Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Equally important was Bush's full-throated response to the foiled Islamic terrorist plot to blow up 10 passenger jets en route to the United States from Great Britain.

In a brilliant piece of intelligence work by British agents, with the help of United States and other intelligence services abroad, Bush jumped on the episode, showing that the terrorist threat to America was still dangerous and could happen at any time, unless we keep up our guard and improve the U.S. intelligence and global-surveillance weapons at our disposal.

His message - that the terrorists have to be right only once, but we have to be right 100 percent of the time -- struck a devastating note at the psyche of the American people who tire of the Iraq war but know we cannot end the war against those who want to blow up Americans.

As I forecast in an earlier column, the bomb plot pushed the president's job-approval score on his handling of terrorism to 55 percent. Americans will vote on many issues that concern them, but safeguarding homeland security has suddenly become a hot issue again. Bush is not going to let that issue fade in the weeks and months to come, senior officials told me last week.

Neither are the Republicans who intend to keep it at the center of their campaign agenda and in sync with Bush's message.

Another factor behind the Republicans' end-of-summer rise in the polls: They have spent the past month reminding voters, particularly the party's base, what they have done for their states and districts. Despite all the justified criticism about wasteful pork-barrel spending, the fact remains that most voters like their tax dollars coming back to them in bridge, road and other public-works projects, and members aren't shy about reminding them about the bacon they've brought home.

A few weeks ago, the Democrats were flying high in the generic polls, foretelling a wave of Republican losses in the House and Senate. But the once-hostile environment has turned noticeably friendlier for Republicans as voters contemplate putting liberal, anti-war Democrats in charge of national security and Bush and the GOP sharpen their message for the campaign to come.

Better 'Red' than dead, eh?
Folks, it comes down to this. Being against something is not enough for anything but those on the fringe and whom in the long run are irrelevant.
Republicans may be divided on some issues such and federal spending, illegal immigration and attempts at partisanship with the likes of Kennedy and Reid but one thing they are united on is not having a Speaker Pelosi or President Clinton.
Regarding local elections, the Democrats are completely feckless with ideas. In the final voting it will be some who hold their nose and vote Republican whether or not their candidate is a Rhino.
Take heart, it ain't as bad as the Dems and MSM would want you to believe. They also want you to feel hopeless such that you will stay home election day. Are you going to do so and hand them this election cycle? Didn't think so.

Polls help the Conservatives
To me the reality of polls is, the question lead to answers that don't really honestly state the truth thinking of the Average American. The pollsters tend to want to make the Liberals ideology appear to be the majority. With this the Democrats, who have worked for decades with the help of media and the teachers union, used stealth and deception prominence and power. Believing they had a big enough base, they begin to loosen their lips and come out of hiding of their true nature. Example, you think the illegals would have shown their Mexican flags if they knew the American Citizen would have reacted so negatively? The American media lies to the average American all the time. Now they are paying that price by the Democrats believing those lies as well. Though it was scary to see, for the fear that I don't know how effective the teacher union's success in dumbing down the populace, in my thinking I was pleased to see the polls so negative for the President. It emboldened the Democrats. They ignored the fact they had even lower ratings then the President. Also because the polls are deceptive, they can't attain the reason why President polls dropped. I say he lost the base, not because of the war. He lost the base because of Myers and amnesty. He lost the Democrats because of the war as demonstrated by Liberman lost. Democrats believe they have the moderates in their hands. As I stated in another post I was pleased that Liberman lost, because that would demonstrate the moderates are not sold on the withdrawal of troops now, when Liberman wins the Seat as an Independent. So we Conservatives need to let the polls beat up the GOP. We need to draw out our enemies in the open so we actually have a target that the American citizens can actually see. Israel and Lebanon, all we saw is the women and children dying. What news failed to show was the gunman hiding behind the helpless. That is what is happening in our politics. Liberals hiding behind the "children", poor, elderly..etc. We need them to show themselves for who they are, not those who they are using to achieve their goals.

For those who say they will vote Democrat cause of their disgust of the GOP. I assure you, I am in the crowd of looking at the parallels of ROME, the invasion of the poor in the world, and our inability to destroy an enemy before they destroy us. I am extremely upset with the corrupt GOP. When did the Government turn against the people?
As demonstrated by Israel withdrawel and apeasement to Hitler. Land for peace or apeasement for peace does not work. Think of this, if the Democrats control congress they will control what is voted on. We will never have the chance for a tax cut ever again, even if the majority of congress would vote for it. The media and congress will put pieces in the bill that will ensure that a Republican will have to vote for it despite what the bill will acomplished, or face the onsault of bad press for not voting for the "children"...etc. President doesn't write bills, only signs and vetos. The real power of direction in this country is Congress. Think about what the Democrats want for this country. And remember they only state what they think what the voters will accept, not what the really want.
Do you really want to repeat failure as proven by history? It took 200 years for the Liberals to come out of the closet. It is going to take the blogs, foxnews, Conservatives, more then a few terms to get rid of the Liberal monopoly out of education, activist judges, media and to get the Liberals out of the Repulican party. Infact it will likely to take a least a generation. We are the first generation to be exposed to the fact there is such a thing as RINOs. Educate your kids and know their future is in their hands.
