Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The question, my fellow election watchers, is not, "Why won't Hillary do the honorable thing and quit?" but "Why won't Democrats do the honorable thing and quit trying to force her to?"

Did Democrats make Ted Kennedy quit when he fought Jimmy Carter through the Democratic convention in 1980 in an effort to dislodge pledged delegates though Carter had already secured a majority? That was far worse than anything Hillary is doing.

Until one of the candidates secures the magic number of delegates (a majority) -- and that number is a moving target, given the limbo status of Florida and Michigan -- there is no nominee. A plurality won't cut it.

Nor is the candidate with the most pledged delegates automatically entitled to the nod of the superdelegates or even most of them. The superdelegates are free agents, who may choose either candidate for any reason.

The superdelegate system was designed to give the superdelegates maximum prerogative, which only makes sense because the party bosses established it to ensure their own control over the nomination process. The whole idea was to give them the power to substitute their judgment for the will of the people if, in their political omniscience, they determine the people's choice to be not prudent.

Well, Democrats made their own bed. Just because they've encountered a recalcitrant candidate who will not march to their orders, they can't suddenly change the rules in the middle of the election -- a lesson they should have learned in Florida in 2000 -- and force the superdelegates to follow the pledged delegates. Free means free. The candidates may lobby for the supers' votes just as if, collectively, the supers were the last state.

Why should Hillary be deprived of her right to campaign in this one last "state," especially considering the dramatic changes that have occurred since the primary season began?

Indeed Hillary can make a compelling case that the superdelegate system was made to order precisely for the predicament in which Democrats now find themselves. The leading candidate in both popular vote and pledged delegates (putting aside the knotty issues surrounding Michigan and Florida), might be an entirely different person than voters in earlier primary states assumed.

Under the system they created, shouldn't Democrats be encouraging Hillary to give it her best shot to win over the supers? If she is correct that Obama is unelectable, she could theoretically persuade a very large percentage of them to vote for her -- enough to get her to the magic number. If it were not possible, the whole super-system of providing a safety valve against the initially popular but ultimately unelectable candidate would be a farce.

But a number of factors are complicating the situation. Most party bosses and the media remain in the tank for Obama and are incapable of objectively assessing his electability. They are in hot pursuit of those ethereal hopes and dreams about which he prefers to speak and from which he resents being "distracted."

There's also some ambiguity about Obama's declining electability, considering the North Carolina and Indiana primary results. But for the Obama-slanted demographics in North Carolina and Operation Chaos in Indiana, who knows what would have happened in those states?

But the main complication -- obviously -- is race. If the supers were to exercise their right to veto Obama as unelectable, they would be inviting an exodus of black voters that many fear could make the entire Democratic Party unelectable for the foreseeable future.

Regardless, Hillary still has every right to make her case to the supers, and she has strong arguments. Not only has the Obama candidacy proved itself to be a very risky proposition; Hillary has proved her mettle through this hotly contested ordeal.

Though I'm still as adamantly opposed to the Clintons politically as I've ever been, you have to give the devil her due. She began as the entitlement candidate -- kind of the Democrats' version of Bob Dole. But during the campaign, she was knocked all the way down to the curb yet pulled herself back up by her own bootstraps to be in contention again.

Against all odds, the infatuation of the media, the swooning of intoxicated Obama groupies, and the perpetual motion machine that is her annoying, gaffe-prone husband, she is still hanging in there. Her resiliency -- despite all her flaws -- is formidable, even if it springs from her lifelong obsession to acquire power.

Most party bosses and the media know Obama is seriously damaged and that it could get worse. But they're not about to abandon their phantom hope in his messiahship, especially not in favor of that saint turned demon hellbent on torpedoing their dreams. For that, they loathe her -- almost as much as they do the commander in chief of Operation Chaos.

"But the main complication -- obviously -- is race. If the supers were to exercise their right to veto Obama as unelectable, they would be inviting an exodus of black voters that many fear could make the entire Democratic Party unelectable for the foreseeable future."

This could only be good as it might force many blacks who have been seduced for so long by the lies and poverty entrapping handouts of the Democrat party to FINALLY wake up and see that the Democrats couldn't care less about them.

ALL the Democrats want is more power for themselves and everyone who gets in their way be damned.

Chuckles got his first post on....

Now, let's NOT let this twit hijack the thread.... and talk about all his inane ideas....

Ignore him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's focus on the column and the points.

Robert
You need to tell Obama's spokesman who said Operation Chaos won Indiana for Hillary that it was ineffective.

And anybody as obsessed with George Bush as you are shouldn't make judgments about others' obsessions.

Jackass...

That's ok Robert
It's a free country. You're allowed to be wrong. And you usually take more than full advantage of it.

Hillary would be long gone if it wasn't for Operation Chaos.
But in this post, just like in every other post you make, you speak from a position of totally unbelievable ignorance, and denial of the real world.

It must really be nice in your private little world.

Hillary for Supreme Court?
If she werre smart, thats what she would ask for to get out now. A lifetime appointment and a lifetime of being able to impact the Nation far more than any president.

But Hillary is not thinking clearly.

If she succeeeds in beating up and defeating Obama in the general election-her hopes for 2012 will be nil-without the black voters she will permanently antagonize.

She should cash in her chips now for a SCOTUS appointment.

Oh, dont worry, she isnt going to listen to me; she is insanely preocupied with being madame prez...

Good idea Anne
As I've stated in a few other columns where that idiot posted, he's so unbelievably stupid that it's not worth it to try to debate him.

So I just remind him how brain dead he is, and move on.

Let's not reply to WHO, Anne?
Is the Village Idiot posting in this thread? Funny, I don't see anything by him.

Are you sure you're not imagining it?

Sorry Robert,
I don't debate brain dead idiots that live in denial of reality.

You're wasting your time, and bandwidth, trying to prove your case, no matter what subject you're talking about, to me.

Neil Con: Exactly right... ol' Chuckles,

and doofus, and the other lunatic "typical liberals" (equivalent of "typical whites?) have the right to be stupid, and say stupid things...

And, guess what? Our troops are fighting for their right to be stupid and say stupid things!

Pretty amazing, isn't it???

Hey Primus... You're right! Axelrod

was REALLY upset.... "Whaa, whaa, whaa, Hillary lost and it's all Rush's fault.. whaa, whaa, whaa... Hillary would have won if it wasn't for Rush and his chaos thing... whaa, whaa, whaa..."

But, we know it's just "typical liberal" limited mentality.... "It's always somebody else's fault!!!"

Neil Con: We ran it through a very

sophisticated computer program.... and guess what?

Watching paint dry.. (specifically beige paint) and watching grass grow, requires MORE brain power than debating with Chuckles.

The devil you say? No really... It's true!

And guess what else??? Chuckles said on a thread earlier this week that he dislikes me! Can you imagine... My feelings were so hurt! :-(

You're right and wrong Anne
Our troops are figihting to protect our country from a lot of insane fanatics that would love to destroy us only because we don't share their religion.

Robert and Hal D just happen to be lucky enough to benefit from this. Though from reading the bilge they both post, especially where they attack our military and it's veterans, they truly do not deserve to benefit from the sacrifices of our troops.

But, the only amazing thing about Robert, as I've said before, is that someone so stupid is even able to remember to breathe in order to stay alive.

DAMN ANNE,
How about a spew alert before you post something like that 1:06 AM post. I'm trying to eat here.

ROFLMAO!!!

Neil, okay... I stand corrected!

You are indeed right..... AGAIN!

Neil... You didn't believe me????

Well, I rest my case!!!!

Actually Anne
I don't think you need to issue a spew alert as much as Wobbie does.
His trying to get a debate going with Neil Con is far more funny.

It just goes to show how desperate Wobbie is to be right, when everyone else KNOWS he couldn't be more wrong.

I finally see beyond all doubt why you named him Chuckles the Clown.

There's no question Anne
That I believed you. Seeing the idiocy of Roberts numerous posts in this thread alone is just more proof that he'd living in a world of denial.

That Operation Chaos has helped Hillary stay in this race has been proven beyond any doubt. But like a typicla liberal he'll never acceot it because he doesn't want to.

OH, David, I almost forgot
This is one of your better columns by far. Everything you say is right on the money.

Keep up the good work. Five stars.

DEAR LIBTURDS!
Check out the ANTI-LIBERAL ZONE TODAY! Friday, 9 May, for a dedicated essay to you LIBS! Don't wait, read it BEFORE you pass out like Hal Drunkahue does by 1200.

http://noliberalspin.blogtownhall.com/

Here's YOUR chance to protest...the man. NO more spitting on the troops, keying their cars, slashing their tires, or sending aid to the Islamofascists like Code Pink did in Fallujah, NO!

So check out the ALZ TODAY and remember, today is: "Liberals drive without your headlights night to protest something or other."

Wobbie
More likely it's another day of modeling your a**less chaps for Hal Drunkahue before he passes.

BTW, how's your BDS reconciling the fact that RINO Bush endorsed RINO McShamnesty?

Hillary is in it for the little guy?
Clinton will eventually concede to Obama around June 15th, later Obama will name her his VP running mate.
Nothing wrong with being the first female VP.

The FL and MI delegates and votes will be apportioned by amending the amended rules that struck them down to begin with by the DNC.

The Demoncrats will then spin the story that Hillary stayed in the race to make sure all the people were part of the process and that she just could not have FL or MI unrepresented at the convention.

It was not for her own political gain, it was all for the people.

I know Dick Morris will not agree to any of this, but I can’t remember the last time Morris was right about anything. Remember Condi vs Hillary?

Juan McCain..Holy guacomole!
Saw McCain on O'Reilly last night and he was in his own universe. McCain claimed he is an environmentalist and there will be no drilling in ANWR and other "pristine places". While most of the rest of the world is drilling and searching for energy, we will have our "pristine places", but nobody will be able to see them since gas will be in short supply. Thanks to, McCain and every other elected official for keeping us "pristine".

It will be a sad day in November when we have no choice other than McCain or Obama.

Now we want fairness?
Whats with this sensitivity of the Clintons. The Clintons can do whatever they want to other people and it's not only overlooked, but accepted this is what the Clintons do. Have the American people been so brainwashed in thinking the Clintons are the only ones who can dish it out and should never be on the recieving end. It's useless in trying to make a victim out of Hillary. You can't make a victim out of an elitist because they always carry the air of entitlement about the Presidency with them. To spin Obama's not electable, Obama's not the stronger candidate, and Obama is too short term of a politician to be nominated is convincing who? Hillary, saying she is the best and the stronger candidate to win the nomination isn't what I would call a compelling case. If Hillary had a compelling case to make, she would have done so to the American people and the Super Delegates would have followed. It seems Obama is the one who made the stronger compelling case with the people and the Super Delegates.

Townhall Coward ® (aka, "Robert")...
... can sure hijack a thread.

As I write this, there are 36 posted comments, 11 by the Village Idiot (and 1 by his alter ego).

Yeah. I'm SURE he's out there helping "freedom ring"!

sdeakins: That's incredible!!

1. "Clinton will eventually concede to Obama around June 15th, later Obama will name her his VP running mate."

2. "The FL and MI delegates and votes will be apportioned by amending the amended rules that struck them down to begin with by the DNC."

3. "The Demoncrats will then spin the story that Hillary stayed in the race to make sure all the people were part of the process and that she just could not have FL or MI unrepresented at the convention."

Wow! That's one terrific crystal ball you got there! Man, I gotta get me one of them!!!

"... I can’t remember the last time Morris was right about anything."

See if that crystal ball goes in reverse, and you'll see that since this whole campaign began (what? a decade ago... or so it seems!) NOT ONE pundit or strategist has called anything correctly.

McCain was officially dead in the water. HRC was not only THE presumptive dem nominee, she was THE presumptive next president! Doesn't look like that turned out..

BHO was a flash in the pan, and didn't really have a chance. Huh? Not bad for some guy who has won so many primaries.

Rudy was the presumptive Republican nominee. Humm, what happened to that?

Any pundit, strategist, or commentator, when asked what will happen, if they're smart, will say "Hey, I dunno know!!!"

I'm guessing by Wobbies "sigh"
in his 8:51 AM post, that he's jealous because he thinks that GunnyG has a "sexual obsession" with Hal Doofus instead of himself.

Or is it that he's worried that Gunny might try to take the Doofus away from him?
Not to worry Wobbie, I doubt that Gunny is going to try to take your "man" from you.
Unlike you, Gunny is a REAL man. He likes GIRLS.

If Queen Hillary were...
...light years behind Obama I could understand the push to have her bow out. I almost said "bow out gracefully", but I'm not sure what those odds would be.

I don't care for either one of them but from a practical point she does have a case and as it was said a better case than Scotch Kennedy had against Carter. She would be foolish not to take it on to the convention and plead her cause.

The Democrat party set up the super delegate system specifically for the situation they find themselves in now. To say that this situation is tearing the party apart is to say that the system itself is flawed, and maybe it is but these are the rules in place right now. Let the system play itself out. Florida and Michigan should not be seated because they were told at the time what the consequences of moving their primaries would be, likewise the super delegates should be given free reign to act as their own judgement dictates.

The democrats are always preaching the virtues of debate and dissent but now many of them are preaching "shut up and leave". If this tears their party in half then it wasn't that strong to begin with.

Townhall Coward ® (aka, "Robert") writes
"I will be off list...for a bit...conference."

Translation: "Time for another regimen of electro-shock therapy - I'm down to only a dozen voices in my head!"

Hey Robert
Get a job.

God bless Operation Chaos.

Chuckles is "Off list for a while."

That means the orderlies caught up with him and they're forcing Chuckles to take his meds...

Did someone say Hal and lather?
Where is the party at?

There are some who post here to whom I don't agree but I sometimes learn from them. Robert is not one of them.

When it comes to RJS, Hal, and Sophie, I use the Linus Van pelt method of reading "War and Peace." When Linus came to a Russian nane he just bleeped right over it. I now do the same with them.

Back to the topic; I have to agree with Limbaugh. Much as I dislike HRC, she does deserve her shot. Either way the convention goes, there will be a bunch of p!ssed off Democrats. What they then do is up in the air. Do they stay loyal to the party, vote for McCain, or just stay home on election day? At this point who knows beyond what the polls say.

LibTurds For Democracy
To be fair LibTurds spend most of their lives driven hard and put away wet and by definition have no obvious rules to guide there wide open legs for anything that feels good.Libturd by Definition is Generousal profuse and favorable to reform or progress, as long as it feels good, not to literal or strict,Free.advocates great political personel freedom. The only problem with that is they don't want to have to do anything that requires any sacrifice from that feel good mentality of no rules, little to no personal responsibilty for there actions unless its somebody else doing it, than they are the first to try to shove you under the bus if it will benefit them. they have spent this election showing everybody how well they play together, what a democratic example they have shown the American people on how they will better America.Hunting Libturds should be a sport.

my 2 cents
(Noone asked but) this is MY take:

Hillary has been consulting with high muckety-mux in the pahty and has made the decision to quit, but she will NOT announce it until after the last primary, when she will make a very graceful concession speech and urge all her supporters to vote for bo, yada yada yada. At that point all relevant and irrelevant dems will go into (pre-programmed) high-spin mode and (too) many platidudes will be uttered.

Who will bo choose as a vp candidate? There's an interesting question. It says here either the governor of Ohio or the gov of Pa. I can't remember their names but they're both governors of BIG states that will be CRITICAL in the general election.

good suggestion for dealing with robert - just skip him. In fact just call him "skippie".

To any
I usually don't do this, but there is a 911 conspiracy theorist if 2+2=4)on the McKenzie thread who states that military service members were involved not only in carrying out the 911 attack, but willingly helped cover it up. I know, I know, I shouldn't get this pi$$ed at an idiot, but I find the insinuation particularly galling. Any vets out there who wants a piece of him, be my guest; I already ripped him, but I'd like to see the moron dragged through the virtual street!!

Uncle Max
I see your take on this but what is the reasoning behind waiting. To my way of thinking by intending to quit but intentionally drawing it out risks a few things:

Your supporters who are expected to "stick it out" are going to feel used. Of course these are the Clintons so anyone associated with them must be familiar with that feeling.

It shows a lack of good money management, keeping a campaign alive even at idle has its costs. Then again true Democrat philosiphy states that throwing good money after bad is the first reflex.

It is hard to sell the gracious exit when everyone has been looking at their watches and all but ushering you to the door for weeks. But after having to pretend to believe in "I did not have sex with that woman", in relative terms it may come across as graceful.

I believe you are quite correct on the her supporters, all the Hillary supporters will be seen walking towards Obama with his outstreched arms to the sound of tamborenes, they will be greeted with flowers and sprinkles of pixie dust. The next time they are seen the cameras will show them in the crowd behind The Obama, glassy-eyed, smiling and swaying to the rythm of his speech.

As to his VP, I think your pretty dang close, Obama knows he needs some serious help to solidify his foundation and some Dan Quayle type isn't going to do it.

Missed the Boat Completely
David Limbaugh, like his brother is more than a few bricks short of a full load and completely missed the boat behind the “REAL” question in his own post.

The real question is why... do republicans want to be in a race with HRC when not only do they hate her guts, they loath the ground she walks on???

Could it be... They know republicans cannot beat Obama in November, they won't unseat him in 2012 and that they know Obama will put another democrat in the oval office when he leaves in 2016?

They know that if HRC get into the oval office she will only last 4 years and a republican will replace her.

I think Hillary wants to run in 2012, and so she's hoping for a McCain Presidency.

I can't stand her from an ethical and issues POV, but I do admire her toughness now.

Usually you have cool names; this latest is merely ridiculous.

I'm voting for Obama, at least. It will be interesting to see the liberals off the sidelines and in the game. Don't drop any passes, guys.

Doc
More reasons not to vote for mcCain, who is a shorter, older, paler Obama:

Sen. John McCain really does want to tempt the Republican base. ...

We've gotten our hands on an advanced transcript of this weekend's "The Chris Matthews Show" on NBC and the British Broadcasting Corporation's Katty Kay offered this nugget during the show's "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" segment:

"John McCain is going to be doing more of these themed tours of America, and one of them is going to be on energy and global climate change. It could get him into trouble with Republicans, of course, and with the base, who don't think there is much climate change going on, but it is something that he's very passionate about and he's going to be talking about it."

Obambi will do WELL to bring about trouble on a massive level after he "Neville Chamberlain's" the Islamofascists. Once they hit us, we can blame the libs...

BTW, how's Red Nanny doing draining that swamp of corruption? William Jefferson go on trial yet? Wait, he's black and black's get a free pass in the Dhimmicrat Party since it's an election year!

Did you read the essay libsqueeze or are you a relative of Chappaquiddick Ted Kennedy and merely blowing hot air.

You know that will make Saint Goreacle angry. Globull warming old boy!

Actually, Islamofascism IS a correct name. Fascism, like Liberalism, seeks total domination over the sheeple. Radical Islam seeks world domination. Radical Islam shares quite a number of traits with abject Liberalism. Maybe that's why you libs have wholeheartedly embraced dhimmitude.

Indeed, libs seek to ban everything. So does Islamofascism.

Libs seek to tell everyone how to live their lives. Oddly enough, so does Islamofascism.

Libs have dumbed down America in order to get their message of socialism out. Funny, the Islamofascists have their madrassas doing the same thing.

Bend over dhimmi, you know you want to.

Hillary and Making Choices
Hillary and Making Choices for People
"We just can't trust the American people to make those types of choices…. Government has to make those choices for people"
(From the book "I've Always Been A Yankee Fan" by Thomas D. Kuiper, p 20 - Hillary to Rep. Dennis Hastert in 1993 discussing her expensive, disastrous taxpayer-funded health care plan)
-------------------------------------------------
"The Nazis are well remembered for murdering well over 11 million people in the implementation of their slogan, 'The public good before the private good,' the Chinese Communists for murdering 62 million people in the implementation of theirs, 'Serve the people,' and the Soviet Communists for murdering more than 60 million people in the implementation of Karl Marx's slogan, 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.' Anyone who defends any of these, or any variation of them, on the grounds of their 'good intentions' is an immoral (NOT 'amoral') enabler of the ACTUAL (not just the proverbial) road to hell." -- Rick Gaber

"What nation does Al Queda belong to?"

Wow, you're almost as dumb as Al Franken who didn't pay his taxes in 14 states!

al-Qaeda is a GLOBAL movement and thanks to Jimmy the Dhimmi, they have a state to operate from (Iran) and other nations to operate from, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and aid and comfort from Chavez and Ahmadinejad, who both endorse Obambi.

It's no wonder you liberals have the well-deserved rep of being morons when it comes to national security.
