Ten Truths About The Election

Poll
Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

1. Obama's connection with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright makes him unelectable in the general election, even though neither he nor most of the pundits seem to have recognized this yet. Obama continues to campaign as if he is still viable. The mainstream media continues to cover him as if he was still viable. In reality, Obama’s candidacy is seriously imperilled, and Hillary Clinton—yes Hillary Clinton!—is the strongest Democratic candidate left in the race.

2. John McCain is the strongest candidate the Republicans could have nominated. This is not to say he is the perfect candidate. He is not conservative across the board, although he is conservative on the things that matter the most. He is a bit too old, and it shows. Still, he has the best chance of winning out of the GOP field. The irony is that if it were left up to the right-wing pundits, they would have chosen Mitt Romney.

3. Romney would have gone down to disastrous defeat, the worst since Barry Goldwater in 1964. Romney’s problem is that not even conservatives were unified behind him. His Mormonism would have been a serious problem for many Americans, including evangelical Christians who are part of the GOP base. Fortunately the Republican rank-and-file voters were smarter than the pundits. They chose the candidate with the best chance of winning independents and even some Democrats.

4. If Obama is the nominee, this is the GOP campaign commercials I envision. It begins by showing the rantings of Wright: America deserved to be attacked on 9/11, the government sponsors the Ku Klux Klan, AIDS is a federal plot, God damn America! These images are ccompanied by a voice-over noting that Wright is Obama's longtime mentor, and that Obama has attended this church for two decades. Then we see Obama saying he will no more disavow Wright than he would disavow a family member. Finalloy we see pictures of the two men embracing while a voice says, “Is this the man who is going to bring America together and stand up to our enemies?” At this point, it's done!

5. Even though Democratic super-delegates may soon realize that Hillary is their best hope for the general election, they will not dare to over-ride Obama's delegate lead and his popular vote lead. The reason is that political correctness is simply too strong in the Democratic party. Notice that Hillary has not condemned Obama for his association with Wright. Nor has she called him an irresponsible leftist. She is reduced to making bogus arguments against Obama, such as the charge that he would not be able to handle phone calls at three in the morning.

6. If the super-delegates do give it to Hillary, they will be denounced for using smoke-filled rooms to deny the first serious black presidential candidate his deserved opportunity. In addition to facing charges of subverting the democratic process, they will face widespread accusations of racism. Undoubtedly they will have to deal with massive discontent among the Democratic party's most loyal constituency, African Americans. Riots are not out of the question! The super-delegates recognize this, which is why I think they will feel compelled to go with Obama if he is the delegate and vote leader.

7. Still, Hillary is counting on those super-delegates. At this point, it seems the only way Hillary can win the Democratic nomination is by cajoling, threatening and seducing the super-delegates. It’s hard to see any other scenario in which Hillary could emerge as the nominee. The Florida and Michigan votes seem out of the picture, and even decisive victories from here on out make it unlikely that Hillary will overtake Obama. Female super-delegates may already be getting “Hi there” phone calls from Bill Clinton, who is still regarded as charming in certain Democratic quarters.

8. If by some miracle Hillary could draw even with Obama in delegates and surpass him in the popular vote, then her nomination would be perceived as deserved. In this case I think Obama would probably be willing to serve as her running mate. It’s still a big step up from first-term senator. But if Hillary gets the nod despite Obama's delegate and popular vote lead, Obama will almost surely be too disgusted to play second-fiddle.

9. Under no circumstances do I see Hillary being willing to serve as Obama's running mate. I suspect she would rather get out of the race and wait for another opportunity, even though such an opportunity doesn’t always come twice. Al Gore, John Kerry and John Edwards are walking illustrations of that point. Hillary may recognize the prudential wisdom of serving as Obama’s vice presidential candidate, and at the same time megalomaniacal self-pride might force her to refuse the invitation.

10. If Hillary does serve as Obama's running mate, and Obama is elected president, the man should get double security! The word among Democratic cognoscenti is that the Clintons would stop at nothing to get back into the White House.

what judgement?
I am a liberal and do not support Obama. He has no record and we are asked to make determination on his judgment. His "judgment" has failed to impress and suggested more of a naivety than any deep grasp of the situation. I do not find him "wise" beyond his years. I am not impressed with his voting record and voting "present" 130 times isn't reassuring. This reflects the judgment of not wanting to look bad, not wanting to taking risks, or standing for principles.

califson
so then why does obama beat hillary so bad in this poll.

you are grasping at straws my friend.

here is the link to rasmussen that gives mccain the lead in 3 polls and obama in 2

Latest poll in Christianty Today
Who do you support for president?

John McCain 53%
Obama 29%
Clinton 8%
paul 3%
Other 7%

I would say thats a direct result of Obama's association with Rev. Wright, and his outragous statements about typical white people, and a baby being a punishment, as well as his thoughts on how to get to heaven without Christ.

Why is Barack Obama running for Pres?
Why is Barack Obama running for President?
He claims that he is uniquely qualified to “bring our country together” and that despite his lack of experience and relative youth, he has demonstrated superior “judgment”.
Obama has now acknowledged Reverend Jeremiah Wright, used incendiary language that widened the racial divide. Obama says of (his) fellow congregants that (their) anger is real; it is powerful; and that not understanding its roots, serves to widen the chasm between the races.
If Obama is really the Reconciler in Chief, why didn’t he change the hearts of Rev. Wright and his flock over the past 20 years? Everyone is asking what influence the good Reverend had on the candidate, but shouldn’t we be wondering why the very people Obama knew best; still hate America, the White Man and Israel?
With regard to the issue of judgment; Obama demeans President Bush, John McCain and the Clintons claiming that they didn’t know what was going on inside Saddam’s closed police state, (10,000 miles away) meanwhile he didn’t know what was happening in the pew right next to him.
I think that pretty well puts the qualifications issue to rest.

thanks for the thoughtful post, i agree whole heartedly.

it is important i think, that we (liberals and conservatives ) continue to exchange ideas for underneath all the rancor and disagreement we are still all americans.

we live in the greatest country of the world and i am grateful every day for that.

religiouslib
There are many things I do not agree with, but have no control of ,nor do I want to. I cannot walk in your shoes, nor you in mine. Nor do I want to.

I will never see your side, completely, nor you mine.We are different because we are supposed to be. I have never done anything in my long life to deliberately hurt another person,no matter their color or their station in life. That is all I can be responsible for.

It is good that we have more than one political side to choose from,as we all have different perspectives.I will vote for whoever is nearest to what I believe and would expect you to do the same.

As for the candidates. We should know them upside down and inside out before we cast a vote for them.If after we are satisfied that we know everything relevant about them, then we have to trust that they will do what is good for the country, not just what is good, individually.

To Religiouslib
He may have regained some of his numbers against Hillary, but not against McCain. Its true that he does not have the white support "typical white people as he calls them" he once had, and its due to his relationship with Rev. Wright, and what he keeps saying in public. Yes I attend many different types of churches as a lay speaker. Black and white, I have never heard this sort of vile, hate filled racist preaching. Christianty is all about unity, love, and salvation. For Obama to call a baby punishment is a major gaff. He even favors partial birth abortion, murder of a vibile born human child. Thats punishment. This guy is serious danger to the future of our free nation. You can find polls that will tell you just about anything you want to know...

Religiouslib
"just because you attend a racist church does not make you a racist"

What if you attended for 20 years?

Gave so far as we know, $27k in donations to this church?

Had the pastor bless your home?

Perform the marital ceremony with you and your wife?

Baptized your kids?

Wrote a book inspired by the pastor giving all credit to him?

But what do I know? In the immortal words of Obama, I'm simply a "Typical White Person."

I've been to black churches when I tagged along with my friend every now and then. There was NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING anti-American, racist or hateful going on. Yes, they had great music, they sang wonderful awesome gospel and they danced, BUT never did they ever scream hatred. It was about loving God.

Obama went to Trinity for social and political reasons. There were and are tons of black churches that Mr. Uniter could've gone to in order to placate the blacks for his career. But he didn't. He went to THIS one and stayed 20 years.

His speech meant nothing. His actions speak louder than words, except for the real words coming out of his mouth of "Typical White Person."

He's talking about you and me, did you not know that or do you not care? I'm no racist, but I'm typical in his eyes as all white people are, and deems us all racists and people who are in fear of blacks. He did not say a small group of whites, or a minority of whites, but TYPICAL white persons when describing his grandmother's racism.

Tell me, do you believe that when a murderer is found guilty and he reads a script apologizing to the families for his acts in court---do you think he's really not guilty after that?

Yawn...
Maybe the biggest 'problem' out there is the fact that the entire country has spent so much time yakking about this election. It started after the 2006 election cycle but has been in the wind since 2000... all the nonsense about 'Hillary' blowing away all competition in 2008! One thing I wonder about is why the hell the other 97 senators who aren't running for President deserve a full-time salary, since it seems to be a job that can be done by the three candidates on the fly.
I'm tired of the charade. Twenty-two debates & counting? And that's just the Dems! Kennedy & Nixon had two! Tons of money being transferred from wealthy supporters to wealthy media moguls. And for what? Hillary or Obama? Neither of them should even be in the senate... dog-catchers, maybe.
I've decided it's McCain, hands down & going away, and we're lucky to have him.
For me, it's back to the Law & Order re-runs and some serious reading.
Have a good time!

rowly
thanks for your civil response and stating the fact that you would condemn it.

that is being intellectually honest and consistent and i respect that.

i am not going to print the brigham young quote (you can google it) but in the end he literally says anyone who marries a black should be killed.

now, my only point is that mormon politicians (both democrat and republican) grew up in a church that taught institutionalized racism.

they attended that church for many years while that policy was in effect.

they also do not seem to have carried those teachings of racism into their public or private life.

i say the same can be said of obama.

just because you attend a racist church does not make you a racist

just as it did not make orrin hatch, harry reid, or mitt romneys father, racists.

you may not agree completely but surely you can see the logic of the analogy.

want to be fooled
Religious lib writes: "orrin hatch attended the mormon church for 30 years when they had a church policy that stated blacks were condemned by God and an inferior race".

Why do leftists come to conservative sites with their inadequate arguments comparing apples to oranges? Stay on your own sites where this kind of sloppiness gets a pass.

Give a contemporary comparison. Was the pastor Hatch's mentor and substitute father? Was Hatch hypocritically running for president on a platform of uniting the races?

Liberals and logic are complete strangers.

Religious lib should also acquaint him/herself with capital letters.

religiouslib
It is not my place to condemn the Mormons. If I heard the same words from them,I surely would have an opinion and it would be just as harsh.Words like those do not belong in a church.Any church.

I have never attended a predominately black church.Several blacks have attended the church where I go.I realize all churches are not the same, but ALL who profess to be Christians, should try to act Christ-like,as best they can.Especially in church.

I am aware that Wright is a vet.He was probably a good soldier. He is supposed to be a soldier of God,now. He should act like it.

I do not expect you to agree with me.You don't need to.I am just making a comment,as is everyone else on this thread.

rowly
ever been to an african-american church?

the church i grew up in traded churches once a year with a local african-american church.

it can get wild, keep in mind that the church was the center of the civil rights movement.

having said that, i will agree that the snippets we have heard from wright were anti-american and way over the line.

i would like to hear entire sermons rather than less than the 5 minutes we have only seen.

you are aware that wright is a veteran right.

finally, i notice you don't condemn the institutionalized racism of the mormon church which current mormon politicians attended regularly before the racial policy was rescinded.

religiouslib
You call what we have heard from Obama's Wright, worship? What kind of church do you attend? I've been to a lot of them, but NEVER heard anything remotely like I have heard from that maniac.

That just does NOT happen in real churches. Now houses of hate? Yes,maybe, but not a real church.

kindel
orrin hatch attended the mormon church for 30 years when they had a church policy that stated blacks were condemned by God and an inferior race.

should hatch have left the church and face questions as to whether he shared that point of view.

now personally i don't think he should but the same standard should apply to obama.

america was founded by those who were seeking the right to worship in any church that they wanted.

it could be that most americans understand that distinction and you do not.

want to be fooled

Obama should be dead man walking after the black supremacist beliefs of his wife and pastor that he clearly shares blasted his uniter credentials to smithereens but you can fool or guilt some of the people all of the time i.e. Democrats.

califson
that simply is not true, in the past week he has regained an widened his lead on the daily gallup tracking polls.

his numbers for white voters in north carolina went up from 32 to 40 after his speech.

have any opinion you want but stick to the facts please.

March 30, 2008
Gallup Daily: Obama Now at 52% to Clinton’s 42%
McCain still has slight advantage over both Democratic opponents

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama has extended his lead over Hillary Clinton among Democrats nationally to 52% to 42%, the third consecutive Gallup Poll Daily tracking report in which he has held a statistically significant lead, and Obama's largest lead of the year so far.

Obama is losing support daily
Obama quotes just this week; "I have 6 and a 9 year old girls, I will teach them values & morals, I do not want them PUNISHED with a baby"...Jews and Muslims who live good lives are children of God just like me." (as a Christian) "My mother did not believe as I do (Christian) but I know she is in heaven today." This thinking comes from 20 years under the teaching of Rev. Wright. We love the lost as Christians enought to stand for the truth of the Holy Bible, and the only way to salvation is faith in Christ. That is not P.C. today, but its the truth. Obama is damaged goods, and is losing support daily. His African American supporters are not thinking clearly when they rave about Rev. Wright and his racial hate speech. Obama must have the "typical white persons," support if he has any chance in getting elected, he does not have it and he is losing more daily.

D'Souza's absolutely correct about Obama
As I've been saying in posts on TH since Obama's speech, the speech ended Obama's candidacy. He cannot be elected president. Republicans can just do what D'Souza suggests and voters will fall away from Obama like leaves in an autumn breeze.

The question political analysts will be working on for a while is---why? Why did Obama blow one of the strongest public groundswells I've seen for a candidate in my lifetime? Why did he bring up precisely the divisive issue of race that the pundits had credited him with laying to rest?

I say it's Obama's arrogance. He believed he could charm his way through any problem, even a problem he gave himself that he did not need to take on. He should have severed his ties with Wright, said virtually nothing, and kept right on message in his campaign. So, Obama's kamikaze act was all about Obama. Too bad.

I'm a lifelong liberal Democrat, but Obama is not my idea of a competent president. That leaves Hillary....but that's--as Bill Clinton might have put it--a tough swallow. (sorry)

reply to I'd rather be in Alaska
Did you follow ANY of the debates among conservatives about Romney's Mormonism as a liability? Plenty of "religious conservatives" had problems with Romney's religion. We "secular progressives" are all for religious tolerance anyway, and very few of us expressed criticisms of Romney's religion. There was, after all, so much more we could find to criticize about him.

Obama's Money
While pledging to turn down donations from lobbyists themselves, Sen. Barack Obama raised more than $1 million in the first three months of his presidential campaign from law firms and companies that have major lobbying operations in the nation’s capital.Portraying himself as a new-style politician determined to reform Washington, Obama makes his policy clear in fundraising invitations, stating that he takes no donations from “federal lobbyists.” His aides announced last week he was returning $43,000 to lobbyists who donated to his campaign.

But the Illinois Democrat’s policy of shunning money from lobbyists registered to do business on Capitol Hill does not extend to lawyers whose partners lobby there.

Nor does the ban apply to corporations that have major lobbying operations in Washington. And the prohibition does not extend to lobbyists who ply their trade in such state capitals as Springfield, Ill.; Tallahassee, Fla.; and Sacramento, though some deal with national clients and issues.

Phylo
Obama erased all doubts with his beautiful speech regarding his spiritual mentor?

How about when Obama doesn't read a speech?

You said, "I'm saving this column for posterity. What a joke."

"I suppose that folks will vote based on Wright as their house is taken from them, as they can't afford to fill their gas tank, as the price of feeding their family goes through the roof. THAT would make sense! "

"I can't believe D'Nesh (sic) bought into the MSM lie about religious conservatives and Romney. The people who would not vote for Romney BECAUSE of his religion are secular progressives, not religious conservatives."

Allow me to introduce myself: I am Christian and a conservative. Though not an "evangelical", I will not vote for any presidential ticket that includes any Mormon. Your suggestion that I must therefore be a "secular progressive" is painfully laughable.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: however pleasant its adherents may seem, Mormonism is nothing more than a cult, fraudulent from its very inception, that arose to satisfy the material cravings of its founder, and in that sense is no different from Scientology or Mohammedanism. Romney's membership disqualifies him. Deal with it.

And if you think I'm the only such conservative Christian, then I have a "bridge to nowhere" that I'll cheerfully sell you.

10 OPINIONS about the Election
SOME of them may be correct, but there are NO facts here.

Ten Truths about the Election
Done in your mind, not his supporters. We not only recognize tolerance but support it. You don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

Hillary who wants a President who lies over and over until she is busted. Just so she can say she has more experience. Apparently she doesn't. Now what is she going to run on. She now has no message.

Give. He's leading in delegates, states and the popular vote. He's not going to be given anything. Hillary had all the toys in the sand box and Her arrogance did her in.

Riots what a stero type- I challenge you to talk to Corey the mayor of Newark, he would definately disagree with you.

Serves as her running mate, why would a winner take second place.

for jerabaub
jerabaub writes: "Bush and Cheney's swigging on the slop in the neocon trough has brought our Republic to such a deplorable state"

But that wouldn't be the end of the world for conservatives, if they had realized you are right about that and took action.

Look at what happened in France: Chirac, the conservative, was doing a lousy job, and it looked like the Socialists, led by Royal, had a good chance to win the next election.

But when French conservatives realized what a lousy job their leader Chirac was doing, they dumped him and threw their allegiance to Sarkozy. With their solid help, Sarkozy overcame voter disenchantment with Chirac and won anyway.

The problem here in America is NOT Bush's alone. It's this emotional loyalty that so many conservatives still have for the Bush Administration, and the refusal of the GOP base to dump him for his incompetence. Unlike French conservatives with Chirac, GOP conservatives are mostly following Bush right over the cliff.

for PC
PC writes: "Romney had the strongest support from real republican voters and if he were the nominee right now the base would be excited and willing to donate and to help get out the vote in Nov. "

But Romney would have lost everybody else BUT the base. And the election.

How big is the GOP base anyway??? 30% of the electorate? How could Romney win over moderates and Independents with the kind of doctrinaire right-wing platform you want?

Romney would lose every Blue State. He would lose Ohio too, since Ohio soured on the GOP due to the scandals there. And with those losses, he could not win a majority in the Electoral College.

To win this election, McCain has to win Blue States. And Blue States are further to the left than YOU are. You may not like that, but without Ohio, no Republican can win the White House anymore solely on Red States alone.

Face facts for once, OK? YOU are not representative of the American mainstream. YOU are way to the right of that mainstream.

No Republican can win the White House on YOUR votes alone anymore. There just aren't enough of you.

D'Nesh, you mailed this one in
One of the most thoughtless pieces of drivel ever submitted as a column. And I'm generally a D'Souza fan.

D'Souza writes: "Romney’s problem is that not even conservatives were unified behind him. His Mormonism would have been a serious problem for many Americans, including evangelical Christians who are part of the GOP base."

I can't believe D'Nesh bought into the MSM lie about religious conservatives and Romney. The people who would not vote for Romney BECAUSE of his religion are secular progressives, not religious conservatives.

Ten lies about the election
1.Obama is electable and will get the nomination.
2.McCain is the perfect Republican candidate to beat either Obama or your favorite Queen Hillary.
It's better to attack McCain on the war in Iraq and his 100 year comment. At least he doesn't have to worry about Mormon attacks.
3.The media chose McCain as the candidate for the Republicans.
4.Obama will get the nomination and you don't have to envision anything. We see on a daily bases what Obama will go through if he gets the nomination. The only problem with the attacks is that Obama is being attacked for being a liberal. Excuse me. Wake up Conservatives Obama is a liberal, stop expecting Obama to act like a Conservative.
5.No campaigning on the part of the Conservatives for Hillary is going to get one Super Delegate to switch from Obama to Hillary. The only persons who can't read the writing on the wall are Hillary and the Conservatives who are campaigning for her.
6.There is no way the Democrat leadership or the Super Delegates are going to give the nomination to Hillary and go against the will of the people.
7.Hillary is not counting on the Super Delegates. Even the worlds smartest woman knows it's over. Hillary is still hoping the Conservatives will continue to portray her as the victim in this race.
8.Hillary will not surpass Obama regardless of crossing fingers or wishful thinking.
9.Hillary will not drop out the race for any reasons. The Clintons looks at the Presidency as an entitlement.
10.This time you are right. Hillary will anything to get back into the White House. If Hillary stood silent when it was reported Fox had adoped her as a Republican, Hillary will do anything. If Hillary lets Conservatives campaign for her against Obama, Hillary will do anything to get back in the White House.

infidel57
If my guess is correct, anything Sen. Obama says would be okay by you.

First of all, even if Falwell and Wright where comparable (which they’re not) that’s pointing to bad behavior to justify bad behavior.

Also, the argument isn’t about how Rev. Wright came to be the man he is. I could care less. It’s about why Sen. Obama’s would maintain a 23 year relationship with an obvious racist. How long does it take to know someone?

Those enamored with the senator will continue to deflect, rationalize, and spin this issue regardless of the facts.

Time will tell
Time will tell how this race pans out. Dinesh has a good point, however. The fact that the anti-Christian rhetoric of Rev Wright hasn't seemed to have much of an impact on the dem race is consistent with the far left liberal attitude of the dems. They don't seem to care about such things as "one's country" or the "equality of all men" that requres as a basis the respect for human life. But in the general election, many Americans will remember what Wright said and what appears, based on Obama's rationale and the rhetoric of similar (not all) black churchs, to be the attitude of many black people. That will severely taint the brilliant oratory of the "change" candidate and suggest that the change he has in mind is not for them.

Rapier
What if this is their master plan?If he said in public he was Muslim, would he be where he is now?I don't think so.I believe he has been groomed for years to be where he is now.We know Muslims are becoming more and more prevalent in our country.

Wouldn't they want someone in the White House to do their bidding? Do we know where his allegiences lie? What do we really know about him?It is as if he was planted here a few years ago and not heard of much until this decade.

He does have some unsavory characters for friends.Call my a conspiracy theroist.I will admit it and it doesn't bother me if you disagree. It is just my opinion.

By another man's standards for "winning the war on terror" your examples (if true) just show why we shouldn't be so quick to exit Iraq.

We broke it...we should fix it...AND WE SHOULD GET IT RIGHT!!!
The alternative is nothing we should be 'looking forward to' as your thesis would have us do.

W/O=

Bubba on al-Sadr
In fact the events of this weekend have convinced Sadrists they need their guns more than ever.

Al-Maliki would not be in power but for the initial support of the Sadrists. Since their alliance has fractured he has aligned himself with the SCII, a party born, bred, and funded by Iran, with a leader, al-Hakim, every bit as theocratic as al-Sadr, who has recently returned from 23 years of exile in Tehran.

For the Basra campaign al-Maliki employed the armed wing of SCII, the Badr Brigade, as his 'army'. Herein lies the rub, although he framed the assault in terms of eradicating lawlessness, no effort was made to reign in elements of the Badr Brigade who are responsible for the organization oil smuggling in the area.

So the fallout of the campaign is that our guy has used the power of the gov't to marginalize political opponents with the help of US forces.

This amounts to the US taking sides in a civil war, a body blow for McCain's argument that Iraq is all about winning the WOT.

Obama on his church, what he means
Barack has left the realm of the candidate who transcends race to the candidate who represents race.

Obama is winking at the black community on the sly that he does agree that America is hateful, racist, and is a danger to the world, for this is the narrative from the leadership of the black community. This is pot stirring that black leaders use to keep their constituents in a constant state of turmoil and outrage so that they will stay on the correct side of the issue.

This sort of Us against Them system of control is a common top down tool used to keep people under the thumb of leaders who have little else to offer.

This Wright incident has revealed that Barack Obama is not above signing on to the sort of anti-American rhetoric as espoused by the Farrakhans and Rev. Wrights of this nation. In fact he is quite eager to do so.

The only change the candidate of change offers is that folks who disagree with him should just shut up, change their minds and forget about what they wanted before Barack descended down to us from on high.

The Hypocrite That Is
1st Term Senator Barry O'Blame-Ya had the nerve recently to make a point of John McCains self-professed lack of understanding of the economy...
BUT anyone who saw the Senator's recent sit down with the Money-Honey must have seen that 'deer in the headlights' look in Barry's eyes when some serious economic questions were raised about his plan!
O'Blame-Ya was exposed as a fraud for pretending he actually understood ANYTHING about the free enterprise system as it relates to the US economy!

Poor Barry...boo-hoo...he probably thought Maria was going to give him the kind of 'soft-ball' treatment he has grown too accustomed to from the MSM this entire primary season. WRONG!

AND Another Truth Worth Remembering
"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him."

"The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community..."

"Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy."

"What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."

Jim Cone -
Union Theological Seminary, New York
================================

Rev. Wright credits Prof. Jim Cone with systematizing the principles of "Black Values System", the theology being used by Rev. Wright in the Trinity United Church of Christ, the church the O'Blame-Ya's attend(ed) with their two children every Sunday Until they moved to DC!

Week after week Barak & Michelle Obama forced their kids to absorb the racist rantings of Barry's "mentor and spiritual advisor" Rev Wright (though now he denies ever describing Jerry as such)!
Does anyone really think O'Blame-Ya's kids think of Jeremiah as being "the crazy uncle" their father does? Or is it more likely they think the Reverend's words & behavior are normal?

So...at the same time he would have us believe he is the 'Post-Racial Uniter', Senator Barry O'Blame-Ya'll is responsible for exposing his two young children to the bigoted, racist and hateful rhetoric of 'uncle Jerry'.
AND worse still he thinks WE should allow him to make decisions for OUR CHILDREN when he can't even do the right thing by his own.

Gore as the Dems' nominee?
As much fun as some people might be having with the thought that a deadlocked Democratic Party might turn to Al Gore as a compromise candidate (think John W. Davis in 1924), it's even unlikelier than either Hillary or Obama being the other's vice-presidential running mate. I think many Democratic Party voters would be furious if the party leaders foisted on them a candidate whom almost none voted for in the primaries except the few who might have written in Gore's name - and this would have a bad ripple effect in the Democratic Party for many years to come. And there's absolutely no way that Hillary would cede the nomination to Gore without putting up the fight of her political life - and in this, she'd be entirely justified. Gore might actually be more electable than either Hillary or Obama, but he won't get the opportunity this year, no chance. By the way, in the election of 1924 I mentioned earlier, Davis was a candidate chosen to break a deadlock that had lasted for 102 ballots at the Democrats' convention, and his Republican opponent, Calvin Coolidge, was having to run in the face of the just-revealed Teapot Dome scandal and other scandals of his predecessor, the deceased President Warren Harding. And Davis still got waxed in the general election.

Rapier
Is there really proof that he has become Christian? I would like to hear his definition of Christian.Evidently it is not mine.I could say I was Mormon or Jehovah's Witness. It would not make it true.I just wonder if he has shown any proof.

Just because he goes to a SUPPOSEDLY Christian Church, does not make him Christian. The Rev.Billy Sunday said "going to a church does not make you a Christian any more than going into a garage makes you a car".

Some More Truths
For Mdogg;
"The polls indicate very little shifting for Obama"
That the polls you cite were taken by Gallup and polled ONLY Dem voters (no Indies...no Republicans...few women) the 'very little shifting' assertion rings hollow.

For Phylo Out-of-his-mind;
O'Blame-Ya NEVER admitted the reason Dr Wright was 'uninvited' was because of the Mad Doctors remarks.
THAT idea is TOTAL speculation on the part of people trying to determine "What O'Blame-Ya knew AND when did he know it".

BUT you just go on making it up as you go along...After all, O'Blame-Ya does!

Then he became "Christian". He states he plans to visit with our Muslim allies and enemies and make nice. What about the possibility of the Secret Service starting the next war, when these same Muslims attempt to kill the traitor to the faithful?

Another problem for Obama
After reading the comments above about Musa Abu Marzuq, I went to research him. Very disturbing to me and for Obama.

When is the Democrats and DNC going to wise up? How many issues need to come to light about this man? I just don't get it.

Sadr’s people are his personal a militia. If I were leading a militia which was in conflict with the USA I am sure I would be disarmed and arrested.

We have been hearing that the Iraq government will never be strong enough to provide law and order and protect the people. Now they are strong enough and it is time for people like Sadr to get with the program and stop the tribal BS.

Saddam is gone and Sadr no longer needs an armed camp. Let the government provide the police. Sadr is thug and only will work with the government as long as he is bribed to do so.

The Shi‘a are no longer being put down by the government as the Sunni/Ba’ath did to them under Saddam.

My government will not ask me to disarm as long as I obey the law, unless we elect the liberals.

Sadr is an armed threat inside the country. He is not a national leader; he is like a war lord.

Hawk on civil war in Iraq
How is calling a spade a spade ignorance. By every measure, even the highly conditional defintition of the WH, this is a civil war. And much like the other issue discussed here, race, pretending it isn't won't make it go away.

In fact the admin's refusal to acknowledge the prospect of civil war for lo these many years is another reflection of their incompetence and lack of vision. You know who did recognize what was going on? Iran. They recognized from the start that the real story in Iraq was sectarianism, hedged their bets by supporting all the Shiite sects indiscriminately, and will now reap the benefits no matter who comes out on top.

infidel57 on D'Souza
"And it's ironic that D'Souza is so dismissive of racism since the Indians bore the brunt [of] it from [Great Britain] when [Britain ruled] India."

Dinesh D'Souza was born in Bombay in 1961 -- that would be fourteen years *after* India achieved independence, for those of you in the proverbial Rio Linda. His parents were from Goa, which is how he comes by the Portuguese surname and his Catholicism. Since 1978 he has lived in the United States, where our allegedly pervasive racism doesn't seem to have held him back much.

I confess to the sin of envy: before his marriage in 1992, he had dated both Laura Ingraham *and* Ann Coulter.

Wow.

Give me a break infidel
Just what about Wright's past seems to indicate he had any interaction with water hoses and lynchings. Growing up in the Northeast and Midwest was hardly akin to the struggles in the South. Sounds to me like Wright had a pretty decent middle class upbringing and owes quite a bit of his education to the good ole US Military. Attending the University of Chicago is hardly the plight of an oppressed person.

Obama's judgement is forever tainted
For those that disagree with the opinion that Obama is unelectable: Democrats are seemingly accepting of his character and judgement flaws except for those blue collar workers. When it gets to the general election, it will be telling. Independents and even those Republicans Obama says he has will not longer be on his side.

The Black Liberation Theology of Barack's church and of Reverend Wright along with the Anti-white racism and other racist views towards other ethnic group racisms and the Anti-Americanism will not fly with Americans.

Obama says that church is like most others that blacks attend. I hope not. I'd like to believe most blacks do not want to be construed as victims but rather as survivors.

Proud Liberal and others
How comfortable and secure would you feel if you were that one heartbeat standing between Vice-President Hillary and the Oval Office?

Any thinking person would want a Secret Service food taster.

McCain's Bible Pounding nut jobs
It's amazing the the press seems to be giving McCain a pass on the endorsements, which pursued, of the Christian hate squads. He lost me last year when he went on bended knee to genuflect before Jerry Falwell at Liberty University. This week, he's showing up at one of the most contemptible of the antiscience groups, the Discovery Institute.

Obama's distancing himself from a man who grew up in the Bull Conners era and still remembers the water hoses and the lynchings is adequate for me.

And it's ironic that D'Souza is so dismissive of racism since the Indians bore the brunt it from England when England occupied India.

mdogg
So military lovin dog has been banned and reappeared as this.....stuff.

the wrong of Wright
Mdoggg writes (8:57am), "How much milage [sic] do Republicans REALLY think they can get off of playing the same clip repeatedly - of a pastor NO LONGER with the church?"

A little thought exercise: what were you doing twenty years ago? Not that I care about the answer: rather, doesn't that seem like forever ago to you? Twenty years is a very long time: more than a thousand Sundays.

Granted, Obama probably spent a few of those Sundays in Springfield or Washington in his capacity as a legislator. But throughout this lengthy period, Wright was his primary spiritual adviser -- indeed, his "mentor". Nobody denies that.

You may decry it as unfair, and you may hope that it's unlikely, but the poisonous ideology of this mentor, irrespective of his convenient "retirement", will remain an issue throughout the campaign season with the people that matter: those who are not already among the swooning and fainting at Obama rallies. Without them, Obama is at best just a black McGovern, and McCain carries forty states or more.

OBAMA AND THE RADICAL LEFT

.....Obamas association with Wright will not hurt him with his radical left supporters ...most probably agree with Wright ...but Wright will sink Obama in a National election ...there are not enough blacks, brain-dead college morons and white guilt Liberals in the Country to elect Obama ...patriotic blue collar Democrats and Independents will not vote for him .....COLOSSUS

It's been said that we get the government that we deserve. If D'Souza's commercial could sway the American public to vote against Obama then we don't deserve to have such a fine man as president.

The commercial D'Souza proposes is of course demogogic and sophist. It would be a real test of America's emotional intelligence.

Pancho, Bubba, and Sadr
Pancho writes (10:21am), "So, if your government asked you to disarm, you would gladly comply?"

Of course not: I have the inalienable right, given me by no less than my Creator, "to keep and bear arms." However, if I were maintaining a private army and using it to enforce my will in US territory, I should not be surprised that the government would come to put me out of business.

Bubba wrote (10:06am), "If he [Sadr] is guilty of murder, try and execute him. Otherwise exile him."

No, hunt him down and kill him now. Close your eyes and conjure this future headline: "radical Shiite cleric returns from foreign exile and overthrows US-friendly government." Sound familiar? We all know how well that turned out last time we let that happen.

Another Truth about Jeremiah Wright
How can anyone with any common sense attach Reverend to Jeremiah Wright? Reverend means a right to respect! Wright is a Hatemonger along with Obama. Obama's actions have shown he, too, along with his wife and their church, hate America. However, Obama tries to conceal it in order to win votes for himself from the gullible, misinformed and misguided in our country. Wright has spread hatred (and his propoganda)for whites, America and Israel for several generations of young people for over 30 years! It is only because they got caught before the election that Obama is having Wright step out of the "spotlight."

We have a liar in Hillary AND Obama, among other things. Both are unfit and unqualified to be President of the United States. Bill Clinton is a liar, immoral and has been shown publically to be all of this and more.

I'll take Dinesh more seriously
when I'm convinced he is not really a 13 year old posing as an adult.

Folks, nobody cares about Obama's minister - he's not the one running for office. In fact, the NY Times did a highly critical piece on this relationship (yes, that NY Times that you hate when it says something you don't like) before the primaries even began. It happened to be a long, in-depth and very critical analysis.

I think that the only people that are wasting energy on this subject are the handful of malcontents and homebodies who spend their lives on TH, comforting each other with emotional story-making. The others are columnists who understand that this is where their bread is buttered and know how to profit from it.

All you have to do is go out into public and the world, talk to people, read a variety of sources and, when you do sit down to your computer look at political sites where people don't think that genuine cleverness is about name-calling, bad puns, and insults, you will see TH in the kind of perspective it deserves - a little swarm of gnats, buzzing around a dead swamp-log, oblivious to the same world that is oblivious to it.

I'm off - have a novel to finish, a history book to begin, a garden to plant, a caucus planning committee to attend, and two hours of volunteer work at the hospital. Trust me, I'll get a better picture of what's what by the end of the day than I would after an entire year on this blog.

MDoggg And Phylo
I stated my opinion. That is what this column invites. You state yours and I will read it,however inane and sarcastic it is.

I am not about to take my valuable time to try to argue my position with you.I do not like wasting my time and that is what I would be doing.

In a few months we will see who is right and who is wrong. My mind will not change.Yours probably won't either. We are light years apart.

Now, you have a nice day and enjoy your fantacies.

American History
American history is being repeated, once again.A movement started in the 1860's,which led to an economic crisis in the 1890's.Government reforming the economy, will prove your determining issue.Mr.McCain has no "CLUE", that the economy is dysfunctional.A "Depression" will take place in America, within one year of a McCain Presidency.

I think D'Souza makes good points
One nice thing about D'Souza - whether or not you agree with him, he tends to write rationally, not emotionally.

At any rate, while I never agreed with Obama on the issues, when I first saw him in debates, I thought - Wow! - here is a great candidate. His race didn't matter. He seemed thoughtful, intelligent, articulate, charismatic and fundamentally decent. However, Michelle Obama's comment bugged me. Rev. Wright's comments disgusted me. Obama is supposed to be running to lead all of America, not just black America. If he could go to Trinity for 20 years and not care that his own white grandmother would have felt unwelcome in that church - well, what does that say about him as a unifier? And it's not just one or two clips of Rev. Wright - it's excerpts from numerous sermons, musings from Trumpet magazine, the church's endorsement of Farrakhan, etc.

I know many white (and non-white!) independents who were leaning Obama, but who also see McCain as an acceptable GOP candidate. When they find out about Rev. Wright, their reaction is invariably shock and disillusionment. They will vote for McCain.

It's unfortunate that some people hold Romney's Mormonism against him. I personally don't get it. However, wishing for reality to match one's desires doesn't make it so.

The reason they play ball games, Dinesh
is........?

Let's play the ball game, Dinesh, before claiming that Obama is unelectable.

Personally, I look forward to the debates between McCain and Obama. Obama is a smart intellectual who certainly has the potential to win the intellectual battles with McCain in terms of ideology.

Unfortunatly, American voters tend to vote for the good looking, taller guy who seems to have some quality they like, i.e., they go with their guts instead of their minds.

This may spell Obama's downfall rather than anything else.

Obama : Sunk by Jeremiah Wright
I sincerely hope Dinesh is correct about Obama's inability to win the general election because of the Wright controversy - or any legitimate or illegitimate reason for that matter. Once the 527 organizations commence broadcasting the Wright images and audio day after endless day, many white voters will abandon Obama. McCain will wisely decline to associate himself with Wright-Obama ads, but the 527s will do the job nicely. In debates with McCain, as well as campaign advertisement, Obama will for the very first time be confronted with his liberal agenda for America as the candidates finally debate the issues. Given the fact that America is a center-right country, I believe Obama's far left agenda, supported by the likes of Daily Kos, Moveon.org, Code Pink, etc., will be a turn-off to thinking Americans. I'm also counting on many of Hillary's supporters deserting the Democratic Party if Obama wins the nomination (currently 28% of Hillary supporters say they will vote McCain over Obama). Then you have the disenfranchised Michigan and Florida voters, who may stay home or vote for John McCain out of anger and disillusionment with the Democratic Party. I'm starting to like our chances. McCain '08!

A Vote For McCain=A Vote For Amnesty

McCain keeps saying "Secure the border first". We know that he means amnesty next. The plan is to get the border state Gov's to declare the border secure. Conveniently, they are all on board the cheap labor express. Then his good friend Ted Kennedy will bring back McCain/Kennedy and McCain can provide his good friends across the aisle with their new permanent majority.

I will not vote for amnesty.

http://townhall.com/columnists/AmandaCarpenter/2008/03/28/b loggers_press_mccain_adviser_on_immigration
“John McCain’s position on immigration is very clear and this a question that gets asked at townhall appearances everyday in media appearances and has answered the question at least a thousand times before the New Hampshire primary,” Schmidt said.

He explained, “Any person who supports John McCain’s campaigns is a subscriber to John McCain’s views"

A vote for McCain is a vote for surrender of your country.

hawk wrote: This guy has character? He lies first to the American public "I wasn't in church" and then says he was in church but he didn't hear any incendiary remarks."

Phylo: Actually, Obama said at the beginning of his campaign that Dr. Wright had made some controversial comments in the past and that was why he didn't invite him to the launching of his campaign. Obama said specifically that he hadn't heard the GD America comment, or the AIDS comment. So both of his statements are true. They do not contradict each other at all. Do you understand that?

Phylo out.

phylo....
Why do you keep embarassing yourself?
Go read the US Constitution....the part about where citizens have the right to appeal & petition the Gov't.
Of course, if the dems hadn't created a huge socialist state, with its tentacles probing every aspect of daily life, whose purpose is to CONTROL the population (and the goal of expanding the power of the dem party, irregardless of the effect on the country or its citizens) then lobbyists wouldn't be that much of a problem...would it?
"Shouting down the Will of the People"??? You mean people that have the AUDACITY to actually keep SOME of the money they earn? The people who think that racial discrimination is wrong, but where you dems WANT discrimination because the ones who suffer from Gov't-enforced racism are White? What about the people who could be paying $2 a gal for gas, but the dem-morons in the Senate in 1996 PREVENTED the opening up of ANWR...seeing how it'll take 10 yrs to go from initial drilling to daily production--but NOOOOOOOO, they had to defend a desolate wasteland, and INSURE that America is dependent on Foreign Oil?
Obama is not only an empty-suit, he is a racist who has only cliches & homilies fall from his mouth. I don't know which is worse...his blatant racism (which is someone invisible to his supporters) or the bigoted, fact-adverse people who champion him.

Like you phylo.

d'souza
Yep, you are right. No matter how you slice it, analyze it, inspect it , right it up, or how you look at it, this antion is dooooomed! Atleast for the next 4 years!!!!!!!!!

such is the sad state of our Republic.
I find myself agreeing in part with our resident Townhall "moderate", Boutte.

G.W. Bush's total incompetence on Iraq has demonstrated to all that experience in foreign affairs is no guarantee that dogma and ignorance won't triumph over rationality and judgment(Cheney largely does the thinking for Bush..such as it is..on Iraq).

And Cheney has had loads of experience in prior administrations, as secretary of defense and chief of staff to the president, as well as being a six term congressman.

Bush and Cheney's swigging on the slop in the neocon trough has brought our Republic to such a deplorable state that otherwise rational individuals would contemplate placing the future of our Beloved Republic in the hands of a charismatic "empty suit", who for twenty years could not bring himself to disavow an association with a racist demagogue steeped in black liberation theology.

The media continues to claim Wright has done little or no damage to Obama.

And, friends, that is FALSE. Wright may have little effect on the Democratic nomination, but he will a have great effect in the general election..if Obama is the nominee(I am not a Hillary fan, for the record).

Americans do not view their nation as hopelessly racist. Americans actually love their nation.

Imagine that.

Phyllo
You make me LOL! Obama won't take money from special interests or lobbyists? What do you know about Tony Rezko, Syrian "fixer" under indictment in Chicago for bribery charges? Nothing apparently.

Seems he paid more than full price for an empty lot so that Obama could buy the adjacent house and lot for less than he paid for the vacant lot! Both lots were enclosed by a wrought-iron fence so that Rezko's propety could only be accessed from Obama's. No attempt to buy influence from the newly elected state senator, no, Rezko is just generous. He also contributed about $250,000 to Obama's campaigns, which Obama originally denied was that much.

Obama is as grasping and power-hungry as the worst of politicians and is a liar besides being mentored by a raving racist and Muslim lover.

If he and the Democrats win this fall, we will be on the greased skids to socialism and worse. Just so we can get universally poor health care like Canada and England.

Wouldn't it be safer and cheaper to just work hard and buy your own health insurance and pay for what it doesn't like my husband and I had to do for decades?

Ten Truths About This Column
1. Obama's connection to Wright will matter little to Democrat voters come November. They will be pulling the big D lever anyway.

2. McCain may be "conservative on the things that matter" to D'Souza, but that hardly amounts to much for the majority of conservatives, D'Souza's own conservatism being an open question.

3. McCain also faces Romney's problem of not having the conservative base behind him, but unlike Romney, he also has a history of working against the interests of that base.

4. D'Souza confuses his ability to see a possibility, in this case an ad, as being able to see 'the truth". Perhaps this explains his idiotic claims to have proven the existence of God.

5. Being sure of something in your own feeble mind does not make it a fact.

6. As shown by the fact that D'Souza immediately backpedals away from it. If it is a "truth" that the superdelegates will not give Hillary the nomination, then there would have been no need for "truth" numbers 6-8.

7. Hypothesizing about what Hillary Clinton might do in a given situation is a game for the social salon. See 5 above.

8. Backpedaling away from your previous "truths" does nothing to convince people you have a clue. See 6 above.

9. D'Souza has no idea what he is talking about here.

10. Apparently our self-appointed atheist basher has finally realized how boring he is when he keep whining about his little debate and has tried moving on to politics. Sadly, he's even worse at politics than he is at religion.

Pancho Villa
Pancho:
Oh, panchito, I forgot to add all the billions of dollars a year we spend on illegal immigrants for their primary care-in the ER, and all the disproportionatley high crime rates they contribute to. Thanks for reminding me. You deny that crack is a huge problem in the black community and many people hooked on it would rather smoke it than buy food for their kids? Get an education and stop relying on affirmative action to get by, Pancho.

Absolutely Wright
Obama is toast in the general elction. America will reject him because of his 23 year membership in the "Klan With A Tan".

Obama will be the nominee because the Democrats have been sucking up to the black, anti-white racists for so long that they can do nothing else. Democrats hope to keep this anti-white coalition together, but it is quickly unraveling.

Hillary knows this but she can't stand up and declare these racists to be persona non grata, as Bill did with Sister Soldja. However she will be able to say I told you so in 4 years. Its in her best interest for Obama to get clobbered and her supporters know it.

Hillaries supporters are the more moderate Democrats and they really don't like Obama's extreme leftism. One in four will vote for McCain.

The Dems palying the race card days are over. The Wright wing are the real racists in America.

Here Ya go Phylo
"Rowley, don't let Sean Hannity be your sole source of news and information. Sooner or later you'll end up sounding very foolish. I'm guessing you bought into the "Obama is Muslim" nonsense too. Right?

Ask yourself this Rowley: Dr. Wright has given thousands of hours of sermons. If the clips we have seen are typical of his sermons, than there should be thousands of examples of him saying these types of things. Or at least there should be hundreds of examples, right? But all we've seen are these one or two clips that just happened to be recorded in the hot emotional afterglow of 9/11. So is it possible, indeed

probable, that these comments are something of an aberration?"

And another example:

"I support Obama because I've done the research."

There ya go chimp.

No Pass

Reference the arguments defending Sen. Obama’s relationship with Rev. Wright. They all seem to echo a similar theme, by accepting the senator’s rationales outlined in his eloquent speech. “Had I known…” and “I don’t ascribe to everything the pastor says…” Additionally, his supporters in this thread keep saying, “Come on…let’s move on…it’s over. Back to the issues.” It makes the hair on the back of my neck standup.

I heard the speech and came away with: Are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?

Two things:

1) Judgment is an issue.

2) I keep hearing that these were just “words”, “comments…a five second sound bite”. Sen. Obama and every living soul on these boards know that these were not just derogatory comments. This was a man exposing and teaching hate on level that I have seldom witnessed.

I don’t think the senator’s a bad guy. But by choosing to stay with this preacher for 20 years, he has displayed a monumental lapse in judgment. And the window of opportunity to admit that has passed.

To frenchy Fiser
Phylo Se Fiser:
are you crazy-"And it's not his policy positions that attract me to his candidacy, it's his character." character??!! This guy has character? He lies first to the American public "I wasn't in church" and then says he was in church but he didn't hear any incendiary remarks, blah blah-I can go on pointing out the blaringly obvious to you self-deceiving liberals but this is beginning to bore me. Also it's comforting to know his policy positions (far left, socialist, redistributionist, fantasyland) don't concern you or "attract" you. I guess it would be hard to find someone who would say right to your face "I will increase taxes on the rich and businesses" which really means trickle down/pass on to the middle class. Great idea in a weak economy! Do you live in chicago? I'll tell you why he "community organized" whatever that means, which is the same reason he joined the all black liberation theology church: to familiarize and endear himself to the black population on the South side, without which the Hawaiian-raised, priveledged 1/2 black man would never had street credibility to get anywhere in politics in Chicago. Either don't be so naive or disingenuous-obamagiacian is a smooth talking hack who's got mostly young people (who've never paid taxes), blacks (who see handouts down the road), and rich "guilty" whites (who'd rather commit suicide than be labeled "typical white person")in love with him, but unfortunatley for you, these groups do not make up the majority of Americans. Oh, I forgot hollwood actors: the cream of the hypocritical crop...so it's no surprise that you would call someone with such weak character (night)someone who has good "character" (day).

Obama
I think Dinesh is mostly correct, but McCain fired a campaign worker who put out his own ad on You Tube interspersing Obama with Wright.

McCain won't attack Obama for his connection to this blatant racist Wright because that wouldn't be politically correct.

If McCain were smart he would emphasize that he did reach out to the other side (hold your noses here, my conservative fellows!) on many issues -- voting for bills that conservatives hated while Obama says he's a uniter, but has always voted only with Democrats or "present" if it might have caused him political trouble.

I fear that McCain will run an inept campaign and lose.

Makes No Sense
The author states that Obama is unelectable in the general election, but, then speculates about him winning the election. Huh?

Nailed it!
Nice piece. Maybe not 100% but pretty darn close.

If Hillary were in 1st place right now everything you said would be out the window.

I may add number 11: McCain's selection of Veep will make or break 1 through 10. Don't blow it. McCain will be a one-termer (due to age & health) and many conservatives are waiting for the name.

Why Obama will win
One reason why Obama will be the next president of the United States is that Obama does not take money from lobbyists or special interests, and he has plans to make government more transparent and accountable. Americans know that lobbyists and special interests are what is corrupting our government and shouting down the voice of the people.

McCain, on the other hand, is very closely tied to lobbyists, lobbyists with some shady ties:

Hawk
I support Obama because I've done the research. I've read his books and his speeches. And it's not his policy positions that attract me to his candidacy, it's his character. He's the kind of man who assumes the best about people and takes them at their word, unless he is given good reason to do otherwise. Also, after graduating number one from Harvard Law, he could have had just about any job he wanted. He chose a job that paid $10,000 a year doing community organizing in Chicago's South side. That tells me the man's heart is in the right place. I'm also impressed by his extraordinary intelligence and eloquence. We haven't had a man who communicates this well in American politics in decades. Also, he has an uncanny ability to predict how certain policies will work out. Go read his anti-war speech that he gave before the invasion. Almost everything he predicted turned out to be right. That's more than can be said about ANY Republican. Bush has actually demonstrated a remarkable ability to get almost everything wrong. Yet a majority of Republicans still support him!? Unbelievable. Remember when he said he saw Putin's soul? What a joke of a president. the guy didn't even know there was a difference between Sunnis and Shiites before the war. He just figured they were all Iraqistanis. who want freedom. Doh!

Come on, be honest Hawk, it'd be nice to have a president who is actually a leader, wouldn't it?

And yo momma
>nevermind the fact that we've been throwing countless trillions at them since the 1960's and so far all they've managed to do is buy lots of crack<

You meant to add your white trash family into that equation I'm sure, so allow me to do it for you.

B Milhouse O'Bama-RIP
It is VERY amusing to see the 'libs' here proclaim that the "Rev" Wrights comments won't affect Obama, even citing polls as 'evidence'of this...are you forgetting the Wilder Effect? You 'libs' are so disconnected from Reality...the WHOLE POINT of Obama's campaign is that he is a "post-racial" candidate...and his own book, as well as his spiritual mentor, both spew racial hatred. Are you people so self deluding...well, you ARE 'liberals' after all, and things like Facts & Truth make no dent in that mass of Hatred & Rage that is the hallmark of 'libs' today. You hate America, you hate white people, you hate capitialism, you even hate the armed forces of this country who PROTECT YOU!!!! What should have been the dems year, & their own hypocrisy about race, gender & patriotism have cut them off at the knees. So you 'libs' who post here....keep right on with your delusions.....and let us grown-ups clean up the decades long mess you morons have created.

Phylo Se Fiser-aka Frenchy
Phylo Se Fiser: acually, it just came to me-you remind me of Tokyo Rose with all your arbitrary gushings about Obama and your fierce loyaloty to this political hack from chicago-go hump his leg already! Are you just rooting for him because you know he will push for slavery reparations and finally, the blacks will be uplifted out of poverty and ignorance ? (nevermind the fact that we've been throwing countless trillions at them since the 1960's and so far all they've managed to do is buy lots of crack and keep calling those who throw money at them racist).

Reagan
Reagan ran on shrinking government, Junking the Dept of education, taking power away from the fed and won the Cold war.
Bush doubled the size of dept of education, now they wage war on homeschoolers.
Bush has the government's largerst expansion of power in recent history.
Bush can not find Osama. Osama has turned western Pakistan in to the new Alqueda. Somthing even Clinton could not do. We invaded a third world soveirgn nation that was with our a true military presence. We did not have congressional approval of war, a violation of the constitution.
Bush is now doubling the power the of the Fed. I guess he figured it worked so well for government and education try it with the bankers.
If Bush does not respect the constitution and he is "more conservative than McCain". Then I will make my voice heard.

Write in "Constitution" on November's Ballot.

Bubba
>The Iraq government is now strong enough and has enough troops and police to demand
Al-Sadr disarm.<

So, if your government asked you to disarm, you would gladly comply?

The Sadrists were one of the most oppressed people under Saddam's regime. In many of their communities they are the police. Since the Sadrists are the Iraqi people, I submit it is you who could care less about them.

Phylo Se Fiser-you're French, right?
Phylo Se Fiser:
hey loser, this just proves that America has ADD. When October roles around and all those juicy soundbites reemerge, the "approval ratings" of Obama will reverse. By the way, there is time aplenty to see how inexperienced, naive, and lacking in judgment obama is by then. Wright may not even be needed. By the way, are you black or just a guilty white guy, because hell, you act as if obama is the second coming. Please tell me, in your own words, what obama has done truly good for this country and also ebnumerate his many accomplishmnets in foreign and domestic policy.

Care to list my "uninformed opinion", chump?

Rowley
Rowley, don't let Sean Hannity be your sole source of news and information.

So is it possible, indeed probable, that these comments are something of an aberration?

Remember Falwell and Robertson also blamed America for 9/11.

Your conspiracy theories are amusing, but you have to wonder why he has been endorsed and supported by so many seasoned and well-respected politicians if any of that was even close to true. Don't you think?

It's fine to listen to these right wing gas bags for entertainment, but please seek out other sources for your news. Dare to think for yourself Rowley.

Phylo out.

To my dear ignorant Bryce
bryce:
I'm so sick of you liberals sitting there like the village cryer (or idiot) with doomsday scenarios spilling from your mouth. I see, the liberals (and media-same diff) have been sitting there for months as progress in Iraq is manifest, not saying a word-no encouragement, no stoking hopeful feelings that success might be realized there, but when there is "CIVIL WAR!" on the horizon, boo hoo, the republicans and conservatives are creating disaster - no, the disaster is a creation of all the PC types in this country who think it's more important to give known terrorists constitutional rights and let free flow occur across the border than to try and prevent nuclear terrorism here, for example. News flash-the shiit militia is directed by muqtada al sadr who has called for his fighters to lay down their arms; that's ashamed because the "CIVIL WAR!" you are hopeful to see may not happen...

Phylo
You are obviously making very uninformed opinion on a daily basis.

Need more koolaid?

Trolls and Loons
The Iraq government is now strong enough and has enough troops and police to demand
Al-Sadr disarm. That, friends, is not Civil War, that is enforcing law.

I said in a post yesterday, Iraq needs to arrest him. If he is guilty of murder, try and execute him. Otherwise exile him.

The government has to some strength and control. Dealing with al-Sadr is the way to get them message across.

The trolls and loons are ecstatic that "civil war" is breaking out. I can just hear them supporting our troops. If it were real civil war they would be so happy.

They could care less about the Iraqi people or our troops.

I note this morning the MSM is no longer reporting on al-Sadr since he told his people to give up. But, they are reporting on an attack on the Green Zone like it is evidence that the surge is a total failure. Spin, Spin, Spin.

Barack Hussein Obama...RIP?
The rantings of Wright is ugly enough and would gag a maggot if one would listen to them enough. The mainstream media is making sure you don't,unless you care enough to look for them. There is a blackout on them by the press.

As bad as the rantings are, they are obscuring the really dangerous side of the sainted,Barack Hussein Obama. He had ties to terrorists Mousa Abu Margook ,Ayers, and of course the old American hater,Louis Farrakhan.Also,Rezco.What does Obama have in common with them?

Why is this not a problem? Who was Obama meeting and consorting with off shore last week? Was anyone watching? If Hillary doesn't start hitting him hard,I will start thinking she is serious about sharing the ticket with him.

Hillary has enough baggage to sink anyone else except a Democrat, but we know most of her dirty past.If she is the moninee, blacks will vote for her.She has promised everything. Obama has not been vetted.Someone is failing in their job.

Come this fall
Obama's pastor will be long forgotten come this fall, when the economy and Iraq will be the issues that most people will be focused on.

Ironically, Iraq will be a positive for Obama and a negative for McCain and the economy will be a positive for McCain and and a negative for Obama.

Balack Hussein Obomba
No wonder he is a man of change. He IS a changeling, a veritable chameleon, adapting and amending his life story to fit the circumstances.

The charm may have worked once. It still works on some. It won't work forever in the age of the Internet. The fog of ambiguity and dissimulation is dissipated by the harsh, unforgiving and scrutiny of the blogosphere and its unlimited access to historical facts and time-stamped testimony.

Many have been puzzled why Obama could claim not to be familiar with Wright's rants. It turns out the Trinity Church, like many African-American churches, happily accepts believing Muslims within its congregation. And evidently many Muslims have no problems surrounding themselves with an anti-American, anti-Israel preacher who week in and week out wins the amens of his adoring congregation.

Thanks Alot !!!
The idea & image of Hillary 'seducing' the super-delegates or anyone else for that matter has reminded me of what I had for breakfast in a bad way!

W/O=

You're Wrong
"At this point, it seems the only way Hillary can win the Democratic nomination is by cajoling, threatening and seducing the super-delegates. It’s hard to see any other scenario in which Hillary could emerge as the nominee. "

Isn't it wonderful that you see it as OK to use these scorched earth politics to win the nomination. Hillary Clinotn is a tainted and dishonest poitician who has no right or busines being anywhere near the White House. I completely disgree with your scenario>>>>>

Dinesh Doesn't Dare
Dinesh asserts that "1. Obama's connection with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright makes him unelectable in the general election,"

On what basis does he make that statement? He must only talk to the people here that agree with him because the polls taken since the revelations haven't really changed much. The 28% dead-enders who still support GwB will think unfavorably of any Democratic candidate.

50% of the articles written here since early March have been about BhO; are the writers here so unimaginative?

If McCain is going to focus his ads on BhO's connection to Wright, he better step up the fund raising. He's raised $60 million, BhO has raised $200 million.

Wow!
Seriously, is it possible to be more out of touch with the current political scene the Dinesh D'Souza? Not since he wrote a book claiming that we need to be more religious in order to appease the terrorists has he been so wildly off base.

In case you haven't heard DD, Obama is up by 10 in the latest Gallup poll. Seems people are sensible enough to realize a) that those comments by Dr. Wright are not typical of him or his church, and b) that Obama clearly doesn't share those views. they also think he rose above the controversy and demonstrated outstanding leadership by making that landmark speech on race.

I'm saving this column for posterity. What a joke. Seriously, can I get payed to make ill-informed opinions too? Where does one go to get such a job? Oh that's right, the GOP or the American Enterprise Institute, or The Hoover Institute, or the Heritage Foundation. But I hear you have to promise them your soul in return.

Phylo out.

MDoggg is a moron

The pastor has "retired" and Marx is dead and no longer writes books, so I guess we can all just move on!

Besides Nanny Obama will fix everything.

Remember Osama loves Obama and Obama loves you and the New Black Panther Party. Life will be good in Nirvana.

RIP RNC
The RNC has successfully commited suicide. Actually, it is likely run by the CFR anyway along with the demorat party. Bush, Rove at least pretended to be conservatives for a while where McCain doesn't even put on that front. Even has trouble refering to himself as a conservative. Now the lackies of the party tell us how good we have got it with McCain for a candidate. Oh, Barack Hussein Obama has got his lead back after the whacko preacher outing of two weeks ago. So the sheeple are behaving as expected.

Wimpy wimpy wimpy

The Republicans could beat Obama if they were not so wimpy. They are not street fighters and the first time the NY Times picks on them they will run for the Country Club.

Election truths
D'Souza is exactly correct.
Each candidate has deep flaws, but at the end of the day when you sort out all the policy disagreements and likeabilty factors voters are left with three universal truths about these three.
McCain loathes conservatives as the moderate candidate
Obama disdains Whites as the Black Muslim candidate
Hillary disdains men as the womens' candidate.
As a traditional white male conservative I find it hard to vote for McCain, and impossible to vote for Hillary or Obama. I may not be happy with McCain part of the time but I'd never expect to be happy with anti white and anti male Democrat candidates.

Barack's & Hillary's Ideological Roots
Most of these points are well taken and well argued. However, Barack Obama's problems with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright are just BEGINNING. With the issues of "race" and "racialism" still riding high, the issues of ideology and of religion per se are standing by to stir the "Hate the "Hate GD America" pot even further:

First, to discover both Barack's and Hillary's deepest ideological roots, simply Google Search each of their names with those of the Marxists SAUL ALINSKY and ANTONIO GRAMSCI -- and their infamous "March Through The Institutions" method for gaining control over one and all ("one" meaning you and me and "all" meaning everyone and every thing else, as well).

Second, to better understand the true nature of Rev. Wright's "Black Liberation Theology," we need only recall the fact that in the mid-1980s the late, great Pope John Paul II formally declared the Marxist-Leninist and Castroite scam of so-called "Liberation Theology" (Black or otherwise) to be a HERESY -- stating in part that "there can be no true liberation if, from the beginning, the rights of Liberty are not respected."

And, of course, the principal repressors of such Rights of Liberty in Latin America just happen to be Rev. Wright's (and Barack's and Hillary's)wonderfully "Progressive" friends -- Fidel and Raul Castro, Daniel Ortega, Hugo Chavez and the late Ernesto "Che" Guevara.

Hillary and BHO
fratricide - in what should be a walk away year for the DNC it is fascinating to see them bleed out like this. Ought to be fun seeing what new derangements the liberals will have should they loose again. Who will they blame? Will Howard Dean blame those opportunistic Republicans for stealing the election? Will Daily Kooks blame those evil neocons again? Israel? Rush Limbaugh?

I mostly agree, but
-- I would never say that Obama is unelectable - even if his pastor hurts him. As the Democratic nominee he will come close enough that good presentation and press, stellar debate performance against McCain, or the war going really badly will flip enough swing states to give it to Obama. And don't think for a minute that Iran won't orchestrate a "tet offensive" around election time to make the war go really really badly. Sadr's little uprising was probably a dry run for October.

-- I don't think the superdelegates will be as loath to make up their own minds as you think. But if they deny Obama the nomination, it becomes more likely that they will give it to Gore and let Obama become VP. They are already talking about giving it to Gore more every day.

-- I am sure Obama knows full well that with Hillary as his VP he will soon be meeting Ron Brown in the hereafter. He would never accept her unless the superdelegates forced him to.

D"Souza
Finally, at your 10th reason, the true nature of the Clintons came out. They will stop at nothing to win. I think she would become his vice presidential running mate to more easily accomplish her aims if she does not win the nomination.

No longer a Republican Smithington
NLARS proclaims: "Dinesh D'Souza is a neocon idiot..."

Do you actually know what a neocon is, or did you use the term because you think it's cool?

Obama has 2 strikes against him......
Not only is J.Wright a problem for Obama, but his wife is also. She's the female, not in the pulpet, version of J.Wright.

Obama may be a smooth talker and have some people all gaa-gaa, but he's surrounded by whitey-hating radicals. In November, BUYER BEWARE.

Obama and Black Nationalism
Obama is the product of genetic Black Nationalism. In making Obama the nominess the Democrats are endorsing Black Nationalism with its thesis of Black Theology that is anti-white and holds that Christ is served by resorting to violence to put in place the Black agenda!

Obama who preaches unison does in fact endorses division as evidenced by his support of Pastor Wright. He is articulate and proves the truth that there is nothing more dangerous in nature that a brilliant mind with bad ideas. What are those bad ideas? Surrendering in Iraq, raising taxes and embracing the homosexual agenda. Democrats can thank Howard Dean for this travesty.

D'Souza is mostly correct.
His was a thoughtful analysis, which is puzzling, for I find myself disagreeing with him at times.

I especially agree that Obama will find the Wright connection has fatally damaged his chances of winning the presidency.

He may get the Democratic nomination. But many white independents will not forget the vicious anti-American comments of Wright.

I also believe McCain probably was, and is, the strongest GOP candidate.

I despise this reckless, half-baked, grotesque, neo-Wilsonian scheme of the neocons to thrust democracy onto the mideast, ABSENT a culture of tolerance in the Muslim world.

And I worry McCain may swig on the same toxic neocon brew that undid G.W.; but, McCain is more of a realist than Bush. No one doubts that, at least not on foreign affairs. He has said America cannot "go it alone" on foreign affairs. He believes in consulting with our allies.

If Iraq does not deteriorate between now and November, and the economy does not worsen, McCain wins in November, even tho a tidal wave will make congress much more Democratic.

Independents will win it for McCain. Even tho they, like most Americans, now think Iraq was not worth the cost, the surge has provided enough political cover for McCain to argue we cannot abandon Iraq prematurely.

And they differentiate Iraq from the threat of Muslim extremists to our homeland.

Hillary isn't someone I want to vote for
Where's the 'choice' if it's Hillary vs McCain? At least Obama is somewhat of a choice. Wright isn't the one running for President. I would hate to be judged by the words spoken by another person even if it were my Reverend or a mentor. Obama could have shown better judgement in his choice of churches. Bush could have shown better judgement in avoiding getting into a war before planning on his exit strategy, if we're going to be talking poor judgement. Doesn't make him a bad President otherwise. Obama might make a pretty good President, but even if he didn't I don't feel it's right to diss him over the words spoken by his ranting Reverend. (word to future candidates: Choose churches more carefully!)

Ten Truths ...
Your points are all well taken. I am most disturbed by the deep fear within the Democratic party of offending Black Americans. I can't believe they seriously think that Blacks will stay home or go Republican in droves (or riot in the s treets) over that. The Democratic party needs FIRST and FOREMOST to select a November winner, not cater to a loyal constituency that will assure defeat in the general election.
Obama will have more chances, but thanks to his misplaced loyalty to his spriritual mentor, he is now damaged goods, and will be savagely defeated by McCain if he gains the nomination, no matter who he picks as a running mate.
Hillary ought to call him out as strongly as the McCain people will when September gets here...that might be one way of triggering her nomination miracle. If she soft pedals him now (like the rest of the world had been doing), she will be watching this campaign from home in the fall, because Senator O will get the party nod, and she will not be on his ticket. I think a Clinton/Obama ticket would be workable, but he will never go for it....he can't stand either of them (the Clintons) and he would be locked in mortal combat with Bill over everything. Even though that would pave the way for his eventual time in the oval office, for certain.
I am for Hillary, and I am not for Obama. I am so against voting for this man that I may have to vote Republican for the first time in my life if he is the Democrats' nominee...He is dangerous for this country, and his nomination guarantees a McCain victory -- that's a BIG truth the Democratic Party has yet to wake up to...if they don't soon, they'll surely wake up to defeat in November.

Condi Rice supports Obama’s Race Speech?

WT-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said yesterday that the United States still has trouble dealing with race because of a national “birth defect” that denied black Americans the opportunities given to whites at the country’s very founding.

“Black Americans were a founding population,” she said. “Africans and Europeans came here and founded this country together — Europeans by choice and Africans in chains. That’s not a very pretty reality of our founding.”

As a result, Miss Rice told editors and reporters at The Washington Times, “descendants of slaves did not get much of a head start, and I think you continue to see some of the effects of that.”

“That particular birth defect makes it hard for us to confront it, hard for us to talk about it, and hard for us to realize that it has continuing relevance for who we are today,” she said.

Miss Rice declined to comment on the campaign, saying only that it was “important” that Mr. Obama “gave it for a whole host of reasons.”

But she spoke forcefully on the subject, citing personal and family experience to illustrate “a paradox and contradiction in this country,” which “we still haven’t resolved.”

On the one hand, she said, race in the U.S. “continues to have effects” on public discussions and “the deepest thoughts that people hold.” On the other, “enormous progress” has been made, which allowed her to become the nation’s chief diplomat.

Interesting insight, Mr. D'Souza
that the constituency most enabling of the Democrat party might use intimidation tactics to threaten the superdelegates who are so committed to political correctness that they will fall in line.

Can't help but see a parallel in Islamic tactics via the West.

We're headed for "interesting" times, no doubt about that.

Religious Discrimination
I could hardly believe that more of the Republicans didn't vote for Romney, mostly because of his religion. They had better wake up and start thinking of who will do the best for our country. Obama can out talk McCain any day, even if he said something that didn't make any sense. He has people mesmerized. In McCain, they see an old man that doesn't even know what he is talking about unless he can read it and he isn't even good at reading it. Is he going to have a teleprompter with him every where he goes?
McCain deserves a lot of respect for his service to our country, but if he really loves this country, he will let a younger, more alert person be the President. He should have campaigned twenty years ago.
I don't know much about the Mormon religion, but if Mitt Romney is an example of what they believe, it must not be that bad. I haven't heard one immoral thing written about him. If he can put his knowledge on how to run a business into getting our economy in better condition, he would be the man that we need. Even if he was Vice President, he can't be around all the time to make sure McCain didn't mess up and say the wrong thing. This is a stressful job and I hate to see what it will do to a man McCain's age.
I am sure that Romney will not please everyone with his decisions, not even me, but I have listened to all of the candidates and he will be the best for our country.

Glad you're sticking with this folks
7 months of conservatives fixating on Wright while the economy falters and Iraq descends into civil war will look petty and a bit desperate.

The past week's events have changed everything. This fall McCain will be defending our taking sides in a civil war, one which however it ends will benefit the Iranians. Hardly a winning strategy.

I disagree
McCain is not the strongest, but the 2nd worst candidate. (Huck beats McCain for the worst.) He is having trouble raising money because conservatives are wary of him for reasons well-known. Moderates and independents are his strongest supporters, not rank and file voters, and they cannot be counted on in the general.

Romney had the strongest support from real republican voters and if he were the nominee right now the base would be excited and willing to donate and to help get out the vote in Nov. I'm tired of the arugment that his Mormonism is a factor. Certainly for a few, but Romney overcame most of the opposition. In the general against a dem he would shine particularly bright because he is the most intelligent, talented and qualified, and was running on the platform that wins - fiscal, social and national security conservatism - and he had the record to back it up.

We have the wrong guy, but he is still better than the alternative of Obama or Hillary.

Thoughts about Obama and McCain

1. I would generally agree about Obama due to recent revelations about Rev. Wright. Yet Rev. Wright’s vitriolic sermons were available on the church’s website since four years ago. Why weren’t these brought to light earlier? Many citizens still see Obama as iconic—a black man, an educated black man with a smooth voice. They don’t understand this basic fact: Right color, wrong values. What’s even worse is how many black pastors are vouching for him. Yet I’d guess these are liberal black pastors, not those wholly committed to Christ.

I’d guess Christian conservatives have been in Obama’s camp for so long because they think he’s “a committed Christian” because he told them so and he uses Christian buzz words. They don’t understand how he lacks belief in major points about salvation and disputes Jesus’ words in John 14:6. While Obama lacks understanding due to Rev. Wright’s focus off the basics of Christianity and onto Black Liberation Theology, Obama still should take responsibility for his lack of understanding after 20 years in Rev. Wright’s church.

2. John McCain looks older than he is due to wartime injuries as a POW. What’s amazing to me is that he functions as well as he does and that he’s in shape given the difficulties of having been lifted off the ground with his hands pulled behind his head and left to dangle for hours on end. Not to mention all the other torture he suffered.

I want a leader who fully understands the threat of Islamic terrorism to our country and the world. Not someone like Bill Clinton who continually tries to negotiate while leaders of foreign nations say something different in Arabic to their own people. Not someone like Barack Obama whose own pastor published reports from Palestinians and Hamas as part of his pastor’s report.

Obama is toast
whether he realizes it or not. If the nominee, he will be unelectable due to his judgment, lack of, in sitting in a church for 20 years with a preacher who spewed vile hatred, anti American, and accusing the government of giving them AIDS.

Whether anyone realizes it or not, this will never go down with the average, moderate, American.

Race issue now insignicant
Events of the last week have clearing demonstrated that our involvement in Iraq amounts to taking sides in a civil war, and taking the side with the strongest Iranian connection. Obama's association with Wright becomes a silly distraction in light of McCain's support of the Iranian funded civil war in Iraq.

I
dunno about that, Sharpton warned there could be trouble. I don't know how old you are but I remember the riots in the 60's. The '68 DemonRat
Convention shocked the nation. If it's true
Wright is just one of many black preachers sermonizing racial hatred, then there could be trouble. Time will tell.

#10 is Dinesh hinting that something nefarious and sinister may happen to Obama? Where ever did he get that idea? Why Norman Bates wouldn't even hurt a fly.

It'll be another Harper's Ferry debacle
I just have one concern about the Theory that black voters will not take it lying down if Hillary somehow wrests the nomination from Obama.

Remember John Brown at Harper's Ferry? He ended up swinging from the gallows after making the mistake of assuming that the black community would rise up if given the opportunity and weapons.

I firmly believe that the black voters who have voted for every Democrat put before them will not even hesitate to vote for Mrs. Clinton if she is the Democrat nominee. It is absurd to pin hopes on them rising up in anger at their guy getting robbed of his rightful nomination. They will not.

Just remember John Brown and Harper's Ferry.

11th Truth about the election
McCain will no longer be running on his support of the WOT in Iraq, he will be running on his support of the CIVIL WAR in Iraq. A hard sell even in the best of times, fatal during ones as uncertain as these.

The 1 truth about Dinesh D"Souza
Dinesh D'Souza is a neocon idiot who has worked hard to ruin the Republican Party and who constantly puts his own ego before rational common sense in order to deny to himself that he has helped ruin the Republican Party.

Hence, the 10 idiotic "truths" he has listed -- none of which are accurate.
