Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

At this, even Hillary Clinton was thinking, "Come on, guys -- let's grow a pair."

Obama was asked to name "America's three most important allies around the world" -- a question rejected as "too easy" on Fox's new game show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" Any politically savvy 11-year-old could have named Britain, Australia and Israel.

B. Hussein Obama answered: "the European Union." Which is (a) not a country, and (b) not an ally.

What was his next guess? Epcot Center?

In addition to not being a country, the "European Union" happens to be composed of people who hate our guts. It is the continent where Moveon.org-style lunatics are the friendly, pro-American types and the rest are crazy Muslims.

Obama did eventually mention Japan as an ally -- along with China and Afghanistan -- which would have been a better answer to the question: "Who are America's four or five most important allies?" But at least he named a country that could conceivably be called "an ally."

Of course, it took Obama less time to remember an American ally than it took John Edwards to remember Jesus. Edwards was asked who his "moral leader" was -- and he was stuck for an answer.

I had time to shout "Jesus" at the TV 20 times, exhaust myself, and have a sandwich before Edwards finally coughed up "mah lowrd." Even then it appeared that Edwards was not actually naming the Savior but exclaiming, "Mah lowrd, that's a tough question!"

Edwards then put "mah lowrd" (assuming that was his answer) on a par with other moral leaders such as his father -- who had embarrassed him so as a child -- and his wife. (When he mentioned his spouse as a "moral leader," Hillary visibly tensed for fear that she might be asked the same question.)

In fairness to Edwards, asking a trial lawyer to name his favorite moral leader is like asking the president of Iran to name his favorite Jew. (Answer: George Soros.)

If you're keeping score, that's two major religions the Democrats lack a working knowledge of -- Christianity and Islam.

The point WWJD...

That is, the real point. This is Ann Coulter’s column, not your’s. Hence the reason I referred to you in an earlier post as a “malignant narcissist.” If you were anything but a self-absorbed left wing sycophant, you would have addressed the thread. Your’s however, is a classic liberal diversionary tactic. Truth is. Had she written about any of the other things you listed you still would have had a laundry list of other more pressing issues to debate. Thankfully, you are not the decider.

The foregoing notwithstanding, again, we learn more about you from your omissions. Cognitive dissonance or willful exclusion? How does one write a synopsis of U.S. involvement in Vietnam without any mention of JFK – the very President who escalated our political and military participation there? Oh, and NO! I don’t see any parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. That is, other than the lefts calculated, insidious attempts to undermine the efforts of our military and, as was the case with Nixon, their (the lefts) similarly maniacal hatred for Bush.

Gotta love your feigned attempt to appear objective by dismissing Clinton as little more than, “a pot smoking egghead who had more interest in adultery and illegal Asian campaign contributions then war.” Would that those things were true? Unfortunately, Clinton’s moral turpitude and inaction cost us big-time: emboldening our enemies’ ala World Trade Center bombing in 93, the Embassy bombings and the bombing of the Cole and ultimately set the stage for 911. And Clinton not only got us into war, he unilaterally went to war in Bosnia and Kosovo.

Your reference to “Asian campaign contributions” is priceless to. Would that be China? The same China that, thanks to Bubba & Co. now has the ability to lob ICBMs into the continental U.S. with pinpoint accuracy?

What you and the other True Believers on the left fail to realize is, the WOT is a clash of cultures. The fanatical Islamists will not and have not stopped at the waters edge and the more we fight and disrupt there plans over there, the less we will have to fight and disrupt rhere plans over here.

The point again for Cutter
Cutter, perhaps I wasn't clear enough but I'll reiterate the precise meanings for my references so they may not strike you as ironic, nor off topic.

A look at Eisenhower is extremely crucial to the most important debate of the day and I'll explain why for those who are not familiar with our history. Eisenhower was a man of paradox - the son of Jehovah's Witnesses and pacifists who became a soldier, a president and the leader of the free world in it's truest sense. Eisenhower was an effective war strategist who understood that war is to be avoided. Eisenhower fought bitterly against politicians and idealogues who wanted to use US strength used for imperialism or economic domination.

Here comes the important part. Eisenhower's final message to the American people was a WARNING. His televised farewell speech in 1961, during the growing Cold War was one of morality and calm, despite the spread of Communism, he opposed McCarthyism and using fear tactics and secrecy. What he saw happening from the top down as our President was the insidious greed of military-industry clamoring for conflict to feed the war machine, for economic benefit and drunk with power. He knew the immoral leaders of industry had already become enmeshed with immoral politicians - he knew the only cure was making sure the people always knew it was up to them to self-govern and to be ever vigilant of these unnecessary build-ups because we'd eventually find ourselves in a war somewhere.

This was a soldier who defeated the REAL axis of evil the hard way, and had to see young snots like Nixon, LBJ and Bob McNamara committing "sell jobs" based on Bernaysian fear campaigns to justify fake wars and false heroism, talking smugly with insufficient intelligence, and bringing us into an absurdly dumb war in the jungle where we lost 60,000 troops and ended the war after a shameful national morality check, wondering how we ever got led into napalming women and children.

Eisenhower stood firm against Communism, but wasn't willing to fight in Vietnam. He opposed deploying US troops in great numbers in Vietnam because he was a real war strategist who knew it was a deathtrap that would require an enormous commitment. His attempts to bolster South Vietnam and French forces economically were proving ineffective and he knew well that our own defense industry was doing all it could to provoke war, buying more influence by the day. Eisenhower knew where it was heading and so he outed the problem for all Americans to see.

Eisenhower was warning us against our own fear and timidity. He told us we to say NO to our own government when they want to take us into wars that serve little purpose other then to enrich defense contractors. He recommended OVERSIGHT and a watchful eye.

I assume you see my point now - the direct similarity between the Vietnam war and this war where the LBJ tapes reveal Johnson was dying for a way out of Vietnam but didn't just end the war because of his own silly ego - he didn't want to pay the political price.

I don't know what you want me to say about Clinton, he was a pot smoking egghead who had more interest in adultery and illegal Asian campaign contributions then war. He downsized the military and put all the money saved towards the out of control deficit. The tension between his administration of the Newt controlled congress produced the greatest economic boom of our lifetimes, creating more millionaires then ever before in history, including most of the lawyers in the Rose law firm.

After spending millions of taxpayer dollars, they finally impeached him for lying to investigators, which humiliated and humbled him. This brings me back to the Bush presidency. Despite you trying to chide me as having "Bush Derangement Syndrome" I'd insist that W is a far worse leader then Bubbah, for the reasons cited by the most basic principles of conservatism, ethics and fiscal responsibility. Bush represents a clear and immediate danger to our grandchildren because they have turened America into the greatest debtor nation in the world, with negative savings and an enormous hole in our economy called the national debt.
Bush and Cheney have sold our grandchildren's economic future to China, and have been stovepiping money directly to the wealthiest 1% of the country's elite.

I can appreciate free markets and capitalism, both Milton and Tom Friedman and the iea of keeping government regulation to the minimum needed to enforce anti-trust and civil liberty laws, etc. But the Iraq war is an obvious abuse and exploitation of America, with defense contractors war profiteering for half a decade now, no oversight, and glaring conflicts of interest being discovered every day. Yesterday it was that Condi was dirty all along, looking the other way as Chevron paid bribes to Saddam Hussein. Today we found out that millions of barrels of oil PER DAY were being skimmed since the beginning of the war with no idea where it all went. Corruption or imbecility? Take your pick.

What I'm pointing out here in Ann Coulter's blog is how glaring and obvious this illegal war is, and how important it is, while Ann Coulter and all her fans try their hardest to pretend like they don't need to discuss this illegal war which violates the two of the most importtants tenets of conservatism - morality and fiscal responsibility.
