Liberals Don't Ask "What Happens Next?"

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

What would the Kyoto Protocols do to the American and world economies?

As noted by the internationally respected Danish environmentalist Professor Bjorn Lomborg, the economic price America would pay if it abided by the Kyoto Protocols on carbon emissions would catastrophically impact the American -- and therefore world -- economy. Moreover, abiding by the Protocols would have a negligible effect on carbon emissions and global warming. But the Left has embraced global warming hysteria. And hysteria it is -- according to the latest UN report, for example, the potential ocean level increase due to global warming is 1 foot, not the 20 feet of Al Gore's documentary on global warming and lower than the 1.5 feet projected in the previous UN report.

Would withdrawal from Iraq increase or decrease human suffering?

Left-wing "peace activists" do not seem to concern themselves with the question of what happens if their policies are enacted and America leaves Iraq. But those of us who are concerned with this question are certain that war and murder, torture and rape of the innocent will increase. That is why "peace activist" is usually a misnomer. They usually bring war, not peace.

Does nationalized health insurance work?

Press reports and formal studies about Canada's and Britain's health care strongly suggest that those nationalized health care systems provide increasingly poor care to their nations' citizens. But for those on the Left who want nationalized health insurance to come to America, Sweden is the preferred model, as if a relatively tiny, homogeneous, nearly all-middle-class country provides a more effective model than Canada or the United Kingdom.

In the view of many liberals, "What happens next?" is a pragmatic, but not idealistic, question by which to guide social policy. In fact, however, no question is as idealistic as "What happens next?" Asking it means that social policy is made by noble and compassionate minds, not hearts alone. In the rest of life, thinking through the consequences of actions is called "responsible" and "mature." Those remain worthy goals in public life as well.

Republic VS Democracy
This subject would seem to be a non sequitor to most contemporary Americans on both sides of the artificial dichotomy fence. There are two possible choices when you vote.
One is Republicrat
The other is not mentioned
As for forms of government, yes it is true that there is a very different agenda in Republican form of Government VS Democracy ,but it would seem that the tendency is to slide into the mob rule phase, as happened in Ancient Greece and I think Rome as well
There is another alternative as we had in the High Middle Ages, and it is called Monarchy.
Of course in our New speak generation, that is a buzz word for oppression and tyranny, but I beg to differ.
At least Republicanism holds to a rule of Law and can demonstrate some faint resemblance to Christian Monarchy. Our President is a sort of King, "with his wings clipped".
One of the few apologetics for Monarchy that is generally available is by Bishop Bossuet who lived in France just prior to the 1789 Revolution. He does present some fairly good arguments.

Liberal/Democrat traits
Short sightedness is not the only classic behavior shared by liberals and alcoholic/addicts. Projection- responding to criticism with criticism (even if they have to make it up) of someone they secretly look up to, Rationalize and Justify- trying to explain how disastrous choices were unavoidable or not even poor choices, Selfishness- wanting other people to do the work necessary for their own welfare, Denial- pretending things are not as they really are so they can continue their bad habits, Grandiose - believing they can do what they say others better not do, I Want What I Want When I Want It- obviously a self destructive behavior, Blaming their problems on others, Thinking they can do the same thing with different results than every time before, as a matter of fact, I cannot think of a single addictive trait not demonstrated by most every liberal I can think of. What is it that these behaviors lead to again? Jail(slavery) or death.
