Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Earlier this year Dr. Jim Dobson, President of Focus on the Family made news when he announced on “The Dennis Prager Show” that he “cannot and will not vote for Senator John McCain.” Today, on The Dennis Prager Show, the conservative leader changed course and announced his enthusiastic support on the heels of the announcement by Senator McCain of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate.

Dennis Prager: I have a guest here who’s extremely significant in American life, whether you call it American political, certainly American religious life, one of the best known Christians in America— Dr. James Dobson who is president and founder of Focus on the Family…. The last time you were on was a very serious conversation about your feeling at the time that you just couldn’t vote for John McCain, and where do you stand now?

Dr. James Dobson: Well, Dennis, I shared with a colleague just a few minutes ago exactly what you said about the period of time when Ronald Reagan had broken onto the scene and I was in Washington D.C. the day he was inaugurated. That was one of the most exciting days of my life, because everything that we had hoped for and been working for had come to pass. I feel very much that way today. Maybe that’s an overstatement. Maybe time won’t validate it, but this is a very exciting and encouraging day for conservatives and pro-family activists. I am just very, very pleased.

Prager: In light of that, may I infer that when you enter the voting booth—and I am putting you on the spot. I fully acknowledge, and you’re certainly free to say it’s a secret ballot you don’t want to say, but you’re too public to really get away with that, so what’s the story right now?

Dobson: Well, you know I did a radio program about a month ago with Dr. Albert Mohler, and we talked about what was at stake in this election and our concerns about the policies that Barack Obama would implement. The more I hear the more I learn, the more concerned I am, and so on that program Dr. Mohler and I talked about the fact that John McCain is not the perfect candidate. He’s certainly would not be my choice and, for over a year, I did not feel that I could vote for him. But I said in that radio program that “I can’t say it now”—which was then, because I didn’t know who his vice presidential choice would be, and he if would come up with Lieberman or Tom Ridge or somebody like that, we’d be back in a hole again. But I said for the first time “I might, I might.” And some people call that a flip-flop. If they do, so be it. Campaigns are long. You get information. You find out what the choices are. So I’ve been moving in John McCain’s direction. I don’t know if anybody cares, but for me…

Prager: Plenty, plenty of people care and that’s why I am having you on. I care, many people care and you have a lot of followers. You have earned the right to that respect. So are you prepared to say, “Folks, look, given this pick and all I have learned about what would happen with a Democratic victory we have no choice, but to enthusiastically work for the McCain-Palin ticket?”

Dobson: You know, I have only endorsed one presidential candidate in my life and that was George Bush in the second term after I had watched him for four years. I did not do that in his first term. So I’m very reluctant to do that. You marry a politician you can be a widow pretty quickly.

Prager: That’s right.

Dobson: But I can tell you that if I had to go into the studio, I mean the voting booth today, I would pull that lever.

Prager: Well this is a very big deal.

Dobson: And that’s a long way’s from where I told you a year ago.

Prager: No kidding. No kidding. I am honored that you used this show to make that statement.

Dobson: You know, Dennis, the things that concern me about John McCain are still there. I made those comments not just based on emotions, but based on his record and some of the things that took place—embryonic stem cell research, and other things, the campaign finance, and other things. Those are still there. So, there’s still concerns. But I tell you, when I look at the choices that are ahead and what the implications are for this country, and now especially with this selection, with just an outstanding V.P. candidate as a running mate, I tell you what I am relieved and very excited.

Prager: Well, if you’re very excited given your previous reservations then I have to believe, and certainly based on the handful of calls I’ve been able to take the first hour before my “Happiness Hour,” I took the calls and people were so excited, palpably excited. Jim Dobson, and I got to tell you… if your base is energized then that is the biggest nightmare that the left has.

Dobson: I was just with about 300, maybe 400 people in a large auditorium, and they put Sarah Palin’s speech on the screen and we sat there and watched. I’m telling you it was electric. These were conservatives, you know. They were mostly Christian, but not all of them were. I mean to tell you, it set that crowd on fire. If that’s any indication, I think we are going to see some things.

Prager: We sure are. Well, you made my day. I just want you to know that.

Sarah Palin
It takes a village. It looks like the family really bonds together to help out with the baby. Sarah's husband seems pretty qualified to be raising their son. Don't discount the value of a stay at home dad! You can't blame the parents for a 17 year old's lack of responsibility. Will you say the same when your child makes wrong choices? Maybe you should still be home with your children if they are in their teen years when children really need a parent home. Why does everyone discount Palin's qualifications when Obama has no more than her and he's running for President?!

Dems got us in this mess
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5tZc8oH--o

Please pass this video on to all you know. Obama's hypocrisy amazes me more and more everyday.

Sarah Palin
I don't understand Dr. Dobson's enthusism for Mrs. Palin. She hasn't been on the national or even state scene long enough to be tested for the possiblity of having the biggest job in the world, considering John McCain's age and health problems. Also Dr. Dobson has always said that mothers should be home with their children when they are young. As a working mother myself, I took ten years off from my job when they were young,I know that no matter how organized you are there are only 24 hours in a day. I'm afraid someone else will be raising that baby. I also think she bears some responsibility for her daughter's becoming pregnant at 17. It shows a lack of supervision-too much attention to what's going on in her life and not enough to her teenaged daughter. It's nice to say that women can do anything, but when you've got 5 kids from 19 to baby something is going to suffer.

I really don't get it
How many of us are doing better then eight years ago? This current administration has dissolved much of what the government has done to protect us from ourselves. History will not be kind tot he present administration.

Look at the mess. Look at housing. Look at the value of the dollar. Look at the price of gas. Look at our schools. Look at our infrastructure. Much is a mess. Time for a change. I don't know about you but I can't take four more years of the last eight.

McCain/Palin the only REAL choice
The liberals, wild life lovers by human life haters, the enlightened democrats supposedly commenting on Dr.Dobson's reactions are working overtime to show their incredible knowledge of the TRUTH.
Please, save your breath! I am conservative Christian female and I know NOTHING will stop the back bone of America, sport moms and their families, the 40 million real Christian voters from voting for this McCain/Palin ticket on November 4th,2008 or sooner.
We are energized, we love REAL American heroes like McCain and accomplished real feminine leaders like Palin!
Vote McCain/Palin to save America from total disaster!

Doubles match between RNC and DNC
It would be great if all four appear together in a debate.

Liberal Talking Points
To those with a modicum of common sense and a willingness/capability to perform critical thinking I apologize. To those such as "Lady" in Indiana I suggest that she attempt to acquire these capabilities. One more comment about record oil prices and I'll spew. I am not a fan of the oil companies, but does she and others like her know what the actual profit margin of Exxon Mobil and others of the same ilk are (hint it is approximately 10%.... less than many other large North American companies in other industries) and a fraction of the profits that the government makes from taxing energy..... if you are going to participate in the political process, please educate yourself beyond simply repeating simplistic talking points. That way you may just add a touch of credibility to your arguements.

Gov. Palin and aerial shooting of wolves
Gov. Palin's position is called pro life but it is more accurate to say she is Pro "some" life. She supports the aerial shooting of wolves and bears and their young.

For those who have not seen this barbaric practice supported by Gov. Palin I suggest you view https://secure.defenders.org/site/SPageServer?pagename=c40 6_090308palinwolf&JServSessionIdr012=znhlmdj2q5.app20a

Governor Palin has…

Proposed paying a $150 bounty for the left foreleg of each dead wolf.
Approved a $400,000 state-funded propaganda campaign to promote aerial hunting.
Introduced legislation to make it even easier to use aircraft to hunt wolves and bears.

I cannot support any candidate that has so little regard for wildlife.

Clearly God is on your side
and Dobson is His spokesman. Good heavens,
why didn't you just kiss the guy's behind and
be done with it. Did you have to do all that
slobbering also?

But what can I say. God has spoken. The
hurricane was just light enough to be manageable
with no broken dikes but heavy enough to keep
Bush/Cheney away from the Republican Convention.
Talk about manna from heaven.

truetolife
Oh, aren't you cute. Maybe it was late; maybe I was drunk or something. Maybe I was playing with my mommie's computer. Maybe I'm a product of a public school (you got that one right). I'm also a product of two state universities and one private college for my three degrees.

As for my comprehension of economics,it is obviously greater than yours, if you believe that the Republican party provides a
better economy than does the Democratic Party. The Democrats have beaten the pants off the Republicans in that area for most of the last 50 years.

Now about PRO-Life. I am sure that you feel
morally superior for your stance on life.
All pro-lifers do. I am completely unimpressed
unless you also happen to be one of those who care for the fetuses all through their life. What I have discovered on Town Hall and elsewhere, that support tends to end at life.
Pro-lifers tend to also be pro-execution, pro-long term prison terms, anti-welfare. Pro-moralizing, Anti-compassion.

Approximately 75% of people in prison have been
abused as children. The figures are even higher for prostitutes. I have never believed that we are doing any child a favor by bringing
it into the world. If we want that child, we hope to do our best by it. But giving birth is a selfish act. We are attempting to
satisfy our own needs. And if that child is not wanted by its parents, it borders
on the criminal, both figuratively and later on often literally to bring it into this world.

Furthermore, if a fetus does have an unalienable (i.e., God-given) right to life, it
will have life. The mother is only deciding whether the fetus will be born to
her, not whether it will be born.

Kudos to McCain for VP pick
I am so happy that McCain has picked Palin as his VP!!! She has lots of executive experience as the Governor of AK. Plus, she can relate to the concerns of women out there, especially moms. As an Alaskan, I have been able to watch her performance over the last few years as Governor, and I can tell you that she is SOLID GOLD. She isn't afraid to take a bipartisan stand on the issues when she needs to, or to challenge the inconsistencies and failures in her own party. She has done an incredible job with cleaning up Alaska's government, and I am sure that she will do the same as VP in Washington. One of Sarah's best qualities is her SINCERITY on the issues. When she says she'll do something, she WILL follow through. She's definitely a good complement to McCain's "straight talk." To me, the choice this November is only too obvious - vote McCain/Palin for a fresh start, and a prosperous future!

Saddened by the Weak-minded
Have u all missed it - have u totally missed the punchline. McCain's entire angle has been EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE especially in the area of foreign affairs and homeland security to which, undoubtably he has that in the bag over Senator Obama. I have not heard a Republican supporter thus far give substantial fact or evidence that solidifies Governor Palin possessing any of these qualities. You Repugnican hypocrits say, "Well she has far more experience than that of Barack Obama. How bout I don't take the time to illustrate the non-factual implication in that and move abruptly to the point which is: How can you slander a man for not having experience to lead America from day 1 yet you give Kuddos to McCain for leaving the business and security of America (if God forbid, he becomes unable - which going by his age and past medical condition one would determine that the probability is higher for that to happen to McCain than Obama) to Palin who's only foreign policy or commanding experience is leading the Alaskan national guard or serving as an executive for over ten years to a staff of 50. But now you clearly mentally slow Americans are ok with her taking over in his place. She never left the country until recently, her supporting party on CNN gave support to her preparation for the job on how she sold a jet on Ebay - the other Republican supporter couldn't give Campbell from CNN one clear instance to which she gave a command that had a substantial impact, and when asked was this the best choice in the Repgunican party that McCain could have chosen, the question repeated 7 times, no one could give a clear YES...are you guys that DUMB, that SLOW, that Weak that u completely ignore that this is so hypocrital to the foundation of the Repugnican angle. And we wonder why our surrounding countries shake there heads at us and take us for granted. Sad, so sad and Pathetic.....

SavetheGuns.com
Do you do anything else with your time besides
play with your guns?

Jack
Let's get serious here for a minute. You were
never going to vote for Obama. Period. He is
a Democrat. You are not. But you could post
that for any candidate in the world if you had
such a mind to.

Why don't you put some specifics in there.

Let me tell you why I am voting for him. Because he is a good and honorable man. Because he espouses those things which I espouse. because he will not be more of the
same that we have had these past 8 years.

For sake of space, let me just speak to taxes.
I will give you "a tax code that doesn't reward the lobbyists...I will stop giving tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas....I
will cut taxes for 95% of all working families."

And most importantly, "I am my brothers' Keeper." That is my motto as a Christian and
a political person. I could not ask for a
better model.

rich
A few posts ago, you said that Sarah Palin and I quote "...has a baby with an abnormality..."

Thank you very much for this comment. Now I know perfectly well why God doesn't give everyone a special needs child.

I have a sixteen year old son who still does not speak at all, has no fine motor skills, cannot draw a simple shape and will be supported entirely by State and Federal funding until the day he dies.

Your comment seems to insinuate that because she has a child that's perhaps not as perfect as yourself, that she's officially and unequivocly unqualified for public office.

You're officially and unequivocly an @$$#07&

Govrnor Palin is Morally Straight
Obama is Morally Repugnant

I don't believe Obama because he changes his stated views to fit the political weather.
I don't trust Obama because he has no credability after retracting virtually everything said at the beginning of the campaign trail.
I don't like Obama's lies about who he and his wif are at heart.
I don't like Obama's racist attitudes, race card and distain for other races.
I don't like Obama's cold and calculating demeanor.
I don't listen to Obama's rhetoric because he offers false hope and doesn't speak his own true words.
I also believe that Obama is very dangerous and will follow in the far left Carter MOS after the election.

Lack of moral, identity and ethical confusion is the one thing that insures I will be voting for McCain-Palin. The choice is clear in my mind.

joe
Thank you for the English lesson. You must be a genius.

As to the election, it's like watching Michigan playing Ohio State. It is fun to watch because one of them has to lose.

The primary thing I notice..
about the postings here - the absolutely appalling spelling and grammar.

Please. Find out the different uses of the words "your" and "you're".

If you're going to support or bad-mouth a candidate, please learn how to spell her name.

The word is "hypocrite".

If this is intelligent discourse, no wonder we've had eight years of "leadership" by a man with a room-temperature IQ.

sarah palin
If there was ever a time to call you people idiots this is definitely it. You are quick to jump on a bandwagon because another idiot wants to support this woman. Realize this, mccain picked her in hopes of collecting the pantsuits that supported hillary clinton. This mother of five(maybe 4 because one actually might not be hers) is nothing more than a pawn. No one wants to support the republicans, now they are completely washed up. Real women see right through this foolishness. Even her own mother-inlaw doesn`t want to vote for her. She is an amateur at best. She has no foreign policy experience what so ever. The only thing mccain is thinking of is when he gets to sample her tired behind.Watch out cindy theres competition. She hasn`t even been to an ivy league school, has a baby with an abnormality and puts poilitics first. What kind of mother is that.On top of all that shes involved with a scandal with abuse of power. George Bush and cheney is looking for any excuse not to attend the convention right along with other governors like schwarzenegger.Wake up people stop falling for the okey-doke.Mccain thought that this would blow the wind out of the sail of the democratic convention, when all he did was hand the election to Obama giftwrapped. There isn`t a smarter candidate than Obama,no one has more backing than obama, the kennedys, the clintons and a host of americas wealthiest people support him. Now i am going to do the same because mccain only wants to play politics and stooped lower than i thought he already was to try to win!Hell even mccains own relatives won`t vote for him what does that tell you people, stick a fork in him hes done. He picked a loser and it will come out.

When will you mindless dolts learn?
Kevvie-boy,

McCain is almost an opposite of Bush. He was in the Senate for 37 years and for the last 12 he's been backstabbing conservatives and his own party. THAT'S why he was the lib-trolls favorite Republican and they called him the "maverick".

He wrote McCain-Foolsgold which was an ASSAULT on free speech and the libs LOVED it. Why? He was sulking because the NRA went after him in the days leading up to and after another idiot gun control bill was debated.
He didn't WANT to be criticized by his own constituents. A liberal trait.

He was FORCED on us by you orcs in NH when tens of thousands of out of staters were bused in to vote for him over Romney whom the libs REALLY feared. He'll win but Romney/Santorum or Romney/Palin would have been a Reaganesque 48 state landslide. Back to Barad-dur with you.

Not Well
Sounds like the GOP is never as united under McBush as I've suspected. S.P. as VP is a give from heaven for the DEMs.

Palin Overshadows McCain.
I thought it was condsidered a big mistake to pick a running mate that completely overshadows you.

This might backfire on McCain and amplify the fact that he isn't what the base wants but his running mate is. People don't and shouldn't vote for a running mate.

Conservatives need to demand that McCain step down at the convention.

Bigots and Racist
Sandy,

You're right, most of "us" on this website are not going to vote for the magic negro because most of you are bigots and racist. You may have to move to the Netherlands very soon. American is turning brown and blond hair and blue eyes are the "weaker" genes when mixed with black hair and brown eyes. Time to pack up your bags and say bye, bye. Bye bye now.

Well, Dobson ain't gonna vote for anyone
..else now...is he???
All this jockeying around and there are still some jerks on this thread who THINK they have any other option.
Get used to it...it is McCain or..or..or..Obama....
And we all know most of us are not voting for the magic negro....

GOP is about 25 yrs late
Been there, done that! The GOP are about 25 yrs. late. The Dems already did this with Mondale/ferraro. She's a TOKEN pick just like Clarance Thomas. If you're looking for a role model for your daughters, there's a lot more out there than the 20 months mayor of Alaska.

With PRO-LIFE Palin...
on the ticket, I will enthusiastically vote for McCain/Palin.

It is a historic ticket and I will be proud - as a father of two daughters - to help elect the first woman vice-president of the United States of America.

Dobson is a Phony
Jim Dobson is a liar and a Phony. His "foundation" has been supporting every GOP candidate since its founding in '77. He's also a hypocrite. His "foundation" gave Hillary a lot of flack in '93 questioning if she's woman enough. If the core value of his foundation is the family, why doesn't he raise question about how S.Paltin is going to balance the damn of VP/Prez (if McBush Croaks in office) with the special needs of her young family. Maybe we should all question Mr. Palin's materity instinct while s.Palin is away on VP business. Who's going to be watching the boy while she's attending funerals of world leaders?

News Flash, News Flash:
God has a sense of humor and he's not a GOP. How else can you explain Gustav. Remember a few weeks ago when one of Dobson's nitwit (Staurt Shepard) asked Christains to pray for rain during Obama's acceptance speech? This is what happens when idiots like Dobson and his cronies think they have a phone line to God. Becareful for what you pray for.

Dr. James Dobson
I am very glad Dr. Dobson has spoken of his support for Governor Sarah Palin because he is an important man that hundreds of people respect and listen to. I have been impressed with Governor Palin for several months and I think it would surprise people if they knew how many people have already known about her.
Friday, August 29, 2008 was a wonderful day for America. I felt God had decided to bless us and heal our land. Now, if we will continue to look to Him, continue to repent and obey His commandments, He will continue to bless America and heal our land.

?????
I would, does not sound like I will, unless you make some approximations.Did they give Pastor Dobson his last installment?

OMG! Barracuda attack in progress!!!!!
WAIT till she sinks her sharp little teeth in Dopey Joe's fat tucchis!!! Can't wait for the Veep debate.

Where is the outcry, McCain step down???
A RUNNING MATE????

The best running mate in the world means nothing if your candidate stinks.

The cry for conservatives to wake up is constantly ignored. I guess we will see what they have to say after a crushing loss in november.

PALIN ENERGIZES THE CONSERVATIVE BASE
I, for one,am sooooo excited about McCain choosing Palin as his VP! I believe in EVERYTHING she stands for. I don't care if she doesn't have foreign policy experience. She has as much foreign policy experience as Obama, and she's the VP candidate. He was a Senator for only 143 days before he announced as a candidate for President. As one person said, "I've had stuff in my refrigerator longer than that." Also, anyone that votes three times against a bill that would have protected babies born alive from a botched abortion is NO Christian. I don't care what he says. When McCain said emphatically "Life begins at conception" at the Saddleback forum, "he had me at hello." GO MCCAIN-PALIN!

Elvis as I predicted
.it wasnt WIllard...
lol

Robert

Hal...the metric that says you dont
know what you are talking about is when you keep harping on McCain's age.

that is way beneath you, but is what folks do when the facts dont favor them.

Just watch. Sarah Palin will kick the stuffings out of pompous Joe...

and McCain/Palin will as I have predicted for quite a while beat BHO.

remember...I have predicted more correctly then you have...it is something that annoys the red meat righties as well.

Palin
It was an exciting but strategically poor choice by McCain. McCain had the natural advantage over Obama on the issue of experience, while Obama had the natural advantage on the issue of change. By picking Palin, McCain virtually eliminated his natural advantage and redefined his ticket about one of change, which is where Obama is strongest. He also hitched his wagon to her fate. That is a major risk to adopt. This I believe offsets andy potential advantage she brings with the base and women.

It also wasn't a presidential pick which is important to independents. It doesn't show leadership, it shows political calculation. It reminds me of when Burger King rolled out "The King" to counter Ronald McDonald. It's just silly. He may get some news cycle out of this, but in the end he's diminished his brand and advantage. Not smart.

He should have picked Romney.

teach them to fish...
And how much time is she now going to spend w/her kids ...especially the 5th one that she bravely bore?
This selection is more about McCain than Palin

palins foeign poilcy problem?
good morning everybody!

The answer to the Sara Palin foreign experience problem is obviously simple. It is same solution that the dems used for Barry Hussien Obama, select a veep with foreign policy experience.

While that's not saying Sen Biden actually knows much, but he is a reassurance placed becaus one was needed. And if, God forbid, anything were to happen to Sen McCain, all Gov. Palin would have to do is...thats right, select a Veep with strong credentials in foreign policy PERIOD DOT BINGO!

The dems are making a huge issue about something that might happen i.e. Palin's problem with something that will happen i.e. barrys problem. Which they solved by picking biden. its so obvious.

ValiantForTruth
Excellent as always.

Your thoughts on Palin for VP?

Daniel 5:21; Romans 13:1

Dobson's Common Sense
Enough Said.

Dr. Dobson: Isn't she wonderful?

As Dr. Dobson knows, it's all about the Family. Sarah is extraordinarily qualified to be President of the United States of America.

Nor is it just her fantastic Resume.

It's the integrity behind the piece of paper.

This woman has Integrity, Courage, Honesty, Prudence, Justice and Fortitude.

You add Faith, Hope and Love--and you've got a future President Sarah Palin. (Isn't the alliteration nice?) The "nice touches" have only just begun.

The Refreshingly Normal, SARAH PALIN
It's ironic that the liberal "progressives" (read: heathens) that make up the Democrat party and the Obamanation they seek to make of our society, has caused them to be so far left that "normal" has become alien to them.

What is even more ironic is their failure to realize that most Americans, when faced with a clear choice, will be more inclined to satisfy their desires for "hope and change" in an appeal made to a celebration of traditional values, as represented by a return to "normalcy," than they will to the class, race & gender warfare being served up on the Democrat political platform.

Glorying in their confidence over what they thought would be a sure victory over those of us "clinging to their guns and religion," what the Democrats didn't count on, was that any choice for "change" would be offered outside of Obamanation.

"Pride goeth before destruction and an haughty spirit before the fall!"--Proverbs 16:8

Conservative?
What makes a conservative today as opposed to days gone by? We've lost our "Focus on the Family". How can a man (or woman) claim to be a Christian (or worse, a Christian leader) and lead people astray? The Bible is painfully clear what a woman's role is in society. How can a Christian "pull the lever" and vote against the "Word of God"? Has God ever commanded us to compromise with the world, in order to bring about some "greater good"? No, in fact He said the world would hate us for what we believe, just as I am sure I have stirred some hatred for these posted remarks. But I take comfort in the fact that the world "hated Him before it hated me".

I am, I will, I have not
As brilliant as the speech was, Barack will not get my vote and this is why;
Barack does not demonstrate a moral aptitude that I can believe in, he does not have a tested track record of experience that I can believe in, I do not believe Barack Obama will stand strong against Russia when they threaten to use nuclear weapons against Poland because of the installation of the American defense system. I heard his speech … I heard him say I am, I will, but not I HAVE. He says that he has the ability to make proper judgment calls, but John McCain made the ultimate selfless decision that demonstrates a great moral aptitude that I can believe in. John McCain has been tested and he passed with great patriotic fervor. I am talking about his decision to remain a POW when he was offered an early release, he remained true to the military code of conduct that says the earlier POW should be released before himself. He chose to continue enduring further torture while another soldier was released. John McCain’s moral aptitude was tested and he passed with flying patriotic colors! Sara Palin has also past the Moral Aptitude test. She made a moral decision to give birth to her fifth child even after she new that Trig had downs syndrome.

dobson...pull the lever?!
Where is he voting in the LITTLE HOUSE IN THE

I have not seen a lever since ,let me see......

GTJOHNS - You assume
that all relevant experience is gained in Washington.

In this election everyone is promising to change the government. Sarah Palin is the only candidate who has actually done it. So I would say she is the most qualified.

Obama and Biden owe us all an explanation as to HOW they will accomplish their change, as they've never done it before.

Anchorage Daily News
It's stunning that someone with so little national and international experience might be heartbeat away from the presidency.
Gov. Palin is a classic Alaska story. She is an example of the opportunity our state offers to those with talent, initiative and determination...

McCain picked Palin despite a recent blemish on her ethically pure resume. While she was governor, members of her family and staff tried to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the Alaska State Troopers. Her public safety commissioner would not do so; she forced him out, supposedly for other reasons. While she runs for vice-president, the Legislature has an investigator on the case.

For all those advantages, Palin joins the ticket with one huge weakness: She's a total beginner on national and international issues.

Gov. Palin will have to spend the next two months convincing Americans that she's ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency....

Hey Garryg: BECAUSE DOBSON WAS ASKED!

Had Dobson not been asked, he wouldn't be involved.

As for "pests" they would be people who post inane statements and questions because they're either ill informed or uninformed.

Could care less!
I will certainly vote for McCain/Palin in spite of Dobson's endorsement. Why can't these religious nuts just stay out of the fray? What a bunch of pests!

Changing one's mind.
I, too, have changed my mind regarding voting for McCain after he chose Palin as his VP running mate. However, I would strongly urge him to promise in his acceptance speech at the Convention to serve only one term!

Elko: Heart warming story about Ray.

But, not uncommon.

Over the years I've heard several similar accounts from friends who were blessed with a Downs Syndrome child, or knew others who were blessed with a Downs Syndrome child.

And bar none, each and every family KNEW they were BLESSED with their child. (And you'd take your own life in your hands to challenge them about being BLESSED!)

I also have a friend who is a "ba-rill-iant" mathematician (and with my mathematical aptitude, I'm not quite sure why we're friends, ha ha) who had a child who, as it turned out, actually had serious learning problems with "math."

She laughs now, talking about the "problems" she encountered with her son's learning disabilities, because she soon realized that the "problems" were HERS, not her son's. And she will tell you on no uncertain terms that her son was blessing... a gift, who taught her more than anything or anyone on earth.

There is no question in my mind that people who cannot or do not see that these children are truly blessing and gifts, are without question, disadvantaged themselves.

nmi, do you think that...
it would be impossible to cradle and comfort a child in your arms and talk on the phone at the same time? If you are a woman you should know that we are multi-taskers.....not to mention the child has two loving and attentive parents.

To Mike:
That kid had more character, common decency and better priorities than all the screaming PeTA freaks trying to shut down pet shops claiming they're "all" just "puppy mills". He also had more compassion and was better grounded than a lot of "normal" people I know.

The one thing that made him happiest in life was to place a puppy or kitten with a good family. He excelled at that. He had a good innate sense of who did and didn't deserve to have that animal. After a while nobody would question his judgemnt on that.

So.....Dennis,.....???
I happened to hear your radio broadcast one day recently.. heard you say that you are so excited that an African is a nominee for President. You went on to say that you were hoping that an African would be voted into the White House.
Dennis....???? So am I to assume that you have been tuning in to watch Chris and Keith on msnbc to get your daily dose of non-biased reporting. Dennis.....?????

Humans...any other species would have been put to sleep by now.

Down's people are human beings, not casualties. The story you've given us touched me. Thanks.

Rationalizations for Obama

The complex process the human mind uses to arrive at decision-making has been the topic of many volumes.

One consensus that is generally held is the human mind can justify any decision and any action that it takes.

Rationalization is the mortal enemy of facts, logic and reason.

Rationalization is in ‘simple’ terms, a defense mechanism that attempts to explain bad decisions or behavior in a rational logical manner.

Rationalizing that a vote for any candidate that cannot win is not a vote for Obama gives us a prime example of rationalization.

Rationalizing that a ‘symbolic’ vote will teach the major parties a lesson contrasts the reality of their premise that the major parties ‘do not know what they are doing’ and ‘haven’t learned from the past’.

Teaching 'Politicians' a lesson is oxymoronic at best - Obama-Followers will vote for Obama regardless.

Third party votes at this time in history, is simply a 'proxy' vote for Obama that gives one a feeling of 'superior' Patriotism, I guess.

Rationalizing that ones closely held principles trump the safety and wellfare of America and its citizens is little different from those who want America destroyed.

Those who say we need to return to the Constitution that many Americans have left or attempted to destroy will be best accomplished by giving Obama and Liberals their desires and wishes to control America, is akin to giving children matches and gasoline.

The children will surely learn a lesson if survival succeeds in overcoming the odds.

Rationalizers - What exactly is your 'Recovery Plan'?

Rationalizing that an Obama presidency will be good for America in the long run defies facts, logic and reason.

A Personal Note About
a human being with Down's Syndrome. As a teen I worked for a time in a mines in Nevada. That mine, to its credit, hired a grown man with Down's Syndrome who was so severely challenged he was unable to speak, though he could understand what he was told. Management put him to work cleaning up the area. He swept floors, cleaned windows, and cleaned the rest rooms.

If you haven't worked in a mine and seen the lavatories there ... well let's just say the normal one keeps the rats away. Ray was his name and he kept the place, including rest rooms, unbelievably clean. He was happy to have that job and worked hard at it. Ray always had a smile on his face and he was liked by everyone there. He was one of the happiest people I've ever met.

I was blessed to know that man and praise his parents (I never met them) for accepting the challenge of raising him. So don't tell me that such people have no value and should be aborted. Don't even try to tell me that they have no worth. I know better.

Sarah Palin's Resume Demystified
1. Barbara Boxer blasted her so she's lost the vote of the feminazi NOW.
2. She supports the war in Iraq, so she's lost the vote of the Pink Lady's
3. Her favorite dish is moose stew, so she's lost the vote of PETA.
4. She supports drilling, so she's lost the environmental vote.
5. She knows that marriage is between a man and a woman, so she's lost the gay vote.
6. She's a tax cutter so she's lost the socialist vote
7. She's fought corrupt officials within her own party, so she's lost the vote of the chattering political class.
8. She opposes abortion, so she's lost the vote of NARAL.
9. She believes judges should rule on the law and not make it, so she's lost the vote of the left wingnut activists.
10. She's a REAL American, so she's lost the vote of the MSM and the Hollywood elitists.

There you have it, 10 reasons Sarah has a solid resume. Remember a vote for McCain is a vote for Sarah Palin. So that's 10 good reasons to vote for McCain.

The trolls come out to play
You can tell the liberal trolls are incensed about the selection of Sarah palin for Vice Presidential candidate for the GOP. Just reading their rants here tell me that McCain hit one out of the park.

As a retiree of the US Air Force, I had difficulty accepting McCain as the GOP nominee. It wasn't until he selected Palin that I finally decided he will get my vote. I was planning to vote for all offices except president if he had selected Ridge, or God forbid, Leiberman!

As for the liberal trolls, they can go to Hades. The only time the liberal feministas would be happy with a female candidate is if she was a baby killing "pro-choicer." The only time the blacks would be happy with a black candidate is if the person was a democrat. On both counts, liberals will only select a plantation slave. They will never select someone who doesn't believe in affirmative action and baby killing. Uncle Toms and Aunt Tams need not apply.

Only Hillary can crack the glass ceiling. Only Obama can be a viable black. Mike Steele is not a true black, and Sarah Palin is not a true woman, accordi
