Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

On more than one occasion, I have asked myself how it is that in a country where twice as many people call themselves conservatives, liberals are able to control the media, the schools, the courts and are able to put a radical leftist like Barack Obama in the White House. I have come up with two possibilities. The first is that most of the 38% who identified themselves as moderates and independents in a recent poll are big fat liars; in fact, they are actually left-wingers, but dislike being pigeonholed even if they wouldn’t be caught dead voting for a Republican.

The other possibility is that those on the left have made one of those sinister deals with Satan, in which they swap their eternal souls for power and influence. Of course there’s always the possibility that it’s not a case of either/or, but a combination of both. Another reason that liberals have so much power is that people on the right live more balanced lives that include work, family, hobbies, charity and religion, whereas for those on the left, their political agenda trumps everything else in life.

In the recent past, we have had two glaring examples of judicial ineptitude. I have to assume that both judges are left-wingers. In the better-known case, an Oklahoma judge, Thomas Bartheld, gave a serial child predator, David Earls, a 12-month sentence after he pleaded guilty to raping a four-year-old girl. Thanks to Bill O’Reilly’s efforts, it appears that the folks in Oklahoma are making sure that Judge Bartheld doesn’t spend another 12 months on the bench.

In the meantime, in a case involving three young people who beat and kicked a Seattle policeman so severely as to cause brain damage, Judge Chris Washington determined that the proper punishment for the 17 and 18-year-olds was 30 days in juvenile lockup for the two males and 75 hours of community service for the female thug.

One can’t help wondering how it is that people born to be social workers ever wind up wearing black robes. While it’s still only a rumor, I’ve heard that Bartheld and Washington are on Barack Obama’s short list for the next opening on the Supreme Court.

To prove that I’m not a total partisan when it comes to politicians, I’d like to take this opportunity to take Republican Senator John Ensign and Governor Mark Sanford out behind the woodshed for a good paddling. In case you haven’t heard, Ensign and Sanford are the latest politicians to be caught with their pants down. The fact that adultery seems to be as commonplace in politics as it is in show business shouldn’t shock me, but it does. The reason why I find it so surprising is because when actors, singers and TV personalities get found out, it costs them a great deal of money, as Mel Gibson recently discovered, but it doesn’t hurt their career. However, when the sexual escapades of politicians are uncovered, as Wilbur Mills, Gary Hart, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Gary Condit, Eliot Spitzer and now Ensign and Sanford, come to find out, it’s “hasta la vista, baby” time.

I’m not suggesting it’s right that their careers should end up in the junkyard, even though I tend to regard politicians as second-rate human beings, who, so far as I can see, are as interchangeable as geese. Still, I generally feel that the appropriate punishment is doled out by the wife and her divorce attorney. While I am morally opposed to adultery, my general attitude is one of relief. It’s nice to know that for once, these creeps are screwing someone besides the American taxpayer.

Still, isn’t it curious that politicians, knowing that roughly 50% of the people would like to see them crash and burn simply because of their party affiliation, would place themselves in such jeopardy? But then, I’m also amazed time and again when people like Bernie Cornfeld, Robert Vesco and Bernard Madoff, manage to gyp so many people out of so much money. Am I really the only person in America who actually believes that if a deal sounds too good to be true, the proper response is to grab your wallet and run for your life?

In conclusion, I’d like to quote from an e-mail I recently received from a reader named J. Pyle. In response to a piece I had written ridiculing the state of higher education, he wrote: “I remember when ‘Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Studies’ meant trying to figure out what’s wrong with those people. In fact, if your child is majoring in something that ends in ‘Studies,’ you better not turn their bedroom into a den, because that one is coming home after college.”

To which I would only add, that’s assuming you still own your home after taking out a second mortgage so your kid can waste four years studying how to be black, Hispanic, bisexual or lesbian.

Liberals think better when intoxicated...

No, they think less.

Which is better :-)

I read recently...
... about some academic who did research showing that politicians have many character traits in common with serial killers. Finally something out of academe which rings true!

Standards
It's easy to live up to your standards when you don't have any.

pb... Correct!

Psychopaths are self-centered as a rule. As are many politicians.

One strangles Women, the other strangles Taxpayers.

A good Christian conservative?
When Clinton could not keep his business in his pants, Good Christian Conservatives wanted to have him impeached. They appear to want to take their own to the outhouse for a paddling. Is this a double standard?

Having corrected Burt on liberals and Ted Kennedy, the responsibility for judging senators lies with the electorate of their respective states, not with collective liberals or conservatives.

As for the first two cases, I don't know of too many people of any political persuasion who would say the judges were operating on all eight cylinders.

The Writer Stops By
Bleeding Heart: No double standard for conservatives. We wanted Clinton impeached because he committed perjury, not because of Lewinsky. The fact of the matter is that conservatives who get caught up in scandals lose elections; liberals go on their merry way in the manner of Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Charley Rangel and former KKKer Robert Byrd, accumulating seniority and influence.

Furthermore, the responsibility of voting for or against senators lies with the electorate of their respective states. But as for judging them, we are all free to take part. And why wouldn't we when no matter where we live, the decisions of these bozos, whether they're elected in California, Massachusetts, New York or Minnesota, affect all of our lives.

Always happy to set you straight, Bleeding Heart. Amazing, though, how often it's required.

Burt Prelutsky

Sex scandals
I do find it amazing that in today's world of cameras, recording devices, emails, etc., etc., where NO secrets can be kept for long and their sexual affairs WILL come out that politicians continue to delude themselves that they will be unique and get away with it. Their selfishness & arrogance really comes out because nothing matters but THEM - not their wives & families or their constituencies, etc. Foley absolutely impacted the national election & for all sorts of reasons I hold him in contempt. I just wish some really scary Dutch uncle could get them (everyone in an affair or considering one) all in a locked room and say, "Look. No judgment here. But if you've got , er, infidelity issues, just back out. You've got those personal, family issues to deal with, health challenges, or whatever, but get the h--l out of public office BEFORE you impact all the rest of the party. In this day where every office & every vote counts so much, any Republican politician who persists with the affair is demonstrating his total lack of concern for the country. And for Pete's sake, if you do get caught, just fess up then shut up and get out of the limelight. We don't want to hear slobbering talk about "real love affairs," etc. (Sandford, I'm talking to you.)

How Liberals Indoctrinate
It's true that liberals have taken over the school systems, media, and other influential institutions. They have also defined suitable discourse, which ostensibly doesn't include any conservative principles or opinions.

I blogged about the liberal indoctrination process at my blog.

http://onestdv.blogspot.com/2009/06/we-are-world-we-are-chi ldren.html

At my blog (http://onestdv.blogspot.com/) I regularly cover, the ideology underpinning modern liberalism. Further, I discuss, from a conservative standpoint, affirmative action, diversity programs, and other race issues at my blog. For a reference, it's similar to Steve Sailer and HalfSigma.

Liberals/conservatives

I think you have three classes of unreachable people -

1. The power hungry - politicians, the internationalist corporates and the little guys like teachers who think they have the moral leadership.

2. Young, indoctrinated college kids, green people, idealists who haven't grown up and don't live in the real world.

3. The uneducated & race huggers. Those who think the country owes them a living for free. They don't understand responability - only "rights" or better, wants. Thhose who vote for a color instead of for reason.

These people are pretty hard to reach. They don't live on the same plain normal people do. The only thing you can do is try to nibble at the edges by broadcasting the results of their folly. If they think they can't get a car filled with gas, they'll lose interest.

The trouble with that is the media - those people are particularly gullibe and if the media is bent, it is almost impossible to reach them.

Probably the best we can do is make enough noise so that the media is embarrassed to show their stupidity. Most of the have a lot of pride if not brains.

Burt - another homerun!!
My favorite line in your article - "It’s nice to know that for once, these creeps are screwing someone besides the American taxpayer." That one made me LOL.

Your response to Bleeding Heart is priceless - not sure he/she will get it - but it's priceless.

Thanks as always.

Burt

I, too, laughed at your response to BHL - and it looks like you could apply similar sentiments to MellorSJ2, one of our resident "Queens".

"Senator" Boxer made it very clear...

When Brig. Gen. Walsh, while testifying before Congress a week or so ago, and started to answer one of Boxer's questions with "ma'am," Boxer interrupted...

"You know, do me a favor. Could say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am? ... It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, yes, thank you."

Obviously, the title "Senator" and the associated "power" is what's important to too many of our politicians.

And, whether or not "Ms. Boxer" realizes it, she actually does WORK FOR Brig. Gen. Walsh, just as ALL POLITICIANS WORK FOR the American People!

Primus54 - a "Reactionary"... I LOVE it!

:-)

Burt
Another great column.

The thing that occurs to me this morning is making people 'pay' for infidelity is an easy target ("everyone does it" and "its just about sex") and it gives the Congress an aura of 'doing the moral thing' when in face they are all prostituting themselves for the next Perk, the Next Campaign Donation, the Next Pork Project, and the Next Election.

They have no compunction about not only 'screwing the taxpayer' but breaking laws and their oaths of office to do so. THAT's the REAL immorality in Washington.

They all should be out on their ears...or hung from the rafters. At this point, I'd be happy with either one.

Burt,
you missed a third possibility in your list of reasons why a minority is running the country at this point which is that alot of Americans are just bone deep stupid.

Old Hal convinced me that "Reactionary" was a compliment - not a pejorative.

I therefore adopted the label and duly thanked him...

;-)

Lib reaction is typical
When Burt took bleeding heart to the woodshed with reasoned responses the next lib (mellor) quickly gears up the ad hominem attacks.

minority of liberals
is what I should have included in my post-just want to make it clear since whenever a progressive hears or reads the word minority, he immediately assumes it refers to African Americans.

Heres why....

Yes there are twice as many Conservatives than Liberals.

Yes elections are determined by the Independants.

So why do conservatives loose elections with and overwhelming majority?

Simple. Bad Candidates. You can be right all you want but if you don't articulate why you are right you will still loose the debate.

Unlike Liberals, Independants can be open minded and open to new thoughts.

What Conservatives find "self evident" may be lost on Independants because the Liberal's education system has not educated them to understand the consequences of the loss political and economic freedoms.

Instead they have been fed a steady diet of social responsibility, social awareness without any regard to the social responsibity to support and defend personal freedoms and responsibility.

To be a Liberal does not require a lot of deep thought. You just have to be told there is a need and the government has the solution. Phrases like "The richest country in the world
should not having people living in cardboard boxes.", works for you.

To be a Conservative requires a lot of thought. You have to recognize the need and determine the cause. Depending upon the cause will determine the solution if any. The solutions must be confined to the framework of the Constitution. Liberals have no such restrant.

Conservatives running for office need to understand that their audience is composed of 3 basic separate groups. 1.Liberals who are clueless and can not normally be educated. 2. Conservatives who are suspicious of government solutions, and independants who are easily influenced if you articulate how your views are the correct and will benefit everyone on the long run.

Burt...the left are more organized and
vociferous. They are experts in street demonstrations and other attention grabbing acts of civil disobedience. Skills which they honed in the tumultuos sixties. They own academia, including the major universities. They have implanted themselves within every organization that influences policy, establishes mores, and sets the tone for the culture. They use the constitution when it benefits them in establishing their agenda, yet subvert it(or call it a living breathing document)when it does not.

They spend bilions on lobbyists and politicians that will work toward establishing their ideology so it may manifest into their socialist, relativist, liberal utopia.
To hell with the majority who doesn't want to go along for the ride.

Cheap Trick
Burt nice touch you seem to be putting something about sex into more and more pieces. Proves that you know you sex obsessed audience.

"...I’m not suggesting it’s right that their careers should end up in the junkyard, even though I tend to regard politicians as second-rate human beings, who, so far as I can see, are as interchangeable as geese..."

Here is the error of conservatism and why they are unable to govern. Public service whether as a soldier, EMT or politician is looked down upon by conservatives. Of course it would be with conservatism's cult of the individual and to heck with all else. I guess this explains the demise of family values.

Very good, Usefulidiots
Your post is almost as good as Burt's essay.

I've maintained for years that "independents" and especially "moderates" are simply liberals with no guts. Oh wait, that phrase is an oxymoron, huh?

Proof of my statement above? Carter, sniveling coward; Clinton, physical coward; Obama, narcissistic coward; Kennedy (Ted), murderous coward.

Every organization reflects the character of it's leader. Reagan was optimistic and sunny, which translated to the country. He blew off his detractors and went directly to the people. Truman was tough as nails, unflinching in the face of communists and insubordinate Generals.

We the people need to take back our school boards and city councils, RIGHT NOW! Once we get rid of those dippy hippies, we need to mobilize in 2010 and vote out ALL incumbants, save a few true believers like Jeff Flake, Jon Kyl, Demint, Corburn and Pence.

Get involved - stop ignoring the destruction of our country and culture. Their demise is our own.

Hal, Bleeding Heart and Mellor...
...would make wonderful apologists for somebody like Darth Sidious, aka Emperor Palpatine.

They're so eager and willing to forgive or excuse any fault, no matter how egregious.

It's an inherent weakness of the liberal species.

Double Standard at Work Again
Adultery didn't seem to end the careers of Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy.

Sex and Politics
Burt, There is a difference in response - Republicans kick their philanderers to the curb, for Democrats cheating on their wives seems to be a job prerequisite. Keep up the good work.

There is a double standard . . .
republicans throw out their "trash" while democRATS hoard theirs.
This has been going on for a long time. Just look at teddy "chappaquiddick" kennedy. He should have been convicted of "manslaughter" at the least. Instead, he is the "scion" of the democRATs. He bought the best "justice" that money can buy.

Hal....Huh?
Conservatives look down on soldiers and EMTs. If that is the case then my church switched from being conservative to liberal and forgot to tell me. This past Sunday we had what has become an annual tradition the Sunday before Independence Day, we have a service called Celebrate Freedom. With music, dance, and representatives from each branch of the military, we honor those who serve. Throughout the service we honor as we call them "our local heroes" by recognizing those who serve the public good: police, fire fighters, EMTs, nurses, teachers, etc. We offer a free bite to eat after the service to anyone who has or is currently serving in the military. We give out free Bibles signed by members of the congregation with words of encouragement to personnel currently serving in the military. If this is looking down on those who serve, can you enlighten me as to how liberals show greater appreciation for soldiers and local heroes?

What "senator" boxer does not . . .
understand is that salutations such as "ma'am" and "sir" are used as titles of RESPECT and deference to superiors. Subordinates are addresses by their rank.
It appears that "senator" (I use that term loosely) boxer needs to be taught proper military "protocol". Looks like she "dissed" herself with her insistence on being called "senator".

Who can trust... ?

Irrespective of political affiliation...

Who can trust anyone who thinks with the wrong organ ?

"Carter, sniveling coward."

And what about Reagan, the appeaser? He lifted the grain embargo Jimmy Carter imposed on the USSR when they invaded Afghanistan.

Reagan SUBSIDIZED corn and wheat sales to the Soviet Union. He once boasted, "I have made a loaf of bread cheaper in Moscow than in any town in America."

Zapped in the head
He also brought down the Soviet Union moron. That was his ultimate goal and he achieved it.

ANOTHER GREAT ONE, BURT
I agree with your 'two possibilities (a combination of both)' and the fact that conservatives are more balanced/progressives eat, breathe, and obsess on ideology 24/7.

The two court cases you mentioned made my blood boil, but despite BleedingHeartLiberal saying he/she didn't "know of too many people of any political persuasion who would say the judges were operating on all eight cylinders," I'm well informed enough to know those are becoming more the Rule than the Exception and there ARE progressives cheering on such injustices. The contrasts between conservatives and progressives' mindsets are amazingly stark!

We need *MORE* EXPRESSED and ACTED UPON OUTRAGE. WE CAN'T FIGURE 'SOMEBODY ELSE' WILL STAND UP OR THAT THE USA IS TOO STRONG/PROSPEROUS TO FAIL. That's fantasy thinking, not our usual logical way. Think American Revolution II - we have more reason to react than our Founding Fathers did! The progressives are too pervasive in positions of influence and power and it won't be long before EVERYBODY is directly harmed - which is surely when it's too late.

LIBERALS DEFINED

Sometimes we are encouraged about our country's future when you see something like this. Specifically, there is an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term:

This year's term was "Political Correctness. "

The winner wrote: "Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end"

R. J. Wiedemann LtCol. USMC Ret

(This guy has nailed it.)

"He also brought down the Soviet Union."

Poor analysis. The Soviet Union consistently spent 25% of GDP on defense in the 1950's, the 1960's, the 1970's and the 1980's. To think otherwise shows a serious lack of knowledge of Soviet history.

In fact, Reagan was an appeaser of Islamic fanaticism.

Neat program thank you. Your church may well have changed and not told you. Did you also invite social workers, family services, prison guards, local politicians from village boards to congressmen? What we so often over look is that they too serve the community and country. Every congressman I know (quite a few) could have made far more money in the private sector. After all Burt really does believe public servants are second rate citizens

Not liars
"...most of the 38% who identified themselves as moderates and independents in a recent poll are big fat liars..."

No. They honestly believe they are moderate. I know some of them; and, to a man, they all think they are moderate. If you doubt it, just look at the Leftist/liberal media; its people think that no one could be anywhere near as reasonable as they are.

A little self-righteous now Burt?
Well, aren't we in a holier-than-thou mood today, huh Burt?

"Whereas for those on the left their political agenda trumps everything"

Really Burt? You know that as a fact, right? Everyone who considers themself a Dem or on the "left" behaves as if their political agenda was more important than anything else?

Just because your writing career is now at rock-bottom as a "columnist" for TH doesn't mean you should take out your bitterness at the Left in Hollywood. You're biting the hand that fed you. You're quick to criticize "The Left" but the truth is you're just angry that you're not in the game anymore.

You think you're this clever wit with your "biting" rhetoric, but it's just nonesense. You're totally clueless, but hey -- I can't blame you for trying.

Just try to be a little less pathetic next time.

Burt
Great column, and yes the American taxpayer is getting screwed...but not in a good way.

Do you have anything of value to add? Anything at all? Every single time a liberal posts a diatribe on TH like yours, I know the columnist has hit a bulls eye. For the record we do know liberalism trumps everything. Actions always speak louder than words.

Ray gun knew to feed the people and starve the government. o and you don't get it. That's why Russia is now a christian nation and we are not. Generally libs are emotional first with perhaps an afterthought and conservatives are thinkers who know the difference between compassion and impulse.

Do you have your computer set to jump to any reference to sex in any article posted in TH?
Mac
Why ARE there so many liberals in academia? It is one reason the teaching profession is so disdained but that doesn't explain the cause. Probably too many women and women wannabe's. (See definition of libs) As for the media and Holly(dead)wood, stop feeding the beasts.

Jon
"Really Burt? You know that as a fact, right? Everyone who considers themself a Dem or on the "left" behaves as if their political agenda was more important than anything else?" It's "themselves", Jon. No such word as themself. And Burt has a point. On the boards, you tend to get people whose politics are the central value of their life. In real life, it seems to be the liberals who make their politics their religion, and conservatives who consider it just an aspect of their life. Part of the problem is that conservatives more often have a family, a religion, and other interests. The very nature of conservatism puts government in a subordinate place in their values system. They are more interested in general in preventing government from doing things to people than they are in having government solve their problems. On the other hand, liberals believe in government as a kind of surrogate savior. Government will solve their problems and create a better world. Therefore, politics become part of their surrogate salvation system. Most conservatives want government to limit what they do in running people's lives. They consider government more of a necessary evil.

Burt,
Great column, as usual.

I am shocked to learn that judges Bartheld and Washington may be on Obama's short list for the Supreme Court. If that rumor is true, it is not only appalling--it is downright scary.

I agree
Amen!

What race are the judges
and those involved in the cases?

OBAMA is a racist.

Liberal Declarations about Science

Most Liberals have declared that they cannot discern any differences between a male and a female.

Than Liberals further declare, that those who cannot differentiate the primary use of the orifices of the alimentary canal and the reproductive organs are normal and others are abnormal.

Then Barack Obama states that a 'Tire Gauge' is a better source of energy than drilling for oil.

Then Liberals assure us, that they know more about science than the rest of us, so they must save us from Global Warming without consensus or actual proof.

Liberals remind of a quote from the 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy':

"Please relax," said the voice pleasantly, like a stewardess in an airliner with only one wing and two engines, one of which is on fire, "you are perfectly safe."

MellorSJ2 considers himself intelligent

The alimentary canal was designed with two orifices beginning with the mouth, a tubular passage ending with the Anus.

The natural purpose of the Alimentary Canal, was for the entry of food and its digestion and absorption and then the elimination of residual waste.

There are obviously other uses for the two orifices, one end can expel words and the other can expel flatulence - it is sometimes very difficult to differentiate the two when dealing with a Liberal, but I digress.

Sexual organs (genitalia) were designed for the reproductive system (procreation) and a means of pleasure, gratification and reward for the male and female.

Most Human Beings regard the anal orifice as a bodily tool, for expelling flatulence and human waste.

Homosexual 'Men' have made a willful choice to regard the anal orifice, as 'Central' to their identity and the object of passion, adoration, sexual fulfillment and their reason for living.

Homosexuals and their apologists, then call this 'Intelligence'???

Retired Geek
"Please relax," said the voice pleasantly, like a stewardess in an airliner with only one wing and two engines, one of which is on fire, "you are perfectly safe."

And the only response is. "This must be some new definition of the word 'safe' that we were not formerly aware of."

When liberals talk about science, that is pretty much all that they do-- talk about science. They don't use actual studies or research, only snippets of what is said in articles. I've read extensively on the actual science on both sides, and the best thing that can be said for anthropogenic global warming is that it is dubious and unproven. Many scientists whose work I know and respect agree that this is true.

The only science I have a modest expertise in is astronomy. The one observation about global warming from that science is that there was a 25 year period when the Martian ice caps receded, ending in 1999. Now they are stable. While we have no proof of massive number of SUVs or coal fired power plants on mars, we kinda think it is caused by a solar cycle which is now over. And yes, I've observed the Martian ice caps for myself a number of times when I learned of this twenty or more years ago.

How will Obama handle Costs of ObamaCare

"Code named "Aktion T4," the Nazi euthanasia program to eliminate "life unworthy of life" at first focused on newborns and very young children.

Midwives and doctors were required to register children up to age three who showed symptoms of mental retardation, physical deformity, or other symptoms included on a questionnaire from the Reich Health Ministry.

A decision on whether to allow the child to live was then made by three medical experts solely on the basis of the questionnaire, without any examination and without reading any medical records.

The Nazi euthanasia program quickly expanded to include older disabled children and adults.

Hitler's decree of October, 1939, typed on his personal stationery and back dated to Sept. 1, enlarged "the authority of certain physicians to be designated by name in such manner that persons who, according to human judgment, are incurable can, upon a most careful diagnosis of their condition of sickness, be accorded a mercy death."

http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/timeline/euthanasia.h tm

-----------------------------------------------------

Hitler was very popular with the German people and 89.9% voted for him in his election.

The NAZI's (National Socialist German Workers Party) created at least 6 'Death Centers' for these Mercy Killings and were very 'Aggressive', about sending weak, handicapped, elderly and seriously ill people to them.

There are over 5,000 'Life Centers' in America that we call Hospitals.

Barack Obama has indicated that ObamaCare will be very 'Passive', about sending weak, handicapped, elderly and seriously ill people to them.

Burt
You know you hit some nerves when you see the resident trolls crawling out of the septic to diss you. Nothing like "fan mail" to verify a hit. And they are too stupid to see it coming.

As for possibilities, I'd go with the second one, they've made a Faustian deal and We The People need another Daniel Webster to beat Old Scratch, however I don't know if we will have the time it takes to find an All American Patriot
STATESMAN who will contend with the devils disciple before he destroys our Republic and
elections will be as honest as Hugo's and the Mullahs of Iran are.

Real scandal is wasting our money
"'screwing the taxpayer' but breaking laws and their oaths of office to do so. THAT's the REAL immorality in Washington."

I'm with Mrs. Paddy on this one. If taxpayers both Democrat and Republican were incensed by the utter waste of their money by elected representatives instead of getting distracted by private sexual shenanigans, the country would be much better off.

Which is more harmful to the taxpayer and therefore to the country's health? Someone who hasn't grown up about sex and loyalty to his family or someone who treats tax dollars like confetti or his personal re-election fund?

The electorate needs to impose term limits by sweeping all incumbents out. Candidates with no experience could not do worse and are likely to do better because it takes time to learn now to steal from the electorate. Keep voting out incumbents until you get a good one who actually reads what they're voting for and insists on discussing it before rubber stamping trillions on the say so of someone who's likely not legally eligible to be POTUS.

Make known to the media that we're willing to pay for unbiased reporting on what politicians are doing that impacts on our actual lives, not for scandal mongering.

American Senators and Congressmen are a disgrace to Americans, from the bottom of the barrel instead of the top.

Throw them out and repeat until you get a crop who behave themselves.

libs/lefties and their world view
to repeat the old axiom applicable top libs/lefties

For them each morning is a new awakening. They have not only forgotten every thing they have done the day before but are also unaware of what occurred yesterday, let alone what has happened throughout history.

Thus they are never aware of the consequences of their actions from the day before.

But they see everything as needed their help and guidance to find a solution, irrespective of how illogical their ideas are.

But nightly they go to bed telling themselves the world is a better place because they passed this way

Take, take, take.
"Jobs, jobs, jobs?" (As Pelosi says.) B.S.!

Waxman-Markey, aka Cap and Trade, will cripple this country horribly if it passes the Senate.

I'm no scientist, but I do know that CO2 is necessary for life to exist. Why the heck would anyone promote regulating the very element animals and humans exhale, and our vegetation requires for subsistance?

One Big A** Mistake America

Never have so few words said so much to so many.

Obama's Collectivism at any Cost

The goal of a 'collectivist' like Obama and his supporter-apologists is unity at any cost - by coercion.

All groups, black or white - male or female different ethnic ancestries, different economic classes - are divided purposefully and then united by the 'common good' which is a collectivist society.

Collectivism has been called many names: Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Nazism, American Liberalism etc. but the differences are only in application not in core values.

The role of the individual citizen in the collectivist society is to surrender personal identity and self determination for the 'common good' of all - not through personal Altruism but the surrender of individualism to the state.

Wealth and property whether intellectual or real is commonly held for the 'common good' instead of individually held for the 'individual good'.

Collectivism doesn't work unless all citizens participate - this produces the dynamic of coericion which has killed more people than all of the wars in history - over 100,000,000 and counting.

Obama has a new version of the same old components - adding the religious component of all religions working together for unity.

Medical doctors who refuse to become part of 'Universal Healthcare' will apparently be the first casualties by losing their license to practice medicine - coercion by losing all they have studied and worked for - or working for the 'common good'.

Obama will call for all to surrender 'self' for the 'common good' or face the consequences.

Obama followers are chanting "Yes We Can" to their 'Hope' of 'Change We Can Believe In'.

Obama will attempt to bring unity by Obamunism no matter the cost!

Hal Donohue
Naw. You're wrong about Congress. Most of them could not even earn a living with a menial job. You seem to think their only income is their salary. Don't be a chump. Most politicians have a deficit of morals and a need for power.

As for Nancy Pelosi, I don't think she is competent to wash dishes.

Mellor
Son, you need to get some colon cleaner to clear your brain. Your internal septic tank has backed up.

GEEK IS A FREAK
I don't know or care what you're 'retired" from, (probably garbage collector) You're no Geek - that's for sure.

I have seen you post the same filthy description of anal sex a dozen times now on various columns. You pass yourself off as an expert on the inner workings of Obama's mind, and an expert on Gay Sex. How diverse! Both descriptions are insane delusional garbage and I can't believe you are serious about either topic. Your description of Obama as a Nazi is is like listening to a person in a psychiatric hospital. I'm sorry for your dementia. I know you're basically harmless, and none of what you say has any shred of truth to it, but please do us a favor and keep your gay sex fantasies to yourself and stop posting them everywhere.

rosario
" please do us a favor and keep your gay sex fantasies to yourself and stop posting them everywhere." So, rosario-- you find descriptions of anal sex repulsive? So do we. That's the point, because that's what it's about-- anal sodomy. Normal people find that repulsive, and in all the flowery talk about true love and civil rights, that's what it is ultimately about. Got it?

Mr. Prelutsky
Are there any facts in your editorial, or just rumor and innuendo?

You should rename this editorial:

"I really, really, hate liberals!!"

Gays are inconsistent
Strange how Rosario and other gay friendly posters react so violently to unvarnished facts about gay sex outside the gay community which is known for its raunchiness.

This is a double standard. There are to be no limits on gays (only group allowed full frontal public nudity as in Pride events, bordellos called bath houses etc) but when someone publishes the nitty gritty, that's not allowed.

Why is there a vast difference in AIDS rates between gay and heterosexual males? The answer is a) gay promiscuity and b) back door sex.

Unlike the vagina, the back door was not designed for penetration and does not have the various biological defenses against infection. It has a thinner mucosa and is more susceptible to tears giving a ready entryway to the AIDs virus.

Unpalatable as these facts are, they remain facts. The gay agenda especially when it wants to move into the education domain should not be allowed to cherry pick their facts.

Their fear is undoubtedly that looking at the biology, gayness looks not like a lifestyle or "choice" but inborn bad luck and some compensations for the bad luck (like back door sex) are revealed as risky.

It's human nature to want to feel "cool" instead of unlucky and at risk. However, when you allow a minority of activists in your community to keep pushing a radical agenda, then sooner or later, people are going to say "OK. Let's have a no holds barred discussion of this condition, everything on the table".

And as Rosario demonstrates, that's just too strong for even many in the gay community and their supporters who want only the white picket fence version of gayness known by the general population.

Kindel
Not too mention the new MRSA infection that started in San Francisco and spreading across the country being spread through the gay community.

Late weigh in
I wondered how Democratic politics ruled in a democratic country for so long in places like Chicago and other cities where there is an undeniably bad track record. You would think that the people would vote the bums out.

The answer is the machine. Chicago machine politics makes sure the chosen candidate wins regardless, using whatever tactics necessary. Obama has quickly put in place his machine, funding his ballot box stuffers at ACORN and others. If the Republicans think they are going to win by articulating great ideas and showing the Dems bad track record, they are fooling themselves.

Taxes on Dangerous Behavior??

There should be a special Homosexual tax, if cigarettes are taxed because of Health Risks.

Homosexuality is dangerous to the health and well being of the individual.

Teaching that Homosexual lifestyles are Natural and Normal in schools to children, invalidates any health warnings about such things as cigarettes - Homosexuality is more dangerous to health than cigarettes.

The last Health warning I have heard about 'Swine Flu' said over 13,000 cases have been reported in the United States. There is over 17,000 cases of HIV/AIDS in Washington DC alone.

Common sexual practices among Homosexual men lead to numerous STDs and physical injuries, some of which are virtually unknown in the heterosexual population.

Lesbians are also at higher risk for STDs.

In addition to diseases that may be transmitted during lesbian sex, a study at an Australian STD clinic found that lesbians were three to four times more likely than heterosexual women to have sex with men who were high-risk for HIV.

It is well established that there are high rates of psychiatric illnesses, including depression, drug abuse, and suicide attempts, among Homosexuals and lesbians.

This is true even in the Netherlands, where gay, lesbian and bisexual (GLB) relationships are far more socially acceptable than in the U.S.

Depression and drug abuse are strongly associated with risky sexual practices that lead to serious medical problems.

The only epidemiological study to date on the life span of Homosexual men concluded that Homosexual and bisexual men lose up to 20 years of life expectancy.

A Homosexual tax would help defray the costs the rest of us have to pay because of their 'Chosen Lifestyle'.

This money should be escrowed to help poor families buy health insurance and life insurance which has skyrocketed because of the poor decisions made by those 'Choosing a Homosexual' lifestyle.

Information on MRSA

New Staph Infection Spreads Among Homosexual Males

"January 17, 2008 - A study released by the Annals of Internal Medicine recently has found that a highly resistant staph infection is spreading among gay populations in San Francisco, Boston, New York and Los Angeles.

The infection is methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), which has mostly been confined to hospitalized patients.

According to San Francisco health officials, the risk of getting MRSA is 13 times greater for gay men than for the rest of the city's population.

"We probably had it here first, and now it is spreading elsewhere," said Binh An Diep, a researcher at San Francisco General Hospital. "This is a national problem, and San Francisco is at the epicenter."

The staph bacteria causes boils and other skin and soft tissue infections - and occurs frequently in the buttocks and genitalia.

The Centers for Disease Control says that various forms of MRSA are causing an estimated 95,000 infections and 19,000 deaths annually in the U.S.

According to Diep, "We are nowhere near the peak [of the epidemic]. The peak will occur when it spreads into the general population."

Rosario and others who refuse Reality

I agree that reality is difficult to face.

When Barack and Michelle Obama were fighting for and defending 'Partial Birth Abortions', I decided to see what the 'Fray' was all about.

I decided to watch a video of an actual 'Partial Birth Abortion' and couldn't sleep for three days.

I knew little if anything about the 'Homosexual Lifestyle' that was being heralded as natural and normal and that children should be taught about Homosexuality and its merits.

I decided to watch a video of a Homosexual parade in San Francisco and researched the various Homosexual practices.

Stating that I was shocked and appalled is a gross understatement.

I will speak out about this and try and warn others, while you can play peek-a-boo and hide from reality.

If you don't like my posts - don't read them - I have posted the information numerous times on 13 different websites and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

Wow!
What a rambling, illogical disjointed piece! Has the author ever actually met a liberal? Because this piece describes exactly zero of my liberal friends.
But the part I find most odd is that he roundly condemns politicians as a group (rightfully so) but then proceeds to argue for political solutions to social problems.

Hey Spurs! The
Lootenant Kernal from Scranton PA is so filled with hate for POTUS Bush 43, that he is going to take the law into his own hands.
The Kernal is recruiting a rogue posse from his flock of "walkin eagles" to fly down to Dallas with him to place the former POTUS George W. Bush under citizen arrest.
Soros is making his private jet available. If the Kernal is successful, he plans to fly directly to the Hague providing the jet has the range.
He will have an additional obstacle to overcome besides the Secret Service.
The former President has recruited several Texas Rangers who are former badd a** Marine Recon Gunny Sar'hints as body guards.
If any of the "walkin' eagles decide to accompany the Kernal on his Don Quixote quest. they better have all of their insurance in force.

Barack Obama a Cunning Narcissist

Barack Obama displays the same characteristics of all Despotic leaders before him, malignant narcissism, total self absorption, lack of empathy for anyone but himself, aggressiveness towards anyone who questions him or opposes his views and a dependence on words rather than real solutions.

Barack Obama does NOT possess the intellect of a Lenin or Marx, but does have’Cunning’ that substitutes for intellect in his case.

Barack Obama has shown a long history in using 'Passive' rather than 'Active' aggression to accomplish his hidden agenda. From Obama's 127 votes of ‘Present’, which reflected his disproval of the issues, he was supposedly voting on, to his refusal to allow the Illinois BAIPA to leave his committee.

Obama has repeatedly shown his bias against ‘Success’ and his intentions of investing in failure.

Obama is personally ashamed of America and spends a great deal of time and energy apologizing for America rather than sing its praises.

Bowing to a King who represents Islam Jihad, was only a sub-conscious reflex of his personal inner feelings, as was the labeling of those who believe in the Bible and personal defense, whom he described as ‘Bitter Clingers’.

Barack Obama knew the implications of the Sotomayor nomination and chose her because 'Fairness' in employment and 'Racial Harmony' is NOT part of his agenda.

Joining a Church that taught and preached 'God Damn America', that taught and preached 'Black Separatism', having his wedding performed there, his children baptized there, choosing that Pastor as his 'Personal Mentor' and 'spiritual guide' and sounding board - belies any attempt with words to conceal his true feelings.

In reality, every action and decision Barack Obama makes is all about Barack Obama, his undisclosed personal agenda and his desire and need to punish those who oppose him or his agenda or even his thoughts.

Happy B-Day Barack!
Would you like to send Barack Obama a birthday message this year?

Now's your chance.

Though he has never released a long-form birth certificate, Obama claims to have been born Aug. 4, 1961, in an unnamed Honolulu hospital that has yet to take credit for the historic birth of the baby who would become America's first black president.

WND's SuperStore has designed and printed postcards for the occasion. The front of the card raises the question: "Where's the birth certificate?" The back is open for your personalized greetings.

"I'm encouraging Americans to send these postcards in plenty of time for Barack Obama's birthday," said Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND and someone who has made it his personal mission to find that missing birth certificate. "This is an opportunity to anyone to send two messages at once to Obama – one concerning the search for truth about his constitutional eligibility for office and the second your own personalized note."

Farah points out the postcards can be used to send notes to anyone – not just Barack Obama.

"These postcards are not pre-addressed to the White House," he said. "They are postcards that can be used to send to your friends, your member of Congress, your relatives. It's just another way of keeping the issue of eligibility on the front burner – right up through 2012 if necessary."

Purchasers of the postcards will receive mailing addresses for the White House and Congress should they choose to use them for those purposes.

It's just the latest effort by Farah to raise the visibility of an issue he says was ignored by his colleagues in the media and most of the nation's elected officials, including Republicans.

When POTUS makes TOTUS mad

Barack Obama enters his White House restroom.

TOTUS: Approach the Urinal and begin peeing.

TOTUS: Unzip pants.

TOTUS: Shake it.

TOTUS: Zip pants.

White House Secret Service Agent: 'We have a problem. We need an emergency mop up in the Presidents restroom and fresh pants and panties'.

Did POTUS upset TOTUS?

Why Dems win
Burt seems to wonder why, if twice as many Americans describe themselves as conservative rather than liberal, the Dems win all the elections. It's really simple.

In every election the Dems get 97% of the black vote and 96% of the teachers' union vote. Period. (I made up the numbers for effect -- to say in a colorful way that the Dems get the vast majority of votes from those two sources.)

Seriously, I live in Wisconsin, and Wisconsin has been run as a subsidiary of the teachers' union for years. Without that union, the Dems couldn't win anything here.)

Throw in a little cheating (or more than a little) by ACORN and the like, and the Dems win elections.

Really: if the Dems got only 50% of the black vote, they couldn't elect a dogcatcher in East Paducah. With only 50% of the teachers' union vote, they couldn't elect anyone in my state, or in most others.

Block voting is the key. The Repubs, whether conservative or not, do not have any blocks that vote their way consistently. I doubt even career military people vote as consistently Repub as teachers' union members, much less black voters, vote Dem.

WHY is carbon dioxide considered a pollutant?

For the same reason the professor wars in our colleges and universities are so hate-filled and virulent.

Because those wars are based on almost NOTHING. They fight over the "territory" they are researching, over supposed defamation of character (which they have already defamed themselves), and over other forms of trivia.

Carbon dioxide, despite being exhaled by animals and being essential for plants to grow, remains a TRACE GAS in the earth's atmosphere, which is mainly nitrogen and oxygen.

Calling it a pollutant is one of the purest examples I have ever seen of a pseudo-scientific scam that, because of the public's total ignorance of biology, and more specifically of ecology, can give government enormous power .

Why dems win:
- they get the vote of all of the people who hate America and/or love anarchy/socialism/communism/facism
- they get the vote of the blacks who prefer to stay on the plantation and be beholden to Massah Gov't
- they get the vote of 100% of the non-gay voters who think and/or act like they are gay (a large percentage of the "gay" population are not gay at all (ask any true gay person) - they just like the life style and are just poseurs)
- they get most of the vote from the voters in the teacher's union and several other unions
- they get the vote of the voters who pay no income tax, which at last count, was over 50% (this has been the dem target for some time and was foreseen by the Founding Fathers as a problem when we came to this point)
- they get the vote of 100% of the voters who are idiots (and last seen, this was over 50% too) and don't mind being "nanny-ized" - in fact they prefer it, as being self-reliant is just too darned hard

And finally, there is a problem with the quality of the Republican candidates - too many of the good ones can't stand to be around the scum from the dem party and soon depart from politics and get into a field where they feel they can actually be productive and work with other like-minded people. The dems are happy as pigs in slop to be around other mindless, mendacious people, whose only focus in life is self-aggrandizement, larceny and debauchery.

The “Progressive” Version of History

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/a_peoples_history_the_progress /
by Oleg Atbashian

"Prior to July 4, 1776, not a single person in the world starved, got sick, worked hard for a living, or experienced any pain nor anxiety. No one had ever been oppressed or unfairly exploited because the oppressive and unfair American system had not yet been created.

People never heard of war, crime, corruption, slavery, torture, murder, cannibalism, and man-made hurricanes. Peace and harmony reigned supreme because the concepts of greed, selfishness, and private property had not yet been invented by the American corporate interests and maliciously spread around the world as part of the American cultural hegemony.

...This Golden Age lasted from about 20,000 BC up until the American Revolution.”
Family planning, effective birth control, and early sex education ensured that every family had exactly 2.2 children per household, which prevented overpopulation and famine. Commerce, travel, and international trade were uncommon; everyone lived and died within not more than a five-mile distance from their birthplace. People didn’t feel the need to migrate, set up colonies, take over other countries, create empires, settle in uninhabited areas, or fight one another over a creek in the desert.

All farming was organic and for subsistence purposes only. The environment was clean due to reliance on alternative fuels and invigorating manual labor. As a result, everybody lived in comfortable, carbon-neutral houses, eating plenty of good food on a regular basis, and driving fuel-efficient automobiles when they weren’t riding their 18-speed urban cruiser bicycles..."

You know and admit, of course, that carbon dioxide isn't toxic in any naturally occurring quantity. I'm sure you also know that carbon dioxide has been much higher in the past without raising temperatures. I'm also sure you know that Mars had about 25 years of warming temperatures at the same time we did, and that it's stopped. You must know that none of the computer models have worked to predict anything as regards temperature change, and that the same type of models and some of the same people who devised them were used to claim scientifically proven global cooling thirty years ago.

You know all these things, and yet you believe in anthropogenic global warming. Puzzling.

zapdoodat
CO2 is essential and non-polluting except in far higher concentrations than we are seeing. Ozone and iron are irrelevant except in the sense that we NEED both, just as green plants NEED CO2. We could go on and list selenium, potassium, etc. etc.

My point remains: ignorance gives intrusive government power it could never have over a truly educated electorate.

Robert
"You know and admit, of course, that carbon dioxide isn't toxic in any naturally occurring quantity."

Sure, is the CO2 coming out of cars and stacks natural? The world's oceans are an important part of turning CO2 back into O2. Has no one told you the oceans are becoming polluted and dieing?

"I'm sure you also know that carbon dioxide has been much higher in the past without raising temperatures."

What other factors were involved?

"You must know that none of the computer models have worked to predict anything as regards temperature change,..."

Yes, all those computer models paid for by Exxon-Mobil!

The cigarette companies paid many 'scientists' to testify that nicotine is not addictive. Tell me, is nicotine addictive?

and that the same type of models and some of the same people who devised them were used to claim scientifically proven global cooling thirty years ago.

oldprof
"My point remains: ignorance gives intrusive government power it could never have over a truly educated electorate."

So true.

I thought you were making the point that if something is in TRACE amounts (CO2), it's effects, by definition, must be negligible. We both know that statement to be false, right?

Robert
"I'm also sure you know that Mars had about 25 years of warming temperatures at the same time we did, and that it's stopped."

Completely irrelevant. Different orbit, different geology (oceans), different atmosphere.

I never knew this about Mars. Where are you being indoctrinated that this important to the Earth's environmental science?

oldprof
"CO2 is essential and non-polluting except in far higher concentrations than we are seeing."

Ohh...how do you know that? A small increase in CO2 in the upper atmosphere could cause a large increase of capture of infrared radiation. It may not be linear.

Robert in AZ
Didn't EVERY literate person on earth know about the Mars phenomenon?

Is deliberate suppression of this information occurring? Have I just been neglecting MSM propaganda rags too much?

zapdoodat
"Where are you being indoctrinated that this important to the Earth's environmental science?" Indoctrinated? It's clearly stated in all the science on Mars's climate. No politics involved. The change in Earth's temperatures is also related to the amount of sunlight it receives, as does Mars's temperature. "Sure, is the CO2 coming out of cars and stacks natural? The world's oceans are an important part of turning CO2 back into O2. Has no one told you the oceans are becoming polluted and dieing?" That's dying, zap, not dieing. By natural levels, I mean levels that have existed naturally in the history of the Earth. Many times it has been higher without causing warming. It does follow warming, however. The oceans are not becoming polluted and dying. Pollution has mostly been reduced over the last half century, certainly that part that the USA is responsible for. ""You must know that none of the computer models have worked to predict anything as regards temperature change,..."

Yes, all those computer models paid for by Exxon-Mobil!" You're pretty confused, zap. I'm referring to the computer models used to claim AGW, not anything done by oil companies. I'm referring the computer models AGW rely on-- which don't work.

Your argument is confusing to follow. This is because it is not scientific in nature, but merely a repeating of pseudoscientific factoids quoted out of context. There are not only an enormous number of scientists who disagree with AGW, but many who once supported the idea and now consider it incorrect and worse, unscientific.

oldprof
"Didn't EVERY literate person on earth know about the Mars phenomenon?"

One side-step, where did you hear that info?

zapdoodat

"A small increase in taxes COULD send a few million people into bankruptcy,

When do we actually start paying for just two of the BIG Republican initiatives started six years ago called the Iraq war and Medicare, Prescription, Part D?

Robert in AZ
The red herrings a certain person keeps dragging across the trail are smelling pretty strong, aren't they?

oldprof
"I'm also sure you know that Mars had about 25 years of warming temperatures at the same time we did, and that it's stopped."

I'm curious because the Earth's average temperature is measured using around 1000 weather stations' daily measurements.

How is this done measuring the average temperature of Mars atmosphere, where we can see at most half of the planet under the best of circumstances?

Mars (the core) could be warming, but the atmosphere could be cooling, or vice versa.
We, at earth, can only see what is presented to us millions of miles away. This may or may not reflect what is happening in Mars' atmosphere alone.

zapdoodat
You seem to be confusing my comments with Robert's.

However, are you aware that some of the measuring stations used to report supposed AGW (which I prefer to give its more appropriate and descriptive acronym CACA (catastrophic anthropogenic climate alteration) were originally in more rural locations but through land development came to be in more urban (therefore warmer) locations without being physically moved?

BTW, the LIE (liberal intellectual establishment) promotes all this CACA to gain power:

The LIE expels CACA all day
And tries to make all of us pay
To consume it instead
Of the good things like bread
For which we're directed to pray.

But praying is one thing that seems
Unlikely to enter their schemes
Of putting a price
On every device
Guaranteed to kill all of our dreams.

oldprof
Some cute stuff with CACA and all (not scientific), but your statement below seems to say, directly, that man can cause global warming. Don't we all know that the human population is growing and becoming more urbanized as well?

"were originally in more rural locations but through land development came to be in more urban (therefore warmer) locations without being physically moved?"

Oldprof - Eloquence. True in form and truth. When I was in High School, quite a long time ago, Ozone (O3) was the big thing among the 'Environmentalists'. It seems they always have to have a cause about the environment. Every decade brings a different one!

American Patriot - My only comment is that you need to go to a dictionary and look up "Patriot", My impression is, sir, that you ARE NOT one!

zapdoodat--does not compute
Population bomb stuff now? I read Paul Ehrlich when his book first came out. I watched every one of his confident predictions NOT HAPPEN.

This is another red herring.

You skew the results when you leave sensors in an area that is becoming urbanized. It's a scam or it's carelessness. But the LIE is not interested in precision--only in material for propaganda.

The scientists who originally advocated CACA and then repudiated it had become aware of more accurate information, including information about the inaccurate results obtained from stations whose LOCAL environmental conditions changed.

You want to know what I think is going to overshadow the CACA scam? COPPER shortages. That's the first ELEMENT we will find ourselves in big trouble with, and not because there's too much. Notice the copper thieves tearing up AC units? They are the true prophets on the environment. But that's only my opinion. I heard it from a brilliant environmentalist personally but he could have been wrong. Nevertheless, if you melt all your pennies, the resulting mass will be worth considerably more than the coins.

Theologians’ Purgatory
(for Mary of Bethany)

A multitude, naked, afraid and cold
Float in a fog, no ground on which to stand,
No gravity apart from that they hold
Within themselves, no trace of a demand
For their opinions. Yet without a show
Of doubt they hold forth, make great argument
On things divine—things that they cannot know—
And cast doubt on all others’ good intent.

But wait—one has gone silent in the crowd
Of moving mouths and discourse-deafened ears.
Waiting in wonder, she ignores the loud
Voices that hide hearts full of ancient fears
Until at last, unburdened, free to fly,
She soars into the waiting silent sky.

Burt is rght about liberals
"Another reason that liberals have so much power is that people on the right live more balanced lives that include work, family, hobbies, charity and religion, whereas for those on the left, their political agenda trumps everything else in life."

I came to a similar conclusion myself some time ago. Take a look at Hal et al who post endlessly - essentially the past-time of a real-life loser.

These people have a lot in common with the JWs in terms of fanatical proselytising, although at least the JWs eventually get the message when you dont want to hear them anymore.

However I see the liberal force declining over time because false ideas can't stand the test of time.

July 4, 2009 Remember American Soldiers

History will record that the American Soldier and those American Soldiers who have fallen, rank in the greatest humans who have ever lived on this planet.

The American Soldier has set free millions in bondage and defended the freedom of America with willingness of the ultimate sacrifice.

The Fallen American Soldier is someone who walked the hero's path. Someone who walked into the heart of darkness for Duty, Honor and Country.

The American Soldier waits for the day that they have lived for and trained for their entire life - to defend until death, their families and America, its citizens and freedom.

The American soldier is the fiercest Warrior ever in history, because their mission is the defense of family, neighbors, America and freedom.

The families of the American Soldier, while their faces beamed with pride, their hearts were filled with anxiety and tears as they watched their American Soldier leave to defend them and this Great Country.

Families and neighbors look with horror as the military vehicle stops in front of the home of the American Soldier, to inform them of the ultimate sacrifice of their hero.

No honor can be too great; every tribute is too small for the Fallen American Soldier and their families.

God Bless the American Soldier and their families!

God have mercy on every American Soldier in our History who has made the ultimate Sacrifice in defense of this 'Great Nation' and setting Humans free all over the World.

Pat
How do you embarrass a politician?

Isn't the real reason power
Isn't the real reason the desire for power. The liberal mind is really organized to change the distribution of property,power,influence, jobs from those who earn these things through hard work and merit to those who can steal them through joint effort and collusion.

For example, after the student riots of the 60's student academics piled into tenured faculty positions in order not only to obtain safe,secure positions from which to pontificate about their ideas but more importantly to become the "gatekeepers" on who gets to control the future.

They decide who is the smartest. Who gets tenure in the future, who moves on to graduate schools, who is regarded as "brilliant" etc. etc.

Nice work if you can get it and important if your ultimate goal is to control the leaders of our country.

Why is it....
...that so many posts are written by folks who seem not to know the difference between the words "loose" and "lose?"

"Loose" means "not snug, or perhaps morally too giving."
"Lose" means "doesn't win."

Why is that so difficult?

This thread......

Demonstrates the utter futility of trying to have
a reasoned discussion with a liberal troll on this site.

Reading the posts of a SFLT may be sadly amusing, or
illustrative of the current liberal mindset’s talking points.

Responding to them is usually a waste of time.

My thanks to Retired Geek @ 9:42
for the link to a great article.

That is what I like about this site, not the SFLTs.

Oldprof ,

I am a big fan of yours, and I love your stuff,

but, pennies no longer have much copper in their alloy.

Not certain when this changed. I do remember the 1943, steel penny.

Newer pennies are mostly zinc.

It's no wonder that there are so many bugs in today's software with idiots like you creating it, but then, that's most likely why you're out of a job!

Like I told you yesterday when you posted the same crap about Reagan, you need to get off of your fat a$$ and get a job. Yes, you may have to settle for something less and heaven forbid it may be working something as mundane as retail, but quit sucking off of the public teat and do something.

You also should avoid discussions about global warming when all of your info comes from Al Gore's movie! If you want to be ticked off at someone, you should be furious with him because his little global warming conspiracy has not only made him a multi millionaire, it has also made him the most hypocritical traitor that ever lived! I'm willing to bet that his house consumes more energy that twenty smaller ones!

" Zappy " explained...

As a retired Electrical Engineer, I am well aware of the dangers of becoming an integral component of an active electrical circuit.

I suspect this explains the strangeness of " Zappies' posts ".

I suspect he/she/it was involved in a tragic industrial accident.

~~~
I once saw a 440 Volt, copper bus bar of 36 square inches of cross sectional area, rupture and draw an arc that quickly grew to several feet in length, as the copper vaporized.
The strange green cloud of copper vapor was toxic, and required the entire bay of a couple acres in size, to be evacuated.
I suspect " Zappy " was too close to ground zero.
~~~

If anyone has a better idea for he/she/it 's aberant posts, I am willing to entertain the thought and sustain my posit.

Ratas y Ratones
re copper content of coins, I stand corrected--not a thing I've studied lately.

But have you heard what I have heard about the massive future copper shortage that will challenge us all?

Zapodat,
You, or any other 'scientists', care to explain how a trace atmospheric gas has recently (c.a. 1988) become able to arrest/reverse the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics?

Small change....

The change from a copper penny to a penny made
from a zinc core with a copper wash occurred in 1982.

You can tell the different 1982s apart by bouncing them on
a hard surface, the one with a “higher” ringing sound is zinc.

Trolls, on the other hand, all make the same dull “thud”

Politicians and adultery
Politicians usually have control over public funds--sometimes LOTS of public funds. The politician who commits adultery is exposing himself to potential blackmail, and that shows very poor judgement.

Politics Money and Sex
Re the Left and your comment..."Politics trumps everything else in life".
Mark Hemingway got himself arrested by Franco during the Spanish Civil War, 1937. He figured no one shoots an American journalist. So he was not worried. Then the prisoner in the next cell was dragged out. He screemed and screemed. Hemingway wondered "Was the doomed man a Red or a Fascist traitor"? By the time he stopped screeming, when they had shot him in the courtyard, Hemingway did not care."

A Leftist would have cared to the end.

Burt, please keep writing.

Chord,

Thanks for the info, on penny ringing.

I just tried it, with a pre '82, and a post '82, and the ringing in my ears, is louder than both.
So, you must be one of the young whippersnappers.

I got a chuckle out of the troll-thud.

If you bounce trolls on a hard surface on a regular basis, can you make a 'you-tube' video, so we can all enjoy it?

Oldprof,

I have not heard of the impending Copper problem.
Do you have a link?

As I said earlier, I am a fan of yours, and enjoy both your prose and poetry.

We are all knowledgeable about different things, and I learn something new, most every day, from posters on here.
To wit, "The Copper shortage."

Ok. "Some posters". "Zappy" has excluded he/she/it ~ self.

Liberals
Liberals have controlled the news media and academia for years. Their main job has not been to teach but to dumb down the American population. And they have done a very good job of it. 52% of the apathetic, ignorant dolts out there have given us an America-hating socialist as our President.
No wonder I have not had the desire to fly my flag this 4th. of July.

Happy Birthday Baracky!

Go here for more info on sending Baracky a B-Day greeting he won't forget:

On troll feeding for Hosquatch
I am aware that efforts to communicate with trolls are mostly futile, but in fact after 42 years of teaching courses in many fields I am not bothered by stubborn ignorance.

All I look for is the smallest gleam of awareness; I have seen potential trolls converted, both live and online, while teaching courses in both environments

But I no longer attempt communication with certain people on these pages. Zap is about to go on my "do not respond" list, but has not quite got there yet.

Oldprof,

As I only have 'Dial-up', I must do things in a very sequential order as it takes from 5 to 15 minutes per activity.

As for working with 'Zappy', the best of luck to you.

Reminds me of a story, probably centuries old, where a farmer bragged about having the smartest mule in the world.

At a demonstration, the farmer told the mule to do something, but nothing happened.

He told the mule again, and still the mule did nothing.

The farmer grabbed an axe handle and hit the mule in the head with a terrific wallop, repeated the command, and the mule began to work.

When chided by the observers about having the smartest mule in the world, the farmer replied, "He is. You just have to get his attention first."

The Old Barn Rat

Dialup--bummer. I'd call that internet "roughing it." I actually lived in a tent one summer, while working as a lifeguard at a woodsy resort. That was roughing it physically, and it prepared me for later teaching expeditions in the Tetons, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon.

But not too long after the lifeguard summer, I met and married a highly civilized young woman (44 years married now) whose definition of roughing it was a hotel without room service!

PS to RyR
Love the mule story. My father told it to me many yrs ago, so it must be true.

Oldprof...

Oldprof,

That is a genuine eye opener !

I knew that High Tension lines have mostly gone to a cable composed of Aluminum conductors around a Steel core which drastically cut into the overall use of Copper, but a single Substation transformer uses several tons of Copper.

Other than being many times larger, I can't imagine how an Aluminum based transformer would be built.

~~~
The crux of the article appears to be that there is not enough Copper in the World for everyone to have a life that includes modern civilization.
China appears to be the only Country in the World that is purposely limiting its population increase to meet the problem of an overcrowded World, in a peaceful manner.
North Korea, Iran, and "The Current Resident," seem bound on a course for a more immediate and drastic solution.
I married late in life, around age 30, as did 5 generations before me, in my patriarchal line.
We have been married 37 years, and have often 'roughed it'.
We lived in a barn for the first 14 years, upgraded to a house trailer for another 12 years, and finally got a house. Lap of luxury. Ha.
BTW you said you like my poetry (mostly doggerel, actually). A poster (John) on another article inspired this new one:
Metronome Man
The speech may be cunning and deft
But turning to right and to left
With predictable pace
Makes the president's face
Seem of all human semblance bereft.
But that's not a problem for me
When his crazy proposals I see
For taking my cash
To fund programs so rash
That we might as well drown in the sea.
Perhaps this strange metronome man
Will discover that, do what he can,
His support will soon die
And the congress defy
His robotic marxistical plan.
If he wants the ultimate prize,
He has to look straight in their eyes
And assure them that he
Wants them to be free
So they will believe all his lies.
The answer . . .
to conservative political apathy in the last "election" was LACK OF A REAL CHOICE. john mccaine was to the "right" of the "messiah" but WAY to the "left" in conservative political circles. Ditto that for mitt romney, huckabee and the rest of their ilk.
For true conservatives, the BEST thing that could happen would be for the ?republican? party to go the way of the whig party of the 19th century.
Sarah Palin is a breath of straight-talking, honest fresh air that could do much for the conservative movement. Sarah Palin has the "courage of her convictions" (and OURS) and is NOT afraid to say so.
It is no surprise that BOTH the "left" and the "pseudo-right" feel threatened by her. Look at john mccaines "operatives" that are STILL trashing her. She took more political and media harassment than she should have had to. I don't blame her for resigning as Alaska's governor.
Sarah Palin, IT IS TIME FOR A NEW (TRUE) CONSERVATIVE POLITICAL PARTY. LET'S GET THE BALL ROLLING.
