Obama's Ongoing Foreign Policy Implosion

Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

There is one unexpected gift that John McCain's presumptive nomination brings to the GOP. McCain was certainly not my choice, but if any other Republican candidate were running, it's unlikely we'd be seeing as much emphasis in the campaign on foreign policy, and Obama's unfolding incompetence in this area might have escaped essential scrutiny.

Democrats were no doubt looking to capitalize on the Iraq issue before it became apparent that the success of the surge had exceeded all but our most optimistic expectations. Because McCain is perceived as one of the most ardent proponents of the surge and Obama fiercely opposed it, Obama finds himself caught in a trap over the entire issue.

Obama's arguments, echoing the perennial anti-Iraq-war line Democrats have been peddling for years now, that we shouldn't have attacked Iraq in the first place are falling flat, given the radical reduction in violence levels the surge has produced. He is reduced to him-hawing, sputtering, spinning and misrepresenting his unequivocal opposition, which he was earlier showcasing -- during the Democratic primary season -- to contrast himself with chief rival Hillary Clinton.

In the process, Obama's worst attributes are coming to the fore: his pride and arrogance, which paralyze him from admitting any real weaknesses, such as his egregious foreign policy judgments, and his astounding shortcomings as a would-be commander in chief, starting with a profound naivete, inexperience and either ignorance or fundamental dishonesty.

Although liberals generally confer a presumption of sophistication and erudition on fellow left-wingers, they have to be shaking their heads in disbelief, wondering just what their nomination contest has wrought. They can't help but realize that Obama is proving himself daily to be woefully unprepared for the presidency.

They thought they had problems when Obama's sordid associations were dominating the news but were surely confident that once substantive policy discussions recaptured the stage, these associations would diminish, as the messiah's brilliance and charisma would wow and mesmerize us. They're probably wishing right now they only had to deal with the Jeremiah Wrights, William Ayerses and Michelle Obamas.

Can't you just imagine what high-level Democrats are saying behind closed doors about their disappointment over this imploding one-time national political phenom? If any of them had the intellectual honesty they demand in others, they'd be doing mea culpas over their derision of George W. Bush for far less.

But I will say that some in the liberal press are beginning to catch on and to point out -- in their own way -- Obama's weaknesses and inconsistencies and the ludicrously special treatment he's been receiving from their colleagues in the media.

The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz has strongly criticized the unbalanced coverage favoring Obama. But even more surprising was Tom Brokaw's interview with Obama on "Meet the Press." It was in the Brokaw interview that Obama's stubborn refusal to deal honestly with his mistaken judgments on Iraq most strikingly surfaced. Let me give you just a few of the many examples.

In response to Brokaw's charge that he has been engaging in "verbal kung fu with reporters … about the surge," Obama lamely attempted to dissociate the surge from the "Sunni Awakening" and other positive political developments that have occurred or flourished in Iraq as a direct result of the surge. He then robotically repeated the puerile Democratic talking point that but for our "distraction" in Iraq, "we would be further along" in "hunting down al-Qaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan."

It's one thing for liberal commentators to slavishly compartmentalize the war on terror to Afghanistan alone, but it's scary that would-be President Obama trumpets this nonsense. Why, Sen. Obama, must we relegate ourselves just to hunting down al-Qaida in Afghanistan when they have volunteered themselves as targets in Iraq? Or do you believe they're off-limits in Iraq because the Democratic position requires you still to deny they're there?

When asked how he would combat the public's overwhelming perception that Sen. McCain would make a better commander in chief, Obama further embarrassed himself with non sequiturs about his promise to deliver "change."

And when Brokaw pinned Obama down about his threat to go after al-Qaida in Pakistan with or without the blessing of that country, in view of the risk that it could cause a "conflagration" with Pakistan because about "50 percent" of Pakistanis "are sympathetic to the terrorists," Obama stuttered into the evasion that "the situation in Pakistan is complicated."

It's no wonder that Obama is studiously avoiding unscripted town hall meeting appearances with McCain. That's the only wisdom he's exhibited lately.

In response, McCain should relentlessly call him out. McCain's main election strategy should be to expose more of the real Obama to voters every chance he gets.

what does the success mean?
I don't get it I said on these lists that the surge would improve the
situation but not end it. Right on that account.

I also stated that the surge needed to be much greater by several
hundred thousand to pacify the country. Unprovable, but I think
right on this account too.

And it seems that every time an article or any one says something
to this effect - 50 people die in Iraa or something similar happens
to bring the whole thing into question like yesterday:
http://news.scotsman.com/latestnews/Carnage-in-Iraq-as-suic ide.4332718.jp

Surge didn't do the trick, Obama did.
Obama is correct in his refusal to state that the surge has been responsible for the downturn in violence in Iraq. The surge has not been the saving grace; Obama has been.

It is no coincidence that the violence has decreased about the same time that it became obvious that Obama was going to be the next U.S. president. Even the terrorists realize that an Obama presidency will mean peace for them as well as renowned hope for the entire world. With Obama at the world's helm, there will be no reason for people to nurse grudges or foster disputes, and the current situation in Iraq is a clear example of what will happen once Obama becomes the world's ruler. Military force failed miserably, whereas the simple hint at an Obama presidency has brought peace to an otherwise troubled region. The military has proven that fighting always results in failure. Conversely, Obama has proven that negotiating with even the most staunchest of enemies results in success.

We owe no debt to the military, for they have only angered the Islamists. It is Obama who has brought peace with all of the Muslim world within reach. Once he has the power that is morally his to weild, we can finally do away with all of our militaristic tendencies and embrace our former enemies as the brothers they truly are.

Obama has come to save us. We just have to be wise enough to recognize his moral right to rule mankind.

Obama Followers Aren't Paying Attention
Obama followers aren't paying attention to the gaffes or refined and re-refined positions Obama has taken. None of this matters. Even though Obama is young and inexperienced, he promises to do things better, smarter, more fairly; all new and progressively improved. Obama's followers aren't listening to what he says, just that his voice sounds good in their ears.

LoyalDemocrat Royally BackAzzward
The stupid, LoyalDemocrat said, "We owe no debt to the military, for they have only angered the Islamists. It is Obama who has brought peace with all of the Muslim world within reach. Once he has the power that is morally his to weild, we can finally do away with all of our militaristic tendencies and embrace our former enemies as the brothers they truly are."

You damn well owe a debt to the military; you owe your life. You owe your freedom to post stupid, ungrateful, moronic crappola. You royally dishonor your ancestors who fought in America's wars. You dishonor yourself, as the coward without ballzzz you obviously are. You dishonor the rest of us who love America enough to fight for her. Obama will NEVER be our POTUS. Be loyal to your socialist, stupid party; the rest of us will be loyal to our country, and we aren't going to let her go without putting up one helluva' fight.

Go sing Kumbyaya with out enemies; see if they want to smoke what you've got.

brickhouse
you are wrong and Loyal Democrat is right as history when it is
finally written will indeed show that the world began to change
for the better at around the same time that Obama announced
he was running for president. Think about it.

Limbaugh doesn't get it
Getting our troops involved in disputes between every Tom, Dick, and Mustafa in the Middle East is not my idea of a good use of tax dollars not to mention other people’s lives.

Somehow the mission to get rid of Al Qaeda morphed into some kind of grand Wilsonian sociological experiment -- with predictable results.

Until McSham starts acting like a Conservative, how am I supposed to take him seriously?

Loyal Democrat

I thought I had heard it all from the left but I was wrong. Your post was the most uninformed ignorant drivel I have ever had the occasion to read. To know there are actually people as out of touch with reality as you holding voter registration cards scares the hell out of me.

Loyal Democrat
"We owe no debt to the military, for they have only angered the Islamists."

What kind of person makes a statement like that?

In the first place, the Afghanastan operation involved our forces. Nobody I know of, including Obama, is going to negotiate with Al Qaeda.

With regard to other issues, it is bad policy that angered the Islamists, not our young men and women.

The mlitary are given orders, and they carry out as best they can, putting their lives on the line.

And while agree that Patraus allowed himself to become to political for the sake of his own promotion, that is not the case for the fighting men and women who put their lives on the line.

Loyal Democrat is a satirist...he gets someone nearly every post and it appears you are IT tonight! Of course, everyonesfacts played into it, too, so he got a double...he doesn't believe Obama is the savior of the world...reread the post with that in mind and you will see the pure humor of his statements...and the humor in his ability to get kool-aid drinkers to agree! :-)

Wow LD,
looks like at least a triple...oops a quad...tonight! Congratulations!

What the terrorists know
Thanks to Howard, Dr. Demento, Dean and John, Janejis Con, Kerry of 03-04 campign and all the dims up to Oblaba have established their anti-war bonafides especially at election time every 2-4 years. Which means we can count on more Tomahawk lobbing in our future unless McCain is elected. This fight against terrorists and their suppliers was always about having the cojones to kill these sub-species and anyone who sponsored them. Once the dim/msm agenda of Bush bashing, anti-Americanism was established the dynamic changed dramatically. McCain was just as responsible showing up weekly on the talk shows to join his lib buddies in the bashing to the dismay of our troops in harms way and their families.

Here's the choices as you vote for president, governor, senator or representative. The divisives have staked their ground. Either give em complete control or get ready for gridlock ,anti-war rhetoric in perpetuity. I say vote em out and give it to the moderate and conservative independents and Republicans. You still have your abortions and spending but you get things done and hopefully more and more fiscally responsible. Also the border will be closed and the terrorists will know the fight is on. It won't stop until we do. We're like the Fram man. If we put in Oblaba the engine will blow up and we will pay him later or McCain will provide the filter now just in time.

Loyal Democrat
The scary thing is, it is getting harder and harder to see the satire as you sound so 'Main-Stream Obamabot!!!'

Is it even possible to fall further to the left????

Mrs. Paddy
what's even scarier is that others on this thread agreed with him that Obama is a "savior" and world leader! I shuddered!

Satire?
That is satire?

Whatever you say I guess.

Robin
I noticed that. I shuddered too. Been doing that a lot lately listening to the hype and ecstasy attached to Obama.

He got me!
I was not at all aware TLD was satire! He sounds so much like the real deal of Obama supporters lately! I am waiting for him to ride into Washington DC on a donkey! In any case, a vote for him is a major mistake. He can do a lot of damage in 4 years. On another note: Were any of you aware of the fact that he canceled his meeting with the war wounded in Iraq because they would not allow cameras in the hospital? Real compassionate guy....eh?

Loyal Democrat writes
"Obama has come to save us. We just have to be wise enough to recognize his moral right to rule mankind."

Oh shortsighted one. Obama's vision is far greater and long term than his obvious moral right to rule mankind. You have obviously not caught the vision. CHANGE. Get it CHANGE. Rule of mankind is only the steppingstone: With SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) He will make CONTACT. He will dazzle the leaders of the interglactic hoardes, unify them into an organic whole, and with his unifying message of peace end the War of the Worlds. And as a minor consequence of all of this, the interglactic battles that gave rise to Scientology will end as he becomes king of the universe. Visions of Messiah. Nothing less. Alexander the Great became bored witn no more worlds to conquer. Obama has a greater vision than even Alexander. A vote for Obama is a vote for a brand new universe.

Attacks on Obama are working
McCain's attacks on Obama have given McCain the lead in this race, according to USA Today. And it's because Obama is such a disaster on the foreign policy front that these attacks are working.

http://www.notwrightforamerica.com, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite sites, had a great post on this today. Nobama Network and Former Obama Supporters are good too.

But McCain must keep bashing away to win!

McCain on Obama’s war stance

McCain On Obama’s Iraq Plan: “I Think It’s A Pretty Good Timetable”
What is the difference between Obama and McCain on Iraq?

ABCNEWS-Back in January of this year, John McCain pilloried Mitt Romney for encouraging President Bush in April 2007 to develop a private “series of timetables and milestones” for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq.

“Timetables was the buzzword for those that wanted to get out,” McCain scolded Romney at a Jan. 30 debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif.

How the (time)tables have turned.

During a Friday interview with CNN, McCain called a 16-month withdrawal from Iraq “a pretty good timetable.”

Unbelievable
how history can be rewritten by Obama and his "followers".
Barack Obama was in the state senate in Chicago when the President and Congress were viewing information (albeit questionable right now) relative to Iraq's sad state of affairs. Heads of State throughout Europe were viewing the same information, diplomats in the United Nations were (stealing big time) scratching their heads over Iraq. But - the Messiah with no official information to view - he decided what was best for our country - he is truly above all others.
Did anyone ever wonder as I have - why at the very beginning of the Iraq war - our military (GOD BLESS THEM AND THE STRENGTH AND POSITION THEY PROVIDE FOR US) located millions and millions and millions of dollars in new US currency? And follow the money - into Germany, France, China - who knows where else - many a company, diplomat and perhaps a few heads of state lined their pockets big time through their friend Saddam Hussein. While we are now suffering through an economic swing - I always wonder if Saddam Hussein were left unchecked if he indeed would have caused damage to our country- in kmown and unknown ways. Not to mention the torture and hardships the citizens in Iraq were suffering.
And the Messiah - he knows better than anyone on earth how important Afghanistan is right now - even though he did not CALL one meeting on the subject as Chairman of the Foreign Realtions Sub committee on European Affairs - NATO and their position in Afghanistan and he missed most of the foreign relation committee's hearings on Afghanistan. HE KNOWS!!!
Yes the Messiah - bow to his wise decisions before he even considers all the facts - how wise - even a few weeks ago he made a historic speech about his middle easter policy - BEFORE HE WENT THERE TO TALK TO ANYONE. He is indeed a miracle!! And a smooth talker to boot.

Obama loses...
....the general election and the streets of Chicago, LA, Detroit and other large metro areas will see riots. When Michelle Obama made her speech about how "they" move the bar everytime "you" get there this was basically her warning to the "gun lovers and religion clingers" of America. That warning will turn into a conflaguration of riots across America. The Obama's have done more to divide the races in their short time on the national scene than anyone in recent memory.

One more conservaive idiot speaking!
Yes, these modern so called conservatives, while the are no conservatives at all, are nothing but full blown Imperialists! Each time one of them speaks or writes, the Founding Fathers shake in their graves.

Of course, most American born Americans know little or nothing about the Founding Fathers, the more I talk with many of them! Public Education is nothing but a tribute to Socialism/Communism, hence no teaching why America was "invented" under the guidance of God Almighty.

Besides Ronald Reagan finally got the hang of it and used the prescription left by the Founding Fathers and the Soviet System evaporated, in a figure of speech. While George W. and his manhandler that of Cheney fully destroyed the bridge of freedom he built into the very heart of what is now Russia.

And here comes Mr. McCain, who in my book is nothing but a refried Mr. Hitler, wanting to only add insult to the injury George W. will leave behind, with the economy also in shambles.
Yes, McCain the guy who divorced his wife and married the present chick only a month after, now the darling of so called conservatives.

I rest my case as Ron Paul remains my choce. Absent him no vote time wasted by me as their is basically not difference between parties.

Obama is Winning
Obama is a head in the polls. The Republican Brand is in the toliet. Most people thing the surge is working, but they also think the war was a mistake. Obama wants time tables, McCain horizons. One is a policy, the other is a hope.

Obama has been talking specifics, McCain about vague symbols.

Ralph
McCain does not have the lead in a single poll. Some polls show him far behind and other show him slightly behind.

H.D.
I did not even have to get to the second paragraph, to guess that you were a Ron Paul dweeb. You Paulletts are so predictable. Do you look and squeal like a farret too?

JMO51
are you reallly that stupid, or do you truly believe that Obambi is smart? Did you see the Brokaw interview with your Messiah, Obambi? I have a pet rock that is smarter than you and your Messiah!

H.D.
If you are going to title your post "one more idiot speaking", you ought not write something that leads readers to believe the idiot is you. In the first place, we are not now nor have we ever been imperialists. We do not conquer for land and then plunder resources for the purpose of expanding our 'empire'. If we did, don't you think we be taking some of that Iraqi oil right about now? In fact, I seem to remember anti-war types accusing us of going there for exactly that purpose. Guess they were wrong.
It is distressing how pathetic our public education system has become, and I'll agree with you that it is little than a Marxist indoctrination camp. It would be nice if more people new and understood American history, but that was done by design, along with so much else.
What Reagan did to defeat the Ruskies was to not back down and to call them out. As he predicted, it collapsed of it's own immorality, along with knowledge that we could actually make S.D.I. happen, and they could not.
I'm not McCain's biggest fan, but he's a damn sight better than the competition. Hitler? I don't see McCain rounding up jews, though he might if more of them were conservatives.
Ron Paul might have been a viable option in 1900, but isolationism doesn't fly today. The jihadis want us all dead, and they did before we went anywhere. Hell, they did before we were formed as a nation. Get some perspective, sir.

ALL
I'm on the road today but stop by the ANTI LIBERAL ZONE (click on my name and then BOOKMARK IT d*mmit!)

We're cooking up lib roast as we examine one of Carter's buddies in Cuba AND the ARROGANCE of Red Nanny Pee-Lousy and the Libturd Congress.

H.D.
One, McShamnesty is NOT the darling of Conservatives. He is a RINO like Bush.

Two, spell-checker is YOUR FRIEND.

Three, you're a blithering idiot.

I think that about covers it.

Alright
Fall in, maggots.

H.D., front and center.

Everyone take a good look at this pathetic puke.

Here he is, trying to covertly win votes for Obama. He actually thinks that we would be stupid enough to waste a vote and give Obama his chance to become the elected "messiah" of America.

H.D., you miserable puke, why don't you just come out and say you support Obama and get it over with?

As for me, it'll be a cold day in hell before I take any action that will help give Obama the edge in the upcoming election.

Fall out!

Apollo Post #25
BRILLIANT!

Obama is nothing more than a smooth-talking, immature, naive, socialist, liberal politician.

No American flag in Berlin? This dude is beyond pathetic.

morning grunts! Slam time on the libpukes is definately a 24/7 job.

Loyaldemocrat says . . .
Gotcha.
I wondered how long it would take for someone to explain LD to Brickhouse, Everyone's facts, and Litehouse.

Yes LD is a satirist and a pretty good one for off the cuff. The thing that sets him apart from our liberal friends is that he is actually logical and follows logic to reducto ad absurdiam. Which BTW is about the point that I realize what he has done.

SSGT
Good morning.

Have we forgotten?
have we forgotten when Oklahoma City was bombed by McVeigh? That there were three men sighted,
and there was a man hunt for one of them that was of middle eastern descent? Jayna Davis wrote a very informative book on the subject,
"The Third Terrorist," and identified the
M.E. man as Iraqi. The manhunt was suddenly
cut off and nothing more was written about him til Jayna wrote the book after serious investigative work. She did what media should
ALL be doing, but the idiots have taken over
so real reporting is few and far between. So
what can we conclude..Saddam was busy attacking
us, 168 people including little children were murdered. Bubba the hero of the aspirin factory
battle shut it down, like most progressives he's a flat out coward, and Obama is his clone.
Any argument of no WMD's and Saddam wasn't involved in terrorism is moot.

We know that many elites in business and politics were paid off by Saddam, why shouldn't we also believe that they weren't JUST Europeans. The DemonRATS have protested way too much, the cynic in me tells me there's more to it. Just as in domestic energy and the borders, follow the money.

Sophie
are you drunk?

Polls
Don't look at the polls, look at the Iowa Predictive Market. It has a better history. Dem 54 Rep 47.

What 0blahma's foreign trip proved
(1) "nature abhors a vacuum" (which Limbaugh calls implosion--though he restricted it to foreign policy, it's also true that any DOMESTIC policy of b0's will implode quickly)
(2) "better you keep silent and let people think you a fool than to open your mouth and remove any doubts".

For SSGT (#41) @ 08:24
wrong question to ask of Sophie--it needs to be "are you sober"? LOL

SSGT
Nope. I'm just tired of fighting with you guys.

Today I'm extending the olive branch and trying for a friendly discussion.

Success means never having to say you
are sorry.

Seriously, McCain gets defeat (and avoiding it). Obama (who actually was more equivocal as opposed to against the war at first when he was a state politician) looked at opposing the war when it was going badly as a sure thing. It was an abstract political position. Obama saw no downside in opposing the war (the idea of defeat was an abstract one and outweighed by the short term political benefits for the Dems and Obama). And Obama dogged Hillary relentlessly on the issue.

When even Katie Couric is now dogging Obama over it, you can see it is an opportunity for McCain. http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/07/obama-tells-kati e-couric-surge-worked.html

HD-Hitler
It really doesn't advance your argument to call someone with whom you disagree a Nazi or Hitler. It goes a long way to convincing me thay you actually might are a proponent of the big lie theory of debate and possibly a Nazi.

svpallava
I graciously stand corrected!
: - )
Although, I don't really believe that the real Sophie is rearing her ugly head here. Someone is having fun with us!

Obama was against, then for, then
against, then pro troops. I am dizzy with all these flip flops. Being a Democrat means never having to say you are sorry even when you lose!

Christopher Hitchens comments on how Obama has not had to pay a price for all of this (yet):

Shortly after Baghdad had fallen at a then-cost of perhaps 100 U.S. fatalities, he said publicly that there was no serious difference between the Bush position and his own. It was only by retro-engineering his politics, and pointing to a speech he had made in Chicago very much earlier in the Iraq debate, that he was able to create the idea that he had been both braver and more prescient than his rivals for the nomination. http://www.slate.com/id/2196190/

Alright
Fall in!

Sophie, front and center.

Let's see what this puke has to say.

"Nope. I'm just tired of fighting with you guys.

When the Limbaughs resort to namecalling you know you are on the right track. Shall we discuss McCain sitting like a dunce repeating I just know; I just know... in response to saying Maliki didn't mean what Maliki meant when he said Obama's timeline looked good.

McCain's judgement
As long as the right focuses on the Surge and not the overall FUBAR of the war in general, they will be on the losing end of the stick. The surge - which has not really succeeded, was a tactical decision made to try to save a completely failed policy decision - the invasion of iraq. The Limbugs - and droolers like him, keep hoping America will forget the war and praise the surge - and this after suicide bombers killed scores yesterday in Baghdad. Keep trying guys - it will be VERY lonely in Novemeber...

SSGT and Sergeant Slaughter
FYI I started out nice, and didn't go on the offense till you guys started treating me badly.

More of the same thoughtless, angry, knee-jerk responses.

Why can't you just accept me? Why must you always be so mean to me?

Hal "LMAO" Donahue
You can put lipstick on a pig all you want - it is still a pig.

With the fawning attention your candidate has received from the MSM plus the unpopularity of the Bush administration, the messiah ought to be 30 - 40 points ahead of McCain in the polls.

And the more he talks in an unscripted environment - the more amateurish and inexperienced he appears.

But being the loyal Dem soldier you are - you'll keep coming to these threads applying more lipstick.

Obama and Housing Hope

By Binyamin Appelbaum
Globe Staff / June 27, 2008
CHICAGO - "The squat brick buildings of Grove Parc Plaza, in a dense neighborhood that Barack Obama represented for eight years as a state senator, hold 504 apartments subsidized by the federal government for people who can't afford to live anywhere else.

But it's not safe to live here.

About 99 of the units are vacant, many rendered uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage. Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition.

Grove Parc has become a symbol for some in Chicago of the broader failures of giving public subsidies to private companies to build and manage affordable housing - an approach strongly backed by Obama as the best replacement for public housing."

Sophie says:
"Why can't you just accept me? Why must you always be so mean to me?"

Why - because the media tells you so? How often will you have to watch them get it wrong beofe you get it right? BTW - aside from daily tracking polls, state polls and reliable predictors have Obama in a landslide...

Yo Freddy...
As Sgt Slaughter would say:

Front and Center:

If the war in Iraq, which DOES include the surge, has been such a "policy failure," why has not the Democratic controlled congress pulled the funding for it?

And how are those gas prices going since the dems have taken control of congress?

Obama and Democrats on 1st Amendment

Obama, Liberals and Democrats claim they are heavily invested in defending 'Freedom of Speech'.

Unless you criticize Michelle Obama or Prophet Obama - that is 'unacceptable'.

"Re-Engage with the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC): As the world prepares for the post-2012 phase of the UNFCCC, the United States must regain its leadership role in multiple forums to negotiate effective climate agreements. This requires re-engagement with the diplomatic efforts under the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change . The UNFCCC process is the main international forum dedicated to addressing the climate problem and an Obama administration will work constructively within it." Barack Obama 'Change'

Reform Federal Transportation Funding: As president, Barack Obama will re-evaluate the transportation funding process to ensure that smart growth considerations are taken into account.Obama will build upon his efforts in the Senate to ensure that more Metropolitan Planning Organizations create policies to incentivize greater bicycle and pedestrian usage of roads and sidewalks, and he will also re-commit federal resources to public mass transportation projects across the country. Barack Obama on Genocide in Iraq

Genocide = the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group.

SUNAPEE, N.H. - Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday the United States cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces there.

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/national/politics/view.bg? articleid=1012561

Obama knows that the victims of a Genocide in Iraq would be the destruction of those who voted for Liberty, Freedom and the Right of the Iraq people to have a constitution and elect their own government.

Remember those women who proudly held up their purple thumbs?

Iraqi Women who for the first time in their entire life had a chance to seek freedom - women who have been victims of barbaric torture for centuries?

Those brave women will be first in the Genocide!

Barack Obama is more than willing to allow genocide in Iraq for political expediency.

Obama needs a whole fleet of buses to throw people under.

No. it will most likely be Shia's killing Sunnies - and since we know that Sunnies (actually, we means all of us but McCain - who doesn't know the difference) didn't vote, it will actually be purple thumbs doing the killing.

The polls of likely voters tends to be more accurate than the poll of registered voters.

Did you notice that a higher percentage of Iraqi voters showed up to vote in their elections, than show up for our elections?

Actual turnout for voting is embarrassingly low for the US.

Primus54: Not fair! The ONLY links

freaky freddy could possibly come up with are the skewed leftista polls....

But try this....

New Poll: McCain Leading Among Likely Voters!

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/07/new _poll_mccain_leading_among.php

"Not so fast with all the gloating over Barack Obama's lead in most of the national polls. A new USA Today/Gallup poll gives John McCain the lead among likely voters -- quite possibly the first poll in a long time to show this -- and Obama only a narrow edge among the wider pool of registered voters.

"The numbers: Among likely voters, it's McCain 49%, Obama 45%, with a ±4% margin of error. A month ago, Obama led 50%-44% in this group. Among registered voters it's Obama 47%, McCain 44%, compared to Obama ahead 48%-42% LAST month."

And for the libs among us, "Likely voters" are those who will most likely vote and most likely make the differece.

No bump for Obama....
A surprising poll released Monday confirms Sen. Barack Obama's worst nightmare: he actually lost ground to Sen. John McCain after a global trip meant to buck up his sagging credentials in foreign and military policy.

The USA Today/Gallup poll has McCain leading Obama by four points, 49 percent to Obama's 45 percent, among likely voters.

Not so Fast
"Democrats were no doubt looking to capitalize on the Iraq issue before it became apparent that the success of the surge had exceeded all but our most optimistic expectations."

These wing nuts say this over and over and I guess that makes it true.
Does any one think 5 million refugees is a success? Baghdad has been ethnically cleansed of their sunnis and those remaining have 12 foot cement WALLS separating them from the rest of the city. 350 people died in Bagdad Monday and the missing troops from Afghanistan have left things in serious situation. Maybe, most of all, as Pereus has noted, there has been no reconciliation between the Iraqis.

That's part of the problem with elections in this country. ANYTHING a Republican says is "name-calling". Read the top sentence carefully and look for any "name-calling".

And in debates, it will go something like this:

McCain: I believe my opponent lacks foreign policy experience.

Obama: Yeah, McCain screws sheep and pulls the wings off flies.

I look at Obama like a hit song and his supporters like music fans. Take some famous song like "Walk This Way" or "Viva Las Vegas". Catchy tunes, but no one knows the words, right? That's how it seems to be after an Obama speech. "How'd you like the speech?" "It was great!!" "What did he talk about?" "I don't know, but did you hear his voice?"

And that is fine for radio, but dangerous in politics.

Hal, you need to go back to the free clinic for some more needles.

Obama missed the perfect...
opportunity to prove he doesn't want to politicize his concern for wounded American troops while in Germany, but he did visit a gym to have a good workout and practice his jump shot.

In Berlin, Obama spoke to 200,000 cheering Germans, of course it was really a rock concert with free food and his speech was slipped into the middle. He used the foreign platform to express the view that he was a "fellow citizen of the world" and apologized for America's imperfections.

Later, he decided not to visit wounded American soldiers at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in southern Germany. When the Pentagon informed Obama's campaign that the hospital would be closed to the press and campaign staff -- only the senator and his official staff would be allowed in -- Obama decided to cancel the event.

Actions speak louder than words.

The job market out here is steady but not robust. Phoenix (incl Scottsdale) has more of everything - traffic, people, jobs, etc, for better or worse.

It's a big-time buyer's market out here for houses - some have been on the market for close to a year and the pressure on prices is downward.

If you go here, you can get a feel for the relative expenses of where you are/where you might move. Worth a look:

Obama better brush up on his dancing
There’s only so long that a toothy smile and confident gait can fool some voters (although I grant that liberal voters can be fooled indefinitely). Obama’s smoothness disappears the minute he has to think on his lanky feet, especially when he’s called upon to explain his unexplainable positions and contradictions. He might want to go back on the Ellen DeGeneres show and brush up on his dancing. He’s going to need to do a lot of that during the debates.

Let the stuttering begin!

Gosh darn you!

Quit foisting Hal on SF we have enough nut jobs here!

George Bush hates black people
Barack Obama hates white people...

About Hal's rants - I think that TH prohibits posting under the exact same name AND state by two people.

Maybe he really doesn't remember.

But hey, McCain didn't sell out some dump in Scranton. Hal's conclusion: Since McCain didn't sell out a dumpy arena in a dumpy town, Obama will win the national election. I see.
