Obama's Conflicting Goals

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

President-elect Barack Obama's enormous stimulus package would be scary enough without learning the details. To inject the same staggering amount of government-created or borrowed money into the economy as has already been spent or set aside for the government bailout when there's no proof it will jump-start our economy and no thought given to how we're going to recoup this money is madness. But when you hear some of the uses he has for this money, it is way beyond madness.

Let's put aside for a moment our valid objections to the Keynesian idea that the government can create prosperity simply by printing and distributing money as if it were "Monopoly" money. If that were true, the only limit to our sustained prosperity would be the amounts of paper and ink we could produce.

Let's also put aside the enormity of the liberal hypocrisy of railing against deficit spending for the past eight years, as Obama stands blissfully poised to dwarf those records.

Instead, let's just examine Obama's inflexible commitment to two conflicting goals, as evidenced in his interview on "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos: 1) spending the "Monopoly" money in a way most likely to stimulate the economy (assuming here the validity of Keynesian theory) and 2) spending the money in a way most likely to satisfy liberal social planners.

Obama said: "Here are a few things we're going to do. We are going to double alternative energy production. We are going to weatherize 2 million homes. We are going to create a much more efficient energy system."

Can someone explain how these ideas, apart from constitutional objections, are going to do much more than lower utility bills for those the liberal planners decide are worthy and please the High Church of Al Gore? But stimulate the economy? Please.

But Obama was just getting warmed up. "I think," he said, "we can create a new green economy. And that's going to be one of the keys to the 21st century." Perhaps someone can provide Mr. Obama and his advisers with some history textbooks detailing the miserable failure of the Soviets' various five-year plans, assuming such texts haven't been burned.

Obama further promised to use some of the "Monopoly" money to invest in health care and education, as if throwing play money at these problem areas has worked or will work to improve their quality or reduce their costs -- much less stimulate the economy. But who can doubt that they will make leftist planners happy?

Moving on, Obama, to make doubly sure to mollify his leftist critics out there, quickly dismissed the notion that tax cuts, even targeted ones, are as dear to his heart as spending. When Stephanopoulos asked him whether the tax cuts would really create jobs or he was including them just to get Republican votes, he said: "Well, let's look at the package as a whole; the bulk of the package is direct government spending." Boy, that's a relief -- knowing that most of this stimulus package will be based on failed theories.

Obama continued, "(Tax cuts) may not help as much as some of the direct spending projects do, but they still provide a stimulus, especially if they are targeted towards people who are really in need."

OK, we get it, Mr. Obama; you believe market-driven economic growth is inferior to government-induced growth. But could you please enlighten us as to your counterintuitive and counter-logical position that targeting tax cuts toward people "who are really in need" will provide the greatest stimulus?

It sure makes for lofty sound bite material and gets you major points with the compassion police and the decriers of "trickledown economics," but it will take more than a profession of good intentions to square this circle. If you have the audacity to implement this plan, we'll see just how well "trickle-up" works.

As Obama's first term unfolds, it will be interesting to observe whether and how Obama will make adjustments to his campaign rhetoric as reality hits him squarely in the face, as it already has with the Guantanamo prison. He now admits Gitmo won't be as easy to close as he glibly indicated before. He would have us believe he's just now coming to grips with the fact that there are "a bunch of dangerous folks" down there. Oh, boy.

I must confess that I would be far less concerned if the worst we could say about Obama were that he was a dishonest campaigner and that now that he's elected he'll do the right thing.

But I'll have to leave such sanguine expectations to others and remain prepared for him to expand government beyond our wildest nightmares.

And while I know this may shock many of us who have basked in freedom our entire lives, there is a tipping point, folks, and I fear we are approaching it.

Very good article, David
Excellent analysis and explanation. Thanks

wobbie the liar
exactly why should we pay the slightest attention to a pervert who tells us how hot his daughters look when they dress like hookers.

Only sickos like you have sexual fantasies about their own children.

But the messiah won with fraudulent campaign donations, the efforts of groups like acorn to fraudulently register voters and the msm never ending attacks that painted him as a liar and blamed him for every thing that went wrong with the country.

But he ran against mccain who was the msm choice as they saw him as the easiest repub to beat and even if mccain had won, he is more of a dim than a repub anyhow,

So for the left there was no way they could lose the last election, both parties ran candidates fully in love with socialism

Affirmative action - elect Obama
can go to hell.

doofus the dimwit
you remain the clueless troll. The left attacked bush from day 1. They never gave up the cry of the election being stolen because of the florida results.

Even though numerous msm libs went to florida and checked the recount, bush still won every recount. The bible of the left, the new york times went to florida and said bush won florida

And still the left never stopped crying about bush stealing the florida vote. Your side has called bush every name imaginable and calling him hitler and fools like you call him torturer because you have more love for the terrorists at gitmo that justifies your hatred of america.

Exactly why are we supposed to support your messiah when all he talks of is a never ending growth of the deficit, more govt intrusion and a history of accomplishing nothing other than winning a couple of elections.

Reading talking points his handlers put on a teleprompter is not leadership. He has never introduced and seen legislation passed and has done nothing except name former clintonites to cabinet positions.

He has provided no leadership nor given the right any reason to trust him or believe he will accomplish anything. I for one see nothing admirable in him and with his ties to former terrorists, and active haters of america as well as his ties to the corrupt acorn group and all the fraudulent money he accepted in his campaign only proves he would do anything to win.

That you have been fooled by a fraud and snake oil salesman comes as no surprise. I have heard nothing from him that leads me to believe he will be anything other than a total disaster

What war goes as planned? pt 2
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." - President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." - President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." - Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

The question is, why did these spineless democrats lie us into the Iraq war? Bush is a success because he overcame the democrats who needed him to fail, not for the good of the country but for the good of the democrat party.

What war goes as planned? pt 1
In the real world and life what endeavor does not experience setbacks that must be overcome? And, even if Iraq is a failure, in life failure is always a possibly. But, democrats from the 1990's to 2003 all agreed with President Bush that Iraq was a threat and voted to grant Bush the authority to make war on Iraq.

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them." - Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." - Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

Did Bush fail...
...or did the liberal mainstream media using advocacy journalism spread the opinion that Bush failed?

Bush had to restructure federal government after 9/11. Bush had to protect and defend the homeland from other attacks. Bush had to confront and form a strategy to lead the terrorist away from the homeland. Bush had to gut Al-Qaeda and keep them on their heels. Bush had many things on his plate as president and he did an outstanding job. All while democrats block him as every turn just to get some political advantage.

I cannot imagine Clinton or Obama performing as well as Bush has performed. No one is perfect. No president is perfect. But, Bush has done the job he was elected to do ... and Bush did that job, well!

I am proud of President Bush!

To me it seems our country is turning into a mass mind control state. Led by the mainstream media. News reporting is, in fact, daily brainwashing. Liberal, radical dogma is advanced by the news media through advocacy journalist posing as objective reporters of the news.

This is extremely dangerous! If the "mainstream news brainwashing bureau" doesn't like a person or policy they will destroy that person or policy with lies, jokes, movies, television programs, all the many arms of media will be aligned to advocate and spread the lie. And, people are so conditioned to not think deeply about anything that they just accept the lie they see on all forms of media 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Therefore, many brainwashed people will parrot that Bush was a failure because that's what the MSM told them.

In the real world populated by rogue-nation states with nuclear weapons and missiles the issue is not to make peace with these rogue-nation states because they tend to lie and break agreements. After-all, only a fool would believe peace with a rogue nuclear armed nation state is possible:
http://cbs5.com/national/north.korea.nuclear.2.906679.html

In the jungle, as in geo-politics, rogue-nation states use the prospect of peace with them as a stalling tactics to arm themselves and their fellow traveling rogue-nation states around the world with nuclear weapons to cause the US to de-focus from any single rogue-nation state.

When the US is lead by a fool the rogue-nation states will take that as a sign to break all pass agreement and openly pursue their agendas.

Statest (also known as "socialist, communist, and liberals) inside American government assume peace and prosperity flow down from central government. By the sheer "good intentions" of liberal government run by statest, rogue-nation states around the globe will see the error of their beliefs and there will be peace and prosperity in the land. To the statest all wealth flows from the state. All peace is achieved by talking. All the Islamic fascist required from us was a phone call.

Obama, a statest, will bring peace and prosperity to America and the world. Obama's gonna change the world. He's gonna change it, rearrange it. Obama's gonna change the world!

The biggest lie
is the Federal Reserve.
That's the problem. A PRIVATE BANK that controls our money supply and charges the government interest. Before the Federa; Reserve.
there was no inflation.

Almost all of our economic problems can be traced back to the Rederal Reserve Act of 1913 and the passage of thre 16th amendment (Income tax).

Don't take my word for it, do your own homework.

"But we will see how happy you leftists will be with the coming trillion dollar deficits that will occur annually when your messiah tries to buy more voters with more handouts."

see there you go violating your above pledge but hey remember that Bush the torturer blew threw nearly a trillion this year...with what to show???

"...But the dims have controlled the budget for the past two years and in just the past 3 months your party has added over $450 billion to the deficit."

NOPE! That is all Bush the torturer money

"...But I guess you and the other leftists are happy that you are burdening your great grand children with the task of paying for the messiah's spending plans..."

Cactushead bleats that our grandchildren...all the while she was silent while the Bush Regime drove debt threw the roof.

nomo brains
that we believe your messiah is totally unsuited for the job and is little more than a snake oil salesman isn't going to win him any points.

But many of us plan to show him the same level of respect you trolls showed bush.

But we will see how happy you leftists will be with the coming trillion dollar deficits that will occur annually when your messiah tries to buy more voters with more handouts.

But the dims have controlled the budget for the past two years and in just the past 3 months your party has added over $450 billion to the deficit.

Economists predict the dims will not only grow the deficit by $1.2 trillion with current spending plans but the messiah wants to add an additional $800 billion to bring the biggest deficit in the countries history.

But I guess you and the other leftists are happy that you are burdening your great grand children with the task of paying for the messiah's spending plans once he gets into office and has a willing dim congress to vote these spending bills in

I wonder
How many repubs really want to see peace and prosperity (and respect) return to our country? Even with, gasp, O as prez. Seems to me you had your chance and blew it. Big Time. Now you can whine and scream all you want but the dems got the ball now. Get over it and grow up.

Bush and Reagan did not
spend one cent of our tax money. ONLY CONGRESS IS ALLOWED TO SPEND OUR TAX MONEY. Read the Constitution.

The Ultimate Stimulus
We the people pay all taxes, and we are the only ultimate source of all tax revenue. Regardless where government initially collects the money, all tax money ultimately comes from us, the people.
Since we the people are the one and only source of all tax revenue:
There should be only one tax to collect all tax revenue.
It should be a single, simple, fair, direct, graduated, individual, full-income tax levied on living persons for each level of government: One Tax and Done.
The best thing that government can do to help the country, the people, and even government, is to repeal all of the many hundreds, or thousands of existing taxes, fees, and charges. These taxes are the federal deficit. These taxes are the high price of everything. These tax eliminations are spending cuts. Every tax that is eliminated is a tax that we the people no longer have to pay. These taxes are the difference between the price we pay for health care and everything else, and the price we would pay if these taxes were repealed. Eliminating these taxes will remove them from the price paid for everything by everyone.
One Tax and Done will provide many benefits to all, even government:
One Tax and Done will reduce the price paid for everything by one-third.
Congress can use the money saved to pay off the national debt. Taxpayers can use the money saved for retirement, college tuition, home purchase, etc., all of which will cost one-third less than they do now. This includes the barrel price of oil.
One Tax and Done will make milk and other essential foods affordable.
One Tax and Done will provide a greatly simplified tax form.
One Tax and Done will let the railroads build fast, nationwide, passenger service, taking the pressure off the airlines.
One Tax and Done will end economic slowdowns caused by existing taxes.
One Tax and Done will give us proper Social Security funding.

"...Not when it comes to defining principle. Conservatism and our founding are based upon the principle of limited government..."

Here you are extremely wrong. Founding fathers founding principal was representative self government. The Articles were to limit government and failed miserablely

",,,Failure to abide by that does not change the principle. If you've read the Constitution and the Federalist Papers and didn't see that the founders viewed big government as a threat you've some comprehension difficulties..."

Yet they encouraged and created big governemnt. Again I refer you to the actual history. After the collapse of the articles the small government argument was not heard from again until Calhoun brought it back up as justification to preserve slavery

ROBERT-HIS GOALS
Good factual comments about His Goals! My husband and I have seriously discussed the possibility of a move to another country until sanity returns to America. As much as we love this country it would be difficult. We have lived abroad three different times and each time it assured us this country, right or wrong, was still the best.

Now we are retired, thanks to the good old American system of work hard, be thrifty, save, plan for the future and love thy neighbor we can choose where to live. However, I am not sure this system will work for our children or grandchildren because of the radical changes I see looming on the horizon.
Let's see how this might look in the future:

Work hard - pay half or more of your earnings in taxes.
Be thrifty - gonna to be difficult when inflation sets in after all of the government spending.
Save - Again all gains on saving might have a heavier capital gains tax. Inhertience taxes will be higher as well.
Plan for the future - should I expect the government to take care of me in my old age? Many young people today will believe that possibility even when Social Security may be bankrupt by the time they are of age.
Love they neighbor - With so much radical extremist in this country, will we know who our neighbors are?

Oh Yes, Costa Rica and white sandy beaches are looking better every day.

Obama pick for treasury dept
Timothy Geithner did not pay federal taxes from 2001 to 2004. He only paid his taxes when the Obama team discovered in his background he had not paid taxes ... yet Obama still selects him to run the treasury department.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090113/D95MGFTO1.html

This disqualifys him for the position. To help our liberal friends understand. Liberals ... sit down ... put your thinking caps on to help you focus all of your mental energy on this question. Since you all hate Bush, let's say Bush nominates a person to run the treasury department that had not paid his or her taxes. Would you support the candidate that Bush selected to run the department wneh that candidate is in violation of the rules of that department?

Re: His Goals!!!
I think that this clown has an agenda of tring to form the US like Europe so they won't hate us!! And that includes doing as much socialistic things as possible so that the American people will be used to this life so if we get disgused then move we will not have no problem fitting in!!! But I guess you are more akin to a masochist. You are so desperate for attention you show up even to get abused as it garners you some attention and that is even more pathetic.

to counteract your useless ending, I trust you are having a rotten day and that I have contributed to making it worse

The Obama / democrat plan...pt 2
Manufacturing will be driven off-shore outside of the US due to "Green" carbon taxes. democrats, AlGore, will create companies to sell federal mandated "carbon credits" to businesses, driving up operating cost, along with the sky-high energy cost.

America will be a Republican hating, socialist utopia, under the total control of the democrat party. Power corrupts, democrats in total power, using central control of our economy, is corruption, absolutely!

democrat policies have one goal, to create misery among the middle class while appearing to fight for the middle class. Then, use the mainstream media, and the rich and famous Hollywood entertainers, to blame the political opposition for the misery power-hungry democrats create. Making democrats, again, "innocent bystanders" that were deceived" even while they are in total political control.

Oh bother...

If you've read the Constitution and the Federalist Papers and didn't see that the founders viewed big government as a threat you've some comprehension difficulties.

The Obama / democrat plan...pt 1
...is to crash the economy, as Saul Alinsky wrote in Rules for Radicals. Create a permanent dependent constituency among the former middle class, that democrat economic policies beat from pillar to post. Show the misery of the middle class on MSNBC, CNN, NYTimes, in movies and cable news segments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Blame the few Republicans still holding office in congress and George Bush.

Pushing the "Green" economy is how the democrats will destroy our economy and create an endless economic downturn to keep Americas focused on federal government, not the private sector.

democrats will move from federal government to create "Green" industries. democrats in federal government will spend hundreds of billions of federal dollars in these "Green" industries. democrats will drive the price of electricity and energy up by bankrupting the coal industry. "Green" democrats will block the building of nuclear power plants. democrats will block the exploration of our domestic oil reserves to keep gasoline prices reasonable.

That proves you are both naive and delusional. I had the signal dishonor of running into some of those union thugs during the NFL strike. Those thugs threatened to break my arms if I went to the game. I told them to leave me the f*ck alone, and that what I doing was no concern of theirs. One of them threatened again. I merely told him first swing was his, second was mine, and I would hurt him. I was able to leave at that point, when they figured out they could not cow me.

The obvious solution is for government to stop spending and wasting money. If working folks have to live within a budget why can't govt.

It is common practice for those guilty of various sins to voice their hatred for those sins as a type of repentance for their shameful acts.

Obamanomics & Demonomics
Other than Presidents Carter and Clinton, I believe there were five principles that were major contributors to the collapse of the mortgage industry vis-a-vis subprime mortgages.

1.Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn): Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

2. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass): Chairman, House Financial Services Committee.

3. Andrew Cuomo (D-NYS Attorney General, former Secretary of HUD.

4. Franklin Raines, CEO of Fannie Mae 1999-2004.

5. James Johnson, CEO of Fannie Mae 1991-1998.

Dodd, Frank, and Cuomo were the Carter/Clinton admininistration's political force that, through threat of legal sanction, i.e., romoval of licenses and charters for non-compliance, extorted lending institutions into lending to unqualified buyers to up the % of minority home owners.

Raines and Johnson were CEO's at Fannie Mae when certain "irregularites" with respect to reported Fannie Mae performance and CEO bonuses were observed.

To date, Frank and Dodd still chair their committees despite their shameful roles in our economic collapse.

Raines and Franklin are still uninvestigated, unindited, and untried for their performances. As long as there is no inidividual accountability demanded from our government officials, they will keep ripping us off.

A thought
A friend of mine was talking about how the government has hurt the country, and wondered why Congress does not represent us. I told her that the "government" is not an anonymous entity: it is made up of the clowns we elect. Can someone explain why Minnesota would elect a wrestler for governor and a comedian to the US Senate? Can anyone explain why Mass. keeps sending the Three Stooges, Kennedy, Kerry, and Frank, back to the Senate? Can anyone explain why anyone votes for Dennis Kucinich? Can anyone explain why Maxine Waters keeps getting elected? Can anyone explain why Murtha was reelected EVEN after calling his constituents racists and rednecks? We get the government we created. Unfortunately, when one state like Mass. keeps sending the Three Stooges to the Senate, as those stooges rise up the seniority ladder and acquire more power, all of us in the US have to suffer. Can you say Frank and mortgage meltdown? Now half the country has elected Obamantion and given control of both houses of Congress to Democrats. Woe is us. But, heh, "we the people" elected them. And now they will govern us. They don't even pretend to represent us anymore. Thomas Jefferson is rolling in his grave.

All in all, Obama has a unique way of reaching far beyond his grasp aka "Dreaming". His inexperience shows how well he picks his cabinet, how well he makes major decisions on domestic as well as foreign policies so far.

Hey Doofass:
If Keynesian economic theory is correct, why did its being put into practice during the Great Depression NOT end it?

Don't be afraid
Obama will take care of us.

Obama will put food on the tables of the hungry, and a roof over the heads of the homeless. Who could be against that?

Obama will clothe the naked.

Obama will give medical care to the sick.

Yea, and Oprah shall sing his praise.

Won't you join in the chorus?

Dear Limbaugh
You are very dangerous fellow because you know the principles but do not employ the facts. Who triggered the biggest expension of a government ever ? Mr.Bush and Republican Congress. Who accused Romney of exploiting labor? John MacCain. Who bailout the auto makers against the will of the Congress? Mr. Bush. Sure you can accuse Obama for all the problems. The fact is that Republicans and not Obama are responsible for what had happened. Now about Keynes. Keynesian theory is effective on a small scale and as an emergency tool but only within the free market system. We don't have a free market system anymore. It is a hybrid of socialism and a free market. But we are on a slippery slope. Soon we will have socialism only. The tipping point? It did happened under Bush. Wake up old fellow.

Obama talks a good game, but he talks in circles, generalities and a lot of "we must do's", but never specifics. I'll be very surprised if we survive the next 4 years with this clown at the helm.

Conflicting Goals
It’s just an extension of the smoke and mirrors campaign that will follow right into the White House. Back-pedaling is an art that politicians rely on extensively when they are incompetent. Blaming the predecessor is another one.

The “recovery plan” (aka, bailout) and the “stimulus package” (aka, mega load of garbage) is nothing less than an advanced taxing scheme without representation.

If they close down Gitmo it would be a grave mistake to import the inmates to mainland USA! Lawyers are salivating at the prospect, I'm sure, and if it comes to be these suspected terrorists should be housed with their respective lawyers who would be responsible for their "clients'" conduct.

Mostly privately educated except for schools while in the military. Keynesian theory is now seen as mostly valid especially since Reaganism and conservative economics are seen for what they are - dead wrong

Hal ...
your grasp of economics is astounding ... obviously you went to a government school ...

David the Incompetent
"...Let's put aside for a moment our valid objections to the Keynesian idea that the government can create prosperity simply by printing and distributing money as if it were "Monopoly" money..."

Why do you start an article with a clear lie? Are you unable to discuss the fact that your economic beliefs crashed the economy into a near depression?

"...And while I know this may shock many of us who have basked in freedom our entire lives, there is a tipping point, folks, and I fear we are approaching it."

You could have been right but now that the failed reign of Bush the torturer is coming to a close. This country can now begin to return to the founders' beliefs

Obama, The Great Hypnotist
Listening to this guy speak is what Eve must have been going through in the Garden of Eden and the serpent. Even though I know his plans are disasterous for America, I listen to him and by the end of his speech, I am saying to myself, "maybe he has something there." Then, upon reflection, I kick myself for being to gullible. Obama is doing nothing more than exacerbating the problem that Bush caused in his mistaken belief that Wall Street and bankers would do the right thing with the money he endowed them with. Human nature being what it is...they didn't. Now Obama wants to quadruple the same mistakes with all these high-sounding programs that have nothing to do with stimulating the economy and everything to do with buying future votes.

Huge infusions of money is never the answer. FDR tried it and while he made some significant changes in the American social structure, the economic woes were only prolonged for seven more years of low production and high unemployment. He killed any incentive for businesses to expand, and workers had little incentive to work as long as the government provided sustinence in the form of welfare checks and free food.

One only has to look to China to see how successful their economy has become recently. They are more capitallists than America. Guess what they are doing in this global economic downturn? They are lowing taxes on all businesses to stimulate the economy and boost employment numbers. Meanwhile, we are fast sinking into the abyss of socialist Utopia.

Obama IS a communist
"Perhaps someone can provide Mr. Obama and his advisers with some history textbooks detailing the miserable failure of the Soviets' various five-year plans, assuming such texts haven't been burned."

Obama's green economy
Obama states he believes he can create a green economy in 5 years, with the support of hundreds of billions of tax payers dollars. Big talk from a guy who has never created ONE job in his life, unless you count shaking down banks and businesses a real job.

Dave: GREAT article, and in sum....
......I firmly believe the tipping point has already been passed ! Fed and state govts are spending SO much beyond our (taxpayers) means to infuse these ungracious Lords with more cash, when exactly the OPPOSITE is needed!! What we the taxpayers and business owners/companies NEED are significantly reduced tax rates, and corresponding (almost, for starters) reductions in govt 'ees salaries and benefits. I'm not saying let's layoff millions of govt workers, but reduced pay/benefit packages would be a start. Good God, we now know that NYC firemen have pay/benefit pckgs worth $185k/year and policemen aren't too far below that! Govt has become totally out of control with our tax dollars. And Obama, as you point out, is hell-bent on doing the opposite of what's needed. I'd like to know what his Columbia University thesis paper was about. Making capitalism more "fair" is my guess. Where is a paper trail of his true beliefs? This guy is a semi-socialist for sure, but he's hidden his paper trail.

Its looking more and more
like Obama is the first politician in years who intends to do exactly as he promised, and as his record indicates. The frogs have elected King Stork.

Ranger29
"lets see how it all works out...the right wing has had its shot... you backed Bush as did your brother."

Ooooh! What brilliant analysis, Ranger29! How very insightful of you!

You've just destroyed Limbaugh's entire premise with your dazzling intellectual performance and white-hot wit!

"Let's see how it all works out." Why didn't WE think of that??

Before the right and left....
before the right and left start the bashing. Try this,
How about you get the stimulus package and give to the people. Not to the orginizations. Given to the people they can use the money to pay the debt to the failing banks and in the end the bank will get it.
Now if the people don't give it to the bank to pay back the loan. Then they both are out on the street. Or with out the asset.
Just to give money to a coorperation that made a bad loan in the first place does not solve the original problem. Its still the dept that is the problem. What do you think?????

Communism

on a large scale has been proven to fail every time that it is attempted.

It will fail once again.

The people that did not vote for Obama are the reason that the economy will not recover any time soon. They are aware that their efforts to improve their lives will be futile as long as we have communist rulers.

Obama will be the greatest POTUS ever
...in the minds of the thoughtless (in the thoughts of the mindless, too). Public school taxt books are already filling up w/ the wonder of "His" creation.

Oh well, we finally got religion in the schools anyway...

Mr. Limbaugh,
Many Americans are afraid we are approaching the tipping point and that is one reason there is no confidence in an economic recovery. If confidence cannot be restored there will be no recovery. Obama's plans are causing confidence to sink further.
America, it was nice while it lasted. How sad, it didn't have to end except for the best laid plans of so many corrupted liberal politicians.
Funny how they use the catch that "it is for the children" to push their increased spending.
Their future looks frightening.
