Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Also, Schwarzenegger does not drive much these days -- the California Highway Patrol drives him.

That's not enough. I do not expect Schwarzenegger to ride the bus. But he should not hype his GM-converted Hummer as "environmentally muscular." He should show some respect for fuel-efficient cars -- those we mere mortals can afford -- and try flying commercial. Get out some, and meet a few real folk -- in first class.

Because, while Schwarzenegger boasted at Georgetown that California is "sending the world a message" on global warming, his behavior and his rhetoric send a different signal: Conserving energy is for girlie men.

I will receive many e-mails defending Schwarzenegger -- all along the lines that at least he believes in global warming. And he has signed bills to force other people to conserve in the future.

After all, no one really expects stars or rich people to sacrifice. All the glitterati have to do is really believe in global warming, maybe ride in a hybrid to the Oscars -- and then their carbon trails (which are much larger than those of people who take the bus every day) won't stink.

It's laughable. Those who believe that global warming is caused by man -- I am agnostic on that score -- claim that they are on the side of Science. That's Science with a capital S.

Yet they applaud when a so-called leader on global warming speaks as if "environmentally muscular" technologies and carbon offsets can manufacture a 25-percent reduction in greenhouse gases by 2020. They have this odd belief that the key to fighting global warming is not by cutting energy use, but by believing in global warming. They embrace wishful thinking -- and call it science.

Global warming "science" is indeed, to paraphrase the Coneheads, mass quantities of male bovine waste material and the "green" claim that CO2 is causing it is fraudulent. CO2 is heavier than air and settles to earth (I have witnessed experiments confirming that) so there is no way that CO2 can cause a "greenhouse" in the upper atmosphere.

A greenhouse gas must be lighter than air; methane, which was Earth's original atmosphere, would qualify except that it is not generated fast enough to keep pace with consumption -- even with utility boilers rhar are required to use natural gas as their only fuel -- so methane is not in short supply.

"Carbon footprint" is a hoax.

jolly giant,,,
ever hear of piltdown man?,,,, in the early1900's an "explorer" discovered the missing link (between man and ape) that proved beyond any doubt that Darwin's theory was correct and all creationism was gone.
Guess where he found his proof for this link?
Piltdown,,, ENGLAND. "amazing discovery"
# of scientists, professors or anybody else of veracity that backed him up...ALL OF THEM.

I'm guessing thats more than 2000,,,,maybe not this was back in the early 1900's.

Back to our story,
This discovery was a skull that mixed the 2 thus giving us the missing link....
#of years that this "amazing discovery" lasted 40 some,,,,,, thats right folks not till the 1950's when some other scientist FINALLY decided to check out this skull was it finally proven that the Missing Link did not happen in England. Apparently the find was a modified monkey skull. And a very bad forgery at that.
Now the discoverer was like any other person looking for fame/fortune/whatever. But what made this fraud last for 40 years was the political leanings of almost all scientists.
Creationism=bad Evolutionism=good
Free Market,Capitalism,Prosperity=bad
Higher Taxes,World Government,Francophile growth (this means none, look at Euro growth rates last 40 years)=good.

It's all about control folks..... it was then and it is now...
