Is Barack Obama The "Moral Alternative" To Capitalism?

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Who ever imagined that in the year 2009, the President of the United States and the protesters who sought to disrupt the G-20 Summit would actually agree on something?

“Capitalism is immoral” was one of the phrases scrawled on several of the banners carried outside the summit meetings this past week. And although he has never said this in so many words, indeed President Obama would seem to be in lock-step with that assertion, or at least with the sentiment that the assertion entails.

But whether you’re a protester or the President, to assert (or even to simply “imply,” as Mr. Obama does) that “capitalism is immoral” is to invite a slew of crucial questions. And the first and most obvious question that this raises is, “what does this assertion mean?”

Presumably, protesters - - and those who think and believe like them - - intend to convey with their “capitalism is immoral” statement that the mechanisms of the free market have failed to produce “moral” economic outcomes. Executives earn too much money, non-executives earn too little. Business owners exploit their employees, and as a result the employees can never “get ahead” and gain new ground with their personal finances.

And it’s not just protesters outside the G20 Summit who believe these things. I suspect that a great many Americans think and believe that the free market has produced “immoral” outcomes, as well. But it is not sufficient to simply say “the free market is immoral.” If one really believes this, then one must ask themselves “what system would make for a better alternative?” Yet without formally asking this question about “alternatives,” most people who believe that the free market is immoral presume, almost instinctively, that an economic system with more government controls and mandates can produce a more “moral” outcome.

So let’s assume for a moment that this is true, that more government controls and mandates on business can produce a more “moral” outcome for the economy, and for the broader society. If this is so, then one must also answer this question: who is the individual person that is so wise, so all-knowing, so just and so good, that they can make all the decisions necessary to produce this “more moral” economy?

Don’t kid yourself - - this is high-stakes stuff. If the mechanisms of the free market - - that is, private persons and organizations who, driven by their own natural interests, seek to acquire the best possible goods and services at the lowest possible prices, and who seek to sell their goods and services for the highest price they can get for them - - if the decisions and behaviors of individual private citizens don’t produce a desirable outcome, then which individual can make all the “right” decisions, and mandate all the “right” behaviors, so we can all enjoy a desirable outcome?

People of the “protester mentality” don’t often consider these more detailed, more delicate, and more difficult questions. Yet, world history is replete with kings, queens, dictators, and - - yes - - even Prime Ministers and Presidents - - who are certain in their own minds that “as long as I’m making all the decisions, then things will turn out good.”

This is precisely the certainty that President Obama displays. In the past three weeks, alone, our President used his influence to oust the C.E.O. of the General Motors Corporation, and now appears to be more-less hand-picking a new board of directors for G.M. As was noted in a Washington Times article two weeks ago, Mr. Obama’s Treasury Department appears to be creating a new position in our government - - the office of the “U.S. Executive Compensation Specialist” - - a government appointee who will determine how much money business managers and executives will be “permitted” to earn, and who will also seek to take away earnings from Americans who are believed to have been paid “too much.” It also appears that, via the Treasury Department, Mr. Obama intends to have other CEO’s removed and replaced as well.

So is this the pathway to a “more moral” U.S. economy? Nobody questions that there have been serious failures among many American corporations. But does this one man, Barack Obama, know the banking, and insurance, and automotive, and healthcare, and energy businesses so well that he, alone, can determine what are “fair” wages, and prices, and practices in all situations.

Such an assumption of the U.S. President defies the limitations of the executive office as set forth in the U.S. Constitution. But constitutional limits don’t seem to matter to our current President.

So now it is left to the American citizenry and the U.S. Congress to determine if this one man, Barack Obama , is so wise, so all-knowing, so just and so good, that he can make all the decisions necessary to produce this “more moral” economy. How will the American people respond to this all-important question?

"For thirty years now we have cultivated a system in the United States that allows unregulated behavior and great wealth for the few, at the expense of the many."

I assume you're talking about Capitalism. You couldn't be more wrong. For many decades, capitalism has been highly regulated and yet still worked well enough to make everyone richer.

It is the government oppresion of capitalism that breaks the economy. Capitalism has it's own limiting mechanisms but our government doesn't allow those to work.

The creation of wealth from capitalism is what ultimately led to releasing children from sweat shops.

You operate from the entirely incorrect premise that increasing wealth for one, takes from another. You operate from many other false assumptions but after 80 or so years of being completely wrong, I doubt we'll see a promising epiphany from you anytime soon.

Put the blame where it belongs

"Nobody questions that there have been serious failures among many American corporations."

Yes, I do. There is simply no evidence that the banks had bad business models. The crisis was entirely caused by the government--when it enforced the mark-to-market rule--not the private sector. Now that mark-to-market has been defanged as of April 2, you will have unquestionable proof of what I am saying very soon, when the Dow rolls past 10,000 and the bank stocks recover. The correlation will be so clear, it may very well be the most clear-cut correlation ever in the history of economics, and there will be no denying it after that.

The government also interfered in any number of other harmful ways, including the CRA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, loose fiscal policy, loose monetary policy, credit rating rules, capital reserve rules, etc. The list of government interferences runs like a roll of toilet paper.

How can the very same people who claim that capitalism works and that government interference causes market failure, then turn around and "admit" that the private sector failed here? Get your belief system straight! The liberals are taking advantage of your doubt and confusion to push their "moral alternative."

"In 22 years, money will be eliminated."

No worries. A month ago, the medical profession diagnosed me with a seizure condition of unknown origins. But, their "expertise" was wrong because, three days ago, a pancreatic tumor was found through a battery of diagnostic tests. So, I will likely be dead long before your 22 year end of currency deadline. Killer, you do know, of course, that pancreatic cancer is a "real" killer.

My life now consists of prayer, treatment, gallows' humor and the financial protection for my young children.

And to think that, had my ancestors stayed in France, their guillotine deaths would have "saved me" and my money!

Killer - Give Yourself Death
Since Liberty is meaningless to you.

To assist you, long since have I been ahead of the curve...

I have driven a foreign car since I was 18. Expensive Europeans are my favorite, but a Japanese will do.

I refuse to buy anything "Union-Made" unless there is no other choice.

I converted my assets to gold, diamonds, silver, platinum and land long before the "bubble" burst (July), especially when it became apparent that His Barackness might be elected. Further, only my estate attorney knows in which country the movables are located.

I spend money only one day a week.

I have reinvested my income into my company so that I will be under the $250K figure.

I own my own home.

I send my children to private schools.

I will not send you a tire gauge.

I own a police-issued riot gun, along with other firearms that go perfectly with my 1000 designer FMPs, which will aid me handsomely should His Barackness' goons try to confiscate anything.

And, I have a $20M life insurance policy and trust funds for my two children in case I lose, but keep in mind that insurance proceeds are not subject to the death tax.

Keep living in your Otopia, because many with brains are far in advance of you. Either our assets are hidden or known only to our foreign estate attorneys.

Have a nice Jim Jones day and drink more Obama Kook-Aid. Oh, and fill up your gas tank, and more natural gas or petroleum products, including lipstick. And, I've got the alternative energy position covered, as well.

My businesses thank you very much.

You are preaching to the choir about happiness vs money. But it is nice to have both - I speak from experience. I was poor now I'm not - trust me being happy and well off, is much nicer than happy and poor.

If you're speaking about physical hard work then the garbage man works harder than the banker - but in general I disagree one profession works harder than another - they all have a degree of difficulty. Banking, stock market etc.. is mentally stressful for the average broker/banker. Which the garbage man doesn't have to endure. So it's a trade IMO.

And thanks for your concern - I'm quite ready for any turn this world takes, years ago I chose to move VERY rural. I hunt grow my own meat, milk, eggs, veggies (seeds), etc... I train horses and travel locally by horse back - it's much more fun than driving. Most people think if one has money they live wealthy or elite - not all of us do. It's a lifestyle preference.

Denise
In 22 years, money will be eliminated. You might want to invest in "Gold" now and save the "Rush". Money has never been necessary. I cannot discuss the true function of money in this forum but it came from "Nefarious Intentions". As you watch your future slip away. Please do not blame the President, it's history and retribution! SORRY..

"In Europe, many of my friends, that are 'Anarchist,' are saying we should eliminate Money."

They are advocating for the elimination of laws, too, as any good legal scholar has "seen coming" for ages.

"For the past 2 years, I have been writing a book, it is called: A World Without Money."

Evidently, you do hope to profit from hard work and ingenuity. Let us know when it becomes a bestseller, S.V.P.

"You just can't live without a good education? Any good "Economist" should have seen this coming?"

And, how would any good "economist" pay for an education in your "NO-Money-World"? In addition to your hallucinogens, remember to smoke a fa-g and save a child. (The "f" word being British slang for a cigarette.) You wouldn't want to have unhealthy children trying to attend their unfunded schools.

"President George Washington gave most of Northern Virginia to his friends and supporters."

So, not only was George Washington, who committed a war crime, signed a confession, and started a French-Indian War, he was a thief as well!

"This single act assigned Capitalism to 'Disaster'."

No, it assigned Washington, DC to disaster status.

"Turgot the Frenchman, who preceded Adam Smith, never intended for Preferential treatment to be the method by which 'Wealth' was to be distributed."

As a descendant of a French family that had to escape to avoid the guillotine, I have always believed "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, and the French are from France." Further, while Turgot was a leading Physiocrat, who attempted to reform the most stifling of his government’s economic policies. Probably his most important contribution to economics was to point out that CAPITAL WAS NECESSARY for economic growth, and that the only way to accumulate capital is for people not to consume all they produce. Of course in 1776, Adam Smith killed them with faint praise, arguing that the Physiocratic system "never has done, and probably never will do any harm in any part of the world."

"Most of the Wealth in the world is 'Stolen'"

Really? I have worked pretty damned hard to get where I am, as have most. Even His Barackness penned two autobiographies. Did he steal what he has? Gosh, YOU sound like you believe that Soros' the man behind the curtain...

"and not the result of hard work or ingenuity."

No offense, but you are insane.

He wants a partnership between business and government. Sounds reasonable. lilly

Please allow me to say thank you, for your kind words. Wealth is not even money but "Happiness". I would have to disagree with your statement regarding hard work. The Garbageman works harder than the Banker. The Janitor works harder than the Stockbroker. These being the facts, hard work is not the determining element, when "most money" is being decided. I could make many a million, just by exposing what I know. But you see money is not important to me. I'd rather see the world "Change" than just become another "Multi-Millionaire". What you are about to see will take more than money to "Survive"?

I find it VERY amusing too!!

I mean Bush is far from articulate, but er... he can ... err.... get through ....er... a ....er... press conference .... err.... without a teleprompt-er...

And the gifts! LOL! DVD's that don't work.

Narcissist loaded I-POD's -- LMAO!

Honestly it is SO FUNNY!

But the best was BOs' complete display of, uncouth, immature, bumbling of all POTUS to date....

A bow to the Saudi King - now that's a class act!!

And he did it all in about 100 days. I tell you Bo always has a stunning surprise for us, doesn't he?

And it's only just begun!

What's next? Trying to rationalize with the moderates in the Taliban? Oh wait -- he's done that too!

LOL!

Education is a good thing - but not always necessary to make one financially wealthy.

I am fairly wealthy as my 2 sisters and brother are - we are all self made. I have a close friend who I adore but cannot get to take ANY risk. She complains that life is not fair or equal - that some have more and some have less.

The truth is most people who have more, got it from hard work and determination. It wasn't handed to them.

The wealth of the nation could be spread out evenly and those who are determined would still become rich, and those who are not would still become poor.

None of us are equal and never will be, it's not natural for us all to be the same.

IMPOSSIBLE AUSTIN!!!
The major media used to tell us that those protesters were showing up to decry the bad man George W. Bush. Now that we have a good president, how could any protesters show up. I'm pretty sure everyone loves us now so I can't believe anyone has anything to complain about.

But perhaps it is the last vestiges of our capitalist system that they are protesting. So at the present rate of Obama's destruction of American capitalism, we should be protester free in only a few years. Go Barack Go!!!

Down Memory Lane
Back in the day when I sat in a college American history class, I got the distinct impression that unrestrained capitalism is DAMNED immoral. I seem to remember child labor, sweat shops, 16-hour days, 6- and 7- day weeks, no protection or compensation for workers injured on the job, and working conditions so unsafe that workers were smashed up by lousy equipment, poisoned by the work environment, and burned to death when they were locked into a firetrap factory. My old brain recalls that the Robber Barons got rich because the government helped them get rich and not because they were so brilliant. And when I really put my mind to it, I believe I heard something about organizers being willing to get their heads broken if that's what it took to form unions that would require decent conditions for labor, otherwise there would BE no labor. And that a unionized workforce helped to build a strong middle class.

Capitalism has given us much, but unless government holds the reins, capitalism is a mad horse that runs away with our civilization. I applaud Obama for pulling the reins a little tighter. He wants a partnership between business and government. Sounds reasonable.

If you travel in countries where government partners with business, you see beautiful infrastructure. You see programs that benefit the PEOPLE, not the few rich guys at the top. I am mystified as to why townhall people think that's bad. Sometimes townhall posters sound like the peasants defending the aristocrats. Why?

More Moral Economy
Leave it to Leftist elitist to believe that they can judge the morality of 2 people engaging in a mutually agreeable transaction via free choice. Only the superior Leftist can decide what is best for everyone else. And if anyone defies the superior intellect of the Left, they will be immediately re-educated into liquidation.

The arrogance of the Leftist elite is what is immoral, and it is repugnant to the most moral system ever created. And that system would be a free market capitalist system where individuals choose whether or not to participate in a commercial transaction.

The policies of the Left have been proven to be failures time and time again, it is amazing that anyone actually believes their lies and gives them power.

JO: You Live In Reality?
did you not state this nonsense:

"Obama is a bumbling fool, and a complete disaster. He makes Bush look like a genius."

Jo exactly WHAT planet would this be true on?..certainly not EARTH..ROTFLMAO...

I REST MY CASE..LOL OH MY GOD...

Why fairness?
Why do things have to be fair?

Killer if you have a job and your neighbor doesn't - it is unfair. But would it be fair to you to give your job to him and put yourself out of work, for his sake?

If you took all the wealth around the world and spread it out evenly the rich would still get rich and the poor would still be poor.

Intelligence levels, metal ability, physical ability, emotion stability etc... they all play a part - and none of us are equal in these areas. Which itself "unfair", nonetheless still a demonstrable fact of why equality and fairness simply cannot work in any society.

Capitalism mimics nature. Survival of the fittest, in turn, ensures our very survival.

Left Angle
I was against Bush for TARP, immigration and not standing up to the likes of Waters, Frank, Dood, Meeks and others involved in the banking fiasco.

I can think on my own, I don't parrot party for the sake of parroting a party. Apparently you do.

Inherited?? Ok if you insist then Obama inherited this economy from a *democratically* held congress.

DEMOCRATS have been in charge of this economy since 2006. In fact the house, senate and presidency has been under democrat control approximately 80% of the time in the last 100 years. The financial mess is largely their own doing.

Obama is spending TRILLIONS of dollars, more than all the POTUS combined - and you say this is Bush's fault?!?

You are not living in reality.

Obama is a bumbling fool, and a complete disaster. He makes Bush look like a genius.

Please name me one nation in history that has taxed and spent their way into prosperity? Just one. I'll be waiting.

TARP Oversight & killer

Presidents cannot spend money without its appropriation by CONGRESS, who has an absolute responsibility to oversee expenditures. Congress FAILED us terribly.

And, killer, if Capitalism is dead or dying, what economic theory, pray tell, would you recommend as a replacement?

Obamanomics?
Socialism?
Fascism?
Nazism?
Communism?
"killer" nomics?
Which have succeeded? Which is the "moral alternative"?

Aucun, keine, ??????? (nyet), nada and none.

For CEO haters, is Congress Any Better?

Do you know that a Congressman like Barney Frank will have a pension of ~$97,500 every year from the day he retires until he dies?

Do you know that he will get the top of the line healthcare for free until he dies?

Do you know that he will still be eligible for Social Security and Medicare?

Do you know that even the highest paid CEOs might be eligible for Social Security and Medicare if "means testing" is implemented?

Do you understand that shareholders can fire the CEO for any reason, but that Congressman ABHOR term limits?

Do you realize that Congress taxed you and your heirs without even reading the legislation?

Do you comprehend that most Liberals, who are wealthy, live in districts that are impoverished?

Do you really think that they care more about you than in their own power?

To use Tammy's word, it is "pathetic" that you constantly defend them?

BTW, would you like $90,000 in a frozen Eggo box?

That an ordinary human being can

bring about a true and just society has an innate contradiction.

A true and just society that is dependent on an individual is destined to fail because no individual is immortal.

Consequently, a system cannot be true and just if it is based on an individual. A true and just society cannot, by definition, be a temporary society.

Jo: Its called Oversight..
there was none under the Prez Bush and the former repub led congress you know it was that
"corporate welfare/trickle down voodoo reaganomics thing" you know..unbrideled freedom to loot the banks etc except nothing trickled
down just into the pockets of Bush and his crooked cronies...they should all be in jail.
Its exactly why we are in this mess we inherited from them.

The new rules may or may not pass in congress.
it hasnt been done yet so until then people like mr. a hill need to holster their guns.

btw: Prez Obama isnt a fascist dictator nor
hate capitalism. He is POTUS and he is attempting to clean up the MESS repubs Bush and the former repub congress left behind. I have no doubt he will be successful.

Austin
"This is Serious Stuff",you are right. Capitalism is under attack but not from President Obama! The attack is being waged by "History". Capitalism and it's outcomes have produced a history of exploitation and unfairness. I discussed the failings (Moral) of Capitalism with Senator Obama almost 3 years ago. I asked Secretary Paulson about the Context of our economic predicament almost 3 years ago. The World is asking some very serious questions about Capitalism and Democracy. Have we shown the world "US" best efforts or not. The answer to that question will determine our future. It is America that is standing before "Time" not President Obama. I could help but I won't! You did not listen,so prepare for the consequences. SORRY...

These assertions by Mr. Hill are also false
Moreover, Mr. Hill's assertions that Prez Obama because there is no legislation in front of congress to do anything he alleges in this paragraph.. left angle

Not exactly, it is in the works.

...

The new rules will cover all financial institutions, including those not now covered by any pay rules because they are not receiving federal bailout money. Officials say the rules could also be applied more broadly to publicly traded companies, which already report about some executive pay practices to the Securities and Exchange Commission. - NY Times

---------------------------

The Obama administration, has made it clear they plan to cap pay - even for those who haven't taken bailout money. As for BO's hate of capitalism - your right - fascist dictators don't hate capitalism they just want to control it.

Tammy
You fail miserably to understand our constitutional republic.

In this republic you don't have *right* to any of the things you mentioned in your post -- you have the right to pursue them.

People like you who want to inject capitalism with fascism are part of the problem we have today.

Capitalism mimics nature, fascism controls capitalism (nature).

We cannot stop or control nature. All we can do is adapt to nature.

Mr. A. Hill Misrepresent Prez Obama
Time and again right wing pundits misrepresent Prez Obama viewpoints for their own warped perception for what they think he represents (marxist socialism/communism).
to wit:

Mr. A. Hill states:

“Capitalism is immoral” was one of the phrases scrawled on several of the banners carried outside the summit meetings this past week. And although he has never said this in so many words, indeed President Obama would seem to be in lock-step with that assertion, or at least with the sentiment that the assertion entails."

First of all, as Mr. Hill admits, the fact that Prez Obama has never stated anything remotely like what Mr. Hill asserts, destroys his premise that Prez Obama is "in lockstep" with that assertion" from that point
falls compleley apart because it is based on a false assumption.

Mr. Hill also states:

"Mr. Obama intends to have other CEO’s removed and replaced as well."

These assertions by Mr. Hill are also false
Moreover, Mr. Hill's assertions that Prez Obama because there is no legislation in front of congress to do anything he alleges in this paragraph..Its all conjecture and speculation and the part of Mr. Hill with no specific proof to back his very negative contentions.

Pressure from Above & Below
1st of all, the word "capitalism" is Marxspeak. It's a straw-man proxy for free enterprise. Don't defend the Marxist term "capitalism," defend free enterprise.

I think what we're seeing is a rather blatant use of the Communist tactic called "pressure from above, pressure from below." The elitists will jump into the briar patch to "please" those with the leisure to make noise & street theater (including "rent-a-mobs," I betcha) instead of working.

What you DON'T see in this pic are the productive upper-mid-class & MODERATELY wealthy pros & entrepreneurs who make the economies work. They're working. They are nowhere near the 8 & 9 figure bonus class. Yet this kind of bogus envy-policy ALWAYS seems to hit them.

What we've seen since the Clintons' "great economy" of the 1990's has been a massive strategy to falsely discredit free enterprise, by using (or failing to use) the power government already had, to sabotage it & to blow bubbles doomed eventually to pop.

True economic justice rewards those who produce, & that is certainly not what is being demanded here, quite the contrary. Has anyone ever seen a Marxist state in fact spread ANYTHING evenly besides poverty & misery, while oddly enough always keeping its own ruling class in luxury?

The great vulnerability of free enterprise is that it DOES need government to defend its legit interests and to provide objective, impartial limits on what it's allowed to do (NOT micromanagement by "regulation"). When the elite rulers decide they want to loot free enterprise for their own political & personal gain, they create something that isn't free enterprise, then condemn it when it fails.

If central planning & totalitarianism were the answer, the Soviet Union would rule the world today, instead of being in history's ash heap.

Tammy - Reply #90 - Poverty? Care?
One has to wonder what country Tammy lives in, particularly compared to the majority of the countries in the world where government is even more involved in running people's lives than ours is. If you look at those countries, you'll see where we are heading. The failure of many who see the problems of inequity or injustice is that they fail to find the causes and fail to consider fully the alternatives. They forget how far we have come in wealth, health, and leisure in the 40 years since my childhood.

An excellent example of the problems we face under our Democratic Socialist/Fascist regime was reported last night on 6 Minutes (CBS). [See http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/04/03/60minutes/main49 17055.shtml]

The 60 Minutes report concerned cut-backs in services to cancer patients at the public hospital in Las Vegas. Due to budget shortfalls, it was necessary to reduce or eliminate the cancer treatment provided to those who could not personally afford the care. A $20 million shortfall was noted. My wife said, "This is so unfair, so wrong." What she didn't see is that this is characteristic of ALL government provided health care. It is always subject to budgets and limited. Only privately paid health care is able to expand to meet demand. If the system needs $20 million to care for indigents, how many celebrities or executives that spend their fortunes in Las Vegas could donate that? What private, charitable care could be provided if government payment was not assumed? Will anyone create a oncology based system similar to the Shriners orthopedic, burn, and spinal care hospitals - which serve anyone for free? Other alternatives exist and were provided before government became the charity of choice.

Tammy The Communist - II
"Could it be our lack of concern for the worker?"

Of course you are right. The Chinese have more concern for their workers than does the US with SS, OSHA, EEOC, etc.

"for those who are not employed or are unemployable?"

We have the best safety net on the globe, if one affords himself of the protections.

"Could it be our lack of regard for education?"

We spend more on education than most. In fact, if dollars spent on education was any indication, then the public school students in Wash, DC. would be geniuses.

"Just what is it about us that makes us less in the sight of others than we see in ourselves."

Personally, I don't give a flying f*** how Chavez or anyone else looks at us.

I won't ask you, "Are you now or have you ever been a Communist?", because such is as fruitless it is evident.

Tammy The Communist - I
"If you listen carefully, you realize that Obama is not saying the capitalism is immoral; he is saying that Reaganomics is immoral."

Since when is personal responsibility immoral? You do realize that Reagan was a Democrat before he learned that they wanted a freedomless, Nanny State? Read "A Time For Choosing" if you want an education about the "Reagan Reality".

"When you think about it, what does it say about us when so many people do believe that
capitalism is immoral."

How many finger and toes do you have? In addition to the anarchists, communists, socialists, and whiners, you might find a whole 20 that believe capitalism is immoral.

"Apparently they are not as taken with us (the ultimate representative of capitalism) as we like to think."

Who? The G-20 rioters that never would have survived but for the capitalism that gave them sustenance.

"Could it be our poverty?"

Yes, the richest country in the world is poorer than Kenya and Zimbabwe.

"Could it be our abysmal health care system?"

I lived in GB and France and when they choose to pay they use the pharmaceuticals, surgical techniques, and therapies developed here. Gee, in China they don't even wait for you to die before cutting out your organs for transplantation.

Terrific posts!

My observations (as a "Chicagoland" resident):

1. Polling indicates that the typical Obambi voter had no clue regarding the PARTNERSHIPS of BO with terrorist Ayers, racists Wright and Farrakhan, the Marxist Democratic Socialist Party (See the New Party), or ACORN. Without the support of these, he would not have been elected Dogcatcher.

2. There was a virtual blackout on BO's campaigning for Communist Raila Odinga in Kenya by both the conservative pundits as well as the GOP.

3. In the absence of any real MSM coverage of the above, the constant theme of "racism" implied for a non-Obama vote was the deciding factor in his election.

Austin Hill
If you listen carefully, you realize that Obama
is not saying the capitalism is immoral; he is
saying that Reaganomics is immoral.

When you think about it, what does it say about us when so many people do believe that
capitalism is immoral. Apparently they are not as taken with us (the ultimate representative of capitalism) as we like to think. Could it be our poverty? Could it be our abysmal health care system? Could it
be our lack of concern for the worker? or
for those who are not employed or are
unemployable? Could it be our lack of regard
for education?

Just what is it about us that makes us less
in the sight of others than we see in ourselves.

The author of this article, Austin Hill, writes:

“Capitalism is immoral” was one of the phrases scrawled on several of the banners carried outside the summit meetings this past week. And although he has never said this in so many words, indeed President Obama would seem to be in lock-step with that assertion, or at least with the sentiment that the assertion entails."
_____________________________________________

Oh...but he did say so, in so many words when he lamented about the Constitution in 2001:

“It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it's been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. “

“Says what the states can't do to you. Says what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government MUST DO on your behalf.”

“And that hasn't shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court-focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that.”

"Redistributive change" means a change AWAY from Capitalism.

So when you say "he has never said this in so many words, indeed President Obama would seem to be in lock-step with that assertion, or at least with the sentiment that the assertion entails."

You shouldn't be surprised now.

If you read what we were telling you for all those many months leading up to the election, you have no reason to be.

The very nincompoops who claimed that their "civil liberties" were being taken away by Bush/Cheney tapping foreign cell phone transmissions, in their attempts to combat Islamic jihadist's designs on destroying our nation from within, cried, “Bush is taking away our freedoms, Bush is imposing on our liberties, Bush is spying on Americans, he’s tapping our cell phones!!”

Now these “progressives” are being treated to the news that the Obama administration and his Democrat Socialist cabal of dictatorial Congressional despots, after already taking over GM and Chrysler and spending trillions of dollars of their grandchildren’s futures so Obama and his friends can wine and dine on $100 a pound imported Japanese beef and sneak million dollar bonuses in to their Stealfromus bills to reward Timmy “The Tool” Geithner’s banking and Wall Street buddies, are now, in the process of trying to pass bills that would give Obama’s ACORN thugs access to your private email accounts and private internet communications. Not because of any “Overseas Contingency Operations” to prevent "state sponsored human-caused disasters" but to keep tabs on regular American citizens’ private communications.

The liberal Obama-slobbering robot idiots who voted for this Lone Stranger, voted upon themselves and us all, a regime of Socialist dictatorship under a Democrat Party that would subvert the Constitution, take our earnings to spend as they wish, and one whose President and Congressional representatives hold nothing but disdain for the very Constitution that guarantees our right to avoid their authority to do so.

When the $h!t does hit the fan, you will be held accountable.

When that time comes, don’t say we didn’t warn you.

How can we expect Barack Hussein Obama to "protect or defend" a Constitution whose principles he fundamentally disagrees with? With less than 100 days in office, he has proven beyond the benefit of a doubt his subversive intent.

“Protect and defend the Constitution?”

Believe in Capitalism?

His [and the Socialist-Democrat Party's] redistribution of wealth package is all the evidence I need to convince me that he [and the Democrat Party which is lined up to give him free reign] has no intention of doing either.
As far as I’m concerned, if he were a citizen, he would be a traitor.

Why should anyone be surprised now, when he travels around Europe, and anywhere else they’ll listen to him, trashing America’s “arrogance,” and proclaiming “Europe’s leading role in the world?”

The only “leading role” I see Europe playing, is to take the lead in allowing the takeover of Islamic extremism and Sharia law. Perhaps that’s the lead our Islamic president is seeking to follow.

The views John Kerry shared on his opposition to a tax cut/tax holiday type of solution to the so-called "economic crisis" facing OUR free-market businesses and the citizens who created and maintain them; that he and the other Democrat Party hacks in Washington D.C. are the ones who know best how to invest OUR hard-earned money, is a view shared by Barack Hussein Obama, himself.

Enemies of the Constitution Govern 4

Barack Hussein Obama on the Constitution continued:

“It [the hated Constitution of the United States of America] didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it's been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. “

He continues to spew:

“Says what the states can't do to you. Says what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government MUST DO on your behalf.”

Sound like he likes Capitalism to you?

For you brainless liberals, that translates into F**k your rights!!

He further vomits:

“And that hasn't shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court-focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. If I am given the choice, as I obviously am now, to support the President or the Constitution of the United States of America--the choice is a clear one for me.

I chose to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign AND domestic...

...even if that means not supporting a President who, although taking the same oath, considers the Constitution a flawed document.

Enemies of the Constitution Govern 3

Seven years before Barack Obama's "spread the wealth" comment to Joe the Plumber became a GOP campaign theme, the Democratic presidential candidate said in a radio interview the U.S. has suffered from a fundamentally flawed Constitution that does not mandate or allow for redistribution of wealth.

In a 2001 taped interview, Obama can be heard telling Chicago's public station WBEZ-FM in 2001 that "redistributive change" is needed, pointing to what he regarded as a failure of the U.S. Supreme Court under Chief Justice Earl Warren in its rulings on civil rights issues in the 1960s.

The Warren court, he said, failed to "break free from the essential constraints" in the U.S. Constitution and launch a major redistribution of wealth.

But Obama, then an Illinois state lawmaker, said the legislative branch of government, rather than the courts, probably was the ideal avenue for accomplishing that goal.

In the 2001 interview, Obama said:

“… the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical.

If the supporters of Barack Obama out there didn't know what a Party led by the likes of Harry "The War is lost" Reid, Nancy "I'm trying to save the planet" Pelosi, and Barack "We need to spread the wealth around" Obama thinks about your "freedom of choice", Democrat hot-shot Senator John Kerry's comments:
_______________________________________________

John Kerry: You Know What's the Problem With Stimulus Tax Cuts? All That Freedom.

His argument against tax cuts for Americans during these hard economic times was illuminating:

"I've supported many tax cuts over the years, and there are tax cuts in this proposal. But a tax cut is non-targeted.

If you put a tax cut into the hands of a business or family, there's no guarantee that they're going to invest that or invest it in America.

They're free to go invest anywhere that they want if they choose to invest."

Kerry’s opinion is in lock-step with the fundamental anti-Constitutional one of His Husseiness, Barack Obama. If you would have heeded the evidence that was presented to you time after time, running up to his election, you would have recognized the handwriting on the wall.

If you would have taken seriously the rantings of his 20 year pastor and mentor, Rev. Jeremiah "Goddamn America" Wright, you would have smelled the coffee.

If you would have read and understood what he was telling you in his autobiographical manifestos about his seeking out Marxist professors and radical students you would have understood where he was coming from.

If you would have studied the writings of his best friend old Frank Marshall Davis you'd have no reason to be surprised.

If you would have spent as much time vetting his Chicago hometown as thoroughly as you vetted Sarah Palin's you would have waded through the sewer of his criminal activities while serving in the Illinois legislature, and know he was incorrigible.

If you would have not ignored his close association with William Ayers and brushed it off, you would have realized that they both held the same views about Capitalism.

But you chose to be "politically correct" and give the "black" man a pass because you were to cowardly to go against the tide.

You closed your eyes, held your nose, sugar-coated and covered up the stench of his associations and kept your mouth shut.

You went with the flow.

And now you all want to act like you're shocked by his hatred of you? Of your Constitution? Of your Capitalism? Of the America for which you fooled yourselves into believing you wanted his "Change"?

In less than the 100 days prescribed to
incoming Presidents, Obama has turned this country into something no one can define, such as socialism, capitalism, quasi this and quasi that. It is merely him doing what he believes he must while holding a few sacred cows immune.

I can't fault him for doing what he feels right and using his capital to accomplish same, however it is the exceptions that are scary and infringe upon my analysis of his character.

His flaws for the most are well outlined here on Townhall. His handlers hopefully pay note.

Wendy's post
I see much wisdom in Wendy's voluntariness perspective. Pondering for myself why capitalism might be referred to as "immoral," the answer I came up with was, "how can it be, when all of the transactions it involves are the result of free and individual choices?" In other words, one would have to disdain freedom in order to be opposed to capitalism on moral grounds. Seems simple as that to me.

The More Progressive Things Change...
Was Progressive Hero, Woodrow Wilson, worse than George W. Bush?

Before considering, know that I am a Constitutionalist Independent, I would have been placed in one of Wilson's indoctrination camps because I consider his crimes worse than those of Nixon. Why?

a) The Federal Reserve.

b) His support of segregation and eugenics.

c) The committal of suffragettes to mental institutions.

d) The "Wilsonian" Dime, which incorporated Roman fascist symbols.

e) The imprisonment of ~150,000 Americans, who had the audacity to use their 1st Amendment rights to speak out against his "fascist" policies.

f) His suppression of the Antiwar movements.

g) His taking control of private businesses, i.e., the railroads, etc.

h) His Fourteen Points, which led to the League of Nations, that we didn't even join. Of course, it did lead to the disastrous United Nations.

i) His participation in the Treaty of Versailles that imposed impracticable war reparations on Germany, which led to the failure of the Weimar Government and the rise of Adolph Hitler and WWII.

j) His stroke that wasn't fatal.

Granted I offer only St. Denis' (my real name) 10 Points, but they were at least Constitutional. Unfortunately, Progressives adore Wilson, whose fascism, as represented in his dime, was only supplanted in 1946 by the FDR dime that celebrated his near totalitarianism. Some things never die! The may fail miserably, but onward forever...

Capitalism and Barrack Obama
It is difficult for me to comprehend that you would not have seen this radical behavior of Barrack Obama prior to this summit. Capitalism, with it's faults, has created the greatest country on earth and MOST Americans know that. What you have is a constituency that wants more. Even my own daughter said that she wants "some". Freebies. The thing that is most difficult for me to swallow as an American are the people who are pushing his Marxist agenda. What is their "payoff"? Chris Matthews can make millions of dollars just bashing people who are so much more intelligent than he will ever be, just because they are not liberals. The liberal talk show hosts only have to do one thing...bash the right and conservatism. Oh that I could turn on my country with such ease...but I can't. Obama telegraphed what he was going to do and he knew the constituencies he could count on. African-americans will vote for him if he was Hitler. The unions will vote for him because they were told to. We can only hope that the real Americans will wake up..vote for conservatives and block this President at every turn. He cannot and must not succeed at socializing our country.

Morals of the Messiah
He speaks with "forked tongue". Read the following comments from Czech citizens:

Petr Sramek, 33, was among those disappointed that Mr Obama had not dropped a policy that was opposed by more than two thirds of Czechs.

"I really liked the clear message on nuclear disarmament but I am against the missile defence system. It is more about geopolitical influence then defence against missiles."

Arena Protivinska, 30, described herself as a "big fan" of Mr Obama but accused him of "hypocrisy" for urging world peace while also pushing forward with the missile shield.

"He sounded like George W Bush saying that we should be afraid in order to justify missile defence."

Another living creature that has a "Forked Tongue" is the venomous Cobra.

What is moral
With regard to the question of the morality of capitalism, the very fact that capitalism is the system of *voluntary* trade and interaction is what makes it moral. It is moral by the very fact that all its activity is voluntary.

The leftists seek to evade that fact, that the outcome of such a system IS the right outcome by the very fact that the effects are all the result of voluntary action. They seek to abrogate the Law of Identity, to ignore the nature of what exists: Some participants are irrational or unproductive, and others are rational and super-productive. They seek to make an end run around the Law of Causality, to ignore the fact that unequal wealth and high executive salaries are the effect, the cause of which is their higher level of productivity. They wish to ignore the fact that the rich DESERVE their wealth.

They call capitalism immoral precisely because under such a system, people get out of it what they put into it, and they call statism moral because it denies people the results of their labors and substitutes them with whatever is dictated by the left's envious, hate-filled whim. The root of their viewpoint is hatred and envy. They hate the successful, the rich, and the happy for being so. They want to take them down, not lift up the impoverished.

More Government Meddling
U.S. May Oust CEOs

By Jesse Westbrook

April 5 (Bloomberg) -- Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said he’s prepared to oust the senior management and boards of directors at banks that require “exceptional” assistance from the U.S. government.

“If in the future, banks need exceptional assistance in order to get through this, then we will make sure that assistance comes,” while ensuring taxpayers are protected, Geithner said today in an interview on the CBS “Face the Nation” program. “Where that requires a change in management and the board, then we will do that.”

Geithner noted that American International Group Inc., Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had their chief executives removed after it became clear the companies couldn’t survive without government rescues. The Treasury is reviewing how much capital the biggest U.S. financial companies need in order to endure a severe economic downturn.

“Where we’ve had to do exceptional things,” the government has replaced management and boards of directors, Geithner said.

The arrogance...
..of this pathetic little street protester is amazing. This article hits it right on the head. The community organizer in chief and his equally dogmatic staff (numbering in the hundreds because he knows so little actual information about how a government should work) thinks they can make the economy and the daily transactions of millions of people work better than the people themselves.

Just because some people don't have a functional understanding of just what power they have over their own economic outcomes, because of the socialist education lobby continually telling them they are powerless, helpless victims of nebulous boogiepersons, doesn't mean that people can't fend for themselves. Government will do no better, and will do much worse because of the ignorant decisions that government will inevitably make that will hurt more people's health, well-being, and destroy freedom.

Capitalism is freedom. Socialism is slavery.

not bad
1 The government can not legislate morality, because you are either moral or with out morals. The future will judge the past.
2 The government can not outlaw stupidity either individually or as a group, because many stupid acts started out as "good ideas".
3 Words do not have meaning, only actions speak.

Senator Hutchison:

You are reportedly on the fence about the resurrected "Dream Act."

You have shown wisdom on other issues...I urge you to OPPOSE the Dream Act, which would give free college tuition and a path to citizenship to ILLEGAL aliens.

There should be NO REWARDS WHATSOEVER for being in America ILLEGALLY-- PERIOD!

We should INSTEAD simply enforce our existing laws, which would lead to attritive repatriation with minimum deportation expense.

No jobs, no freebies-- no stay!

We should welcome ONLY LEGAL immigrants, who should offer education and skills America can use...most ILLEGAL aliens will inexorably become HUGE net drains socio-economically.

As a border state senator, you are surely cognizant of the myriad social pathologies which are concomitant with ILLEGAL aliens. Many states have had to pass local measures to resist the insidious negatives foisted upon them by ILLEGAL aliens.

Thanks for considering my viewpoint. We appreciate your service to America.

Respectfully yours,

You are partially correct. Politicians for example, set the rules and regulations for the resultant 'Mortgage Crisis'. They were attempting to have, as you put it, a 'Level Playing Field' for home ownership.

I think a sports analogy fits here - teams will sign players for high salaries and bonuses, in hopes they will be productive and win.

Many times these athletes DO NOT produce, but the Athletes still receive their bonuses and salaries in most sports.

You seem to have the idea that executives have little if any effect on a business and are merely 'Bosses' or place holders.

Some top level executives have histories of 'Success' and even then they fail - just like athletes.

One interesting story is about Avis - who a few years ago was destined for bankruptcy and was turned around by hiring one man.

His simple solution was to make all executives work at times on the Avis desk renting cars.

One famous Japanese executive said his success lay in managing by walking around and watching and listening to workers.

I worked several years as a management consultant and found that rarely was a failing company 'Fixed' by one solution.

Usually the problem is NOT the lack of 'Genius' within a company to solve its problems, but a lack of communication between key individuals.

When a person accepts a job - whether an hourly position or salary for their days work - what should it matter what anyone else makes?

There actually was a level playing.....
field 60-70 years ago and before. Someone with little or no formal education could become an owner of a business that kept growing, a middle-income earner...or more, a leader in many entities. However, because of ever-evolving social mores and political correctness, the level playing field has diminished for many. Today, someone who wishes to succeed must pay their dues for a liberal university education in order to be considered for promotion.

RE: EQUAL OUTCOME
Winston Churchill has for too long been considered a philosopher to be admired. He was not that person. He was an exhorter, yes, but he was very relieved to have the US enter WWII because he would not have been able to hold out much longer. Anyone who believes that outcomes should be equal does not belong in this country. Who really believes we all should be equal anyway? Only those who wish to rise to power through demoralization and trickery. For centuries we have all known and accepted that our status in life would not end up the same. BUT.....to have the same opportunities to grow in whatever way we wish to grow......that is the crux of liberty.

Each of us has different aptitudes, but now we are being told by our government that we should all be equal. No two US citizens will ever be alike. Remember, we are guaranteed the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We each pursue different goals. And that's as it should be.

the crippling costs of "cheap" labor

There are SO MANY disingenuous, fatuous myths about the supposed benefits of tolerating ILLEGAL aliens. A key verity is that they are SURELY NOT cheap labor all-in... miscreant employers simply pocket the "savings," but the myriad concomitant socio-economic costs to society and taxpayers are DEVASTATING to America.

The apologia for them smacks of the same arguments which had been used to defend slavery, and the legacy will be just as terrible. (see $11 TRILLION wasted on Great Society programs) The 'Crats are already effectively reprising "40 acres and a mule-- then you can vote like your friends do." The ObaMessiah, et al, cannot wait to get them voting, and are NOT waiting for them to earn citizenship to vote.

If we legitimize ILLEGAL aliens with licenses, etc., we will doom America to morphing inexorably into a deteriorating welfare state.... ILLEGALS will vote 95% for the left... the other 5% will mis-vote because they cannot read what they are handed in Spanish. mass deportation is a straw man problem

A popular straw man challenge proffered by the left, lawbreaking employers, and ethnocentric Hispanic advocates is--> surely we cannot deport 12 million ILLEGAL aliens.

Actually, if the feds admit to 12 million, they KNOW that the REAL number is higher. In any case, we can get most of them to repatriate attritively simply by having the will to enforce EXISTING laws.

First, body slam the crooked pols who cater to them.

Second, insist that EXISTING laws be enforced: build the wall, crack down on employers, and stop the freebies to ILLEGALS, including tuition. No jobs, no freebies --> NO STAY!

Require proof of citizenship to function PERIOD-- citizens prove who we are CONSTANTLY for employment, travel, etc. Expired visas will not cut it! The possible threat of terrorism is yet another reason to require proof of a right to be residing in America.

No papers? Then NO job, NO apartment, NO drivers licenses, NO social services.

As Az. has done, kill bilingual education-- learn or return!

Revamp LEGAL immigration to emphasize education and skill sets-- just as responsible countries do.

NO PATHS TO CITIZENSHIP FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS-- PERIOD! Let them go back and start from scratch-- most would not qualify to return!

Reinterpret the 14th as intended; just as children of diplomats born here are not citizens, ILLEGAL madres should not be able to push out excuses for family welfare.

A nation which loses its borders and sovereignty ceases to be a nation. America is too special to lose to an invasion of the willfully culturally disparate and ignorant indigent. We CANNOT be the welfare state for Latin America's socio-economic failures and plutocratic governments.

speaking of ILLEGAL aliens...
The Conspiracy of Evil

The biggest challenge to stopping ILLEGAL aliens is that the money and organization (hence power) is mainly on the pro-ILLEGAL side. The pro-ILLEGAL forces include an unlikely, strange bedfellow alliance between groups which want to USE them in different ways--> the Conspiracy Of Evil.

Miscreant employers obviously simply want to exploit their labor-- never mind the myriad, egregious socio-economic problems they foist on America... hence, their all-in costs to society are immense and snowballing. Furthermore, the "savings" to miscreant employers are pocketed by them --> your hotel room or head of lettuce is NO cheaper to YOU.

The PC left wants to get ILLEGALS voting and seize permanent control for leftist "elites" via yet more inexorable big entitlement government... power flows to statist 'Crats/the left when YOUR tax $ flows to Washington. Try to find a liberal who does not really favor scamnesty, while feigning talk about enforcement first.

The scandal-plagued Catholic Church needs replacement bodies for the pews; and ILLEGALS can put more in the collection plates in America than in Mexico... the Church still has mega-millions to pay out for priest perversion (after deciding to forgive each priest one act of perversion-- Jesus!):

Well, as I said the politicos are grossly tainted and it's up to citizens to ensure these unsavory characters actually work for us for the majority on main-street. It's about correcting a systemic aberration in the capitalistic system. Of course, the more government tinkers with it the worse the outcome but we are stuck with the government we have and if directed by the true will of the people they are the only ones who can address the "level playing field" issue I mentioned and that is done with just right regulation with lean oversight but also with real legal bite for wrongdoing. This systemic termite ridden "economic house" that was allowed to grow until it crashed is due to the collusion of politicians in the pocket of Wall Street and Wall Street running amok with greed. The capitalistic model cannot be allowed to be completely divorced from government control. It’s like a ship without a rudder, morals and ethics aside.

Defining 'morality' down
Even more fundamentally, why is it that the authors of the phrase "capitalism is immoral" have a presumed authority in matters concerning morality?

Indeed, these are the same folks who believe slaughtering innocents in the womb is the embodiment of a moral action. They also believe it's immoral for law-abiding citizens to own guns.

And, of course, it's nuclear weapons are immoral.

So, should any of us be surprised when they add capitalism to their list? That it's the system that has lifted more people and nations out of poverty is, in their view, not material. What is relevant to them is that not everyone is treated equally, which, of course, reflects disparate talent and work ethic.

And with that demographics’ bent on a minimum of four kids per family, it will become a majority quickly, a majority that have a strong socialistic mindset, a propensity for the handout, and a desire not to integrate or embrace the ways of the adopted nation but to foist their culture and third world mentality on others.

Our borders north and south should have been secured within a year of 9/11 even if it meant stationing troops along the border while they built the fence; troops that should not have been sent to Iraq. Politicians are, once again, irresponsibly not taking the measures necessary to deal with real, demonstrated threats. Fire their sorry carcasses!

Retired Geek
Bless you for highlighting the illegal alien problem!!! I keep spreading the word on the very deleterious aspects of this "cancer" but sometimes one feels like a "lone wolf howling in the wilderness".

Every illegal alien has broken numerous laws, many felonies, and deserves to be pursued, detained, prosecuted, incarcerated, and deported…and not in a “five star guest” manner either. The way things are going is that the illegal immigrant has as many rights if not more than the law-abiding citizen. RIDICULOUS and OUTRAGEOUS!

The "Moral Alternative" To Capitalism II
It's true that the socialistic agenda being railroaded upon us goes against our tradition of "equal opportunity". Having equal opportunity to succeed has been the "mantra" of the country but the level playing field has never been truly level and it's far, far from level at present. People nowadays give themselves the impression of success by borrowing. This over-dependence on credit eventually enslaves them. This, in turn, makes them susceptible to the socialistic mindset as they see their dreams of “success” slip away with their accumulated debt and a tanking economy, the last also caused by too much debt even if packaged as “success”. The real solution here is exactly the opposite of 90% of the pretender’s agenda. Much more attention should be given to the true level playing field for equal opportunity which does not include handouts by the government or quotas but instead the right kind of environment for access to any legal goal one wants to obtain through one’s own efforts without having doors slammed into one’s face at every turn by the very people who have obtained the power to control that access and that access usually not based on merit (hard work and aptitude). That’s a tough nut to crack but if we don’t the incentive for the “pull yourself up by your own bootstraps to succeed” will wane to zero.

The "Moral Alternative" To Capitalism
There is a pendulum effect here. Although I’m very much a conservative with nearly all my values and I walk my talk, it seems to me that the rich do need an “income correction”. Their income has become disproportionate to the point of being obscene and they have become arrogant and disdainful to the plight of average citizens. The traditional “level playing field”, which was never really level, has taken a really serious cant. That’s what you get when politicians are in the pockets of the rich for too long and the wealthiest in effect set their own salaries and control the access of others to wealth. “The ones with the gold make the rules” and it has gotten way out of hand; especially when they continue getting these obscene compensations for abysmal performance. No one is worth what these fat cats even think they’re worth! Some sanity has to be restored and the “playing field” needs to be more leveled. Who else than government can make that happen even if they are grossly tainted? The answer is that citizens have to oversee what these crooks in government are doing for or usually against the people. The other parts of the socialistic agenda of the pretender are NOT to my liking, however!

No Unemployment if NOT for Illegals

10,990,635 Skilled American jobs taken by Illegal Immigrants.

There are currently nearly 5.75 million Americans now unemployed and receiving benefits.

There would be NO unemployment if it wasn't for Illegal Immigrants.

When you cannot buy groceries or pay your bills, because you are out of work, call and thank President Obama and your elected officials.

Equal Outcome Not Possible
"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries"
Winston Chuchill

Moving water from the deep end of a pool to the shallow end will not increase the depth of water in the shallow end.
Removing water from the deep end of the pool only decreases the water in the whole pool. Socialism never works, it breaks down the source of wealth creation from top to bottom.

HARRIS COUNTY VICTIM ADVOCATES
THE VICTIM ADVOCATE OF THE CITY OF HOUSTON AND THE FEDERAL VICTIM ADVOCATE BOTH CHOICE TO CONSOLE A CHILD KILLER ONLY BECAUSE OF HER RACE WHILE THREATENING AN AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR CHILD DISAPPEARANCE. RACISM BY THE VICTIMS ADVOCATE OFFICE MAY HAVE DEFRAUDED THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF TEXAS OUT OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Equality is NOT Equal Outcomes

Everyone has the 'Right' to self determination, not Equal Outcomes.

Every family has individuals with different mental, social values and ethics.

Everyone in a family may start from the same point be it poor or rich. Individual pursuits and decisions will vary and the outcomes are dissimilar.

Those who work hard and make good decisions in life will prosper to the extent of their abilities and fail at the same rate with bad decisions and work ethics.

Those who live modestly within their means will do well, while those who live on credit cards and buy things beyond their means will suffer.

Just because one can buy things on credit like fancy food in a restaurant that is enjoyable and gone tomorrow or a car or house that is beyond their means to pay for, doesn't make them a victim of society but rather a victim of their own folly.

Expecting others to 'foot the bill' for their bad decisions is childish at best and 'legal stealing' at worst.

Within my family we have varied prosperity and incomes and that is the 'normal' family of man.

Equal Outcome apologists do NOT take into account Human Nature and its myriad of wants, needs and choices.

Equal Outcomes for all is 'Wildly Idealistic' at best and 'Insanity' at worst.

The 1st question?
” If one really believes this, then one must ask themselves “what system would make for a better alternative?”

The 1st question ought to be "on what evidence do you base this belief?"

In my limited experience the answer is always some anecdotal evidence trotted out of the Liberal archives about some victim or other tearfully claiming zero responsibility for their pitiful plight which is always the result of white, capitalist, supremacist oppression. Case closed.

Usually that's the nail in the coffin before debate even starts. This is never going to change unless the curriculum of Liberal indoctrination and Conservative hatred is reversed in America's halls of academia.

Given that will take decades there's little hope of getting a cogent argument in support of the premise that Capitalism and it's free market system, based on the promotion of self interest, is "evil." Any interim attempt to introduce reasoned thought will, for the most part, be futile.

Liberal Perception is NOT Reality

Citizens who use facts, logic and reason to make decisions and choose personal actions, are trying to adapt to reality and the world.

Liberals use feelings, alternate realities and cognitive dissonance to try and make reality and the world, adapt to their perception of how the world should be instead of how it is.

That perception is NOT reality.

Reasonable humans realize that little nature gives one is suited for survival and must be transformed to meet their needs and the needs of those they are responsible for i.e. family.

The individual must be pro-active and seek to enhance skills, knowledge and implements to ensure the survival and well being of self and family.

Those who are NOT reasonable, wait for others to meet their needs.

Lilly et al

Fear is Central to Liberal Ideology

The Central emotion to Liberal Ideology is fear.

Fear of being an Individual and having personal identity, instead of a 'Collective Identity'.

Fear of 'Personal Responsibility' instead of a 'Collective Responsibility'.

Fear of 'Self Determination' instead of a 'Collective Determination'.

Fear of having to 'Produce' for self and family, instead of Government filling in what is 'Not Productive'.

Fear of being judged by 'Personal Achievement' rather than 'Collective Achievement' or 'Ancestral Achievement'.

Barack Obama is the Quintessential 'Con Man' and has used the fear of his followers to manipulate and coerce them.

Barack Obama believes the 'Politics of Fear', will be the 'Success' of his administration.

lilly ...
if it weren't for the fact that people like yourself never, ever go it alone ... that everyone has to be included in your government programs by hook or by crook; I am totally in favor of you recieving government health care.
I can just imagine you and a few million friends invading the 'private space' of our government officials for health care as promised by the Lord Obama.
Tell us please about your program for government health care. Who knows, you may be a force of reasoning that brings us all to our knees in recognition of our obtuse wickedness.
I would like to add ... that I for one don't care about the other industrialised nations. I wouldn't waste one American life in defence of a bunch of foreigners. If we pulled our troops out of Europe the Europeans would bend over for Vladmir Putin as the Russians parked their tanks in European capitals.
Try taking things to their logical extreme in a realistic scenario; not your quasi Judeo-Christian, Socialist metaphysic.

Moral?
First you must be moral in order to be a moral alternative to anything. That lets Obama off. Also, the rest of the democrats.

The Lord Obama ...
is an undernourished bag of wind.

The problem is the turds who murdered people at Ruby Ridge and Waco and abducted Elian Gonzalez.
Those clowns are totally without honor and will murder anyone thoughtlessly; or some possibly with thought.

They aren't compatible with enforcing the Constitution but stand ready to advance their careers at the behest of any tyrant.

A Question, Asked in Good Faith
Any system of control, whether economic or government or church, allowed to operate without moderation or balance, has great potential to do harm. That makes such obvious good sense that it's hard to see why anyone would disagree. Many of us Americans have ancestors who came here (often at great hardship) because the system where they came from was so far out of control that it didn't allow people to have good lives. We all know this.

For thirty years now we have cultivated a system in the United States that allows unregulated behavior and great wealth for the few, at the expense of the many. Most of us here belong in the category of "the many". So I seriously invite conservatives to explain why allowing a little less for the very, very, very rich so that a great deal more can be provided for the many, makes conservatives so scared and furious.

We are the only industrialized Western nation that doesn't provide a government system of health care for its citizens. The for-profit system we have now denies medical care to nearly 50 million Americans. But the instant you say "government-mandated health care" somebody for sure will respond "government is evil---they are coming to get our guns". Where is the connection? I don't see it. You can't have civilization without government. Imagine the sky without air traffic controllers.

CITIZENS and NATIVES
212. Citizens and Natives.
VATTEL & JEFF TAYLOR (U.S. Attorney) EXPLAINS “CITIZEN” and “NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.”

The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens.

As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights…I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.

The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born.

Oops
withholding, not withholdong. A typo, not a Freudian slip. Sorry.
Also, Denise, thanks for that mayoral list. I've seen it before and it's an eyeopener. Perhaps someone could compile a list of literacy rates for those same cities. I know for Detroit, adult literacy is 50% +/-. Frightening.

Federal Grand jury
This is a fact from the very the foundation of United States Constitution: Article II, section 1, paragraph 5.

“No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.”

"As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.'s children."

Barack Obama II is a child of Obama Sr., thus former Senator Obama was a British subject (British citizen) at birth, and not a natural born U.S. Citizen.

The Federal Grand Jury and the District Courts of the District of Columbia are the ONLY two entities for recourse for Impeachment!

Moral Questions
1. Will Obama return the $100K in campaign contributions he received from AIG?
2. Will the "95% tax cut" lower tax rates or withholdong rates?
3. How much did Michelle's wardrobe for the recent Euro trip cost and who paid for it?
4. How can anyone who believes in moral relativism be trusted to make consistent moral decisions?

Collective Poverty
What do the ten US cities with the highest poverty rate all have in common?

1. Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1961.

2. Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1954.

3. Cincinnati, OH (3rd) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1984.

4. Cleveland, OH (4th) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1989.

5. Miami, FL (5th) has never had a Republican mayor.

6. St. Louis, MO (6th) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1949.

7. El Paso, TX (7th) has never had a Republican mayor.

8. Milwaukee, WI (8th) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1908.

9. Philadelphia, PA (9th) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1952.

10. Newark, NJ (10th) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1907.

Einstein once said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

It is the disadvantaged, who habitually elect for Democrats, yet they remain disadvantaged.

"Poor People have been voting for Democrats for the last 50 years, and they are still poor."

So sayeth Sir Charles Barkley. And, he is right. Of course, he left out #11... New Orleans.

Of course, don't confuse "Conservatism" with "Republicanism".

Must I bow to His Barackness and curtsey to Lady Macbeth?

Quixotic
Consider a paradigm shift toward this idea:

Government cannot legislate behavior - they can create laws that have consequences for those who make choices at a cost to others without their consent.

Man 1 killing Man 2 is making a choice at a cost to another without consent.

Man 1 stealing from Man 2 is making a choice at a cost to another without consent.

Man 1 insulting Man 2 is nothing more than free speech of Man 1 and revealing his true nature - so what? It is not at a cost to Man 2 without consent as Man 2 has choice to listen or walk away.

Applying this formula to our laws will reveal where those laws are subjective rather than objective; where those laws are hindering free choice.

Right to free choice to CREATE comfort; not Right TO comfort.

Government taxing behavior it doesn't subjectively like and giving tax credits to those it does - negates a government founded on freedom & free choice.

It is NEVER the governments role to legislate behavior, it is the governments role to legislate that which hinders freedom - which at times will be reflected as a behavior, but the objective nature of it is to see it as a "choice which is at a cost to another without consent".

Glowbama weary-- II
Is some of this unbridled adulation not simply a case of liberal feel good hormone release experiences? Chris Matthews' "tingle up his leg?" Or "the emperor's new clothes" where everyone is afraid to speak inconvenient truths?

Michelle O. is likened to Jackie Kennedy in style and elegance by some-- spare me the hallucinatory hyperbole! Jackie and Jack lived a charade image, but it did impress on the surface. Michelle O. has the physique of a former college b-ball player (male). I notice that they put a muzzle on her speaking her mind after the embarrassing "the first time I have ever been proud of my country" line.

The card-carrying left is gloating unbearably (they are insufferable on the blogs like Townhall, a neoCON vehicle feigning true conservatism), even as Shrillary and the ObaMessiah go around blaming America for all of the world's ills.

Socialist Keith Olbermann wants to make saints of those poor, innocent, tormented detainees at Gitmo... odd that they cannot get anybody to accept those icons of virtue.

Glowbama weary
Is it just I, or is it getting way too tiresome hearing about how "brilliant" the ObaMessiah is, and how stylish and lovely his wife is? Odd that the Glowbama has never made available his test scores-- as Amnesty John, Dubya, and Kerry all did. Could that be fear of AA revelations? If he is so innately gifted, why not prove it?

Michelle got a $400,000 job (sinecure) as a "hospital consultant" after he got to the Senate-- no wonder health care is so expensive! Their church built a $2 MILLION home for the Revrund Wright-- tough life condemning/damming America to "the poor people." A funny fact-- the First Family gave almost nothing to charity (including their black racist church) until he ran for POTUS. Hmmm.

Did anybody notice that they chose for their daughters the most exclusive private school in Washington, Sidwell Friends? Just like Revund Jessuh Jackson did and, usually, members of the Congressional Black Caucus-- but they adamantly oppose vouchers (favored by the black rising middle class) which might let middle Americans escape the union-plagued LCD (lowest common denominator) public school system.

The answer to one question
The American people know that no one
"is so wise, so all-knowing, so just and so good, that he can make all the decisions necessary to produce this “more moral” economy."

No person has command of the facts surrounding these decisions. Nor does the government have such command. Nor will it ever. Forget it, the whole line of argument works only if you are innocent of any knowledge of economics, business decision making, etc.

All this is well-established. It need not be proven yet again, although we have to teach it to each succeeding generation.

BTW, the notion of a more 'moral economy' in this article seems to mean equal outcomes for all. If so, the concept is so clearly flawed that we can stop the discussion and award it to capitalism by knockout.

Moral Equivalent
Socialism is the moral equivalent of Legislated Slavery & Servitude.

Capitalism has no Moral Equivalent other than Freedom of Individuals to pursue their ambitions and utilize the talents for the betterment of mankind.

Without Capitalism there would have been no medical treatment and advancement, telephone, automobiles, television, and numerous other time and energy saving advances that we take for granted.

Soviet Socialist Russia, Chinese Socialism, Indian Socialism et al never never developed any human benefiting ideas.

rdsefert 8:15 AM plants a seed
Great story about the economics class. I have never heard of this experiment, but I see it as a powerful way to peel back some of the socialism in the university classroom.

First thing: Can you give a source for the story? I will try to replicate it and publicize it further. It is important to give credit to the author; I don't plagiarize.

Then one might present it to colleagues in Economics, then maybe history, political sci, and sociology,...who knows how far it might go, eh?

Thanks in advance.

fascist obama
As a fascist obama and his ilk have the best of two worlds. They enjoy the power to destroy our way of life, and to destroy the free markets neede for a free society to survive

the moral alternative
the american public already answered this question by voting for a man who does not know that he does not knw.
r robinson

The Past
"Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it."

Some very "successful" men have decided they know everything there is to know about all subjects and can make all thee right decisions: Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Chavez, Castro, Mao Tse Tung, Idi Amin and the list goes on. It appears that perhaps Obama's name may soon be added to that list. He has ALL the answers. But of course, his blind, deaf and dumb supporters will argue that he would never follow the same path as those mentioned above.

We had better keep a close eye on this guy - his arrogance and ego know no boundaries.

Solution
Mr. Hill, I have a solution...in paragraph four, you mention that protesters presumably think that "executives earn too much money and non-executives earn too little"...this may sound tricky and complicated, but how's about non-executives who earn too little work hard and become executives who earn too much?

Gregory
You are correct, government cannot legilsate morals - never could. What it can legilsate is behavior. Our government's charter is to protect us and our property and promote the general wellfair. It is perfectly ligitimate for our government to legislate against behaviors that are deliterious to society.

No ..

There is no moral alternative to capitalism. Individual liberty, with its economic corollary, capitalism, is the only system consistent with human nature.

All else is either Utopian fantasy or the boot heel of a warlord on your neck. History documents multiple instances where the fantasies and the boot heel are simultaneously in evidence.

DAG
How about BO's capitalistic choice of, instead of abiding by the finance reform that McCain wanted to uphold, he didn't sign on and was able to bring in unlimited amounts of campaign contributions through free market choice instead of government regulated funds and limitations.

Good observations!

hail to the chief
Obama's agenda has been set. Government control is his goal, and the American people will be the loser's. those who voted for Change We Can Believe In, better be prepared for some lean years ahead, and higher taxes for all.

Subjective is the issue, not morals
http://iconicfreedom.blogtownhall.com/

The lack of understanding between what is subjective and what is objective becomes clearer as the days go forward.

Placing subjective personal value on aspects of life for which only the individual can decide for self, then imposing that subjectivity on others - is part of what is at the heart of the nation's dismantling.

Not understanding what objective means vs. subjective creates a foundation for thinking your personal opinions trump others when it comes to laws.

Government cannot legislate morals or values as each are personal & subjective from a vast breadth of sources.

If personal choice is at no cost to others without their consent - then each need to mind their business from that which is not their business.

Government out of morality & values, whereby pluralistic tax dollars are being used as weapons of endorsement, will help bring about this change.

Either you are for freedom or you are not.

Forcing your morals & values on others is you revealing you are NOT about freedom.

Last Hope For America.

The first shot at taking the country out of the hands of the most socialist, leftist administration in history will occur in 2010. Republicans will either gain seats in the house and the senate or they will not. The latter will spell more trouble for a country already on the brink.

After that comes the presidential election. What shape will America be in four years from now? If these first three months are any indication, it won't be good. Let's pray the American people come to their senses in 2012. The sooner this liberal, left-wing cabal vacates the White House the better.

Barak's personal capitalism
Let's check on Obama practicing wehat he preaches.
1. His two books - reportedly he got several million bucks, some prepaid I guess. He is a personal capitalist PIG, who used his governemtn and it's cozy big business corruptive marraige to SNATCH UP PERSONAL MILLIONS IN A CAPITALISTIC "CEO WRITER" GREEDFEST.
2. His wife, some hospital affirmative action administrator of some sort, GANKED UP $365,000.00 dollars, a salary DOUBLING with the capitalistic value that being "famous by government seat and therefore capital connections" is reason to be showered over with extra money for doing NOTHING.
_____-

I think it's quite clear that Obama is a capitalistic greedy pig and is married to one, and they are both extremely corrupt, while they point the finger, lying through their teeth 100% of the time concerning this matter.
They TRY to claim Barak turned down money coming back to Chicago, but let's face it, they are multi-millionaires, and once they hit it with capitlaism payoffs, they grabbed every dime they could get their greedy paws on. Even a million dollar plus home won with capitalistic/government ties / corruption.
This one, this set, these Obama's are not just greedy capitalistic pigs, they go one step further, one step sicker, and mix their government ties and hundreds of millions, and now trillions, of taxpayer dollars into their greedy fingers of control and power corruption.
Now we see, he wants the WORLD - the new trillion dollar - new world order IMF MONETARY UNIT.
Wow, how to steal from everyone on the face of the earth, not just people in the USA.
Non-capitlaistic ? NO
Corrupt worse than those he accuses? YES
Part of the problem ? A BIG PART -A DUAL PLAYER
Expect the very worst my friends.

Obam & Notre Dame
Inviting a pro-abortion man or woman to speak at one of the most beloved models of Catholicity's commencement exercises is a big win for anti-Catholics and pro-choice individuals and their followers throughout our country. Their gleeful emails, etc. must be burning up the airwaves. What a hero Obama would appear to be if her cordially dis-invited himself for the good of al. Then he and Rahm and Reverend Wright could all applaud yet another administration.

Barak's life in capitalism
Let's do what the dims do, and analyze Hussein's mix with capitalism.
1. He started with a two timing daddy from another GOVERNMENT that abandoned him.
2. Granny was a BANK VP - she saved him - raised him - see Baraks best fed and banker buds
3. Barak did big business with a Chicago crimelord in with the state government for his home. Once again, business is evil, Barak knows from his own personal corruption.
4. Barak, in government, got a free hand up from Emit "I'm gonna make me a Senator". He bribed and was bribed to make it happen - again, being in government, all he saw was his own fecklessness, corrupted by business, criminally backed, and lofted up with NO GOOD REASON, no performance, other than words of class hate, envy, and agitiation. If business backs such a loser, it cannot be good.
I could go on pointing out how Barak's life has been hand in hand with his own personal failure, lofted up by "corrupt business".
He is a walking example of dirty business, and without government, with him in it, he would have had to do some REAL BUSINESS, some real capitalism, to survive.
He obviously has his attitude because is a corrupt government grub given a massive government hand out, from the sick Chicago government machine.

A lot of wisdom here
but to me there is something missing. The organizers who organize the protests, the unions. We saw this with AIG faux protest rallies promoting the idea that successful business owners exploit workers, thus workers need unions.

I'm sorry, I don't want the responsibility of a huge house, I don' need false ego. I don't want the hunger to always prove I'm something I'm not.

It is amazing that love is the greatest commodity on the planet and it is secondary in the eyes of the Madison Avenue sellers of crap.

So if some guy wants to spend all his life developing a bigger company to employ the satisfied people who find true joy in their family, God bless him. Who is really sacrificing? Let him have the theft worries and the maintenance problems, while his employees are at that park with their children.

I hate the words "its not fair," bantered about by people with greedy agendas, like unions.

lets face it, Obama voters got duped
If you voted for the Messiah you were either hungover that day, on a LSD trip revisiting your youth in the 1960's or just plain stupid. Liberals, especially the (Progressives) think they have all the answers, what a hoot. Most of these people are spawns of Liberal baby boomers and have not lived long enough to experience life. They grew up in liberal enclaves like Marin County, Berkley or New York and went to appropriately liberal schools where alternative lifestyles were embraced. Obama is a Prime example of this Lunacy...

This can only get worse
I know that Austin Hill was using the term, "U.S. Executive Compensation Specialist" kind of sarcastically, but that is in effect what we now have. The fascist in Chief needs only to make it official, this will become an official bureaucracy of the BigGovernment. (Assume the name sticks.)

How long until this agency would "have to get bigger, for the children...?"

How long until, "Office of the U.S. Executive Compensation Specialist," morphs into, "U.S. Compensation Specialist?"

Which would cover all of us.

Sound scary? Paranoid? Well, when we are pen pals in the gulag, you can tell me that in your highly censored letter.

Outrage
Obama is destroying Constitutional America. Where is the outrage? Take to the streets and take back America.

Wake up, America, or die in your sleep!!

rdsefert I am Shocked
You mean there's economics professor who actually advocates free markets, entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and fundamental tenents of hard work and just rewards instead of shoving failed socialist and class warfare theroies down the throats of young gullllible students?????

Truely shocking.....

We are at a crossroads
America is dying. Does that matter to you?

Barack Obama...anti-American, corrupt, Marxist, Kenyan-born, illegally occupying the White House, defecating on our US Constitution, badmouthing our nation on foreign soil, taking over private industries, seeking his own private army to put down dissent...how much more evidence do you need? Remove him, by any means necessary, if you love your country. The peaceful route is DEMANDING his birth certificate. He CANNOT produce it.

Barney Frank...Christopher Dodd...Nancy Pelosi...Harry Reid...Hilary Clinton...John Murtha...Maxine Waters...Barbara Lee...Dianne Feinstein...Barbara Boxer...Louise Slaughter...Arlen Specter...Susan Collins...Olympia Snowe... Traitors all. Liars all. Remove them...and anyone like them.

We need a revolution. Peaceful, preferably. Otherwise, if necessary. STAND UP! SAVE YOUR COUNTRY! Attend your Tea Party and let us proceed from there!

Saw as a joke
A Lesson on Socialism

A Lesson on Socialism

An economics professor said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. The class had insisted that socialism worked - and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer for all, for society. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

He said that all grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone was given a B. The students who studied hard were upset, and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who hadn't studied much for the first test had studied even less, and the ones who studied hard weren't motivated to study hard again, and they decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little. The second Test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else. All failed .... and the professor told them that the socialism they wanted would ultimately fail, as they had, because the reward of success normally goes to those that work harder, but when government takes the reward away; few will try so no one will succeed.

ObaMessiah's stratagem about ILLEGALS

Watch the Chosen One/The Glowbama press for Scamnesty promptly using the hackneyed artful line, "bringing people out of the shadows," under the guise of getting ILLEGALS to help fight drug cartels... that is like treating the leukemia patient with an injection of cancer cells so he won't die of leukemia!

As a dedicated soldier in the fight to save America from myopic, beleaguered acceptance of the ILLEGAL invasion, I surely appreciate the frustration of the majority of Americans (70%+) with quisling politicians. The left KNOWS that ILLEGALS will vote 95% for big entitlement guvment, which explains why the Glowbama has stopped construction of the border fence, which was well under way.

HOWEVER, the fight is NOT lost!!!
We stopped Kennedy-McCain Scamnesty, then killed the disingenuous "Dream Act," a liberal gambit to give ILLEGALS a free community college education and thence a path to citizenship, and blue state N.Y. stanched the governor Spitzer's scheme to give ILLEGALS licenses, which 77% of Americans oppose per Rasmussen (because licenses are a step toward voting and scamnesty).

Join the fight, Middle America to save YOUR COUNTRY!!!!!!!!

The BEST group to assist you is Numbers USA... several senators agreed that they were the group most responsible for stanching Kennedy-McQuisling Scamnesty:

Blue dog Çrats (e.g., Heath Shuler) are already starting to resist the ObaMessiah and the hard left-- hope is NOT lost, BUT it WILL require dedication from Middle America!

Continued
"There are many ways that God may seize the attention of a people. He may send prophets, plagues, or perils that cannot be ignored. He may send storms or disasters that force men and women to open their eyes. He may send revival, or he may send judgement and some terrible type of destruction. But when the time known only to God is fulfilled, and when his patience with our apostasy as run its course, he will move."

The author quotes from Jeremiah, "Let not the wise man bask in his wisdom, nor the mighty man in his might, nor the rich man in his riches. Let them boast in this alone: That they truly know me, and understand that I am the Lord of justice and or righteousness whose love is steadfast."
From Ezekial "I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgement which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them."

Author "So long as our works further the kingdome of his Christ, the nations will be lifted up and theri banners will be extended. But when the nations turn their back upon him and when the hearts of men and women are hardened, then history moves on, with or without us."

While it was published 15 years ago, I think the authors words are more relevant today..he ends the book with the thought that he doesn't believe God is finished with us yet, but it's up to us. We are further down that declining road than when he wrote this book..we need to
PRAY PRAY PRAY and repent for our national sins,
as well as our own disobedience.

Butt-wipe Barry..
This butt-wipe Barry Dunham, is a true hardcore anti-American butt-wipe, nothing more. He is just another Sharpton or Jackson or Farakhan, only a slicker salesman and millions of Americans voted for someone who has contempt for them. What a con-job by the Chicago salesman!

He goes overseas and badmouths our country time and time again, as he speaks to European college kids for the most part, young enough and dumb enough to believe Barry's bullsh*t.

Time to push this feminized, unaccomplished laywer/wimp out of office.

When Nations Die
is a book I've had for years, by Jim Nelson Black, (1994), Ten Warning Signs Of a Culture In Crisis.

"The Crisis of Lawlessness,
Loss of Economic Discipline,
Rising Bureaucracy,
The Decline of Education,
Weakening of Cultural Foundations,
Loss of Respect for Tradition,
Increase in Materialism,
The Rise in Immorality,
Decay of Religious Belief,
Devaluing of Human Life."

"One of the lessons of history is that immorality is not the cause of national decline
but a symptom of lost faith. When people lose faith in themselves, their country, and their God, they slide naturally into the bad habits that bring on corruption and decline. Loss of their love for God leads to loss of self-respect, and from there it is only a short step to loss of respect for human life and all the types degradation and abuse we have witnessed in recent years. To restore our relationships, we must return to our 'first love'--that is, to our faith in Jesus Christ and to the values and hopes upon which the Founding Fathers relied." Chapter 12 pgs. 249-250

Angler's Reward OH. 4:54a.m.
Mr. Hill wrote a good article and you added to it. Good Post! Thank you both!

Freedom Is Immoral
Any other conclusion destroys the justification for government intervention in the free market. The left dances around this simple fact by labeling our system of free exchange "Capitalism". This term was promoted by Marx because he had to be able to slap a name on the free enterprise system that could be turned into a pejorative. It's hard to talk bad about freedom but "Capitalism", now there's a word to get the left's blood boiling.

Orwell has to be smiling. Voluntary exchange is immoral but the government stepping in and dictating the terms of exchange is moral. we are stupid and we deserve what is going to happen to us.

Desperately warped ideas
Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Sins for a good reason.

There is nothing to stop these brats from selling everything they have and giving the money to the poor, or buying things and giving those to the poor. Their problem is that they do not want to give up their own stuff -- and they do want you to give up yours. They should look around their own homes and offices and see what they have that capitalism has provided them a chance to get.

IF CAPITALISM IS IMMORAL
THEN---
LIES must be MORAL.
Promised his children a pet dog---LIE
Promised no earmarks----LIE
Promised no lobbyists---LIE
Promised 5 days for the public to read all bills out of congress----LIE
Promised a tax cut for 95% of Americans----LIE
Promised the 'highest' ethics---LIE (so far 7 tax cheats exposed and the most egregious, geithner, appointed and confirmed as Secretary of the Treasury. Bernie Maddoff is just as qualified)
Promised to keep our Country safe---LIE (head of Homeland Security promotes amnesty for 'illegal aliens', the Attorney General is going after the only sheriff who enforces immigration laws and Gitmo terrorists are to be released in the US)
Promised, took the Oath of Office, to uphold and protect OUR CONSTITUTION---LIE
Promised to spread the wealth---LIE (American taxpayer dollars are being stolen, not to be 'spread' here at home but 'spread' around the World)
Capitalism, Free Markets and Trade, in and of themselves, are NOT immoral, people are. Capitalism has kept our Country and our people FREE. IF We the People allow Capitalism to be destroyed and embrace the 'MORALITY of LIES' We will be forsaking our Country, our Constitution, our Flag, our Freedoms and our Rights.

Obama really intends to be our all-wise
dictator, doesn't he? Power is fast corrupting him. The power of the mandate for "changee."

Should I take offense that people who voted for this "one" have subjected me to a fascist purveyor of evil?

IF POLITICS, ANY KIND OF POLITICS
produced a more moral outcome, the Teamsters would be the perfect moral society. The genius of capitalism is that it makes millions of decisions, some wrong of course, but on balance produces the most moral outcomes available to us mere mortals, as well as the most high quality material goods.
