Sarah Palin -- The Last Republican Standing?

Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

It’s official. Flies now have a longer life-expectancy than the political viability of most 2012 GOP presidential contenders. At least the male contenders.

Two weeks after David Letterman’s forced apology to Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, and days after Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina teamed with Senator John Ensign of Nevada for admittance to the “Adulterer/Hypocrite Hall of Shame,” Palin is starting to appeal to more and more Republicans…and Americans. As well she should.

Hillary Clinton certainly proved that the citizens of our nation are prepared to vote for a woman. Absent a questionable campaign strategy, she could be in the Oval Office right now -- or at 3 AM -- deciding how best to deal with Iran, the economy, and Joe Biden’s curious mind. Regardless, there is no doubt that a woman will soon lead our nation…and obviously, not a moment too soon.

Now, while the left, their handmaidens in the media, alleged feminists, and various late-night comics will flat out tell you that it’s over for Sarah Palin, I would beg to differ. Despite the most unprofessional, unethical, and unrelenting character assassination in modern U.S. political history, not only is she still standing tall, but still retains that “it” factor. She is very comfortable in her own skin, believes what she believes, and is not afraid to challenge the tenets of political correctness or speak-up for traditional values when needed. Attributes that tens of millions of Americans believe actually qualifies someone to be president.

With the Ensign and Sanford implosions and Letterman’s act of contrition, I started to not only ponder Palin’s rising chances in 2012, but wonder who else owed her an apology? As a communicator who has worked a few presidential campaigns in the past, the answer was and is quite obvious: John McCain.

Leaving aside McCain’s very public backstabbing of Palin on “The Tonight Show” when he wouldn’t even list her as a contender in 2012, we need to remember what started her “not ready for prime-time” problems. That being her interview in September of 2008 with ABC’s Charlie (I REALLY love Barack) Gibson. An interview that went viral faster than a “Jon & Kate plus Eight” slap-down.

In addition to being a disloyal opportunist, here is why McCain owes Palin an apology: Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, if you are the press secretary or director of communications for a presidential or vice-presidential candidate, you are always looking to establish certain ground rules with the press, least your candidate get ambushed or made to look bad. If ever there was an interview that screamed out for ground rules, it was the Gibson-Palin two-step.

While managing editors and network news heads will tell you they never agree to interview ground rules from candidates, politicians, or celebrities, in the five years I worked for Bob Dole, I certainly insisted on them and got them. Sometimes the ground rules were as simple as the number of questions to be asked, to the more complicated assignment of picking the person from the network who would actually ask the questions. As every single “news” network and every single network anchor was desperate to question the Governor of Alaska at the time, ground rules would have been a lock.

Knowing that, and in the best interests of Sarah Palin, I was shocked that two critically important ground rules were ignored or not attained by the McCain campaign. The first rule for any Republican candidates at the presidential level being, only do live interviews. If ABC insisted on a taped interview, then campaign advisers should have demanded that edited teasers not be released prior to or following the interview. As history and “youtube” show, not only did the McCain campaign not secure Palin that much needed live interview, but ABC flooded the electronic world with those dreaded teasers edited to put her in the worst light possible.

Why only live interviews and no edited teasers? With a live interview, the candidate, just as much as the anchor, controls the outcome. No words taken out of context, and no anchors editing the candidate’s comments after the fact.

All too often, campaigns and candidates forget that human nature plays a commanding role in every success and every failure. Network anchors are human. As such, they usually don’t like to be challenged or have their authoritative or left-of-center voice questioned. If the McCain campaign had put Palin in the proper setting for her all important coming out party, she could have more than held her own against the Obama-infatuated Gibson.

For that failure -- as well as a host of others -- she is owed an apology by McCain. In the meantime, as these male GOP pretenders continue to succumb to human temptation, Palin may be the last one standing and win the 2012 nomination by default.

Poetic justice for sure.

Sarah
is still the only conservative candidate I fully trust.

Notice to trolls...
No need for your garbage here.....i'll just spew for you, so you won't have to...

Sarah Palin is an idiot...palin is a backwoods redneck....caribou barbie...palin is a c*nt....sarah palin is dumb...palin is a racist....palin is a religious nutter....her daughter got knocked up....sarah palin wants to ban books....yadda yadda, yaaaawn.

The left is scared to death of Governor Palin, thats why they attack her. She stands for everything they hate.

She has more executive experience than McCain, hussein & obiden combined.

She will have learned from her Veep run, and will make hussein look like the inept fool he is come 2012.

Palin/Jindal '12

Ohh yehh.

Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin may win the Republican nomination, but I wouldn't put money on it.

She is a polarizing figure in America and I doubt she can ever attract many voters beyond her Christian Evangelical core. Under just the right circumstances she might be able to secure the Republican nomination, but she would get no where near enough votes to beat Obama in 2012.

Liberals Cowering in Fear
jbird says, "The left is scared to death of Governor Palin, thats why they attack her."

Uh, huh. You just go right on believing that. And PLEASE make her the 2012 Republican presidential candidate.

Liberals Cowering in Fear
I agree completely.

If the left doesn't fear her, why the non-stop attacks?

If she were truly the brainless bimbo you think her to be, why waste so much as a keystroke on her?

In 4 years it will be the very popular Governor from one of the nations best run states against the idiot who has nearly ruined the economy.

It will be the pro-military, pro-security Governor against the idiot who will most likely allow another 9-11 because of his arrogance and cowardice.

Add the very popular Governor of another of the nations best run states...Bobby Jindal and 16 years is locked.

Americans aren't stupid...
Fool me once...jimmah cahtah
Fool me twice...hussein

We won't get fooled again.

A limerick for Sarah
Her critics will claim she's obtuse
And pretend she's a little bit loose,
But they'd better beware
When they vent their hot air
That they don't sound too much like a moose!

2012
There's a whole lotta time to go before 2012 comes around, so there's really no need to cross that bridge 'til she comes to it.

Meanwhile Palin just becomes stronger by repelling EVERY attack that the Left can throw at her.

By the time the election comes around the Liberals and the MSM will have inadvertently created a powerhouse narrative of Sarah Palin.

She beats back every attack with a steady confrontation based on morals that she LIVES rather than talks about, that are lacking by nearly every other major contender from either party.

She's something like 14 for 14 in defeating the frivolous ethics complaints levied against her.

The American people do not like bullies, and EVERYBODY knows you don't bully girls.

Speaking of Biden, where HAS the Obama administration's Foreign Policy 'Expert' been latey...I'd sure like to hear what he's got to say about Iran and North Korea...I could use a good laugh!

Sarah is the type of candidate we need
Sarah Palin is truthful and talented. She doesn't back down and is willing to say what she believes. She is one tough gal.

The Democrats and weak Republicans attack her (and primarily her family) because she is exactly what citizens (legal) want. It is a shame we don't have more potential candidates with backbone in the party. If there are others out there they are keeping a low profile. Of course, since Democrats play dirty and try to destroy you and your family, that may be their survival technique. I hope some others real Republicans show up to support her but so far I only see the "has beens" running. John McCain, Mit, Newt, Rudy, and the other wishy washy, greybeard candidates can be on her staff but I can't imagine voting for a Republican I can't trust any more than a socialist/communist/closet-fundamentalist-Muslum (current office holder who may not even be a citizen) Democrat. What happened to Duncan Hunter? He was the only candidate in the pack that had a consistent message and conservative values. But, since he was a true conservative, the party made sure he was marginalized -- just like they did to Sarah. When is the party going to learn to run Conservatives if they want to win? I pray we still have a country by 2012 and not forced to become citizens/slaves of the world as the current office holder is trying to accomplish as fast as he can.

Lies and Slander...
Character asassination of the basest, vilest sort. Anyone who mouths them against Sarah has either not researched this exemplary woman, or is intentionally smearing her out of fear. In the words of Tammy Bruce, They act like vampires at the sight of the rising sun. I am sick of the evil, agenda driven, all for me and screw you and America too, politics that we are subjected to by both Partys. By 2012, the policies of the idiot Obama, will have this country and its people devastated. Unh,unh, unh, I think, unh,Cap and unh, Trade, unh maybe unh, wasn't such a, unh,unh good, unh, idea after all. If Sarah continues to govern by the principles of what is best for the country and its people, she will be the change people will be screaming for. If elections are still allowed.

Bring Sarahcuda!!!
She electrified the party when its pulse was shallow and slow. Most of the average folk who ponied up cash did so ONLY because of her and the McLame campaign managers tried to muzzle her every chance they got.

Wherever she went she had people cheering not just applauding as with McLame. Then they tried to control her speeches and make her sound like the guy who was doing his best to throw the election.

Soli Deo Gloria!!

Race foils hope of a conservative POTUS
Once upon a time Republicans nominated candidates of the intellectual prowess of Teddy Roosevelt, the emollient shrewdness of Ike, the brilliant empathy of the Gipper.

Now your last best hope is an airhead who took five years to get through J-school, and whose family life is a disaster area?

Come on, get real. Even last fall, Palin was considered an insult to their intelligence by many Republican-leaning voters south of the ice line.

My 2c: the next GOP presidential pick won't emerge till 2011, won't be any of the disaster-era names being touted now, and might just be Bobby Jindal.

But it hardly matters. Real conservatism is over in the 50-state USA. The boat's been missed once for all: no matter how badly the One's socialism-lite fails, the only GOP contender who has a prayer of breaking into the solid, ever increasing blocs of black and brown voters choosing welfare dependency and big government will have to be "right of center" the way Arnie Schwarzenegger is.

He'll have to mouth all the liberal pieties, not scare the soccermoms, and tell the weak, the lazy and parasites that they're just fine the way they are, and we're gonna give you some more of the hard workers' and thrifty savers' bucks.

If you're a knucklehead partisn who only cares about "our team" getting back to the White House, fine. But I doubt even that can be done for long. Even the most abject sellout to liberalism won't get over the fact that this is ceasing to be a majority-white electorate.

Dems are losers, and America manufactures more of them by the day.

Wrong...
Whites make up 75% of the population, do some research! 40% of the population claims to be Conservative, according to Pew. Save your science fiction propaganda for Huffpo and Global Warming sites.

Palin/Anyone in 2012
She is not a Democrat Lite like Bush and McCain.

She knows that bipartisanship is often just another term for collaborating with the enemy.

The mainstream (not media) propagandists hate her.

Sounds good to me.

Practice Sarah
The Gibson interview may have been mismanaged - but Sarah was clearly unnerved in the Katie Couric interview, and for good reason.

When the camera focused on Katie's face, you could see the tightly controlled, but naked hostility.

Katie wanted to kill Sarah, you could see it in her eyes. That has to unnerve anyone.

Perhaps after that baptism of fire Sarah will be ready next time - and she'd better be, it's only going to get worse.

Not All Male Republicans Are Down
Not all male Republicans have gone down in flames. Mitt Romney has shown he still has moral values and honors the marriage covenant. I'm a big fan of Sarah Palin and would love to see her run, but let's not make a blanket statement about male Republican candidates.

Last man (woman) standing?
I am amazed that Sara Palen is considered the last Republican standing. Would anyone try and explain to me that out of 50 (57 per Obama) States there are no male counterparts equal to Mrs. Palen? In the thousands and thousands of Republicans, do you mean to tell me there is not a pro-life, pro gun, pro Constitutionalist left?
Of course there is! His name is Ron Paul! But do you think the big wheels in the Republican Party want a man like this? The answer is no. You see, if Ron Paul were elected he would cut government down to size by doing away with a lot of wasteful unnecesary government agencies and non governmental agencies that are sucking the American public dry. And all these power people would lose their power and have to go out and get a decent job and work for a living.
But as usual the media and the powers that be are not going to let that happen. Sara Palen along with those who would work to get her elected would not be so harsh.
I am not a Republican or Democrat but with anyone else other than Paul, it will be business as usual and it's been that way since Ole Abe Lincoln came to power. The usurpson of power by Presidents including Lincoln makes it so, that you can really tell no difference no matter which party is in power!

Don't You Get It?
I remember in junior high school how everyone knew that the election for class president or prom queen was nothing more than a popularity contest. Douglas MacKinnon is still in junior high school.

This is a national and truth be told world leader we're chosing. Attractiveness and small town, family values are not sufficient qualities for a president.

The consideration of Sarah Palin as a candidate in national politics is yet another reason why the GOP is in the tank. Palin is a symptom of what's wrong with the GOP, not its savior. Let's find a real leader and get behind her or him. And let's do it now. Palin looked like an idiot with Charles Gibson and Katie Couric because she's an idiot, not because she was set up.

Dave
Aaah, you must know Sarah Palin personally to know that she is an idiot. You couldn't possibly be basing your deep knowlege of her intelligence on what you know about her from the media since she has come on the scene. You must be a family friend who has had dinner at the Palin home and has socialized with the Palins and the Palin family. I can't imagine you would make such a statement without personally knowing Sarah Palin. Gosh where else would you get the idea that she is an "idiot" as you so elequently put it??? Gee, I dunno.....

Palin?? Please God no!!!!
As an Australian interested in American politics (as we have a tendency to go to war when you guys do) I say, in all seriousness, that if the US votes in Sarah Plain as President I will give up on America. A bigger idiot does not exist in politics. She humiliated herself constantly, it was embarrassing. Also why do people say that "the left" has to keep attacking her because they are worried about her? Gee, kettle, pot, black. Why keep attacking Obama by besmirching his name, carrying on about a slip of the tounge, 57 states... really, is that the best you can do? Also, get over your pro-military thing, are you guys a military dictatorship? No, in fact I thought you looked down on those countries. I think America is a mixed up place at the moment. We want to start looking up to you again.

Sarah Palin-real republican
Time for Haley Barbour,Michael Steele, and most of all John McCain to get on one knee and kiss Sarah Palin's ring.

PALIN/JINDAL ‘12
Yes, they are worried about her. Did everyone catch the lame attempt at humor by Senator Lurch (Kerry), who snidely remarked that it was too bad Mark Sanford went missing, and not Sarah?

Beware, though – the left-wing hate machine hasn’t even warmed up yet. Last time out, they manufactured a way to take out our best Presidential hope, George Allen. What they will try to do to Sarah over the next two-and-a-half years will make their deranged attacks of last fall look like a meeting of the stamp club by comparison. She had better be prepared.

Palin?? Please God yes!!!!
To Thalia:

Yes a bigger idiot does exist in politics: his name is Barack Obama. Obama and his sidekick clueless Joe Biden made Sarah Palin look like a genius in the campaign, but of course Obama's media lackey's didn't report the many stunning gaffes and blunders exposing Obama as the most ignorant president of modern times.

Sarah Palin would make a better president than Obama right now. If Sarah Palin were president we would not have:
-A string of tax cheats appointed to top government positions.
-A deficit greater than those of all past presidents combined.
-A foreign policy milksop whose biggest accomplishment is apologizing to the world.
-A fascist/socialist economic policy with the government telling companies what kinds of cars to build.
-The most corrupt government in a generation, with the administration politicizing the census and abusing its power purely for political gain.

Idiots
. . . and Obama is an idiot for thinking America has 58 states (57 down, 1 more to go) and for thinking that people in Vienna and Salzburg speak "Austrian".
Anyone who makes absolute judgments based largely on the efforts of a journalist who had every intention of making Palin look like an idiot through a taped/edited interview risks becoming what they mock . . .

A couple of thoughts

jbird IN Jun 26, 2009 - 12:42 AM EST

I know you love Bobby Jindal (as many do), but he is NOT a natural born citizen and cannot become a presidential or vice presidential candidate.

========

Robert CA Jun 26, 2009 - 1:13 AM EST

When I think of polarizing women, I think of women like Hillary and Nancy - I don't think of Sarah. Sarah tells the truth; she has common sense; she is not presumptuous or arrogant in any way; she is not out to be 'Queen' or to make money at the public trough. She is unlike the other two I mentioned.

I think the reason why some women (and men) are polarizing is because they are duplicitous as hell, and Sarah Palin simply doesn't appear that way at all.

Whether Palin will become the ideal candidate in 2012 will depend on 1) how much corruption we can get out of our election system by then (I'm not optimistic because of national stupidity and ACORN's and Obama's influence), 2) who else is available at that time (the field appears small at this time), 3) whether the country still has free elections in 2012, 4) whether Palin wants to become a national leader at that time.

Communist states are not free states, and with our government ignoring and breaking every law on the books, we are roaring down the road to communist tyranny. Whether we can stop this train wreck from happening is dependent on how fast Americans can wake up to the problem and stop it dead in its tracks.

The brain-dead and ignorant who elected Obama may have, short of a dissolution of America or of another revolution, sealed our fate as a free country - we may never have a free and honest election again.

God Bless America... the lawful and constitutional America.

Thalia
"We want to start looking up to you again."

With Obeyme as president, it's no wonder you want to look up to us again.

This issue with Sarah Palin running has less to do with her intellect as it does with her being, as Robert of Calif says, a "polarizing" figure for she clearly holds conservative principles to the degree that she makes the distinction between parties crystal clear, something the Left does not want to happen.

"A bigger idiot does not exist in politics"

Might I suggest you reduce the amount of American politics you get from the Mainstream American Media. They have long ago given up any pretense of objectivity in favor of advancing a Leftist ideology. Their stock intrade is character assasination and Sarah Palin, and any Republican who espouses conservative principles, are in their crosshairs.

Regarding elections

Maybe "We the People" should remove the election process from government hands and do it ourselves.

We couldn't do any worse than ACORN.

Thalia (contd)
If Sarah continues to defy the steroetype they wish to impose on her, by 2012 the only ones who would vote against her are the terminally partisan and there's little hope for those types anyway.

That doesn't mean I think she would win, only that it would clearly demonstrate the degree of intellectual and spiritual rot.

For what it's worth, I've already given up hope for any real change in this country to be effected through our corrupted political process, and that not for the least due to our corrupted journalistic process.

What we need in 2012
Will be a strong roll of duct tape to put over John McCain's mouth--while we hope on our side that Joe Biden just gets some WD-40 for his jawbone.

We are only in the first Obama year. Already he has begun to create a regal executive branch, appointing "czars" over just about everything to circumvent his own democratic-led congress. We have seen him slowly react in the most boring, matter-of-fact, academic way to a movement towards democracy in country that has for the last thirty years labeled us as the "great Satan". We have seen him mastering "doublespeak" when he says he doesn't want to run car companies and banks, but vigorously pursues both roles.

Barack Obama is a talented orator, in the tradition of the best of black clergy--he can give feeling to the written word that few can manage. But what we are seeing is that he is tedious and tortoise-like in his reactions to situations as they present themselves where a real leader would take a risk by at least seeming to speak decisively.

What if, on the day the tumult began in the streets of Tehran, Mr. Obama spoke in favor of those who spoke out for their rights? But no, we have Mr. Obama lending credibility to the oppressors by calling their chief tyrant the "supreme leader".

Jindal not native born?
Please do a little research before you make an idiot of yourself.

Bobby Jindal was born in BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA in 1971. His parents were born in India.

Bobby Jindal is more native born than either of Arizona's two former presidential candidates, John McCain or Barry Goldwater, both of whom were perfectly qualified under US law to be President. (McCain was born in the US Canal Zone as a Navy brat. Goldwater was born in Arizona TERRITORY before it became a state.)

Go Sarah!
Its high time that we get to vote for a real conservative with real values who walks the walk.

The continuing attacks from both the left-liberals and the RINO elitists prove nothing except that they know how dangerous she is.

Thalia
"A bigger idiot does not exist in politics". Funny, I can think of several; Chris Dodd, Barney Fwank, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Shumer,Richard Durbin, etc, etc. I am yet to say that Obama meets that description. BHO seems incredibly naive and dangerous, but stupid? not sure yet. Anyone that thinks Sarah Palin is an idiot, is way underestimating her. My point with Obama is that had the media done their job, we would not be stuck with Obama as our President. No other candidate, male or female, democrat or republican, could have gotten anywhere close to the Presidency with a resume as thin as his, and spending millions to hide his identity.

O- Sign of the Easily Fooled

womble TX Jun 26, 2009 - 10:10 AM EST

womble,

I am pretty well versed on this subject, having studied it for the last year, and I want to adjust your definition of natural born citizen a bit.

For the record, I used the term 'Natural Born Citizen' and not 'native born.' The two are different in the eyes of the law.

To be a natural born U.S. citizen, one has to be born on U.S. soil to two (2) U.S. citizen parents.

In the last election (2008), neither primary presidential candidate was a natural born citizen. Only the vice presidential candidates appear to have been legitimate NBC candidates.

Obama fails NBC status because of his father's citizenship (British) and possibly his place of birth (Kenya claims him as their own). From all appearances, Obama is a usurper, and was/is ineligible to become POTUS because of his birth status. This helps explain why Obama works as hard as he does to keep his personal records hidden (he is NOT transparent in any manner whatsoever).

McCain fails NBC status because he was not born on U.S. soil, rather in Colon, Panama and has a Panamanian birth certificate. A copy of McCain's actual birth certificate can be found on Scribd.com.

Natural born citizenship is a very important legal consideration with regard to presidential, vice presidential, and chain of survival candidates. The Founders did NOT want foreign born or influenced leaders in the Office of President.

I hope this is helpful.

Juan

Sarah Palin
I agree that Palin has been unfairly and mercilessly attacked. However, careful observation tells me her elevator doesn't quite reach the top floor. Therefore she will never be President.

Uh oh, Kathleen Parker is seething!
Don't let Kathleen Parker read this, she'll go apoplectic! I think Parker dislikes Palin because Sarah is so much hotter than her.

jim OR Jun 26, 2009 - 10:35 AM EST

Historically, about 80% of our presidents have been the taller of the candidates.

Obama is taller than McCain. Obama won.

Does that tell you something about our choice of presidents?

I'm not certain elevator floor level is considered most important, besides, how does one determine floor level in politics?

Please select Palin in 2012
If the GOP is so desperate that you will nominate a person like Palin to hold the most important political job in the world, then your party is doomed to become a freak show not unlike the Green or Libertarian parties are today. Palin is the least qualified person to ever be considered presidential material. Her political career is unremarkable in any way whatsoever, her command of any subject matter is dubious at best and her convictions are right there alongside any radio talk show host in the nation. This is a dumbed down version of Reagan if you can believe its possible.

Elect the woman. I cannot wait for the rise of the intellectual class personified in our current POTUS to annihilate the dumb redneck theme once and for all. It will be a public humiliation on an epic scale, Jerry Lewis meets Sir John Gielgud for debates on the meaning of Hamlet.

Palin/Sanford
I really like Sarah Palin's chances in 2012, but instead of Bobby Jindal, I would rather see Mark Sanford as her running mate. at least right now. Sanford may have committed an error, but who hasn't. Read Cal Thomas' column today, it may change some minds.

I am sure that both Sarah and Todd have at least looked at another with some degree of lust, whether they have acted on it or not. Jesus told us that if we have lusted for someone in our hearts that we were just as guilty as the one who acted on it, didn't he?

Sanford is a good man, but showed a moment of weakness. Don't we all? I still like his conservative credentials and I would not eliminate him from a future run, but I would rather see it as Sarah's running mate.

LOL
And she can see Russia from her house.

LOL........ gotta love this.

Frank in CA and johninoregon
You are showing your fear with each post. We are not afraid to see Sarah Palin as our candidate, but apparently you lefties are.

Let's just slow the train in 2010
Getting ahead of ourselves a little. Let's re-group and try and slow their train of destruction down a little in 2010 first. I do hope Palin is a viable candidate in 2012 as well.

She is the real deal
As hard and merciless as the state run media has been on Sarah, it just proves that she is the best choice for the right...they fear her the most, I will continue to believe that McCain, choosen by the left, purposely threw her to the left as a sacrifice, he was hand picked and choosen by the left to be the candidate on the right. What a joke. You could not have scripted the election in Obama's favor any more. When McCain and Palin soared above Obama the left's Messiah, in the polls McCain and his bastion of mislead and misinformed campaign advisors who were made up of liberals advised him to throw Sarah to the Lions, and I dont think that the economic crisis was coincidental either, both situations were manipulated, and dumb ole McStain took the bate and looked old out of step and an idiot, all while the media made Palin look stupid. What a script...Vote Palin for VP and Newt for President...this ticket will win.

Sarah has about 15% support
from the american public.

If she's the republican nominee in 2012, it's an additional 4 years for Obama.

Richard
It was a figuative statement and you know it. Idiot.
It would be like someone in Hawaii making the statement that they could see Korea from their house. The meaning is obvious, that they are so close that one of their missles could easily reach their homes. Which by the way is something that those in Hawaii must take into consideration.

Only republican standing?
Agree with you on Sarah Palin; republicans should know that to ignore her or trivialize her is death! pushing McCain forward, or Gingrich and a few other has-beens is also death.

I happen to believe Mitt Romney should/could be the strongest voice for the present and would make an excellent president.

FRalph

Thank you Frank
You said it all for me. It would be a grave mistake and the death of the party to consider Palin a viable Repub. candidate. Her education consists of a B.A. in Journalism-- certainly fine for many careers, but not for the Chief Exec of the U.S. So often people forget; once the campaigning is over and the election is won, THEN the test begins. Can you really picture her talking with other world leaders about serious issues? What does she have to offer to the millions of people who live in urban areas of the U.S? (Most of the population actually) Her simple-minded, black & white views of the world may be fine for the governor of a mostly rural state (less people in AK than your average city) but the country-girl-pioneer-spirit can only go so far when dealing with the serious problems of the world. If you don't have the intelligence and education to back you, as she doesn't, you're doomed. And, she's no shining paragon of truth and honesty -- she was real quick to jump on the nonsensical, racist rant about Obama being a terrorist during her campaign. She would be a great candidate -- perfect for burying the Repubs once and for all.

Obama NBC case
Interesting twist in the ongoing saga of the Obama Natural Born Citizenship cases:

Judge: Eligibility dispute is 'serious'
Says case will be expedited when representation lined up

A judge hearing one of the cases challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to be president has taken the unusual step of describing the dispute as a serious constitutional issue and further has begun adding letters of comment from the public to the court record.

Word of the action by U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel Schneider in Camden, N.J., comes from attorney Mario Apuzzo, who is handling the Kerchner vs. Obama case.

Apuzzo filed his lawsuit in January on behalf of Charles F. Kerchner Jr., Lowell T. Patterson, Darrell James Lenormand and Donald H. Nelson Jr. Named as defendants are Barack Hussein Obama II, the U.S., Congress, the Senate, House of Representatives and former Vice President Richard Cheney along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Maybe this case is another positive step toward throwing at least one of the bums out.

Ha ha!

(HJ Note: I was prevented by TH from quoting directly and using Richard Cheney's more common first name. Apparently D-ck is a bad word and can't be used on TH. Censorship at its finest, eh?)

Afraid of Palin?
Not one of you has ever said what exactly there is to be afraid of. Her intellect? Her education? Her accomplishments? Her influence? Her background?

There's nothing there, people. She's the governor of a rural state, which with the exception of the southern part, is mostly uninhabitable due to the freezing temperatures. And what is all this "tough talk?" She hasn't had the opportunities to "talk tough" in a meaningful way -- except for the campaign when she became a bottom-feeder and called Obama a terrorist. There were some issues in AK she addressed, but she's not universally loved or admired for her governing abilities. She's pro-life -- OK, that's fine for her, but is there anything else?? Abortion is not going to be repealed -- it's been the law for too long, so it's not even a question anymore - you can't build a national campaign on it. What else is there that affects our national interest, or our national image in the world does she have going for her? And having 5 kids, doesn't count! It wouldn't count for a man, so why should it for her? Having a pioneer spirit and all that blather about down-home values doesn't mean sh*t when people expect you to govern ALL the people and be a world leader. Palin was and continues to be a joke. Find someone better REpubs or face your certain death.

Richard
"And she can see Russia from her house."

Sarah Palin never said that...it was Tina Faye on SNL. But I guess liberals are so stupid they can't even tell the difference between a real person and a fake one.

high Juan
Quoting World Nut Daily doesn't count. They're the ones that helped propel the birth certif. idiocy. The SCOTUS found no evidence that the B.C. is in any way fraudulent. I love it when you say "from all appearances" The only people who think the b.c. is invalid are the nutbags on the right - certainly not "all appearances" No one in Cogress or the Senate believes the certif. is fake or illegal -- only on the internet hate-fest sites do you hear it. Drop it and find something worthwhile to oppose in the current administration -- something real.

BTW - note to TH. I also was told that the "D*ck" part of D*ck Cheney was not allowed. Time to update the software.

Jerry NJ Jun 26, 2009 - 11:28 AM EST

Jerry, you make some good points, but, with all due respect, anyone loyal to America would be better, by orders of magnitude, that the usurper in office right now.

If the left can't find anyone loyal to elect to office, the left deserves to be disbanded.

Some recent American history
For those of you who have your shorts in a wad because Sarah has a journalism degree from the University of Idaho (whose teams have the curious nickname of Vandals), let’s look at a few recent/current Presidents, shall we.

Bush 41: Yale
Clinton: Yale Law School
Bush 43: Yale
Our Maximum Leader for Life: Columbia

That’s four straight Presidents with Ivy League backgrounds. I fail to be impressed.

Reagan: Eureka College

It would appear that collecting degrees from Universities with names that are breathlessly intoned by the Northeastern establishment does not necessarily qualify one to be a great leader of our nation. Sarah certainly seems to be at least the intellectual equal of the aforementioned foursome, and would be a far more effective leader.

Jerry
"Not one of you has ever said what exactly there is to be afraid of."

For starters, how about that she embraces the same policies that have got us into the mess that we're in now? Low taxes and high spending to provide the appearance of prosperity meanwhile accumulating a huge debt to pass on to our children. That's pretty scary.

presidents
I guess that a community organizer quaifies one to be president, while being a governor does not.Let me see now exactly what qualifications did Hilary have to run for president.Thats right she is an expert on adultery.

Richard
Try looking up the quote.
This from AP Dec. 14 2008

The first plase "I can see Russia from my house" was spoken was in satire of Palin's foreign policy by Fey on the TV comedy show "Saturday Night Live"
Palin's actual quote was "They're our next-door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an Island in Alaska"

Sarah
Sarah is the only Republican I would vote for - she stands tall, says what she believes, is conservative in her values and judgement. If she were president now we would not be a sinking ship economically - she had far more experience in governing than the current resident in the White House - who is proabaly a usurper and is not qualified under the BHO provide his vault certified birth certificate nor any of his records. The "sheeple" however seem to be awakening and are demanding this - see World Net Daily and the billboards. Palin as I understand it, is the only Governor who is briefed daily on security issues being the Commander in Chief of the Alaskan National Guard - the only permanent national guard in the US. McCain through her under the bus - and obviously she is a threat to the Democrats or they wouldn't continue their harrasment. So what is she has a degree in Journalism - thank God she is not a lawyer!!! Look at what those with law degree's have done to this country - need I say more?

Why'd Mack Pick Sarah?
My concerns w/ Jindal & Romney have nothing to do w/ their ethnic/religious background, little to do with Jindal's one poor(?) speech, & much more to do with the fact that they, along with Haley Barbor & Jeb Bush, are on board with John McCain on this "National Council for a New America" that doesn't seem to be getting much scrutiny.

Why did John McCain pick Sarah Palin as his running mate, anyway? Why not Romney, or his buddy Huckabee, or maybe Guiliani or Jeb Bush? Did they ALL turn him down? Why a national unknown with strong conservative views, who surely would blow away the "pander to moderate independents" strategy if it actually had a chance of working (which it didn't)

Considering how Mack's campaign treated her esp. after they lost, I think the whole idea was to groom her as a scapegoat for the loss they apparently thought was likely. I'm glad Doug points out McCain's role in the trashing of Palin.

The real albatross around the GOP's neck that's going to spell ongoing defeat is John McCain & the bogus movement he continues to screw up & bog down the party with. If Mack & his little NC4aNA can't be kicked to the curb immediately, it's time to walk out of the GOP, because otherwise it's hopeless. Johnny Mack will be able to pull off a loss even when hyperinflation, chaos, & depression kick in due to Barry's crypto-Marxist policies.

Robert
By the time 2012 gets here America will be begging for ANY republican to run because slowly their obambi hangover is starting to lift and when they realize what they have done they will be very contrite.

Jerry NJ Jun 26, 2009 - 11:36 AM EST

Would seeing the actual court records help you understand more of the problem?

Or would constitutional attorneys discussions on the topic help?

What exactly do you need to be able to see the topic clearly?

jerry, really?
What scares you is she's a real American with wholesome values. I know that bothers the Liberals greatly. I am a retired union Democrat that hates the takeover of our party by George Soros and Moveon.org. I am a lifelong Conservative and I will vote a straight Republican ticket until the far-left radical element gets back in their hole! They call themselves Progressives now, what a joke the Liberal mantra is. I believe that in 2012 the Conservative majority will take back our country. I did not like "W" because he didn't protect our borders and he spent like a Democrat. The only President I ever voted for that won was Ronald Reagan, our greatest modern president of all. Jimmy Carter betrayed our values and Slick Willy did more of the same. Let's elect someone who actually loves and is proud of this country's legacy, not another apologist in chief. Go Sarah!

Dave
"For starters, how about that she embraces the same policies that have got us into the mess that we're in now? Low taxes and high spending to provide the appearance of prosperity meanwhile accumulating a huge debt to pass on to our children. That's pretty scary."

But not scarier than the current president's policies of spend and then spend some more. Tell people your going to reduce the deficit and then spend some more. Inform everyone your going to reduce the spending by 0.01% and then spend some more. At some points the blatant lies have got be acknowledged even by the blind left.

A more telling preditor of what she would do, is to look at what she has done you can go here and observe that the state of Alaska has no budget deficit.

http://money.cnn.com/news/storysupplement/economy/gapmap/in dex.htm

one of only twelve states.

Not 1 out of 12
Make that 1 out of 4 states without a budget deficit.

Right makes right....
Good point- I would add Abraham Lincoln (self- educated) and Harry Truman (college drop out) to your list. It seems as if we have had a few well regarded presidents from both parties who had humble educational backgrounds.

Now before all you lefties accuse me of comparing Sarah Palin to Lincoln, Truman or Reagan let me make it clear that I am not. What I am saying, however, is that your slavish worship of the Ivy League is rather pathetic. Leadership is not learned in the cloistered ivory towers of Yale or Harvard nor is common sense. Indeed, the opposite is often the case.

Really?....Really?!!!
Sarah Palin, on the surface, represents a lot of things I like but if she is the last Republican standing then the party is F&^%ed and just needs to be put out of its misery.

Bill
You say "What scares you is she's a real American with wholesome values. I know that bothers the Liberals greatly."

If this is the heinous mess you've made of reason and logic, and represents the lack of connection you have to the real world, then much more than just the GOP and the Conservative movement is in REAL trouble.

It's very simple, actually...
Sarah, and I feel very comfortable calling her Sarah, understands the difference between right and wrong. Someone here derisively described her outlook as "black and white." I agree with the fact of that statement. I believe she has a very firm grasp of what is right and what is wrong, and I believe she strives to do what is right. That is why she would be a great president. Compare that to Obama, who only equivocates on right and wrong. I don't say that he has no beliefs, only that he knows his beliefs are far outside of the mainstream and, therefore, he is wont to vocalize them. This is the way he handles his political aims, as well. We're told, by Obama, that health care reform is a must, that the system is broken, but, even on his infomercial, which no one watched, he could not answer simply questions with simple answers about why reform is necessary or what the consequences of his plan would be. The reason is that if the American public knew the true motivation for all of his political aims, we would push for impeachment right now. On the other hand, we have Sarah, who simply speaks truth. I don't know about anyone else, but I'll take the occasional flub or misspeak from someone who is simply being himself or herself well before I'll take constant yammering from someone who consistently attempts to hide who he is from the American people. In general, actually, Democrats are never able to simply tell us what they want to do and why they want to do it. Think about why that is. It's because they know that the vast majority of us DON'T WANT WHAT THEY WANT. But back to Sarah. She knows right from wrong. She tells it like it is. She can take a beating and come out on top. She'd be a wonderful candidate in 2012.

Ben
The majority of us are going to have the same problem with Ms. Palin that some of you have with President Obama--we don't want what she wants. Perhaps more painfully for you, we don't want what she represents, for we believe she represents a different set of things that you apparently do.

Only Liberals Call Her Divisive
Dems and Libs would like you to think that she is divisive. She might divide the Dems b/c some of them realize that Socialism won't work and the Dem leadership are full of crooks. They also understand that Americans respond to politicians with integrity (see Reagan).

Do they attack her policies? Her record while in office? Her budget management?

No, they resort to grade school name calling to get the electorate fired up against her - how pathetic.

They just don't get it!
From my TH Blog post "An Open Letter to Mr. Steele and the RNC":

"I will be looking to vote for and support the party that has a ticket of Thomas Sowell and Sarah Palin, or philosophical equivalents. I’m willing to bet that you and the powers-that-be of the Republican Party can’t even imagine why I feel that way, and very likely do not care.

Trust me! That has become a mutual feeling."

Well, Bruce,
I guess, if she is the nominee, we'll just have to wait and see who is actually in the majority. I notice you didn't deny that the majority don't want what the Democrats in Washington want. It's getting harder to find a majority who want even what the Democrats SAY they want. My implication is, of course, that what Democrats say they want and what they really want are generally two different things. That isn't to say that there aren't some decent folks on the Democratic side in Washington. I believe that there are. They're simply forced to vote with the leadership on everything. And why is the leadership the leadership? In other words, how did these sorry people get selected to lead the House and Senate? Maybe the rank and file Dems aren't so decent after all. No, I don't have the misguided notion that Republicans are perfect, either, just in case you might have gotten that impression.

Sarah Palin Will Get My Vote!
Sarah Palin's only fault was in trusting a paper tiger like McCain. He just had no back-bone to fight Obama, nor defend his running mate. He was just a bad choice, made worse under pressure. Plus, they had very little in common: She really was conservative and he was only conservative in foreign affairs.

Governor Palin is an honest broker of Conservative values: less government meddling and more free market opportunities. Her personal ethics are outstanding, but have little impact on the executive roles that she aspires to. To me, it is just icing on the cake (more reasons to like her, personally) -- nothing more.

Right Makes Might
"Yes, they are worried about her. Did everyone catch the lame attempt at humor by Senator Lurch (Kerry), who snidely remarked that it was too bad Mark Sanford went missing, and not Sarah?"

Take a look at the video on UTUBE in which Sarah jabs back at Kerry while she was visiting HER troops this week in Kosavo(sp). (Think she is on her way to visit her Alaskan National Guard troops in Iraq and AF., too.)

She said something to the effect: "He looks so sad and discouraged. Why the LONG face?"

Her troops went wild when she said that! The Alaskan NG loves her. She is not a phony like many who visit them. She gets into the field with them and test fires their weapons.)

Palin Offers Freedom Over Oppression
Bruce as to Palin, "we don't want what she wants."

True, most Liberals prefer a large, highly regulative Government that guarantees basic services, regardless of loss of freedoms and choices.

But, that will always be the case, no matter our condidate.

First Donation Ever
Sarah Palin's pac is the first political donation I've ever made. Judging from the comments I read on conservative sites, I wasn't alone in that. Sarahpac releases its numbers next month. Look out, GOP. You're going to have to kiss the ring or risk her running as an indie if you're too stubborn and insist on offering up another elite RINO. Palin 2012!

Bruce
So, you don't want to keep more of your hard-earned money, assuming, that is, you even have a job? Seriously?

You don't want to make the best use possible of the resources we have and instead keep funding terrorist states just so you don't have to (gasp!) look at a drill rig? Do you also object to seeing power lines along your street?

You don't want to make your OWN choices with regard to medical care?

Why not simply move to Sweden, where all they lack at this point are brown shirts?

You are NOT entitled to ANY portion of my earnings, because you do NOT have the 'right' to anything you haven't earned yourself.

Gosh, does your mom still pick up after you?

TO ALL LIBERALS
For the 2012 primary election, you vote only for Democ-rats and only for the Democ-rat Party candidates. Do not cross parties to vote for GOP candidates. Do not vote for GOP candidates in states with open primaries. Let Republican voters select who will run for the Presidency in 2012. Then Sarah Palin will or will not be nominated by the people who have a right to select GOP candidates.

Election Farce
The 2008 Presidential Election was a farce. It was not between a Democrat Party candidate and a Republican Party candidate. It was between a CPA (Communist Party of America) member and a RINO (Republican In Name Only). The RINO candidate was chosen by the CPA because he had military experience, and their anointed CPA candidate didn’t. The RINO candidate was nominated by Democrat voters in states with open primaries where they could use crossover votes to select the GOP candidate before Republican voters had chance to vote for their choice.

The big mistake was in the selection of the VP candidate for the RINO Party. Sarah Palin was the most qualified, and exciting candidate in the campaign, including all the members of Congress in line for the Presidency. As soon as they realized their mistake, the CPA sent out the attack dogs to vilify Palin whenever and wherever possible. The RINO Party put her in the crosshairs of the CPA wherever and whenever they could.

The RINO Party candidate campaigned as a RINO, not as a Republican. Whenever possible, the RINO Party candidate praised the CPA candidate, and crossed over to the CPA whenever possible. He had established a record in Congress as a RINO, not as a Republican.

CPA members of Congress deliberately caused the national economy to go into the worst recession in decades and blamed the RINO Party. The RINO Party candidate happily accepted the blame.

The CPA spent as much campaign money as possible on the CPA candidate; while the RINO Party spent as little as possible on their candidate. This election was like a soccer game where the net at one end of the field was one foot larger than the ball diameter, and the net at the other end was ten feet high and as long as the field was wide.

After deliberately losing the election, the RINO Party candidate is praising and kissing the a@@ of the CPA candidate.

Disclaimer
I am not now nor have I ever been a member of teh Republican Party. I nearly always vote Republican because of the idiots running the democratic party at both the Federal and State levels. Will she be the last one standing? I doubt it. But, if she is the nominee in 2012, she will have my support.

I had never heard of her before the convention last year so I tuned in to see what she had to say. I first say Huckabee give a good speech. Then Giuliani gave a good speech. Then came Sarah Palin who knocked it out of the park. She's a great communicator.

Dear Alive In Him

I am another alive in Him.

As for Bruce of Illinois; he just isn't color-blind. He won't vote for a white candidate. Which is fine with me. I have never believed anybody is color-blind.

Especially nobody African American.

The Unseen Army
Sarah Palin has a deeply devoted army of followers. Following the 2008 election, her support was deep, practically encompassing the entire conservative base.

Now her support is beginning to go wide as polls indicate people are bypassing the media's mischaracterization of her and going directly online for facts about her. As this is happening, more and more moderates and independents are catching on to her and her favorables go up as her unfavorables go down.

The rabid responses from the left are motivated by pure fear that she may become president. Her example alone has brought out the worst in liberals. Because of her, we are seeing liberalism exposing itself for the bankrupt ideology that it is.

Astounding...
This thread is indicative of the state of the GOP party today. Rather than elect leaders that are sophisticated intellectual heavyweights that have lengthy resumes of sustained brilliance, your party decided to choose charisma and folksiness over mental acumen and rigor. Starting with Reagan who was the first in a line of GOP lightweights, your party has continued to worship a version of everyman that does not serve your interests or party at all. Have any of you any clue how difficult it is to lead large groups of people in complex and demanding tasks? We have found out the hard way what its like to have pure ideologues and mental midgets in charge of our nation. If the GOP wants to overcome the Democratic juggernaut, start looking for leaders with some intellectual weight and the ability to fully articulate complex matters in more than sound bites. Palin is not even qualified to be Governor of Alaska yet there she is, leading a state that is basically surviving on oil revenues and is a subsistence level economy that is sustainable only as long as the resources are managed properly and the population remains low. She is not worthy of the mantle of GOP leader and you all know it. The problem is, there is no one left on your side to support because you have elected one dummie after another for so long, the smart conservatives are running businesses instead of catering to your blabbering nonsensical issues.

sarah looks so beautiful

It doesn't hurt Sarah Palin is beautiful and athletic and a mother of five.

Naturally, a crass male mannequin like Chris Matthews won't feel a tingle up his fat leg if he gets the opportunity of interviewing her. He's a vaginaphobe.

But look! Our voters couldn't ask for a better pair of legs than Sarah's! And; she's a working mother, a seasoned (by now) campaigner

. . . and best of ALL! She doesn't rise by way of Washington DC !!! LET'S send lovely Sarah to the White House!

Though I've been an academic all my life
I agree with the person who said he would rather be governed by people randomly picked from the phone book than by the faculty of Harvard.

I know lots of Ph.D's, Ed.D's, MA's etc. etc. They are my friends and friendly colleagues. But I don't know more than one or two who I consider as smart, in the sense of having the ability to sort out BS from useful information, to pick good people for jobs, and to deal wisely with difficult situations, as Sarah Palin.

To all of you who put her down, you have been FOOLED. Nobody is better at intellectual sleight of hand than our MSM. But I have personally observed some of the finest magicians in the world, and I know that they are creating ILLUSIONS. So it is with the MSM. Right now they are fooling us mostly by making us focus on Michael Jackson while OUR people in power are busy trying to figure out how to ruin us economically and OTHER people in power are busy trying to figure out how to completely destroy Israel and the US.

Frank CA Jun 26, 2009 - 2:18 PM EST

A couple of thoughts.

1. In American elections, the taller candidate usually wins - regardless of qualifications. Obama is taller than Hillary - Obama won. Obama is taller than McCain - Obama won.

2. Presidents use teams to win the elections and then run the country if they win. Obama had 100% of the media behind him and hundreds of millions of dollars for his campaign. McCain was not a suitable opponent for Obama and he lost. Obama uses tens of 'CZARs' to control his domain - he is so inexperienced he has no practical idea how to 'lead' or control anything by himself. Zogby showed us just how ignorant Obama voters were in 2008.

3. The ultimate leadership role is a military leadership role. I would rather have any strong willed and disciplined person (like Sarah Palin) lead me into battle than have Obama, voting 'present,' lead me into battle. Hell, as much as I dislike Hillary, I'd rather have her lead me into battle. Even Joe Biden would be good - at least I'd know which side he was on.

So, if by your argument you believe that Obama is the better leader, and that he has what it takes, you'll have to do better than that. Obama is a good speaker, and he can arouse crowds of uninformed masses to riot. Hardly qualities of a good leader.

Whether the Republicans get their act together for the next election will really depend on two things: 1) how badly Obama screws up, and 2) which of the really good conservative Republicans step forward and lead the party.

IMHO.

I am all for you electing Sarah.
I can't wait for you to continue to self-implode by putting her up against Obama. Your criticisms of Obama are so....uh....Rush-like is the word. He is already leading us and the world out of the misery and despair that was the Bush legacy. I am sorry you and your party believe first in party then country but so be it. Elect her, put Bachman on the ticket too. Then you can fantasize about the both of them together...

I prefer Mitt Romney for President
He's expert in all things about the economy, a conservative, and a leader.

LOL
Palin / Bachmann - 2012

Wingnuts on the loose.

Two smart guys

From opposite coasts; Oldprof and Highlander Juan.

Great posts, fellows; following on my jaunty appraisal of Sarah Palin. I furnished the chauvinist views of a Don Quixote;

You MUST value feminine strengths.

Then you two follow up with serious evaluations. What a marvel; brilliant minds think alike!

Scott in UT,

Please see my comments on Mitt Romney in a thread I posted for earlier,

Brent Bozell's "YouTube" article. Thoughts about pornographic license vs. freedom of speech.

I could back a Palin/Romney candidacy in the GOP; let's go for it!

Palin/Romney?
You folks have no clue what kind of person Romney is. Do you think for a second that he would play second fiddle to that PTA hack? Romney comes from a family that is used to power and has the chops to take the GOP to the next level. If you were smart, it would be Romney/Paul and then it would get interesting. But elect your tundra tart and lets have a ball watching her debate Obama...The sound bites would be priceless.

Sarah's Electability
Here are some polling data that were released within the last 10 days. Of the voting public there are 40% conservatives and 21% liberals. This leaves a 39% block of moderate Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. Assuming most conservatives would vote for Palin, this requires only about 12% of the moderate vote to obtain a 52% majority. The Left understands this and this is one of the main reasons that they are terrified of Palin. And, this is why the loones are engaged in this baseless and vitriolic attack on her and her family. BTW - maybe the left should examine the fiscal state of Alaska, and compare that to, say, California.

2012
Palin / Bachmann - 2012

Romney / Palin - 2012

Experienced people with good attitudes. Good thinking libs. Tell us who else you don't like.

fwankie isn't along for this trip

In pt. of fact, Fwankie,

First a presidential call is made in the GOP Nat'l Convention. If Palin should rise above the others; and she will--

SHE would suggest a worthy man for her Veep on the ballot. The plain fact this would be an attractive ticket counters many lukewarm feelings in the Bible Belt, about Mormons. We all know those Fundies mean trouble.

The idea of Mitt having the choice of who's to run as VP on the ticket runs into Bible Christians' resistance at square One. They can help one another, IMHO/

I would like to review your proof that obama is a natural born citizen of the U.S.A.

Please do not tell me that you have accepted that he is a natural born citizen without any proof.

Would testimony from his grandmother and the Kenyan ambassador to the U.S.A. provide sufficient proof for you to reach a reasonable conclusion?

Perhaps you should research what his grandmother and the ambassador have said about his birth.

While your busy trying to justify your sublime and blind belief in obama, maybe you could explain why obama is so afraid to reveal details about his past. Details like his original birth certificate, his college admission applications, and under what country's passport he traveled to Pakistan in the 1980s.

Excellent post.

Regarding Alaska v California - I agree - no contest.

I am looking forward to a confrontation between
Obama and Palin in 2012.

It would be a treat

to have the beautiful Sara running the country.

further fwankie howlers

Fwankie isn't dense. Fwankie is just immature.

"I am all for you electing Sarah. I can't wait for you to continue to self-implode by putting her up against Obama."

Reply:

You won't have long to wait. Obama's in implode mode right now. Haven't you noticed?

"Your criticisms of Obama are so....uh....Rush-like is the word."

What about the criticisms he absorbed from Daniel Ortega and Hugo Chavez? The only thing they didn't clobber him with was the N-word. Weren't you a little embarrassed? What happened there, with those great debate skills?

His bowing & scraping in Saudi Arabia was well-covered in the news. Soon even Chris Matthews gets his own buyer's remorse. Maybe just maybe, A hip lady on the campaign trail will capitalize on Ubambi's hard luck. (We can hardly wait.)

Frank
The Dems aren't exactly looking like a "juggernaut" to me.

I'm not sure how old you are, so maybe you don't have personal remembrance, but your characterisation of Reagan as a lightweight is ridiculous. Reagan singlehandedly changed the direction of this country, in many cases against the will of many in his own party.

You may say that he changed it for the worse, but he was the most significant politician in my adult lifetime.

Sarah is an absolute threat to the left in this country - and I'd love to see her run in 2012. Might not happen, but if she did I think she'd be a great candidate.

I'm wondering - from the tone of your comments I'm going to assume that you don't support much if any of the Conservative agenda. If that's the case, why are you so concerned about the GOP nominating a perceived loser in 2012. Seems that's just what you'd want them to do.

The GOP Establishment Despises Palin.

I am not sure who is more afraid of Governor Palin, the Republican Party or the Democrat Party. The Pseudo-Cons running the GOP have been every bit as scurrilous and defamatory in their attacks against Governor Palin as the Democrats have been.

The Repub hierarchy wants to annihilate all remaining vestiges of Reagan conservatism. Governor Palin would be much better off forming a new party and running under its banner.

Tammy
"I am looking forward to a confrontation between
Obama and Palin in 2012."

Obama might not be the candidate in 2012.

Once folks start paying for Cap and Trade, Obama will likely be hiding beneath his bed!

They will be unhappy too, once many learn the actual impact of the Health Plan on their current situation.

(I think we need a health plan -- I know we do, but not the one proposed.)

Way Down South
You got it. The GOP establishment is terrified of her, which is just one more reason why I like her.

Craig L:
I suggest before you start waving around the name Romney, look at today's article on Massaachusetts healthcare, the Romney fiasco and tell me his plan is no different than Obama's. We already have one Obama leading us and you want us to support another progressive. Also, look at his flip flopping on abortion and other conservative philosophies. Perhaps, Palin wouldn't be so bad after all, because we know what she stands by and promotes.

American Thinker
site has a great, lengthy article on Sarah Palin. The article equates her to Gary Cooper in the movie, High Noon. It is quite interesting.

Quoted in part:

"Why are Obama and his gang so committed and desperate to destroy Palin? Could it be they recognize her destiny, like that of Moses, to set her people free? And why is she so despised by them? Obama's gang hate Palin for all the reasons we love her. Sheriff Palin is a good, decent and strong character driven conservative leader. Palin also believes in God. Such humility and virtues are as repulsive to liberals as showing Dracula the cross.

Something that sticks in the craw of many liberal women is that in their youth, they brought into the feminist rhetoric that women's liberation means no husband and family. Tragically, they find themselves aging and alone. Meanwhile, this conservative woman has it all: great career, fine family and a husband who loves and respects her. Adding insult in injury, Sheriff Palin looks mighty fine in her jeans"

My wife does not follow politics and never heard of Sarah until she spoke at the convention. My wife said: "Lots of women will be jealous of her. She's not beautiful, she is elegant -- and many women hate that worse than beautiful."

"The Repub hierarchy wants to annihilate all remaining vestiges of Reagan conservatism."

Reply:

We have no hierarchy in the party, though we do have a right-wing fringe. This is the property of Rush, Sean, the Babe in the Bunker, et al.

All these personages are soon to give up trying to beat Obama with threats from a so-called base. They'll give Palin more support than they ever gave McCain. WE NEED them onboard!

"Governor Palin would be much better off forming a new party and running under its banner."

Are you out of your mind? Sarah Palin is no Bull Moose Party leader. She SHOOTS mooses. The GOP will take her to the White House! Third parties are for dreamers!

Sarah and the GOP
I, too, am not pleased with the way the GOP has been relating to Sarah. This is why I tell them that I am withholding any contributions to the RNC until I am satisfied that they are back on a conservative platform, and that all current Republicans either not run for the office that they now hold, or that they are defeated at the election box. I am unsure of Romney at this point and think that it would be more of the same old Republican claptrap. I am looking for an innovative, no holds barred candidate who is not afraid of a fight, and will take on the establishment. So far, Sarah Palin is the only one who falls into this category, who hasn't fallen by the wayside, that is. What ever happened to Jindal? Haven't heard from him lately.

WAY Down South HI - 3:54 PM EST

Interesting comments. I never thought about things quite that way. My thinking was that the Republican Party was just too set in its ways, and had become non-responsive to its conservative roots. Nothing personal.

But, one has to admit that the Repubs, including, and maybe especially McCain, have gone out of their way to withdraw support of Sarah Palin and to shun her. I didn't understand the reason (maybe it's because I think in terms of teams and of people working together), but professional jealousy had come to mind, as did different agendas.

If the Repubs are an integral part of the lawless gang now running the country, the last thing they want around them is someone who sees things clearly and is open and honest, and so now the lack of support and the shunning would make perfect sense.

I'll have to consider this POV a little more seriously.

Of course, if what you suggest is accurate, then the Republican Party needs to be shunned by all conservatives.

Any woman who receives as much attention
--positive or negative-- from the Left has to be the perfect candidate.

If Sarah were not the incredible threat to liberalism that she is, she WOULD be history by now. Too conservative? Yeah, like Barack is not too liberal?

Anyone who follows Barack is going to have to be at least as conservative as Sarah to undo the damage of the Obama years and restore the America intended by the Constitution.

Keep one thing in mind: the last two Presidents who did not support Israel (GHW Bush and Carter) were both one-term Presidents.

Remember this, too:
The government took care of Terry Shiavo
Now they want to take care of you.

dear highlander juan

MacKinnon sees well how poorly McCain himself helped his running mate. And we saw some columnists, not all; make disparaging remarks about Sarah mostly after the election was lost.

Did anybody see "the Republican establishment" cut off its meager support for Palin, or seem finished with her as a viable candidate?

If so, name some names. I can't think of many. Let's refresh my old, doddering memory, please. Start, if you will, with important names.

Dreadnaught. Part One

The Republican Party does have a hierarchy. It may not be a hierarchy in the strict military or corporate sense, but it exists. Your denial of this is silly. Since neither one of us will convince the other, I will move on.

The Republican Party has made every effort to eliminate small government fiscal conservatives in the Reagan mold from their party. When McCain nominated Palin, the Pseudo-cons did something that stunned me. They viciously attacked her telling all sorts of lies and tried desperately to convince McCain to dump her. Heck, operatives in McCain’s own campaign were responsible for some of the slander.

There are many reasons why McCain lost. One was the aforementioned slander of Palin from within. This turned many potential voters against Palin. If Palin runs for president as a Republican, the Pseudo-Cons will go all out to destroy her in the primaries. She will be in a greatly weakend position should she succeed in getting the nomination. What support she would get from the Pseudo-Con hierarchy would be half-hearted at best and the Colin Powells would once again openly throw their weight for Obama. The notion that the Pseudo-Cons would “give Palin more support than they ever gave McCain” is pure fantasy.

Dreadnaught. Part Two

Whenever a Reagan conservative runs in a primary against a Pseudo-Con, the GOP supports the Lib with money and endorsements. When the Repubs had the chance to replace the worthless Specter, the conservative got knifed. Unfortunately for the American people, the Repubs got their just reward when the SOB defected.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee, a part of the hierarchy that you deny exists, has already thrown its weight behind the Pseudo-Con Crist against the conservative Rubio.

The selection of the affirmative action loving Michael Steele to head the Repub Party is further proof of the direction of the Repub Party and the leadership that chose him.

“Third parties are for dreamers!”

No, third parties are for visionaries such as Lincoln, Seward, and Chase. They are for intrepid souls who have the courage to say enough is enough.

It is better to run under a new banner than get shived from within.

Highlander Juan

You wrote,

“Of course, if what you suggest is accurate, then the Republican Party needs to be shunned by all conservatives.”

This is my position exactly.

The Repubs only want Conservatives to wake up on Election Day. They don’t want us to be anywhere near policy or governance. McCain only chose Palin so that the Conservatives would vote for him. Knowing full well that we despise him, he threw us a bone. If McCain had chosen fellow liberals like either Lieberman or Ridge, as he truly wanted to, he would have lost by a far greater margin. He was cognizant enough to realize this.

Now that Governor Palin is of no further use to McCain, she has been discarded.

Too often
Republicans allow those on the left to tell them who are the intelligent and electable candidates within their party. This is insanity. It would be like going to war and letting the enemy tell you where and how to fight.

Dan Quayle, one of the best men the Republican party ever had, was destroyed by libs in the media, and Republicans just threw up their hands and let it happen. One mistake while Mr. Quayle judged a spelling bee (and the que card was wrong) and the entire world labeled Dan an imbecile. Yet compare that to the many, many gaffes of vice president Joe Biden, and it becomes apparent that no one is really concerned with the intelligence of a vice president. It was all about destroying someone who had a lot of personal appeal.

When oh when is the GOP going to wise up and realize that the media are the last people conservatives should listen to? The harder the left tries to destroy someone, the more likely that person is to be a strong leader in the Republican party. If the Republicans would come out swinging and defend their own instead of tucking their pathetic tails between their legs and running into the bushes, everyone else would know this too.

Sarah Palin has enough courage to carry the Republican party all by herself, and those stuffy old men in the GOP should listen to her and watch her. She can show them all how it’s done.

good reply, way down south

You are verbose enough. You ought to run for office.

Where are the names I requested? You must know at least a few you can point your finger at. I don't claim to know everything about politics. Yet I managed to name some people on the right whom Sarah Palin must cultivate; if we're to make her a candidate.

The last staunch conservatives I saw before the last election --being touted for successful runs against Hillary's party were: Ed Thompson and Huckaby. (He's only slightly to the right of Rudy Giuliani.)

Republicans were being strongly warned by talk radio icons to chase away anybody who wouldn't commit to building a fence at the southern border, and it better be wider than the Mississippi. No wonder we had McCain for small change! Guys like you haven't a clue about what elects a president!

Third party candidates must either

1.) Have limitless personal fortunes, as Ross Perot had,

or,

2.) Have instant name recognition on account of a heroic personal history, like Teddy Roosevelt; who also brought along New York in his resume.

Guys like Stassen, Nader, Perot and Ron Paul just clutter up the debate stage looking for a few stray votes from Way Down Somewhere.

dear mrs kelly in indy

I also liked Quayle;

However; he wasn't running for president. He was a lesser light, and not a handy campaigner. I think you realize;

Electioneering isn't a slam dunk. You could say one "must" is killer instinct. Did Bush Sr. have it, or Dan Quayle? No, they only had the party machinery. That was fine, against Dukakis.

Or, when an opponent is like Gene McCarthy trying to upend Richard Nixon. (A total mismatch.) Nixon used his party connections better than other Republicans ever have, before Ronald Reagan. Only he went TOO far.

Even so, without the party, forget about it.

Bobby Jindal
For those who haven't researched it,Jindal was born in Baton Rouge, La. on June 10,1971.

That makes him a natural born U.S. citizen.

Dreadnaught. Part One
“Guys like you haven't a clue about what elects a president!”

It is the Republican Party that doesn’t know how to win elections.

My first and foremost goal is to disseminate Reagan’s conservative vision. It is not to win elections. Unlike you, I believe in substance over style. I believe what I write even if it were to mean losing. I have no interest what-so-ever in supporting a Republican who doesn’t share my conservative philosophy. That said, I believe that a true conservative candidate who eloquently preaches small government fiscal conservatism will win the hearts and minds of the people. It may take time, but Reagan conservatism can win.

“I don't claim to know everything about politics.”

Neither do I.

Dreadnaught. Part Two
“Where are the names I requested? You must know at least a few you can point your finger at . . .Yet I managed to name some people on the right whom Sarah Palin must cultivate; if we're to make her a candidate.”

I am a bit confused by this question. Your question about specific names indicates that you think that there are people in the republican establishment that are more influential than others. This connotes some sort of belief in some kind of hierarchy of leadership. Yet you previously claimed that no such hierarchy exists. Which is it? Governor Palin certainly has no need to cultivate a non-existent leadership.

In any case, I want Governor Palin to go over the heads of all of them. She has no need to cultivate the worthless Pseudo-Con Repub leaders. She needs to treat them with the same contempt and dismissal as they treat her. If the man who chose her to be his running mate is so willing to cast her aside like a piece of trash, cultivation is pointless. I don’t want her reaching out to the pukes whose stupidity, irresponsibility, and arrogance led to the election of the most radical president in U.S history. The Republicans are a millstone around her neck.

If I don’t reply to your next post, should there be one, it is because I have retreated to my underground bunker.

Natural Born Citizen = Born on U.S. Soil to (2) two U.S. Citizen parents.

Jindal's parents were NOT U.S. Citizens when Bobby Jindal was born, and could not pass the natural born citizenship on to him.

End of story.

Sarah Palin for POTUS
McCain, was trying to get Sarah down to his level and the way to do that was to sacrifice her to the wolves. McCain was not able to fight back as he had so many conditions that he put on himself regarding Rev. Wright, etc.

When he picked Sara Palin as his running mate he didn't realize that she was by far the best candidate on the ticket, she was the one who should have been running as POTUS not VP.

When McCain saw how the American pple loved Sarah he couldn't take it as she was more popular than himself, so he had to hold her down and let her be destroyed by the media.

Sarah Palin is not in the Good Old Boy's Club, so she had to take more character assignations than anyone ever has, even Dan Quale. McCain is a selfish old man that wanted to become POTUS and be in the lime light and he would have been forever in Sarah Palin's shadow.

I say Bobby Jindal for VP and Sarah Palin for POTUS. I will do anything that I can to help Sarah Palin when she runs for POTUS. You Go Girl!!!!! You can do anything better than what we have now. You have no big scandal's in your back ground as you have been vetted like no other candidate has.

Sarah also knows the ropes now and she will be the most viable candidate that the Reps. have. I know she can win just let her loose as she really loves this country and as far as I can see she is not in it for the power.

KERRY'S COMMENT ON PALIN
Yestrday Senator John Kerry said it should have been Governor Sarah Palin that should have gone missing. (instead of Gov Sanford)

That was a low comment for a US Senator to make about a Governor. Palin must really scare the Democrats. They are still taking pot shots at her and the election is over.

I watched Congressman John Boehnor of Ohio on C-SPAN today stand up against the energy bill the Dems are forcing down the Americans throats. He was firm and direct to the point that this bill will be more big government and a tax to every American. It was a good speech he gave in the house. I'd like to see more of him during the next two years.

SHE IS NOT IN IT FOR THE POWER?
You have to be kidding!!!!!

The very first time I saw her after she was
chosen for VP...I listened to her and more
importantly I watched her facial reflections to applaud and the lime light..and I told the person sitting next to me-- she is very
arrogant! And Bill O'Reilly had a body language
expert that told him the same thing and he
(smitten w/her looks) said "I don't see that"
but just before he had told that same person "you know what you are talking about!"
Do I dislike Sarah? No! But Iam not smitten
by her!

I think you underestimate the importance of third parties.

Yes, unless you have an extraordinary situation (no guarantee we don't right now)it's unlikely that any third party effort would be successful.

And I'm of the belief that any longer term sustained effort by a 3rd party would have to concentrate on building support at the state and local level.

There's no better way to trigger the bipartisanship everyone seems to crave than to elect a 3rd party President with no support in Congress. That would be one time when the DEMS and GOP would be able to work together big time. Must protect their turf - after all, the political process belongs to them, doesn't it?

But, 3rd parties have other uses. For instance, they can force the party that stands to lose support to adopt some of the policies that the 3rd party is pushing. They can make it very uncomfortable for the established party to ignore their "constituents" who have "nowhere else to go".

I'm with Way Down on this - in fact, I don't see much that he's said that I disagree with. I'm no longer sure why the GOP exists, and I think that at this point principle is more important than electing a bunch of Dem-lites.

The GOP appears to think that being "not Democrats" will pay off in the next election, and they may be right. But what are they going to do if they regain the House or Senate? Who knows? It's hard to tell when you have a party whose rationale for existence is that they're "not as bad as the other guys".

Are you people educated?
Some of these responses to my posting regarding the tundra tart have been hilarious. You folks actually think this woman is the best you got? I am laughing like a hyena over breakfast out here thinking of you morons sitting around thinking you want to be lead by this box of rocks. Why are you afraid to follow smart and capable Republicans? Ron Paul forgot more about our nation than Palin has ever been exposed to in all her life. How do you treat RP? With disdain. Romney should be your leader but can you forgive him for his fancy underwear and wacko ideas about Jesus and Indians? Nope. Then someone said I am young and could not possibly know that Reagan was a genius or some other such blather. For the record, I am 53 and remember when that man was our Governor, I hated him then and hated him in 1980. You all think his term was fantastic? Nonsense, it was a disaster for working families everywhere. He destroyed the labor unions that paid for the middle class all you folks under 50 take for granted. The GOP may win the South but lets face it, the rest of the country is not into regressing back to the old plantation days, we are moving on. Do you really think our kids think like we do? No way Jose. The GOP is going downhill fast and its a pleasure watching you folks disintegrate in my lifetime.

Cheers.

Frank
Thank you for your insightful comments. And yeah, you may have hated Reagan, but you didn't say that - you said he was a lightweight. Well, if that's the case name some of the heavyweights you've seen over your 53 years.

And since you have such disdain for Conservatives and the GOP why are you so outraged that we would support this sure loser, who is a joke in your opinion? Seems like you'd be happy about that, if you really believe what you say about Palin.

Christian Evangelical core
Robert of California dismisses Sarah Palin's chances for the general election even should she win the G.O.P. nomination because in Robert's opinion Sarah has no appeal past her "Christian Evangelical core"

I, Catholic, conservative but not a Republican & a WIA Viet-Nam War veteran am a fan of Sarah & certainly she'll garner my vote in the gebneral election, if she gets the nomination.

A Question for Palin Haters...
The statements by Palin haters urging her to run because they think she will lose so badly to Obama seem to have an air of desperation in them rather than confidence. With that in mind I have a challenge for Palin haters.

If you really think Sarah Palin would be routed by Obama in 2012 if she chooses to run why don’t you mount a drive for Obama supporters to cross over and vote for her in the primaries where it is allowed, just as Democrats and the liberal media helped push McCain to the nomination?? Obama probably won’t have any competition (unless he really screws the country which granted is a real possibility), so you wouldn’t be wasting a vote. If you really think Obama is so brilliant and Sarah Palin is so dumb then why not help give Obama the competition you think he could easily beat?? Why don’t you put your vote where your mouth is??

David
Good questions. I want to see the GOP return to the party before the conservatives took them over in a coup in 1980. Before then, the GOP was sane and rational. After Reagan, your party became fixated with dogma, religion and hatred for the other half of the country. I do not think Ronnie hated any one, he was a kind fool. But I do have very strong opinions about the modern conservative party and what it has done to our country. The level of discourse has become gutter like in your era. The media have become partisan hacks telling one side to blame the other. The country has descended into partisan hackery which does nothing for us or our children. I want an honest and respectful national debate on substance with your side and my side at the table. When you choose to support someone like a Palin, all I see is partisan sniping and idiotic nonsense masquerading as adult behavior. She is a buffoon and an idiot and you know it. Find a better person because no country is best served when there is no intellectual opposition.

Frank

Tell us who else you don't like that is conservative and possible POTUS candidates.

Juan
Ron Paul, Mitt Romney...thats really all your side has that can compete on more than just a gut level. These two are smart. They understand history, science and so on. Your side wants to follow a woman that ran the local Girl Scout troop. Get serious folks.

I think you should know

One main reason FWANKIE is opposed to Sarah Palin goes to the heart of the matter.

Palin is a professed Christian. Proof of her honesty is, she bore five children; and won't support abortion on demand. Much the same as George W. Bush. THAT's the real reason the left hated W. PRO-LIFE!

In Fwankie's case; he's a committed homosexual. Anybody who confesses Christ as Savior of the world is Fwankie's Dope of the Month. He hates anything what might show him he's a lost soul.

Meaning FAITH in God. Ergo, he'll die hating Sarah Palin.

Dismiss him, he's an idiot. That's all that motivates him as far as elections go, / Q u e e r as the old 3 dollar bill.

Frank
To Frank: Do you realize how ridiculous you sound when you lament that all you hear is partisan sniping and idiotic nonsense, then turn around and engage in partisan sniping and idiotic nonsense yourself by calling Sarah Palin, who is a state governor a buffoon and an idiot?? The partisan sniping and idiotic nonsense is all coming from your side.

Sarah Palin
If I were Sarah, I'd not want an apology from McCain because I'd have to be polite and listen.

Frankly, although McCain has an ego almost as big as obama's. He thinks he knows everything and that he is so virtuous.

I know he suffered, and he probably means it when he says that made him a patriot.

BUT IT DID NOT MAKE HIM A WISE MAN. It didn't make him god and infallable.

Frankly he made himself a Democrat and if he ever ran again, I wouldn't vote. Can't stand the weasel.

Sarah is sharp and intelligent. I was hoping as VP she'd have a chance to sit in and learn.
But if she can undo what Obama has already done, that's all I'd ever ask of her.

Frank CA Jun 26, 2009 - 10:24 PM EST

Frank,

I agree with your choice of Ron Paul and Mitt Romney.

Ron Paul considers himself a Libertarian so I'm not certain how welcome he would be in the Republican Party (a problem of its own).

I wanted Mitt Romney to run in 2008, but I believe Republicans were maneuvered into John McCain by Democrats and the moderates in the Republican Party. Big mistake from my perspective. No-one represented the Conservatives.

There may be some other winners on the conservative side, including Sarah Palin, and there is some time (although admittedly not much time) for them to rise to national level.

It will be interesting to see if the Republicans can really turn this around in 2010 and 2012.

I gave you my thoughts earlier on what I believe is involved in winning elections.

Partisan sniping...
Politics will involve a certain bit of partisan sniping. It should also include some serious heavyweight debates on topics that demonstrate a candidates grasp of the issues and understanding of the possible options and a clear methodology for making a decision. All the tundra tart can do is launch broadsides of outrage about this or that, she is an empty suit. The idiot here who calls me Fwankie is a typical right wing supporter. Notice how he went to the homosexual canard. What exactly is it about gay people that scares the GOP to death? But, I am only here to give you all some advice because its vital that the GOP regains its former place in our polity. If the folks that show up here are any indication of where this party is headed, you all have big troubles coming soon.

Cheers from CA folks and drop Sarah. She is dumber than a box of rocks.

Frank CA Jun 27, 2009 - 10:57 AM EST

Thanks for your advice, but why should I accept your advice? What do you know that I or others don't know?

I hope you don't think all of us are as dumb as rocks.

BTW, I don't consider California the seat of knowledge, and I've lived there - for 25 years.

Why listen to me?
Because I am extremely smart, very well educated, a successful businessman, never divorced, voracious reader, avid follower of politics and history going back to my days in high school, have lived overseas, speak another language, started businesses in over 50 odd countries and have your best interests in mind. I am not concerned about how much I pay in taxes, its my duty and privilege. I consider my year extremely successful if I end up paying over 100k in total taxes, that means I made a lot. I like everyone and am interested in freedom not oppression. Basically, I am about as perfect a human being as has ever existed. You are lucky to have me provide you with my wisdom.

everybody calls him Fwank

Everyone calls you Fwankie, not me, ordinarily. I resort to ridicule when it's called for. For the record:

Sarah isn't a tart. If you learned something we didn't, spit it out.

As for the "canard," of your male tarthood;

What's been said is just TRUE: you're the homosexual input here, over many weeks. Now for some morbose reason, you suppose Republicans "are scared to death of gays,"--? Just because someone explains the basic reason for your hatred? If you hadn't expressed this repugnance you feel for Palin, you wouldn't have to undergo this scrutiny.

She's dumb as a box of your condoms on account of THIS:

Expressions of faith,
Love of her children,
Reverence for Life,
Upholding marriage and the family--

All bugaboos for gay boys. I don't call that "dumb," You're the dumb tart, running around in circles at Toon Hall. You're our most outrageous cartoon. "Fwankie," a gay pop tart! Lol!

P.S., Nobody no how is scared of gays.

The childishness continues...
If it was just people like Dreadnaught acting like school yard bullies, no one would care one bit. The problem with the modern GOP is that old Dreadnaught here could easily be a Congressman, pundit on Fox or have his own radio show broadcasting to millions each day. Its one thing to spew anonymously on a web site as a lark and for fun. Its quite another thing to have an audience or be in power and act in the same way as our resident teenager, Dreadnaught. When some of you say that the nation has lost its civility, its not because of normal folks being rude and boorish. Normal folks have been that way since time began. No, its because our most visible people act in even more extreme ways on the public stage and actually promote this type of behavior. Do you not see that this is a one way street to extreme polarization and eventual decay of all civil order? Palin here is a great example of this type of person. She has absolutely nothing to contribute to the discussion except to throw red meat to idiots like Dreadnaught who slobber all over themselves in a daily feast of anger, decay and self-loathing.

Reply to Frank

Fwankie diagnoses the "problem,"

"The problem with the modern GOP is that old Dreadnaught here could easily be a Congressman, pundit on Fox or have his own radio show broadcasting to millions each day."

Fwank,-- please explain what that tripe has to do with our GOP? "Could easily be" is an indictment of the party? You're mouthing off pure rhetoric and I see the reason:

Women like Sarah Palin are the cream of the American crop! Men such as I, whom you scorn here, DEFEND her feminine ideals. We believe they helped build a great nation. We delight in justice, and we know Sarah does.

THAT should be everybody's delight! Only, YOU hate what we say about vice, corruption and deceit. THOSE are the staples of leftist ideology. WE HAVE PROVEN IT! You don't want anyone to stand up against evil. You hate men of good will. They are YOUR problem.

Lamb to slaughter
Sarah is a threat to ALL political ideology.

The left is predictable. I have come to expect the media and pols to hammer her.
You are a fool or ignorant if you believe they waste time and energy on insignificant issues or opponants.
They are a well oiled machine built for purpose.

What concerns me deeply is the GOP's agenda.
What reason would they annoint her to the status of VP,only to allow the attempt at the systematic dismantling of her ?

Why is there little but lip service against Obama's creation of an oligarchy. Zcars, subverting the legislative branch.
Sure, you can make the case they are the minority. But a damn near SILENT minority ?

The American people usually react whip like in reaction to major change. Change like Obama is offering.
Knowing this, is the GOP sitting quietly knowing someday they will return. Only to find all this new power already in place ?

A woman like Sarah, Or ANY possible candidate man or woman like her. Who is seen by many Americans as "one of them". Is a direct threat to that power struggle. And must be destroyed.

May God bless her, And us, with her.

Ok.
I was being kind to the saner elements of the GOP party. Actually, most of you are about as sophisticated as old Dreadnaught and your leaders reflect this race to the bottom of the gene pool. Carry on though and ignore my advice, I have never really cared for the GOP at all. Sarah Palin is a genius, smartest woman on the planet....Palin/Bachman 2012....Can't wait for the in depth critiques of ACORN or PETA or some other such nonsense from these two giants...

dear fwankie,

You aren't even on your own turf. Why do we need your kindness? I don't see anything in your silliness that means you are "sane," where we aren't. Try to be impartial, old mutt.

". . . you are about as sophisticated as old Dreadnaught and your leaders reflect this race to the bottom of the gene pool."

I leave it to others; mine is only a freely-offered opinion. From a life-long conservative. Don't I have freedom of speech?

"I have never really cared for the GOP at all. Sarah Palin is a genius, smartest woman on the planet."

We own no genius inherent in any candidate, Fwankie. All we see now is a chance to elect our first Woman president. If she were already judged a genius, I wouldn't blame you for the sarcasm. We expect her to win because the alternative would surely be destructive to all western society; Obama.

If we elect a hard-working, pro-life, successful governor; which Palin is, that will please me. Especially if she's not a DC politician!

You can't offer anybody superior. So what if you fancy yourself "sophisticated."

(You could have fooled me.)
