Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Imagine an American president addressing the United Nations and concluding his remarks by praying that God would hasten Christ’s return and unleash the apocalypse. What do you suppose public opinion would be?

Well, something even scarier actually happened at the UN last week, and the world said... nothing.

That’s because the president in question was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran. At the end of his September 21 address to the General Assembly, he prayed that Allah would send “the perfect human being promised to all by you.”

That “perfect human being” Ahmadinejad prayed for was the Mahdi, a Shiite messianic figure. What made the prayer so scary was that, in Shiite eschatology, the Mahdi’s return will be preceded by an apocalypse that leaves much of the world dead.

Since Ahmadinejad isn’t some nutcase in a backwoods cabin but, rather, the president of an oil-rich nation actively pursuing nuclear weapons, his prayer should have sent shivers down spines. What we got instead is polite applause and business-as-usual.

The response to a speech by Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez was even worse: After Chavez called President Bush “the devil” and joked about smelling sulfur left over from Bush’s appearance two days before, delegates broke into applause and laughter.

Now, President Bush doesn’t need me or anyone else to defend him, but the response to Chavez and Ahmadinejad, both inside and outside the UN, was appalling. It’s more evidence that historian Niall Ferguson is right when he says that “it’s a mad world.”

Ferguson, who teaches at Harvard, compared what happened at the UN to a “university faculty meeting.” “Extravagant, long-winded denunciations of the president is what we’ve come to expect from professors,” not politicians.

The madness is a lot more than rhetorical, however: Ferguson cited the coup in Thailand, rioting in Hungary, and the recent assassination of the deputy chairman of the Russian central bank.

Add to this Islam’s violent response to the Pope’s remarks in Regensburg, and the last thing the world needs to do is encourage an apocalyptic Holocaust-denier and a Fidel Castro-wannabe. Yet that’s exactly what happened.

To his credit, President Bush has shown remarkable restraint. That’s good because somebody needs to be the adult. While we all wish that there had never been a September 11 and that history, as some intellectuals in 1990s proclaimed, was over, we didn’t get what we wanted. As the events of the past few weeks show us, we live in an incredibly dangerous world.

This makes what happened at the UN last week and the silence in its aftermath so shocking. We’re in a clash of civilizations being waged by people, Islamo-fascists, who really do want to destroy us, no matter how much we prefer to think otherwise.

What’s more, as the New Republic recently noted, an “alliance of authoritarian regimes” is using oil as a weapon in its efforts to stop the spread of democracy around the world.

Christians, who should understand the religious and cultural dimensions of this threat, need to help our neighbors understand the volatile world we live in — and the dangers facing Western civilization itself.

The rest of the world...
...does not care because they think that the threat isn't to them. The UN idiot brigade thinks that the jihadists will be happy to continue to attack Israel and that the attacks in Europe were anomolies. Besides, the UN is filled with people that hate the US just as much as Iran and Venezuela...of course they cheered those vile remarks, because they feel the same way.

It's Hard to Believe

....half of congress and half of the senate support the jihadists of the religion of peace. When the next terrorist attack happens on U.S. soil...something "bad" needs to happen to those jihadists supporters sitting in congress and the senate. I getting tired of hearing those sniveling whiners (elected dummycrats) who hate America who claim everything is Americas fault. I sure wouldn't want to be an elected jihadists support after the next terrorist attack on American soil.....

Foretold at Fatima
As a Roman Catholic I have the unique historical context of Fatima to refer to. Back on Oct. 13th, 1917, The Blessed Mother appeared to three shepherd children in Portugal foretelling of the complete annihilation of "entire nations" if people did not stop offending God. The "errors" of Russia (atheism) would spread. Well, actually, anyone can pick up one of the hundreds of books written about Fatima. It's really worth taking a look at this (Catholic or not) as it appears we are looming toward our own demise...

Last days?
People who follow the religion of secularism laugh and scorn what they consider simpleminded “signs and portents”. They see nothing in the universe but random chance. They feel that since there is no God, that they must fill the role themselves.

While it is a safe bet to dismiss human conspiracy theories out of hand if for no other reason than they imply competence, the Bible describes a diabolical conspiracy that will play out in what are called the “last days”.

1 Peter 5:8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

2 Corinthians 2:11 so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

2 Timothy 2:26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

An appealing world character is going to come on the scene in the future and it should not be surprising that his path is already being prepared.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

For those who trust Jesus and receive the forgiveness of their sins, these events hold no threat. One can turn to, receive, and trust in the God who holds the universe together or one can dismiss evil and work towards a one world government where every evil will be cured and education will advance every social good.

Those of us who trust God are called foolish by those who worship the goodness in man. Time will prove exactly who was foolish.

Has either one of you ever read anything by Bud McFarlane? Is there a great warning coming?

ELECTION DAY IS COMING
And the sad fact is, election day results will change nothing. The state of affairs that this country is in at this very moment is very dangerous, the rest of the world showed little re-action to the monkey leaders remarks that were launched last week against the President of the United States. We should consider ourselves in this war against terror alone, and should immediately seal off all American borders, run down and remove all illegal aliens (not just those from Mexico) dismantle and dismember the ACLU and remove ourselves from the policies and politics of United Nations. This is a fight for US survival. The CIA needs to be allowed gather intelligence by whatever means and cost that are available, and politicians need to butt out of trying to run the US military and allow our trained military leaders do their jobs and protect this country with the full military power and capability that the US can dig up. Sorry, but Donald Rumsfeld needs to be the first civilian to be relieved of duties. If it takes the Middle East and a few other locations around the world waking up one morning looking at mushrooms in the sky, at least the United states can feel secure knowing that for the security of the United States we did the right thing by acting instead of finding ourselves in a position of having to react. This is serious business and needs to be treated as such. Last weeks dog and pony show by the little monkey leaders was a clear warning and needs to be treated as one.

Quit passing the buck
Hey folks, especially Lydia, "we the people" are responsible for what our government "lets happen." We have been deferring to the federal government or government in general to deal with all our problems yet acted as if we were impotent to make government do other wise when they have made or continued to make huge mistakes.

Democrats and at least some Republicans are arguing that our enemies now deserve the same rights as we have. The same rights that almost every generation of Americans have fought and made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend.

This war with Islamo-fascism will be won by those where the majority of their supporters have the strongest belief system and sense of dedication to their cause.

It should be truly scary to all that our enemies believe that dying for their cause is the most wonderful thing. Many Americans today believe risking their lives for their country is crazy. It should also be scary that our enemies believe the best thing that can happen to the world is an apocalypse and place that as even a better outcome than conquering the world for Islam.

"The religion of secularism?" Where do Christians get this
idea that the lack of religion is a religion? It's panently
nonsensical.

"Since there is no God?" You're confusing secularism with atheism.

The election won't change anything?
The heck it won't. The election won't make things better, but if democrats win back congress it will make things a whole lot worse. Charles Rangel admitted the other day that if they retake congress they are going to stop all funding to Iraq.....meaning we will have no choice but to cut and run and give the terrorists a HUGE victory that will give them the upper hand in the overall war on terror. Democrats want for us to lose in Iraq, no matter what it does to our country as a whole, so they can say "I told you so" and so they can make Bush look bad. Not to mention, we will not be able to prosecute any war on terror, really, because we'll be busy with the Bush impeachment trial and the numerous "investigations" leading up to it. Some dems will laugh and claim that turnabout is fairplay....I wonder if perhaps some of the things going on in and to this nation nowadays are a little bit more important than the left's need to get revenge for Monica. The dems don't care though, they only care about regaining power and getting revenge on their domestic opposition. So don't kid yourself into thinking the election won't change anything. If the dems win, it will change everything. Oh and on top of that our taxes will get raised again as congress refuses to make the tax cuts permanent.

The nearest danger the first to cut off.
History shows never has been better to postpone acting to control menaces.

Wrong minded and stupid leaders looking for stupid Nobel prices and stupid populist prestige (or some dirty money and substances or silence) have postponed acting against those who start to work to fight and destroy the civilization.

Stupid politicians, waiting nature and age solve the treat criminal Castro in Cuba has been, now can see the wrong they did (not acting on time). Castro's death will not be the cure. Virus has been spread over Caribbean Oil territory and dominates there in a much more virulent variety (bolivarian variety).

Stupid left minded politicians in civilization act to give advantage to religious minded terrorists (part of the humanity still living in medieval age).

Bolivarians are the natural Mohammedan partner in Latin America. Same kind of myths, same criminal behavior, and same trade interests (drugs, human beings, etc.). Now weapons, uranium, gold and diamonds.

The mine men killed by president orders "to erase all kind of mine men resistance by any mean", "to give miners a lesson they never will forget" show the Iran's uranium affair going on in the South American Amazon's forests.

The man can be seen as a mind minded fool but behind him, governing him, there is the worst threat Western Civilization have suffered since mohammedan invasion to Spain. Only by defeating and expulsing mohammedans in 1492, Europeans were able to start ending the stupidity era (middle age).

The Only Perfect Human that ever lived :
The only Perfect Human that ever lived is Jesus. These are the end times. This is a very good thing. Jesus, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, His return is heavenly. Accept Him before it's too late. Praise Jesus!!!!!!

A mad dinner jacket
I think A mad dinner jacket looked so cute in his members-only attire. Mike Wallace seems to think that A mad dinner jacket is really a nice guy. And for that he should be ashamed since:

13-year-old schoolgirl Zhila Izadi was condemned to death by stoning in the town of Marivan Iran after giving birth to a child in prison.

A 16-year-old girl named Atefeh Rajabi publicly hanged by the Iranian regime in the town of Neka for her ‘sharp tongue’.

The Iranian regime sentenced a 16-year-old Afghani boy by the name of Feyz Mohammad to execution for alleged drug smuggling.

Iranian officials raped Canadian-Iranian journalist Zahra Kazemi before she died and put chemicals in her body to speed up its decomposition.

Actually its just cultural differences that cause us to misunderstand the darlings.

Remember we have James Earl Carter to thank for both the Iranian and Venezuelan regimes.

I do not believe
that The President can come right out and say the truth about what "The Religion of Peace" really is. The "sensitive" party would immediatly call for his head on a platter, and everyone knows it.
Of course it's a mad, mad, mad, world. And I am eternally grateful that I am not of it. I just happen to live here temporarily.
Cheers, Kathy-
Long live King Yeshua (Jesus)

messiahs
Most people, including many Christians and Muslims, don't really believe in the coming of either Messiah, and don't take Armageddon seriously. We'll just muddle through as always, right? ...

Flagwaver, CB
OK CB, I'll bite. What is the diference between Atheism and Secularism?

Flagwaver, its the usual wishful thinking of sheltered people living under representative governments. They don't want any part of the unpleasantness and hope by being neutral they can escape unharmed. People who recommend we follow this course can ask Belgium, Holland, Norway, Denmark etc how this worked in WWII. But of course lots of folks don't see this parallel. They refuse even to believe we are in a war yet.
