Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Those decriers of "hate" on the left just can't imbibe enough hatred for Karl Rove to quench their "tolerant" and "compassionate" appetites.

What drives them to this persistent state of unmitigated and unforgiving rage? I'll tell you what it's not. It's not that he's an unfriendly, hateful, uncompassionate, unlikable ogre -- because he is none of those things.

It's also not about Iraq, for even the Democrats' most fantastic claims can't reasonably pin that one on him -- though they've tried.

The painfully obvious answer is simply that he has made his career beating Democrats and keeping them out of power most egregiously with that intractible "unilateralist" George W. Bush.

People forget that the left's infernal hatred for President Bush began way before their famous catch-all excuse, the Iraq invasion, was a glimmer in the president's eye. Their permanent antipathy began with the Democrats' 2000 electoral defeat.

It didn't matter that Bush didn't draw first blood in the endless Bush/Gore saga in Florida. It was irrelevant that Bush was on the receiving end of an unprecedented Democratic party-wide conspiracy to steal the presidential election. All that mattered was that he wasn't compliant. He wouldn't get out of their way.

When the United States Supreme Court finally said, "Enough is enough," to the Democrats' disgraceful, chad-manipulating, rule-of-law crushing, propaganda-filled Dade charade, the Democrats' misappropriated victim status in one of the most colossal PR flimflams in American history. And who was most responsible for making them victims?

That's right. That "right-wing Rasputin," the ubiquitous Karl Rove.

He was there from the beginning. No one has been a greater enabler of the pernicious George W., not even Dick Cheney. To the left, Cheney might be the de facto president, but Karl Rove paved the way for both of these demons to be in power. He has earned himself a special place in Hades.

Anything that has gone wrong for Democrats -- from successes in the War on Terror, to sustained economic growth, to the discrediting of their darling Joe Wilson -- had to be laid at the feet of Karl Rove. No one else was quite as masterful at derailing their grand schemes of derailing the Republicans' grand schemes as Karl Rove, so when things went awry for Dems, Rove had to be behind it.

Thus, when Rove testified to the grand jury, Dems were just sure he committed perjury. Why? Because he is Karl Rove, the kingmaker of evil kings, most notably "King George XLIII."

They were sure Rove would be "frog-marched" out of the White House in handcuffs. Why? Because he is Karl Rove, the grand obstructer of Democrat nirvana.

Now that the mad genius has announced his intention to leave the White House, salivating leftist bloggers are fantasizing there will still be a humiliating (and criminal) end to Rove's career. They're on their knees sending up (or sideways) secular prayers that the insatiable Democratic congressional pseudo-investigative machine will virtually imprison him with endless subpoenas and ensnare him in another perjury trap.

Rove truly has driven them crazy from day one. And I do mean crazy. Remember when formerly revered CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite speculated that Rove was behind the release of the Osama bin Laden tape on the eve of the 2004 presidential election?

Even Democrat operative James Carville, who one would think through empathy alone would be less anxious to succumb to his party's negative spin on (and unintentional mythological elevation of) Rove, recently wrote a piece opining that despite his "spectacular successes" in winning elections, Rove has single-handedly "lost an entire generation for the Republican Party."

I don't know where Sir James got his crystal ball, but I'd be a little less sanguine about the Democrats' short-term capitalization on a war fatigue they helped bring about. Before counting Republicans out for a generation, he better be sure his party handily prevails in the 2008 election, which is far from certain at this point, believe it or not.

More recently, mainstream media players are milking Rove's impending departure for all the sadistic pleasure it can provide them and their followers. They beg him to answer questions about Hillary Clinton, and when he responds they accuse him of "relentlessly attacking" her.

An Associated Press "reporter" in the Walter Cronkite mode speculated that the Machiavellian manipulator had turned his sights on Hillary as part of a calculated ploy to get the left to rally behind her because Rove allegedly fears Edwards and Obama would be tougher to be beat.

The AP reporter went on to portray Rove's recitation of the objective fact that "more people have an unfavorable than favorable opinion" of Hillary as "harsh criticism."

The only way you can win with the left is if you let them win. And Rove, as long as he can help it, is never going to let that happen.

The only issue
The only issue for the left is hatered. That is what put red nancy in as speaker and harry the body as the so called leader. Do any of the moonbats running have anything else but hatered for America? NO. I say WHORAH to Karl Rove.

What the left has
The Am. and Eur. left have hate, abortion, minorities on plantations, envy, loss (the great communist nations are defunct, China has a capitalist ec., only Cuba is still true to form), and anger. Except that it promises to "give" my taxes to other people, what does the left really offer?

It doesn't offer achievement. Everyone is equal and flat. It doesn't offer success. People with money should be divested of it. It doesn't offer upward mobility. It sees ambition as the only evil, except for itself. The left always wants the power to tell everyone else how to live (global warming) and what to do (tax credits and incentives).

If you vote for it, you get what you deserve.

What distrubs me...
...is that the Limbaugh brothers continue to let Rove and the White House "use" them. Rove and the President have "zero" respect for Rush and his wise counsel. They've ignored him completely especially on illegal immigration. They continue to pander and grovel for the way over-rated Hispanic vote and at the same time are willing to treat the GOP voting base with indifference and even disrespect.
For some reason Rove continues to get credit for the wins in 2000/04 and the GOP Base gets none. The Bush/Rove/Martinez "wrecking crew" have torn "our" Republican party in half. This is the legacy that Karl Rove leaves as he 2-steps back to Texas where he's not really welcome any longer. DD

The Biggest Rat Jumped Ship..
One of the most divisive political operatives of modern times has jumped from the titanic like presidency of Mr. Bush that he helped create..good riddance.

the left
if one couldn't believe reality they would think this is merely a battle between the good, trhe dims and the bad, the repubs. The left is so convinced they are right on everything that to oppose them is to sanction the enemy. They present their current knight on a white hore, the missus clinton, riding into battle wearing the armour or truth and justice against those evil warmongers, the conservs, who want to destroy the aclu from protecting americans from being exposed to nativity scenes and making sure that women can get all their abortions no questions asked. Ity seems that in their mad dash to socialism any bump in the road in a hindrence to creating the new nirvana ruled by the omniscient left

SSGTRET-WildWest
The Left’s response to Rove is Positively Pavlovian! Just mention his name and they start Foaming at the Mouth!

I propose an experiment, let’s take a Communist Liberal and one of Ronnie Paul’s ALCOAettes. We isolate them both in soundproof rooms. Then, to The Communist Liberal we’ll say “Karl Rove”. To the ALCOAette we’ll say “Ron Paul doesn’t have a chance to be elected President”. Then let’s see which one foams more at the mouth :)!

Rove on Fox News
I only caught one of Mr. Rove's appearances on the Sunday talk shows. I thought he did a great job on Fox. The leftist psycho-babble about Karl Rove is truly beyond comprehension.

Check out a new blog authored by a young conservative:

THE 18th MEMO
http://memo18.blogspot.com/

Limbaugh has libs' number
Limbaugh nails it. The left hates Rove because he beat them. For all of their caterwauling about how evil and destructive he is they can't cite one thing he has actually said or done to substantiate their allegations.

It's no different than any other kook whacko lunatic leftist fringe conspiracy theory. 9/11 was an inside job, Cheney conspired with big oil and Enron, Diebold rigged the 2000 election, and Rove is an evil genius who succeeds with dirty tricks and by destroying careers.

I think I'll buy a franchise for selling tin-foil hats. Looks like it'a going to be a BULL market for some time to come.

Darvin makes a good point
While I always appreciate and usually agree with David and his brother, I have to admit that Rove's political machine used the conservative media to maintain power while ignoring the core tenants of conservatism, creating the split in the Republican party we have today. Rush opposed the Medicare/Medicaid Px Drug Benefit, yet Rove advised Bush on carrying it through. The same applies to the No Child Left Behind initiative, created by alcoholic libtard Kennedy. Illegal immigration reform? This was an issue Rush and David said needed to be dealt with by enforcing current laws, not creating amnesty. What did the President do with Rove nodding his approval?

While Rove has some worthy attributes, the GOP is not the same party it once was in 2000 when Bush was first elected, and Rove has to carry some of the blame. True, the Left's hatred of Rove is stunning and undeserved, but with Rove gone, I'm happy that his political force is out of the President's decision-making processes, at least directly.

Wiseone
If you’ll cut me in for 50%, I can make us MILLONAIRES by sundown!

Get The Liberal Loonies bidding against Ronnie Paul’s ALCOAettes for Tinfoil.

WE COULD MAKE A KILLING!

wiseone: repubs/cons hated Clinton..
because he beat them AND took away something they thought they owned: THE WHITE HOUSE...

and whats really ironic is that if Sen. Clinton wins the dem nomination and the presidency in 08,
Mr. Clinton will have BEATEN them again.lmao

Rove's not riding into the sunset!
The big question that needs to be asked about Karl Rove at this point is: Which one of the republican presidential hopefuls will he be joining up with next? With his proven track record of thrashing the Dems, he's got a lot to offer. Besides, he doesn't seem like the sort of man to stay out of the arena, especially with so much riding on the outcome of the 2008 presidential race. Does anyone really think he's not being courted by one or more of the candidates as we speak?

Rove
He beats them at every turn. That's why they hate him.

Left Angle
Hate to burst your bubble but if Congress doesn't get it together they are going to hurt the Dems in the 08' elections.

Left Angle
We did not "hate" Clinton. We had a special kind of contempt for him. It is the kind of contempt that is reserved for people who are habitual liars, hypocrites, and phonies, and who then make a career of accusing their opponents of being what they are as a preemptive strike.

Everything that the left complains about the right doing to Clinton was invented and perfected by the Clintons themselves, particularly "the politics of personal destruction".

Yes, Clinton beat us in '92 and '96. And if his wife wins in '08 and/or '12 he will have beaten us again. But unlike the left's obsession with Rove, we can point to specific, real words and actions that verify our case against both Clintons.

"We can give the middle class a tax cut, provide national health care, and balance the budget."

"I did not have sex with that woman ... Monica Lewinsky."

"I want to take those profits and use them to fund research for alternative sources of energy."

"We must destroy her."

And I'm sure that I've missed a few.

These are the two most selfish, conceited, arrogant, and thoroughly corrupt people in US history. Even Julius and Ethel Rosenburg didn't pretend they were doing something noble.

I can hate the Rosenburgs for the traitors they were. But the Clintons are beneath hating. At times they are beneath contempt.

And to compare these two thoroughly corrupt excuses for human beings to Karl Rove is just one more feeble liberal exercise in moral relativism.

Rove's a player
I really hope Mrs. Cinton gets the Democratic nomination. Rove wouldn't be able to stand it. He'd have to be involved in bringing her down to defeat. I just can't see him sitting on the sidelines wishing that the Republican nominee would say this or do that differently. Someone like Rove grinds his teeth when opponents prosper. We surely have not seen the last of him. He'll be back. You better believe the Left is praying that he stays out of it.

wiseone
why waste your time arguing with idiots like left angle. He is nothing more than your typical lib. Unable to see the truth about the dims but always seeing a rightwing boogerman. He is quick to make accusations concerning the right, always defends the dims but never answers questions and acts indignant when challenged. But like all supporters of kos they operate with selective memory. But he nows admits the left sees an incoming victory for bubba. I guess that even the left knows that without bubba the missus clinton would be nothing. The left knows she stands for nothing but their hatred for bush is their real driving motive. But telling themselves lies doesn't translate to truth

Democrat Monopoly No More
Karl Rove puts a face on what the democrats hate the most: a well informed, educated, political-savvy electorate. An electorate that is turning on them more and more and they can't stand that. The more that the message on the right gets out, the more people realize that the democrats like their electorate poor, ignorant and angry. Taking Rove out, along with their "Fairness Doctrine", would be a major victory in their stifling of free speech and keeping the general public mis-informed. No wonder they hate KR.

wiseone: get real...
clinton kicked repub/con arse for eight years and continues to do it...and yeah you can parse it all you want repubs/cons STILL HATE THE CLINTONS...the very mention of their names...
I can feel it coming thru YOUR post...your list above is nothing more than a rehash of the same bs, lame, tired, charges and conspiracy theories that dont add up to a hill of beans. if they are so corrupt criminals as you say, why are they not in jail?

I look forward to the day of watching people such as your self CHOKE on your crow sandwiches
as Prez elect Hillary Clinton takes the oath of office in 09, with her husband and co-president
Bill Clinton smiling beautifically in the background with the knowlege that he has handed the repubs/cons the arses once again..lmao

wiseone: stop it yer killin me....
are you not one of the repub/cons geniuses running around shouting at the dem prez candidates:

LIBERAL COMMIE COMMUNIST PINKO SOCIALISTIC TRAITORS!!!!

you idiots actually think your NEW MCCarthyism
is gonna win you elections?

Its sad watching the self destruction of the repub/con coalition led by of all people YOUR OWN PREZ BUSH...LOL

correction:
the above post is for wildwest.

Left Angle
The grownups need to talk now.

Left Angle
I see you just can't resist an opportunity to prove Limbaugh's article is correct!

eddred
Surely this is not your first sojourn in TH land? Hatred seems to be drawn to the us with a sort of devilish magnetism. The Left hates Rove, Bush, both Limbaugh's, and just about every other person with even the slightest tilt to the right. It's nice to see the Left still responds to outside stimuli, though, and the comments that find their way onto these pages show that doing and saying something RIGHT (in every sense of the word)attracts flocks of wild liberals like a duck call.

LA misses the point again
First, the article is about Rove, not the Clintons.

Second, my comments are about liberals and Rove, not conservatives and Clinton.

You cannot dispute the article or my post so you have resorted to the same "tired" liberal "crap" of changing the subject and moral relativism. You have become another example of liberal hypocrisy, i.e. another liberal who bashes cons for defending Bush by saying "Clinton did it too," but then resorts to CHANGING THE SUBJECT of debate to "cons did the same to Clinton."

You have also completely avoided (ran from) the challenge to furnish an actual example of Rove being "mean", employing "dirty tricks", or trying to ruin people.

I have provided you a list of Clinton scandals which have been substantiated with evidence and statements of victims and/or witnesses. You have provided NOTHING.

Finally, even your morally relativist analogy is flawed. You insist on comparing conservative antipathy for an elected official, which includes his legally binding actions, with liberal antipathy for a member an elected official's staff, who has no legal authority.

What has Rove ever actually done to anybody? Give me an example. Put up or shut up.

wiseone///blah blah blah
give me an example of liberal hatred toward Rove.

one more thing..
out of your list which ones were the clintons actually indicted for a crime?

wiseone
Your patience is too precious to squander this way.

wiseone
You're trading blows with a fool, and a blind and lame one at that. If his mind were not diseased, it might be worth the effort.

MyOpine
I know. But it's a slow day and I can always use the practice.

It's like hitting good shots at the practice range. You don't like to waste them there, but if you never hit any good ones on the range you won't be able to do it on the course when it counts.

Left Angle
I hereby accept your gracious admission of defeat. No doubt you modeled it after Al Gore's concession of the 2000 election.

ah wiseone: per your request.
"In the fall of 1970, Rove used a false identity to enter the campaign office of Democrat Alan J. Dixon, who was running for Illinois State Treasurer, and stole 1000 sheets of paper with campaign letterhead. Rove then printed fake campaign rally fliers promising "free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing", and distributed them at rock concerts and homeless shelters, with the effect of disrupting Dixon's rally (Dixon eventually won the election). Rove's role would not become publicly known until August 1973. Rove told the Dallas Morning News in 1999, "It was a youthful prank at the age of 19 and I regret it.

ah wiseone....more on your hero rove...
"Dolan went (anonymously) to the Washington Post with recordings of several training seminars for young Republicans where Rove discussed campaign techniques that included rooting through opponents' garbage cans. On August 10, 1973, in the midst of the Watergate scandal, the Post broke the story in an article titled "Republican Party Probes Official as Teacher of Tricks."

At Nixon's request, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent questioned Rove. As part of the investigation, Atwater signed an affidavit, dated August 13, 1973, stating that he had heard a "20 minute anecdote similar to the one described in the Washington Post."

wiseone: where are you?
I got more examples if you want em...lmao

Whoever
said that the Democrats are shaking in their boots because they don't know where Rove is going, which campaign, is clueless.

The Democrats will love to have Rove remain in the picture during this election. They'll use him and eat him up, because he represents a false conservative image. He's a neo-con freak who stole the Republican Party from the true conservatives.

Him and Bush and the other idiots running the party these days have caused us damage to an extent that we might not realize for years to come. Rove and Coulter have ruined our party. Those of you who like these two people, get the hell out of my party. It's for real conservatives, not global liberals like Rove et al.

Take your party back. The Independents have fled our party because of people like Rove and Coulter. These people drive away the middle voters in droves, which is death to our nominee.

I call on all decent, stand-up type of men and women to take back your Republican Party for the enhancement of real conservatism in America. Don't let Rove and Coulter, et al, screw the middle and whittle down the base, just to promote their own agendas...which are toxic to the Republican Party, and to true conservatives everywhere.

Huck or Hunter or Paul, if you nominate anybody else, then leave my party. If you are going to nominate a CINO global liberal in place of a real conservative, you'll ruin our party for years to come, if not forever.

Either embrace conservatism as a guiding principle in government, or nominate a CINO like Fred or Mitt or Rudy. If you do the latter, you'll be the blame for turning the Republican Party into liberal-lite forever.

ah wiseone....down for the count...
get off the floor dude....(as the ref counts)

1,2,3,4.....

ah wise one: on karl roves "meaness"
"At a fund-raiser in New York City for the Conservative Party of New York State in June 2005, Rove said, "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."

Democrats demanded Rove's resignation or an apology, and pointed out that every Democrat in the Senate voted for military force against Al-Qaeda in retaliation for the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States; however they got neither."

I suppose you would call casting aspersions on the patriotism of democrats " a kind thing to do"?

get up dude....6..7...8....

Left Angle
While you are digging up this trivial stuff on the net, can you post a link so we can verify
the source?

Something like this?
http://www.dailyrepublican.com/clinton_communists.html

The secondary theme of this article is Libs spewing hate in all direction like a lawn sprinkler sprays water.

Every Lib post seems to verify that fact.

Wiseone
how about Rove's decision to start a whispering campaign that Ann Richards was not only still drinking but was a lesbian and George Bush would clear the lesbians out of the State House. This worked so well for them that they carried it into the national campaign.

Somehow, I doubt you would think any of Mr. Rove's campaign tactics are wrong. Getting the power seems to be the most important thing to both sides now--not that they actually do anything in the best interest of the country as a whole.

Left angle, you're GOOD...
"At a fund-raiser in New York City for the Conservative Party of New York State in June 2005, Rove said, 'Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.'"

... and you, apparently believe this demonstrates Rove's "meanness". LOL This statement by Rove endeared him to good Americans because he told the unvarnished TRUTH without stooping to mindless invective and personal attacks.

Here's the alternate universe inhabited by modern Democrats:

"IF YOU TELL THE TRUTH about Democrats, you're spewing hatred and bile; IF YOU ENGAGE IN HATRED AND BILE about Republicans, you're telling the truth."

my opine: the refs still counting...
trivial? dude please..the guy admits what he did
Dixon (D)...nixon had the fbi investitigate rove and atwater signed an afidavit confirming what was alleged about "going thru opponents garbage cans etc...rove didnt say what he did about libs/dems in that June 2005 speech..this is serious stuff and because now your boy wiseone is down for the count youre calling trivial..
al this stuff is documented and the truth.

check out Dona261 account of rove on ann richards. there is even more...

ref continues to count...8...9

chris: whatever dude...
apparently the democrats did think it was mean spirited and false because they were furious at the time it was said. it was the truth? it was an opinion, not a fact. learn to differentiate dude.

so in your world democrats.libs dont constitute
the part of the american people..

Talk about right wing alternate universe..lmao

Left Angle
From your posts I see you are innocent of basic campaign tactics.

As to yours & Donna's remarks;

Now say for instance;
If I was to claim the Democratic Party hated the Boy Scouts because they will not submit to NAMBLA as Scout Masters and add the Democratic Party caters openly to pedifiles,,,

You would expect me to provide some link to information verifying that, yes?

those words definately do not belong in the same sentance, unless your talking about the Demonrat 'leadership' cheering for the terrorists

chris...
i bow to the rights (alleged) intellectual superiority..lol

you while youre at if take a long running jump

your boy just had his arse handed to him...

9...10 KO Left angle over wiseone.,,,,,

rotflmao

Dona261
No, I do not approve of that tactic. Is there real evidence that Rove did it? Or is it like the 'rumor' I heard that it was Ann Richards' campaign that started the rumor that GWB shirked his ANG duties?

Is it like the rumors I've heard that Enron donated to Bush's gubernatorial campaign but somehow left out the fact that Enron also donated to Richards' campaign?

Left angle, congratulations...
You counted all the way to ten!! I was a little concerned for awhile there, but you made it! Be sure to properly thank wise one for providing the motivation that made this accomplishment possible...

Left dangle
Hey did Clinto kick Repub arse when he won with 43% of the vote when Perrot took 18% from Bush? Did he kick their arse when he signed welfare reform? Or when the Contract with America ran over him? Typical libdrool - always refining history. And here's a headsup for you libdolt: Republicans hated Clinton not because he took the WH, tho that did tick them off, they hated him because he was lying, philandering scumbag, and that's even before he got to DC. People like you prove the depravity of the Dims when someone like Bubba is your hero. We can both say a lot about GWB and the job he's done (and you have) but he still doesn't come close to Bubba on the lowest end of the slime-meter!

my opine...a response
you want sources...

just put: Karl Rove Dirty Tricks

in your favorite search engine and take your pick

when the results come back.

there are a multitude of "sources".

chris a question for you
you stated:

... and you, apparently believe this demonstrates Rove's "meanness". LOL This statement by Rove endeared him to good Americans because he told the unvarnished TRUTH without stooping to mindless invective and personal attacks.

So "good americans" are only those who support
Bush on Iraq and those that dont are not?

yes or no?

Left Angle
You make much noise like an empty vessel.

Oh!

LA
1973?????

Yeah, that explains everything. After all of your searching, which includes all of the left's searching because all you did was google "Karl Rove", you are so desperate for something that you go back to 1973. 1,000 sheets of paper.

Yeah LA, you win. That's waaayyyy more important than standing united as a nation during time of war. I can't argue with that.

Re: ""Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."

Democrats demanded Rove's resignation or an apology, and pointed out that every Democrat in the Senate voted for military force against Al-Qaeda in retaliation for the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States; however they got neither."

Let's see. The same Democrats who had spent the previous two years accusing Bush of lying about pre-war intelligence (which was compiled by a Democrat administration and which their own party leaders saw) and had actually drafted a plan to use lack of WMD to impeach Bush, and who were vocally and publicly disparaging the administration's handling of the war, Gitmo, and the use of FISA, and who were publicly calling for withdrawal, retreat, "redeployment", and saying the war was lost, and who were trying to get the courts to force Bush to turn terrorists over to civilian courts complained that Rove called them on it, openly and publicly. Yep, sounds like a mean, dirty trick to me all right.

Tell me, did Rove engage in the kind of ad hominem attacks the left has used against him and GWB for the last 6-1/2 years?

Left dangle
Let me help you understand English a little better:

"mean spirited and false" = anything said that the Dims don't want to hear, don't want anyone to know, or disagree with.

I hope that helps you improve your debating skills. And oh by the way: Rove going thru someone's garbage sure is mean. You chump. Is that all you've got is the Cr@p you put up? Pathetic.

Left Dangle
Did you ever think that unlike you, Wiseone has a job and a life?

The real point
The real point LA, is that until we challenged you on it TODAY, you were totally unaware of any of the things you claim you can find by googling "Rove".

And that is EXACTLY Limbaugh's point. You're running around a blog site bashing Rove and you don't even know why; couldn't name a single "dirty trick" without a computer search. Not even a good rumor.

You hate Rove because he beat you. Period.

Rove's Legacy
I can remember the past twelve administrations, roughly half Democrat and half Republican, and NEVER has their been such a climate of hatred and divisiveness. Mostly life just went along, regardless of who was in the White House. As I understand the matter, Rove got Bush II (who had never distinguished himself in any way) into the White House by splitting the American people into factions and turning them against one another. Yes, there had to be some of that feeling already there, but Rove exploited it for political gain---it's as if he found small streaks of political hatred and fed them steroids and vitamins. Nowadays I hear the rhetoric against Democrats as it's presented on talk radio and FOX, in books by such as Coulter, and on websites like townhall---and the vitriolic focus on Democrats (aka liberals, Demonrats, Dimmokrats, Socialists, Communists etc) reminds me precisely of the way Jews were talked about in Europe in the 1930's. And it's Rove who got this ball rolling. He has destroyed civility in American public discourse, and I doubt that this monster can be put back into its box. This is hardly a legacy for Rove's party to be proud of.

You can't name a single Rovean dirty trick? I can. When Bush II ran against John McCain in the South Carolina primary, a crew of the faithful telephoned local voters to tell them that McCain had fathered an illegitimate black baby. The black child in his family turned out to be a Biafran orphan McCain and his wife had adopted. And here's another: When Bush II ran for Governor of Texas, operatives spread the word that incumbent Governor Ann Richards was a lesbian and the women working in her office were lesbians. And here's another: in his pre-Bush days, young Rove stole letterhead stationery from a prominent Democratic politician and used it to send out invitations to homeless bums that they should come to a specified Democratic event and get free food and liquor. And one more: when Bush II's staff took over the White House offices, they gave it out that, before leaving, Clinton's staff had trashed and vandalized the offices. They gave this release to the mainstream media and the story was widely believed, winning sympathy for the newly-elected president. Later, Press Secretary Ari Scheiffer said the story had been "disinformation" (a deliberate lie planted for political gain).

political civility was worse during the 1800's. Jackson's opponents called his wife a w*ore as she married jackson while still married to another man. Cleveland was accused of marrying to cover up an unexpected pregnacy. nasty politics have been around a very long time. But the clinton's are the last people to moan about civility. Missus clinton headed up the war room which attacked any and all that missus clinton saw as perceived enemies of bubba. Missus clinton is also the author of the vast right wing conspiracy which was again an empty attempt to strike out at imagined enemies over bubba's misdoings. Her veiled attempt to accuse repubs of trying to over turn the election was pure dishonesty. Had bubba been found quilty by the senate, it would have only brought alldull into the presidentcy not some repub.

Your question?
"So "good [A]mericans are those who support Bush and those who dont are not?"

Patriotism is not a partisan political matter.
It is not a matter of supporting Bush, it is a matter of supporting YOUR NATION in time of war!

Those who don't?
Some fall into this bag!

Others sell their patriotism like a whore sells her body.

AND NOTICE I USE LINKS?
Where are your links?

Thank you lilly
By yourself you have given more examples of Rovian "dirty tricks" than all other lib posters combined.

Unlike them, at least you know why you dislike Rove.

Do you have links for the SC and White House items?

I'm curious to know more. I thought the Clintons really had taken items from the White House (not vandalized it). And I thought McCain self-destructed in the GOP primaries by attacking the Christian right.

wiseone: a response.
the bottom line is you got your arse handed to you..go back and reat the thread and all the smack you and your boys were talking to me.
You dont know how I did it because you didnt even see it coming. you know how?

I used you smug arrogance, supposed intellectual supperiority, conceit, and overconfidence against you.

you thought you had me on the ropes pummeling me
into submission and I came back with a unseen left hook that left you on the floor in a heap senseless with stars circling your head..I had the ref count you out slowly..lmao

Dude, it is common knowlege that Karl Rove has used "dirty tricks" and vile insulting rhetoric against libs/dems...what has changed is he has learned to let repub/on activist groups like switftboaters do his dirty work while he is behind the scenes controlling it.

I dont hate rove. I just see him for what he is:

a very good albiet dirty politcal operative.

The way you talk about Rove is the same way we conservatives talk about James Carville. Talk about a mean sprited person. What did Mary Matelin see in this guy anyway?

The ONLY thing you have won around here is DISTRUST!

Where are the links I keep asking you for?
How are we to know that you have not posted some creative editing?

SHOW US THE LINKS!

It was a Liberal who taught me to use links.
This is the first link I ever posted.
Might still work.

Another Reason
the left hates Karl Rove is because when algrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr was busy creating the internet and globull warming, Karl was busy creating the vast right wing conspiracy. HA!

I heard it from a Republican friend. I didn't put much stock in it because given how almost everyone has friends or family who are homosexual or lesbian, I didn't think they would do something so dumb. When President Bush said he supported amendments to constitutions against that minority when he was running for president, I believed it. Sadder still is that is was so successful. President Bush did shirk his Air National Guard duties in the last two years but then he had pretty much blown off everything he had ever tried.

The point is that Mr. Limbaugh's comments are in the extreme because you all seem to need the energy that you get from being told someone hates you.

I don't like it from anyone and James Carville is not a hero to me. I am tired of the nastiness and slime while real problems go unaddressed.

It is absolutely true that Clinton staffers did vandalize WH office before they left including stealing many of the letter "W" from keyboards. So does that mean telling the truth is mean spirited?? This logic has always bothered me, there are many different ways of being mean spirited but telling the absolute truth and using an individuals own actions/votes/track record against them is not mean spirited at all.

Check this link out from the Clinton News Network ohh sorry... I mean CNN!
http://archives.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/stories/01/26/whitehouse.pranks/index.html
It was President Bush and his staff including Ari who decided to sweep it under the rug and let children be children... but all that gets him is foolish denial by Clinton apologists like you. I guess since the President didn’t pursue the people responsible it didn’t really happen right? FYI the administration never once said that it was as you said “ disinformation” this is a myth spead by liberals. Prove it with a link if you can….

I read a book a couple of years ago from a former Bush WH staffer (for the life of me I can’t remember his name but he was a lawyer who ended his time at the WH working for the VP) who tells the same story of trash everywhere, useless keyboards, cartoons and other items intended to make fun of the new president strewn about. He was appalled at the conditions in such a wonderful place as the WH offices. I suppose you will tell me the staffer was simply telling the story to add a few pages to his book?

Since we can't beleive this story how can we belive anything else you write. FYI did you notice that KR does accept responsiblity for the 1973 incident as a 19 year old and regrets it?? Doesn't sound mean spirited to me!

Dirty Tricks
Alot of this dirty trick stuff you guys are posting including the internet site is bogus like so much on the web. As to the Clintons, they did try and take stuff. As to them trashing the WH Laura Bush said they did not however they could have done more to update and maintain it. Quite frankly I just don't think that is the type of thing HC likes and she never intended to be a traditional FL but to share duties and power. As to McCain, Bush totally denounced the dirty tactics and McCain himself admitted that he couldn't tie it directly to Bush. Kind of like Obama and the Obama girl stuff. He never asked her to do that. Alot of people want to win so badly that think the end justifies the means. It happens on both sides of the aisle. BTW McCain did lose because he did indeed tick off the Evangelicals. SC as a state all alone would not have made a difference. Dona261 is right. this bunk is old. And we have the utter gall why there are no ethics in DC.

I wish you luck trying to get one of these Leftists to verify their creative editing with a link.

You are the 3rd person to ask.
I get a feeling we are reading MoonBat Bladderskat!

RockyMountainHigh
I have to agree with you and Bush. I do think he took the high road as he always does and I am glad that he did.

lilly
There is no proof what so ever bush shirked his guard duties. Another myth. Knowing how well the govt. keeps records I can see how exactly this story got started.

Hey I enjoyed
the 2000 elections. I got to watch the dems squeal like pigs as Bush won the presidency five times!

For Dona261 and lilly
I have done my best to verify all of the complaints against Rove you two gave me and in all cases I come to the same dead end. In all cases his opponents insist that Rove must have been behind it, but no one is able to say for sure he was.

In the SC primary the McCain campaign is sure only that "Bush supporters" spread rumors that McCain fathered an illegitimate Biafran child and that he was now mentally unstable because of being tortured in Vietnam. But even his campaign manager admitted that they could never trace it back to Rove.

The discussion about the Ann Richards rumor is similar. Liberal websites all say that reporters covering the campaign were sure that Rove was behind it, but none of them can cite any real evidence.

Finally, I was able to confirm to my satisfaction that the Clintonites pulled a few pranks like removing the "w" from some keyboards and leaving some handmade signs like "Office of Strategery" on some doors. That was it. Everything else was an exaggeration or worse, including the allegations that Air Force One was looted. But again, none of the stories I found tied any of this to Rove.

The accusers claim that their beliefs are founded in the similarity of these events and that Rove was the common factor in all of them.

I personally don't think that any of these things, even if proven true, justify the levelof some of the hate that has been directed at both Rove and Bush for more than 6 years.

wiseone
LA didn't like your extensive yet incomplete list of Clinton shannanigans. He asks that you cite where the Clintons were indicted. Yet he goes on to give examples of Rove, Bush and Conservative hatred-none citing indictments or convictions.

Let me add one more. Over 100 people pleading the fifth and/or fleeing the country rather than testifying agianst the mafia, oops! I mean the Clintons.

getting back on topic...
In my opinion, Rove is a convenient extension for the irrational "Totalitarians", Bush Derangement Syndrone" (BDS). Actually, I am glad that Rove has moved on, for what ever reason. Conveniently, the Leftists attribbuted Rove with next to magical powers over the all but lunatic electorate.. lol. How did that work for him related to the 2006 election and the "Scamnesty" Bill? It was algore losing his home state which lost him the 2000 election, and the Swift Boat Vets & Dan Rather lies which got Bush re-elected in 2004; Not so much Rove. I never cared for Rove's trianulating, statagizing "conniving" which for a while, enabled them (Bush & Rove) to beat the Donkeys at their own game.. but it doesn't seem to work anymore for El Presidente Bush. "Hasta la Vista" Karl Rove.

Jack-full-of-Shiite
You either have a fortified compound out in the sticks where you're "waiting to defend yourself against the mark of the beast", or you live with your mother in the basement.

I would encourage you to get out more, but that would do you no good. Just provide us with the physical address of your present home so we can give it (and you) as wide a berth as possible!

Quite sad, actually...

Ha
This entire thread is hilarious. Why am I not surprised that a town Hall columnist would spend alot of time tsk-tsking about the left's hatred of Karl Rove?

Where was he (and the rest of you) during the Clinton years? In a severe coma?

No, just justified.
