Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The Islam-O-Fascists must be happier than a pig in fresh mud as they watch our nation become more cleaved than Pam Anderson’s hooters. I’m certain the terrorists, both here and abroad, are having a good jihadic giggle over a smoldering hookah as they view our wilting will to war.

Yeah, I bet Bin Laden is blowing blond Lebanese smoke rings right now, as his group regroups with fresh enthusiasm regarding how they can kill us while we’re embroiled in a divisive, political whizzing match over what to do with people who want to kill us.

They are probably sharpening their scimitars on their whet stone even as I write this, while some of their thicker ones try on their new suicide bomber jackets and still others wait for FedEx to deliver a fresh supply of plutonium to their Afghani bat cave.

As a conservative, I’ve got issues that are obviously very important to me . . . stuff that I’ll fight over, split over—and a couple I’ll die/kill for; however, my primary concern since 9/11 is that we continue to have a nation to debate and divide in.

Sure, I want my presidential vote getter to be on the same page as me and my many issues. As a matter of fact, I’d like him to hire me as one of his top advisors and supply me with an all access pass to the White House gun room, cigar lounge and mini bar.

But since the Islamic radical butt monkeys attacked us five+ years ago and are currently conjuring up ways to eclipse their last assault, the main thing I’m looking for in America’s next el Capitan is that he will crush those who are trying to end this great American experiment and will do it on their turf and on our terms.

This means I’m not voting by looks, smoothness or pet political peripheral obsessions. I am officially a one-issue man this go round. The issue that drives me now is our country’s right to life.

I don’t care if the next president . . .

• has excellent hair or a bad comb over,

• grins ‘til his teeth are dry or looks ticked off all the time,

• has superior body language or blinks too much,

• spends $400 or $4 to cut his graying follicles,

• is Mormon, Methodist or Martian,

• has been married one time or three,

• has kids who love him or who hate him,

• has a big carbon footprint

• is telegenic or has a face made for radio, and lastly,

• believes to the “T” everything about life and marriage I believe.

Frankly Scarlet, I don’t give a damn. Ok, it’s not that I don’t give a damn, it’s just that what I concerned about is very specific: what I need to know is whether the next president elect will keep us protected and seek to throttle those who wish to whittle or nation down to nothing. Primarily, I’m looking for a president who understands how deeply we are hated by radical Islam and what a constant threat they’re going to be to us ‘til Christ returns and one who will effectively mitigate them during his term[s] via diplomacy—and if that doesn’t work, then by death.

Me 'n you, Doug!
Does sealing the borders fit in here, too?

TRUE TRUE
What Americans should see is a documentary called "What The West needs to Know". There is not one news staion in America that would show it. It documents all about Sharia law and Islam.
It is not a "peaceful religion" as Bush and other politicians have stated. It is violent and there is no room for any tolerancee. What you here them say and what they believe are two different things. This film includes one ex terrorist who said that Muslims actually jumped for glee over 9/11. But thye would not show that face to infidels. Deciet is ok in Islam as long it involves the spreading of the faith. Islam is a political force more than a personal religion.

Clearly the difference
Between a true Conservative and the neo-cons. I share your concerns.

Islam & global warming
Islamic pigs attempt to scare the world into joining them in their commitment to satan, that they may all join to experience "global warming" in the after life.

(To a true Coservative/constitutionalist, a neo-con is a RINO, while to a liberal/marxist, a neo-con is a true Conservative/constitutionalist.)

Lynne
Quite correct.

It seems the Dems haven't got the message, though, as they continue to call the War against IslamoFascism the "Mess in Iraq".

Reid/Pelosi seem to think it's all a matter of paying danegeld to the right groups of terrorists and they will all go back to selling their wares and grooming their camels in the bazaars of the middle east.

The first Republican who can stand up and say in a clear and loud voice, "We will fight!", will win the election in '08.

Lynne; DavidMac

I'm with Doug -- and you guys. I don't care who wins the nomination as long as he has the mental capacity to understand that we are truly at war. And not just in Iraq. Also, he must be persuasive enough to get all the knuckleheads (like Reid and his ilk) to realize that our enemies are really, truly out to get us. They want our land. They want your house. They want everything they don't destroy in the process of acquiring it.

We need to start remembering that filthy, despicable OBL and henchmen sitting around (in a cave? -- how enchanting!) and laughing about the towers coming down. They succeeded beyond their wildest dreams in creating havoc and changing us into a nation through which a vein of anger is about to pop.

We'd better get our act together, work together, and become a real nation again. One with safe borders, yes. One with safe borders from any madmen (or -women) who wish to do us harm, either physically or monetarily, or both.

Doug:
you appear to be young enough to sign up.
Go for it buddy!

Baldy
I used to agree that we needed to seal the borders, but I am rethinking that now. Here's the reason why... a sealed border, while keeping out the illegal aliens, also would serve to keep US in. Just something I have been pondering.

Perhaps a better approach would be to build fences in high traffic areas, so that the border guards could better focus on other areas, and take away the financial incentives for illegal aliens to come here in the first place. In other words, stop all the free handouts, end birthright citizenship, and significantly penalize employers who hire illegal aliens. Don't you think that would solve the vast majority of the problem? And of course, ICE should start doing their jobs and deporting illegals found in our country.

Lynne
Our country is very near bankruptcy. What do you think should be done about that serious "domestic issue"?

Liberty
There is nothing to prevent our noble representatives in the hallowed halls of the greatest debating society in the world (says them) to deal with the Jihadis and on-coming financial disaster at the same time. From their stanpoint, they are dealing with it. They are insulating themselves from the results of their self-serving misfeasance by protecting their own pensions and perks quite separately from those which we mere voters must deal with.

Mormon, Methodist or Martian
Another great article by a talented writer.

dillweed:
Newsflash: they have a "turf"; it's called
"the Middle East".

Pay attention, before you and I have to bury
more of our fellow citizens.

Lynne -- So Right!

Yes, I did forget about that little thing called intelligence when talking to all the knuckleheads about how serious our enemies are about doing us in.

It would appear obvious that Reid would have to be eliminated from such conversations -- or debates -- along with Pelosi and not a few of their cohorts.

In another comment somewhere I suggested that Reid would be the perfect one to fill Rosie's seat -- that he would have that little edge of experience in pretending to be knowledgeable about at least a few matters.

Or maybe that the seat be filled with a chimp; I believe chimps have enough sense to be embarrassed at times, but they don't flaunt their intelligence.

Anyhow, we need to find a common ground where we can become united once more against the specter of the Islam-O-Fascists.

Lynne
Thank you for the remark to greg. People like him remind me of that quote from John Stuart MIll about cowards who enjoy freedom only because of the efforts of "better men". Didn't Shakespeare talk about the men who "hold their manhood cheap" in Henry V? Guess "men" like greg have been always with us.

Coward
Giles is a neo-con.

So, who's he endorsing in this editorial? Giuliani, a liberal by any other name.

"what I need to know is whether the next president elect will keep us protected and seek to throttle those who wish to whittle or nation down to nothing."

Okay, first, don't care if the next Prez will keep us protected. Screw fighting defensive wars. I want the next Prez to go out there and fight for America. No more democracy building, but empire building. I want a President who recognizes that the enemy is Islam, not "radical extremists".

"..those who wish to whittle our nation down to nothing..." moreso than the moslems, that's the liberals and neo cons right in this country. You're willing to surrender the domestic battle for the foreign one. That's like, on Dec 8th, 1941 saying, "Forget Japan! We've got to stop those darn Italians!"

I will NO LONGER compromise my vote to vote for the enemy in hopes he will act in my best interest. I trusted that neocon Bush, and he loves Iraqis and Mexicans more than he loves his countrymen. So, no, toe the line of my agenda or get somebody else's vote.

Oppose abortion.
Oppose hate crime legislation.
Oppose amnesty for illegal aliens.
Favor execution of illegal aliens, and imprisonment for those who hire them.
Favor deporting anchor babies with their parents.
Favor an elimination of all the unConstitutional gun-control laws.
Appoint extremely conservative judges who refuse to "interpret" the Constitution for the ignorant masses.
When a candidate has a history of making the right noises on these issues (and a few others) I will support him. I will NOT sell out my society on the false notion that I have to sacrifice my domestic agenda in order to win the war. That's a slippery slope favored by tyrants throughout history. It's like the concept of a 'temporary' tax.

It will do no good to win the war on the foreign Jihadi front and lose on the domestic liberal front.

FINAL SOLUTION 2 Muslim Problem

Having successfully avoided the first threat to freedom posed by Communism, with limited conflict, we’re now on a collision course with an ideology that’s been simmering for hundreds of years and is now about to explode. From reading excerpts from the Koran, it’s clear that its teachings allow no room for Moslem and Western culture to coincide peacefully. But for hundreds of years, there was little the Moslem world could do to enforce their beliefs and dominate the technically and militarily superior West. The brief attempt of Moslem incursion into Southern Europe proved ultimately unsuccessful. Over the past 85 years, Western nations have only exacerbated the problem of animosity between these two conflicting cultures with a long series of disastrous foreign policies, including a litany of lies, deceit, political manipulations, and undermining of Mideast governments, fostering corruption, and a host of political intrigues which have incurred Islam’s undying hatred of Western culture. But to say we have only ourselves to blame is only part of the picture. Our betrayal of the Moslem world did not bring about the ultimate conflagration which is about to happen; it only hastened its coming. This is a train wreck which started down the tracks with the first edition of the Koran. But until the 21st Century, the Moslem world, now amounting to almost 2 billion people, lacked the technical and economic power to challenge us. Now, with access to such power, imbued with the teachings of the Koran and instilled with a hatred of the West which can no longer be appeased, and for which we are partially responsible, our fate has been cast. The West has painted itself into a corner. The time for apologies or to correct our misdeeds done to the Moslem world is long past. We are now faced with one undeniable fact. We have created a Frankenstein monster which has but one objective: the destruction of Western Civilization. But unless we take preemptive action, our civilization is at risk and may not survive unless this monster is destroyed. And the longer we wait, the narrower becomes our window of opportunity for its destruction.

So now we must acknowledge the elephant that sits in our living room. We must rethink our priorities and reexamine our moral compass. We must think the Unthinkable. Unless we initiate a war of total annihilation and ethnic cleansing, our civilization is doomed. Moslem philosophy is incompatible with Western culture. Such a war must include the annihilation of all Muslim Nations and the systematic extermination of all individuals who adhere to the Moslem faith. By allowing them to survive, we risk their descendants taking up the holy cause of jihad, and once again threatening our existence. In addition, all books and documents advocating the teachings of Islam must be destroyed. No remnant of this diseased culture must remain to infect future generations. If this sounds similar to the political agenda of The Third Reich, you’re right. I make no apologies for it. The Final Solution for a new would order; cleansed of Semites, was conceived 70 years ago. The only mistake the Nazis made was selecting the wrong tribe of Semites to exterminate. Jews were never the real threat. As extreme as this solution might initially appear, the consequences of doing nothing are unthinkable. We’re faced with a course of action that goes against our Judeo-Christian teachings. But there’s no alternative. We must now acquire a certain moral flexibility to allow us to do what was once thought to be unthinkable. We must act soon before it‘s too late. We must initiate THE FINAL SOULTION TO THE MUSLIM PROBLEM.

Islamo Fascism
Fascism!. That word was coined by Benito Mussolini, dictator of Italy (1921-1943) and his point of references were the fasces (a bundle of birch rods tied together with a red ribbon forming a cylinder around an ax, symbol of Roman magistrates’ authority) when he intended to start a new Roman Empire.

Dear Mr. Giles,

In that article you referred to our adversaries as: Islamo-Fascists. I submit to you that this description is a contradiction in terms. Islam has nothing to do with Fascism.

Fascism was an exclusive, secular, authoritarian and racist (not necessarily anti-Semitic, in fact right up to 1937 Fascist Italy was considered philo-Semitic) system. Islam, whatever its faults, is decidedly inclusive, and certainly not racist, everyone must submit to Allah (the merciful and compassionate), at the point of a sword if need be and though it is religiously authoritarian (as any religion must be), it certainly is not in political terms.

We are not fighting Fascists; we fought them, wiped the floor with them and hung them up to dry. Our mortal enemy is Jihadistan and they mean to win.

Are they winning? Well, just try to board an airplane or enter a Federal building and the question answers itself. As for term ‘Fascists’ a word once fully understood as a political system that men could either accept or reject, it has become a meaningless and vulgar term of abuse.

Gresham’s Law applies to words as well.

The principle elements of Fascist ideology are laid out in the Manifesto of the Fascist Struggle were as follows:

1- Nationalism;
2- Economic centralization with progressive taxation;
3- Subordination of Church to State;
4- Expansionist militarism; and
5- Political equality for women.
unquote

I put it to your good judgment that with, the possible exception of the 4th item, Fascism is antithetical to Islam.

E. David Litvak

Are the "children" scared yet?
"nolongersilent" fears Im scaring the children.

Well, "children" of all ages should be scared if they were aware of what Islamic Fundamentalists have planned for us "Infidels". And I apologize for calling them "Fascists". According to the definition by "Eld", which I agree with, they're not. However, this definition of "Fascism" comes uncomfortably close to describing present conditions in the US.
NOW you're scaring the children.

Islam-o-facists
Wow. Good way to spell that one. I agree with you Doug....My only two issues in this election are keep up the fight until the WOT is won. And seal up the damn borders!!!

So whomever gets to be "fearless leader" in 2008, needs to make those two issues his top priorities.

I don't care about divorces, mormonism, blah, blah either. Stick to those two issues and keep the pressure on the dead-enders living in their bat caves.

wow
Here’s a guy who claimed his made up religion and self-serving god came above all else. Now, he’s willing to throw all that aside for protection. It’s funny what fear will do to a man; and he has all those weapons and loves to kill things too. Well, well….

No, seriously, how does Doug’s opinion look now after the latest statement released by the islamo-facists.

MikeR
What are you talking about? Who's made up religion? If you're referring to the columnist, I think the main point is that the Commander in Chief's main job is the protection of this country. National security is priority #1. W/o that, nothing else will matter as we will cease to be a free nation. We can't afford to lose this war.

Doug's pretty much nailed it - - -
I sometimes worry about those extreme, "professional social conservatives" view as important.

Talk about misplaced priorities -- no, the hard right is so wrapped up in the cloak of anti-choice, anti-gay stuff and wishing to outlaw the Morning After pill while looking into bedroom windows, they fail to see the #1 point -- we need a strong, kick-butt guy who's not afraid to actually WIN, 'n maybe break a few things in the process of making this world a tad safer than it is today.

Pardon the vernacular, but, as usual, their priorities suck! If we fail to get a "take-no-prisoners" kinda guy as president, all those hardline religious types won't matter at all -- they'll be targets for beheadings and stonings just like the rest of us.

In fact, anyone who'd place ANY topic ahead of national security (and our incumbent president has done an absolutely miserable job with his pathetic leaky borders, "Amnesty-Lite," lousy choices of McClellanist generals; not actually winning in Iraq -- caving in to Political Correctness and the like) has gotta be nuts and totally unworthy of my vote. I've read, seen and experienced sufficient wishy-washy Pablum Puke to last several lifetimes, thank you.

And, maybe Rudy Guiliani isn't the guy? But, as of now, he appears to be the only one with the brass cojones necessary to right the wrongs of Dubya, Nancy, Trent, Teddy, Harry and the Blah Bunch presently in Washington.

Reemphasizing, the only thing the bad guys understand and fear is STRENGTH, period. Today, I see no other choice. None.

THE "HEADS" OF THE BEAST
I AM NEW TO THIS......SO I BEG YOUR INDULGENCE.....AND I GATHER THAT CUT AND PASTE, AS A TACTIC, IS NOT ENCOURAGED.......BUT THE FOLLOWING, FROM THE DR.SANITY.COM WEBSITE, I FELT WAS APPROPO AND REFLECTED MY FEELINGS QUITE WELL. I SUBMIT IT HERE IN HOPES OF ADDING POSITIVLY TO THE DEBATE/DISCUSSION. ..........

TO WIT......

In each area of conflict--Iraq,
Afghanistan/Pakistan, Syria, Iran,
Lebanon, and Gaza--there are
key individuals (Sadr, Bin Laden
& Zawahiri, Assad, the mullahs &
Ahmadinejad, Nasrallah; and all
the lesser potentates) who need
to be "deterred" with extreme
prejudice and sent to their
promised reward with Allah. It is
either target them as individuals;
or, we must be prepared for the
catastrophic deaths they will
inflict both on us and their own
people.
We are talking of preventing the
death of millions of innocent
lives that would be forfeit if
these fanatical madmen are
allowed to continue leading
their followers on holy genocidal
missions. Chances are that the
egotistical maniacs of Islam have
not truly considered their own
mortality, or that they,
themselves might die--as they
regularly importune their
mindless minions out to do that
dirty jihadi work on their--and
Allah's-- behalf.
What narcissist (particularly the
malignant variety) truly believes
in his own mortality? They see
themselves as gods; special and
protected. That they are mortal
does not occur very often to
them.
Let us remind them.

Just Like A Cop
Can't Afford To Lose A Streetfight,

We can't afford to lose this one. I suspect that due to the limp-wristed perfidy of our quisling brothers on the left it will get bloodier before it's over.

Perhaps when the last raghead terrorist falls, he will fall with his greatest allies, the American Euro-wannabe leftists.

As Alfred E. Newman put it, "With friends like these, who needs enemies?"

Islams' FINAL SOULTION to US
An Islamic world theocracy is already in the planning stage. I predict no more terrorist attacks on the scale of 9/11, as there's no longer a need. The downfall of the U.S. has already begun and is based on economic melt down; not direct physical attack. I'm a retired Naval Officer, and former Pentagon Staff Officer. I've discussed the following scenario with other former Staff Officers, now retired. All concur the scenario outlined below, is likely.

Stage 1: The war in Iraq, now an out of control Civil war, has only 1 outcome, regardless of whether we withdraw now or "stay the course". We will not reconcile differences between Shiites and Sunnis that have existed for hundreds of years, and only aggravated by our presence. Fundamentalists in Iraq are now being supplied with arms from Syria and Iran, and financial support from Saudis citizens who hate not only the U.S. but their own government which collaborates with us. Iraq will never be "stabilized'. We will be forced to withdraw soon after the next election, or, as is already happening, tire of the drain of military personnel and economic resources. Ultimately, the Fundamentalists will win.

Stage 2: A Fundamentalist takeover of Iraq will happen within weeks of our withdrawal, as there will be little or no resistance from US trained Iraqi troops. Once this happens, the North East border of Saudi Arabia, once protected by US occupation, will open. Massive amounts of arms will flood the country, into the hands of the majority of citizens who hate the Saudi Royal family for collaborating with the equally hated US. A coop is inevitable and will likely occur within a few months after the fundamentalist takeover of Iraq. Once this happens, all neighboring states, such as Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, & Qatar, will be "invited" to join the new Fundamentalist Coalition. This Coalition will then control 70 to 80 % of the worlds oil supply. And it's an economic law that the major supplier controls the price and distribution.

Stage 3: This new Muslim Fundamentalist OPEC will now "invite" other oil producing nations to join. Venezuela and Muslim dominated Indonesia and Malaysia will show little or no resistance. Within 2 years after the fall of Iraq, the New OPEC will control over 90 % of the worlds oil supply.

Stage 4: The New OPEC will then state the terms of sale to the rest of the oil dependent world, which will include a prohibition of resale to the US and nations seen as "uncooperative" with Muslim Fundamentalist agendas.

Stage 5: U.S. oil reserves are approximately 90 to 120 days. We have no adequate fall back energy resources, nor can any be implemented within the above timetable. From there we plunge into the economic abyss.

The above scenario could take place within the next few years. So is there a Plan "B" to avert this? Yes. (See previous post – “FINAL SOLUTION to ISLAMIC PROBLEM”).

So, let me get this straight.
Now we will support a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, homosexual, atheist, transvestite, as long as he/she/it promises to wipe out the islamo-facists.

Afsarge: I’m talking about Doug’s religion, of course. He had to form his own church because no one else offered a good enough interpretation of Christianity. Visit his site and check it out. It’s pretty good.

Republicans defect to the Obama camp

The GOP is falling a part on the war! the party does not tolerates any opposition to Bush’s plan.It could be tough in 08 for the GOP!Some of you NEOCONMEN should read this and listen not talk so much!

Time-DISILLUSIONED supporters of President George W Bush are defecting to Barack Obama, the Democratic senator for Illinois, as the White House candidate with the best chance of uniting a divided nation.

Tom Bernstein went to Yale University with Bush and co-owned the Texas Rangers baseball team with him. In 2004 he donated the maximum $2,000 to the president’s reelection campaign and gave $50,000 to the Republican National Committee. This year he is switching his support to Obama. He is one of many former Bush admirers who find the Democrat newcomer appealing.

Matthew Dowd, Bush’s chief campaign strategist in 2004, announced last month that he was disillusioned with the war in Iraq and the president’s “my way or the highway” style of leadership – the first member of Bush’s inner circle to denounce the leader’s performance in office.

Although Dowd has yet to endorse a candidate, he said the only one he liked was Obama. “I think we should design campaigns that appeal, not to 51% of the people, but bring the country together as a whole,” Dowd said

A poll released by Rasmussen last week showed Obama overtaking Clinton for the first time by 32% to 30%.

Dream on bud. One ex-Bush supporter or even a few leaving Bush, represent themselves and no one else. So who cares. Conservatives back whomever they want to.

Before Obama does anything, he'll have to get by Clinton's political leg-breakers, and I don't think he can do it. Hillary will get the nod.

Then she'll lose the general election by 10 points.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE
MIKE

You certainly are not short on either opinions or words............and you express yourself very authoritivly.........nice work.........

HOWEVER.......both your outlook on the "Islamic Master Plan" being ultimatly successful, and your "final solution" of extermination I think qualifies you as what the nutroots might describe as in the"Wingnut" catagory......do you and/or any of your "ex-staff" members ever dwell on any outcomes or solutions that sane Americans could live with?..........Just wondering.......

Konop
Please explain exactly what platform a candidate would need to appeal to more than 51% of the population. I can only think of one or two things that would "bring the country together as a whole". What exactly constitutes bringing the country together, is that 55%, 65% or 95% of the population?

I'm sorry, but there is a significant distrust of politicians and I don't see anyone, Obama included, that makes me think, "Wow, that is the most honest person I've ever seen." Now, once we find that person for president, we only have to find another 635 to replace the whacko's in Congress. Do we have 636 honest people in the US that could be elected?

Mike
Not bad. The plan for Islamic domination is laid out nicely in their version of Mein Kampf: The Koran.

If the libs were reading anything from the "Egyptian Brotherhood", Hamas or Hizbollah, they'd see that you are pretty much on target.

And to think that the "Grand Mufti" of Jerusalem got it all started prior to WWII. Amazing.

Good work Mike.

Anybody else that's interested can read anything by Ergun and Mehmet Caner, Brigitte Gabriel or Nonie Darwish. Or, read Robert Spencer's book if you haven't already done so.

- Or -

Get the movie "Obsession". Mike's no nutcase. He's right on the money.

NEOCONMEN AND DEATH OF THE GOP IN 08!!
ctjaeger

I did not post this to get support for Obama, just to point out to the NEOCONMEN that they are killing the GOP!

Back to your question, I think a Lou Dobbs type platform would get more than 51% of the vote. The problem is lobbyist money changers in Washington would not want supprt the platform. And will spend big money to stop it!

Do you not find it strange that both front runner Hillary and Giuliani agree on most issues relative to immigration and trade?

Question for Charleston?
They have been killing and terrorizing each other since 700 AD. And you want to wait them out?

Lynne
Yep. Miller is a pretty astute guy these days.

Solution for Iraq!

Re: "POSITIVE ATITUDE"
Maverick/Searcher2 asks the following question:
"do you and/or any of your "ex-staff" members ever dwell on any outcomes or solutions that sane Americans could live with?.....":

Excellent question. And I wish I had a reasonable and "Livable" answer. If you have one, I'd like to hear it. I’ve tried to think of a way out of this depressing scenario, but so far have come up with no reasonable alternatives. I truly wish I could. Suggestions welcome and encouraged.

Am I to believe you buy Mikes "scenario" in it's totality? You say he is "right on the money"...so I guess you believe that the US will sit this series of events out and do nothing to counter the arm twisting of other nations in the area to join up with the Islam-o-facsists plan? You believe that we have no power left in the area to discourage such actions? We just sit helplessly by and watch it all happen? and then we just drop into the "economic abys" without so much as a whimper.........Well.....if thats the wayn you see it, thats the way you see it...but it's not a scenario I would buy into on my most negative of days......

Sane Response Islams' "FINAL SOLUTION"??

Maverick/Searcher2 again asks if I have a “sane” / “livable” solution. And again I say; regretfully, NO. I’m retired from the Military as are my former associates, although we correspond. So we’re out of the loop as far as current intel is concerned. My belief re: the depressing scenario I’ve outlined is that we are on a collision course to a war that will encompass the entire Mideast and possibly the world. And the coalition that launches a preemptive strike will likely be the “winner”. And I use that term loosely. This is my personal opinion, not shared by all my former associates. However, none have come up with a “Livable / Sane” alternative. One person who recently posted here asks if the U.S. will just sit by without responding, while the scenario I described unfolds. Exactly my point; and NO, since the ultimate objective of Islam is known. But what response could there be, other than one leading to another Mideast war. Once again; if you have a more “livable” / “sane” solution to this scenario, we’re all waiting to hear it. I’m fresh out of ideas.

RE: SUGESTIONS WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED

MIKE

You have obviously put much time and analysis into your posts......and while I reject both your "final solution" and your analysis of the inevatability of the success of the Islamofacsist "master plan".......I DO share your overiding intense concern with the growing threat of the teachings of Islam...(as interpreted by the "fundamentalists").....

The only thing I have to offer to you along the lines of suggestions is my previous post at 11:17am (above)..........somewhat less draconian in it's scope and, I feel, practical and realistic. Plus, it has the advantage of not requiring that we completely dispense with our moral and ethical values......I tend to not be cavalier when it comes to that........but that's just me.

Perhaps somewhere down the road your solution will meet with a desperate America in the throws of the predicted "fall into the abys" that you forsee, and the administration in power at this time will see no other way........but to suggest that we should hurry along and get started on this course of action now is, I think, both irresponsible and dangerous. You are a great thinker Mike.........please, I know you can do better.......spend some more time on this......THINK POSITIVE.

LYNNE

I think you did misunderstand.....in view of THIS post, let me know.

Re: "THE HEADS OF THE BEAST"
Maverick/searcher2:

Yes. I'm in complete agreement that one of your Present and Prime objectives should be targeting and elimination of Islamic Fundamentalist leaders. So how many years have we been trying to eliminate Osama with out success? As for Assad and other Islamic heads of State, unfortunately, present diplomatic protocol forbids this. It's just not "Politically Correct". (Please note sarcasm). And what if we could find and eliminate all the “obvious” Heads of the Beast. The problem is that there’s an overabundance of hatred, (much of it we’re responsible for), in the Muslim world. I know. I've lived there. Cut off one head and many more grow in its place. Killing The BEAST is more difficult than you imagine. Yes, we must continue to pursue this objective. But diplomatic and physical impediments make it likely that before we eliminate even a few more heads, time will have run out, and the Islamic Master Plan will have reached a phase where we're in a no win situation. Again; I hope I’m wrong. Please show me that I am.

LYNNE...RE: HELP ME OUT HERE
You know Lynne, I have read many of your posts in the past and have always been pretty much on your side of things........especially that time, sometime back, when you were the target of a bunch of lefties with no one there to take up your side with you......(i was a reader, not a poster at the time and didn't come to your rescue......I regret that) Anyway, I know you to be a stickler on the point of addressing the point of the article......and not getting off on tangents. My apologies......

What I understood as Doug's point in his column is this:

"Primarily, I’m looking for a president who understands how deeply we are hated by radical Islam and what a constant threat they’re going to be to us ‘til Christ returns and one who will effectively mitigate them during his term[s] via diplomacy—and if that doesn’t work, then by death."

And, I agree with this

OK....I AGREE WITH THIS AS WELL........What do you see in any of my posts that would lead you to believe otherwise? I am STILL at a loss.....my original post dealt with a possible way of "mitigating them during his term". the others dealt with what I considered draconian alternatives to same and with a forcast of the future that had Islam winning the war by sending us and the rest of the free world into an induced fall into economic ruin. Where do we disagree? Am I not making myself clear? I'm open to suggestions.......

WHAT CAN WE DO?
All things considered......as Lynne said.....the original article dealt with electing a PRESIDENT THAT RECOGNIZES THE THREAT and that would be prepared to deal with it diplomaticly, and if necessary, pretty much by ANY nmeans necessary.

The point here, is that THAT, will not be in our future if the lunitic, Chamberlain like left has it's way........THAT, is our war at home, and THAT is all we as individuals can do.......ie...work as hard as we can to ensure that the defeatocrats don't get to elect our next commander in chief........(perish the thought).....If we don't do THAT, we will have only ourselves to blame

the old testament is just as violent
If you read the old testament it is just as violent and bloody and calling for killing unbelievers as the koran. Again it depends on who is interperting the message. Extremism is the problem. The so called leaders of these extremists groups are the problem and yes all religions have them. Hence it is always a good thing to question authority especially politicians and religious leaders.

Charleston
Agreed. Muslims are a blood cult that needs no prodding from us. Unfortunately, Western diplomatic blunders over the past 90 years have turned much of that inner-directed hate toward us. It’s time we step aside and let Sunnis and Shiites do the job of killing each other. The more the better. We’ve wasted too much in lives and resources doing their job. I believe that once we pull out we still face the problem of a destabilized ME. Regardless of stay or leave; it’s a no win situation. Better to cut our losses, regroup and plan strategy, (if there is one), for the ultimate show down.

Hate and lies
Your "article" has no substance, no facts, just the usual neocon hate and lies. Maybe you would do better if you wrote about the christian-o-fascist invasion of iraq and the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis for no reason other than being Muslim.

Christain-o-facism practiced by the necons is the DANGER that will sink America.

Lynne
Thanks for your intelligent and well thought out comments. I sincerely hope you’re right and my pessimistic scenario is wrong.

‘Hijackers of the conservative movement’
‘Hijackers of the conservative movement’

This is a great article about why many of us have lost all faith in the Republican party. Do you think that Richard Viguerie is wrong about Congress selling out our Country to the lobbyist money changers in Washington?

RAW STORY-He didn’t support invading Iraq. He says national security decisions are too often made for political gain. And he maintains that Tom DeLay used “legal plunder” for the “immoral purpose of holding onto power.”

A Democrat? No – His name is Richard Viguerie, a conservative icon and key architect of Ronald Reagan’s 1980 victory. Known to many as the godfather of direct-mail campaign fundraising, his four-decade career has succored scores of conservative candidates and grassroots causes.

A balding grandfather with a wry Texan’s smile, Viguerie is a seasoned conservative who confidently brushes aside accusations that his criticism of Republicans is intended for personal gain. On Monday, he sat down with RAW STORY to talk about his new book, Conservatives Betrayed: How George W. Bush and Other Big Government Republicans Hijacked the Conservative Cause.

Lynne: who put Pelosi in power??
Thats right, the American people were fed up with the neoncons sinister agenda and kicked them out of office.
Your opinion or Giles's for that matter is no more valid than anyone else on this board.
This country was also built on slaves blood and the inhalition of native Americans. But that changed over time when people of conscience realized that killing blacks and the natives should no longer be part of christianity.

The neocon fascists use forums like this one to vent fear of Muslim Americans in our communities.

Whatever the neocons motive, they are consistent in their attempts to agitate the reader about Muslims living in the United States and their perceived "threat" to Western civilization.

Furthermore, their zealous coverage of islam or Muslims, including muslim communities in the US is both puzzling and frightening.

Shouldn't you give more attention to the families of the dying soldiers in iraq, or the culture of violence and terror in our schools??

The neocon columnists intent on stirring up negative public opinion against muslims in this country is no less rotten than the ongoing Christian military crusade in the middle east.

Obama Osama whats up?
Can no one tell me why the fact that Obama was raised a Muslim ? I shudder at the thought of a Islamist being President of this once great nation. I have not heard a peep from the MSM on this mans religious beliefs. How has this man been able to keep his background from becoming a topic of discussion? A Allah worshiper as President, how insane is that . I feel like I’m living a bad dream every time I hear Obama and President in the same sentence. May God save us all from this perversion in politics.

Mike nailed is around noon on Monday - -
And with the wimps running things and the Terminal Political Correctness, the Pablum Puke rhetoric I mentioned earlier, we're in very deep trouble. Where's Barry Goldwater when we need him? I'm afraid that Rudy Guiliani's about the closest thing we have when it comes to the much needed courage....
I may relocate to Brazil, or Costa Rica... this sad country is collapsing awfully fast -- yet, it's my children and their children who I worry about --- and there's hardly a thing we can or will do about it.
What a waste!

thank you charleston
Yes the reformation did help to change many things in christianity. Why there needs to be a power struggle among the various faiths in christianity is beyond me. Its like many are saying my god is better than your god or god love us more than you. I come from the belief of one god many paths and no religion has a monopoly on god.

gently99 and lynne
It seems you are saying Doug shouldn't comment on the war, if that be the case maybe only military members should be the only ones o comment. Doug is an American citizen, he has a right to comment.

Mill's statement is as follows: War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill
English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

It seems more fitting of Democrats.

If you want to beat a retreat from this war, I ask then what happens next? Are you willing to be a dhimmi? Does that suit you?

9/11 wasn't the start remember the USS Cole, Khobar Towers, Pan AM Flight 103, The American Emabassies in Africa, no body was bothered by these because the acts took place overseas and it was usually the military taking the hits.

Does anybody think if we just turn Democrat and run that these acts will stop? Does any ever ask why do the terrorist give the Dems their endorsement? Seriously why do you think they get the terrorist endorsement? That would bother me if I were them. I know they see Pres. Bush as a bigger enemy that the terror organizations. Also since Nancy ran over to lick the conjones the terrorist sponsors, I ask how do you negotiate with someone who's starting point is your death and the death of your countrymen?

You produce your CAR's and I might even let you get away with that strawman you pulled. If you want to play by those rules, then how about we just go straight to "Service = Citizenship" and all you non-servers can be "Civilians" instead of Citizens.

Msgt-
Excellent points. I'd add the points I cover regarding the French malaise that helped defeat them in 1940 and our current analogous role of perhaps Sweden in the 30 years war.
