Is President Obama's Afghanistan plan a step in the right direction?

Even Americans knowledgeable about Europe’s growing accommodation to the totalitarian ideology known alternatively as Islamism, jihadism or Islamofascism tend smugly to believe the same thing can’t happen here. Think again. Every day, new evidence appears of similar acts of submission – the Islamists call it “dhimmitude” – on the part of the U.S. government, judges, the press and leading corporations.

Eurabia, meet the United States of Amerabia.

On May 4, an ominous alarm was sounded in a Pajamas Media column by Youssef Ibrahim, a former New York Times reporter. Ibrahim is an astute critic of the Islamists’ steady, tireless and increasingly effective efforts to impose – on Muslims and non-Muslims alike – the repressive theo-political-legal agenda they call Shariah law. He warned that “In the very real war on terror, a noisy squabble over ‘fighting them there so we don’t have to fight them here’ clouds a simple truth: namely, that ‘they’ are here already. Indeed, Islamists are busy constructing a wing of jihad in America’s backyard.”

Among the most worrisome of the “they” now operating inside the United States are various front organizations systematically established by the Islamist organization known as the Ikhwan, or Muslim Brotherhood. During last year’s federal trial of the Holy Land Foundation on terrorism-financing charges, the government introduced into evidence the names of many scores of such Ikhwan fronts. Identified also as unindicted co-conspirators were virtually every one of the most prominent Muslim-American organizations, including notably the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).

Prosecutors also presented what amounts to a Brotherhood mission statement. According to a memorandum produced by the group in 1991: “The process of settlement [of Islam in the United States] is a "Civilization-Jihadist" process with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that all their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ their miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers.”

To be clear, this is not the agenda of all Muslims, certainly not all American Muslims. Yet, we cannot safely ignore the fact that followers of the Muslim Brotherhood are among those who do have such an outcome as their goal – let alone allow our “hands” to contribute to its realization.

Writing about this Brotherhood manifesto in the Dallas Morning News last September, columnist Rod Dreher observed: “The entire 18-page platform outlines a plan for the long haul. It prescribes the Muslim Brotherhood's comprehensive plan to set down roots in civil society. It begins by both founding and taking control of American Muslim organizations, for the sake of unifying and educating the U.S. Muslim community – this to prepare it for the establishment of a global Islamic state governed by Shariah.”

Unfortunately, in the past seventeen years, the Ikhwan has succeeded beyond its wildest dreams. Groups like CAIR, ISNA and MPAC not only made great strides in what Ibrahim calls “the common task [of] instill[ing] the notion among Arab-Americans or European immigrant communities of Muslim countries that they are not part of secular multicultural societies.” Brotherhood fronts have also penetrated and exercised enormous influence over U.S. government agencies responsible for understanding and countering the Islamist threat.

Space limitations preclude more than a handful of examples: The FBI allows CAIR to provide “sensitivity training” for its agents. U.S. intelligence actively recruits at ISNA and other Ikhwan front conferences. One of ISNA’s highly placed admirers, Pentagon deputy chief Gordon England’s consigliere Hisham Islam, was allowed to purge the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s Islamist expert, Steven Coughlin, for warning against such practices.

Most recently, two key federal agencies – the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security – encouraged American officials to eschew, when describing our enemies, the use of such terms as jihadist, mujahedeen, Islamic terrorist, Islamist, holy warrior and Islamofascism. According to an Associated Press report, the government is supposed instead to “use the terms 'violent extremist' or 'terrorist.' Both are widely understood terms that define our enemies appropriately and simultaneously deny them any level of legitimacy.” (Evidently, President Bush has not gotten the word as he used what Andy McCarthy calls the “J-word” in his press conference last week.)

This astounding act of dhimmitude confirms Steve Coughlin’s thesis: The enemy has so thoroughly gotten inside our decision-making as to preclude us from understanding his true nature and threat doctrine. By affording the Ikhwan such an opportunity, we have rendered this country, as a practical matter, incapable of countering our Islamist foes abroad – let alone here at home.

Fortunately, a courageous legislator, Rep. Sue Myrick (Republican of North Carolina), has come forward to challenge the emerging Amerabia. She has unveiled a ten-point program that calls for, among other things: investigations of Ikhwan penetrations of our prison and military chaplain corps; an inquiry into the legitimacy of CAIR’s tax-exempt status; corrective actions with respect to numerous ill-advised policies vis a vis Saudi Arabia; and addressing the seditious nature of Islamist threats to our government and people.

For her exemplary leadership and determination to resist national dhimmitude, this column recognizes Congresswoman Myrick with its coveted “Horatius (or, for the first time Horatia) at the Bridge” award, for her willingness – like the legendary Roman – to take on singlehandedly the enemy hordes and try to save her country. We hope she will add to her list, and secure the broadest possible support for her efforts.

Just what is so bad?
Muslim law and culture has been virtually unchanged for well over 1000 years. Any system that survives this long must be doing something right. Reminds me of the Native American's observation. "Before the white man came here, nobody punched a time clock, the men went hunting or fishing all day, the women did all the work. And you fools thought you could improve on a system like that?" Muslim countries have virtually no theft, no adultery, no drugs or drunkeness, male female roles are closely proscribed. And what is lacking? Merely freedom and individual self-expression. But how are these expressed here in the enlightened secular West? All too often and in ever increasing extent in crime, promiscuity, abortion, drug abuse and vanity. If decadence is inspired by Satan, the Arabs certainly are entitled to call us Satanists. This is the picture the media presents to the world. The vast majority of our unique and wonderful population are not newsworthy and so are ignored.

Wahabai's are weapons
Remember "First Blood" when Colonel Trautman says to the Sheriff that Rambo doesn't need weapons, he is a weapon.
15 of the 19 human weapons who inflicted 911 were Wahabai raised and trained in Saudi Arabia. They were Wahabais. There schooling was paid for totally by Saudi Arabia. Wahabais are being trained today in Saudi Arabia and the USA.

But when the Wahabais struck we didn't strike back. Saudi Arabia is just too important to us. So we found some little guy, Iraq, and beat up on that country. Our response to our true enemy, the King of Saudi Arabia was for our President George W. Bush to hold hands with him. I kid you not. Full page picture in the National Geographic. Just to add injury to insult George Bush Senior has a "consulting contract" with the King of Saudi Arabia. This has to involve hundreds of millions of dollars in consulting fees which George and Jeb will inherit. AND THIS IS NEVER DISCUSSED. The MSM hasn't just been penetrated, it has been totally taken over.

The Saudi's have to own the Media. Striking back at the true source of 911 was never discussed. To this day it has not been mentioned.

Let American Jews...
...handle this problem of Muslim infiltration into American society, politics and America's institutions. After all, they did such good jobs as communists/socialists in the making of a socialist America for the last 90 years that Jews already know the drill. Of course the ACLU will make it difficult for American Jews to hold the line against these Muslims from turning America into a New World Caliphate. "Imagine", the Skirball Center as a mosque.

Multi-Culti Weasels Must Go!
"The proposed ban on incitement to “religious hatred” make no sense unless it involves a ban on the Koran itself."

Boris Johnson- Mayor Elect of London

Its amazing to watch the graduates of America's 'finest' universities where they got A's from 'professors' like Ward Churchill and William Ayres use their vaunted multicultural skills to enable themselves to crawl on their bellies and abase themselves before the vile representatives of an arrogant uber-religious political culture which wants to extinguish all human rights and covert this country into a wretched, miserable, poverty-stricken pigsty like the Allah-blessed countries that these paragons decided, for some reason, to leave.
We need a new leader to take power and fire the entire foreign-policy establishment in Washington. They are our enemies or are too cowardly and self-effacing to do anything but provoke contempt for our country. Then we turn to our Islamofascist enemies and hand them a free one-way ticket to Palookastan in the cargo hold of the next jet out.

the west vs the muslim killers
there seems to be a real disconnect. The muslims have learned that by infiltrating another country and making demands they think can get their way.

When that doesn't work they have a long history of terrorism and assasination. As expected the left always caves into any threats thinking that appeasement will save them.

But where do muslims rule without the aid of a secret police and torture chambers muslims have proven incapable of ruling with any sense of enlightenment.

They are counting on mass surrender from the west where they will set up their pockets of muslims and the right to practice the law of sharia.

Only when the west realizes there is more to lose from surrender than from fighting to maintain your values these killers will spread like a plague.

But assuming the muslims find ways to impliment the laws of sharia in the western countries they infest where are they going to find the necessary infrastructure to maintain the police state they need to maintain power.

We have already seen how cheaply muslims value the lives of individuals. They are willing to sacrifice millions to win against the west. The west's problem remains how to convince muslims they cannot win. Barring that is the west willing to fight and if necessary kill millions of muslims in order to preserve the west.

With the threat of iran and it's nuclear potential and no reluctance to use other weapons of mass destruction it seems only a matter of time until the west is engaged in full scale war with the m/e.

The muslims are gambling the west lacks the intestional fortitude to fight and win expecially against the women and children they will gladly sacrifice. But the old saw about be careful for what you wish for may come back to bite the m/e and it's citizens around the world.

To detach our umbilical cord
to Middle Eastern oil (30% of oil imports) and our *making nice* with despotic nations and groups who've declared war on us, we should make ourselves really energy independent.

We can drill off both continental coasts. mine shale oil in the West, pursue coal lliquification, nuclear energy, and the lesser producers like wind and solar (which will never be major major energy sources because of our vast nation and huge numbers, but worth utilizing).

We need to build refineries. We haven't built one since th 70s. We need at least one more major, and probably two would be better, natural gas terminals on the coast.

We need to repeal some so-called environmental law and somehow convince legislators that curbing energy development for 300,000,000 in the name of some idealied version of the US from 1850 or unknown species that is likely plentiful anyway (the spotted oil krap in the NW that virtually killed the US timber industry was actually available in many thousands of places and not quite as fragile a population as the radicals presented) is more important than liberal guilt.

That would be one major way to disconnect us from the Middles East and obligations to people who dislike us to outright hate us.

On the Am. legal front, we should NEVER, like Great Britain, create a two-tierd system where most Ams. are governed and a semi-Shiria court system for dealing with polygamous marriages and dispensing social services to multiple wives with their families.

Savage99
I sincerely hope you are joking when you state that Muslim or sharia law is not that bad. and the notion that freedom and self-expression are not that great! My God, how dangerous is this thought process. this country is built on freedom, not conformity to a irreligious cult called Islam.

Savage99
please tell me you are joking?

perhaps in hindsight, bush made a fatal flaw in toppling saddam. Others have speculated that the saudi's ordered bush not to topple saddam as they wanted a sunni strongman ruling iraq.

The humanitarian reason for toppling the cold blooded butcher saddam, understood amongst many in the west, finds not supporters throughout the muslim world.

Which country in that p[art of the world rules with any sense of enlightenment. But like all tyrants they fear losing their power to their own people. After centuries of ruling by the sword and killing all dissent they know of no other way to rul over their own citizens who they must oppress to stay in power.

The mullahs and the various oil sheiks in their hatred for the west and for what they view as a corrupt and immoral society will one day find that the west tires of threats and blackmail and the murder of it's citizens and uses it's vast arsenal to to defend itself and finish off the killers.

It won't be a pretty sight but sending a cruise missle with a love note attached is a far more effective message than allowing traitors like the mpeanut man run over there to appease the haters

Just what is so bad?
"Muslim law and culture has been virtually unchanged for well over 1000 years."

They also wouldn't have cars, airplanes, running water, flush toilets, or toilet paper if not for the "decadent" west.

"Virtually unchanged" is the definition of stagnant.

"And what is lacking? Merely freedom and individual self-expression. But how are these expressed here in the enlightened secular West? All too often and in ever increasing extent in crime, promiscuity, abortion, drug abuse and vanity."

The biggest problem with freedon and individual self-expression is that the progressives have broken the cultural restraints that would be provided by a community that acknowledges and is allowed to set standards of right and wrong. But indecency can't be censored. Criminals have more rights than those they prey upon.

We too could have a virtually crime-free society if we had a legal code as barbarous as sharia. We could be better than we are, but if the only other choice is the seventh century, I'll take toilet paper.

gay conserv
perhaps those who are willing to accomodate the spread of muslims and their law of sharia need to take a good look at all those the muslims persecute when they gain power.

OPnce the muslims take over they go after every person and every group that is not like them. Even after 1000 years the shia and the sunni can't find peace amongst themselves and they are both adherents of the so called religion of peace.

The shia and sunni will make a temporary truce to fight who they view to be a common enemy but always return to their hatred of those who are not part of their family or their tribe.

The west needs to wake up to the danger and the coming war for the survival of the west

chicken little returns
Gaffney represents an odd chicken little branch that seems to think there is something tough about peeing ones pants about the most unlikely dangers.

It is true that a "muslim expert" who had not particular knowledge of Islam was fired from the state department. But generally the state department expects its expert to actually know something about the subjects they are hired as experts on. That particular firing seems to be a small return to sanity.

And how does dropping terms that anger moderate muslims benefit the evil muslims who would undermine us from within. After all, there goal is to alienate the broader American muslim community from the government.

Currently there is one muslim in the congress. In the unlikely event that he wants to impost Shariaa law on us, he is still more than 200 congressman, 50 senators, and one president short of being able to do so.

So if you are really living in fear of the imposition of shariaa law from within, you are not particularly good at judging risk.

renny
Why do you always forget the tar-sands of Cold Lake (in Alberta, Canada--US' primary NAFTA partner)?

Frank Gaffney...

These people, the islamics among us have no power whatsoever but what our own government is handing over to them.

The world in crisis is caused by governments.
American Government is the most dangerous problem Americans face today, not the puny islamics mong us.
Our Government is supporting their growth, and protecting their deceit.

Savage 99
A true Muslim can never be an American.
The Bill of Rights is anathema to everything mohammed taught and is the heart and soul enemy of islam itself.

You are unaware of their basic beliefs, and should get educated what that is.
islams right to rule the earth, bring all men into subjection to allah, their god.

re: chicken little returns
There is nothing wrong with warning of appeasement and Dhimmitude in this country and it is far from "peeing one's pants". I'll wager many Brits wish someone had warned them in a timely manner. (see "Londonistan" by Melanie Grffith). It's certainly a more palpable danger than the Global Warming hoax of which there seems to be no shortage of chicken littles. The islamists think in the long term and it would be best if we did too. Kind of like geology: time and pressure,no?

Really is being obtuse Lon

Just how many people have died since the 1960's due to islamics?

You know how many countries are at war right now today from islamics?
How many nations across the world that have citizens murdered by islamics?

Bloods and Crips are street gangs.
islamics are global gangs.

Their religion is all about murdering, killing, destroying, and ruling all others.
To be unaware of all this has to be an intentional obtuse friendship to their crimes.

OK Guys
I take it all back. I guess i'd rather live here than Sudan after all. Oneeye convinced me. I was ready to give up borrowing money, freedom, trial by jury of peers, expression of potential, and representative govt, but toilet Paper..NEVER!!!!!

spallava
I'll add the tar sands of Canada. I just have a litany I repeat.

Actually, the US shares the West's shale oil across borders with Canada.

Anorld was just at some meeting where he was bragging about how *green* CA is and how it is an ex. for the rest of the nation.

The lie there is CA still has brownouts and rolling blackouts (that ruin businesses like restaurants who have to maintain refrigeration and home appliances that burn up on brownouts), and doesn't produce enough of its own energy for itself so that it is in hock to surrounding states for energy purchases that are still high and at an enormous cost to CA citizens.

And the US puts itself in the same position as a nation when it doesn't produce most of its own energy and pays other enemy nations and their tyrannies to sell us oil.

Then, if the OPEC people want to be really hardcore, they could at any time lower production, and we could see oil at $150 a barrel ot $200 a barrel. What happens when Iran sets off an atom bomb over Israel? Oil will come to a stop and the US will be lucky to have gas at $20 a gal.

The pols. dither, but our ec. well being, national security, and livelihoods are all in danger.

But there is a point
to the values of Islam, nontheless. Freedom, opportunity, and the reward of merit have made America great, and its been legal immigrants who have provided a constant infusion of guts and self-reliance. But not everybody ascribes to these values. Some that do abuse them to the point of licentiousness. There are many elements of human nature that Islam supports better than the US culture, particularly of today. This is the reason Islam has survived virtually unchanged. I venture to suspect that most American Muslims use toilet paper, sinful as that might be. The strict and restrictive roles for men and women are very onerous for those of free spirit and vast potential, but what per cent of the population is that? 50 per cent of eligible Americans don't even bother to register. How important is representative govt to them? Career criminals are returned to the streets after a figurative wrist slap. Not under Islam. This country needs to drop some of the PC BS and return to solid reality of what works.

The number of people who have died due to the Islamic infiltration of our government is zero. Since that is what Gaffney is talking about, then he is trying to get you to pee your pants over zero deaths. I tend to think there are more serious threats than that one.

US to Double Visas
for Saudi Students. This from an April 10th story on arabnews.com. US Ambassador Ford Fraker told an audience at the Al-Jouf Chamber of Commerce and Industry that he US intends to double the number of student visas issued to Saudis from 15,000 to 30,000 over the next five years.

This extraordinarily stupid policy comes even in the knowledge that 15 of the 19 hijackers on that infamous day were Saudi nationals.

Counterintuitive, yes, but that is part and parcel for this administration. While we prosecute a "war on terror" and spend our blood treasure and exhaust our treasury to make Iraq's borders insolvent, our own remain sieves.

No, it is you who missed his point

For Lon
I quote the main point Frank has made, you missed.
He never said or hinted anyone is dying in the US Government due to islamics.
Where did you gt that idea Lon?

Lon writes:

Frank is actually saying something quite different with this as the main part of his subject:
quote Frank:
Writing about this Brotherhood manifesto in the Dallas Morning News last September, columnist Rod Dreher observed: “The entire 18-page platform outlines a plan for the long haul. It prescribes the Muslim Brotherhood's comprehensive plan to set down roots in civil society. Hardly "peeing" his pants, or am I for understanding his point as correct.

Those who scoff at the ability
of a very few ruthless fanatics to control hundreds of times their number neglect history. The Taliban conquered and ran Afghanistan with 40,000 men. These wolves were outnumbered 200 to 1 by sheep, but prevailed. The Mafia controls vast enterprises by enforcing omerta with death. The DC sniper tied up the law enforcement capability of Virginia, Maryland, DC and the Feds and would still be shooting people except he got ratted out by a perceptive and law-abiding acquaintance. With our complex spectialized economy, a very few people could bring it to a halt. Fortunately, the more damage done to us, the more united and aware the country would become. As soon as a solid majority feels its a problem, solid action would be taken. The Saudis know this. Bin Laden knows this. They are just amusing themselves at poking the sleeping giant. The danger is some numbskull 18 year old might do something really serious and scarey. You know, like take a shot at Grand Duke Ferdinand.

Forget fighting terror abroad,
the research indicates there may be bigger problems in our own backyard!

According to a study released May 22, 2007 by Pew Research Center:

- 7% of U.S. Muslims under 30 indicated favorable view to al Qaeda;

- 26% of U.S. Muslims under 30 answered "Yes" to the pollsters question: "Can Suicide Bombing of Civilian Targets to Defend Islam be Justified?"

- 60% of the Muslim Americans "do not believe Arab men carried out the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."

Think! One in four younger U.S. Muslims say suicide bombings of Civilian Targets to defend their religion are acceptable at least in some circumstances, a poll says.

"It is a hair-raising number," said Radwan Masmoudi, president of the Washington-based Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy, which promotes the compatibility of Islam with democracy.

The goal of the muslim religion
Is the exact opposite of the goal of America.

To allow these people in here and give them free reign to work for islam, is stupid.
Unless one has a reason to allow them in, that they can be used to be a part of an end goal to change something in America.

Then its quite brilliant to use them to be a part of the agenda for this change.

As I said, our Government is the real problem.
Read Marines post.
That is a drop in the bucket of all the islamics coming in.

To invite these people in here and give them protection to teach their religion, is to invite change to the basic foundations of all liberty.
As the muslim religion doe snot nor can it ever respect the 1st Amendment right to freedom of religion for all.

That is the exact opposite of their beliefs, goals and agenda to bring all men under the control of their 7th century "prophet" as was his goal.

Chaos brings the opportunity for change, and the creation of laws to restrict freedom, as that is what law does.

Our Government is America's problem, not islamics.

Take it with a grain of salt . . .
My husband serves in the Army Reserve and a fellow soldier who worked in anti-terror circles stated that he saw a work-up and analysis that shows that the radical Muslims have a decades long plan to take over the world, not necessarily "by force", but from the inside, and that apparently they are happy with how it's going in Europe and that Europe will fall in the next decade or so and we are next.

I understand being "paranoid" is not good and I certainly hope we don't give up our Bill of Rights to "protect" ourselves.

But somehow I don't doubt that what Gaffney wrote and what that soldier told my husband is true. These things pop up all the time on the news.

It's the little things and you brush them off and you claim paranoia, but there is that part of my mind that keeps me vigilant, just in case.

Because just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you.

The Muslim birth rate in Europe, compared to the European birth rate; constant appeasement on PC issues like the following from England - not considering "Three Little Pigs" for an award because it involved pigs and might offend the Muslims; not teaching the Holocaust because it Muslim students claimed it was offensive; The Archbishop of Canterbury considering that the British government should allow a 2 tiered legal system that allows Sharia law.

And we have our own, as well.

What's wrong with proceeding with caution?

Nothing, I say. Nothing at all.

They must know that they can't necessarily win against us militarily, so they go in by the back door. And we let them, to our own demise.

**shakes head**

I find it interesting
that the Somalian Muslim immigrants in my partially subsidized building here in Portland, who are not yet citizens, and speak pigeon English, have an "Obama for Me." poster in their minivan window.

Lon
I think you are talking about Stephen Coughlin who was "fired" from the Pentagon, not State.

Pardon
Pardon me for using insolvent with regard to Iraq's borders, unassailable would have been a good choice, while insolvency would be relevant to the fiscal condition of our government.

Another imbecilic example of governmental madness comes from Minnesota where the public is funding the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy, a K-8 charter school that refuses to fly the US flag while it inculcates its student body in the finer points of Islam.

Asad Zaman, Principal of this educational institution, recently refused the request of a Minneapolis Star Tribune reporter to visit this madrassa or allow her to interview him.

The formal sponsor for this "school" is Islamic Relief USA, the parent of which has been identified as Hamas.

All of this at taxpayer expense, which makes one wonder whatever happened to the so-called "Wall of Separation"?

Renny
I am in complete agreement with you. One problem though...career politicians and environmentalists will squash any attempt to issue permits for new, modern refineries. We have capped wells in Utah and Wyoming, and wells drilled to within meters of large bodies of oil, not tapped because the oil companies would then have to pay a "royalty" to the workers on those drill sites.

It's interesting how the Russians extract oil so close to Alaska, yet America can't. So, while most of americans get nailed at the fuel pumps, the muslim countries and the likes of Hugo make billions and keep their countrymen impoverished, convince them it is America's fault, thus fermenting more hatred.

I have a theory Bush just wants the prices to go up on oil. It pads his family fortune, and then he expects the majority in this country to tell the tree-huggers to get lost when we finally get to the point of walking everywhere because the fuel bill will be out of sight.

One term presidents should be the norm in this country.

Infiltrated already
Ever visited a university campus lately? Import students everywhere, probably attending on their country's tab. I'm glad I graduated in 1993, since most campuses won't allow conceal carries on school grounds these days, and if a democratic congress get's their way, not allowed anywhere. Of course the baddies won't exactly follow the rules when they decide to strike next.

getting older
if you think you experieicned culture shock imagine what I experienced. I returned to my alma mater after some 35 years.

When I attended the university was 95% white but at that time since the university was in a large city and tuition was quite low you could attend school and work part time and pay your way through college

The univeristy now looks like something out of the third world. But the area surrounding the school is a battle zone and crime on the campus is not an unknown occurrance.

They had a picture of the student council and not one member of the student govt was white. Not a big deal but shows that just as white abandoned many cities they have also abandoned the universities that are located in larger cities.

Government created chaos

Asad Zaman, Principal of this educational institution, recently refused the request of a Minneapolis Star Tribune reporter to visit this madrassa or allow her to interview him.

The formal sponsor for this "school" is Islamic Relief USA, the parent of which has been identified as Hamas.

All of this at taxpayer expense, which makes one wonder whatever happened to the so-called "Wall of Separation"?

No one of the Christian Faith is allowed this while receiving taxpayer money, so there already is no equal protection of the law, cause we do not have equal enforcement of the law.

When its so blatant and in your face double standards, its from a policy to be that way, and is what we have from the government.
The true danger to America, and the source every problem arising talked about here on TH.

Take the Border situation for instance, it is not going to get the same protection that this Government gives to Korea on its Northern Border.
Or the protection this Government gives in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Its by policy, created policy to bring about chaos to control Americans, as they do not care what foreign citizens do.
Wake up, our real enemy is this rotten government

In your earlier response to me, you said,
"Just how many people have died since the 1960's due to islamics?"

So I am puzzled as to why you think I am missing the point in responding to what you said.

I know that Gaffney claimed that there is a plot to take over America from within. It is the sequal presumably to the claim from a few decades back in which the Communists were going to do the same thing. Of course that was nonsense. The communists represented an external threat, but communism has no appeal to people with American values, and neither does radical Islam.

It is only the chicken littles who apparently believe that American values are so weak that Americans are constantly in danger of being taken down from within.

The interesting question is why the Gaffneys of the world think so little of democratic values. We had no trouble standing up to the communist threat. But we are supposed to lose to the Islamic one?

So yes peeing your pants is about right.

Savage99 - 1
You give voice to a common pattern of thought that mistakes an enforced order for improved virtue or decorum in people. But the problem with that concept is that the enforcement actually discourages virtue, and encourages prevarication, deception, and legalism.

If you can accept an Islam that executes Saudi women for adultery, but defines marriage so that men can marry and divorce "weekend wives" when they're out of the country -- if you can call that a method of promoting virtue, and eliminating "adultery," well, I can't. That is not a form of societal "stability" worth selling one's freedom for. Nor is honor killing of women, by their brothers and fathers who are free to watch raunchy Asian porn and use "controlled substances," as long as they do it outside the country.

The unique value of Western freedom is that it REWARDS a moral life, not that it seeks to enforce one. Almost no societies or forms of government in man's history have systematically rewarded character, integrity, hard work, and commitment to family the way the modern West does. The history of every people has its Britney Spears -- it's the average Joe and Jane, who can thrive, raise children, and leave a modest legacy without having it raped repeatedly by armed authorties or partisans, who are an unusual breed.

Akagi
Thanks for the correction. I should have looked it up since the correct job is mentioned in the article above. You are right that should have been the pentagon.

Savage99 - 2
Too many Americans forget that. Our immigrant ancestors didn't come to America for the freedom to divorce, wear short skirts, have casual sex, or be gay. They came here for religious freedom, and the economic opportunity to raise families and build very conventional lives, around traditional marriage and community. Britney Spears is not the poster girl for Western freedom. Every society has irresponsible young people; societies just deal with them differently. In Saudi Arabia Britney would already be dead. You can call that virtue if you like.

The impulse to admire enforced orders is a strong one, but enforced orders are a chimera. They are sclerotic and dysfunctional. We MUST notice that Islam produces jihadists while Western liberalism doesn't. The great virtue of Western liberalism, particularly in America, is that it does not interfere with a man's or woman's choice to live a righteous and sober life, and reap the natural benefits of doing so. Consult history if you don't understand how rare that has been, across the millennia of human societies.

Who is it that has allowed this?
Frank writes:
" Even Americans knowledgeable about Europe’s growing accommodation to the totalitarian ideology known alternatively as Islamism, jihadism or Islamofascism tend smugly to believe the same thing can’t happen here."

The Governments of the European Nations, thats who.

The islamics could never grow in numbers to cause any more trouble than a pissant, if the Government was not into creating such a problem.

Same here
Our Government is the most corrupt organization in the world today.

The left romanticizes about pathology
of all sorts. It is evident in our lack of sane immigration policies, the education system, as well as our corrections, health care, and social welfare systems- any leftist influenced/managed endeavor. The undergirding bending of reality includes the notions that all values are different but equal in validity; and that if people are properly understood and communicated with, we can all just happily coexist.

Today I was coaching yet another teacher, who was aglow with good intentions, on the fact that setting limits and boundaries with her students isn't "mean" or "negative". It seems a few students "act out" and won't do their work if they don't feel "nurtured". One boy insists upon doing his work only on one of the classroom computers while wearing a broad-brimmed sombrero. The teacher saw no problem in accommodating him "if he'd do his work". This is an example of what has become normal- appeasement of the absurd to avoid backlash. Leftists NEVER look at the reality of the bigger picture, and do not factor in the insatiable appetites of appeased tyrants, whether they are individuals, groups, or countries.

BTW- Mr.Sombrero and I had a conversation about his skewed views on entitlement- that he does not "get something" for doing what he ought to do, as its not special and neither is he in the corrupt way he has applied individuality.

"It is only the chicken littles who apparently believe that American values are so weak that Americans are constantly in danger of being taken down from within"

American values are appallingly weak, Lon. All but gone, I'd say. There are many more government dependent victims and parasites than when I started in my field 25 years ago. Too many Americans confuse liberty with license, and abdicate responsibilty when confronted with results of their behaviors. I never thought I'd see the day when students are given preferential treatment and accommodation for horrendous (and often clinically antisocial) behaviors- I see it each day. Never thought I'd see the day when entire welfare "families" would breed hap-hazardly, drive around in leased Lexuses, and spend their days getting free meals at schools (year round) and fighting with each other about who dissed whom. I see that each day. I never thought I'd see the day when people voted (not even knowing issues outside of their own appetites) for the person they believe will give them more of other people's earnings so that they themselves don't have to change- that day is here.

We are so ready to go down from within its terrifying. I believe the terms for policies that will hasten our demise is are "change" and "hope".

In counseling we call it "raising the bottom" or "prescribing the symptom" as an intervention. A D for POTUS fits that bill. However, based upon the odd fervor I've seen swirling around Barack Obama, my concern is that the Sh!+ will indeed hit the fan in the form of the LBJ policies of Obama (nothing "new" there) implemented on a grand scale. Of course, most of us will end up living exactly as many of our "poor" do now, and feeling quite depsperate as a result. The liberal "solution" will be to capitulate to a world government and move toward a global communism. That's the liberal way- if it (whatever it is) doesn't work, its because EVERYONE isn't participating and there isn't enough money. I'm pretty sure we're done for as far as the US we used to know goes.

I wonder why this subject causes
Some to come and pee their pants over?

I mean there is nothing in Franks Column to bring about such a reaction from Lon, especially.

Frank has given some good information about a religious group that is causing murder and mayhem all over the world today, and some just pee in their pants cause Franks talks about it here.

Guess they are just chicken littles who come and pizz and moan about an article like Franks.
And pee all over themselves worrying about just talking to one another concerning this issue, as Frank has done with such information as this.

quote:

When I worked in facility corrections many years ago (late 80's, early 90's), there were Islamic clerics coming into the prison (Northern State in Newark, NJ and some county lock-ups) fo the specific purpose of recruiting for "the great war". None of us cared; they kept some of the inmates busy and and focused on something other than their incessant victimhood of being held responsible for their crimes.

I remember thinking that a "great war" with people who run around in night gowns would be an event for the Theater of the Absurd. Chicken little did I know!!

Savage99
Having read your comments often, I was pretty sure you value liberty for the right reasons. There are people, though, who do mistake the order enforced by Islam for moral safety, and it's important to make the case over and over that the remedy for immoral disorder is not flawed human enforcement of "codes," but individual self-discipline and character.

Western liberty is unique in minimizing the OBSTACLES to that, which have been routinely raised by autocrats and political movements across time. Graft, tribute, punitive taxation, influence-peddling, nepotism, revenge pathologies -- all the societal discouragements we consider unethical and horrifying, in the modern West, have been ops normal for 99% of the world and its comprehensive history. Those phenomena not only thrive but prevail everywhere -- except the places ruled by Western liberalism. They prevail under Islam; they prevail under Marxism; they prevailed in Europe for centuries, since the Greek and Roman eras; they have prevailed in China under both Confucianism and Marxism; they prevailed in the pre-Christian American civilizations; they prevailed in ancient Africa and in its modern-day nations.

In Western liberal societies, they happen -- but they don't prevail. We decry them, fight them, and overcome them.

We have no idea how blessed we are, to simply be able to choose good lives and reap rewards for them. So many people in the world can't -- many of them living under Islam. God help us if we ever give up the liberty we have, that has been bought with so much blood and sacrifice.

As for pants peeing, Lon

I have to admit that I know very little about islam. Therefore, I have nothing to say about islamic theology. But I have noticed one extraordinary thing when it come to the muslim faith. There is no other religious system on earth that is more intolerant of other religions. Just try to take a Bible with you to Saudi Arabia and see what happens to you.

oldsocialworker
Your comments are always wonderfully insightful. The only thing I would disagree with you on in this thread is the strength of our societal values. The values are strong, and compelling -- much stronger than the vengeful ideas of Islam. It's the people who have become weak, because of being shielded, largely through government programs, from the disciplines of filial obedience, self-reliance, and accountability.

You wisely distinguish between liberty and license -- and license is NOT a Western or American "value." I would not defend license with a postage stamp, much less my life. License is not something we prize in the West; it is merely something we don't punish with incarceration, dismemberment, or death.

Personal liberty, properly defined, IS a stronger ideal and a better aspiration than the closed-loop sclerosis of Islam. I must thank you for the part you play in manning its ramparts among some of the weakest of our societal links.

Mr M Coupe
Indeed. Islam makes a virtue of intolerance. When people are lost enough, they can mistake that posture for the kind of moral supervision and certainty that have been lacking in their lives.

As oldsocialworker's posts emphasize, we in America have done a very poor job of arming many of our young people, spiritually and intellectually, to see through the false promises of intolerance.

Missing on jihad
Gaffney and others are correct to call attention to the inroads being made in establishing sharia law peacefully but they need to give up the idea that the government is 'giving in' by saying we should not call the enemy jihadists. Although we use it as a perjorative here in the West, to them it means they are fulfilling their goals, and doing what they should. It is tantamount to Arabs calling us patriots and thinking we will be offended.
What they are is murderous criminals, apostates, unlearned corrupters of Islam, not its defenders. They are cowardly old women, hiding in holes. They are weak children shouting death until turned on, and then wetting and running away. They are lootees who prostrate themselves to the West in order to hide, hoping to scratch at the heels of free men before being crushed.
If we think Islamo-Jihado-Fascisto will upset or dissuade them, we are not doing our homework.

I have studied religion in depth

The fruits of islam is oppression, murder, rape and robbery.

You know, I recently counseled a 17 year old girl who thought it would be "culturally insensitive" to NOT have sex with her boyfriend's brother who was visiting from Ecuador, since her lovely illegal boyfriend asked her to. History, Biblical and secular, support your words. So do I.

Where many are convinced
islam is not as I just said, it from some personal knowing of an individual muslim.

Who most likely is a decent and kind person.
But that very person places his faith above all other values if he is a true muslim.
And when and if his imam calls for war, or the cowardly attacks on unsuspecting and unarmed citizens, he will obey that call.

Some may not, but the facts are, enough will to be a major problem.

So why has out government imported so many into America already and bringing more every day?
Plus leave our border open for any in the world to walk right in who also have many here they are in contact with to give them aide.

Appears to me, out government wants the problems and will prosecute America Citizens in any way that offends a muslim, all the while the Christian Faith is open for any insult or offense.

Count me as a nut if you think otherwise, but I have good sources to know this is exactly what is happening to America today.
Its being done to bring some world wide changes, and all we hear going on about global this and that is part of the intended chaos.

From finance to fuel
From global trade to global "warming".

I will say it plainly, I believe our own government intends to cause all these problems, and do it all on purpose from an agenda they have.
Not all in government, just the many who hold some position of power, including the President himself.
He has already proven he is a globalist and not an American to me and many others.

Just one of the 360 gods the ancient arabs worshipped.
allah was well known to all in arabia long before mohammed.

Its the reason the arabs never asked mohammed....who is this allah?
They knew him already as just one of the gods the heathen arabs worshiped.
Some of those gods the arabs believed in required child sacrifice, as we see still alive among the arabs who will send children to their death for the glory of allah.

But at least you are not worried that the sky is falling.

This has been one of the funnier threads I have seen, but it really is depressing the way Gaffney plays on people's bitterness (to use Obama's term). The odds that we will be taken over from within, Gaffney's fantasy above, is perhaps only slightly less likely than that we will be taken over by space aliens from within.

This is a predominantly christian nation. Those who are not christian tend not to be consistent with Islamic values. It is hard to imagine any values less American than Islamic ones.

Communism did damage outside of the US, but it never had more than negligable popularity within. I made that point before, and you pretended you were answering me but pointing to the damage by force from without.

Why is Gaffney's argument worrisome? Because while we are at no risk of being overtaken by Islam from within, we are at danger of compromising our democratic values in response to the Islamic boogeyman scare tactics. We already have an administration which is not troubled by lying in court cases, of creating patently absurd justifications for torture to create legal cover for illegal actions. (And a willingness to throw enlisted men under the bus in order to protect the people who actually made the decisions).

The problem is that we have people like Gaffney, who is afraid of an Islamic insurgency because he really seems not to have any belief in democratic values, getting people to cheer at stupidity. That is what this column is about. And it deserves to be mocked. Nobody should confuse Gaffney's columns for anything but unamerican scare tactics. The reason Islam has survived is because its laws include aposty, in which you are born into the tribe and cannot take yourself out of it, or you may legally be killed for doing so. It has survived because it is a crime to question any single verse in the Qur'an; it is the everlasting and never changing word of Allah Himself. It can, and usually is, considered a crime to NOT defend Islam's prophet, thus here in Pakistan when a neighbor asks you to join him at a demonstration/protest/riot against Denmark for allowing blasphemous cartoons of the prophet Mohammed, and you say No, you will be accused of being unwilling to defend the prophet and you may be killed at worst, shunned by your family and friends at best. It has survived because of literally hundreds of verses in the Qur'an that are put into Muslim children's brains at the youngest age that the tribe of Islam (the Ummah) is your family and more important than your blood relatives or your country or your nationality, and the Ummah must stick together and be defended against the "infidels," unbelievers whom Allah has cursed and are considered less than fully human until they have "submitted" to Islam and are part of the ummah. It's a tribal mentality seared into their brains - us against them - and this is never going to change. Allah's word is everlasting and unchanging. Educate yourselves about this cancer we must deal with.

Islamophobia - An Indian Perspective

Talk Demographics, Too
When we talk of the Muslim "takeover" in Europe, we also need to discuss birth rates of immigrant Muslims vs native Europeans. Old Europe is dying out by attrition and Muslims are only too ready to repopulate and fill the void. They won't have to terrorize Europe into Sharia Law submission. They just need to take advantage of European accommodation and political correctness, have babies and wait until they're the voting majority. America needs to pay attention. Right now, our birthrate is better than the slouchers in Europe but that's because our illegals are pumping up the birthrate numbers.

It is doubtful that our PC-brainwashed "leaders" will muster the cohones in time to prevent the insidious Sharia enemies from burrowing into the foundations of our society and destroying it from within. We read about evidence of this destruction happening on almost a daily basis in Britain and Europe.

The liberal inane tolerance of other cultures' belief systems is gradually eroding our foundations just as the atheists and agnostics insist our enlightened civilization does not need Christianity any more.

The paradigm for the West is the actions of the Spanish people, led by the Christian Church, who threw out the Muslims from Spain around 1492. The clock is running out on possibly the last years of western Christian civilization.

To really fight a war you destroy your enemy and that means stop all immigration from Muslim countries and kill these jihadist fanatics before they kill us.

Why do you think the Muslims have migrated across the western world if not to instill Whabais Sharia law as time permits. Apparently, Osama and associates think the time is right. We should quit coddling these "death to the infidles" jihadists.

All fantasy.
Americans will never give up their identity to invaders. The Muslims have about as much of a chance of gaining serious influence in American politics as do the Mexican reconquistas.

The next thing the alarmists will be saying is that we have three presidential candidates who all favor open borders amnesty. Americans would no more tolerate such an event than they would tolerate the emergence of pro-Shariah entities within our borders.

The fox and the snake....
The fox stopped at the river bank before swimming across. From the grass slithered a rattle snake who asked the fox to let him ride on his back across the river. It was too far for him to swim, declared the snake, and he really needed to get across the river.

The fox, thinking he was wise, refused. He told the snake that he knew that the snake would bite and kill him. The snake vehemently denied that he would harm the fox, who eventually agreed to give the snake a lift across.

So the snake climbed on the fox's back, and off they went. As the fox was climbing up the bank on the far side, the snake bit him fiercly. The fox fell to the ground, and as his life started to drift away, he accused the snake of lying.

To which the snake replied, "Hey, you knew I was a snake all along."

Your story about your crowbar, and the teenager who thought it would be culturally insensitive not to let her boyfriend loan her out, reminds me of the Englishman in India during the colonial era, who was confronted with the practice of suttee (burning the wife on the husband's funeral pyre).

Indians explained to the English officer that it was their custom to do this. The English officer replied, "I see. And we too have a custom, which is to hang men who kill a woman. You follow your custom, and we will follow ours."

Many people think this is all about oil or Israel or our presence in the middle east. That has nothing to do with it. This idea that the nefarious President Bush is somehow pulling the strings of a vast spiderweb of international control and intrigue is the most anti-intellectual concept that I routinely hear intellectuals spout. Its every bit as silly as the Grand Global Jewish Conspiracy theory.

But some folks let their antipathies rule their intellects.

islam does NOT belong in the USA
part 1
I just finished reading your article about Amerabia and I whole heartedly agree with you that the USA is presently in submission to islam and has been for some time now. It is a very disturbing turn in our nation's history. But, I do believe that it all began with the political correctness movement that began in the 1960's to prepare our nation for this islamic movement to change our country.

As I read your article I was hoping to see mention of the self-exciled Turk, Fethullah Gulen. He is living in the USA and has opened "schools" or better yet called, "madressas" for the education of youth in the religion of islam. In fact he has opened schools all over the world for this purpose. AND he is awaiting the perfect time when he will return to Turkey when it is a totally islamic country!

My friends in Izmir, Turkey are so concerned about this Fethullah Gulen. They know he is wealthy and has a huge backing financially and politically and they have tried to warn me to warn my fellow Americans about this man. He is dangerous to the peace of the world........of course in addition to all the groups which you have noted in your article posted today at Townhall and Washington Times.

islam does not belong in the USA
part 2
I have written to Rep. Sue Myrick and praised her efforts........IF ONLY these efforts would have been taken long ago. Certainly I hope and pray that we are not too late in our fight to maintain the Judeo-Christian values upon which our nation was founded.

Lately I say......"if you don't like my country, then leave and go back to Iran and Saudi Arabia or whatever islamic country from which you came". I am sick and tired of having THEM change my country and its customs and way of life to suit their needs. The latest example of our lack of backbone is the caving in of Kentucky Fried Chicken.......they are going to now be making HALAL food to appease the islamists demands! McDonalds is not far behind in this change!

Thank you for your sense of patriotic duty to keep the United States of America free from islamic dimminitude!!

ME MUSLIM
Will you be speaking at the Nut Case Convention this year? I sure hope so. Rush can be here but he wanted to know you and/or Dick Chaney would be there. Bucky Beaver will be there to sign autographs and demonstrate tree chewing. YOur and idiot.

Cheers.
