Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

There are major differences between liberals and conservatives, and that’s why I never know what people such as Barack Obama are talking about when they speak of bringing us all together. And I suspect that Jeremiah Wright’s surrogate son doesn’t know, either.

For instance, if I support the surge in Iraq and you insist on bringing the troops home by next Thursday, what’s our compromise? Bringing our troops only partway home? Say as far as the Canary Islands?

If you’re in favor of same-sex marriages and I happen to think the whole idea is a very silly joke, where’s our common ground? Doing away with opposite-sex marriages?

If I believe in capital punishment and you don’t, what constitutes a midway point between our positions? Only executing convicted killers whose last names start with the letters between A and M?

One of the most unpleasant things about liberals is the way they tend to place the politicians they endorse on pedestals. Frankly, I have never understood this phenomenon. How is it that so many people turn into besotted teenagers once they decide to vote for someone?

I’m not saying that I don’t like some politicians more than others. I like those who vote the way I want them to and I dislike the ones who don’t. But when you get right down to it, most politicians on either side of the aisle are pretty mediocre human beings. What is their great accomplishment, after all? These are people who have devoted their lives to convincing other people to hand over their hard-earned money so that they can get or keep a job that essentially consists of spending other people’s tax dollars. Often enough to keep the tabloid press occupied, these palookas are caught taking bribes, using drugs and getting involved in sex scandals. In other words, they often behave like the rock stars they aspire to be, even though they can’t sing, cavort around a stage or play a musical instrument.

Politicians, unlike cops, firemen and members of the military, are not called upon to do anything dangerous, heroic or the least bit self-sacrificial. Instead, they build up fiefdoms on your tax dollars, go on junkets around the world, receive the sort of health care only millionaires can dream of and the sort of pensions no working stiff can even imagine.

If they deign to place their names on ghost-written books, millions of you will rush out to buy them, and if they manage to give a speech, also ghost-written, that doesn’t put everyone into a coma, they’re hailed as great orators.

I swear, when I see the ladies gazing up at Hillary Clinton, adoration shining in their eyes, or at the hordes of born-again left-wingers gathered to watch Barack Obama transform water into whine, I feel grateful that I don’t know any of them.

It’s not because I’m a conservative that I haven’t mentioned John McCain. For one thing, most Republicans have no illusions about him. Many of them will vote for him in November for one very good reason; namely, that their blood runs cold at the mere thought of either Democrat being the next commander-in-chief. For another thing, conservatives tend to be realists, and just about the only politician who really excites them is Ronald Reagan, and he’s been dead since 2004.

I don’t happen to think it’s a coincidence that left-wingers are much more juvenile than conservatives when it comes to making idols of politicians. As psychiatrist Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr., points out in his new book, “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness,” liberals are very much “like spoiled, angry children. They rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from the cradle to the grave.”

For over 35 years, Dr. Rossiter has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients and examined nearly 3,000 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. Regarding the sort of liberalism being espoused by Obama, Clinton and their devout worshippers, he states: “A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity, as liberals do. A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population, as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation’s citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state, as liberals do.”

Dr. Rossiter goes on to say that the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization; satisfying infantile claims of entitlement, indulgence and compensation; augmenting primitive feelings of envy; rejecting the sovereignty of the individual and subordinating him to the will of the government.”

Take that, Hillary and Barack! Take that Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi! Take that, Harry Reid and Charles Schumer, Chris Matthews and Barbara Boxer! Take that, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, Keith Olbermann and John Murtha!

In summation, Dr. Rossiter writes: “When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious.”

At the risk of burying you all in psychological jargon, suffice to say that the good doctor agrees with my own diagnosis: Liberals are cuckoos.

Careful, now.
If the Demwits go nuts when we question their patriotism, imagine how guilty they'll feel when we question their sanity. We have known forever, a liberal has a stunted intellectual maturity. But they will throw their toys at us, and throw a tantrum if we point it out to them.

Now ,Burt
Now Burt, you know the Democrats idea of compromise means 'agree with us'. Have you ever know them to come over to our side? Of course not.

I do not long to be 'brought together' with Godless,soul-less people. I need to look in the mirror ,occasionally, and to sleep at night.

I have not yet bought their 'bill of goods',although one of our candidates has, sorry to say.

I agree with Mr. Prelutski
Leftist tend to idololize those whose philosophies they agree with and demonize those who occupy the other side of the fence. Bush hatred has reached epidemic proportions and caused a loss of all reason. Conservative don't like him either because of all the appeasement to the left he has conducted while in office. Yet, despite all the appeasement, the left still hates him. It is an illness.

skywalker81
I call it the 'Bush-hatred syndrome'.It colors everything some Democrats say and do.Whatever happens for the next decade, will be laid at his feet.Unless it is something positive.

BDS
The first symptom of Mad Cow.
Perhaps they should by quarantined and put down like other non sentients with diseases that threaten humans.

The last Hurrah of the right
The right's vanguard led by GW and the Republican party has led this nation to ruin. And Burt calls liberals insane.

Burt
You do have a delightful way with words.

No BHL The shrink called you liberals insane,
Burt called you cuckoo's which is an apt description.

Bleeding Heart Liberal --
"The right's vanguard led by GW and the Republican party has led this nation to ruin."

What else would you expect from trying to out-liberal the Democrats?

Ronal Reagan
"...left-wingers are much more juvenile than conservatives when it comes to making idols of politicians."

To the Communist(D)
compromise means the Republicans come over to us and most of the Republicans have done that over the past 20 years. The have become either Democrat-Lite or Democrat whole.

The latest example of the turncoat sell-outs is Newt. Note this example of him as he had already signed on to the AGW fraud. Now he is making commercials with Albore. McLame is a lost cause.

We need a new party.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0308/9268.html

BLH
You're confusing Bush and the republicans with conservatives. I geuss it's an honest mistake if you don't pay attention.

VIC2
Forming a new party will go one of two ways:

It will not get enough support to be a blip on the radar or it will take enough conservatives from the [R] party to hand victory to the Dems for at least 20 years.

With that much time at their present rate, all opposing politacal parties will be outlawed. For the children, you know.Gotta protect them from pesky ideas like freedom.

Best way to go is reform the Republicam party, purge the dem lite deadwood both elected and RNC members. We'd still have an opposing party in place while we fix things and limit damage.

jic
It will only result in Dem wins if everyone signs on to the defeatism.

VIC2,,jic
The primaries indicated, to me at least, that the Reagan majority was exactly that. A majority of voters who despised Carter and preferred Reagan. They didn't do it because they were conservatives, or did any great amount of thinking. They knew Carter was a loser, almost any GOP candidate would have beat him. The 70 plus percent of voters who polled as disliking cheap amnesty for illegal aliens apparently made no connection to the candidates or their stands on illegal aliens. I have no idea who or what will win in November. I think they are all incompetent and hard economic times for Joe Mortgage, who is living on his next paycheck are inevitable. He will blame whichever party is in the WH and vote against them for another 20 years or more. To restore any ascendency of conservative American values, the Judeo/Christian principles of responsibility, self-reliance, education, and hard work seems impossible as deliberately selected principle. It may be possible by painful recollection of the party that proclaims opposite values.

Idol Worship
Left-wingers are more prone to worshipping their leaders because they reject religion and have nothing better to worship.

Look at what they choose: Karl Marx, Stalin, Kim Jong II, Castro, Noam Chomsky, Obama...

And they so desperately want leaders to tell them what to do, not representatives to enact the people's will.

Inspired Column
Burt,

Very funny. Bits of truth wrapped in sparkling words.

LIKE ELIOT SPITZER
On his uber liberal pigsty the other night, Bill Maher announced that the Patriot Act was really designed to take down Democratic leaders.
Like Eliot Spitzer.
The FBI, according to Maher, was investigating Spitzer under the auspices of the Patriot Act and as soon as they - the FBI- found out Spitzer was seeing prostitutes, "they should have left him alone."
Yeah. So he could be blackmaile.d
Yeah. So he could have been pressured into either avoiding investigations or put pressure on lawmakers or influence to pass legislation or acts beneficial to his blackmailers.
When guest Robert Klein chimed in with something about Larry Craig, Maher angrily retorted "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, that was something else."
Under his 'New Rules' segment, he alluded to the fact that televisions at gas pumps should be showing pornography if he was going to be paying $4.00 a gallon. "So everyone in the country knows we are getting f@#ked in the a@@."
Much to the consternation of his 'openly gay' field reporter sitting to his right in his muscle shirt and skin tight jeans.
Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal.

Cause and Effect...
The parents must come back into the building and run our country. For too long, the politicians have pandered to theories that history shows, do not work (socialism, communism, political correctness, etc) No discipline at school? No one gets a wack anymore. There is no civility, because people aren't aware of how dangerous it is to poke a stick at the tiger in the zoo. All you enlighten pinheads need to shut up, quit your whining and let responsible adults run the show (and maybe fix the mess we are in) George Bush and the repub congress let me (and our country) down, entirely. Shame on repubs that our demmed the democrats.

Republican Derangement Syndrome.
It doesn't matter who the POTUS is if it's not a Democrat. It's not really BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome). It's RDS Republican Derangement Syndrome.

Democrats just cannot seem to function unless they're running the show in its entirety. THAT's why their idea of compromise is doing it their way or not at all, and at all times putting their lust for power ahead of the good of the country. (For an example their intractable stand on illegal immigration, designed for nothing else but to gain voters at the cost of American sovereignty).

You have to understand that to a Democrat, there is no introspection, no compromise, no sense of fair play, and they feel absolutely no obligation to abide by the same standards of conduct, ethics and morality they place on everyone else. Facts are ignored or they change the subject. (Just look at bleeding heart liberal's first post.)

When Dems lie, it's "misspeaking," but Republicans LIE.

When Dems engage in illicit sexual activity - ala Frank, Clinton, Studds, etc., It's their "private lives," yet guys like Thomas and Packwood are vilified and in the case of Packeood, drummed out of office. These rules don't apply to neoliberals, because in their little peabrains, they're oh so superior to us.

Look at the neolibs who constantly post on here - Beastie, Hal/Robert, Lilly, bleeding heart liberal, et al - and you have to wonder if they'd have lived as long as they have without the government carrying their bags all their life.

Our problem is not that they exist. Our problem is that we nurture stupidity and give it credence by acknowledging the utter idiocy emanating from their flapping yaps. Before the boomers, they were treated like noisy little kids who hang around adults to get attention. They were patted on the head and told to sit down and shut up.

Obama
Obama is the product of genetic Black Nationalism , cultivated by Democrats to pose as the VP selection under Clinton. But the strategy backfired, much to the distress of the "establishment" in the Clinton controlled Democratic party. How did this happen?

First, the Democrats would sell their mothers to gain the Whitehouse – as exemplified by their betrayal of the nation by undermining our military with their anti-war, anti-Bush rhetoric that encouraged our enemies and their sell-out to the homosexuals to gain their endorsement. Second, the Democrats underestimate the negative aspects of Clinton's record – and her passing on Bill's sexual indiscretions in the Opal Office!

The Democrats are endorsing Black Nationalism with its thesis of Black Theology that is anti-white and holds that Christ is served by resorting to violence to put in place the Black agenda! Obama who preaches unison does in fact endorses division as evidenced by his support of Pastor Wright. He is articulate and proves the truth that there is nothing more dangerous in nature that a brilliant mind with bad ideas. What are those bad ideas? Surrendering in Iraq, raising taxes and embracing the homosexual agenda. Democrats can thank Howard Dean for this travesty.

I been sayin it
As the guy considered crazy in the movie *Independence Day* said when the alien spacecraft appeared, I BEEN SAYIN IT! HAVENT I BEEN SAYIN IT?

As one who grew up in the 1960s and has been tarred with the brush of the small, deeply disturbed group of Hippie Scum worshipped and idolized by the Left, I have lived 42 years under the aegis of screaming, kicking, flailing babies whose demands are for instant satisfaction and indulgnce with no consequences -- and even more infuriating, with no effort. Although we grownups who were at Universary to get an education, not to get drunk, use drugs, pee in the Presidents waste basket and scream dirty words, even our generational Hippie Scum could focus for an entire day at a time. Todays Generation White can manage only an Earth HOUR, and once it was over, they believed their work was done and on came the lights. They want to save the Earth without relinquishing their hard-earned Binkies.

I been sayin it.

Politicians on Pedestals?
"One of the most unpleasant things about liberals is the way they tend to place the politicians they endorse on pedestals."

Well does the invoking of the name Ronald Reagan in every Republican stump speech and every Fox News segment ring a bell?

Burt
Another EXCELLENT COLUMN!!!!!

Term limits
It's obvious to me, at least, the only way "we the people" will ever take our government from the hands of the career criminals, (congress), is to demand term limits for all elected officials, and judges. Next, "we the people" must demand and end to the lobby. Then, and only then, will America return to the way the founders intended. Congress, much like the military, was meant to be service to America, not a career.

Burt
You big Palooka! What are you trying to say here? That the lefty whining nut jobs are cuckoos? I thing you may get a reaction from them! What do ya think?
5 stars again!~

The Pot Calling The Kettle
“But when you get right down to it, most politicians on either side of the aisle are pretty mediocre human beings.”

As opposed to mediocre columnists that no one has ever heard of and who writes like a fifth grader.

Well Mr. Prelutsky, you seem to feel so smugly that you can separate the wheat from the chaff. Well upon doing so , I find you only leave us with chaff.

Bob_C
To your point about liberals lacking any sense of introspection, compromise, or fair play:

Famous liberals (those in politics, media, and entertainment) tend to believe that, solely because of their noteriety, they are entitled to be heard when they speak on politics, human nature, international relations, national security, morals, etc. And the people who idolize them buy it hook, line, and sinker. We owe them their right to speak publically and pontificate on whatever issue seems important. They also have a monopoly on moral superiority because theirs is obviously the only moral position. Any deviation from their position is obviously irrational and, thus, can be disregarded out of hand.

That's why you have so many well-known liberals holding such out-of-step views. Only a very few want Abortion on Demand, Gay privileges, draconian gun laws, higher taxes, a welfare state, AND acquiescence to the UN and other international bodies. But they are the ones who get the airtime.

Compromise or Solution?
“If you’re in favor of same-sex marriages and I happen to think the whole idea is a very silly joke, where’s our common ground? Doing away with opposite-sex marriages?”

How about this solution (not compromise): Government grants civil marriage rights, regardless of sex, to couples. While religions retain the right to decide the definition of a couple in religious marriages.

Isn’t that more of a conservative idea and more in keeping with the concept of separation church and state, and extending freedoms, and governing based on reason and facts?

Maybe liberals idolize
their politicians because they don't have a real God to worship.

Just goes to prove that we humans have an inherent need to worship something bigger than ourselves. Since liberals believe there is nothing bigger than Homo sapiens, it stands to reason they would worship one.

News from People's Republic of MA
A blurb in our Boston paper today noted that a legislative committee here in our One-Party Democracy is recommending a gas tax hike of 11.3 cents-per-gallon to make up an anticipated $1.3 billion revenue deficit (this with gasoline already over $3 a gallon). One column over, there is a report of yet more activists demanding yet more money for this program and that program--and the sad part is, they'll probably get it.

This is what's in store for all of us if Hillary or Obama get in this November.

One can only be thankful that (1) Massachusetts is so far outside the political mainstream of the rest of the country and (2) it has nothing to say about foreign policy. Oh where are John Hancock and the Adams cousins when we need them?

burt
"In summation, Dr. Rossiter writes: “When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious.”

LMAO Burt, Burt come on read the above slowly again...sounds an awful lot like you folks and "Islamofascism" and "illegal immigrants" and "gay marriage" and talk about the ultimate "victim" look at the NRA fools repeating they are coming to take our guns away...tada, tada

Correct quote, wrong target, were you looking in a mirror when you wrote this blog?

"At the risk of burying you all in psychological jargon, suffice to say that the good doctor agrees with my own diagnosis: Liberals are cuckoos. "

Hmmm what nonsense but if we are comparing fowl I was thinking you folks were chickenhawks as a flock but that isn't correct the DODO pretty much sums up your dying ilk and "philosopy". All I can say is it has taken far too long

Burt
Love your article. With BO being the most liberal senator I have been wondering also just how he is going to "reach" across the aisle. It's a con game. There can be no middle with the most far left senator and conservatives.

He stated just the other day that he will make sure a woman's "right to privacy" is kept in the constitution. As if it was ever there in the first place.

So, how does a liberal president like Obama reach across the aisle and make a compromise about abortion? Do we split the baby in half? Part of it goes on the trash heap, the other goes somewhere else?

Peppermint2
"It's a con game. There can be no middle with the most far left senator and conservatives."

and how many what you call "real conservatives" are going to be across that aisle? Not many at all I wager a tiny dying minority

"So, how does a liberal president like Obama reach across the aisle and make a compromise about abortion? "

I think you already know the answer, the American people do..

Blood Lust Versus Sanctity of Life
“If I believe in capital punishment and you don’t, what constitutes a midway point between our positions? Only executing convicted killers whose last names start with the letters between A and M?”

And how about this as solution (not compromise). How about revisiting the criminal/justice industry in America, which has now propelled our nation into the largest incarcerator in the world with one of the higher execution rates. And give emphasis to rehabilitation versus caging?

Would it not be consistent (I know “consistency” is a bogyman to right wing zealots, but it is actually a true conservative value) to while discarding frozen embryos rather than entrust them to medical research, and pushing to criminalize abortion (only to push women to go out of country or into some dark alley), to consider the sanctity of human life of a caged criminal who has the opportunity to atone?

Daily Kos/Moveon.org
want to see an example of crazy left wingers? If the Democrats fail this cycle these lemmings are likely to jump into the sea... BDS has made them stark raving nuts...

Democrats and Socialism
Every post in Bert's column is correct except for those people with their brain south of their skull who disagree. Power is the only concept Democrats comprehend. The safety of our country matters not one whit to the professional, political, Democrat parasite.

Their postion of power is the only thing on their mind. They will destroy our military and surrender to our enemies round the world. They will tax every citizen who earns a paycheck and tax corporations into bankrurtcy to finance their socialism.

They are allowing the Social Security system, Medicare and Medicaid entitlements bankrupt our country. The most frightening thing about this scenario is there are millions of Americans of the same mindset.

Or are they left over from the American Revolution and not really Americans? Maybe the people on the receiving end of the entitlements do not carea about our country either.

Thank you,
....Burt, for a great start to my Monday!

On a side note, I went to our local mega bookstore to purchase Dr. Rossiter's "The Liberal Mind". Unable to find it in neither the political nor the psychology sections, I enquired from a salesperson if they could find it for me. After a search on the store's computer, it showed two copies....in the HUMOR section. Conspiracy, maybe???

Five Stars!!!!!

Psychology of Conservatives
“As psychiatrist Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr., points out in his new book, “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness,” liberals are very much “like spoiled, angry children. They rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from the cradle to the grave.””

Well as John Dean mentions in his book, “Conservatives Without Conscience”, there has been much psychological studies of conservatives as well, that shows they are inordinately led by daddy figures and seems to have a need to gravitate to authority figures. They resist or are unable to change their beliefs, even in the light of overwhelming evidence. And they have an inordinate need to see themselves as more deserving than the community at large.

But then, isn’t there much to be said on both sides? Apparently Mr. Prelutsky doesn’t think so as long as he can push out this divisive drivel, which makes no attempt to address our real issues or bring us together as a nation to solve our common problems.

Stormrunnar
Stormy says, "And give emphasis to rehabilitation versus caging?"

Rehabilitation assumes habilitation in the first place.

Oh, those Democrats..............
BP only chastises the liberal Democrat instead of making the broad sweep by including our liberal Republican brethren. Lest we not forget, it was the liberal RNC and RSCC that foisted four social liberals on the conservative base of the Republican Party, three of which were LGBT Republican attorneys, and frontloaded the primary system one year in advance which left us with the liberal Republican, John McCain. If only the United States could be more like the EU and Scandanavia, this is where the cultural Marxists within the both political parties wish to take the United States.

Ideology Trumps Science
In Swedish 'Gender' Research
January 17, 2008 - American Thinker writer Arvid Bortz, a Swedish resident, recently penned a commentary on the extent to which political correctness has trumped science in Swedish "gender" research.

Bortz observes: "Gender research publications in Sweden are used by the massive welfare state to rule out all norms of human behavior and declare 'obsolete' all traditional morals and ethics. They call their research 'science' and then ridicule all opponents of feminism, 'diversity,' and 'gender equality' as ignoramuses denying the findings of science. Social engineering backed by a substantial portion of the Swedish GDP is reworking the basic institutions of human life and reproduction."

The National Secretariat of Gender Research was established in 1998 in Sweden and its purpose is to produce materials that "prove" that no differences exist between men and women. According to Bortz, these gender researchers "say that the very concept of sex is completely made up by old cultural and social evil conservative norms, which have [the] sole purpose of suppressing all women in society."

"Well as John Dean mentions in his book"

You mean John Wesley Dean, the LAWYER? Yeah, I'm gonna take him seriously.

Liberals
What I have seen is that liberals come in two categories; those who wish to control others and those who are too stupid to exist on planet earth.

Too late you folks are already doing that have you looked at the readiness status of our units?

" They will tax every citizen who earns a paycheck and tax corporations into bankrurtcy to finance their socialism."

and you keep running up debts you cannot pay. Then you deadbeats wonder why the dollar is crashing - duh!

"They are allowing the Social Security system, Medicare and Medicaid entitlements bankrupt our country."

Iraq is already doing that isn't it?

"..Revolution and not really Americans? Maybe the people on the receiving end of the entitlements do not carea about our country either. "

you mean like Halliburton, drug companies, finance companies and huge farming conglomerates? It certainly seems right they don't seem to care at all

SSGT, Vic
Good morning!

Vic: scathing, but sadly true.

SSGT: Hope the sn*w stayed away. I wish Curtal was here to read the threads.....too funny!!!

;-)

Stormrunner............
what you've just cited as conservative behavior is actually LGBT behavior, more specifically, OCPD. Those who understand the LGBT personality recognize projection for what it is, whereas others address it as HPD and PAPD, by its actual nomenclature.

We know, Hal that we can't wait for the Islamofascists to take over our country. But with our waiting on gay marriage to be approved in ALL states I am afraid that you and me will have no where to hide once we are "united as one forever."

hugs and kisses, dear

Good morning YLG & Vic and all others...
I see Hal the doofus is here already this morning proving every word of Burt's article.

YLG
A hearty good morning to you!

Man, the moonbats are out today!

Hal/Robert
Hal/Robert writes: "you mean like Halliburton, drug companies, finance companies and huge farming conglomerates? It certainly seems right they don't seem to care at all"

At least all those folks PRODUCE something, unlike the government, which is nothing more than overhead - a collossal drain on the economy that wastes far more than helps.

YLG
Good morning deary!
I saw Curtal over on Adams earlier! Some doofus was rattling his cage! I think he is holding his own, though!
The "S" word is not here today! 59* for a high! yippee!

Burt the Victim
Poor Burt, he thinks: "But when you get right down to it, most politicians on either side of the aisle are pretty mediocre human beings."

So Burt's afraid liberals idolize their candidates but seems not to notice that he demonizes his. He says they're all just in it for the (taxpayer) money, they're building fiefdoms.

What an utterly illogical piece. No surprise, but still.

BobC Happy Jake
You guys nailed it. They impose upon others standards that they themselves cannot come close to adhereing to. \
BobC you forgot to mention how when Scooter Libby couldn't remember stuff and Tim Russert couldn't who got the perjury, obstructing justice shitt kicked out of him, career ruined. Mmm, those double standards are impossible to live up to, aren't they?

stormrunner writes:
'How about this solution (not compromise): Government grants civil marriage rights, regardless of sex, to couples. While religions retain the right to decide the definition of a couple in religious marriages.'

How about this solution the government gets out of the business of issuing any document regarding marriage. Let the churches perform the marriage ceremony and let the government simply record the record.

Hal D
Hey buddy, when you gonna answer my question:

Did your KKK business cards have apicture of Robert "Sheets" Byrd on them as your mascot/logo??

What about the war on poverty - you dems have done a pretty good job at that haven't you? No?

Idol Worship Gone Bad
Great points! Liberals worship their demigods; however, they practice idol coups when someone more "godly" comes along. They've drained Hillary of all she's worth and now they are dismantling her piece by piece with the prospects of a glorious Obama reign.

Your comments about the "reaching across the aisle" lies are right on. Some issues will never be agreed on.

Hal
you cant say anything about haliburton because Bill Clinton gave them no bid contracts first.

Don't you remember our talk the other day, honey?

McCain - Commander in Chief and endorsed by President Bush.

President Bush will be appointed secretary of State

YLG/SSGT/BmanIII/All
Good morning on a cold rainy dreary day here. It just put me in a foul mood because I was ready for spring and I got cold rain instead. Sort of reminds me of the primaries. I was ready for a real conservative and got Mclame instead.

stormrunner
I can't fathom why you are against the death penalty. It is done in a clean, sterile environment and they don't feel anything. I mean, if you outlaw it, we will just be back to the days of "back alley" executions. I think that the Constitution allows convicted murderers the right to privacy, so they should not feel any shame in having their executions carried out in a healthy, nurturing, non-judgmental environment. Are you against prisoner's rights? Do you want to set this country back 50 years and keep the prisoners "barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen"?

An incredible observation.......yet, so
true.......

Liberals
What I have seen is that liberals come in two categories; those who wish to control others and those who are too stupid to exist on planet earth........regardless of the profession or academic achievement.

s-runner
See how ridiculous your position is now? You support the killing of innocent babies but not the execution of convicted killers. Maybe when you people get off of your blood lust for the killing of babies we can talk about the sanctity of life. Until then, you have absolutely no moral grounds upon which to stand.

LMAO
YLG, SSGT, BMAN, and all the other wingnust:

I will save a spot for each of you in my next seminar. I will help each of you connect with your inner gilrs.

LIBERAL ELECTS KINGS
Liberals don't believe in limited government. When a liberal votes for a politician, they are selected a supreme leader to rule over us. They worship anybody they elect is if they were a messiah.

Vic
I feel for ya! Its not raining yet, but its gonna by days end. Dreary, breezy, but in the 50's today and tomorrow. Its half way to spring!

In The Name Of Unity - Ptooey!
Isn't "in the name of unity" the reason why we're stuck with John McCain? The Republican Machine wants us to compromise our conservative values, get amnesia about his record and vote for him (while he promises to be something he's not) "in the name of unity." It's like Obama doing the unity dance (sorry, I haven't heard Clinton say she'll unite us). Compromise in the name of unity means do what the other person wants and like it or lump it.

It's like being married.

Townhall Coward writes:
"The right wing here just keeps on giving...you are not as good as BrianR and another person...but your grasp on reality is about as well...rooted..."

You've got to love it when the #1 occupant of the dream world, ala "Walter Mitty", comments on other's grasp of "reality".

Hahahahaha!

insanity defined
Liberals think their big-government, moral relativism, anti-religious policies are 'new' and 'progressive' but they are in fact the opposite.

Whats worse is they have led to *horrible conditions* in every country they are implemented in. Go ask Michael Moore why Fidel did not get care from the WONDERFUL Cuban Health care, but instead saw a US educated doctor in France?

Of course the leftists of today ignore centuries showing these idiotic policies and their failures and claim that somehow they will produce different results THIS time.

Thats insanity.

duude! morning!
For fear that Joaquina will make an unscheduled stop near my throat, I cannot respond to the usual suspects until further notice. Its a shame, cause haldoofus really needs a good swift kick in the rumpussss. So, I will just sit here and watch you and Curtal and the others give them those kicks.

SSGT
It's in the 40s here and just quit raining, and about to start back.

Reasons
Regardless of what MTB's [McCain True Believers] say, there is only one reason to support Senator McCain for POTUS: He is not a Democrat. While he may not be a Democrat, he certainly acts and votes like one.

All these columns that talk about his character and integrity are way off the mark. He certainly served in Vietnam, but his public and private actions since have shown that he has neither character nor integrity. Checking his voting record and actions over the past 8 years show that he is left wing, certainly as much as Senator Clinton; though not as much as Senator Obama. Where ever you look you find unethical actions, lies [although that can pretty much be said of all politicans], backstabbing, and other tyrannical actions.

Still, he is not running under the Democrat label.

Otis
Please get a new post. Your redundent posting is getting old.

For your information, Joaquina is taking the day off from this and any other thread.....

She will resume her duties after 5:00 PM.

So, have at it. What she doesn't know, won't hurt you.

;-)

Yuck Vic
it'll be warm soon! Opening day at the new Progressive Park today! Thats a good sign!

Robert
Thanks for the comparison to BrianR and "that other person"

It was really a compliment.

Did you ever take him up on his offer?
Didn't think so.

So how are those night patrols going over in - well, where ever you think you are today?

John McCain - Commander in Chief and endorsed by George Bush...

So the Keating 5 scandal is being brought back up huh?

Amusing...
The number of liberals who spend inordinate amounts of time arguing on these boards... well, arguing isn't really the right term, they mostly toss out bits of their "wisdom" consisting mostly of "your guy's worst than my guy" or "everyone is doing it" and other 8-year-old intellect...

Robert
I apreciate your posts. HOwever, I think you might benefit from my seminar as well. You will doubltless have a great deal to offer the class as well as benefit yourself.

Let out your inner girl!

Our global warming has a bunch of snow headed to minnesota. Ive heard 8 inches today by some...I certainly hope for less.

It is about human nature
And whether or not one understands the dichotomy of good and evil, nobility and cruelty, selflessness and self-centeredness, and all those consequences, intended and unintended. To the extent that understanding of these things is flawed, ignored, or nonexistent, actions and words will diverge from what is best for everyone and focus on what is deemed more valuable to the self, regardless of consequences or affiliation.

Good morning all!

Burt got it right. We have never had any ingtention of voting for Hillary or Barack Hussein Obama because they are liberal loons. The Wright stories and the now published Hillary lies all the time are just icing on the cake.

My list of outed Hillary lies is now too many words to be accepted on here. Wow!

Joaquina is taking the day off! Good news for sure.
And as far as Produce goes, think

Purple Onions?
Cabbage? shredded of course
String Beans?

haldoofus
you know hal, im doing this seminar on rehabilitating liberals. We teach them how to connect with their brain. Your story is getting a bit old eh?

What about Newt?

Produce something??? but the price is pure welfare kills competition and subsidizes -- that is real welfare LMAO

Burt's Burps
"It’s not because I’m a conservative that I haven’t mentioned John McCain. For one thing, most Republicans have no illusions about him. Many of them will vote for him in November for one very good reason; namely, that their blood runs cold at the mere thought of either Democrat being the next commander-in-chief."

I like many things about McCain, but him as C-I-C, or even worse Mitt, is just too scary, for the US and for the world. How could any serious C-I-C, after the pictures of mangled dead Iraqi children, joke about bombing Iran, or talk like he would run as Bush's third term? Bush as C-I-C, will take the US centuries to recover from.

Hal the piglet

Re Newt
Perhaps he hasn't read enough about globull warming. I'll try to send him the report Dr. Singer and company posted recently.

The report, titled, "Nature, Not Human Activity, Rules the Climate," "shows conclusively that the human greenhouse gas contribution to current warming is insignificant" and "Empirical evidence suggests very strongly that the main cause of warming and cooling on a decadal scale derives from solar activity..."

If you get the time, watch this show on Frontline about Bush's War.

Besides this show, the long list of Generals and officers Bush has left disenchanted should be telling.

PBS? They lost me after Bill Moyer.

Rowly & Skywalker
I was watching a movie review by the local limp-wristed Chicago Tribune critic. He was reviewing the new movie "21." At the beginning of his review, he said that he hadn't been to Las Vegas since Bush first "snuck into office." So even 8 years later, an obscure, unimportant movie reviewer is still obsessed with Bush and hates him. Not to mention the pepetuation of the lie that Bush stole the election or didn't win it. These juveniles are mentally ill. And critics still claim that their personal views don't cloud their reviews while embracing every anti-american, anti-business, anti-conservative film.

Only execute those with last names A-M. Funny stuff, Burt.

Picture this 527 video
Soft music in the background “ America the Beautiful”.
Sound plays : Reverend Wright screaming “God Damn America, God Damn America”

On the screen you hear the planes zeroing in on the towers, people on the street looking up and screaming. Now you see the towers engulfed in flames, Americans jumping from the burning buildings to avoid the flames and to their deaths. People on the street terrorized, running, screaming, stopping, lifting up total strangers and dragging them along. Firefighters running up the stairs carrying all their equipment on their backs. Knowing this is their duty as Americans.
Finally: Family members of the victims standing on street corners
clutching photo of their missing family members. Have you seen this person ?
Final scene : Construction workers and firefighters raising the American flag amidst the rubble.
All the while Pastor Wright is screaming above the soft music of America the Beautiful "God Damn America, God Damn America, The chickens have come home to roost".

Obama " Don't tell me words don't matter".
Narrator: The words you have heard are spoken from the pulpit of Barak Obama’a church of 20 years. These words are from his pastor and mentor. Would you trust Barak’s judgement to become Commander in Chief of this great nation ?

With the government recording the marriage the record is official. A marriage that fails has the official record for any law action. Your question about the Church being a legal court has nothing to do with what I wrote.

The separation of church and state has a lot to do with the government NOT is
