Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Some of President Obama's policies are not faring well in public opinion, but will anyone be told? On Feb. 2, a Gallup poll found that Obama's executive order "allowing U.S. funding for overseas family planning organizations that provide abortion" was decidedly unpopular: Only 35 percent approved, while 58 percent disapproved.

You didn't know this? You're not alone: A Nexis survey finds none of the television networks, cable or broadcast, noticed these results, either.

The Gallup survey found overwhelming approval for other Obama policies -- on higher fuel efficiency standards, on restricting lobbyists from joining his administration, on interrogating suspects according to the Army Field Manual, and on naming special envoys for Afghanistan and Pakistan -- so there is plenty of good news for the administration.

But why not report the negative news as well?

Barack Obama is the most extreme pro-abortion president in history. He supports the Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA), which would provide unlimited, unrestricted taxpayer funding of abortion. Only 9 percent of the public agrees with him. It is so surprise, then, that Obama would not want the media talking about his executive order supporting subsidies for international abortionists.

And they didn't. CBS and NBC noted it in a single sentence. ABC later offered a story, but incredibly chose to focus on the theme that religious-right forces were "brutal" in their opposition

Then there is the public concern over the potential dangers of Guantanamo terror suspects being released or moved into American prisons. The media ought to acknowledge that despite their tubthumping on Bush's allegedly horrendous record on detainees and how it was hurting our reputation with the Europeans, Bush was not as unpopular on this policy at home as they wanted him to be. According to that same Gallup survey, ordering the Guantanamo Bay prison for terrorist suspects closed within a year wasn't popular, either: 44 percent approved, 50 percent disapproved.

The media are not ignoring all the troubling Gallup poll results for Obama. The number that most of the networks noticed was on the biggest story, the so-called "stimulus" plan. When Gallup asked if Congress should pass Obama's plan as proposed, make major changes to it or reject it, only 38 percent said it should pass as proposed, while 37 percent said major changes should be made first, and 17 percent said it should be rejected.

On Feb. 3, CBS, CNN and Fox News all passed along those numbers. CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson announced: "More than half of Americans say Congress should make big changes to the president's stimulus package or reject it all together. And Republicans detect a chink in the armor." CNN analyst David Gergen lamented: "I don't think they anticipated was how effective the Republicans and the critics would be in picking it apart." Appearing as a guest on the "NewsHour" on PBS, Sen. John Thune also spread the number, even if the anchors and reporters there hadn't announced it.

ABC ignored the survey that night as if it wasn't important. Worse yet, NBC went into damage control mode for the administration.

Over on MSNBC that night, poll results that discouraged Obama were not very welcome. On Keith Olbermann's "Countdown," liberal analyst Craig Crawford mentioned this poll result very vaguely, like it was a spreading venereal disease.

But on "Hardball," Chris Matthews strangely suggested new Gallup polls showed Obama should move faster on his plans: "Just three weeks ago, 83 percent of Americans approved of the way Barack Obama was handling his job as president-elect. Now, amid some tough decisions President Obama, in the new USA Today/Gallup poll, [is] down to a still groovy, but not still heavenly, 63 percent job approval, which translates to a 19-point drop in three weeks. Message from Ben Franklin: In order to get some things done, Mr. President, a stitch in time saves nine."

On her show that evening, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow used Gallup Poll results just like all her MoveOn.org and Daily Kos fans would demand. Armed with a new survey of 2008 voters showing Democrats with an eight-point advantage in party identification, Maddow insisted the Republicans in Washington should not be humored. They should be crushed: "We've got a really big crisis in our hands as a country. Is it really that important to bend over backwards to try to make the Republicans in Congress happy right now?"

Don't count on this new Gallup poll getting much play: While 48 percent say the media coverage of Obama is about right in tone, only 11 percent say it's too tough, while 38 percent said it's not tough enough. Expect that 38 percent number to grow if the media keeps hiding the poll results they don't like.

Nice of you to try
but this not new. The Bush Administration was critiqued with insanely inaccurate retoric by the biased media. The campaign was reported exactly the same way with all liberal favor all the time.
Should we expect anything different?

The MSM will own the ruin of our country by the socialists as much as the Dems.

New WALL ST. JOURNAL/NBC POLL!!

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds STRONG PUBLIC SUPPORT for President-elect Obama’s stimulus plans and broad disapproval for conservative desires to give tax breaks to big businesses. Some highlights:

– “Asked whether Republicans in Congress should do everything to stand firm for their party’s principles and oppose the legislation, or look to compromise with the Obama administration, 68% of Republicans and independents chose compromise, with 20% picking standing firm.”

– “By a nearly 2-to-1 ratio, people preferred government spending to create jobs over tax cuts to give Americans more money to spend. Large majorities endorsed many details in the plan, with 89% saying they like the idea of creating jobs through increasing production of renewable energy and making public buildings more energy efficient.”

– “The survey listed areas where Mr. Obama could potentially be seen as going “too far.” The only one where a majority of people registered concern was with providing aid to corporations facing bankruptcy.”

New CNN Poll!
PRESIDENT OBAMA'S JOB APPROVAL RATING

(most recent poll, from Real Clear Politics website)

CNN (02/07 - 02/08) = 76% approval / 23% disapproval

NOT TOO SHABBY.

You say tomato, I say...
Bozell complains about the media's cherry-picking. His answer? Cherry-picking in the other direction.. Let's look at the facts: 1. Gallup positioned it's poll as saying that "75% of Americans favor some form of stimulus". 2. The Gallup folks put out a poll 2 days later stating that 52% of Americans "support the Obama stimulus" while 38% oppose it.... The first poll was a general question on the idea of a stimulus. The second poll is specific to the house version. Most polls indicate support in the low 50% FOR the dems stimulus. Most polls peg opposition to the stimulus in the 30's..Rasmussen is the outlier poll. They worded the question in a loaded fashion. This is flushed out at fivethirtyeight.com ...Bozell's CORRECT about the abortion question with some limit. CNN DID mention that the abortion move was not as popular as the others (Gitmo closing, torture abolishment,etc)..

lieshurt
no, it wasnt tomato, it was potatoe. a republican reads an incorrect answer off an answer sheet at a spelling bee, and i know you will never admit it, but you would have made the same mistake, and the corrupt media and the honor-less democrats endlessly calumize him, make sport of his very insignificant mistake, and drive him from the public scene. that is what media and their accomplices the democrats are about. the politics of personal destruction, adopted by the democrats pet thugs the california sodomists, the nationwide abortion criminals, the national media, the welfare lobby, and the democratic party. there is nothing about you that has anything to do with the truth.

New Gallup Poll!
February 9, 2009

Obama Has Upper Hand in Stimulus Fight

Obama’s 67% approval rating on the stimulus is more than twice that of Republicans

PRINCETON, NJ -- The American public gives President Barack Obama a strong 67% approval rating for the way in which he is handling the government's efforts to pass an economic stimulus bill, while the Democrats and, in particular, the Republicans in Congress receive much lower approval ratings of 48% and 31%, respectively.

These findings, based on Gallup Poll interviews conducted Feb. 6-7, underscore the degree to which Obama appears to be maintaining the upper hand over his opponents from a public opinion perspective as he and congressional leaders wrangle over the precise form and substance of a new economic stimulus plan.

Obama and "Family Planning"
"The Evil One"'s family policy is nothing other than killing of the innocent.
This piece of **** only wants to "decrease the surface population" regardless of the consequences.
All the other policies he and the Demoncrats espoused will come back to haunt him especially when he goes back on his word and/or when the Sheeple begin to realize how inept he and the Demoncrats really are.
Hopefully this happens real soon.
What a bunch of EVIL we now have in power.

Bozell:
When all else fails, bring up the abortion issue.

And let's face it, everything else is failing
for the Republicans.

MMaddox
Doesn't it embarrass you to mention MSM when
talk radio, not to mention Fox "News" is so
profoundly right wing.

We've Been Subverted
Yuri Bezmenov, in a 1985 interview, gave the steps by which a society is subverted.

McCandlish Phillips, in 1970, wrote the following. "The first step in the satanic takeover of a nation is to draw the people away from faith in God and in His Word. The next stage is to increase them steadily in the indulgence of sin. The third stage is to lead them into false worship and false supernaturalism. The final stage is usually to bring them under dictatorship. We are in the third stage now."

Ann Coulter in "Godless" page 152 wrote: It’s very important for the Democrats to control the public schools. John Dewey, the founder of public education in America, said, “You can’t make Socialists out of individualists – children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming, where everyone is interdependent.” You also can’t make socialists out of people who can read, which is probably why Democrats think the public schools have nearly achieved Aristotelian perfection. For Lenin it was “Give me you four-year-olds, and in a generation I will build a Socialist state.” For Hitler it was “Let me control the textbooks and I will control the state.” For the Democrats it’s “Let us control the schools and in a generation no one will be able to read.”

We've Been Subverted 2
Before the election, I emailed my profile of Barack Obama - A Vet Looks at Barack Obama to dozens of news organization and MSM individuals. It was totally ignored. That's when I realized how totally dedicated the MSM was to the leftist takeover of the United States. The press had been subverted.

So, the schools had been subverted, the press had been subverted, the culture has a whole had been subverted. Brent Bozell has written extensively on the subversion of our culture by Hollywood.

The Christian Church has been subverted. We, as Christians have allowed Dispensational teaching, and the desire for our own comfort, to render us powerless to act as salt and light in this society. I don't know how many times I've heard. "It has to get worse" because of last days prophecy teaching.

The Lord, in the last few days has been dealing with me about praying for Barack Obama and not just about him. I'd like to suggest Kimberly Daniels published prayer as a model.
http://www.charismamag.com/index.php/prophetic-insight/1825 0-a-prayer-for-barack-obama

God's prescription for the reversal of this subversion, for the healing of our nation, is given in 2 Chronicles 7:14. It's addressed to His people, who are called by His name. It isn't criticism, or even political activism. It's repentance, prayer, and fasting.

William
"It’s very important for the Democrats to control the public schools."

***

This is not quite an accurate statement. Nor
is the follow up sentences. What is important
to Democrats is to SUPPORT public education.
I never in my life thought that I would live
to see the day in my country - land of the
free and the brave - that public education is
no longer supported by a large segment of
the population. This is truly a travesty.
It is truly an outrage. And if it continues
it could be the end of our greatness.

And just for the record, if you haven't already discovered that we are all inter-
dependent and have been from the beginning
of time, then you need some more education
yourself. No man is an Island, in spite of
what you may think.

William
"We, as Christians have allowed Dispensational teaching"

Ahem. The constitution allows dispensational
teaching. If you can't handle such freedoms,
perhaps you would be happier in another country.

BETWyan....
That post was outstanding. I'm still laughing. Way to tell it like it is.

Grateful for our Freedom
Tammy has a way of twisting what we conservatives say to justify her own liberalism, so I thought I'd respond. I usually try to avoid responding to the trolls, but:

I'm grateful for the freedom we have in this nation. I'm grateful for web sites like this where we can freely express our thoughts. I'm grateful for the Christian heritage we have which is the foundation for this freedom. I'm grateful for Rush Limbaugh and to others who express truth each day. I'm grateful to a God who has been good to me and to my family.

I'm not grateful for people who, under the guise of tolerance, and separation of church and state, and social responsibility, and fairness, and political correctness are trying to rob this nation of its freedom. I'm not grateful for an educational system that teaches our children that there is no God, that there is no truth, and that the United States has always been a horrible oppressor and destroyer of other nations and this planet's resources.

I'm not grateful for a government that believes that it needs to impose equality of outcome on each individual in this nation by 'sharing the wealth'. I'm not grateful for Marxism, Socialism, Athiesm, and other isms that promise a utopia on this earth but actually serve only to undermine our freedom.

To all in Calif and Illinois.....
Thanks UNC Doc - just doing my best to wake up the drones who got conned by a marketing strategy who uses his "race" (really lack of a race, since the moron is bi-racial).

Anyone in California, Illinois, New York should be stripped of citizenship due to their brain-dead, corrupt, DNC machine politics. The "Chicago Way"! Rigging elections, payoffs and voter fraud. Yep, that's impressive.

California: allow millions of illegal aliens into your state, let them gain political power through numbers and now you can't do crap to eradicate the problem. They run up education and healthcare costs astronomically. Duh.

Hussein Osama used voter fraud, registration fraud, donations from foreigners (illegal) and a butt-kissing MSM to get elected.

What's his great message? Class envy! OMG that's too funny! The losers in life will lap that up, just like they watch Oprah daily while they stuff the faces with junk food.

You can call Hussein a socialist (accurate), a Marxist, a totalitarian. All accurate but even if those words make you squeemish, you can simply call him a liberal.

At the end of his four year term, the welfare state will grow substantially in this country. That will be his legacy. Nothing more. The percentage of the GDP eaten up by government will grow to unprecedented heights.

It's really very simple. The more the govt. grows, the fewer individual liberties we have. These are two sides of the same coin. A zero sum gain. One grows at the expense of the other. You can't have both growing at the same time.

Barry-boy loves government. It will grow and our liberty as Americans will decrease. Until we are all equal - equally poor. That's Marxism. Welcome to your future.

redistribution to favored constituencies
From the great thinker Lawrence Auster at:
http://www.amnation.com/vfr/archives/012472.html

Obama: a leftist who seeks to redistribute wealth, appease America's enemies, and weaken America at home and abroad

Most conservatives understand this by now, but Powerline's restatement of it is worth quoting:

“The underlying theme in the various domestic moves made by the Obama administration so far is the appropriation of resources by Washington for redistribution to favored constituencies. “

Of course Obama in seeking the redistribution of wealth to his friends is only enacting the anti-white, anti-production of wealth philosophy he lapped up at the feet of Rev. Jeremiah Wright. In his 1995 memoir, book, Obama quotes the first sermon he heard Wright give, which changed the direction of his life:

It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks' greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere ... That's the world! On which hope sits.

WILLIAM
Very well said and I agree...TY for the post.

Tammy
"Doesn't it embarrass you to mention MSM when
talk radio, not to mention Fox "News" is so
profoundly right wing."

The primary difference is that talk radio does not pretend to be anything other than right wing. The mainstream media pretneds to report from the center while the vast majority of them report from the left.

Fox News reports to the right of the MSM but to the left of talk radio. They're "right wing" only when viewed from a left wing position.

Check this link, though I'll sum the findings up by quoting a couple of paragraphs:

http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/Media-Bias-Is-Real-Fin ds-UCLA-6664.aspx

"Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS' "Evening News," The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal.

Only Fox News' "Special Report With Brit Hume" and The Washington Times scored right of the average U.S. voter."

The study was performed by a policical scientist from UCLA (hardly a bastion for conservatives).

Side note: The study differentiates between the Wall Street Journal's right leaning editorial pages and the left leaning news pages.

What Were We Thinking?
Guessing it is a little too late to remind folks that our duly elected officials are not hired to create jobs but rather to write laws that protect the workers in the jobs.

The best stimulus for this troubled economy would have been for those duly elected officials to perform their jobs and allow "we the people" to create the jobs rather than spoon feeding the masses that we are somehow incapable of doing so if "they" would only move out of our way.

If the current administration and congress needed an infusion of cash for their welfare programs am now thinking that auditing and actually collecting owed taxes from all elected and appointed officials as well as those who sought to gain favor through govt giveaways would have given them plenty without having to strap the next gneration with huge tax rates and decreased services that they will now likely face.

Of the now reported multi trillion dollars that the administration/congress is asking for and getting printed as we sit behind our computer montors without any hope of we the people ever knowing or even seeing where that money went, we the people would have been much better served had we simply stood on our roof tops and shook our fists and said a defiant NO!

But that of course would have taken action by a decidely inactive population and would not have been reported anyway.

Make some good points
BETWyan makes several posts and makes some good points.

It's sad that he has to frame his comments in such a way as to distract from the good points he makes with unbridled hyperbole, name-calling and bigotry.

>Hussein Osama used voter fraud, registration fraud, donations from foreigners (illegal) and a butt-kissing MSM to get elected.<

I suppose that's your story and you're sticking to it, but you're kidding yourself.

Obama won because the Republican candidate was unpopular among his own party, the Republican President for 8 years was unpopular and so-called conservatives like yourself were too invested in negativity to present a positive message that resonated with voters.

The sooner conservatives concentrate on what they're for, as opposed to a constant barrage of fringe rhetoric, the sooner the public at large will respond,

It's just amazing how someone can sound so intelligent and unintelligent all in one sentence.

LATEST GALLUP : "TAX CUTS"? NO!

Government funding of infrastructure improvements and other projects is a better approach than relying on tax cuts says Gallup polls.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/114256/Gov-Projects-Seen-Better- Job-Creation-Tax-Cuts.aspx

====

Now BOZ, DID YOU ALSO MISS THIS POLL?

Twiddle Me This, O & Gallup

Even though there is a Safe Haven law in LA, a teenager hid her pregnancy from everyone. After giving birth, she threw the newborn into Lake Pontchatrain to die.

Would O & Gallup say that she was only "fearful of her parents" or would they say it is justified that she was charged with 1st degree murder?

"She could have had an abortion"? Well, she did not.

Additionally, a man murdered his 2 year-old son because he owed child support. Should he throw himself at The One's feet and claim economic insanity?

Obama and Gallup, you fail to understand the true feelings of the American populace.

And, BTW, Ms. Maddow, my Governor, Senator (Vitter of DC Madam fame voted against the Porkulus) and Congressman (Cao), WON. They are my representatives and I don't want them to kowtow to Democrats.

Thus, what say you, O, Democrats, MSM and Gallup?

Red Envelope Campaign...
Get a red envelope. On the front, address it to

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington , D.C.

On the back, write the following message:

This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world.
Responsibility begins with conception.

Speak for those whose voice has been silenced!

Tammany Hall & Will
REGARDLESS OF POLLS SHOWING OBAMA'S "JOB APPROVAL" RATINGS, REPUBLICANS ARE GAINING GROUND IN THE DISMAL DEMOCRAT RATINGS.

And, Tammany, even though O has high (but falling) job approval ratings, the overwhelming American populace believe that the Spend-a-palooza sucks.

No one is trying to force Christianity on you.

Left Wingnuts out in force!
Why don't you answer the point raised by Bozell?

Quit talking about other poll results, right-wing radio, and tax cuts. Discuss the issues raised in the article.

The major news outlets reported the good poll results, but neglected to report the bad results. Why?

Galluping Past
WOW! you must've hit on a good point Brent!
Look at all the hysterical lib-tards coming outta the woodwork!
(just like we saw during the election) We're seeing the Lame Stram Media sponsoring additional polls (targeting only Dhimmicrps & liberals, of course) showing how inaccurate the neutral polls were. The "Annointed One" (annointed with the sewage that IS Chicago politics) demands that an 85% Christian nation buy abortions for the whole world! How will shipping $100s of millions overseas help our economy??? Especially when that fiat ignores the will of the majority of "We the People"??? How can the majority of the congress-critters vote for this Porkulus, when it won't even address the "catastrophe" the Magic Halfrican claims is upon us? (not for some years, if ever)
"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." Alexis de Torqueville (circa 1780s) The welfare class has sold our constitutional republic down the river. May God help us all! (or the second American Revolution take place!)

Execise in futility
It's ridiculous to cite polls of approval and disapproval at this juncture of Obama's presidency.

If by some miracle the economy stabilizes by this summer, then he will get good reviews. If the economy continues to falter, he will get bad reviews. If the economy remains at its current levels, the reviews will be mixed.

A 400 point drop in the DOW yesterday, after Senate passage of the spending bill and Geithner's speech is ominous.
Say what you will about Wall Street, but a healthy market is imperative to this nation's economic well being. It says a lot more than currently meaningless approval polls.

Huh
So surveys show that some of Obama's policies have polled well and some have not. The media has not been focused on the general array of polls good or bad, but has looked only at the polls about the stimulus because that has been the main issue in Washington. And this is supposed to show bias why exactly?

Actually most polls of the stimulus plan have shown that Obama is doing much better than the Republicans with this issue, so even on that one issue Bozell is misrepresenting the situation.

But even if one takes what he says to be accurate he is showing a lack of bias on the part of the media. He does not show them highlighting polls by outcome, he shows them highlighting polls by issue. And the issue they are focusing on is the one that is currently most central.

Does Bozell even care if he makes sense?

Hey, Lon
Bozell's just pointing out the media's incredible bias toward Obama, where they couldn't wait to revel in Bush's low polls. Polls are useless to anything anyway, especially just a month after Obama was inaugurated.

Polls
Polls are snapshots of public opinion on a given day, and as such, they are ignored by wise leaders and valued only by politicians who have no core values and principles. I remember Ronald Reagan's quip when told of his plunging approval rating in the polls: "Maybe I should arrange to get shot again." There's a leader with the proper perspective.

LoonDrools
Well Sissy Boy, did you sneak out of your padded cell again? Are you still too GUTLESS to allow comments on your INSANE RANT of a Blog?

I don't like
the idea of paying for abortions in other countries one bit.........spaying and neutering------maybe?....Libs?....sure!

Libs(socialist voters) always have their hands out for anything Mr. Disaster(Obama) can get from workers(Republicans).

MSM Installed Obama
So is it any surprise to see them covering up for him as well? They don't want to voters to know such things. It might emberrass them. After all, he is the Messiah and can do no wrong.

Polls are not news
Journalists should never report the results of public opinion polls. Polls are not news. They are primarily a vehicle to make or shape the news.

Polls are news
like the American people's 19% approval rating of the Congress led by those Dem whack jobs Pelosi and Reid - two total buffoons.

I love it when people toss around polls
It presumes that the poller can really ask the right question of the pollee. Give me the answer, I'll write you the question. But since so many here seem entranced, lets look at a poll which generally asks the right questions, Rasmussen. On Monday 2/9 the "Obama approval index" (defined; strongly approve minus strongly disapprove), stood at +14%. 54% thought he was doing ok on the economy, but only 43% thought his administration was "the most ethical" (remember that promise?). At the same time our ace Democratic congress has a 12% excellent/good rating. 57% of the folks say tax cuts help the economy, 49% say tax increases? So I guess you have to take a poll with a pound of salt, because Obama gets 64% if you add the excellent/good respondents. Who cres, next month we will all be out of work after Obamanomics kicks in.

For Tammy and all the other Libs
Your side has not even had complete control for a month and your popularity is in freefall. At this rate the 2010 congressional elections are looking pretty good for the GOP.

24 Minutes of News
Undoing the religious rights foolishness is news. The specifics of the looniness being undone is not. Do I care the BO is undoing GW's ideological bull, yes. Does funding of abortions overseas concern me? not really.

Since BB is really dumb I'll explain water to him and the rest of the rabid right. There is only so much information you can put into a news broadcast. What is important to you is not to me. If you wish to view it as a vast left wing conspiracy, be my guest. If you wish to view it as a liberal bias of the media, I can't stop you. Clutch your bibles and your guns and be very afraid. BTW, welcome to the world I experienced under GW.

Bleeding Heart Liberal
Congrats! Two paragraphs not one coherent thought.

polls
I urge Republicans to do what Newt Gingrich did: Develop a coherent philosophy of government, focus on the possible, and articulate your platform to the voters. When candidates are elected on the clarity of their vision, they do not have to be concerned with the polls. It is actually possible to be elected by explaining, rather than obfuscating, Republican Party principles. It is the Left that can take control only through deception. Our problem as conservatives is that we haven't had candidates who understood, much less articulated and governed with Republican economic principles.

Public Education
TAMMY SAYS: What is important to Democrats is to SUPPORT public education.
I never in my life thought that I would live
to see the day in my country - land of the
free and the brave - that public education is
no longer supported by a large segment of
the population. This is truly a travesty.
It is truly an outrage. And if it continues
it could be the end of our greatness.

Tammy, free public education was never the intent of the founding fathers (Maybe you should do more research on American history). My husband and I did not send our children to public school mainly because it no longers educates, but is used for social engineering. Maybe if the schools would get back to teaching academics instead of social issues, it would have more support.

Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA)
I don't see how this poll can be right. 67,000,000 people voted for Obama and he said before he was elected that he would sign this act. Were people so stupid or ill informed that they didn't know this. With Obama's extreme pro abortion views and voting record how could only 9% of the people be in favor of this act, heck he got about 60% of the votes. There can't be that many stupid morons it this country can there? I pray not, all is lost if there is.

Homeschooler
That is why my family homeschools. Schools are too busy indoctrinating the kids into the current politically correct fads such as gay marriage, global warming and multiculturalism, and generally how to behave and emote-think like good little liberals, and how to despise their country. No thanks.

Schools have abandoned teaching traditional reading, writing, arithmetic, etc., and due to the breakdown of society, impose little or no discipline in the herd. Don't want my kids subjected to bullying, peer pressure to do drugs and have sex. This is a no-brainer for any thinking parent. The benefits of homeschooling are too abundant.

Polls & Statistics
Polls cherrypick their facts, bastardize their questions, and manipulate all to achieve their results.

Some polls are like statistics, which means they can be shape the results that they seek. If the pollsters want an answer, most rely on statistics that have been gerrymandered.

Lon: Obama's high approval ratings are based on his job approval performance and the residue left over from his election. Try comparing them to the Democratic Congressional polls. And, the aggregate disapproval of the populace that either hated the Stimulus Bill or wanted it significantly changed.

Also, I don't want to bailout your State. Yes, LA received governmental funds for natural disasters, like hurricanes, but did you know that the 30% of the money given after Katrina was pocketed by politicians and their cronies? In NOLA alone, my Democratic neighbor still has tens of thousands of dollars in equipment.

So, good luck in getting relief!

What happened to hope and change?
"We've got a really big crisis in our hands as a country. Is it really that important to bend over backwards to try to make the Republicans in Congress happy right now."

No, you dems should just go ahead, close your eyes, hold your nose and jump in. Just steamroll the stimulus through, and crush the Republicans, you can do it! What happened to "Yes we can"? The truth is you want political cover. The truth is you are afraid to own the results of the stimulus all by yourselves. The rub is that in a year or two things will be at great-depression scale and you will be responsible. Ain't total control over gubmint a *****?

Who votes in the Gallup poll
I have never seen or even been able to locate the Gallup poll. Who is casting votes and how do they get the opportunity? They talk about these ratings like every citizen in the US gets to particiapate. Well hell, I am a US citizen born and raised, mother and father as well

Tammy
You vitrious viper caterwalling is typical of the morally challenged. You throw out the 'christian' canard and you haven't a clue as to what christianity is. You heard somewhere that there's something about not judging, and you heard that God is all love so therefore anything goes.

First of all, as Christians we can judge (inspect) the fruit of those who regard themselves as "christians"..and so far the Zero has a lot of rot and worms in his spiritual fruit. Just because he said he's committed doesnt mean he is..he is a god in his own eyes.
Regardless of what apostate preachers like
Vicki Gene Robinson and Jerry Wright say, the
scripture says what it means and means what it says, not what these two clowns think it should say.
OMoron has the blood of innocents on his hands,
with his domestic abortion advocacy, now he's implicated the whole nation, including those of us who don't have think about pay grades to understand that life is LIFE, in and out of the womb. This is a blood sacrifice to satan and because of it, we the people will suffer from
God's anger. True God loves everyone and he desires all will be saved but he HATES sin, and He's against sinful nations that pay lipservice
to Him while killing His innocents. We cannot truthfully say God Bless America because the death cult as personified in Obama and the DemonRATS party have succeeded in taking it from us..the economy is just the warm up. We
should be praying God Have Mercy on U.S., because only His mercy will save us..not your
pontificating tin god..there once was another king who spit in God's eye, and he saw the handwriting on the wall..the next morning the wall remained the king was no longer Dan 5

Elections have consequences
We liberals are very happy, cheer up conservatives! We won.

So basically...
"We cannot truthfully say God Bless America because the death cult as personified in Obama and the DemonRATS party have succeeded in taking it from us..the economy is just the warm up."

So you're saying....God damn America?

Does Chrissy Matthews
feel a tingling going down his let? O.'s poll numbers will dive even further. Watch.

Obama's poll numbers??????
"If a tree falls in the Forrest and no one is around, will anyone here it?
That is the way I feel the American public will
here of the new polling.
As far as I know Fox News is the only television news that will give it the public
with out a chaser. By the way I will have a twist of lemon with that.
Has there been a new bumper sticker yet, that says, "Don't blame me I didn't vote for him."
The way Obama, and his band of merry socialists
are going, they will be in the minus category, as far as polling goes, within six months.

Do a Poll of people living in Maine
I would really like to see polling numbers from Maine about what they think about the two total idiots that they elected to the Senate. I think those two females have now become the two most dangerous female politicians in America. Maybe Steven King (a resident of Maine)can write a story about how the two have been possessed by some strange virus that eats their brains.

Obama's Bad Poll Numbers
President Hussein doesn't really care what the American people want or like. He wasn't elected president, he was elected dictator. He will do what he wants and to hell with us! And, no matter what he does, people like Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and the rest of the hate-mongers over there on the Joseph Goebbels Network will cheer and support him.

Hey will
You are talking about the same CNN that was shown to skew poll results by polling more liberal dems everytime they wanted a " public concensus" poll.
How about the lamenting of the media about the lack of transparency and the cherry-picking of pre-selected reporters who have been given pre-selected questions for the O.
How about all those wonderful tax dodgers and proven failed economics-historically proven time and time again FAILED economics.
When I was in high school we had Gen Business class. In it we were given a budget, learned to keep a ledger, and how to keep a check book and how to balance that checkbook---and guess what, when your'e in debt you can't spend yourself to prosperity--economics 101.
The O is handing you a chocolate coated turd----looks good smells good but wait till you take that first bite.
Want to stimulate the economy with with a triilion dollars--give 34,000$ to every man woman and child in the U.S.---the mortgage crisis would be solved, the banking crisis solved, welfare rolls would be reduced.I have 7 in my household since I'm only in debt about 22,000 that 238,000 would be put to good economic use instead of wadding up and flushing it down the Gov't toilet---how about the proposed 5 day mail week by the USPS---Change you can believe in?????

Cause and effect
"When I was in high school we had Gen Business class. In it we were given a budget, learned to keep a ledger, and how to keep a check book and how to balance that checkbook---and guess what, when your'e in debt you can't spend yourself to prosperity--economics 101."

We need this guys running the federal reserve!!! He clearly understands macro vs. micro economics! And you guys wonder why colleges are filled with liberals. Personal Finances = Global Markets right conservatives? Go get an education and contribute to society in the spirit of change.

Not learning from history
To all you know it alls out there who think you can ignore history:

"We are spending more money than we have ever spent before, and it does not work. ... I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. ... I say after eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started ... and an enormous debt, to boot."

Henry Morganthau - Treasury Secretary for FDR

And If Not- Hope/Change
What happened to Hope and Change?

Didn't you get the memo?

It is now "Hoping For Some Change (in your wallet)"!!!

The press are protecting the clown
Without the press protection racket, Obama would never have been elected. Can you imagine that such a untested left wing extemist clown is in the White House?

Zak
"The press are protecting the clown."

You ain't kidding! Did you see his press conference? They acted like a bunch of sycophants. Some doofus from the Washington Post asked him, "What is your opinion of A-Rod?" Yeah, that's a real tough question!

In spite of the most scripted press conference I've ever seen, Obama's performance was mediocre at best and dismal at worst. Sooner or later, he's not going to be able to blame his troubles on Bush.

sdf
No where did I allude personal economics to global economics. It was merely an apparently way too subtle comment on living within your means ,government irresponsibilty and and the question why should I entrust the economy to someone who is a proven liar and cheat who wants to throw up to 2 trillion dollars, tutored under Paulson and being driven by Chicken Little O,s "the sky is falling!! The sky is falling!!"
To para phrase another liberal dumba**,Barney Franks, it's the voters fault they just keep re-elected us-----Congressional rating lowest in history and the superior liberal intellects, knowing that their Congressman are failing at their job,re-elect them.

Denise
LOL. I'm just really bummed. The hope and change mantra didn't last long, just until after the election. Surely the timing of our dear leader's change of message is only coincidence. Now, if we don't pass the stimulus, America will NEVER recover.

Danny
Don't argue economics with sdf. sdf is a lib and the only economics they know is that other inferior people have money, let's take it and spend it more wisely than them. I agree with your post, and it wasn't too subtle. You can't spend your way to prosperity, is as basic as "See spot run."

The great O
The O,s press conferences are controlled with pre-selected media asking pre-selected questions and are designed to never make the great O look bad---can you say Pravda--the trouble is more and more people are seeing behind the curtain----4,000,000 jobs yea ,right! Why not 5oo,ooo,ooo to replace the jobs " there will be no Pork"Pelosi said we were going to lose--if you lie it may as well be a big one...."the sky is falling!! the sky is falling" says the Magic Negro who feels your pain.....NOT!!!

Media doesn't report honestly on Dems??
Is anyone watching them anyway???

They are singing while the ship sinks.

"It was an honor playing with each of you"

Danny
"The O,s press conferences are controlled with pre-selected media asking pre-selected questions and are designed to never make the great O look bad"

True enough, but he still managed to look pretty bad in spite of it all. I wonder if anyone counted the number of times he said, "Uh--"?

Michael
I hate to tell you, Tex, but Mr. King has always been a liberal nut case. He had some sort of accident a few years ago (run over by a car, maybe) and went even further left. He, like many liberals, is now almost totally off-plumb.

Still, I like some of his books: Salem's Lot was a jewel and the scariest book I ever read.

Tea Party 12:47 pm
Thank you Tea Party! Exactly what I wanted to say.

And make mine Empress Afternoon Blend from Murchies ;)

Just more...
GOP whining. Liberals were the king whiners for sooo long, now it is quite obvious that the GOP are the new party of whiners. You guys whine about everything. Whine about how the media treats Barack Obama. Whine about polls. Whine about the fact that intimidating little Nancy Pelosi won't give you a seat at the grown up table. Whine, whine, whine.. seriously just stop whining and come up with solutions to real problems besides just tax cuts and drill baby drill.

Crush away
I hope the Democrats do continue to try to crush the Republicans. I hope they do try to pass every radical idea they have.

This will have 3 effects.

First, it will purge the GOP of moderates.

Second, they will get the blame for everything bad. If you want to be king you get the blame.

Third, eventually most Americans will wake up to the fact that Leftists really are elitist totalitarians who want to control their lives. If the average Joe things Bush was overbearing and controlling, then just let a few of the Moveon folks get in charge. Their self-righteousness is unbelievable and given a little power they cannot help but overplay their hand. Even a leftist media cannot hide the effects of totalitarian policies forever, especially when those policies come to Main Street not just Wall Street.

Where, O, Where...
Are the Liberals and "right to privacy" advocates that criticized FICA when the Spend-a-palooza allows all medical records to be posted online?

Gallup: Try polling that!

With all of the craziness going on, I might have to try Medical Marijuana.

About the polls:
Yes, everything he PROMISED before he was elected rang true, and the polls reflected the hope of a nation.
NOW--he has immediately filled his cabinet with questionable tax-dodgers; & lobbyists that have been appointed (in a couple of cases) to posts overseeing the very industry they were lobbying for. His "Sect. of State" has immediatley been overshadowed by a bunch of people nobody has ever heard of--but are friends of BO's--and report directly to him!
He immediately put into effect his demand that taxpayers who DON'T WANT to pay for abortions--pay for them; the gas guzzlers are still on the road, and the "rigid standards" apply only to those less expensive cars that most of us could buy--and probably can't anymore. His "stimulus" isn't going to stimulate a thing but the pockets of the already rich and famous, and won't even be spent during his term; NO jobs, NO tax breaks, NO money for housing. (READ IT--it'll scare you! EITHER version!)
In short--all his poll topping opinions and promises have ALREADY went out the window--and yes, he is galluping past (and ignoring) all the bad polls now...Does that surprise anybody??

Rasmussen Polls Pt 1
Democrats are still trusted more than Republicans to handle the economy by a 44% to 39% margin, but their advantage on the issue has been slipping steadily since November.

17% of voters are not sure which party they trust more to handle the economy.

November, after the election, Dems held a 15-point lead over the GOP on economic issues. December, lead dropped to 12 points. January, pre-inauguration, Democrats dropped to nine-point lead.

Support for the $800-billion-plus economic stimulus plan put forth by President Obama and congressional Democrats has fallen over the past month. A survey released today showed 67% of voters think they could do a better job than Congress on handling the current economic crisis.

When it comes to taxes, voters say they trust the GOP more by a 44% to 41%, after the parties were tied on the issue in January. Related polling on the stimulus package showed that most voters wanted to see a plan with more tax cuts and less government spending.

The majority of Americans believe most members of Congress don’t pay all the taxes they owe. LINK

Voters trust Republicans more on national security - for the fourth straight month. Republicans now hold a six-point lead on the issue, after leading by eight points last month. The latest poll of voters on the War on Terror shows confidence that the United States and its allies are winning is at an all-time high. However, Democrats hold a two-point lead when it comes to the war in Iraq for the second straight month.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) of voters trust the GOP more when it comes to immigration, while 37% trust the Democrats more. A month ago, the Democrats led by seven on this issue.

Democrats continue to hold big advantages on the issues of health care, social security and education.

Seriously?
Do you really think Obama's executive order "allowing U.S. funding for overseas family planning organizations that provide abortion" is what voters are going to judge him by in 2012?

This issue is important only to the right wing.

No wonder you guys got beat so bad in the last 2 election cycles.

IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rasmussen Poll Pt 2

Maybe it depends on how in the tank for Mr. Obama that your pollsters are. Just a thought.

Pay Attention Stupid!
Richard (reply #2), the article was primarily about the mass media intentionally obscuring poll results that reflected non-support of your president Obambi.
But since you mentioned it, many people, (and not just your so-called "right wing" boogie-man) think that protecting the lives of innocent babies from dismemberment or burning deaths by abortionists is far more important than a stupid election.

Think about it STUPID!!!!!!!

Tammy
I feel sorry for you and I pity your lack of moral judgement.
Sad.

I was so stunned by the UCLA studying supposedly showing liberal media bias that I googled it for criticism. It turns out to be highly flawed (e.g. it used an extremely flawed measure of centrism). See this:

http://mediamatters.org/items/200512220003

Sure Dr. Douglas
Since you have lived in an academic world all of your life where your opinions are formed in an echo chamber, I bet you left a wet spot on your chair when you read about liberal media bias.

Of course the UCLA study is flawed. It does not fit your ideology. The bottom line is that it tells anyone with a brain what is already known.

Media Bias

Just about any way you look at it, there's a huge bias favoring conservatives in the media. In contrast to the flawed UCLA study, virtually all of the major networks are center right. Fox is of course far, far, far right - simply a propaganda organ for the republican party. There is nothing as extreme as Fox on the left. You might argue that PBS is left- biased, but it would rate a on a 1 on a 10 point scale of liberalism while Fox rates a 10 on a 10 point scale of conservatism.

The logic is quite simple: Corporations own the media. Corporations own the republican party. Therefore, the media is biased republican.

Perhaps Dr. Douglas
You have never hear of MSNBC? Or NBC? Or CNN? Also known as the Clinton News Network?

Fox has more liberal media people and spokespersons on their shows than any other outlet has conservatives.

Another post straight out of the academic echo chamber.

Dr Douglas
In many of your posts, you accuse the posters of not backing up their claims with empirical evidence.

Back up your claims, made in your 10:03 post, with some evidence.

Husker 2 Evidence on content
Note: Poverty is a primary liberal concern:

FAIR’s study examined the three weeknight network newscasts—ABC World News, CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News—over a 38-month period (9/11/03– 10/30/06). We considered every story mentioning the words “poverty,” “low income,” “homeless,” “welfare” or “food stamps,” compiling a list of all stories that dealt with issues of poverty in more than a passing manner.

It was a short list. During the more than three years studied, there were just 58 stories about poverty on the three network newscasts, including just 191 quoted sources.
For perspective, a FAIR study of network newscasts (Extra!, 5–6/02) found that in just one year (2001), the three networks included a total of 14,632 sources. Assuming that the nightly news still features a like number of sources per year, that would amount to some 46,000 sources over the 38 months of FAIR’s study, making sources appearing in poverty stories just 0.4 percent of overall sources.

Among individual networks, NBC ran the most stories related to poverty, with 25, followed close behind by CBS with 22. ABC aired only 11 stories addressing poverty in the 38-month study period—a rate of about one every 15 weeks.

evidence 2 - McCain vs Obama
Note: This is a university study:

But as George Mason University’s Center for Media and Public Affairs documented in its study of six weeks of TV news reports this summer, Obama’s coverage was 28 percent positive, 72 percent negative. (For McCain, the split was 43/57.) Even McCain’s most blatant confusions, memory lapses and outright lies still barely cause a ripple, whether he’s railing against a piece of pork he in fact voted for, as he did at the Saddleback Church pseudodebate last weekend, or falsifying crucial details of his marital history in his memoirs, as The Los Angeles Times uncovered in court records last month.

evidence 3a - columnists
As Editor & Publisher paraphrased one syndicate executive noting, "U.S. dailies run more conservative than liberal columns, but some are willing to consider liberal voices."1
Though papers may be "willing to consider" progressive syndicated columnists, this unprecedented study reveals the true extent of the dominance of conservatives:
• Sixty percent of the nation's daily newspapers print more conservative syndicated columnists every week than progressive syndicated columnists. Only 20 percent run more progressives than conservatives, while the remaining 20 percent are evenly balanced.
• In a given week, nationally syndicated progressive columnists are published in newspapers with a combined total circulation of 125 million. Conservative columnists, on the other hand, are published in newspapers with a combined total circulation of more than 152 million.2
• The top 10 columnists as ranked by the number of papers in which they are carried include five conservatives, two centrists, and only three progressives.
• The top 10 columnists as ranked by the total circulation of the papers in which they are published also include five conservatives, two centrists, and only three progressives.

evidence 3b - columnists continued
• In 38 states, the conservative voice is greater than the progressive voice -- in other words, conservative columns reach more readers in total than progressive columns. In only 12 states is the progressive voice greater than the conservative voice.
• In three out of the four broad regions of the country -- the West, the South, and the Midwest -- conservative syndicated columnists reach more readers than progressive syndicated columnists. Only in the Northeast do progressives reach more readers, and only by a margin of 2 percent.
• In eight of the nine divisions into which the U.S. Census Bureau divides the country, conservative syndicated columnists reach more readers than progressive syndicated columnists in any given week. Only in the Middle Atlantic division do progressive columnists reach more readers each week

evidence 4 - guests on news shows
As it happens, FAIR has studied the guestlists of many of these outlets. The partisan guests on CNN's Wolf Blitzer Reports were 57 percent Republican. On the CBS Evening News, they were 76 percent Republican; on ABC World News Tonight, 73 percent; on NBC Nightly News, 75 percent. On NPR's All Things Considered and Morning Edition, Republicans were 61 percent of partisan sources. (Look for a soon-to-be-released study of PBS's NewsHour for a comparable figure.)
As far as their guestlists are concerned, all the major media outlets we've looked at do tilt to the right. We hope Ailes enjoys his birkenstocks.

In 2001, FAIR found this: “Of the 56 partisan guests on Special Report between January and May, 50 were Republicans and six were Democrats—a greater than 8 to 1 imbalance. In other words, 89 percent of guests with a party affiliation were Republicans.” In 2004, FAIR studied the Special Report guest lists again, and still found a gross imbalance: “Among ideological guests, conservatives accounted for 72 percent, while centrists made up 15 percent and progressives 14 percent. (The total exceeds 100 percent due to rounding.) Viewers were roughly five times more likely to see a conservative interviewed on Special Report than a progressive.”

evidence 5 - panelists/guests
Employing the same methodology, Media Matters tallied all guests who appeared on Hardball during the first two months of 2006 and coded them based on party affiliation and ideology. (A list of the guests is here.) The data reflected in these charts show that the number of Republican/conservative guests has been significantly higher than the number of Democratic/progressive guests. In January, Republicans/conservatives led Democrats/progressives 55 to 38 -- a difference of 59 percent to 41 percent. By February, that advantage had increased: Republican/conservatives outnumbered Democrats/progressives 55 to 34, or 62 percent to 38 percent.

In addition, conservative journalists and pundits outnumbered progressive journalists and pundits by a considerable margin. While most journalists/pundits were neutral reporters or consistently presented a centrist point of view, the data show that those who spoke from an ideological perspective were conservative far more often than progressive. Conservatives in this category outnumbered progressives 42 to 13 -- a ratio of more than 3-to-1

evidence 6 -viewers biased misperception
The basis for Bush's victory was in place way before 2004. At the end of last year, a huge study done by the University of Maryland's PIPA, the Program on International Policy Attitudes, found that most of those who got their news from the commercial TV networks held at least 1 of 3 fundamental "misperceptions" about the war in Iraq (and some held 2 or 3 of them):
• that Iraq had been directly linked to 9/11

• that WMDs had been found in Iraq

• that world opinion supported the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Viewers of Fox News, where I worked for years, were the most misled. But strong majorities of CBS, ABC, NBC and CNN viewers were also confused on at least one of these points. Among those informed on all 3 questions, only 23 percent supported Bush's war.

evidence 7 - conclusions

The reason I don't always provide supporting evidence is that I don't think anyone on Townhall actually reads it.

For example, I've presented these 6 areas of evidence before but they have been ignored.

In any event, Bozell is a laughing stock when it comes to legitimate media interpretation. Read the criticism of the UCLA study I linked to in my initial post.

The evidence is simply overwhelming that the media favors the republicans/conservatives. For one last example, look at Bush: The media allowed him to (1) start an illegal war based on lies (2) to continue the war even after it turned into a fiasco, (3) undermine civil liberties through unconstitutional means (e.g., FISA), (4) to institute rendition and torture as American policies, (5) to get away with policies that undermined the economy, and so on. Only after six years did the media "turn" on Bush, and even then it was quite mild and d they are still covering up for him (because they were complicit in this policies).

This is just another case where conservatives have to blame their shortcomings on someone else in this case the media.

Douglas to Husker
First of all yout statistics conveniently leave out totals, and are from 2001,2000 era. Shall we say FAIR is not exactly a bellweather of conservative thought?.

Poverty is not a stand alone liberal issue by any means. To state so is disingenuous.

Content grade D+. Analytical conclusions F.

Redo required

Dr. Douglas quotes FAIR statistics
The fonder of FAIR, Jeffrey Cohen was an ACLU lawyer prior to founding FAIR around 1981. The man has an obvious liberal bias.

What Dr. Douglas is doing with his evidence is quoting statistics from a site founded by an ACLU lawyer, a professed left wing type to support his left wing assertions about the media.

But 59% of Democrats approve.
It is true that only 8% of Republicans approve of the President's executive order on foreign family planning agencies, but Republicans are increasingly irrelevant now.

Once Democrat Al Franken of Minnesota finally takes his senate seat, the dems will hold 59 of the 100 seats and it will be extrememly difficult for Republicans to stop the Dems from doing anything they choose to do. If the Republicans don't moderate their positions on the issues, not to mention dumping folks like Russ Limbaugh overboard, they're going to end up with the footprints of Democrats in the middle of their faces.

More on Dr. Douglas media
Rush Limbaugh, Shawn Hannity etc. have all risen from nothing to donimate the radio air waves. And some like Hannity are making inroads into the cable TV market at a growing pace.

Why?

Their content is accepted by mainstream americans, who apprecaite their views.

On the other hand far left liberal media outlets such as Air America go bankrupt because they attract only fringe types as listeners.

The NY times is nearly bankrupt, and other liberal media outlets are going under. MSNBC has ratings off the charts. So low it is hard to find them. Same with NBC.

The content and the message of the liberal media is failing. The conservative media message is what mainstream america wants to hear. Not the Dr. Douglas echo chamber of failure.

Dr Doug to you really like being so uneducated ???

Or are you just STUPID!!

Huh?

This is a typical example of the distortion used by conservatives to disavow data that conflicts with their rigid views.

1) There's no need for totals in this data (do you know anything about statistics?)
2) My studies are not all from FAIR (try reading closer) - even if FAIR has a liberal bias (as does Media Matters), it does objective and well controlled studies.
3) So what if FAIR was founded by an ACLU lawyer - MediaMatters was founded by David Brock, an ex-conservative "slimer" who got fed up with the right wing's attack-dog methods.
4) My studies were not all from the 2001, 2000 era as you claim (try actually reading).

Like I said above, the reason I don't always present evidence is because it usually gets met with this kind of ignorance, closed-mindedness, and intellectual dishonesty.

I'm done.

Duglas on evidence 5
Media Matters is quoted as a reliable source by Dr. Douglas. Probably 5% of the population would believe that as a fact.

This outfit is so far out there politically as to be clear to the warning track in left field.

Once again, quoting evidence from a far left organization whose past performance can only charitably described as partisan, is simply an exercise in intellectual onanism by the Dr.

Speaking of intellectual dishonesty Dr.
Douglas admits to his sources being far left wing liberal media. Media Matters, FAIR.

In essence he is finding people who believe as he does, and then using them as the gold standard to convince others of his own assertions. Talk about circular reasoning.

Not once in his evidence posts does he refer to an independent source who has been proven reliable. Rasmussen is close, perhaps a couple of others, and Dr. Douglas offers no statistics or refutation of the fact that FOX has as many or more liberal commentators and guests as they do conservatives.

Where are the Republicans?
Where's the news conference? Where's the advertizement? Where are the Republicans to publicize this decision and lay it squarely on the hands of Obama and the Congress?

The answer is: the Republican Party has caved on this and other social, cultural and moral issues. Leftist ideology (which is really quasi-Marxist) considers abortion and other moral issues to be "divisive" distratctions. What they mean by "divisive" is not that it divides Republicans from Democrats but that it divides voters from Democrats.

As Obama told the San Fran. radical chic: guns and religion are distractions clung to by the economically desperate. The Democrats believe abortion is a "red herring" issue that the Republican Party uses to woo the natural constituencies of the Democrats away from their true interests.

You will notice that all "politics of the past" and "divisive" issues are social, cultural and moral, and they're all issues on which most Americans are conservative.

When Obama appoints a pro-abortionist to the Supreme Court, Senate Republicans should ask him where in the Constitution abortion is a privacy right. When he/she answers that it's a privacy right, then ask whether that right was observed when the amendments were written. When he/she says it's a matter of interpreting in light of present circumstances, ask him what the amendment process is for. At that point the nominee will sound stupid. If the nominee is as evasive and dishonest on the issue as the person that appoints him/her, then don't support it. But certainly use the proceedings as an opportunity to clarify where the Democratic Party stands on abortion and other so-called unimportant issues.

Dr. Douglas evidence 3a columnists
Columns to a certain extent are dictated by viewer demand and preference. Columns by interesting, well informed individuals who share the same values and thoughts as main stream americans are demanded far and above others.

As with Air Ameica and the NY Times, those with a far left media message are not flourishing. The NY Times has only 1 conservative writer, and look how they are going under.

If the content of their paper reflected the desires of the readers the NY Times would still be on top.

Fanatical liberlism is not what main stream america reads or desires. That is apparent. That is not media bias Dr. Douglas, that is customer demand.

How utterly disingenuous to claim that the media has a conservative bias because liberal media will not sell with main stream americans.

popular - but - incompetent
Now here is a real vote of confidence in congressional leadership.
Are ya paying attention Dems, this might be a real short reign of power.

67% Say They Could Do A Better Job On The Economy Than Congress
Nineteen percent (19%) trust members of Congress
Forty-four percent (44%) voters also think a group of people selected at random from the phone book would do a better job addressing the nation's problems than the current Congress

Obama-Biden-Feinstein's Executive Order
The truth is that the Global Poverty Act was introduced and sponsored by Barack Hussein Obama on December 7, 2007 and Feinstin and Biden sponsored it along with 28 others such as Kerry. Obama applied for the office of U.S. President on December 10, 2007 and Biden amended the Global Poverty Act on 4/24/08. On 11/4/08, Obama and Biden are elected and the Global Poverty Act is awaiting Obama's signature although he never disclosed his intention or his Bill S2433 prior to election, so no transparency there. So, if the American people think that everyone is in position by chance or their vote then they aren't living in the real world and every one in the White House is appointed for a reason, unless the very few were actually voted into office and slipped in through the back door.

This will be interesting
Dems scoffed when the R's yielded to public pressure against immigration. Clearly, they feel free to defy the public opposition to expensive economic plans. They won't be able to blame Bush. What will voters do?

Bipartisan post.
To everyone, Conservative, Liberal, Left, Right, Middle, Independent, et. al.

Stop right now, google "argumentum ad populum."

Since this is the International Year of Astronomy, allow me to use Galileo's discovery as an example. Up until he first used a telescope to gaze skyward at the moon, it was the common belief that the moon was perfectly round, had a perfect surface, and had no imperfections. Galileo discovered craters, mountains, and other features, that had shadows that moved! No one believed him.

Because "Everybody knew it."

Columbus was in the minority when he believed it was that it was possible to sail west to the Indies. (Nobody believed the world was flat, another example of something "everybody believes" is wrong).

In essence, using polls to govern is simply STUPID. Arguing about polls is even stupider. Trying to justify public policy by using polls is the ultimate in stupidity.

Remember, one half of Americans have below average intelligence. That in itself will skew any poll taken. And remember, statistically, the first person who hangs up on a pollster blows the sample - from there on out, the poll cannot be trusted. Not to mention that polls can be skewed on purpose, misreported, or as the article exclaims, unreported. How you ask the question, or which question you ask first also skew poll results. Not to mention the use of callers rather than automated or written poll methods.

And then, now that you understand the concept of argumentum ad populum, let's follow up with some homework:

Look up Communal reinforcement and Groupthink.

OK, no cheating by looking at your neighbor's answer, and answer the question:

Is leadership by consensus an effective method?

Power Of The Purse.
Republicans with champagne tastes and beer pockets will be left thirsty as the recession deepens. Congress has the key to the treasury and the power of the purse is now held by the Democratic party. Voters always follow the money and always will. Billions of government bucks given to unemployed workers will gain party loyalty. "Never Bite The Hand That Feeds You" will be written on millions of bilboards throughout the nation. Big Daddy is here and it is foolish to chase him away.

Brent Bozell Galluping Past Bad Polls?
Why is there a question mark at the end of the title? Obama is galloping. I have never seen a grown man behave in such a frenetic way as Obama has for the past 22-23 days. He reminds of a squirrel on cocaine, the Energizer Bunny on speed. That would not necessarily be so bad if he dd, had and will not “screw up” everything he has or will do, as he admitted on his appointment. That continues. He has alienated every possible constituency from the Pope to the mayor of Sin City Las Vegas and encouraged our avowed enemies and competitors around the world. At least as long as no one tells the Emperor he has on no clothes he is bound to continue at breakneck pace screwing up by the numbers. How sad for all of us, the nation and the world.
By Obama’s own standards on abortion he would have been aborted by his unwed, teenage mother knocked up by some black man. Perhaps he knows his abortion as President is coming sooner rather than later due to his ineligibility. It is unlikely he can hide forever let alone much longer his real birth certificate and other documents proving or disproving his eligibility to run for let alone hold even for the briefest of time.

Not just Obama
About Obama's executive order "allowing U.S. funding for overseas family planning organizations that provide abortion". Pres. Clinton did the same thing in 1993.
Also, about supporting Freedom of Choice Act, Clinton, too, supported this, though it was not passed yet, (it got stalled in the Rep. Congress). Since he is not the only Pres. who supported/supports that, I wouldn't say he's the most extreme pro-abortion president in history. Actually, he has said he is personally not for abortion, but wants to leave it up to the woman. Truly, I think, this is a realm where smaller gov is better.
Republican negativism just goes on and on- smearing, criticizing, mocking, parsing conversations, and still people line-up outside the night before to attending a Town-Hall meeting with Obama speaking. Thank goodness for the ever-popular Pres. Obama.

Destruction
I for the first time in my lifetime of 72 years am starting to get A very great dislike for my fellow Americans.I just can't believe we have bred such A bunch of idiots that can't see through that crowd that is leading us down this path to destruction for thirteen dollars A week

Nice try with some facts. Obama is "the most extreme pro-abortion president" because he advocates real late term abortion, like leaving a live baby survivor of an abortion out to die without any medical care.
Also, you may have missed it but he said two things that mark his extremism: 1) At the Saddleback Forum, stating his views on the beginning of life, it is "above his pay grade." McCain gave a quick, clear, unequivocal answer, "at the moment of conception." 2) On the campaign trail Obama said he did not want his daughters punished by an unwanted pregnancy; thus he is teaching them that sex without protection is okay, even with a person or persons with whom you do not want to father, maybe even raise, a child.
Perhaps it has not occurred to him that he was a candidate to be aborted since his mother, an unwed teenager, was knocked up by some black man, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. she claimed, an already married man.
There is no proof of her claim because Obama, at great expense and trouble to himself, has concealed so far his real birth certificate. He could provide easily a certified copy of his vault birth certificate and put to rest forever the questions about who his father really is and his eligibility or not to run let alone serve as president.
The parser is Obama. People line-up for him because they are Lib Dem Obamaniacs. There is no goodness in Obama for which to be thankful. If you believe so name and be ready to defend one thing he has done right on or since January 20.

MSM Bias
One of the most insidious biases of the MSM is in their choice of stories, as this commentary indicates. Example: hundreds of stories about Abu Graib, but very few about positive work by our soldiers. HEY NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, NYTIMES, etc: Don't we deserve the WHOLE truth?
