Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

President Obama returns this week from his whirlwind, “It’s good to be me” tour through continental Europe and Asia. Many here stateside are beginning to whisper that Obama is the most arrogant leader this country has seen in a generation. He holds Americans and the Constitution in utter contempt.

He fires private sector CEO’s, wages class warfare on taxpayers (the top 1% income earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, and the bottom 50% pay a minuscule 3%), and covets open-ended power to spend taxpayers money without check that would have made Gosplaners in the Soviet Union green with envy. He turns the Constitution on its head by describing the payment of taxes as a “patriotic duty” and staggering government spending as the beneficence of his band of Platonic Guardians. He has erased the vital distinction between public and private.

Mr. Obama has taken Narcissus to a new level. He is mesmerized by his own words. He wields no delusions of his own grandeur. However, when he goes abroad he can't be effacing enough for the bows and scraping to those luminaries around him. Remember the King of Saudia Arabia, to whom our President gave obeisance, is basica lly the leader of the Wahhabi branch of Islam. Bowing to this king signals submission to Islam. Indeed, “Islam” means “submission”. And in Saudi Arabia that means the suppression of Christianity or Judaism. President Obama has apologized for the United States history with Native Americans and blacks. He gazes at radical Islam with rose-colored glasses.

Are you getting this picture? Is it becoming clearer exactly what is beginning to happen to our beloved America?

And to compound matters, our President now craves the elimina tion of nuclear weapons. Does he not remember that atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved millions of both American and Japanese lives and brought a terrible war to an instant conclusion? Does he not know of the history of arms control cheating by closed and despotic nations, like the Soviet Union, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Libya, Iraq, and otherwise. Does he not know that the elimination of nuclear weapons immediately strengthens nations with massive land armies like China’s People’s Liberation Army?

Mr. Obama’s national security follies are matched by his contempt for the Constitution which he is pledged to defend and support.

He has claimed Czar-like powers to detain indefinitely both citizens and non-citizens without accusation or trial or access to courts on his say-so alone by dispatching them to Bagram prison in Afghanistan. There, he has authorized procedures for determining who should be detained as “enemy combatants" that would be more fitting if adopted by Iran’s Mullahs.

The initial judgment is made “in the field.” It is reviewed within 75 days, and then at six month intervals. The reviewing body is the Unlawful Enemy Combatant Review Board (UECRB), a panel of three commissioned officers. It examines “all relevant informatio n reasonably available.” The detainee has no access to a personal representative or lawyer. He has no access to the government’s evidence. He has no opportunity to respond in person. He is limited to submitting a written statement without knowledge of either his accusers or the allegations that must be rebutted.

There are many terms that might describe Bagram procedures, but due process of law is not one of them. The Executive Branch decrees that “enemy combatant” status justifies detention, enfo rces the decree through executive detentions, and decides whether its enforcement decisions are correct. That combination was what the Founding Fathers decried as the “very definition of tyranny” in The Federalist 47.

In addition, the dispositive evidence and accusers are secret; and, the deciders are military persons the detainee is accused of desiring to kill, which may imbalance their judgments. It is no surprise that United States District Judge John H. Bates on April 2 held the procedures unconstitutiona in Fadi al Maqaleh v. Gates.

He has invoked state secrets to deny remedies to individual victims of constitutional wrongdoing, including torture or assassination. He has claimed the right to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on political convenience, and evaded the accountability that comes with a presidential pardon. He has frustrated congressional oversight by the invocation of executive privilege.

In the Senate, he voted against the Military Commissions Act of 2006 as running roughshod over constitutional rights. In the White House, he finds nothing objectionable about the Act’s crowning him with monarch-like authorities. He has enlisted 800,000 state and local law enforcement officers to spy on Americans under the beguiling umbrella as “fusion centers,” while the murder clearance rate remains a dismal 61%.

Alex de Tocqueville, writing in Democracy in America , forecast a world in which Russia and the United States would dominate. But he sharply distinguished between how the two would assert their influence:

“[T]he conquests of the American are made with the plowshare of the laborer, those of the Russian with the sword of the soldier.

“To attain his goal, the first relies on personal interest and allows the force and reason of individuals to act without directing them. The second in a way concentrates all the power of society in one man,

“The one has freedom for his principle means of action; the other servitude.”

That distinction is rapidly diminishing to the disadvantage of the United States under President Obama.

FRIGHTENING ESSAY
Thank you for your research and forthright essay. Things are even worse than I imagined ALREADY! But take heart, people! The answer to all this mess will come out of TEXAS, I believe strongly. There are so many smart, influential, powerful, and patriotic people in that great state that somebody or somebodies from there will rescue our noble nation from those who would dismantle it.

What comes from Texas..
...let's see:

Execution of innocents because of their race.

Mentally deficient politicians.

Thieves. Lots of thieves. Nearly every Texan I ever met was raised to believe in private property only for themselves, and that they could steal from anyone else.

Thieves. Yep.

DEAR XERXES
I'm from Nazareth, Pa. I see you're also from PA. I love Pa., but I've driven all around Texas, being as how I'm next door now in La. I think it's a marvelously beautiful state. Immense and full of amazing sights. And there ARE a multitude of wonderfully creative, influential and patriotic people living there. You won't get very far bad mouthing Texans, cause you won't be believed by anyone who has been there. Check it out sometime. And as far as thieves go, my wallet would be a lot safer in Austin than in Philly!

Ronal Reagan
wanted to abolish nuclear weapons. He and Gorbachev actually explored the possibility.

"He has claimed Czar-like powers to detain indefinitely both citizens and non-citizens without accusation or trial or access to courts on his say-so alone by dispatching them to Bagram prison in Afghanistan."

Yes, unfortunately he has decide to follow Bush in this regard:(

TEXAS WILL SAVE US and U.S.
Yes, it's pitiful out there, and our country is being rapidly dismantled. But take heart, people, somehow, someway, rescue is going to come from the great state of TEXAS. There are a multitude of smart, creative, and influential people in that great state. Look to TEXAS to get us out of this swamp we've dug ourselves into. They're good at overcoming. They're good at most anything I can think of. And don't forget, they were the highest per capita state of voters for MCCAIN!

Armstrong Williams
Almost every complaint that you have in your
column is for me a big hoorah. You go, Obama.

Karen:
Oh yes, let's here it for the Texans. They wear cowboy boots. They hate aliens. They have a very southern sense of justice. (think Tulia). They talk in a drawl and think its sexy. (not as bad as south carolinians, but bad enough)

They have an I'm right and you're wrong brand
of religion. They think that home schooling
is one of the great blessings of our age.
They have one of the highest percentages of
people who work but don't pay income tax (only
7 states are higher).

They do have Austin, I will give them that.
San Antonio is nice place to visit too.

To TAMMY about TEXAS
Tammy, it's all in how you perceive it. To me, Texas is gorgeous. The hill country, the desert country, the Gulf coast. The music is terrific. The Spanish influence is beautiful. The history is fascinating. The Texas spirit is inspiring. And it's huge! Takes me 3 days just to drive across it to my friend in New Mexico. But then you have Chicago, and we all know how virtuous and upstanding that city is!

Tammy
And how do the welfare numbers stack up compared to Ill?

Obama is a terrorist
wake-up America Obama is danger to all Americans when the jobs go to illegal aliens as with Bush Obama popularity will cease.

Karen
There are many parts of Texas that are very
pretty. Much more that are not. My daughter
lives there. Dallas is one of the most
boring and homely big cities I have ever
encountered. And the drivers are beyond pathetic.

As for Chicago, I LOVE Chicago - in the summertime. In the winter, not so much.

Soliton
If you are alluding to the "who pays what
figures" in income tax, Texas ranks 6th (tying
with two other states, Illinois ranks 36th.)

Every state with the possible exception of one
that has higher than 35% non-payment is a red
state. Go figure.

I guess blue staters just aren't clever enough
to figure out how to get out of paying taxes.
Or maybe we see some value in paying taxes.
Or maybe we make more money. Or maybe.....

I'm sure you will tell me how to fill in the
blanks.

Tammy
Even though you have problems with Texas, back to the point.

What is your complaint about Williams's column?

Karen
Don't feed the Trolls, they are on Obama's payroll to do exactly what they are paid to do, disrupt and manipulate posters into dialogue.
Remember, PAID by OBAMA and most likely with some of the 4 mill or is it bill of our taxmoney via the Porkulus. He is using Alinsky tactics..their goal is to shut down disent by making it difficult to say anything..they will be foul mouth, argumentative and insulting..they are the lowest of the low,
they Hate our Republic..don't make them happy..
ignore them.. Washington Times has a story on what they are doing. These are the same thugs planning to disrupt the Tea Parties..typical Bolshevik methods of operation.

If there
is any doubt where the person who inhabits the White House loyalties lie, that picture of his
showing his "best" side to America as he obequiosly pays obeisance to a foreign King.
A King whose subjects were among the murderers of 3000 American's in the Twin Towers and the
other Pentagon Victims..and this occupier of our government shows subservience to this King and his religion as a representative of all Americans.
Trolls, go back to your Master and inform him
REAL AMERICANS, Natural born or naturalized
don't bow to any foreigner or king, and we Arent about to apologize to the people we rescued from Fascism and Communism just because
he thinks we should.
The Ralllying cry of 1776 was "No King But King JESUS!..but he refuses to bow his arrogant head to the King of Kings. His day will come.

Exerpt Of Robert Spencer's Column.
We will convey,” said Barack Obama to the Turkish Parliament Monday, “our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country.”
Undeniably the Islamic faith has done a great deal to shape the world – a statement that makes no value judgment about exactly how it has shaped the world. It has formed the dominant culture in what is known as the Islamic world for centuries. But what on earth could Obama mean when he says that Islam has also “done so much” to shape his own country?

Unless he considers himself an Indonesian, Obama’s statement was extraordinarily strange. After all, how has the Islamic faith shaped the United States? Were there Muslims along Paul Revere’s ride, or standing next to Patrick Henry when he proclaimed, “Give me liberty or give me death”? Were there Muslims among the framers or signers of the Declaration of Independence, which states that all men – not just Muslims, as Islamic law would have it – are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Were there Muslims among those who drafted the Constitution and vigorously debated its provisions, or among those who enumerated the Bill of Rights, which guarantees – again in contradiction to the tenets of Islamic law – that there should be no established national religion, and that the freedom of speech should not be infringed?

There were not.

Actually, the Big O is a punk
Any assistant manager of a Taco Bell knows more business than O does, and any grunt enlistee knows more about the military.

O, whose every moment is scripted like the Truman Show, still finds time to threaten Dems. of his own party who do not slobber all over themselves every time O makes some teleprompted move toward greater socialism with phone calls telling his compatriots in arms: *We're watching uoiu, Bro.*

It's all so warm and gooey I can hardly breathe for the bliss.

Jealous Uncle Tom
Wingnut Williams should get a real job and not on the government dole like he did in the past! Don't Hate Mr. Williams! It must drive GOP wingnuts crazy because of the charisma of Obama and the very solid idea that true diplomacy must be used.

True diplomacy
I note that for all his brilliant diplomacy the Europeans said no to stimulus for their own economies and no aid for US in Afganistan. Zero for two.

As to the nuts and bolts, protocol and gifts, the Obama administration is obviously too brilliant to bother getting those minor details right.

But the crowds love him.

Al: Exactly what kind of a low-class

scum-bag are you??

No one in their right mind would be jealous of that narcissist punk!!

As I said in my first post, nearly everything
that he sees as a negative, I see as a plus.

That's all.

Fran Drescher on Hannity
I was watching Hannity on Fox News tonight and he had Fran Drescher on as a guest. Fran referred to Obama as an intellectual giant. What a laugh! Fran showed her stupidity with that comment, but then she followed that up with a comment about how she thought Obama was the first President (of many) who really cared about Americans. Those comments showed about as much intellect as NObama has exhibited in his first 2 months in office (aka zero, zip, nada). Hannity threw a question at her about the cost of nationalized healthcare (and the consequent rationing that would follow). She blew off the question and answered it as if nothing would change in this country except better doctors and better healthcare for everyone. This woman can not even grasp the concept of how the laws of supply and demand work. And to her, the $630 billion dollars as just a DOWN PAYMENT on nationalized healthcare was like talking about inconsequential pocket change. Fran Drescher needs to get her rich, spoiled self over to several of the Eastern European countries and ask the people there how they liked living under Communism with free "health-care".

Tammy:::::
Tammy, it figures...you're from Illinois.
That says it all.
Remove your blinders; it'll help stop your blunders.

Al in Illinois:::
Thank heaven I left Illinois when I was 2 years old!

Al, I see absolutely no charisma in BO. I see a grinning fool, happy now to be set for life on the taxpayers' money, the same taxpayers he & militant MO see as so, so mean. Also I see the grinning fool-in-chief as resembling that fellow A. Newman on the cover of Mad magazine...remember him?

BO has shown us his basest worst in bowing to the Saudi Arabian king. BO is a pitiful & pathetic example of a low in presidencies. Let's hope he continues exposing himself (& his rear) for what he is.

BO
The only people who cannot see who this man is and what he intends to do to our country are the rich ones hungry for power and the rest of his people sitting on their rearends with their hand out. You know who you are. They could care less about this country and what it stands for, they care only that they don't need to do anything but wait for their check, food stamps and low housing. Most never heard of the Constitution, let alone read it.

Idiots on TH....
ask Bush how it was to be the slave of Saudi royal family. The relationship between the Bush family and the Saudi royal family is as close and corrupt as it can get. Much of the Pseudo-Conservatives aka Republicans are the reason that these monarchs are still power with their Oil money. "Drill baby drill" you freakin morons, you should never be let close power ever again.

trolls
It's best to take Teapot's advice, there is nothing to be gained by responding to the pointless rantings of those who wouldn't know the first thing about principled discourse.

Tea Party
sorry!

Stearman: Oh no...Obozo is a lot of

things, but stupid and lacking intelligence are not among them... unfortunately.

Obozo is bright, but he's also a narcissist and a Marxist, and he'll do whatever it takes to accomplish his goals.

And unfortunately, so far he's done a good job because we're already pretty far down that road.

In fact, I'm afraid that our only real hope is if Orly Taitz is successful, and our Supreme Court forces Obozo to prove his eligibility to be POTUS... which no doubt, he cannot.

But I agree... "Drescher needs to get her rich, spoiled self over to several of the Eastern European countries and ask the people there how they liked living under Communism with free 'health-care.'"

CARTER
You said: "The relationship between the Bush family and the Saudi royal family is as close and corrupt as it can get."

So Obambi bowed and scraped in the appropriate Islamic manner before the corrupt Protector of the Muslim Faith and that's OK?

Spot on article!!!!

My Money, My Rules.
Armstrong, Honey, when the private sector takes my (taxpayer) money, then that private sector ceases to be private and becomes somewhat subject to my will. He who pays the piper calls the tune. Obama's government will interfere with CEOs only when it has to bail them out. If they can keep their heads above water, Obama won't be giving them swimming lessons. The problem is the CEOs who screw up so badly that we have to Send Money. At that point, how the company spends it becomes our business: fire the fool at the top, or else put a leash on him.

Many of us tell our teenage and young adult children "As long as you live in my house, you follow my rules". No different from Corporate America---as long as they take our money, party time is over. Finished. Kaput. We won't pay for five Cessnas and golf junkets and $800 shoes. Armstrong, Baby, if you had a ne'er-do-well brother who kept putting the touch on you but continued to be a spendthrift, believe me, you'd set some limits. And that is what Obama is doing. Bless him for it.

Audacity-Frauds:Mohammed, Hitler, Obama

Dr. Ali Sina, February 8, 2009

http://iranpoliticsclub.net/politics/audacity-frauds/index. htm

“Bold, Arrogant, Megalomaniac, Narcissist, Compulsive Liar and a fraud celebrity, erected by the American Liberal Media and sold to the naïve public as the 44th president of United States of America! Obama with the highest amount of campaign funds in the history of America, had practically bought his way in to the presidency!

“We may wonder how evil men like Hitler and Muhammad fooled so many people to the extent that under their spell they willingly committed the most hideous crimes. Could this happen again? Could, in this day and age, another narcissist deceive millions with his big lies? Sadly, the answer is yes. Human evolution is only technological. Psychologically and emotionally we are still cavemen. It is at this level that people are conned and narcissists operate. Obama’s followers worship him. They act thuggishly towards his critics.

"Even law enforcers, such as sheriffs and prosecutors have agreed with him to abuse their authority and form “Obama Truth Squads.” It is clear the intent is to intimidate h is critics. Does truth need the hand of law? “Yes,” if you ask Hitler, Muhammad and Obama, “no,” if you ask Jesus and Buddha. This is just the beginning. What do Obama’s minions do when he is actually in power? Their cultic mentality and their vicious attacks of his critics can only be likened to that of Muslims, fascists, Nazis, Bolshevists and followers of Jim Jones. This level of fanaticism is unprecedented in American politics.”

Cont…..

Audacity of Frauds: Part II

Mohammed, Hitler, Obama!
Dr. Ali Sina, February 8, 2009

http://iranpoliticsclub.net/politics/audacity-frauds/index. htm

“It does not take much to see that Obama, like the above conmen is a narcissist and like them, dangerous. There are many obvious clues to those who understand narcissism. One is the fact that he is a serial liar. Some of his lies are big, so big that few doubt them.

“Could anyone in their right mind run for the presidency of the USA if he or she is not an American? This sounds ludicrous and yet, there is cause to believe that Obama may actually be an illegal immigrant and ineligible for the senate, let alone the presidency.

“It is not a secret that I am not an Obama fan. I have gone out of my way to w arn Americans to be wary of this Pied Piper.

“Despite my bias, when I first heard this allegation made by Philip Berg, a lifelong Democrat and a former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania, I dismissed it. The possibility of one person having the audacity to bamboozle an entire country and commit a fraud so colossal just seemed too farfetched.

“However, I know a thing or two about narcissism. I know narcissists have no grasp of reality and as such they can be very audacious. I also know about the magic of the big lie. So I paid attention to what Berg says and hey, he seems to be on to something. Then again, what did Obama have to lose? He may not even have dreamt that he would win. Just running for presidency would have given him fame and recognition, something a narcissist would kill for. But hey, the world is full of suckers and surprise, what started as a prank became a reality.”

And be sure to note the paragraph quoted from Chapter 10 of Mein Kampf.

Democracy = weakness
Democracy as practised in Europe leads naturally to socialism, since no clear mandate is likely to emerge, you're given a mish-mash of 'coalition governments' rendered politically impotent. The structure is voilatile by nature, which capital rightly interprets as risk, so it stays away and impoverishes people moreso. The recent kidnappings of several company executives by workers in France in order to gain better severance packages is, appallingly, tolerated in their new-twisted- world-order of social justice. Finally, the lack of outrage at these high crimes, if not the simple failure to punish the criminals is a nasty indicator of things to come.

Regards

lilly
What you say initially seems to make sense. But you could eliminate the problem entirely if a) you were taxed differently b) the gov't didn't give bailouts in the first place. What you describe is extortion.

Once you have been taxed the money ain't yo' no' mo', so you don't have any say in it's distribution.

Study the Fair Tax.

lilly Honey, that's exactly why

this whole "bail out" is unConstitutional!

The govt. has NO BUSINESS being in the private sector!

It's all part of Obozo's goal to make the US a Marxist-Communist country.

You don't seem to realize that the "private sector ceased to be private" because the govt TOOK IT OVER, and by force!

WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU???

And, while it's our(taxpayer) money, it's not YOUR will... it's the govt's will.

Big difference!

'Democraps' & UCons: Something in Common

Thanks to TownHall.com, we "Democraps" and Ultra Conservatives (UCons) have more in common than meets the eye: A common language critical of Presidents we hold in contempt.

Check out today's Town Hall headlines and stories, and wherever you find the name Obama substitute Bush and by George W., it fits!

"Obama (Bush), The Charming Menace to Peace and Prosperity."

"Three Ways to Protect Yourself From the Coming Chaos." (Could have been a 2000 headline.)

"The Smell Has Returned!" (The 2004 election results).

And this paragraph from Armstrong Williams is a direct hit:

"President Obama (Bush) returns this week from his whirlwind, “It’s good to be me” tour through continental Europe and Asia. Many here stateside are beginning to whisper that Obama (Bush) is the most arrogant leader this country has seen in a generation. He holds Americans and the Constitution in utter contempt."

"How banks were bullied into making

bad loans'Community activists' used pressure tactics to secure high-risk mortgages"

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=94031

Bruce Marks, head of the NACA

"WASHINGTON – Using tools provided by the federal Community Reinvestment Act, community organizers led by a self-described "banking terrorist" applied bullying tactics to secure high-risk mortgages and to shake down lending institutions for billions of dollars – actions that likely contributed to the "mortgage meltdown" that triggered the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

"That's the substance of a new report by the Capital Research Center on the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America headed by Bruce Marks.

"'Time and again, NACA has combined the street tactics of protest and demonstration with public policy tools such as the Community Reinvestment Act to pressure banks into expanding their operations in poor neighborhoods,' says the report authored by David Hogberg. 'NACA typically extracts self-serving concessions from banks, forcing them to provide it with funds that it then uses to make mortgage loans to low-income borrowers. NACA rolls the fees it earns servicing these loans back into its campaign of bullying banks.'

"In 2007, the year before the crash, NACA obtained $10 billion in bank commitments for its own loan commitments with what the group admits were aggressive, hounding20intimidation tactics.

"'NACA has been accused of being overly aggressive and personal," explains the group's website. 'NACA wears this as a badge of honor, leaving no stone unturned and often hounding CEOs from their shareholder meetings to their homes. The rationale is simple: lenders have a personal and often devastating impact on the lives of the people who they refuse to provide affordable credit to or take advantage of through predatory loans and scams.'"

Judge Andrew Napolitano reports:

"This person runs a bank that's worth about $250 billion, it has no subprime loans, it has no bad debts, wasn't involved in credit default swaps, It didn't need any money. It didn't ask for the money and didn't want it.

"The FDIC with Paulson said 'if you don't take this money, we will conduct a multi-year public audit of you.'

"Though the bank was solvent, fighting the government on the terms wasn't worth in the final cost-benefit analysis and the bank's board decided to accept bailout money, despite the protests of that bank's head and having the government become part-owner of the bank.

"It would cost them millions in employee time to give the gove rnment the documents it wanted, it would cost terrible publicity. The terrible publicity and that would mean a loss of business.

"He begged his board of directors to let him tell the Feds to go take a hik e. The board caved. He was forced - the board was forced to issue a class of stock just for the federal government. The federal government owns 2 percent of this huge=2 0bank. As a result of that minority ownership, they now want to control salaries. They want to see his books and they want to tell him who he can do business with.

"But, the tactic the government employed was nothing short of extortion, under its legal definition."

"Suboptimal" rather euphemistic
In February, Oblunder became the first POTUS to go to Ottawa with an almsbowl--and he hasn't improved on that since!

It Is Great!!
When you are on my side and seeing with clear eyes, I think you are one cool guy. Most of the commenters from the other side were having a hard time with the word "OBEISANCE". They thought you said obedient. But the word you used is perfect. That word and your article explains to the American People exactly where our President's head is, and where their heads will soon be. Thanks for trying really hard to explain to these "Smart People" that these people are serious about their religion. They may have defectors who find a way to escape, but they do not have "HYPOCRITES" no matter how much the word Moderate has become the Politically Correct word of the day. Perhaps the "Smart People" will get it when the President meets with Hugo. At least I hope the commenters will get it. They seemed to have gotten it fairly well to me, when our Loyal, Patriotic, Black Caucus, Democrat Congress (Little Waxmans), met with the Castros.

well spoken, Williams!
And Obama has achieved all of this with the worldwide and tireless support of a sycophantic press. It is so depressing to watch the president of the United States as he denigrates America to the adoring Europeans and elite, especially when all I see is an overgrown teenager who's been listening to too many 60's folk songs. Everybody, all together now, "I want to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...."

“There are many parts of Texas that are very
pretty. Much more that are not. My daughter
lives there. Dallas is one of the most
boring and homely big cities I have ever
encountered. And the drivers are beyond pathetic.

“As for Chicago, I LOVE Chicago - in the summertime. In the winter, not so much.”

Tammy – How I wish I had checked out this article yesterday and seen your comments. Now you are probably off to newer columns and won’t be back here. But your comments made me laugh because, well, I sort of agree! I will also say though that I agree with Karen that there are many good people here and lots of wonderful things about TX. I’m just not sure why she thinks Texas is going to save the U.S. I mean, we had a Texan (sort of) in office for eight years and look how that worked out.

I lived in the Chicago area for 6 years, graduated from UI/Chicago and my first son was born in the area, and I have many fond memories of living there. Great city except in the winter!!!

Thanks Mr. Williams, Rowly and ........
Tea Party for your comments. I appreciate what you have written. It's great to read thoughtful and exemplar commentary!!
