Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Barack Obama is like a shot of Botox. Support him, and you take 10 years off your face. You join the cool crowd. You become one with idealistic kids and Hollywood glitterati.

Clinton Democrats can't compete. They're on the outside looking in. They used to be hip. They were the bad boys who scoffed at finger-wagging conservatives. Now, they have traded in their saxophones for a pantsuit.

The glamour is gone. Once, their very politics, the simple fact that they registered as Democrats instead of Republicans, made them better than meat-and-potatoes America. They cared more. They were smarter. They knew how to play the system. They were destined to run things.

Now they are trailing behind an upstart junior senator.

Before Iowa, when the Clintons were the party's power couple, the faithful quickly became indignant at any criticism, deserved or not, of either Clinton. As Obama racks up more delegates, Republicans and Democrats can say anything they want about either Clinton, and there is no outrage. Worse, it is now apostasy to criticize Obama.

Even if they were white, middle-aged and living in mostly white enclaves, Clintonians had a quick ticket to the votes of black America. If a Republican said something that could be construed as racist, they did not hesitate to pull the race card.

Now the First Black President and his missus, Hillary, are the race-baiters. The world is upside-down.

And they look like crybabies when they try to pull the gender card. It just isn't fair.

In the good ol' days, even when they lost a battle with Congress, their losses were sanitized by the news that they were riding high in the polls. Now, every time they stumble, it is further proof -- not that further proof is needed, pundits pile on -- that they are history.

And when they win, their victories don't rate the front page. Clintonia gets no credit.

Forget Martha's Vineyard. Don't even dream about Davos. These days, they are big in West Virginia.

Meanwhile, their rivals have become more brazen. There are more Obama signs on Berkeley lawns in May than there were before Super Tuesday, when Clinton won California. On the UC Berkeley campus, Hillary Rodham Clinton boosters have become defensive. Surly even. On cable networks, the talking heads are gleeful about their demise.

And there's nothing they can do to turn the ship around. The patina of inevitability has faded. The people who support them don't count. When they bring up Florida and Michigan, and invoke the old tried-and-true mantra, "Let every vote count," they are met with a shrug. When the old standby slogans don't work, what can you do?

Party insiders scowl that their competition is merely flash and charisma. They now have come to respect stamina. For some, the old defiance has ripened into stubbornness.

Poor, poor Clinton Democrats. Now they know how it feels to be Republicans.

What, no honor among thieves?
This is SHOCKING! Clintons being kicked to the curb? Wow!

Liberals love to fall in and out of love with rock stars. Hillary, they have these shows on NPR/PBS where the oldies are played ad nauseum and you can help them sell memberships.

Best to you.

More RINO Powell stuff
"Were it General Powell running, few would think black and white. He and his wife represent everything that is good about America....Gen. Powell's wife would never say, "For the first time in my life I am proud of my Country."

No, but Powell will say that Gitmo should be closed, that The US should talk directly to Iran (and talk about what exactly), say that Affirmative Action is a good idea, support "reasonable gun control."

How about this little gem from Powell, "Taiwan is not independent. It does not enjoy sovereignty as a nation, and that remains our policy, our firm policy" which he told to Anothny Yuen of HK's pro-Beijing Phoneix TV back in October of 2004? Or his quote to CNN at the same time where he said "We want to see both sides not take unilateral action that would prejudice an eventual outcome, a reunification that all parties are seeking."

If Taiwan is not independent and enjoys no sovereignty, then what are those green passports I see with the words Taiwan on them or why is there something called the New Taiwan Dollar (NT)? Would a visa issued by the PRC work in Taiwan? And as for his comments to CNN, only problem with that is that is not US policy.

Oh, and how about Powell going to bat for China this year against Taiwan too?

Powell is not someone that should be held up as an example of virtue.

Standshisground
I agree! My voting pattern over the years has been similar to yours. And I also agree that if the Obominatable man is elected, Al Qaeda will be quick to test him.

Everyone
Good morning.

B.O. has started the standard Demo...
attacks. He said, "John McCain wants to privatize Social Security." That is "change"? Sounds like the regular Demo. scare tactics to me. Change my foot!

TOOTHPAST
This article photo of the O'BoyToy has him looking like paste - as in toothpaste.

It's 100% - every photo of the Barack O'BoomBox he looks like he has a hot stick shoved up his pass and this one with the teeth he looks like he enjoys it.

Mr O'BoomBox can you tell a funny without being one???

**** I MEAN THIUS GUY MUAST BE SERIOUS! ***

Oh! You Mean That Shoe!
Yes Debra, life for the Clintons now, has become reciprocal. Things they did to opponents are now being done to them. Plus Monica's first Black Presidential boyfriend is reeling from playing the race card and losing, these are dog day afternoons indeed.
Too bad we're going to have to stomach 4 years of Barry O, I don't think John "I'm a P.O.W baby" McCain is going to put up a credible fight, unless, he does something drastic like playing the race card and getting a Black Vice Presidential candidate like Micheal Steele or a Condeleeza Rice or entice Colin Powell out of retirement.
After McCain-Feingold and the dreaded amnesty bill that he and the chappaquidic centerfold tried to con us with, Johnny P.O.W is reaking vulnerability and we haven't even discussed his age.

I'm glad you responded as you did to AudiR10, because otherwise I might have seconded his post #10. Understand, I have no love whatsoever for McCain; I did not vote for him in the Missouri primary. In fact, almost all of the conservatives who post to this site who have indicated they plan to hold their nose and vote for McCain feel the same way about him: as I'm sure you've seen by now, there is almost no one on the conservative side posting here who will be voting for McCain because they actually like him or what he stands for.

I can understand how conservatives who will not vote for McCain under any circumstances feel, and I can't blame them for if they choose not to do so, as I myself in two presidential elections (1992 and 1996) did not vote for the Republican candidate on the ballot; in 1992, I was so disgusted with all three candidates, I actually cast a write-in vote for Jeanne Kirkpatrick, and in 1996 I voted for Perot. So other conservatives have every right to exercise the same privilege I have granted myself in the past.

Although I'm not saying I regret doing so, 9/11/2001 reminded me that there IS a difference who is in the White House. America paid for the Clinton presidency with the loss of the World Trade Center; I shudder to think what we might lose if Obama is president. Last time it was just two buildings; next time, it might be most or all of an American city. Even if that city was a very liberal one like San Francisco or L.A., I'm not willing to sacrifice even hundreds of thousands of liberals, because they are STILL my countrymen. I fully expect if Obama is president, Al Qaeda will be eager to test him; I tend to think they'd not be so eager to provoke a President McCain.

The files Hillary! The files!
Slick w:
Don't get upset. Stick to the "PLAN".
Craig got all those files for us.

Hilley:
You will forget them before I will.
A lot of Super Delegates are going to be surprised.

Slick w:
O.K., pass me another intern.

Feelings
"Poor, poor Clinton Democrats. Now they know how it feels to be Republicans."

Maybe unwittingly you have put your finger on it. Politics, for them, is the chasing around after ideas & opinions (no matter how half-baked) to fit how they 'feel.' 'Feelings' come first... esp before God & country.
Clinton and his wife, by every measure, were disgraceful in the White House. Their supporters' reactions? Wink-wink, nudge-nudge. Just so long as the boomer's favorite bad-boy & his brainy lady were pulling wool & getting away with it, that's all that mattered. They could 'feel' superior to the average schmuck... 'Whose ethics?'; 'They all do it!; 'It's all about s*x!... much like 5th graders deploying whoopie-cushions.
What is clear now is how tawdry the Clintons are. The pant-suits & the slickened gray hair match the nasty dispositions, the empty rhetoric, and the overall unattractiveness of the two. What galls the Clintonistas is that the word is now out & can't be disputed: Bill & Hill were & continue to be nothing but shrill, self-serving confidence artists.
It must 'feel' terrible to wake up to that fact 16 years on.

Audir10
Whoa!
What in the world makes you think that I am Not going to vote for McCain??

I guess you haven't read any of my comments over the years. If you had, you would see that I hate Liberals and everything they stand for. Also I've been arguing against those who are not going to vote for McCain or not vote at all! It's like giving it to the Libs on a silver platter!

Perhaps you need to visit our blog and learn something.

We got
McCain because the stooopid party opened up a Biiiiiiig tent, and in doing so watered down their platform. They did nothing but whine when McC went off the reservation and worked in collusion against the best interests of this country with such great legislators as the
sanctified Ted Chappaquiddek Kid Kennedy; or his gang of 14. He's sandbagged OUR agenda that we hired the Republicans to do, and is rewarded by the nomination. My thought is
that the ones who jumped the DNC ship in '94 have taken over the RNC ship with the help of
some entrenched liberal mutineers. Now both
parties play the partisan game while in the back rooms work together to 'do something for the American people" like destroy the country as we know it for their own financial and political benefit. Like Cicero's traitors within the gates and in the halls of government
they insidiously work to destroy the Republic
but we dare not call them on it and question their patriotism. They are not for us, they are against us, the people.

Put in perspective
I am a Clinton supporter. If (and it appears likely) Obama wins the nomination, it will be a case of a Democratic Candidate beating an inferior Republican candidate running on a discredited platform.

Even if Casey strikes out, there is joy in Mudville.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY NEEDS A GOOD ENEMA

.....Maybe what this Country needs is four years of
OBAMA in order to wake up to how bad things really can
get ...in crime lingo it is called "GETTING SCARED
STRAIGHT" in drug lingo it is "GOING COLD TURKEY" ...

.....McCain is not the answer ...he is a part of the
problem ...the GOP has jumped the tracks and no longer
represents Conservatives ...read my blog "ONE MAN'S SEARCH FOR A PARTY .....COLOSSUS

Yes, sir, you members of the First Self Righteous Church can sit back and smirk for 4 years, in the ruins of America, and tell everyone in the unemployment line, the gas line, the grocery line and the line to pay your taxes, that YOU did not vote for *McLame* and so it is not YOUR fault that the place is a ruin.

I hope that thought will keep you warm at night in the cellar.

P.S. If you want to see Obama Nation Prom King and Queen Botox World the Original Sixties Way, I recommend a hilariously stupid book called The Greening of America, by a sad character too old to be a Hippie who worshipped what he imagined they were all about. If you are over 21 and imagine yourself a *member of ObamaNation* you should know that everybody in the In Crowd is laughing at you.

Don't cry for me Clintonistas.
Everything in America gets old sooner or later. We're always looking for the next new new thing. Hillary is xbox. Barack is xbox 360. He's cutting edge. Except not really because it's hard to make a truly revolutionary new and different politician. Which, unfortunately, the majority of Americans may not figure out until after election day.

Liberals wow WOW wow
Liberals logic is so funny.

Liberals first elected the first:
White - Black President

Liberals now want to elect the first:
Black - White President

Liberals didn't want the first:
Female - Male President

What is next an atheistic white/black pygmy from Africa who was born in America and is a
transgender crack addict who works part time as a lapdancer and when not leading gay parades in
San Francisco or aborting babies is busily engaged in teaching sex education, religion, ethics and morality at the government high school?

What a group!!!!!!!!!!!

Emotional Voting

The article highlights a bigger issue; how people pick their candidate.

You constantly hear about the “wave” or momentum from the pundits. It is nothing more than an emotional roller-coaster, fueled by one-liners and sound bites. I guess we can add internet sites to the mix now. And the phenomenon isn’t just restricted to Dems.

The good news is, the candidate relying mostly on the emotional (stupid) vote can ride that wave for only so long.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in any of the closed door campaign strategy meetings. I doubt there’d be any surprises for an aging canine like myself. However, it might be a wakeup call for some of the younger libs.

Great Debate about Obama!

Sgt Relic
Your right. With McGore beating himself and the Republicans losing seats at record speeds. It appears that Liberals will have complete control of our government.

We independents and conservatives can then sit back and watch our nation turn into the decadent slime that San Francisco is.

mrbrrb
We all make keystroke errors and some like me make spelling errors, but you take things to the point of insult. If some physical handicap is a problem, please let me know so i can cut you a little slack. Otherwise, clean up your act.

clinton
No we cant j=know what it fel like to be republicans. we have beatting hearts, urination systms that go where we aim them, and mind that dont have to be put away every night by the local constabulary.

You can't really analyze this race.
Were it General Powell running, few would think black and white. He and his wife represent everything that is good about America. Colin Powell would not set in Wright's Church days, let alone twenty years. Gen. Powell's wife would never say, "For the first time in my life I am proud of my Country." I mean, is that not sickening? Apparently not to blacks.

OhBoomBox is not out to help America as much as he and Michelle are out to straighten out attitudes by being in a house they did not need to finance through a unsavory associate. Wake up folks.
