Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Barack Obama, stubbornly clinging to his right to be charismatically shallow, at first complained that Hillary Clinton was unfairly criticizing him for being all flair and fluff with no substance. Now he's upset that Clinton and the media won't let him discuss substance. Based on some of his speeches lately, I'm thinking he ought to be grateful for the diversion because his policy proposals might not survive serious scrutiny.

Maybe it's unfair to interpret literally Obama's repeated stump speech assertion that we Americans aren't perfect but are "perfectible" and conclude he possesses a New Age or secular humanist worldview rather than a Christian one, which clearly rejects the notion of man's perfectibility.

Then again, his policy proposals do sound strikingly utopian -- almost as if he's saying we truly can achieve perfection, end poverty, eradicate health care problems, establish universal harmony, legislate away all corruption, and attain wholesale energy independence without, by the way, liberating ourselves from the shackles of enviro-policemen, who forbid us from exploiting our own resources.

Obama's pitch to fawning audiences is so hopelessly idealistic and his promises so painfully unrealistic that it's amazing he's taken as seriously as he is.

If George W. Bush were to deliver the pap Obama routinely includes in his speeches, he'd be laughed off the stage. "Saturday Night Live" skits would be hard-pressed to exaggerate the vacuousness of his utterances. In fact, I'd be surprised if sympathetic journalists weren't cleaning up Obama's quotes before publishing them. But YouTube isn't so forgiving. "We believe we can change, and that's the kind of hope I'm talking about."

Obama says he understands that solving our problems "won't be easy," but when you listen closely, you get the sense he really does believe that with minor governmental tweaks, the problems will magically disappear.

When discussing the corrupting influence of money in politics, he implies that if we would just neutralize lobbyists, legislators would attend to the "people's interests" rather than "special interests."

But this fallaciously presumes there is a basic consensus among Americans as to what is in their (and the nation's) best interests.

Our differences are not just born of corruption or process. We don't always agree on what the problems are, much less their solutions. Even if it were possible to eliminate money corruption from politics, we'd still have the red-state/blue-state divide. We'd still have people in small towns, Mr. Obama, holding fast to their religion and their guns, and we'd still have an urbane coastal elite looking down their noses at them.

Purging the lobbyists would not usher in a new era of harmony; ideological differences, which proceed largely from worldview, have always existed and always will. If Obama were actually committed to unity, he could promote something less ambitious than ideological nirvana in America. He could encourage his fellow liberals to quit polarizing people on grounds of race, economic status or gender. Indeed, Obama contributes to poisoning those waters when he blithely states we'd do a better job of addressing our education problems if we didn't look at the plight of black and Latino kids and say, "That's not our problem."

Please speak for yourself, Mr. Obama, for it is liberals such as you who oppose school vouchers aimed at freeing kids from entrapment in inner-city schools.

Instead, Superintendent Obama will decree that government "invest" in early childhood education, presumably so Big Brother can begin the indoctrination process earlier. He'll make public schools put more emphasis on art, music, science and poetry. He'll make college more affordable to everyone.

Obama's unrealism also dominates his approach to foreign policy. He insists he doesn't just want to end our involvement in the Iraq war but "end the mindset that gets us into war." He admonishes us not to focus on the "common enemy," but on restoring "a sense of diplomacy." Employing a stunningly novel concept, he'd try to resolve our differences with other nations without resorting to war.

Setting aside that George Bush did exhaust all realistic diplomatic avenues before attacking Iraq, Obama's recurring theme rears its naive head again: We can all get along -- even terrorists -- if we remove the arbitrary barriers against believing in man's perfectibility and that even terrorists and tyrants aren't evil.

Obama's health care proposals are similarly fantastic. He would provide every American with coverage that's at least equal to that of members of Congress. With his executive wand, he would reduce everyone's premiums by $2,500 a year and outlaw exclusions for pre-existing conditions. Dr. Barack would also mandate that the health care industry focus more on prevention and primary care. But wait, there's more: He'll accomplish all this by the end of his first term.

This is just a sampling. But what's scarier than Obama's far-fetched promises is that people -- in droves -- believe them. We must hope others are paying closer attention.

Why don't you get some help. You're obviously disturbed and should be put in an institution where you're not able to harm yourself or others.

Letter from an astute Wisconsonian

With apologies to James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal for this lead:

http://www.journaltimes.com/articles/2008/03/03/letters_to_ editor/doc47c8b0697fa06704741663.txt

"Yes, We Can!

We got a kick out of this letter to the editor of the Journal Times of Racine, Wis. (third letter):

'I agree with Kim Morrison that Barack Obama would be a great president. I have hope that he can provide free health insurance for everyone.

I have hope that he can bring our soldiers home and make the world a safer place. I have hope that he can protect Americans from poverty by printing more money at the mints.

And, I have hope that he can make me a taller, more attractive, wealthier person, immune to all illnesses. The best part is that all of these will be accomplished at absolutely no cost to me.

Some skeptics would say that he can't do these things because he hasn't had enough leadership experience, foreign policy experience, or government experience. Some would say that Obama can't provide for all our needs without doubling taxes. And, some would say that he hasn't provided one piece of a specific plan to reach these goals.

Well, to those people I ask, "Where is your hope?"

All these years I've been creating accomplishments and gatherine [sic] experience to list on my resume. From now on, I'll just list my hopes and plans. All that work was so unnecessary.'”

The best way to deal with Woibbie the Village Idiot is to just flag all of his posts then ignore him.

DON'T even respond to him. That's all he's looking for is someone to reply to him so that he can tell them how much smarter than them that he is.

He's a loser as he'll soon enough find out, and he WILL get what's coming to him.

What soldier will die for a Pres who . .
will not salute the flag. We quote Obama, "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides,"

Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting
in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."

What are we thinking people?

Thinking outside the Box
Wish that was the case with Obama - that he really did have some ideas - because goodness knows - we need some solutions.
Thinking outside the box: We should use our technology to create a small miracle - something like the Jesus image found in the stain on a piece of bread caused by mold - but so much more. What if we created a God like image over the Islam nations - a great thundering voice - a bright light so bright that it could be seen for miles - an overwhelming image of God that told those heathens to give up their quest for world domination - that told those heathens to take care of their wives and children - to lose the explosive belts and take up a hoe or shovel and wheelbarrow - and try to improve this world! I think we could make it believable - and who is to say that would not be a work of God?

He complains about Substance?
Limbaugh writes, "...Now he's upset that Clinton and the media won't let him discuss substance.." and I would ask, WHAT SUBSTANCE. Is it the substance that calls himself a Professor when he's never been more than a lecturer? Or the Lawyer who never tried a case in his life? Or the lawyer who wasn't invited into Partnership?

In the legal community, that's the definition of LOSER.........

Lawyers who become legislators are those who can't make it in private practice.

Beware: Obamutopia
Hear! Hear !
This is so on-target that is should be reprinted on full pages in every newspaper in the land, and on every browser page....This Limbaugh article (not "Rush" but David) hits so many nails squarely on their proverbial heads...
This kind of rhetoric and cultist following has been seen before throughout the pages of history, should anyone bother to check...and it has ALWAYS be a prelude to DISASTER.
Whatever Senator O is smoking, it has gotten passed around throughout the crowds at all his festivals, because the droves of braid-dead, blind-eye an' deaf-ear lemmings have eaten it up as though they were starving prisoners being given their first real food in months....'not questioning if it is poisoned or not...'just lapping it up with a frenzy that belies rational thought. And the mainstream media has helped mightily, approving and condoning and glossing over everything...
When the Charlatan from Chicago crashes and burns, as he eventually must, will they be contrite, or simply say that we don't remember it correctly, and that they were "right about him all along"...'kinda like the weather forecasters...when they get it wrong, you never hear a peep out of most of them about that flubbed forecast...They've moved on to the next storm.

Robert and Obama's limo
Those two...did they respect each other in the morning?

To Rick, the grammar Nazi:
Splitting the predicate is quite acceptable in modern grammar. How about svaing the bandwidth for something of on topic substance?

Hussein. The Far Left Dream
The far left of America has been dreaming about a person like Obama.

George Soros will give him millions.

The Roberts of the world want to see him president.

A John Edwards clone minus the hairdo with San Franciso values and who gets ill when he sees an American Flag pin. This is Barack Hussein Obama. Pure ecstasy for the left. Their perfect guy.

The weakest president in the history of the nation if elected, Obama, like Edwatds, can't wait to surrender America. The terrorists of the world are licking their chops.

The truth about change......
Having worked in Change Management for some time, I can tell you two things I've learned about change:

1) Most people want novelty, not change.

2) Most people want the OTHER guy to change, so their lives will improve without them having expend any effort.

The only thing Obama will be able to deliver is a truck load of disappointment.

Back to the '60s
And I thought Al Gore was the 21st Century Pied Piper! Now we all know it's Barack Obama, a child of a '60s hippie couple who thinks if we all get together and sing "Kumbaya" the world will be made whole again.

This is what a Harvard education produces today?!

Excellent article
Obama is a dangerously naive and shallow man who hopes people will buy the ultra-liberal socialism he's trying to sell. His ideas are totally against our democratic/republic government and our capitalistic system in which Obama has benefited enormously although using unethical connections. Obama uses others. He is a dissembling equivocator and an obnoxious self-serving egotist, empty of any meaningful understanding of the problems the United States - which Obama and Michelle declare such a mean place - and the solutions to keeping the USA a safe and profitable democracy. As Obama continues to pull dead rabbits out of his hopeful magic black hat, voters see what a sham he is.

Jerseyvet
Just what I was thinking. HEY, OBAMA! THE [BLEEP]ING SIXTIES ENDED FORTY YEARS AGO! THEY ENDED WHEN YOU WERE SIX YEARS OLD! The Bloody Sixties were nonsense 40 years ago, and they are nonsense today. The more I listen to Obama and his airy persiflage, the more I remember why I spent Vietnam Awareness Day at Huntington Beach yoo-hooing at surfer boys.

The stuff Obama retails is born of a breathtaking inexperience with reality that fails the day one discovers that toilet paper does not grow on the toilet roll and if one spends all ones money on pot, one has no money for toilet paper.

This man is not qualified to run a hot dog cart. Why is anyone listening to him at all?

B. Hus-Change Obama
The reason Obama thinks of himself as a uniter is because he is "enlightened" in his own mind. As such, and as "enlightenment" is the end-all-be-all for the Left, he believes (I'd bet quite seriously) that all he has to do is show the ignorant masses (who cling to religion, guns, and bigotry) that true enlightenment comes from the Left and is always good. And if he can just convince people of that, then everyone will live in harmony.

Nevermind that the Leftist "enlightenment" is antithetical to the mindset of a great many people.

Nevermind that the "enlightened" mind disregards the existence of evil itself and evil people, assuming that all people are inherently good and those who do bad things are merely misunderstood, oppressed, or a product of a bad (un-"enlightened") society.

Nevermind that Leftist "enlightenment" contains many facets that are themselves evil: Abortion, tolerance of sin, non-theism, being cared for by the government (which promotes the cardinal sin of Sloth), and moral "relativism" (which is an oxymoron, anyway.)

AudiR10
Amen on your 7:37 post!

We Never Learn
I'm barely old enough to remember the Carter days, but I do remember Carter making the same type of utopian promises during his campaign....especially the, "If we're nice to our enemies they will love us" garbage.

A twisted part of me wouldn't mind an Obama victory....just so our current generation will learn firsthand why liberalism is a disaster, and possibly pave the way for a true conservative president, ala Carter/Reagan. But then I remember that we are still dealing with Carter's messes 30 years later.....

Independent Thinker
Rick's superfluous comments remind me of Churchill's classic: "That is the sort of arrogant pedantry up with which I will not put."

For scarlettsnow
Don't forget to add "ordinary poliical hack" to your description of Obama. There is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, that distinguishes this leech from any of the rest of the political class that aims for political power purely for selfish reasons.

We have become a society where those that can, do, and those that can't, run for office. It is no wonder we have elected federal officeholders, who have run the businesss of gov't in the red for more than 50 consecutive years, pontificating about the imperfections of business in the private sector; private business without which thes political pontificators would have no one to tax and would either have to get a real job (fat chance) or starve.

Obama is just the next in an endless line of empty suits who thinks he's smarter than everyone else when in fact he's dumber than the head of any household who can manage the household budget and balance the family checkbook.

Presidential Election 2008
Mr. Limbaugh,
Despite Obama’s natural liberal inclination, for those who choose to see everything in the universe through the prism of liberal vs. conservative, despising the former and revering the latter, rather than evaluating all ideas for their possible merit in helping to solve U.S. and Global problems, it should be remembered that, all laws must be enacted by congress, of course, and that compromise is the name of the game in getting things passed.
To some of us who have forever lived on the Republican side of the fence, Obama represents a breath of fresh air and we believe deserves serious consideration if he, in fact, is the 47 year old Democrat nominee in November vs. the 72 year old Republican nominee John McCain.
On October 2, 2002, Barack Obama’s judgment told him that starting a war in Iraq would be a big mistake and he forcefully said so. Much to the contrary later that same month both Senators Hillary Clinton and John McCain voted for funds authorizing President Bush to begin the Iraq war.
When Barack Obama decided to run for president, unlike Hillary Clinton and John McCain, he made the significant decision that he would not accept campaign contributions from lobbyists and political action committees. It was Barack Obama’s judgment that it would be very much preferable for the next President of the United States to be elected by the American people without the distorting influence of the money peddlers in Washington. (Cont.)

Presidential Election 2008
Suppose the 44th President of the United States is someone, who among many other things, has refused to accept campaign contributions from political action committees and lobbyists, but has financed his campaign solely from the contributions of people to whom he is accountable.
Furthermore, suppose this idea of raising money for political campaigns solely from the voters to whom the candidate is accountable sits so well with the American people that they come to expect that future presidential candidates as well as candidates for other offices such for the US Senate and House of Representatives will do as Barack Obama has done. What if candidates who continue to accept campaign contributions from political action committees and lobbyists find it increasingly difficult to get elected?
That’s the kind of change that Barack Obama represents which concerns so many in Washington who don’t seem very eager for the American people to reclaim their democracy from the influence of political action committees and lobbyists, the Washington money peddlers who currently arrange to provide huge amounts of financial support to political candidates whom they believe have a good chance of winning, and whom they can then “work with” later on.(Cont.)

Presidential Election 2008
This election is not about whether you happen to be a woman or a man, or whether your father happened to be a black man or a white man, an Asian or a Hispanic, and it is not about the strict adherence to a particular political philosophy. This election is about the future of our country.
We are at a historic moment in America. Barack Obama is a very special candidate for president who can bring about significant changes in Washington and help ordinary Americans begin reclaiming their democracy.
Both the Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, and Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey Jr. know this and have recently endorsed Senator Barack Obama, recognizing Obama’s integrity, intelligence, and the strong leadership he can provide as president.
It is time for voters in Pennsylvania and in all of the other states soon to vote in presidential primary elections to stand up and be counted. It’s time for ordinary Americans to begin the process of reclaiming American democracy by voting for Barack Obama.

Obnoxious Rick: Strike 3 & YOUR OUT!
Enough already....

Yeah, whaa whaa whaa... Not there's presidential material!

"'perfectible' and conclude he possesses a New Age or secular humanist worldview rather than a Christian one, which clearly rejects the notion of man's perfectibility."

Well, if you'd listened to Michelle Obama's speeches, she's telling us just how Obama will make us perfect... all the things he will no longer let us do.... Quite interesting, I thought.

Oh, and according to Michelle Obama, BHO is pretty much a Marxist.

Obama & Lib Delusions: Perfect Together
refatswew: What are you smoking? Barack Obama has zero executive experience. Zero. What he is promoting are the usual liberal bromides that don't work. Subsidized poverty plus nationalized healthcare plus tax-crippled trade policy equals a severely wounded economy equals a probable depression.

The rest of us are fighting real enemies like fanatical Islamic terrorists and a struggling economy while liberals are off fighting fantasies like Global Warming and a so-called broken health system. Never mind that nationalized health plans are failures everywhere they're tried. Check Canada and Great Britain.

Barack Obama is the biggest fraud since Al Gore but far more dangerous to America.

I'll say it again
With his secular perfectability of man, and striving to be the leader of the free world, Obama is simply the ANTICHRIST. Beware.

On voting, a thought
The idea that not voting will impress or sway the larger number of people is a self-gratifying thought of which only the thinker will take notice.

The idea of voting for a Democrat at a time when we have Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as Congressional leaders is an ill-considered thought.

We are at a time that will prove to be so impactful as to our country, our society, our freedoms, it is time for the ranting to give way to involvement on the local and state levels and with making yourself and your thoughts known to the national leaders.

refatsew
So you found one reason to vote for Obama and he suddenly becomes a god to you. You have written 3 pages about one posistive thing about Obama. Now he is going to save us from our sins. Open your eyes and examine this man. (and I mean just a man) I am not seeing integrity, wisdom nor leadership.

Icedog
I do not think that we have the luxury of time and circumstance to elect either Obama or Clinton to make a point or teach a lesson.

jerseyvet
You ask -
"This is what a Harvard education produces today?!"

Sorry to inform you, BUT this is what a Hahvahd education has produced for a long, long time!

So long in fact that the 'disease' has spread to almost every college campus in the country already!

For God And Country

Beware: Obamutopia
I cringe to think what will develop if Obama is elected President. The utopias he lays out are impossible and when they collapse many people will be sadly dissolustioned. When reality hits I wonder if his mind will survive it. Only then will we know if Obama has anything in him.

Our government should be honest with the American people. Terroism will not go away and we need to summon every resource we have to combat it. The price of oil will only increase and we need to work toward developing other sources of energy.

America is in even greater danger than when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, launching us into WW 2. It angers me that liberals paint their picture of starry eyed socialistic utopias. America will take up the cause but it's government has to summon them to it.

refatsew
It is true that Obama does not take money from lobbyist firms, but it has been reported that he has taken a great deal of money from individuals who work at those firms.

Obama is nothing but a facade. His aura of greatness is diminishing. In the past several weeks, we have come to know exactly who he is, and it certainly not the uniting savior of the nation.

AynRandLives: I'm afraid you might be

right!

I've had that sinking feeling for a long time....

Joycey
Forget about it. refastew is gone. He's been running around posting the same thing on different threads for days. He's already on his way back to Obama for President HQ. He also stops at the Moveontraitors.org office, gets his check and waits for further instructions.

Just a Symbol?
I heard an interesting point on Hannity's radio show yesterday. Obama says he doesn't wear a flag pin because it's just a symbol, not true patriotism. So, why does he wear a wedding ring?

Also, he claims he constantly criticizes his country because he loves it.....does he use the same tactic with his wife?

Icedog
Just a putting his hand over his heart during the Pledge and Anthem is an outdated symbolic gesture.

Well. . .
I have a symbolic gesture for Mr. Obama, but it isn't very patriotic! And a lot of people will be giving it if BO becomes president and tries to force his socialist garbage down our throats.

There had to be a Jimmy Carter......
before there was a Ronald Reagan. Senator Obama’s attraction is the fact he is the most extreme expression of the “empty suit phenomena” to stand at threshold of the Presidency. An Obama term will make Americans remember the Carter years as the good old days. In contrast a McCain/Lieberman administration will accomplish nothing but the final dismantling of Reagan’s big tent. GO OBAMA, THE PRESIDENT AMERICA DESERVES!

Rockhead J. Squirrel Scribbles:
Want to do something patriotic...? Do something that requires sacrifice on your part...that of course would be asking to much.

The right wing talks a big game but do something?

What would be asking too much is for you to go aay and never return.

Robert
Note to Robert---Bush is not running, the article is not about Bush, if you want to talk Bush find an article about Bush, find a comment made by me and post there. . .

And besides, I thought you were a McCain "Mutineer"? I will also have a symbolic gesture for McCain if he becomes president and decides to stab the American people in the back with his border policies!

The blueprint is still there...
for the Representative Republic that was established by the founders.

Too bad as time has marched on our representatives in government have sought ways not to enforce and secure our liberties but to limit them with their eyes on a more personal prize, that of increasing their own power and wealth.

They have placed themselves on pedestals and told us that common people are incapable of taking care of themselves and raise their families.

They are the stewards of all the nations treasures, entrusted by the people to honor and uphold us, keep our nation secure and defend our liberty.

The pursuit of happiness has become the extent of involvement for many Americans. Only when something interferes with that pursuit do we hear from them.

Ever hear of "oversight" and "steering" commities? We have let our elected representatives twist and tweak the founding documents to the point that they no longer secure our liberty or our sovereignty.

Statesmen have been replaced by politicians and a strong, freedom loving people by people willing to give up liberty for government assurances. Assurances that are both unrealistic and impossible, believing the glib tongued politician's motives are pure as the driven snow.

Caveat Emptor, let the buyer beware!

Rockhead J. Squirrel Scribbles:
Finally you have lost on immigration. There is going to be a bill in the next Congress that will pass no matter who is President that looks a whole lot like McCain's bill...except if McCain is President I believe him when he says he will put enforcement first.

McCain's actions have already spoken much louder than his words. He has actively demonstrated that border enforcement is purely secondary in his views on immigration. His current epipjhany on border enforcement will last until 20JAN2009 if he is elected, then I suspect that he will revert to form.

Robert
Boy are you nuttier than fruitcake. . ."Bush's 3rd term". . .LMFAO!!!!With the Dems THAT would be nothing more than a symbolic gesture.

And, I'm afraid to tell you that the LIEUTENANT was spot on!

1. Anyone above the rank of O-4(that's a Lt. Commander in the Navy, RARELY fly missions at all, let alone night missions, and certainly doesn't do "Night Patrols."

2. Such missions are given to the junior officers so they can get flight experience.

3. Once an officer rises above O-4, the military considers the officer too valuable to risk on such potentially dangerous missions (unless it's absolutely necessary.)

4. NEVER would an officer in any branch that be so publicly disrespectful of his Commander In Chief.

5. If an officer were to be so disrespectful, he'd have been brought up on charges (and we know what they are, don't we?)

So, Chuckles, WHAT SAY YOU???

Robert someone said you have a new career - is that true?

Yep, he's a yeti matchmaker.

WAIT A MINUTE! David's Brother HAS ALREADY described Robert the Coward. PHONY SOLDIER!

Obama is more dangerous BY FAR than OBL. Obama’s Policies are Covert Terrorism that will destroy America more thoroughly from the inside than OBL’s Overt Terrorism will destroy us from the outside.

Drag Queen = Robert the Coward in a Wig and a Depens driving his Yugo in the fast lane.

Robert
The American people view McCain above the party?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Stick to your day job Wobbie because you know nothing about politics.

Oh that's right....your incapable of getting a real job!

I think I will print some of your posts and send them to a friend working on McCain's campaign. I wonder what he will think of 'your' support.

Unrecognizable
If one removes any of the "Phony Sailor's" (aka, Robert's) faux McCain support from his drivel, his comments are indecipherable from the posts of the far left drones who come here.

Ronald Reagan (may he rest in peace), does not "know" this phony Republican.

Run along, "Phony Sailor"!

oh you guys
We all need classes in RRA (Robert Responders Anonymous). Don't you know he just makes up facts as he goes? If you say the sky is blue he will say green, if you say the sun will come up today he will say it will stay night and then proceed to give evidence of it. lol.

Your all wasting your time responding to the waste of oxygen in Robert.

Georgetwin et al
Someone said that Robert was actually the "transvestite swooner" at the Obama gatherings.

When the emergency room asked how he was going to pay - Robert produced a autographed picture of Hillary that said "Support Universal Healthcare".

Lolo1 writes: "Stick to your day job....

EXCUSE ME, Lolo. But this IS Chuckles "day job."

He comes to TH to DELIGHT, AMUSE, and ENTERTAIN us.

Robert and Larry Craig
Someone said that Robert is taking "tap dancing" lessons from Larry Craig.

Craig was reported as saying "Robert is a natural" almost like he was already trained.

Robert the Coward
You are the one who posts 24/7. Yet you say I DON'T HAVE LIFE! You claims to be flying Night Patrols in Iraq, yet you show up MINUTES LATER on another thread. Were you born a Coward or did you become one when you became a Liberal like your Back Door Buddy, Hal Drunkahue?

The ONLY thing BHO has going for him

is his charming, charismatic rhetoric...

And it's amazing just how many people hear only HOW charismatic he is, and aren't listening to his actual words and substance.

No wonder he's so concerned about being caught on his "gaffs." Those gaffs are what he's really about.

Robert represents Toetappers
Someone said that Robert represents the "Toetappers of America" and intends to run for the presidency of that group.

Robert writes: "All you old dudes

who cant get it up seem obsessed with sex...are you gay! LOL"

Now WHO'S obsessed??? Huh... maybe Chuckles is gay... what do you think????

I have a bone to pick with him. He made some statement about america having lower living conditions.

so: if he comes on send him this message:

You can run, but you can't hide. I will be asking that question on every

Apparently his day job isn't paying well because he is obviously uneducated and he obviously cannot afford his medication.

Usama Bin Obama

BTW, did anyone see the story about The CNN Reporter arrested in Central Park at 3:40 AM with a bag of Crystal Meth in his pocket and one end of a rope tied around his neck and the other end around his pen!s?

Robert and Freedom of toetapping
Someone said that Robert said:
"that being occasionally hit on while in the airport bathroom is a price of living in a free society."

Georgetwin
Wobbie has a life. He has a life of lies so he really doesn't need to get a real one when lying is so much easier.

CKHustler
Hal has made that stupid statement before.

Swoon phase now over
Obama is like the adolescent who has mastered a video game and now believes in his own infallibility in all matters large and small. On one level, this childlike naiveté is appealing in its stunning innocence. But on a serious level, it absolutely disqualifies him for high office of any sort, for it reveals a delusional mind.

Now that the initial swoon phase has passed, this reality is creeping into the nation's consciousness and will doom him in November.

Obama can't lose...
If he fails in his quest to become our next president, he could be an instant success selling the "Amway" marketing plan.

we already know that in the oblahma house who wears the pants and makes all the decisions. The missus oblahma has a bigger pair and is more of a man than the mister. She has the guts to prove that wright's message was recieved and has no trouble vocalizing the victimization mentality that the libs love to enable.

The problem with the oblahma is that he is too much in touch with his feminine side. But he can become the prefect candidate. Since he lacks a real pair all he need do is show up with lipstick and a dress and all the coastal elites will faint in the throws of rapture at their perfect candidate. A black tranny with distain for all things masculine, like aversion to football and war as too violent will win countless new whorshippers at the throne of the new elitist messiah.

It still remains a mystery why the beer and pretzel crowd is enraptured with the brie and chablis set. But I guess when you are making promises that they interpret as a big new house, fancy vacations and the big screen plasma there are those who will line up to buy the latest version of the snake oil the dims have been selling for generations.

But what happens when the bills for the new oblahma utopia come due. But I guess the oblahmaidiots just think the govt will fire up the old printing press and run off the necessary dollars to pay for paradise

Georgetwin: Pa-lease! Of course Chuckles

is the one with "NO LIFE!" Which is why he's our "Walter Mitty" on steroids.

First of all, even an Ensign wouldn't post the drivel, much less be so sloppy (spelling and grammar errors) as Chuckles does...

And NO Navy Officer would violate the UCMJ, much less as blatantly as Chuckles does, and on a consistent basis.

And NO Navy Officer would ever be as disrespectful as Chuckles is...calling Michelle Malken the names Chuckles calls her, and referring to Pres. Bush as "Arbusto.'

And NO Navy Officer would post such egregiously INCORRECT things, such as claiming to do "night rounds" when rarely, if ever, do Navy pilots above the rank of Lt. Cmdr. ever do that.

Navy Officers are expected to be gentleman... which leaves out Chuckles.... from the get go.

Which, of course, is why Chuckles won't address the points made in my post above. LOL

Please provide sources for your quotes.

Mr. Limbaugh self icrimination?
If my Republican Party was as good as it claims to be, this guy Limbbaugh would have no platform from which to preach to the wind. My party is now better labeled: The Imperial party taking America down the road all previous Empires traveled, including the British Empire. Yes, while America has been declared in full bankruptcy status, by the top man at the OBM, at the tune of up to 60 trillion dollars, if my information is correct, and sending the bill to, God only knows what future generation, should there still be an American generation remaining alive, as was the hopes and dreams of the Founding Fathers for America to be rock of Gibraltar for time immemorial. Ron Paul was and is ready to return America back from sure self-destruction but ever so berated, by the one that to my satisfaction I have labeled as nothing but a refried Mr. Hitler. Yes, I am legal immigrant of 52 years, hence my remarks and more enomorate with all that the Founding Fathers legated to America for the sake of humanity all over the world, where no more wars were to solve problems, but now America is the most bellicose nation ever. Yes, Empires always went down at their peak in military might, of which the British should be a reminder to America.

1st to the idiots
Does no one any more have a full proof b.s. detector?

Above some fool idiot thinks Obama said this:
“As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides,” Obama said. “There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.”

and results as good as our country.

This from me, who thought the private health industry in the U.S. would
show the world how we would have as good or better results at half
the price - you know the cliche about private vs. public.

In the last 15 years it hasn't been so.

And insurance only accounts for $800 of the cost.

So, somethings amiss.

And it might already be too late for health industrial complex

Robert
Thanks for the "F minus". I've told you before that your "F' awards are a badge of honor.

So...

Since you seem to be all about keeping the records straight, could you please explain why you refuse to answer this simple, yes or no question?

"Are you an active duty Captain in the United States Navy?"

(Readers, prepare for either obfuscation, complete ignorance of the question, or "exit time" for poor Robert)

Obama
wants more and more government, just as Hillary does.
Why can't people see that the more the government steps in, and takes over, the more screwed up things become?
The government stepped in and told the money lenders to make sure that the "poor" could acquire loans to buy a home. So the money lenders did what they were told. What happened? The crash of the mortgage industry. Foreclosures, bailouts, etc etc.
We fell for the global warming scam, and began making biofuels from corn. Now there is going to be a food shortage because the cost of food has doubled, and farmers aren't producing wheat, they switched to corn. Even though it takes a gallon of fossel fuels to make a gallon of bio fuel. For the first time in history, we are having to import wheat. When in times past, we had an abundance to ship abroad.
Government has no business in the roll it is taking in our lives. Each day, we lose more and more freedom. Just stop and think about it. Even the stupid light bulbs. We are going to have to use these stupid bulbs that are dangerous, and impossible to clean up if you break one, unless you happen to be rich.
The governmnet acts as if we are 4 years old, and can't take care of ourselves about anything!! Just stop and think about all of the things the government has stuck it's nose into, and how it affected Americans in a negative way.
Government leave us alone!!

Robert
You must be in your glory today. Despite the post by Marine's Dad (2:17 a.m.), the folks here can't get enough of you.

You know Robert you really are part of the TH family. What would we do without you? Robert, listen to me. You should contact the TH staff and see about your own column. Call the column something cool. "Robert Speaks" has a ring to it. I bet you'd draw 700 to 800 posts right from the get-go! And, of course, everyone would be just thrilled as you opine on the political scene.

WOW! Think of it. Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly AND...................ROBERT!

GB and diplomatic avenues before Iraq
GBII did not exhaust all avenues - he could have gone along with the
security council and imho made the U.S. the leader of the world in
combatting tyrants.

He then could have created votes that would lead to war.
There was no rush to go to war from an American interests perspective
and we could have had the security council on board for an intervention
in Iraq. This line by Limbaugh was b.s. for all of us, since we are all old
enough to remember the world was AGAIN on board with us and
weapons inspection.

Sophie

What part of failure to comply with 17 UN resolutions do you not understand?

...and please name this country with socialized medicine that has "better" medical care than the US

Utopia
There is a difference between selling yourself and selling what you believe in.

THere is a difference between promising to try to improve the United States of America and offering to make it a Utopia.

Do the citizens of this country want socialism?
Is that the change we are looking for?
Are we desiring to put our HOPE in a person that plans to use socialist methods to create a Utopia?

Well, socialism will not create a Utopia.
It's been tried many times and it always fails.

If Obama claims faith in Jesus Christ then he should know that Utopia is not possible in this world.

Lolo1 writes:

YOU KNOW Wobbie cannot answer you. He is in Special Forces and he has to find a way to get Toilet Paper to Aisle 12 while avoiding the spill on Aisle 9.

We are the change....what a crock
In the MSM echo chamber in the Democratic primaries, it's no wonder that libs and Dems are optimistic that Barack Obama has a serious shot at POTUS. But the equation is simple, is this country, on balance, more conservative or more liberal. Despite what polls measuring "right track" and "Bush's approval rating" are telling you, what they most certainly are NOT telling you is that America is a liberal country in 2008. No, I would say that most Americans...60 percent or more...are conservative, and abhor the kind of radical change that an uber-lefty like Obama is proposing and, moreover, in a grim battle against Islamofacism, do NOT want to turn the reigns over to a liberal. Liberals are good at negotiating...negotiating our freedoms away and our principles. Liberals will paint a large and inviting target on our nation. So, in summary:

On election night, pay attention liberals, because you are going to be watching a horrifying mostly red tide flowing from east to west as a flawed, but much more conservative candidate utterly demolishes your ultra-liberal poster child, who, thanks to the MSM and Democratic primary echo chamber, had you convinced that America was some sort of liberal, socialist Utopia crying out for change. Buy your Kleenex's now...while the price is still lower per box than a gallon of gas....(hint: the demand in November will really really drive up the cost).

Sweden and Healthcare
"While Sweden is a first world country, its health care system - at least in regards to access - is closer to the third world. Because the health care system is heavily-funded and operated by the government, the system is plagued with waiting lists for surgery. Those waiting lists increase patients' anxiety, pain and risk of death."

Sweden enjoys a 90% income tax rate.

This is the "Hope and Change" promised by Obama.

Sophie
As a self-professed leftist, why are you wasting your time rehashing the "evils" of the Bush administration?

Bush is not on the '08 ballot.

Why don't you instead convince us why we should support your candidates?

Or is you "copy & paste" talking points memo void of any such arguments?

Sophie
After reading your multiple inane rants about Bush I had to go back and read Limbaugh’s column again. Turns out my memory was correct...the article is about Obama and his naïve and dangerous ideology.

I’ve heard repeated and long-term marijuana use can effect memory and concentration, but please try a little harder to focus.

Obama on Hope and Change
British Dental care.
---------------------
"Health service dentists have been forced to go on holiday or spend time on the golf course this month despite millions of patients being denied dental care.

Many have fulfilled their annual work quotas allotted by the National Health Service and have been turning patients away because they are not paid to do extra work. This is despite the fact that more than 7m people in Britain are unable to find an NHS dentist." London Times
-------------------------------------------------

This is the "Hope and Change" Obama promises.

everyones facts
You lost me at "security council". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Don't ever bring up anything to do with the UN when discussing security matters of the US. Why on God's green earth would we need the votes of the security council to go after a dictator that had been making war overtures to all of his neighbors and invaded two of them over the previous 23 years? Why would we need them to do absolutely nothing like their inspectors had done in Iraq for 13 years? The Clinton admin themselves were onboard with weapons of mass destruction. My opinion is that if we ever invade Syria, low and behold we'll find 90% of what we were looking for.

First 2 steps toward Utopia
First - Repeal the cush retirement plan our Representatives have provided for themselves, which provides full salaries for the rest of their lives. Those who are so want to take the money they would save by leaving Iraq and spend it on social programs can start by renouncing their "pension", and starting a fund by donating it.

Second - Drug tests for all social aid. I have to drug test for each new contract I work on......time to demand the same for welfare, WIC, food stamps, and all these other social(ist) programs. Test clean, or no bennies (or drugs, or booze).

Obama was right? No not really since even a blind squirrel finds a nut once and awhile. It is also easy to be right and make proclamations when you aren't a sitting Senator.

My point about your video and quotes is your cherry picking and not taking information as a whole. Really nothing new there though. SSDD!

As to Niger the only thing they have to export is yellow cake.

I thought the video of Bush looking for weapons under his desk was funny. How do you know what the families of soldiers thought? Are you psychic? I think not. Do all liberals have their sense of humor removed?

As to damage to our standing in the world another media myth but who cares? I don't. Making tough decisions doesn't make one popular, ask any parent or ask your boss.

Our freedoms? How free do you have to be to blow up innocent people? We are the corrupt and God hating western scourge. But it's ok, Obama will make all of it ok. Ahhh yes.
That was at the same time he said he "would not accept money from oil companies" (those evil oil companies).
And he ALSO promised to use "only public funds" as did John McCain.

So, when one of the first things Barry did was to accept money from (of all the PACs he could have chosen) Hillary Clinton's PAC (!!!) he started the lying that hasn't stopped yet!

Just the other night (Wednesday) he was asked about "accepting money from lobbyists & from oil companies" which he of course denied doing.
BUT his parsing of the FACTS was at the very least dishonest if not (once again) an outright lie!
You must remember the answer - He O'Blamed his "campaign" for accepting lobbyist cash...

Then just for good measure & a bit of clarity (as Barak sees it) claimed that accepting money from OIL COMPANY EXECUTIVES & THEIR FAMILIES was not the same as accepting money from BIG OIL COMPANIES...HUH?

As for the "public funds"...I notice how McCain is sticking to his word...but Obama is NOT!!

Another promise broken and this AMATEUR hasn't even gotten the Dem-Lib nomination yet!

Yup, that's CHANGE all right.
Call me a bigot or racist if you are upset by this but honestly, the only CHANGE I see is that Barry is black where in the past the Lying-Lib candidates for President have all been white.

Anne - Hope and Change
Anne how about this for 'Hope and Change'
-------------------------------------------------
(2008-04-17) — The chief political adviser to the Prime Minister of Hamas on Sunday said the terror group would like to see Sen. Barack Obama become the next U.S. president because “he has a vision to change America.”
-------------------------------------------------

Hamas thinks Obama can change America.

Obama on 'some democrats'
“Sen. Obama realizes he can’t be all things to all people,” according to a news release from the campaign, “For example, some Democrats might be reluctant to support an inspiring, intelligent, honest and attractive candidate with powerful speaking ability. For those voters, Hillary Clinton will bring balance to the ticket.”

Obama will make us Perfect.
I'm sort of a history buff, and I remember quite a few politicians who claimed they could make mankind more "Perfect".

Lenin
Stalin
Mao
Mussolini
Pol-Pot
Hitler
Chavez
Castro

to name a few.

I know that none of that will have any effect on the Obama-bots because all they see are the future 'goodies' that obama promises them.

Hopefully, in the general election, there will be enough people in this country who can tell the difference between "Change" and Communism.

Obama is a dedicated socialist/marxist, to know this you just need to Really listen to him, not just his buzzwords.

All the other stuff, wright, ayers, "bittergate", is just icing on the elitist marxist cake that the empty suit from chicago is peddling.

How pathetic do you have to be to actually Believe this guy?

Hillary on Obama and 'Some Democrats'
"The ‘Clinton for President’ campaign released the following statement: “Sen. Clinton would certainly have to give serious consideration to choosing an elitist, anti-God, anti-gun vice president with virtually no experience and a demonstrated propensity for attracting people who hate America, like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Weather Underground member William Ayers and, of course, Michelle Obama. After all, he represents a significant constituency within the Democrat party.”

I am sans pareil
on another thread the other day you responded to virruhdimwit. She is without doubt one of the leading elitist morons to visit these threads. She is so convinced of her natural superiority due to her vacationing in france, her love of good literature and theater as well as her knowledge of wine and cheeses.

Her preference for illegals rather than continued invasions of rednecks into her smalltown shows her disconnect with reality.

Previously she was ardent in her love and admiration for the missus clinton, claiming the missus clinton was her hero. But noiw she seems to be caught up in the oblahma mania.

America's standing in the world....
Does this mean that the world no longer looks to American government and American citizens to come to their aid whenever disaster strikes?

Are Americans no longer the biggest contributors to humanitarian causes all over the world?

Are Americans traveling abroad no longer sought after by merchants selling their wares?

Are foreign workers not glad that our government has over regulated and over taxed American businesses which has resulted in them having jobs that once did not exist?

Is America not the #1 destination of choice of people escaping tyranny and poverty?

Have Americans lost sight of the "I think I can" attitudes we once possessed to the "I know I can't" attitudes that make BHO's message so palatable to so many.

Utopia needs a warning label
At least we have been warned there will be sacrifice in achieving Obama's fantasy world. Mrs. Obama has expressed this more honestly than her more nuanced husband:

"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed."

Got that? Obama will "demand" this and "will never allow" that, because creating the progressive Promised Land will become the state's new imperative. In Obama's brave new world, there is no place for the quaint idea that government's purpose is to protect the inalienable rights bestowed by our Creator. (This is the candidate who claims to teach Constitutional law!)

And you resisters who try to sabotage Obama's collectivist Eden by staying "in your comfort zone" better watch out. Don't even think about going "back to your lives as usual." You have been warned.

Should we recommend her to the Laird of Scranton Manor? She appears to have the same qualities as Sunshine to be one of Sir Halbert's Ladies-in-waiting.

WW! What do you think?

Why don't these sitting senators
introduce some immediate cost cutting to reduce gas taxes and ethanol subsidies? If they have such great ideas what better forum do they need? We know the answer. So far only McCain is pushing for changes and the dims, as usual, are far behind with the fingers to the wind waiting for direction from the lefty loonies.

you write:
"The price of oil will only increase and we need to work toward developing other sources of energy."

I agree BUT that is not going to happen overnight and in the interim we need to reduce our reliance on the world market for oil and develope (DRILL) some of our own.

Just to name a few...Mexico, China, Venezuela & Cuba as partners, and others are drilling in the Gulf Of Mexico...
Yet we are not! The biggest reason we aren't are the Enviro-Nazis who claim an oil spill in the Gulf would be an 'environmental disaster'.
On the last part I agree, it would be!! But if any of the countries presently drilling creates that disaster and a 400 mile oil slick hits OUR shores who will clean it up? Mr & Mrs Taxpayer is who and, all without the benefit of getting any money out of the drilling in the 1st place, without the benefit of LOWER GAS PRICES at the pump in the meantime either!

It would make more sense to exploit our own resourses like ANWR, which according to the Enviro-Freaks contains "ONLY" 50 years worth of oil and buy ourselves 50 years to develope the alternative energy sources we all know we need.

Mybe build an oil refinery or two so we don't have to pay for that step in the proces either...and how about a Nuclear Power Plant while we're at it.
The Left seems to love France quite a bit (see the post by the "Forever Dimness of Sophie" above for proof) yet France is powered by Nuclear Reactors.

Then the Lefties wonder why conservatives consider the majority of the members of the Lib-Left Anti-American. Go Figure!

While I share your obsession with grammar, I think that it is important to remember Churchill's words: “This is the sort of English up with which I will not put.”

Your corrections are grammatically better (better grammatically?), but harder for the reader to take in (oops, dangling preposition, call the police).

Sweden does not have a 90% tax rate.
