Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Perhaps they just don’t want to think through the details. Then again - - maybe some of them don’t have the capacity to think through the details.

I’m referring to the apparent plethora of partisan, passionate, “see-no-evil” Obama minions, who become outraged should any of the rest of us ask questions about the forty-fourth President.

I continually encounter the minions both as callers on talk radio, and as mailers responding to my various editorial columns. Whereas last year during the election cycle when I would dare to ask questions of the dear leader Obama, the minions’ first line of attack would be to call me a “racist” (or as one talk show caller put it to me last October, “you just can’t handle the idea of being under the authority of a black man, Austin”), today the line of attack is different. And while each talk show call and each email message are unique, the minions nonetheless typically follow a predictable pattern.

These days, the minions’ first line of attack on those of us who dare to ask questions about the dear leader seems to be to change the subject back to President George W. Bush. I heard plenty of this in March when I was back at my Washington, D.C. radio home, 630 WMAL, during the fiasco with the AIG Corporation and their executives. When I posed the question “why did President Obama hand-over $30 billion of our tax dollars to AIG in the first place?,” the responses frequently followed this pattern.

“This whole bailout mess got started with Bush” one caller stated to me (this is true, of course - - but it didn’t answer the question about Obama’s bailout behavior). “Obama wouldn’t have to bailout AIG had Bush not destroyed it,” and “if you think things are bad now, let’s go back and review the previous eight years” were some of the other subject-changing comments I got on talk radio. And after authoring a column entitled “Is Obama The Moral Alternative to Capitalism?” wherein I detailed the President’s propensity to control private corporations, and determine who their CEO’s and board members will be, one simple-minded minion emailed “I suppose you think things would be better if Bush and his cronies were in charge…”

After attempting to change the subject, and get the focus of the conversation OFF of dear leader Obama, the second line of attack from the minions seems to be to demonize the talk show host, and talk radio generally. I got an earful of this during a recent show I hosted at Phoenix, Arizona’s NewsTalk 92-3 KTAR. Noting President Obama’s plans to set earnings limits on corporate executives, I posed the question, “should President Obama determine how much money you’re allowed to earn?”

“You all can’t do anything but hate on this guy” a caller said in response. “All you talk radio guys know how to do is trash Obama” another caller said.

Oh really? I was “hating on” the dear leader, and “trashing” him? I pressed further with one caller, saying “seriously…should President Obama set the limit on how much money you’re allowed to make at your job - - just to make certain that you don’t make ‘too much’?”

“He’s not proposing to limit my pay, you idiot” the minion replied. “He’s only limiting the salaries of corporate CEO’s, which he should be doing.”

“So, are you saying that some of your fellow Americans deserve less freedom that you do?” I asked. “You should be free to make as much money as you can, but your fellow American should not - - is that your point?”

“That’s not what I’m saying, you idiot!” the angry minion replied.

Of course, that was precisely what the angry minion was saying.

The third line of attack from the minions seems to be a simple “how dare you?” response. I encountered this after the publication of a column in my local hometown newspaper. After stating the obvious about President Obama’s economic plan - - that his plan has essentially nothing to do with growing the private sector economy, and everything to do with creating more government control over private individuals and businesses - - I had people, literally, stopping me around town to ask “how dare you?” - - or something similar.

While attending a school function with my ten year old son, another Dad confronted me and asked, “how could you say such a terrible thing about the President of the United States?”

“I supported my claims in the column” I told the Dad. “It’s all right there in the text.”

“But how could you say such a thing about the President?” he asked.

“What part of my analysis was inaccurate?” I replied.

“But this meltdown isn’t Obama’s fault” he stated.

“So what‘s your point? What part of my analysis was inaccurate?”

“But he’s trying to do the right thing, Austin…….”

I hope you remain willing to ask questions. But be prepared for the attacks - - and by all means, don’t expect any rational answers.

Oh yes, thou SHALT question Barack Obama, at every opportunity, unless thy gonads hast shrunk to a pitiful shadow of their former glory.

Strange Article
An article indicating people are losing their right to free expression.But yet, the writer has a radio show and pens columns with impunity. People who don't like what he says or writes let him know as they exercise their free speech. Where is the problem? If the gov't was stopping him from speaking that would be oppression. When fellow citizens call in to a call in show and give an opinion you don't like that is just how the country works and I don't think anyone would have it any other way.

Can We Question
whether or not Obama meets the eligibility requirements to be POTUS?

Wouldn't ANY president have to provide proof of his eligibility?

Is it so difficult to produce ones birth certificate? I know I can produce mine. Why is Obama having so much difficulty finding his Hawaii birth certificate? Is he or is he not a natural born citizen of the US?

Is Austin Hill curious about this?

Strange indeed

Strange Article
...
====================================

I agree 100% Elliot. But, I understand where Mr. Hill's obvious frustration might be coming from, given all the whining I've been forced to listen to any time I speak out about NObama's neo-Marxist agenda, his gaggle of neo-Marxist suck buddies, his having been the #1 most liberal member of the US Senate, even more liberal than the one self declared socialist in the Senate, his constant inability to tell the truth, and his failure to dismount from the campaign trail so he might begin leading.

But it's all kind of silly, since with minimal thought Mr. Hill would realize he's talking about hyphenated-Americans who are so brain dead they actually view this 50%-Amerifrican as their messiah.

Elliot, nothing strange with the article
It's the disconnect with what Obama is doing, what he is saying he is doing, and how the brain-dead masses are marching lock-step behind Obama NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES.

It is not only the "obviously dumb" who are in line behind Obama. So-called "intelligent" people as determined by their alma mater, paycheck, wealth are in line, too. Why?

Why do millions of people want to RUIN this country or let it be ruined by this POTUS/Congress ?

Part of the answer is obvious: It is because idealogically many believe in what Obama is doing. For various reasons, Obama IS doing EXACTLY what a large number of people want to have happen. Unfortunately, many people don't know or can't fathom the consequences of Obama's radical changes.

George
With all the logical fallacies in your last post, I can only conclude that you are insane. Seriously, try to count them all. Go here: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/

Learn some logic. THEN argue.

Liberal Debate
The term "liberal debate" is an oxymoron - it is actually impossible for a liberal to engage in actual debates and continue to be a liberal. There are hundreds of examples on these very pages every day. They must deflect, change the subject, or resort to personal attacks...these are the only possible options if the person wishes to keep the fantasy intact.

Being a liberal requires an extremely delicate balance of denial and fantasy...and awareness of facts, evidence or reality will instantly destroy the ability to maintain the illusion.

Find a liberal willing to listen and I'll show you a former liberal.

To qoute a Founing Father
It was either John Adams or Thomas Jefferson (or another great thinker in our history) who said, "It is the first resopnsibility of every citizen to question authority."

Seems to me, most have forgotten that.

hoodaticus and nizkor.org

The Same
This is what I've been talking about. Both sides are the same. In 2003 you'd have been dixie-chicked if you dared say anything negative about the President. It's no different now except that the two groups changed sides.

Side A has got 45% of the people convinced that Side B is the cause of all the world's problems. Side B has got 45% of the people convinced that Side A is the cause of all the world's problems. It's Side A's fault. No, it's Side B's fault.

Did you ever hear them talk about how to address our more serious problems? Cut taxes 3%. Raise taxes 3%. Do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about. You didn't hear them talk about how to address the national debt, the trade deficit or the outrageous social security and medicare obligations that the previous generation left us. Those are too hard to deal with. Just the blame the other guy for some short-term problems. We're all suckers.

“But he’s trying to do the right thing”
Hitler was only trying to do the right thing based on his twisted socialist ideology after all it was the Jew that was causing all the problems. Stalin was only trying to do the right thing as well when he murdered his own countrymen in the name of communist purity, and let’s not forget about Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge who brought “Marxist Utopia” to Cambodia he was only trying to do the right thing. And now its comrade Obama’s turn to make his mark on history and give America a “New Foundation” as well, and all who stand in his way will be vilified and marginalized.

New Foundation
if that isn't a RED flag, literally and figuratively then I don't know what is. The trouble with the 'minions' (and we do have many trolling this site) is they don't have any critical thinking skills, it's all Feeeeelinngs.
They feel the magicmessiah will kiss all their booboo's and make it all go away so don't you dare shatter their dream, their feelings will be hurt.
New Foundation, just what does that mean.. Im'
thinking he's going to remake the "flawed"
Constitution with its "negative rights" over in his own image a la Chavez. He's going to try I should say. He thought in his narcissism that once he "won", every American would fall into line and the Tea Party's he didn't pay attention to, were a wake up call. I would guess that he will sic his ACORN special forces
on the next Tea Parties..which will backfire
and deepen the resistance. The lower level
Democrats who aren't the wild eyed Nazi Pellousi radicals are getting a tad worried they may get fired in 2010.

Dave
I seem to remember Bush being slammed big time by the left for trying to address the coming insolvency of Social Security. Then he turns around and adds to the problem by expanding Medicare benefits.

Stopping subsequent attacks by the murdering Islamists and cutting taxes a bit were the only substantive accomplishments of Bush. He was ripped by those on the right for expanding government and spending too much money.

I don't remember Rush Limbaugh being "Dixie Chicked" because he found fault with so much that Bush did.

It's Religion
Don't expect a rational argument from those that believe in Obama. The basis for suporting him is religious in nature and not subject to rational discussion. Fear is driving a lot of this because people can't deal with the uncertainty of life and want and need something to tie their existence to. They have decided Obama is the savior. Their minds won't allow them to think about the possibility of him not being the savior so responding with logic is impossible.

The simplest way to cut to the core of any left wing argument is to ask someone if they believe the answer to all that ails us is much more government. Deep inside everyone knows the answer to that question. See if you can get an Obama supporter to address the question or even think about it.

Someone should question
how radically Obama is pursuing the mandates of Agenda 21, the UN convention signed onto by the US at the Earth Summit in Rio, 1992.

Then, Clinton by Exec. Order established the President's Council for Sustainable Development, and Al Gore took the ball and ran with it. He wrote the bible – Earth in the Balance - on changes the US would have to make to satisfy the US’s promise to lead the world’s quest for return to a pre-Columbian Wildland.

By now you are saying, this writer is crazy. Watch this video (link at end) and do some research. Read Gore’s book and ask how much is becoming reality. Read McCaslin’s last article – which stopped so short – but is on the right track. Put the pieces together. That is what this administration is doing. Pieces of the puzzle have been created over the last few decades using “climate change” as a cover and a blind since 1992, and next was needed a President with such appeal the populace would accept anything unquestioned.

The actual plan for the future of the US was detailed in an 87 page special just distributed to environmental activist groups. The title was “The Wildlands Project” and the editor was John Davis who said in his chapter, “WE Role in the Wildlands”: “Wild Earth’ exists in part to remind conservationists that in the long run all lands and waters should be left to the whims of Nature, not to the selfish desires of one species which chose for itself the misnomer ‘Homo sapiens’, humanizing of landscapes must stop now and be reversed.”
Summarizing his thoughts on the Plan, Davis concludes, “[d]oes all the foregoing mean that Wild Earth and The Wildlands Project advocate the end of industrial civilization? Most assuredly.”

OBAMA'S STRASBOURG BLUNDER
What was it? Why did he make it? What does it mean? Click ApolloSpeaks for the answer.

turn the questions around
A question the minions can't answer is, "Should GWB have regulated CEO salaries?"

Or...

"Describe how GWB caused the Fannie/Freddie fiasco?"

The minions will answer will say it all.

They are fascists or believe in a national socialism. Though, it is never described as such.

To prove the ignorance of a minion isn't hard. It just doesn't follow the normal lines of logical and polite discussion.

Wait until the Social Security ponzi scheme comes apart. It will still be the fault of GWB?

Induced spiritual blindness is why
I have come to realize, in recent months, that there actually IS a sizeable percentage of...well, I won't call them Americans...call them "occupants of this country" who DO WANT socialism or communism as our form of government. To them, I offer this gem from Samuel Adams, "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" May I add...try Europe, you'll like it there, while it lasts.

The average Obama supporter, however, reminds me of the black knight in Monty Python's "Search for the Holy Grail". Obama cuts off a leg...oh, it's only a scratch!, etc. They are in COMPLETE DENIAL about who and what Obama really is. This is from spiritual blindness...

Obama is an anti-Christ TYPE, as described in Second Thessalonians 2:9-12..."The coming of the lawless one is according to the work of Satan, with all power, signs and lying wonders and with all UNRIGHTEOUS DECEPTION among those who perish because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason, God will send them STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." That is a perfect description of Obama and his worshippers.

Dems Plans- Anti-Freedom
Do you think that it might actually be possible the Dems planned on making sure the statement to include AIG bonuses so that they could go back and set the precedent to be able to tax any one particular group later, like conservarives. If you are interested I wrote an article-DEMS SCHEME FOR POWER, just click on my name to read. Since Obama took office he and the Democrats have been been far overreaching in power and violating our freedoms that we have a right to in the constitution. And libs think Bush was far overreaching-What dreamland were they in for 8 years? Bush was all about freedom and did not target any one particular group just because the group disagreed with how he was running the country, like Obama.
Do Libs have the capacity to come up with one intelligent thought? Republicans are actually willing to call on there own party and tell them things need to change in Washington but do Democrats do the same? I don't think so. Libs think their political leaders are like Gods who could do no wrong. Well, Dems need to start taking a hard look and evaluating how there Dmocrat leaders and realizing the crisis could have been avoided if certain Senators had listened to Bush.

No One Should Be Surprised
This is not surprising . Our culture has shifted from being based in reasoning and logic to being based on emotion and feeling. How can we expect anything else? To question the doctrine is to question who they believe themselves to be , whether or not they actually are who they think themselves to be. Applying rational logic to any topic exposes the deficiency in their thinking and denies their opinions any true credibility. Then their feelings are hurt. Ahhhhhhh.....that is a real shame.

2012
I have one question. I know several people that voted for Obama and now say they made a mistake.
Do you folks think there will be enough of them in 2012 to vote him out of office? I see some changing but wonder if it will be enough.

Dear George
When John McCain was questioned about his elegibility he produced his BIRTH CERTICATE and proved he was eligible, when O was asked about his eligibility he produced his........team of lawyers and has spent close to 1 million dollars trying to hide his BC from coming to light---anyone with a questioning mind would wonder about the obfuscation(I know this a really hard word---just get a dictionary).
Read his biographies? How does someone afford Global hopping while attending private Expensive schools like Occidental,Columbia,and Harvard--just tally the tuitions alone ,then total in the trips and it's amazing if you don't start questioning the O.Oh, but wait. those records are sealed by a lawyers goup as well,aren't they?
Let's see ,Bush in 8 years runs the deficit to 8 trillion,and liberals scream to the heavens--the Great and beneficent O wants to spend the equivalant of 233 years of the American GDP all the while relying on never before attained economic growth percentages(when you are making believe,you can insert any number you want---sadly make believe is where most liberals live) all the while saying ,well I inheited this mess,So in true liberal form O wants to fix a mess by making a bigger mess.This is like telling someone whose baby filled their diaper that,even though you can clean up the baby and yes it would be messy, you should wait until they've filled their diaper two or three times then clean up the mess--taking three times as long and three times your resources.
How about that genuflecting(get your dictionary again)to the Saudi King--like any good Muslim would do in the presence of their religious superior----how about that warm embrace of Chavez---loved that Gee,I don't know what to do twiddling(dictionary)thumbs response to the Somali pirates,glad the Seals used their own discretionary judgement.....Sibelius makes how many Tax cheats nominated now???? Like I said --make believe.

CAN'T ASK BARRY?
Then ask yourself if this is the 'CHANGE' you want concerning the Immigration Reform Bill soon to be Law.
Immediate Legal status for ALL 'illegal aliens' after 24 hours of application without complete background checks. This includes 'gang' members, estimated 30,000 of them in 33 States, and those already ordered to be deported. And all pending 'illegal alien' immigration and/or deportation cases thrown out, shutting down Immigration Courts. All Lawyers representing 'illegal aliens' will be paid by our government with American taxpayer dollars.
'Illegal aliens' get to CUT in front of ALL immigrants who have been waiting for years to obtain 'legal' status.
Temporary Visas will be Permanently renewable.
NO back taxes will be due from 'illegal aliens', but they will be 'entitled' to tax credits.
All children of 'illegal aliens' will receive 'free' education, tuition paid by taxpayer dollars, while the children of our 'legal' citizens made to pay for the millions of 'illegal alien' children NO LONGER receive 'vouchers' for school choice, little less 'free, tuition paid' education.
Learning the English language is not required until the 9th year after receiving Amnesty.
Provisions to give Mexico financial aid, more American taxpayer dollars, to improve their educational system and increase their social programs, in the "Hope' Mexicans will STAY in Mexico.
Fast Track provision for SPP--the North American Union, which means Open Borders between Mexico and Canada.
Securing the Borders is hardly addressed in this Bill.
QUESTIONS ANYONE?
The recent TEA Parties were legal American citizens voicing their opinions of protest about the way and the amount of governments 'spending' of their taxpayer dollars. And they were 'condemned' for this by the mainstream media.
So, ask yourself again, is the Amnesty Reform Bill how We the People want to have OUR MONEY spent?

Scared to Death
I am really frightened by the freedom-squashing ideas I have seen come up since Obama took office and the swiftness with which many of these ideas are being implemented. Already, anyone who dares to express an opinion different from the ones expressed by the current administration or to ask a question the President does not like are either ignored or told to clam up. And the loyal followers are not just accepting this ... they are condoning it! We have seen this before ... history does tend to repeat itself. The good citizens of this country need to wake up before it's too late.

I was recently asked to name one thing Obama has done that is unConstitutional. Here is the response I gave:

You want one thing? EVERYTHING this administration has done, with the exception of sniping the pirates (5 days late) is unConstitutional.

Name which of the Enumerated Powers, granted by the Constitution to the federal govt authorizes any of the following:

Sending taxpayer monies overseas to fund abortions. Bailouts. 90% tax on the AIG bonuses (also known as a Bill of Attainder-specifically forbidden by the Constitution). The "stimulus bill". Most of the budget. Money not backed by gold or silver. Continuing the existence of, and even expanding, the "Alphabet Soup" agencies and departments.

Oh, man, I could go on and on all day. Every administration since Calvin Coolidge has violated the Constitution in some way. Probably his also, if we looked hard enough. The Obama administration is worse than all of the rest put together, and we have not even gotten past a full 3 months yet.

JOEL,

PLEASE GET A BLOG! I hear it is easy and free on TownHall.

You paste the same comments on almost every column, on almost every day.

After reading them on one column, your comments become more irritating every time I see them.

It is not that I can or would try to refute anything you say.

It is more like sitting in a waiting room, with nothing to read, that I have not yet seen.

Trust me. Irritation takes away from anyone's message.

Good article. Keep questioning
Great points Austin. It is a sad truth that ignorant people believe freedom and the 1st amendment work only for them and not anyone with a thoughtful opinion and God-forbid, facts. I'm hearing the same things, racist and Bush supporter because I know that Obama is a communist trying to destroy this country for a hostile takeover - well underway. I respond to both with a simple prove it. And I love to ask what Bush did that was so wrong and did the person vote for Obama because he is black. That would of course make them a racist. Not knowing what Bush did that was bad, or good, well that just makes my point about their ignorance.

Left vs. Right
I have not heard one legitimate commentator on the left suggest that it is unpatriotic to question the policies of the Obama Administration. On the other had the Right was all about how unpatriotic and even unamerican it was to question George Bushes policies even as he was taking the country off a cliff.

Obama enjoys so much favorable support in part because of the contrast between his conduct as that of GWB who will likely go down as one of the worst presidents in our history. Also it is not uncommon for people to rally around a president in time of crisis.

Even those of us to support Obama and that includes may Republicans are not in agreement with every decision he has made. But we are willing to give him a lot of latitude because we recongize the magnitude of the disaster that he inherited.

He will be given more time that most presidents to get things done. But at the end of his first term things have not improved he will be history and he know that. Of course, is he is successful, it will change the course of American Politics for a generation and will return far right conservatism to the fringe position it held before the Reagan Revolution.

I can understand why that would be troubling to a wingnut.

Today's Democrats are not rational peopl
Ask most Democrats a question about President Obama and you never get a straight answer. They avoid the question and answer another question. It is a pattern among otherwise rational people. Most people don't think of President Obama as a black man, they think of all the money he is spending at the cost of bankrupting the future of American.

Myrmidons ..
{Merriam-Webster} - : a loyal follower ; especially : a subordinate who executes orders unquestioningly or unscrupulously.

There will always be people who look to other people or governmental institutions for rescue, validation, or favor by ingratiating themselves or making the object of adoration into a near-religious figure. Such idolatry leads to the suspense of reason Mr. Hill documents.

The secular worshipers are mainly pathetic because they think their troubles will be swept away by governments, when it is manifestly in such a government's interest that they persist in a state of dependency. To imagine that one will no longer be required to honor one's financial obligations just because a particular individual has been elected president is delusional at best.

The ones who throw in with such thuggery, the myrmidons, are the truly dangerous folk. These are the kind of people who produce Department of Homeland Security "assessments", and are more than happy to act upon them as though they represent reality.

In view of the historical record, no one worth their salt would settle for government as a surrogate parent, much less as a personal savior.

v/r,

Wendy
You got to be kidding. A seventh grader could answer you questions. On Bush it might be better to ask what did he do right. On voting for Obama because he is black. I am sure that some Black people voted for him out of pride, maybe some other minority people because it broke a ceiling for them. So what, If someone from Albama were running I am sure he would get a lot of votes from his home state.

The operative issue in this election was that so many people were willing to vote for Obama insite of the fact that he was black and that says something wonderful about how far we have come as a nation. Even if you don't like his policies you can still can take pride in what it says about this country and yes that might even have gotten him a few extra votes. So what. Believe me if the country were gung ho for hiring another Republican President it would not have mattered what color any Democrat was.

Its time to own the fact that this last election was a referendum on Republican Conservatism and that country said no thanks.

JMO51, You Just Proved Austin's Point!
1. You changed the subject to George Bush.

2. You noted that people's support is based on emotion ("rallying around the president in a time of crisis,") not logic or facts.

3. You resorted to name-calling ("wingnut").

This is how Progress Begins
At least liberals are listening to Austin. This means he is drawing opponents to our side. Notice the contrast to conservatives: Many, like me, cannot turn on liberal radio or watch MSM on purpose, much less read one of their rotten columns. Maybe this is a streak of light.

Thou shall not question Obama
Mr. Hill = While the collapse started under Bush it was 'NOT' primarily his fault. History is Carter/Kennedy and others got the CRA passed. Clinton greatly expanded it. The banks were "forced" under "penalty of Law" to accept sub prime loans. "Derivatives have been in existence since the year 1400 - 1500. Fannie Mae - Freddie Mac sold derivatives. Banks also sold them to try to protect a mortgage portfolio that was full of worthless paper. Bush warned about Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae two major times with Congress and every year he was in office. <> Frank & Dodd told him to get screwed and then defended FNM /FM despite the scandal of billions in 2006. Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac hold 50% of all mortgages in US. You can say that banks and wall street got greedy and I agree they SHARE SOME BLAME but it was the Democrats that refused to correct the problem. Raines (Obama's friend) got a slap on the wrist. Jaimee Gorelick, Raines collected $26 million in bonuses respectively. Raines initially got a $90M golden parachute and pension for life.

"""FACT""" There are lenders "TODAY" that are still making SUB PRIME mortgages.

I have a copy of a letter from March of this year - to a person I know in Chicago offering to give her a mortgage with only (1) ONE of her monthly checks as a mortgage payment. This lady filed bankruptcy last year. Incidentally the lender is a block from Rev. Wrights Church.

question often
It is truly bizzare that so many are so passionate in their defense of someone completely unqualified. The puppet-president antics would be funny if he weren't, in fact, the president of our country. Arrogant, ignorant (until I see anything he's published, his GPA from Harvard, or observe him respond to ANY question without the assistance of a teleprompter and the accompanying "uuhs and aaahs" I will continue to maintain that he is in fact ignorant) and socialist ideals need to be questioned. Screw you sheep who voted for him and shame on you MSM - self-important wanna-be actors. This guy is and always has been a punk.

We see it everyday right here ...
in River City (TH), the drones have a MO and they follow it to a "T".

Freedom is not free. It carries with it the burden of responsibility to maintain it. The Tea Parties have nothing to do with racism or bigotry. They are all about "crisis", not the crisis BO speaks of but the crisis of the erosion of liberty through taxation.

Liberal Progressiveness is not new, nor is it forward thinking. It is merely a remix of Socialism/Communism/Marxism/Fascism under a more palatable name being instituted by a man that no one is allowed to question because of the color of his skin.

A Democracy where more than half the people don't pay any of the bills is on it's way down.

JMO51
liberal logic is the constant use of circular argument all the while ignoring the ridiculous double standard used with The Great O and GWB--The Great O hoodwinked and bamboozled independents who are awakening to the realization that the LIar-in Chief isn't who he said he was---as are many democrats--just keep lying to yourself ,tap yur heels three times ,there's no place like home,theres's no place like home,there's no place like home.
Oh where oh where has my teleprompter gone oh where oh where can it be---with my words cut short and my pauses long --oh where oh where can it be.

How Dare We Criticize a Black President?
One thing that has really been offensive to me is how knee-jerk supporters of Obama will bring race into the debate when you question Obama's policies. Aren't they just exploiting race? Can't they get beyond race at all?

Dave: Dixie Chicks
Dave, I don't believe that the Dixie Chick's problems were caused by trashing Bush per se, but by trashing him in a very public way in front of a foreign audience. I don't care if you disagree with whoevery PUSA is, but do it at home, not overseas or in foreign news media.

I have the same beef with politicians who go out of the way to get face time in the media for criticizing the President. I'm still waiting for someone in Congress to have the nerve to just tell the President, in private, that his march toward social democracy and fascism are antithetical to the U.S. Constitution and our way of life as we now know it.

I have no qualms with the Dixie Chicks voicing their opinion. I just think they should have done it at home and not in front of a huge foreign audience. What they did resulted in a very visceral reaction on the part of many. I for one was a huge fan and bought their first two CD's. Since they trashed Bush, and hence, my country, I haven't listened to them since.

SOMEBODY BETTER QUESTION THIS!!!

"How Obama actually delayed pirate rescue
SEAL team deployment stalled 36 hours, hampered by limited rules of engagement"

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=95451

"While Barack Obama is basking in praise for his "decisive" handling of the Somali pirate attack on a merchant ship in the India Ocean, reliable military sources close to the scene are painting a much different picture of the incident – accusing the president of employing restrictive rules of engagement that actually hampered the rescue of Capt. Richard Phillips and extended the drama at sea for days.

"Multiple opportunities to free the captain of the Maersk Alabama from three young pirates were missed, these sources say – all because a Navy SEAL team was not immediately ordered to the scene and then forced to operate under strict, non-lethal rules of engagement.

"They say the response duty office at the Pentagon was initially unwilling to grant an order to use lethal force to rescue Phillips. They also report the White House refused to authorize deployment of a Navy SEAL team to the location for 36 hours, despite the recommendation of the on-scene commander.

"The White House also turned down two rescue plans offered up by the Seal commander on the scene and the captain of the USS Bainbridge.

"The SEAL team operated under rules of engagement that required them to do nothing unless the hostage's life was in "imminent' danger.

"In fact, when the USS Bainbridge dispatched a rigid-hull inflatable boat to bring supplies to the Maersk Alabama, it came under fire that could not be returned even though the SEAL team had the pirates in their sights. "

Real Experience
I am 68 years old and, due to making a bunch of dumb choices, find myself living on Social Security and with a Medicare HMO. Sitting in the clinics you find a bunch of really ignorant people - black and white. Obama is seen as the lord of the handout who will make them better somehow with free stuff. The ignorance and lack of thought in these low-income, usually stupid people is unbelievable. They appear to believe Obama will tell them victimhood is good and should be rewarded with stuff they take from real Americans. Obama is affirmative action at its very worst.

Thanks for the advice, although I could do without the blue on blue fire. Bad day for you? I am working on setting up a blog.

However, the reason that I repeat some of my posts is for the same reason that retired geek and talent scout do: not everyone reads every TH article. Also, some things are important enough to repeat. (The message, not that I have to be the messenger.)

I am sorry that I have annoyed you. Be well, and have a good day.

~~~~
Joel-De Oppresso Liber,
I did not detect any "fire" in my comment.
If you have read others of my posts, you will understand I did not "fire" on you.
Since you bring the subject up, "The Geek" and "The Scout" do very wide researching, and write on a variety of topics.
This is more interesting to me. Sorry.
And the word was NOT "annoy" it was "irritate".
"Annoy" brings fire. "Irritate" brings what I hoped were helpful suggestions.
And, I wish you very good luck on your blog.
Please let us all know when you are up and running on it, as I WILL visit it.
Thank you for responding, and best wishes.
The Rat.
P. S. " not everyone reads every TH article. "
Ditto for Jacob, McCullough and Hill colums. :)
Questions need answers
In a group there is a propensity for being convinced of following a focused dogma that the clarity of thought is glazed or fogged over. All during the campaign Obama spoke well and with clarity aided by an educated speech writer.
In his delivery of those speeches he invoke that style of a holy roller which was a fall back on the early times of Martin Luther King style of speaking. It is in fact that the Democratic Party was in full flower of their anti-racial movement.
It is no coincidence that it has been adapted for this round of the post election rhetoric. Obviously the followers of the "Messiah" have a narrow frame of reference to common sense questions based on everyday life. Therefore, most who answer usually ridicule the questioner for being rascist.
JMO51
It will be interesting to see your response to Fran's post!!
JMO51 says: "I have not heard one legitimate commentator on the left suggest that it is unpatriotic to question the policies of the Obama Administration. On the other had the Right was all about how unpatriotic and even unamerican it was to question George Bushes policies even as he was taking the country off a cliff."
So, now there are illegitimate commentators on the left? Please tell us how to differentiate between them.
As for the right being "all about" how unpatriotic it was to question Bush, you should have no problem coming up with a few juicy quotes to substantiate your claim. Just make sure they're from "legitimate commentators".
Haaaaaaahahahahahaahahahahaha!!!!!
And on top of not questioning him.
he's not the brightest bulb in the socket. He doesn't know that America has 50 states and that Austria speaks German (not "Austrian"). He doesn't speak any language except English, and only then with a teleprompter. But wait, his word is supposed to be gold? Oh, I forgot. He went to Harvard, where they don't deal with such insignificant details.
Obama's visit to Latin America
Our young crowned Prince was being played like a fake Stradivarius , during his trek to Latin America. Shaking hands with the likes of Venezuela's shameless Chavez, palling up to Daniel Ortega, making nice with Raul Castro, may make good photo ops, but the boys in the band(its) are now congratulating each other for making the US look weak and overanxious to please. Promise them anything, Obama, but you might face a few roadblocks back home where disagreements and lack of trust for the above mentioned tyrants still prevail.
For all the drones who have...
been screaming about the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan over the last 8 years....
BO has spent more in less than the first 100 days of his Presidency to "stimulate" the economy than the total cost of those 2 wars over the last 8 years. In fact he has spent more than all administrations from Washington through GWB.
This administration has already deepened the current recession. If allowed to continue it's job killing micro-management of our business and personal lives while going around the world apologizing for American arrogance, there will come a social upheaval akin to the American Revolution.
Question all you want
I don't see anyone shutting you down Austin!
Keep using the 1st amendment rights you will ALWAYS have. Are you complaining about others using their own rights to counter your arguments? What gives? Maybe you need a better argument.
the uneducated
You can't argue with idiots. People who refuse to educate themselves are unable to state the facts, and to be honest, are very boring. Sound bites and name calling is juvenile.
Dead on Mr. Hill
You can see it right here on T.H.. The Libbies do not offer counterpoints. They attack with mindless rants.And the themes are usually two. It's Bush's fault or..., you're just a sore loser cause my guy won and your guy lost.
JMO51 is a master of the circular argument. He spouts big words and faux intellectualism. But it's still jabberwocky with no point.
Interesting, the names that came to mind
As I read Austin's article, my thoughts immediately jumped to our resident "minions" - and just how right on are the columnist's words:
Minions = Ranger29, Hal Donahue, JMO51, wrightswrong52, Taft, Left Angle, Bleeding Heart Liberal, Shorts, TR and Sophie... to name a few.
BTW, "wrightswrong52", I see no attempt by Hill to want to silence you minions - his point was your de facto states of denial and inability to have intellectually honest debates about your "dear leader".
JMO51
Obama became your leader through voter ignorance and just plain old stupidity.
I have ask many Obama voters questions that are very simple and they failed badly.
Some of these questions were:
Who is the veep?
Who was McCain's running mate?
What State did Obama live in?
Who said, "should politics turn ugly, I will side with the Muslims"?
After the Pres. & Veep, who is in line for Pres.
How many states are there in US?
What is Socialsm?
-----------------------------------------------
I asked other simple questions also.
Counting older people and college kids, the average correct answers was 3 out of ten.
That is why Obama is in the WhiteHouse.
The cult of Obama
The worship of Obama is a danger to the US. The cults of Hitler, Mao and Stalin lead to terrible things, and I'd hate to see the US go down that road. Jonah Goldberg's book on Facism by the liberals shows they have the mindset to follow this opressive road. Unfortunately, those hookwinked by malignant narcissists usually don't see reality until it's too late. And Austin shows they are out there and are unable to see the truth.
wrightsrong52
wrightsrong says: "I don't see anyone shutting you down Austin! Keep using the 1st amendment rights you will ALWAYS have. Are you complaining about others using their own rights to counter your arguments? What gives? Maybe you need a better argument."
Did you read the article?
The point is, he is getting negative responses that DON'T counter his argument. We "cons" welcome a good argument, but what we usually get from the left is a non-sequitur rant about Bush or racism. Just stick to the point, and when you feel the urge to rant instead of argue, think about providing a quote or a legitimate statistic to back up your argument. If you can't come up with anything, then you just may not have a legitimate argument.
Not until he proves it!
Obama will not be my President until he proves he has the right to be President! I want concrete proof of where he was born. I want concrete proof that he will use his "power" to stop the Liberal left from making a law controlling Freedom of Speech. I want concrete and final proof that he is not the puppet of the groups and organizations who helped him get elected. I want concrete proof that those who oppose him politically will not wind up in a concentration camp for daring to offer any criticism of his administration. I want concrete proof that he does his own thinking and is not just spouting what his puppet masters tell him to say. I want concrete proof that he is capable of being President by telling the Liberal left that the decisions he plans to make will be his and not theirs. So far, all I have seen is a government actually controlled by the Liberal left headed by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. No, I am not from Missouti and yes, I have been a registered Democrat for fifty-four years, longer than Obama has been alive! One Carter was enough for me.
HMMM
He's not my "dear leader". He's my president.
Criticize him all you want. No one is buying your rw drone arguments.
Austin sounds like he does not like the fact that people dismiss his arguments out of hand.
BHO was elected by people who are well aware of his economic policies. They are not concerned with your criticism of their implementation.
They are concerned with your rw inconsistencies concerning Bush's implementation of similar "bail out" strategies. Get used to the "attacks".
JMO51
Comes right out and does exactly what Austin Hill describes as typical minion-like behavior. Did this guy really read the article? WEll, of course not. He is a paid troll. They are not here to read and evaluate. They are here to make a buck by discouraging conservatives. The quality of their writing is discount house but their quantity is...discount house as well. Conservatives, just recognize them for who they are.
As I posted a few days ago
Liberal arguments
1. the I'm soooo intelligent approach. Faux facts and circular arguments.
2. BDS..... Bush lied people died, Failed Bush policies, Bush is a nazi, etc
3. We won.....you lost, get over it, your just a bunch of old white guys. ( this is my personal favorite. It shows their arguments to be purely emotional childish behavior)
It is rare to see a liberal post without one or all of these tactics.
writeswrong52 admits....
that he is a Socialist. At least you are honest about the fact that, as you say, "BHO was elected by people who are well aware of his economic policies. They are not concerned with your criticism of their implementation."
So wrightswrong, get used to the attacks because it does not matter who started it, Socialism has not ever and will not ever be conducive to free speech by free people who want to remain free to determine their own destinies without a government over zealous to micro manage our lives.
You may not have a problem trusting over paid and under qualified bureaucrats making your life decisions for you but I and I think most Americans do, at least the ones who aren't already hopelessly dependent on government.
Minky
read the article. Don't know what he's complaining about. Irrational responses?
Seems like he's rehashing the same 2008 rw election rationale to me. Now that it's being implemented he's doesn't understand why people STILL reject the rw point of view.
wrightsrong52
Mr. Austin did not present an arguement in the damn article. He was only describing the idiot responses to QUESTIONS....look up the word.
You should put your PC in storage until you learn to read.
You Socialist voters keep coming out with 5yr old yak yak.....Bush did it tooooo....you are racists tooooooooo!
The more you do that, the stupider you look.
Austin, Elliot, ormondbeach, JMO51
Austin
They scold you for questioning Obama because they know deep down you are questioning them.
If they refer to someone who speaks out about Obama and calls you a racist, they should look at their own ilk. On the day Obama was inaugurated headlines across the country were saying "our first black president" that unto itself is racist, because that is the first thing they noticed about him.
Elliot
"When fellow citizens call in to a call in show and give an opinion you don't like that is just how the country works ..."
Questioning (how can you say that about Obama) Austin, who expressed an opinion, is not expressing their opinion
ormondbeach
'Do you folks think there will be enough of them in 2012 to vote him out of office?'
Yes. 53% of Americans would rather live under Capitalism then Socialism, and the number is growing.
My wife, a stanch democrat, now feels he will be a one term president, even though she hopes not, but can read the writing on the wall.
JMO51
"On Bush it might be better to ask what did he do right."
You're still alive, right?
question everything
I question every president & what they do since L.B.J....
It is not only a rite of every American, BUT the DUTY of every American to not only question the president but to question the senate and the congress. To follow blindly any of the above is in the very least a dereliction of civic duty..
It is only by questioning our government, their motives, et. all that we as a nation may remane free..
But then again I am called a " bad American "..just because I believe in the constituion. personal freedom, that the government has no bussness in bussness.. in states rites. God. that every American has a rite to defend themselfs, family & property..that there should be hand-UP's not hand-OUT's.. ya-all get the idea..
Some good posts.
For those of you who really want to understand the liberal psyche, read the books by our own Dr. Thomas Sowell. Truly amazing insights.
Today's liberal either...
...does not want to SEE the truth.
...will claim that there is NO truth.
...or simply will NEVER ADMIT the truth.
Their agenda is "freedom" through government.
And they look to government through activism, legislation, leftists judges and it's support of academia, the media and the entertainment idustry... to make sure that their choices and their values be culturally acceptable and then become the "norm" in our society.
But tragically, many of these leftist are willing to pay just about any price to get what they want... even if it costs the rest of us our freedoms, our wallets and our security.
The only solution is for conservatives and moderates in our right-center nation to become fully engaged... from our families to our communities to volunteering to the electoral process.
Simply put - we must speak up and be ready to defend what we believe in... every day.
Now go out and pass the word.
hail to the chief
I predicted this situation wen the great one was on the campaign trail. Trashing Bush was O.K. for the liberals, but taboo for the Messiah. Free speech is reserved for the liberals, but not conservatives. Note the tea party. We are all a bunch of right wing extremist if we dare oppose anything the great on proposes. Sounds an awful lot like Hitler, Stalin.,and Mussolini. I do not like Obama, and I am not a racist. If he was white and conservative and was proposing the same plans, i would reject that also. Common sense escapes liberals, since they are blinded by their own hypocrisy.
wrongsrong52: "BHO was elected by people
who are well aware of his economic policies."
NO HE WAS NOT!
Most of the people who voted for Obozo did so because either he was black, or bought into his 'Change & Hope' dog and pony show!
And, even when those of us who recognized that he was reading right out of the Marxist Handbook, the people who ultimately voted for Obozo refused to believe that Obozo was a Socialist - Marxist!
Great article!
Good job Austin and excellent points! The entire liberal methodolgy is to create diversionary tactics and to NEVER, EVER DIRECTLY answer any penetrating question(s)! They have learned well from Saul Alinsky, as Obama has!
Sadly, I sincerely believe this is going to become only worse, and definitely not better...don't question the man who walks on water! He is going to take steps that will gradually erode our liberty and freedoms! More and more of us had better start questioning him and his administration more seriously, before we lose our freedom of speech!
I heard just this morning (if I understood what I heard correctly), that "he" plans to sign a bill on Tuesday making it mandatory to perform public/community "service". If this is valid, then beware of the "brown shirts" folks! Such a thing is not beyond the realm of possibility or reality...even in America!
Personal attacks
seem to be the standard response from liberals when Obama is questioned or challenged. This is seen from bloggers up to Congress (Nancy Pelosi) and the White House. True enough, the second line of defense is to change the subject - James Carville is the master of this. Meanwhile, issues don't get discussed.
Tea Party
You are correct. What the hell does he mean "new foundation?" We the People don't need a "New Foundation." We the People need to scrape off all of the crap piled on the "Original Foundation" -- The Constitution of the United States of America. Learn it, live it, love it!
I'm afraid...
...that what we may have to do is sit back and watch the policies these neo-commies want to implement get implemented and see the natural response to the policies. Higher unemployment, higher inflation, lower standards of living.
The desperation and privation that comes with Obamunism will manifest itself in a people with no hope for the future, and no interest in the common good of Americans because their own situations will be so dire as to cause people to worry about their own survival and to care naught about environmentalism and other Regressive cause celeb.
When we've hit the economic and spiritual bottom that will naturally progress from the social engineering experiment to remake the human psyche by force of government, then new patriots will stand up and take back government. It may take a calamity to wake up those who voted for Hopenchange to realize that hundreds of years of economic theory based on an understanding of the human spirit was actually right and the perverse economic philosopy of Marx was wrong.
LD35
It's simple to you a rw drone! If you voted for BHO you're a socialist. Ahh, no I'm not.
Do you feel stupid now?
Servitude
Don you are 100% correct!!!!
Lightning 11; Say it aint so!!!! public SERVICE should be on a voluntary basis...if it becomes a law that one has to then it becomes servitude..and a from of control..I'am sorry but I simply refuse to live under that kind of you..That is not what freedom is all about
Anne
He was indeed voted for because of his policies.
Most young voters were colorblind and are quite happy with his economic policies.
Apparently some on the right still feel he was elected because of his color. The reality is that he was elected despite his
background. It didn't matter to educated voters.
He is neither a marxist or a socialist so there
is nothing "TO REALIZE". It just sound like sour grapes. Still looking for his birth certificate?
Many conservatives questioned Bush...
...but few liberals will question Obamunism. We questioned him and opposed him on steel tariffs, medicaid prescription drug programs, failing to stand up to the democrats on Supreme Court appointments, and other liberal-inspired legislation.
But personally, I stood up more for him because of the hysterical rantings of liberals who had the gall to say that our civil liberties were being eroded because congress gave the CIA and military the green light to use rough interrogation methods on those who would slit our throats, and that the phone calls of those who would conspire with the throat-slitters are a threat to the freedoms of non-criminal Americans. Clearly they used lies on gullible Americans to create a threat to freedom out of whole cloth, while green-lighting true threats to freedom called the 111th Congress.
The fish have swallowed the bait.
The Leftists can be separated into 3 groups:
-The Obama-bots. These are the fools who can do nothing more than repeat slogans. Usually uneducated and etrememly emotional. Many of them utopianists, convinced "socialism" with bring some sort of earthly paradise.
-The cycnics. These are afer political power. Willing to tell any lie to push Obama's agenda as far/fast as they can. They realize that once the national debt explodes and vast new entitlements are in place, that Republicans will never be able to reinstitute the things they believe in.
-The greedy. These are the ones after "the free stuff". Usually uneducated, unable to grasp that any teensy income tax cut they get will be more than offset by tax hikes elsewhere, and unable to comprehend that Big Govt's track record of delivering quality programs at a reasonable cost is virtually zero.
Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you!
Thank-you Austin for stating things so clearly.
I live in Philadelphia. Anytime I try to discuss an issue, I get attacked with non-sensible comments like those you've sited in your column. It's so frustrating. At least now I know I'm not the only one experiencing the craziness.
wrightsrong52, if you are
not a Socialist, please tell us what you are? If you truly are not some form of Socialist, then pray tell why are you defending the man, who by his own admission that spreading the wealth around is his primary agenda.
We already have a perfectly good way to spread the wealth around. It is called freedom to WORK for profit, the more you do the more you have. Why do you suppose that Unions are backing Amnesty? Is that for the good of American workers they already represent? Or is it to provide an already overloaded welfare state with more voters to perpetuate government dependence and government power?
Don & Tea Party: Exactly right!!!
"What the hell DOES he mean 'new foundation?'"
No different from what I posted to wrongsrong52.
All we heard throughout Obozo's dog and pony show campaign 'Change & Hope' (which btw was Chavez' campaign slogan!)
While most of us on the right were asking, "What Change?" and "Hope for what?" the liberal media was too busy slobbering over Obozo to ask!
Of course, it's taken us less than 100 days to find out.. Socialism - Marxism!
This "New Foundation" sounds too much like a "New Constitution" and we already know that Obozo is not happy with the one we already have that's perfect fine.
Don, you're right... "We the People need to scrape off all of the crap piled on the "Original Foundation" -- The Constitution of the United States of America. Learn it, live it, love it!"
Farmer's Wife to true. The left has no
problem with overpaid, unprincipled bureaucrats making all of life's decisions for them. Here in CA the number of government dependent people has reached the tipping point wherein we seem to have a permanent Dem majority feeding continually at the government trough. The unemployment rate is now through the roof. Government of, by and for public employee unions is proving to be a complete bust.
Yes indeed when to number of those who see big government as their meal ticket exceeds the number who think big government is a threat to their freedoms we are all in deep doo doo.
CA's ways seems to be spreading throughout this once great nation. You must admit our dear leader did get elected on a platform of "Ask what your courntry can do for you. As president I'll make sure you get what you asked for!"
Healthcare, free education K-University, pure air, high paying green job, no hurt feelings, feel good immoral standards, a life free from cares or responsibilites are just a few of the promises from the chosen one. We must all join with that paragon of racial inclusiveness Michelle and shout with fervor "YES WE CAN!" "YES WE CAN!"
wrongsrong52: Oh pa-lease!
Where were YOU when blacks were interviewed? 98% gushed that Obozo was going to be THE FIRST BLACK PRES.
Where were YOU when countless blacks SAID they were voting for Obozo BECAUSE he was black?
And don't forget the countless interviews on the street...
Synopsis!
"Who are you going to vote for?"
"Obama"
"Why..."
"Because I like what he stands for."
"So, you like Obama's idea on restricting stem cell research?
"Yeah. I agree with that."
"And what about staying in Iraq until the job is done?
"Yeah. I think we should stay in Iraq and get the job done."
"And what about being pro-life?"
"Yeah, I agree with him on pro-life."
(And my own personal favorite....)
"And what do you think about Obama having Palin as his VP pick? You don't have any problem with that?
"No. I think that's fine. I have no problem with Palin being the VP."
~~~~~~
The Obama voters were INSUFFERABLY STUPID and UNINFORMED...

And if you really believe that they are quite happy with his economic policies, here's a news flash...

There were a LOT of demos, people who voted for Obozo, at the Tea Parties, and many who helped organize the Tea Parties.

It doesn't sound like they're quite happy with his economic policies.

It's Debatable
I don't think how to debate or argue a point is taught in schools anymore. These days, people are used to TV news opinion jockeys, who talk over their guests and only give them seconds to answer and their guests, who just shout out their party's talking points without adressing the questions. You even see it done by politicians during the presidential primary debates. It's a "Yes, I know you asked that question but this is what I want to talk about, not that," scenario. An even less informed public, that can't provide substantiation for their claims, will dodge the question altogether and resorts to name calling to silence the dissenting opinion. People, who would welcome a debate, just give up in frustration, not defeat.

Audacity of Hope Investment
So....over half of the smarty-pants voters got all of our nest eggs invested into this new "audacity of hope" plan. And, I've seen alot of movement in that company since everything I possess on this planet was invested in it for me. I must confess that I'm a lttle apprehensive since I didn't get to read any company reports before my investment was made.

So my question is; are we going to see that fat dividend check at the end of the first quarter? Or, are we going to find out that we got poked in the eye and had our pants pulled down by an Obamaponzi.....

presidential critics
It used to be a long standing understanding that former presidents did not criticize sitting presidents and vice versa.However both Clinton and Obama broke that tradition.I said way last summer that no one would be able to criticise Obama without being called a racist.

wrightsrong52 opines:
"He is neither a marxist or a socialist so there
is nothing "TO REALIZE"."
-----

Sorry. wrightsrong, but when it comes to politicians (of all parties) - and most people, for that matter - what they "do" speaks so loudly, I can no longer hear what they "say".

The broad expansion of government under Obama, particularly the interjection of government involvement into the management of private enterprises are actions of what can broadly be defined as "socialist".

You can choose to ignore this, blindly close your eyes and mind to it - or you can accept it.

Sitting there and repeating, "Nah, nah, nah... I can't hear you! - does not change the facts.

It is just juvenile and is a perfect example of the points expressed by the columnist.

You write as though you are still very young. Perhaps you'll someday mature beyond the emotional age of 30 and recover from liberalism - but the signs don't look too good, so far.

IOnce again
you rw drones sound like sour grapes to me!

Keep referring to BHO as a "socialist/marxist" instead of a liberal democrat. You sound extremist when you do so. Ask Bill Bennett and his sidekick Seth.

Keep defining BHO's economic policies as "redistribution of wealth" instead of economic stimulus. You imply that most BHO voters are lazy and don't want to work. That's just not true. 92% of all Americans who want to work have jobs. That was 95% back in Nov 2008 when he was elected.

Unions want Amnesty so they can have non working Hispanics vote Dem? I thought the Unions would want more dues paying ( read employed ) members? Am I missing something?

Well said!
A very dear friend and staunch supporter of Oblahma ALWAYS blames Bush---never Congress. And he never blames Congress for ANYTHING as though BO doesn't work in a vacuum. He could defend him by saying that Congress obviously agrees with him but he won't even do that! Believe it or not, he IS a brilliant man who can discuss issues with us anti-statists. His short cut has become "blame Bush" however. I am appalled at his new tactics as I know he is capable of more.

And, PLEASE, don't call Obama "African American". No one gets to pick their race as Obama has tried to do. He is a mulatto, plain and simple. Of course, with the issue of his natural born status still up in the air he may actually be an African and not an American.

Anne
that sounds at most like 100 voters out of millions. Sample size does matter with statistics.

98% of blacks voted for him because he was black? Is that what you mean to say? Or did you mean to say 98% of all blacks voted for him?

Countless blacks? There is a finite number.
I would say some blacks voted for him because of his race.

Approval rating still over 60%.

And what exactly would McCain have done differently might I add? Exactly what?

Primus
What would McCain have done differently?
Anything?

Continue to think your political opponents are dumb and you will continue to lose elections.

Calling your opponents socialist will surely bring credibility to your side!

Beg to differ
wrightsrong52
"He was indeed voted for because of his policies."
Wrong. A ' Top 10 reasons' poll conducted of youth, 30 and under, just before the elections found these top 10 reason they favored Obama.
I. John McCain’s age- "He could die in office"
II. The shrinking Republican understanding- "Don't know what they stand for"
III: Candidate Obama "really is The One"
IV: Obamas "young and articulate" charisma
V: Obamas use of the internet
VI: Money talks "Everyone is giving to his campaign"
VII: International opinion of the US- "Democrats say Iraq was a bad thing"
VIII: The "Bradley Backlash"- "If I don't vote for him, I'll be labeled a racist"
IX: The sour mood of the electorate- "McCain will be another Bush"
And finally the last reason that is of any political nature
X: The global world economic crisis

You ask how to spell permanent minority party? How do you spell permanent majority party no nit-wit? I spell it Socialist Marxist Dictatorship. And why do you noodle-heads think you are the only ones who understand words over two syllables? You are the ones who are intellectually challenged if you can't see that you can't spend your way out of debt. Eight years of Bush Bashing is okay, but a few months of revealing the real Obama and you twits have your shorts in a bunch. LOL!!!

wrightsrong52
By your post 90 it sounds like you don't know what a socialist or a Marxist is? Do you or don't you? If you do and you don't think there is anything wrong with communism (that is what socialism and Marxism is) please be honest with us (communists are never honest) and tell us why you don't see anythng wrong with it. While you're at it, show us an example of a communist country in history that has lasted as long as our republic where as much wealth and prosperity has been produced for as meny people. Where even the so called poor have clothing, shelter, cars, televisions, plenty of food and enought money left over to have drug and alcohol habits......

Elliott is missing the point
Sure people have the right to disagree with Austin. But do they have to be so pi$$y about it? I mean really, the people who thought Bush was the cause of every calamity and problem since the universe began cannot stand to have even the slightest hint of a questioning of Dear Leader.

That, Ellidiot, is why they demand Austin (and the rest of us) shut up.

Duh.

"It is the first resopnsibility of every citizen to question authority." is attributed to Ben Franklin.

It is an excellent quote to use in today's situation (and will get you on the Department of Homeland Security's list in a heartbeat) but conservatives are held to a higher level. So be sure and look up your quotes. It is easy; just type the quote into GOOGLE and hit SEARCH.

wrongsrong52: Changing the subject?

"Approval rating still over 60%."

NOPE! Not anymore!

"And what exactly would McCain have done differently might I add? Exactly what?"

Has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SUBJECT! (But a good liberal -and Marxist try... Another tactic right out of the Marxist Handbook.)

My questions for BHO
1)Would you consider returning the hundreds of thousands of dollars his campaign recieved from Wall St.?(you know...spread the wealth)
2) Are there any controls in place to stop the bailout cash from being returned to your campaign war chest? I do not like the idea of unions,etc,getting bailout dollars from ALL taxpayers, just to return part of it to the DNC.If not, then this clown will buy himself another election.

Obama has said he is a uniter, not a divider. Does anyone believe that he indeed a uniter and not a divider?

It doesn't appear people don't think you shouldn't criticize Obama. It sounds like they think you shouldn't criticize Obama for doing things that you did not criticize Bush for doing, when he did the same thing.

I know it would be nicer for you if people ignored your hypocrisy. But in a column that is pretending to be a celebration of the right of people to criticize things that they consider wrong, it is pretty silly to criticize people for being critical of you in cases in which you deserve it.

The message of this column is really, "Waah people are criticizing you." And the natural response is if you want to be someone who makes criticisms in public then you have to grow up and recognize that you are open to criticism too.

Anti Conservative Patriot
Conservatives believe in free market capitalism because they know it was established by the founding fathers and it has been responsible for this successful experiment in governing. It is simply absurd to assert that conservatives who believe in the republic (and the free market) are socialist or fascists

You can't wave the american flag, say you're a patriot and believe in socialism. If you do, you don't know how stupid you look, and you really shouldn't be out running around without adult supervision.

YES! I am a right-wing extremist
If loving this country wth a passion, and only this country, and wanting good things for all americans, rich or poor, black and white
and whatever religion, make me a right-wing extremist. I confess!
Sorry to say, I have a daughter who is on the opposite side from my aspirations for this country; but if I caught my daughter treating home coming service people like those traitors like Jane Fonda, I would slap her face, hard. People of her persuasion are in the drivers seat now, but what they are trying to forget is the 2010 elections.
That's what are driving them in their malicious attacks on the americans who are demonstrating their God-given right to protest.
As I said before, one thing these americans are demonstrating for
saneness in this country, we as citizens ought to get down on our knees and pray to God. I would rather kneel down to Him than to Obama. Obama has enough americans kneeling to him already. I am
amazed that all the media has not seen fit to endow him with a Halo yet. What are they waiting for.

AntiConservativePatriot
But this time around, it isn't just Bo Gritz and John Trochmann and Mark Koernke and Norm Olson -- the men who led the militia movement in the 1990s -- spewing this stuff, which is where one most frequently heard it in the 1990s.

The militias are a fringe movement and no more representative of conservatives than the Black Panthers or Weather Underground is of liberals. It is an insult for people like you and Janet Napolitano to label all of us as extreme because we don't agree with you. But, if you want to judge people based on extremist ideologies, it was Barack Obama who 'palled around' with an unrepentant extremist terrorist and sat in a church led by a black nationalist for 20 years. His claims that he did not know the bilge spewed out of that hateful man's mouth is as ludicrous as his claim that he did not bow down before a foreign leader.

I posted the below a few weeks back, written by a McCain voter.

I know it is fruitless to ask that you read it with an open mind, but perhaps you'll think about it when you are alone and not feeling the need to defend "liberalism" here at TH.:

"Yes, I have to admit.... My liberal friends were right.

They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation's hope would deteriorate, and sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any time during the Bush administration.

They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the Middle East, and sure enough tens of thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan.

They told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse and sure enough unemployment is approaching 8.8% and the new stimulus packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at any time since 9-11.

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of scandal, bribery and tax fraud.

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "Pork at the trough" in Federal government and sure enough, 17,500 "Pork Bills"showed up in Congress in the past three weeks...

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more deficit spending in DC and sure enough, Obama has spent more in 30 days than all other Presidents together in the history of the good'ole USA....

Well I ignored my Democrat friends in November and voted for McCain.

And they were right...

All of their predictions have come true."

"I say conservatives are slimeballs, plain and simple."

Another example of an ad hominem attack. It didn't do anything to dispute the argument. Here's more: The typical Barack Obama voter could list the contestants in this year's American Idol TV show, but couldn't name their two senators or their house member if they had to! If you asked them why the voted for him, you'll invariably get the parroted 'change, change', but nothing substantial.

That is not only unconstitutional but totalitarian. I agree that we need leaders that will rip the band aid off on these alphabet programs, however a president cannot just simply declare a SCOTUS decison null and void. You will destroy the Constitution in the process of trying to save it.

Barack Hussein Obama would have never been seated in the highest office in the land,except for these things,among others.
1.MSM
2.White guilt
3.Bush hatred
4.Acorn
5.Foreign money.
The mainstream media has been the number one reason we have had this charlatan thrust upon us. Had they forced him to reveal his true identity,it is doubtful any intelligent person would have supported him.

They ignored all his criminal past and campaigned for him 24/7,almost as if they were his campaign managers. They have let him appoint members of his administration with less than stellar reputations and said nothing.

I say that had he been a Republican,regardless of color,he would have been crucified by the media. He would have never been fraudently elected in Chicago,as he surely was.

The media is still protecting him. They are part of the socialist cabal who have put him where he is. They are using him to advance their agenda,which is the New World Order,in due time.

Yes, we conservativse criticised Bush for many, many things. Please come up with another argument besides "You are hypocrits" "where were you when Bush was doing this" blah blah blah. We have refuted you ad nauseum.

We had a problem with Bush acting like a liberal, such as the prescription drug fiasco, No Child Left Behind, and with TARP. Many of us had problems with Bush going into Iraq when Afghanistan wasn't finished.

Come up with another arguement. Of course, I realise that all you can do when we point that out, is stop your feet with your fingers in your ears chanting "I can't hear you."

Obama a Propagandist

Barack Obama Campaigned on Hope

Barack Obama Campaigned on Hope and Change.

Obama wrote a 46 page pamphlet generally describing what the 'Change' he wanted for in America.

Obama never defined what the 'Hope' was that he was bringing to America.

For several months on Town Hall and other websites, I asked Obama supporters to define the 'Hope' that Obama was professing to bring.

I received very few responses, and the ones I did receive, were basically some form of 'Bush Bashing'.

Barack Obama used an old tried and true form of propaganda and 'Brain Washing' - use a simple term, that has NO meaning, until it is defined by whatever the hearer wants it to mean.

It is possible in a country of 330 million, to have 330 million different meanings of the word 'Hope'.

Obama-Speak lets the hearer define 'Hope', any way they wish.

Barack Obama is a 'Master Propagandist' and used his techniques to be elected President and continues using them.

Ranger29 writes

"...all Obama had to do was to convince the American people that he was a valid alternative."

--That he would cut the wasteful spending...

--That not one single earmark would get past his desk...

--That he would post all bills on the internet for 5 days before signing them into law...

--That no one making under $250,000 dollars would see a single dime of their taxes increased...

--That no more taxpayer money would be spent to bail out Wall Street and big banks...

--That he would have the most transparent government in history...

Yeah...all he had to do to convince the "minions" was to be a better liar.

Convincing gullible voters that you are a "valid alternative" is one thing, and it might get you elected; actually being a "valid alternative," as many who voted for this Prevaricator-in-Chief are rapidly becoming aware of, is another.

What's the difference between George Bush and Barack Obama, except one thought his policies were helping America, and the other has no such delusion or desire to do so.

Bush increased the size of government because he thought it would help the American people.

Barack Hussein Obama is tripling down on Bush spending for the sake of increasing government; not to help the American people, but to rule every aspect of their lives and livelihoods.

He is proving on a daily basis that what motivates him is not to help the success of American's, but to punish us for having earned too much.

Using your logic applied to California--it was a state set up for the defeat of Prop.8, yet the proponents of same-sex marriage were soundly defeated by the "right-wing."

The measure on the ballot was only 14 words long -- a simple statement that "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

And supporters of Proposition 8, in what political analysts said was an extremely effective strategy, were able to convince voters of the most "left-wing" state in the union to "stick it to" [pun intended] to homosexuals.

Ranger29...Selective Boasting 2

Losing a battle in the "cultural war" does not mean we are losing the war.

And even if 99% of Americans were to be in favor of aborting babies and marrying same sex partners...where is the cultural victory in a unamimous enactment of a culture of death?

If we become a culture with 100% homosexual marriages, and 100% aborted fetuses--what is the victory in that?

Only a person who is completely and insanely self-destructive, self-loathing, and devoid of reason would think of this as a cultural victory.
