Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

"I was deeply involved in the Irish peace process"

Those words were uttered by Hillary Clinton — with a straight face!

Ever since she began her campaign for the presidency, Hillary and Bill Clinton have both boldly — and falsely — claimed that she played an important role in the Irish peace process. Suddenly rewriting history, they’ve claimed that her success in bringing peace to Ireland is all part of the vast experience that makes her qualified for the White House.

It’s funny that they both forgot to mention her magical diplomatic skills in their respective memoirs.

But now her recently released White House schedules show that Hillary’s assertions are one big fantasy. Hillary’s role in all of the Irish visits were no different than any other first ladies, the ones who didn’t think that accompanying the president to a foreign country was a major diplomatic coup.

The daily schedules show that Hillary visited Ireland on numerous occasions with the President. For the most part, her role was to stand next to him, shake hands, and occasionally introduce him before he gave a speech. Sometimes, she met with women’s and children’s groups.

For example, on a trip to Ireland in late November and early December in 1995, she attended the speech given by the president in Derry, Northern Ireland. Her role: to shake hands after the speech. Later that day, the first couple traveled to Belfast, where they lit the Christmas tree outside of City Hall. After the Lord Mayor announced the winners of the annual "letter writing and poster contest," Hillary read excerpts from the children’s letters.

When the Clintons flew to Dublin the next day, Mrs. Clinton toured the National Gallery, where she signed the guest book. In the afternoon, she did give a 25 minute speech to about 350 women from all over Ireland. This meeting seems to be at the heart of her exaggerated contentions that she helped the peace process by bringing both sides together. But published reports indicate that the women advocating peace in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic were well known to each other long before the meeting. And a 25 minute speech outside of government channels was hardly the cause of the end of a bitterness that began almost a hundred years ago. Immediately afterwards, she introduced the president to a crowd of 30,000 people at Trinity College, where he spoke to the Irish people .

In 1997, she participated in a roundtable discussion with students in Northern Ireland and met with representatives of various Youth Councils.

In September 1998, she accompanied the president when he made a speech to the people of Northern Ireland. Noble Peace Price Laureate David Trimbell was present. He recently had this to say about Hillary’s role in the peace process:

“Hillary Clinton had no direct role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland and is a "wee bit silly" for exaggerating the part she played.”

He continued:

"I don’t know there was much she did apart from accompanying Bill [Clinton] going around," Her recent statements about being deeply involved were merely "the sort of thing people put in their canvassing leaflets" during elections. "She visited when things were happening, saw what was going on, she can certainly say it was part of her experience. I don’t want to rain on the thing for her but being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player.”

When the President of Ireland, Mary Robinson, visited the White House, Hillary was not invited to her Oval Office meeting with the president. Instead, she hosted an informal coffee for Mr. Robinson.

How could they discuss important peace matters without Hillary?

On another trip, in October 1999, when she was already a Senate candidate, Hillary gave a Millenium Speech in Galway.

In January 1999, she did a "drop-by" for 15 minutes to say hello to women from Northern Ireland. Later, in June, she did another 15 minute "drop-by" to see the Children’s Friendship Project of Northern Ireland.

After she was elected to the Senate, in December 2000, she attended a reception in Dublin for prominent Irish women, visited the Guinness Store, and the Belfast Opera. She made some short remarks at the Opera.

On October 24, 1997, Hillary received a briefing on Ireland from a group that included George Mitchell, Larry Butler of the NSC, and Randy Bell, from the Ireland Office of the State Department and members of her staff that was held immediately before meeting with Mary Robinson, then UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. A week later, she went to Ireland for a dinner at Dublin Castle for 22 people, and a roundtable discussion with 10 students.

Does that sound like the schedule of a woman who was instrumental in the Irish peace process?

By the way, even with her limited schedule that did not involve the president, Hillary routinely took five or six of her own staff people on the Irish trips.

But her claim to any role in the Irish peace process is pure fantasy.

We don't have a choice in our Relatives
We don't have a choice in a lot of things Hillary. We do have the choice to honor those we have been connected to or are brought up with. We all know what you and Bill did with your relatives, and what President Carter did with his. And I don't think that was the correct honoring way of handling relatives you don't like or don’t agree with either, or are ashamed of. I think Obama has done the honorable thing in regards to his former pastor.

Hillary and Bill in their behavior towards people are not honoring. It is part of that polarizing atmosphere that they carry with them; it’s some kind of elitist, snobbish, attitude of entitlement. Where we the majority of the American people, in her perception, seems to be the common untutored masses without good understanding, who have to be tricked and cajoled to do what is best for us like some retarded uncooperative child. Even if her best is wrong.

I think we need to respect people even when we don't agree with them, not cast them away, not kill them, not punish them or have them fired. But acknowledge that we don't agree, share our thoughts with them, and then honor each others right to choose their own way and their own president.

I shudder to think what this country will be like if Hillary gets into office with this dishonoring and categorizing which discards the validity of other peoples opinions. It is dictatorial, and if she acts dictatorial now, God help us when she gets into office with unlimited power and with a Congress and House majority of her same party.

Women yes, Hillary no.
I think our country is ready for a women in the highest office in America, but I don't think, that first women should be Hillary. We need a younger women than Hillary to carry that particular torch. Hillary with her past and her old political mentality, is not the one to be the front runner for a woman the White House. She has too much negative history, she doesn't not have respect of the other nations she would have to deal with, and she is too vindictive and devisive. I feel her and Bill have really brought in the polarization that we are now observing here in the the United States and Hillary is perfecting it to a fine art.

Her campaign is...
...based on lies. It is sheer fantasy to fall for her candidacy as anything but more manipulation of 'what is is'! That she is a serious contender, along with a vacuous racist anti-Semite from Chicago via Hawaii simply demonstrates the sorry state of our republic!

She cannot survive honest scrutiny, hence her penchants for 'wee' story telling!

Why tell the truth when she can get a bump in the media for another exaggeration? It always served Slick well. And since the dinosaur media is ever complicit with her lies and deceits she is sucked into the format of her campaign: lie; explain later with another lie.

One woman's truth is another's fantasy
"But her claim to any role in the Irish peace process is pure fantasy."

What claim has Hillary Clinton ever made which turned out to be anything but pure fantasy?

c'mon kent...
HELLARY IN A CHEERLEADER SKIRT?!ha ha ha
Everybody knows the queen -itch doesnt wear skirts! she wouldn't want her "lizzy" female friends to think that she had crossed over to the "i like guys" side!

How true, Taft,
It IS fantasy to state that "hundreds of Palestinians were killed" due to "Bush" initiating a peace process.(As if the poor, beleagured, murderous darlings are NOT actually shooting off rockets into civilian populated areas of Israel daily)

CHEERLEADER
David Trimbell: "...her being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player."
PLEASE, I don't even want to think of looking at her in a cheerleader's skirt!!!

Fantasy
Talk about fantasy, Bush a few months ago started a push for Israeli/Palitinian peace. What happened, hundreds of Palestinians were killed.

well...why not
Believe her? After all....isnt the far right conspiracy lying about monica/billy to this very day?
This ding bat...drank KOOLAID...a long time ago
and her body survived but her brain didnt!

The Churches
The reason people go to religious services is to hear the word of God. Now some churches are political forums. Freedom of religion is a vital part of our democracy, but when the preachers -- of any faith -- become political hacks, it is time to take away their tax exempt status. The defense of people like the liars the Clintons have been proven to be, and the rantings of a pastor who hates America, is very disturbing. As an aside -- people misrepesent thewords of Martin Luther King who said he wanted people judged by their character rather than their color. This is not an endorsement of affirmative action is it?

We want Hellery Goddam Clinton to get
the nomination. Half the democ-rats hate her and will vote against her in the general election. The Hussein O voters will vote against her too.

Just finished reading
Emmett Tyrrell's book about the Clintons. According to his sources she was referred to as Bruno. That sort of fits her. She and Slick have never found anything that is not worth lying about. If her lips are moving, she's lying.

None of this matters
The actual record does not matter. What are the Clintons? Whatever you want them to be; this is just one more suggestion.

Another Obama article
While I am no fan of Hillary Clinton, every article you write is pro-Obama, Dick!

Even the Wright scandal. You wrote one article about it and spun it to reduce the negative effects of Rev. Wright and Obama's association with him.

It's almost like you're trying to audition to be part of Obama's advisory board.

While I usually enjoy your insights, this clear departure from telling it like it is has made me quite dis-interested in your articles.

Can we get the Dick Morris back that we have come to know?

Hillary
Anyone who could possibly pull the handle and vote for Hillary is voting for one of the most corrupt people to become president. Do the research - read all the books about the Clinton duo - Hillary especially - by a number of different authors and then you wonder why anyone with an ounce of sense would consider this woman. The Clinton's will do anything, say anything because they believe the basic citizen is stupid - gullible and we have been. They have committed crimes and yet have gotten by with them all - so far. Obama may have a problem with his hate spewing pastor, but that even pales to the Clinton resume.

jd's handsome son and gf
Right on! Laughter is a powerful weapon. I would love to have someone take that tape of some guy laughing and insert it into the p.a. system at one of her rallies when she makes that or another claim. Or when bo does the same, and it would only be fair if it were done to a republican candidate, but humor is a powerful weapon.

Experience?
This whole 35 years of experience thing is her Al Gore "I helped invent the internet moment". What a phoney.

You forgot the BIG one
Or, maybe HillBilly just hasn't gotten around yet to mentioning how much she's done for Israeli Palestinian peace.

She hugged Suha Arafat after Suha's speech about Israel regularly using mustard gas against protestors in Gaza.

Hillary Hating as a profession?
Dick Morris and anyone he can talk into partnering with him on another "I hate Hillary and here's why" article should wake up to the real opportunity out there...Senator O. Dick's rants against Billary are really getting old and tired....we've all heard it so many times before...
We get it, Dick...you hate the Clintons, so your editorial rants hardly come off as anything more than taking yet another swipe at the same target for the same obviously personal reasons...
Why don't you focus your editorial cannons on Senator O...Do you not see all the baggage he has that is fodder for your talents? At least that would be fresh baggage for your attacks, and he needs to be attacked, in so far as even the rancor of his spiritual mentor and advisor, Rev. Wright, has not really stuck to his teflon aura. We all know that you think Hillary is a great threat to the nation's future....you should take a look at the threat Senator O poses. Be fair to both sides, and train your mighty pen on Barack, and give the Hillary-bashing a rest...it's old news, and most of us out here have heard it more than enough...Hillary may be done anyway, so go after the front-runner.

Nice drop kick, but she is already down.
If you folks are going to hammer the Demos pound on Mr. O.

Hillary's old baggage is not worth your talents. Mr. O is making bagage while he goes. Not so much research needed either.

You could do the world a favor and dig around that Boneheaded Mistake. See the world's only picture of a Bonehead Mistake on the front page of MyManJohn.com

Mr. O slid off the hook too easy while his accomplice awaits his turn in court.

Great article.
Hillary, an empty (pant)suit if there ever was one

No, no, no
You are getting Hillary confused with Gore. He invented water.

Strange
That's odd. The lefty Clintonites who hover around here to attack Morris personally after every article he writes seem to be a bit late to this one . . .

Maybe Hillary better withhold their pay until they get back on the job in a timely manner.

Lies, lies and more lies
How can anyone vote for this Clinton or the other one ever again, when both have proven themselves to be shameless liars. They'll lie about inconsequential things when it isn't even necessary. The big issues concerning the security and welfare of our country makes their tendencies to lie very dangerous indeed. Inconceivable!
