Obama's Projections of Bitterness

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

One of the silver linings of the mostly dismal presidential campaign has been that Democrats have finally come to see -- perhaps admit is a better word -- that the Clintons are pathological and ruthless power addicts. But that late-coming epiphany looks increasingly irrelevant, as the ascendancy of Barack Obama delivers a whole new set of deeply troubling concerns.

Democrats -- all but committed to this fresh, charismatic figure -- are forced to deny or downplay the almost daily revelations about Obama that would have derailed less promising candidates already. But they have to be concerned.

Given Obama's uncompromising liberalism, it was only a matter of time before his pretense toward unity and bipartisanship would be exposed for the mirage that it is. The contentiousness of the Democratic contest has just accelerated the process.

As these damaging items slowly dripped out about Obama, he was able to brush them aside dismissively. You'll recall his refusal to wear a flag pin, his categorical statement that "it would be a profound mistake for us to use nuclear weapons under any circumstances," his assessment that the lives of our fallen soldiers in Iraq have been "wasted," his mindless promise to withdraw troops from Iraq according to an irresponsibly arbitrary timetable, and his naive remark that he would attach no preconditions to negotiating with the tyrants of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea.

The cumulative force of Obama's common-themed actions and statements would have compelled even a statistician to doubt they could be attributed to coincidence. Wasn't an objective pattern emerging to suggest that Obama would hardly be the fiercest guardian of America's national security interests?

Nor have reports of his voluntary alliances and allegiances done anything to remove those doubts. Everyone paying attention knows by now that a number of people intimately associated with Obama have made derogatory statements about this nation he seeks to lead.

His wife, Michelle, stunned people with her admission that Barack's rise to power and the people's hunger for change made her "really proud" of her country "for the first time in (her) adult lifetime." This was his soul mate speaking.

Even more people are aware of the incendiary, vulgar, anti-American and racist tirades of Obama's longtime pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Obama's lip-service condemnation of Wright's statements, which Obama unconvincingly pretended not to have heard, still might have defied all natural laws of credulity and fooled the majority of the people were it not for further shoes that were destined to drop.

Then there's Obama's mysterious association with former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers -- whose group bombed the Capitol, the Pentagon and the State Department in the 1970s -- which would have been enough to end any other presidential candidacy. So far, the mainstream media have shown no curiosity about the nature and extent of Obama's relationship with Ayers, despite Ayers' lack of repentance and defiant statements, "I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough."

If all this weren't enough to make us wonder whether Obama has issues with America, he made sure we know when telling us that small-town Americans, because of their bitterness about economic hardship, cling to religion, guns and hostility toward immigrants.

With such distorted perceptions about his fellow citizens, it's no wonder Obama appears bitter and angry at this nation. Given his experience with hostility emanating from his own pastor's pulpit, it's not surprising that he sees Middle America through that jaundiced prism and jumps to the perverse conclusion that small-town Americans turn to God out of bitterness. Obama has some nerve presuming to lecture the rest of us about prejudice and being out of touch with what people think.

Obama couldn't be more wrong about what motivates people to seek a relationship with God. Though this may not compute for the liberation-theology mindset, it seems to me people turn to God in humble repentance, seeking forgiveness for their own sins and shortcomings rather than validation for their bitterness and permission to continue sinning. They go in pursuit of that "hope" Obama waxes so eloquently about, but they tend to place their reliance on God rather than government as the source of their hope.

More and more, when Obama talks about the alleged "antipathy" people have toward "people who aren't like them," one can't help but speculate whether he's projecting his own feelings of antipathy and bitterness toward others and the nation.

Even Obama's slick tongue will have difficulty deflecting the conclusion that his assessment of God-loving Americans as embittered, gun-toting nativists is of a piece with his wife's regrettable remarks and the disturbing fulminations of his beloved pastor.

If Obama wants to hold himself out as a tolerant, colorblind uniter, he should do a far better job of walking that walk.

No surprise there Lumberjack,
Chuckles the clown strives hard in all ways possible to make sure that no one on Townhall with an ounce of brains will ever take him seriously.
And he succeeds gloriously at that, and only that.

Then he acts confused as to why people laugh AT him. He's not confused at all. Act like a classless buffoon, and that's how you'll be regarded.

David, EXCELLENT ARTICLE as usual
Obama is just another typical racist, leftist America hater who thinks that us unedjacted heyseed hicks will never figure out what he's really all about as we drive to church every Sunday in our old pickup trucks with the shotgun racks and Confederate flags, to meet other typical white folks and talk about how we hate everyone who isn't like us.

The sad thing is that the MSM will continue to cover for him and ignore his blatant shortcomings that make him totally unqualified to be in the Oval Office as a janitor, much less as the most powerful man in the world.

Hopefully the word will get out far and wide enough that the willfully blind will open their eyes in time to prevent him from even getting his parties nomination.

Try reading the new book out on Lincoln. It seems that while he was trampling State's rights and banishing habeus corpus, he worked overtime to provoke the South into a war. But then again, your hero FDR did the same. Another is: Unmasked.

One thing is for certain, you're definately super-glued and safety-wired on STUPID!

"how is Rushbo handling the thought of a McCain Presidency?"

How are you handling the fact that BUSH endorsed your master McShamnesty!?

Did your BDS explode and your panties get in a bunch?

Chuckles the Clown?
What an interesting new name for Wobbie, but if sure does fit. He's a JOKE!!

It sure must be nice to be the bravest man in the world who would rush headlong into a situation where your life could be in grave danger, as "Chuckles" implies he certainly would have done had he been President on 9-11.

Hey Chuckles, how many times does it have to be proven to you that Bush never said Iraq was an imminent threat before it sinks into that empty skull of yours? Try actually reading his 2003 State of The Union Speech for a change.

YOU MIGHT, I doubt it but miracles do happen, actually see for yourself that what he said is "We can't afford to wait until the threat is imminent."

Last point. It's DHUE, not Duhe, you freaking idiot. I know, that's one of the "nits" you deliberately "throw out for the mice," right?
WRONG, you're just a freaking illiterate moron as Gunny said.
Forget about Laurie Dhue dipwad. SHE has more class in the tip of a fingernail than YOU'LL EVER HAVE in your entire body.

Do you subscribe to M. Obama's "America is downright mean" or are you a little more optimistic?

Me, without my Ivy League education or hiring preferences base on race or sex (I am a vet so I guess I get one) think that the U.S. of A is a pretty damn good place to live. I've lived in a few different countries, and while some had their pluses, none of them stacked up to America...even the ones with "free" healthcare.

America...love it or leave it.

Why do you respond to Robert's posts? I am sure if he was ignored he would go away.

Obama would go away too but the MSnM has payed too much attention to him now.

The bitterness that is so apparent now has been there for all to see from the begining of his presidential asperations.

The MSnM has chosen not to publish the inteligence that continues to be gathered concerning BHO. If it (the intel) were to be consolidated and published now the credibility of the Main-Streem-news-Media would be severely damaged. What the MSnM so far has failed to report on has been made public via the supermarket tabloids and gosip avalible via the Internet. The failure of the MSnM to examine and report on these stories beyond the offical Obama campain denials shows the bias that is inherrant in the popular press.

The bias is not so much to the left as it is toward the underdog. Obama was given a pass because he was not expected to even give Hillary a run for her money. What was known of his history was discounted because of several reasons:
1: Hillary was expected to run away with the nomnination process
2: His skin color is brown.
3: He is charismatic and does well on TV.
(not in any conscious order)

Now after this prolonged Democratic primary process B.Hussein Obama is beginning to show his true self to the people. I hope that it is not too little too late. His stated policies and intentions are enough to frighten most conservatives but when you add in his history and his words about how he thinks about small town rural America every thinking voter should avoid filling in the blank for Obama.

The MSnM May never admit their mistake. They cannot now examine Obama's past without admitting that they chose to ignore it earlier. I hope they don't take us all into the abyss.

LMAO
The Limbawls continue slinking toward supporting McSame - I love watching this train wreak

While the ostriches
Like Hal and Wobbie keep putting their heads in the sand about Ovomit and Hitlary to submit to their BDS is no surprise there, hey folks?

I am God-loving, gun-toting and not bitter, surprise!
I suppose that makes me a Limbaugh liker, Beleaguered Bush supporter and war monger. Darn. I " feel" so horrible...NOT!!

Why
must there be so much antagonism towards each other?

A liberal is no more likely to be a "godless" communist than a conservative is to be a backwood, redneck fundamentalist.

We all have much to offer each other, and could learn from each other, but we will only accomplish this if we leave the name-calling and insults and antagonism behind.

What we need is open, honest, and non-antagonistic dialogue.

Can we try for this?

Hey, Jude

Sure, as long as you admit I'm right.

The dems have very little to offer except handouts and more programs, yet they want me to agree and call the "bi-partisanship" when all it is is submission to what they want.

No thanks.

Obama smart?
If Senator Obama is so smart, why does he insult people who he wants to vote for him?

Could it be that he knows that his liberal positions, if they are ever properly vetted in the MSM, will turn off these "rednecks" and they would never cast their vote for him?

Good point, and believe it or not I like having reasoned conversations with people, even those with whom I disagree.

But Hard Thought has called it--it seems like all the give-and-take flows from right to left. When have Kennedy or Kerry or Clinton or Obama ever reached across the aisle and embraced an issue near and dear to conservatives?

MNDuck
Yeah really, "you're all a bunch of gun-toting, Bible-thumping racists, but I want you to vote for me."

"I know you guys are not as smart as me. I know you are not as tolerant as I am. You are probably too dumb to know I insulted you. So PLEASE vote for me so I can unite the country."

Hard Thought and Bulldog
I understand your viewpoints.

However, and I should have made this more clear, I am not talking about politicians. I am talking about everyday people (nee, this will give you another song to use when making fun of me: everyday people by sly and the family stone) having open, non-antagonistic conversations with each other.

I would be the first to admit that politicians are too much into the party line, for the most part, to be of any real use in a dialogue.

However, we the people still hold the ultimate power, as we have the say over who gets into office or not. We need to get past the polarizing tendencies of politicians and come together (another song for you to use, nee) to work out what best for our nation.

Antagonizing and insulting each other (and I point my finger at both sides) is not the way to accomplish this.

Jude the Obscure
I think you have a valid point in trying to have a dialog without being antagonistic!

Obambi is a Racist!

What say you?

SSGT
I believe that the country will never be united in the sense that BHO talks about. There are too many issues that people feel passionately about, possibly have a vested interest in, that will make this impossible. We only have to look at two issues: abortion and the WOT.

What I would prefer to see is an uplifting of the dialog where disagreements are not handled in a disagreeable manner. It has been my experience that in far greater instances, the conservatives are willing to hear the other side out, and the people who call themselves liberal or progressive do not. I realize that this is not a hard and fast 100% true rule, just my experience.

I believe this stems from how each side views the motivation of the other. IMHO conservatives, most of the time, give the benefit of the doubt to liberals and their motivation. However, they conclude that they may be sincere, but they are sincerely wrong. I don't get the sense that conservatives are afforded the same consideration from the liberals. Our motivations are always questioned which leads to not needing to refute the argument if it is based (in your own mind) that the premise and motivation are fundamentally flawed.

I see far less candor and good will coming from the left in the arena of ideas and discussions.

Good morning!

Did my eyes deceive me, or did Hal post a little drive-by? What was THAT about??

Just to re-iterate, I cling to my religion because I believe in God, and Jesus as my personal savior, and I cling to my gun because liberals like Obama wish to take away my right as afforded by the Constitution.

What part does Obama NOT understand?? Fear is not a factor in my decision!!

What say you?"

Well, I don't support Obama, but is he a racist?

Hard to say. He is first and foremost a politician, and they are adept at saying what they think the people want to hear. Is he a racist, or is he simply spouting off what he thinks other want to hear?

He has definitely made some statments and associated with people that could cast him in a racist light, but as I've said, with politicians, it's hard to know what they're really about.

"My only question regarding Hillary's lies is: was it GWB's or Reagan's fault?"

Good point!

All us good liberals already know that the Bush Rove team was already up and going when she was in the White House. They were tricking Hillery into these obvious misstatements. Either that or Bush Rove had the mind control beam going and Hillery forgot to put on the foil.

Good Morning Miss Scarlett! I hope your day is going along fine! Its gonna be 55* and sunny today, here. I guess you folks down there ran out of snow and rain to send to us! haha

that was very nicely put! I tried yesterday to have a decent conversation with one of them. I got no reply from him when I clicked a link to dispute what he posted here! Thats why its so hard to try to engage them. I can admit when I'm wrong, why can't they?
Thats why we attack more now, then before, when we tried reason, but it did not work!

How could I have been so foolish as to forget Karl Rove, mastermind and architect? My sincerest apologies.

Other considerations, although minor in scale would be Fox News, Rush, Hannity, Pope John Paul 2, Margaret Thatcher, Coulter, Ingraham, Bennett and NPR (jk). Wow. The more I think about it, there IS a vast right wing conspiracy. RUN FOR THE HILLS!

Knight
I'd say that's a good start on the Hillary list of lies.

Speaking of Bush lies, I've always wondered how he was able to manipulate the Iraq situation and trick democrats into insisting for regime change-in 1998-when he was just the Governor of Texas.

SSGT
I must agree with your post to MNDuck.

There are several liberal-minded posters that come here for debate, like Taft, religiouslib, and Nellie. Sadly, there are far more that come here looking to pick a fight. Jesus did say "Turn the other cheek", but I seriously doubt he meant for us to get slapped on the other one!

MNDuck
There is a VRWC!!!!

And we have T-shirts to prove it!!!!!

Jackpine Savage has a link to his shirts at his blog.

;-)

The truth
is that the only people who read this are libs looking for ammo to stay mad at the the right or real value endearing conservatives looking for more ammo to bury the left. Too bad the mid-Americans that were insulted and still support the cad are in the dark. Bill boards are read everyday on the way to work and the radio with their favorite music is blasted to drown out the traffic noise. Perhaps the way to reach mid-America is better sought through the most obvious and the tried and true methods. Still this is the age of technology and more and more of us have the web for our info if we choose to use it. Nothing says unity so much as to log in and read how someone elses opinion is slammed on and on for a dozen posts. I think Robert got his point accross and the attention he went for.
I'm not going to stay home in November I'm going to take a chance the the heart and soul of the Republican Party will vote and endure as we have through worse election cycles. Carter? Clinton?
And here's a thought how many mid-Americans have had the opportunity to actually read the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. That would be worth reading on one of these blogs....think?

MNDuck
Very well said. The other Limbaugh has addressed this, and I think he is fairly accurate. Liberals don't just think we are wrong, they think we are evil. Thus, evil need not be argued with nor argued with logically, it simmply needs to be defeated. I can validate that view because like many of us, I was very liberal growing up-I attribute this to schools and the media since my dad was very conservative yet the nicest guy in the world. I too thought conservatives were evil, terrible people. Then I finally started to think for myself, because I found myself agreeing with many conservative issues. How could this be? I had been very well trained to have a visceral reaction to the thought of being a conservative.

The evidence is everywhere that in general, liberals put their hands over their ears and refuse to have a reasoned debate. Obama won't go on Fox. The democrats would not debate on Fox-afraid all questions wouldn't be softballs? Try going on the Huffington Post and see how long it takes to get banned. In personal conversations, if you bring out facts, it's not long until the liberal pulls out the "Bush is stupid" card. Of course, their heads nearly explode when I point out that Bush had a higher GPA than his past 2 liberal opponents-all at similar schools. Of course, if you speak slowly with an eastern accent, you must be a genius, right? right?

YLG

"Speaking of Bush lies, I've always wondered how he was able to manipulate the Iraq situation and trick democrats into insisting for regime change-in 1998-when he was just the Governor of Texas."

You know that Bush and Rove have ties through SKULL and BONES, who have connections with the BUILABERGERS, who know someone in the FREEMASONS, who convinced the ILLUMINATTI, who controls the media, to put subliminal messages into FOX NEWS broadcasts to control the Clinton administration, who secretly loved watching FOX news at the time.

Whew

It is a shame that Obama...
because of his newly found fame, will never have the opportunity to observe people in a small town as just another human being.

If you travel US Hwy 287 from the tip of Texas to North Dakota, you will go through a small town about every 30 or so miles, except where the highway has been routed around to miss the one or maybe two red lights downtown.

Missing the red lights mean you would also miss seeing and perhaps meeting some folks that smile and wave at you, just for driving down the street. Go into a local store or cafe, perhaps the Dairy Queen and they will pass the time of day with you.

At least a couple of times a year there is a letter to the editor of our local newspaper from folks who have traveled through, thanking the townspeople who were helpful and generous during a time of crisis for the traveler. One lady had left her purse in a local cafe. A customer found it and sent it to her with everything inside still intact, including a large sum of cash.

None of these folks will ever ask you if you are a Republican or Democrat. You won't be judged by any standard other than the standard of common decency.

Truth is, utopias don't exist anywhere. However, I have lived in large urban settings and chose to come back to the small town I was born and raised in. What it lacks in bright lights and sophistication it makes up for in a sense of community and a standard of common decency that I did not find in the big city.

Happiness and bitterness are both states of mind. People can choose to be either. When individuals have the freedom to control their own destinies and respect those same rights for their neighbors, both willing to take responsibility for their own actions, happiness will be the dominate state of mind.

I appreciate your sentiments, I really do. Read my response to MNDuck as a partial answer to your inquiry.

You do see a lot of vitriol here, though it is tame compared to HuffPO. The vitriol stems from the fact that very few liberals that visit here want a real debate. Most come here to stick a verbal thumb in the eyes of the regulars. Most of us choose to ignore them at this point. However, some feel the need to counter these types, often with the nastiness they have so often displayed. I for one feel free to take off the gloves when a liberal goes over the top responding to me.

With the exception of the usual asinine comment by Chuckles the Clown at the top of this thread - and a brief drive-by guano drop by Hal D, this thread has been void of disingenuous, off-topic leftist drivel.

Until you showed up...

Hmmm... seems to me David's brother overcame several firings, no college degree and a host of other obstacles to become the most successful radio broadcaster in history - to achieve his dream.

Is he perfect? No.

But he IS a shining example of what is possible in this great nation if you are willing to do the footwork and don't give up when practically everyone is telling you "it won't work".

What's the matter, Boy? Are you envious that you weren't born a member of the "Luck of the Sperm Club"?

Stop whining and putting others down because they have achieved something you have not.

Somebody might mistake you for a liberal.

A reply to Jude
With an aside to Beastie Bugger.
Looks like the conspiracy theories are out early.

Jude:

I don't mind dialogue, I do mind ideologues. Obama strikes me as an ideologue who is also trying to rally people with rhetoric and no substance.

That is a classic formula for tyranny.

We should debate the issues from both viewpoints and not just the party line.

One of the hardest things to teach anyone is HOW to think. Too often they are only taught WHAT to think.

Knight & MNDuck
I thought Limbaugh was off when I read the headline to the article. We all know that lierals have not "come to see" that the Clintons are pathological liars and ruthless power addicts. However, in the first sentence, he redeemed himself. Most liberals are simply "admitting" what despicable people the Clintons are now that they have some other person to latch onto-Obama. It is fun to watch the liberals validate everything we've known and said about the Clintons, though they would never admit we were right all along.

Liberals claim to be the smartest people in the room but have been willing to have their intelligence insulted continuously by the Clintons. Having to swallow that the Clintons have a real marriage. Having to swallow that it was simply a VRWC bringing up false stories like Monica-swallow pun unintended! Having to swallow that Monica was a one time transgression in the White House and that there were no other victims. And liberals poke fun at the blind faith displayed by the religious-WOW!

Voters...Seek Wisdom When You Vote
Amen! This article by David Limbaugh is excellent. Very good discernment, Mr. Limbaugh. Obama, his wife, and their so-called pastor/minister are ALL bitter and angry individuals against this great nation called America and its white citizens. My church has a mixed congregation of Christians where we see and hear the Gospel preached and worship the Lord...not in hate-filled "sermons" such as we have seen in the news about Obama's so-called church/pastor. As for Hillary and Bill Clinton, they are greedy, power-hungry people who will do or say anything to be in control again. We have had them once in the White House and that was more than enough! It has been shown that no lie is beyond either of them. Obama's campaign is now trying to portray him as loving America despite his refusal to wear a flag pin OR salute the American Flag. Now, those who fell for the deception by Obama perhaps are beginning to see some of his true feelings and how truly dangerous he and his associates are to the Liberty of America. What has America come to when we have candidates for the highest office in the land(President)like this? Shame on us!

This election year is crucial to the rise or fall of America and should not be an election based on a "first black man for President" or a "first woman for President." We need another Statesman as leader of this great nation. America needs to get back to its roots, Christianity. We need to call on God and pray for our nation!

The Bible says:

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will HEAL THEIR LAND."

On the topic of beastie boy
Those of you who have made comments about beastie, I would say this:

He (and others like him) are almost enough to make me ashamed to call myself a liberal.

They exhibit exactly what I have posted about earlier, i.e., antagonism and insults without anything of constructive value to offer.

I don't think Beastie has any idea of what a true liberal really is. His posts are asinine and immature, and I do not accept them as being representative of liberals.

He does not speak for me, in any case.

Ah, Sweet Socialism
It has worked everywhere it's been tried, right BB? Why can't we just follow those shining examples of success.

Cookie
Even now, as the Clintons are being exposed by their once ALLIES they have many supporters, enough to keep her in the race.

A good example is Hal D he actively campaigns for Hillery even though she openly stated she would condone torture in certain situations. Which is something Hal D his vehemently against. Is he sacrificing his convections for Hillery? Or did he really ever have strong convictions against torture? Either way he has to compromise himself to support her. It is however something he and too many others are willing to do.

I honestly wish we would get more reasonable libs such as yourself over here on TH.

Thank you for your 10:42 AM comments.

You'll do well here at Townhall - many conservatives want nothing more than a fun debate in the arena of ideas.

Unfortunately, there are a few like the "Boy" (good description of his mental "maturity", BTW), who are NOT remotely "liberal" in the classic sense, they are "leftist" extremists, and only come here to disrupt and take a "hate" dump.

Oh - and don't be discouraged if a few conservatives are quick to judge and dismiss you - it has become a bit of a reflex because of some of these trolls.

Welcome.

On Obama (and the election this fall)
What I would like to see is for one of the independents or some other third party candidate get enough support and votes to be able to get on the general ballot and be able to take part in the debates.

I think it would be just what Washington needs is for a slew of independents to take seats in Congress.

The Democrats and the Republicans are far too jaded and corrupt to truly serve the people. We need fresh blood in the system.

Jude the Obscure
"I think it would be just what Washington needs is for a slew of independents to take seats in Congress."

The problem is there just isn't enough independents. Even after the dems elected elected some quasi conservatives in 2006 to help take the house. They are beholden and controlled by a very liberal Dem leadership. Making it difficult to even take moderate positions.

The "Boy" opines:
"And he should have spent five years in prison for his crimes. But then again, the rule of law has always been for someone else, right?"

Last time I checked, old "Boy", the person responsible for prosecuting Rush Limbaugh was a liberal - and he decided it was in the public interest to settle the case without trial.

Those kinds of things happen all the time - think "Bill Clinton" and "perjury".

And I already said the man wasn't perfect.

Is that the best you've got, "Boy"?

Ahhh... never mind. I'm bored with you now.

In reference to your post to me,

You are correct about the state of affairs in Congress. However, it is still the choice of the people as to the makeup and nature of Congress.

We could, across the board, nation-wide, throw out the entrenched politicians and put independents in their place. We would get rid of the "old guard", wipe out a lot of pork barrel spending, break some of the hold that the various special interest groups have on Congress, and inject some much needed fresh blood into the political process.

The independents would probably be more responsive to and more representative of the people.

Knight
Oh - I wouldn't blame it on Townhall. I kept getting an error message when I was refreshing, so I kept hitting "refresh" until the page reconnected.

So I probably did it myself.

Much as I'd like to blame it on someone else - I don't want to sound like a leftist troll.

Jude:Problem is, beastie is just typical

of the libs we get here. Post are pretty much all the same, just the names changes.

And then we get some who claim to be "moderates" and before too long, the sheep's clothing comes off and there we have yet another raging liberal.

And, having been a regular TH poster for well over a year now, I would venture to say that while "we" regular TH Conservative posters might "hit back" it's only after the libs have been continually vile, loathsome, and as beastie has demonstrated above, foul and vulgar.

David Limbaugh's brother
through "operation chaos" has enabled us to really know Obama better by extending the time of the competition between Obama and Clinton. All that is coming out would not have been revealed by McCain's "respectful campaign.

It is understandable the public is really tired of the namecalling and conflict of Washington in response to Bush's presidency.

Obama seemed to be offering something different. "Seemed" is the key word as more about him is revealed. Once he has gotten beyond his golden tongued content empty speeches, we find he is not so golden tongued, not so capable of reaching across the aisle, not so open to all ideas and not so even tempered. We are learning about his liberal record, his attraction to radicals such as Bill Ayres, Rev. Wright with his sermons of hate and other people on the fringe of American thought. We are learning he respons to Clinton's attacks sometimes with ridicule and personality attack. We learned how he speaks when he thinks his speech isn't for public consumption.

We now know with time, we will be learning more about Obama on which to base our vote other than soaring rhetoric.

Beastie
A question for you, as you have written many posts:

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

You show up, antagonize others for their opinions and beliefs, toss out insults at some of them, and you seem to take delight in those actions.

What is your purpose? Do you have a valid reason for your vitriol?

Or is it that, sadly like so many youth today, you crave attention and only know how to seek it through negative means?

It could be that you have valid points to make, but posting to people in the manner you do puts people on the defensive, and they generally won't be willing to consider your ideas. Rather, they will then go on the offensive against you.

Nothing positive or constructive can come out of such a situation. I exhort you to try using more civility and reason in your posts, rather than relying on emotional outbursts and logical fallacies.

GEN
You make an excellent point about both Dem candidates.

Unless Hillary calls it a day before the convention, I could see a "draft Al Gore" groundswell taking place.

Of course, he's become so associated with the fraud of AGW, I no longer think HE'S electable anymore, either.

Who does that leave them with? Kucinich?

Ha, ha, ha...

before and I'll say it again....the one good thing about this long campaign season is that we really get to see what the candidates are all about. Bamma and the Mrs are really showing us their stuff. We already knew about Billarys' stuff it's just getting more obvious.

Jude, I agree with your post of 10:59 a.m. A clean slate in congress is needed. There are very few reps or senators that are worth the money we have to fork out to pay them. Level headed people like you are always welcome to voice their opinions here. Unfortunatly, scuzes like BB, Wobbie, Soppie, et. al. have caused some knee jerk reactions. The few of them have made it uncomfortable for those who really want a debate on the issues.

SSGT
I am a true liberal in the sense that I look at the way things are and want to change what needs to be changed, so that things may improve. There is a great deal that needs to be changed in our country and our government.

I am a progressive who wants to fix things and move forward.

In my opinion, the Democrat party is not really liberal. They use liberal concerns in their speeches in order to win votes, but true liberals who vote democratic are often betrayed.

In that respect, I suspect the Republican party is all too similar.
