite faces... the religious right is NOT going to prevail on abortion.

Mr. Jackson
Thank you for being one of the few on Townhall who's had the guts to call out Romney on the question of his authenticity. Your article is brilliantly damning of Romney, someone who up until now, despite his supporters, I had nevertheless had personal ambivalence and perhaps even some earnest willingness to put up for President.

Unfortunately, the Romney-folks very much had a "put up and shut up" approach towards Huckabee supporters like myself, which made Romney go from my #2 guy to my #3, behind McCain after being inundated with "only hicks vote for Huck" and of course, Hugh Hewitt's infamous line on what sort of analysts can be trusted. McCain may not have been my idea of an ideal candidate, but at least his supporters weren't spitting in my eye, and calling me a liberal, only to come begging for my vote on Super Tuesday when they needed it for their guy to win.

Your article reiterated many of the reasons I distrusted Romney, but even brought new ones to light that I had not previously known of. You are correct to note that Romney's close ties to big business are not a virtue, and makes me further disinclined to vote for him in the future being the populist I am. I sincerely hope that McCain will offer Mike Huckabee the VP slot, and that with this ticket the Republicans will control the White House and the Supreme Court for at least another 12-16 years.

More garbage
You know, there are plenty of relevant points to use against Mitt Romney. The fact that his opponents have to resort to Ad Hominem and blatant misstatements to attempt to prop up Big Government losers like Mike "Tax Hike" Huckabee is just pathetic.

What sort of counter-factual statements does this article have for us? Oh, just the usual slop.

"Romney raised taxes," no, he raised fees. Pretending that raising the fee for using a State Owned Highway Billboard that hadn't been adjusted in 20 years is a "tax increase," proves you're not hear for a rational argument.

"Romney imposed universal health care," is another lie. Since Massachusetts already demanded that all hospitals and doctors provide services without regard for the patient's ability to pay there was already universal health care on the tax-payer dime. All Romney did was demand that the people enjoying this privilege all pay for insurance to cover those costs. In the same respect, you can't drive an automobile without being insured - because otherwise reckless drivers leave society at large holding the bag for the damages they cause.

Moreover, blaming Romney for every asinine thing to ever spill out of the Democrats-only Massachusetts Legislature and far-left Massachusetts Supreme Court is juvenile nonsense. I live in Massachusetts at the time, and it was all Mitt could try and slow the bleeding these idiotic Leftists inflicted on us.

The big problem ...
Is that the best candidate isn't much younger than McCain. Fred Thompson turns 66 this year.

Putting the unreliable and unstable duo of Hackabee and Paul aside, McCain's best chance here would probably be Duncan Hunter. He's actually on top of the Conservative issues of the day, and just needs the national exposure and experience to pair his platform with a strong campaign base.

PC is the hater...
Sorry PC. Where, exactly, was the Moron-hating comment in this article? Right. It isn't there.

Hey, don't let that stop you though. You never do. Use your shallow hate-speak whenever and wherever you can... The good folks here reading can see through your misguided hate.

mlund... Romney free pass but not Huck?
Just to be clear... Romney deserves a free pass on abortion, marriage, tax(fee)-hiking, etc., because he had to fight an uphill battle in a democratic-only legislature but Huckabee, who didn't waiver on social issues but did have to deal with a serious budget short-fall in his democrat-only legislature gets criticized? Is there any fairness here?

Duncan Hunter is great. Keep in mind that Hunter endorsed Huckabee - not Romney.

The spreading epidemic of surrealism
To hell with Bill Kristol, Allan Keyes points out there isn't a single Genuine Conservative Constituency Mac the Knife hasn't stabbed in the back! He is actually the GREATER evil and a vote for him is a vote for the Death of Reagan Conservatism.

Contrary to Wendy's anti-"neocon"-----

[By the way, Has anybody EVER explained the term "neocon"? What is it other than a Cant Term Buzz Word of Phlatulent Earth Isolationist Morons with a streak of Anti-Jewishness and Tin Foil Conspiracy Hats? HEY WENDY, you better PRAY there is ENOUGH "Hawks" in America to keep the Sandnazis from Stickin You in a BURKA! One would think a GENUINE Libertarian (as opposed to the Paul Pottist Pseudolibertinearians previously mentioned) would understand-to extend M.L.King "A threat to Liberty ANYwhere is a threat to Liberty EVERYwhere, is a threat to MINE! You'd think Wendy would feel a sense of obligation to the millions of women enslaved by Shitrear Law--but no, The Pol Potters don't seem to think anybody but themselves is CAPABLE or DESERVING of Freedom]

Back to the point--Contrary to Wendy's diAribe--I'm sick to death of people who DON'T GET that the RAGHEADS WANT TO KILL US!! WE'RE IN a WAR MORONS! THEY ATTACKED US!!!---the Establishment Machine Party Boss Elites (EMPBs) I call them Robber Barson-they didn't need a Hawk, they NEEDED to BLOCK an ANTI-AMNESTY candidate at all costs!

What do Romnites think of the FairTax?
Want to hand a truly free nation down to our future generations?

Let's get groundswell support for the FairTax so our tax system will reverse the trend of jobs and capitol being chased off shore.

The FairTax would be our nation's salvation.

Let's create a renaissance period for America.

The surreal madness of the GOP PEONS
My point is that McAin't is the GREATER of the Evils because his is the surer death by Slower Poison of Socialism Lite that accustoms the victim as we have been being accustomed since Reagan left office. He is one more step down the McSame "follow the moderate road" that we have been herded down to the very BRINK of the Abyss of Socialism. At least with Hillybama there is a CHANCE/Hope that America will choke on Socialism Straight and puke it up before the fatal does it absorbed. NO chance of that with Mac the Knife. Hillybama gets my vote--it is my duty as a Conservative to the Republic.

My Duty to Reagan Conservatism tells me that if I let the Robber Barons rape me on this ONE--shoving an ANTI-CONSERVATIVE in my face--shoving McSHAMNESTY in my face, then the rape will never end. NO amount of Grass Roots Irate Phone calls prompted by Rush and Sean will have the SLIGHTEST effect every again because the Robber Barons will KNOW they will pay NO penalty the only place it counts--at the ballot box.

YOu want Reagan Conservatism to live, stop McAin't--they could make COULTER Veep and it STILL ain't gonna make a Conservative Silk Purse out of the PIG Uber Commiequeer Kerry's VEEP!

By the way, reading between the lines of Sean and Rush and "winning in Nov", they have BOTH, TACITLY accepted voting for McAin't--I predicted this, that Coulter would be the only one to not McRumpUP and to keep her MOral and Intellectual Virginity and Integrity Intact.

Vote Hillybama and Long Live Reagan Conservatism and Hope for the Republic--you don't STOP McAin't you are DEAD!

economy
At this point I am interested in supporting anyone, that knows anything, about what we are facing. Maybe the rest of you walk to work every day, but 4.00 dollar a gallon for fuel has got my attention. The shrinking dollar, housing repoe's, banking challenges, Maybe, just maybe A guy like Romney could help. Am I the only one or do we have some serious ecomonical challenges ahead of us.

Little Wendy is right even while wrong
Though Little Wendy is completely mistaken in her outdated and long discredited "left right" political spectrum (no less a light than historian Tom Wolfe pointed out in the Millenial Issue of Time that Hitler and Stalin--far from being at OPPOSITE ends were Fraternal Socialist TWINS). And is COMPLETELY wrong in her implication that "ideology" is somehow a BAD thing--THAT'S BIG LIE #1--NOTE the Definition from the Oxford Online Dictionary

ideology 1 a system of ideas and ideals forming the basis of an economic or political theory. 2 the set of beliefs characteristic of a social group or individual.

And that is BAD how?
NOTE the etymology--
-ORIGIN from Greek idea 'form' + -logos (denoting discourse or compilation).

IDEOLOGY is a "talking out" of IDEAS!!! The ESSENCE of CONSERVATIVE Free Market Competition of IDEAS!!

Wendy is RIGHT only in that the Robber Baron Rockafella Gilt Bird Cabin GOP IS INCOMPATIBLE with REAL REAGAN Conservatism. They have been an ABUSIVE SPouse since he left office and it is WAY past time for Divorce.

This author has slammed Romney and Mormonism many times, in case you were unaware. Just putting his tirade into the proper context.

Huck supporters are starting to look a little silly with their fits and all. Huck is out, and out for good. Disabuse yourself of the 2012 notion. He ran such a divisive, deceptive, downright silly and mean-spirited campaign that he could never be considered a serious contender again, not that he ever was.

I find it interesting that in order to slam Romney you need to lie. These lies about Romney are worn out, and have been refuted too many times to count.

Huck is out today defending Wright. Poor Huck, he can't live without media attention. I expect him to keep making a giant fool of himself.

marv and Wendy
Romney ain't gonna drill in ANWR cause Mac the Knife said "no"--you want cheap gas? Drill in ANWR and in the Gulf and Off Fla and if any RedGreen Environazi gets in the way burn em alive--you ain't got the guts to do that nothing else is going to matter.

You want to improve the Economy CUT TAXES--Mac Refused to DO that--CUT GOVERNMENT in HALF!! Will McFeingeld do that?? How about Gang14 those are INCUMBENT Empowerments NOT CUTS--don't give a damn what Mac the Knife SAYS about anything what he DOES in empower Big Gov.
How does SHAMNESTY help the economy?

THAT's what a MAC vote buys you, and it does NO GOOD to Hold the Line on the Eastern Front when he has SURRENDERED the Southern and HOme Fronts.

Hey WENDY--the Ragheads HATE us NOT because we buy their oil or won't let them Kill all the Jews. They HATE us because we let our Women wear Daisy Dukes, Drink Jack Daniels and Boogie to Elivs.

Romney IS Pro-Life
That $50 co-pay is not something that Romney sponsored. It was forced in by the legislature, which is, as we all know, very liberal in Massachusetts.

Romney is the best choice for social conservatives and economic conservatives, now and in 2012!

Marv - economy unleashes with FairTax
The way to fix the economy is to replace the 96-year-old tax on income, capital gains, estate taxes and replace it with the FairTax (23% enbedded National Sales Tax with a prebate provision). See http://www.fairtax.org.

Our current systems currently favor BIG Business. Naturally, any business will reduce costs but BIG business has the wherewithal to setup shop overseas. All US labor includes 7.65% employer-matching overhead (FICA and Medicare). Employers automatically save 7.65% plus lower wages due to lower (cost of living/living standards) abroad.

If our economy didn't have this exodus of jobs/capital, the government wouldn't have to prop the economy up with bubbles, printing dollars, etc. Inflation is killing us right now and everything is crumbling all around us.

We are currently the frog sitting in the pot of water with the heat slowly being turned up. Some of us are saying "Let's jump!" enough of us need to jump in order to stop from getting cooked. Realy, a groundswell of support is needed.

There's a FairTax Rally in Nashville on 4/12. I am strongly thinking of taking the family from California to attend. This needs to happen now.

Lodestar I guess these guys are too dumb

Mitt, Huck, Hunter--IT DON'T MATTER!!!

IF YOU VOTE FOR MAC THE KNIFE YOU ARE VOTING TO KILL REAGAN CONSERVATISM.

The wedding analogy was apt. WAY past time for a Divorce.

Hey PC. Do you support the FairTax?
PC,

First off, me a liar? What, specifically, are you refering to?

Second off, you are the first to infuse religious bigotry here. If you simply kept to the issues you might have some credibility.

Tell me this... are you in favor of our 96-year-old and ever-changing-for-special-interests tax code or do you favor the FairTax?

If anti-FairTax... why?

As is very clear by my posts... I believe the FairTax is our nations salvation. Where do you stand on this bold issue?

Quit Wasting Your Time
You're voting for a lost cause and a lost nation! PUSH FOR SECESSION!!! Red States must leave this FRACTURED UNION that has become so untenable that it is possibly on the verge of electing a racist anti-American( who can't even say the Pledge of Allegiance) as Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Forces!!!!!!!! THIS IS SO OUT OF WHACK THAT WORDS DO IT NO JUSTICE!!! THIS IS ABOMINABLE MADNESS!!!

Inevitably to the left
Mr. Jackson, I get the sense that what you are most committed to is some sort of theocracy, even though you would not recognize it as such, and that secular right-wing issues do not concern you except as useful bullets to shoot down your non-theocratic opponents. I get the distinct sense that your worldview and value system is a mixture of concepts which the limited government axis of thinking cannot hold together for much longer. Don't worry. You are not alone.

knight - oops, sorry!
I did not mean you lied, but the author. I changed it from "one needs to lie" to you need to lie" and I was definitely not referring to you. Sorry it seemed so.

I don't know anything about the fair tax, but believe it's a fantasy in this poitical climate. I think Huck used it as cover for his horrible tax record.

@ big mick
Please stop accusing me of being a pacifist. I am in support of ending Islamic Totalitarianism (for our sakes, not for that of women around the world; that would be a collective doctrine). I am simply opposed to looking the other way when a leftist (McCain) proposes to do the job, unlike the neocons, for whom being a hawk is the singular criteria of merit.

Now some Common Sense
Who McNut should select for His VP should be a man of questionable honor, courage ,Loyality to this country very smart a leader and a real warrior .

He would be the Liberal anti war pacifist crowds worse night mare !
He would be a modern Gen. Ike !!!

And who really cares?
The Republican Party has devolved into some sick annex of the Democratic Party and is just about due to go the way of the Whigs. Who really cares who sinks the last nail into that coffin? Let's just move on a find the best Constitution Party candidate. It's time for the next revolution.

Thanks for stating the facts!
Thanks for finally calling the Fox talking heads on their pro-Romney stance. I find it interesting that they are pushing him in an even more overt tone since his Bane corporation bought the Clear channel - the channel from which Hannity, Rush, Colter, and Ingram operate. It is truly amazing how much support Huckabee gained when the Republican establishment was against him, the conservative talk show mouths blasted him, and his limited financial resources would not allow much exposure. Nonetheless, Huckabee was the most popular conservative in the race - ahead of Hunter, Tancredo, and Thompson. Romney, of course, was never a conservative for reasons you so aptly stated. Huckabee is the best choice for VP.

For a man whose critics say he is far too fond of the television cameras, General David Petraeus, commander of US forces in Iraq, has been rather out of the limelight this Christmas.

America needs this MAN AS PRESIDENT !

McCain/Huckabee will win in November
We have two men of strong character, gutsy, determined, never quitting, intelligent, steadfast in their beliefs and both honest, willing to put their political careers on the line for what they believe in. They have a few differences, but having both on the ticket will satisfy conservatives that have been reluctant to jump on McCain's bandwagon. McCain can fully trust Huckabee, a must when picking a vp mate.

Somebody asked, just what is a neoCON anyway? RINO Amnesty John is UNQUESTIONABLY in their camp. I kept a post which had a good explanation of it here by jerebaub, among the more literate, cognitive, and reasoned posters on TH:

*****************************
jerabaub writes: Saturday, February, 09, 2008 3:15 PM

Neocons arose from disaffected leftist democrats who, beginning in the 1970s, began to defect from the democrat party over the foreign policy planks of the McGovern and later Carter wings. They were unhappy over the party's stance toward the USSR, and also because they felt the party was not sufficiently anti-Palestinian, i.e., pro-Israel.

Among original neocons were Norman Podhoretz and Irving Kristol, father of Bill Kristol of Fox News and the Weekly Standard. In fact, Irving Kristol was a former communist, a Trotskyite.

Many neocons today are not former democrats, and perhaps not even former leftists, but the movement itself was formed by leftists.

Neocons today usually support preemptive attacks against any nation, whether that nation attacked us or not. Iraq is the obvious example. Iran is another, although Iran supposedly provides weapons to Iraqi's and others who attack our forces.

Neocons also favor placing missile batteries on Russia's borders, and the argument that they are only defensive is silly. Would we allow Russia to place defensive missile batteries in Mexico?

Some "poor unfortunates", too ignorant to know any better, equate being anti Israeli government policy, with being anti-Semitic, and the feeble argument of some who condemn the neoCONS is based on that... that attacking the neoCONS is tantamount to being anti-Semitic, as if the U.S. and Israeli foreign policy were one and the same.

They ain't. Nor should they be. We are two separate nations. Friends, fine, but our interests do not always merge.

Hey, Greg B, SD
I give the following comment from your 1:45 PM post my coveted (?) "Seal of True Conservatism."

"Would you marry a fat ugly hog just because the bridesmaid was a fox?"

Beautiful!

There's an anti-McCain piece at my blog (click on "Norman") that you might enjoy.

Cheers!

Lodestar/Jerebaub
Correct. We and Israel are two separate nations and our interests do not always merge. How about if the State Department Arabists let Israel get the job done next time instead of getting in the way and intefering? Just because the US is afraid to win doesn't mean we should impose that timidity on Israel.

kapahulu
Agreed. The weenies at Foggy Bottom are collectively the single greatest obstacle to Middle East peace.

Please Not Romney
Romney is not a conservative. Look at this MA record of big spending and goverment programs like RomneyCare. (I think I am going to be called a Mormon hater becaused I critized Romney...I have Mormon friends by the way so don't event start that...just stay on on facts people)

Greg B, SD
For whatever it's worth, over at my blog I just announced your having been named the recipient of the first-ever, greatly coveted . . .

. . . Blogatorium "Seal of True Conservatism"!

Congrats!

Feel free to put it on your resume!

The award check, to be delivered in person by the wait staff of your local Hooters "restaurant," should reach you any day now . . .

:-)

Seriously, though, great line! Keep 'em coming!

Cheers!

Norman
I'm nearly speechless.

I'll probably stay home from work tomorrow waiting for the Hooters chicks to get here with the "check."

I hope they know how to perform the "Elliot Spitzer Special."

McCain will be...
McCain will be the death of 1,000 slashes to the Conservative movement, if elected. Maybe even if he's not elected. Never has one man betrayed so many with whom he claimed alliance.

Huckabeen Wants to be Obama's VP

"McCain/Huckabee will win in November
We have two men of strong character, gutsy, determined, never quitting, intelligent, steadfast in their beliefs and both honest, willing to put their political careers on the line for what they believe in. They have a few differences, but having both on the ticket will satisfy conservatives that have been reluctant to jump on McCain's bandwagon. McCain can fully trust Huckabee, a must when picking a vp mate."

nrobyar:
Huckabeen is history in the GOP, that is why he is now sucking-up to Obama by defending Obama's hateful minister. Other than being pro-life, Huckabee is a liberal so he and Obama are a perfect match! Both Huckabeen and Obama are snake-oil salesman and charlatans as well who have fooled many in their partys. McCain will win, likely with Romney, but at least rock-star-wanna-be Huckabeen gets to keep feeding his swelled ego's need for attention for now.

No PC. Huck supported FairTax...
because it is the right thing to do.

Do me a favor... go visit http://ytknight.wordpress.com for a very nice intro to the FairTax.

This is the defining issue of our time. We either continue to accept taxation without representation (something that we fought a revolutionary war over a few centuries ago...) or we wake up as a nation.

I don't know what it is going to take for folks to "get it" but our current tax system in intrusive and abusive and it chases jobs/capital out of our nation. It is up to us to do something about it. We owe it to ourselves and future generations. Without it, we continue to have a hollowing out of a the American middle class and continued crumbling of the economy.

Folks, we can all wake up ten years from now in an enlightend and prosperous country or we can be in extremely dire times wondering why nobody did something about it when we had a chance.

Groundswell of support... that is what it will take.

Peace,

YK

smith:
You're wrong. Romney has not worked for/with Bain for a number of years now.

all criticism and no suggestion
I see that the author tore down Romney but I didn't see him suggest anyone else.
I like Duncan Hunter, and he has the military background to take over if something happens to McCain.

Social "conservatives" need to...
reach out toward McCain.

As is obvious from the GOP primary results, it was McCain who captured the plurality of Republican support; if the so-called cosnervatives (who really just want to implement THEIR version of Big Government, in the opposite-side-of-the-coin manner of Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, and other social engineers) wish a seat at the Republican table this Presidential election it is THEY who need to reach toward McCain and the mainstream of the GOP. McCain needs to appoint a Veep who best works with him toward resolving the vital issues facing all Americans, not appeasing those who lost out in this year's primaries (Romney is NOT the answer, BTW, nor is Huckabee.)

In this day and age of international terrorism, economic instability, massive illegal entry into our nation, bloated government, and more, those are issues which the next Administration will need to spend time addressing; let the so-called "values" people address their issues where they belong, in the homes and in the pulpits of America.

No Campaign for True Conservatives
McAmnesty is told by the FEC that he is bound by his OWN law, McCain-Feingold campaign deform and he can't spend between now and the election (Bob Dole's disease), so he invents a Senate junket trip to circumvent the law and have the taxpayers pay for his overseas travels. A big piece of pork pie for "cost-cutter" McAmnesty! But that's how someone who doesn't understand economics and has been on the public payroll all his life thinks--taxpayers pick up the tab for everything. Then there's the astronomical damage to the economy, subprimes especially, from the unconstitutional invasion by 25 million illegal aliens and terrorists, in preparation for the sellout North American Union (MexAmeriCanada) with its shiny new (non-gold) Amero. Add the cost of Hundred Years Wars all over the planet to add to our $9 trillion dollar debt, and no clue how to pay. What does that add up to McSellout? Check with Soros.

McAmesty will pick another neo-con sellout like his butt boy McMiniMe Grahamnesty, the only one out there shorter than he is, to stroke his ego. That's fine though, because there is no way a real conservative should want to be part of the destruction of our nation, should Wacky Jack get elected.

Today would have been the birthday of the Republican Party, which doesn't exist any more. Nice going Bush and McAmnesty, for destroying the party, and giving the election to Clinton/Obama! Thirty pieces of silver for you!

What is his name?

We need to convince the fellow who term limited himself, balanced the budget then went home to raise a family (twins I believe)

His name is John Kashich?

Not so fast.

This conservative will jump on that bandwagon when several burly men pick her up and throw her there bodily -- and she'll still be scrambling to get off. Gimme a break.

Yt_Knight writes:
'Marv - economy unleashes with FairTax
The way to fix the economy is to replace the 96-year-old tax on income, capital gains, estate taxes and replace it with the FairTax (23% enbedded National Sales Tax with a prebate provision). See http://www.fairtax.org.'

The Fair Tax with prebate sets up a perfect opportunity for big government to ultimately 'employee' all the poor people. Once the government has the mechanism to send a check to each and every one the first move will be to include EIC in the check to the poor. Then the government will means test the check by saying if you earn more than the poverty level you will not receive the full (or any) check. Then the government will prebate the poverty level of social security and medicare/medicade to the means tested people with incomes below poverty line. Thus the people below poverty line will have become employed by our socialist government. I would think the Democrats are simply salivating to get this going. The FDR statement that 'What we have started can never be stopped.' (referring to social security) will have reached its ultimate goal of total control of a major voting block and will be the end of this Republic.

A Fair Tax of 15% with groceries, electricity, gas, heating oil, gasoline, water and the first $50 per article of clothing exempted and the reduction of business tax to 15% would be a vast improvement. This is how (I think) the first fair tax concept was proposed.

McCain's running mate
Ted Kennedy

I should have said...
This is similar to (I think) the first fair tax concept that was proposed.

A flat tax with a huge personal deduction would also be a huge improvement over the diseased tax structure we currently have. A lot of people, in either case, who work in the current tax system, IRS, H&R Block etc would be out of work. That would include my dear daughter.

Does the GOP Want To Win?

It's really up to Sen. McCain. If he wants our votes, he has to earn them.

He said he heard us after the last amnesty fight. He heard two things right. We want the border secured and we don't trust them. There apparently was alot he didn't hear.

He hired Juan Hernandez, who represents foreign nationals illegally in our country as his hispanic outreach, instead of reaching out to someone from "You Don't Speak For Me" a group of citizens of hispanic descent who oppose illegal aliens.

He said a couple of weeks ago he would sign McCain/Kennedy if it were put on his desk.

If he wants my vote, there are a couple of things he could do.
1. Publicly dismiss and disavow Juan Hernandez and the Reconquista for which he stands.
2. Apologize for conspiring in secret with La Raza and Ted Kennedy and trying to jam amnesty down our throats.
3. Pledge to veto ANY amnesty bill.
4. Pledge to enforce the laws, including deportation, which is the penalty for illegal aliens.

It's up to Sen. McCain, he can represent the interests of American citizens and uphold the rule of law or he can continue to court the favor of liberals and illegal aliens.

I will not vote for the latter.

Gregg hates Mitt not matter how he
dresses up his column. This is one of his milder anti Mitt writings.

Too bad he dredges up faulty arguments to derail facts about Mitt's actual record and positions. He makes Mitt sound like a monster with his selective links that don't tell the real context of events.

And PC is right that hidden behind all Gregg's intellectualizing in this column is his contempt for Mitt because he's a Mormon. His past articles cut to the chase and were a litany of his interesting collection of misinformation--with his take on Mormon doctrine and history, all supported by more links from others who agreed with his view of LDS. If you didn't know the actual history and doctrines, Gregg sounded very convincing. But Gregg has been grossly inaccurate in tone and in facts when writing about Mitt.

Now he's bypassing Mitt's problem solving record in government, business, and the Olympics and slamming Mitt as dung under our feet. Just because he prefers Huckabee doesn't mean he needs to continually work at disassembling information to discredit Mitt.

Journalistic honesty would be nice.

I believe McCain would be well served by having Mitt as a running mate, that Mitt's presence on the ticket will bring balance in both viewpoint and in experience. Both men seek to serve their country and bring courage and valor to government.

With the world one bomb away from chaos and one bank away from panic, we citizens are overloaded with events beyond our direct control. Sometimes when people are over stressed, they fight among themselves. Let's not do that as a GOP. Let's put a man of strength such as Mitt Romney together with our GOP candidate who is strong on national defense and reining in spending together and elect that team in November.

The Stupid Party

The RNC wants an amnesty candidate.

Don't vote for one.

Another amnesty will result in Democrat majorities for decades, or until they are supplanted by the La Raza Party, why doesn't the RNC know that? How stupid do you have to be to import voters for the opposition at the same time you alienate your own voters? Nominating any of the amnesty supporters is a losing proposition, we will not support them. If the GOP intends to surrender our sovereignty and abandon the rule of law, they will find in November 2008, that they still have their big money/cheap labor donors, but they do not have voters. GOP-RIP

What Don't you Get?
IT DOES NOT MATTER who McCain picks for his VP
UNLESS HE IS DEAD !

I will not reward a dishonest liberal who pretends to be what he is not. It will not save the country, it will only prolong the agony.

Mitt's problem solving record???
in government???

Not very wise, woman.

I live in Massachusetts; Mitt Romney was an ineffectual Governor, no more effective than the sitting acting-Governor of his own party that he pushed aside to advance his career, and FAR less effective than predecessors Bil Weld and Paul Cellucci. And to win that race, he ran as the kind of fiscally conservative but socially moderate canididate that wins races outside of the Bible Belt. Only when he caught Potomac Fever (sometime around December, '04) did he flip-flop on issue after issue after issue in a craven attempt to cater to self-described social conservatives whose support he- wrongly- thought he could win.

(In fairness, Romney does have a record of significant achievement in the private sector, one he can be proud of. A shame he wasn't able to translate that success into political success as Governor of Massachusetts.)

McCain
The GOP might as well give up now. They ended up with an unacceptable candidate by pandering to the left in order to be "popular" and in doing so, ended up to be the wallflower. Conservatives will NOT vote for McCain in November. We'll have at least four years under a Democrat. However, conservatives will work to elect the proven conservatives for other offices.

ReconUSMC
Interesting idea. Although I had thought of Gen Petraeus as a future president, I had not thought of him as a VP now.
On the one hand, whoever McCain chooses will be the presumptive heir in 08 or 2012. On the other hand, don't we need Gen Petraeus more where he is for awhile?

BAMAdox
Certainly it would not matter to you if you have decided not to vote for McCain.
But for those who have decided to vote for him, and for some independents out there who might, it does matter.

His pick may help his chances of getting elected (which I understand you oppose, but you're not the only guy in the room), and that person will also likely be the presumptive GOP nominee for 08 or 2012. Of course, most of all it's important because that person might wind up being president of the United States.

I understand your theory that some kind of big revolution should come about, but I don't subscribe to it. I see a clear choice in this election, and it is one with consequence. We don't always get to choose THE president, but we always get to choose which of the candidates will become president.

"Romney is the best v.p. pick."
Let me guess Mr. Jackson, you are a Huckabee supporter. You need to get all of your facts straight. Do just a little bit of research and you will find out that you are wrong on these grievances you have against Romney. I perceive some "bigotry" here on your behalf. Seek out the truth before you go accusing and judging someone. Fred Barnes was right on the money!!!!

Gingrich
Gingrich would be the best running mate followed by Condi Rice and Romney respectively.

oh, give it up
It's just a lost cause. Condi, Newt, Mitt -- whoever. The homecoming queen is a freak. Who cares who she asks to the Sadie Hawkins dance?

If
McCain picked Duncan Hunter I might actually vote the ticket. He would be a good choice for conservatives and could help with California.
Otherwise everyone should get use to saying "Yes Ms President"

Jackson's wrong on the delegate count

Jackson rant is a new low for Townhall.
According to him, Huckabee got the silver in
the delegate count. The silver went to Romney
(272) to Huckabee's 270. This was after Romney
was out of the for many weeks and had con-
vinced the Michigan delegates to switch their
votes to McCain.

Gee, I wonder what other facts Jackson got
wrong?

Hagar: The Problem Is
McCain would never pick a quality candidate like Duncan Hunter. McCain doesn't like Hunter--Hunter is conservative.

McCain seems to have a touch of senility. Even Charles Krauthammer noticed it. His brain is addled.

Paul can still win it all...............
When McCain gets into a shouting match on the campaign trail, has a heart attack and goes on to his eternal ?, Dr. Ron Paul will be there to take his place. He will win the national election because, when the people hear the sheer rationality of Dr. Paul's views, they will vote for him in a landslide. The fact that he will face an Obama/Clinton ticket will also be of immense help. Even I could beat those corrupt troglodytes with my dog as my VP, and who would not love to storm Satan's political citadel.

What not this?
Can someone tell me why J.C. Watts is not considered for the number 2 spot. Hell, I think he would have made the logical GOP candidate for president, but know one ever seems to talk about him. Looking for some insight here. Watts/Rice would be unbeatable and close our hold on the White House for 16 years.

A little correction
I got in too muc of a hurry to post. Should have read: "no one ever seems to talk about him." Sorry about that. I am not a maroon.

Smokescreen for the Dems
Howee wrote:

"I live in Massachusetts; Mitt Romney was an ineffectual Governor, no more effective than the sitting acting-Governor of his own party that he pushed aside to advance his career, and FAR less effective than predecessors Bil Weld and Paul Cellucci."

That's a steaming load of manure. I lived in Massachusetts under Romney and moved out to Arizona, and I know you're full of crap. Weld and Cellucci were terrible governors. They let Tommy "Taxes" Finneran and Billy "Nevermind me helping my murdering brother" Bulger run the state into the ground. Romney was, by far, the most effectual administrator of the bunch. He was also the most staunch obstructionist in the way of the Democratic super-majority Legislature.

When someone in Massachusetts says, "Romney didn't get anything done as governor," what they really mean is either:

A.) "Whaa! Mitt Romney didn't magically cause Republicans to win State elections."

or

B.) "Whaa! Mitt Romney got in the way of advancing my pet Communist Agenda like my Democratic Legislators and Judges promised me they would."

Republicans Who Can't Stomach McCain
We are all deeply worried that voting for the leftist McCain is a vote for more government expansion and fiscal irresponsibility. And many of us just won't do it...

My concern is how the Republicans are going to interpret the election results when the Dems win this November... How will Republicans know that we want smaller government if we vote for bigger government...? How will they know we demand fiscal responsibility from them when we vote for fiscal irresponsibility...? I believe the Reps are going to interpret their upcoming loss as meaning the country wants more leftism, not less. I fear the Reps will turn to MORE fiscal irresponsibility and MORE expansion of government as a way to return themselves to power.

The only way I see them getting the message loud and clear that they are totally screwing up is to write in the name of the only candidate with a history of operating within his budget and not exceeding his constitutional authority. How else will they get the intended message if we send them a different one...? Don't send them a mixed message. Send a CLEAR one. Write-in Ron Paul.

In the words of Samuel Adams: "It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds".

Thank you Mister Jackson.

I forgot to do that after you gave me some search words, ie, "Commonwealth Care," which I could rightly divide for myself.

The primaries were very hard on many of us, because our favorite people deceived us. Either that or their legal degrees and golden microphones caused them to become daft in a bizarre drug-like combination. I do not know.

I do know that if Mr. McCain names Mr. Romney as a running mate, I will know him to be what I feared, not what I hoped.

McCain himself, when he did not support the Federal Marriage Amendment (citing Federalist paper #45), named Massachusetts' homosexual marriage as "illegal." He knows exactly what happened in MA. So McCain would show an incredibly shoddy political philosophy in choosing Romney. I do think better of Sen. McCain. I hope he proves me to be true.

TOWN HALL EDITORS
Since I can't find ANY PLACE where I can email townhall directly, I am using this space to get your attention. Can't you do something about the annoying pop-ups of the past week?

I am using a system that blocks pop-ups and yet these get by my filter. You can't get rid of them no matter what you do. If you try to "X" out of them by closing the box, they lock onto you. If you answer "no" to their solicitations, they still lock onto you. No matter what I try, there is no getting rid of them. They are EXTREMELY annoying, and I will stop coming here if you don't get rid of them.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

That's all You Romniacs Got?
Jackson writes a masterful article nailing Romney as the Left Wing Radical he is as well as the placebo "conservative" elites like Fred Barnes who have ignored/whitewashed/hid his real record from the voters and all people like "Jan" and "Shelby" have in response is that Romney really got the "silver" because he got 2 more delegates than Huckabee? That's all you have? My God, will you drunken Kool Aid Guzzling Romniacs please go away? The game is over. McCain will not pick Romney. And Romney will not be able to buy the White House no matter how many times the phony "conservative" elites cover and lie for him. The voters are smarter than the GOP elites. Now, run along little doggies....

Gregg Jackson is a Bigot
Interesting comments, but from what i have seen of Mr. Jackson's writings concerning Mitt Romney, it all boils down to bigotry and a personal grudge on the part of Mr. jackson.

Bigotry Charge is Bogus
I guess when you don't have the facts on your side, you just call the author a "bigot." Sorry that one has already been debunked. http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/ 20071129/COMMENTARY/111290015/1012

I can promise McCain
If by some stupid attack chance,he picks huckabee for veep, he's lost the race. He'll lose the westen united states, which include CA, NM, AZ, UT, CO, MT, OR and Washington. MI will fall as will Mass, and the northen states. lMost find Huckabee to be unpalatable. There just ain't enough evangelicals ho vote blindly, to get huckabee elected without the LDS vote. Sorry, facts be facts. We won't vote for huckabee, and will take chances for 4, and then, elect a GOP we can stomach. Huck aint it.

He Gregg!
Question: What former presidental candidate (who came in second) has sent his fund raiser team over to McCain?

Answer: Mitt Romney.

Writing's on the wall, my friend. Writing's on the wall.

McCain/Romney 08

McCain Won't Pick "The Zombie"
"The writing is on the wall is it?"

There are a number of Huckabee and Guiliani people on the McCain team now fundraising. Doesn't mean a thing.

Romney is toast. McCain knows how dishonest Romney is and McCain knows he needs a real conservative, not somebody like Romney who is more left wing than even McCain himself is.

The Zombie needs to go away. And this week you will hear more about a major announcement among grass roots conservatives stating that they will not support a McCain-Romney ticket under any circumstances.

Even Mitt's Millions couldn't buy the White House.

He and his funny underwear are not welcome in the People's House (also knows as the White House).

Romney's 15 minutes are up. Sorry.

To Shelby---About Mike Huckabee
Shelby, You obviously have spent no time investigating the candidates, just bashing them! It is a shame for anyone who has given a year of their time, worked 20 hours days to try and serve our country to be talked about so disrespecfully as you talk about Governor Huckabee. Yes, I did see where alot of Obama supporters would like Governor Huckabee on their ticket, but it has nothing to do with being Conservative or Liberal, it has everything to do with INTEGRITY, COMPASSION, the unique ability Governor Huckabee has to connect with ALL people. It's about vertical politics, taking the country up to a better place, not left or right. Perhaps you should visit http://www.mikehuckabee.com. You might educate youself and, who knows, you might just like what you see. Millions and millions of us did!!!

Huckabee who?
Now that Mike H's lips have had the superglue pried off McCain's backside, you all might want to do a little seach.

Honest folks don't try to sirt the laws of 'gifts' by regisertng for 'wedding gifts' as you leave office.

Honest folks do'nt call press conferences, and say they are just too good to show the commercial they made about romney, then show it anyway.

Honst folks don't let little things about the other's religion just 'slip' out, knowing the true context of the quote, and not giving it.

Honest folks don't make a living off God.

Your guy is toasted and butterd and thank the good Lord, GONE!

Mr. Jackson, your usual bigotry thing!
You have no credibility, Mr. Jackson. So just give it up. The history of your columns give you away.

Mitt Romney would be a great blessing to this country right now. We are swimming in red tape and need his expertise on the economic side in a big way. McCain would be smart, for once, to pick Mitt Romney as his running mate. Now that would be a ticket I could stomach!

Huckabee is toast. The man lacks class, above all. America saw him for what he was. Goodbye, Huckabee!

Romney's Failed Economic Record
Oh, yeah, that's right anybody who opposes Romney is a "bigot." When you have no argument and are unable to actually rebut the facts you name call and accuse people like Mr. Jackson of being a "bigot."

Well, "NSD" if Romney is such an "economic expert" why did he raise taxes $800 million in Massachusetts (he called them "fees")which has devestated the economy?

Why did Romney sign into law a socialist healthcare plan endorsed by Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood that has been an abysmal failure?

Why would a so-called "economic expert" like Romney have opposed the very same supply side pro growth Bush 2003 Tax Cuts that have led to enormous economic growth over the past half decade?

Enough with the myth that Romney is some sort of economic conservative. His claim to fame is raising taxes by almost $1 billion and instituting a socialist healthcare plan both of which destroyed the Massachusetts' economy.

Do your homework on Romney before opening up your large pie hole and talking about things you have no clue about.

Romney is a far left wing liberal. Lay off the Kool Aid and sober up!

WHERE IN THE HELL IS THE REPUBLICAN BASE
When is the Republican base going to wake up and put some real support behind John McCain? Sitting back while Obama gains ground is like fiddling while Rome burns. Surely Republicans and corporate America prospered during the last 8 years. Now is the time to allocate some of those resources to help McCain beat Obama. I know some Republicans don't like McCain, but would you rather see Obama get elected? Republicans ... Don't bite off your nose to spite your face!
Support John McCain NOW!
