The 'Hillary hostility' factor

Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

WASHINGTON -- Democrats face a potentially disastrous conundrum in the 2008 presidential nominating race: Sen. Hillary Clinton, the front-runner, is the most disliked candidate among her party's contenders.

Despite the strong lead she holds over her closest rivals, the New York senator draws the general electorate's highest negative ratings of anyone in the race, Republican or Democrat, when pollsters ask the voters if they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of each candidate.

A Gallup survey conducted from Aug. 3 to Aug. 5 found that 49 percent of the 1,012 Americans they polled said they had an unfavorable opinion of her, while 47 percent were favorable. Gallup asks this question every year and, since March, Clinton's unfavorable numbers have varied little, rising to 52 percent in April, then 50 percent in June, but generally remaining between 48 percent and 49 percent for most of the year.

Other favorable/unfavorable polls show roughly the same results. "The 'Hillary hostility' factor is constant and feeds doubts about whether she can win in November 2008. That polling perennial -- her unfavorability factor -- remains high," said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

Nearly four months before Democrats troop to their first caucuses and primaries to choose their nominee, they appear to be ready to select Clinton in spite of her unpopularity in the wider electorate. That raises fears among party strategists that, even with the moody political climate offering their party its best chance in years to win back the White House, they may lose the election with a candidate who carries a lot of scandal-ridden baggage from the Clinton years.

"Her disapprovals are the two-ton elephant in the room, but a large part of the party's base seems oblivious to those numbers at this point," one Democratic strategist told me.

Other Democrats express some concern about her high negatives but say she still has time to turn them around.

"People are concerned about her unfavorables, but I think it is way too early to use that as an indicator of what is going to happen in November, should she become the nominee," said Bud Jackson, a Democratic media campaign adviser.

"Right now, these polls are based on what people have already lived through with Hillary Clinton as first lady," Jackson told me. "It's going to be different when she is standing up as the candidate, as opposed to first lady." Still, he added, "I think (the polling numbers) should give you pause, but I don't think it's alarm bells ringing off. There's time and opportunity for Hillary to improve those numbers," he said.

But seasoned campaign reporters say that election history shows that's rarely the case.

"Her negative ratings are higher than those of her husband, former President Clinton, former President George H.W. Bush and 2004 Democratic nominee John Kerry at the end of their campaigns," said Associated Press political writer Ron Fournier, a veteran of many presidential elections.

"A candidate's unfavorability scores almost always climb during campaigns. If the pattern holds, Clinton has a historically high hurdle to overcome," Fournier reported last week.

But more is at stake here than just the presidential race, Democrats said. A weak nominee at the top of the ticket can threaten the party's candidates further down the ballot.

Earlier this year, Markos Moulitsas, whose fiery liberal political blog, Daily Kos, is widely read by Democratic Party activists, said Democrats were increasingly concerned about whether Clinton would hurt the party's other candidates in competitive congressional battleground races if she led the party's ticket.

"Hillary would be a drag on races lower on the ballot. In fact, her potential nomination is already creating all sorts of headaches for Senate and House recruitment efforts in tough states and districts," he wrote.

"This is a dynamic not at play with any of the other serious candidates," he said.

Writing in the National Journal late last month, reporter Marc Ambinder said, "Some Democrats fret about state legislators in marginal districts" if Hillary is the nominee. "And several freshman members of Congress have told their political consultants they're not quite sure what impact Clinton will have."

Another huge manifestation of her weakness as a candidate is in the head-to-head matchups with Republican front-runners. She runs behind or about even with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a wartime climate that is supposed to be favorable to Democrats.

Helping Giuliani to overcome a negative environment for Republicans is a favorability rating of 55 percent and a low unfavorable score of 32 percent, according to a Gallup Poll released Aug. 10.

These numbers suggest that Democrats are not running away with this election, that their front-runner still has huge political obstacles to overcome and that Democrats have a lot of soul-searching to do before they choose who will lead them in next year's election.

When was the last time, if ever, anyone called
you a lady? There are a lot of mean posters
around here, and some meaner than you. But for
some reason, I feel the need to bathe after
I have read a few of your posts. I hope you keep it much, much cleaner in "real life."

The amazing thing is that most of you
are just singing to the choir. There are very
few liberals who show up on this website and
those of us who do are pretty thick skinned.
I don't think there is a one of us who think,
wow, what a bright informed group.

We find the continuous rantings about Hillary
especially disgusting. My guess is that you
don't know one thing about her except what you
hear from each other. Have you ever read her
books? Do you really know what her national
health policy was all about (it was NOT
nationalization, as in the government hiring and
firing doctors, and owning the hospitals and
clinics), are you really that sure that she is
not a true Christian. The things you say are
despicable. If you believe that you have to
answer to any God, you had better KNOW what you
are saying.

I think that you can trust me when I say that
if Kenneth Starr couldn't nail her (because he
gave his heart and soul and the goverment's resources to the task), then there was nothing
to nail her with.

Now, please try to behave yourself.

To all you extremely witty people
If you don't want to see Hillary as president
you had better find yourself a candidate who
has got a worthy National Health Plan or you
will find yourself looking at Hillary every night
on the news for the next eight (nine) years.

The alternative is to kill off all people over
the age of 50 and leave yourself with a population that doesn't spend that much time
worrying about medical bills. I was there once.
But I am not there any more. And guess what.
We oldsters vote - in droves.

P.S.S.
I don't know why 11. It just sort of 'sings?' maybe?

P.S.
News at 11.

St. Goracle
Be careful Wicked Wolf, remember St. Goracle hired Naomi (Wolf) for $15,000 a month to teach him how to be an ? alpha male? like Bill Clinton. He just may lift his leg on your territory. You know, pee on a tree, water a bush, wash a rock. I would have loved to been in on those strategy sessions! I can just hear it now. ...." no,no,NOOOOOOOOOOOO! AL! You have to throw your leg up with "A U T H O R I T Y!!! Here let me show you...
Oops, Sorry big dog, didn't mean to pee on your cavalcade of towering intelects. NOT!
And now we have NASA's little oops, poor Al. I guess the science isn't as settled as he thought.
Then we have Bill in search of a legacy. Don't look now Bubba, but your legacy has already bitten you in the butt. One good thing though Bill, you can choose the one you want, there are after all so many.
Then we have Barny and friend........ you no this isn't even fun any more. It's so pathetic and I'm so depressed; I'm going to pull the cover off of a manhole, ( OOPS, personhole, sorry I forgot)...where was I.... man this being a liberal is confusing, all that flip flopping.....oh yes I was depressed..cover? Oh ya I remember, I was going to commit sewer pipe! Stand back! I'll jump!!!!

Big Dog...got any convictions...
Big Dog I hope you are just ignoring the obvious, rather than ignorant of the obvious. Why no convictions?
Ever heard of Janet (Elion Gonzales) Reno? I'm sorry if I've mis-spelled the unfortunate former Cuban refugee's first name.

Expound Truth

So sorry to hear about your accident -- I hope you have been able to make a full recovery.

By diacriticals, I meant the accents and the tilde in your post.

absolutely Anne!
WE all know Hillary is a disaster. I'm just a little surprised the lefties are so interested in her as a potential candidate. She seems to be the antithesis of their supposed "values".

Pero Grande

you DO realize, don't you, that you are calling yourself a "Big But"?(N.B. one T not two!)

Herself!!!!
Hillary could boil a baptismal font by just walking into the Church!!!!
Did I mention she is also unlikeable!!And we don't elect as POTUS,someone unlikeable.
Re her failing the DC bar..which is reputed to be one of the easiest in the country..she hid this for years..!! Even her best friend did not know it!

Pero Grande
Pero Grande wrote, “Don't be so sensitive - I guess when the left is called traitors, reds, cowards and evil, it starts to build a bit of a callus - so I take it back about the backwardness of the flyover states - what with their creationism and war support and rejection of progressive politics and disdain for American popular culture and their anti-intellectualism, jingoism and gun worship, I sometimes forget that we should respect all peoples...”

Don’t worry about it Pero. I take back all the things I might have said concerning you lefties who drive around in Volvos drinking latte, with a Bush-Lied bumper sticker. You know, the ones who smirk at religious faith & patriotism and consider yourselves oh-so-enlightened; who cannot contain your childish glee in calling Bush a chimp, and who are peeing your pants hoping for defeat in Iraq. The same people who have held a chokehold on the entertainment industry and education for generations. Yes, I too must remember that we must respect all peoples…
And incidently, probably no one in recent history has been labeled ‘evil’ more often than Pres. Bush, by everyone on your side from Hugo Chaves, Cindy Sheehan, to maybe half of the Kos Kiddies.

Shelley, ID?

Left Angle, as I read your post
which began with "Why Repubs/Con REALLY Hate Sen. Clinton", I was struck by how much of it would apply were it to begin "Why Demo/Libs REALLY Hate President Bush."

Interestingly the view is the same from both extremes...

Hank: "...Hillary would sell her soul

to make it to the White house and that most of her liberal friends agree."

I agree, I'm also not too sure she hasn't already. And that is scary.

Anyone THAT driven and power hungry is dangerous. And by comparison, makes Slick Willie look like a bumbling fool.

Dog: re your 3:38pm quote
Any one of those women is far more intelligent & qualified for the White House than Hillary is. Heck, my friends 14 year old daughter is more qualified than Hillary.

compassion
While reading through the posts Inoticed someone (Big dog I think) say that Missus Clinton is compassionate. Would someone please give me more than one instance of this that couldn't be explained away as pure chance?

not even dems. like her
My wife is a democrat and even she can't stand Hillary. Personally, I could care less. Hillary sounds like a "less bad" option compared to some of the others to me. My wife, on the other hand, is absolutely adamant that Hillary not be the party's choice.

She cites Hillary's flip flops regarding Israel and Palestine. Prior to her run for the Senate in New York, Hillary met with Arafat and Palestinian students and endorsed a Palestinian state.

http://telaviv.usembassy.gov/publish/peace/archives/1998/may/me0506b.html

Today she is singing a different tune in order to win Jewish hearts in New York.

My wife claims that Hillary would sell her soul to make it to the White house and that most of her liberal friends agree.

I'm not too sure she hasn't already.

Sheepdog: Excellent link! ;-)
I'd like to think that I'm a "sheepdog."

Oops Anne
sorry spelled your name wrong. you have the same first name as my wife without the e...she hates when people spell her name like that. I did that when we were first dating and she almost ripped my head off.

Anee
Heres a little something special for you.

LeftAngle
If you read the post, the answers are all right there. The reason Clinton didn't get impeached is becuase if any of them voted for the articles of impeachement they'd soon recieve a visit from one of their henchman or they could die of mysterious causes. Read it's all there.
If you did read it what part did you not understand?

largecaliber: If FDT is the Republican

candidate...

I agree! But I don't think it will be an easy campaign, and we can't take it for granted.

I'm just looking forward to a few debates 'cause if Fred deals with the hildabeast as he did Michael Moron in the 38sec. video, he'll have the hildabeast dismissed in minutes. LOL

It will be a beautiful thing! :-)

Pero Grande: NOT exactly!

"Of course you assume Clinton is LYING, but Bush wraps himself in 9/11 like it's a dress, and you drool over it..."

See, here's the thing! Clinton wrote how distraught she was during 911 that Chelsea was in direct danger, jogging around the WTC or some such rot!

If Clinton had written that she was distraught because she didn't know where Chelsea was, and couldn't get in touch with her for hours, then it would have been a different story.

Do you understand the difference???

Anne
If FDT is the repub nomination, hildabeast won't have a chance.

There is more than enough information

and documentation on hitlary that the Republicans could bury hitlary politically...

Just for starters, how about the "Clinton Infamous List of 45...?" That list alone would make the mafia envious!

The question is, will the Republicans bring out the big guns? I sure hope so!!!!

Idaho gal
Do you know where the 'the home of the russets' is?

idaho gal
remember my earlier post. I rest my case about libs

Idaho Gal
I knew I'd forgotten something. :) Oh well, they do say victims of incest suffer from certain handicaps...

Chelsea
We have heard from her, but it surely didn't please her mother.

Hillary wrote an article on how distraught she was during 911 that Chelsea was in direct danger.

Chelsea wrote an article telling about how she was in an apartment on the wealthy NY upper Eastside watching the Twin Towers fall on tv.

The worst thing about that is the truth doesn't bother or embarrass Hillary at all.

WickedWolf - You left this out!

Pero Grande writes:"Go home and make cookies for your man..."

Yep, you're definitely a denizen of the deep!

Clintons?
There are some interesting comments posted today, agree with some disagree with others. My question is; why would any rational person vote for four more years of corruption from a Clinton administration? What short memories we have!!

Hillary - the force of evil
I don't prefer to recycle the known opinions of all those who've already posted (right or left), but:

1 - how long do you think it took HRC to perfect that open-mounthed "frozen smile" (you know the one - Savage calls her "chipmunk" because of it)? Of all the creepy things about her, this one is close to the top.
2 - why do you think we never, ever got to hear word one from Chelsea on any topic - and what explained CC's rapturous look the day she was accepted into Stanford and knew she'd be 3000 miles away from Mommy Dearest?
3 - why would HRC have anything to do with the death of her reputed boyfriend V. Foster - but still had Maggie Williams and Bernie Nussbaum scour his office the night of his death? It may be 30 years before this one is ever investigated - e.g. only now do we understand the Giancana and JFK connection.
4 - why would Ken Starr's replacement simply refuse to follow-up on the FBI files case (perhaps he wasn't up for the war room treatment - or perhaps wasn't ready for an "accident", and you know how those private planes always seem to go down at the right time) - lest we forget, the "drive-bys" went bonkers over RN's having one file?

Yes - I fully expect the reds in residence here to come after me but...

Dumb Dog (part 2)
Big Dog, I also notice you’re quick to scream for others to prove their assertions. Perhaps you’d be so good as to cite some references for your characterizations of the rest of the country. For example, what is the actual rate of incest among all “red states” in comparison to the rate of incest in New York City?

The ugly, smug, narcissistic parochialism you display when you describe the majority of the American voting public – which appears to reflect the way most liberals/socialists view the people of anywhere not New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Boston -- is exactly what is going to lose you the next election, my friend.

Thank the Founders for the Electoral College that ensures the interests of we denizens of the otherwise-beneath-notice “flyover” states are protected. Despite Democrats’ cries of a “stolen election,” it is the Electoral College that lost Saint Goracle the 2000 election.

So please, keep your ignorant, self-obsessed, insulting opinions coming so that we can ensure that Komrade Hillary and her tomcatting hubby never occupy the White House again.

Dumb Dog (part 1)
Big Dog (a.k.a. Dumb Dog in the Big City) wrote

“you're talking about New Yorkers - not your bodunk flyover incest victims”

“only a small-minded, red-state country piker could come up with something THIS REASONED...”

Speaking of small minded...

I wonder what would happen to an enlightened, cosmopolitan New Yorker such as yourself, if we “bodunk flyover incest victims” decided to decline politely to engage in interstate commerce with your city? One does wonder where you would find the commodities you rely on so much, such as natural gas, coal, grains, meat, paper and other products, if we “small-minded, red-state country pikers” stopped supplying them? I hear it gets pretty cold in New York in the winter, and I doubt all those building-top gardens could supply all the inner-city dwelling welfare recipients in addition to all the smug, parasitic, elitist leftwing jerks.

Don’t get me wrong; the loss of New York City would create an economic hardship for the country, but I think we’d survive just fine. The reverse is patently false.

It is fascinating that New Yorkers such as yourself can consider yourselves cosmopolitan in light of your ignorance of 90% of your own country. You’re probably one of those morons who actually think “Saving Grace” is an accurate portrayal of Oklahoma City. Have you ever been to any of the states you are so ready to condemn? Prejudice is ugly wherever you find it.

NO WAY
I'd walk 10 miles in the snow just to vote against her or Obama! They both are total jokes and it's a shame they are even able to run for such an high office. Neither are qualified, either by experience or sanity.

@Gretchen
I'm with you on the tags. TH has the absolute worst discussion group software of any of the major political blogs.

Dems don't believe in logic or courts
Pero Grande wrote: "If you want to convince reasonable people, you have to do better than your silly innuendo, partial truths and outright absurdity..."

The Clintons' use of bribery and threats to get witnesses to change their sworn testimony is not innuendo, it's fact established by a government investigation and confirmed by the House of Representatives, not to mention the US Supreme Court and the Arkansas Bar Association.

Let's apply that knowledge to just ONE of the dozens of apparently criminal acts by the Clintons. Recall that in the Whitewater investigation, there were three witnesses who personally claimed they knew Bill Clinton had been financially involved in the criminal aspects of the fraud. What happened to those witnesses?

Witness 1, after receiving a $400,000 "consulting" job from a friend of Bill's, with apparently no work that needed to be performed, and obtained after he (the witness) had been CONVICTED of a felony charge (which should have ruined his credibility as a consultant, right?), changed his testimony.

Witness 2 simply refused to testify, and went to jail for 18 months on a contempt citation.

Witness 3 claimed he would testify, but predicted that he would die in an Arkansas jail before he had the chance... and then, he died in an Arkansas jail before he had the chance to testify.

Given the fact that we KNOW (established in court, remember?) that Clinton suborned perjury, offered bribes, and made threats in order to get witnesses to change their testimony about him, is there any conclusion a reasonable person could come to regarding this remarkable sequence of events that prevented three witnesses from testifying against him?

That's just one instance. There are dozens of others.

So, why is Hillary so "controversial?"
THE BOTTOM LINE: HILLARY IS IRRESPONSIBLE WITH POWER

Dear American Friend,
http://www.1984ArkansasMotherOfTheYear.com

I have attached my “Hillary file” which is culled from the 205+ books and other media that I have on Hillary and Bill. The Clintons are thugs. On the campaign trail in 2007 Hillary and Bill are play acting as the loving, respectful couple – singing each other’s praises on stage and engaging in public affection as they troll for votes.
In order to understand Hillary and Bill, one must first understand the wildly dysfunctional Jerry Springer lifestyle they have lived for 36 years. Hillary has covered for Bill who not only has had HUNDREDS of women, but also perpetrated several rapes and vicious sexual assaults, often involving biting the lips of the women victims. In order to cover up this Jerry Springer chaos, Hillary has often used Sopranos tactics: a secret police and criminal intimidation tactics to harass, intimidate and terrify Bill’s sex victims and girlfriends.

WE’VE HAD ENOUGH “EXPERIENCE” WITH HILLARY;
CLINTON BLACK OPERATIONS MUST STOP

These tactics include the savage beating/almost murder of Gennifer Flower’s neighbor (Gary Johnson – 6/26/92), criminal harassment campaigns on Kathleen Willey (1997-98 car vandalism, stole or killed her cat Bullseye, witness tampering), Liz Ward Gracen (who Bill probably raped [1983] while she was Miss America – harassed/threats, 1997), Gennifer Flowers (break-ins, threats, 1992), Sally Perdue (car vandalism, threats, 1992), Bobbie Ann Williams (break-in), Christy Zercher (a flight attendant, groped 1992, break-in, 1994), Patrick Knowlton (extreme harassment campaign Oct. 1995; witness tampering), Suzi Parker (a journalist harassed off Arkansas tainted prison blood scandal 1999, fearing for her life), Connie Hamzy (lying campaign, 1991) and Juanita Broaddrick (raped by Bill 1978, break-in and IRS audit when she went public in 1998).

Unfortunately, a lot of us ARE ...
...that stupid.

This was the most depressing aspect of the 1990s, for me -- watching the Clinton crime/slime machine repeatedly engage in tactics that presupposed a lazy, uneducated, apathetic public incapable of focusing on any serious issue for the long haul...

...and it ALWAYS WORKED.

Case in point: Billy Bob knew before he tried that those 11 spurious Executive Privilege claims against Special Prosecutor Starr were going to lose. He did not INTEND to win those. The sole point was to make the affair take a long time. Given enough time, Boy Clinton knew, the public would lose interest, and after that the results of the investigation would not matter. He was 100% correct.

Gotta love that intellectual rigor...
Pero Grande (New Yorker, are ya?) wrote: "I think there's far more proof that these guys are war criminals and traitors than Hillary had Vince Foster killed..."

Well, if it was just a question of whether Hillary had Vince Foster killed or not, you might not be completely insane, just horribly wrong. But there's a great deal more than just the Vince Foster thing. Hillary was in up to her neck in the Whitewater/Castle Grande thing (that resulted in 19 other felony convictions), she was the principle architect of the Travel Office firings and the ensuing, false accusation of Bill Dale, she deliberately ignored the Court order for her Rose Law Firm records, she was clearly involved in the campaign funding scandals and the Chinese connection...

Meanwhile, your observation that "it's a matter of opinion" is false. Not only are the President and Vice President easily within their constitutional bounds on every point you guys raise, the "1 million Iraqis" is a fiction of biased Johns Hopkins' researchers imaginations and long since discredited, and whatever Iraqi blood there is, is on the Baathists' and al Qaeda's hands.

No contest, Mr. Big Apple...

inkling revival
a few years ago the missus clinton was rambling on incoherently about how she knows about the secret meetings the repubs hold down dark roads at night to keep their oppression of minorities ongoing. If this witch claims that she didn't know about bubba's philandering how would she know about secret repub meetings. I think this statement was made about the same time she claimed she was a member of the natl rifle assoc. She really thinks the country is that stupid that they will believe her nonsense or that when proven to be false as her membership in the nra proved to be, that people will forget her lies. But the missus clinton can't resist the lie and does it over studpi matters. Like being named after a new zealand sheep farmer who later climbed Mt Everest. Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mt Everest when the miss rodham was six years old. I guess her family called her it or thing prior to finally deciding on using sir edmunds name

As First Ladies Go
Next to Elenor Roosevelt, her royal thighness, hildabeast, looks like a hottie. lol

I have a question for Left Angle,
...if he's man enough to answer candidly.

If your standard for accusing a person of criminal acts is whether or not they've actually been indicted, tried, and convicted...

... when are you going to start your campaigns at HuffingtonPost and Daily Kos to get Democrats to stop calling President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and advisor Karl Rove "criminals?" After all, none of them have ever been indicted of any crime, let alone tried or convicted?

I mean, you COULDN'T just be a hypocritical, partisan flack...

Chelsea approached a soldier...
...and asked if there was anything that truly frightened him. He replied, "Three things..."

"Osama, Obama, and yo' mama."

Why haven't they been indicted?
LeftAngle (5:49 PM) asks a question a lot of us have been asking, but with a very different tone of voice: "Why haven't they been arrested and put in jail?"

In Mrs. Clinton's case, it was a combination of things.

1) The clearly fraudulent document she produced for the Castle Grande/Madison Guarantee land scam would have been prosecutable, except for the plausible claim (which Mrs. Clinton actually used) that she was INCOMPETENT.

2) As we learned in the Lewinsky affair, the Clintons are expert at bribing and/or threatening witnesses in order to change testimony. As we've learned with other gangsters, if a figure has both the access and the willingness to seriously threaten witnesses, it's virtually impossible to convict them. This, not the blowjob (and the cocaine) is the real information gained in the Lewinsky matter -- the proof that the Clintons had no scruples against turning witnesses.

3) The public was so horribly weary of criminality (one scandal after another, nonstop, for 8 years) that nobody had the heart to carry any of the half-dozen or so prosecutable crimes to their proper conclusion.

4) George W. Bush, unduly influenced by Evangelical Christianity and a sincere desire to heal the nation after 8 years of Clinton slime, actually believed that forgiving them and letting them go was better for the nation. This, in my mind, is one of his greatest failures; proper prosecutions would have been much more healing.

Let's be clear on this, though, Lefty... it's not because she didn't commit any crimes. She's guilty as hell. Even my Progressive friends know it.

Pero Grande
__We do not hold Ms. Clinton responsible for what she researched, and her written opinion of the research. Heck, she's campaigning to hold the keys to this nation. So as she campaigns for those keys,we ought to know if she learned how to operate the keys. The ring of keys she will be holding in her hands are the keys of this nations prosperity. Keys formed from an alloy fused in republican principles. I do not know if "El Perro grande" has assimilated to those principles, but I do know the prosperity of America is of them. We did not become this nation with theoretic leaders speculating on Americas future. We are here, because we are a republic, and the public has the right to scrutinize its employees resume.

Oh, the irony...
The defenders of Ms. Clinton, who lack a sense of humor, simply can't imagine the sheer IRONY of Ms. Clinton referring to a REPUBLICAN slime machine.

Somehow, these mooks never managed to connect the dots between --

-- comments by the President and his staff regarding "using the IRS to audit" their political enemies, and using phrases like "scorched earth policy" and "Elaine Romasch strategy";
-- 900 FBI investigative files of political figures showing up in the basement of the White House by way of a "bureaucratic snafu" (and nobody can find the man who allegedly borrowed them all); and
-- the fact that any individual who dared to investigate the Clinton administration seriously suddenly had the most private of dirt turned public.

To the Dems, the clear indication of intent, motive, and access doesn't mean anything.

The Clintons are the most vicious attack dogs the American political world has ever seen, and the public knows it.

HILLARY RANDOM SHOTS

.....Bill and Hillary go to a Yankee baseball game ...A secret service agent whispers in Bill's ear and Bill stands up and throws Hillary out of the stands and onto the field ..."No! No! Mr. President", says the agent, "I said throw out the first pitch." ...

.....Hillary is going to play the same role for the Democrats as Bob Dole did for the Republicans when he ran against Bill ...Dole was nominated because it was his turn ...now it is Hillary's turn and she will suffer the same fate as Dole ...

sheep dog: a question
if the clintons are criminals as you say,
why havent they been indicted, convicted at trail and put in jail?

Big Dog or Pero Grande, which ever
"I'm not interested in what she wrote almost 40 years ago - I'm interested in what she says, now! Are you a thinking person? I specifically asked if YOU'RE the same person that YOU were 40 years ago. If you're under 30, then 10 years ago - I noticed you passed on that VERY easy question - I wonder why?"

I didn't pass on it, it's not relative to the conversation. I said her essay reflects what she's doing NOW. What part of that is so hard to understand? It doesn't appear that she has evolved at all.

"I can give VERY specific reasons as to why Bush has been a failure and why one shouldn't vote for him - and it has nothing to do with pure (and absurd) speculation"

You were given a link that details the provable actions of Mrs. Clinton and her husband. I consider those very specific reasons why I wouldn't vote for her.

And your style stinks. There is no reason to be rude. I'm disagreeing you, I'm not being obnoxious.

There is only a 2000 word limit on what can be written for each post. I could debunk your last post very easily but I thought I'd just make it short and sweet. I posted a link to IdahoGal at 4:52 Maybe you should read it. If you don't thats fine. It's a link to all the corrupt activities that the Clintons have been involved in. And no it's not a right wing conspiracy. It's proven fact. But since your such a big hitlery fan I know you'll deny it.

I repeat:
Why Repubs/Con REALLY Hate Sen. Clinton
quote from Sen. Hillary Clinton:

“I have never been afraid to stand up for what I believe in or to face down the Republican machine,” Mrs. Clinton said in announcing a presidential exploratory committee of her new “Hillary for President” Web site. “After nearly $70 million spent against my campaigns in New York and two landslide wins, I can say I know how Washington Republicans THINK, how they OPERATE, and how to BEAT them."

Please pay close attention to that last sentence because it is focal point on what most deeply disturbs repubs/cons about both Sen. Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill
Clinton. It's the fact that repubs/cons have thrown literally "everthing but the kithchen
sink" of negative political campaining, character assasination and spurious consiracy
theories at this dynamic duo and yet they manage time and again to repulse their efforts and come out on the winning end. This frustrates and humiliates repubs/cons to no end and engenders abject antipathy and crazed hatred toward by them because the record proves them to be correct.

Repubs/Cons dont get it. Libs/Dems dont view the Clintons as they do.. they see them as politicians that fight back and refuse to back down from rnc attack/slime machine. They have proven time and again that repubs/cons are primarily bullies who back down like the cowards they are when confronted with dem politicians who fight back and WIN by whatever means neccessary. that is a trait to be admired, not scorned.

Born in Tucson but haven't been back since. Moved to Cal. when I was 6 months old. I used to think Utah was a really red state (Well it is in Utah County where Provo is) but recently in the last few years theres been a huge influx of people from California move here becuase of the affordable housing (well not so much anymore but theres still a alot of construction of homes going on right now) Ever heard of Rock Anderson mayor of Salt Lake City? He's a lame duck becuase he's not running this year (THANK GOD)
Well him and Cindy Sheehan must be related becuase he's going around the country making these speeches about impeaching President Bush.
I'm hearing rumors that he might run for Governor in 08 or 10 not sure. God help us if he does.

They are always right in their thinking due to their superior education and understanding of the issues. But when you question their sacred cows they resort to the clinton strategy attack and destroy. They can't win the argument but they have mastered the childish insults. Left Angle, oh my, the turmoil!
__This is one person, among many people in this society, who do not stick their hands in a beehive, as some good will come from it. Hillary, and her factions, are of that theory. Speculators of the belief, that by inflamming passions you gather the forces. A risky task, as her learned past has taught her. A risk that can pay great benefit for the individual, or be an individual disaster. The democratic party places their hope on this risk. Think about the speculative risk they took, to be the grand master, of balancing the budget. I'll bet the CIA could have used the dollars they cut.

Hey Left Angle,

Read "The Shadow Party" by David Horowitz. Learn the documented truth about Hillary, George Soros, ACORN, ACLU, et.c Then perhaps you will realize the dangers of a Hillary presidency.

Bill governed by polls with no thought other than his own legacy in history.

Hillary, on the other hand, is a true believer who seeks power to change the world into her own socialistic village. Income re-distribution, social engineering, political correctness, and multiculturalism will dominate America or, should I say Amerika.

C'mon Fred, Mitt or Rudy! We have to win!

The answer is "Yes".
recovering democrat asks:

"Has a candidate ever lost all 50 states?"

Jesse Jackson lost all 50 states every time he ran.

So did Pat Buchanan.

So did Ross Perot in 1992.

Ron Paul would have lost all 50 states in 1988 but he couldn't even get on the ballot in four states. So technically he only lost 46 states plus the District of Columbia.

Do you really think it's fair for Rudy to run as a terrorism expert based on his NY experience on 9/11? because if that's so, my wife and I deserve a shot at the presidency as well! Rudy polarized the city - as many people hated him as loved him, and had the Demos put up someone stronger than ruth messenger, rudy might've lost his second bid. I think Hillary has more experience based on her White House days, her dealings with international leaders, he experience in the US Senate, he overall demeanor (Rudy is VERY rigid) - and, in my opinion, he intelligence and compassion...

that's right the clintons know how to fight. Wasn't it the hillary war room that launched attacks to destroy the woman who came forward to tell the country about bubba's boorish behavior. It was the same missus clinton who attacked the employess of the white house travel office so that friends of the clintons could take over. Wasn't is missus clinton that stated her hatred of those of us the right with her claims of this vast right wing conspiracy. In her mind to oppose the clinton's makes you the enemy. If you ever say something negative about her dreamboat bubba that puts you No. 1 on her hit list. She continued her hatred againstImus for a statement made early in the clinton presidentcy when he told those at a dinner that bubba had the morals of an alley cat. After his nappy headed ho's joke missus clinton e-mailed her supporters to join the crusade to get rid of imus. The clinton's know revenge and destroying the helpless. When anyone has dared challenge the nonsense spewed by the missus clinton she quickly climbs on her crosss of being a victim. The clinton's don't fight for principle they identify enemies and then use their power to destroy. Both are truly works of art but the missus clinton is the most visicous of the two and will leave nothing to chance if that is the only way she can win

I did not write this. The poster who wrote this was "Big Dog", who was attempting to disparage me.

Response to Big Dog...

"Did you ever consider that you're aan idiot and that the rest of us ain't as stupid as you?"

1. An "idiot" by definition is incapable of the kind of speculative comparison you suggest.

2. I know for a fact I am not an "idiot". I have the test scores to prove it.

3. Your response does not make sense as an answer to the question unless you are claiming that Mrs. Clinton gets 47% positive because all of these people who don't even know a poster named "wiseone" think he is an idiot.

4. If the "rest" of you "ain't" too stupid to like Mrs. Clinton how come her 'positives' aren't 99%?

5. If your postings on this thread are any indication, there is NOBODY that you "ain't" as stupid as.

Its a tough game where such repub/con luminaries as Roger Ailes, Lee Atwater, and Karl Rove have set the standard for "Anthing goes-Go Negative-Character Assasination Political Campaining"

What is to be admired about the Clintons is that they have a record of fighting back, repulsing and WINNING against such tactics by Repubs/Cons and they cant stand it..It frustrates them to no end..it drives them crazy..

Just look at all the foaming at the mouth, vitriolic and hateful PERSONAL comments in here today about Sen. Clinton even though not a single person in here KNOWS HER PERSONALLY.
I'd say that speaks volumes about the unstable mental state of right wingers who say such things.

Big Dog writes:

One c in necessary. But I digress. Where in my previous post did I lie or commit the sins of supposition or hyperbole? I don't hate Mrs. Clinton, I loathe her. Loathe. To feel intense dislike or disgust for. Her thesis speaks for itself as did her smug, self promoting remarks I referred to.

There is so much I loathe about this woman. She lost me with the "cookies" remark way back in their first campaign. I had actually entertained the idea of voting for Mr. Clinton (before I did the research myself and didn't take what the MSM was promoting as gospel) because I was so fed up with Bush senior. I even took my niece and nephew to hear Mr. Clinton speak when he campaigned in our small town in CA.

As for the so-called lies about her you refer to, if even 1/10 of them have basis in fact, how could you defend her? There is so much that is provable fact, one needn't lie about her.

To the Big Dog
"Sir - you're talking about New Yorkers - not your bodunk flyover incest victims - when we say we hated Rudy - it was because he stank...."

Not too elitist towards the rest of the country, eh? But what can we expect from NYC leftists?

Up here in Western New York, there is a lot of love for Rudy. But I can't expect you to look past the boundaries of NYC and see any other New Yorkers. In fact, that is the only reason Hillary got elected in the first place. She didn't need the votes of Upstate. She banked exclusively on leftist city-dwellers who didn't even know that there was a New York State outside of the city.

And in your words, Rudy stank? Yet somehow, he got reelected.

"You're voting for a guy because he was standing around covered in ashes?"

You keep complaining of how posters attack Hillary without looking at her record, yet you do the same thing to Rudy here. Just a guy in the ashes? Come on. Please, tell us why his executive experience makes him less experienced than Hillary. You're the expert, right?

To Left Angle.
The only reason, excuse the expression, Mrs. Clinton won in NYS 2 times is because 1. Rudy dropped out and her opponent ran an incompetent campaign 2. The second opponent only had $350.000. to spend and she spent 30 MILLION so she could win with big nos. She is only now experiencing a credible opponent in Barak Obama. She MAY stilll get the Dem nomination but the Repubs will CLIMB THE HIGHEST MOUNTAINS AND SWIM THE DEEPEST RIVERS TO VOTE AGAINST HER. So if the Repubs are not galvinized now they sure will be it she is the opponent. She is a phony, dishonest and disingenuous. If will be a very sad day for this country if she is ever elected president. As a matter of fact, we will but land in Sicily if she is in WH. The mafia is more honest than she and her mean machine is.

Has Hillary Clinton seeks to unite the democrat party for the sake of the party, she acts for the party ideal, and the factions that support it. Those is not actions of a presidential contender, contending for the values of a UNITED STATES! Those are the actions of one fulfilling self interest, to secure power, and authority, according to individual self interest. She lives her thesis, and plays the pure democracy passion strings well.

how about her supporting the black panthers. This socialist witch loves power but hates the way america is structured. But idiots like you welcome and applaud her efforts to bring socialism to this great country. I have never opposed anything but what shew stand for. When have I ever attacked her merely because she is female. I attack ideas. But both you and the missus clinton prove that idiots come in all colors and sexes. But claiming that having a secondary and minor role is proof of a strong resume is ludicrous at best. Perhaps you should remeber that when she gave her commencement address the way she insulted the black US senator from Mass. Have you any clue as to who saul alinsky is and how she has adapted his philosophy. Research your heroine. Supporting her is your option. But there is nothing that your side has presented that has convinced any on our side that she is nothing less than a danger to our way of life. If she is so qualified why does she poll such high negatives. Obviously there is something there that alarms many people that she is not the p[erson who such be given the responsibility of leading this country.

Another poll that's hard to "go Figure". 49% -- who do they talk to? When they ask the questions --do they change them depending upon the political party interviewed? Yes, to both questions. It's all part of the "let's get the best answer to publish for our candidate". Been there done that!

I STILL believe that the Clinton's are part of a "left wing conspiracy" --paid for with big money from a very wealthy Greek who wants the power to RULE the USA. I think they were plucked out of obscurity many years ago. Not to mention the other BIG money from other "like" contributors.

Always found it strange --the Liberal left always talks about the Big Money Republicans - and "let's take from the rich and give to the poor attitude" - it's the "cradle to grave philosophy" -in other words --"let us take care of you financially, etc." Therefore, you become dependent on the Gvt for everything. Does any of this sound familiar? Watch out folks -- Bubba and Hillary want good old socialism for all of us. After all the Democrats think "it takes a village".

Reading her thesis requires a level of intellect they don't have.

As long as Republicans unite we will win
The democrats are not united they are divided over the war. Many democrats do not like Hillary and for good reasons.

Once Conservative Republican Fred Thompson announces his plans, he will unite all republicans. The social consevatives, fiscal conservatives and many independents who want the borders secured will unite with Thompson.

Hopefully the other candidates; Rudy, Mitt, and McCain will respect the fact that it is more important for Republicans to win than it is for their ego, and get behind Thompson.

Thompson will excite people to vote republican instead of simply voting against Hillary.

wildwaste says:
"again you parade you staggering ignorance. Without bubba the missus clinton would be a total non-entity that no one would have ever heard of. "

I'm glad you have the ability to see alternative universes but she was already known on the national scene before she got married: her 1969 graduation commencement speech got her profiled in Life magazine. She met MLK. She was very active in the Anti-War movement. She worked on the impeachment of Nixon.
She worked for McGovern.
She worked for Mondale.
She headed the CDF!
Would she be running for president? perhaps not - but would she be successful?
I'd be willing to bet on it.
Would she have gone on in politics?
it sure looks that way...

You just hate her because she's a Clinton and a woman - though not neccessarily in that order...

Whyt Repubs/Con REALLY Hate Sen. Clinton
This was in her acknowledgments section of her thesis:
"Although I have no 'loving wife' to thank for keeping the children away while I wrote, I do have many friends and teachers who have contributed to the process of thesis-writing,"

This is one of the reasons I loathe this woman. Her need to point out her superiority to other women, as attested to by her "cookies" put down and her "Tammy" moment.

And, Left Angle, we do get it. We don't "scorn" her for tough campaigning, we scorn her for the "win by whatever means necessary. that is a trait to be admired, not scorned." That leftists admire someone of Hillary's ilk speaks volumes of your mindset.

You really need to read her thesis (with an open mind, if you can manage that). It will explain the Clinton Machine like nothing else.

Hillary's Hostility Factor
It would be difficult to add to the numerous negatives of a Hillary presidency. Most of them have already been covered. Here is something I don't believe anyone has covered as yet...If Hillary is elected president, that would automatically put Bill Clinton back inside the White House. Do we really want to put him there, so he can spend every day making out with every intern in the building? Think about it!!!
Bud Jackson was wrong, when he said, "Hillary's unfavorable polling numbers are not alarm bells ringing off!" No, they are not alarm bells ringing off...they are a full-blown forest fire!!!
Wiseguy demonstrated his level of intelligence by standing up for Hillary and asking the question, "Did you ever consider that you're
aan (spelling) idiot and that the rest of us
ain't (improper English) as stupid as you?" No doubt he is the product of our wonderful public school system....which will only get worse if Hillary is elected. That should be enough to scare every mother and father in this country, regardless of their party affiliation!!!!!

MSM hated Rudy
Latinos and blacks did not hate Rudy. When he lowered the murder rate almost all those saved were minority victims.

MSM media hated cleaning up 42nd. St. They liked the 12-yr.-old hookers and drug dealers. It's where they got their kicks.

MSM called Rudy a Hitler--their favorite pejorative--and a "meanie"--anther 3rd-grade word MSM is so fond of, because they are so caring.

Rudy is the ONLY elected official in exec. leadership position who was on the ground when foreign jihadists attacked the WTC. Hillary has been in the elect. position of leadership of nothing, and she hates the military and will bring military defeat and humiliation in the Middle East.

No candidate is perfect, but Hillary is a disaster: no experience, terrible personal history, socialist ec. and bus. beliefs, and she'll bring back Bubba to the scenes of his greatest moral collapse. It will only be good for the National Enq.

Vote Rudy. Grow up. Have an adult for pres.

actually the latest buzz I have heard was that the current lt. gov of ohio is at the top of the list for vp should the missus clinton get the nomination. The missus clinton already has has the black vote in her pocket, and doesn't need anything that oblhama could bring to the ticket. Should she get the nomination the missus clinton couldn't have anyone around more appealing than herself which eliminates some 99% of the adult population in america. But the vp choice is only a trip to the wilderness. As she has announced that bubba would be her ambasador to the world, this is merely her buzzword for another clinton co-presidentcy. This might excite the left but is bad news for the rest of the world

Just What WE DON't NEED
After Bush we can't afford the likes of Clinton and her Liberal Believes. We are in deep Sh** and how much farther can we fall before we as Americans take a stand. She has shown what and who she is and her Politics are what we can't have if we are to rebuild that dream for all Americans. There are better Women in this Country for that high position, than the likes of Clinton and her drive for power and greed, and she lacks any Moral standing for she prooved that when Willy was in office. She reminds me of a dog slidding its butt across the grass.

I certainly hope that's true. BUT, if we have a Hillary/Barak ticket, I think it'll be very difficult to beat. We don't dare say anything about anything they've ever said or done. again you parade you staggering ignorance. Without bubba the missus clinton would be a total non-entity that no one would have ever heard of. the missus clinton did indeed flunk the dc bar. She lists it as her one failure in life. But she soon departed to ark where she earned power the old fashioned way, she married it and accumulated it from others sucking up bubba for his favor and figured paying off the missus clinton would work in their favor. But it must strike many women as odd that this supposidly strong woman was both an enabler for a serial womanizer but had to rely on her husband and his popularity for her success.

beetleboys asks:
"As for Newt, give me ONE example of his corruption. If you can't produce a verifiable example Big Dog, then kindly shut the frack up."

it's funny that a guy who calls Hillary a murderer needs "real" proof about accusations against Newty but...
Remind everyone here why he resigned from office!

What about the lies?
The Democrats have spent 6 years harping about lies they claim Bush told but which they can't prove where in fact lies.

Now they want to nominate a woman with a proven history of lying about everything.

Kind of makes you wonder just how dumb they think everyone is.

The Latest Hillary Joke
A man walks into a bar in Texas and orders a drink.

While he was sitting at the bar watching TV, one of Hillary's political ads came on. After it went off, he stood up and announced to everyone, "Hillary is a horse's a**!"

The bartender reached under the bar and brought out an oak club about
18 inches long and hit the man square across the head, knocking him off his stool and onto the floor.

After a minute or two, the man got up, straightened himself up and said to the bartender, "I'm sorry. I didn't know this was Hillary country."

"It's not!" replied the bartender, "It's horse country."

beetleboy says:
"Rudy is a left of center candidate with considerably less baggage than Mrs. Clinton."

Sure about that? members of his administration looted NYC - not really national news...
YET.

"If you're a liberal but not a left-wing fanatic, which liberal do you vote for, the one who is "thrice divorced" but still one of the best governmental managers this nation has produced in a long time, or the Marxist who has stolen, defrauded, run afoul of fair labor laws, hidden FBI documents that have dirt on her enemies, covered up murder/suicides of a close business associate, and generally treated everyone around her like pond scum?"

The difference, Beetle, is that your claims are pure fantasy: murder-suicide cover up? Got an offical charge and conviction to go with that smear? How about an investigation? Got anything pther than talk radio invective?
Didn't think so...
FBI files?
Cleared.
Fair Labor Laws? How about a source...

is Rudy such a GREAT manager?

Ask the people of NYC what they thought of him.
Yes - he won two elections - BUT:

He polaroized the city - the latinos and blacks hated him - as well as the far lefties.

His Street Crime Unit was disbanded as the "accidental" killings piled up.

Instead of moving his command center from the WTC to brooklyn - as was recommended, he kept it at 7 WTC - and ended up standing around covered in ashes on 9/11.

He left our firemen with ancient and inadequate radios - how many died on 9/11 because of his stupidity?

He confronted the City social services - tried to disband them and lost in court.

He embarrassed the city by spouting off about a show at the Brooklyn Museum.

And so on and so forth...

Whyt Repubs/Con REALLY Hate Sen. Clinton
quote from Sen.

They have prove time and again that repubs/cons are primarily bullies who back down like the cowards they are when confronted with dem politicians and fight back and win by whatever means neccessary. that is a trait to be admired, not scorned.

Big Dog
I’ve considered it and you’re right. You are an idiot and nobody is as stupid as you!

@Right_Wing2
Now that it is looking like Mrs. Clinton is going to get the Dem nomination running away, we will start to see more columns highlighting her sordid history. Many an expose was written back in the day about her overt Marxist ideology, her corruption in Bill's WH, her corruption in Arkansas, her terrible managerial abilities and so on.

Republican strategists have been PRAYING that she would be the nominee because she has a such a public record of misdeeds. There is no need for the GOP candidate to spend huge amounts of $$ to try to dig up dirt on her given that her dirt is spread all over the place for everyone to see.

There is a reason that Dem strategists are starting to openly worry about the effect she will have on down-ticket Dem candidates.

My prediction: If she is nominated, the GOP takes back both houses of Congress, the POTUS, and increases governorships (and I don't believe this is wishful thinking).

Read somewhere she had flunked her DC bar exam to practice in Washington DC. Can anyone confirm?

Also, since the Clintons' days in Arkansas - not only untested blood from prisoners sold by the Arkansas gov. to Canada causing many cases of AIDS but the unexplained deaths of three black teenagers there - to DC with the deaths of Vince Foster and Ron Brown. Lots of unexplained stuff still out there. And her majesty's papers are sealed.

Anyone who opposes her should be offered protection by the Secret Service. She's scary.

there is no listing for the top 100 lawyers. If such a list existed is would be comprised of power players found in NYC wash dc or la and would not include some part time lawyer from backwater arkansas. Bubba is calling you for his monica

Sorry, that
should have been Craig Livingston, not Livinston.

"hostility" just ain't strong enough
I don't believe there is a word strong enough to express my loathing for this woman and her awful husband. As a matter of fact, there are few democrats who DON'T engender this emotion in me.

But Hillary? Hillary is the very bottom of an extremely nasty barrel...

Big Dog wrote
"well, if you attack her because of her voice, or because you think she's a bitchh, or because she stayed married to Bill - then they'd be right...."

I'm not talking about her voice or her attitude or because she stayed married to our former Commander in Heat.

I'm talking about focusing on the ISSUES and on her past. The fact that she's a died in the wool socialist- supporting socialized medicine and the confiscation of profit from 'eeevil' big oil and drug companies to hand things out to others. Her kowtowing to the inanity of the environmental extremists. Her theft of White House property when she and Bill left. Her belief that government needs to control even more of our lives than it already does.

The fact that, despite all protestations, she had her hand in the cookie jar when it came to the firing of the former White House Travel Office. The fact that, despite her protestations, she had ties to the hiring of Craig Livinston of 'Filegate' infamy. The questionable activities at Rose Law Firm (Whitewatergate).

Anything said that disagrees with her, and anyone who doesn't bow down at her feet will be cast as a sexist.

renny
at some campaign stop some little munchkin will approach the missus clinton with something warm and cuddley and plop it into the missus clinton's hands and voila her latest prop. Useful for the campaign but with a short life expectancy after the campaign is over. She is married to a weasel but that don't count in the cuddley category. But there is certainly something distrustful about anyone who can't be viewed as either a cat or dog lover. But then again with her personality it wouldn't come as a shock that she keeps a pet python

Big dog, you call wise guy stupid, yet you misspell a two letter word? Sit! Stay!

49 percent apt to increase...
...after her college thesis is read by all.I, now, understand why she talks of creating the democratic party as a union,in an attempt to undermine the union of this republic. She embraces our democracy, but not of its"republican principles",which give our Constitution its strength. It may be,those who distrust Hillary Clinton, see her motives clearly. There are many pages of her thesis to read through, along with the references she uses.I see why this thesis was kept hidden for so long.

Big Dog
Your comeback to Nancibelle may be true, but what does any of that have to do with being prepared to be the Leader of the Free World? No executive experience, can't tell the truth about her agenda because the country will revolt, her "experience" boils down to, like the bad old days for feminists, to the fact that she once slept with the president. As for making big bucks as a litigator, are you referring to those Rose Law Firm billing records that disappeared and were later found in the trunk of a car in a junk yard? Those big bucks? Or the $10,000 dollars she turned overnight into $100,000 in the commodities market? If she's so smart, why doesn't she allow us to see her dissertation from her college days? I hear because it's about hurrah for Marxism. As for winning in a landslide in her New York district, there are a lot of us in the U.S. who are not impressed with the so-called superiority of the New Yorker. So, that's a wash. Got anything else? Give me your best shot. Or was that it?

Keep telling yourself that Big Dog
One of the advantages that Republicans have is that the Dems are delusional, as Big Dog's post demonstrates. I actually like the fact that the Dems think she has "improving" ratings. The more they think this, the more likely they are to be totally blind-sided when the campaign starts.

They use morally-weighted phrases like "thrice divorced", or "adulterous and corrupt" as if these mean anything in an election where the Dems would be putting up a person with the worst character flaws in the history of modern politics.

Rudy is a left of center candidate with considerably less baggage than Mrs. Clinton. If you're a liberal but not a left-wing fanatic, which liberal do you vote for, the one who is "thrice divorced" but still one of the best governmental managers this nation has produced in a long time, or the Marxist who has stolen, defrauded, run afoul of fair labor laws, hidden FBI documents that have dirt on her enemies, covered up murder/suicides of a close business associate, and generally treated everyone around her like pond scum?

As for Newt, give me ONE example of his corruption. If you can't produce a verifiable example Big Dog, then kindly shut the frack up.

As for Fred Thompson, you should be aware that he is AVOCATIONALLY an actor. He has more Senate experience than Mrs. Clinton, an amazing track record as an aggressive prosecutor of political corruption, and was the guy that helped frame the question about Nixon: "What did he know and when did he know it?"

If you think that Thompson is "untested" then what does that make the less experienced Mrs. Clinton?

BTW, the GOP has yet to lay a glove on her. When that time comes, if Mrs. Clinton can manage to get below 66% unfavorables, I would be very surprised.

conservativeman
Please do not call Billary a "bit**".

Doing so is an insult to female dogs everywhere.

I daresay female dogs have done more for the sake of humanity than Billary.

Big Dog
In your list, you left out one of Billary's other high achievements:

She was the only First Lady ever to be personally subpoenaed by a federal grand jury; this was in connection with concealing subpoenaed documents from a previous grand jury until its term had expired.

Oh, yes, Billary is a smart lady, it's true. She avoided prosecution, didn't she?

Hillary Clinton's tactics
It seems to me that Hillary must have a plan to cover her huge negatives if she wins the nomination. Hillary must be aware that changing minds is a lot harder than making up minds. She is too well known to undo her negative image.

That leaves only one tactic .... trash the Republican nominee so the base and moderates do not come to the polls to vote. It is the tactic that Gray Davis used to defeat Bill Simon in the California governors race a few years back.

Hillary will attack her Republican opponent until his ratings are as bad or worse than hers. That can reduce both the Republican base and the moderate turn enough so just the votes of the Democratic base will be all it takes to elect her President.

Some will say that will make Hillary look like a hypocrit. So it will but it will not stop the Democratic base from coming out to vote for her.

It will be extremely important for the Republican party to nominate the cleanest and most conservative candidate they can nominate. The conventional wisdom is to nominate a candidate that can appeal to the moderates. That is what Hillary is no doubt counting on.

If the Republicans nominate a candidate who can be subject to attacks on his morals, or his positions on moral issues, it will result in a massive defeat as the conservative base and moderates stays home and do not vote.

The key for Hillary will be to get moderates to say fie on both your houses, and get conservatives to believe that the Republican candidate is no better than Hillary.

Call Hillary for what she really is
Hillary is a cold hearted, vindictive, self-promoting, lying, underhanded, sneaky bit**.

This woman has not achieved one darn thing through ability. I'm not a Republican and just the mere mention of her name makes my skin crawl.

Michelle Obama, pretty much summed up Hillary last week. When Hillary walks into a room people become silent and cowed out of fear of what the Clinton machine will do to them if they dare say anything about Hillary.

Come on people stop being Chicken shi*s and call this woman who can single handidly freeze a glass of water just by walking by it, for what she really is.

Polls
I admit the polls concern me. However, Fred has yet to announce. When he becomes a formal candidate I believe he will blow Hillary's socks off. Her 49% negative rating cannot compete with a strong Reaganesque canididate, though Fred nor any of the current GOP hopefuls are hardly the Gipper.

ooops meant to say:
She was named TWICE by the national Law Journal as ONE OF AMERICA'S TOP 100 LAWYERS - and was a top litigator - earning major bucks.

right-wing says:
"The problem is, wild, that every time we use her own words, we'll be accused of being sexist and attacking her, regardless of the truth of those words."

well, if you attack her because of her voice, or because you think she's a bitchh, or because she stayed married to Bill - then they'd be right....

Nancibelle Asks:
"I would ask Mrs. Rodham Clinton supporters to list the "smart" things she has done. Any takers?"

Sure -she graduated at the top of her class from Yale Law School - where she was an editor on the Law Review.

She headed the Children's Defense Fund.

She worked on the impeachment of Richard Nixon

She was named TWICE by the national Law Journal and was a top litigator - earning major bucks.

She has managed to put the Republicans in a major twist - and try as they did, they've only been able to spread rumor and inuendo - and outright lies - and she's still more popular than The Republican front runner.

She was elected TWICE as Senator to the great state of NY - the second time winning by a landslide.

More important - everyone wants to know what SHE's done - please, tell us what makes Rudy or Fred or John McCain so smart?

Ahh the good 'ol days
When we had a candidate like Reagan, and no one cared who he was running against, because he actually had a vision for this country, and it was irresistible, to keep from joining him...

"Without vision the people perish". The Bible says it, the GOP is now proving it true.

Shrillary's voice: one of her biggest
problems.

Everyone has heard it. Talk show hosts make fun of it. Shrillary's "Caw-caw!" voice. She makes it when the crowds are cheering, when she is excited, and trying to raise her voice over the din.

It is a problem with the female voice itself, though it is too Politically Incorrect to say so in this day and age.

When I think of the "Iron Lady," Margaret Thatcher, who always sounded composed and strong, she was aware of what the female voice could and could not do, and never allowed herself to sound like a fishmonger.

It is not likely that The Shrillster will get it and change her ways. She seems to think that the way to sound presidential is to act like a man.

Too bad for her she doesn't have an Adam's Apple.

Smart Mrs. Rodham Clinton??
In a conversation with a Mrs. Rodham Clinton supporter, she said "she was very smart". I replied "not smart enough to leave her philandering husband". Her reply: "that was his "social" life" (and, I guess, allowed to have in a marriage?). She again reiterated "Hillary is so smart". I asked her to name one smart thing she had done and the woman was STUMPED. Stumped, I tell you, stumped!! Can you believe how stupid her supporters are?

I would ask Mrs. Rodham Clinton supporters to list the "smart" things she has done. Any takers?

Like VIck
Hillary among a gadzillion other atrocious characteristics from Whitewater to Monica Lewinsky is a serial animal abuser.

The Clintons had two dogs, both of which died running loose on highways. Buddy was only adopted to counter Paula Jones and Lewinsky neg. publicity. He was allowed to run wild in the White House, a precursor to his ignominious death.

People who can't care for animals are heartless and indifferent to humans.

They gave away the cat Socks.

For those reasons alone, I'd NEVER vote for Hillary.

Billary and the Ghoul
The #1 prospect for next year's election is Billary v. The Ghoul.

Truly, we are sinners in the hands of an angry God.

What if Hillary? 10
1. Military unfunded, unsupported, and public safety distroyed. More possible 911s
2. Hate crimes laws, and the fairness doctrine become fact, freedom of speech out the window
3. Abortion including partial birth goes back up.
4. Government contol of health care at a cost of trilions.
5. borders continue wide open
6. In God we trust removed from our money, and the word God removed from the pledge, as well as all public places.
7. Liberal judges appointed, and the ACLU runs wild.
8. Taxes raised, economy in the tank
9. 2nd. ammendment right to bear arms under attack
10. We have 4 years of listening to a voice that sounds like fingernails on a chalk board.

Beetlebox says:
"...and Mrs. Bill Clinton will continue improve her UNpopularity ratings. Can 66% unapproval be far off? "

i think most of her negatives are a direct result of continuous Republican carping and fear mongering- in fact, as she's gone around the country and people get to know her, she's only doing better. Of course, compared with the dress wearing thrice divorced and inexperienced Rudy, or the adulterous and corrupt Newt or the mealy mouthed and ancient John McCain or the untested actor freddy Thompson - she may not even HAVE to get her negatives lower...

In poll after poll , she beats Rudy, McCain and Fred:

wiseguy asks:
"How does she get 47% positive?

How can anyone not see this phony, corrupt commie for the power-hungry POS she is?"

Did you ever consider that you're aan idiot and that the rest of us ain't as stupid as you?

I'm afraid that,
once again, I'll be forced to vote AGAINST the left wing candidate, rather than FOR a candidate on the right.

No matter how much I may disagree with Rudy, with Mitt or whoever the Republicans nominate, I'd much rather see them in office than the Hildabeast.

Ms. Rodham is history
She would be unelectable in most elections except for the vast clinton crime syndicate...the question will be if the Repub's will have the spine to pull out yhe stops to fully run against her.

Hillary and Friends
Hillary Rodham Clinton....Charlie Rangel....Daily Kos....Nancy Pelosi....Harry Reid....Barbara Boxer....Jesse Jackson....Code Pink....Barack Obama....Dennis Kucinich....Al Sharpton....Ward Churchill....La Raza....ACLU

Does this give you sufficient incentive to get out the conservative vote?

Is this enough to unite Republicans?

the missus clinton
she continually tells the public they don't know mthe real hillary. After 15 years in the limelight only those on the far left and the dims who hate the president refuse to see her true nature. But everything she has spoken or written is in the public record. She can run but she can't hide from the camera. Should she get the nomination we will be treated to never ending hillaryisms. The repubs don't have to do anything but show the missus clinton in action. All they need do is let missus clinton speak to the public. Her past will catch up with her and it won't be a pretty sight. The clintons think that every mistep will be forgotten or forgiven. But even the desire of the libs to resurrect bubba will prove fatal. His post-presidentcy is largely non-existent and other than accumulate millions there isn't much to brag about. But let the fun and games begin

What weight of Elephant?
...and Mrs. Bill Clinton will continue improve her UNpopularity ratings. Can 66% unapproval be far off?

"Two ton elephant"? How about a 10 ton elephant. She has these high negatives and no one has yet started playing hard ball with her. Just wait until the GOP hopefuls start pointing out her flaws:

1. She is obviously, demonstrably, and transparently corrupt. She has more than skeletons in her closet, they are falling out into the hallway.

2. She has very little public office experience (6 lackluster years). Only two senators IN HISTORY have jumped from that chamber to the WH.

3. She is shrill & people just don't like her. This is partly because she is difficult to listen to, she sounds like a b*tch, a nag, a phony, and like the wicked witch of the west. Who wants that for 4 years?

4. She has no executive management experience AT ALL. The presidency requires skills that Mrs. Clinton has not demonstrated. She is reputed to be a TERRIBLE manager, yelling at subordinates, calling people derogatory and racist terms, using the "F" word in wholly inappropriate situations, and so on.

5. People are not interested in dynastic presidencies. GW was elected in spite of this because the Dems put up two truly terrible and flawed candidates. Had they nominated someone respectable Bush would have never made it to the WH.

6. Not only is she shrill, inexperienced, and corrupt, she’s a Marxist. More recently she has promoted fascist tendencies what with wanting to nationalize 1/7th of the private economy. Furthermore, she will take the totalitarian route with health care and outlaw the ability of the individual to go outside of the national health care penumbra.

7. Stance on war. She has been for and against the Iraq war. This is her current other big negative from across the political spectrum.

Bottom line, she can't win as long as conservatives show up and vote. And this might even mean conservatives have to vote for Rudy.

Another way to look at it...
"Republicans face a potentially disastrous conundrum in the 2008 presidential nominating race: Rudi Mc Rommney, the front-runner, is the most uninspiring candidate among his party's contenders."

THIS is why I think Mrs Rodham-Clinton will win in '08.

Hillary does not deserve to be
president of the local home and scholl association never mind the US. What has she ever accomplished??the only reason she stayed with Bill was to make a run at the presidency because without him her chances would be nil.Which of course means she lied to the voters of NY when she ran for senator; but then she always lies doesn't she?

The McCain vs Hillary Factor
You know, I read about Hillary's negatives and how only Rudy can beat her in the general election but would that change if Rudy chose John McCain as his running mate? Could he really beat Hillary if he did that?

I'm one of those fence straddling Republicans (Fred or Rudy). This week I have read 2 news stories that indicate Rudy loves McCain. If anything could send me screaming to Fred, it would be the chance that Rudy would select McCain as his VP. I'd run screaming the other way if I thought Fred was going to do the same. McCain has too strong of a personality not to influence the President and has way too many negatives with me.

So, I'd like to know, if you vote for Rudy in the primary and he wins, then he turns around and picks McCain as VP, how would that impact your vote in the general election? How would you feel? How about if you didn't support Rudy in the primary and he picked McCain as his VP? Would you be more likely to sit out the general election? Vote for a third party candidate? Vote for a Democrat? Vote for Rudy, anyway?

In my opinion adding John McCain to a Republican ticket hurts the Republican Presidential candidate in the general election and could cancel out most of the gain achieved by the Hillary negatives but I don't know if I stand alone on this thinking.

Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush
Just say NO to dynasties of any stripe the US is not a monarchy. If she ever becomes president her unfavorable ratings will be even higher than those for GWB.

Least of the Evils; A Devil Nonetheless
I agree with the now dethroned radio talk-show host Imus’ characterization of Hillary; he repeated referred to her as the devil! Unfortunately, the democrats will probably go with her given she has the best chance of winning. This is especially true if she appeals to the majority of females voters; voters who may be hell-bent on overcoming the so-called “glass ceiling” of the Whitehouse in spite of Hillary’s character. What’s scary is that the republican side so far has not produced, in my opinion, a strong contender in the race. If Hillary wins the election in 2008, we as a country will deserve what we get for allowing her to rise to the top!

A preview of possible coming attractions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FENx8bzVvq8

Ms. Rodham Clinton
I often make a point of calling her Ms. Rodham Clinton. "Hillary," as Dick Morris writes, is a brand name. It's a Splenda-grade soft sell.

Nope, Won't Matter A Particle!
Just remember, "Warts and all" and "Yellow Dog Democrats".
When it is a choice between witholding your vote from the Democrat candidate (Warts and all) and risking losing the office to someone of another party, Republican or Indipendent, not one Democrat will stand on principle! Don't be naive,
Ross Perot didn't affect the Democrat vote. He only pulled votes from the Republican candidate.
Besides, the Union will haul you to the polls and
you may feel something cold against your ear.
Just a little humor there.

The real question is...
How does she get 47% positive?

How can anyone not see this phony, corrupt commie for the power-hungry POS she is?

The Main Stream Media
will re-invent Hillary. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
