A Crisis That Obama Won't Waste

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

This economic crisis is too useful for Obama to want it to end. When Rahm Emanuel -- and later Hillary Clinton -- spoke of never letting a good crisis "go to waste," many people were shocked. But now Obama seems to embody the corollary: that the crisis should continue until he has thoroughly milked it to reshape American politics, society and the economy.

As with Faust, it seems that this "given moment ... he wishes to endure forever." Unlike Faust, however, he will not lose his "life and soul" to such a wish. He'll sacrifice ours, instead.

First came the "stimulus package." With only about $185 billion of its $800 billion in spending to be disbursed in 2009, Obama clearly never intended the money to be about stimulus but wanted the need for a stimulus to trigger the spending he wanted anyway.

Then came the TARP funding, often forced down banks' throats. Now comes word that even as banks want to return the money, the Treasury is making them keep it. One source at a TARP bank reports that Geithner is insisting that banks go through their "stress test" before refunding the TARP money. As Stuart Varney speculates in The Wall Street Journal, Obama wants the banks to keep the money so he can enforce his regulations on them.

Now comes Geithner's plea for extra regulatory powers and Obama's concession to global economic regulation at the G-20 summit. Both moves are game changers for any major American business. Geithner wants the power to take over any business -- presumably in any field -- whose failure would imperil the national economy. Today it's banks, brokerage houses, car companies and insurance firms. Tomorrow? Who knows?

And Obama agreed to agree on international "high standards" for the regulation of all "systemically important" companies to be promulgated by the new global Financial Stability Board (FSB). The United States, occupying one of 20 chairs on the FSB board (21 if we count the European Union), will come to a consensus with other central bankers from the G-20 nations on what these regulations should say. Then the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Reserve and the other regulatory arms of the U.S. government will impose them on our economy.

(Some have objected that Congress needs to be consulted -- but as long as the agreements are "voluntary" and the U.S. agencies are merely "asked" to impose the regulations, no further grant of congressional authority is needed. But, of course, there will be nothing voluntary about the administration's demand that the agencies implement the coming FSB directives, no matter how intrusive they may be.)

And, finally, there is Obama's delegation of a total overhaul of the tax code to a commission headed by Paul Volker with a mandate to report back in December of this year.

So with the tax code totally changing, Europe about to formulate regulations for our economy, the U.S. government empowered to take over any large company, the deficit and spending reaching unbelievable levels and the feds insisting on continued control of banks, what businessman in his right mind is going to invest in anything? How could even the most foolish optimist pull the trigger on a business investment without knowing the tax consequences, the regulatory framework and the policy of the banks on lending?

But Obama knows all this. He knows that his steps will delay economic recovery. But he wants these changes not as means to an end, but as the end itself. And he is determined to get them passed and set in stone while the rubric of "crisis" justifies his doing so.

He is not unlike a leader who takes his country into war, knowing that by "wagging the dog" he can reinforce his power.

But ultimately, does Obama care if he is re-elected? Doesn't he know that he needs a good economy to extend his mandate to eight years? Yes, of course he does. But he probably figures that he can turn the economy around as Election Day 2012 draws nearer and reap all the credit then. In the meantime, no good crisis should ever go to waste.

"Order out of Chaos"

"All the world's a stage..." ~ Shakespeare

STAGED EVENTS
also know as
ORDER OUT OF CHAOS
from the Latin
ORDO AB CHAO

Create a problem, then use the power of law to make the changes you want.

Exactly what the Democrat Congress have done, working with the Federal Reserve Banking Corporation.

The very people who created this financial disaster are now claiming they have the plan to fix it all.

Obama liked the Bush massive debt so much, he has tripled it, probably more than tripled it.

Its just too insane to be able to know the depth and truth of the coming chaos.

But one thing you can be assured of, it was created by intent and is not an accident

Do not dispair, more folks are paying
attention to politics than ever before. Their pockets are not so deep now and blaming Bush will only last a year or so.

The man is the best Presidential Speaker since Regan and as smart as Clinton, who used mostly Republican ideas.

We will all know when he crashes.

Opium For Opportunists - I
In an Op-Ed piece in The New York Times (October 16, 1998), Gerald Celente predicted that government intervention to rescue "private corporations deemed ‘too big to fail’," would result in the demise of free-market capitalism.

Back then he called it "Capitalism for Cowards."

Today it’s called stimulus programs and rescue packages.

Back then, Celente warned the bailouts wouldn’t work.

Today, Celente repeats the warning … they still won’t work.

Back then, the government warned that if Long Term Capital Management, a hedge fund, was not rescued, the global financial markets would implode.

Today, with the markets imploding, the government warns that if favored banks, brokerages, leverage buyout firms, insurance companies, etc. are not rescued, the global economy will collapse.

Opium For Opportunists - II
Back then, Gerald Celente accurately forecast, "The global contagion may be temporarily suppressed by doses of monetary amoxicillin, but when an outbreak recurs, it will be in a bailout-resistant and far more virulent strain."

The global contagion was suppressed, the outbreak has recurred, and the more virulent strain is upon us. And, as Celente predicted, it is proving bailout resistant.

Today, Celente forecasts that no amount of monetary amoxicillin can cure the spreading virus.

Strangely, few other than Bernie Maroff and Ken Lay have/had their wealth devastated while your share of the burden grows. One might argue that we should allow the Federal Reserve, which is no nore "Federal" than is Federal Express, to just print more money, which may be the only way to pay for the fiscal and monetary policies of the Federal government. Yes, hyperinflation will benefit those that manipulate the currency and the politicians that dole it out.

Opium For Opportunists - III
Then, if we consider that certain government goons might add our $12tn of debt and $56T-75tn in unfunded mandates for social security and medicaid to an economies of 1) Japan that has witnessed a 49% decline in exports; 2) China's, who had seen a 26% decrease in its own exports while it had over 125,000 riots last year alone; 3) Western European countries that are statist governments, with massive welfare states and own 76% of the debt of the former Eastern Bloc countries; 4) Africa that is a catastophic mess; 5) South America that are moving collectively towards failed socialist states will only result in a basketization of debt that will be the greatest incident of child abuse every inflicted in Western Civilization.

You can rest assured in either scenario, however, that your wealth will provide the opium for opportunists.

Throughout it all, the manipulators and those that manipulate will dine on Wagyu while you scrape the back door in an effort to attract a few crumbs.

Solutions?
Got any suggestion for a solution to his master plan?

Silly
Conservative reaction to Emanuel's "don't let a crisis go to waste" is one of the silliest things I have ever seen in politics. NOBODY who works with people lets a crisis go to waste---it's called "a teaching moment". Every parent knows this. Every schoolteacher knows this. And definitely every politician knows this---Dick Cheney's political use of the 9-11 attack will stand for centuries as the Gold Standard of not letting a crisis go to waste. What is going on with all this hoo-hah about Rahm Emanuel could better be called "never let a chance to bash the political opposition go to waste". You know, like complaining that Michelle Obama wears sleeveless dresses and touched the Queen.

THE real climax of President Obama's Spring Apologies Tour wasn't his photo op with our troops in Baghdad or even his "American Guilt" concerts in Western Europe.

While fans in the press cheered wildly at every venue, the real performance came in Turkey. And it was a turkey.

Obama means well. Just as Jimmy Carter, his policy godfather, meant well. But the road to embassy takeovers and strategic humiliation is paved with good intentions -- coupled with distressing naivete.

On every stage, Obama draped Lady Liberty in sackcloth and ashes, drawing plentiful applause but no serious economic or security cooperation in return. Then, in Turkey, he surrendered our national pride, undercut our interests and interfered in matters that aren't his business.

What Next?
Everything Obama does is designed to harm the nation and he has been inflicting as much harm as possible as quickly as he can. He obviously has plans that are even worse than that which we have seen because he has commandeered 80,000 troops with which to corral 'we the little people,' as though 80,000 were enough to suppress millions of people. It makes me wonder what this trash and his profane administration have coming down the pike. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Tradition
The behavior is learned at the local level and is not new by ant stretch. This type of politician never sees a constituent problem that can't be turned into a revenue enhancement, normally without actually fixing the problem.

Change We Can't Believe In
Dear Leader always promised 'change'. We expected it,though we were not sure what to expect. Now we see just what he meant.

He and his masters,Soros,Pelosi,Reid and many other socialists intend to change us from a capitalist country to a fascist/socialist one.

We were too 'Big an Rich'. We could never be part of the New World Order if we were rich. We had to be made poor or at least on a level playing field with the rest of the world.

We are not only poor now,we are so deep in debt,we are financially bankrupt. Morally bankrupt, also. We will soon be no more than a Third World Country, ready to accept any handouts from the government.Chaos will follow.

Utopia

America is Utopia when compared to any other country in the world. Most problems we have had is the results of bad decisions in our personal lives. Many have come to depend on government to take the place of families.

Bad decisions usually have bad results. We may be our brothers keepers, but our brothers are also supposed to help themselves. If through bad personal decisions, they are unable to do so,who's problem is it,ours or theirs?

I get so tired of reading about how bad we are in America. These confused people are the sort who voted for Obama hoping he would take care of them. Well,he is going to do just that.I don't think they will like his medicine, though.

A People of the Government?
Somehow I don't think so. At some point something is going to have to break bad enough for the people to say "enough" and actually mean it.

Three weeks ago
we heard the word "crisis" three times in every sentence coming out of Barry's mouth. He got what he wanted. Is this supposed crisis over? Or will we have to wait until Barry's next spending spree to hear the word again?

a

Did you read my wedding announcement in the Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Financial Times, The Economist, or Der Speigel?

Oh, and Moody's has an story on my honeymoon this morning wherein it described how Moody's has announced that it doesn't know if municipal bonds are investment grade.

How will your county build a bridge if it can't sell its debt?

When the Federal Reserve announces that it is, effectively, printing more money or another bailout is announced, you will know that I am expecting.

Silly, a, don't you know that Hank Paulson, who was once the Chairman of Goldman-Sach's, and his successor was the ONLY non-government individual involved in creating TARP. Of course, Paulson didn't just give his buddy the money. It had to be laundered through AIG first. The opportunists will take advantage of every "crisis" to separate you from your money. This is exactly what George Soros did last year when he made $1.2bn when nearly everyone else was losing money.

ropati - was change now crisis
That's a great point. Now he uses the term "crisis" just like he used "change" during the election. What's pathetic is that people believe him.

WASTE WHAT??!
They're wasting the success potential of our children by saddling them with future debt in order to force their agenda now. The origin of this "crisis" was citizens outspending themselves and helping create the housing bubble. Did nobody learn a lesson after the dotcom collapse? Now we have the fasionable and hip presidential candidate in the white house and he and congress are doing the overspending for us. This has never worked historically, and even produced worse consequences. If the republicans can't retake the houses of congress in about a year and a half, the conservatives should depart the party and start a new one. There are more conservatives in the party than liberals, yet the liberals seem to control.

Crisis?
We don't need no stinking crisis!

Why is the "never let a crisis go to waste" comment such a big deal? If you look at government, at all levels, the tactic is create solution to a phantom crisis to justify the existence of government. Without a crisis the need for politicians is zero, therefore the first priority of a politician is to create a crisis.

The real news is that the politicians, most of which are of questionable ancestry, would be so truthful as to publicly admit that crisis is essential to THEIR existence

Best Wishes for the CEOs
Personally, I have no sympathy for CEOs fired by Obama. It is their just rewards for supporting him.

All CEOs and high paid executives of our largest, multi-national companies should be ousted and jailed awaiting execution for their duplicity.

I hope the fired CEOs lose their families and all their property. I hope they come home and find their spouses giving pleasure to ACORN activists and their kids running off with raeggae (sp?) bands in Jamaica.

Creep sellout cowards, all of them.

Such a perch
I don't know of any politician who would not take advantage of the current economic panic in order to forward their programs. If Republicans were in office now they would be doing the same thing (remember 9/11). Conservatives lost because they took advantage of a bad situation and failed. It is too soon to tell how Obama will fare.

sounds like........
Fascism:
{Where socialism sought totalitarian control of a society’s economic processes through direct state operation of the means of production, fascism sought that control indirectly, through domination of nominally private owners. Where socialism nationalized property explicitly, fascism did so implicitly, by requiring owners to use their property in the “national interest”—that is, as the autocratic authority conceived it. (Nevertheless, a few industries were operated by the state.) Where socialism abolished all market relations outright, fascism left the appearance of market relations while planning all economic activities. Where socialism abolished money and prices, fascism controlled the monetary system and set all prices and wages politically. In doing all this, fascism denatured the marketplace. Entrepreneurship was abolished. State ministries, rather than consumers, determined what was produced and under what conditions.

Under fascism, the state, through official cartels, controlled all aspects of manufacturing, commerce, finance, and agriculture. Planning boards set product lines, production levels, prices, wages, working conditions, and the size of firms. Licensing was ubiquitous; no economic activity could be undertaken without government permission. Levels of consumption were dictated by the state, and “excess” incomes had to be surrendered as taxes or “loans.” }

Oh you mean like Clinton? Or how about Barney frank sleeping with his gay lover and giving him a job to boot!

Only liberals give a care who's sleeping with who - conservatives care about job performance and in Clinton's case perjury.

Tim's just mad because Morris is spilled the truth about the Clinton's -- and is now exposing the Obama agenda.

All this talk...
... about how bad things are and are getting under our idiot POTUS and SOTH yet nothing of substance is being done to stop the wreckage.

All talk and no action makes America a failed nation...

... just like Germany in the 1930's.

All talk
right now is a good thing - the people who voted for BO - need to be educated somehow. The MSM sure isn't doing their job.

Once educated then the people can take action - vote the bums out 2010/2012.

Vote in and support NON-politicians in local elections, and make them accountable.

Education groups to counter ACORN (and others) in the inner cities is a must.

New Rasmussen Poll
Just 53% Say Capitalism Better Than Socialism
Thursday, April 09, 2009 Email to a FriendAdvertisementOnly 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better.

Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. Thirty-somethings are a bit more supportive of the free-enterprise approach with 49% for capitalism and 26% for socialism. Adults over 40 strongly favor capitalism, and just 13% of those older Americans believe socialism is better.

Investors by a 5-to-1 margin choose capitalism. As for those who do not invest, 40% say capitalism is better while 25% prefer socialism.

There is a partisan gap as well. Republicans - by an 11-to-1 margin - favor capitalism. Democrats are much more closely divided: Just 39% say capitalism is better while 30% prefer socialism. As for those not affiliated with either major political party, 48% say capitalism is best, and 21% opt for socialism.

Obama and Geithner
are a helluva reward for the liberals that supported them. If those two doofuss' were rulers of democrats only, I'd be ROTFLMAO. But, unfortunately, right thinking people are ruefully stuck with them.

So far O's appointments are all dedicated to his agenda of driving America straight into the ground and making this nation dependent upon the EU and Javier Solana. Unless they are stopped, we are in for it.

Has anyone looked into the geneaology of Geithner? I'd love to know who spawned him...

A Crisis That.....
The New World Order has begun....woe to us all! Thanks Bush for helping BO get it going!! I can't believe this MESS! I am thinking that BOTH Dem. & Rep. parties have a STENCH!!

Mr. Morris
Have you ever considered just writing fiction novels instead of political books? I think you would be good at it. It is not that you may not be right, it just that in the scheme of things for the next four years it does not matter. All the American People can do is complain until they have a chance to vote again for the same people they voted for this time. The President is out the barn door now, Dick.
However, what I saw you doing on FOXNEWS this morning was not a figment of my imagination or some amateurish speculation or fiction. The "Kelly" had you on the verge of pulling your hair out. Bravo Kelly!!! Did he BOW??? Well uh..I...well uh..I you.. see this is not important to me..I uh think this is more...uh important. Was this a BOW??
You can not tell the "Kelly" what a BOW is, but you can with great accuracy determine what Obama's "Ulta-Intelligent"(Bill O';FoxNews)Brain is revealing. If you take my advice and do fiction writing, may I suggest the movie Malcolm X. That's how they do it,Dick! I can't use the M-word or the middle name, but I think you could learn a lot from the Spike about writing.

When will Americans Wake Up?
I continue to be baffled by the apathy of the American publin in general. It's a given that there are powerful people in the banking world whose goals are to dominate and rule the world, yet the American public continue to worship at the feet of the future despot, Obama. Can you not all see that he is being controlled by these people? Do you not care about the country that suckled you and nurtured you and provided you with the opportunity to make something of yourself? Is there no patriotism today? Are you really all that stupid? WAKE UP AMERICA!!! There's a fox in the hen house and he's eating up all of your future meals!!!!

For the sake of your children and your children's children, grow a set and do something about it!!! Contact your representatives and let them know in no uncertain terms that you've had enough and that unless they change things, we will dump them out in the streets. Wait much longer and the freedoms that currently allow you to do such a thing will be long gone and your only retribution will be backed up by the gun you tote.

f You Wait'n on Me......
OUR Prez, is not as inept as he may seem, he has become what he is by practice and a support staff worthy of his talent, the best of bunch of thieves money can buy. Liars, tax cheats, scam artist and a congress full of con men to boot.

Now you tell me where a man who wanted to be prez by hook or crook could fulfill his dreams in such a short time but in this great land called America, a land filled with wondering idiots and poorly educated clowns.

The poor guy is so busy trying to rip off America and sell the pieces, he hasn't got time to pay attention to all the nations enemies lining up at the back door to get in and make a grab before he has all the pieces marked and priced. It's probably going to give him a headache in his overworked brain and cause leakage out his big ears. (can you say big ears?)

f You Wait'n on Me ...
You got that right Ontime. He's no dummy and neither are the people who are pulling his strings behind the scenes. Why do you think that both he and Hillary went missing just after the election? While the supposed MSM "watchdogs" hunted for them to heap more praise at their respective doors, they were meeting with the Bilderberg Group in a super secret session at at Mariott in DC to discuss how they can continue to fleece us.

Oh no. Big Ears is no dummy. He just suckered millions of idiots into voting for him and no dummy can pull that off, I don't care how great a speaker he is.

I hearken back to that stupid, stupid lady who cried when he was announced the winner who said, and I paraphrase, 'I never thought I'd see this day. Now I don't have to worry about paying my mortgage or putting gas in my car. Obama will take care of all of that for me.'

What a muffin she was. Sadly, there are millions more just like her who don't have the intellect to read a newspaper and see behing the pretty print.

America, alas I knew her well.

we will restore 'Pay As You Go' budget
{In the 2006 election cycle, the Democrats produced a document, "A New Direction For America," where they wrote: "Democrats are committed to ending years of irresponsible budget policies that have produced historic deficits. Instead of piling trillions of dollars of debt onto our children and grandchildren, we will restore 'Pay As You Go' budget discipline."

Tough new pay-as-you-go rules, and a crackdown on unpopular earmarks excited voters, especially disaffected, small-government independents. One can hardly blame them for siding with the Democrats. }

pay-as- you-go
{OBAMA: Absolutely. So let me get to that. What I want to emphasize, though, is that I have been a strong proponent of pay-as- you-go. Every dollar that I've proposed, I've proposed an additional cut so that it matches.}

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/10/debate-t ranscri.html

Just One Question
What makes you think we'll be having an election in 2012?

Economic collapse
Of course B-HO has no plan for the economy to recover now, his only priorty is to drive us all to our knees. There can not be a recovery without the Auto Industry running at full tilt making cars, all manufacturing n this country depends on a robust auto industry. So all the talk about housing being the reason for the slump, and lowering interest rates as the way to jump start the economy is just malarkey pedaled by Dimocrap morons. Whos going to but a house at zero percent interest if they dont have a job and a way to pay the mortgage. Politicians on both sides of the Isle think that everybody works in offices and only the low brow and uneducated work in factories. This of course is not true, Manufacturing automobiles is where most true middle class people work, and if you are going to kill this industry then you are going to kill this economy, we dont make anything else in sufficent quanity to make a difference.

Roland
Manufacturing automobiles is where most true middle class people work, and if you are going to kill this industry then you are going to kill this economy... Roland

===================================

All the more reason to allow the car companies to file for bankruptcy protection. They will emerge reorganized and shed all the union contracts that bogged them down to begin with.

Unions like parasites on a host - are killing your jobs in MI.

Southern states are not losing the auto industry. Ask yourself why.

A CRISIS THAT OBAMA WON'T WASTE
Dear Mr. Morris, I admire your intelligence and the way you explain everything. I have read this article and I found the conclusion in juxtaposition with what you describe in some paragraphs above. I quote "But Obama knows all this. He knows that his steps will delay economic recovery. But he wants these changes not as means to an end, but as the end itself. And he is determined to get them passed and set in stone while the rubric of "crisis" justifies his doing so." And you know that what he is doing is following a script which is the same Fidel Castro used in my native Cuba, destroy the economy and then proclaim himself as the savior with absolute power, nationalize everything so it can be fixed and returned to their owners later when the crisis is solved. Have you seen this happening recently in other countries like Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador just to mention a few in this continent?

Of course he does not.
"But ultimately, does Obama care if he is re-elected? Doesn't he know that he needs a good economy to extend his mandate to eight years? Yes, of course he does."

Mr. Morris apparently doesn't get it. The 2012 elections will be a managed farce. Maybe farce isn't the right word, considering that there not only be falsification of votes and police protection for the falsifiers, but also intimidation or maybe even supression of opposition.
