Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

He’s the guy who was running for president before all the national attention shifted to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Now, McCain seems to be only an afterthought, at best, or an anachronism, at worst. He has got to get back into the game, otherwise he will never be in contention.

Forget that he leads in the polls. That means nothing. His lead is only the consequence of the division among Democrats. Supporters of Hillary are quite incapable of uttering the “O” word to a pollster and Obama backers won’t admit that they’d ever back Hillary. But once the they settle on a nominee — provided there is no super delegate larceny involved — Democrats will be Democrats and McCain’s lead will vanish. He has got to use this period, when he is not under attack, to flesh out his image and begin his campaign.

To do that, he can’t wait on the sidelines and only put out carefully controlled stories — like his biographical tour which he has just begun. He has to wade into the midst of current controversy, carve out his message, demonstrate his relevance, and make the headlines he needs to become a center of attention and interest.

What should be his message? Populism. Many will urge that he fortify his base. But with Republican Party identification at an all time low, there isn’t enough base out there to win. He needs to attract swing voters. Not by going to the left of the Democrats, but by transcending their liberalism by attacking the forces of privilege thei r party is bent on protecting.

Here are a few choice targets:

• McCain should go after those who have caused the subprime crisis and demand justice. He should press for recapture of the fees and commissions they made by making loans they knew were no good. He should demand that their licenses be ended, their institutions closed, and their ill gotten gains confiscated.

• He should attack credit card companies for their abuse of consumers through usurious interest rates, high penalty fees imposed at the drop of a hat, and interchange fees that add to the cost of everything we buy.

• McCain should take up the case against Congressional perks, building on his efforts to curtail earmarks, cracking down on Congressional ethics, and taking aim at the day to day practices (as opposed to the speeches) of his two fellow senators who are running for office.

• He should go after regulators who don’t regulate, beginn ing with those who let unsafe toys into the U.S. He should condemn the FAA for its weaknesses. He should go after the Fed and other regulators for their laxity in the face of the emerging credit crisis.

• McCain should blast China for its abuse of Tibet. While governments are cowed into silence, McCain should speak out for human liberty and against the repressive tactics of Beijing even as China wants us to celebrate their Olympic games.

Strong, vigorous, populist advocacy can bring the spotlight back to McCain, draw attention to the integrity and strength which has always made him a unique public figure.

As he sought the GOP nomination, this muckraking McCain had to be bottled up inside a national security conservative façade. But no matter how deeply McCain believes in national security, it is his populism that has earned him the plaudits that got him to where he is today.

It’s time for the bleached out McCain to exit and f or the hearty, embattled, opponent of falsity and privilege to take center stage. And, to show the Democrats how to do it.

What About Illegal Immigration?
Conservatives will not vote for McCain because he is pro-amnesty for illegal aliens, among other things. I can't imagine why Dick Morris ignored this giant elephant in the room.

Remember Juan Herandez???????

When I heard McCain's Hispanic Outreach guy was none other than Smiling Juan Hernandez, I knew John McCain has heard nothing we have had to say.

Smiling Juan Hernadez

We know who he is, we know his loyalties are to Mexico, we know he wants to erase our borders and immigration laws.

JOHN MCCAIN, YOU NEED A NEW HEARING AID

Smiling Juan Hernandez

In case you don't know him, he used to work for the Mexican govt., lately he has been shilling for "rights" for illegal aliens in this country. He has said he wants Mexicans to remain Mexicans even if they are living here. His loyalties are to Mexico, not U.S.

Questions for illegal alien apologists like John McCain:

Why does The National Council of the Race (la raza in spanish) and the Chamber of Commerce get to negotiate a "Comprehensive Shafting of The American Citizens" behind closed doors? Since when does an organization representing foreign nationals breaking our laws get to rewrite our immigration laws to suit the lawbreakers? Isn't this akin to allowing NAMBLA to rewrite our laws regarding child predators? Or allowing organized crime syndicates to rewrite racketeering, gambling, prostitution, and extortion laws?

We The People are being told by our representatives that we should sit down and shut up while they invite in the entire world. We The People should get some say in this matter. Another amnesty will set off a stampede like we have never seen before. There is not much time to save our country. All the power and money are on the side of shoving this amnesty down our throats. The RNC wants an amnesty candidate, don't vote for one.

Remember Juan Hernandez?

McCain keeps saying "Secure the border first". We know that he means amnesty next. The plan is to get the border state Gov's to declare the border secure. Conveniently, they are all on board the cheap labor express. Then his good friend Ted Kennedy will bring back McCain/Kennedy and McCain can provide his good friends across the aisle with their new permanent majority.

I will not vote for amnesty.

“John McCain’s position on immigration is very clear and this a question that gets asked at townhall appearances everyday in media appearances and has answered the question at least a thousand times before the New Hampshire primary,” Schmidt said.

He explained, “Any person who supports John McCain’s campaigns is a subscriber to John McCain’s views"

A vote for McCain is a vote for surrender of your country.

6 of 1--
I believe that it is 6 of 1 and a half dozen of the other when talking about Juan and BHO and the Shilly. None will probably lift a finger to stop iloegal immigration and we will be stuck will millions of more of the parasites and have pay higher taxes to support them.

Tell me this is only a bad dream..

Virginia Patriot
How do you explain Ronald Reagan granting amnesty to illegal aliens? Why didn't he do what Eisenhower did under Eisenhower's Operation Wet B@ack and deport them? It would seem that the granting of amnesty did nothing except make the problem worse. I'm for criminal penalties for employers hiring illegals. I'm for withholding federal funds for sanctuary cities and states. I'm for arresting illegal aliens when they march in protest to our deporting them. I'm for taking away tax-exempt status to churches that give them sanctuary from ICE doing its job. Those are starts to making illegal aliens returning home a more attractive option.

How often do you contact members of Congress? I do it daily.

Sam
Bye Bye!

Morris writes
that republican identification is at an all time low. DUH! Maybe, Dick, it is because our standard bearer is not a republican and many of us feel betrayed. We have no one to vote for. This is the first time in over thirty years that I have not given money or time to the republican party.

Sam
You will need $20K in cash to move there. Enjoy the socialized medicine!

How do you know you are leaving us with McCain? Sheeesh. It might be Clinton or Obama. Would seeing a Republican lose make you happy enough to stay? Just think, a Democrat Prez and Congress.

Virginia Patriot
Back to my question, don't you agree that Reagan's amnesty for illegal aliens made the problem worse?

Wouldn't you rather have a plan like Eisenhower's Operation Wet B@ck and deport all?

Wouldn't it be helpful if all employers hiring illegal aliens got a criminal charge and civil penalty? Don't you think federal funding should be withheld from sanctuary cities? Don't you think churches who give sanctuary to illegal aliens ought to lose their tax exempt status? If they are caught driving without a license, shouldn't the car be forfeited and they be deported? There are a lot of states now taking action because George Bush won't. What is your state doing? What are you doing other than complaining?

Insightful column
It appears as though mister conventional wisdom has actually produced a column that has some political insight.

Cowardly Sam
Sam , you coward don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Anyone who doesn't vote for Sen McCain in the General Election is by Proxy Voting for Sen Clinton or Sen Obama whichever wins the Democrat nomination.

I can't bring myself to vote for either Democrat. If by doing nothing and not voting you aid in bringing them to power then you would be just as guilty as if you actively voted for them.

Sen McCain was not pulled from the sky and annointed. He was voted by an overwhelming majority of Primary voters. Now I personally think the Primary season should be changed. He had won the nomination well before my state primary (PA). However, he is the nominee and he is head and shoulders better then either democrat.

I live by a code of conduct that says in part, "I will never surrender of my own free will, if I am senior I will never surrender my men while they have the means to resist".

The same goes to politics. As long as I have the means (my vote) I will not surrender to Sen Obama or SenClinton. In my book anyone that surrenders and doesnt vote for Sen McCain is a coward or a lefty.

Just my $.02

all good points
All good points from Dick,
and the readers.

And don't forget gas prices.
They're killing us ! ! !

Anyone that thinks we're not
getting gouged is an idiot.......

tinsldr2
McCain will do all the things the dems want and the repubs will get all the blame for the failures that happens, spread your cheeks it will be an interesting 4 yrs.

And if the other side gets in?
Discoduck thinks that Sen McCain is a lacky. His voting record shows the opposite. But many folks like Disco will delude themselves into believing the opposite. On over 80% of the votes he made , he voted with the Republican Party.

Now how does that compare with a Sen Clinton or Obama? How often have they voted for the Conservative stance?

I stand by my assertion that if you allow a democrat to become President by inaction, you are going to do far more damage then Sen Mcain will do.

Remember its not just what they do while in Office. If the democrats win it will likely be 8 years of supreme court and circuit judges, liberal laws and higher taxes and spending and a military defeat against terror.

Now because u disagree with Sen McCain on two or three issues is that what you really want?

"All that it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to stand by and do nothing"

So to the cowards and defeatist out there I say go ahead and stand by and do nothing, or be brave and openly admit that you support a Sen Obama / Clinton Presidency. I will cast my vote agaisnt Democrats.

McCain Can Blah Blah Blah All He Wants
McCain can say anything, I'm not voting for him. His problem is what he has done, not what he says he's going to do. We have 3 ineffective US Senators running for office. How that could happen, I'll never know. And if you don't think his personal warts are going to show up during the general election, you're fooing yourself.

zedsmom
Ronald Reagan said years later that the amnesty for illegal aliens was his biggest mistake. He said that he was duped as much as we were.

Saying that Ronald Reagan was for amnesty is dishonest and taken out of context. He regretted the decision! Drop it already!

BOHICA
BEND OVER HERE IT COMES AGAIN!!!!

The difference tween McCain and the other two is that republicans/conservatives can and will hold him accountable. shrillary and the closet muslim osama obama will tell us to get lost. It is hard to believe that in April 1775 a bunch of farmers and tradesmen opened fire on british regulars at Lexinton and Concord. Now 233 years later we can't even patrol our own border. At some point the American people are gonna say enough and there will be action.

Tinsldr2
You are the coward. Your fear of Obama and Clinton is clearly your primary motivation for choosing McCain. Would you choose him otherwise? Probably not.

I don't want McCain.
I don't want Obama.
I don't want Clinton.

Why the f'ck would I vote for someone I don't want?

THREE CHOICES
At this point, there are three candidates. “None of the above” is not an option. A better candidate is not waiting behind door number four.

Anyone who does not vote for John McCain will be responsible for the outcome. Anyone who abstains from voting will be responsible for the outcome. Anyone who votes for Hillary or Barack will be responsible for the outcome.

John McCain was not my first or second preference for the Republican nomination. I don't always vote for a Republican. I for one will do whatever I can to ensure the better of three candidates sits in the highest office of the land, John McCain.

So A Mistake Reagan Made
years ago means we shouldn't get rid of the illegal aliens today? That's idiotic thinking, zedsmom. It wasn't so much as a mistake on Reagan's part as it was a betrayal by the Congress. They "forgot" all about the enforcement part.

Sam, you nailed it at 11:05. I'm short but around the illegals, I'm a giant. Have you noticed the goat trails they carve into our landscape?

Heads up, everyone--Bob Barr is looking to run as a libertarian. McCain is gonna be pissed.

Dick Morris says that McCain's message
should be Populism? Excuse me? No, the message needs to be conservative principles- and I didn't say "Republican priniciples." I thought maybe Dick Morris was our friend since he is on a mission to expose the chicanery and sliminess of the Clintons. But then again, I have to tell myself, "not so fast." He does have a traceable history from his political advisor days, but that resume comes from the "other side."

Despite Dick's conversion to the "right" side, he apparently is not yet grasping what drives the "base." It's NOT feel-good, populist speeches, telling people what they want to hear. Mike Huckabee fell short with that strategy.

Alas, conservatives are a ship without a homeport at this juncture.

No Spotlight PLEASE!
"Strong, vigorous, populist advocacy can bring the spotlight back to McCain"

Thats just what McLame needs, the harsh spotlight to accent his total unacceptability as a presidential candidate. He has no positions, he advocates nothing except his own advancement, his 'populism'-as phony as Obama's and Hillary's or any populist's always is- comes across as especially unconvincing. McLame cannot beat either Dem contender because his TV persona is a turnoff. Period. There is not a speck of leadership in his heart and not a note of music in his soul.

zedsmom
Reagan made a mistake, it has resulted in 10 times the number of illegal aliens. Eisenhower had the right idea and the right stuff. We don't have anyone today with that kind of courage. Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement is what we need, but we won't get it, the power and money don't want to stop the inundation of illegals. Attrition through enforcement will work if we can get anyone to try it. I contact my congressman at least once a week.

Hold your horses Colonel Dan
"None of the above" is an option. I believe we still have the freedom to vote for the person we want, even if that person is not in one of the two major parties. You may not like it, it may not help your cause, but, hey, that's too bad.

On immigration
I would actually like to hear McCain say something that makes sense on immigration. I stand by three points, and would like to hear McCain agree with me.

First point: since 1988, I have visited 50+ countries. Every border I crossed, I did legally, and I have the passport stamps to show it. I have taken it on myself to have language translation assistance if I needed it, and I have operated in the context of that country. I expect visitors to my country to do the same, and if they break my country's laws (for example by entering illegally), to be sent home.

Second point: forgiving illegal behavior doesn't end it, it authorizes it. I understand that many illegal aliens have built lives here, and the consequences of their actions are pitiful indeed. So what - that's often true when one breaks the law. They should go home and return legally, and then resume those lives.

Third point: American business depends in many ways on low cost labor, much of which is imported. The Dems talk about a "guest worker" program, and given the first two points I agree with them. Let's enable a business (not a gov't agency) in Mexico that will help Mexicans get their documents, be an employment agency connecting labor with US firms, and be a travel agency helping that labor transit the border easily, reliably, safely - and legally.

That is small-government, pro-business, ethical, and respectful of borders - all things Republicans stand for last I checked.

Amnesty Is Unacceptable
If John McCain wants my vote, he will drop his insistence on amnesty. If he loses, it will be because he insisted on amnesty. No one's fault but his own.

You're all forgetting something
John McCain is the "presumed" republican nominee. His nomination is not yet official, and there's one candidate still in the race: Ron Paul! C'mon national delegates, do the right thing and nominate a real traditional conservative! If Ron Paul does not win the republican nomination, say hello to president Clinton or Obama, because president McCain will never happen. Period.

Illegals and McCain
If the problem with the illegal immigration mess we have in the country is your only issue in this presidential campaign, then you have no one to vote for.

But, if you are looking for a socialist state with justices on the federal level getting their rulings from third world country rulings you can vote for Hillary or Obama. Either will do that for you.

If you are not interested in socialism and want federal judges to interpret the constitution and not go elsewhere to justify their votes then you'd better consider McCain.

The illegal immigration issue is what caused us to get a Democrat congress in the last election. What good did it do you to stay at home? Has the issue been resolved to your satisfaction? No, and it won't be for sure with our Democrat friends. And maybe not with McCain either, but we really do have bigger fish to fry and we need to consider all of it and not one issue.

Skep41:
You are absolutely right!

McCain is boring and appears feeble-minded. No vigor there. Also he is timid, except when it comes to attacking conservatives. He's afraid to attack Dems --under the guise of wanting an honorable campaign.

Remember Conservatism?
This article is gosh-aweful. Mr. Morris' proscription is for McCain to campaign as a 1980s democrat -- More regulation! Free Market Bad! Government can fix!

My big fear is that McCain will not only will take this bad advice, but that he means it.

Some conservative friends have said "Hey, at least he will appoint good constructionist judges". But huh, wha? One of the founding members of the "Gang of 14", whose collaboration with Feingold is one of the most hideous abridgements of free speech ever seen will do WHAT?

--Watching the Libertarian Party nomination process closely these days--

Unfortunately, Mr. Morris --
I've stopped reading your columns because these days you are the self-appointed Hillary hitman and little more. While I'm certainly not a Hillary supporter, your columns just smack of "the-enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend" and lately don't have much else to say. And in this case you're just dead-out wrong. McCain is not the voter's friend.

I understand you don't like Mrs. Clinton. I understand you feel she is Satan's spawn. I understand you would rather see Joseph Stalin elected in her stead.

Fate dealt you a pretty tough hand, Mr. Morris, in that you have little to work with in supporting either of the two candidates who currently oppose Clinton. We the voters are in no better position. But let's just get a little real about McCain. Far from being a "hearty, embattled, opponent of falsity and privilege," he is a weak, old, purveyor of falsity who is elitist to his core.

Jeanette
If you want globull warming taxation, Gitmo closed, judges who will not overturn McCain-Feingold, socialism-lite, vote for McCain, there are other choices on the ballot than R or D.

to Dick Morris
You are the one who has published weekly columns that were focussed on Hillary like a starving dog on a bone.

Why are you whining now that McCain isn't getting enough attention?

Jeanette
The "illegal immigration mess" involves much more than just one "issue."

It involves national security, economic security, respect for the rule of law, the health and safety of our citizens, fairness,...etc.

Illegal immigration is not the only reason I hate McCain and will not vote for him. But, do I really need more of a reason?

A SNOW BALL'S CHANCE
If there were any viable, third-party candidates with positions worthy of our votes, I would forget all about McCain. Ron Paul or any of the other candidates will not win. Voting for anyone other than McCain is a wasted vote. Voting for anyone other than McCain will ensure a Democrat will win the presidency while both houses maintain Democrat majorities. Not voting for McCain will ensure a wide pendulum swing to the Left.

If you vote for McCain and...
he loses, will you think your vote was wasted? Only you, not someone else, can decide if your vote was wasted.

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote was never lost." JOHN QUINCY ADAMS

GET REAL
Voting for McCain is born out of principle and out of pragmatism. I have never had an opportunity to vote for a candidate for any office who reflected all my opinions. Let’s chat after eight years of President Obama and discuss regrets. McCain is no guarantee but he is a frontrunner.

It's not a wasted vote!
The only wasted vote is the one cast for a candidate the voter doesn't like, but believes the alternative to be worse. It's never a wasted vote when you vote for who you really want. That's why I'm voting for Ron Paul, even if it means I have to write his name in!

PERSPECTIVE
“Democrats are the only reason to vote for Republicans” ~ Will Rogers

“Elections are won by men and women chiefly because most people vote against somebody rather than for somebody.” ~ Franklin Pierce Adams

Once again Dick is wrong
McCain doesn't need to get into the news right now. Everyone already knows that he is the Republican candidate. The General election campaign has not yet begun. This is not like what happened to Guiliani. Guiliani was running for the Republican nomination and wasn't in the news about the Republican candidates. That was a mistake. However, McCain isn't running for the Democratic nomination so he doesn't need to compete with them. Let them hack at each other and he can come in and clean up when they are done. I just don't get how people like Dick Morris ever get national attention.

McCains Hero
More Than 1,000 in Iraq’s Forces go AWOL during Basra 7 day Fight

The desertions in the heat of a major battle cast fresh doubt on the effectiveness of the American-trained Iraqi security forces. The White House has conditioned further withdrawals of American troops on the readiness of the Iraqi military and police.
The crisis created by the desertions and other problems with the Basra operation was serious enough that Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki hastily began funneling some 10,000 recruits from local Shiite tribes into his armed forces.

A reported asked: "Who was in charge of training the Iraqi forces"?

Answer: "General Petraeus was in charge in 2004 and 2005"

What was General Petraeus' primary mission when assigned to Iraq in Feb. 2007?

Asnswer: General Petraeus's Primary Mission was to Secure Baghdad to allow the Iraqi Governemet a secure envirnment to pas key legislation. After Baghdad he was to expand the security outside Baghdad including the next largest cities of Basra and Mosel.

Status: The Iraqi Govenment has passed 5 of 18 key legislations.
Over the past 3 days several US Troops and over a dozen Civilians have been KILLED and WOUNDED in THE GREEN ZONE!!
Basra and Mosel remain the most dangerous places in Iraq slightly behind Baghdad.

In June 2004, less than six months after the 101st returned to the U.S., Petraeus was promoted to lieutenant general ( 2 Star ) and charged with the task of training the new Iraqi Army and security forces as commander of the Multi-National Security Transition Command Iraq.

Petraeus returned to Iraq in February 2007 ( as a 4 Star General ) to lead the "SURGE". He commands 650,000 Allied and Iraqi Forces that are trying to "DEFEAT" 6000 Al Qaida Terrorists that want to come to the United States and KILL Americans.

Petraeus is scheduled to return to the US later this year with a PROMOTION to 5 Stars.

Give ME a BREAK!

Neither a liberal nor a coward
If you're a conservative, a vote for McCain is a wasted vote. He doesn't just reach across the aisle, he runs across and plants big wet ones on his favorite liberal allies.

Big spending, taxpayer bailouts for businesses and, coming soon, for mortgage holders, economic stimulus tax "rebates" that equate to welfare for non-taxpaying recipients, amnesty for illegals: you'd think these were positions of the Democrats. No, the Republicans have embraced them as well. A pox on both their houses.

"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right." ~H.L. Mencken

Tinsldr2
McCain was not selected by a wide majority of primary voters. He received a slim plurality of the popular vote, which converted to a big (unpledged) delegate lead, leaving us in this nasty mess.

Corporal Dan - Get Real Yourself
I'll allow that a vote for McCain may be seen by some as pragmatic, but...principled? Hah! No f'ckin' way! Get real!

If you're looking for converts to your McCain cause, you'd probably have better luck trying win over the Obama and Clinton supporters. After all, there is so little practical difference between the three puppets, does it really make a difference which one you/they pick? Hardly.

Corporal Dan - More Perspective
“Democrats are the only reason to vote for Republicans, except when the Republican is actually a Democrat" ~ Greg B

the sub-prime mess
so far, no comments on the cause of the sub prime mess. if you do a little googling, and intelligent reading, you will find that it was the Clinton administration which REQUIRED lenders to lend to unworthy (i.e., insolvent) buyers, to help them realize the "american dream". all this was done at the urging of groups like ACORN. banks which did not cooperate were harassed and even sued by the Clinton justice department. all this was back in 1995, based on a skewed study made in '92. the big question is WHY isn't the stupid party calling the evil party to task for this?

P.S. Ol' George Wallace was right--there ain't a dimes worth of difference between the two parties. Go Constitution Party. We need a voice for the common man.

Candidates

During our election year for a president we have had more candidates campaigning for president in the history of America than ever before. We have had a Mormon Elder, a Baptist Preacher, a Viet Nam prisoner of war Hero, a white female socialist, a black male socialist, a black male conservative, Liberal Senators and Liberal Congressmen Lawyers, a Libertarian and a socialist UFO observer.

And now, after the process of elimination, we have a socialist Ralph Nader Green Party candidate, a Republican POW, a black male socialist Democrat and a white female socialist Democrat vowing to be Commander-in-Chief of our military and president of our country.

Astronomy and Astrology is the study of stars and celestial bodies and the effects they have on human events. Are there any of you people on the planet who can determine what caused this alignment of the sun, moon stars and planets? Are there any prophets? Can anyone explain this situation the world is in and why we are disposed to vote for any of these candidates who have nothing in mind but power?

They are NOT all the same
If you people think there is very little difference between the three candidates and that it does NOT matter which one gains the Whitehouse, think again! Forget parties, it is political philosophy, worldview, intelligence, experience and economic understanding that matters. McCain is a moderate and will certainly compromise when he believes a principle is at stake. He may not be the "brightest bulb in the box", but he is certainly mature, thoughful, careful and appears to measure the impact of his decisions. Mrs. Clinton is simply a self centered egotist with no firm beliefs beyond what will allow her to gain more power and her rightful place as the next President. She leans very much left, but will abandon any position if it increases her popularity and enhances her power (just like her husband). Obama is scary. He is an inexperienced, socialist idealist with questionable decision making skills. His writings show a troubling lack of realism and his association with the good Reverand indicates a person struggling with their own identity. He is far too intellectually imature and too much the radical idealist to trust with making far-reaching decision that can impact this country for decades.

McCain or Mrs. Clinton are far from perfect and either one will probably be measured by history as only a mediocre President; but Obama has all the earmarks of a disaster waiting to happen. If elected, we can only hope that the moderate Dems can exercise some control over him to prevent he and his MoveOn.org and Afro-Centric friends from really screwing things up badly. Hey, a GOP Senate would certainly provide an excellent counterbalance as our forefathers intended; well we can hope - can't we.

Remember Ron Paul's question

Maybe McCain can focus on the economy. He can start by saying how much he likes sunshine. God help us.

Sub-prime Mess
The answer: Stupidity and greed!

If any home buyer thought a 1,200 sq ft house was worth $300,000 - that's stupidity.

If any broker thought a guy with a maxed credit card, a $40,000 a year job would make the payments on a $300,000 hosue - that's greed.

Any banker or investor who would buy a bunch of these sliced and diced mortgages and believe that they are AAA rated - that's both stupidity and greed.

The Election that Became an Abortion
McCain't will never unite the TRUE Conservative base out there because he's no more Conservative than any of the bozos he's up against, and WE ALL KNOW IT EMPHATICALLY! Nominating Condi as his Veep won't fool us either. She's another Bushy DEM-Lite who sold her soul to the Liberals in the State Department who won our government now in DC. This election will go down as the most ignominious for the DEM-Lite GOP because GOP turnout will be abysmal. Most Conservatives have already made up their mind that unless a viable 3rd party candidate comes on the scene, there's no sense in us wasting our precious time voting for three blithering idiot buffoons - all of whom are Washington insiders - S.S.D.D. - not even the first one is a State governor for crying out loud. We the People are so Goddamned tired of this Corporate Control and Usurpation of our government. It is time for 3rd party rule and parliamentary style government in this country. It is the only way We the People can ever take back the insanity that our government has become.

To Sum Up
McLame says he has united the party behind him and that now he can move left and gather the hordes of libs who are just yearning to vote for him. He's wrong on both counts; the party base still hates his guts and the libs think he's a joke. The Losertarians are toying with the notion of nominating Bob Barr. I dont agree with Mr. Barr on a whole lot of issues but I'll be happy to vote for him just to show my contempt for McLame-- who doesnt have a ghost of a chance in November anyway.
Look at the comments on this thread the few who speak up for McLame only have the weak argument that Hillary or Obama are worse. Of course, McLame himself doesnt say that, he intends to run a 'civilized' campaign against these left-wing locusts who plot to destroy our country.

A New Generation is Coming Forth
that is sick and tired of DC HYPOCRISY and the anti-Constitutional, un-American, TREASONOUS, arrogant, above-the-law, scofflaw, criminal scumbag LAWYERS that are running OUR NATION off a cliff financially and politically with runaway spending of OUR MONEY and runaway corruption born of their lawyerly schemes to remain out of prosecutorial jurisdiction. It is the same generation that is sick and tired of the hypocrisy in today's DEAD CHRISTIAN CHURCH that purports to believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, yet conveniently never mentions the gifts of the Spirit in their Sunday sermons or even BELIEVES in the gifts of the Spirit. It is the same generation that is sick of the hypocrisy of so many Christians who carry their Bible to church with them, but don't believe in ANY of the gifts of the Spirit. America is on the verge of REVOLUTION!!! It will affect ALL ASPECTS of the NATION! DC will roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember John McCain?
Yeah, I remember. Single-handedly tried to destroy the tobacco industry in the tune of $516 billion dollars in threaten penalties, which turned out to be no more than extortion, not unlike Jesse Jackson's extortionary tactics against companies. Led the fight against gun shows. Teamed with Ted Kennedy(D) to get amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens, with no promise to stop further illegal immigration. Want to give full social security benefits to the same illegals. Teamed with Russ Feingold(D) to stifle political speech prior to elections. Considered switching to the Democrat Party because the Republican Party is too conservative. Called Justice Samuel Alito too conservative during his confirmation hearings. Considered being VP on the John Kerry(D) presidential ticket. Called conservatives "agents of intolerance". Recently said he agrees with Al Gore on global warming, and that the US must sacrifice its economy to appease the international community.

Vote for ANYBODY but McCain!

"After all, there is so little practical difference between the three puppets"

If you are not intelligent enough to see the difference between these three candidates, then don't vote.

Perhaps you're happier living the consequence free life-style at the expense of others.
