Obama Could Work for The New York Times

Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Back in 2008, New York Times correspondent David S. Rohde, along with Afghan reporter Taki Luden, were abducted in Pakistan by the Taliban. Because they felt it might adversely affect hostage rescue efforts, the Times requested a news black-out. The Associated Press and other news agencies respected the request and only broke the story recently, after Rohde and Luden had scaled a wall and made their escape. It would be nothing other than a story with a happy ending, except that the Times has time and again ignored the government’s requests that it not report the specific ways in which we were combating Islamic terrorists.

It’s enlightening to know that so far as the New York Times is concerned, censorship is not only moral, but mandatory, when the life of one of its employees might be at risk, but is not to be condoned when the lives of thousands of soldiers and civilians might hang in the balance.

However, when it comes to hypocrisy, the Times isn’t alone. For instance, when George W. Bush fired eight U.S. attorneys, the outrage voiced by the media would have had you believe that he’d personally ripped the Constitution into a thousand tiny pieces. Compare that to the silence that greeted Obama’s dismissal of Inspector General Gerald Walpin. It had been Walpin’s responsibility to oversee government-subsidized volunteer programs, such as AmeriCorps. Walpin’s team of investigators discovered serious irregularities at St. Hope, a California non-profit run by former NBA star Kevin Johnson. It seems that an $850,000 grant, which was supposed to go towards tutoring Sacramento students and supporting theater and art programs, instead was used to pad staff salaries, meddle in a local school board election and pay AmeriCorps members to perform personal services for Mr. Johnson, including washing his car.

When Walpin recommended that Johnson, an assistant and St. Hope, itself, be cut off from federal funds, he was fired by the president. Did I mention that Mr. Johnson is a friend and was an early supporter of Barack Obama? I guess you can take the man out of Chicago, but you can’t take Chicago out of the man. Not even when he’s sitting in the Oval Office.

Some of us have been puzzled by the personal animosity that Obama has shown towards those, like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, who oppose his radical left-wing agenda. Clearly, the man is so narcissistic and thin-skinned that he can’t conceal his contempt for anyone who doesn’t openly adore him. I don’t entirely blame him, though. Like a little brat who is never disciplined by his parents when he misbehaves, Obama is the inevitable result of a media that has mollycoddled him ever since he came on the scene.

Frankly, I can’t figure out what it is that people find admirable about the president. I, myself, was profoundly upset that he couldn’t even muster up a few inspirational words for those brave souls in Tehran who were standing up to the murderous mullahs and their hand puppet, Ahmadinejad. But, on further reflection, it occurred to me that maybe he just didn’t want Americans to get any funny ideas about freedom and liberty.

In fact, I found myself wondering if the spark that ignited the demonstrations in Iran wasn’t supplied by the example of democracy taking hold in nearby Iraq, in much the same way that the French revolution was inspired by our own.

Some people have suggested that the reason Obama kept silent during the popular uprising is because he is a Muslim. The truth is, I have no idea how much he was influenced by his early years in Indonesia or by the wish to please his absentee Islamic father. I figure it’s bad enough that he calls himself a Christian, but attended a racist church for his entire adult life, spending a thousand Sundays listening to a creepy minister heap curses on Jews, white Christians and America. While I don’t know what the man believes in his heart, I do know that he would have heard the exact same message if he’d been kneeling on a prayer mat for all those years in a Baghdad mosque.

It appears to me that Obama is bent on destroying our economy, our military and our missile defense system; while, at the same time, he promotes socialized medicine, hires a racist attorney general and nominates a Supreme Court nominee who parrots the party line of La Raza. This is a man who brags about nonexistent Muslim accomplishments, while taking every opportunity to denigrate America’s character, her sacrifices and her awe-inspiring achievements.

Ronald Reagan saw America as a shining city upon a hill. President Obama sees it as a slum that needs to be torn down as part of a massive reconstruction project.

If there were ever a site like Mt. Rushmore, dedicated not to heroic leaders, but rather to those who were unfaithful to their nation’s highest ideals, Barack Hussein Obama could take his rightful place alongside the likes of Vidkun Quisling, Henri Petain and Benedict Arnold.

The author spoke the truth. Watch how the liberal trolls set up straw men, label, and demean the author for his views.

Watch how many non facts, personal innuendos, and outright lies are published by the liberal trolls.

Excellent column. Dead on.

Burt

I love you and the trolls will be here spinning like Whirling Dervishes.

Great job. Carry on!

Burt
You have a gift and you use it well.
Thank you.

There is a reason why the NY Times wins awards
and is considered one of the greatest newspapers
in the world, and why Town Hall doesn't and isn't.

In addition, if there was nothing more to the
Walpin story than Obama doesn't like him, he
is one person, not eight. But there is more
to the Walpin story, isn't there. Why don't
you do some investigative work, and tell your
readers what it is.

A starting point might be, when did people
start complaining about him. And how many
people voted for his rersignation.

The Mighty Oballsless
Barak Hussein Oballsless is a POS... 'nough said, thanks for listening...

Beating Dr. Doogie
What a hate filled piece! Burt is all hate hate hate! He is a hatemonger! Everything he said is a lie! Hate! Hate! Hope! Change!

That 'site' is called The New York Times/ Newsweek/ Time/ ABC/ NBC/ CBS/ Take-your-pick!

You coulda tied your clincher into your lead, Bert. Pretty obvious!

"Ronald Reagan saw America as a shining city upon a hill. President Obama sees it as a slum that needs to be torn down as part of a massive reconstruction project."

The perfect dichotomy that also explains the general liberal and conservative views of the United States.

Superb column Bert!

"If there were ever a site like Mt. Rushmore, dedicated not to heroic leaders, but rather to those who were unfaithful to their nation’s highest ideals..."

Oh but there is Burt. On the backside of Thomas Jefferson at Rushmore. But then again, obambi isn't fit to be a boil on T.J.'s posterior. So never mind.

Amen!
Excellent piece--please run for President. :)

Wow! Great Article Burt!

Your analysis of Barack Obama is right on target!

All children have fantasies and think they are central to the World, most 'Grow Up' when reality sets in.

Barack Obama seems trapped in hopeless limbo, neither a child or an adult.

Even Joe Biden said at Easter time: 'Barack even thinks Easter is about him'.

BURT: ...."Obama is bent on destroying
our economy, our military and our missile defense......"
................................................................................................................................................

Could you repeat that? LOUDER, TOO.

................................................................................................................................................

While you're at it, call Republican leaders in the house and senate. Ask them to stand-up, walk to the podium and repeat those very words. What's stopping them?

................................................................................................................................................

Americans have died (some will die today) for their right to do so.
................................................................................................................................................

What's stopping Republican leaders from repeating Burt's words on the floor of the senate and the house?

NOTHING!

Obama Cold and Calculating Narcissist

Barack Obama revealed more of his 'cold and Calculating' ways, during the ABC special on ObamaCare June 24, 2009.

Barack Obama stated that Health Care costs could be dramatically reduced, if we didn't 'Waste Money' on those people who are terminally ill or whose 'Quality of Life' after treatment would not be very good.

To make his point, Barack Obama spoke of his elderly Grandmother, who fell and broke her hip after being diagnosed with Cancer.

Obama stated, "and the question was, does she get hip replacement surgery, even though she was fragile enough they were not sure how long she would last?"

Barack Obama stated that deciding when life begins is a question beyond "His Paygrade", but apparently when life should end, is within the province of Barack Obama and his appointees and employees.

Barack Obama will decide 'Quality of Life' and the value of that life.

This is reminiscent of the argumentation of Hitler and Goebbels, that 'Useless Eaters' should be removed as a 'Sacrifice for the Common Good'.

Hitler placed these people in 'Ovens and Gas Chambers', Barack Obama will simply deny medical aid and treatments, a slower and more painful death.

The goal, wittingly or unwittingly is to strip any vestige of humanity and dignity from the sufferers and those who love them and are devoted to them.

Barack Obama wants American Citizens to become as 'Cold and Calculating' as he is.

The 'Sacrifice for the Common Good' as prescribed by Barack Obama, is not only our 'Wealth, Health and Lives', but any semblance of character, morals or values.

Very good article Burt!
Very good article Burt,I just wish Kenya would come get their missing village idiot.

What Fools These Mortals Be
"Ronald Reagan saw America as a shining city upon a hill. President Obama sees it as a slum that needs to be torn down as part of a massive reconstruction project."

Every voter in America should read this column! Barack Hussein Obama is a complete disaster and many of us TH posters saw it coming. Liberal, and other retarded voters, should be required to read this column--but, wait, there's more: Their emotions for the idol cancel out any objective intelligence so what's the point?

Total meltdown: The investors who stupidly sent their life savings to Bernie Madoff and American voters who trusted their futures to a community organizer!

"Beam me up, Scotty, there's very little intelligent life in America today."

Tammy

Ever heard of Archibald Cox?

Walpin did not serve at the pleasure of Obama. He is an INDEPENDENT IG.

That means Obama must wait 30 days before notifying Congress of his wish to terminate an IG WITH CAUSE.

He broke the very law that, as a Senator, he supported.

And, the NYT might rest on its laurels, but it had to borrow 100s of MILLIONS in DOLLARS to stay out of bankruptcy court.

G-d, you are as dumb as a box of rocks.

I honestly believe that there is something in the water in Chicago. Evian spelled backwards, possibly?

Thanks Burt
Great article and many great posts. Thanks for speaking the truth.

Shame

Shame lol

Tammy
As you are an idiot, I'll try to break this down Barney style for you.

Comrade Barry broke the law in regards to Walpin.

Comrade Barry should be impeached by Congress.

But we both know this won't happen with a complicit Kongress Politboro on the Potomac as well as a Lapdog media.

The is ONE National Paper
Doesn't matter what city in which it originates, ALL the big city papers are just trash. Read great bloggers like this guy for the real news http://www.theblacksphere.net. You will be HOOKED after one read!

Note to Tammy
Turn off the alphabet news channels - only watch Fox where they REALLY report the news. Cancel your subscription to NYSlimes if you get it - they are so DEAD. In fact don't read any newspapers - they too are dead. Depend on the internet for your truth in news......and I don't mean HuffPost or whatever it's called.

Even better idea - read some history books (not the ones in schools now), read Burt's column every chance you get, read Dr. Sowell every chance you get. In short - EDUCATE yourself and stop blindly following the corrupt idiots in D.C. - both parties!!!!

GOOD NEWS
in Honduras this weekend.

The military tossed out a leftist pig who flew to Venezuela for asylum.

Leftist Government? Revolt? Hmmmm. Are WE getting a lesson from Honduras?

If tyrants like Chavez, Castro, Comrade Barry, and the UN condemn it, it MUST be a good thing.

GO HONDURAS GO!

I bet she went to public schools and must be young since she hasn't learned anything yet by experience. She is probably a good person that just hasn't learned to think critically. Sad thing is she may never learn like so many of the baby-boomers. God help us.

Funding a British rum maker. Must be that one of the libs has a huge bloc of stock with Capt Morgan.

Once again, liberals screw us.

Way to go Burt
What Obama is doing to this country needs to be shouted from the hilltops. As extreme as it sounds, likening him to Benedict Arnold is not a stretch. Burt has shown the kind of gumption that Repubs and even some Dems in Congress need to show. That day has to come soon, because our system of government is being dismantled on a daily basis.

Obama is doing FAR worse things than those things the libs falsely accused Bush of for eight years. Americans need to understand that they have unwittingly elected a thuggish, third world stlye politician who hates what America has stood for. Our freedoms will gradually erode, then virtually disappear if he gets his way with his agenda.

We need more Burts in the media and some courageous individuals in government to speak out against this tyrant in disguise. We can't be squeamish about being portrayed as lunatics by the lib media. Obama's agenda must be stopped. Americans need to be alerted to the great precipice we stand on. We are in danger of a calamitous fall and the waning, if not the end, of the American way.

To TeamNRA
What Burt has to say about Obama is nothing more than the truth. It might be raw and in-your-face, but what you libtards did to Reagan and Bush II is what's called "hate speech." See, there is a difference. Burt's rants are laced with the truth, libtard's rants are laced with lies. Get it?

Who luvs Obama .....

People who want to fulfill their illegitmate lust for power over others and control, but never self control.

It is sad that Walpin had to martyred, in a manner of speaking, to expose the Sail Eared Simpleton. But having listened to several of the gentlemen’s interviews, I am 100% POSITIVE that he will take it like a man. He hasn’t whined of complained, he just EXPSOED the Kenyan Coward and is willing to let the chips fall where they may.

NOW I REMEMBER! It was Tammy who said that she met her husband at the 68 Liberal Convention in Chicago. She said she was “turned on” by the way he picked a fight with the cops and then RAN AWAY like a Typical Liberal Coward. AHHH, those Cherished Liberal Values: Lying, Cheating, Cowardice, Addiction, Intoxication and Promiscuity.

Spot on Burt...
Once again, the truth has put a burr under the libtard's saddles. Why you hateful old man...how dare you upset our more sensitive and compassionate brethren?

Not to change the subject, but...Obama's Kenyan half-brother is still living in a hut and your icon is ignoring him. Do you know why? Because it might bring more scrutiny on his own citizenship status. Of course, to the libs, it wouldn't matter if Obama came from, ooh, I don't know...Vulcan? Who knows, I mean, he does have those strange ears. Ooops, sorry. That was hateful wasn't it?

Mr. Prelutsky:

Idiot Alert!
Most of these Liberal idiots supports the "Cap-n-Trade" bill, even though it is a regressive tax, fails to control pollution, and is an economic killer - both for the Country and for individuals.

They do not even realize that an Amendment to the 1300 page bill, entered at 3:00 AM, would require a FEDERAL inspection of their homes for energy effectiveness should they decide to sell it. Also, they would be FORCED to UPGRADE their houses prior to any sale.

So, much for the "AS IS, BY IS" language that I put in many of the contracts that I draft.

"USEFUL" Idiot? Their idiocy is beyond USELESS.

Right on Burt
You're my kind of "EXTREMIST?" Janet named us well. The Libs. are spinning and the New York Times is going down like the Titanic, none to soon I might add.

Double Standard at Work Again
Bush was pilloried in the press for firing eight US attorneys and Clinton wasn't when he fired a whole lot more.

Walkin is fired for doing his job and blowing the whistle on fraud. But, a whistle blower against an industry is lauded as a hero. Of course that the whistle was blown on an Obama buddy is what caused his demise.

Tammy:
The NY Times may have won many Pulitzer prizes, but it also allowed some real fraudulent stories to be printed. Manipulated truth is a lie no matter how you try to sugar coat it.

A Little Revision
"And, the NYT might rest on its laurels, but it had to borrow 100s of MILLIONS in DOLLARS to stay out of bankruptcy court."

So, line your birdcage or wrap your wish in an OLD (do not buy another) edition of the NYT.

Rasmussen has Barry's approval rate at ZERO!

haha.

The libturds elected a moron who is taking them DOWN!

MONTHS AGO I compared Obamatards to a stampeding herd of cattle. Cattle are basically steak with legs. Being that stupid, they are EASY to stampede. Say they are grazing in 3 foot tall grass near a constant water supply and you stampede them from there into an area of no grass or water. Eventually these Halfwit Herbivores will figure out that where they left is better than where they are and they will try to go back to where they were. THIS is where the Liberals are now and there isn’t a cutting horse on God’s Green Earth that will be able to stop the drift.

GO BURT GO!!
WOW! Keep it up, Burt! Somebody's gotta shout the truth from the housetops! You seem to be pretty good at it, and totally courageous!

I thought
When I read Burt's Headline that said Obama could work for NYT, I thought he meant he could write for them. But in order for Obama to write for them, he would have to sublet his writing to his buddy Ayers, who actually wrote Obamas "Audacity of Hope".

GunnyG

I am not surprised that the FT is labeling him a mouse because the Telegraph labelled him a "coward" over a week ago relative to Iran.

The Hondurans have taken over the government and kicked out their Lefty leader. He fled to Chavez's Venezuela.

Now, Hillary Clinton has "condemned" the actions ... of the revolutionaries.

Meddle here, meddle there, but not meddle here nor there.

Make up your mind, O. Could it be that the events in Honduras cut to close to the bone?

You Too can feel the Obama Partnership

"...That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't.
Barack Obama, Cairo Egypt, 2009

Here is an example of the Barack Obama partnership with Islam, based on true Islam.
--------------------------------------------------

"DHAKA June 29, 2009: A widow was whipped 202 times and a man 101 times following a fatwa by a religious leader for their alleged involvement in "anti-social activity" in a village in southeastern Bangladesh, prompting local protests and action by the police.

Piara Begum, a widow of 40, and Mamun Miah, 25, were whipped before hundreds of people at Khaiyar in Comilla district Saturday night.

The woman fell unconscious and was rushed to hospital. Doctors said she was critically injured and needed to be given intensive treatment.

Miah was whipped 101 times, The Daily Star newspaper said Monday.

Punishment under a fatwa is held illegal as per a high court ruling of 2001 in Bangladesh that has a predominant Sunni Muslim population.

The police arrested six people, including Moulana Mohammed Manirul Islam, a religious leader working in the local madrassa.

Piara Begum filed a case with the Debidwar police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act."

On Islam: So what you're saying is that an Islamic country outlawed this kind of barbarism, and that the people responsible were subsequently arrested? I'm not so sure this proves what you intended it to prove.

On Honduras: As I understand it, Zelaya was ousted in a military coup. Was there any question of legitimacy?

If not, that's a pretty clear-cut thing to condemn; generals simply shouldn't be allowed to assume power. In Iran, setting aside the fact that both sides hate us, things are a little murkier. We're not even sure the hard-liners lost.

Another great one!!!! Right on the mark!

The Dollar Falls, Again

The Federal Reserve has inflated the interest rate by over 9%. Countries around the Globe are buying gold or other investments OUTSIDE OF THE USA.

All because of the Government's INSANE spending, borrowing and printing.

I'm not an economist, but I'm not sure that absolute share value means anything in terms of company value. After all [share value]*[number of shares] = [total], so they could simply have had a lot of stock splits.

That said, low stock value doesn't say much about journalistic merit, either, because people read trash. Look at the top 5 Read stories on Fox, or even the "serious" BBC. They're dominated by cute or touching anecdotes, or sordid details about some celebrity.

Refreshing your browser.
------------------------
1) If you are Microsoft Internet Explorer - that is the main culprit. MS products are only good for basic usage.

2) Ram memory is very inexpensive now and you should install as much as your computer can hold.

3) If you do not know the operating system on your computer, press the button near or at, the bottom left of your keyboard that has the MS window logo - a pop up screen will appear that has a vertical text bar with either NO system name or the name of your operating system - no name probably means 'Vista'. This is important because some systems will only use a limited amount of RAM memory no matter how much you install.

Fire Fox3 is a replacement Internet Web browser for MSIE and is free. (cheap huh?) no catches no strings attached.

The largest thread I have posted on at TH was a Coulter column with 1017 comments - I had four other tabs open at three different websites.

Refreshing all four took about 5 or 6 seconds.

A new version is in Beta testing that has already proven to be twice as fast as the one I am using.

Here is the link for the always and forever free download.

Hell of a lot filler, dude. Substantively, your column contains two specific complaints, one of which is about Obama. The rest is conjecture or good old-fashioned insults. Way to challenge your readership.

And re: Walpin, apparently his board of directors had a problem with him, and relayed it to the White House. It doesn't sound much like Obama woke up in the morning and said, "I think I'll crush someone who crossed me today."

Hal Donahue's statement to me, speaking of himself of course, at 9:25 am in response to my acknowledgment to willibeaux that I had heard from other military posters on this site as well the account willibeaux related of a dust-up Hal had while still on active duty in the USAF with a southern pilot at Shaw AFB in which that pilot threatened to do his OWN kind of "reconstructive surgery" on Hal's face: "You folks smear the honest service of a military veteran with lies and innuendos; this is so very classic a demonstration of conservative respect for the troops and military".

In other words, Hal makes his own person indistinguishable from the entire U.S. military establishment - in much the same way that tyrants throughout history have made their own persons indistinguishable from the state.

And, I guess, the fact that I have thanked MANY a military poster on this site for his/her service in our armed forces (such as Retired Geek, ExRCSD Deputy, Baron in WA, Joel De-Oppresso Liber, USPatriot56, etc.), as in fact have MANY other conservatives who post to this site, demonstrates NOTHING to Hal as far as the respect conservatives have toward our military. Nope, HIS test of respect is your willingness to bow at HIS own feet.

Now you see yet ANOTHER reason I don't respond to him directly. I don't see how one can have constructive dialogue with someone with such arrogance.

My Apologies To Rocks

Is "gravel" acceptable?

Retired Geek, St. Denis et al Redux
Now dig the Bard of Scranton's reply to my prior post:

"Utter rubbish I will not knowingly allow lies about my military service. This is a classic reactionary tactic to discredit or to silence the messenger. Guess what I am a military veteran you lie about ANY veteran's service you insult and denigrate every veteran's service. This is classic extremism. Put up or shut up.

"..And, I guess, the fact that I have thanked MANY a military poster on this site for his/her service in our armed forces... demonstrates NOTHING to Hal as far as the respect conservatives have toward our military. Nope, HIS test of respect is your willingness to bow at HIS own feet."

No it is showing respect to the service of EVERY military veteran for their honorable service. Attack me with all the lies you want but do not expect me to sit quietly while you do so like some weak conservative. You are disgusting and thank you again for demonstrating how conservatives only want to use veterans. Now go out and shop with your yellow ribbon".

Again, the law, that then Senator Obama supported, requires a 30-day cooling off perior BEFORE a President can go to the Congress and alert it of his/her determination to terminate an IG FOR CAUSE.

This was not done and Obama broke the law.

Note to Town Hall Posters

Town Hall is primarily funded by advertisers - linking to their sites causes most of the slowness you experience. I have given tips and documented problems with the site from time to time and the programmers at TH have shown great responses to me - they care.

here are some tips to the posters:

Here is the link for the always and forever free download.

http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/

If you are not very computer literate, don't be afraid just follow the directions and it should install easily and without problems.

Standshisground
I don't want to get between you and Hal, but I would like to point out that conservatives frequently do assume that disrespect for a veteran or active service member is somehow traitorous disregard for the entire armed forces.

Consider the flap over Barbara Boxer asking a general to call her "Senator" not...what, two weeks ago? I'm not accusing you of personal hypocrisy, but it wasn't treated as an act of purely personal self-aggrandizement. TH and FoxNation both considered it a "typical" liberal affront to the military.

Hal, bless his heart, was just committing the classic mistake of responding to a specific person by assuming that they hold all the opinions common to their ideological persuasion.

As for whatever other beef you have with him, I'll MMOB.

More On Honduras - I
"Reaction to the apparent coup was swift. U.S. President Barack Obama said he was “deeply concerned” and called on all political actors in Honduras to “respect democratic norms, the rule of law and the tenets of the Inter-American Democratic Charter. Any existing tensions and disputes must be resolved peacefully through dialogue free from any outside interference,” he said.

The Obama administration worked in recent days to prevent President Zelaya’s ouster, a senior U.S. official said. The State Department, in particular, communicated to Honduran officials on the ground that President Obama wouldn’t support any non-democratic transfer of power in the Central American country.

“We had some indication” that a move against Mr. Zelaya was a foot, said a U.S. official briefed on the diplomacy. “We made it clear it was something we didn’t support.”

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined Mr. Obama Sunday in criticizing the Honduran coup and calling for the restoration of the democratic process.

“We call on all parties in Honduras to respect the constitutional order and the rule of law, to reaffirm their democratic vocation, and to commit themselves to resolve political disputes peacefully and through dialogue,” Mrs. Clinton said in a statement.

More On Honduras - II
"...In a nutshell, Zelaya wanted another term as president so he decided to hold a popular referendum on whether he should be eligible. Minor problem: The Honduran constitution can’t be amended by popular referendum so the country’s supreme court ordered the vote canceled. Zelaya tried to go ahead with it anyway. Literally every other arm of the Honduran government — judiciary, legislature, military — was against him, to the point where the troops who arrested him this morning were evidently acting on a court order. Why such strong, unified opposition? According to one retired Honduran general cited by Fausta, it’s because Zelaya’s a Chavez stooge and him staying on would mean “Chavez would eventually be running Honduras by proxy.” Two questions, then. One: In their rush to drool all over themselves about “the rule of law,” do Obama and Hillary realize that it’s Zelaya who was flouting the rule of law here? The White House proved with Iran that they’re capable of maintaining very tactful silences for excruciatingly long periods of time. Yet today we’ve got not only the secretary of state but the president himself rushing out statements. Is this some kind of half-assed attempt to make nice with Chavez now that relations have been restored by supporting one of his cronies? What am I missing here?"

According to the Wall Street Journal (hardly a liberal propaganda machine) the Inspectors General Reform Act requires not a 30-day cooling-off period, but 30 days of notice before firing. Obama gave said notice.

I'm not sure if calling an employee and saying "Look, we're going to fire you, so if you want to resign and save face you can" is corrupt or illegal.

Standshisground et al

Military service to our country is noble and to be commended.

What one does after leaving the military by retiring or other Honorable discharge - does NOT mitigate future conduct.

Hal Donahue and Obama's Mentor Jeremiah Wright are good examples of America haters that once served their Country.

Many slackers were 'Lifers' when I was in the Military and many others liked a life where everything was provided for them, even being told when to shower and shave.

Never the less, they performed their duties and are to be commended for their service.

I respect the service they performed but once they are out they have to earn again any Honor or respect like anyone else.

I had a black drill Sergeant that I hated so much, I actually contemplated going after him when I got out. The day I graduated from his training - he shook my hand and said "Congratulations son, you came here a boy and you are leaving a man."

Well long story short, we became friends and corresponded with each other over twenty years until his death.

Now he was a man I respected after service.

How many Hollywood Libtards have spoken GLOWINGLY about Castro' s Cuba and the like, but they haul a$$ back to Malibu, Bevery Hills, etc rather than live in such a place.

Tell Me Why...
As i was driving around Ann Arbor this weekend, I noticed it was almost hard to white a typical white american. There were Asians, Indians, Arabs and a host of others. It brought me to thinking this: So if America is this evil, inferior country that Obama and the libs are going around the world apologizing and the trying to change our constitution because we are such a diverse culture now, why, oh why, would all these people around the world leave their homes to live here?

Nyar

When did it give notice? The IG received an email and many in Congress were caught unaware.

"I'm not sure if calling an employee and saying "Look, we're going to fire you, so if you want to resign and save face you can" is corrupt or illegal."

How about both since corruption is ILLEGAL?

Denis
I actually didn't know all this; thanks for the post. It sounds as if Zelaya violated the Constitution, which lends support to the conservatives.

That said, however, could he have been impeached? Was a coup necessary? My Honduran law's a little rusty.

Standshisground et al

A story about my Drill Sergeant.

He called me out one day in front of the whole Company and said:

"Well, I guess you are proud of yourself when you came within one shot of tying the Post record. You should consider what I have to face - the boy with his head so far up his a**, that I chose to represent me and the rest of us, couldn't make just two more shots and make us all proud.

Know I have to face my peers and try and explain this?"

I wanted to attack him right then and there in front of everyone.

In the end, He did more to influence and impact my life in more positive ways than any other man has since.

Obama response to Iran
I actually think Mr. Obama has handled his responses to the Iran uprising just fine. A measured tone is appropriate for the president. I have no problem with that. I also have no problem with others (people and congressmen speaking out as they have).

Besides it being appropriate on his part, there's an added benefit perhaps: The dinnerjacket STILL accused him of meddling. It should be his opportunity to see that it has nothing to do with how charming you are. So maybe he'll learn something the easy way (instead of actually trying to engage them and get embarrassed).

It must be a problem for liberals though, to see that part (making Obama the new enemy--hard to square with their Bush bashing).
I think their position will be head-in-the-sand (it's THEIR problem). They really are in denial when it comes to thugs. Look at their Che Guevara t-shirts and tell me they care about people getting shot in the streets.

As John Wayne said to Forrest Tucker in the movie Chisum, "I don't fancy talking to vermin, but I'll talk to you just this once."

You said, "Guess what I am a military veteran you lie about ANY veteran's service you insult and denigrate every veteran's service".

Well, in case you're only just now sobering up, it isn't ME (or even St. Denis) who's "lying" about your service record, it's your OWN FELLOW ARMED FORCES VETERANS! On O'Reilly's thread yesterday, who was it that first mentioned the incident involving you at Shaw AFB? It wasn't ME, in case you were too schnockered to be able to read your computer screen, it was willibeaux. And willibeaux isn't the FIRST service veteran I've seen on TH who's mentioned this aspect of your biography. It also wasn't ME (OR St. Denis) who put out the story on this site about how you were nearly cashiered from the USAF for making homosexual advances to enlisted personnel. I've already identified one such claimant: Gray Ghost. And, again, he isn't the ONLY ex-serviceman to put out on this site this account. So if you have a problem with these aspects of your service record being out in the public domain, then take THAT up with the military conservatives who have put out this information.

As far as whether my supposedly lying about your service record is an insult to ALL military veterans: suppose I ask such people as GunnyG and MyOpine and Joel De-Oppresso Liber and Retired Geek, just to name a few of the many currently-serving or ex-military conservatives who come to this site, about that and see if THEY feel insulted by my supposedly slighting you. Want to take a guess on whether they'll agree with you? Unless, of course, you want to call ALL military conservatives here who question your record a "phony soldier". Do you?

Since you said, "I will not knowingly allow lies about my military service": well then, WHY DON'T YOU TRY SUING ME FOR LIBEL?!

AL
Perhaps because the US is exceptionally wealthy, and life here is relatively peaceful and comfortable, with abundant consumer goods and services?

Most people are just trying to make a living, and we're very prosperous. That doesn't say a whole lot about our moral character and whether we're somehow noble or admirable as a people.

1. Apparently, Obama sent letters to the Speaker/President of the House/Senate on 6/11, with notice that Walpin was to be fired in 30 days. They're on ABCNews.com, but I hope you don't think they fabricated them outright.

2. Your conclusion assumes that the firing would have been invalid; if so, then threats forcing resignation aren't kosher. As I said, however, the CNCS BoD apparently referred Walpin for review, so there might have been a legitimate problem with his performance.

"Inspectors General Reform Act requires not a 30-day cooling-off period, but 30 days of notice before firing. Obama gave said notice."

Comrade Barry notified Walpin? Really?

Well according to the bill, as posted on Open Congress, Comrade Dopey needed to give notice in WRITING, which he cannot provide NOW...because he did not give it.

Sec. 3) Requires the President, the heads of designated federal entities, the Librarian of Congress, the Capitol Police Board, and the Public Printer to communicate to Congress in writing the reasons for removing or transferring an IG no later than 30 days before such removal or transfer.

Now I WONDER when Congress will vote to impeach Barry for breaking the law.

Why bother LMAO You don't matter.

BO could never work for the NY Times
Or any other private organization. He would have to prove, as required by federal law, that he was a citizen or otherwise had the right to work in the US.

He would have to produce a real birth certificate showing the place or birth, etc. not a "short form" certificate available to non-citizens. He would also have to produce other documentation proving his claim.

Instead, he has spent millions to prevent the release of any records which might show where he was actually born. If his story was true would he spend millions trying to prevent it from being verified?

All his actions since he seized office are illegal if he is not qualified to hold the office.

Sorry, but I can't bring myself to respect Hal Donahue's military service, in just the same I can't bring myself to respect John Kerry's or John Murtha's.

If Kerry hadn't smeared his fellow veterans upon returning from Vietnam, I'd respect his service even though I disagree with his politics. But his testimony before Congress impugned his fellow veterans who were NOT guilty on any misconduct in Vietnam - and his clear implication in the 2004 presidential campaign that those currently serving in the Iraq War were there because they were too dumb to do something else cinched my disregard for his "service". In the same way, Murtha's smear of our troops in Iraq over Abu Ghraib and Haditha likewise cinched my disregard for HIS time in our military. Murtha knew better - yet he let liberal politics, as did Kerry, as does Hal Donahue, trump all other considerations. And there's absolutely no way I'll tender respect for THAT.

And regarding my disregard for Hal Donahue's claimed service record: well, I'm in a LOT of company in that. I'm not sure there's even ONE currently-serving or ex-military conservative who posts to this site who doesn't believe that Hal is lying big-time about his record. If the people who ought to know best think his record isn't worthy of the respect Hal demands, then why should I?

There are PLENTY of liberals who come to this site who served in the military. The difference between them and Hal is that THEY don't cast aspersions on the military service of the conservatives who post here even when they vehemently disagree with their politics. But Hal routinely smears military conservatives who post here because they disagree with him and questions THEIR records.

At one time, Benedict Arnold was a bona-fide military hero. But how is he best remembered today: for his sterling military record at one time in his life or as the traitor he became?

"2. Your conclusion assumes that the firing would have been invalid; if so, then threats forcing resignation aren't kosher."

It does not matter what my assumption is. To date, there has been NO allegation that he was fired FOR CAUSE. There is plenty of evidence that suggests the firing was due to his discovery of the corruption of Kevin Johnson. Notice that only 50% of the money was voluntarily repaid.

"As I said, however, the CNCS BoD apparently referred Walpin for review, so there might have been a legitimate problem with his performance."

Their overall nature is too much intervention," said Alberto Ramos, senior Latin America economist for the Goldman Sachs investment firm. "It's not going to put Argentina on a crash course, but it is a story about growing inefficiencies and increasingly autocratic management."

The Kirchners' problems have also "gone beyond substance to style," Ramos said. "They're very confrontational and stubborn: It's all or nothing, and they'd prefer to break rather than bend. People have gotten disenchanted with that."

Fernandez's approval rating tumbled to 29 percent this year after a four-month standoff over export taxes with Argentina's powerful farm sector. Actually I feel more insulted that Hal has ever served in the military. Are you certain that this is true? The Kiss army doesn’t count you know. Maybe he was in the Army of Darkness; he does have that Deadite smell (you know a mix of dirty socks, rotten eggs and decomposition).

Of course there was this one liberal I knew in basic training. He didn’t understand what he had signed up for and realizing that he didn't like being in the army, he began a deliberate campaign to collect as many Article 15s he could. He thought that doing this would get him thrown out. When I graduated he was still stuck doing CQ duty and was scheduled to restart basic the next cycle.

Sorry to offend; I didn't assume that you'd necessarily object on the basis of source. As GunnyG illustrates, however, that's a common response, so I suppose I was just trying to head it off, if you offered it. Which you didn't.

Anyway, I think we're citing different facts. Are you under the impression that Walpin was actually, formally removed from office? I'm doing some Web searches, and all I can see was that he was suspended 6/11, with intent to be fired, and subsequently resigned. Hence, 6/11 certainly is 30 days' notice, since the actual firing didn't happen and presumably wouldn't have before 7/11.

As for cause, I have to admit that I just don't know enough on this point without doing more reading. I'm sure we agree that no one should ever make resounding factual claims without actually knowing anything.

Anyway, thanks for being civilized.

Yes, I too thought that was a very interesting dichotomy on Hal Donahue's part: on the one hand, to claim that I don't matter, while on the other hand he devotes no small effort to trying to refute the posts of such a person.

But I guess when you're in an addled state that's chemically induced, it's easy to see alleged mosquitos as raptors.

A web of lies
I’ve been investigating this story regarding Gerald Walpin. What I found was quite disturbing and all you really need to do is read the Sacramento Bee. St. Hope Academy was Mayor Johnson baby which was first investigated for misuse of public funds from a federal government Education Grant. Allegations that were revealed in an e-mails may have been destroyed were disclosed in an April resignation letter from the group's former executive director, which was obtained by The Sacramento Bee. In his resignation letter, Rick Maya read the 11 page resignation letter here: (http://media.sacbee.com/smedia/2009/05/19/18/resignation.letters.bee.request.source.prod_affiliate.4.pdf) said a member of the charter schools' board deleted Johnson's e-mails while the academy was under federal subpoena for misspending money it had received under the AmeriCorps program.

Add DC Chancellor Michelle Rhee who was appointed by DC Mayor Adrian Fenty June 12, 2007 and D.C. Public Schools, which is a district numbering 50,000 students and 144 schools. In the Mayor’s search for a change agent for schools in the District, experts in education recommended Ms. Rhee, even though she lacked the experience and who had already transformed many urban public school systems through her work with The New Teacher Project (TNTP). Michelle Rhee also happens to be Kevin Johnson’s girlfriend. Ms. Rhee was paid by Mr. Johnson as a board member. Who paid her salary? Who pays for her travel to and from Sacramento? Was that money used to pay for the long distance canoodling?

When will all this corruption stop? They are liars and at least very deceitful. There is seemingly always a skeleton deep within Johnson's closet. Johnson or his posse have been accused of a range of misdeeds, from inappropriate behavior with girls to misuse of hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal grants.

Every Republican, every traditional American, every conservative should read it. This is not the time to be timid. Obama, on the other hand, loves it. Timid news reporting, acting timid to other heads of state. That's Obama. Jimmy Carter adores this guy.

Enlisted in Oct 1978.

Went to boot Aug 79.

I can tell you firsthand that the morale was lower than BJ Bubba's morals. We had gear in the inventory dating back to the FIFTIES! (Jeeps, gamma goats, etc.)

We rejoiced when Reagan won.

"Jimmy Carter adores this guy."

Because he'll replace peanuthead as the worst potus in our history.

Since I'm a life-long civilian, I can't claim certain knowledge about whether Hal Donahue has ever been, or never been, in the U.S. military.

In point of fact, in the time I've been posting to this site, I've seen NUMEROUS currently-serving or ex-military conservatives who post to this site who have indeed questioned whether Hal Donahue was EVER in the U.S. armed forces, or who believe that if he ever WAS in the armed forces, it wasn't AMERICA'S armed forces, since Hal's claimed to have worn the uniforms of at least two other countries, supposedly while still on active duty in the USAF.

That's why, whenever I refer to Hal's military service in a post I submit on this site, I'll often preface it with the words "claimed" or "supposed" or "presumed".

The ONLY reason, in fact, why I'm willing to believe that Hal Donahue ever WAS in the USAF AT ALL is that many of the military conservatives who post here accept it as a fact, even if they don't necessarily accept all or even most of his claims about his military record - and if these folks think so, that's good enough for me.

But in the time I've been coming here, it's quite clear to me that there is by no means a unanimous consensus among all the currently-serving and ex-military posters who come to this site that Hal Donahue having been in the USAF is an established fact.

JUST FOR FUN I !

JUST FOR FUN !

I know many of you can top my meager offerings, but how about a fun thing?

Update archaic quotes to today' verbiage?

I offer a few in the following...

Does this not describe the changes in our world?

~~~
John Donne, born centuries too early, might say today,
"No man is a Continent unto his self-ish Master, George sora$$."
~~~

Jean paul Sartre might write,

"The Egalitarians have reduced us all to swine."

~~~
Marie Antoinette, might expound,
"Let them all eat Caca."
~~~

Julius Ceasar might say,

"You dirty, Backstabbing SOB."

~~~
Cleopatra might say,
"Ouch, dang, ouch. That stings!"
~~~

Hamlet might soliloquize, as he holds the Original Constitution of The USA,

" Alas, poor 'your rights', I never knew them at all..."

~
It doth appear, that many, back then, had proclivities toward kissing other males...

Translation...

" Funny jerk, rear entry, puked a few times from the alternative... "

~~~
Lady macbeth, now as a Whitehouse Maid,might say,
" Out, out damn spot, out! "
~~~

Leave us not forget, "A Horse, a horse, My kingdom for a horse!"

Today...

"A whorse, a whorse, I gave my Kingdom for a whorse."

[ TH, if you delete this, I will rephrase it in words you will not comprehend. ]

And, another thing, my few readers will know, and you will not.

Actually
we owe Benedict Arnold an apology..after all he
was an AMERICAN, we have no proof the person occupying the White House IS a Natural Born Citizen and by the efforts he's making to hide the truth, the money he's spending to hide the truth and the intimidation tactics he's using to hide the truth..I think we know the truth but we have treacherous, cowardly elected
fools who won't do anything to discover that truth..except John Kyl who consulted SNOPES and
pronounced it truth.

Hey, thanks! Third times a charm.

I breezed by that news earlier this morning seeing the word 'Argentina' and figured it was more noise about the Sanford drama.

I'm just waiting for 'Those Shirts' to come out with something fitting about the New Haven case so I can walk around the Acme and dare people to say something negative about it.

The days of quietly accepting the deferental treatment of individuals based on the color of their skin are over for me...the days of in-your-face confrontation have just begun.

I believe in Equal Opportunity...I don't believe in 'equal results'.

The Marines & AF wanted me BAD in that same time period. I talked to a buddy who had enlisted 1 year before. He told in the STRONGEST possible terms to STAY OUT.

JUST FOR FUN PART II !

JUST FOR FUN II !

~~~
From the Battle of Mobile Bay,
"Damn the tordedoes. Full speed ahead!"
Today,
"Dang those tory peters, what will the Press say?"
~~~
MaCarthur,

" I shall return !"

Today, "Next time, have your butt clean."

~~~
Battle of Manila bay...
"You may fire when ready, Gridley."
Today,
" You may fire when ready, Gridlock! "
~~~

John Paul Jones,

"I have not yet begun to fight!"

Today,

"I ain't yet begun my flight."

"Don't cry for me Argentina...

I know many of you out there can best me on these spoofs.

Show me your stuff !

Why don't you check these names out:

"It's called credibility."

Are you seriously suggesting that we may disregard facts reported by organizations who seem ideologically biased or even connected to a certain political party?

If so, are you equally suspicious of all of Fox News and Townhall's political reporting?
