Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Barack Obama is nothing if not smooth. He seamlessly turned a would-be apology over his pastor's racism into an indictment against society's racism.

It wasn't, "Jeremiah Wright was wrong, and I was wrong for going to his church for 20 years despite his apparently unforgiving spirit, his racist and anti-American utterances, and his vulgarity, including taking the Lord's name in vain from his very pulpit -- the one venue above all on God's sacred planet that such irreverence is inalterably forbidden. No matter what racial injustices have been perpetrated over the years by mankind toward mankind, they are never an excuse for disrespecting God, and especially in His house."

Instead, Obama said, essentially, "I reject many of Rev. Wright's remarks as divisive and perhaps even unfairly critical of America, but you have to admit, he has a point."

You can talk all you want to about Obama's "audacity of hope" theme, but the only audacity I heard in his speech was his lecturing Americans on their racism instead of explaining his longtime intimate relationship with Wright.

Obama's forte is not, as many have suggested, waxing eloquent while saying nothing. His real gift is saying one thing while appearing to say the opposite, so mellifluously and disarmingly that audiences shake their heads in affirmation of the very proposition they oppose. Without changing their minds, they believe they have agreed with him. Amazing -- and scary.

In his speech, he needed to condemn and distance himself from his pastor. And he did -- sort of. But before he was finished, he had virtually excused his pastor's statements and given us a history lesson in precisely why resentments giving rise to such statements came about -- and were justified. In other words, "Sure, Pastor Wright sometimes crossed the line, but don't let his tone obscure the underlying message: Racism is still pervasive in this country, which hasn't come close to making amends for its shameful past."

Reasonable people can debate the extent of the continued existence and effects of racism in both directions today, but in the meantime, we should recognize that Obama ducked the questions his speech was purportedly crafted to answer.

Assuming that not everyone listening to the speech was so mesmerized by Obama's intoxicating spell of lofty rhetoric that they forgot its purpose, Obama is not yet out of the woods on this issue. And that's his own fault.

He needed to speak directly, but he obfuscated with cleverly concealed contradictions and evasions. He said his campaign presents a powerful message of unity, but his words stoked racial unease and divisiveness. While paying lip service to our national motto, "Out of Many, One," he couldn't quit talking about people in terms of their color and ethnicity.

He scolded us for our racism, but he

-- encouraged us to keep race-consciousness at the very forefront of our national psyche,

-- sloppily conflated Pastor Wright's manifest racism and anti-Americanism with his white grandmother's stereotypical remarks and Democrat Geraldine Ferraro's political observation about the effect of Obama's race on his electability, and

-- didn't point his accusing finger at the race-hustlers of our time, who fan the flames of racial resentment and hostility.

Rather, he fed into feelings of racial distrust by playing to his leftist base and wrongly castigating Reaganism and conservative commentators for their alleged racism. He legitimized the noxious notion that conservative opposition to welfare and affirmative action are born of racism by saying we must "realize that your dreams do not have to come at the expense of my dreams." He implied that conservative resistance to throwing endless money at public education is rooted in a "cynicism that tells us that these kids can't learn, that those kids who don't look like us are somebody else's problem." These are misguided and damaging words.

Conservatives promote school choice precisely because they want to deliver disadvantaged children from their confinement in inner-city schools. Conservative opposition to affirmative action and unbridled welfare is not based on greed, selfishness or racism but on a philosophical difference over how best to solve problems while preserving the dignity of all individual human beings.

It is certainly Obama's prerogative to make his campaign about race while saying it transcends it. It is his right to duck the question of his intimate connection to Wright, and he may take the offensive by deftly turning the charges of racism back on conservatives.

But it is up to the voters to evaluate his cultural analysis, his evasiveness and the wisdom of his proposed big-government solutions for our problems. I am unconvinced that his eloquence has successfully masked the deep problems that have begun to haunt his driving presidential ambitions.

Racism in politics
"Race politics explains Ronald Reagan beginning his 1980 campaign at the Neshoba County Fair in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the place where civil rights workers' Michael Schwerner, James Earl Chaney and Andrew Goodman were murdered. His declaration then, "I believe in states rights," sent the same message as George W. Bush's 2000 sojourn to the fundamentalist college Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. The school's founder has often been linked to the Klan and for years provided a Biblical sanction for racism. The school refused to admit blacks until 1971 and banned interracial dating until 2000."

Obama is not on the run
Obama, who has been tried and convicted because he didn't bow while apologizing for being a member of the Reverends church, in his speech still didn't bow or disown the Reverend. How many times does Obama have to reject what the Reverend said, and be accepted, whereas Hillary rejected the racist comments of Ferraro only once, and her rejection was not only accepted, but all is forgotten. Others have said, if only Obama had said he made a mistake things would go easy on Obama. Is it that important to make Obama crawl through the mud. You can tell a lot about a person in the speeches they make and in just the things they say. When and where does Obama speak on a 24/7 bases, like he has that much of a influence from Reverent Wright. Obama is not a racist, anti American, Manchurian candidate, closet Muslim, Marxist, sleeper, or 007. It's amazing how much the Reverends tapes exposed about Obama isn't it? Or how much has been made out of the Reverends tapes to destroy Obama.

NOT THIS TIME
This time we want to talk about the crumbling schools that are stealing the future of black children and white children and Asian children and Hispanic children and Native American children. This time we want to reject the cynicism that tells us that these kids can't learn; that those kids who don't look like us are somebody else's problem. The children of America are not those kids, they are our kids, and we will not let them fall behind in a 21st century economy. Not this time.

This time we want to talk about how the lines in the Emergency Room are filled with whites and blacks and Hispanics who do not have health care; who don't have the power on their own to overcome the special interests in Washington, but who can take them on if we do it together.

This time we want to talk about the shuttered mills that once provided a decent life for men and women of every race, and the homes for sale that once belonged to Americans from every religion, every region, every walk of life. This time we want to talk about the fact that the real problem is not that someone who doesn't look like you might take your job; it's that the corporation you work for will ship it overseas for nothing more than a profit.

This time we want to talk about the men and women of every color and creed who serve together, and fight together, and bleed together under the same proud flag. We want to talk about how to bring them home from a war that never should've been authorized and never should've been waged, and we want to talk about how we'll show our patriotism by caring for them, and their families, and giving them the benefits they have earned.

Taft
The issue is Obama. Whether or not Thurmond or Reagan were or were not racists has nothing to do with whether Obama is out of the woods yet. Is he a uniter, a candidate who if elected president, will represent all Americans to the best of his ability? Or is he some other type of candidate? Does he believe Aids was "invented" in America as a plot to injure blacks? What does he say? Can what he says be believed? Does the record and his actions support his words? What does Strom thurmond have to do with these questions, and the nomination of Barak Obama?

For past sins
So, how about the Civil War: is blood no payment?

What is a mightier gift the USA can give?

Is the Union not to be thanked? Is Abraham Lincoln not to be held in reverence? Are the Stars and Stripes to be unrecognized, not even upon certain candidate's lapels--no, but repudiated and cursed?

Go back to the South then and exact your price, for that is what you desire, isn't it, Mr. Wright et Obama.

Exactly
After listening to Obama's speech, the lingering feeling I had was that somehow this was all my fault due to some inherent racism in me. I am positive others felt the same thing.

For this reason Obama's poll numbers took a dive even though the major networks were ready to canonize the speech as if it were now scripture. Now that's something new, the media getting it wrong, again.

The Obamas lack good judgment

Four years ago Obama’s church, Trinity United Church of Christ, offered on its website at least a dozen videos of Rev. Wright preaching. Unfortunately for those who wanted to get a true picture of Rev. Wright’s beliefs, these videos were removed from the Church’s website due to media scrutiny...but they were removed before Rev. Wright retired last month.

Barck and Michelle Obama should have left Rev. Wright’s church. Let me illustrate: After attending the same church for 20 years, I decided to find a new church for several reasons. One of the churches I visited in my search was a church I had gone to several times before. That day several years ago the pastor bandied about the word ”nazi” in similar fashion to the talk shows and weekly news magazines then. Having personally been told Holocaust survivor stories, I realized I needed to leave. I got up a few moments later and walked out, easily noticeable. I walked out because I knew this pastor was not fit to lead me spiritually. Later I realized God was causing me to find another church where God’s Word is preached. The Holy Spirit speaks to each of us differently, based in accordance to God’s Word, to tell us when we must not compromise. A minister is not really just ”one of the family.” He’s a spiritual leader with authority.

Barack and Michelle Obama should have walked out during Rev. Wright’s vitriolic race-dividing sermons. They should have shepherded their family away from Rev. Wright’s church and found a smaller African-American Bible church where the pastor was in one accord with the Lord and better understood the awesome power of forgiveness in Christ which his ancestors showed, a force so powerful that many decades later still touches the human heart.

What are the black churches like? Part 1

What are the African-American churches like? Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s church is NOT typical of these churches. I’ve attended at least five African-American churches, as I recall, and they all showed the love of Christ, a strong love that drew this Caucasian in. I had been raised singing the old gospel songs and Negro spirituals that I often sang in their churches.

I joined one of the African-American churches after going there occasionally through the years. I had left my church of 20 years for several reasons and decided to seek membership at this well known black church. I really enjoyed both the older and the new pastors’ preaching, and then one month into my membership I couldn’t believe my ears as I heard the new younger pastor make a disparaging remark about Israel. I also heard him start preaching a social gospel with one sermon focusing on the Palestinians and poverty and defending the employment of former Surgeon General Jocelyn Elders. Fortunately, I had attended a smaller, less socially affluent African-American church a number of times and I recall the interim pastor there including in his sermon a delicate reference as to why a key member of government appointed by the president was rightly fired. He was referring to Jocelyn Elders as well. I decided to leave the more affluent church after there was pulpit approval of other actions as well that appeared to be violating God’s Word.

A year or two later, the members of that affluent African-American church ended up forcing the pastor to leave. But except for the one mocking sentence about Israel, even that pastor never came close to the vehement, vitriolic sermons and blasphemy rendered by Barack Obama’s pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The Bible says, ”Be not deceived. God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth, he shall reap.”

What are the black churches like? Part 2

One of the most moving services I’ve ever attended was in one of the oldest African-American churches in America located in Georgia. I called the church before traveling to that city to make sure I’d be there for a church service. I attended the weekly prayer meeting, the only white person among several dozen black people. A half dozen elders went to the front of the meeting room and sat in a semi-circle facing us. Some got on their knees to pray. I have never heard such an exhortation in prayer as I heard from one of the elders on his knees. When everyone looked up from prayer to hear testimonies, I sat there with my head bowed because tears were streaming down my face. I’m sure the folks there thought I must have been under the conviction of sin but I was already saved and living uprightly.

A young woman who was perhaps in her early 20’s stood up to give a praise. The woman had the humility of Christ as she talked of her struggles, and I continued to weep to experience the humility of such saints who were most likely the descendants of slaves in that city. I remember singing Jester Hairston’s song ”Amen” with them. I felt I was in heaven. Afterwards, one of the men asked me if I wanted to go on a tour of the church. I agreed. The sight I most clearly remember was the floor of the pulpit. The vibrantly varnished floor boards contained an occasional hole the size of a silver dollar. The gentleman explained they were breathing holes for runaway slaves laying down in the shallow crawl space under those floor boards as they began their route in the Underground Railroad.

The experience at that church was one of the high points of my life.

What are the black churches like? Part 3

When I was a child and for many years afterwards, whenever I saw a black person, I thought of Jesus because the word ”forgiveness” came immediately to mind. Then I worked with African-Americans in various jobs and saw them less iconically but still through a filter of godliness. With more life experience, I’ve learned to better discern values but it’s hard to let go of that filter.

What a profound tragedy that Rev. Jeremiah Wright has an advanced degree in Negro spirituals and another in religions focusing on Islam and then quotes the beautiful words of those old Gospel songs after spewing such race-dividing, terrorist-justifying, anger-inducing, hate-inciting verbiage in the privileged pulpit in the church of God. His video clips remind me of the hate-inciting verbiage of the Friday prayers of many imams, after which riots and bloodshed have occurred in various cities throughout the world.

Oops...sorry!
Oops...sorry, Mr. Limbaugh. Each time I commented, the page refreshed without my comment. When I tried again, sure enough, there were two of each comment.

Happy Easter!

Spiritual Advisor Kleagle Byrd.
Yes, Taft, but you have to remember that they are "Just Words." Isn't that what Flim-Flam Obama said.

You should go easy on old Strom. Democrat Senator and KKK Kleagle, Bobbie Byrd, was Strom's "Spiritual Adviser" and "Mentor."

You do remember Kleagle Byrd, do you not. It was you Dems. that put KKK Bryd in the Senate for something like 40 or 50 years.

Hey Taft
hows your buddy Sheets "KKK" Byrd doing today! Your a moron!

Hey maverick
what "SPECIFICLY" did your savior Obambi reject of the Revs comments. Be "SPECIFIC" now!!!

wtfyall
Your "NOT THIS TIME" was a wonderful rendition of the DBC talking points. Thanks for the reminder why I will not vote for either of the DIMS.

By the way, Obama said he was the only candidate who was against the war from the start. Well, Moonbats, explain this quote:

“There's not much of a difference between my position and George Bush's position at this stage.” [re: Iraq War, Chicago Tribune, 07/27/04]

Five stars, David
An excellent column. Mr. Limbaugh NAILED Obama -- he is a master of diverting attention from anything that might be an Obama flaw and redirecting it to -- oops, you guessed it, OUR racism. What a phony.

If Americans elect a president who sits for 20 years (using his outstanding judgment, of course) in a church where anti-American hatred is the norm, then Americans are stupid. And it's looking like they are. They are also gimme gimme gimme irresponsible babies who want someone else, especially government, to take care of them. That's what I see increasingly posting on TH, irresponsible babies wanting their nanny state. Obama is perfect for them.

Gaining Perspective
We need to pull back from attempting to look at this issue as a black/white issue and really come to understand Obama's perspective.

Truth is, Obama agrees with Wright, and has for years. But he realized it was not politically expedient to do so. Every one of Wright's comments are far left beliefs.

Whether it's aids, 9/11, wars, affirmative action, reparations or anti-American sentiments, the far left, Rev. Wright, and the super liberal Obama himself, believes these things.

So Obama was faced with denouncing Wright's comments, without being specific. But still representing Wright's views. He deftly did both without stepping on too many land minds. If there's one thing I came away with from Obama's speech it's this.

He does not want us to know the plans he has for America, nor is he interested in sharing his real views with the rest of us.

Arby
your making me hungry! Do you think there are govmint handouts for your fast food chain?

The best of Obama speech articles
I've read all of the Obama speech articles on Townhall and many elsewhere, and this one's the best because of a crucial observation not stated as clearly by other observers:

"His real gift is saying one thing while appearing to say the opposite, so mellifluously and disarmingly that audiences shake their heads in affirmation of the very proposition they oppose. Without changing their minds, they believe they have agreed with him. Amazing -- and scary."

As usual, Thomas Sowell also wrote a great article, particularly noting this passage: "Someone once said that a con man's job is not to convince skeptics but to enable people to continue to believe what they already want to believe."

Well done, Limbaugh and Sowell!

ABC News
I haven't seen any account of how ABC News came to break the mainsteam media's oath of silence on Obama's church affiliation. Sean Hannity began talking about this several months ago, joined by Larry Elder and others, but I never expected it to be exposed by a mainstream news outlet. Does anybody have any firm information about that? (Of course, it's easy to assert a Hillary conspiracy theory, etc.)

already, already
I agree, it is the most insightful of the articles.

Yet, I think that he meant to write "that audiences nod their heads in affirmation." If Mr. Limbaugh truly meant to use the word shake, the sentence is a bit confusing to me.

Does one not nod in agreement, or affirmation, and shake their head in disagreement? That's the way my dictionary reads.

In no way am I trying to be picky. I am just trying to make sure that I understood Mr. Limbaugh correctly.

Kepp your eye on the ball
maverick:
let's keep our eye on the ball, shall we? I think most Americans know that the issue isn't about racism of anti-Americanism (but that would be enough, wouldn't it?) but about complete lack of judgment and dierct contradiction of everything Obama's campaaign was wupposed to be about. I wouldn't display your outrageous gullability in a public forum, it makes you look foolish.

This is nuts...
Saying God d--- America is not taking the Lords name in vain. That is asking God to curse America. Admittedly, that's not a very smart thing to do, especially if you live in America. After all, I am certain, being damned by God would be a very unpleasant thing. However, taking His name in vain is, claiming to be a 'man' of God and acting like a 'man' of the world. You know, taking the name of God upon yourself in vanity. You know, kind of like the saying, "In God we trust." Meaning: "In government we trust." Or- In money we trust-In the UN we trust-or In anything but God we trust. You know-tax my rich neighbor we trust-instead of Love your neighbor as you love yourself. After all, we all want to be taxed more than everyone else. Right? You know, Do not covet anything that is your neighbors...Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
You know- Gimme, gimme, gimme! That's not fair! I want, I want, I want!
The bed is too short! The blanket is too long! Me, me, me! Mine, mine, mine! Vote for me! I'll steal it for you!
That kind of selfish vanity.

What exactly is a black church?

I wasn't aware of such a thing as a 'white' or a 'black' church except during the dark days of segregation. Am I to believe that there are still 'Blacks Only' churches today? Do they have signs on the door warning non-blacks to enter at your own risk? Do they have separate bathrooms inside? Blacks on one side, all you others on the other side? Blacks in front, others in back? Maybe the non-blacks stay outside and the service is broadcast over an outdoor speaker and a big projector screen?

Or are they simply talking about the exterior paint?
Good Grief!

A Symbol, Not a Leader
As a former journalist, it pains me to admit that the MSM have an agenda and it's helping Barack Obama become President Barack Obama. Thanks to talk radio and the Internet blogs for bringing out the glaring inconsistencies between Barack, the candidate, and Barack, the ambitious man whose speeches are cleverly designed to appeal to everyone but reveal nothing about his real intentions and principles.

Barack Obama, in fact, illustrates the great divide between liberalism and conservatism: symbolism over substance. Obama is a shining liberal symbol whose election will validate the liberals' convictions that they are the elite because they are non-prejudicial and nonjudgmental.

Of course, these "feelings" take no account or concern for the enactment of policies by an inexperienced president that could damage the U.S. economy and threaten its security in a dangerous world.

Obama's speech
He may not be out of the woods, but he's out of the closet. He is a race baiting liberal.

i just have to say it
G.D America = G.D Obama

Obama Cross
I believe what Obama is guilty of is being a WIMP. Look at his voting record. Wimped out. Look at his pastor. Wimped out.
The biggest of all.
Where is Michele Obama ?
I have come to the conclusion Obama is not a racist and he does not believe any of the racist crap that church spews.
On the other hand I believe Michele is the radical loony racist.
Obama joined that church for one reason. Politics. He needed a sponsor in the black community. All that crap about the reverend bringing him to Jesus is more politics.
Obama is nothing more than a wimp.
Michele I believe is running the show. She would have picked the church. I imagine he not only had to put up with all the radical hate America speeches in church. Michele seems like the type to carry that message home and indoctrinate her children with this hate. Barack wouldn't have the balls to question her choices in child rearing or black separatist philosophy.. I would think she could be very threatening if confronted.
Like I said Obama is nothing more than a wimp. This would definitely make him a terrible choice for president.
Hillary is right. She had to make that choice to go to war after 9-11. Obama made a speech. If he were in the U.S. Senate at the time his record shows he would not have shown up for the vote.
WHIMP,WHIMP,WHIMP.

David
Had Obama used your second paragraph he would have proved he was a uniter, but he chose to be a divider like jesse and al.

Obama
As someone asked on the radio - "If Obama is such a 'Uniter" and is going to "Unite" the country, unite races - why hasn't he had any effect on Rev.(taking that title in vain) Wright?
Evidently he must have agreed with Wright sitting in his church for twenty years and not getting Wright to change his hate filled sermons to messages of unity and love of the country that Wright has allowed him his hate filled free speech? Or just leaving the church? Instead he threw his grandmother and Geraldine Ferraro under the bus rather than Wright. Interesting. How was Obama going to actually change this country?

Wright says he owes his alligance to Africa. Perhaps he should go there.

Just another slick liberal Democrat
BHO deftly skirted the issue: his own weakness, his own failure to confront a hater. Why did he fail? It's either because he shared Wright's views or he didn't have the balls to stand up to Wright. Either way, Obama is neither fit to be president or fit to be a U.S. Senator.

BHO is just another slick liberal Democrat---a black version of Bill Clinton. His (their) philosophy---shared by Wright---is one that believes that Big Government can "fix" the problem. It's a way of thought that ignores the fact that about $7 TRILLION has been spent in this country since the "War on Poverty" began. That's $7 TRILLION in the transfer of wealth---but money will not cure the problem.

The problem is the politicians who rely on the creation of a voter plantation to remain in power. The problem is convincing people that they can not control their own destiny. The problem is liberalism.

I refuse to feel guilt
I will make a prediction. Obama will go down in flames if he makes it to the general election. The American people will not elect a race hustler. When he does not win, libs will just scream that it is total evidence that we are a racist nation because we did not elect the black candidate. They truly do not seem to understand that we reject the socialist ideas and the other glaring flaws of their candidate.

I would have no problem with a black candidate whose ideas and vision were more in line with my own, but Obama is not that candidate.

I am very tired of the attitude among some that I am supposed to wear sack cloth and ashes and strike my breast while chanting mea culpas just because I am white. I cannot nor will I pretend that I can atone for the misdeeds of others. Many of the problems faced by people of all races in this country result from a lack of personal responsibility. The fact that so many blacks are successful points to the fact that something other than racism holds back those who have not been successful.

If the libs would stop making excuses and start making demands on those who expect government to solve all of their problems, I would have more respect for them.

maggie
A very reasonable view and your honesty is heartening. A "wimp" would make a bad president, no doubt, but..you read to much into Michelle Obama, and come to some weak conclusions. All most of us know about her was her speech,
"What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud."

Taft and Maverick
Apparently, your Mama never told you that excusing someone's bad behavior by pointing out someone else's bad behavior is a no-go. So, the fact that Obama is a secret racist is not excused by your accusation that Reagan was a racist. Reagan is dead, and as another Democratic organization would say, it's time to "move on". Try explaining away Obama picking this man as his mentor and then lying about it in his big speech by trying to pull a bait and switch. You both must think Americans are really stupid. We're not. We get Obama now. And he's going down.

Obama Is Toast
Oh, the Democrats have too much invested into sucking up to the black racist community to diss their messiah. But America has seen first hand the lies and slander that these mau mau's have used for 50 years to intimidate whites into discriminating against whites.

No more. The Democrats are the racists and everyone knows it. The task now is to publically refute these lies and shame those who make it their business to spread them.

Pickets should be set up in front of these churches and public schools who preach this kind of hate.

Boycotts of the media sponsors who promote anti-white racist propaganda.

Finally, punch a racist talking head if you get the chance.

This is a call to arms. Enough is too much.

AynRandLives
"Try explaining away Obama picking this man as his mentor and then lying about it in his big speech by trying to pull a bait and switch."

Would you give me more details, so I can look into what you're talking about exactly. Also, the msm is making this Mentor thing a bit more than reality is. His biggest mentor was his mom. Reagan is dead, and truth be told I think he was a good guy, but, I don't see why close associates of big name Republicans with low lives isn't pertinent. Racism as an issue has been raised and an individuals person record means nothing. If you have an acquaintance who is unsavory, then your just as guilty now. I don't make up the rules, they suck.

Maverik writes:
..."How many times does Obama have to reject what the Reverend said, and be accepted"...

How about I accept his rejections when he reaches 1 less time than a Republican or Conservative would have to to be forgiven by libs and looneys (oops, sorry - same thing).
Afterall, by letting him off easier, it would help to combat the "inbred" racism that he grand mother and I share as "typical white people".

STROM
Name one time that Thurmond said the N word on tv as KKK Byrd did.Taft before you say someone elses house is dirty CLEAN up your own.

Obama is a con man
His speech just made it perfectly clear. What it broke down to was he loved his preacher, he loved the black community, and they had a right to be angry, and he was going to tell white folk how to get along, and make nice nice with black people. Give us more money, give us what we want, then we might consider not being mad at white folk any more.
And after seeing his preacher, and hearing other black preachers saying that was normal, I can certainly understand his Grandmother being afraid of black men on the streets.
By the was, Jesse Jackson said that when he was walking and heard footsteps behind him, and thought of robbery, and turned and saw white people behind him, he felt relief.

Kick Byrd out too
More on Reagan's buddy, wow!

"Thurmond's initiation in the "customs and traditions" of segregation, sex and white supremacy began with his political mentor Benjamin Ryan Tillman. "Pitchfork" Ben Tillman, a virulent white supremacist, also from Edgefield, Thurmond's home county, constitutionally (and otherwise) reinstituted white rule after Reconstruction. Pitchfork" Ben was proud to have driven blacks demanding rights out of the state at gunpoint. He and his Sweetwater Sabre Club members wore white shirts stained in red to represent the blood of black men. When Tillman came to power as Governor in 1890, blacks were the majority in the state. Today, blacks represent a third of the population. The decrease is directly due to Tillman's political legacy. Tillman's assault on black rights was immediate. He quickly revised the state constitution to ensure legal segregation of the races, stripping blacks of all political and economic power. As a U.S. Senator, Tillman declared, "We of the South have never recognized the right of the Negro to govern white men, and we never will."

Obama's A Weakling & A Hypocrit
Obama's cowardice in failing to accept responsibility, blaming others (conservatives) for legitimately questioning his veracity and complete lack of judgment, his illogical and offensive moral equivalence and ultimate justification of Black hate-speech shows he is a well-educated but nevertheless ignorant, cowardly charlaton selling the same snake-oil that Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton have been selling for decades -- the only difference is that Obama bottles the same pathetic poison in a more sophisticted looking bottle and charges 3 times as much.

Blacks will get no where with a "leader" who continues to bull sh*t them with this nonsense. Enough excuses. If one has been dealt a bad hand in life, deal with it as best you can. If you've fu*ked up on your own, make amends, apologize and try to do better next time. But for God's sake stop blaming others and stop making excuses like Barack Obama did this week. That was nothing but a well-worded pathetic example to set for the real change he professes to bring. Therein lies Obama;s hypicrisy.

Obama's well waxed ruse is up and we The People are wise to this nonsense just as we have been wise to Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's crap for decades now.

So thank you, Barack for bring the subject of race to the forefront and for demanding that race be open for honest discussion despite manifest dishionesty in serving up the first volley. Now we can talk about it honestly and out loud because we are addrssing race in "post-racial" America . . . and guess what? You are extremely and pathetically wrong and we who seek true equality (not the patently patronizing principles embodied by affirmative action which should offend any minority who believes s/he is truly equal) are correct. We win; you lose.

Show us your courage you cowardly weakling and face some tough questions from Brit Hume, Chris Wallace, Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly instead of the safe havens of CNN, MSNBC and CBS.

Obama’s BIG PROBLEMS…
Obama’s speeches remind me of others throughout history, with their ability to so quietly and enchantingly say one thing and mean another; and people will shake their heads in approval of the very things they oppose. What is amazing is they believe they have agreed with him. What is scary is that history has also proven time and again; that those willing to agree without question are the first to die by the millions.

Slavery and discrimination against one’s color, religion, ethnicity, age and sex are wrong. The slavery issue was settled more than a hundred and forty years ago. Why is it that after all this time we are still punishing ourselves for what our ancestors were responsible for? Slavery ended, but discrimination replaced slavery and is the most menacing disease of today.

The “Equal Rights” and “Affirmative Action” Laws only helped those that could take advantage of them. The laws themselves are discriminatory; due to the fact they discriminated by giving preferential treatment to specific categories and groups of people. Two wrongs…do not equal…right; they only facilitate more wrongs. I believe that most people have experienced some forms of discrimination during their life-time; I know I have. Some forms of discrimination are worse than others. But you adapt and move forward, not looking back and regretting what you have no control over.

I do not feel I own anyone anything more than what we all have; life, liberty, freedom and the choices and opportunities this great Nation provides. Get over it…stop these cycles of grudge and quilt.

Reason and logic dictates that until we are able to get above and beyond the “grudge and quilt”; no African-American will ever become POTUS.

Typical White Person
In an interview, yesterday, Obama said that his grandmother was a "typical white person."

Really? What is a "typical white person," B. Hussein.

If a white candidate said that any black person was just a "typical black person," that candidate would be finished.

This time he made an anti-white racist comment himself, and it is on tape.

Go ahead Libs, make excuses for your savior's comment.

Obama isn't just a racist, he is an idiot as well.

There is no such thing as a typical white person any more than there is such a thing as a typical black person.

Eagle
All the charges against Obama, those with credence anyway, he has apologized. The things he doesn't apologize for, are things he's have to lie about. He also, doesn't like excuses but has repeatedly said Black fathers need to take the responsibility for their kids.

FOX Lies!! Barack Obama Pastor Wright
Jeremiah A. Wright. FOX lied! Here's the whole context!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOdlnzkeoyQ&feature=related

Obama's A Weakling & A Hypocrit
Hey Taft:

Why then does he not aoplogize for drawing the moral equivalence of what Ferraro said to what the "Reverend" (and I use that term extremely loosely as he is no man of God in taking the Lord's name in vein from the pulpit) Wright said?

Why does Obama not apologize for stereotyping all "European Americans" as "typical white peopel"?

Why doe sObama not apologize for legitmizing and justifying hate speech from Blacks on whites but not vice versa?

Why does he duck tough interviews and only talk and appear in safe havens of ultra liberal media like CNN, MSNBC, CBS? Like Hillary refusal to release ALL ofher white house schedule, her tax returns and donor list to the Clinton Library, Obama is hiding his true colors (no pun intended, really). That is the sign of weakling and a coward and yes, a ultimately a liar.

Obama Not Yet Out of the Woods
I think Mr. Obama and every other blinded leftist miss this point. Slavery was not motivated by race but by the love of money. Alex Haley, a black man, wrote a book titled, "Roots." In it he informed us that Africans rounded up fellow Africans of lesser means and sold them for slaves.

Those people were brought to this nation by rich land owners that wanted cheep labor, nothing more, nothing less. It was upon this that the agricultural South was founded.

So, the evils or race we see today does not have it's roots in the color of a man's skin but the love of money. Such has no color, as it originates in the heart.

@Taft
Would you mind explaining to me how the fact that the Democratic mentor of Strom Thurmond being a racist impinges in any way on the Republican party? It appears to me that you're trying to make a logical leap between the Democratic platform and those who knew a Republican individual who formerly held to that platform, then attempting to tie a thread across the gap you've leaped. Given that I'm speaking out questioning your statement, would you mind explaining to me where you feel I'm going wrong in this?

Time to move on
Republican's would love to divert attention from the real issues in this campaign, but even John McCain has probably had his fill of the talk radio and media yammering over Rev. Wright. As one Pennsylvania voter noted:
“The average person on the street cares about the economy and the war and everyday life.”
Mr. Obama would very much like to address those same issues but was forced to talk about race in a frank and meaningful way. He did a superb job in talking honestly to the American people about a distasteful subject. But of course the Republican stalking horses aren't about to let us know get on with discussing the issues. They would like to ride this racial topic all the way to November, but that won't happen. Some American's are still racist but most are fair minded and will listen to Obama's message of hope for the future. We all need to put the hate fulled messages of Wright as well as Limabugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Dobson, Falwell, and Robertson behind us and move to a much more positive message which is really what America is all about.

Bobzmcishl is Full of Sh*t
Bobzmcishl:

Your and those of your ilk's phrase "time to move" on is code for nothing short of being wrong, knowing it (though too cowardly to admit it) and being utterly and totally embarrassed by it.

Would you and those of your intellectually dishonest, liberal, hypocritical mind set want to "move on" if George Bush referred to and stereotyped blacks as "your typical black person"? Liberals lambasted and to this day continue to lambaste George Bush for giving a speech at a University which has a policy discouraging inter racial dating. You did not want to "move on" then, but you do now. You and those of your idiotic ilk like a fixed game and the American People have known it some time now.

This is why your party and indeed liberalism in general is imploding. You are hypocrites, liars, marketers of subtle but real racism (which in essence makes you the worst of all racists - cunning and deceitful racists). You are no longer on a liberal fascist campus. This is the real world and our conservative ideas at the end of the day a simply superior to tried and failed liberal, Marxist crap.

In short, you are yesterday; conservatism and true equality is the future which is why heroes of yours like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Slick Willie Clinton will forever be engrained in the annals of History as charlatans and failures.

Irreverent Reverend
Let's see how long I last on a conservative forum.

I used to be a republican. Not anymore. I'm sick to death of the Desider n Cheef. what a maroon!

I gladly voted Nixon and Reagan - and thought Nixon got a bum rap considering the Clinton body count and the Bush crime family syndicate.

I'm voting Obama because he's a radical outsider. I'm voting Obama because the Jerusalem Post hates him.

I'm voting Obama because his pastor spoke more truth of American politics than I've ever heard from the parties.

I'm voting Obama because his radical buddies in the Black Panthers are a breath of fresh air.

NOTE - I"m a sixty year old white woman from the Midwest. And as the years go by - Jimmy Carter is starting to look pretty good.

Obama still not out of the woods
MrRoy...you wrote a very good piece, and so very true. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil and was the root for slavery being instigated in the beginning. I agree with you, it is what is in a person's heart that causes them to do what they do..and the root of all evil always leads back to greed along with the love of power.

Ho hum
Critical thinkers are in short supply today, well, everyday on TH.

Lame talking points from Rove wannabes does not substitute for critical thought.

A better skewering of Sen. Obama might be, "Just words, Senator?"

Or, how about, "A man is known by the company he keeps?" No, that slimes knuckle draggers as well.

The right has gone intellectually lame when the left has to argue for it. Show a direct relation between Sen. Obama's actions and the Rev. Wright's bitter racism. If you can't do that, find someone taught racism in that church who has done something wrong. Show how Obama has utilized black racism to exclude whites.

Name calling will not bring independents to your cause. You have burnt the fuel of name calling, swift boating, and out right lies. Critically deconstruct him or her.

I don't believe you for a minute
abaines, we regularly have those come on who claim to have been Republican but have changed for one reason or another. I don't know of anyone who has ever been a true Republican who would ever consider voting for someone like Obama. Spare us the dishonesty please.

BHL--of course it would seem that nobody is thinking critically. That is the whole problem with liberals, if you don't agree with libthink, well, you must just not be thinking.

I agree with the one who said that liberals want to move on and not talk about this because they know it is deadly for their candidate.

Now out of the woods indeed
Obama is a great tap-dancer but he's got a long way to go to get away from 20+ years of enthusiastic support for the racist cult he belonged to. I wouldn't be surprised if this scandal marks the end of the Obama race.

Fox Did Not Lie
Dixiecrat=Republican, I listened to the link. He brought up every action we have taken as a country from WWII to 9/11 and said we bombed innocent people over and over.

He indicates any action the USA has taken since WWII was aggression and simply killing innocent people.

He mentioned black peope jumping out of the towers, like that blacks were the only victims. He mentioned only black victims!!! Guess there was no need to mention the white, brown or yellow people? Only the blacks mattered to him!!!

He called 9/11 "Chickens coming home to roost" and he meant that we got what he feels we deserved.

Now, please explain the "God Damn America" sermon. I hope you do better than you did on the 9/11 sermon.

abaines
So Jimma Carter is looking good, eh? That's all we need to know about you.

Obama steps in it again
So yesterday in Philadelphia, on the radio, Obama talked about his grandmother as "a typical white person" when questioned about her use of racial slurs.

This empty suit has NO qualifications to be President.

It's no wonder that today the libs are desperately trying to spin this into a comparison of what Obama has said to what some Republicans have done. They obviously don't want to compare Obama's sterotyping of white people to what would happen to any Republican who said something like "typical black person" to excuse the conduct of a white racist.

Obama's Long Range plans
I believe Barack Hussein Obama has been groomed for years to be in the exact place he is now (sans Wright).I believe his Muslim friends saw something in him they could use to get a toe-hold ,so they could "get on the inside".

I think every move he has made has been planned. He joined one of the biggest predominately black churches in Illinois and worked in and out of it to endear himself to the "black community".

The "black community"have been waiting for their"messiah".In Obama, they have found him.It is sad he is such a flawed man. They, for the most part, cannot see his faults,or refuse to,but they are there.Wright is only a snag in their plans.

Obama seemed like the perfect candidate for the "guilt-ridden"whites.Handsome,well spoken and best of all liberal. They would even throw Hillary under the bus for their perfect black candidate.

Obama..a man for all seasons...the death
knell of liberty, justice and freedom for all.

best speech on race in this generation
if not ever.

nuff said.

"Typical" Racists!
The bad Rev. Write and his novice, Obama, are just "typical" racists.

Obama's "race-reeducation" Lecture...
He's good; I have to give him that. His slick, but phony & contradictory, speech surrounded by American flags was sure to disarm undiscerning Libs, plus another opportunity for the LSM Elites to swoon..another "thrill" up Chrissy Matthew's leg, no doubt.
Then again, notice that when Obama is in a one to one, without a telepromter, he seems very unsure of himself, and usually makes some lame comments...He's a fine actor, though..

At least now, more people will be scrutionizing Obama and his 23 yr racist education.. For instance, most church's don't print the Hamas Manifesto on the Pastor page of the monthly newsletter, as Wright did about six months ago.. I think there will be more for him to answer to..

Obama Not Yet Out of the Woods
Obama doesn't deserve to be a US president and this scandal has closed his career. No matter how much his liberal admirers love his apparent recovery via this speech, he's done for the 2008 presidential election - kaput, adios, no more. The issue was (IS and WILL STILL BE) very clear: how/why should this nation trust by
giving the position of presidency, (i.e. leader of this country, commander-in-chief of US army, executive of this county's foreign policies, and other major attributes of this office), to someone who sat, heared and had fun during Wright's calling for this very
country's be damned/destroyed - mister Obama, your answer? No honest answer for this clear question, just some recycling of liberal takes on racial issues.
OBFUSCATION: to make something obscure or unclear, especially by making it unnecessarily complicated (Dict.)
Now the clear answer for this question: no, mister Obama is not fit for the job of US president, and I am certain that the November vote will show this beyond doubt.

Ditto ditto dittoottid
sorry for my absence...but the needs of freedom ringing are pretty high right now....

What legitimate news source backs up the Hamas charge? I'd be very curious. There have been so many lies about Obama, especially in e-mails, I can't keep track of them all. I don't know how many times I've seen people say he won't put his hand on his heart during the pledge! Obama got some very determined and rather unscrupulous enemies. You gotta give the guy credit for sticking his neck out, he's no wimp. If Ronald Reagan can have friends like strom and sean Hannity can have mentors like Grant and not be racists, then why is Obama? Obama never went to speak at the Black Bob Jones U, the Black Panthers, like Bush? Jackie Robinson wanted to help Nixon get elected, until reality hit in the face. MLK was put in jail, for something like a speeding ticket, and Nixon didn't care. Reagan went to the deep south and told people he was for "states rights", or in other words against civil rights.

The chickens have come home to roost
for Obama and the Dem. Party.

He showed himself a liar and fraud when he could not admit his complicity with his pastor's ranting--when he said many people have disagreed with their ministers, he was accusing most reverends of racist and violent teachings, a sure misnomer.

Obama could have said he knew all Wright has said and even agreed with much of it but that he would put aside that kind of racial division to lead the US to unity and reconciliation.

Instead, he blamed Am. for Rev. Wright and then blamed Am. business, the envy of the world--people aren't coming here by the millions to experience hatred and horror; they are coming to make successes of themselves--and ended by calling everyone, including the grandmother who raised him a racist.

More racial guilt may appease leftist liberals but I always say I gave on the battlefield at the Civil War, and my family doesn't owe anything to the race hustlers.

The Dems. now have the wonderful dilemma of a conflict between competing special interests of the feminazis and race baiters that may be fought all the way till August. What wonderful theatre. It's too bad the fate of America is at stake.

Free to Beleive
Obama has chosen not just Wright but Black Liberation Theology as his way educating himself and his family for over 20 years.

This theology is based on David Cone's books where in he blends Christianity with Black Power & Marxism. For you Obamabots Marxism = Communism (or at least extreme socialism)

(Words Aside, both Obama's & Wrights, lets look at actions)

Are Obama's actions consistent with a black racist & socialist/ communist philosophy.

1) Claims that he and he alone can save this country from Racism. Caulk up 1 point to Egomaniac & Self Appointed Savior. His reasoning is he can be the race messiah because of his bi-racial background. By definition his "Race" is the only qualification to his claim of Messiah-ship, therefore he is a racist (small R)

2) His answers to all US problems are Destroy corporations & Tax "Rich Whites".... His Extreme liberal voting record supports this words on this .

So he believes his Race is a qualification for the Presidency and his solution for problems to destroy "Evil corporate Greed"

racist = Check
Marxist = Check

He is an effective practitioner as well as parishioner of Black Liberation Theology..

Uncle Jerry must be so proud of his star pupil!

renny
The horses are out of the barn, also. He kept the "barn door" closed tightly until this evil sneaked out.Wasn't suppose to happen, before he had things sewn up.

I think he will continue to sink. Many people who are ashamed of him now are also ashamed of themselves for having been "scammed".Pride keeps them from admitting it.

As I wrote in another post.I believe he has been groomed and trained for years by his Muslim friends. It is a chance for them to be on the "inside",if he is elected. He must be stopped.

Any Hollywood actor can memorize their lines and speak before a crowd and mesmerize them. They don't need to believe what they are saying, just so the audience does. This is Obama. His "Oscar" would be the keys to the White House. He must not be the winner.

renny
Show me proof that Obama is a racists.

Rowly
We agree.

Taft, go to Youtube and see the Rev. Wright's sermons.

Then read or listen to Obama's speech. Obama says he doesn't always agree with the former pastor but tries to explain away why Wright would speak and think as he does. The fault is white America and its businesses. If I said, the Nazis were really a little nuts about the Jews, but you have to understand they controlled all the money in Europe and helped bring about Germany's defeat in WW I, then I would be an anti-Semite.

The same applies to Obama as a racist.

'Racism is still pervasive...
...in this country.'

And the race hustlers are making sure it stays alive and well. As for proof, Tate, it lies in the fact that he sits in Wright's 'Church's' pew listening to this race demagogue, appointed Wright to his campaign, associates with the other race hustlers who are waiting in the wings to get in on the spoils of acquiring political power, is married to a wife who spouts the race hustle/hate America line and as the above indicates, feels that this country, despite the trillions poured into the the 'war on poverty', has yet to pay for the past. IOW, REPARATIONS!

This is one form of racism but it also lies with anyone who thinks race is a qualification, beyond any other consideration for anything, if, in fact, it should be a consideration at all AND feels assuaging the guilt trip, 'uplifting' or otherwise, for one's advancement due primarily to race.

As a matter of fact, the requirement for non-racism, is that one should feel disgusted if advancement is due to race to the exclusion of all other considerations and that more qualified persons are passed over because they don't possess the necessary race qualifications.

Does one need anymore proof that liberal dhimmicrats are the real racists in this country than the way they treated Thomas at his confirmation hearings, the way they treated Steele when he was running for US Senate in MD and the way they depict Rice in cartoons and print?

Just because race is viewed in a different manner in this country than the Nazis held their racism, and codified such views in law, doesn't make it any less racist in either case.

Nice try

Thank you. I'm glad someone said that not all black churches and congregants are teaching black liberation theology and it's hate creed.
My church is about the humblest in the city, not big in numbers by any means, but the love of Christ is there. We have a praying pastor like the one you described, except we are a white church and our yearly visitor from out of state
(comes here on vacation, visiting old friends she
knew when working here) is a wonderful 70 something black lady. We all love her dearly,
she's a CHRISTIAN first.

Churchill used soaring rhetoric, Obama uses cheesy platitudes and double talk.

Parker: Where did you get your information regarding the second commandment and who wrote the book?
2. Thou shal not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
Lutheran Catechism: We should fear and love God that we may not curse, swear, use witchcraft, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise and give thanks.
We surely didn't hear prayer, praise, or thanksgiving from the irreverent Wright from the pulpit of his church. Methinks he's got some 'splainin' to do in the future.
Wonder how many children are now G*** America
as they go about their days. Could be a time
for a millstone fitting also.

On Thursday
O'Blame-Ya once again afixed the tag 'racist' to his grandmother calling her a "typical white person" because she would sometimes feel threatened by black men she didn't know approaching her on the street.

A lot has been made of the "typical" (though I think he meant stereo-typical) comment but Barry didn't stop there and the remainder of his statement tells us more about the stereo-typical Democratic politician than he probably wished or even realized he revealed.

"That's been bred into OUR experience." he continued "That doesn't go away."

So much for being the 'Post-Racial Uniter' he would have us believe he is. Those words expose him for the charlatan he truly is. That was a confession of how he, Barak Hussein Obama has been carrying the baggage of a closet racist for all these years!!

Worse still, he admits it was "bred into" him (though I'm sure he would blame his white grandmother for that too) while at the same time he is exposing his two young children to the same hateful rhetoric that he claims poisoned him.
Week after week their kids are forced by Barak & Michelle Obama to absorb the racist rantings of his "mentor and spiritual advisor" Rev Wright. Can I ask - Will THEY ever be able to let it "go away"?
Does anyone really think the kids think of Jeremiah as being "crazy" or just a normal Uncle?

Sorry...but if Senator O'Blame-Ya'll can't even do the right thing by his own chldren I refuse to allow him make any decisions for mine.

Excellent Article Mr. Limbaugh
Agreed! Obama had the opportunity of the millennium to Lead by denouncing the exploitation of race-for-gain. Instead, he took the low ground and enabled it to continue, as before. Too bad.

Of course, I could never vote for him as I am diametrically opposed to his social philosophies, but the uncommitteds are always looking for a positive Leader. Obama took the negative route of exploitation of race-for-gain. Good luck with that.

Italians against Obama
Obama keeps referring to "white" people that do not sound like me or my family. He seems to be talking about white southern anglo people. What Obama doesn't include in his diatribes are the "others."

O, except his pastor says Italians are rich, white Romans who killed Jesus...

NEWSFLASH: Italians did NOT even exist as a people until after 500 years AFTER both the Romans and Jesus lived.

Also, there was never black slavery in Italy while it was going on in England and the U.S. and the Italians that came here to the U.S. did NOT participate in that. In fact, I believe the KKK was lynching Italians at that time.

Italians have brown, white, and even black skin and when Hitler dropped off his racist flyers in Italy saying things like "Jews have dark oily skin and large hook noses and black hair," the Italians just laughed and said "this sounds like us."

(race is not the problem for me) but why would I have such a problem endorsing bama? because I smell a rat!!! (from the beginning...!) Why is it taking so long for people to realize? I just don't understand.......

Typical White Person
I think he is finished. In the same week, Barack said he didn't hear the Reverend ever say those things, then he said he did. Which is it? You can't go to that Church for 20 years and not know what the preacher is saying.

Speaking as a Typical White Person, I lost all respect for him during this whole thing with Reverend Wright, and then for him to say his grandmother is a Typical White Person and these things are bred into us... WTF! How long would it take for me to be called a racist if I said his dad was a Typical Black Man because he got a white woman pregnant and left her???

I hear how black people can't be racist, yet Barack knew this preacher for 20 years, had him as part of his campaign team, and he has the nerve to tell us that he didn't know the good reverend spewed that kind of race bating and hatred??? Even his wife said she isn't proud of America. Yes there are some bad spots in our history, but this is the same Country that she was able to go to an Ivy League Law School and the same for Barack. They grew up in more privilege than me, and they have the nerve to talk like that...
What kind of Church or Preacher spouts that kind of un-Godly hatred and lies? The ones that come to mind are - Oh yeah Muslim Mosques, filled with the people that hate us and want us dead because we aren't muslims. I never hear that from any Christian denomination church I ever attended.
Race relations will not improve, nor will the circumstances for many blacks until certain blacks stop thinking other people owe them something and when people can talk honestly and frankly with each other without bringing race into it.
But who am I? Just another Typical White Person.

Be honest with yourself, AT LEAST!!!
How can anyone fool themselves enough to actually believe that Barrack Obama went to this church for 20 years and did not know about his pastor’s beliefs of racism, And Anti American Ideas? I mean really that we invented aids to kill black citizens and on and on with all kinds of just outright disgusting, hateful and evil things? In GOD’s HOUSE?

COME ON!!! How can anyone with a strait face or with any dignity or intelligence believe Obama after this past week? And after everything we’ve seen with our own eyes and heard with our own ears. I am appalled and just dumbfounded at the people in this country. He is LYING…

Quoting The Lutheran Catechism

Well...I guess that settles the issue.

Have you ever heard of, or read, what are commonly referred to as
Imprecatory Psalms? (You can search the term yourself) I guess David has some splainin' to do.

While I am not suggesting that the 'right' reverend Wright's words are the equivalent of the Psalmist, I am merely pointing out that asking God to curse something, does not rise to the level of spiritual adultery/taking his name in vain. Perhaps the 'right' rev is taking His name in vain by merely calling himself a pastor of a 'christian' church. However, I will let God determine whether or not this 'pastor' is indeed to be revered.

Now there's where the splainin' might be in order.

I would certainly agree with you that his 'leading' children down a path of hate and covetousness would qualify him for the millstone award, I simply don't buy the argument that simply saying Gosh darn
(that would be the Old English equivalent when public cursing was against the law-oooh that'll fool 'em) is a vain use of God's name.

I still want to know what a "black-church" is...

Obama &The Flags
For someone who never cared much for our flag,he surely had lots of them behind him to try to make him look patriotic. It only made him look like the hypocrit he is.

You cannot live your life one way and then when you want something from the people, you try to change the past.He is what he is.All the nice words will not change the past.

He is one of the most liberal Senators in Washington. He has never done anything for ALL the people, just liberals. That alone,is enough for me.

We should all be glad there is a Wright in Obama's life.He has given us a glimpse of who he really is,since he will not tell us.There's a lot more to learn. It will only get worse, but it needs to be done.

abaines
Fear not--people don't get kicked off of TH just for being idiots (as taft, beastie boy, lilly, robert, etc. demonstrate on a daily basis).

Obama
Obama and others in the pews of this church keep racism alive and Wright in business.
