Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

ST. PAUL -- "The Republican Party will not stand by while Gov. (Sarah) Palin is subjected to sexist attacks," Carly Fiorina, the former head of Hewlett-Packard and constant McCain booster, told a press conference at the Republican National Convention Wednesday. "I don't believe American women are going to stand for it either."

Flanked by a cadre of GOP women, Fiorina observed that "every one of us" has been dismissed as "a show horse not a workhorse."

Whoa, Nellie.

Has there been sexism in the coverage of McCain's choice of running mate? Absolutely. Newspapers would never run stories asking whether a father can fulfill his parental and official duties as vice president. And the scrutiny of Palin's hair has been far more severe than that of Joe Biden's reputed hair plugs.

That said, the Palin pile-on is the result of much more than sexism. The political press corps' lack of familiarity with Palin, the liberal bent endemic to this profession, the sheer surprise that Palin was McCain's pick, the public's curiosity about the political newcomer, the fact that 15,000 journalists were eager to write compelling copy -- all of these were contributing factors.

Like much in life, the reaction to Palin is complicated. To attribute the whole can of worms to sexism is a mistake. The GOP is not the victimhood party; it is not the party of grievances, but the party of overcoming grievances. It's the party that can boast, as Palin did Wednesday night, "Do you know the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

At the Fiorina-led press conference, Camp McCain came perilously close to crossing the line into the land of whining and recriminations. The land of losers.

It's one thing to be justifiably angry, it's another to be self-destructive.

Or as Palin herself told Newsweek in response to Team Hillary's charges of sexist media coverage, "When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism, or maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, 'Man, that doesn't do us any good, women in politics, or women in general, trying to progress this country.'"

And: "I don't think it bodes well for her, a statement like that."

It dilutes the message.

Thus, it was refreshing to see Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle take on those who argue that governing Alaska is just small change. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani followed by comparing Palin's experience -- deemed insufficient to qualify her as a running mate -- with that of Barack Obama, who began running for the White House after two years in the U.S. Senate.

The discussion had turned to two important functions of a political convention: establishing your bona fides and hitting the other side. Palin explained how she took on her state's big spending; she called Obama a "man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or even a reform, not even in the state Senate."

Now it is time for the GOP to stop licking its wounds and engage in a more detailed engagement on foreign policy, the role of government, and how McCain can strengthen the economy. The biographical information provided Wednesday night was vital, but as Palin herself said, the "presidency is not supposed to be a journey of personal discovery."

I've been about as critical of the media pile-on of Palin as anyone. But I have to say, when the delegates turned to the press stands and booed, it reminded me of the GOP convention in 1992 in Houston, when social conservatives began chanting to the media, "Tell the truth."

Guess what happened that year? President George H.W. Bush lost.

Well...let's see....

After watching her speech the other night....I counted three political uppercuts, two political left hooks, and five political kicks to Nobamas cajoles....talk about coming out swinging?...wow....this woman would be a great-commander-in-chief...she takes no prisoners...

After watching McCain's speech....and him thanking God...yes, libs, I said "God" with a capital "G"....the quote that surprised me was McCain said that conservatives have to go back to the basics....and that is so true.....

The next 60 days or so are going to be a media frenzy on both sides...punch and counter-punch....but what is becoming increasingly clear is that the MSM is pretty much finished as a credible entity.

Sarah is the "X" factor....
Sarah will put McCain over the top (even though I'm not a big McAmnesty fan); he needs to win.

We simply can not let the MSM elect a smooth talking nobody with muslim and communist leanings in his background. Unacceptable.

Liberals Running Scared
The liberals, especially the Democrat lapdogs, the mainstream news media, have been knocked back on their heels because they were surprised by McCain's announcement of Sarah Palin.

They thought they had killed off every possible candidate for the Republican Party, but they find themselves facing another roadblock in Palin. They need to get rid od her,and do it quickly. Therefore, all the negative press she is getting.

If the naysayers were not worried about her as a threat, none of this scurrilous lies and ridicule would not have been necessary. It began as soon as she was announced and will only get worse.

Remember,Bork,Thomas,Gingrich,Allen,'The Macaca Man' and any other Republican who does not fit their profile for socialism/Marxism plan for our future.

Did You HEAR

what happened to NObama this past Thursday morning???

He awakened with a moose's head in his bed!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Now that you admit you love Sarah Palin, have you put your money where your mouth (and heart) are, and sent a check to McCain/Palin? Go to http://www.johnmccain.com

NObama is very flush with cash to slam and slander them in the coming weeks before the election. Do SOMETHING to stop him! Do it NOW!

Older and Wiser,
I did that the day McCain announced Governor Palin as his running mate.

BTW, I like the moose head idea!

Sarah Palin ain't gonna take it

3 Sep, article by Sher Zieve
'Democratic Operatives Vow to Cause Palin to Resign'

If you cannot bring up that site, you might try going to American Daily, and archive her past articles and look for the one 3 Sept.

Be the article true, and I see no reason to doubt it as she has thus far been accurate in her writings, you might get a preview of what Palin is in for.
I think I saw the first shot across the bow on TV this morning with a clip on her sister's ex-husband.. on Fox, I believe it was. (And THAT was peanuts in comparison to some of their own noteworthy 'dirt.')
Washinton's "establishment" is afraid of her.
Rightfully so: she is no lobbyist's spoon fed pet; she doesn't need any political favor for self-advancement or some agenda; she OWES NO POLITICAL FAVORS; there are no 'string's connecting her to "the loop;" she's no one's lap dog or 'gofer,' or puppet. Thus, they don't know what to do with this 'new face in town.'
Congress is rife with politicalism..you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. The same "good ol' boy" system as in any city or town, only on a much larger scale.
Her record in Alaska shows she's not a "good ol' boy." She knows what is RIGHT/WRONG, and
decides to go with the right thing. How many in Washington due you TRULY believe do that, as opposed to what is more 'opportune?"
IF there be a smudge or tint of (what word?)
maybe say 'dirt' they can dig up on Palin, I suggest if the Dems want to dig up good, fertile dirt, they can start in their on front/back yards.
They investigated McCain for LEGAL eligibility for President; HE PASSED. THEY
PASSED OVER OBAMA.. NO 'VETTING,' NO INVESTIGATION OF HIS ELIGIBILITY. How do they explain THAT away?
Good luck on finding the site I mentioned above. VERY INTRIGUING.
GOD bless AND PROTECT McCain and Palin.

MSM Credibility
Hahahahahahahaha. They have no credibility and most in the media are oblivious or don't seem to care. You even have certain people in the MSM say that their job is not to report but to advocate and support. Do what????? News organizations are supposed to report what happened and maybe provide some analysis as to why it happened. They are not supposed to push an agenda. They have lost their way and I don't see any way back.
You go Sarah!

Flim Flam Man
Yes, Clinton won in 1992, but only because Ross Perot was in the race. Any voter with a brain knew Clinton was a flim-flam man, given a free ride by the media. But that was 1992, before so many people had internet access, e-mail, YouTube, etc. It's easier to catch the candidates and media in lies today.

Obama, like Clinton, is a typical flim-flam man. See the comparison at:

http://colony14.net/id33.html

Media bias is extreme
The Lamestream media don't care about sexism or racism in reality. They use those ideas as clubs to advance their liberal agenda, attract women and minorities to their side, and to call all attacks on them racist or sexist. Then they turn right around and mistreat republican blacks like Clarence Thomas and Michael Steele, and republican women like Sarah Palin and Condi Rice. They use gender and racial stereotyping of the worst kind, in addition to attacking their mainstream views as "extreme" or "dangerous."

They are the true racists and sexists in this country. They think women and minorities are tools, not independently thinking people with views that don't depend on skin color or chromosome types.

Notice that all attacks on BO are racist, but attacks on Palin are all fair. We know the media are liberal. We know they are afraid of Palin.

That's why they are so visceral. They want to make her give up. McCain won't drop her, and if she stays on, she will probably be our next VP. That's why the media are acting like tabloids to try to destroy her or drive her away before the election. If they just make her miserable enough, she'll give up.

Hello! She wasn't called "Sarah Barracuda" for nothing! She won't give up that easily. And that scares the media.

Many pundits claim Sarah Palin is an
attack dog. This leaves the reader with the impression that the Democratic Party, being led by BO, were walking thru the park on day. Off to the right was this mean old man that sicced his pitbull with lipstick on those innocent Democrats. I would be up-in-arms too -- if that was the way it happened.

We all know that to get along with any dog is to feed it its favorite meal; and pat it gently on its head; stoke it on its back; roll it over and rub its tummy. Do that and that vicious pitbull will probably turn on its master.

Someone needs to tell the Democrats that taking a stick and whacking the dog will only enrage it. Furthermore, if you are aggressive to its pups, you have a major problem brewing. Blood will flow.

The Democrats did everything wrong. Is it any wonder that the pitbull with lipstick seems like an attack animal to the very ones that tried to abuse her?

My only hope is that Pitbull has been taught how to go for the juggler and hold on until the Democrat with the stick has bled-out.

Go, Sarah, go. Today, we are all ptibulls.

The Palin Pile-on
Since the slam-dunk ticket of Obama/Clinton is out, the press is worried. Had Sen. Clinton been VP, all of the jokes and abuse would've gone to her and Obama would just slip into the Oval office. However, a new target has emerged...Gov. Palin. NOW the media can sink their teeth into this woman. Why not? She is white and she's a SHE! Nobody cares about Biden and his weak attempt at having his own hair... McCain's age and his impending death the second he takes office...or Obama-lama-ding-dong's untouchability. No. They want to be as negative as possible to this elected official. Since the press is digging up everyone from Palin's past...let's go digging in Barrack's backyard...oh, yeah...that's holy ground! What a worthless election it would've been if Gov. Palin hadn't joined the mix! Can't we all just get...to the issues?

VP Debate
When GOV Palin takes on SEN Biden in the debate, she's going to mop up with him.

Then just watch the MSM as they thoroughly twist and spin the results the next day.

Don
Bill Clinton never received more than 48%,I believe. Perot hated Papa Bush and jumped in ,out, then back in just in time to siphon off just enough votes to give Ole Slick the office.

Third party candidates who know they will just be spoilers, should think real hard this year.

This is a different time and a different opponent.Obama must not be allowed to enter the White House as president. We will never recover from it if he does.

Rowly
You are correct. Slick Willie did not get a majority of the vote. He got a plurality. And he is the first elected, impeached president.

Hey OBAMBIE TROLLERS!
First Sarah Palin kicked your butt...

Last night John McCain kicked your butt..

and now your candidate and all his sexist surrogates are out trying to destroy Sarah Palin...

This after the Obambies went out of ther way to destroy Hillary and even managed to tarnish Geraldine Ferraro as a racist...

You people are despicable and your candidate of change is a disgusting incompetent...

McCain LOVES this country and your candidate hates America...

The American people know authenticity when they see it...

And Obama - with his styrofoam pillars and adoring (m)ASSES - is phony as a plug nickel...

You and your candidate are finished...

Buckskin
...and should have been ousted. He was a traitor in his dealings with Communist China. That is what he should have been impeached for.
Getting impeached for lying under oath was like Al Capone getting sentenced for tax evasion after all his criminal activity, including murder.
