Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

In our nation, even twisted extremists are welcome to express their opinions.

Take, for instance, the young Muslim woman in Florida who used her constitutional right to tell Jews to "go back to the oven!" last week. Or the more befuddled protestor in New York, who brandished a sign that read, "Death to All Juice."

And I thought we Jews ran this country. Clearly, someone is sleeping on the job.

These rare but revolting displays of hate do offer the Juice a valuable reminder that a secure Jewish state in Israel is a historic imperative.

Nevertheless, it is distressing to hear the large number of supposedly peace-loving critics of Israel, in essence, defend Hamas, one of the most virulently nonintellectual, illiberal, bellicose, misogynistic, hateful and violent brand of religious fanaticism on earth.

It's no easy trick, mind you. After all, the magnificently overused "cycle of violence" -- a platitude that shrewdly spreads blame equally among the culpable and innocent -- has, thankfully, cliched itself to death. So now, detractors have turned to a feeble argument, which claims Israel is guilty of failing to deploy a "proportional" response against Hamas.

It is said that every story has two sides. In this tale, one group has a nihilistic interest in placing Jews in ovens (though Hamas, without Iran, lacks the technological capacity to construct a match, much less an oven) and the other side, a stubborn habit of postponing this fate.

For Israel, there is no choice. There is no political solution. No happy ending. No one to talk to. The present circumstance in Gaza refutes the left's quixotic notion that antagonists can just, you know, hug it out for peace. It also counters the neoconservative idea that democracy will spread among people who place no value on freedom.

Because Gaza is free. Obviously, the Palestinians cannot be placated with an independent state -- a gift they never had until Israel handed them Gaza with nary a condition. But this is not a 3,000-year-old war steeped in ancient history, despite widespread perceptions. This was a 20th-century battle between Jewish and Arab nationalists. It has turned into a more insidious 21st-century war with Islamic fundamentalism.

Hamas will not be romanced by the idea of "building bridges" with Israel. There are not enough conferences rooms in Oslo or Davos to persuade Hamas even to recognize the existence of a Jewish state.

And Hamas is uninterested in cease-fires, except when it is in need of reloading rocket launchers -- supplied by mullahs of Iran.

When asked whether he ever could imagine a long-term cease-fire with Israel, Hamas leader Nizar Rayan responded, "The only reason to have a (cease-fire) is to prepare yourself for the final battle."

Reportedly, Rayan celebrated the idea of martyrdom and death in this glorious battle against Jews not only for himself but also for his family.

The Israeli air force blew Rayan into nano-pieces last week in what we call a "win-win" situation.

Rayan's four wives and 11 of his children unfortunately died along with him. But make no mistake: Every Arab civilian who perishes does so at the hands of Hamas.

First, the group provoked Israel with thousands of rocket attacks indiscriminately aimed at civilian centers. Once Israel responded -- after years of warnings -- Hamas placed caches of weapons near schools, mosques and homes in an effort to cause carnage on its own people. Civilian death is the point.

Most reasonable Americans understand that Israel did not invade Gaza to terrorize the civilian population or murder the innocent. Israel is there to dismantle Hamas' infrastructure and dispose of as many jihadists as possible.

Will Israel's latest assault create more terrorism? Will it radicalize Palestinians even further? It's possible -- though it's also hard to imagine how anyone could be more extreme.

What other nation would allow a terror state to attack it on a daily basis without defending itself? The answer is none.

wipe'm all out
bout time israel took action. i hope they wipe out every last one of those worthless throwbacks. hopefully iran is next up.

High compression ratio
You've managed to sum things up pretty well in a small space. Hamas is made up of terrorists. They don't want land or peace. They want death. There's no negotiating with them -- not in this generation anyway. Indeed, repudiation of talk is the main difference between Hamas and Fatah. Fatah intermittently bargains for advantage before resuming its program of genocide. Hamas has no patience with bargaining.

The only reasonable tasks left for Israel are to kill the worst of the monsters, destroy their infrastructure, and so demoralize the survivors that they turn their frustration and hatred on their fellow Arabs, who abandoned them sixty years ago. Egypt, Jordan, and the rest of the Arab world have turned a short-term regional refugee-assimilation problem into a chronic global crisis by insisting that Palestinians be the sole problem of Israel. It's well past time that Israel pushed the problem back onto them.

Death to all Juice....
Bwahahahah...Classic!!!! The only thing worse than a anti-semite is a illiterate one.

Anyone know..
how I can go about getting a contract hit on V-8...my wife forces me to drick a glass of that cr*p every day.

Ooops
sorry...drink...well my wife did marry me for my fat fingers.

Take it Back,
Since giving up territory has completely failed in its purpose of gaining Israel peace I think Israel would be completely within their rights to take back every square inch that they've given to their avowed enemies.

A Small Idea
Here's an idea - start with something small - and then incrementally move the situation - kind of like how liberals take over stuff (but I digress). After this round of fighting, get the Saudis to finance and run a small "Enterprize Zone" in gaza, adjacent to the Israeli border. No Israeli's involved - and no big political aspirations - just some jobs for Gazans to help them out. No Jews around to blow up. Then steadily increase the size over time. And if Hamas does blow it up, they'll be taking away their own people's jobs - and THAT DOES get people upset. Just do a little bit a time and steadily increase it.

Stop BenjaminBarker
You're killing me.
I'm in hysterics.

Perhaps you should post that "fat fingers" comment over on today's Brent Bozell column.

Bottle Rockets
Can you imagine if the guy living next door shot bottle rockets at you and your kids at all hours of the night and day?

Even when you call the police they just let him back out of jail and he continued shooting bottle rockets at you.

Then if you retaliate he tells the press and the police that he’s the victim of your aggression and will not rest until you move.

In hockey they call that hacking and slashing and then intentional diving so the refs call penalties on your team.

This aggressive/ victim strategy sound very familiar.

Can you think of some examples of how that strategy is used right here in the U.S.A?

Death to All Juice
It seems to me that the holder of the "Death to All Juice" sign would have opposed the death penalty for OJ Simpson's murder of Ron Goldman.

Homer Refs hard to play against
Life imitates Hockey or Hockey imitates life?

When the press and the judges are homers for the chaos and confusion only the Lawyers, Judges, and the press win the tax payers get stuck with the bill.

Death to all Juice...
heh heh heh

That could only have been one of three people:

1) Phylo

2) Hal

3) Robert

That's brilliant! One thing you never see in any news story is "Bomb Flattens Gaza Factory." There is no industry in Gaza, and this is exactly how Hamas (and Fatah) would have it. It's easy to incite the population to violence when they have nothing to do.

Put up factories on the borders, and businesses will not tolerate anyone lobbing rockets from their property.

The difficulty is getting funding and support from Arab and Muslim nations. Most of them don't want an end to fighting, they want Israel gone. Egypt might be willing, they have seen what has become of Palestine, and dislike it enough that they have largely cooperated with Israel's closed boarder policy.

The other problem is that the Palestinians will consider anyone who cooperates with Israel to be a collaborator, and therefore a target. This has become an ideological war for Palestinians. If someone works with the enemy, or doesn't wholly side with Palestinian interests, they are the enemy.

Every story has two sides
but they aren't equally valid. Charles Manson has his side of the story but he is still a mass murderer.

Long before this latest round...
... in the war between Israel and its enemies, I had thought up my own plan on how to harrass Hamas.

Unfortunately, I couldn't hope to put such a plan into effect. It would involve resources I don't possess, friends in high places to whom I would have access only in my dreams, and financial expenditures way beyond my means.

Now, with rockets, missles, artillery shells and small-arms fire flying hither and yon in Gaza, my plan would be a drop in the bucket compared to what the Israeli Defense Forces can do.

So color another creative "hurt-the-terrorists" plan permanently shelved. It would have been interesting to try it though, just to see how Hamas would respond...

THE END IS NEAR
“When asked whether he ever could imagine a long-term cease-fire with Israel, Hamas leader Nizar Rayan responded, "The only reason to have a (cease-fire) is to prepare yourself for the final battle." By David Harsanyi.

Nizar Rayan was NOT, obviously, well prepared for his final battle in the company of his four wives and eleven children when an Israeli bomb landed on his ill-gotten home.

It is also obvious HAMAS will continue to import (via tunnels) weapons of mass destruction and export terrorism and death for the Jews of Israel unless Hamas and the tunnels are obliterated. So it is writ, let it be done!

Since 1948 the UN, EUROPE and the rest of the 'stuck on stupid' have called the Palestinians, refugees. What a hoot! I have seen refugee camps in Rawanda, Sudan, Darfur, Somalia, et cetera.

HAMAS is the reason Palestinians are forced from there homes to become refugees. When Hamas leaders stop using women and children as shields, mosques, school and hospitals as places from which to fire their rockets into Israel…no civilians would be killed.

HAMAS wants Palestinians to be killed by Israelis! Especially women and children who are used as propaganda! This ploy always brings the 'stuck on stupid' out to burn American and Israel flags, screaming "death to America" and "death to Israel." And the beat goes on by the leftist media!

If the Israelis do not get it right this time they deserve whatever fate deals. If they do not I can understand why they wandered in the wilderness for generations.

HAMAS is MOOT
HAMAS and the PLO have been mooching from Iran, Syria, the UN, the EU and Arabs round the world for their existence since 1948. All they manufacture is weapons to kill Israelis. They export terror. They teach their children to hate and kill all infidels, Jews, Americans and anyone else who is not a Muslim.

Who does the 'stuck on stupid' blame for the Palestinians situation? The Israelis and Americans, of course!

Israel should continue with their mission until Hamas is completely obliterated and GAZA is under the control of Mamoud Abbas and Fatah enforcing the laws set forth by the Palestinian Authority.

When and if peace negotiations take place, Israel should make it very clear to the Palestinians and the rest of the 'stuck on stupid' world, this will be the final attempt at peace with any enemy of Israel.

Israel will not make any offers of land for peace to anyone. Israel will announce to the 'stuck on stupid' UN, EU, leftist America and the Arab world, if any suicide bomber kills innocent Israelis or rockets land on Israel soil fired from Lebanon,Hezbollah, Syria or Iran the Israelis will obliterate Hezbollah as they obliterated Hamas in GAZA.
