Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Last month, when Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean began serving 11-year and 12-year prison sentences, respectively, for shooting at a fleeing drug smuggler, many Americans were outraged that the federal government would prosecute two agents for doing their jobs.

Their trial uncovered policies that seem designed to undermine success -- such as the rule that prohibits agents from pursuing a speeding suspected smuggler without a supervisor's authorization. Drug smugglers know that if they speed to the border, they'll likely get away.

But the real outrage in this story is how federal prosecutors used their discretion to shelter a drug smuggler and go after two men who, at the worst, should have been fired for shooting at the smuggler and then not reporting what they had done. The outrage is that this case ever came to trial.

Reading the trial transcript -- which was released Tuesday -- you can't tell which witnesses seemed credible. Nor do you see drawings that show the lay of the land on the afternoon of Feb. 17, 2005, when drug smuggler Osvalo Aldrete-Davila drove a truck filled with 743 pounds of marijuana off a West Texas road and then tried to run for the border when he encountered agent Compean.

Did agents Ramos and Compean shoot at a man whom they knew to be unarmed? I see reasonable doubt. Compean said that as Aldrete-Davila fled, the smuggler turned toward him with a shiny object in his hand, so the agent fired back in self-defense. Ramos said that he heard the shots while he was crossing a ditch and could not see what was happening. Then, fearing for his partner's safety, he fired one round at the suspect, who first dropped out of sight and then was seen walking into Mexico and being driven away in a friend's car.

I see how jurors could have seen the agents' failure to tell supervisors about the shooting, their failure to tell other agents the suspect was armed, and the fact that agents scooped up the spent shells when Ramos and Compean realized they had engaged in a bad shoot. Hence the guilty verdict.

But there is no way to know for certain if Aldrete-Davila had a gun or a cell phone in his hand as he fled. Yet U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton's office waged this prosecution based on Aldrete-Davila's version of events -- even though the smuggler originally lied to a Border Patrol agent when he said he was shot as he was simply returning to Mexico. He left out the drug smuggling.

Later, when Aldrete-Davila was supposedly telling the truth, his story still smelled. As Ramos' defense attorney, Mary Stillinger, said in court, Aldrete-Davila claimed "he's a little mule, and he needed money for his mother's doctor's bills, and he needed money to renew his commercial driver's license"-- which was current. "He doesn't know who hired him. He doesn't know where the stash house is."

Later, Stillinger added, Aldrete-Davila apparently abused the border-crossing card provided by Uncle Sam to assist with the medical care he needed because the bullet severed his urethra. She noted in court, Aldrete-Davila "did it again in October, he personally took the load to the stash house."

Was he smuggling again? Sutton replied, "To our knowledge, Aldrete has not been arrested or indicted on any other loads." The records are sealed.

Oh, and Aldrete-Davila is suing the Border Patrol for $5 million. It doesn't help the prosecution's credibility that Aldrete-Davila testified in court that a family friend, the Border Patrol agent who started this investigation, told Aldrete-Davila that he might sue the Border Patrol and helped him find a lawyer -- which the agent denied.

In addition, three agents testified against Ramos and Compean (with limited immunity for their role in the alleged cover-up), but none of them saw the whole exchange. Two were too busy checking out the drug van to run to the scene when they heard gunshots.

Sutton argues he has to prosecute when his office sees a crime. He told me, "Of course, my office would have preferred to have sent the alien to prison for his crimes, but when the agents broke the law, destroyed the crime scene and covered it up, they made that impossible."

I do not countenance law enforcement officers shooting at unarmed suspects. If that's actually what happened, Ramos and Compean should lose their jobs.

But a just government does not put men who have risked their lives in the line of duty -- men who are not criminals, who did not premeditate their misdeed and who have not been running criminal rackets on the job -- in prison for more than a decade.

When you think of the considerable resources spent on this trial, so that prosecutors could put behind bars two agents who may have screwed up dangerously in the heat of pursuit and lied about it -- in order to help a drug smuggler who has a financial incentive to lie -- you wonder where the justice is. And you cannot see it here.

No Border Security/No Homeland Security
This grand experiment of government of the people, by the people, for the people is being usurped by government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations.
The primary responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect the territorial integrity and people of this country. They have completely abdicated this responsibility. Both parties have been complicit in this. We are being told it is not possible to control our borders, enforce our laws, and thereby control our destiny as a nation. Hogwash. We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can't be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. If we act like sheep and don't stop the inundation across our borders, we will lose our country without a bleat.

Ramos should be allowed to sue Slutton
So Aldrete-Davila is suing the Border Patrol for $5 million? Then Ramos has an even better case for suing for being imprisoned and not protected from thugs and thus being far more seriously injured. But the bottom line is that Sutton is the one who should lose his job for his malicious prosecution and cuddling up to a known drug smuggler and against patriotic agents trying to defend the country and keep drugs out.

Ms. Saunders,
Thank you for your second column on this travesty of justice. For those who may have missed it, America's Most Wanted featured an update on this story tonight as well as introducing another victim (Sheriff Hernandez) of the famous prosecutor, Johnny Sutton. Mr. Hernandez is in jail for shooting at a van full of ILLEGALS while the van attempted to run him over and escape after he had pulled the van over and was approaching the vehicle. Mr. Sutton got right in on this case too, saying that the Mexican ILLEGALS' civil rights had been violated (because Hernandez shot at the escaping van after it almost ran over his feet and one ILLEGAL (at least 8 were in there), who was stuffed in the wheel well, got shot and slightly injured. All of the ILLEGALS received immunity, jobs, and housing in the USA in exchange for testifying against Sheriff Hernandez. My question is where are these ILLEGALS now? Once they testified did they return to their county, or is the US still subsidizing their staying in America illegally? Something is grossly wrong with these cases. This is not justice in America! Keep emailing, writing, and faxing the White House, the Dept. of Justice, and your legislators so we can keep the heat on and get these men pardoned completely. Also go the USA numbers.com and grassfire.org for more information.

Sutton
This bad excuse for a prosecutor should be put in prison himself.

when discretion becomes oppression
This case, and the egregious Duke Lacrosse case, both illustrate a major flaw in our justice system...which is the utter lack of penalty or sanction on the prosecutor.

To claim that prosecutorial misconduct can result in a prosecutor being removed from office is ludicrous, even laughable.

Whoop-dee-doo.

By "penalty", I mean criminal and civil procedures that can land a prosecutor in prison.

I understand the necessity of an independent prosecutor being able to exercise his panoply of powers without being affected by mob rule and emotion.

But there needs to be some substantial penalty for a vendetta in the case of Sutton that was calculated to assuage political concerns of Mexican officials, and possibly the whitehouse, rather than rendering justice, or, in the case of Nifong, a crass political consideration to manipulate and exploit racial tensions among his constituency in the run-up to the local elections.

You can bet that Sutton
is not acting on his own initiative.

What's it going to take?
I hate how the old media picks and chooses its pet victims. Truly we have three (what should be high profile) victims (remember deputy sheriff Gilbert Hernandez as well) of mis-justice, and the old media is doing nothing to further their cause. We must turn up the heat. Personal phone calls, letters, etc. I have a phone call appointment with one of my senators to discuss this matter. Inform at least 10 of your friends and family and ask them to do the same. Please check out these links:

Border Agents
I doubt the truth as to why Sutton prosecuted the two Border Agents and now Sheriff Hernandez will ever be known. If it is we will have another watergate on our hands because I feel President Bush was personally directing this case. He is hell bent on opening our Borders and this is his way of showing Mexico what power he has. President Bush fooled a lot of people getting re-elected and I was one of them. My hope is impeachment will be started against him to stop him from doing futher harm.

Federal Grand Jury
All of these cases have one thing in common and that is they all had to start with a Federal Grand Jury. Not all States use the GJ system, but the Feds have to because it is in the Constitution (one of those pesky Bill of Rights things that has not been sent to the States by the 14th Ammendment).

Most people swallow the Feds story hook line and sinker. The founders did no intend for the GJ to be a rubber stamp and until people wake up, travesties like this will coninue. H*ll, the GJ in both of these cases could have indicted the prosecuter. That has actually happened with a federal GJ before.

GW
My thoughts exactly. I've said it before on this forum that I think Bush is behind the whole thing
to push and protect his secret deal the North American Union.

Sadly, I voted for him to. Now I think he should be impeached for Treason!

Prosecutors Discretion
It appears that plans for a North American Union are well under way and our Constitution is rapidly becoming an inconvenient document that is best ignored by both parties. I agree with Virginia Patriot that this is now a government of, by and for corporate interests. Why else would these three Americans be railroaded for doing their jobs if not to please some well connected politico south of the border?

i get it now
it's sad to say that this administration, and yes i am blaming bush would let this type of foolish happen. the reason why we lost the house and senate is because of nonsense like this, and if the repubicans don't watch their step they won't never gain power back. the reason why they lost the election is because we(CONSERVITIVES)want more action and less politics.

Bad Money
Can you say that the coyotes and mules of Mexico have given our animals a bad name. How much money do you think it would take to put the prosecuter on the payroll of the sleaze balls. I do think that the patrol agents got screwed by the crooked system of justice in that area. I do not think the President had anything to do with it. Everytime something happens that people don't like, it has got to be the President Bush. That is a cop out and a fantasy for the hate mongers. It is impossible for him to be responsible for everything that goes wrong.

THE WORSE CRIMINAL IS SUTTON!
The ONLY thing the BORDER PATROL AGENT did wrong was not filing a report on firing their weapons which is only punishable by 5 days suspension. But they did file a ORAL report with an on scene supervisor.

The INJUSTICE and OUTRAGE is the PROSOCUTERS abuse of power and the DRUG SMUGGLER, with his lifelong border agent friend, success in getting away with major crimes. DRUG SMUGLER also successfully smugled drugs after this "immunity" and also was NOT imprissoned.

WORLD NET DAILY has great coverage on this.

HOW COULD A PUBLIC TRIAL TRANSCRIPT BE WITHHELD FOR OVER A YEAR?

Raker: I thought the same about bush but
he appointed Sutton,
he refuses to even look at the cases,
let alone pardon the Border Patrol or Sheriff,
he refuses to acknowledge/discuss OPENLY any hint of north American union documents/agreements. (A treaty would have to go thru Congress, but not an agreement or consensus or other term for a treaty.)

If you think it can't happen, talk to any European. Did they vote to join the EU? Thought not.

for V P: except for the "evil corporation" angle, I am with you. How many Americans are:
nannies
lawn care
taxi drivers
bus boys
dishwashers
independent contractors

esp. in big cities? Illegal aliens have many of these jobs LOCKED. And not just mexicans or Central America either.

Why haven't any major LAW FIRMS
volunteered to represent these incarcerated two border agents and sheriff. With proper and powerful legal representation this injustice might not have occurred.

The major liberal news media has also ignored this outrage.

BUSH has opened our borders to drugs and illegal aliens and terrorists, because he is obsessed with his IRAQ policy!

Bush
In my quiet time, I have many; I comtemplate how a supposedly Christian person who many times refers to his faith can look back at his oath of office and delibertly ignore his solemn pledge to protect our borders. This is why as a voter for Bush I now have such a viscral response to the Repulicans put forth by the party. The latest turncoat is my Governor Richochet Perry who intends to gut our protection along the border, surley someone had to know what a turncoat this man is. Why it was never known as well as Bush just baffels me.

Goshawk
You made a true statement on Sutton. I would like to see a grand Jury look into his actions and see if their is some Drug Money being passed onto this side of the Boarder. With three law enforcement personnal now in Prison because of him I believe it is time for the People to do some pushing to get our so called elected officials to do their jobs correctly or kick them out of office. This includes the office of President on down to the Congress and any Buracrate that thinks he or she is better than and smarter than the People that were a little dumb to vote for them.

Illegals
The open, porous border has been a puzzlement to me for the last 15 or so years. In Chicago and the surrounding area, the influx of legal and illegal Mexicans and other Hispanics has been incredible, turning the area into Mexico North.

It's a fallacy to say that this is for the benefit of corporations - corporations suffer until they cater to the Hispanics. American stores and businesses close, replaced often by mom-and-pop Spanish stores. The number of dollar stores is incredible. The "Dollars-to-Mexico" stores abound, aiding the hemmorhage of dollars out of the country. Forget getting a job if you aren't bilingual, especially in hospitals or banks.

Illinois is a sanctuary state. The churches and the politicians cater to the Hispanics, putting the black population's needs aside. Inner-city schools which need the most resources aren't getting them because the overcrowding caused by the Hispanic influx is siphoning off tax dollars for school additions. I see a culture clash in the future.

If you're jobless, forget social services if you are not a minority or a Hispanic. These services are overburdened, emergency rooms have become armed camps, the police and fire departments are overworked, and the jails are overflowing. Drug problems are rampant, but our newspapers all print their "Hispanic sob-story-of-the-day" (and now they print the Muslim ones as well).

These border patrol agents deserve medals and the support of all of us. I'd like to see federal legislation passed which makes it impossible to sue for damages when injured in the commission of a crime. I'd also like to see more protection for all of our law enforcement officers.

Prosecutors = NEO (ego)Nazis
Excellent article. Tragic saga.
HOWEVER - all too common occurrence.
Look at Nifong at Duke; Look at Ms. Kathleen Parkers article Sex Lies Prison May 10,2006; Prosecutors are OUT of Control!!!

To Wally Wonder
At least we now know that Nitesoil got his indictment by lying to the Grand Jury. That little blunder is going to cost him big time. Unfortunately the city of Durham is also going to have to pay for his lying.

Makes you wonder about the DA in this case. Was there some lying to the GJ? If that turns out to be case the DA can switch places with the border guards.

If I were king/ / / /

The job it seems of lawyers is to find a way around the laws, so,

If I were King

1. No lawyer would be allowed to run for any political office.
2. No lawyer could be appointed as a judge.
3. A judge who lets a criminal off on a technicality or other scheme must receive the same sentence that the criminal gets if he is caught and tried again.
4. The word “alleged” cannot be used when there is video or confession of a crime.
5. Before a new law is passed it must be accompanied by the repeal of 10 laws.
6. No child can graduate without passing a test on the Constitution.
7. No college can issue a degree of any sort without passing that same test.
8. The Gettysburg Address must be memorized by any office holder, city thru federal.
9. Every citizen must recite the Ten Commandments in English before voting.
10. These tenets can only be added to, not changed or deleted.

Ed

Sutton makes sense to me
Ms. Saunders writes:
"Sutton argues he has to prosecute when his office sees a crime."

Sounds good.
Perhaps he might pass that sentiment up the ladder to the good folks in Washington, and they could apply that raiionale to our borders.

Army
The Armyought to take over the Border Patrol. No one in the Army would be prosecuted for shooting an invader; that is their JOB.

impeachment
Sorry, y'all, but much as the Dems would like to impeach President Bush, it's most certainly NOT because he's not doing enough to stop illegal immigration.

dbz
I don' know with this current admnistration. Look at the Marines who being proscuted for shooting terrorists in Iraq.

Border Control
Whatever happened to the need for a "Territorial Imperative"? This is our territory and we have a vital imperative to control it. When criminal suspects know they can flee from law enforcement without consequences there is no control. Shooting at fleeing suspects who have been ordered to stop and surrender should be re-instituted to regain that "Territorial Imperative" vital to the safety of the officers and agents we ask to go in harm's way.

The bad guys need to know there are serious consequences for breaking the law and fleeing from police.

Those "only want to work here"
My greatest concern regarding border security is the apparant ambivalence that seems to exist even among the conservative for "those who only want to work here". Too often I hear conservatives say "I'm not concerned about those who only want to work here. I'm primarily concerned about the drug dealers, the hardened criminals, and the prospective terrorists." This attitude is dead stupid dangerous. Keep in mind those who only want to work here don't make enough money to support themselves and therefore have to turn to you and I for support - welfare, food stamps, housing, medical care, schools (now including college), etc, etc. It is our money that is being used to support these illegals who work for dirt cheap. Ultimately we lose billions of dollars per year. This is our money, which we have worked hard to obtain and should be used to enhance the well being of our lives.

In order to be truly successful at the argument for keeping out "those who only want to work here" we have to re-visit a small but significant mistake which occurred in the Declaration of Independence. The God-given inalienable rights as originally studied and discussed by John Locke were Life, Liberty and Property, not "the Pursuit of Happiness". It is extremely essential to realize that the inalienable rights must include the right to produce property, use property for one's own well being, and protect property. Without property there can be no life or liberty or happiness. It is literally a matter of life and death that we as citizens are allowed to exercise our God-given right to protect our property and to demand such protection from our government. To be deprived of one's rightful property over a long period of time sometimes does lead to death. Usually it leads to a severely limited level of life whereby one does not have the necessary money to enjoy life on any kind of decent level. Keep in mind that the Soviet Union collapsed partially because too much money was taken from those who produced and given to those who didn’t produce. This same tragedy occurred in Rome. At the end of it’s collapse, Rome gave away massive amounts of food to those who needed it but didn’t produce it.

This uncovers the serious damage caused by those "who only want to work here". It makes them the violators of human rights. It makes us, the American Citizens, become the innocent victims who only want to protect our own property in order to protect life itself. The whole "rights" argument is reversed. We should say to the illegal immigrant activist, "You want to talk about rights?. Fine. Let's talk about rights. Anyone who sets foot on our land without our permission has violated our right of property. And we have a God-given right to protect our property and it is a primary duty of our government to protect our property. Without the right to protect our property and without our Government effectively doing so, we certainly cannot have a decent level of life, liberty, or happiness. I know you illegal immigrant activists want to take away that right in order to advance your own political agenda, but we are not going to allow you to do that."

Also, regarding Bush’s pseudo profundity: Family values don’t stop at the borders: Shouldn’t respect for the property of other families or other nations be included as a family value? Yes it should.

End of argument. Game, Set, Match, Checkmate. The fat lady has sung. We win the arguement. No more guilt trips about racism or supposed hatred for immigration. The moral compass points to the illegals as the real violators of rights. We are only trying to protect our rights.

Sutton's next career move
is to become a federal judge. Just wait and see, Alfred E. Bush will appoint him prior to leaving office and the dems will ratify him faster than a fart in a yoga class.

Tp pick a nit
One thing that Deb Saunders has missed is the fact that the agents did everything by the book. They were not under any obligation to file a written report, as their supervisors were on the scene and were given an oral briefing. They made the decision to let the incident go without a written report, not the agents.

Further, it seems that the federal authorities lied to Congress about statements that the agents allegedly made in order to keep Congress from looking further into the case and asking them questions about the prosecution. The feds are dirty in this and are waging a PR campaign of unprecedented proportions to sully the agents involved.

This case, and the non-reaction fom the White House should tell everyone all they need to know about Bush and his stance on illegal immigration.

Ramos & Copean
When this case was brought to court by the George Bush shill John Sutton the sitting judge should have thrown the case out almost immediately so let us not forget her a George Bush appointee. From all I have read, and heard about this matter there is no doubt in my mind of perjury on behalf of the prosecution. Initially they supposed were commended by their superiors on their actions and the confiscation of a large amount of illegal drugs.
The prosecution of these two agents at the behest of George Bush and what amounts to treason on his part in refusing to enforce the immigration laws will spell the death knell of the Republican Party in this country.
George W must have been outraged when he heard that two lowly Border Patrol agents were performing their sworn duties in a manner that interferred with his grand plan for a North American Union.

Jobs Americans "Won't Do!"
That phrase has been spat in our faces so many times. All these people want to do is get a decent paying job to support their families. They are doing the jobs Americans won't do!
Have any here ever watched the Discovery Channel?
There is a show, hosted by Mike Rowe. The show is called, "DIRTY JOBS!"
Mr. Rowe goes all over America working for a day at the dirtiest, ugliest, toughest jobs going in America, that people write in and challenge him to work beside them for a day!
Cleaning hotel rooms is a dream come true compared to all of these jobs. Americans do
"ANY" job. So long as we get a decent salary for the work performed, we do anything. And in an emergency of pinch, we even do jobs for lousy wages.
What the president "really" meant to say is,
"these people do jobs for the slave labor rates Americans will not tolerate. American citizens and "legal" aliens demand they be paid fair wages for a fair days work.
The illegal aliens cannot make such demands for fear their illegal employer will fire them with no legal recourse or turn them in to ICE for deportation. So they accept the less than decent wage and they work under conditions many times that are unsafe & inhumane, and say nothing.
Which is exactly why the amnesty will fail. Once the current crop can complain w/o fear of reprisals from their employers, and they demand fair wages, those greedy profiteering employers will want to hire coyote's to bring in a whole new crop of illegal alien slave labor to work for cheap! That's where the next twenty million will come from. So illegal aliens will continue to be exploited, Americans will continue to be lied to, the socialist left will continue to call us stingy and greedy capitalists while pushing for the UN to run the world, and the corporations will continue to reap the obscene profits their greed drives them to steal from all!
Ironically, many minorities in America suffer first and foremost as the illegals tend to take jobs that were traditionally entry level for many minorities & the under-educated. Black's will continue to get a double whammy as their political party will want to push for alien
"rights" and the greedy ones in the party of the right will continue to exploit all for profits.
Methinks a tea party could be in order, soon!

BORDER PATROL
What a thankless job! Try to defend the border, prevent illegals and drug smugglers from invading our country, and get thrown in jail for it!
WHAT'S WRONG?
The men did their job. They reported verbally. They didn't fill out papers. So reprimand them for that.
A "turn coat" fellow AGENT helps the CRIMINAL file charges.
The President-appointed judge chooses to believe the criminal, who was caught AGAIN smuggling drugs.
The prosecutor makes "deals" with an ILLEGAL criminal, AGAINST model citizens, good family men, who have excellent work records.
The court transcripts released FINALLY, are MISSING some vital pages of information.
One agent is put in jail with other illegals, out of state and away from his family, and is SEVERELY KICKED AND BEATEN, THEN DENYED MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR A DAY, WHICH IS REPORTED TO BE ONLY A FEW BRUISES. This was AFTER he requested solitary confinement because he knew he would be a target for drug smugglers and illegals. Authorities told him they would watch out for his welfare. Right, he wasn't killed.
IF Bush cared about the welfare of this country, he would START with the BORDERS! Borders are not halfway around the world.
9-11 happened because of foreigners who came HERE to cause trouble. Some were KNOWN terriorists! (Ask Isreal.)
OTHER countries keep borders and entry points tight, with armed MILITARY guards.
IF we were not putting our military all over the world, THEN we could guard borders and export the illegals, for less money.
After all the closing of military bases, and talk of more closings, perhaps we could open some bases along the borders. The Army engineers could figure how to build the fences/walls. Picture the Navy along the Rio Grand River. Air Force guarding the skies, with spy planes, little drones with cameras, so we know where smugglers come from, exactly.
The Comander-in-Chief, President, is responsible.
He won't do anything about the 2 agents. He stalls on illegals.
He ignores the voters and the United Nations.
He cuts taxes for the rich, puts the country deeper in debt.
And, there must be something for somebody if good men are falsely accused and jailed.

We Need To Stand Up!!!!!
We're fighting radical Islam on one front, the
ACLU and other self destructive groups whom
take cases against the vast majority of Americans
everywhere and we're fighting our own Federal
Govt. to even secure our borders! What kind of
mess are we in? Americans who don't want to
give away the Rights that our wondrous Military
and Vets so courageously fought to preserve for
the posterity of AMERICANS have to ban together
and stand up! We could start with Johnny Sutton
and his arrogant LIES! Sutton worked with (then)
Governor Bush for several years and even worked
on Bush's transition team when Bush took office
in 2001. Bush and Sutton go back quite a ways.
And Alberto Gonzales worked with the both of them
when Bush was Governor! I voted for President
Bush-I was duped. It's not the first time I was
duped by a politician but I certainly am going to
do my best to see it's the last time. As of
now, I think Congressman Tancredo from Colorado
is the sort of man I'd like to see as President.
I'm going to do my best to see that he's not
bought and paid for like many others!
God Bless America, our Troops and our Border
Patrol Agents!

border patrols and a note on grand jury
all of this with the border patrols was pre planned as and example of what will happen to them when they do their jobs. we all should start off with a study of what really happen on 911. this government wants all of these illegals here it is part of the feds plan for new world order. there was so many lies from the adminstration and the justice dept. americans need to wake up and see what is happening to your supposed rights since 911 and before. illegals have more rights than we american citizens. as far as democrats and republicans there are no difference in the two. they speak different but they both have the same agenda. as for federal grand jury i served 18 mos. as and american i was so disappointed in our justice dept. we had cases on illegals picked up for deportation. one company i remember was a hirer of 8 illegals. the i-9's where filled in with s.s.#'s that where 000000000. when the prosecuter was asked if would hear the case against the company. we where told we the feds don't charge the companies because, they were afraid they would not hire hispanics. another case was 2 illegals at 6am in the morning parked on a major highway drinking beer. we voted for indicted on both cases. the prosecuters remarks where they the illegals are just poor uneducated men who come here for a better life. i told the prosecuter that i felt that he was aiding and abetting lawbreakers. the citzens of america they always threw the book at them and alot of times we could detect the lies that the feds were passing on to us. the moral to all this is your politicans and this adminstration don't care what americans think or what we want. i hope all of you reading this have a chance to serve on a federal grand jury and you will see what i am stating here as true. this border patrol and the sheriff deputy case from what i had seem happen these juries were lie to. i hope by passing this information on, that people will see a clearer picture of what is happening. we have been sold out as a nation.

The Mexican Connection . . . .
I don't know if any of you lately have heard of the investigation into allegations that the Mexican govt. or drug cartels are behind this--from emails sent out by numbersusa and grasstopsusa.
I have called Tanncredo, Dana Rohrbacher and the other Texas senator, Poe, to congratulate them and tell them we are NOT going to let this go by the wayside. I too voted for Bush, and for that I'm very sorry. Next time I will definitely vote for Tanncredo. He at least has a chance of the nomination if we all spread the word and support him. Bush is turning into a bloody nightmare for all of us. I actually was almost disfunctional for a few days horrified at what his administration has done to this country. I'm not even sure about the
"war on Terror" business. I have been reading books on Iraq that pretty much tell about all the meddling and toying our western governments have been doing in the Middle East for decades and it's not a pretty picture.
Bush is not just a "private" man. He's an extremely secretive man and it makes me sick to see this White House ignore this situation. We should all know Bush's agenda for globalization of "trading block" in the west. Watch out folks, there's some sort of push he's going to make to extend his ability to make treaties and deals outside of the vote of congress. It comes up for renewal soon. Please watch out for it and contact all your senators and congresscritters to tell them not to allow this under any circumstances. I would like to see this man impeached by all means. There's no telling how rotten the DHS and ICE have become under his watch, as well as the Justice Dept.
The main thing that can save our country IMHO is passage of the Fairtax act, and we have some pretty strong support for it among Congress who've signed on as co-sponsors. At least we the people would at last have some power over the purse with this elimination of the secretive IRS.
But I will not let Ramos and Compean rot in prison. Keep calling, folks! Do NOT LET THESE CRIMINALS REST!. Call all the talk show hosts you know to get the word out. Write your local papers, write national letters to the editors. It's getting word out about the Fairtax, believe me, and we can get out word about this too. We HAVE to get these men out of prison and put the real criminals behind bars where they belong.

Everyone is missing the point
Debra, the problem is that the agents deliberately and willfully destroyed the evidence of their activities.

If you were to do the same in a self-defense shooting, you would be looking at spending at least one decade (and probably closer to two) in prison.

Law enforcement personnel are entrusted with the power to employ deadly force as part of their duties. When they do, they owe the citizenry an accounting of their actions. Ramos and Compean went out of their way to deny us that accounting, which inevitably leads to the question of whether or not it was a good shoot.

Righteousness does not need to hide. Evil, on the other hand, relies on stealth and concealment.

If Ramos and Compean are not guilty, they are certainly ACTING as if they're guilty.

If anyone takes up the banner for Ramos and Compean, then they'd better defend Lon Horiuchi's shooting of Vicki Weaver with as much fervor and passion.

Corporate Welfare
One poster took issue that corporations are the driving force behind the non-enforcement of our borders and laws. During the Clinton administration, the former INS was collecting records from the meatpacking plants in Nebraska as a part of an investigation. They were looking for fraudlent and stolen SS#'s being used by illegal aliens. Sen. Chuck Hagel intervened to stop them. Why would an elected official stop the government from doing its job? In 1980 the average wage of meatpackers was $18.00 an hour, today it is $9.00. That is a huge cost reduction to those companies. Do they want the unlimited stream of cheap labor to stop? It is the companies hiring illegal aliens who are determined to keep the flow coming. In 1986 employer sanctions were passed to solve this problem after the last amnesty. They have never been enforced. Why? They are the ones who pay for the campaigns. Wake up Americans. These are multi-national corporations who see you as a market not as a nation. We are all just workers, documented or undocumented.

Sutton is a Pawn
King George is directing this effort to stop all interference with the illegal invasion. What better way than to encourage Sutton to prosecute law enforcement for every infraction, no matter how minor.

I am sure that the remaining border agents have received the message loud and clear. If you prefer freedom to a cell, then look the other way.

I am ashamed that I voted for this scum bag GWB and I favor impeachment proceedings for failure to secure the border.
