Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

In the 20th century, communists waged a struggle for global dominance, but there were conflicts within their ranks as well -- disputes over strategy, ideology and doctrine. Bolsheviks fought Mensheviks, Stalin quarreled with Trotsky (Stalin had the last word: an ice pick delivered to Trotsky's skull), Maoists broke with the Kremlin.

Nowadays, a new global struggle by a new breed of totalitarians aims not at establishing an international dictatorship of the proletariat, but rather Dar al-Islam, a world ruled by Muslims. Among these self-described jihadis there also are disputes over strategy, ideology and doctrine.

Sayyid Imam al-Sharif -- also known by the nom de guerre Dr. Fadl -- may be the most influential Islamist you've never heard of. The Telegraph, a British newspaper, notes that he was "part of the tight circle which founded al-Qaeda in 1988 in the closing stages of the war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan." He went on to lead an insurgency against Egypt which landed him in Tora prison in southern Cairo where he has since spent his days thinking and writing.

In 2007, he published The Document of Right Guidance for Jihad Activity in Egypt and the World. In an in-depth report, Daniel Lav, of the invaluable Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), boils Dr. Fadl's "guidance" down to this: The jihadist movement has "strayed from the proper practice of jihad as laid down in Islamic law."

That brought a furious response from Ayman al-Zawahiri, who was once Dr. Fadl's disciple and is now Osama bin laden's top deputy. He wrote A Treatise Exonerating the Nation of the Pen and the Sword from the Blemish of the Accusation of Weakness and Fatigue which alleges that Dr. Fadl was forced to criticize al-Qaeda by CIA and Jewish torturers. Al-Zawahiri also disputes Dr. Fadl's contention that the jihadi movement is militarily and financially unprepared to wage a successful war against the West.

Now Dr. Fadl has returned fire with a new book: Exposing the Exoneration. In it, he comes to a conclusion that would not make him popular at Hollywood parties. "Every drop of blood that was shed or is being shed in Afghanistan and Iraq is the responsibility of bin Laden and Zawahiri and their followers," he writes. "Was it not al-Qaeda that lit the fuse of sectarian civil war in Iraq, through [the actions of al-Qaeda in Iraq commander] Abu Mus'ab al-Zarqawi, who killed the Shi'ites en masse? ...Can the mentality that caused the loss of an Islamic state that existed in reality, in the Taliban's Afghanistan -- can this mentality be expected to establish an Islamic state in Iraq -- in reality, and not on the internet? And have the Islamic peoples become guinea pigs upon whom bin Laden and al-Zawahiri try out their pastime and sport of killing en masse?" Continued...

What to you and Dr. Fadl think of this assessment:
This will take some thinking on the part of readers of this post, but give it a try. If you have questions, please ask for clarification.
It has taken me awhile - 45 years of studying Islam with Muslims, at grad level, 8x to Middle East since '04, world travel before and since including to Africa and Asia, more years dealing with international relations, national defense and politics at all levels+a few other things, but I have figured out finally ObamaSpeak/Write.
Muslim or not - I will not argue that point here - Obama is as he has spoken/written strongly influenced by Muslims, Black Separatists, Socialists, Communists, terrorists and other worthies.
Obama has a plan. He spoke/wrote about it in his 2 books, "campaign rhetoric" - his words, platform as a candidate, in the Obama/Biden Plan - whitehouse.gov - elsewhere and is putting it into effect as fast as he can before too many get it clear.
His plan is to bankrupt the U.S. fully, to the point we will welcome those who have the $$ - oil-holding, producing and other countries, like China. Then we will be in dhimmi.
You can figure it all out as I have by studying all he has done before, on and since 1/20/09. Forget all your beliefs, Western thinking and know a key tenet of Islam is to "seduce (fool) 'em until strong enough to take them over."

I agree, except that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. We tend to think peace means there's no danger when in fact, there is still plenty of danger, it's just not planting bombs anymore.

I believe God will overcome this. The Bible says even the rocks and trees will praise God someday. I think Allah will praise God on Judgment Day because that ole demon will have no choice. But, if we forget what Islam really is and start thinking of it as a religion of peace that can calmly coexist beside infidels -- we're in trouble. We need to remember as a society that Islam's ultimate goal is the conversion of everyone on the planet and that if it doesn't happen peacefully, they're quite willing to take up teh sword once more.

That is very different from the message of CHristianity, which is about reasoning and personal salvation. With us, true conversion can never be based on coersion or violence or inheritance. It's always a personal decision. With Islam, violence is allowed, even encouraged, if peaceful means fail. We have to remember that!
