Blacks may doom Barack

Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

In New York, the Rev. Al Sharpton's refusal to follow Rangel in backing Hillary may be emblematic of his willingness to defy the black political machine. But Obama hasn't gone to see Sharpton; he seems to be shying away from an identification with the maverick civil-rights leader that could antagonize white voters.

A lack of black enthusiasm could also damage Obama if he fails to win the nomination and wants the No. 2 spot.

Which he should: The job would give him extra experience and give America four or eight years to get used to a black vice president. He'd emerge as the prohibitive favorite for the nomination in 2012 if Hillary loses this year and in 2016 if she wins.

But Obama will need the organized, vocal support of national black leaders if he's to bargain effectively for the veep spot. Right now, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is probably the frontrunner for the slot. A Clinton administration alum, he's closer to Hillary than is Obama - and attractive to his fellow Latinos.

But if Hillary defeats Obama and African-American leaders demand that he join the ticket to assuage the hard feelings, Sen. Clinton may have no choice but to oblige. The question is: Will the traditional black leadership go to bat for Barack - or is he turning them off by turning away?

I can only assume Mr. Cain (whoever he is) is as dumb as
you are. Virtual witness program, indeed. Where do you
guys come up with these ridiculous ideas?

I would agree that Bill Clinton is a darn good campaigner. I would also agree that there is no doubt whatsoever that he would and will campaign for Hillary. Duh. I am sure that she will ask his opinion on many things. That is not the same thing as "taking orders" from him, by a long shot.

I can only presume that you still live in a world where
men give orders and women obey. Most of us are 50 years
away from that. And Hillary would certainly be included
as is any woman with a paycheck and an ounce of power.

As for your list of powerful Vice Presidents, they were
powerful, but because of who they were before they
became Vice Presidents, not because they were the
President's right hand man. But you are right about Cheney. I forgot about him, I guess, because I like to think of VP's as forces for good, or at least, as a
force that is not evil.

I too don't think that Obama would accept the role. He
stated as much in his first book, though he would not
be the first politician to change his mind, if he did.
But it won't be because Bill won't LET Hillary pick him
(again, I say - get real), but it will be because
either Hillary won't want him or Obama won't want to or
both.(L)."

World, here it is again. We've seen it a hundred times.

Conservatives always head straight for the gutter to practice name calling, and the discredited politics of personal destrucution.

This lowest common denominator, gutter politics requires no further comment.

Bubba in the Senate
Rumor has it, here in the nanny state of New York is that if hill becomes President, bubba gets her seat in the Senate. See, this happy couple isn't going anywhere. Why too much money to be made.
Bonnie-Sweetie, bubba spent his years at Oxford, not inhaling and protesting against his country during Vietnam. So,his distain for our military is well known. And as far as Obama and his "tough" life, from what I understand the fella had it pretty good. I really don't think he had it all that rough. Could be just another urban legand that plays into the MSM.
