Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

It appears to many, that New Year’s Eve was the day that the last wobbling wheel of the Huckabee bandwagon, spun off before the “inevitable” crash of his hypocritical and mean spirited campaign.

For it was on the last day of 2007, that this “man of God” decided to hold a news conference to unveil a nasty and negative ad aimed at former Governor Mitt Romney. An unsavory ad that was devised and filmed by Huckabee in the midst of the Christmas holiday.

But wait. As Huckabee got to the podium to announce the ad campaign, he had a Machiavellian change of heart. “No,” he decided basically on the spot. The ad would not run. “Enough was enough.”

Clearly, the “enough was enough” uttered by Huckabee really meant enough of spending his dwindling campaign resources to do his own dirty work. Like Vladimir Lenin in the past, it was Huckabee’s intent to rely on “useful idiots” in the media to flood the nation with his disingenuous and insulting message. Unfortunately for Huckabee, the fifty or so national and local reporters gathered for his news conference, literally laughed in his face at his desperate and transparent attempt to use them.

Worse than witnessing what the Associated Press deemed a “bizarre news conference,” many in the media began to speculate as to how little respect Huckabee had for the voters in Iowa and New Hampshire. Does he think so little of them that he does not believe they are intelligent enough to figure out that he is gleefully perfecting the art of slander while consistently denying the same to their face? As one major news organization just asked, does Huckabee simply think of these valued voters as nothing more than “rubes.” Maybe Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard and Fox News said it best when he offered, “Huckabee is in a real campaign and he can’t handle it.”

If Huckabee can’t handle the pressures of a presidential campaign, how can he deal with an increasingly chaotic and dangerous world? As a news organization just pointed out, “He hasn’t helped himself with a series of foreign policy gaffes.”

For instance, why did he offer “our apologies” for the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto? Aside from that strange response, why does he amateurishly talk of sending U.S. forces into Pakistan to hunt down one man? A plan that would further risk destabilizing an already fragile Pakistani government and produce an outcome that could allow the nuclear weapons of that nation to fall into the hands of Islamic terrorists. To all of this, a rival candidate said that Huckabee’s comments “are not consistent with someone who understands the nature of the world we live in.”

Beyond the calculated and deceitful Huckabee news conference and foreign policy gaffes, what are we to make of his sudden allegiance with Senator John McCain? He now calls his opponent for the nomination, a “friend” and a “hero.” McCain now calls Huckabee a “good man.” Will dogs and cats next unite to sing the praises of both men?

Clearly, the mutual admiration society of Huckabee and McCain has nothing to do with the feelings of each toward the other, but rather, their growing panic with regard to the Romney campaign. While Romney has run what the media has called “conventional contrast ads” against the positions and records of both candidates, McCain and Huckabee have chosen the low road in response. Each man decided to launch personal attacks against Romney and his very character.

McCain’s strategy, was to film an ad that quotes a personal attack against Romney by the ultra-liberal Concord Monitor. When called on it by one of the Sunday talk shows, he cravenly said that HE was not saying it, the paper was saying it. Okay. If that’s his insincere defense, then in John McCain, has the Concord Monitor found its own “useful idiot?”

Beyond the Concord Monitor, why has the equally liberal Boston Globe endorsed McCain? Why has the National Education Association of New Hampshire endorsed Mike Huckabee? Why? Other than liking their amnesty and education plans for illegal aliens, what is it about these two candidates that these liberal organizations and media outlets love?

Finally, why at the 11th hour, have the Huckabee and McCain campaigns adopted the reprehensible tactics of the Clinton – past and present – smear machines? In doing so, they deliberately turn a deaf ear to Republicans and conservatives who reject this type of behavior offered in lieu of substance

re: HuckaCain Join Forces
Right on! HuckaCain are now friends, but only inasmuch as their mutual interests in dissing Romney go.

The "high road" Huck has taken is more of a "I've upped my standards, so 'up yours'...! McCain hasn't even used the pretense of the "I've upped my standards" bit, and has cut to the insults only.

With the anti-Mormon Mitt whisper campaigns, and the NH and Boston Globe doing their "Mitt the Phony" phony anti-Mitt stances, they are not upfront in their real reason for opposing Romney. "He's a Mormon" is their real bigoted reason for opposing "Mitt the Mormon".

Who knows, maybe the Globe paid the postage and did the printing on the "Mitt the Mormon", isn't he strange SC Xmas cards? Or, maybe the Concord anti-Mormon Monitor did the printing?

Between self-righteous Pharisees (on the right in Iowa, SC and elsewhere) and secular Sadducees (on the left, in NH & MA), as time goes by (like 2000 years), the more things change, the more they stay the same. Both harangue "The Church of Jesus Christ", whether then, or now (of Latter-Day Saints) with the same "we're orthodox, you're not" diatribe.

Spare Me
Huckabee supported one bill during his decade as Governor that would have let the children of illegal aliens who were already in high school compete for college scholarships. It didn’t even pass.

Also, out of a thousand people that he helped get out of jail, one of them returned to crime and killed somebody. And Huckabee didn’t even pardon that guy. The parole board let him out.

So for this, I’m suposed to vote for Romney, who had to come to an epiphany in order to recognize the immorality of abortion, or Giuliani, sanctuary-man. Please. GO HUCK! You are the winner!

huck
another legend in his own mind. That he is religious is one thing, that he wants others to vote for him based on his religious beliefs is something else again. But the more old huck opens his mouth the more he proves how naive he is concerning the world outside of arkansas. Perhaps he is good enough to be governor but lacks the qualities to be president

One responder...
You make our case wonderfully...that is, there wer 1002 OTHER pardons and commutations...what did those criminals do that we don't know about?

The line between judiciary and executive branches is the most basic of all Democratic principles, and Yuckabee seems clueless to it!

Romney has continually given Yuckabee a chance to debate THE ISSUES, but running contrast ads, and Yuckabee cannot do it, because he knows he loses on THE ISSUES. So, he pulls sophomoric shenannigans like Monday, to keep everyone talking about anything but the ISSUES!

I implore the good voters of Iowa to not give this man a pass on his ethics and his liberal leadership choices. Send us Romney. We dont want Mr. Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee Will Win Against All Odds
This is another hit piece against a good and decient man. Shame on you, Sir. While Mitt Romney uses continuous attack adds against Mike Huckabee for 3 or 4 weeks You claim they are only "contrast adds". Mike Huckabee decided he had to respond and and then decided he had promised to not go on the attack and pulled the add. If Mike had not shown the add you would to this day say he never really made a negative add. The only person to show this add in full on TV is Carl Cameron from Fox News. Carl will not tell how he got the add. He is the only member of the news media to run the add and is the only member to have a copy. He is using the add to bash Mike Huckabee continuously and I am beginning to wonder who gave it to him. Did the Romney campaign dig one out of a trash can and give it to Cameron. We out here in the heartland want to know where Carl Cameron got the add. I challenge Carl Cameren to tell us where he got the add. And not after the Iowa caucas, but now. What are you hiding Carl Cameron?

Look in the mirror man!
"they deliberately turn a deaf ear to Republicans and conservatives who reject this type of behavior offered in lieu of substance"

They are turning a deaf ear because the RINO establishment keeps ramming this Romney character down our throats. TH places more and more anti-Huckabee articles on this site with each passing day. We will choose our own POTUS without your biased rhetoric to advise us thank-you!

Have you ever wondered...
Why are Mitt's ads that focus on his rivals' (negative) records called attack ads?

Why did Huck call a press conference to announce what a great guy he is for running a positive campaign when he had been attacking Romney's character every chance he got?

Would Huck have gotten as much attention for his mean spirited ad by paying to run it as he got by pretending to pull it and then showing it to the press?

Would the press really have questioned whether he had an ad if he chose to take the "moral high ground" and not show it? Would that matter?

How many good people can ignore Huck's dismal record as governor when so much is at stake?

Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): Governor Huckabee enjoyed a meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more thorough review of his ethics record. According to The Associated Press: “[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office.” And what was Governor Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down. "

Nice to see...
things haven't changed here at Mitthall.com.

This site has become nothing more than a pathetic neo-con/Wall Street/globalist propaganda site.

Mitt has absolutely nothing in common with the average American. He was born on 3rd base with a Jackie Robinson-like lead towards home plate. You folks sure must love being led by Ivy League trust-fund baby plutocrats. At least Huck came up the hard way and is in touch with the concerns of the average citizen.

Sadly, in the end...money will crush populism, and all will be well at Mitthall.com.

Jim M
You've got to be kidding me. You really aren't that naive are you? Let me get this straight, you said, "If Mike had not shown the ad you would to this day say he never really made a negative ad".

And so what if I thought he never really made an ad? There was only one reason to do what he did and that was to appear to the stupid (which apparently you fall into that category) that he was above going negative, even though that was exactly what he was doing.

Why would anyone care if he had really made a negative ad? And why do you think it was important for him to "prove" he had made one and then not shown it? If he just said that he made an ad and decided to take the high ground no one would ahve questioned him.

Instead, he cynically used the media and useful idiots like yourself to carry his dirty water for him. He duped simpletons like you, whereas anyone with an IQ higher than 60 saw right through what he was doing. He is a sham.

If you can't see through this you aren't smart enough to vote.

cjb56
I doubt there is anyone in the US who is more average American than I am, and Mitt Romney and I have a great deal in common. About the only thing of substance we don't have in common is that I don't have as much money as he does. But he earned every penny of his money.

There are many, many people like me who have plenty in common with Mitt Romney.

I've just disproved your whole pathetic argument.

cjb56
I feel you on the prevalance of Mitt supporters at Townhall, and with the true Rudy believers as well. But that's where we part ways here.

Mike Huckabee is not qualified to be President, any more than Barak Obama is. The fact of the matter is that by supporting ONE bill to support illegal immigrants, he supported illegal immigrants having some sort of rights in the US.

Huckabee may have come up "the hard way", but that doesn't mean that he should be President. His stances on taxes, immigration, and his record on letting dangerous criminals go show that he is in over his head.

McKinnon, Save Some Ink
to use for a report that HUCKABEE is slicker the 'Slick Willy' ever was. Here's some real news about the REAL HUCKABEE. Please see the links below. May be a bit late for IOWA but, this should be seen by ALL voters. HUCKABEE violated Arkansas law.

I'm curious..
..which media outlets are calling Romney's attack ads "conventional contrasts". I just got done reading three seperate articles that called them "dishonest" and "misrepresenting the facts". Unlike the author of this report, I'll post a link below of one of the articles I just got done reading, instead of just randomly quoting something to fit my agenda. I have no problem with journalists offering their opinions, but when it comes down to bogus reporting like this article, it's a joke. Romney has shown with his record and his ads that he's attempting to fool people into voting for him by misrepresenting the facts; but perhaps it takes a real reporter to tell the truth, just as it takes a real candidate to do the same.

Why do we have to put up with your fake news.

I so happened that man was relative of Bill Clinton. Got the connection. Huckabee and Hillary.

Flagwaver
You make a solid point. Huckabee had a chance to stand for enforcement of immigration law and he didn't. McCain authored McCain/Feingold. These actions can't be dodged and speak much louder than campaign promises to me. I may wind up voting fringe, like was discussed so thoroughly on BrianR's and your site.

Mike Huckabee will never be president, even if he wins Iowa. He will be cut to pieces because of his ethics violations in AR. He is number 6, of the 10 most wanted Politicians. He earned this when he was Gov. the facts follow.

Why I would not vote for Mike Huckabee

"6. Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): Governor Huckabee enjoyed a meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more thorough review of his ethics record. WE DON'T NEED A MAN LIKE THIS IN THE WHITEHOUSE

Sneaky Messages
Example # 1: "I am too nice to tell you that my opponent is a corrupt thief, a liar, and a lousy stinking crook. So of course I won't say it."

Example # 2: "South Carolina voter, would you be for or against John McCain if you knew he is the father of an illegitimate black baby?".

Example # 3: Prosecuting Attorney: "This foul fiend, this cold-blooded murderer..." Defense Attorney: "Objection!" Judge: "Sustained. Jury will disregard that."

Same difference.

ReagenMan
Stupid is as stupid does ReganMan. I thought you'd appreciate that.

In Mike Huckabee I see a man with vision for the future. He is -

For santity of life and always has been. While Mitt Romneys signs into law any woman in Mass. can get an abortion for $50.00 Mike Huckabee wants a constitutional ammendment to stop abortion

For becoming energy independent in 10 years.

For Sealing our borders end to end and completely stoping illigal imigration.

For the 2nd. ammendment

For winning the war in Iraq and a stronger Military that no other nation in the world would dare challenge

For a man who wants a more "Fair Tax" for all of us hard working people out here in America. It also protects the poorest among us against unfair taxes

For a man who is not afraid to profess his fath in God

All of these items are true conservative values and are wise policys for our future.

I have a right to vote and that right is guarenteed by something called the Constitution of the United States Of America. I see voting not only as a right but as a responibility as an American citizen.

And when I vote I'm voting for Mike Huckabee!

Bigger Problems for Huckabee and McCain
Rush Limbaugh just said that neither Huckabee nor McCain are at all conservative!

Eichendorff...
You disproved nothing. If the average American was born with a silver spoon in his mouth (which is not Mitt's fault, of course), had a father who was a high government official and CEO of a major corporation, vacations at Nice in the summer and skis at Park City in the winter, had a multi-million dollar trust fund, has access to nearly everyone in the top levels of government and high finance, attends Bilderburg meetings, has no day to day money concerns, had no worries on how they might afford college for their children, etc...then yes, Mitt is just like the average American.

MItt does not take money as a man of God
Mitt is a lay minister . "Evangelicalsformitt".

May the best bass player win
I hope Jay asks Huck to play bass with the Tonight Show Band, I got a fever for some CCR and only Huck has the prescription.

Will this help or hurt Huckabee?
Rep. King questions Huckabee move; Thompson said he had ‘a nice laugh’

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who is supporting former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.), questioned former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s motives in showing a negative ad to reporters after telling them that he would not put it on the air.

King suggested to The Hill that Huckabee’s plan was to get a lot of play for the ad without having to pay for it.

“Doesn’t he have any money?” King said, laughing. “That’s what I’d have to do if I didn’t have any money.”

Huckabee drew laughter from a room full of reporters when he told them that he was going to show the ad he had just said he wasn’t going to run.

Who's doing the most "smearing" here?
Mr. MacKinnon:

You write an article about smearing and then proceed to make liberal use of it yourself. The innuendos, somewhat shakey assumptions, and derogatory adjectives in this article are a disgrace. Huckabee is not my personal preference but articles like this are downright shameful coming from someone who is supposedly a Republican adult. If garbage like this keeps coming from Republican powers that be I may well end up voting for Huckabee.

Huck
Just another snake-oil salesman. I'm a Christian and Huck scares the heck out of me.

Huck
AAs a Mormon who lived in AR I thought Huck would make a great VP Candidate to Rudy (not all if us prefer Romney). I have now changed my mind. Huck had everything that Rudy is missing but having a Bigot in the white is the last thing this country needs.

Buck the establishment!
Huckabee can truly be the people's choice for president!

davenp35
I listened to Rush today and here is what I found out. These are Rush's words, now.

Rush made Bill Clinton. He knew Bill and his staff listened to him every day and he guided Bill and Hill in making policy.

For his valued guidence we had Bill and Hill for eight years.

Rush assured us again today he will stay netural in the primaries and will not in any way try to influence any of us in our voting until the primaries are over.

Then Rush spent one hour and 45 minutes making negative statements, excuse me, contrast statements about Mike Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee did contact Rush in an e-mail right before Christmas and wanted to discuss the issue of what a nonstaff person said about Rush. Rush did not respond. That kind of disappointed me in Rush. I thought Rush wanted to resolve this issue. You can't resolve an issue if the two side won't talk. Mike wanted to talk and reached out. It was Rush that did not respond.

I really like Rush, but you know, I like him a lot better when he's talking about the Clintons and not one of ours.

who to vote for....
All I know is that I'm rather nervous about voting for a very charismatic, Southern Baptist former governor from Hope Arkansas that was rather liberal and was involved in some ethically questionable things while governor.

Yep, there's no way I'll vote for Bill Clinton.

Jim M
Your comments continue to show your limited mental capacity. First, I never you said you didn't have the right to vote, only that you keep showing you don't have the intelligence to vote. Second, how could anyone wiht a brain believe that Gomer would seal the borders? He has no credibility on that issue. Third, wanting to be energy independent are nice words but the man has no clue how that could happen and has no realistic plan for it. Fourth, the 'Fair tax' is going nowhere and it would raise taxes termendously on the middle class. Just look at any objective analysis of it. Fifth, there are other candidates that are fully supportive of the 2nd ammendment and are pro-life that are not as ethically challenged as Gomer, are more conservative on ALL issues and have an IQ higher than 80.

As far as the Republican primaries, I will vote for a true republican and conservative and not Huckleberry. There are at least 3 candidates that are better than this goober.

Two kinds of people
I have always believed that there are two kinds of people in the world: People who under-estimate everyone else and over-estimate themselves, and people who over-estimate everyone else but under-estimate themselves.

For myself, I have always been in the latter category and I believe it is less dangerous in the long run. Sometimes I am happily surprised by my own ability, and sometimes I am happily surprised by others' performance. But rarely am I caught feeling that I was deceived or fooled by others.

I believe Mike Huckabee underestimates most of us. I think his behavior is appalling. I think he has played and played and played the Christian card until it's ragged. I think his here's-a-smarmy-ad-no-wait-enough-is-enough is the most transparent behavior I have ever seen. His behavior would be poor coming from anyone; but coming from a self-proclaimed "Christian candidate" -- it's deplorable. He ought to be ashamed. But then, he's a politician first and a Christian when it's convenient.

I liked Mike Huckabee a lot more before I knew anythng about him. The more I see and the more I learn and know, the more I dislike. He is not a person I want to see in the White House. He is probably the one GOP candidate I honestly could not vote for against the Democrats, and that's saying something.

ReaganMan
It takes guts to go against the hard right who says anyone who does not stay in lockstep with their views doesn't have the mental capacity to vote.

I have guts and Mike Huckabee has guts. Guts to come up with a new plan, a new plan that is for a better future for America.

Thank God, for you Mike Huckabee. Keep fighting for us and win the primary in Iowa tomorrow!!

Couldn't Have Said it better than this!
This article shows exactly the hypocrisy of Huckabee and McCain.

McCain said Bush decieved us before the war-he was the one who was deceiving the American people!:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ioy90nF2anI

Huckabee tries to defend his not reading the NIE REport by saying President Bush was even worse.

Huckabee is the hypocritical slickster.
McCain is an angry wannabe.

Do Republicans forget how McCain almost became a democrat? And how he cheated on his wife?

Huckabee is a good family man but he has shown himself to be deceiving nad his campaign is poor and poorly organized.

Mitt is the best option we've had in a while-get over hating his success.

Regarding your comments on RUSH not responding to Hucks Email...

Did you conviently forget to include in your conversation why RUSH did not respond? (he explained it over the air)

Did you do this on purpose?

Does your omission of Rush's explanation lead us to believe YOU are nothin but a HACK for HUCK?

Rush said he did not respond to Hucks email because he did not want the HUCK camp to have any material FROM HIM that they would then claim showed that RUSH supports them.

Apparently Rush is concerned that the HUCK camp is dishonest and would twist ANY response he gave to make it appear RUSH is GOOD with HUCK.

Considering Hucks actions lately,,,, Rush is very prudent in NOT doing so.

Romney...
is no better than McCain or Huckabee ideologically, so what's the point of this column? I suppose Townhall is following National Review's lead in supporting him, considering the number of columnists that that cheer him on here. Intellectual conservatism has sunk quite low when the best it can do is support what used to be identified as a liberal or Rockefeller Republican.

Whatever MacKinnon
Mitt runs 'contrast ads' but Huckabee created a 'nasty and negative' ad that is 'unsavory'. Give me a big time royal break.

Please note that not once did MacKinnon dispute any points made in the Huckabee ad about Romney... isn't that interesting?

Victory with the other Baptist--HUNTER!
I wish the Southern Baptist machine had decided to get behind the other Baptist--DUNCAN HUNTER. If it had done so, it would have satisfied the evangelicals as well as the other conservatives in the GOP. It would have anointed a candidate we could all be proud of and happy to support.

If he had experienced a surge of support as Huckabee received from his fellow Baptists, I believe he would have peeled away a considerable amount of support from Romney, Thompson, and McCain. He would even please some of the Pual supporters. He would have become a clearly established frontrunner, and the momentum would have taken over. And he would have done all of this without making cheap shots at Mormons or Romney.

I'm one Mormon who has been supporting Duncan Hunter all along. Huckabee has alienated me to the point that I would not vote for him even if he is the nominee. If Hunter is out, Thompson is my second choice. Romney is third.

I wonder why Rush
has a hate on for Huckabee?

Even after he knew that it was not a Huckabee operative, but simply a supporter in DC that made the comment, Rush continues to say 'Huckabee staffer or supporter' like Huckabee put the guy up to it.

If you listened to all of Rush today you heard a caller hand Rush his head as it relates to Huckabee. For each of Rush's points the caller had a counterpoint for which Rush had no response other than to insist that Huckabee is not a conservative.

I can appreciate that Rush does not like Huckabee because he is not a 100% conservative, but Rush is parroting Huckabee opponents instead of doing his own research.

When Rush starts making a real analysis of Huckabee I'll consider his comments. Until then he is just making noise.

To all you Huckabee fans
Huckabee does have some issues that he is right on target with Conservatives , however, you need to look a little closer. Huckabee's recent annoucement regarding the Court's Sodomy ruling was very much off track, constitutional protection for sodomy, this isn't a Conservative issue. Also, Huckabee has announced that he would support and sign into law a National Non-smoking law, which is not the action of Conservative, more like a liberal, making big government bigger. Huckabee opposes School choice, he sold out to the NEA and has received the NEA's endorsement. No Conservative would ever being endorsed by an ultra liberal group such as the NEA. Huckabee isn't on track with Illegal immigration, he wants to give illegals in-state tuition in Arkansas, but not to American Citizens from out of state, and has stated some very questionable things regarding Illegals within the USA. No, Huckabee isn't a Conservative at all, he just talks like one. Also, I would be very worried regarding Huckabee raising taxes and compromising away our Freedoms with a Democratic House. He reminds me of another George Bush, who we all thought was Conservative -NOT. If we had a proper debate, Lincoln-Douglas style, 90 minutes or more of straight one on one. No more idiotic questions and no more 90 second sound bites, we might be able to detail who Huckabee really is. I do know that he isn't a Conservative and the GOP answer to 2008. Huckabee would be my last choice next to Ron Paul, however, he would be better than Hillary or O'bama or Gore or Kerry or any other Demonrat whose Liberal Policies are and will destroy all that made this Country great. So please for the sake of your Country, stop listening to the MSM, who is attempting to sell the GOP on Huckabee. If the MSM is selling Huckabee, we better take a very close look, cause the MSM is not our Friend and/or trustworthy.

tadpole
rush does not hate Huckabee....

he hates liberal actions that Huckabee made happen.

You know,,, love the sinner but hate the sin thing

For all you guys
lamenting the Romney smear (based on his mormonism), this is coming from a party that has been shoving "christian family values" down our throats for the last 2 decades. OF COURSE people are going to eye mormons (& atheists & muslims) with suspicion. The conservatives have never run on a platform of religious equality. It's all about "CHRISTIANS". Some religious nuts even get offended when Wal-Mart says "Happy Holidays!", & not specifically "Merry Christmas".

So don't whine if Mitt is getting smeared for being a mormon. Mormonism is barely even looked upon as being christian with the evangelical base. And THEY are calling the shots in Iowa.

Jim M
To paraphrase your words...thank God that Huckleberry will be back preaching his bigotry against anyone who is not a Baptist in a church February 6 as he will be done on or before Feb 5.

Maybe you and Gomer have guts but you're proving to everyone that you don't have any brains. Or maybe you're proving that you're not true conservatives. Anyone who supports Gomer Huckleberry isn't a true conservative.

Jimmy D
There are plenty of reasons to not vote for Huckabee. What gets my goat is that so many columnists and post-ers to TH basically make stuff up.

Things I like about Gov Huckabee:
1. He faces his detractors head on.
He has been on Meet The Press w/ Russert and Fox News Sunday w/ Chris Wallace and responded directly to the charges leveled by each.
2. As Gov of Arkansas he got things done wrt to roads and education.
3. I believe he will support sealing the border.
Despite Rush's very flawed analysis that supporting scholarships elegibility for children of illegal aliens that have gone through the Arkansas school system (Rush called it in-state tuition) equals amnesty and open borders... I don't
4. He has pledged not to raise taxes.
Rush's comment that if Huckabee was a real conservative he would have cut taxes instead of imploring the Arkansas legislature to give him a mechanism to balance the state budget was a joke.
5. He is honest about how his faith defines him while others seem to be a Christian when it is convenient (Mormons are not Christians)
6. He has worked hard to get on every radio and tv talk show to get his message out while spending very little money.
7. He's right on gun ownership
8. He's right on the sanctity of life
9. He recognizes the threat of radical Islamists
10. He supports traditional marriage

Concerns about Gov Huckabee
1. Engaging in economic class warfare
I disagree that a CEO salary should be limited in any way. Our country has many more issues to resolve.
2. Closing Gitmo would be a disaster
This would quite possibly lead to enemy combatants getting Constitutional protections - no thanks.
3. Not well versed in foreign affairs
But this could be mitigated with strong advisors
4. Likely to support expanded government program for preventative health care

A Christian Mitt is a Christian Myth!

Scooter
I actually said 'has a hate on', but your point is well taken.

The thing is that Rush's analysis is 'Huckabee is no conservative' based on raising taxes (even though he cut taxes too) and his insistence on saying 'Huckabee staffer' - he's acting like a 3-yr old.

FellowAmerican
You are 1000% correct. Duncan Hunter has always been and will always be the most astute and conservative of the candidates. I'm am a Christian but not of the Bible-toting evangelical sort, so I'm not particularly interested in whom the southern Baptists, as a collective, support except, as you say, they clearly picked the wrong guy.

But to be honest, watching this nation's supposed evangelical conservatives throw their support to a pastor who is little more than a Democrat who opposes abortion speaks volumes, to me, about the discernment capability of blocs like the southern Baptists.

Like you, I would vote for Thompson after Hunter and for Mitt after that. I would even vote for Rudy if need be. But I don't believe I can vote for Mike Huckabee. I think his public and political behavior is shameful, and every time he opens his mouth, his displays his lack of understanding of current events and foreign policy. But the worst is his tremendously liberal record as a government. His middle name must be Clinton.

Romney total hypocrit
This article is a great example of Romney's hypocritcy.

You see it is ok for him to run smear ads and slander ads until people are sick, but the second that someone tells the truth about Romney's ultraleftist record this is regarded as unfair.

You see Romney can say that his sons have done more for him running for president than soldiers giving their lives have done for America. Thats ok. Romney can also say that the surge is not working. Thats ok. Romney can raise taxes and fees and thats ok. Romney can run to the left of Ted Kennedy and that ok. Romney can lie about endorsements from the NRA, and thats ok. Romney can lie about hunting all his life and seeing his father march with MLK, and thats ok. You see Romney is regarded as special and it is ok when he does anything of these things.

But if there is any cannidate in his way who does anything, then they will have millions upon millions of dollars spent on smearing ads against them, and Romney will also buy all of the fake conservative sellouts who have a radio show or any influence at all to smear them.

But wait theres a problem. Red state conservative, social conservative are growing extremely disgusted with all of this, and they don't want to vote for a spoiled brat hypocrit, and they will vote for somoene who is devoted strongly to social conservative issues.

Vote for a true social conservative. Vote for Mike Huckabee.

TN boy
You can twist and lie about Mitt all you like,,,

And guess what ,,, thats OK too.

Drivel
I'm not a huge fan of Huckabee -- I support Fred Thompson as the only reasonable choice for conservatives -- but this article is partisan drivel.

Here's the gist of Huckabee's "slander," his "disingenuous message":

Mitt Romney is lying to get elected. And that means he shouldn't be trusted.

Well, hell, we know that. That's not news, and that's not particularly dirty politics, either. Dirty politics was "Don't Mormons believe Jesus and Satan were brothers?" (And, yeah, that was Huckabee, too.) Dirty politics was "John McCain has a black love child." Pointing out your opponent's shifting position isn't dirty politics, especially when it's RELEVANT.

Particularly laughable was this:

"...many in the media began to speculate as to how little respect Huckabee had for the voters in Iowa and New Hampshire..."

As many in the media who thought this, perhaps need to stand before a mirror and reflect on how much respect the person they see there feels toward those same voters.

Some of Huckabee's moves have been bush league (no Presidential reference intended) and he's muffed a few foreign policy references. Those will hurt him some. But he's the governor of a small state, and nobody supposes he has foreign policy experience.

It remains to be seen whether Huck will learn a little class in the coming months. But we already know that he can take a bunch of partisan hard shots, because he's been treated pretty roughly already and he's still polling well.

Can we drop the theology quiz?
the Big Mick wrote: "And before you say Mitty--he has to COME CLEAN about Mormonism. I want to know the TOP FIVE DIFFERENCES in Mormon Belief from other Main Stream Protestants starting with their Extra Canonical Revelation Doctrine. His covering up of this makes him untrustworthy."

Why? Are you voting for Mayor of the Heavenly City?

WHO THE MOTHER FREAK CARES how Mormonism differs from mainstream Protestantism???? What's that got to do with the price of oil in Nigeria?

Go get yourself a copy of Walter Martin's "Kingdom of the Cults," and read up on Mormon theology. Chances are that once you do, you'll know a great deal more about Mormon theology than Mitt Romney does.

And yes, I know LDS is not a Christian denomination, it's a Christian heresy. So what? I'll worry about that when I'm voting for my next pastor. I honestly don't give a rat's hindquarters what religion the President is. The last time I voted for a man because he was a Christian, I got the lamest President in living memory -- Jimmy Carter. And I learned a lesson you obviously have not.

for Arby
Arby writes: "watching this nation's supposed evangelical conservatives throw their support to a pastor who is little more than a Democrat who opposes abortion speaks volumes, to me, about the discernment capability of blocs like the southern Baptists. "

It speaks volumes about what their priorities are, that's for sure.

They got into politics for one reason, and one resaon alone: Their Bible-thumping fire-and-brimstone preachers convinced them that women's liberation and Roe v. Wade were turning America into a modern Gomorrah, and they had to seize control of the government and use it to reverse that trend.

The rest, they don't really care about that much. Fiscal policy, health care, etc., makes their eyes glaze over. But mention the word "abortion" and watch them leap to their feet.

Lack of professionalism...
on these two candidates, MCCain and Huckabee!

Arby
Glad to find a like-minded conservative. Thanks for your comment.

Yawn
SteveL, who is famous here for anti-religious rants, writes an anti-religious rant.

Yawn.

Steve, you need to go talk to a professional about whatever it was that some religious person did to you.

Abortion is important to the religious right, yes. Put yourself in their shoes: if you seriously believed that 45 million people had been murdered, wouldn't you consider that an important cultural issue?

You don't agree? fine. But that difference is not stupidity, it's one of several reasonable opinions on a divisive topic.

The electorate in the US is uniformly shallow, and has been for far too long. This is not a religious phenomenon. In fact, it's a combination of media culture (a secular development) and liberal domination of the education system (another secular development.) So if you want to castigate somebody for making voters stupid, find the nearest liberal and smack them across the face.

But you should tone down the bigoted anti-Christian rants. It's pretty obvious they're more emotion than reason.

Romney Dirty Ticks?
You don't suppose the Romney campaign is behind these sinister letters threatening all Iowa pastors who support Huckabee, do you?

mitts threatening preachers?
What? He's not going to donate to THIER collection plate...?

Now THATS threatening.

Townhall, Rush, Hannity, et al
I agree - my favorite old columnists, radio show hosts and news sites have all become mere shrills for their favorite candidates. We used to be able to rely on them for solid and grounded analyses...

Now, they tweak and distort and half-tell and do all the things we turned away from the MSM guys for doing.

Sickening.

Rush rose to the top because he became a voice that countered the PC police. He gave conservatives a place to go where they could be - conservative.

Christians are now the ones who need a place to go, someone who says: "It's okay to be a Christian!" Just as Rush once said: "It's okay to be a conservative."

THAT's what is at the heart of Huckabee's rise. He's doing for Christians what Rush did for conservatives. He's standing up for standing up for yourself. He's the Ben Stein confession email: "Christians are tired of being pushed around."

Wake-up Townhall and Conservative Talk radio: You are showing that your secularism is more important than the faith that grounds your values. With that, you take us down the path of Europe despite your conservatism. With that, you will lose the Christian part of your base, the ones who see themselves as Christian first, Republican second.

My prediction: Huckabee won't win the nomination, but because of it, people like me won't vote in this election and there are just enough of us that the Republicans will lose in November.

And Christians everywhere will be mobilized.

If an anti-Christian Republican wins, then the Christian Conservative movement is dead.

If an anti-Christian Democrat wins, then Christians everywhere will be mobilized to the work that really matters.

We will not allow the Republican Party to use us the way the Democrats use blacks.

YES, HUCK IS SLIME BAG
I too find the convenient Huck-McCain TAG TEAM to be revolting. They're both using each other and they know it.

And yes, Huck's stunt at the press conference on Monday is one of the most flatly DISHONEST political moves I've seen in a long time.

I think he just dug his grave. AND GOOD. Romney's a better candidate anyway.

Barb, part 1
You need to relax. Just because Huckabee isn't the right conservative candidate doesn't mean that all evangelicals aren't either. I have voted for evangelicals before, and I expect to vote for others in the future (and I'm a Mormon pro-lifer). I have nothing against evangelicals at all, and I am against making snide remarks about any religious group that isn't trying to chop my head off. For the most part, we agree politically. Me not liking Huckabee as a candidate has nothing at all to do with his Christianity or lack of it. It has to do with his lack of conservative breadth.

Look, one day there will be an evangelical that will have this Mormon singing his praises. Statistically speaking, it is quite likely. I can vote for someone who fears for my salvation, but who would uphold my religious liberty (because they uphold their own) over someone who is ambivalent to religious expression and would infringe on that right. That is why I can vote for a conservative who finds my theology loathsome.

Another point. I want as much of the complete package conservatism as I can get, but I don't want someone who trashes other parts of the conservative coalition because they happen to have a particular conservative specialty they want to amplify. I appreciate Mike Huckabee's social conservative bona fides, but he trashes on the fiscal and defense conservatives, which I don't appreciate. That is why I like Mitt Romney.

Barb, part 2
I am willing to bet that we agree on many positions and can get a lot of what both of us want (including pro-life judges). To maximize the conservative bang for the buck, however, we need social, fiscal, and defense conservatives, as well as some libertarians involved in party politics. I can and will do nothing for those who take their toys and go home if they don't get everything they want, which is why you are hurting only yourself if Huckabee's loss sends you packing.

Please be assured that for me (and I reckon many others), should Huckabee be the nominee, he will have my vote in the generals without question. You are not a castaway if you don't get everything you want. You have to stick with it, though.

Huckleberry!
I, A LDS, will not be voting for the likes of Huckleberry, not because he is Baptist, Evangelical, Protestant or whatever category you people wish to put him in, as constitutionally there is no religious test placed on anyone seeking the officew of President of the United States. This requirement is well known, yet we find the religious test being played over and over. No, I won't be voting for Huckleberry, but because of his character, and because he tries to play the Christian "Holier than you" Card. He is also a liar, a hypocrite and a Liberal. He would by his actions and his supporters, put the Pharasees and Saducees to shame. Should this man win the Republican candidacy, I will definitely cross over and vote Democrat providing it is Obama. Should it be Hillary Clinton, I will stay home on election day.

For all those who make the unfounded claim that my Church is not Christian or somehow is a cult, then perhaps you should help yourselves, especially down south, the next time a disaster strikes your area. Perhaps, you should seek shelter in one of your Mega Churches, providing those who operate said buildings will allow you in. But best of all, perhaps you need to look up the word "Cult" in the dictionary. Could be the word can apply to your organizations as well.

On the news this evening, I see where old Pat Robertson is prophesying again. Says God has told him what is going to happen this year 2008.
Seems he makes such claims every year about one thing or another as if he had some direct line to God. My question though is why does God call him up about the same time every year? Jeez, seeing him shaking and shimmering praying on the 700 Club, one would think he had an open line always. What a joke!

Beware the Huckster on ILLEGALS
I simply do not trust the Huckster on the CRITICAL issue of stanching ILLEGALS, who will destroy America if not stopped and reversed. We can do this by enforcing EXISTING laws and requiring REAL I.D. to function in America-- to work, rent, get licenses, seek services, attend college, pass go, etc. When they cannot get jobs and bennies ILLEGALLY, they will repatriate attritively the same ways they came.

ILLEGALS are EASILY the most serious threat to America's socio-economic well-being because today's modern service economy CANNOT benefit on balance from importing the ignorant indigent, who inevitably become HUGE net users of tax $ and social welfare services. The left wants them to vote ASAP to assure a permanent entitlement welfare state; hence, the drivers license motor voter fraud scheme rejected by 75% of New Yorkers. Here is an excellent summary of where the candidates stand on ILLEGALS (Mitt and Fred are best among front-runners) including actions while in office:

http://www.betterimmigration.com/candidates/2006/prez08_gop 1.html

The Huckster has favored tuition for ILLEGALS and said that he does not understand resentment toward them. What about "ILLEGAL" does he not get?! Understand that some 22% of ILLEGAL aliens overstayed visas-- they need to be sent back also. America should only welcome educated, skilled immigrants who come here LEGALLY! Sen. Juan McQuisling deserves no 2nd chance for finally "getting the message," and Sanctuary City Regularization Rudy is a no-go also.

Huckabee: salt and light
Governor Huckabee is doing his best to keep this campaign on a high moral plain, and he is encouraging the other candidates to be the best they can be, and to abstain from negativity, and simply talk about themselves, and their vision for the country

But, sadly Governor Romney has not followed Governor Huckabee's example to run a positive campaign based only on the issues.

Nevertheless, we the nation owe Governor Huckabee a tremendous debt of gratittude.

Yet, what do we see on TH?

Answer: Livid, angry cynical Christian bashers, like Douglas McKinnon, who always reinterpret noble actions into something sinister.

It just shows how their devious minds work-they think everyone is as meretricious and conniving as they are!

A special rebuke is in order for those (apparent) backsliders who clearly resent committed uncompromising Christians.

Thank You, Governor Huckabee, for showing us the moral high ground.

May God Bless you!

I will be praying for you throughout this campaign.

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper for your righteousness is of the Lord."

and, "..if God be for you, who can be against you?"

Huck on judicial watch top 10 list
source http://www.judicialwatch.org/judicial-watch-announces-list -washington-s-ten-most-wanted-corrupt-politicians-2007

Keeps good company, Hillary, Rudy, Obama, etc.

I know! Let's make him president and see if we can raise our esteem of Bush.

You coin an apt phrase "confused about who really has who's best interest at heart". Small confusion in my mind. The top tier of both parties have demonstrated they will do/say anything to get elected. That means they are first looking out for number 1. Just what we need for leader of the free world. Yukkkkkkkk.

Well, obviously you are prophesizing and believe this man is anointed by the God of Israel. Let's have a chat about 'your god / huck's god' tomorrow after your pope begins his free-fall to irrelevance. It would be relevant (if you read your bible outside of your preachers finger) to read 1 Ki 18 27:29 where Elijah mocked the prophets of Baal who praying and begging for their god to burn the sacrifices. Elijah tells them "perhaps your god is on the toilet..." HA! HA!

Why would any reasonable person want a man who follows a 'g'od who tells him to forgive others yet worships this very same 'g'od will torture most of his family, friends and loved ones forever? Can you even spend 30 seconds grasping that thought? That is a sick, twisted and perverted core belief in Huck that does and will taint every thought and decision this man has. He's NO DIFFERENT in what makes him tick than aminijenahd of Iran....

Nothing personal against you or Huck because you cannot help it. God meant it for His purpose

I Thess. 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Another enigma for you and your pastor to explain away with vain reasoning....

"Depraved"
Richard Brookhiser said it best: “Christians complain that pop culture depicts them as canting scoundrels, but they do not reflect that the type is maintained in part by real examples. Huckabee’s faux-naïve riff on Romney’s Mormonism and the siblings of Lucifer was slick, vulgar, and depraved — the image of the man who uttered it.” http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ZGJhOTlmOWRlMmE2YTlhO DQyYzMxNGVlZmQ2NGVkMTU=&w=MA==

The reason
I consider Romney's adds negative are because they give only limited facts, take Huckabee's actions as governor out of contest and in general distort the truth so as to turn people away from Huckabee because half-truths are very close to lies. If you want to support a candidate who thinks the only way he can win is by distorting his opponents' records, it says more about you than Huckabee.

So, Pharoh
I take it you do not believe in hell?

People
I lived in Arkansas. I know that what they are saying about Huckabee's governorship, is true!!

At the moment I live in Okla, but just a few miles from the Arkansas line, and receive ll of my local news from Arkansas.

So I know that he called those that wanted to check everyone as to whether they were legal, before they could vote. Huckabee called them racists and bigots for wanting to check them before voting, to make sure they were not illegal aliens. He bragged about the fact that Tyson Foods employed over 40,000 illegal aliens. He wanted to give illegals in state tuition. He even tried to give them scholarships. Something our own vets couldn't get!! It was not to take "care of the children" as he said!!!

He almost destroyed the conservatives in Arkansas, and left the Republican party in shambles. It was well known that they said there were three parties in Arkansas, the Republican party, the democrat party and the Huckabee party.
He is a vendictive little hypocrite, don't ever cross him, he will get you by subtly.
I hate that the likes of Huckabee and McCain can fool the people so easily.

No such thing in as eternal torture hell as preached by the scoundrels on the pulpit in the Bible.

Everlasting and forever were translated from the greek AION of which we have a perfectly acceptable word called EON...which always denotes a beginning and end.

There is also no word in the Hebrew or Greek Manuscripts that should be translated into the English word "hell". But since your deceived pastors and theologians do so against all laws of language, lets look at Scripture from the Old Testament Hebrew and one Scripture from the New Testament Greek where Jesus indeed does GIVE US VICTORY OVER (this supposed) HELL!

If you know anything at all about Hebrew or Greek, then you know that in Hebrew the word which the Translators of the King James translated into the English word "hell" THIRTY TIMES, is the Hebrew word "sheol." In other words, to the King James translators, "sheol" IS "hell." Now then let's read Psalm 49:15:

"But God will REDEEM MY SOUL from the power of THE GRAVE: for he shall receive me. Selah."

The word "grave" in this verse is the Hebrew word "sheol" [even my KING JAMES margin says that this word in Hebrew is sheol], which is translated "hell" in no less than THIRTY other verses. So if "sheol" really is "hell" then there is "REDEMPTION" FROM HELL. (I can hear your sacred cow sizzling now)

Now the Greek. I Cor. 15:55:

"O death, where is thy sting? O GRAVE, where is thy VICTORY?"

The word "grave" in this verse is the Greek word "hades" [even my KING JAMES margin says that this word in Greek is hades], which is translated "hell" in no less than TEN other verses. So if "hades" really is "hell" then there is "VICTORY" OVER HELL.

Huckabee is a likeable guy, but.....
every time I see him, I smell the stench of Jimmy Carter.

The title Useful Idiots is fitting for
MacKinnon and all the columnists on TH who have become a political PAC for Romney by running columns that are pro-Romney or against other candidates.

Romney is the first Republican candidate to run attack ad's! Calling them comparison ad's is disingenuous, or an outright mischaracterization.

Like Romney's ad's, the pundit/columnists here on TH twist the truth or outright lie about facts in order suit their political agenda.

While they attack other Republicans they ignore Romney's failings....and he has many;

Look at the link below and see how he treats people who ask him questions on the campaign trail. If he treats potential supporters like this because he doesn't agree with them how would he treat other nations with whom he doesn't agree?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY6UTnS6Z-A

He flip flops on issues. Compare his positions today and how he defends them to the positions he held in the past and how he defended them then.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9IJUkYUbvI&feature=related

Romney attacks other candidates who challenge him for the lead in the race for being soft on immigration. In a debate he cited the August 2006 CRS Report for Congress which listed New York as a sanctuary city. What he didn't mention was that the same report lists Cambridge and Orleans MA as sanctuary cities too. If he is so hard on immigration why didn't he take state level action as Governor to stop the sanctuary city practices in Mass?

http://www.ilw.com/immigdaily/news/2006,0912-crs.pdf (NOTE: read the list at the bottom of page 30 and you will see there are none listed for Arkansas)

Finally, there are news reports available from the time Romney was governor that describe Massachusetts state agencies being mismanaged (the toll road agencey) or going through budget shortfalls (the state police). I addressed these issues in my latest blog entry.

http://christopherparisho.townhall.com

Oh, and the thing with Huckabee
and McCain....

Maybe they are just doing what Romney can't, which is be respectful of the other fellow candidates.

As evidenced by many columns published here and the comments left by some readers, respect for each other is a quality and trait we as a nation and party are loosing.

We can disagree and still maintain respect and civility towards each other.

Let us avoid turning into conservative versions of those seen at MoveOn and DailyKos.

RK writes:
...there were 1002 OTHER pardons and commutations...what did those criminals do that we don't know about?

***

If you look at the facts, which I bet you aren't because the correct number is 1058 per the Arkansas Secretary of State office, some of the pardons and commutations he made were to those on death row, and he only pardoned or commuted the sentence of death. In those cases they stayed in prison as life or multiple life sentence criminals.

Others were people who got into minor legal trouble in their youth, but now as upstanding adults with responsibilities found it hard to get past their old conviction on employment background checks. His logic as he explained it in a Dec. 19 interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe was;

A lot of (the pardons) that I gave were for 35-year-old single moms with kids who wanted to get a job anywhere in a nursing home emptying a bed pan, but because of the background check couldn't because when they were 18 they'd written a hot check. Now, if I'd played politics with all those people, I wouldn't have ever granted one single clemency, not one. But this shouldn't be about playing politics with people's lives. It ought to be about looking at every case with honesty, making decisions. And, yes, sometimes they don't turn out so brilliantly. I've made mistakes. But I've tried to make the mistake on the ledger of thinking what would be in the best interest of all of us. Do I want this person unemployed for the rest of their life?

For someone who you say will not debate the issues he sure appeared to be addressing them above and here also:

Maybe it is the difference of being asked questions rather than being attacked. When asking questions one would be listening to the answer, when attacking one tends to ignore the answer.

Oh and....RK writes:
The line between judiciary and executive branches is the most basic of all Democratic principles......

****

And what is that line? The two are never to cross paths?

Sometimes the judiciary makes mistakes, for example the Kelo case before the Supreme Court last summer. When mistakes happen the elected leaders have the power to grant pardons or commutations or all or part of a conviction.

Furthermore the Legislatures and Congress have the power to draft and pass laws which correct judicial misinterpretation of existing laws.

And BTW, we live in a Republic, not a democracy.

So Huckabee wins Iowa
I doubt he can keep up the momentum, especially in New Hampshire.

He may be able to pull the wool over the eyes of people in states like Arkansas and Iowa, but the folks in New Hampshire are a little more sophisticated, and won't buy his flip-flopping.

They will see him for the charlatan he is and tell him to hit the road.

And for all you folks who think this column is a hit piece on Huckabee...grow up.

Huckabee attempted an old political trick and it backfired on him. His intentions in "pulling" the ad were not honorable. He isn't a good person. He is a manipulative, dishonest, abusive creep. He boasts of repeatedly beating the Clintons--only because he has first-hand experience with how they operate.

"A servant of the enemy would look fairer, and feel fouler."

McHucka Smear by Douglas McKinnon
Why on earth is this guy writing columns for what is suppose to be a conservative web site. Here he takes our guy Mike to task for all this bull and I can not believe he even gets published here. Mike Huckabee is the only genuine and fathful canidate out there and we, as they did in Iowa last night, should be rallying around this wonderful candidate.

I hope Mr. McKinnon enjoys crow and shoe leather for breakfast as he should be eating a large portion of both this morning.

Next time keep him at home or send his article to the Hillary web site where they belong.

My friend I will tell you just as I told Douglas. If you are to blind, predjudice or both to see the true Mike Huckabee then take your junk talk and bashing and go write over at Hillary's or Romney's. You have no business here. Most of us true conservatives embrace an honest, sincere and faithful candidate like Mike. He is not perfect but he is who he is and not some slicked up, flip flopping, double talking sleaze bag. Have you ever considered he might have just had a change of heart nad went with it??? I guess that is to radical an idea for your liberal conservative mindset.

I read somewhere that you supported Romney.
Talk about a farce. What are you going to do when his mormon leader, The Prophet Joesph Smith(dead by the way but still in control), further brainwashes Mitt to believe that the spaceships are finally coming and it is time to launch the nukes??? You have to be insane, stupid or both to support this mixed up, flip flopped man.

I hear they have an opening on the Edwards campaign if you need a place to write. Need tickets??? There on me!

More Poor Analysis
I am just so glad to see that so many conservatives are seeing right through it. Rush/Coulter/etc. are way off.

I am pumped about Huckabee myself, and this has only increased my desire to speak out for him.

Dustin Mann
Here Here Dusitn! If we stick together maybe we can open some eyes of the conservative commentators that keep blasting Mike. He is a solid Christian that lives by what he believes and what he says. No one is perfect and Mike knows he is not but he is genuine.

The problem with all these liberal, so called conservatives, is they have lost their bearing and they are scared that some true moral conviction may take back our country and put it back where it belongs....With us, the majority.

Do not be quiet about this!!!Shout it to the masses and for once let us vote our convictions and not for money, convenience or political folly!!!!

Go Mike Go!!!!!!

Rush
explained quite clearly why he thought Huckabee was not conservative. Several different times. He also said that the supporters of Huck wouldn't hear him. He is right there, also. He played part of Huck on the Leno show which showed quite clearly that Huck is not a true conservative. He is more centrist. Believe me, I ain't voting for him. And it has NOTHING to do with his religion. And everything about being a true conservative.
