General Electric and Shareholders Clash over Tea Parties and Politics

Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

In a twist of irony, the historically conservative General Electric, the company that rebuilt the career of Ronald Reagan and sent him from city to city in the late '50s and early '60s, has become the corporate holding company of some of the most fringe left-wing politics on television.

This transformation has GE shareholders, such as us, spitting mad. It all boiled over at the annual shareholders meeting in Orlando. The usually boring annual meeting was the sight of NBC unit chief Jeff Zucker and CEO Jeffrey Immelt being pelted with questions they refused to adequately answer.

The Hollywood Reporter captured the action this way: "First up was a woman asking about a reported meeting in which [chief executive Jeffrey] Immelt and NBC Unit CEO Jeff Zucker supposedly told top CNBC executives and talent to be less critical of President Obama and his policies. Immelt acknowledged a meeting took place but said no one at CNBC was told what to say or not to say about politics. During the woman's follow-up question, her microphone was apparently cut off."

Here is the inside story at CNBC, the cable channel dedicated to business coverage, which actually sparked the entire national tea party movement when veteran Chicago reporter Rick Santelli called on Americans to protest Obama's plans to have taxpayers pick up the mortgage bills of irresponsible borrowers. Santelli's rant became a YouTube smash hit, and the citizen movement grew rapidly from there. Corporate executives like Zucker, who relish close ties to Obama, want this stopped.

But the discussion didn't end. Jesse Waters, the expert ambush producer who travels the country for Fox News ratings king Bill O'Reilly, had been sent to cover the GE annual meeting.

The Hollywood Reporter continues: "A short time later, Waters asked a question and his mic was cut, too. 'The crowd was very upset with MSNBC because of its leftward tilt,' one attendee said. 'Some former employees said they were embarrassed by it.' When he got the floor, Waters focused his question about MSNBC on Olbermann's interview of actress Janeane Garofalo, who likened conservatives to racists and spoke of 'the limbic brain inside a right-winger.'

'He [Waters] was complaining that Olbermann didn't bother to challenge her,' another GE shareholder said. Immelt told the assembled he takes a hands-off approach to what is reported on the company's news networks, which prompted a shareholder to criticize him for not managing NBC Unit more effectively."

If you watched MSNBC on April 15 you heard David Shuster and Rachel Maddow ramble on like adolescents about "teabagging," their derogatory term for the tea parties. Slandering these protests and attacking them for being "Astroturf," MSNBC never bothered to attempt to understand what the tea parties were really about.

If the GE-owned media were truly impartial, rather than mocking and attacking the tea parties and their participants as lap dogs for "Corporate America," they would actually interview participants and report what they were protesting.

These protests were not a production of Fox News or Newt Gingrich, as MSNBC alleged. The vast majority of tea parties were organized and sponsored by independent individuals across the country. Best estimates of the largest anti-tax protest in American history calculate more than 1,000 events took place and more than one million people participated.

In our home state we had dozens of parties; the biggest in the capital city, Olympia, drew more than 5,000 people. We did interview participants and we found they are tired of America's massive government wasting money. Nobody from Fox News was there; instead we found hard-working Americans who took time off from work to voice frustration in the hope they could be heard.

Another attack was MSNBC's attempt to marginalize the tea parties by suggesting the attendees actually benefitted from Obama's "tax cut," but were too dumb to realize it. Never mind that Obama's tax cut was a whopping $13 a week falling to $8 a week in January. And it can hardly be called a tax cut when the majority of the people who receive it don't pay income taxes. Add to the distortion that Obama violated his campaign promise by raising taxes on cigarette smokers and he wants new taxes on energy sources to curb "greenhouse gases."

The original tea party in Boston, which helped spark our revolution, was about time-honored principles that have served America well. The original patriots were also opposing a tyrant seeking to tamper with their freedom through an intrusive government.

Ms Kelly: A salute across the aisle
We probably didn't move each other's position a bit but at least we found a civil base to disagree.
Thank you!
Now, I call that progress - were it not for the dangereous allusion to "progressive". Actually, I do cherish some very conservative assets, such as good manners and, as you graciously found out, humour. So, let us settle on that civil discourse can be both conservative and progressive.
As regards GE, you might have to admit that they have pretty good medical devices, and most of the alternatives are - horribile dictu - European.
Cheers!

MSNBC does have a liberal slant , and only a fool or a liar would deny that Fox is not conservative in its bias. Fox as well as certain right wing groups organized and supported the Tea Parties. By the way Floyd and Mary Beth the original Boston Tea party was as much about the colonies trying to avoid paying theier fair share of taxes as the mobern tea party is about the rich today avoiding their fair share of taxes. It seems some things never chabge.
=====================

You are so full of ka,ka it's dripping out of all your orifices.

I warned folks from the beginning how tying these (almost first time ever to get conservatives to openly) protest the government of the nation they are sworn to preserve, to anything having to do with taxes (April 15th, Boston Tea Party, etc. etc.) was going to leave all you left wing pinkos wiggle room just as we see you doing above.

These protests were/are about liberalism successfully, for the first time in this nations history, being about to destroy this nation from within.

We all know the liberalism we are witnessing today has long been the predicted death of these UNITED STATES of AMERICA.

This was the protest. The taxes will be paid by our children and grandchildren.

"T", I believe you're right. Keith O.& Chris "twitching leg" M. seem like they'd be more interested in seeing a Broadway Musical, doing some interior decorating, or shopping for purses. Then again, most "males" that support that party, prefer the same activities.

If it wasn't for Oreally's paid political prostitutes like Floyd and Mary Beth Brown, we wouldn't have to endure yet another Olbercum vs. Papa Bear's sandbox snot fest.

I don't think we have to worry about Keith O and MSNBC..He's too much of a twinkletoes to
have anything to do with any manly sport. It might cause him to break a fingernail.

I was wondering if I'd hear something about
what I said regarding the Packers. I love the Packers, just don't like Thompson and the way he treated Brett and lied. After all the years of fun Brett gave us, it was a rotten way to treat him. But we see the same slimy treatment in our government, especially this administration and Congress. I'm a transplant
from N.E. so while the Packers are my team now, I still love the Celtics.

Fluorescent bulbs and mercury...
Scrap Iron wrote:

The light bulbs are Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs. CFLs contain mercury. If a florescent bulb breaks, the proper way to clean it (remediation) can cost over $2000 for all facets of remediation.

You are absolutely correct, CFL do contain Mercury.. AS DO ALL FLUORESCENT BULBS.

Read that again.

All fluorescent bulbs contain mercury!

When cleaning up a broken fluorescent tube, you really should use the same technique as cleaning up a broken CFL, but no one does.

No one is afraid to have fluorescent tubes in their home, nor are they afraid to go into buildings where these tubes are in use.. ie, the grocery store, the mall, church, school, the office...

Some info from Wikipedia:

* Like all fluorescent lamps, CFLs contain mercury, which complicates their disposal.

* Conventional tubular fluorescent lamps have been in commercial and domestic use since the 1930s with little public concern about their handling; these and other domestic products often contain more mercury than modern CFLs

* CFLs contain small amounts of mercury as vapor inside the glass tubing, averaging 4.0 mg per bulb.

* In areas powered by coal, CFLs end up saving on mercury emissions versus incandescent bulbs, due to the offset power use (coal releases mercury as it is burned).

* In the United States, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimated that if all 270 million compact fluorescent lamps sold in 2007 were sent to landfill sites, that this would represent around 0.13 tons, or 0.1% of all U.S. emissions of mercury (around 104 tons) that year.

As for GE part in spreading the use of CFLs:

* The modern CFL was invented by Ed Hammer, an engineer with General Electric, in response to the 1973 oil crisis. While it met its design goals, it would have cost GE about US$25 million to build new factories to produce them and the invention was shelved.

Yes, I read under fluorescent lamps, I do it all the time. I work in an office!

I didn't know that NBC/Universal had bought the weather channel. Thanks for pointing that connection out to me.

I stopped watching the Weather Channel several years ago. At some point, TWC threw in full with the AGW side of the debate. After that, it was as though they were on a jihad, with "Dr." Heidi Cullen as their lead mullah, or is that 'mullett'?

Vote Out Hurting GE With Your Wallet !

Americans Vote Their Wallets and Vote WITH Their Wallets.

GE, which has a stake in almost every sector of the economy, from light bulbs and credit cards to windmills, on Friday reported net income of $2.74 billion, or 26 cents per share, after paying preferred dividends. That was down from $4.30 billion, or 43 cents per share, a year earlier.

GE is vulnerable and doesn't want Their Boat Rocked.

Pretty scarey stuff in America...
If what O'Reilly is offering comes to pass, this perverted relationship between NObamaElMessiah, GE, and NBC could actually cruble one of this nations largest corporations, largest media sources, and make the NObama Presidentcy a bigger disgrace than Richard Nixon's second term in office turned out to be.

GE used money, and media power to install a man into the White House who is so corrupt he plans on paying said corporation back with BILLIONS of tax payers dollars????

How sick is this America??

I sure wouldn't "teabag" the oinker!!
Seriously, how hard up would any straight male have to be to get caught "teabagging" this butt ugly butch Jenny Giraffalo?? Or whatever this stand up comedian commie cow's name is??

I dumped my GE when
Welch left. Big business has taken sides in the culture war and I don't want my investments tied to who wins an election every two years. If their business model is tied to government subsides I don't want anything to do with it.

G.E. Part of the Problem
G.E. is one to really say anything. They are in cahoots with this global yakity, yakity thing about saving energy.
The ugly little flouresent lighting they are trying to push on us wasn't working and they had invested millions in overseas China plants to produce the ugly ducklings. So they began to appeal to the government to make it a LAW that we have to use 'em. It's about money for these big companies who made something so horrible looking and nobody was buying.
Mothers, you're going to love these little ugly ducklings in your beautiful chandeliers and special lighting under your counters. And Churches! Wow! those beautiful many lamped chandeliers of gold plate, brass and bronze will really be offset by the curly cule worms especially if the chandelier caonstain 15 or 20 bulbs.
But here is the kicker! When all of us are forced to use these energy saving bulbs tha means less revenue to the power companies who in turn witll be losing money and in order to compensate will raise your utility rates
Plus all these little uglies are made in China exclusively.

"Browns"??
What on Earth is a "Brown"? Is that supposed to be us? I don't get it.

Combine NBC News, MSNBC and MSNBC.com with Weather Channel, CNBC and Telemundo and profits news generates for NBC Universal jumps to $775 million -- or about 25% of the GE subsidiary's total profits.

johninoregon and luna (aka loony)
Whatever you need to tell yourself "john". I think you'll find the next four years most unpleasant.

"luna"

What? As a news organization, NBC declined rapidly after Tim Russert died. The fact that you swill their koolaid like a drunken Jim Jones devotee tells us all we need to know about you.

Personally, I have no problem with "renewable energy". However, the metric by which it's utility must be judged is economic viability. Without that, in a market-based economy like we enjoy in the U.S., you have no argument. My idea of "economic viability" does not include creating an artificial economy to support goofy eco pipe dreams. Cap and Shirade is a scam. AGW is poorly researched, poorly modeled, unscientific hogwash.

Al you said...
MSNBC makes dollars
No story here! MSNBC makes dollars for GE! Case closes???

NBC is losing money. And I wonder how many taxpayer $$ pay for those Green commercials? (indirectly counts). Its all one big dysfunctional family.

Tea Parties
Actually, Rick Santelli did not start the tea party movement,he did gave it more publicity for sure.
Many people on the internet who tried to stop the outrageous spending by the President and his lapdogs in the spendulus bill were so frustrated that NO ONE in Washington were listening. They didn't listen when the bailouts started last October. A vast majority of Americans were against those bailouts. Everything just came to a boiling point.
I kept hearing on the blogs, I am calling, e-mailing,faxing to my elected officials and Washington and they continue to ignore the people they are supposed to represent.
These very people will hear Americans in 2010.
There is a growing movement in this Country about the out of control spending.
I am sick and tired of BO trashing American when he travels overseas.
He got where he is today, because America is full of opportunities.
BO hates American the way it is and is bound and determined to spread the wealth around. He looks more like Jimmy Carter everyday and that is NOT good for the America I love.

When big media
like NBC colludes with the Democratic Party that is currently in power (not to mention that NBC did everything it could to help Obama get elected), Americans should really pay close attention. This is the kind of "banana republic type" corruption that journalists used to write and report about when there was honesty and integrity in the media; thereby maintaining the type of checks and balance needed in order to make corrupt media and politicians accountable. What next?

Scrap Iron..
CFLs do have mercury, yes. The chance of one breaking? T-8 bulbs are fragile and in offices eveyrwhere. And yet the average american corporate drone spends all his 9-5 under them. Its alarmist to worry about an Ikea bulb. They are hard to break. Get rid of them properly when they wear out.

The $2000 price are the same people that scrape old sprayed-on ceilings and tell you its full of asbestos (because they analize the outer surface where it settles). Its a great way to make money. Happen to be very embedded in the construction world (architecture-build firm)...

Conservatism also means being efficient and conserving when its truly pragmatic. Otherwise we wouldn't be freaking on the BO budget here.

CNBC...
Funny enough, The one other place that has admitted this issue aside from the Annual Meeting, has been CNBC. Probably why they were asked to "change" their tone. There were changes in personnel, including a token Dem in the morning. Unfortunately, he is like a skeet shoot target most mornings and gets it handed to him.

Immelt needs Windmills. They run commercials galore espousing the "green" tech, including the elusive "clean-coal." Zucker is Hollywood, that's a whole other blog.

Speaking of Blog(o)...If we need any more proof of strange bedfellows...Blago on a Zany Reality Show trying to get off a tropical island with other (washed up) celebs. How can we send him off to jail after his "wacky" adventures on Fantasy Island? Oh wait, FI is in DC...

Luna(tic), no one 'hates' GE. They do not like the way its be run, or ruined. Buy all you want, but the truth is GE and NBC are losing money. THey lost money on the Superbowl. I don't watch either because of KO. I am sure a silent majority agree. True democracy.

Does the Lib Dictionary have any more verbs in it than love or hate?

Luna
The light bulbs are Compact Flourescent Lightbulbs. CFLs contain mercury. If a floourescent bulb breaks, the proper way to clean it (remediation) can cost over $2000 for all facets of remediation.
I use CFLs in difficult-to-replace locations. The do last longer than incandescent bulbs, but cost up to 5 times as much, therefore, use in little used, dificult to replace locations is bst. Also, the light quality sucks. Ever read bt flourescent light? Yuck.

Jeffrey Immelt = James Taggart ??
For those who have not read Atlas Shrugged, James Taggart was a railroad executive who believed in making profits by exchanging displays of public goodwill for government favors, as opposed to say, running a railroad!

I dug up this little gem from the past:

"...Like James Taggart, the villain in Ayn Rand’s classic Atlas Shrugged, Immelt will discover that relying on government favors and appealing to “the social good” is the path to destroy both his business and capitalism – leaving everyone in the dark. "

I am going to run out and buy all new GE Major Appliances!

Every gift I give this year is going to be a GE product.

If I have a choice between GE and another product, I will aways chose GE...

All my TV and radios will be tuned to NBC affiliate channels/stations.

Didn't I read somewhere that GE is the largest maker of wind turbines in the US?

The article that started this thread couldn't have anything to do with an opposition to renewable energy, or the desire to DRILL BABY DRILL, could it?

Wishing an American company to fail is bad but working at it, doing everything in your power to see it fail is down right unpatriotic... UN-AMERICAN!

Why do you hate America?

Augo
Glad to see you have a sense of humor, and I know what you mean about browser problems and using TH. I have difficulty with it all the time.

And yes, everything was okay with GE as long as they were good conservatives.

Actually, they went to pot a long time ago. Their appliances are total junk now and have been for about 20 years. Give me Farberware any day of the week.

My point is, in a free country everyone has the right to support the companies and the policies that reflect their own values. I certainly am not going to support a company that promotes values I find objectionable, and I would not expect you to either, even though your values are probably different from my own. Those are our rights as free Americans and there’s nothing wrong with it.

Scrap Iron, Russ & Lol1
I agree with your calls for a clear separation of news and opinion, and no insults. Funny thing is, when I try to be informed not only by Olbermann or Maddow, the alternative, "Fair and Balanced" has made an art out of insulting. How often politics they do not like is called "anti-American", an "insult to America", "socialist" etc. I take particular offence at calling "socialist" what is only a repair shop for failed capitalism, i.e. let's privatize profits and socialize the losses. It is an insult to the memory of socialism, RIP. ;-)
As regards posters on Townhall, just read Jeff's recent post, and you know what I mean. There are many more Jeffs here and in other threads. But then Jeff and others are only victims of the liberal-socialist MSM, aren't they?
Incidentally, I do not find any comfort in the fact that GE or any other big corporation is exercising its influence on government for liberal or any other policies, or vice versa.
But then, I also think that there should be a clear separation of ownership and journalism.
Therefore, no, I don't think you should exert pressure on Zucker & Immelt to exert pressure on their journalist. Just don't switch on whatever channel you don't like. They will lose viewers and lose revenue. Isn't that the way free people exercise their rights in a free country and a market economy?
But then be aware of someone like Rupert Murdoch, the owner of "Fair and Balanced"; by calling the shots on his media outlets he supports conservatives in the U.S. (for the time being), the People's Republic in China, and the Labour government (not any more) in Britain. As winds change, so does Rupert. Labour was going to win in 1997, he switched editorial support to Tony Blair. Cameron is going to win next year? He switches to Cameron. You might wonder when Fox is going to support the Obama administration.
Why don't the Browns raise hell on Rupert?

Much like...
Much like Krupp, Messerschmidt and Porsche, GE is the present day corporate entity that will try to please OUR Fuhrer.
In GEs case they can also handle the job of Obamas NSDAP with Jeffrey Immelt playing the role of Joseph Goebbels.

The address at the "Rock" is the new Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.

Ms Kelly: "Libtards"
Oh come on, of course I know that they did not call for a fairness doctrine. I therefore chose deliberately the wording "Do I hear ...". I did NOT write "The Browns said ..." I am deeply sorry you chose to be offended by my taunt.
My point is, everything with GE was o.k. as long as they were good conservatives, wasn't it?
NB. Thanks for the grammar education. My lame excuse: I got a browser problem with Townhall. It took me about five or six times to get the post on. I had corrected for the question mark but then I had to paste things in, again and again, and the error crept in. As you can see, my post appeared twice, and I got it at least once right....
But that is the problem with the libtards: They twist everything and cant't even handle a browser! Holy incompetence, you are called liberalism! (Incidentally, that's not quite true, I am an impertinent mealy-mouthed European socialist, fascist and islamophile, grrrrr!)

General Electric
I have been a stock holder with General Electric for years. This was once a great company; but their greed help their demise. I can hardly wait for the stock to go back up so I can cash out.

Johninoregon
So you think conservatives are too dumb to just accept the $400 dollars and be grateful huh? Think about it this way. Will that $400 pay college tuition for you children and grandchildren? You better hope so because THEY are the ones that are gonna pay for this $400 for everyone you support. Now remind us again who's too dumb to realize what they're getting into?

GE
is trying to force the Democrat Party to force American citizens into using dangerous light bulbs. I will not allow those things in my home.

Explain to me how
buying a shopping bag that advertises Target or Kroger which I will never remember to take shopping with me is going to save the planet. Save the planet from what. Aren't the stores just trying to save money by not buying bags. How many people in the bag industry are going to loose their jobs?

Save the Planet my rear!

Immelt, Jack Welch, and GE
As a GE employee (now retired) when GE was managed by "Neutron" Jack Welch and a time during which GE acquired NBC as well as RCA, I'd like to offer up the following. One caveat that GE had to agree to in order to gain congressional approval for the acquisition was that the company would not attempt to influence NBC's broadcasting policies, especially its news. So the question is, "Is Immelt upholding the agreement as he implies, or has he violated it?" Secondly, anyone who remembers why and how Welch ran GE, would agree that any employee who disgraced the GE logo (or meatball as we fondly called it) did not last long. And lastly, Welch was bottom line oriented. Any business component or manager that repeatedly did not meet profit goals (i.e., did not add power to the engine)did not remain a GE component or manager very long. To me that's three strikes for Immelt. I wonder if Welch could do it over again, would he still pick Immelt as his successor.

GES ANTI AMERICANISM
Im wondering-What must a fine citizen like former GE chairman Jack Walsh thinking these days. Walsh, unlike the COMMUNIST America hater Immelt, knew both how to be a good businessman(no sucking up to the econuts) and knew which flag to salute(unlike the filthy pig Immelt, who would suck up to Iran if it meant he could destroy capitalism). Id like to see if someone might find out who holds GE shares , buy them , then ask Walsh to come back and right the ship. As for Immelt and his Soros butt boys Matthews,Ubercommie, Sucker Zucker and Rachel the Madcow, maybe send them to live with there islamic pal Sheik khalid Mohammhead. After all, are not Moose limbs supposed to dislike PIG PRODUCTS?

I'm just a little fish out here ...
who happens to have GE appliances in my kitchen. I also have a 1957 hand-held GE mixer that I use regularly. It was a wedding gift. This has always been a good brand to me, appliances that work reliably, reasonably priced, and pretty. NO MORE!!!

There will not ever be another GE appliance in this home, although I feel sure Jeffrey Emert cares less than nothing about past consumers. Wish I could do more.

Public Opinion
Although we all understand that writing or E-mailing our Government representatives is a useless exercise, large Corporations DO pay attention to consumer input. Now that the Tea Party carnival is over and many conservatives are patting themselves on the back for making a point, we need to do something that is REALLY effective. All those Tea Parties did was provide a lot of air time filler for Fox News and local Talk Radio stations, as well as providing a lot of fodder for the left wing news media to leverage the idea that the right wing is not only ineffective, but kinda silly too.

If we wish to make a mark on that Left Wing Media (especially MSNBC), we need a strong write-in campaign against GE. If millions of potential consumers drown GE in letters and E-mails threatening to boycott all GE products unless GE media outlets show better balance, we have a good chance of seeing action from GE's Management. Send the letters everywhere within GE. Send them to the CEO. Send them to the Senior Executives at their Consumer Prodicts Divisions. Boycott their products and inform the salespeople at Appliance Stores that you will NOT even consider GE products, etc., etc.

Remember, the majority of GE Appliances and Consumer Products are purchased by Moderates and Conservatives, since liberals and leftists are either very young or far too rich or renters or on welfare, etc. to be buying such mundane items as appliances. Hitting them in the pocketbook is much more effective than these one-time happening Tea Parties.

Tough luck, folks. Aren't you the ones who cherish the thought that owners may publish what ever they please? It's their First Amendment Right, isn't it? Or is it suddenly abuse by "the ruling classes", now that you do not agree with their point of view?"

This isn't about a Fairness Doctrine of any sort. What it is about is continually biting the hand that feeds you, and it shows in GE stock, tarnishing of brand name, as well as MSNBC, CNN, NY Times, etc. If you want people to buy your products, don't make an art out of insulting them.

The end result
Politicians, Soros, GE, foreign and domestic dictators etc., will ALL GO TO HELL for destroying this country on purpose for their own monetary benefit. I just wish we (the real Americans) could be there to see them get their just rewards!

Augo
"Do I hear the Browns calling for reimplementing the fairness doctrine."

Seems to be a basic misunderstanding of the 1st amendment. No one is calling for the bias at MSNBC or CNN to be ended by the government. If we the people choose to voice our dissatisfaction over the bias and call for balance, or if the stockholders demand it from the company heads, that is quite different from the government forcing them to do so.

I am against the government forcing MSNBC and CNN to be unbiased. The market and sponsors are quite capable of handling this on their own. Check out their ratings.

Augo
"Do I hear the Browns calling for reimplementing the fairness doctrine." [sic](questions should end with a question mark)

This is so typical of the way libtards twist everything. Yes, it is the company's first amendment right. It is also the right of the stock holders to protest. And I don't believe anybody said anything about GOVERNMENT FORCE.

That's the trouble with libtards. They just don't see the difference between GOVERNMENT demands and the demands of FREE PEOPLE IN A FREE COUNTRY.

Everyone of those stock holders has the right to sell their stock and leave GE dangling in the wind to show their disapproval.

I hope they do just that.

semperFi/ Augo
SemperFi/par- good point. However, couldn't a quality division of GE become a seperate and independant company? Investors could, theoreticly, buy that division. However it happens, the aviation division will always be around.

Augo- No conservative I know of would demand "fairness" in what anyone chooses to broadcast. Commentary is always biased. If they are persenting their commentary as NEWS, then i have a problem. I listen to El Rushbo, but I get my NEWS at the top of each hour. See the difference?

Tough luck, folks. Aren't you the ones who cherish the thought that owners - or their minions - may publish what ever they please? It's their First Amendment Right, isn't it? Or is it suddenly abuse by "the ruling classes", now that you do not agree with their point of view?

gas turbines
GE still makes good gas turbine helicopter engines. They also make good jet engines.

G.E.
I thought something was going on at G.E. when Warren Buffet bought alot og their stock. He being an insider was told that the O. adminisration would send the cap and trade contracts to them. Also in on this was T.Bone pickens and his windmills.Don't forget to drop GEICO insurance as it is a big money maker for GE

G E EMPLOYEES
should be the ones demanding that GE clean up their mess. GE is now like the swine flu, killing everything it touches, therefore killing the jobs of the little people working under the GE umbrella. don't buy their product or services. they are deadly.

Renny #26
They'd die clutching their cell phones while food and water were six feet away.

Wrong, They would have large men with guns forcing the "masses" to bring them food and water. The "ruling classes" from time to time have to show the rest of us they are superior. It's in their DNA, just as freedom is in ours.

Work to squash their "fair" programs before they squash us.

Tea Party...Regarding Packers and NBC
I'll boycott any Packer game on NBC as I wouldn't want anything to do with that Commie Network and my wife is afraid I'll throw a shoe at the new big screen the instant I see Keith O at spout anything regarding the NFL.

Hit them in their wallets!
BOYCOTT, RETURN, and REFUSE

Boycott their TV channels and product endorsements.
Return their products to their doorstep
And
Refuse to buy their stock no matter what a broker may tell you

HIT THESE IDIOTS IN THEIR WALLETS since it's the only thing they understand.

Floyd and MB
Do you know a former GE exec by the name of Carl Turner?

the big mick

Al's "30" a bit premature
You might want to think it through a bit, Bundyboy. GE also makes money for its STOCKHOLDERS and, it appears, they don't think the dividend is worth putting out CRAP!
In this they show they value the GE Label and don't want a CRAP product associated with it, regardless of short term profits.
Perhaps they have a longer view in view than your more limited attention span that sees "no story here."

If you want a story, get PMSNBC to put out a "Deck of Cards" of the top 54 (at least 2 jokers) American Baathists, Government and Private, who had their hands down Freddie's pants and up Fanny's skirt and CAUSED the Subprime/Securities Scam Meltdown and its Domino Effect.
Or since that will be 3/4s Commiegrs, do you not want that story told? No story there too?

mick

Al
The Commonwealth has refused to take at least some of them, which qualifies, and we are not the only jurisdiction to do so.

So unwax your ears.

mick

HEY!!
Floyd and Mary... At the Capitol you may have even met my sister and a coworker of mine! Also, one of the speakers, and old family friend. My coworker noted that the TV crews were faced away from the general crowd toward those sitting on the lawn. He asked the TV personnel if they did or were going to shoot the large gathering behind them. He got one of "those" looks...

Hey Rube
I haven't heard of anyone returning their stimulus dollars rube@

ARRGGHHH
I should really learn to proof read..the word is 'there' not their

Haven't knowingly bought anything from GE in years and haven't watched those pathetic channels that think they are giving us the news.
Fox is it in this house, and the local alphabets are only watched if a Packer Game has the misfortune to be broadcast by them; and the local weather. But even the Packer Games may
be something of the past after the way Brett was treated by the CEO..when he leaves we will return but not before.

Psst
johoninoregon..I hope you aren't counting on that huge tax cut O promised all the gullible koolaiders. Obviously by not watching Fox you haven't heard..Their ain't gonna be no stinkin'
measly tax cut..Surprize Surprize..Gollleee
The magicmessiah done pulled a Clinton ya',
remember when he promised tax cuts then once he got the brass ring he solemnly spoke to Americans from the office he later soiled; that he workes as hard as he's ever done but sorry
folks, he just can't seem to make a tax cut work for you'all that were dumb enough to believe me..Har Har Harrr! And then we got the biggest tax increase, ever until this Bozo came on the scene..Yep..you voted for it..you own it
all.

MSNBC makes dollars
No story here! MSNBC makes dollars for GE! Case closes.

Bankrupt The Obama Agendists Of GE !

They are vulnerable and their stock which was as high as $57 plus in 2000 has tanked from $41 plus in July 2007 down to $6.66 in March and closed today's session at $12.11 and up .02 after hours.

They cut their Dividend and their Financial Arm is in trouble.

Boycott their Products.

They are counting on The Cap And Trade Scam and helping to promote this Rip Off Scheme.

Bankrupt GE !

Large Corporations often not free market
Most large corporations have often worked hard to develop political contacts on both sides of the aisle. They are generally quite comfortable with "crony capitalism", or "cartelisation", which keeps new entrants from their markets.

This has been true since the first days of the Republic. These people generally believe in a managed "free" market.

Corporate Liberals
One of the biggest myths going is that large corporations are bastions of conservatisim. WRONG! Large corporations are full of liberals, and the higher up the ranks you go the more liberals you will find. There's nothing unusual about GE.

Dump GE
We sold off our stock and haven't bought a GE product in years now. Don't forget they were caught selling parts to Iran. No wonder they're so chummy with the Bami-Lama.

According to MSNBC...

Michelle Obama's polling numbers are so high - chances are - the Iranians may shut down their Nuke program out of pure giddiness.

Well, looks like it will take at least 6 years of Obama - and a Nuke attack on NYC - to turn the tide of hate from the strawmen, and back to where it rightly belongs.

Democrat Envy is killing America.

JOHNIN OREGON--PUT THE PIPE DOWN
Dear Johninoregon:

What is really obvious is you and your left wing pot-smokers are vastly ignorant of what actually motivates we conservatives.

When you are ready to have a debate and not throw insults, maybe you can READ A BOOK.

ROWDY BOOTS

Give it time....
Renny - no argument here. But GE is more than broadcast/print media. GE is scoring political points that will pay-o-la off in the long run with this administration. Get cynical - you'll feel better about the O-bomb-a.

THANKS--NOW THAT I KNOW GE OWNS NBC:
I WILL NOT EVER BUY A GE PRODUCT AND I WILL MAKE SURE MY FAMILY DOES NOT EITHER.

G.E.--FAIL, CLOSE, GO UNDER, GO BANKRUPT OR LEAVE THE COUNTRY.

OH, YOU DID,,,?

HA HA HA

ROWDY BOOTS

A Steaming Cup of....
"Another attack was MSNBC's attempt to marginalize the tea parties by suggesting the attendees actually benefitted from Obama's "tax cut," but were too dumb to realize it."

So, we should be mad at MSNBC for recognizing and stating the obvious?

GE's National Healthcare computer payoff
Does anyone have more info that they can post about this? It sounds worse than Watergate, frankly. I'm very curious to know more - please point me to some more info?? Thanks!!

But too smart
The system is not rewarding GE's tv investments. MSNBC is 15th, absolutely last place, in news, and CNBC is close.

The NYTimes is going out of business because no one is buying the paper and its bus. people can't sell ads.

When GE can't sell ads on the other permutations of NBC, they'll go out of business, also.

Nothing the O admin. is doing is good for any business unless you're ACORN or Planned Parenthood and make no real money anyway and exist on grants and donations.

The Denver Post closed, the Chic. Trib. was sold last year and is for sale again, the LA Times is bankrupt, and eventually if these orgs. want to exist, they will have to change policies. Those pol. changes are to get out of lib. drivel and into more mod. to even center-right ed. positions.

AM radio was dead and became a multi-million-dollar bonanza again because it started broadcasting Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura. They were successful because PEOPLE listened to them.

If papers and even the network news which are losing viewers nearly 5% a year also stopped promoting the left at all costs, they would gain back viewers and advertisers.

No amount of phantom money from DC can save news businesses that don't appeal to an audience. DC can't run the auto industry on killing trucks and SUV's that are selling in favor of elec. cars no one will buy. People will buy foreign or buy overseas. They don't have to save Am.'s car businesses.

That's what's called the market.

It's All About the Bottom Line
GE is smart enough to position itself to profit from Obama's idiotic economic policies. As a wise friend once stated, "you gotta do what the system rewards" - and if the system rewards wasteful spending practices that cost taxpayers trillions, so be it.

Huge numbers of corps. and big
business honchos that should be "typically* Reps. are today really leftover baby boomer excapees who still identify with their hippie dippy 60s' pasts and crow about their *green* policies, meanwhile they fly around in privare jets, produce tv and movies that are as energy-intensive as Formula 1 race-car driving, and otherwise live lives of absolute hypocrisy while looking down their long noses at the rest of us.

Look at Jon Corzine. Master of the Universe at Goldman Sachs who earned enough to buy his way to the gov. seat in NJ and who has lost a $billion in my teachers' pension betting on derivative (which sunk the housing market) and now wants to invest state pensions in toxic assests, a sort of doubling down at AC with my money.

These *Dems* can't run a toy train set, and like their leader, the Big O, have no common sense or real experience in succeeding or failing. When the markets were up, they all made money so they all thought they were geniuses.

Now, we know, all that money was fake, so now they are busy trying to steal ours as future taxes to pay for their pipedreams of an 1850s paradise without electricity or petroleum. If any were set free in a forest and had to survive, they'd die clutching their cell phones while food and water were six feet away.

GE's Conflicts of Interest
It is GE that stands to be a part of the National Healthcare computer along with HP.I would venture to say, Zucker and Immelt don't want to jeopardize this lucrative contract .I believe, they were very instrumental in convincing the Obama people and Congressional members for this purpose.
