Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

I've caught Obama fever! Obamamania, Obamarama, Obama, Obama, Obama. (I just pray to God this is clean, renewable electricity I'm feeling.)

Only white guilt could explain the insanely hyperbolic descriptions of Obama's "eloquence." His speeches are a run-on string of embarrassing, sophomoric Hallmark bromides.

In announcing his candidacy last week, Obama confirmed that he believes in "the basic decency of the American people." And let the chips fall where they may!

Obama forthrightly decried "a smallness of our politics" -- deftly slipping a sword into the sides of the smallness-in-politics advocates. (To his credit, he somehow avoided saying, "My fellow Americans, size does matter.")

He took a strong stand against the anti-hope crowd, saying: "There are those who don't believe in talking about hope." Take that, Hillary!

Most weirdly, he said: "I recognize there is a certain presumptuousness in this -- a certain audacity -- to this announcement."

What is so audacious about announcing that you're running for president? Any idiot can run for president. Dennis Kucinich is running for president. Until he was imprisoned, Lyndon LaRouche used to run for president constantly. John Kerry ran for president. Today, all you have to do is suggest a date by which U.S. forces in Iraq should surrender, and you're officially a Democratic candidate for president.

Obama made his announcement surrounded by hundreds of adoring Democratic voters. And those were just the reporters. There were about 400 more reporters at Obama's announcement than Mitt Romney's, who, by the way, is more likely to be sworn in as our next president than B. Hussein Obama.

Obama has locked up the Hollywood money. Even Miss America has endorsed Obama. (John "Two Americas" Edwards is still hoping for the other Miss America to endorse him.)

But Obama tells us he's brave for announcing that he's running for president. And if life gives you lemons, make lemonade!

I don't want to say that Obama didn't say anything in his announcement, but afterward, even Jesse Jackson was asking, "What did he say?" There was one refreshing aspect to Obama's announcement: It was nice to see a man call a press conference this week to announce something other than he was the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby.

B. Hussein Obama's announcement also included this gem: "I know that I haven't spent a lot of time learning the ways of Washington. But I've been there long enough to know that the ways of Washington must change." As long as Obama insists on using Hallmark card greetings in his speeches, he could at least get Jesse Jackson to help him with the rhyming.

If Obama's biggest asset is his inexperience, then if by the slightest chance he were elected and were to run for a second term, he will have to claim he didn't learn anything the first four years.

There was also this inspirational nugget: "Each and every time, a new generation has risen up and done what's needed to be done. Today we are called once more, and it is time for our generation to answer that call." Is this guy running for president or trying to get people to switch to a new long-distance provider?

He said that "we learned to disagree without being disagreeable." (There goes Howard Dean's endorsement.) This was an improvement on the first draft, which read, "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice."

This guy's like the ANWR of trite political aphorisms. There's no telling exactly how many he's sitting on, but it could be in the billions.

Obama's famed eloquence reminds me of a book of platitudes I read about once called "Life Lessons." The book contained such inspiring thoughts as:

"When was the last time you really looked at the sea? Or smelled the morning? Touched a baby's hair? Really tasted and enjoyed food? Walked barefoot in the grass? Looked in the blue sky?" (When was the last time you fantasized about dismembering the authors of a book of platitudes?)

I can't wait for Obama's inaugural address when he reveals that he loves long walks in the rain, sunsets, and fresh-baked cookies shaped like puppies.

The guy I feel sorry for is Harold Ford. The former representative from Tennessee is also black, a Democrat, about the same age as Obama, and is every bit as attractive. The difference is, when he talks, you don't fantasize about plunging knitting needles into your ears to stop the gusher of meaningless platitudes.

Ford ran as a Democrat in Republican Tennessee and almost won -- and the press didn't knock out his opponent for him by unsealing sealed divorce records, as it did for B. Hussein Obama. Yet no one ever talks about Ford as the second coming of Cary Grant and Albert Einstein.

Maybe liberals aren't secret racists expunging vast stores of white guilt by hyperventilating over B. Hussein Obama. Maybe they're just running out of greeting card inscriptions.

Obama and Springfield
Did anybody tell the Obama puppet that when today's "Generation Whine" thinks of Springfield, they don't think of Lincoln? If they know Lincoln at all, they know he's a guy in a hat who sells sleeping medication and plays chess with a beaver who accuses him of cheating.

Doesn't Obama's wife, who appears to be channeling Flip Wilson's "Geraldine" character, let him watch The Simpsons?

Simpsons? Springfield? HELLOOOOOO?

This is not a run for the Presidency. This is a Sketch from Saturday Night Live.

:)
:)

Someone please tell me what the BFD is?

I have spent some time observing this man, and I don't get it.

The only thing that makes him a credible candidate is the MSM's inexplicable adoration of him.

He is supposed to be handsome, but if we are going to have a beauty contest, Mitt Romney wins hands down.

If we have a popularity contest, Gulliani wipes the floor with him.

And if we have a pain-and-suffering victim contest, who else would win but John McCain.

Obama is nothing to write home about.

Nevertheless, the MSM seems determed to write reams about him.

Hopefully, the American people will notice that behind all those words is a big ho-hum!

JUST ANOTHER HUSTLER
Race hustler, that is. To listen to this guy on 60 Minutes describe how he is likely to be killed for being black by just 'going to the store' should raise red flags all around.
But alas, as Ms. Coulter points out, he has the LLMSM fawning all over him. The 'young and handsome' senator with the vision. The 'young and handsome ' senator with the new ideas, which is really nothing new at all, just the same old liberal pablum about big government taking care of the 'disenfranchised,'the 'disposessed' and any and all other code words one cares to use.
One gleaming light in all of this: the polls - how the liberals love polls- show Madame Hillary cleaning his clock.
Like the moonbats love to post on this site:
Can't wait for 08. Go Hillary! Go!

B Hussein
Well the man is well-spoken or art'culate - if you will. And he does seem clean though I can't be sure. I guess only his wife would know that but she's too busy complaining about racial discrimination and whatnot to give us the lowdwon. I mean it's certainly obvious to me how much prejudice and discrimination inflicted on him by the evil white man has held him back. After all despite his intelligence and hard work because f the color of his skin all he has become is a U.S. Senator from the State of Illinois. Oh the shame of it all. I am shocked, shocked I tell you that even in the year 2007 an African American can still be held back like this. If it weren't for the racial inequality he might have had a real job in the private sector - but no. He will forced to endure the menial task of making federal law, voting on treaties, appointing federal judges etc. while running for President and actually being considered a viable candidate by empty headed Dimocrats. Oh the inhumanity of it all!

Just Elect Richie
Senator Obama is merely a mouthpiece for Mayor Daley of Chicago. Like most other successful Illinois politicians of both(?) parties, he got where he is by doing what he was told to do, and doing so in a photogenic and articulate manner. What is hilarious about this is that Daley has endorsed Obama over Hillary because he is a local fellow. Hillary grew up in Park Ridge there in Cook County, Illinois, and Obama grew up where? The only thing that surrenders faster than a Democratic Presidential candidate on Iraq is an Illinois Republican running afoul of the Chicago Machine. Biologists tell me that is the natural reaction of a rat confronted with a weasel. But, the Good Senator Obama is going to have to run the gauntlet of the Clinton Smear Machine and that is no easy task. It has already been intimated that Obama is a closet Muslim. Just wait until the rest of his raw FBI file hits the MSM! The same goes for all the liberal Republicans listed by Mountain Rose. I could support Tancredo or Ron Paul, but as I have vowed to never vote for another liberal, if any of the current front running Republicans get the nomination, I will be staying home.

He's like...
Charlie Brown's teacher. Whenever he opens he mouth all I hear is, "wa wa waaa wa wa." Obama is great at sounding good without really saying anything at all.

Thanks Ann, and all here...
Cartoons, SNL, Flip Wilson -- & Jessie Jackson!

I've been rolling around on the floor laughing. Too funny!

Wait -- this man is running for president of the USA ... O my ....

The Same
No difference. The Clean One has not and will not vote for or do anything benificial for the American people or for America. So he can speak in complete sentences. Big deal. As Ann points out, he and other dumbocraps, only offer hate and distain towards the U.S. and is hell bent on distroying this country.

Action
I will consider the man's actions rather than his words. So far, I am not impressed.

Mountain Rose
He's flashy like JFK was. Unfortunately for Osama, he ain't got a daddy named Joe Sr, who can count on a guy named Daly, and buy the Chicago vote for his son.

Osama Obama is an empty suit. He has absolutely no experience other than raising taxes and speaking in liberalese.

I guess Ann has decided she
prefers Hillary. :-)

"Obama made his announcement surrounded by hundreds of adoring Democratic voters. And those were just the reporters." Good one!

Ever Present..............
Some news channel, not CNN for sure, was reported when B. Hussein Obama was a state legislator he voted "present" on many issues that would have given one a true picture of just what he does believe.

I'm sure this will not be the last time his state voting record is discussed on the blogs or maybe FOX.

Speaking of a fox; did I mention that the lovely Megyn Kelly will begin hosting the 9 AM FOX show will Bill Hemmer. It's great to be retired and your biggest worry is you may sleep past 9AM.

Of course
Of course the liberal Democrats are iln fits of rapture, this is the first black democratic candidate that can speak something other than Ebonics.

A Profile in Courage
Ann wrote:
"But Obama tells us he's brave for announcing that he's running for president."

Of course he's brave. In fact, he's so brave that he's willing to risk his life just to put gas in the family car.

Yes...
He is an empty suit. Nothing but platitudes, as Ann says, and no record to run against him. Much like Souter when he was selected for the Supreme Court--no legal paper trail to be used against him and we saw how that came out.

Mountain Rose
Obama is easy on a woman's eyes and he sounds good. I doubt any of us remember what he's saying after he's done saying it, but it doesn't really matter because he sounds good. He reminds me a lot of Mike Gravel (another Democrat running for President) when he was about the same age. Handsome, well-spoken, totally vacuous. He gave Alaska 12 years of absolutely nothing, but he convinced us that we really like Republicans, so he can't have been all that bad.

I will highlight that Alaskans voted Mike into office twice, so I'm not going to try to say that Obama can't win. There are a lot of people out there who don't care about the issues, they just want some handsome smooth-talker in the office and they figure if he makes them feel safe (because of the hypnotism factor, I guess) he's going to be a great leader. History usually records such handsome snake-oil salesman leave you with empty pockets and broken dreams.

Kimberly
Ann a moron? Have you read your own empty posts? Besides, where's your usual love? Isn't she a poor dear you just have to feel sorry for?

Obama impresses me; Coulter doesn't
Now that Madalyn Murray O'Hair is dead, is there a meaner woman in the country than Ann Coulter? I doubt it. She certainly pours forth venom every opportunity she gets, and thereby reveals her stupidity and/or bigotry.

As for Obama: I want to give the guy a hearing before I dismiss him entirely. I have read his two books, and they were very impressive, especially the first one in which he revealed himself so fully.

Two opportunities Obama may have attract me.

(1) He could help bridge that continuing gap between black and white in America. He could lessen bigotry among those whites who still are bigoted and help African-Americans toss aside their bigotry arising out of deep anger. As a half-white, half-black, Obama would be in a unique position to deal with this problem.

(2) He could be a powerful weapon in the fight against Muslim crazies who hate the USA so vehemently. He himself, of course, is a Christian - a member of the same Chicago congregation as Oprah Winfred. But the fact that his father was a Muslim could impress the world that American would elect such a man and could undermine the continuing attempts of Islamic extremists to rally Muslims against us. He might even begin to help reconcile Islam and Christianity, both Abrahamic faiths - something Christ certainly would approve. How many know that Jesus is a revered prophet among Muslims, and that there is more about the Virgin Mary in the Quran than in the Bible? Islam and Christianity - and Judaism, too - all are Abrahamic faiths, sharing much in common. The real battle is with Muslim crackpots and not with the rank and file Muslims.

Meanwhile, why do otherwise intelligent people pay attention to Ann Coulter? Her tone and 'facts' resemble the tone and 'facts' of our enemies. Like them, she is a wild-eyed, raving extremist.

God bless America.

Reply To Ann Coulter
Michelle Malkin said this after Obama regretted and apologized within hours for mispeaking about the troops:

"So what, one wonders, prevented him from immediately correcting himself there on stage, as thousands cheered the term he now says he immediately regretted (MM)?
***

Fair enough.
***

Ann Coulter said this:

"The guy I feel sorry for is Harold Ford. The former representative from Tennessee is also black, a Democrat, about the same age as Obama, and is every bit as attractive (AC)."
***

So why didn't Ann Coulter speak out immediately, back in October 2006, when the ads first appeared, before the November elections, when it would have done some good, and attack the Republican National Committees' racist Naked White Lady ad, which caused Harold Ford's defeat?

Instead Ms. Coulter waited 4 months, (16 weeks, 112 days, 2,688 hours, 161,280 minutes), to speak out!!!

Only in conservatives circles can Obama take 24 hours to apologize and still get bludgeoned by Ms. Malkin, while Ann Coulter can take over one hundred times longer, 2,688 hours, to express her regrets, but get a pass from the same Ms. Malkin.
***

I hope Obama wins!!!

At first I didn't want Obama to run, because I felt that others should have been afforded that opportunity long ago:

Lieutenant General Benjamin O. Davis Jr. of the famed 99th Pursuit Squadron, and the first US Sky-Chief who got rid of the terrorist hijackers back in the 70s.

Julian Bond, nominated for Vice President in 60s, but was too young to accept.

Martin Luther King, most assuredly would have run had he lived.

But after reading these virulent attacks by conservatives, I hope Obama wins!!!

Roy
I thought the half-black/half-white, unite the races thing happened when Halle Berry won the Oscar and Julia Roberts loved her life because Denzel Washington won another one.

How soon people forget, I guess.

Black Knight
Michelle Malkin's point is correct. According to Obama himself, he realised IMMEDIATELY that he had "mispoke". As soon as he realised it, he SHOULD have apologised. End of story.

Nothing whatSOEVER got to do with what anyone ELSE should have apologised for.

Lets get to your analogy. Completely IRRational. Malkin's point was that Obama should have apologised for what HE himSELF said was an immediately realised mis-statement.

You cannot draw an analogy with Coulter's responsiblility for what OTHER people - be they Republicans or not - do. Each is responsible ONLY for his/her OWN actions. And Coulter's expression of regret is NOT an "apology" nor is it meant to be. It is simply that; a statement of regret.

Regarding your list. No doubt a worthy one. Where is Colin Powell? And why is it all black? Are you a racist? In addition, "wishing Obama to win the race should have NOTHING to do with the people who "attack him". But have EVERYthing to do with his character and what he stands for.

Personally, he is the polar opposite to me in terms of what I can conclude from his voting record. Please do not MISinterpret this as a - what's that again - "virulent attack"??

Roy
So now, to be in a "unique" position to deal with the "race problem" it is necessary to be half-black half-white? Nothing whatever to do with a person's QUALITIES? But everything to do with RACE? I want to be polite but I cant find a polite way of asking this: Are you a racist?

Lynn
Of course this is going to be a long drawn-out campaign. When was the last time we saw a presidential campaign start right after the mid-term elections? I am already tired of the nonsense-I can hardly wait for it to really start! :-)

Roy
Please point out an example of venom in this article. And if you can't give us specific example of 'facts' (your quotation mark, not mine) that Ann has made up, then why should we consider you reasonable and credible?

You really think that people whose hearts are so hard with racism will be won over just because a black man is elected president? It would more likely entrench them further. Such people delude themselves into believing that blacks and so-called "black lovers" are out to get them. The election of a black president would send them into greater delusions of persecution, not reform them.

Similarly, you must be joking that Muslims would be impressed because Obama's father was a Muslim. First of all, Barack himself is not a Muslim, so I doubt that his father's faith would carry more weight than Barack's faith. Second, Muslims who convert to Christianity are condemned to death. Period. In that respect, Barack would actually be a more inflammatory person to present to Muslims than someone who has always been a Christian and was born to Christian parents.

There's more about Mary, mother of Jesus, in a single Amanda Marcotte blog entry than in the entire Bible, but that doesn't mean Marcotte's portrayal of her is reverent or even accurate. Your comment is beyond pointless.

Jesus is revered as a prophet by Muslims, but they deny that he is the Messiah, which is the very core of Christianity. How can anyone be so ignorant as to claim that reverence of Jesus as a prophet by Muslims, as well as the fact that Muhammed based his delusions partially on Judaism up to the point of Abraham, means the two faiths have much in common? There are many values we share, and many we don't, but the core beliefs from which those values are derived are very different. The most fundamental difference is that we Christians believe Jesus was God and died and rose to give us free salvation that we cannot attain on our own, while Muslims believe that salvation can never be assured, except in the rare case that a Muslim is martyred for Allah. Either way, they believe in working their way into God's favor. Jesus would approve of reconciliation with Muslims, but He would never approve of us accepting a false religion as being equally valid as Christianity. Love the sinner, hate the sin (false idolatry).

Lynne
Sorry about dropping the "e" on the first comment!

Al(ice) Franken is thinking of running for the Senate from Minnesota instead of Ill. He wants to defeat the Republican, Norm Coleman.

Black Knight
"[R]acist Naked White Lady ad"? I don't remember seeing a naked woman in that ad. Right there, you damaged your credibility.

Would you have preferred that they used a black woman, just because Ford is black? Wouldn't that be racist? Or is it that whites are not allowed to make any charges, even if they're true, against a black regarding his moral behavior because it will always be racist? If you say they simply shouldn't have made the ad at all, even if Ford had been white, then that's an argument about the appropriateness of playing on Ford's attendance of Playboy parties, not a charge of racism.

Yeah...
Sorry about that! I didn't scroll back up to ensure I had it spelled right when I wrote the comment. I won't make that mistake again LynnE!

:-)

To Roy
Don't be too hard on Coulter. You have to understand her---think of her this way---a three year-old girl who has discovered that she can get a rise out of the grownups by pulling up her skirt. And she just lo--oo--ves that moment when they're all horrified and yelling.

Franken enters the senate race
I saw this just now on yahoo.com:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070215/ap_on_el_se/senate_franken_20

Interesting that we just were discussing it!

leftismkiller
LOL ! That Al Frankin remark is priceless !

Oprah for President !

To Roy
Don't be too hard on Maureen Dowd. You have to understand her---think of her this way---a three year-old girl who has discovered that she can get a rise out of the grownups by pulling up her skirt. And she just lo--oo--ves that moment when they're all horrified and yelling.

When I grow up, I want to be vacuous and incapable of making a real argument, just like lilly.

I want my money back!
Kimberly didn't use the words "project" or "shrill." What's the world coming to? But I guess she did use "wingnut." I'll let it slide this time, but, man, I am not happy.

Obama
Half black, half white, half wit.

FAR too liberal
I don't care what race he is, I couldn't vote for Barak because he's an extreme left winger.

On the other hand, I could vote pretty easily for men & women like JC Watts, Herman Cain, Michael Steele, Thomas Sowell, Star Parker, Ward Connerly, Michelle Malkin, Walter Williams, Lynn Swann or Ken Blackwell.

Arguments to the contrary, affirmative action does NOT attempt to 'level the playing field'. A level playing field would mean that everyone is held to the same standard. Affirmative action holds minorities to a lower standard, apparantly because supporters of Affirmative action believe that minorities aren't able to compete according to the same standards.

I oppose black history month for the same reason I'd oppose a white history month, a hispanic history month, a men's history month or any other 'targeted' history month. We need to study the accomplishments of EVERY significant individual, regardless of race, sex, religion or color.

Stop playing the race card.

1 Strike missed so far
If the MSM is all aflitter over him, this is a bad sign in my opinion. If the MSM dog him at every turn, I have more tendency to check him/her out.

This race relations tripe is getting really old. Where I work, blacks, whites, Latinos, Asians, ect. all work together in a professional and respectful environment. The only racism I see is on TV.

Not quite far enough reaches...
Why, if Ann is such a poor writer, would you bother reading her and then telling everyone about it? If she is truly so lousy a write you wouldn't waste your time either reading her "tripe" or even posting a response to her columns.

It is always amazing how the leftists who tell us how bad Ann is and demean and degrade her continue to read her--is it a genetic disorder with them!?

leftismkiller
you got that right! But reading their diatribes is a lot like looking at an accident--we don't want to do it 'cause it is ugly but we can't help ourselves! :-)

Furthest_Reaches
LOL! So you find her "perplexing" as well as "sophomoric"??? And there was nothing "polite" about your last suggestion. Fact is that she is entertaining, and NOT because her fans (Of which I am not in particular..) "read little otherwise"! What an incredible generalisation!

On a final point of information. Just wondering where you got the "80%" figure from? Naw. You didnt! Tell me it isnt so! Dont say you just picked the number which just popped into your head! LOL!

Lefty Readers
have to read Coulter, Malkin, et.al. for their own educations. All they get from their own side is the same ol' same ol'...you name the writer of the article in LA, I'll tell you what they said verbatum by reading the Boston paper. Too bad for them that they don't know why they do it...THAT is the genetic flaw of liberalism.

Gee, His rating is only 95% to the Left?

Ann's article about the msm swoon over their invention of Obama The Great is a riot, and so are the majority of the Posts following ...LOL
Now I'm thinking this pervasive annoyance could be one of the most entertaining presidential campaigns we've ever seen. They just need to haul out Hussein's mother, I mean wife, with her own microphone every now and then.

Obama is losing
his cool as reported on the news tonight. He has become testy with reporters and finding it difficult to take criticisms launched his way. He better toughen up if he wants to stay in for the long haul. He has barely had a brush with the Shrillary machine.
Swampfox you said the funniest. Half black, half white, half wit. IMAO!

It all makes sense now...
Reading the comments here made me understand why that Fox "News" neocon comedy show was so dreadful.

Leave the witty comments to the left, folks -- you're just embarrassing yourselves.

The Fox News Show
doesn't debut until Sunday night after Hannity's America and the clips looked pretty funny to me.

OhmyGawddd!
"Maybe liberals aren't secret racists expunging vast stores of white guilt by hyperventilating over B. Hussein Obama. Maybe they're just running out of greeting card inscriptions."

This is the most acid, stinging, side-splitting, exploding, magnificent, sarcastic one-two punch Ann has ever delivered. This is the most ammazing expose of the putrid stench emanating from the MSM. Explode them for what they are, Ann - gas balls shot high by a highbucking crazy horse.

It's the name stupid
What American in good conscience can cast a vote for President of the United States with the name

"Barack Hussein Obama"

Obama is embarassing
I also don't believe he's all that intelligent...just glib. Assuming the same sort of pressure is put on him as other candidates (which is a big assumption, given the media's ridiculous fawning over him), including tough questions, political satire, and cartoon caricatures of his appearance, and you'll see him fold like a lawn chair.

Speaking of Al Frankin....
Is he going to run for the Senate under his legal name (Stuart Smalley) or is he gooing to continue his Air America life of lies and run as Al Frankin?

Y'all.....
I notice that lilly rhymes with silly.

All these funny comments much appreciated on this cold northeast morning, making it unnecessary for me to add a thing. Except that I, as a female, find the Obama person quite UNattractive, resembling the fellow on Mad mag's cover, and looking as though he's laughing at us all. (Do you think Oprah's backing him?)
Are we to have yet another Dem candidate with a wife who utters sappy comments? Will she, too, cross her arms over her chest to represent some vague sort of humility?
Finally, Ann's good, love her writing, her humor, look forward to it.
Complain about nasty after you've finished reading Dowd.

"Meanest woman"? Mrs. Obama!
Have you looked at her lips? If you're not old enough to remember Flip Wilson, or Southern enough to have seen a Black woman in Wal-Mart with a hatful of kids, you may have missed it. But take a look at Mrs. Obama and note the thinned, pursed lips that signal to the world "Don't make me come down there!"

I have the feeling that Mrs. Obama in the White House would make the Ketchup Lady look like Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (God bless her). I can't wait until she makes her first public speech. "What you SEE is what you GET!" indeed.

Obama who?
If B Obama wins the presidency, I think he will step forward and tell the American people, "I am a grad student who was doing a sociological study of how guilty people would feel about our country's past racist injustices. I wanted to see how far I could take this experiment. So I ran for office and said nothing truly substantive. I quoted a lot of meaningless platitudes and smiled a lot, but I really, purposely said nothing at all. In the end, I was elected as your president and honestly, I just didn't think you would do it. So, I withdraw myself from the presidency. All I wanted to do was complete my doctoral thesis and get on with my life." Wouldn't that be a shocker? I wish that were true. Unfortunately, I think this guy is for real.

If Obama gets elected on his ideals, on his record as a politician, as a leader with great qualities, it will be years later after he has had some time to have done something meaningful and substantive. If he does get elected it will be simply because he is a black male running for office of the presidency of the USA.

I am all for good, decent black candidates running for the highest office (please, Condoleeza, please run for office!!!) but let's not elect someone simply because he is "the first black man" or the "first woman" to run for president. Hillary and Barak are not qualified to hold the office of president. They're not even worthy to be called Senator, either. It is a shame that these two have made it this far.

One day I hope to see a black man as President, a Hispanic, an Asian American (especially since I am one), a woman of any ethnic background. Let's just make sure they are entirely capable and fully qualified.

Very Funny
Now this is very funny, very clever writing. As opposed to "Bush, he, he he is stooooopid" remarks that pass as high comedy to the left.

Black Knight
"Only in conservatives circles can Obama take 24 hours to apologize and still get bludgeoned by Ms. Malkin, while Ann Coulter can take over one hundred times longer, 2,688 hours, to express her regrets, but get a pass from the same Ms. Malkin."

Only a Leftist could possibly believe there is a moral equivalence between Obama's own actions, which he apologized for, and the actions of others, for which Ann is supposed to either apologize for or publicly decry.

You people never cease to amaze.

I'll Leave
Just like all the silly liberals who swore to leave the country if Dubya won, I'm gonna leave if Obamamama wins.

What? The silly liberals never left like they promised?

Well then, I won't either. :-) (Yea - like he'll win.)

Great article - I laughed all the way through it.

I have to ask - if big feet and big hands means a man has a big ____, what do big ears mean?

Obamanations, i.e. greeting card phrases
I noticed a while ago when listening to Obama speak that writing his transcript would require an enormous number of commas, semi-colons, colons, and parenthesis. Then there would be underlining and bold print as well as italics. Thanks to Ann, someone has said what I had already been thinking about the way Obama speaks. The best comparison is to greeting card slogans and phrases, when it comes to what it is he is saying. After listening to Obama for a while, you really do wonder what the substance of his positions on political issues is. Try listening to him, you'll see.

Condi is CFR
Do you folks know that it is the CFR that developed the plan called, "Building a North American Community"? THIS IS WHY we are not doing anything to secure the borders. Here is a link:

Here is Richard Haas giving his views. WHY do we not listen?

Richard Haas
Richard Haas is the President of the CFR.

osama hussein obama ( per T. Kennedy)
Hmmm--Hussein is not a muslim? wanna bet? when the chips are down in WWIII against the most dangerous enemy this country has ever faced, what do you think the response of Hussein would be? just look at his response to fighting the enemy right now,and you KNOW where his allegiance lies.

Jimbo
So Alec Baldwin didn't leave!? I figured they must have been filming The West Wing from Canada or something! :-)

Oh, I forgot
to mention quotation marks and footnotes, so we'll know whether it's Hallmark, Gibson, American Greeting, Carlton Cards.

Former_Rep_Never_a_Dem
And like a good moonbat, I'm sure you'll vote 5 or 6 times.

On Ann Coulter & Obamania...
First of all, there are plenty of LEGITIMATE reasons to vote against Obama, Hillary, Edwards, et. al. without resorting to the silly stuff like Obama's middle name, distortions about his childhood, silliness like the supposed "Clinton Death List", and other ridiculousness. We discredit ourselves when we stoop down to that level of distortion and in some cases outright lies, and doing so certainly does nothing for credibility. Kudos to those who are "attacking" Obama on his actual positions, instead of his big ears, or middle name.

If Obama becomes a threat to Hillary, or if he goes negative, she will destroy him, simple as that. The whole faux-controversy about his supposed madrassa education as a child in Indonesia was brilliantly orchestrated by Hillary -- she knew if it were leaked to certain right wing sources, they'd run with it. It was a shot across the bow that also made the right-wing press look silly.

As for Coulter, come on, her humor is as juvenile as her bizarro twin Maureen Dowd. Both try to look intelligent by leveling insults at others, they just happen to shoot at different targets. Both have found a niche they can exploit for money and fame, such as it is, and both become increasingly shrill to get people to look at them (or read, as the case may be). Why read Ann? The same reason I read Dowd, to see just how shrill and venomous she can get.

Ann verse Maureen

Am I the only person who loves both Ann Coulter and Maureen Dowd? Any adjective you can apply to either, both negative and positive, applies to the other. They are just at the opposite end of the spectrum.

I would love to see the two of them in a debate, catfight, or a combination of the two. What an incredible pay-per-view opportunity that would be.

subtle issues?
Just as in the military, I wouldn't want an eighteen-year-old right out of boot camp leading my team into a high stress environment. Those kinds of leadership skills must be earned. PROVEN leadership skills must be mandatory. Experience is also a good follow-on. Forget the media hype and the hoopla...better to watch American Idol.

In referencing another part of your article Ann, I gotta' take issue with you. Dennis Kucinich is not, as I interpreted your inference, an idiot. Let's make it clear. He's a bloomin' hole where the sun doesn't shine idiot. But, that's okay. For those of us who've served either in the military or in any faction of our government and/or in any civilian capacity or otherwise hold to the premise of preserving the rights of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights, I, for one, understand that within the parameters of that concept we must also accommodate those who speak out against the very things we wish to preserve. Although I don't agree with those who do so, I do accept that as a reality. However, I also think that those who do attempt to inject any severe form of socialism, communistic doctrine or any other kind of disruptive, foreign ideology into our traditional America are those who've not paid the price either in blood or in deed. "They just don't get it." They're simply bottom feeders, leeches, who suck on the life blood that's been so heavily invested in those great documents.

Face It!
If Obama were white he would be just another junior senator from the midwest.

AudiR10
In how many ways can I love thee? A Conservative, race-car loving, funny, intelligent, well-mannered woman? I realize that there is an age gap but if I wasn't already taken... I remember Geraldine on the Flip Wilson Show from when I was just a pup. Thanks for bringing back such great memories! And thanks for the term "grabbybabies", it is one of my new favorites.

Kimberly, Roy, Black Knight, and
the loonies. . . What are you guys on? Have you seen how Hussein Obama looks? What's w/ that glaze look in his eyes, as if he needs a weed puff or something? That's attractive? That's presidential? You must be smoking the same thing he is.

Just in case all of you loony lefties need to be educated, which I'm sure you all do, whatever little Hussein Obama has spoken about policies, he has simply be repeating the same old socialist, even communist propaganda. Don't any of you loonies know anything about world history? Just try to read, if you can, on history during the last 50 years or so, and you'll see that most of what he has said, and basically all of the Democrats' speeches, are basically the in the same socialist direction. If you can read, you'd know that such socialist experiments have been tried and failed, and millions of people have died, exiled, and imprisoned as a result. So, wise up and read once in a while. Stop smoking so much weed, it's killing your brain cells.

It's funny but in a sad way, that in the year 2007, w/ so many years of history to teach us about how socialists and communists are the cancer of humanity, that so many Americans are still clueless and just blindly embrace such propaganda. It's a blessing that I was not born in America and having had to endure communism, and a miracle that my family and I escaped to America. Each time I'm around other immigrants from communist countries and politics come up in conversation, we always refer to you liberals as "damn stupid Americans!" Of course, that only applies to those truly stupid Americans who unknowingly embrace the leftist party that is the democratic party. Shame on you for not knowing how good you have it here.

Oh, by the way, for those of you morons who think that Hussein Obama has a chance to be president, just ask yourself one question: "How do you day his middle name?" Then go eat your spinach and those brain supplements. DOH!!!

Yeah right, a Hussein as an American president. HA HA! THIS IS AMERICA, STUPID!!

Wise words at last
From John Galt I mean, not from Ann Coulter who as usual is casting aspersions about other people's racism while going on and on and on and on about Obma's colour and his middle name. I may not agree with your politics John but it is refreshing to see someone with his head screwed on commenting on Townhall.

Honestly, I think Obamamania...
is tacit acceptance/realization that the democratic cupboard is relatively bare. (Not that the republicans have a stable that conservatives can be happy about) It will be Hillary or a Republican in 2008 and I think the prospects of Hillary scare many democrats as much as most republicans. I think many more democrats simply don't think Hillary can win and are looking for a stronger horse. And never underestimate the power of Oprah. She may become actively involved or not, but I believe her capacity to affect an election dwarfs that of G Soros or all of the H'wood toadies combined.

CVN65
Yer welcome! BTW, enjoying the Michael Waltrip/Toyota/Illegal Jet Fuel Additives Polka? We'll get them da--er, dingbusted Furriners outa NA$CAR if it's the last thing we ever do, s'welp me King Richard Petty, we will!

Anything that makes Bill France look bad is worth it to me.

P.S. Just tell Obama to keep repeating "The Devil Made Me Do It!" and "Here Come De Judge!" (Sammy Davis Jr., Laugh-In) If he gets the voice just right, that is, all the Sixties people will vote for him just because he makes us laugh.

Buck
If Obama were white, Alan Keyes might be a senator.

Former_rep_never_intelligent
Um, when you say Barak Hussein Obama's name is a nice "attempt to associate him with BOTH Saddam and bin Laden", are you suggesting his parents several decades ago thought to attach his name to those two? How did they know those names would be important? Or are you suggesting we on the right are slandering him by using HIS OWN NAME? What should we call him then?

By the way, I somehow doubt you are a former republican. I also doubt that you were never a democrat. (Unless, that is, you were CP-USA rather than democrat.)

Big Ears
Jimbo....Dumbo?

Dsmith
Thanks! I knew the daily "MAnne Coulter" post had to show up sooner or later. Do the DU-dummies and KosKiddies take turns going to all the sites and posting "Anne is a Manne", or do you draw lots to see who gets the honor?

Oops
Drop the "e"s off my "Anne"s and "MAnne"s. My mistake.

Obama is
just like the new guv of the socialist state of Mass., Deval Patrick. Another great brown hope. His slogan was 'together we can'. I always wanted to ask him 'we can do what". I wrote an op-ed where I said all his speeches were nothing more than blather, which they were. He did not put forward one idea. But of course he was black and 'art-tikalit'. So of course with all the guilty do-gooders we have here, he was elected among much fanfare and wistful sighing. Whats the first thing he does? Release millions that Romney vetoed to balance the budget than...THAN went on to warn us of future belt tightening due to an INHERITED budget deficit. As if he were in a cocoon during the last twenty years and just opened his latte brown eyes. It really saddens me to realize that there are so many idiots out there who vote their 'FEEEEEINGS' and mentally project their prejudices and hypocrisies. In doing so they inflict these underperforming hucksters on the rest of us.

Obama ideal for Republicans

....Ann... In States that allow open primaries I think all Republicans should turn out to vote for Obama ...this will energize the Clinton search and destroy machine and the black backlash will cause them to self-destruct and Romney should win in a walkover .....COLOSSUS

John Galt
I see nothing wrong with Ann using her ascerbic wit to attack the left but agree with you that many comments we see posted by those of us on the right (as in correct! :-) side that are rude, crude, and nasty doesn't help our side. We don't do that at their rallys and speeches (as was mentioned above) as they do to ours but many of us seem willing to do it on TH.

Speaking of Ann, anybody see the recent Law and Order show that had an Ann look & act-alike except for this actress had b00bs. But they said on the show that this woman makes Ann seem "normal!" It was kinda funny to see a liberal show try to portray a conservative commentator.

Obama's the candidate? Not quite ...
Is Barak H. Obama, the junior senator with less than four years under his Brooks Brothers' suits and articulate demeanor the candidate for president next year? According to the press, and even Sen. Omama himself, it sure seems like he's the candidate. On the other hand, let's give his chief speechwriter, (in case the Senator is too busy to write his own speeches anymore, given all those camera appearances, etc.) credit for the real VOB Voice of Obama!

You have to feel a little bit for Sen. Joe Biden who caught enough flak to bring down all our bombers during WWII for his botched praise of Obama earlier this year. All he did was tell the truth about Obama and he came out looking like David Duke by the end of his whupping by the 4th estate.

After all, compared to most speakers, Obama really is an articulate, neat and clean speaker. He's a rarity today. But Biden committed the political blunder of comparing Obama to the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Certainly Obama deserved better praise than to be compared to those two dolts. And, this, is the unspoken, or dared not to be openly spoken, comparison that had best not be too openly made all too evident, lest the public, especially the long and oft-exploited Black voting public, catch on to who their real leader ought to be.

Man, I can't wait for the real baseball season to open when my pin-stripped bombers from "Hymietown" can take the field again.

Black Obama?
I'm confused about this black thing. The guy is half white and half black...only black is ever mentioned as his race.Tiger Woods refuses to bow to that black only description. Is the media behind this? If a black communist ran for office ,would he be annointed by the media? Well, B. Hussein is running for president and he is as socialist as it gets and he is being annointed as the chosen one by the drive by media! If Hitler had been black would the media react the same as now? Absolutely!!

Obama's announcement
And a little history lesson.

He said he chose Springfield, Illinois because we wanted to be like Lincoln, who brought the country together.

Now, think back to history class in junior high or high school. Remember a little conflict called "The Civil War"?

The election of Lincoln to the Presidency was one of the factors in the final decision for the secession of the confederate states.

My family, not me, vote Democratic (even though they can't tell you why). They even say Obama should drop out of the race; that they only thing he has in common with Lincoln was time in the state legislature.

Articulate
If that is what's driving the media bonkers....He**, nominate William Buckley. He would be overqualified. Why the big deal of articulation being paramount to being elected? Would you expect him to be educated and give speeches in Ebonic prattle? Another way of looking at it is the press inadvertantly gushing, "Look a black than speak English!" Did they mess this one up without trying? For gosh sakes libs...give him a breather. Quit fawning!!

Black Knight, & Roy
Black Knight - Try reading in context. The sorrow that Ms. Coulter was expressing to Mr. Ford was for HIS relationship with HIS Party. Mr. Ford certainly has more experience and accomplishments in the relm of political leadership, yet he is not given the accolades that HIS Party affords Mr. Obama; and yes I am including the press as members of the Democrat Party as their own polls show that the Democrats receive 90% of the votes of the press.

Roy, let me introduce you to Randi Rhodes, and Julianne Malveaux to fulfill your search for hateful women. So far, aside from Osama Bin Laden, I don't recall Ann Coulter writing of desiring to hasten the death of any individual. Her writing may make them wish they were dead, but she is content to let the almighty administer those matters.

Chuck - Check our John Fund's column on Opinion Journal from Monday. Voting "Present" is taking a pass, always an option for a legislator, but seldom an alternative for an executive. That is why Senators seldom make decent Presidents.

Global Warmth
Makes a great point in comparing the new and improved governor we elected here in MA to Obama.

If only we could get the rest of the country to take a look at what we've done to ourselves up this-a-way.

Here is a guy that said absolutely NOTHING relative to policy initiatives, new ideas, direction--anything. And yet the lemmings elected him anyway. I exclude myself--I voted for the Republican--a woman, BTW, that actually had both experience and ideas--go figure.

Now we get to deal with a guy that wants to give the cities and towns the ability to create their own ADDITIONAL tax revenue, on top of what they already confiscate.

And he wants to ignore Sex Offender laws--gotta give those offenders a chance to reintegrate into society without that pesky notification to potential employers and neighbors--that ain't no good.

I can go on and on, but my point is made: we (and I reluctantly include myself in that, after all, I stayed, kind of like Alec Baldwin) elected a man based upon his skin color and empty platitudes, and look what we got.

And that's only on a state level.

What kind of damage can be done on a national/international level?

John of Gilnockie
What was it... "we should kill their leaders"; "my only regret with Tinothy McVeigh is that he did not go to the New york times building"; who was that politician she suggested poisoning? Coulter has expressed her preference for plenty of poeple meeting their maker sooner rather than later - it's one of her trademarks!

Roy head in the sand
"Meanwhile, why do otherwise intelligent people pay attention to Ann Coulter? Her tone and 'facts' resemble the tone and 'facts' of our enemies. Like them, she is a wild-eyed, raving extremist."

Eh? Read the rants from Al Qaeda and Iran and tell us how they are different from today's Democrat talking points.

leftismkiller
Coulter has called for umpteen people that she disagrees with to meet their maker. You don't really joke about killing people in public, particularly when you are supposed to be a serious political pundit. Although I see wikipedia is listing her as an "entertainer" nowadays and nobody really takes her seriously anyway so perhaps I am wrong. That said, John of Gilnockie (I hope he's not a Scot... bringing shame to my nation!!) pointed out seriously that she has never wanted anyone dead apart from Bin Laden and I pointed out that he was wrong. Seriously. I have a sense of humour but it dries up where she is concerned.

leftismkiller
Are you kidding? Members of the Left demonstrates over and over their utter lack of sense of humor. Remember: they find Al Franken humorous, that's all you need to know. Never mind their predilection for PC prissiness and blue-nosery about anything NOT to do with sexuality of any stripe.

fergus...
Come off it mate did you see any of that "comedy" show on Fox? Dear oh dear. Come back Andrew Dice Clay, all is forgiven!!!!

Lefties and Ann
Anytime I read Leftist twits opining about how Ann is just not funny, how she makes no sense, "Her writing is awful," "Her wit is as perplexing," yadda yadda, plus the obligatory "Ann is a man," "Ann is mean," Ann is shrill," etc. yadda and so forth...

... I am reminded of the old Air Force line: "If they're shooting at you, you must be over the target.

Based on the vehemence of the outcry against her on a weekly basis (seriously, come by here any Thursday and witness the worst that the Left has to dish out), I'd say she must be right over the target _EVERY_ _DAMB_ _TIME_!

leftismkiller
You are funnier than Coulter. At least that explanation or reply or whatever it was is funnier than anything she has ever written. She has called for plenty of people to die, way beyond just those respobnsible for 911. Wikipedia, for all of its faults, is correct on many, many things. One of the good things about it is that you can go in and edit anything on it. Anything, including what it says about Coulter. So why don't you just go ahead and do that. Make it right.

leftismkiller
Nice try. Check under people called Coulter. She's at the top of the list - next to the words "American entertainer".

FYI to TH Posters
Critical Bill lives in England...so please forgive him for not being able to grasp Ann's witty humor.

Maybe if we played some of that Benny Hill music for him......

Can't believe I'm having this argument

Leftismkiller
Head firmly out of keister. Time you followed suit.

So...
I will admit that she is described as you say. But she is also described as an "entertainer", depending on where you look. Agreed?

Answer me this...
Is there even one liberal on this site who believes the media would be fawning over BHO if he were a Republican?

If everything were identical; a "clean, handsome, articulate, young, partial-black" Republican from Illinois - you think 400 reporters would have shown up to his presidential announcement?

leftismkiller
Hmm... you're a tough nut to crack aren't you. Even there in front of you in black and white and you still deny it? Is it because you have difficulty reading? She is an entertainer of sorts, of course. Wheeled out to her fans whenever some sort of inflammatory comment is required. The right is so short of anyone approaching funny that she does qualify as an entertainer, there's no denying it.

leftismkiller
Well, you can deny it all you like. The words are there in plain english - "Ann Coulter - American Entertainer". Most mature people who are capable of discussion can see when they get things wrong - I am more than capable myself - and say so. I get more sense out of my three-year old nephew.

on Ann and Obama as Lincolnesque
Ann is a bomb thrower for better or worse.
Your feelings about usually depends on if you
think the bomb was intended to hurt you or
your side. She has never done much for me.
But I respect her popularity.

There is a lot of Obashing for his Springfield
allusion. So I have got a little list going here:

I find myself seeing Obama as Lincolnesque as
much as any other politician I've ever seen.

Especially in the way he summarizes Republican
positions. Much like Lincoln with Democrats,
you could probably get a better understanding
of the opponent's point of view from listening
to Abe or Barack than from listening to a
member of the rival party.
He also seems to have a similar temperament
as Lincoln.
Absent father.
Lost mother.
Unlikely background to become President.
From Illinois.
Lawyer.
Similar build.
Laid back parenting style (only sense this
from fluff piece on 60 Minutes)

No word yet on his sense of humor. Unlikely,
he can rival Lincoln's fondness for stories.

Here it is
Encyclopedia Britannica (an actual credible source) identifies Coulter as a "conservative pundit and commentator".

Please let it die now.

Icedog
Gladly. Any more of that and I was on the verge of opening my wrists with my teeth.

Everyonesfacts
You missed one HUGE difference....Lincoln didn't have to battle Schillary for the nomination.

When the Klintoon propaganda machine gets up to full speed Obama will be tore to shreds.

Critical Bill opines at 10:51 AM
"Wise words at last
From John Galt I mean, not from Ann Coulter who as usual is casting aspersions about other people's racism while going on and on and on and on about Obma's colour and his middle name. I may not agree with your politics John but it is refreshing to see someone with his head screwed on commenting on Townhall."

Bill... you mean somebody besides YOU?

Ba, ha, ha, ha...... !!

You crack me up, Mate!

Lynne
Thanks for paying so much attention to me. I had no idea you waited with baited breath for me to say something every day... I didn't realise I had a fan here on Townhall. But sorry Lynne, I'm taken. But just to amuse you, I will answer. It's important to keep the fans happy after all. Firstly, I do go to the liberal sites, crooksandliars, huffPost, Media Matters, counterbias, that sort of thing. But I prefer to engage and debate rather than sit around patting each other on the back. Fair? Secondly, political debate in the UK is a pretty uneventful affair. The BBC has forums but people don't really care enough about it to get involved. Tony Blair has turned us into midless zombies. Like her or loathe her, at least Thatcher got people talking. I did a political science degree and have always been interested in American politics. And finally, my wife is from Kentucky and we are emigrating there after our first child is born in September. Fair? I didn't get into the socialised medicine debate because I knew as soon as I said anything I'd be picked up for being a Brit. There just wasn't any point because I would have spent all day defending the NHS - which by the way works far better than you might believe.

leftismkiller
We have moved on from that by popular request. I agree with what you say it says; it DOES say that. Sure it does!! But it also says "American entertainer". What a jerk.

Critical Bill
Just curious when a consensus between you and Icedog became "popular request"...?

race
Isn't it interesting how the left plays the race card. Obama's mother is white, so is he not just as much of a white man as a black man? Or in polictically correct terms, is he not just as much of a "European American" as an "African American". Maybe he should call himself "African-European American" to appeal to all voters.

Woman bites dog

More than a "Rush Limbaugh in a miniskirt," or "entertainer" as Wikipedia describes her, Ann Coulter is a Hunter S. Thompson of the right. Like Thompson, she defies the stereotype you might expect. Instead of being a touchy-feely, granola-crunching liberal, Thompson was a gun-toting NRA member and a mean drunk. Instead of being demure and uxorious, Ann is abrasive, brassy and crude. Both are terrifically funny.

Because of their flamboyance, both often become the story more than their nominal subjects. I have no idea whether Ann is a Thompson fan, but she is a living member of the Gonzo generation, for good or ill, regardless of the particulars of her political shtick.

Coulter
When (if) she makes legitimate points they should stand on their own. The 'B. Hussein Obama' reference everytime she mentions his name is childish. You can either make an argument eloquently, or you can smear people. You can't successfully do both. She loses credibility with me after this one. I usually appreciate her articles, they certainly start the fur flying around here.

Ann: Political commentator or...
For one thing I guess this shows that wikepedia has problems--there are two different entries for Ann Coulter depending on how you get there. Nice!

As to whether Ann is an author, political commentator, etc. or an entertainer. Well, I'd have to say that she is both. Listening to Ann, having read several of her books, she is clearly the former. But I think it is just as clear that she is also very entertaining to read and listen to so I think she can be called an entertainer. Just compare her to Al(ice) Franken who is neither! :-) He had his funny moments back on SNL but he's been trying to live off that time for how long now!?

I'm Afraid
"a consensus between me and Critical Bill"...never would have thought that was even a remote possibility.

btw, Bill, you visit a moonbat site named "counterbias"?!? Is that a sick joke or is it similiar to the way some people call a 400lb man "Tiny".

Fergus
Given my popularity on Townhall, or lack of, I reckon that one request I agree with counts as "by popular request". Fair enough?

New Fox Shows
Anyone see the promos for the new Fox show, "The Half-Hour News Hour". (Sun 10PM EST) - the promo had Rush as Pres and Ann as VP.....my #1 fantasy!!

Ann is...
... laughing all the way to the bank, boyz n; grrrlz, and I really doubt it make's a mouse fart's difference to her how anyone chooses to categorize her, pundit or entertainer or ugly conservative chick with an Adam's Apple. And here's the bit the Lefties miss: every comment they leave on her columns adds to the numbers of perceived readers, which just enriches her further.

So by all means, Kimberloon and all you other moonbats: keep coming by and making Ann's day!

Icedog
Yep, that's what it's called. It's good one too you should check it out, although it isn't updated daily. Always a good idea to check out the opposition, like a football coach watching videos of next week's opponents. You might learn a thing or two. Or alternatively you can sit around on Townhall, agree with everyting that you read and then set about either patting each other on the back or setting attack mode on any liberal who dares interrupt your love fest.

Critical Bill
Given that that's the sort of sampling technique used in the exit polls that declared the election in John Kerry's favor 2 years ago... no, I don't accept that as being fair enough. ;-)

leftism
Or for that matter, we can just turn on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NPR...

leftismkiller
Well for starters the overwhelming majority of writers on those websites are infinitely more talented writers and far better informed than I am. Just like all of the Townhall writers are infinitely more talented and informed than you. Even Coulter.

FErgus
Well, at least I got someone at Townhall to agree with me - that's a first ha ha ha

People who call Ann mean have not read
much. She is eloquent and direct. She has tons of friends who are democrats. The left's qualifications for a President are (in no particular order):

1) Looks good, especially the hair. Can you imagine how many votes the affable Eva Braun would get?

2) Ideally a man who connects with women or minorities and just lately a woman or minority who is non-threatening.

3) A record of talking a lot, but saying little of substance and having few written articles expressing in-depth thoughts on subjects. To let their true socialistic persona come through is a definite no-no.

4) No felonies on the books. Ideally, commit your crimes against women who can easily be bullied. It's actually a plus for the men to be considered cads. You can tsk, tsk away such things as outrageous returns on futures markets or land dels where you have to put nothing up but walk away with millions. After all, who DOESN'T do this?

5) Have a talent for jingo-isms. Nothing quite captures the mind of the left's constituents like a well-worded phrase.

6) Never, EVER talk about raising taxes. It's a given that will happen once they take office anyway, so why bother.

7) Good facial expressions showing how they "feel your pain" or convey that the Republicans are wrong

8) Pro abortion. Don't even bother if you're not. This applies to all religions and how they square that with their God is their business.

There are more - all equally as vapid.

leftismkiller
Why thank you! Nice compliment. Quite surprising after our exchanges today. Can't say that I agree with you but thanks anyway. Not that you never see any Republican talking points on Townhall - perish the thought!

Obama
You're obviously piqued red because, unlike Obama, you were never even considered qualified for the presidency of the Harvard Law Review, let alone of the United States.

leftismkiller
I said that they were much more talented than I am; you said that they weren't. I took that as a comliment, even if you didn't intend it as such. I might not agree with you but I'm not dumb, even if in the heat of this I write things that I later think are stupid. Believe it or not there are lots of very bright people who aren't conservatives. I'm not really one of them, but dumb I ain't. Stll, must be hard for you to tell your arse from your elbow you are so blinkered by your rabid politics. Anyway, must dash, have a cocktail party to attend. Cheers!

Why I Love Ann
1. Her acerbic, witty lampooning of the leftards drives them crazy. (Well that wouldn't be a drive, it would be a putt.)

2. Her uncanny ability to cut incisively to the heart of liberal inanities, lay them open for all to see, and then criticise them in the most effective way possible - with derisive humor.

3. Randi Rhodes hates her.

Ann Coulers Biggest Problem?
Is that she is BORING...

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Left Angle
Then why bother coming here and posting?

Shoo fly, don't bother us...

icedog
"...Is there even one liberal on this site who believes the media would be fawning over BHO if he were a Republican?..."

Let's look at a different case. Suppose Condi Rice were a Democrat, say, in Bill Clinton's administration. No one in the MSM would be having circle jerks about a Hillary presidency, right?

drolmorg
His given name is not B. Hussein Obama, don't be so obtuse. If you don't recognize it as a (not so) subtle backhanded remark regarding the ethnic/Muslim connection...well that's on you. John Galt summed it up earlier. There are legitimate objections that can be raised and there are schoolyard techniques. I'm all for the use of wit in Coulter's writing, but I don't see the wit in deliberately mis-representing the man's name.

Regarding Sen. Obama's bi-racial origins
There was recently a discussion on a local morning drive radio station where some in the black community questioned Barak's right to identify himself as "African-American."

The reason? Check this out.

His father is from Kenya, and therefore likely not descended from slaves brought here from west Africa. Ergo, neither Sen. Oboma nor his father are entitled to identify themselves as "African American."

Go figure!

drolmorg
No problem with using his full name, Barack as opposed to B. His given name is Barack, not B. I never said he wasn't named Hussein, I said, clearly, his given name is not B. Hussein Obama, you seem to have read something else into it. Again see John Galt at 9:51. And thank you for paying such close attention to what I said and for disregarding his post, they have the same message. You are correct in that this is like
talking to 5 year olds....sheesh.

hosekuervo
I know I am coming to the party late and some of you have already responded but I simply have to respond to hosekuervo:

You said:
"Get some help Ann Your anorexia/bulomia problem needs to be addressed at some point. You're beginning to look like you should be on the Faces of Meth website. Eating disorders are treatable."

Leave it to libtards like you to disagree with a conservative columnist in this manner. Is that the best you can do? Can you point out one fact that Ann sited that is factually incorrect?

Do you have a well thought out rebuttal based in fact that might make the rest of us here consider your point and possibly change our minds?

Of course you don't. What you did is what passes for intelligent liberal debate these days. Grow up.

A question for leftismkiller
two actually...
Would you kindly reference your source that would paint me as a "liberal"?
Did F. Lee Bailey prefer that variation of his name or was it given him by those who would see him defeated?
Conservatives want to triumph our ideas in the marketpalce of same, and we drop snide references designed specifically to recall Saddam Hussein to disparage the man. This passes for a clever idea? Weak, man. Weak. I agree that there are reasons to suspect the man's positions, but I'll never drink the kool-aid like that.

Critical Bill
Just like you left wing Euro pansies: rather than discuss the merits of the points Ann makes through satire (that's a form of humor Bill -something you're obviously lacking in)you've devoted a tremendous amount of energy into calling her the usual names and arguing over whether she is an entertainer or a writer/political commentator using wikipedia as a source of all things. Isn't it enough to agree that Ann's political commentary is entertaining? Try to stay on point here. Is what Ann said factually incorrect or not? If so where and why?

LEFTIST/COMMIES....JUST KEEP ON READING
The leftist are up in arms and that means Ann must be doing something right. Kimberly and the rest of her fellow commies just keep on reading.

Roy, Islam is anti-Christ
See muslims like to say that they revere Jesus as a Prophet, and yet they don't accept anything he said about himself. They only say that to fool the uneducated and nieve about their true
intentions. Ask any muslim if they accept Jesus as the only begotten son of God. And ask them if they believe that Jesus rose from the dead and assended into heaven.

Mahammed was a agent of Saten, tasked with countering the spread of Christianity.

Critical Bill
Sorry, but hyperbole in a column does not match the serious invocation that Justice Thomas's spouse feed him large quantities of butter and eggs in hopes that he die an early death of heart disease.

To answer your other question regarding my moniker, my ancestors emigrated from the lowlands of Scotland (Dumfrieshire and Northumberland), arriving on these shores around 1660 in Virginia. Prior to their departure my ancestors were the impetus of Archbishop Gavin Dunbar's "Great Cursing", they fought along side William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, but eventually were defeated (along with many others) by Oliver Cromwell. Those who escaped decided to put some distance between themselves and the Crown.

In the American Revolution (I suppose you were taught that it was the Colonial Rebellion of 1776?), my ancestors fought alongside George Washington, Henry Lee, and Francis Marion. This time they were on the winning side.

Yes, I am very proud to claim a Scots Heritage, to know that I am a decendent of the one whose name I chose as a moniker. But I am also extremely proud to be an American, and do appreciate the ideas and ideals upon which our Republic was founded. Are we perfect? Heavens no, and we are a far sight from being perfect. But until this point in time, we do have the distinction of correcting the mistakes that we have made, and growing beyound the shortfalls of our design.

Finally, I understand that you are emigrating to Kentucky in September. Congratulations, the Blue Grass State is adjacent to my own, and is a wonderful place to visit or raise a family. Fair warning though, Mint Juleps should not be consumed casually, and Single batch whiskey (or whisky) is always preferable to blends. I suspect that after you have lived here for a period of time (say 3 years) you will come to appreciate the invective of Ms. Coulter. You can laud yourself all day long for the initiative you took to do "Opposition research" at those other sites, but until you have been immersed in the bias of our main stream media, you really can't appreciate Ms. Coulter.

So here's a pre-emptive welcome to the U.S.of A, and best wishes to you and your wife on your impending addition.

There. I feel better getting that word into this discussion, even if I have to do Kimberly's job for her.

John-of-Gilknockie/Poot
That was a very interesting and gracious response to Critical Bill; the type of interaction that makes one proud to be a conservative.

Even if he doesn't thank you, I'd like to thank you for keeping the conversation elevated. That's part of what makes this site so enjoyable.

Critical Bill: I too would like to welcome you to our shores. I hope that you grow to love this country as much as we (well, most of us, anyway) do.

And Poot: what a hoot!

Lynne
See, Kimberly plays a very useful role. Which is why I think she may well be a townhall plant created to stir up the conversation! She's not around and you miss her!

Hey, poot

How about B'wanna Oomgawa?

And, Lynne - Thanks for the tip. That's a GREAT picture!

Dismemberment never. Disinterest always.
"When was the last time you fantasized about dismembering the authors of a book of platitudes?" she asks as she hammers home her meager point that Sen. Obama's middle name is Hussein.
Well, I can't answer your question, Ms. Coulter, because I have never fantasized about that. I have fantasized about a world in which your words were never published and it wasn't my job to read them. And the last time was just a moment ago.
There may come a day when our schools actually do work, and the critical thinkers they produce decide that you are utterly unimportant. What a happy man I will be on that day.
And by the way, one of my dearest friends bears the family name Hussein, so you're really turning me off with stupid namecalling.

Coulter is a "polemicist"
At least that's how she describes herself.

No one who has read "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" or "Treason" would ever allege that Coulter is primarily an entertainer.

Coulter's comment that we should kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity was written in the heat of the moment upon hearing that her dear friend Barbara Olson had been killed as a passenger on one of the 9/11 planes. Considering the circumstances it was an extremely mild reaction. It is especially mild since my opinion was and still mostly remains similar.

Have we not killed most of the high-ranking al Qaedas we've found? And do we not send predator drones whenever we think we have a good shot at another? Reagan bombed Khaddafi's house. Clinton bombed Baghdad and an aspirin facory. And Bush ordered an attack that missed Saddam by minutes and killed several close associates. Were they all not trying to kill terrorist leaders on those occasions?

Has anyone in this country shed a tear for the now deceased Saddam? Does the left not continue to bash Bush to this day for not "getting" bin Laden?

The left's idea of political humor is to invent new ways of saying they think Bush is dumb. But when a truly witty and intelligent conservative uses satirical remarks and metaphors to highlight the emptiness of a man the left is running for President she is bashed as "mean" and dismissed as an "entertainer" by the very people who claim that nothing she says is funny.

It may interest you leftists to know that several wannabes, including Bill O'Reilly, have tried to dismiss Rush Limbaugh as just an "entertainer" in order to avoid dealing with his very substantive logic and conservative political commentary. And he is only the most successful radio talker of all time.

All of this labelling is transparent and vacuous. It is just another way the left refuses to engage on the issues, or as Sean Hannity says, "Meet me in the arena of ideas."

Cynewulf, Lynne

It's your JOB to read AC? Is that some sort of admission that DailyKos, et al actually hires people to toss drivel this way?

That's beautiful. You read the entire opinion piece of Ms. Coulter and then another 216 or so comments to post THAT?

What a maroon.

Diversities
All of this talk regarding Obama, Hillary, McCain...
tires me to no end. Power mad authority seeking individuals all, who seem to know how you should live your life better than you and everyone else.

Vote for Ron Paul, if you have an ounce of regard for our Constitution. That's only because I'm not running in '08 myself.

Re: B. Hussein Obama
There is nothing wrong with Coulter's repeated emphasis on Obama's middle name.

She wants to stress that in the midst of a war with islamic radicals the Democrats and the left in general are touting a muslim for President.

Coulter, like me, does not believe any muslim should be trusted with the nation's security; not when we are at war with Islamic fundamentalists who teach and practice a sect of Islam that REQUIRES infidels to convert (submit, actually) or die. You can disagree with her opinion, but to say she should not make the point is just another thinly disguised attempt by the left to silence an opposing opinion.

If the ad was not intended to play on the racial fears of white men vis a vis black men and white women, then why was it used?

Was it because Ford stopped by a Playboy party at the Superbowl, as the conservatives say?

If that's the case, then why not have a Hugh Hefner look-a-like in the ad saying, "Harold, call one of my bunnies when you are in town."

If this was just about bunnies, why not have someone representing as a look alike, the head bunnyman himself, Hugh Hefner, in the ad?

Or,

Why not have a real bunny in real bunny ears in a real bunny costume in the ad?

Merrill Lynch names Harold Ford vice chairman
The former congressman will also become senior policy advisor at the firm, effective March 5.
February 14 2007: 9:39 AM EST

"NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. annouced Wednesday former congressman Harold E. Ford will join the firm as vice chairman and senior policy advisor, effective March 5.

Ford, who was elected to Congress in 1996 at age 26, served five terms. He sat on the House Budget Committee and the House Committee on Financial Services.

Earlier this year, Ford was elected chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council, the progressive policy and issues advocacy organization (CNN)."

Only in conservatives circles can a black man be elected to Congress at 26, be on the Budget and Finance Committees, a Vice-President of Merrill Lynch, Chairman of the Democratice Leadership Comference, and still be called a douchebag.

And then they can't figure out for the life of themselves why black people vote against them 90%.

(JJ)."
***

It took Kerry almost 5 days to apologize.

The landscape is littered with politicians who take weeks, months years to apologize.

It's been three years since we have been lied to concerning the weapons of mass destruction, and still people have trouble admitting that they lied; AFTER THREE FULL YEARS!!!!!!!!!

So Obama mispoke and within 24 hours he apologizes and still gets raked over the coals.
***

Consistency has everything to do with everything else.
***

Irrationality is in the eye of the beholder.
***

Good that you are so perfect, that you've never said anything you immediately felt remorseful for but took several days to express that remorse.
***

I can draw any analogy I want.
***

I never said that Couter's regret was an apology. What post were you reading?

Certainly not mine.
***

If you want to make a list with Colin Powell on it, you are welcome to it.

This is America. You are free to do as you wish.
***

It's all black, because all American Presidents have been all white. I had to balance that thing out.

No need to list white potential candidates.

They have been well represented.

I believe in the American way. Root for the underdog.
***

Am I racist?

The answer is "No."

But let's use your logic.

If my all black list proves that I'm racist, then America's all-white Presidents proves that America is racist.

Those are your words not mine.!!!
***

Yeah everyone is personally responsible for what they do, but as social critics Malkin and Coulter have a duty to be consistent, as we all do.
***

Obama has very good character, has admitted his drug and alcohol use, whereas some in the Whitehouse have never admitted it.

You have every right to be polar opposite of Obama.

So what if LeftismKiller has a low opinion of Mr. Ford? A man could be elected to all those positions you mention, and still not warrant a high one. I have no opinion on Mr. Ford, because I know nothing about him.

If you say they simply shouldn't have made the ad at all, even if Ford had been white, then that's an argument about the appropriateness of playing on Ford's attendance of Playboy parties, not a charge of racism (L)."

I don’t think all republicans are racists. I think there are different types of republicans. The racist republican, the rich republican and the environmentally infuenced republican. the racist republican of course speaks for itself. He or she is republican because he feels that party does not hold the best interest of african americans in any regard. This particular type of republican would rather suffer him or herself as a poor american than to see blacks progress in society. The rich republican is a republican for the obvious reasons…the tax cuts and benefits given to the rich and wealthy nothing more. The environmentally influenced republican is a republican because his or her peers are republican or he or she has been brainwashed by those around him. In other words, the particular company one keeps can also influence how one thinks. So know I don’t think all republicans are racist. They have different agendas. However, I do believe that the ones that are not racist have a selfish motive (rich and wealthy republican) or just clueless to the social woes and problems of society.

Didnt see your reply of 8.45. Doesnt matter anyway, because you have a habit of avoiding any real argument. TWO separate individuals (at least) drew the SAME conclusions from a point you made. Does that not tell you... you know... something about how you expressed yourself, should they BOTH have drawn the same "wrong" conclusion? Heh!

Anyway, you should have backed up already, when I called you for "twisting" my words and putting words in my mouth that I never said. The fact that you didnt means you are intellectually dishonest, and a "waste" of time debating.

MORON!!!!

An "inference" is someone that one person draws from another person's words.

One person IMPLIES through their words, the other persomn INFERS from the first person's words.

Learn how to use the language correctly, dumba55!!!

You understand nothing. Your attempt to encapsulate and describe is typically pathetic and off-base, however.
