Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

WASHINGTON -- Last week I made the open-and-shut case for John McCain: In a dangerous world entering an era of uncontrolled nuclear proliferation, the choice between the most prepared foreign policy candidate in memory vs. a novice with zero experience and the wobbliest one-world instincts is not a close call.

But it's all about economics and kitchen-table issues, we are told. OK. Start with economics.

Neither candidate has particularly deep economic knowledge or finely honed economic instincts. Neither has any clear idea exactly what to do in the current financial meltdown. Hell, neither does anyone else, including the best economic minds in the world, from Henry Paulson to the head of the European Central Bank. Yet they have muddled through with some success.

Both McCain and Barack Obama have assembled fine economic teams that may differ on the details of their plans but have reasonable approaches to managing the crisis. So forget the hype. Neither candidate has an advantage on this issue.

On other domestic issues, McCain is just the kind of moderate conservative that the Washington/media establishment once loved -- the champion of myriad conservative heresies that made him a burr in the side of congressional Republicans and George W. Bush. But now that he is standing in the way of an audacity-of-hope Democratic restoration, erstwhile friends recoil from McCain on the pretense that he has suddenly become right wing.

Self-serving rubbish. McCain is who he always was. Generally speaking, he sees government as a Rooseveltian counterweight (Teddy with a touch of Franklin) to the various malefactors of wealth and power. He wants government to tackle large looming liabilities such as Social Security and Medicare. He wants to free up health insurance by beginning to sever its debilitating connection to employment -- a ruinous accident of history (arising from World War II wage and price controls) that increases the terror of job loss, inhibits labor mobility and saddles American industry with costs that are driving it (see: Detroit) into insolvency. And he supports lower corporate and marginal tax rates to encourage entrepreneurship and job creation.

An eclectic, moderate, generally centrist agenda in a guy almost congenitally given to bipartisanship.

Obama, on the other hand, talks less and less about bipartisanship, his calling card during his earlier messianic stage. He does not need to. If he wins, he will have large Democratic majorities in both houses. And unlike 1992, Obama is no Clinton centrist.

What will you get?

(1) Card check, meaning the abolition of the secret ballot in the certification of unions in the workplace. Large men will come to your house at night and ask you to sign a card supporting a union. You will sign.

(2) The so-called Fairness Doctrine -- a project of Nancy Pelosi and leading Democratic senators -- a Hugo Chavez-style travesty designed to abolish conservative talk radio.

(3) Judges who go beyond even the constitutional creativity we expect from Democratic appointees. Judges chosen according to Obama's publicly declared criterion: "empathy" for the "poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old" -- in a legal system historically predicated on the idea of justice entirely blind to one's station in life.

(4) An unprecedented expansion of government power. Yes, I know. It has already happened. A conservative government has already partially nationalized the mortgage industry, the insurance industry and nine of the largest U.S. banks.

This is all generally swallowed because everyone understands that the current crisis demands extraordinary measures. The difference is that conservatives are instinctively inclined to make such measures temporary. Whereas an Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Barney Frank administration will find irresistible the temptation to use the tools inherited -- $700 billion of largely uncontrolled spending -- as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to radically remake the American economy and social compact.

This is not socialism. This is not the end of the world. It would, however, be a decidedly leftward move on the order of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society. The alternative is a McCain administration with a moderate conservative presiding over a divided government and generally inclined to resist a European social-democratic model of economic and social regulation featuring, for example, wealth-distributing growth-killing marginal tax rates.

The national security choice in this election is no contest. The domestic policy choice is more equivocal because it is ideological. McCain is the quintessential center-right candidate. Yet the quintessential center-right country is poised to reject him. The hunger for anti-Republican catharsis and the blinding promise of Obamian hope are simply too strong. The reckoning comes in the morning.

Obama the empty resume
We know next to nothing about Obama except he normally votes "present" or he is all for killing unborn innocence(too bad his mother didn't agree and save us this terror).......thats some resume.

McCain the only choice

The best legal discussion I've seen

The best legal discussion I've seen regarding Obama's eligibility to be POTUS and the consequences if he is lying:

It's time to cut to the chase!

I am voting for John McCain. that's it! bottom Line!
I am sick to death of the purists who bemoan the death of Reagan. He was good. He's gone.

I am sick to death of posters like JMO51 and Wendy. They are dumber than a sack of hammers and I am sorry that they get to take advantage of this country's goodness.

I am sick to death of the idiots who are STILL on their high horse and will waste their vote on the likes of Bob Barr!

This election will decide the fate of this country .

Just do it! Let's roll! McCain/Palin Damnit!

Folks, this is a perfect example of someone who has been dumb-ed down by the public shool system to the point where he actually WANTS the government's Boot on his neck.

Is the country you want to give your children the country that First envisions?

We are standing at a fork in the road folks, we either continue moving forward, or we take the hard left that eventually leads to the Union Of Socialst States of America.

Personally I'm voting for the Old guy and Reagan in a skirt.

""Since Conservatives have ballooned the size of government by 60% since Bush took office, and have gone on an orgy of war spending, fiscal recklessness, and borrowing from Communist China,I would expect that McCain will do even more reckless spending""

Yes, you are partially correct, (doesn't happen often does it First?)
Spending did baloon under bush, but it's not because he was following Conservative principles. Get this straight, Bush is NOT a conservative. He's the cartoon image you have of a conservative. How did spending balloon?

Lets see, No Chld Left Behind.
A well meaning program that actually had a chance of working before bush let Teddy Kennedy cram it full of wasteful spending, perks for teachers who aren't teaching, and the usual democrat pork. This isn't conservative, this is a democrat program.

Medicare Part D

Another well meaning program, but at it's heart this is a democratic party monster that bush agreed to, in an effort to get a few li8berals tro not hate him.
(didn't work obviously)

So, yes spending has increased, because Bush was acting like a Democrat.

6)
""Didn't he approve the Bush tax-cuts for Billionaires and then call for the surge in Iraq that cost even more billions?
Get real. ""

Yes, billionaires got a tax cut, and Millionaires, and Thousandaires, and Hundredaires.

EVERYONE IN AMERICA GOT THAT TAX CUT YOU TWIT!

You forget that once bush's tax cuts took effect, the number of people in America who Pay No Income Tax went from 14% to 40%!!!!

Close to 1/2 the country Pays NO TAX.

Yep, it's just for the "RICH"

When was the last time you got a job from a Bag Lady dummy?

I'll finish with your own words.

Get real.

Yes, like most true believer lefties, you're all for "Free Speech" as long as you agree with that speech, Otherwise it's "Hate Speech" and must be silenced.
Sounds great there First, until some government goon decides that YOU are now spewing Hate Speech and it's your turn to be silenced.

And it WILL be your turn eventually.

"":Since the current ultra-conservative Supreme Court has ruled against the public interest and has become an activist tool for Corporate welfare and privelege, it needs to be flushed of those callous judges who are impediments to justice for real living human beings.""

You, know, if I didn't know better, I'd Swear this was a ham-handed attempt at satire. Sadly, I believe you're sincere. Activist judges gave us the Kelo decision that lets your town take your house and give it to developers. Are you so far down the communistic primrose path that you want to give up personal property too?

I'll quote a great man to clue you in.

"A communist is someone who has Read Marx and Lenin, An Anti-communist is someone who Understands Marx and Lenin"

I can tell you can read, you just haven't made it to Understanding yet.

I'll spell it out for you.

Wow! You've really been guzzling the Marxist kool-aid huh?
Chavez is such a great guy that he has declared himself President for Life, (to avoid future voter fraud) He is such a great guy he shut down every TV and radio station that said anything he didn't like. He is such a great guy, he's sending money to FARC terrorists in columbia to kill innocent people. He's such a great guy he simply LOVES the poor. He loves them so much, he's creating thousands of new Poor people daily.

Yeah he's just the most awesome terror-supporting, industry nationalizing, speech suppressing, drug dealing, free speech destroying dictator in years.

And I really mean that.

First in MA: Oceania props up Eurasia?
"We have Reagan to thank for loose nukes... [b]y destroying the Soviet Union, and leaving the scientists ... essentially stateless."

This is cartoonish. When the Soviet empire collapsed in 1991, Russia didn't just disappear. But *we're* responsible for their nuclear weapons?? Maybe you're right: maybe we should have just gone up to Yeltsin and said, "you've been defeated, now hand them over." Or maybe we should have propped Gorbachev up and prevented the USSR from collapsing in the first place. That way Oceania could always be at "war" with Eurasia, and the people would be safe under the MAD umbrella.

Nuclear proliferation was occurring even prior to the fall of the USSR. To suggest that the fault is ours is almost laughable.

"Should Iran build a nuclear bomb, we can expect improved stability and peace in the middle east."

A terrorist-supporting government that has threatened to wipe Israel off the map and whose leaders not only yearn for a messianic apocalypse, but who see as their primary responsibility the ushering in of the chaos prerequisite for the end-times, gets nuclear weapons, and that will "improve stability and peace" in the region. Do you think that Mutually Assured Destruction means anything to such people? Israel has nuclear weapons: will that deter the mullahs eager to recall their Twelfth Imam?

"Israel will be less likely to instigate war...." That's just offensive. Try to understand this: ISRAEL IS NOT THE AGGRESSOR. Unless, of course, you believe that Israel commits aggression merely by existing, in which case there is no arguing with you: nothing the IDF could do to deter terrorists or to hunt them down and punish them would fail to corroborate your charge. Are you one of those who thinks that it's "Peace" if the number of missiles fired into Israeli territory from Gaza falls below ten a day?

Please, show some sense.

White people have to ...
vote for Obama in big numbers in order for him to win.

I can understand Black americans want "their guy" to win - even though he is not really "their guy" - but I guess he is close enough. So the black vote is not goiong to change - Blacks will go for Obama.

But for Obama to lose a lot of white Americans seeking to shed their White Guilt have to wake up in time to realize that voting for Obama will do NOTHING to change slavery, or Jim Crow, or the 1960's, or segregation from the past.

If you are white, there is nothing wrong in voting for John McCain. He is a true American hero. He has suffered for our country.

Obama has not served this country in any way shape or form - being a POLITICIAN or a COMMUNITY ORGANIZER is NOT service to country.

There will be a time - maybe soon - when you can vote for a BLack American who is an AMERICAN - not this hybrid Obama who is a MusloChristian IndonesiaKenyan who has refused even to verify that he is a Natural Born Citizen of this country.

John McCain has verified his citizenbshiop, OIbama has not.

Why? The answer is obvious. He can't or he would have already done so.

As a white person, how can you vote in concert with so many prople that hate you for YOUR RACE and hate AMERICA. How can you do this to your country and to your family and to yourself?

Obama is a Socialist. He is an ANTI-AMERICAN RACIST. He could NOT have sat under Jeremiah Wright's ministry if he did not AGREE with his rants.

If Obama wins, it will be WHITE people who elect him.

Do your self a favor, put your WHITE GUILT on hold until November 5, 2008. Obama is not worthy of your Guilt VOTE, He has not suffered as a Black American. His history is one of privilege and middle class upbringing mixed in with a host of anti-American friends.

Vote for a man who loves this country and has served this country - John McCain.

Vote McCain/Palin 2008.

Do you want a "keeper" or a job?
Obama promises to be your "keeper"
McCain promises an increase in jobs.
Which do you want?

Jeffrey MA, Nov 1, 2008 - 11:52 AM EST

I hope you're right, but stranger things than avoiding the obvious have happened before.

Also be aware, that if Obama does lose his job as POTUS, we will then have clueless Joe Biden as POTUS.

Could be worse, but maybe not the best option.

COMING:THE CONSTITUTION v COMRADE BARACK
If, by some chance, a historic election upset doesn't happen on Tuesday (which I confidently predict WILL take place), and Comrade Barack Hussein Obama is the President-elect, please know that the truth abou his foreign birth WILL
come out shortly thereafter. When it does, America will purge the Kenyan-born Marxist from the White House. Hopefully, the truth will be known before January, so that the American people will not have to witness the oath of office being taken by a non-American.

My fellow citizens: Avoid this chilling scenario all together...just make sure that you, your relatives and friends get to the polls on Tuesday, and cast a vote for a true American hero, JOHN McCAIN!

Here Comes Higher Taxes
Am I the only one that gets this? I never hear McCain or Palin jump on this. Oblahma doesn't have to by lying to the American people when he says he will not raise taxes. All he and Reid/Pelosi have to do is nothing. They can sit by and let the Bush tax cuts expire, triggering one of the largest tax increases in history, and they will have never voted for a tax increase nor signed one into law. Then they will ride to the rescue with your $500 or $1,000 rebate chack and be the heroes "feeling your pain". And in the end the MSM will fid some way to spin it into Bush's fault or that of the GOP. It's a brilliant plan and it will finance all of BO's and the unchecked Congress' dreams of giveaways and social programs.

We need Almighty God to look out for this great nation once again.

Pay Attention Everyone
I don't know why I never hear about this from anyone especially McCain and Palin. Obama has not lied. He will not raise your taxes. What they will do this Obama...Reid..Pelosi...led government will allow the Bush Tax Cuts to expire, bringing forth the largest tax increase in history, without ever having to vote for it nor sign it into law. Then Oblahma will give 95 % of the people a meager tax cut in the form of those $500 and $1,000 checks to "relieve" our pain. Finally the MSM will find some way to blame it all on Bush and/or the GOP.

Hate blinds...
If Charles Krauthammer was John McCain's campaign manager, McCain might be holding a comfortalbe lead three days away from Election Day. Even so, considering the background of Obama and his long list of anti-American, anti-Israel, violence-prone associates, perhaps liberal Americans are so antagonistic toward their own American identity that they are subconsciously or overtly hoping to undermine the nation's democratic heritage. If so, it seems that they fail to realize that in the process of inspiring such an 'Extreme Makeover: Nation Edition,' our security may be compromised so completely that the shift toward socialism might turn out to be merely a brief transition to sharia.

Obama's Personal 'O' Security Force
Obama's Personal National Security Force

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set," he said. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."
Barack Obama Speech July 2, 2008 Colorado Springs CO
------------------------------------------------
Barack Obama said: 'civilian national security force'.

Civilian - Would MOT include military or other Law Enforcement agencies.
National - Would NOT recognize State Boundaries.
Security - Security for what?
Force - This word usually denotes power and authority.

Why does Barack Obama want a Civilian Security Force?
1) Just as powerful as the Military.
2) Just as strong as the Military.
3) Just as well funded as the Military.

What will Barack Obama have this 'Civilian National Security Force' do?

Help in hurricanes or other disasters? - we already have the state National guard.

Some have said 'The National Guard is in Iraq and Afghanistan' but Barack Obama plans to have them home less than halfway through the Obama administration.

If you think that 'Joe the Plumber' is unduly investigated now wait until the 'Big O' force is in place.

We will begin to hear about people like 'Joe the Plumber' disappearing.

Uncontrolled Nukes.
We have Ronald Reagan to thank for loose nukes and nuclear blueprints around the world that have found their way into in Pakistan, N. Korea, and Iran and who knows where else they'll turn up next.

By destroying the Soviet Union, and leaving the scientists and workers without adequate wages and essentially stateless, Reagan opened the door for the Black market weapons trade to commence. Technology, blue prints and perhaps weapons themselves were smuggled out of the USSR to the highest paid groups.Folks, this is Capitalism 101. As a result, we can expect nuclear proliferation to continue to grow around the globe.

The good news is that nuclear weapons have a 100% proven record of deterrance whe controlled by national governments. The 60 year history between the US and Russia (who have both retained a large arsenal of their nukes proves the point of peace trough MAD)

Should Iran build a nuclear bomb, we can expect improved stability and peace in the middle east.
Israel will be less likely to instigate war if there can be a nuclear retaliatory strike. Our nation will be less likely to attack Iran and waste more money and our military on imperial adventurism in areas where we don't rightly belong.
Nukes have been good for the USA in deterring an aggressive state attack on our nation. They can also be good useful at reducing/eliminating worldwide large scale war between sovereign states.

To Opa
Hi Opa,

Thanks for commenting.You said:
"Nader is an even more dyed-in-the-wool socialist than Obama, and in order to get a better pay check (Won't get it), you're going to vote for more government control? "

I wouldn't say that Obama is a socialist. He's a con-man whose similar to Bush and has largely embraced the Bush/Cheney plan of bailouts for Wall Street crooks and failing corporations NAFTA/WTO Predatory Captialism and continuing to fund the Iraq war to make Halliburton rich as our troops die in the sandbox war.

Nader's much smarter, more progressive and is against both and never went for the Iraq War either.

I will say that neither I nor most citizens pitted against any large corporation will ever get fair wages w/o union power. They will trample you like an ant and could care less whether you suffer. Corporations are in business to make money and will happily fire you and replace you with an illegal, or just ship your job overseas to a sweatshop in Communist China if they can't make you their slave.

Nader's great because he wants to cancel NAFTA/WTO raise the minimum wage to $10 an hour and throw the Wall Street criminals in jail.
You gotta love a man who goes after criminals and seeks justice for citizens. Folks like Obama and McCain are just part of the same team that talk a good show, but never change anything that would harm their corporate sponsers.

Another guy whose running and is great is Chuck Baldwin on the Constitution Party. He's not sold out to D.C. corruption either and like Nader has integrity.

Either one is better than the Obama or McSame.
Electing status quo parties to office only guarantees the same results. Look at their voting record for NAFTA/WTO, amnesty for illegals, resistance to raising the minimu wage, bailouts for corporate theives etc.

Tibor: love the Leader, or else.
"Where is the News Media?" They're right behind The One, patting him on the back and getting him another pillow.

The mere citizen lacks "standing" to question The One. Democrat Philip Berg sues to see the original birth certificate? Denied: no standing to sue. Joe the Plumber asks a question that gets Obama to confess that he's all about "redistributive change"? The media and Ohio officials dive into *Joe's* records as though any flaw in the questionner invalidates the question and erases the answer.

Obama's friend and ally Bill Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist who regrets not doing more and whose recent work involves indoctrinating schoolchildren using money from a board Obama chaired? Barry was only 8-years-old when Ayers attacked the United States, and Ayers is just a guy in Barry's neighborhood. Nothing to see here, especially not Ayers's book dedicated to Sirhan Sirhan (take THAT, Ted Kennedy).

Obama's friend Rashid Khalidi says despicable things about Jews while Obama laughs and applauds? Prove it, which you can't because the L.A.Times, purported to be a news organization, is sitting on the only evidence.

I used to say that we knew too little about Obama to elect him. Now I say we know too much about him to permit his rise to power (not authority: no, it's always about *power* with this type), but most of that isn't known beyond the confines of Fox News, talk radio, and a handful of still honorable print media.

Obama is wrong on *everything*. Many of the American people know it. Even more, many voting for the first time, just won't hear it, and many of those are just waiting for Barack to pay their mortgages and gas bills. The undecided are still there because they don't trust Obama but aren't yet persuaded by Sen. McCain.

If you know any of these in battleground states, help them to understand the danger Obama poses and ask them to vote for John McCain.

Communist Obama
I listened to this speach where he wants to implement CIVILIAN NATIONAL SECURITY FORCE JUST AS POWERFUL,STRONG & WELL FUNDED AS OUR MILITARY. Can you believe this?
Wouldn't this be called " GASTAPOS " I could not believe what he is saying!

Quotes: "I'm not a Marxist."

"I'm not a socialist."

Better think twice before voting?

Obama is Muslim
This guy scares me! Please remember this guy may not even be a natural born citizen. Everything we need to know about him is off limits. Where is the News Media??????
Are we in Russia, Vanezuella or what? We have the right to know about his record! I guess we will have to answer him at the poles. The LA Times wont release the tape. What are they hiding and why?
Vote McCAIN / PALIN 2008

Don't forget to vote. Very important!!!!

JMO51: Mississippi and Texas
Many in the family of "Mme. Martel" live in Mississippi, so I know that love for Barbour is neither complete nor universal. That said, they still wouldn't trade him.

And you might have heard of a little thing we had roll through here called "Ike". Nasty little bugger that proceeded north from here and then up the Ohio, leaving damage and darkness in its wake. The reason I mention it is that you can extend that area of FEMA-hostility a few hundred miles westward.

JMO51
Before I go for the night I have to say I was reading your posts and laughing at how utterly ridiculous they are. You truly believe this nonsense.
But when you said that healthcare is for the haves and not the have nots I have to step in and repeat to you PODS (invasion of the body snatchers ) I work for my healthcare!!!!! I am not a have!!Repeat to you moonies. I WORK FOR MY HEALTHCARE!!!!! No one handed it to me.I am not a have I am a hard working American whose employer offers me healthcare.

There are plenty of hardworking Americans who do not have healthcare who don't begrudge those who do but would like to get some answers and ideas on how to insure these people without destroying our quality of care.

And YES I don't believe my healthcare should be lowered to make it "even" with a welfare class who chooses not to lift themselves up.This is a land of opportunity so quit your its not fair crap and remember there are plenty of us out there who do have PRIDE in this country and don't fall for that hope and change crap!

obama couldn't organize a community so don't pontificate about that sleaze running a country.

Wendy in WA: good effort, too many notes
Anyone who thinks McCain is a "leftist" is either incorrigibly obtuse or a paid Obama troll.

I anticipate arguing with President McCain on several issues, but I don't harbor any illusion that it's because I'm in the center and he's on the Left. It's because he reaches across the aisle, and I wouldn't. Nancy Pelosi says that an enlarged Democrat majority in the House will be more bipartisan; and I'm this year's Rose Bowl Queen. Imagine Nine-Percent Nancy and Harry "This War Is Lost" Reid with enlarged majorities and a President Obama ready to sign everything that comes across his desk. (No? Name one thing they'd pass that he'd veto. Just one.)

On the other hand, if you're a paid troll, good for you. You found work. Your parents must be proud. Too bad it's temporary, but that Obama troll money is going to dry up next week, right after the Secret Service hustles him away from the angry rioters who won't want to hear the rest of his concession speech.

On the other hand -- yes, that makes three -- maybe you're a "malefactor of wealth and power". That's not out of the question: after all, somebody has to be, might as well be you. Say "hi" to Bill Gates for all of us here at Townhall, won't you?

UncleB
Socialism is what it is, not something subject to definition by majority vote.

Charles Martel
Blanco was a disaster. Barbour is a competent Governor. My only issue with Barbour is that after Katrina he played it a little fast and furious to make sure that all efforts went into fixing the Casinos while a lot of residents just had to wait for relief. That may have been a sound decision in light of the local economy but I have to tell you that it has made a lot of people on the Mississippi Gulf Coast very angry.

Just to repeat: Blanco was a total moron and has done a lot help Republicans gain power in the state.

That said FEMA failed both states. FEMA is a dirty word on the Gulf Coast from LA to Alabama.

MSARM
I will also concede the point that the timing was right for Clinton. He does in my opinion deserve credit for Welfare Reform. He was talking about it before he got elected.

Because I know you would give me an honest answer I want to run an idea by you. I think at this point Palin has turned from an asset to a liability. I don't know if she is smart or not I do know she is not ready. So here is my question would McCain be ahead today of he had picked Elizabeth Dole as a running mate rather than Palin. Dole has a good conservative pedegree, and no one would have suggested that she was inexperienced. Plus she might have done a better job picking of Clinton Voters.

Of course I would like to hear from anyone else who wishes to speculate on this choice.

Mr. Krauthammer
"An eclectic, moderate, generally centrist agenda in a guy almost congenitally given to bipartisanship."

And that is why we despise him.
-----------------
"...he sees government as a Rooseveltian counterweight (Teddy with a touch of Franklin) to the various malefactors of wealth and power."

Again, that is why we despise him.
--------------------
"This is all generally swallowed because everyone understands that the current crisis demands extraordinary measures."

Really? Who exactly is "everyone?" What kind of "extraordinary measures" does it "demand?" Evidence?
--------------------
"The difference is that conservatives are instinctively inclined to make such measures temporary."

Completely aside from the fact that we want someone who acts on reasoned ideology and not instinct, the question must be asked: How will he do so? You just said that he is an eclectic, moderate centrist who sees government as a counterweight to the malefactors of wealth and power [sic]. That means his instincts tell him to expand government--at our expense.

Having trouble keeping your lies straight, Mr. Krauthammer? I can see why you would. The line between truth and lie is a thin red one when you are trying to pass a leftist off as a conservative.

MSARM
I will concede the point that Clinton underestimated the threat Clinton was not perfect.

Doug and Donald
Doug, do you support any of those children? If so remind them who pays their welfare checks.

Donald, because of obama's admitted cocaine use and association with the founder of a terrorist group that killed three police officers obama could not get past a background check with the secret service!! He couldn't be hired by the very group that will protect him IF he wins!!!

Think about that !

Castro was a lawyer promising hope and change. Sound familiar!

Bottom line
It's not over until the real votes are counted. We can spin polls both way until we're blue in the face. The only accurate poll I've noticed is that over 80% those who are part of the institutional mainstream media hold views that range anywhere from liberal to far left socialist. The media bias has an odor worse than a skunk, a decomposing body after death, and a dead rat freshly barfed out by the snake that ate it combined.

Anyone who can't smell that over so many months must have the most stuffed up nose from a cold or flu; or is in pathological denial like a Nazi denying the Holocaust.

Don't buy into this media nonsense that's spinning an Obama victory before everyone voted. Obama's aura is a media creation. Otherwise Barack Hussein Obama's a stuffed suit totally unqualified to execute the duties of President of the United States.

Hey First
I just read your post.

Hey Hugo Chavez's buddy, coward billy ayers, wrote a book a while back and dedicated said book to Sirhan-Sirhan. I am assuming you know who that is but I might be assuming too much. You may equate this person with singer lisa-lisa but I will assume.

Anyway Ted Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg have endorsed obama even though this guy launched his political career in Coward's living room among many playdates with Coward.

HHMMMMM...Now go figure. I thought blood was thicker than water... but not politics, power and corruption and greed.

Check out the picture of Coward in his yuppie dress standing on the American flag on the ground. And wh@re bernadette dorhn praising the Manson family for butchering 8 months pregnant Sharon Tate and the LaBiancas."Dig it man, they killed the pigs". Oh thats right, you libs don't care about the unborn. I forgot.

You libs are Chumps. How do you get this way.Go to Venezuela and live with chavez. we'll see how long it takes to wake you up. If you don't disappear.

Ted and Caroline endorsing the friend of a man who dedicated his book to the murderer of their brother and uncle. What a group. The devil is alive and well.

Good feedback. Let's see what happens during the weekend. It seems to me the folks are trending toward McCain-Palin, and I'm all for that.

I've already voted, early, as I guess many people have this election year.

Have a good one.

One more thought
I wonder if the poor, depressed families in utter despair who can't make it in this life without jesus obama, will have their backgrounds and persanal lives ripped apart by obama pit bulls in the media? Just like Joe.

I wonder how much the McCain "campaign worker"will be paid by obama's camp for her stunt?

Media
I have never believed the media and their "polls'.

Please get out and vote and don't believe this do nothing has the election wrapped up. That is exactly what they want you to believe. That your vote does not count.

I live in very liberal Austin and I voted on Oct. 21 and there were MANY conservatives in line along with alot of people we know who will vote on Nov. 4.

DO NOT believe this is in the bag for the scumbag obama!!!

sarahjane
So I guess obama is the honorable slime merchant and you are a fool.

Charles Martel
I have noticed the same in Austin. Super, super liberal but not nearly as many obama signs as kerry-edwards.

Who knows. We do have lots of cemetaries with dead people and lots of twelve year olds. And lots of illegals with drivers licenses.

The Spanish language stations blast the praises of obama.I work with a woman who can't identify him in a picture in the Austin Un-American Statesman but she wants to vote for him because 98.9 tells her to. Just like Howard Stern's sidekick Sal going to Harlem to ask about obama.
Check out hs_sal_in_Harlem_100108.mp3(2228KB)

I love the woman who says McCain is uneducated.
Yep, this one makes you proud to be an American and doing your Patriotic duty to support more babies by her and whatever convicted felon she can reproduce with.

I like this definition:
"At the core of modern liberalism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats." - P.J. O'Rourke

Lesser of two evils
Since Reagan we have had to suffer with the lesser of two evils! Wrong! Regan was the lesser of two evils. He wasn't perfect either. The whole philosophy of our founding fathers was that government was a necessary evil. The best we can hope for is that it does ok on the things it must do and leaves the rest pretty much alone. To expect it to do a really good job (superhuman?) at something is crazy. I hope McCain understands his limitations; pretty much, Obama thinks he's a God.

McCain/Palin08

Makes no sense. Why the surprise?
When you create the conditions under which the ability to think is taken out of the requirements for education the results are blindingly clear.

American's simply do not have the tool kit anymore to think past their next paycheck.

They believe that everyone can own a house regardless of their ability to pay for it. The predictable result, people who can't pay default on their loans. It doesn't matter if the government made those loans risk free for the lenders by forcing them to give the loans in the first place, the result was entirely predictable by anyone not afflicted with the inability to think.

They believe that someone else is going to give them money they do not have to earn. Maybe once, but the guys who have to pay will pick up their money and move it somewhere else that won't confiscate it.

If you can't think, you can't see the inevitable result of the flight of capital.

If you can't think, you don't know that when capital goes elsewhere, the place it goes gains from the investment that is made with that capital.

No investment simply results in no new jobs. Anyone who can think can predict this result.

So now we have a public that because it can't think can only believe. It believes in whatever comfortable lie that sounds good to it. It votes accordingly.

The only hope for America at this point is that older and wiser Americans who do still have the ability to think and use that ability to try to predict the future will vote for McCain and stop the disaster that is coming from those who simply can no longer think for themselves.

Cheers,

Bloefeld

Obama Exhibited his Leadership
While in the Illinois Senate Barack Obama exhibited the type of leadership he will use should he become POTUS.

When faced with the BAIPA (Born Alive Infant Protection Act) which Barack Obama virulently opposed.

Barack Obama decided - NOT on immediate action to present medical aid to those babies dying in excruciating pain and then work out his political differences.

Barack Obama decided - To let the babies die in excruciating pain until others would agree with his political objections and ONLY then would he try to give medical aid to the babies.

Barack Obama will use that same judgment and leadership when you need help in his 'Sacrifice for the Common Good' health insurance.

I understand that the moose have issues with Gov. Palin, but fortunately aren't registered. (Or are they? he asked squinting suspiciously.)

Texas?? Texas has been carried by every Republican presidential candidate since Reagan first ran and hasn't elected a Democrat to statewide office since Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock was re-elected in 1994. We're a total lock.

I live in a very "blue" area though -- Democrats in the state House and Senate, and Sheila Jackson-Lee in the US House (she never answers my letters) -- but what's striking this year is the relative scarcity of Obama signs. Sure, there are a few out, but not the overwhelming number one would expect from a famously Democrat neighborhood.

The Reckoning
Ah, yes, the reckoning.

That's when you skipped class all semester, and the exam is tomorrow. That's when you drank all evening, and you can't make it to work - and you've been warned. That's when you run up your credit cards to the point where you need to call Mom and Dad to help out.

The real reckoning comes when we've been bled from a thousand cuts, expertly placed.

Like the weapons systems that aren't developed, the ones that save our soldiers' and sailors' and airmen's lives; the ones that kill more of the enemy and save more of ours.

Like the reckoning that comes where all capital flees - no capital, no capitalism.

Like the reckoning when the healthcare system goes bankrupt, because doctors and nurses don't (nor can't, nor should they) work for free.

Like the reckoning that comes when "fairness" and "righting past wrongs" trumps rationality and civility, and we start to look...like Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Reckon that looks like a disaster.

I'm in the 1st District, radical country. 2nd District shares their turf with the moose, so I'm not certain how they'll vote. 2nd is probably far more conservative than the 1st and maybe will win a vote for McCain. The Palins visit here was very helpful.

How's Texas looking?

Why settle for my capital gains? Obama could just take inspiration from the recent measure enacted in Argentina and nationalize all private pension plans.

Triumph of the Drones
Linda of MO. related this anecdote that's hitting the airwaves today:
A woman said after attending an Obama rally, "this is the happiest day of my life, Life will never be the same, I won't have to pay my rent, utilities or gas, I help him (Obama) and he's going to help me."

Now I understand--We are about to be afflicted with a President O because the drones outnumber the rest of us!
Linda--Let's hope Missouri stays "Red"!

Charles, thanks for your thoughts. I guess I'm getting weary of all of the B.S.

I am cheered by all of the folks here in Maine (Demo stronghold) that seem to be voting for McCain-Palin. Dumbfounded, but cheered.

Maybe this will be a good election after all.

Thomas Paine Lives

We referenced Thomas Paine in an earlier post. here he is again on YouTube: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pKFKGrmsBDk

Have fun with this one.

First in MA: on Ron Paul, etc.
Ron Paul does not have a Democrat opponent in the general election for his House seat, but I think a measure of discontent might be the write-in vote. Galvestonians have long embraced his "Dr. No" persona, but when he voted against a bill that included aid for his Hurricane-Ike-devastated district, a lot of people were irked.

As for the presidential race, I don't know about Massachusetts, but my polling place (I early-voted last week) had him listed as an independent write-in candidate. (Only the R's, D's, and L's were on the ballot here: everybody else was on a rather long list of write-ins.)

I'm fed up with enriching the Sand Nazis too, and that's why I favor McCain's policy of drilling here and now, with the Palin corollary of opening ANWR. It's not the only answer, but we're fooling ourselves if we think it's not part of the answer, if for no other reason than it buys us time and exerts downward pressure on the market.

A practical hedge against high energy prices is to buy stock in energy companies, even if only with one's retirement proceeds.

I would expect gasoline to be cheap in Venezuela. Crude production is plentiful, they have their own refineries, and they don't have to ship the product very far at all. But 12 cents/gallon? That represents a choice by the Venezuelan government to forego the revenue to PDVSA -- a reasonable choice as it affects their own people. But doing the same for Cuba does the still poor people of Venezuela no favors; neither does Chavez's pointless military budget.

Nader is an even more dyed-in-the-wool socialist than Obama, and in order to get a better pay check (Won't get it), you're going to vote for more government control?

SunThe1

Just wondering. What time on Tuesday do you think MSNBC will delcare Obama the next President. About 8 a.m.?

I figure Olbermann will come on about then and tell the world Obama is the winner. Why wait for all that voting stuff? He might figure he can keep some McCain voters away from the polls if they think the election is already over.

Think he would pull a trick like that?

I'd be shocked he wouldn't!

To Charles Martel
Charles,

Thanks for commenting. Reid and Pelosi are an abomination-as is Obama. But, more importantly, a living wage is important to me so I can pay my bills, and support my family, avoid bankruptcy and foreclosure and not take welfare.

Thanks to the Bush/Cheney corp. free trade, I now earn 40% less than I did 10 years ago under Clinton AND life is more expensive for me: gas, food, healthcare, insurance. Everything really. We are definately not going in the right direction under Bush.

No I'm definately not voting for Obama....he's essentially a McClone/Bush. Candidates Chuck Baldwin and Ralph Nader are the best of the bunch. Ron Paul (a good fellow Texan as you know) is great and also has integrity. Unfortunately he dropped out of the race too early.

I'm convinced that returning the same old parties (Democrat or Republican) for more broken promises is not the way forward.

To get to your other point about Chavez-after he nationalized the oil industry-the price of gas fell because there wasn't overly inflated profit. Now you can fill up for 12 cents a gallon in Venezuala according to the WSJ.com

That's a cost saving policy that would work for me and my family instead of being gouged at the pump everytime. I'd rather spend my money on things that count rather than enriching arab sheiks. Its just commonsense. Under Bush/McCain, I've been gouged while Exxon/Mobil has made record profits every quarter.
Time for a big change.

_Heres a little insight into the kind of tax structure we Chicagoans have had to deal with under Barack Obamas Leadership; AND SO WILL YOU……….

“In 2003, Sen. Obama voted to raise the sales taxes on consumers by $59 million dollars, reinstate the state death tax that would have given grieving families a $45 million bill for new taxes, and force family farmers to shoulder $74 million in new higher taxes.

“He didn’t stop there. Sen. Obama also sought to tax life insurance so many families rely on in Illinois in an attempt to raise $9 million for the state. Not even bankruptcy cases were sacred, as he hoped to get an additional $4 million by taxing them at a time when people and small businesses need the most possible help. Sen. Obama wanted to go so far as to strip the rights of business owners to appeal unfair property tax valuations.

“By encouraging such anti-business tax policies in Chicago and Illinois while serving in the state legislature, Sen. Obama made neighboring cities and states more attractive to employers and employees who could benefit from higher wages."

To JMO51, re your Katrina post...
people who live in hurricane country know that the Governor of Louisiana and Mayor of New Orleans did not do THEIR parts and blamed Bush for everything, to cover up their own neglect and ineptness.

Well, Obama doesn't even know what the duties of mayors and governors are, he proved that with his laughable criticism of Palin, so why should we assume his supporters do? This is pathetic.

Obama makes me dizzy...
A woman said after attending an Obama rally,"this is the happiest day of my life, Life will never be the same, I won't have to pay my rent, utilities or gas, I help him (Obama) and he's going to help me."

Wow, that says it all. He's going to be everybodies sugar daddy, well, unless, you are not middle class and make over $300,000, $250,000, $200,000, $150,000 and the latest figure by Bill Richards- $120,000. And how many states are there? He also said he's going to make the U.S. "and the world" a better place, cumbiya. Thank you Messiah Obama

Obama could have as many houses as McCain. He sounds a little jealous. He could have used that almost million dollars he gave to an Acorn affiliate to get out "his vote" It's all about making the right choices.

First in MA: well, at least you're in MA
If your employer is a total jerk, by all means vote for the union. But is it not enough that you vote for the union, that you have to use the threat of violence to get your fellow employees to do so too? Or is your employer a total jerk just to you? The secret ballot is the American way. A thug with a card for you to sign is the Venezuelan way, but then you like that, no?

The so-called "democratic" election of Hugo Chavez underscores the importance of loyalty to the written word of a constitution. In a country without constitutional restraints on the power of government, if you elect a democrat, you get a president; if you elect a communist, you get a dictator. Are you aware of how the people of Venezuela are suffering due to Chavez's stunts? Crude production is barely 75% what it was before his regime, and he's selling it at reduced prices to Castro's Cuba and Joe Kennedy's Citizens Oil Corp. What about his own people's well-being? Not as important as Chavez's ability to strut and play the world leader.

Speaking of Kennedy... How do you feel about your man Obama's friend and ally William Ayers having dedicated his book "Prairie Fire" to Robert Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan? I can only imagine the blow to the gut that members of the Kennedy clan must have felt upon learning that.

And speaking of constitutions, I see you care nothing for ours, for the First Amendment (you would muzzle those you disagree with) or the prohibition on Bills of Attainder (you favor Obama's call for "redistributive change", i.e., penalizing one class to transfer their assets to another).

And if you think John McCain doesn't know where he'll be keeping his veto pen and will blithely allow Pelosi and Reid to further bloat the size of our government, then you haven't been listening to a word McCain has ever said. But of course you haven't: your mind is closed.

Wake up. Or stay in Massachusetts. Either is fine with me.

I am glad that Charles gets it
unlike George Will and Kathleen Parker, who are traitors to the GOP and conservative movement. An Obambi presidency would be dangerous. Very dangerous. I am sure that Parker and Peggy Noonan, that old dowager, will look great in their burkas!

McCain - 0 earmarks
Obama has taken earmarks that are equivilent to 2 MILLION dollars for every day in the Senate. That's just what he got, plus a request of some 500 MILLION more. In all his years, in the Senate, McCain has never taken a dime. You have to be a total moron to not know which one would control spending!

Houses aren't the topic, trolls, but
since you brought it up, McCain houses his aunt and cares for his family. Obama's aunt lives in public housing in a bad area of Boston and his brother lives in a hut on $1 a month, while attending school and helping his own family in Kenya, and never asks for a thing. I'd rather vote for Obama's brother than Barack the Fraud. He is only his "brother's keeper" with OUR money, he hardly gives to charity with his own and neither does Biden. Get real, people.

And as far as I'm concerned, if a former POW owned 100 houses, he earned it. Don't forget who helped Obama get his, Tony Rezko, which Obama gave him tax money and political favors in return for. He denies it, of course... but it's on the record.

Now, stick to the subject please, and quit forcing us to respond to your relentless attempts to avoid debate on the real issues with facts, while crying that *we* won't discuss the issues. ::eyes rolling::

Someone recently wrote that obama is a deliberately blank slate upon which his followers can write their own desires. That's what I have noticed about them. They wax eloquent about things he will do (in this case has done), without a shred of evidence for it.
He is a fignment of his followers' imaginations.

You sold me with your 4 points
Thanks Charles,

You sold me on your 4 points.
1:I defintely want greater union power for all workers in the workplace. Especially WalMart which pays so low that its workers have to go on Welfare. WalmartWatch.com
Looking at the obscene and inflated salaries of CEO's and their use of pension default strategies to cheat the American Worker and his family, I definately don't want more of the same McCain.
2:Democratically-elected Hugo Chanvez is a great guy! Thanks to his generosity through CITGO, low-income Americans in the Northeast get free heating oil to stay warm in the Winter. Thanks Chavez! You care more about Americans than our own government. President Bush promised to increase the aid program but renegged on his promises. The Fairness Doctrine would be an antibiotic to the dark Republican radio culture of Limbaugh lies.
3:Since the current ultra-conservative Supreme Court has ruled against the public interest and has become an activist tool for Corporate welfare and privelege, it needs to be flushed of those callous judges who are impediments to justice for real living human beings.McCain would keep everything the same.
4:Since Conservatives have ballooned the size of government by 60% since Bush took office, and have gone on an orgy of war spending, fiscal recklessness, and borrowing from Communist China,I would expect that McCain will do even more reckless spending.Didn't he approve the Bush tax-cuts for Billionaires and then call for the surge in Iraq that cost even more billions?
Get real.

RE:The Rise of the American Fraud
Doug,

I feel your pain. I too have voting age children. They too are caught under the Obama fraud, masquerading as experience.

Can't blame yourself or them too much though. When colleges actually hire guys like Bill Ayers and Ward Churchill, you have to wonder what they are thinking. I would say any alums out there should voice your opinion ie. tell administration to dump those losers or no more money. Our kids are indoctrinated by these baboons under the guise of education. We sent them there. We should make sure its safe, by getting rid of these loons.

The media portrays anyone in the administration as stupid or on the take. Even main stream comedy shows only take shots at McCain, and never touch the sacred black cow. Of course, you can't. He hides behind his race. His party calls anyone a racist for questioning anything he has ever done or not done. They play the race card all day long, but accuse the McCain campaign of dirty politics. These people are the lowest of the low. They have zero integrity. And, they have the perfect leader for their example, in Obama.

Your kids will learn the results of their choice: logical consequences of behavior. Mine will learn too, when they get laid off. Unfortunately, the rest of us will suffer their foolish childish choices.

Next time they might learn that a book with a shiny cover and blank pages is just that.

MCCAIN TO OWN ELECTION DAY
Excerpt from Barack Obama, the Spirit of the Age and His Coming Defeat on Election Day.

"Forget about signs and cycles, omens and portents; forget for a moment my belief in God and destiny and my conservative and McCainian mysticism. Let’s put all that aside for now and look at this race rationally and historically. There is a simple explanation why John McCain, the great survivor and the only true reformer in this race, will beat the odds and prevail on Tuesday: we are a nation at war in economic distress in an increasingly dangerous world. It is really that simple: the domestic and global conditions don’t exist for the expected, heralded, historic Obama victory. Let me explain:

If this were 1964 when the nation was prospering and barely at war in Vietnam; or if it were 1976 after Watergate, Nixon’s resignation and the war; or if it were 1992 after the Soviet Union had disappeared from history leaving America the only superpower, Barack Obama would likely be our next President....."

Click ApolloSpeaks and read my nonmystical piece: "Barack Obama, the Spirit of the Age and His Coming Defeat on Election Day" for the reasons why John McCain will rule Election Day

JMO51: academic record? how do you know?
"Obama on the other hand has a first rate academic record"

Really?? How do you know? He won't release any of his records from Occidental, Columbia, or Harvard. He was the affirmative action candidate for editor of the Harvard Law Review.

And which terrorist-supporting Mohammedan got him into these colleges? We're still waiting for that too.

Obama's sympathy for our country's enemies make him completely unacceptable as president. Not undesirable: UNACCEPTABLE. If he is elected, they win. Ask them. He is the only candidate endorsed by Hamas, by Hezbollah, by the Iranian mullahs and their parliament. He is beloved by people the world over who hate our country. Not just George Bush: our country.

(Take for example, the people of Iraq, people whose very lives depend on our continued help: they support McCain.)

What Obama will not give our enemies outright they will take while we are busy fighting that second civil war that his people keep threatening us with.

.....Please stop telling those clowns in NY how good we have it down here in Texas ...they might get a brief flash of intelligence and decide to move here ...

.....Those are the same idiots that built a Nuclear Power plant and then refused to use it ...that Chuck-U Schumer put the kabosh on a LPG storage facility ...that Bobby Kennedy Jr praised Hugo Chavez for supplying heating oil to NY residents ...I guess they would rather accept charity from a third world dictator than be energy independent ...

.....Now their Governor has his tin cup out begging for Federal Dollars to bail out those losers .....let them stew in their own putrescence .....stupidity deserves to be its own reward .....COLOSSUS
